Starting point is 00:00:00 Your sales order says one thing. Your inventory says another. Your spreadsheet says good luck. O-Doo brings your business together on a single platform. From sales and accounting to inventory and marketing, visit O-D-com to book a demo. It's O-D-O-O-O-O-com. Early show today on this Monday. Welcome back, everybody.
Starting point is 00:00:20 And if you're waking up with us today, checking this out already. Why is this show early? Because we have a lot of things to do today. one of those things is talk about Marvel and Hall H and everything that went down. It was really the only game in town over Comic-Con this weekend. I mean, some news here and there, but for the most part, that's what everybody was looking forward to. John Roker live-streamed it. Talk about that.
Starting point is 00:00:45 See, if there's any shockers to him. There's certain were shockers to some other people out there, including a new Black Panther. I was right about that wrong about who it was. So we'll discuss that. We also got something that came out of left field, kind of, with Ryan Gosling as Ghost Rider. We'll discuss that. All the Avengers came out. And yes, some Spider-Man stuff.
Starting point is 00:01:12 And speaking of Spider-Man, I'm doing an out-of-the-the-the-the-the-reaction tonight. Sam's going to be going with me. Discussed a little bit of the preview what we hope to see. And speaking of things that people still want to see, the Odyssey. Holy moly. 30% drop. Huge second weekend. So we'll discuss some box office there.
Starting point is 00:01:32 So John Roker is on the show today, and he's doing me a huge favor of doing this show early today, and he's not feeling too good, so we're going to be nice to him. I'm always nice to him. Piltee's a fucking dickhead to him all of that. Anyway, we are coming in, and Pildee tilt his head.
Starting point is 00:01:49 He's like, is it just me? We'll find out today, or we won't. All right, here we go. Let's get into it. It is the show, Krishna-Arloaf show here today. Me and John Roker. Let's do it, everybody.
Starting point is 00:02:03 Did you shit in there? What's up, everybody? Welcome back once again to the Christian Arloff show. Joining me on the show today, man, not only is he coming off of his deathbed. He is also coming in as a conquering hero for real, as he has won yet another week last week. It was John Roker's number one. one. Number two, Mike and Roxy. Number three was Chris Carr. Four was Winston. And strangely
Starting point is 00:02:40 enough, PLD came in fifth place on the member stream. Yeah, that happened. So let's Hey, everybody. What's going on? It's going on up early, not feeling so hot. Badlands is common cold or whatever's going on here. Do you get it at Comic-Con? I guess so. I only went down for one day on Thursday. And I literally didn't even go into the convention hall. I just went down to have with my with my boys there the geek buddies and everybody else and yeah uh when woke up the next day had a tickle in my throat and then yesterday it got uh it started spreading so today i woke up i feel a little shitty but i'm here let's have a little fun uh and let's talk about stuff going on well comcon yeah i don't think you're gonna get the full outlaw today so i want apologize
Starting point is 00:03:21 i'll do my best it works out um so yeah you won again dude another one yeah this new system has been brilliant for you very kind of everybody it's nice that people donate on mondays and you i mean I mean, you won by, it wasn't even a contest last, last month. Yeah, yeah, well, I shouldn't say that. I think Mike and Roxy got close, but if a PILD coming in with somehow on a member stream was pretty amazing. I didn't know he could qualify for that. We didn't, we didn't either until, well, Ron H came into the member stream.
Starting point is 00:03:51 You're not, no one's supposed to donate. And Ron H and someone else put in some stuff there too. Next thing you know, we're like, you know, how pissed off of people get a PLD won that week on a member stream, but it didn't have. But a lot of stuff before, yeah. I'm coming for you. A lot of stuff did happen, though. Especially over the weekend, man, because we got the Marvel stuff, which you knew.
Starting point is 00:04:13 You know, it's so funny because I went, what do we do? We went on. We drove to this town, a nice weekend, well, had a nice Saturday with the family. We were walking around. And, you know, we had a really good burrito place we found in this little town that we were at. And we took the dog who was just, he was being kind of an asshole. But other than that, It was a nice trip.
Starting point is 00:04:34 We had a good time. And I got back and I saw that both you, Campia, real rejects, everybody was going live. And my wife said, why aren't you going live? I said, because I'm too tired. He said, I'm not driving into the office right now to do it. I said, these guys are covering it. It's great. I'll find out the information through them.
Starting point is 00:04:53 And that's exactly what I did. And I sat there and I just kind of watched it on my phone. Because there wasn't really, let's start with Comic-Con first. There wasn't really anything at Comic-Con. the H panel that really stole headlines right yeah not really everything was way everything was dependent on the marble panel and even that some might say some people are like saying it was a little bit of a letdown not a massive letdown but a little bit of a letdown i think it was like half an hour late and it only went for 45 minutes we were scheduled to go for an hour
Starting point is 00:05:22 so there were issues around that um but i think for the for the most part it was a chill con but it was a con devoid of really big news unless you were into the specific shows that they were talking about in the smaller panels, you know, so. Yeah. So, I mean, like I said, it was just, and the Lannage, what's funny is that the Lannage trailer drop, and I saw you did a reaction to that, but I was going to, but right before I was going to, do you get the screeners, right? I haven't gotten the screeners yet.
Starting point is 00:05:52 No, I just got the screeners for it. I'm like, why am I, if I had the screeners for the freaking show, why am I going to watch the trailer now? So I'm just going to wait, and then Sam and I will watch the screeners for that. And I was going to do them by myself. And I was like, no, she's going to be caught up in DCU. Because this is for PLD also. She's coming in today.
Starting point is 00:06:09 We're going to do Masters of the Universe. Then Supergirl comes out tomorrow. We're going to do Supergirl. Nice. So, yeah, so we just, and then I figured she's going to be caught up on DCU. Might as well just keep her in in life for that. She's coming with me to see Spider-Man tonight. You're going to be able to do it.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Say how I feel. We'll say how I feel. It's really touch and go. That's going to be telling you. She could rest. Just try to get rest. You know what I missed out. I am.
Starting point is 00:06:31 afterward it's kind of a blessing that you're going early because i'm supposed to go with geek buddies at three but we'll see if i you can recover and rest until then well good so then we should definitely get john the win today for for coming out here today and uh and really you know doing this for us because he does he wakes up early in general but yes when i when i reached out to him about doing it he was like i'm just not feeling well and i said you know it's up to you and he's like yeah do it and he's here to do it so he's helping out us and helping out the show. We'll see. We'll see. This ain't coming out of bronchitis to defend a title, but it'll be...
Starting point is 00:07:05 That's true. That's your... Well, speaking to which, you know, it's funny that you say that. And I, you know, I'm a one-man band. And again, this is why I actually, actually... He'll do, like, what the fuck you tell him? When it comes up to a lot of the uploads on, like, the Shmowdown channel and stuff, too, right? Like, Luke makes stuff, nails and shit for me, and he does a lot. But when it comes to, like, the uploads and taking them and put them up there,
Starting point is 00:07:28 I'm kind of the one-man band on the Vault channel. So I was getting, how come these aren't uploaded every day now? I was like, because I missed a couple. I was busy and I just didn't get a chance to do it. But we are going to be finally, we just aired Clark Wolf's the decision today. And tomorrow is you versus McCuga, which is really the start of the outlaw. Yeah, yeah, yeah. People forget like how close I was to just, you know, kind of fading out of the competition.
Starting point is 00:07:56 if McCoug had beat me, I would have really been in trouble. Yeah, you would have been in trouble. You would have been in trouble. You would have been in singles. You would have been 0 and 2 right off the back. There was no. And then, you know, you might have still gotten into the tournament. But if you might, maybe.
Starting point is 00:08:14 But I think it was in another spot. Macougar was like. He was like the guy. It was like a nuclear isotope. You just never know what was, you had to be real careful because you never knew if you were going to drop it and lose or if you were going to be able to put it back in its silo and win.
Starting point is 00:08:26 dude at that you don't remember at that time at that time he was coming off of i mean he beat me in the in the semi-flats of season one which is a big big upset and then he barely lost to riley in the finals he was almost there's a there's a multiverse where macuga is this was the first show down champion ever true very true which is crazy um so anyway so the the clark well things up there rokas will be tomorrow so we're getting back to to uploads um and that's it so And it's just, you forget that decision moment, the rogka. You forget like the monumental shit that happened in that. Do you remember that?
Starting point is 00:09:01 No, not at all. I don't remember. What's her decision? Well, so the decision basically, you know, was that Clark Wolf was 2 and O. she was like the next, like the big thing in the league at this point. Yeah. She just, she was new, you know, you had all the old dogs already at this point. J.T. and everybody else two had played in season one in season two who were like,
Starting point is 00:09:18 and JTE reached out to get her as to throw an email to get her as to be his partner. The problem was he was still in a. team with Finsta. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, right. So we found out about that because Clark Wolf told me and then I was like, you know what, let's just make it a segment on the Shmo show. So we did and we kind of called out without your permission to try to get her. He didn't, he didn't need my permission at that point. I mean, I guess we weren't, yeah, we weren't fully like it was like people were trying to form teams and if people would tell me like, that's ultimately what Clark Wolf says. Like, well, Clark, you know, Ray T reached out. You know,
Starting point is 00:09:52 I know we're trying to form teams and everything too, and JT reached out. And I, you know, we throw some stuff up there with whether or not people wanted to or not. And so Clark Wolf called out or basically had not made a decision whether or not she was going to say yes to JTE. So she went out there. We talked to her about it. JTE, we kind of confronted that. Him and Finstock wind up splitting up. McCuga, it gets involved.
Starting point is 00:10:17 Then we see how the wolves is steel form. And then what happens at the very end, because I'm giving like mild spoilers but if you don't know the league it won't mean anything to you but if you do know the league then you'll know at the end JTE is met with what do I do and the Patriots for
Starting point is 00:10:34 yeah Snyder and hit yeah so so anyway let's get into Hall H and what went down because there were a lot that's a hard thing to get into what I saw over the weekend what the Marvel's that
Starting point is 00:10:50 Hall H Oh, it was it? Why people weren't getting in? Oh, no, there was a whole controversy because people had, I think from what I understand, PILD might correct me if you read this stuff, but like apparently people made fake wristbands. Oh shit. That mirrored the wristbands they were given out. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:11:06 I think there was some confusion about it. And 500 people, I think were not let in. Oh, wow. And it was a big controversy. People went live, like, did the press? Did the press stores still work? Is that not work anymore? The press only 10 people were allowed in that were.
Starting point is 00:11:20 Whoa. Oh, because it was a real like. It's another reason why I don't go anymore. It was like, it was so funny because I was looking at, because Ellis was there. And I was texting. Oh, yeah. Ellis was sending me some pictures. And I said, I said, be honest with me.
Starting point is 00:11:31 Do you, is it still fun or do you feel like Billy Madison going back to high school? And he's a little bit of both. And I was like, that's fair. Um, because I really went down for one day, man. I can't do it. I wanted nothing to do with it this year. Not, not for any other reason except not, not for, not for the, you know, I'm sure people had fun.
Starting point is 00:11:50 just it's just not i'm i'm i'm just past it i'm with you man yeah yeah and i saw some other luke sent me some videos that i don't know who this person was but scroll she must she meant she couldn't be more than late 20s early 30s she was talking about how comic con she's a comic con is it's back in the day i used to go when i was a cosplayer and i would go when it wasn't a marketing tool it's like well how old are you 50 it because because it was been a marketing tool since 2005 yeah yeah it's started like i was there yeah 2005 is like the you know the the you know the Revenge of the Sith and all that stuff. 2005 is when the studio started getting involved.
Starting point is 00:12:24 2005 and 2006. So if you're talking 2010, 2010, 2012, I hate to break it to you. You were already there during the marketing time. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Anyway, so people did get in. Some people got in. Yeah. Pretty big. And Marvel
Starting point is 00:12:38 did their thing. So, his motto, talking about everything that went down. Avengers, Dunestay, Ghost Rider, Black Panther Rip, Deadpool. So, Saturday night, Marvel Studios had its first San Diego Comic-Con panel in two years, and it came ready with plenty of reveals, along with another look at Avengers Dooms Day. We learned a little bit about what's on deck for the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the final stretch.
Starting point is 00:13:02 Everyone in the crowd got Dr. Doom masks and capes, but are they like, you know, like 1982 mask and capes? The cardboard things were they actually like legit ones? I assume it would be the... Yeah, you know, those mass-produced cheap ones. Yeah, which helped kill the time when the panel ran late. So that's what you're talking about, John. It ran late. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:22 Okay. Half an hour. Okay. It ran, wow. Every hurry we came out. Do you know what happened there? Why did it run late? The panel before it ran late.
Starting point is 00:13:30 Oh. And I think because they had to set everybody up because the way they did it, they had people in the back. And then they had people in the front and on the side. Oh, man. So it was a whole presentation. And I guess they had to line everybody up and do all that. The fact that it started late. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:45 Was it like a domino's effect? did like the panel before the panel that went late? Is that why? I don't remember. I don't know. All I heard was at the panel before it went late. By five minutes and that caused them to be late setting everything up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:00 See? Even Herbie came out to entertain the crowd a bit before a very awesome trailer has played encompassing all errors of the MCU. The path they chose, the heroes that became, the sacrifices they made across the universe connects all of us. Marvel Studios returns to Holly's the title card reads. Marvel Studios presents Kevin Feigy then came out.
Starting point is 00:14:17 amped about the trailer, revealed there was a lot happening in the world of Marvel overall. At the upcoming TV show's Vision Quest, the panel was going to focus mostly on movies. That's because they're going to do D23. They're going to do the TV shows, which makes sense. Avengers End Game Encore, things began with the re-release of Endgame happening in September. Fikey showed a special trailer filled with scenes from the movie, as well as a bootleg footage from opening night of the crowd going wild in 2019. One movie brought together, so they did a preview there.
