Starting point is 00:00:30 now wait just a minute Netflix wanted to buy Disney also so funny because I see people going that doesn't make any sense Disney made more than Netflix Disney was Disney was trying to sell a couple different times Apple and other things now whether or not Netflix could have gotten it is a different question again with money outside
Starting point is 00:00:52 we'll discuss that that they even were considering it and how real was it and all that we'll get into it Um, there's stuff. Aragorn, my favorite character in Lord of the Rings. I was interested and confused when they said that Vigo is coming back for that Gallum prequel. It's like, you know, the guy is a, is a older character, but he looked young. And we go, it was 20, 25 years ago, whatever it was.
Starting point is 00:01:20 So how are they going to do that? Well, they said, we're going to do it this way. We're going to recast. So they're recasting Aragorn. Is that good? Is that bad? Does it matter? Does it not matter? They asked Daisy Ridley about the Adam Driver movie. We've got her thoughts.
Starting point is 00:01:36 There's a lot of other stuff. There's tons of stuff that we can discuss today on my lonesome. And like I said, today on the Wednesday shows, I wasn't even going to do a show today. But I was like, you know, there's some stuff to discuss. There's some things that we can get out there and I'll do it. And I like having these kind of shoot the shit shows with you guys. ask whatever you want to ask and sometimes they're long, sometimes they're short. We'll see what it's going to be today.
Starting point is 00:02:03 So it's me on the Christian Harlov show by myself. Let's do it. What's going on, everybody? Welcome back to the show. There's going to be some interesting talk here today. There's some interesting stories. And the first was this one. It's like Disney was up for sale.
Starting point is 00:02:35 And Netflix was going to want to buy them before anything. Well, that's the report. Comic book movie says Netflix considered buying Disney before moving forward with the $82 billion acquisition of Warner Rellers. So it's been confirmed that Netflix considered buying Disney, Marvel Studios, and Star Wars, before ultimately shifting its focus to acquiring Warner Bros. Pictures N.H.B.O. While it will still face competition from Paramount Skydance, Netflix is. moving forward with this plan acquisition of Warner Brothers Disney film and TV assets. When it's all said and done, the company will own one of Hollywood's oldest movie studios
Starting point is 00:03:13 in Warner Brothers Pictures, given theatrical business to go with its streaming platform. Of course, the big fear is that is all part of Netflix's plan to destroy theaters and create a Netflix Warner Brothers mega platform. And yes, if it happens, bet on the monthly subscription price skyrocketing. It seems that Netflix has been on the hunt for a major acquisition for some time. Bloomberg is reporting that the streamer considered buying Disney. would have had Marvel, Star Wars, and even the House of Mouse theme parks and cruise ships. EA was also considered through the video game company.
Starting point is 00:03:44 It has negotiated deal to go private with the help of group investors, including somewhat controversial Saudi Arabia's public investment fund. As it stands, Netflix's $82.7 billion acquisition of Warner Brothers will give it access to HBO, DC Studios, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings. As for why Netflix didn't get his hand on Disney, it's partly down to co-founder and Chairman Reid Hastings, who avoids major deals because he prefers to build things from scratch. Also, executives could never coales behind a deal because they didn't want to hurt their stock price by overpaying for an asset that traded a much lower multiple.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Ted Sarandos recently said, despite industry fears, he's committed to the theatrical releases. Okay. So, again, confirmed. There's not one of these things like, I don't believe it. Confirmed. You believe it or you don't believe it. how they were going to have the money. Another question.
Starting point is 00:04:37 But I'll tell you, I think I would have rather seen them get Disney than Warner Brothers, to be honest. I would have loved to see what they would have done with Star Wars. I would love to see, and that's, is that selfish? 100%.
Starting point is 00:04:53 And to see new ownership on that side of the Disney brand, I think it's time. I think it's time. But there's a lot of stuff. that the Disney brass is still doing that's pretty good and that's not bad over there and they're making things that are
Starting point is 00:05:09 working but I would have liked to see Netflix take over especially with Star Wars that's that's that's the main thing but I happen to agree David Jardia says no Apple should get Disney I happen to agree with you I think I'd rather see that happen
Starting point is 00:05:25 if it's going to happen at all that would be amazing I just don't know if it will so yeah I don't know. Apple would be great. Apple would be great because it wouldn't, it would, it'd be quality over the quantity stuff. And I think there'd be a lot more.
Starting point is 00:05:45 God, I would love to see that. I'd love to see Apple take over Star Wars and Marvel. And the theme parks and all that other stuff too. So this is interesting though. You know, it just shows that they wanted to get, they wanted to get into the game. And it proves again, a lot of us wrong, myself included. that they were just kind of driving up the price
Starting point is 00:06:08 and had no interest in this and just run their own thing. They clearly had an interest. But I actually take the opposite side of this, the fear mongering that goes into it about how they're going to stop the theatrical and all that. I actually think this proves the opposite. I think this shows like, you know, no, no,
Starting point is 00:06:25 we've got our thing that we do and that we have for streaming and other things, but let's get that theatrical branch. And whether it's Disney or, or Warner Brothers, whatever it is. They're making a play. So, yeah, man. That is, I think, though, as a few of you have already mentioned, I guess the bigger question, right?
Starting point is 00:06:51 So if Disney was even being considered, like, it's one of those days. If it said in that report, well, the reason they didn't get is Disney didn't want to sell. It's not on the market. It's not what the report said. And from what I heard, at one point, Apple was close, but they didn't want the theme parks and the other stuff that came with it. So they backed out. But that doesn't mean that I can't come back around.
Starting point is 00:07:17 And that's why I've been so adamant and hoping that Apple would get it. I just think that they, I don't know if they're going to go back again. I'd like to see them go back. I'd like to see that happen. It'd be great. Is the Supergirl teaser trailer out already? It's tomorrow, I thought. Is it out now?
Starting point is 00:07:31 Is it? I hope not. end this damn show to a trailer reaction. I'll be in today's show. Let's see. Did it drop? I don't think so. I don't, I didn't see that it dropped.
