What's up, everybody? It's episode seven of She-Hulk, new MCU show.
New? I guess newest, the newest, newest show.
How are you? Good to see you.
If you brand new to the channel, you've never been to this channel before, then do me a favor
and hit that subscribe button. Where is that subscribe button? Right over there. See it? Great.
Hit it. Perfect. Thank you. You're welcome. All right, She-Hulk, man.
So, again, if you're brand-new to the channel, give you a breakdown. The first two episodes,
I really liked a lot. I enjoyed it. I thought that that.
it was a good balance. I didn't agree with people when they said, ah, it's too silly. It's, this is
this is not for me. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. After the first two episodes, I thought it was a good
balance between what they were going for with this take in the, in the sitcom world, the, you know,
and the, uh, the Ali McBeal type stuff meets Marvel. I thought it was a good blend. And I thought
that I felt like it was in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. From three on, it's just been a
completely different show that, as I said, and I know people go like, why is there was
say it's not for me. It's not. I don't think it's not for me anymore. Just say it's a bad show.
I don't think that everybody thinks it's a bad show. I think there's a lot of people that are enjoying
this show. I am not one of those people anymore. I'm starting to actively not like the show.
And it's not that just, I'm not one of these people, where's Daredevil and You Daredevil to
make this show good? That's not the case. It's a matter of where the tone is just shifting
completely and it's it's starting to have that same issue that I had that I was worried about
when I saw the initial trailers that that the Thor Love and Thunder had for me. It's just and I say
this and I'm sure and people always write, none of the characters feel real to me and your
answer is going to be well it's superheroes are not supposed to feel real. Well then why does
Iron Man or Captain Marvel or Ms. Marvel? Why do those characters feel real to me inside of this
world? This doesn't. This just doesn't because you're going for comedy. Well, why did episodes
one and two feel real for me. That's, that's all I'm saying. And I'm not telling you, you have to
feel that way. I'm telling you how I'm feeling at the moment is that it almost feels like
the writers were watching the boys and they're like, oh, we should do something like the boys,
but we can't go that graphic with it and we can't get that edgy with it, but let's go with
the boys because there's people, and I know there's people from the comics that are showing up
in this thing, but they're just so silly. And it's like people, I feel like Horatio Sands could
have played the Man Bull character in like,
you know, 1998 and still fit this tone.
I will say this.
This episode to me was better than the previous two.
I thought that it, if any, it was starting to go in.
I was like, oh, maybe they're going to start tying back into this,
the Marvel mission inside of this still keeping the tone.
And it turns into, it turns into a therapy session.
And with the most predictable reveal ever,
who saw Josh being a bad guy except everyone it's like that was that was set up from the beginning
and I'm like maybe they're gonna trick us maybe they're maybe it's kidnapped that's maybe it's
kidnapped and she's and this whole thing she's this whole breakthrough on this guy that he ghosted her
but he didn't ghost her he got kidnapped by these humps that are trying to drug her but no he's the one
who drugs her everybody knew that everybody knew it he looks like a good guy he's he's he's
He's there because he likes Jen.
So, of course, he's a scumbag.
Because he does, because they had to hammer down that no one likes Jen.
And this, and I get it.
I get that this is the episode that she's got a breakthrough.
And that's the whole point of it.
And it's this unruly group that gets it.
And I still think that could have been done in the same, in the same way.
Just not, it just feels, it just feels like a sitcom.
That's what it's supposed to be.
I know.
just saying it feels like the character like when you watch a sitcom and honestly even the sitcom and
I guess that's that's that's the thing so when I watch friends back in the day right when I know if I
watch friends or I obviously know that there's these ridiculous silly moments that are happening
about the show but I believe that the characters are real um so that that's kind of but I will say
this out of all that I thought Tata and Mislani again
Again, her portrayal of Jennifer Walter is great.
I feel like her character is real.
It's just once you start getting into the, gosh, darn it.
Once you start getting into these things, though, like you start with this guy.
And this part of the relationship, I thought was great.
Start out, they're having these great dates.
They're going out.
They're doing these things.
They have this romantic moments.
And this whole setup, this whole thing is like, okay, she's finally finding someone who appreciates her for her.
And this was a sweet moment.
I thought they played it real nice and it was in the vein of the room.
And this part to me was, and this is why I said, I was like, okay, this episode is working for me.
Because then the guy doesn't call her back.
I'm like, okay, let's see what happens.
Maybe he got kidnapped.
And then she's got to go and she's got to find Blancke.
All right, we're tying back into what we did here in episode three or whatever it was.
And I should say, there was a lot of three.
Was it two?
No, it was two.
And I love.
And anytime Tim Roth is on.
And I'm glad that they didn't go with him being, you know, bad and trying to sneak out.
And it's just a, and maybe down the line he does.
I don't know.
But either way.
And I like the idea.
Again, there's a lot inside of this episode that I dug where I think that the idea that he's
trying to help people inside of his little, his little ranch.
And the parole officer is like, get me out of here.
This guy's a freaking weirdo.
I'm gone.
Like I said, there are things inside of it.
I'm like, this is great.
And because that tone, that tone to me fit.
And then this happens.
These two assholes show up.
And I'll say, again, nothing against the actors.
They were told to do what they were going to do.
And it's just, this to me feels like this was some of the stuff that I didn't like in Hawkeye.
It was a lot of the stuff I didn't like in Love and Thunder.