Starting point is 00:14:42 Then this happened. We'll talk about this first, and that's Ghost Rider, right? the panel that has first big surprise Ryan Gosling late of Project Henry will join the MCO's ghostwriter coming in 2020. The film will be directed by Deadpool and Wolverine Schoen-Levy with a script by Jonathan Trooper. Apparently
Starting point is 00:14:59 though Gosling had talked about wanting to play the character for years. It was the set of the upcoming film Starfighter where Fige said he saw and loved it where it all came together. Okay, so let's start with that. Because, and I think every article needs to give Josh Horowitz credit for this happening.
Starting point is 00:15:21 Okay. Because this, first of all, he was the one who presented it. They gave him the microphone because he has been pitching this to Kevin Feigy on the red carpet for years. Then he then begins talking to Ryan Gossing about it in interviews. Right. And then Feige again. And Ryan Gossing told him in an interview they had a conversation because of the conversation that Horowitz had with him Harwitz is essentially responsible for this casting.
Starting point is 00:15:47 I mean, he really is. When you look at everything, I told him, I was like, dude, this is incredible. Good for you. Going back and forth to the month. So he should be at the premiere. He should be, he should be at the after party. I mean, and if I'm Ryan Gossing, I'm giving him, I'm giving him 1%. But either way.
Starting point is 00:16:08 He mentioned, he mentioned Horowitz in thanking by you for casting. He said Horowitz on stage. like, thank you gosh. As well, he should have. Because that was, that was an awesome moment. It shows you like kind of just what, you know, social media, podcast, other things can do. And to, for someone who brought up, you know, interviews with Horowitz, you see like the impact that he's got. He's really, yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:29 People are just like talking to him. He's a good dude. Yeah. So that being said, I did not see this coming. Did you know this was coming? Oh, Daniel R.PK tweeted this out. Oh, we did. The day before that he had heard.
Starting point is 00:16:43 that gossip was going to be announced. Oh, wow. Those things are always like kind of like, so I was like, we'll see. And they led with it. And but to Daniel O. Piquet's credit,
Starting point is 00:16:53 he apologized the next thing. He's like, I did not know it was one of their big reveals. I just was saying that they were in talks. I didn't know that they were going to announce it at Comic Con. He was just saying that you heard they were in talks. And so he felt a little bit bad about that, which I appreciate because Scooper sometimes get a bad rap.
Starting point is 00:17:09 But like, yeah, I had a feeling. So when they announced it, it's official. I love it. I think he's playing Johnny Blaze. Some people are trying to say, well, we already had Johnny Blaze
Starting point is 00:17:17 or whatever in the Agents of Shield. Kevin Feigurga, well, fuck about agents of Shield y'all. He's going to do Johnny Blaze the way he wants to do Johnny Blaze. And a lot of people pointed out so well that like Evamendez was in the first film and that's his wife,
Starting point is 00:17:30 Brian Goss's wife of real life. So it'll be interesting to see what he does with this. And then Sean Levy coming in, clearly as it says in the article, Christian, they must love what they have in Starfighter to cast him and Brayette. the director in as well you know you take it with a grain of salt yeah because i'm hearing good things
Starting point is 00:17:49 about it but then you know and i will be up front some of the people i'm hearing good things about it or maybe interweaved a little bit so i'm like so i always take things with a grain of salt i still want to see it but and i even think that it was luke or somebody who wrote to me and said well this means they have great confidence in um in starfighter which ultimately could be true but there's also been times when, hey, we love what we got. With this one, now you're going to do a trilogy, Ryan Johnson. That didn't happen. Hey, we love what you did there with Thor and stuff,
Starting point is 00:18:21 so you're getting a Star Wars movie. That didn't happen. Right. You know, this, this, this. But it's Marvel. So it definitely is going to happen in this side of things. But, or look at Colin Travaro. Jurassic World made a billion dollars.
Starting point is 00:18:35 You're doing a Star Wars movie. Right. That didn't happen. So, I mean, JJ still hasn't recovered from. Right. But again, that's Star Wars, not Marvel. Marvel isn't jumping the gun, maybe, and Kevin Feigey is a Star Wars guy. So he very well might have looked at it.
Starting point is 00:18:54 And it's not like he hasn't worked for Sean Levy before. They did Deadpool and Wolverine. Right, which made $1.5 billion. Yeah, he's done R-rated. Now, here is the question, though, because traditionally you look at, you look at Deadpool and Wolverine, there's some dark. stuff, but mostly it's a comedy. Sure.
Starting point is 00:19:14 Sure. Real steel is kind of, is it drama, but it's kind of like a family themed thing. Adam Project, another family themed thing. Starfighter seems to be lone cub, you know,
Starting point is 00:19:29 lone wolf and cub family thing. This seems a little out of Sean Levy's comfort zone, which doesn't mean it's a bad thing. It just means that it's a different thing. So maybe working to, together every day on set.
Starting point is 00:19:44 And, you know, Ryan Gosting on, I really want to do this. And he's like, well, this sounds great. Let's call Fagie. Let's freaking do it. Me and you and him. Let's do it. Yeah. Possible because you got that kind of power right now coming off of Project Hail Mary and what
Starting point is 00:19:56 you're doing, coming off a dead pole Wolverine and Starfighter what he's doing. That's how things get made. Yeah, 100%. You're right. And it does say something, though, right, that Marvel is still kind of thinking on the fly. You know what I'm saying? Like this. And we're going to get to the Black Panther story.
Starting point is 00:20:11 well like how quickly these things come together in a limited amount of time whereas in the past they've been planning things out for five 10 years this one's more like okay what are we feeling where we're at let's do this let's do that let's have some fun with this yeah and i think a lot of people who think we're gonna get like a we're gonna get an r rated ghostwriter i think you're dreaming i think we're going to have some certainly some darker elements to it but i don't think foggy wants a fucking r rated hell spawn ghostwriter movie So I think there will be darker elements, as you said, like in Deadpool, Wolverine, but it'll still be accessible and Johnny Blaze will still have quips. And a lot of people like that Nicholas Cage movie, he's making quips all over that movie. So, you know, that'll happen. I'm going to, I'm going to say, I think it will be rated R. Okay. I think it will be.
Starting point is 00:21:01 I don't, I don't. But will it be a drama? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Okay. Very well possible. But Peeley brings up a point where Sean Levy is also not.
Starting point is 00:21:11 so outside of the box with darker stuff. He directed a bunch of Stranger Things episodes. He's involved in a stranger right? So I know, I know. But still, but still that is darker than the other movies than he's done. There's still light 80s kind of, you know,
Starting point is 00:21:28 Goonies tones and other things inside of their life. It's like telling me 89's Batman is darker and it's like, yeah, sure, it's darker. Yeah, sure. I mean, it goes significantly darker than his other movies, though. Which one? Stranger things. Sure, sure. So, like, it shows you can go there.
Starting point is 00:21:46 But what I will say, if they go rated or, they should take a page out of Deadpool 1. They should take a page out of Clayface and scaled back on the budget. Because there's no guarantee that Ghost Rider is going to get a lot of people in the theater. Just because it's really awesome. I agree. Look at the fall guy. 100%. And it's also, well, you know, people are going to love them together because they work together.
Starting point is 00:22:11 in Starfighter. And Starfighter is it. Then we're good. Me and you and these people who are watching right now, they know who Sean Levy is by name. Your sales order says one thing. Your inventory says another. Your spreadsheet says, good luck.
Starting point is 00:22:26 O-Doo brings your business together on a single platform. From sales and accounting to inventory and marketing, visit O-D-com to book a demo. It's O-D-O-O-O-D-com. Most people walking around the street don't know his name. They don't know who he is. And they don't know most direct. name unless you're Christopher Nolan, you know, Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scraese, and a few others,
Starting point is 00:22:46 they don't know directors' names. We do, and they're superstars to us, but there's a lot of that don't. So it's not going to do, wow, it's another Ryan Gosling and Sean Levy movie. I ain't going to mean shit. It's a Marvel movie. Doesn't mean shit. Scale it back. Make it a, make it a kind of like blade type of thing and give Ryan Gosling profits. I'm with that. I like that idea. Yeah, keep it simple. Keep it clean. Get to the things you need to get to. And I think this, you know, you've got Werewolf by Not already. So now you've announced Ghost Rider. We don't know what you're doing with Blade.
Starting point is 00:23:18 But I mean, Midnight Sun seems to be what they're working towards. Towards, right? I mean, I like having them. Now, the thing is what they did and maybe they did. And I just didn't pick up on it. It didn't say in the article. Yeah. When are they aiming for this?
Starting point is 00:23:32 Because 2020, 2020, I think. 2028. Yeah, 2028. But they didn't say when in 2020. But 2028 is what they said. If it's 2028, then there's still a way to put, him in Secret Wars. Oh, 100%. Yes. Yes. It was 20.
Starting point is 00:23:45 I think we're going to see all the Midnight Sons in Secret Wars. I think we'll see Blade, Werewolf, him. Absolutely. Okay. So it's 22. I mean, that's shit. Then they're going to have no rest from Starfighter right into this thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Make that money, you know. I saw some people on, oh, go ahead. No, no, go ahead. I saw some people online complaining like, oh, you know, Ryan went from working with
Starting point is 00:24:05 Denisville and blah, blah, to working with Sean Levy. It's like, guys, like, you got to pay bills. You got to put kids through school. And maybe he's having fun. Yeah. And yeah. And there's nothing wrong that he wants to walk away from more outhouse, art house shit that pays him $20,000 and go for something that makes it, makes it millions.
Starting point is 00:24:22 He's got a family to support. Eva doesn't work anymore, hardly ever. So, you know, and she's taking care of the kids. She's doing her job there that she wants to do. And so he's got to go out and make that money and earn that bread and support the household. Yeah. Nothing wrong with grabbing a couple of big, big movies and making some money, especially after the fall guy ate a pillow, man.
Starting point is 00:24:40 I know. It was funny. is also too is he he's getting less of the brunt than like Sean Levy is right because yeah right and Sean Levy is like the fun punching bag right now and I'll tell you I like Sean Levy movies I do
Starting point is 00:24:52 I don't like I'm not like a huge Deadpool Wolverine fan but I enjoy it I will never apologize for loving real steel I love that movie that's a good film love that movie huge and great yeah I liked a lot of stuff that he did with Stranger Things and and what's the other and the other one he did
Starting point is 00:25:11 with Ryan Reynolds, not the Adam Project, but the, what was it, the free guy, whatever it was? Oh, yeah, free guy was great. Like that movie too? So I'm curious to see what he's going to do and what kind of tone it is, but, and it also makes sense to go off what you're saying is not only to make the money, but they're working on a vibe right now, clearly with Starfighter. They seem to have really enjoyed working with each other. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:35 Now they jump right into this and they're ready, just carry the momentum. The momentum is there. carry the momentum. Go from one, you know, Disney project. You're already working within the system to the other. You've worked. It's not, and it's not foreign for Kevin Feige to be working with Sean Levy. They've worked together before. So it's going to feel more familiar. So that's coming out. We'll, we'll see how that works. Then they shifted. They shifted and they went to Spider-Man. And I was surprised and not surprised at the same time that they brought up Spider-Man. I was like, oh, it's a Sony thing. But I was like, then again, they did. show homecoming stuff at one point, and it is their storyline they're promoting. So it makes
Starting point is 00:26:14 sense to come out next week. Spider-Man and Punisher versus Hulk, Fikey then, you and I have been talking about this. We knew that this was going to be happening over a year ago. Fikey then began to talk about the next Marvel movie in December when he was interrupted by John Bernthal. Berndhal pointed out there was another movie coming out first, Spider-Man brand-new day in a week's time. So they played a clip from the film, which showed the Hulk absolutely destroying Spider-Man when a couple of grenades are thrown into the fray, and the Punisher's there to help Spidey. um okay so there's a little bit i don't want to get too much into the scene um but they show that scene
Starting point is 00:26:45 and i mean we can i mean spider man we'd talk real quick about john you may be seeing it tonight you're supposed to be seeing it and i'm going to see it tonight um so i will be checking that i'm excited to see it two kind of back-to-back movies that have been really pumped to see the odyssey and then this um this is going to be for marvel the start because we've been both think this movie's going to make hand over fist. Now, oh, yeah,
Starting point is 00:27:12 Sony's going to see a lot of the money, but as far as storyline and getting fans back on board, they have the opportunity to hit big five times in a row. Yeah, yeah, yeah. This one? Doomsday. Shit, you got a possibility of, well,
Starting point is 00:27:28 you got a possibility now of doing potentially six. Yeah. You got, but now you're going to, you are putting a little bit more of a risk and not as much of a guarantee now. This was different a week ago than it is today. again spider-man doomsday now ghost rider is the can that make money yeah depending on the budget too so that that's kind of like that's your potential risk right there there wasn't one before him and now there's potential but those three movies then you go into secret wars then you got black panther three which we'll discuss in a second yeah and then x-men which we believe is going to come after that that's potentially six in a row if Ghost Rider hits and you can make this work,
Starting point is 00:28:11 Marvel will be back on track in a good way if they can make that happen if they stick with that strategy. If all of them are good, then we're back eating well again as Marvel fans for sure. And that whole, like I said last week, you know, the whole DC thing, it'll feel like WCW beating WWW for 83 weeks and then it was never heard from again.