Starting point is 00:07:50 Are you just saying Supergirls trailer? Oh, no, the poster. Okay. Poster dropped. Yeah, I'll wait until the trailer. I mean, you'll look at the poster. I never understood that. And I always pushed back against it when we did it on Collider.
Starting point is 00:08:04 and stuff. It's like it's a poster reveal today. The next day, it's usually when the trailer comes out. Let's do both. I'm doing the poster for it. It always drove me nuts. We covered the poster on everything. The poster dropped. What does the poster mean?
Starting point is 00:08:21 And sometimes you get an image and everything too, but it's like, I don't know. I'll look at the poster in a second. But the trailer drops tomorrow. and I'm interested in it. Want to see.
Starting point is 00:08:38 Curious. Poster breakdown. Yeah, exactly. That's the whole point. Poster breakdown. We'll do a poster breakdown by this gentleman here. Where is he? I don't even have it anymore.
Starting point is 00:08:53 I don't even have it anymore. Oh, there he is. Perfect. Hold on. Can I do this? I don't even if I can do it. I can't do it this way. You can't do it when I can split the screen. Where you going?
Starting point is 00:09:08 Okay, I'll stay an idea. Put my nuts on your arm. Supergirl. Oh, she's a super girl. Why she's a drunk all the time, mamas? Come on. I get it. You can get drunk on other planets so you flies around with you dogs.
Starting point is 00:09:25 And you say, hey, come on, crypto, you stupid ass. With your dumb ass. You super dog, dumb as shit. I got super nuts. for your crypto ass. Supergirl, you're doing the poster breakdown. Break down, right my nuts on the poster. Say, yeah, I'm big balls.
Starting point is 00:09:46 I'm all by my lonesome. Ain't no one bother on me? Yeah, I do a whole fucking show like this. I drop the F-bob? Yeah, I just interview people. Who? He's a ghost. Remember Casper?
Starting point is 00:10:02 He's right there. You can't see him. Because I'm the Haley Joel. in this mother. I can see dead's people. And sometimes I play with them. Yep, in that way. I play with the asses. Ghost asses. That's what I do. Yeah, that's my thing. You don't like it? I don't care. Somebody out there, you come in here and you're looking and you're judging.
Starting point is 00:10:28 You know, judgmental. Well, maybe you need to look at yourself in the mirror and realize You ain't nothing until you spread the word of the bowls. Yeah, the big balls. Yeah, make a little t-shirt. You see, everybody smells. Because it's true. Sometimes they smell terrible, but sometimes they smell good. Yeah, I remember us?
Starting point is 00:10:57 Yeah, see, that's the problem when no one has their wits about them to tell me the shush. See, I can say whatever I want. You're going to cancel me? Go ahead. Can't cancel me. I got sunglasses on and my dick out. If I uncanceled now, you ain't canceling me. Yeah, I'm George Washington and this mother. I'm the first, and I'm always the last. Last one out?
Starting point is 00:11:24 Fucked up. That's me. See, I'm just singing into the microphone. And you know, this guy who runs me, who's got my hand up my ass like a puppet? If you get annoyed with this, he'll do this for three hours. They do a three and a half hour stream of me just talking. Yeah. That's what I do. I just sit there with my balls and my dick out.
Starting point is 00:11:49 And you'll be honest, if you were allowed to do it, you'd do it too. You just get arrested. I don't. That's the thing. I can walk around like this. And if people try to arrest me, I say, why? what you got against me that's what i do i don't need to wear pants i'm a chipmuh that's dem all right thank you for that you can go away now yeah that's it should do the whole show
Starting point is 00:12:22 it's big balls it's hilarious people i absolutely love that he was able to show up all by himself that's it oh the balls he shows up sometimes he shows up sometimes he doesn't doesn't. But this time he did. And he gave you guys a lot. He gave you guys a lot. We should do. I would love to like interview someone really serious as big balls. You know, that would be amazing. Like Daniel DeLewis. It's so good. It would be so good if big balls interviewed like Daniel de Lewis or or Anthony Hopkins. That's, that's what I, that's what I'd want to say. I pay a lot of money. A lot of money to see that.
Starting point is 00:13:16 Be so good. Yeah. See, that's exactly what I would do. Is that if I had an opportunity, see, I would blow my opportunities by doing that. I finally get to interview Julia Roberts and I do it as big balls. That'd be good.
Starting point is 00:13:36 That'd be pretty good. Yeah. So I don't care. Doesn't matter. and, you know, Tarantino interviewing by Big Balls would be pretty good, too. Someone said they'd fire their publicist. It's probably true. That's true.
Starting point is 00:13:53 I wish Big Balls was around during the Schmo's days. That would be funny. I don't know. Well, Ellis would have gone along with it for a little bit. I think eventually it would have. And so, whatever. Okay. So, is there anything really more to the same?
Starting point is 00:14:14 discuss with the Disney side of it? Are they going to be sold? I don't know. Maybe. I don't know. I don't think so. And this might be precedent, though, with what's going on now with Netflix and Warner Brothers. What's going to happen at the end of that?
Starting point is 00:14:36 Because I don't know if it's going to be like, we talked about yesterday on the show, the competition. With the studios is going to be the big thing. All right. other stories to discuss but in the interim if you want to throw questions in there there's no world we're going to beat Mike and Roxy today 171 but you ask me whatever you want to ask me I got more to talk about more stories I think that's what we're going to do

Starting point is 00:17:11 they're so good. I love them. I'm getting a pair for a friend for Chris Miles. Okay. So let's get to this story. This was going to be the lead story, but we decided to talk about that Netflix potential Disney thing. But check this out.