Starting point is 00:28:31 So I think Maynard tomorrow we go to think Clayface will be good. Yeah. Are you sure? Luke says... Batman part two, but out of that. Luke says Ghost Rider is coming after Black Panther. So that would be 2029 then. What does Luke know? He wasn't there. I was there. You said 2028? Yeah, that's what they announced. They announced the date. If they announced 2028, then Luke, that doesn't, then that doesn't line up. So somebody tell, Secret Wars is 27. Oh, sorry. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:29:00 my math is off. Oh, oh, okay. My math is off. Sorry, Luke, we corrected that. There's some reason I was thinking that secret wars is 2028. He said, we'll see you guys in 2028. You guys are both right. So you're both right. So it's, yeah. So then it's three in a row. And then Ghost Rider.
Starting point is 00:29:19 No, no, then Black Panther, then Ghost Rider. So they still could do four in a row. And Ghost Rider could be five. And then X-Men could be after that. So that's interesting. And then they did this. Now, this is, I'm very curious to where you stand on this. Because Deadpool shows up.
Starting point is 00:29:34 And they did this. And he was walking around the convention as Deadpool. It's amazing. So smart. It was time for Doomsday, but first, the Russo Brothers revealed 16, oh, wait, no, no, it's the Benjus Jim's Day, sorry. Where is it? What? Do they not? They lead into it
Starting point is 00:29:49 with the Doomsday stuff. Oh, they lead into it. Okay. Okay. Got it. The Roos revealed 16 cast members, most of whom appeared. They list everybody who was there, everybody in their mother. Once, everyone made it. It was Ryan Reynolds in a Deadpool costume. After a few jokes, he asked Rus is about being in the movie. They said the movie
Starting point is 00:30:05 was shot, but maybe there was some room for additional photography. I think he's going to be in it. Of course. I hear he's going to be in it. He doesn't come out if he's not going to go. Yeah. Yeah. Finally, before the cast stuff, there's, we'll talk about that in a second. But, yeah, so apparently, yeah, he was walking around on the floor. And then Luke
Starting point is 00:30:21 sent me something. I didn't get a chance to see it, but maybe it was, maybe it was him walking around on the floor. Yeah, it was. It was, and people didn't realize that he was doing it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Now, look, was he playing a little bit of damage control? Of course.
Starting point is 00:30:37 Should he have been? Absolutely. And this is, and we've said this many times over, this is a, what have you done for me lately, business? Right. And people won't, you know, Blake Livey's going to have a tougher time getting back on track. Yes. Ryan Reynolds will not, especially in a thing like this. One more hit movie, one big performance inside of the Avengers things, and no one's going to really care. People still like, I don't like them.
Starting point is 00:31:07 You know, people are still going to see the movie and people are going to laugh at the parts that he's in. So this was a smart way for him to walk around on the floor. But what did you think about the dead? I thought it was great. I thought it was really smart. As you said, damage control. But also, like, this is where he lives and breathes, you know. Whatever's going on with your life or with your relationship, you know, coming back and touch your base with the character that people love.
Starting point is 00:31:27 And people love Deadpool. They can have a separation, you know. And so, and he was very funny. And the fact that he's wearing the X-Force Deadpool costume, gray and black. kind of gets people excited that X-Force is in the future as well, a proper version of X-Force. So that's going to be interesting to see if that's where we're going. Because Fagy kept saying, you know, the X-Men, the X-Universe is going to be a massive part of the new phases going forward.
Starting point is 00:31:51 Right. So it makes sense. And he's already traveled through multiverses and he's already traveled. Yeah, exactly. I think he'll probably maybe have a bigger part than maybe people think. So, all right, we're going to get into the rest of the panel. We're going to talk about a little bit more. but I wanted to talk to you guys about free cash before we did it.
Starting point is 00:32:09 So let me tell you about free cash and then we'll go right back, talk about some other stuff. Thank you to free cash. I'm excited to have them on board. So make sure again, you want to help out the show. That's how you do it. Going to link in the description.
Starting point is 00:32:19 It's there. Free cash. Awesome. Yeah, it's really good. Okay. Yeah, it's funny today because like I said, I'm going, we've got the Kickstarter's going to be starting in September. We've got the guy on board and everything kind of moving.
Starting point is 00:32:33 Yeah. But now I'm like, you know, I've been going to the gym, four days a week, whatever, too, but now, this, for the next 30 days. You look great. Cut it out. We all know you look great. Well, you don't know, you don't know what I'm doing for this next 30 days. What are you?
Starting point is 00:32:45 You're going to be able to be armed? No, it's not bodybuilding. No, I'm doing a real strict, so only for 30 days. I'm doing this real strict diet. Oh, this is essentially going to be the diet for 30 days in the, in the breakfast, is three egg whites, one yolk, maybe bowl oatmeal, maybe a side of, like, wheat toast, one one like piece right okay uh two and a half three hours later is either goat cheese and fruit or um or greek yogurt and fruit two hours later or two and a half three hours later
Starting point is 00:33:18 chicken breast or steak or salmon with spinach or baked potato or sweet potato yeah and then you just three hours later either the goat cheese and the and the you know yogurt again and three hours later, same thing with the meals. And that's, and then a protein shake at night. That's my, that's my diet every day for 30 days. That's amazing. That's a lot. It's going to be a lot. This is going to be a lot. So I'm trying to, that, we'll, we'll see, we'll see what that's going to do. What about sex? Because women weaken legs. I'm not training for a fight. Oh, okay. I'm just training for a role. So we're putting together a video and other things, too, you know, for the actual project, that's selling.
Starting point is 00:34:04 and we'll be, like I talked to John already. He's generous. I'll be on the hot mic a few times promoting it during September. I'll be doing other stuff. Yeah. So, you know, like I said, 13,000 people put in 25 bucks for making the show. It's a commitment.
Starting point is 00:34:19 I appreciate your commitment, man. It's not easy to do. Changing your diet, it's not easy. And, you know, you're going to get tempted and all that kind of stuff. Sure. There's a carrot at the end of that stick. I know. It's 30 days.
Starting point is 00:34:29 It's 30 days. So it was like, me's telling myself, it's 30 days. No tallios for 30 days. No tally. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, let's finish up this panel because we also want to talk some box office stuff too. Okay, so then they showed a new Doomsday trailer, which we kind of thought would happen and that it would be exclusive to the fans. And it's already, I haven't watched it, but it already leaked out as we knew that it would.
Starting point is 00:34:53 Oh, yeah, of course. Finally, before the cast left, there's a screening of new Avengers Doomsday. And I guess one of the things to talk about today, they brought everybody out there. the outfits Pedro Pascals been wearing lately have been I don't know what the hell is going on Pedro's embracing himself that's what I'll say Pedro is embracing himself he hasn't come out yet
Starting point is 00:35:10 but he's embracing himself yeah and then I like him Baku's I like him Baku's look with the Duke great get up I love it great yeah he's the best he's the best so Rebecca remains okay see her see yeah I mean look it looks like that's a full on crew yeah full on crew right
Starting point is 00:35:30 It had a job. Haley Outwell. Haley Atwell was, well, we didn't talk about that because she, there wasn't, you would assume that she was going to be in it, considering the, you know, Steve Rogers connection of it. And then Anthony Mackey confirmed what we've been saying. So people, this drove me nuts. And I'm so glad that Anthony Mackey confirmed it. It drove me nuts. You're like, oh, they're really confidence in, in, in, Anthony Mackey is as Captain America.
Starting point is 00:35:56 So they're bringing back Captain America. I was like, they're bringing back. and they made it very clear. They're bringing back Steve Rogers. They're not going to let him, but we just got this Captain America. Oh, what are we doing? We have some faith.
Starting point is 00:36:08 And it's like, wait. Yeah. And Anthony Mackey said, Steve Rogers is back. Yeah. Not Captain America. And he said that. And he said it in an interview.
Starting point is 00:36:19 And it's like, just wait. Yeah. So we'll say. And someone called me out in the comments the other day, too, which is, I think, fair. It was fair. Okay. They said something like we were talking about, um,
Starting point is 00:36:31 Adrian Hona as maximum. And I said, and I go, if you cast her as maxima, no one gives you shit. Who cares if, when Wonder Woman is right there in front of your face. And I still feel that. However, what was thrown back in my face,
Starting point is 00:36:49 and I think rightfully so is, well, you haven't seen the movie and you don't know how they are using this character. That's true. And I said, you're right. I have doubts. I have serious doubts that I'm going to give a shit about Maxima. To me, it seems more of a putting your feet in the sand type thing. If you're James going to go, no, we're going to make this character cool.
Starting point is 00:37:12 And you could potentially be wasting it. But I'll call it what it is. The audience is 100% right that I could very much say, me, this character cool. I mean, now this character is. somebody who's there. I haven't seen the movie. So I'm, follow my own, uh, follow my own advice. Um, but, but yeah, I do too. And I hope so she is. And I still don't give a shit about
Starting point is 00:37:37 Maxima, but it doesn't mean that, you know, I still haven't seen the movie. Right. So maybe they can win me over, but I'm going in going, I, I, I don't really care. But we'll see. All right. Um, and then they showed that trailer. And again, I didn't watch any of the league stuff. I want to see there about, yeah. Yeah, I want to see a real trailer for it. Okay, so this was, this was the, the big, huge announcement that we knew was coming, like, we at least guessed. I mean, that, that was my big prediction where I was right inside of this was that they were going to end with Black Panther 3. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:10 He said, Black Panther 3 will be announced. It's, it's one of those movies that is probably close enough to it. I was wrong inside of, I thought they would bring Denzel out. That would have been, I think, pretty big. Yeah. He's in the movie, but he probably just, I'm not going to Comic Con, which who's, we're going to say to self. They probably made an offer to him. It's like, I don't want to go. My man.
Starting point is 00:38:29 If I was the guess. I'm a comma comma man. Now, where I was wrong, and I stand by the, from the person that I talked to about this, what's that? To appeal, dude, what the hell is this? Yeah. So when I, my person was, is pretty dead on accurate with all of the scoops that I've gotten and predicted other things that I haven't talked about, other things.
Starting point is 00:38:56 They were in the 990s that dams and Idris was Black Panther. So much so that I wonder if it was a choice between Dayton and David, is it John? David Johnson, yeah. Just Johnson, okay, because people pronounce his name of different ways. I love this casting. Now look, he's a little on the shorter side, but this isn't. this isn't Tavik Bozman's Chachala, it's his son. He's a little shorter.
Starting point is 00:39:32 Okay, fine. Stocky guy, amazing actor. I liked him better in the long walk than I did Romulus, and I loved him in Ron. But what he did in the long walk is to me the checkmark of the emotions he's going to be able to get out of you. He stole the whole damn movie. and then the other thing that I hope happens now too I will tell you that I probably even put more weight on the fact that Cooper Hoffman is going to be in the X-Pro.
Starting point is 00:40:05 Whether or not it's Cyclops or not, but to eventually see him team back up with David Johnson all day long, their chemistry was incredible. So when David Johnson came out, I was like, okay, bummed that I was, A, wrong about Gamson, B bummed because I like Damson. Right. But I ain't upset about it because I really like David Johnson a lot.
Starting point is 00:40:30 So I think this casting is pretty brilliant. Yeah, I love this casting. I never really bought the Damson interest stuff. I didn't think he was that strong in F1. I didn't. So I was like, I don't know. Okay, I suppose you can make it work. Googleer, you know, Google is a great director.
Starting point is 00:40:44 You can get a great performance with a great director. So I was not, it was Damson. I was not going to be upset about it. But when the David Johnson name started popping up more and more, And I think Jeff said it like a year ago that he'd heard that kind of possibility. I was like, maybe. I could see, but he's kind of small. And he's not that well know.
Starting point is 00:41:01 But then the long walk came out. And then Alien Robbins before that. And if I started watching industry, he's fantastic in industry. That series on HBO Max. He's a big central part of that industry. So he's a great actor. And what you see what he's capable of bringing to that role, it's clear that Ryan, if he was going to come back and recast it,
Starting point is 00:41:19 he wants someone that could really, really deliver it. Right. And I think David Johnson has that potential within him. And Figey was watching Sean O'Connell over at, the complicated where he's at, he asked Fagie about this. And Fagie said that Ryan called him up and said, I found my Black Panther. And it was this was months ago. And Fagie said, I didn't know who this was. And so Ryan,
Starting point is 00:41:41 he didn't know. Who to watch and what to see. And that's what Fige came out. That was like, all right, this is your guy. Let's go. Awesome. And that's the other episode. So that movie comes at December 15, 2000.
Starting point is 00:41:51 and 28. So that, so that again, Luke might be wrong then now, because if Ghost Rider is coming out in 20208, also, and this is coming out December 15th, then Ghost Rider ain't coming out, you know, what, two weeks later? So Ghost Rider's either coming out in summer of 20208,
Starting point is 00:42:12 so it might be coming out before Pike Panther, or it comes out in 20229. I think it's going to be fascinating because, you know, when I broke the well we talked about the Hulk Punisher news in the five minutes I also said that from what I'd heard from my source
Starting point is 00:42:28 X-Men is going to come very soon after Secret Wars like three months after which it should. Yeah so it could be the X-Men then maybe May of 2028 right right right or yeah X-Men ghostwriter and then Black Panther that could be the way it goes for 2028
Starting point is 00:42:44 those three were right right right they did say they were going to try to do three movies again So maybe you're right. Nonetheless, so that kind of ended it. That was it. So let me ask you, do you think once again, Marvel showed up and did what they needed to do? I think it was the best presentation you could hope for because of the timing of everything.
Starting point is 00:43:11 They weren't going to jump into the X-Men because Sadie Sink is coming out in Spider-Man next week and they don't want to ruin anything. And listen, some people were like, oh, it's the fans, the fans. Hands wanted X-Men stuff. Faggy said, strap in, we got so much to announce. This is going to, you know, we don't come to Hall-A-Litchell's. We have something big to announce. And I would say, Ghost Rider is fun.
Starting point is 00:43:32 A New Black Panther is fun. Avengers' Dumes Day is fun. Spider-Man, Brady, New Seen, fun. And I don't think there was anything that rocked us. And I think the way he pitched it, it felt like he was going to come in and rock us. So he set the bar. And I don't think he 100% hit the bar. That being said, though,
Starting point is 00:43:49 I think he's a victim of circumstances because of all these things are still kind of up in the air. Sure. And I will say, man, when you look at that poster, you look those pictures of the people in the Ventures. I mean, compare that to Infinity War Endgame cast. You're like, I don't feel the same. So I just think he's a victim of circumstances.
Starting point is 00:44:08 I did think he did the best he could. And it was a fun panel, but I don't think it was a groundbreaking panel or one of their best, I would say. So I think, well, I'll agree with that. I give it a B is whatever. I'll go B plus, but I think, I think that that's, I think everything you said there is fair. The circumstance aspect for sure.
Starting point is 00:44:26 I do think that he delivered on an announcement. I think it's on the fans to think, you know, oh, well, he's saying big things are coming and that means X-Men. People have been talking for the longest time about what are they doing with Black Panther. This is a movie that both. Yeah, right. Close to the billions, you know, their, their beloved films, what he was able to pull off with Black Panther 2 after the loss of Chavrick Roseman was really extraordinary what he was able to
Starting point is 00:44:56 I don't love that movie but I always give it a like a huge pass to what he was what he had to do and how he had to maneuver and people were waiting to see what are they going to do he gave you the answer he gave you the answer said not only are we going to do another Chalah but here's your answer it's not going to be a recast it's going to be the son that we introduced and now everybody knows. So that's an end. We're going to tell you when the movie comes out. So that was pretty big.
Starting point is 00:45:23 They gave the whole cast and everything else too. They gave it an exclusive trailer for Avengers. So that's exclusive for the audience themselves. So if you were speaking specifically to the audience that was there, that delivers, right? Ryan Gosling is a movie star. Doesn't necessarily mean he's a movie star that puts people in, in seats just because he's in the movie. Right. But he's a movie star.
Starting point is 00:45:46 And people generally really like him, right? So having him announced inside, after coming off a potential Oscar nomination that's coming up with Project Kilmerry, with a Star Wars movie coming up, it's a pretty big announcement. Sean Levy, who made over a billion dollars for them in, you know,
Starting point is 00:46:05 directing Deadpool and Wolverine, announcing him. It's, I'm with you that it's not one of their, it doesn't like, if you compare to like the reveal of doom or these other things from the past. Or Loki coming out for Avengers, like... Yeah, but what did that Loki? See, that one... I was in the auditorium for that. I was there, too. People lost their fucking mind.
Starting point is 00:46:23 I was there, too. But the question is, though, what did that really do, minus having a great moment, right? It got us all hyped up, man. It got you hyped up, but I mean, but I mean, as far as, like, it wasn't an announcement. You knew he was in it already. It wasn't an announcement. It was just cool to see him.
Starting point is 00:46:43 Which, anyway, I'm with you. I think that they delivered. And the other reason why they delivered was because they had the benefit of really being the only game in town. There was nothing else going on. There was no other big Hallage panels. Hallage was essentially wasted, in my opinion. I know, I know. But that's why I would push back on you a little bit and say, well, that's the problem.
Starting point is 00:47:03 There should have been competition. I think if there was competition, Marvel would have brought the hammers. Maybe you're right. I just think it's the presentation, right? I'm not saying what they said wasn't cool. I think it was great. My problem is like there wasn't that electricity, right? Even people I talked to who were in the auditorium said they didn't feel that electricity
Starting point is 00:47:20 that usually feel in a marble hall lane. That's fair. That's fair. And so the question then remains, though, for then D23, right? Because they've got Vision Quest, they're going to spend a lot of time with the D20. Yeah, yeah. So, and for everybody who's wondering, Chris Carr is going to be covering D23 for us. She'll be at the panel for us for that day.
Starting point is 00:47:39 So Vision Quest will be covered. Now, Spider-Man will be done at that point. They'll be in week three. Yeah, right. Sadie sync will be revealed. Yeah. 100%.
Starting point is 00:47:51 So then the question then remains because of that, do they do any X-Men stuff at D-23? Now, I think if they, if you're right, and X-Men does indeed come out in, you know, 2028. Yeah, right after Secret Wars. then you should build up D23 in announcement. However, if it's not coming out until like 2029,
Starting point is 00:48:18 then you're really going to wait until like secret wars comes out to not reveal anything. Well, there is another Comic-Con next year. So I think that's where you reveal your X-Men. Because we don't know what is going to happen to the X-Men in Doom's Day. Do they all survive to Secret Wars? And then you ice them. So that's the question because that's,
Starting point is 00:48:39 the question. So how are they setting up the X-Men and Doomsday? The new X-Men. Right. Are they doing anything to set them up? I don't think announcing them a D-22 makes any sense at all. Faggy said Comic-Con is for the movies, D-23s for the TV shows. X-Mas not TV show. So it's like to me,
Starting point is 00:48:56 it put in your, X-Men 97 is a TV show, absolutely. That's a good call. Putting your ideas in the pie and thinking they're going to talk movies. No way. I think it'll be at Comic-Con next year. You don't think any movies? You don't think any movies are going to be talked about? Because they've done movies in the past. for D23. Yeah, I know, but he said,
Starting point is 00:49:12 we're going to keep the TV stuff to D23. So to me, that means like that. Maybe he'll announce Nova, which was a surprise. He didn't talk about Nova in the, in the Comic-Con panel yesterday or Saturday. It was kind of a surprise. Maybe you're right.
Starting point is 00:49:26 So it'll be Nova. I just don't think X-Men news is D-23 is where you go for X-Men news. I just don't. I think you're right. And I tell you that I think that the three things that they're probably going to focus on, I do think there will be movies. But I don't think it'll be anything
Starting point is 00:49:37 like we're thinking with like X-Men. or anything to. I think it'll be. Right, right. Vision Quest will be heavy. Maybe Nova, like you said. Yeah. Announce a new TV show if they have one, right? Yeah, right.
Starting point is 00:49:50 But Doomsday. They'll focus on Doomsday. Yeah. Now, who comes out, whatever it might be? They've done this before in the past. They've shown the same exact trailer before for people who weren't. Yeah, right. And it's exclusive.
Starting point is 00:50:03 So it's exclusive for those D23 people. So for sure. That makes sense because then they'll have, and because they're probably going to do it. And honestly, wouldn't be surprised if Ghost Rider has another thing because Sean Levy and Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Reynolds,
Starting point is 00:50:19 Ryan Gosseling will be there for Starfighter. Yeah, true. So they might do another ghost Rider thing. Very possible. For the D23 people, it's like, yeah, we're already there. We need a little bit more content. So that's a possibility.
Starting point is 00:50:33 So they might just kind of do a repeat of Comic-Con, adding television shows for the most part, which has happened. Which has happened more than once. I'm just very interested, though, in the D23 side of things, moving away from Marvel for a second, because one of the things, you have been to those panels before D23, right? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Fagie, again, was the showman and knew how to present his stuff,
Starting point is 00:51:01 clearly from the Marvel panel this week and everything, too. Kathleen Kennedy, whatever you want to say about her, was not the person that should ever have been doing presentations ever. At like business meetings? Sure. Not at those types of things. Reading the teleprompter. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:18 And wait and just with, there's no energy, didn't seem authentic at all. What is, I'm, this is where I'd like to see where Filoni comes into play. Yes, I've been a critic of his.
Starting point is 00:51:32 But I do think, in moments like that, he can get the audience hyped up if done, you know, in a teasing way. And but not you, the thing with him is you can't treat Star Wars like it's the same property it was 10 to 15 years ago. You've got to understand that you've got to give people a little bit more now. The secret black box thing isn't working anymore and nobody, you are, they are the, they are the B team. they are the D team now when it comes to all the big, um, the big IPs.
Starting point is 00:52:06 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They're, they're definitely back on their heels. Yeah. So the question becomes what you just brought up so well. Will they deal with the reality?
Starting point is 00:52:14 Or will they keep stubbornly pushing the idea that Star Wars is still a beloved brand and very successful and all. And people are looking forward to it. Right. Fake it so you make it. Yeah. That's over. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:28 It's like it's, people know that's not the. case anymore. I wonder if they'll, maybe, maybe they feel like they have such a big movie in Starfighter that they can get back on board, but it's going to be interesting. Star Wars should be the one if Marvel repeats a lot of their
Starting point is 00:52:42 beats, then maybe that's another reason too that they want to give Star Wars the spotlight. We'll see. We're going to move into our questions in just a moment, but before we do, we have to talk about the box office. Because once again, the Odyssey
Starting point is 00:53:00 dominates and not only to dominate, we're curious of what the drop-off was going to be. Nothing. 30% or something. 29%. That's insane. It's crazy. Christopher Nolan is the Odyssey held strongly in its second weekend in the global box
Starting point is 00:53:15 office. The title took in a further 21, 21, 215.3 million worldwide, down just 18% on this worldwide. From its 263 million. Last weekend, 87 million of that was from the U.S. domestic. The remainder from overseas, drop of just 10%. The good news comes as Universal got some bad news. A version of the film was
Starting point is 00:53:35 leaked on this weekend before Universal quickly initiated take down protocols releasing in the copies being removed. Fans quickly looked to the film support by Rick rolling those searches for the copies. The box office hasn't been hurt either way. At present, the film sits at 286.3 million domestically and 640 worldwide after just 10 days. That's nuts. What was, PILD, let me know. What was Oppenheimer after 10? days. Estimates for the movies long-term box office projections have been raised to 1.3 billion worldwide by the time it's done, giving Universal $3,1 billion films this year following the Super Mario Galaxy movie and Michael, which is internationally distributed.
Starting point is 00:54:16 This weekend's Toy Story 5 also became the highest grossing movie of the year so far with 1.022 billion. Let's go to the actual numbers here. As we said, we knew Toy Story was going to hit it. I thought it was going to do a little better than it did, but it still made a billion dollars. The Odyssey, as you see, 639 so far after 10 days, that is a mega hit. Moana, 10 million in second place with 228
Starting point is 00:54:39 climbing a little bit, but we don't know how long we're going to be able to stay with that one. Toy Story 5, as you just said, it's big numbers there. Hades Town the musical, I don't know what that is. Hades Town, really? Made $1 million. It's a Broadway musical. Oh, is that? Okay, Hades Town. Okay, it makes
Starting point is 00:54:55 sense. Especially right now. That makes sense off the Odyssey. Yeah, maybe. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then minions and monsters, 411. That one kind of disappointed, I think. Yeah, it's underperforming for sure. Yeah. So, oh, sorry, Peleley, pop back up. Popenheimer, after 10 days, was globally at 400 million. Wow. Yeah. Wow. Look at that. So, yeah, so this movie is, I mean, look, dude, I told the story. My friend, my friend James was talking to me about his, he wanted to see. I'm.
Starting point is 00:55:29 what james camera yeah he wanted to go see this this movie in iMacs with his wife and oh in new york the tickets were sold out until october yeah right for iMacs um everything around me till through september all the iMacs yeah yeah so um putting this movie in full imax was a brilliant decision overall definitely has added to the to that 600 plus this is the yeah this is one of the biggest hits and not only is it going to be one the biggest hits it's going to be Oscars all nominations all over the place for this movie. This is the movie to beat right now.
Starting point is 00:56:06 Yes. But, you know, we're not even in the full Oscar release season yet, but this is the movie to beat. Nolan's the director to beat. Damon's the actor to beat. Anne Hathaway's the actress to beat. So I think or would she get, she would get best actress, right?
Starting point is 00:56:23 No, no, best supporting. Would she get some best supporting? Yeah, yeah. A lot of people's, a lot of people were battling over that over the weekend on film Twitter. She's supporting, not lead, cut it out. Blah, blah, blah. Yeah, I mean, well, here's the argument
Starting point is 00:56:41 that, and I don't know what the answer is. Right. She's not the lead of the film. She's not. Right. Matt Damon is the lead in the film. Yeah. But she is the lead actress of the film. She's the female lead, for sure. Right.
Starting point is 00:56:55 Yeah. So that then goes, well, what what constitutes like what do you think if you're talking about who the lead is because look there's been other things that and then I would go back and combat that there's no world where chase infinity should have been nominated for best actress she should have been nominated for best supporting actress I agree because she was not the lead of that film Leonardo same thing with Ariana Ariana was no way the supporting actress of Wicked for Good she was the lead of that movie it was her story right so it's just like so that that's a studio what do we think is the best way for our clients to win. Yeah, 100%. Or other, or, you know, and the, the publicist and stuff
Starting point is 00:57:34 too. So, yeah, and then the same, so that's another example. What, what will the girl from obsession? What will she be nominated as? Indy Navarette. Yeah. Right. I don't know. You can make an argument that she's the lead character. Right. Right. Now, bear is the kid's story. It is. But it's like, you, so you can, you can pitch her for best actress. you can pitch her for best supporting. Yeah. If she goes up again, I mean, she's not, she's not, a nomination enough, should be enough for her in general.
Starting point is 00:58:08 Oh, 100%. She's great in the movie. She's great. But she ain't beaten Hannah Hathaway if it's, if it's against. Yeah. I'm saying this right now. I'm not betting a steak dinner on this one,
Starting point is 00:58:19 but I'm saying this right now. I don't think she gets nominated for anything. I just think, I think there's a bias against horror. There's this populist horror. and I think people are going to push back on that. And I'm not saying I'm right. No, no, no. I'm not saying.