Starting point is 00:17:32 Yo, Aragorn. He's going to be recast in the hunt for Gowlum. The upcoming Andy Circus directed the Lord of the Rings hunt for Gullum is expected to see multiple actors from the original Lord of the Rings trilogy reprising their roles. As previously reported, the film is set just prior to the events of Lord of the Rings, the Fellowship of the Ring, as Aragorn, Gandalf, Sauron are all looking for Ghalm, and the story will unfold from Ghalm's perspective. It was previously confirmed that characters like Frodo and Gondoff all appear in the movie,
Starting point is 00:18:02 with Aragorn expected to be a major role. He's tasked by Gondup to find Gollum, before the creature can share any sensitive information about the One Ring with anyone would take it back to Sauron. Vigle Mortensen is normally older than he was during his time as Aragorn, but the previous plan was to potentially use de-aging tech and get the actor back for the role. Now, Knight Edge Media is reporting that the production has instead opted to go for a younger actor in the role. The outlet claims several actors have already met with director of Circus about playing Aragorn, but their names are currently unknown.
Starting point is 00:18:31 The Rings Trilogies have recast major actors before, most notably the character of Bilbo with Martin Freeman, replacing Ian Holm in the role of the Hobbit trilogy. Circus directs the film, Peter Jackson, producing, yada, yada, yada. I'm kind of torn on this because I understand if they don't, well, a couple different things, right? The de-aging side of it, if, I mean, if the one place that can really get it done,
Starting point is 00:19:02 it's these guys with Weta and all that, they, they can make, they could make it happen to make it look good. And with all the new technology and the better deep fake and stuff, they could do it to be expensive, but they could do it. It's more about the Irishman side of it. It's the movement because Vigo ain't, you know, 25 years younger, 25 years older. And the movements, whether you're de-aging or not, you can tell. The De Niro Stomp, a seven-year-old man trying to pretend he's
Starting point is 00:19:36 25 years old, you can tell it immediately. So was that it? Maybe Vigo just wasn't interested anymore. But the problem is it's the solo side of it. It's going to be hard if these other characters are coming back and Vigo isn't. It's going to be hard to look at the new actor and really give them a fair shot. and this is one of those things again. This is this is only,
Starting point is 00:20:08 this is right before the events of Lord of the Rings. So he's got to kind of match the tone. You can't do one of those things though. Everybody always takes this stance and there's sometimes you can't do it. It's like, well, he wanted to make it his own. Sure. But you still have to,
Starting point is 00:20:24 you've got to match what he built on the character because it's the same character and it's the same version of the character. It's the same timeline. It's not a different movie. a different take. It's the same take. You've got to match. Whoever gets castes and has to match his energy. And that ain't easy to do. You have to match his character choices. That's what you have to do. So you got to get somebody who you say right away like immediately. Okay. Great, great call.
Starting point is 00:20:53 I'm in. That, that's Aragorn to me. I still like, I love Alden Aaron. I think he's a great actor. to me never hit and there's never Han Solo. I hate the stupid conversation of Wall. He didn't turn into Han Solo. He was learning. You're always the essence of who you are and you can see it in there. He just, he was a different character. He was, it wasn't a bad performance.
Starting point is 00:21:20 Happened to be a great performance. It's just in no world should Lando be overpowering you in charisma. He's got a lot of charisma, but no world should he overpower you. It should be an equal balance, and it wasn't. And you don't want that to happen in, for Arabor. Someone said, Paul Meskel, it would be a good chance, a good choice. That would be a good choice, Paul Mescal. So I'm very interested to see if they're, like, how this is going to work,
Starting point is 00:21:51 because that was an exciting thing to see him coming back as Aragorn, because I think that even though he was 25 years older, I think as an audience, we'd be pretty damn forgiving because it's Vigo. You'd still have the criticisms of it. And then like I said, the Irishman side of it, you'd have all that.
Starting point is 00:22:15 But it's Vigo. And to see him back as Aragorn again would have been, that was part of one of the draws. So I think this is one of, of those times, I'm torn on this, because most of me says getting an unknown is going to be risky, very risky. Because if you get the unknown, unless the unknown is just so good and it's a star making performance and it's this guy just made his career by reinventing or continuing Aragorn.
Starting point is 00:22:55 But that's not an easy task. Getting someone like, like you said, a Paul Meskell or something along those lines, that would be a way to market and say, okay, someone at that caliber, maybe so. So I don't know. I think it's pretty risky to recast Vigo, especially when you're bringing back everybody else. I don't know. What do you guys make of? You think this is a good move to recast him, a bad move to recast him,
Starting point is 00:23:29 let's see before we judge what say you guys put your thoughts in there and let me know all right um we know this already but i'm going to reiterate it we've got some trailers that are set and let's talk about exactly when these trailers are set we know about the big one of course being doomsday so We've got Doomsday, Masters of the Universe, Odyssey, the untitled Steven Spielberg UFO movie, Supergirl. Those are some big trailers. And I think every one of those, Masters of the Universe might not be on my anticipated because of what I heard about it. It used to, it was probably in the number 10, but now I'm very, very skeptical about the movie. But still interested to see a trailer.
Starting point is 00:24:26 multiple big previews for 2026 are due to arrive in the next week, and now two of them have been confirmed. First up, IMAX has confirmed their plans for nearly six-minute prologue for The Odyssey. Prolog will be attached to the screenings of both sinners in one battle after another this coming Friday, according to Variety. Then a more regular trailer for The Odyssey will play ahead of Avatar on the 19th. Prolog will continue to run exclusively before screenings of Avatar, Fire, and Ash. Nolan released the first trailer for the film back in July.
Starting point is 00:24:56 Really? I don't think I've even seen it. It was exclusives and never released online. Oh, I still haven't seen a trailer for it. I was going to, you know, it's Nolan. I was going to, I was about to just be judgmental. I don't know how smart that was. What do I know?
Starting point is 00:25:13 Prolog isn't expected to go online, but the regular trailer will be, though it's unclear if that will be sometime next week before hit cinemas or a few days later. Also confirmed is that the upcoming year, out teaser trailer for Doomsday, which will be attached to Avatar Fire and Ash will clock in at one minute and 25 seconds long. That's not very long at all. Runtime is recently confirmed by the Korea Media rating board.