Starting point is 00:58:33 And there's a bunch of performances still to come. I wouldn't bet against. Yeah, I wouldn't put a bet on you that one. But my argument against it, and you kind of just explained what you meant because I would then raise my hand and say, well, Amy Madigan just won. She did.
Starting point is 00:58:50 But she's a lifer in these very, she's a lifer. And that was a little bit more of a commercial also artistic commercial and yeah look there's some really graphic shit in weapons yes there's more
Starting point is 00:59:08 it's a little bit more excessive like my wife could handle weapons she couldn't handle obsession right right right right it's like that kind of stuff so I get your point there but it's still you make it's still one for horror yeah people like Demi got nomin yes Demi Moore Demi Moore
Starting point is 00:59:26 Demi more Demi more Demi more Demi more Demi more Right. Denoverette. Demi more. However, you can't compare it. But box office, with highly critical roles, box office does actually pay merit in the Oscar nominations.
Starting point is 00:59:45 And I think here's another reason why I would combat you. Growing businesses deal with the same problem. Too many tools, too much back and forth, and not enough time. Odu helps bring it all together. It's an all-in-one business management platform, fully integrated from sales and accounting to inventory and marketing, so your team can spend less time chasing information and focus on growth. Whether you're in retail, manufacturing, or service, Odu gives you one place to manage your business. Visit Odo.com to book a demo. It's ODO.com. I'm saying that you wouldn't. Because the Oscars also wants younger viewers.
Starting point is 01:00:23 Sure. and if she's nominated then people will want not not that she doesn't deserve to be nominated right but if you're an Oscar voter and you know and you're an Oscar person you know that you can get some young eyes on watching the Oscars she'll definitely be nominated of Golden Globes to tell you that right now
Starting point is 01:00:41 right right so it'll be interesting here right now the early front runners Julian Moore for the debut Renata Renaud's boy I didn't see that Sondra Holler for Fatherland Michelle let's go back again because I talked to her of you say it again sorry Sorry, these are the best actress front runners right now, according to critics who've seen these movies at festivals.
Starting point is 01:00:59 Oh, oh, movies that haven't come out yet. Got it. Yeah, Julian Moore, the debut, Renada Renzii Fjord, Sandra Holder for Fatherland. A lot of people think that's going to be amazing. Michelle Williams, The Place in Hell, Mikey Madison, Filsherer Rickening. I kind of throw that one out.
Starting point is 01:01:12 Daisy Edgar Jones, sense and sensibility, Leah Sudu for Gentle Monster and Ruth Madly for being human. Now, I understand. Some people would be like, well, Anne Hathaway is not anything. And Hathaway is not even anything. So for Ben, Best actress, though, Anne Hathaway is the frontrunner here.
Starting point is 01:01:27 Penelope Cruz for La Bola Negative, the Netflix one. Marina Dijer Alamo for the Wild Horse 9, Central Holo for Project Tail Mary or Digger. Wow, wow. Samantha Morton for the Odyssey, Parker Posey for Wild Horse 9. All right. It's going to be a lot. So they think, so we don't know yet where Ann Hathaway is going to land. Right, right, right, right.
Starting point is 01:01:45 So she could very well land. She could go either way. I agree, yeah. Wow. It's going to be interesting when that comes up. So anyway, the box office is in, and those are the movies next week. they're all going to be, you're going to see a big drop with Odyssey next week because Spider-Man's going to come in and just do a big swipe and probably going to make like $500 million just
Starting point is 01:02:04 weekend alone. I'm not even kidding. I think it's going to make around. I think I'm going to say worldwide, I think it makes about $505 million worldwide opening weekend. Yeah. It's going to be huge. I mean, the fact that the Odyssey has already gone past Superman numbers in 10 days. 10 days. It already beats it. It's amazing. It's insane. It's insane. So yeah, and then you're going to have that build-up. So Odyssey is going to have, you know, its biggest days, not biggest, but some more big days up until this Thursday. You're going to see some more big numbers for Odyssey. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then, because Spider-Man is Spider-Man in IMAX?
Starting point is 01:02:39 No. No. I don't think so. So it's an infinity vision, though. Honesty's still going to be sold out all over the place in IMAX because it's the only game in town. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know throw this out there. I think the only film.
Starting point is 01:02:54 that is going to challenge the Odyssey is Dune 3. I think no other film is going to challenge the Odyssey possible. Because I think there are some issues with the Odyssey. And if Dune 3 comes out and it's like Return of the King, the Great Capper of the trilogy, and it's an incredible film, I think we're looking at 1917 versus Parasite. There will be blood versus no country for old men.
Starting point is 01:03:16 It's going to be one of those years. Moonlight versus Lala Land where you don't know who's going to win. I just have a feeling that's the only film that's going to come close. I think there will be other films that are nominated for Best Picture for sure coming out in the next few months. But I think Dune 3 is the only one that can match the Odyssey for every single thing that people love about the Odyssey. And you're going to have, I think, characters, female characters that are more fleshed out. Was Zendaya's character trying to get more of the role for it's Pew as well. And so it's going to be interesting to see.
Starting point is 01:03:47 Someone must be explain my take on how they think that I think Spider-Man is going to make $500 million. that's that's it could be 550 million but I think it's going to make 500 what's to explain uh it's it's it's really not hard to explain is it domestically it'll probably do close to 250 to 300 million and then do easily 200 million worldwide yeah um yeah but if that person who is asking it was very respectful and how they ask the take uh how to explain it um if you would like to bet please let me know um okay so that's what we got right now. Oh, so the PLD he sent this also. I guess IMAX China prepares full Odyssey rollout across 800 screens. China hasn't even done it yet. Will it will he get two billion? It's two billion in play
Starting point is 01:04:32 for the other. No, for Vosci? Nah, I think I think one point one is where it taps out. All right. I think taps out at one point one point. But, but now Spider-Man. I still think Spider-Man's looking at 1.5. Oh, too, Billy? Probably. Maybe. Maybe, maybe one point. I said, I think I said, 1.7 is where I said, but if they hit 2 billion, I wouldn't be surprised. Yeah. Okay. So let's get to these questions. Before we do that, John,
Starting point is 01:04:55 what's going on in the channel, man? Oh, hey. It's the John Roker channel. Head on over there. YouTube.com slash John Roker says. We'd love to have you all get aboard. We crossed, what, 42,400, something like that last night. So thank you all so much.
Starting point is 01:05:07 You've come over and enjoyed our content. The Geek Buddies, the Hot Mike, the Spill the Tequila show that we do with me and Winston A. And my reactions and reviews. I don't know if I'll have a Spider-Man out-of-the-the-reaction. We'll see how I feel. I'm feeling a little bit better right now, but it could be fools gold,
Starting point is 01:05:21 and I'll pass out in about an hour. But that's the situation that. Please head over there. And also my podcast is Cinephiles. We just dropped part three of our Oppenheimer breakdown and exploration. That's probably going to be five parts. So it's definitely worth you to listen. We'll be doing that show for 10 years.
Starting point is 01:05:36 So please come and listen to that one as well. Thanks, Christian. Yeah, man, of course. A great show. All right. So let's do it. Can John win another one this week? It would be his 4th July win if he wins again with the last week of July.
Starting point is 01:05:48 That'd be huge. I don't think anybody's won four in a month. He'll be blocking the super chats for boxing. That makes sense. That makes sense. Zachary Cooper, Christian, you blend nicely with a thumbnail in the rain.
Starting point is 01:06:01 Roker looks like he's inside and I wanted to get wet. Yeah. Yeah, that's true. Is that the thumbnail? Oh, yeah. Mike's movie madness. After Alien Romulus and Longwalk, I'm super confident David Johnson will crush it by Panther
Starting point is 01:06:12 and carry on Chavix's legacy. There hasn't been a lot of pushback on him, and there shouldn't be. No. He's brilliant. Yeah. And I'm telling you, yes, I really liked him in Romulus.
Starting point is 01:06:24 But for me, it was long walk that went, yeah, that makes all the sense. The only person who was upset about it, if you saw the photos, it looked like Latisha Wright was not happy that she was going to hand over the Black Panther mantle to David Johnson. Did that true? Yeah, let's look. I don't know. Look at the photo. She's like, maybe just creating drama, but it looked like she wasn't too happy about it. But, you know, it is what it is.
Starting point is 01:06:46 Is what it is. Aid. Awesome. What's up, Aid. We already had a Johnny Blaze in the MCU because of agents or she. I bet Ryan is playing Danny Ketch, who's Blaz's brother, who gets the mantle by finding Blaz's his old bike under extreme circumstances. Well, look, here's the thing, is that it just, from what they asked Kevin Feigey this question
Starting point is 01:07:04 about who he's playing. I'm going to let Ryan talk about that because Ryan's, Ryan's a big, he's a big ghost rider guy. Yeah. So the question then is, is Ryan more so on the John Roker train of thought of like, yeah, they did it before with Nicholas Cage, but we're doing different. different things here. I'm going to bring him in and I want to do the take inside the MCU. Or is he more on the side of the Aiden where he's like, no, they did that already. I'm actually going to do this Danny catch guy. So I think it's up in the air.
Starting point is 01:07:32 Everyone is, everyone's written about it. And they've said he's playing Johnny Blaze. Boris Kidd Hollywood Reporter, variety. And I don't think they'd put that out unless they got that from Marvel that he's playing Johnny Blaze. I don't think he wants to come back to play Johnny Blaze's brother who finds the bike under a table. Like I just don't think that's where Ryan Gosling wants to go. He wants to play Johnny Blaze. yeah we'll see if that's the case and it wasn't it wasn't it Robbie Reyes in Agents of Shield I don't think it was Johnny Blaz
Starting point is 01:08:01 in Asens of Shield so I don't remember I didn't watch that show Enrique Enrique yeah correct it was Robbie Reyes and okay Enrique Amish pulled me out of Odyssey really I loved him What? I loved him in it I thought he was
Starting point is 01:08:18 I thought I was great I'm not really not like a big fan of his I thought it was his best zero biceps he couldn't have done some pushups or curls before filming you're playing a greek warrior hit the gym i mean i yeah i mean sure but i mean we also don't really know his full back story maybe he was maybe he was the guy who helped out with other things too i don't know but he he didn't pull me out of it at all i thought he was i thought he was really like him a lot you know it's funny i have you know bonnie summerville's a good friend and like so last night she was she texted me and she's like um she's like this show she's like she's like she's like she's like she's
Starting point is 01:08:51 like other people who in France for so long and she's been on the show so I mean it clearly doesn't pay attention to anything that I do on in this career she goes she's like oh did you see the Odyssey what did you think and I go I thought it was master's that was great she's like oh because you normally don't like movies like that I'm like what she's like you've never watched game of Thrones before I'm like wait right she's like never watched game of Thrones you've never seen gladiator I go I said do you know you're texting right now said this is christner all And, you know, she did the, oh, just kidding. I was like, you're not kidding.
Starting point is 01:09:25 You're not kidding. She's like, have you ever seen House of the Dragon? I go, just tune to my channel. I left the video, not five minutes ago with the fucking reaction to it. Did you watch House of the Dragon last night? I have not. No, dude, I was fucking wrecked last night. Yeah, I liked it.
Starting point is 01:09:40 I watched it after this show, though, for sure. Good episode. No, go to sleep. Don't watch it after this episode. Go to sleep. Well, I might have to review it with Geek Buddies at 3 o'clock. We're pre-recording an episode. Maybe.
Starting point is 01:09:50 Don't do that. either go to sleep and go watch that movie tonight's going to help your channel aden cossack everyone saying it was robbie yes who got the ghostwriter mantle on screen from johnny blaze she'll didn't even watch the show oh he's dropping knowledge no yeah because i don't watch bad shows i mean i didn't shoot my nuts it was a boring
Starting point is 01:10:09 i show apparently got better after season one but i just was not heard of season i guess i tried to watch that show it was like so cheeseball it was two network it was two network yes yeah tom hanks 4585 react to Nirvana the band movie. I actually heard it was pretty good. I'm not going to react to it. What? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:27 Oh, you know what's on Hulu, dude? Last night, Sadie started watching this thing about, did you see this Charles Manson, like, daughter, granddaughter thing? Do you see this? I haven't watched it yet, but I saw the thumbnail come on. I got to watch it. So for people who don't know, there's this girl. She's like, she's an actress in L.A.,
Starting point is 01:10:43 and she was like, her dad raised her really, you know, just like a sweet girl or dad, like, total, you know, daddy girl and you know the love between the two of them tremendous. Yeah. That dad finds out from his brother that
Starting point is 01:11:02 he never really knew his real father finds out that his father was actually Charles Manson. So when this daughter finds out through that that that was her grandfather, how badly would that fuck you up beyond belief?
Starting point is 01:11:18 Because you, and she does, inside of this documentary, I've only watched like the first 30 minutes of it, but like, she's like questioning, is there evil in her and these other things? And if her blood could do that, is that the case? And like all questions. Then the other thing is too, people now, because she's doing this documentary, people immediately think, because she has to reveal who she is, that they immediately think that it's going to be like a, a piece to try to make him look good, which it isn't. Right, right. Because, you know, she's, related to him. It's like it's going to hurt my
Starting point is 01:11:52 jobs and the line. And I started thinking about it to him like, could you hang out with, you know, Charles Manson's granddaughter? You know what I mean? Like if you were I don't know why I did that to you. I don't want to get cut off. But you know, like it's crazy.