Starting point is 00:25:35 Like with The Odyssey, it's not clear when Marvel intends to release the clip online. As previously reported, a 90-second teaser for the Spielberg's UFO thriller, which doesn't have an announced title as yet is going to be attached to Avatar Fire and Ash. Other trailers also expected to show in the next two weeks are the teasers for Master's Universe Supergirl. with those to expect it as early as this week. So we're getting some big trailers here, guys. Big trailers. Yeah, really big trailers. I will say, even though I said Master's Universe has now jumped down to maybe outside of my top 10,
Starting point is 00:26:15 I'm still very much looking forward to the trailer because they could put it back into my top 10, depending on how the trailer looks. Now, I got it, like I said, I got a, something from someone who had seen the movie, and they already said, listen, not everything was finished,
Starting point is 00:26:31 but they described the tone. And for me, that, that tone is not, is not the way to go in this movie. But we'll see what the trailer does. I'm curious. Supergirl, we know that comes out tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:26:48 A shorter doomsday trailer. and that UFO one. And UFO one, obviously, if you follow me on all my channels, you know that I'm really looking forward to that. Very much so. And I want to see what it's about. It is actually about disclosure, as they said, it could be. And I do think that it, and I'll find out once we see the trailer,
Starting point is 00:27:10 and I could be absolutely wrong, and we'll admit as much. But I think that it's been strategic in how they are releasing these movies. every one of these people that are releasing movies with the topic of the UFO, UIP, are connected to one way or another. Dan Farah, who just put that documentary that we spoke about, The Age of Disclosure, he was involved with Spielberg on Ready Player 1,
Starting point is 00:27:37 and Spielberg has his movie, and then after that comes Kaczynski, who, Kaczynski is, again, in that circle and Spielberg has talked to him about kind of saving movies with Top Gun Maverick and the fact that David Grush is involved and it and then did Colin Javaro of it if that even happens with the Bob Lazar movie. So we'll see.
Starting point is 00:28:00 Those are four movies that could paint a picture. Could just be entertainment. We shall see. But either way, Supergirls coming tomorrow. These other movies are right around the corner. I'm pretty pumped to see it. How about you guys, though? What are you excited to see?
Starting point is 00:28:17 I am I am wondering if there's one in particular that you really want to see the most. Trailer-wise, I'm assuming it's doomsday. I'm assuming. Put your thoughts in it. Let me know. All right, let's do, we'll do like one or two more stories and we'll do questions and then we'll call it a day. Daisy Ridley. So we know that, well, we know that she was announced to be in a Star Wars movie, which,
Starting point is 00:28:48 which Star Wars movie. She'll probably have a cameo in Starfighter, but if she's ever getting her own Star Wars movie, time will tell. But they asked about her partner in crime, Kylo Ren. There was that report that came in about Kylo Ren was going to get his own movie. And that Disney said, no, no, no. Many were caught by surprise in October and Adam Driver and Steven Soderberg revealed the existence of a scrap Star Wars film titled The Hunt for Ben Solo, the project. should have been in development for two years, was expected to serve as a standalone spin-off of the sequel trilogy and followed
Starting point is 00:29:24 Ben Solo, Kyle O'Reyn, after the events of Star Wars, The Rise of Skywalker, Logan Lucky, scribe Rebecca Blunt, and longtime collaborator Scott Z. Burns penned the script, which is said to be complete. By all accounts, the film had progressed fairly at Lucasfilm until Disney's top executives pulled the plug. Driver, then publicly revealed the project this year
Starting point is 00:29:43 in an AP interview. Cut to today, Daisy Ridley, who starred in the Ray, started as Ray in the Star Wars trilogy was asked about the project and revealed she had heard rumblings but was as surprised as everyone else when the news was revealed. I knew a piece of it. I heard rumblings. I have lots of friends who are crew, so things always travel like
Starting point is 00:29:59 that. But whoa, when the story came out, I was like, oh my God, and it was him that said it, right? It was funny because, like, oh, wow, Adam is saying that that's the big surprise of the year. Ridley, who has her fair share of mixed response from the fair base of the films she was in and her own character was written. She said she's been heartened by the positivity that the news received.
Starting point is 00:30:15 I do love when there's a collect of positivity. The way the internet seems to have rallied to try and get it to happen, it's fantastic for all of us. It's good for us to be all united about something in a really positive way. Obviously, everyone knows he was a popular character, but it was also lovely to think, wow, people really, really care
Starting point is 00:30:31 and want this. I just, I like it. I like when people join in forces, excuse the pun, from all around the world, all different sorts of people. I just love that Star Wars fandom is such a huge and gorgeous array of different points of view and different people and the fact that everyone is really behind this thing, I think, is sort of lovely. In a time that is so,
Starting point is 00:30:46 effing nuts for probably every single person on this earth. I think it's wonderful, so I was surprised. Honestly, I felt jovial about how it went down. Really is expected to return to Star Wars in a new Jedi order film taking place 15 years at Rise of Skywalker. George Nelphi is pending the script for the film, which is still an active development. That's the key there. This is, but this is why I like these really. I like, I like her answers.
Starting point is 00:31:09 I like her positivity. I don't think she's wrong when it comes to. It's nice, the fact that collectively to see people on this. the same side and expressing joy in something. It's a good thing. We don't have enough of it. I agree with that. I happen to be in the minority of this.
Starting point is 00:31:24 I don't care that this movie got canceled. I don't. This was not a movie that I was interested in seeing at all. Steven Soderberg doing Star Wars sounds amazing. But just again, somehow Kylo Ren came back, doing it again. Like, Death Needs Nothing once again. It didn't, I didn't care. But I was clearly.
Starting point is 00:31:46 the minority because there's tons of people I had somebody who was I mean PLD PLD was like oh you're the news and I'm like what's the news you tell me I go yeah it's probably good thing that it was canceled um but positivity between the fan base and you in finding a common thread that unites the fan base is always a good thing she's 100% right so it's interesting that why would she know about it if it was if it wasn't her movie so that's fine Anyway, what do you guys make of it? Do you think that this is a, this is a thing that we should have seen that movie itself?
Starting point is 00:32:25 Do you think that because there's another question, I think, though, too, do you think because there has been an active campaign that maybe something actually happens? Maybe they do make this movie? Maybe they listen? I don't know. Put your thoughts in there and let me know. did you guys like Gladiator 2?
Starting point is 00:32:45 It's another one I seem to be in the minority on. I really like the movie. It's got a lot of problems, but I like the movie. So, Russell Crow, where is he? That's Daisy Ridley still. Let's move to the Russell Crow story. Because Russell Crow was asked about Gladiator 2,
Starting point is 00:33:07 and this is his thoughts on what he thought Gladiator 2 lacked. While Ridley Scott's gladiator was an industry-shaking phenomenon, an Oscar winner that became one of the most of the fighting blockbuster of its era, the film's sequel, was it. Released over a year ago, Scott's film was an epic in scale with a fun performance by Zenzel and not much else. Damn. The title earned 462 at the global box office and received decent critical reviews, but mostly to lack the magic of the first. Well, I agree with that. Didn't have the magic of the first. Russell Crowe, star of the original film, gave an interview recently with the Aussie radio broadcaster, Triple J and said it basically was let down by the film having no real moral center.
Starting point is 00:33:46 He said, I think the recent sequel that, you know, we don't have to name out loud is a really unfortunate example of even the people in that engine room not actually understanding what made the first one special. It wasn't the pomp. It wasn't the circumstance. It wasn't the action. It was the moral core. Okay. Crow also confirmed there was a daily fight to keep the moral core of the character with the execs pushing him to participate in sex scenes to the amount. of time they suggested sex scenes and stuff like that for Maximus and it's like you're taking
Starting point is 00:34:12 away his power you're saying at the same time he had this relationship with his wife he was effing another girl what are you talking about it's crazy Scott has previously teased he has ideas for a third one has already done some writing on it um and this is where there are certain times and i think we talked about this from movie i think what was the other one oh Jurassic world right this but i these these movies to me are significantly better than Jurassic Park movies its course quality goes I'll be a two versus six or whatever. But similar to the fact that I am my taste in movies and film that I'll always watch a Jurassic Park movie. I'll always watch one.
Starting point is 00:34:50 I think I've liked two of them out of all of them. I've liked, I've loved one, liked, maybe two of them, and then the rest of them have just been not good. but watch, but, but I always like to watch them in the theater. Gladiator will be one of those movies. They made 40 of them. I'd see all 40 of them. I like, I like these types of movies.
Starting point is 00:35:15 I'm always hoping for these types of movies. And because of the magic of the first one, you're always hoping that maybe they recapture it. It's not easy to do, but I was kind of hoping. But I liked it. I like gladiator too. And I like Maskell.
Starting point is 00:35:30 I thought Pedro was really good in it. I liked the movie. now I've only seen it once I see it once or twice maybe one and a half because my wife was watching it so there are lots of movies that are out there
Starting point is 00:35:49 I guess that's a question for you guys as I was giving that example I saw somebody give their example like scream what's a movie franchise that you know for some reason I don't ever really love these movies or maybe not even like them but I'll go and see them in the theater every time they're out.
Starting point is 00:36:06 And I think Terminator is another one for me because I'm just always kind of crossing my fingers and hoping that it's going to be good. So I'm wondering. I'm wondering what works for you guys. What's the one that is the one movie that you just, you just got to see it in general. All right.
Starting point is 00:36:29 You know, let's do this because we talked about it. And I think now it's kind of like a goof. the Supergirl poster dropped. Let's analyze it. Let's break it down. Let's let's go through every little picture and see what does it mean. Being facetious, of course. All right, so let's get to the poster.
Starting point is 00:36:53 Is that the poster? Yes, that's the poster. She got sunglasses on. It's confirmed for tomorrow. GCC has released the first poster. Supergirl boasts the tagline truth, justice, whatever. That gives you an idea of who she is. I think that's, okay, I get it. We also have a confirmed date and time for the trailer.
Starting point is 00:37:09 We don't know what DC Studios' content is leading to roughly an hour for now. As you write, it's confirmed that the trailer arrives tomorrow at 12 p.m. Eastern time. Okay, so we're probably going to do a later show tomorrow. Probably be a 1230 show tomorrow. With that comes the first poster for the movie and a tagline that states, truth, justice, whatever, clear sign that DC News Woman of Tomorrow has a very different attitude to her cousin's a woman. It's also been confirmed that Raman Dashwati is scoring Supergirl.
Starting point is 00:37:39 It's a good composer to get. Exciting development for movies that's already generating a lot of interests among DC fans. That's for tomorrow's trailer at launch. It's unclear whether we'll be getting an Adventure Doom's Day teaser that will go head to head. If that sneak peek were on the way, you'd think Marvel Studios would announce it by now. Okay. Was that the poster? What I just saw?
Starting point is 00:38:00 It's the poster down here. Oh, there it is. That's cool. Just this, whatever. It gives you an idea of it. Cool poster. It's a poster. I like that they keep the colors in there.
Starting point is 00:38:13 It is what it is. I'm pretty, I'm, I'm pretty interested in this movie. I'm interested to see the tone. I want, I really hope, I really hope that they are able to pull away and say, look, this is, this was my point, though, when I don't know if the same person is in here who was arguing with me about this. When I said, you got to make sure it's not the gun verse.
Starting point is 00:38:33 every movie. Every movie can't be, can't feel like a James Gunn movie. It just can't. You've got to, that's, that's what made Marvel so special is that certain movies had directors flare on it and spins on it, but it was a collective thing. It didn't feel like a Kevin Feige universe. It felt like, okay, this, James Gunn, or Guardians set his tone and it's like, okay, well, that's, if you look at it and you understand James Gunn, those movies, they felt like that. And Superman felt like that and Peacemaker, I think had too much of it. And I think it worked for Superman for what they're doing. But Supergirl with a different director should not feel that way. It really shouldn't. Even if it's continuing on inside of the same universe, it's not going to work all the way through if you do that. I really hope that they change that up. No, I know.