Starting point is 01:12:08 Yeah, I know. I watched a series the other day on HBO Max about the yogurt shop murders in Texas. I think Texas in the 80s. And they finally figured out who it was with an additional episode. And they interviewed the daughter and the guy was a serial killer right they interviewed her experience what it's like discovering that her dad was a serial killer and all this kind of stuff and it was
Starting point is 01:12:28 harrowing so i hear you man i want to watch this next thing i'm gonna finish it for sure because she just started watching her and i'm like that's gotta mess you up yeah no shit yeah um all right let's see next one is tom hanks david jonson is amazing casting super underrated well i don't know if he's underrated yet i don't know he's he's only you know he's brand new do and he's I I think that would act the casting of this would combat that take I think that he's not underrated I think after two movies like that back to the back people are going on we need to get this guy because he's really good yeah yeah um geek load stars 10 jules thank you thank you Michael d I did a fourth watch of the Odyssey and iMacs and I think I'll try it in 40x
Starting point is 01:13:13 rarely has a movie kept me in thrall after multiple viewings god I love the movies yeah you know I still haven't seen it a second time you've seen it how many times john Twice now. I would have gone a third time this weekend if I hadn't been sick. I do want to go check. I got to take my daughter to see. She really wants to see it. Get ready for the 40X though. I hear it's it rips you apart. Like it really messes your body up because they do a lot of it. Yeah. And it's three hour moving. So you get right. Tom Hanks. Roca, Barnes & Noble has an arrow of sale. 50% off. Okay. I'll check it out. I bought my criteria and stuff that just ended the 50% sale.
Starting point is 01:13:45 Mike Trish. Roker got a little feisty when a Super Chatter mentioned steak dinners and the latest the hot. Michael did they? He's never going to follow through on that bet as he? Follow through? Wait a minute. First of all. First of all, Mike's a moron. Yeah. Okay. I mean, regardless, let's say, I have two, I actually have a question for you. Okay. I'm going to respond to this comment, by the way, but go ahead. All right. So the first question, as far as the paying up the bet, if it's a, if the bet winds up, no, let's say that the, that it scores an 88% and does do this again? No, no, that's what he's talking about. I'm sick, man. I'm sick, man.
Starting point is 01:14:19 No, no, no, no, hold on. Well, I'm giving you credit here. I'm giving you credit. Oh, okay. So 88, let's say that it, that the bet is null. It doesn't take away the initial two steak dinners. And if I'm, if I'm there with John. Oh, no, of course not.
Starting point is 01:14:35 No, no, no, right. He's not where I said, let's go to the sake dinner. He's going to do it. He's a man of his world. Now, my question to you is this. Yeah, yeah. So, and I'll let you, and if you want to ratify, I'll let you now. Because I don't think you thought about this.
Starting point is 01:14:48 I don't think you thought about this. What if the movie makes 89% on Rotten Tomatoes? Yeah. It makes a billion dollars. I win. Not I win, but it's nullified. There's no bet. There's no bet.
Starting point is 01:15:00 That's kind of the game. It makes a billion dollars and it's 89%. You're sure you want to go through that. I'm still right that I do. Because Michael was 34% I made a billion. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But which one will be using? Audience score or critics?
Starting point is 01:15:12 Which one would be used? Did we clarify that? You are something else. You were like, Definitely critics because they- You know what? You know what? You tell me. Oh, yeah. I'll think about it. I'm not thinking of straight. You tell me, because it'll fare better for me if it's audience score.
Starting point is 01:15:30 It's true. Yeah. Excuse me know. All right. Anyway. Next one. Aiden, Aiden, can you piss off, man? Can you so, can you piss off? No, leave it in. Go ahead. Michael D. Well, get well soon, Roker. Just got over a big, nasty bug, too.
Starting point is 01:15:45 Yeah. Yeah, I hear you, buddy. It's rough right now. Urwa, Minhal. Saw Odyssey twice now and noticed things I didn't the first time. Like Hamish Patel should have gotten a jimmer sheet before. They're all messing with Hamish now. Lay off Himish, man. I mean, come on. Person of the color who got cast in a damn mood.
Starting point is 01:16:05 Come on now. I thought he was really good in it. I really liked it. I thought it was great. Yeah. Who should ride? That is the best picture I've ever seen. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:16:13 That's good. Do you see like what what he does now? Pildee, do the bubble in, the music. Does he dress up in this thing? No, you'll see. It's actually pretty good, but the back and forth, the left right, left, right up, down. Where are you? Oh, that's good.
Starting point is 01:16:33 It's really good. It's really good. Imagine that's showing up to tell you what's going on Oz. Oh, no. Get me out of here. Give me back to Kansas. Putt shoot, riot. Are you a good bitch or a bad bitch? Just to cheer broke out,
Starting point is 01:16:50 enjoy my avatar. Drink some tea and chill out. the show yes i have tea coming for sure my lady can get help me up ronnie houston thank you ron love the fro bro dig it right michael d love the quality or quantity for marvel press yeah that's so he he essentially said that they're not going to put movies in between these you know secret wars because they want to focus on quality you're not you're not digging that no i appreciate that i just think the other thing he said about like well people are building up the thanos build up way too much in their minds. It wasn't that big of a deal. I'm like, Faggie, what the fuck are you talking about?
Starting point is 01:17:26 Of course, it was a big deal. People loved it. And the rollout was incredible. They're trying to push back on the criticism that there hasn't been a big doom rollout. And I think it's valid to have that criticism. You know what I'm saying? And, you know, I saw Campi's video. I thought Campi made some great points. I totally respect that.
Starting point is 01:17:41 But like, for me, I just, I felt like that was the wrong comment for Faggie to make. And I think fans have a right to feel like the buildup hasn't been, oh, the rollout hasn't been as effective as the Thanos rollout, you know. So that's all. But I like quantity of economy. I'm never going to say quality is a bad thing. KMT. Hi,
Starting point is 01:17:58 new fan here. Hey, welcome to the show. Love the show and all hosts. You've caught us on a really good vibe right now. Luke and I were just talking about this in general. We have, like,
Starting point is 01:18:10 I think we really found our stride now, the show. It's been, it's been good for a while, but I think it's really, I think all the hosts now are in a perfect place, like the Monday show, the Tuesday, Wednesday,
Starting point is 01:18:20 I think we're all in just a really good, vibe right now. Yeah. Oh, it reminds me actually. I got a, hey, PLD, can you reach out to Winston, please, and see if Winston can switch with Mike and do Wednesday, actually, and Mike might do Friday, because Mike told me that he can't do tomorrow. So Roxy will be on tomorrow. I want to see if I can get Winston on Wednesday. Thursday will be Chris, and then Friday could be Mike. I want to see if we can do that. Well, you know, that's the funny thing, though, too. I don't know this. I don't know this Haskell because you're talking about the take because you talked about the Darth Vader take.
Starting point is 01:18:56 Oh, yeah. So I brought it up on our show, me and you on Monday. Right, right. And then Campia had that clip that went viral with Campi was Monday on the show I was actually on. However, people told me, and I'm on doing John's show today, so I should ask him. But however, people say that he's been saying that for a while. If he's been saying it for a while, then yeah. But if not, I said it last Monday.
Starting point is 01:19:17 But it doesn't make sense. To compare Darth Vader to Doom, it doesn't make sense. That was the first fucking movie of a franchise versus a movie who's coming in. That's 35th. Well, no, but it's establishing a villain. Completely different things. I don't agree. It's a perspective.
Starting point is 01:19:31 But you're establishing a villain. And I will say also the other thing is I kind of agree with FICA. I think Thanos was set up with, you know, he looks up, he looks back a little bit in the one thing. No, but then you also had Gomorra. You had mebular. You had the feeling of him throughout the whole. that's not untrue. But I don't know.
Starting point is 01:19:51 I think both sides should be allowed to feel the way. Sure. But I think you can build up a villain in a movie without having to set it up throughout a whole franchise, not television. Yeah, no doubt. No doubt. No doubt. Where road? Do I love for the boys. Thank you. Got to do my real job, and I'm pretty
Starting point is 01:20:07 stoked for Ghost Rider and David Johnson. A Long Rock was fired. It was one of my favorite movie on. It's on HBO Max, if you guys haven't seen it. It's really good. It's really good. Reggie Brown, 9508. They need to give David Johnson to Tom Cruz shoes. He's barely taller than Shuri. But again, it's the sun.
Starting point is 01:20:23 It's not, so it's not the same argument of a character that's been so established that he's a shorter Black Panther. Who cares? Yeah, he's the son. Appuccino's 5'4 and he carries himself like he's 6'8. The Black Panther. Yeah, that's true. Look it.
Starting point is 01:20:40 I'm coming in. I'll be in Wakanda next week. Make sure you're there. Okay. Shui, look out. forever so good next one all right
Starting point is 01:20:55 shoot right have you seen the leaked trailer for the daredevil or what oh doomsday no and I won't
Starting point is 01:21:04 Ronnie Houston 440 Jules unclear thank you Ronnie respect Carlton Runner London calling ahead of Doomstay
Starting point is 01:21:12 rewatching the Avengers movies including Caps movies it really was peak MCU 24 2019 one banger after another. And not arguing with that. Yeah, what it was.
Starting point is 01:21:21 We ate well. Yeah. See? So maybe he, maybe he gets to win. Oh, okay. All right,
Starting point is 01:21:29 so maybe he gets the one. Fine. I still came up with it. Oh, that's true. You're all smart. This is why we do the thing we do. That's right.
Starting point is 01:21:38 Johnson, a fantastic choice for a black panther. Ditto to Gosling. Yeah, it's going to be good. Right on. Aidan, I conceded it that Fiky doesn't care about it.
Starting point is 01:21:47 agent of shield. But there isn't anything that contradicts anything in the MCU. Just make him catch. Cage was too iconic. But here's the thing, Aidan, this is where I'm going to push back on that too. Is once again, because Aidan, you're a comic book fan, comic book movie fan too. If the stronger character is Cage and you need to establish that character. Blaze, Blaze, Blaze, excuse me, excuse me. Blaze, you want to have that character to the new, you know, more. mainstream audience, you got to go with what works in the same way that they did, you know, they kept doing Peter Parker, Peter Parker,
Starting point is 01:22:23 and they kept doing it and even even what they're doing with Green, with lanterns. They're not just doing John Stewart. They're doing how passing to John Stewart, right? So I think, yeah, you got, I don't know, but I think, I think
Starting point is 01:22:39 Blaze is going to be the one who gets, who, John, you know, it's because I'm sick. I'm not getting emotional about this, but like this is, or passionate about this, but this is, you know, Cage is too iconic. You're out of your mind. It was a cheesy film. That goes right a film as cheesy as balls. That's not the thing that Kevin Feigy wants to adhere to. He wants to do a better version of it with Johnny Blaze with Brian Gosselich. So, you know, that's a movie you watch on a Saturday afternoon while you're getting high.
Starting point is 01:23:03 Yeah, it'll be the mainstream audience remembers that too much. No, not at all. They're not like, you know, too protective of it. No, hell no. And that's, and the sequel is even worse. So, yeah. Enrique, is taking a break from Star Wars because you hate the sequence? so much. Sam, I like them. I say finish Star Wars while you're in it. You can cross it off the list. No, no, no. That's not why we're taking a break. And I promise you that when we get to The Last Jedi, I'm going to have a poker face on the whole time as if, oh, this is, this is fine.
Starting point is 01:23:30 It's because I want to get closer to Starfighter because I think that they're going to link up. So I'm taking a break from that. And I might even power through solo next year, possibly. So we're going to do Mandalorian. We're doing Master's Universe today. We're, I mean, well, and tomorrow, I think we'll still going to release Revenge of the Sith tomorrow and then I'll probably release Master's Universe on Wednesday. I don't know. I want to do if you've got a Supergirl coming in. I got to figure that out. I got to figure that out. But either way, we're going to, we'll, I'll get to it. It's just not going to be this year. Tamera, MCU just dropped their nuts on DCO. I am doom. Nah, not yet.
Starting point is 01:24:07 I mean, it's not, I don't, I don't really think there's a competition for it right now. They're not, there's, it's not a complete buildup. You only have, like, you mean, they don't even have any other movies coming on right now i don't think that it's that boston redsox yankees thing that everybody wants it to be oh no not even close not right now well yankees mits right now yeah late night alum all hail the arrival of of gosh rider it's good it's surprised that nobody else's coming with that mostly wizard could somebody have canceled on marvel hall's eight uh or marvel hall eight last minute and that's why it was 15 minutes short denzel maybe it's possible i mean no you had heard about it but i think it's possible yeah i don't i don't think
Starting point is 01:24:45 anybody cancels on Marvel. Hayden Wilson. Levy also directed some of the best Stranger Things episodes, some of the scariest too. Yeah, 100%. Okay. Saxophone. Boy. Yeah, what's it? That's the Duffer Brothers, right? I mean, Sean was not the executive producer.
Starting point is 01:25:00 No, but he directed. But he directed, sure. Yeah, yeah. Hey, guys, I haven't commented in a while. After Singe Wars, who can the NCU use as their new Cornerstone character like Downey and Evansworth? That's a great question. They don't have, they're going to, I think, I think it's going to be Cyclops. Yes, it has to be the X-Men 100%. So who they cast has to be really good.
Starting point is 01:25:19 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Go, pal. Surprise, early show. Yeah, we did because, like I said, I'm going to do Spider-Man, and then Sam's coming in an hour. And then I'm doing campus show today at three. So I just had a lot going on.
Starting point is 01:25:33 Sean Lilley actually wasn't a director of the whole series. He was the company that brought the Duff Brothers in to do that. Right, right, right. But he's not the directing, the guiding force. That was the Duffer Brothers, I guess is the point. Yeah, they were the main. show runners. Yes, yeah. They were the main show. Their point, POT, you feel for it. GoPow. Gifted
Starting point is 01:25:49 five memberships. Thank you, Goopal. Good job, go, pal. Saxophony boy. Also, what's the balance between the MC-List character movies while still doing movies like X-Men and Avengers? Thanks, guys. I think they stay away from the B-C movies because that was rejected. Yep. Do you stay away from that? It's not working. I agree.