Starting point is 00:39:22 I know. Gun didn't write it. He didn't direct it. And that's my point, though. That and that's what I'm saying is that because of that, the odds are that it shouldn't feel that way. if it does, that's going to be a problem because that means notes are coming in. So we'll see, though, from the trailer and from one of the most revered comic books in recent memory,
Starting point is 00:39:48 the amount of people that really enjoy this trailer. I mean, sorry, this comic book, this line is a woman of tomorrow. I mean, it's one of these things that you just hear so much about. And I feel like they're going to really adapt this storyline and not go too far off of it. But we'll see. I don't know. The poster itself, great. It pretty much represents what we thought it would.
Starting point is 00:40:18 Her with the sunglasses, whether she's hung over or whatever, it may be very different from Clark. And they're showing you that. This is a very, first she's hung over, she got the sunglasses on, she's kind of chilling out in the background,
Starting point is 00:40:28 truth, justice, right. Great. I get it. Now let's see what the, let's see what it is. So tomorrow is the trailer. Like I said, it's dropping at 12 o'clock. So we're probably going to do the trailer first, drop the trailer, put it up, and then Steph and I will do the show right afterwards. So there you go. I think those are the majority of the stories. So here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to tell you guys real quick. about cash app, tell you about price picks, and then we're going to do your questions. You want to keep us on, then we'll do it. You just play on prize picks and now people just say, now they get into it every week. Check this out. It just makes it more exciting.
Starting point is 00:41:45 Price picks has one of the more unique offerings. So of all the sports and markets, price picks offer, it's pretty exciting that you can make picks on fantasy score, free throws made, field goal attempts or turnovers, even. That's the best. I know a couple of players who really. stack up their free thrust, to be honest. My favorite thing about prize picks is picking multiple sports in the same lineup. With the basketball back, you can put Steph Curry and Patrick Mahomes in the same lineup, and you can root for both. Prize picks now has early payouts. If your lineup gets off to a hot start, you may now have the option to cash out those winnings before the game
Starting point is 00:42:19 even finishes. I love how straightforward it is. You don't have to spend a lot of time trying to calculate the payouts. It makes it easy with the payout multipliers. It doesn't matter if it's a simple three times or a big 2,000 times prize picks. Makes it easy to understand. how much you can win. So if you download the prize packs app today and use that code Christian, get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Use the code Christian to get $50 in lineups
Starting point is 00:42:43 after you play your first $5 lineup. Prize picks, it's good to be right. I always get excited talking to you guys about cash app because I always want to talk to the people who haven't got it yet. I'm telling you, you've got to look out for some of these scams that are out there. People fall for them all of the time.
Starting point is 00:43:03 It happens. You look at people, YouTube videos are just exposing these people, right? So you want to make sure that your stuff is secure. The holidays are all about finding that perfect gift, but this time of year, not every deal is actually what it seems. They're scammers that they're getting more creative
Starting point is 00:43:18 and they try to trick people into sharing their payment, info through methods, whether it's fake shopping sites, giveaways that are, they're always too good to be true. Now, here's the good thing about cash app. They have a 24-7 fraud monitoring. detect and alert you for unusual card activity if someone gains access to your cards. Starting point is 00:44:53 It'll be there tomorrow. Jingle all the way with myself and Steph. That drops tomorrow. Friday is Wake Up Dead Man with myself and Sam. And then we're going to, Sam next week, hopefully, her and I are going to shoot a bunch of stuff. So there might be a few days next week that I might not be hosting because I'm going to,
Starting point is 00:45:13 I'm trying to lock in a bunch of different reactions all next week to get in the can. Because I don't know how many days, we're going to be taken off during the holiday season, but, you know, just trying to prepare. First question here is Nathan Drake. We got 19 so far. Now, we need 100 and, I think, 74 in order to beat Mike and Roxy. I don't think it's going to happen. But we'll see.
Starting point is 00:45:39 Who's worse at pronouncing names? JTE or Marlon Wayne during the Globe's announcement. That was brutal. I didn't see the announcement. Is it really bad? I didn't see it, though. Nathan also says you got it all wrong. The best promote out match was Kaiser versus Gucci and age trivia.
Starting point is 00:45:57 It was fun. It was fun. Also when, and you know, that one was really good was was Gucci versus Kaiser versus Emma. That was a really good one too. Also when you said, also when Tom said Kazik Bosman during the nose match, I don't know if I laughed harder.
Starting point is 00:46:12 Um, than during that match. When he had the whiteboard in the middle of it, he said Chad Bosman, we didn't give it to him and they juggles it. It was like, it was something out of a comedy. It was, it was the funny, it was, it was hilarious. It was so funny.
Starting point is 00:46:30 Yeah, it was one of my favorite moments. Wiley, Disney Plus marketing dropped the ball. Percy Jackson, two first, oh, Disney Plus dropped the ball. Percy Jackson season two, the first two Eps dropped today, didn't even know. Did you see the first season? No, I didn't, you know, I know that my daughter was a big fan of the books and she was excited. I think she watched the first season. if she watched season two. I didn't, I didn't really get into it. So I didn't, I didn't check it out.
Starting point is 00:46:57 But it did seem kind of like one of their big shows, surprised I didn't promote it more. Tommy Lee, 1603, do you think Netflix can sometimes be in a way of it getting? You think Netflix can be sometimes being a way of it getting. I'm very eager to hear how it goes in one of the ways we all can. I, I did think you did that on purpose. I think you did that on purpose. You just Because either you did that in purpose or drinking. All right. Corn Emperor. What's wrong with Disney board wanting to sell?
Starting point is 00:47:38 Is Disney not successful? The board needs to change to people who want to make it succeed. I hate their POV. I mean, it's look, we don't know if they wanted to sell, but maybe they wanted to take off. Well, first of all, maybe they were taking off. first and inside that report, we also don't know how serious it was. It just said Netflix was interested in doing it.
Starting point is 00:48:01 And the Apple thing, you know, again, it was a conversation and it wasn't enough to make it happen. It wasn't as serious as like Warner Brothers was ready and dedicated to selling it. That doesn't seem to be the case with Disney right now, right now. So we'll see. Okay. 21. I like that. 21?
Starting point is 00:48:23 Hell, I'll be happy with you. get 50 today. Alan Smith. I wonder our big balls would feel about the total recall double ball kick. There was quite a few double ball kicks, a lot of ball kicks. He's okay, but he's a weird little chipmunk. He likes to get kicked in the balls. It's weird.
Starting point is 00:48:39 Corn Emperor, Big Balls rewatching Alvin and the chipmunks with Sam. So the whole entire movie, pretty funny to do the whole thing, but I don't, I don't know. I'd have to sit off to the side and put him in the chair with her and react to it. it's a lot to not guarantee views. 21 so far. Thank you, Corn Emperor. 21. I like it.
Starting point is 00:49:05 I like it a lot. So any questions you guys want to ask today, anything that you want to discuss? Let me know. Movie man show. Are you going to see sinners this weekend? Now, I've seen it like three times already. I did a reaction to it with Kate.
Starting point is 00:49:21 I saw it in the theaters. I saw it once on on, on H-Gram Max. I don't need to see it again in the theater. But it's a great movie. Corn Emperor. Got my 40X for Avatar 3, but I'm not excited. I guess that's the answer to the question before, right?
Starting point is 00:49:35 That's why those movies are going to make a lot of money, too. Because you're not excited about it yet. You're still going because you want to be part of that experience. Movie Man Shelby, the Lincoln Square Theater on Saturday. It's a great theater. My favorite theater is my key theater. Love that theater. Love that theater.
Starting point is 00:49:50 Corn Emperor, we're missing 200 plus likes. Just hit it. Hit it. Listen to the corn emperor. Nathan Drake. Will you be seeing songs and blues? Saw it. Dug it. I like Craig Brewer. You know what? I needed Craig on the show. I should have reached out to Craig about it. Hugh Jackman, man. Go pal. Support.
Starting point is 00:50:11 Marty Supreme Review, yes. My out-of-the-the-the-the-teater reaction will probably finally drop today for the out-of-the-the-the-theater. And then I'll get a review for that and an avatar up soon. But yes, coming up soon, Ralph. Thank you. I saw a thing that really started shooting with no script, and he and Crow basically wrote it as they went. GoPel says shooting Gladiator with no script. I don't know. I mean,
Starting point is 00:50:34 maybe they had an outline and then filled some things in along the way. Russell Crow had that kind of star power back then, so it's certainly possible, but that's, I mean, that's a risk for the studio. I'm going to see him with him maybe asking for sex scenes. John X. Jackson, John D.X. Dragon, excuse me.
Starting point is 00:50:52 I am crazy excited for Supergirl. Mili Alka is a star in the making and deserves all major praise since House of Dragon. Carra's also a bit more relatable for me than Clark, rooting for this to be a big success. I'm also rooting for this to be a big success. And actually, and this is one of the reasons too. I think it is important for D.C.
Starting point is 00:51:08 to have a hit on their hands that isn't gun. Because right now it's just been all gun. This is really like the first one. This is the first movie that's not him because the next movie will be another gun movie. And I think that was a mistake. I think it needs to, I think you got to like, you got to relinquish a little bit and say,
Starting point is 00:51:27 all right, I control the brand. And I control the brand and I'm going to give it to all these creators and everything too. And lanterns is that. So that would be good too. But I'm rooting for this to be a big success. And I really hope that it, that it does wonders for a million a guy.
Starting point is 00:51:44 She was great in House of Dragon. Great. Nathan, Drake. I get Hancock vibe from Supergirl. Yeah, let's see the full trailer, but I could see that. 100% absolutely uh darth vader's burnt asshole we've become too precious about certain characters recasting aragorn is the smart move plus the aging is wildly expensive i don't disagree with you um the aging is wildly expensive and the movement of the body can be very very clear that it's
Starting point is 00:52:15 not done by a 35 40 year old man anymore right i agree recasting aragon could be the smart move. I don't disagree. But it is the move that if you cast correctly, could be the smart move. The problem is you can't solo this. You've got to make sure you're matching the energy. If you match the energy and you make people go, yep, I believe it. That's Aragorn. Okay. Because it's not easy to do. it's not easy to do in something as I mentioned with solo, and it's not something to do with a character. Like, Omar Epps is a great actor.
Starting point is 00:52:57 When he replaced Willie Mays Hayes Major League, didn't buy it. Didn't buy it. And I thought he was great. His different character. Should have been a different character. Shouldn't have been Willie Mace Hayes. So it's not a matter of being precious to the certain characters in this aspect.
Starting point is 00:53:15 I don't disagree with you that people are precious about certain characters. But in this circumstance, when they're doing a prequel that takes place just a few years before the original, it's part of it's part of it. So a lot of times I agree with your statement and I agree with a lot of your statement, but it's not a matter of just being precious about the character. It's that you're syncing it up to the original. Ralph, when is one battle with Ming on the schedule?
Starting point is 00:53:46 I'm going to see if he can record it tomorrow. I have to when today one of the reasons I was going to take today off was to try to get my schedule in order. But then I was like, you know what? There's a lot of cool stories and I want to, I like talking to, to you guys sometimes when it's a one-on-one. So when I'm going to make my schedule when I get off here and I should have an answer to that soon. Ask me to Mark. Arago 4512, very excited for the new Clayface movie. Do you think they're going to base it off the animated episode?
Starting point is 00:54:12 I don't know enough about the animated episode. But what I do think what gun and his crew in the past, people who are involved they're doing is they are making sure that it's true to the lure and things that have come up with me look at Supergirl um so i think that we're going to probably get something close to it but maybe a little bit more terrifying i don't know maybe so um he follows it up upsetting that they're no longer doing that turtle's last roner movie do you think that maybe they'll sub it out to have another studio do the movie do you think it was a bad choice not to do the movie. Well, they might change their tune now that they don't have Warner Bros.