Starting point is 01:26:08 Yeah. Mike Joyce. Someone mentioned that Roka looks like David Krumholtz and Oppenheimer, and now I can't unsee it. Is that usually people compare? you don't i've never i've never seen that or heard that before i do not look like no i don't think you're at all i don't think that's my favorite performance he's ever delivered is in up anheimer he was really good in supergirl too by the way he was good in supergirl right yeah he was god i wish we had more time on that yeah uh neelio good morning gentlemen christian do you happen to fast once a week as well from kneel and kinsic i i don't i just don't know if people have recommended that the problem is i am an absolute monster when I haven't eaten. And I just don't know if I could handle it or want to put
Starting point is 01:26:49 anybody through that. Like it's, it's like I'm like I can admit it's like, you know, hey, when people go, I'm, I'm so and so and I'm an alcoholic. I'm, I'm, I need food. I'm, I'm an, I'm an, I'm like, if I don't, if I don't eat, I am, I am problems. The one and only time we ever fought was a morning when you came in, you were hungry. I made a comment and you lost your mind and we started yelling at each other and you came in and slammed down your beggar you what the fuck is going I said we had it was hilarious is the only time we've ever fought ever but it was hilarious but it was hilarious
Starting point is 01:27:22 definitely because you were hungry I was I'm telling you like if I had it to that point where I haven't eaten in a bit it's it's bad I'm a different person I really is like this the stickers commercial I'm hungry it's bad it's bad like my wife will say me she's like I am not going anywhere with you until you've eaten it's bad um loving Oppenheimer on the center fellow's damp killing would have been perfect some dug developer um killian would have been perfect doom in my opinion he had that odd luck the voice in the same age as as pedro yeah i mean he would have been good he would have been good yeah but i think
Starting point is 01:27:57 we would have gone with killian if they were on a run if they were on a run they had gone with killian possibly but because they needed to get people back excited about marvel they went to rdj i think that's the whole reason he's a good actor but i think that's the whole reason Yeah, he's, they're going to have to link it back. And, and Chris Evans is another reason why they got, like you said, they got him back because, you know, hey, we got to say it was, it was a, it was a good, it was bait, good bait. Nathan Drake, I wonder if Gossin will play Johnny with his usual Gosselin comedy like Project Hail Mary or go darker like the comic. I don't think Ghost Rider should be funny. I agree with you.
Starting point is 01:28:38 I like him to go darker. Are you hearing different, John? No, I'm just saying I think he's going to go to Project Tale Mary around 100%. Way secret. Are you? Good morning, fellas. John, on yourselves, I thought I saw the book, The Devils from Joe Abercrombie, amazing story. Any news on James Cameron's film adaptation?
Starting point is 01:28:57 Keep up the amazing content, guys. I never hold my breath for James Cameron projects because there's so many projects he's talked about or wanted to do, but he makes one movie every 35 years. You know, so it's like, yeah. I don't know. Are they going to do another avatar movie? Are they going to do that? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:29:15 That's what I think. He has to figure out the avatar stuff before he moves on to that. Yeah. John's already doing pretty well here. Can he take, look at this. Tim Simpton. Thank you, too. This could get John, can John get his fourth victory in July?
Starting point is 01:29:26 It's possible. After seeing it three times, I want to say that the sweeping, that sweeping the B.S. Criticism aside from the Odyssey, the reasonable ones from historians and mythology experts about how it's still inaccurate in the writing, historical setting, and not using new faces of Greek descent. dissent our affair um sure sure um and and i think but i just didn't give a shit because it was a
Starting point is 01:29:50 you know it was a fantasy in general but i could also see there's there's arguments to be made for it if it's done in a way that you're making points and you're making actual points you're not insulting people i i don't think that you should automatically go well if you don't if you don't think that um so-and-so should have been in this and it should have been all in Greek, then you're racist. I don't think that's, I don't think that's true. I think there's a way to present that argument that you feel that especially if you're Greek and you felt like this is a thing that you wanted a representation for all Greeks. I don't think it's a unfair thing to say. I think you should have, have a debate about it and have conversations. I didn't have an issue with it. I'm not Greek. Yeah. I like the casting,
Starting point is 01:30:37 but, you know, then again, other people do it. I think there's a, a way to do it instead of insulting people and adding to the argument that you indeed could be you know discriminating against people because they were cast in the way that you present it. Right. That's the difference. Good faith arguments, no problem. Bad faith arguments meant to push an agenda that is transphobic or racist or whatever. That's no business being in the conversation.
Starting point is 01:31:06 Yeah. But there needs to be, but you would also, and you would. and I've had this conversation. There are times of people you can have that. If I brought that up to you in a conversation, you wouldn't say, oh, it's because you're racist. You're going to, well, wait, hold on. No, no. Explain your argument and do that. But there are people that if you automatically, you say, I've seen this, like, well, if you don't, if you don't think Lapida should have been Helen and Troy, then you're racist. That's not accurate all the time. Now there's a lot of people that that is accurate. Right. But if you're like, well, wait a minute, my reasoning is because of this.
Starting point is 01:31:38 And if it's a sound argument where you don't agree with, and it's still a sound argument, that person isn't racist. It's a conversation, it's opinion. Now, like I said, there are many people who didn't even have the conversation about it and just said, she black, didn't want her in. It doesn't make sense. That's racist. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:56 And so, but I think that you also have to be able, in order for both, for your side to be taken seriously, you have to actually listen to what the person is saying and say, okay, understand. the argument don't agree with it but here's why and go back the responsibility is on both sides presented in a way that's accessible and then hear the person out yeah 100% um okay wiley oFC just watched malcolm x for the first time what a powerful film roca enjoying the seven hour cinnophiles uh episode currently at hour four wow that's cool seven hours yeah there was a lot to break down in that seven hours yeah multiple parts wow dude wow wow congratulations.
Starting point is 01:32:40 Fake Scott Summers. Jonathan Trooper is confirmed to be writing, Ghost Rider. He did Starfighter also, didn't he? He was read some dark, dramatic material with Banshee and Warrior. Did he do Starfighter? Am I wrong? So we might have something he did?
Starting point is 01:32:54 He did? Okay. So he might have something different. Who knows? That also gives me hope with Starfighter. Yeah, possibly. Yeah. Tim Sim.
Starting point is 01:33:02 That said, it's agreed. No one's take is very entertaining and technically, well done, and I hope it greets new folks. to the deeper meaning of the Odyssey mythology in the movie adapted it from. Okay, fair points, Tim. He follows up. Also, Black Panther 3 being shot on film
Starting point is 01:33:16 for the first time since Phase 1, MCU. Is that true? Wow. Yeah. Ryan Kuger really has clout now. Yeah. Of course he doesn't. He does. He doesn't do it his way. Yeah. Guy hasn't missed. Yes. Everything he's done. He hasn't missed. Trey Porter, Odyssey has made more money
Starting point is 01:33:31 in the second weekend than the opening weekend for Oppenheimer domestically. There you go. Crazy. It's an oldest grossing movie soon. Yeah. So Oppenheimer did what, 900 and it'll be, it'll be, it'll be Nolan's first billion dollar movie. Yeah. Yeah. I think so for sure. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:33:46 Tim Sim also, we did that one. Space Jesus. I wasn't a big fan of Kevin Feige's comments about the build of of Thanos. There you go. Neither was John. And Doom. How will Black Panther son work since the last time we saw him? He was six.
Starting point is 01:33:57 I think he doesn't need a time jump. I think they said, I think Ryan Cougar said that. Yeah. Ryan Cougar said. I don't. I don't. I don't. He's such a good actor.
Starting point is 01:34:06 Yeah. I don't give a shit what you do to make him be Black Panther. Just get it done. And anybody who's holding on to, the timing and the mythology does not fit in line up. Shut up. Just shut up. We have a great actor coming in to play this character.
Starting point is 01:34:21 You want to have a new Black Panther. Let's just go forward, you know? Yes, but I do think there's a fair question to be asked of, can you explain it to me of why he was a kid and now he's an adult? Otherwise, it's Rocky Five. gets off the plane he's Rocky 4 he gets up the plane he's 10 years ago he comes back because he's 15 years old how long he was in Russia
Starting point is 01:34:40 so like you got to explain like what happened and you can do that with the time jumps right I just don't get hung up on the explanation no don't get hung up on it but you should be you got to have some kind of announcement Tim Miller 440 Jules Uncleard thank you so much Fiona George
Starting point is 01:34:56 apparently Ryan Cougar saw David Johnson in a long walk and thought he'd be a good black panther from that I get it that's that's what that's what I would look at say immediately 100%. And you tell her Joy as Leah should be in line for awards if Denise stays
Starting point is 01:35:40 anywhere near the books, but he's been messing with Chinese role for the first two volumes. Goel's a big Dune guy. He knows like all this stuff. To me, I don't care about any of that because I didn't read the books. I just fell in love with Dune 1 and 2.
Starting point is 01:35:55 So I'm curious to see what he does with this one. Alexander Wilson, some of the box office trackers, I follow. Their models have honesty making 1.5. or close to it. It still has an open in China, Korea, or Japan. I mean, that's a lot. 1.5 is massive. I still think 1.1 is a win, but 1.5 would be major.
Starting point is 01:36:15 I just want to see what kind of box office Spider-Man takes out of it coming up. I think it's two billy's in play. Two billion for Odyssey. I think it's in play. I'm crazy. I think you're crazy on that one. Yeah, Nathan Drake, the thing that gives me hope for Ghost Rider is the writer. he created Banshee and Warrior
Starting point is 01:36:34 both great genre shows and dark tones why wasn't why am people saying this when he was hired to do Starfighter right? I never heard this is the first time I've heard of this because they wanted the shit on Star Wars yeah Eric Slaby do you think that Hal will die in lanterns unfortunately yes or will he turn into parallax at the end I'm excited for this so especially with the new trailer
Starting point is 01:36:53 yeah I think I think unfortunately they're going to kill him I think it's a mistake yeah yeah Sherlock 277 so Tom Cruise's next movie is going to be of Thunder 2. Is this the right move for Cruz right now? Yes. Yes, it is. Because Tom Cruise has a good game plan. Do something like Digger. Do something like Top Gun Maverick or Days of Thunder 2.
Starting point is 01:37:17 Do something like, Tom Cruise ain't going to have a problem finding his next project after Days of Thunder. And if they can redo it. Now, I do think, and it's the same reason why I think that you hold off on top, Top Gun 3 until Kaczynski is available. I do think that Kaczynski has as much of a hand in the success of Top Gun 3 as Tom Cruise does. Kaczynski showed that with F1. He's making movies like people made in the 90s.
Starting point is 01:37:51 And he's transferred it over to a 2026, you know, this decade, it feels like it fits. I think you try to get Kaczynski to do it. I think, but they already said somebody else is attached, right? Yeah. God, I can't remember the name of the person. But yeah, they're doing it and they're writing it. I think it's a, I think it's a little bit of a desperate move. You know, the last two Mission of Possible films didn't do well.
Starting point is 01:38:19 Yeah. He may get nominated for it. It may win, even, but it's going to be a struggle to do well. And I think he wants to go back to the well and see what's here. But I hope it's a good script, man, because I, I think it's a fun, cheesy movie, but I don't think it's like top gun level, you know, so we'll see. I just watched it.
Starting point is 01:38:37 It's funny because I watched it with Sadie recently, and there was a lot that I just hadn't seen. Yeah, I remember. I don't know his movie as well. That movie is what now I do. But, uh, all right, let's see,
Starting point is 01:38:49 Spidey, this is from Cell X23. Spitey will be the first film made for screen Xx with Midnight Suntz. Will Logan not be an X-Men? Ideas. Idris is Captain Britain and India is Kitty Pride. I think India's Kitty Pride is a good one. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:39:04 It's a good one. Are they going to bring in Captain Brin? I don't know. I'm not sure, right? I think they just stay away from the captains. I mean, I think we had enough of them. Yeah. He's in here.
Starting point is 01:39:20 Yeah, I think we stick away from them. But I don't, I think you bring Wolverine in the post-credit scene of the first action movie. You don't have them in the first movie. Hugh? Hugh, I'm sorry, man. You're not going to be able to eat a cake for like six years. I feel so bad for you.
Starting point is 01:39:35 You think he's going to be, he's going to continue having him? Oh, he's staying as Wolverine, 100%. I think he's going, I think they're going to introduce a new Wolverine and the younger X-Men,
Starting point is 01:39:44 but I think his Wolverine is going to stay on. Like it's the same universe, right? Right. Ralph, 2929, sorry I was out, family problems. Welcome back, Ralph. I'm sorry about you had family problems.
Starting point is 01:39:54 Love the Odyssey. Himish Patel was the only actor playing dress up in the film with the skinny, but why they go? Everybody's going after Himish now. Why's everybody going after him? I liked him. This is like from three or four different people. I know.
Starting point is 01:40:06 Is that like a new thing that everybody's going after him for? This is like mean tweets. Remember that Kimmel thing? Yeah, yeah, yeah, totally. We should get him to come in and read these. I know. John D.X. Dragon, I believe the MC was slowly winning the audience back. Theory, Makum may end up acting as a father, mentor figure to Johnson's child.