Starting point is 00:54:53 And they don't have a lot of IP. They might change their tune. I think, yeah, I, that's a, that to me is going to be something you wind up seeing happen. I think that whether they're going to focus heavier on TMNT, if they don't get Warner Brothers, they don't have any IP. So I think they probably might change. your tune. Joyous Romer, May the Force be with you, Christian. I'm finally posting Last Jedi Arrow and Jedi Council playlist. Oh my God. Good luck to you
Starting point is 00:55:25 on that one. Thanks for doing that, I think. Dark Smirk 1. Disney Plus wasted potential with the Willow series, in my opinion, thoughts. They've murdered that. How would you have done with Willow? I love fantasy, but it felt very modern and not fantastic. I couldn't agree with you
Starting point is 00:55:43 more. I took my oldest at the time. It went to the premier screening of it and it's like it there were some things in there that worked and then it just it didn't match that kind of fantasy tone of it it did feel too modern and it didn't it it's like they were following a playbook of what people are supposed to make now and it's like no it didn't work it didn't work at all and nobody and you didn't attach to any characters whatsoever and I remember at one point and there was like I can't remember all the way through but the kids were not likable at all and then they
Starting point is 00:56:17 there was like the one guy, the adult that was like looking after them and he gets killed, they've grown up with this guy. They couldn't give a shit that this guy died. They couldn't, they didn't care at all. It was, there was nobody was likable and it was like it was forgettable. And then, yeah, it was not handled well at all. Joshua Gonzalez's favorite, MC of all time. If in a group, pick the person of all.
Starting point is 00:56:41 Not, I don't think that Big Daddy King gets enough, um, love for what he did. I let to see a movie about him too. Because he was, without him, I mean, he was, he was really holding the fort down for a while. I would say him. Erigo 4512. The only de-aging,
Starting point is 00:57:00 I think they killed it was Rogue 1. Repeated percussion character. Most others are bad. I'm going to disagree with you. I think that the best de-aging that has ever been done, still to this day, is Michael Douglas in Ant-Man. it's really really solid and Kurt Russell's not too bad in Guardians also but I think when you look at Peter Cushing now in that it seems video gameish
Starting point is 00:57:29 I even think that the Luke in the Mandalorian episode that Mandelorian episode definitely not the Manalorian episode in the Boba Fed episode is better than the Peter Christian character. I would say that to me the best one is probably the Michael Douglas one. But it ain't easy to do. Ain't easy to do. Um, okay. I guess that's it today. An hour long show. All right. Hey, sometimes we get hour long show. Sometimes we get longer ones. But we
Starting point is 00:58:07 did a show and we get to talk to each other. I dig it. tomorrow we'll be back myself and Steph Sabraugh but probably going to go live tomorrow I think at like 1230
Starting point is 00:58:23 so like 930 East oh okay that's a Corn Emperor decided it'll be Kickstarter for the show so I mentioned this yesterday Friday is my phone call I did a video and just for people who weren't here yesterday
Starting point is 00:58:37 is repeating myself I did a video video on Instagram and I got announcing like, oh, we're coming soon. Things are coming. Then I got a phone call. Like, hey, let's, we've got a bigger plan right now. Let's, let's hold off. And I said, okay, that's, that's fair.
Starting point is 00:58:52 So I deleted it. The idea is to introduce the director, the producer, maybe someone else that's involved on the stream and then announce our plan of how we're doing this. all the way through because we do have the final plan now. But I can't explain all of it just yet. And I'll do a big announcement for it. It'll be like the full show and everything too. But Friday is my next call.
Starting point is 00:59:24 And what I'm going to ask on the call, I don't have an answer to it yet, but what I'm going to ask on the call is, can we make that happen that director, producer, show before the end of the year? We're not going to launch a campaign probably until January. But yeah, so that's kind of where we stand right now. Joyous Romer, hey Christian,
Starting point is 00:59:49 Doomstay trailer sounds thin on content. What's your thoughts? And I mean, well, first of all, I haven't seen the trailer. And it's an minute and 20 seconds. So, I mean, how much content could be in it? It's a teaser at a minute and 20. You know, I think that if people start looking for excuses, just to say, oh, they don't have a story yet.
Starting point is 01:00:14 It's a minute and 20 second teaser. It's when you get that two-minute trailer of the story and you go, what's the story? That's when it's a problem. But a minute and 20 seconds, what do people expect to see? It's just hype train. The movie's coming out. Cat mom or Jedi. Hey, Christian, off topic. Have a great day. Go have fun. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:00:37 I'm open. Let's see. Okay, now we're at 30. How about that? Jim 1242. Did you read Disney's barely promoting Wonder Man? You know, but here's the thing. You got to remember something. I'm not surprised by this. And I'm not surprised by it because it was greenlit in the time during the Chepec era. And it was greenlit during, let's green light every damn show of every obscure character and everything that we had.
Starting point is 01:01:09 Let's greenlight it. Let's make it happen. So instead of doing a bad girl to it and just they're releasing it. But it's not something that's playing into their full narrative of where they're going forward with the MCU. So they're not using a lot of marketing costs. And if they don't think it's going to do very well and they feel like they're going to hold back on it and say, look, we're putting the show out. When it comes out, we'll give a promotion of it. It does what it does.
Starting point is 01:01:34 I think they're dumping it all in one shot. I think you guys can correct me if I'm wrong on that. So I think that this is just the same thing that they've been doing with the, shows that were lit during that era. So we'll see. Anyway. Okay. So thank you again for being here with me or on Apple Podcasts.
Starting point is 01:01:59 We're on Spotify. Everywhere podcasts are found, everybody. I appreciate it. Thank you very much. And we'll see you guys on the flip side. So I hope all is well. I hope you doing good. And we'll see you guys on the flip side.
Starting point is 01:02:18 Bye.