Starting point is 01:40:21 That would be great. That would be smart. Respectful nod to his father and the bond that they form. Yeah. That'd be awesome. Yeah, that would be good. They should involve him, Winston Duke, more. he steals the scenes every time he's in him i agree eric slaby you guys interested in cape crusader season
Starting point is 01:40:36 two question what is cape crusader season one it's on prime video it's a batman set in the 1940s and it's an animated series it's an oh okay it's a lot of fun the first season was great okay i'm look i've got the screeners but i haven't watched them yet okay no so i don't i don't know anything about it not that it's you know beneath me i just didn't know anything about it battery. Uh-oh. He hung out with the boys all night. Now his throw it is sore. Feel better Roker.
Starting point is 01:41:01 Take an easy next time, champ. There you go. I love it. Ozzy. Moon Gaza. Do you think DC lost San Diego? They weren't in it. They didn't do it.
Starting point is 01:41:13 Yeah, you got actually played to lose. They weren't in it. If Supergirl had done well, they'd have been there. But no. Yeah, they weren't. I mean, well, they don't have anything to talk about right now. And it's too up in the air with Paramount. You got to find out what's going on.
Starting point is 01:41:28 It's just too up in the air. So, yeah, they didn't have, they didn't, they weren't there. Aidan. Roca and Wado come from the same school of gambling. That's hilarious. Warp Space. With Spider-Man tracking 200 million opening weekend in China and 230 in the U.S., how much do you think you can make global first weekend?
Starting point is 01:41:48 I'm, it's 505. That's my guess. What do you got, John, globally, for Spider-Man this week? I think what you said earlier is possible. 550. 5-0-5? Yeah. 550.
Starting point is 01:41:57 Oh, you're saying $5.50. Okay, that's, I mean, which I wouldn't be surprised. John DX. Dragon. Gosling as Johnny Blaze is literally spot on after the fall guy. Well deserved love. The Robert Danny Jr. Leak trailer has also won me as June. Not spoiling, but wow. Okay.
Starting point is 01:42:12 All right. A little bit more of him. That's going to be the next trailer that we get. Oh, yeah. Probably be, you know what's going to happen, John? Now that we can go back and think it a little bit more, D23, I bet you they show that trailer and I bet you that day they released it online. Oh, maybe.
Starting point is 01:42:27 Yeah, good call. Yeah. Eric Slavey with D-23 around the corner, do you guys think, well, there you go. We'll see teasers, trailers, announcements for shows, movies that weren't at Comic-Con.
Starting point is 01:42:36 Mall season two, nah, I don't think Mall season two is, did they shoot it already? I don't know. I don't really shot it, right? Percy Jackson, I thought that they already did Percy Jackson. They did at Comic-Con.
Starting point is 01:42:48 They did all age by them at Percy Jackson. They have done mall, a lot of mall. They could do a quick teaser because I don't know. Okay, so maybe. well we're definitely done some dialogue for it okay good to know um so maybe percy jackson yeah they'd probably do a little bit more on that for sure soka season two that would be interesting to do that's probably going to be on the star panel for sure you probably have that you maybe a little bit of mall you're right and then um starfighter will be the heavy push that they do and maybe you get
Starting point is 01:43:16 some kind of big announcement of what's coming next maybe with the trilogy right star wars will be the big that that will be i mean it should be what marvel did for for Holly's good That's right. The description has already been leaked. Starfighter trailer is done. They're not saying it's definitely going to be there. But there's a Starfighter that exists out there.
Starting point is 01:43:40 Starfighter will definitely be that. And then they got a lot of stuff coming with the original episode of four coming back in the theaters. The original non-special edition version is coming in February. So that's also going to be probably put there. Do it again Fly out of it was this You got this little Where's my steak tenor?
Starting point is 01:43:59 Come on I can't afford to buy you a steak dinner Oh, where's the feet? Where's the beat? That's good. That's good. All right, so next one after this. Stu Ridman.
Starting point is 01:44:14 Doom doesn't need buildup. That's beneath Doom. There you go. That's good. Yeah. Brother, I'm running out of energy. I'm something you know now. All right.
Starting point is 01:44:23 I mean, I'm in, I'm in. I'm just letting you know. I know. I'll hold this. I'll hold this. Talisha. I need more of that Al Pacino impersonation. You got PLD sitting there with a little bubble coming in and out. Get out of there. Bothering Roker. Roker's sick. Trying to hang on. Hang on, Roker. Almost there.
Starting point is 01:44:45 That's what it feels like right now. Johnny Patrice. I can see Scyclops being a cornerstone at the MCU. It's going to rely on him in that first movie. For sure. Sell X23. Ross Rider will be a mix of driver and fall guy. That'd be cool. That'd be cool.
Starting point is 01:44:58 He's played the kind of roles before. Bobby. With Secret Wars and X-Men yet to come, I don't see Marvel skipping Comic-Con for the next few years. Now, only if we can get D.C. to come back. Once they find out what home they're actually going to, they will. They don't know where they're going to be back next year for sure.
Starting point is 01:45:15 Fake Scott Summers, not to undermine Eroka, but the Duffer brothers have credited Libby and helping them shape the look and tone for Stranger Things season one. Okay. Helping them. Right. Helping it. Hang it.
Starting point is 01:45:25 Not shaping it. Favorite Odyssey scene. Mine was Hades. Oh, the underworld scene. That was a good scene. Circe is still my... Oh, actually, the Sirens is my favorite. So much.
Starting point is 01:45:36 I got to see it again. There's a lot of good stuff. Paul, Hitchcock. Smet's game. Is it racist? Odyssey criticism edition. I might want to play on that if I'm feeling better. Swazi.
Starting point is 01:45:48 Wolf Smith recently revealed he turned down Inception. What is your top... The man of movies, that guy has turned down. What is your top three actors? actresses and turned down eventual classic movies. Oh, man. Jesus. I, you know, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:46:00 I mean, there's, I'd have to go through that list. I don't have the list in front of me. But there's, I mean, the one that always, the guy would just be making hand over a fist was when Matt Damon had to turn away that percentage of Avatar. Yeah. That's the roughest one. Yeah. So that's, yeah, it was the one, Gene Hackman turned down a few good men to do Unforgiven.
Starting point is 01:46:22 But I think that was a smart move. Okay. Yeah. Well, yeah. I mean, and Sean Connery turned down, he turned out a bunch of different things. Who was a Gandalfe turned down to do? It was the, not the event, not Marvel's Avengers. The other Avengers, yeah, a lot of, that's a good question.
Starting point is 01:46:37 Hank Pim, what happened to Sorcercery Rone? Mega level 10. What did happen? What did she been doing? She's still, she's got to be, I bet she's in TV. She's probably on TV stuff. Yeah. Christopher, A.O.2.
Starting point is 01:46:47 The Ghost Rider wrote Banshee. That show was so dark. There were so scenes. There were scenes I couldn't watch. almost as dark as Game of Thrones in some scenes. I'm intrigued. People love that Banshee show. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:46:59 Yeah. I've had a pitch to me for years, man. Yeah. This is hilarious, too. Calvin Patel, stop going after my uncle. He's not trying to be like, Camel on the sauce. Is he really your uncle?
Starting point is 01:47:10 Calvin, I'm curious. I'm pretty sure he doesn't. You never know. You never know. You never know, dude. I had a honky-talk man's son in here once. Nice. That was the best.
Starting point is 01:47:21 But, but yeah, he was a i like hamish i thought he was good yeah so morton hathaway are both supporting nathan drake i don't think hathaway's going to be supporting i think they're going to be supporting i think they're a nominator for best actress oh i think so but fiona george john you know the first dune movie has 83 percent of rotten tomatoes the whole thing about being at least 90 percent and over for this is a bit ridiculous you know i love how this this is what's great right Fiona goes let me let me this is like we see this all the time in our discourse right let me
Starting point is 01:47:52 nitpick the narrative that fits my, the fact that fits my narrative. Here's the fact that Fiona doesn't tell. Here's the fact that Fiona left out, you know, because Fiona does that is that due in part two is at 92% with the critics and 95%. And what did that movie make? 300 million more than the one that was at 80 something percent, which is due in part one. So that's my point. If Dune three comes out, it is over 90% critics and audience. Then I think that audience. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Then it's going to make a billion dollars. So, It's not that, my logic isn't that hard. It may be hard for some of you all,
Starting point is 01:48:25 but it's not that hard, actually, when you look at the thing and the nuance of it all. And that's laid out. Also, you know, it's hard to get 90% of runs, man. Yeah. Nathan Drake. That's the whole point. That's why you can make a billion dollars because you make 90%.
Starting point is 01:48:38 Nathan Drake, Andrew Scott in pressure is still my frontrunner. I don't know. Good. Good film. Which one is that? It's the one about World War II. Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Yes, yes.
Starting point is 01:48:49 I think it's on Peacock now. Okay, is it good? It's real good, huh? I got to see it. It's like a dad movie, man. I want to see it. I want to see it. Go, pal.
Starting point is 01:48:56 Last one for now, John, didn't source you just have a kid. That is, that is possible. That's another reason why Ann Hathaway is in five movies. She's having a kid. You're not going to see her for a little bit. Right.
Starting point is 01:49:06 So, John, you did the thing today, man. 79 questions, a lot of good ones here today. I'm wrecked. You did it. Yeah, Dune Part 1, by the way.
Starting point is 01:49:16 Oops, sorry. There was I thought I had some more here. I didn't just see that June, wait a minute. I just saw GoPal put like a Dune to see. There was something I thought I saw.
Starting point is 01:49:30 Hold on a second. Yeah, Brandon, GoPassus. Dune Part 1 was Dune Part 1 was Day and Date on HBOX. Yes, it's true. That's another reason. That affects the box office. Totally did. Okay. John, before you go, where can they find?
Starting point is 01:49:45 You can always find me at the Roka says, as long as I'm still alive on social media at the Roka says. head on to my channel, YouTube.com slash John Roker says. All stuff going on there. Hopefully, a geek buddies, hopefully a hot mic coming up soon.
Starting point is 01:49:58 And that's it for me. I'm dead. I'm good, everybody. God, I love you. Thanks, guys. All right. Thank you to John for sticking around and doing that. He braved it through.
Starting point is 01:50:07 He did it. Grimbear says, hello, Jen, some good announcement at San Diego Comic Con. I thought it was super cool that Ryan Reynolds was going around as gene pool without people knowing. I like when they do that.
Starting point is 01:50:16 When Walter White did that, you know, when Brian Cranston did a couple people have done that before. So I love when they do stuff like that. That was cool for sure. The CDs, hey, you guys go on D23. No, I was invited. I'm just not, I'm not traveling out there. Chris Carr has been generous enough to donate her time. She's going to be covering that for us, so she'll be on the ground for it. What's both your favorite Spike Lee Jo? That's from Waila. Roka's out. I think Roka's going to say that it's, I would guess he was going to say it's Malcolm X.
Starting point is 01:50:46 I would probably say do the right thing. support for Roka pushing through. Thank you, Johnny. Yeah, he did. He did a really good job. He really did. Okay, guys, thank you for being here.
Starting point is 01:50:58 Really, really appreciate it. And we have a full week. So here's what I think I'm going to do for the Spider-Man thing. I was thinking about this today because it's crazy. If you're looking for my out-of-the-the-the-the-the-the-tear reaction, it's going to drop it like one in the morning tonight. Because the embargo drops,
Starting point is 01:51:17 at that time for the social. Then the regular review embargo drops at 6 a.m. So I think what I'm going to do is drop my out of the theater reaction at 1 a.m. Mine with a special cameo from Sam. Then I think at 6 a.m. I'm going to drop Sam's out of the theater reaction with a few more like kind of like not spoilers obviously but some more um details that she can get into it's almost like a little review for her and then later on in the day i'll put my non-spoiler review up tomorrow so it's going to be a
Starting point is 01:51:57 full spider-man day tomorrow and then i'll probably have to take a little break i still don't know if i'm going to put i got to figure this out with pl d i got to figure i'm going to put masters of the universe um at some point tomorrow and hold on sith he's then i got to put supergirl out of on Wednesday and then I got to push iron lung and maybe push iron lung Thursday. I don't know. I don't know. I got to figure it out. So there's a lot of stuff.
Starting point is 01:52:27 It's a good problem now. R.C. Endgame truly closed the chapter for the MCU. The MCU felt like it ended. I think that's why people feel fatigued after. Well, I mean, definitely close the story for sure. The question is, can they revitalize it? Oh, this is a, we shouldn't talk about this.
Starting point is 01:52:42 You're right. We should have talked about this. Wizard. Spaceball's had a good showing. It did. It did for sure. Yep. Um, okay. Thank you guys. Appreciate it. Thanks for everybody who was joining us here today. Like I said, Sam's coming in at 12.30. We're going to do Master's Universe. Uh, 3 o'clock ESTL. I'll be on John Campia's show today. So go check me out over there. And then tonight, late night, going to be doing that. You know, PILD, should I drop? Should I drop Revenge of the Sith today instead?
Starting point is 01:53:20 I was planning on dropping the unedited right as we ended. So maybe wait? I mean, I'm dropping the unendited today and you can still. Yeah, I got to figure it out. I got to figure it out. By the way, I found John Roker from December. You swind me. You knew what the boy was going to do it.
Starting point is 01:53:40 Somehow you knew it. It wasn't a fair bet. You should just put like the Rotten Tomato score with 91%. Someone should re-edit that with 91% of 2 and 3. Yeah, 100%. Yeah, Ayn, I got to figure that out. I got to figure it out. I got to look.
Starting point is 01:54:00 I guess if I have the time to do it. But now is the other thing that happened. There was an editing glitch over the weekend where they cut out the whole damn thing with the Anakin and his mother. So we lost some of the views on the attack of the clones. but it's back up there now. All right. Thank you guys.
Starting point is 01:54:18 Appreciate it. You guys rule. We'll be back. ASAP. Thanks, everybody. Bye. Did you?