It feels like everybody now has superpowers.
And I know that in the world of the comics, I guess Man Bull is a real thing.
Winston sent me a picture this morning.
I guess he's part of Daredevil's crew or either, or I don't know, fighting him.
I don't know what, something to do a Deerdwell.
I was like, but it doesn't change the fact that the way that they were, like,
they seem like they were at a costume party.
And like, it's like, it just doesn't, I don't know.
I was like, okay, we're back to, this, this is where the tone shifted again for me.
I was on board, it shifted.
She, though, is like, I'm like, okay, let's stick with what she's doing.
And she's bummed out, Josh isn't calling her.
She's, she's trying to figure it out.
And then, like, like I said, I think that what they did that was great,
And we're not great, but at the end of the last episode, they're setting you up,
there's somebody coming after her.
And you get that again, and Josh is part of it at the very end of it all.
But it's like, it's just another one of these episodes of like, okay, trademark episode,
wedding episode, breakthrough therapy episode.
And it's like, that's what the show is.
So when people are like, well, what is this show?
That's what the show is.
So if you're enjoying that, then you're, if you,
if you like that, then you're enjoying the show and I get it.
I understand.
I know a lot of people love the show.
And it's for this reason.
So they just like this kind of kickback, watch this show and say, and I am, and by no means.
And that's what I think that's what the main difference is.
I think that a lot of times, it's if you find people who like the show, don't yell at them for it.
I watch it now.
And every, every time I have been watching these episodes, I'm really watching for Atana Mizlani.
I watched for Tim Roth today as well, because I thought he did, I thought that idea of,
I thought that idea of him working with her.
I think they could have just done that.
Him and her just,
him almost been like a Miyagi type of figure.
And that kind of reverse idea of here's this really evil dude at one point,
who is now becoming like a mentor to her and someone who's trying to get this peaceful thing towards her.
He could have just been the two of them.
You didn't need the vampire and the porcupine and the, you know,
the guy who shows up who,
and I think when they first had that episode,
when the dude that shows up.
And she even says,
you're not going to remember this guy.
Him and his friends try to jump me in an alley.
I remember that that was one of the first episodes.
I think it was episode three.
When I went, uh-oh,
I hope they don't go down in this type of tone.
And then the whole show has been that.
And so when he shows up, it's like, it's no surprise.
He's like, no, no, I'm good now.
I thought it was a sweet moment that they'll work together with her.
And they're like, and they finally go,
just appreciate you or who you are.
I mean, I thought that was sweet, you know, and, but, and, and I'm not going to lie.
I laughed when dude takes his mask off at the end.
There was, maybe you should put it back on.
It stinks in here.
But like, why is he a porcupine for the gimmick?
Where's the deep?
But yeah, I mean, there, there was some, there were some moments that were funny.
It just, it just took me out of the, I'm trying to accomplish because this moment was sweet.
She's just like, look.
man. I'm trying to figure this out. I got this side of my personality that I can like that and
turn it on and everybody loves me. But I can't get anybody to love the real me and I feel like it's
cheating. I thought it was a real moment that I, you know what it was? I think that maybe this episode
had this episode in like episode four or five and like this was one of like it was Blonski gets
freed. She goes to talk to him in four or five. And then we kick into this storyline of her being
chased down by the people who were trying to get her because now you only have like what two episodes
left to wrap this whole thing up and we've been we again it's balance had you been maneuvering
i remember who said i think it was rmb who said it like i think that last episode the wedding episode
was an opportunity for them to blend both where you could have had jen walters being the
the attorney who was trying that case of the apologies apologies guy
and then at the same time balancing it with the Marvel storyline
and I think that's a way that you balance it
whereas they're just throwing in the little
through line for what this the Marvel storyline is all about
like in snippets and it should be I shouldn't say it should be
I would prefer it to be for my enjoyment on it
but that's not the direction that they're going.
Anyway, it's my thoughts.
It's, again, this one out of the last three was probably the better out of the three.
It's just the, the tone's not, is not.
I'm sorry, and people don't like when you say this, but the tone's not for me.
And what I mean by it, it's like, why can you say it's bad?
It's bad for me.
There you go.
The last three episodes have not been good for me,
but people love it.
I talk to people all the time,
and I'm not going to have a conversation on capes and cows on Friday,
and I'm guaranteeing.
I'm having both Eric Zipper, Quo's out this week.
So Eric Zipper and Winston are going to be on.
I bet you they loved it.
People are loving this show.
And it's doing really well.
So, you know, what are you going to do?
Jokes on me.
I'm glad people are like that.
But I don't know, man.
What do you guys think?
I want to know.
Let me know.
Tell me about it.
Did you like the last episode?
Was this the one that maybe you liked better than the other two?
What do you think about the tone, though?
What do you think about the man bowl and the Matador and all that?
Did that work for you?
It didn't work for me.
But I think it's going to, if I was to guess, and this is what I want to see in the comments,
if I was to guess, I'm going to guess that the majority of people who watch this episode
didn't have a problem with those guys and that they liked it.
This is my thing that you guys, if you've been watching me long enough, you know,
with certain bits of comedy and balance and all those things that if it's not there,
I'm out.
So that was the case.
for me. But let's hear from you. So go ahead and comment. And by the way, if you haven't already,
please do me that favor. Subscribe to the channel. It's right there. Peace out, everybody. I appreciate
you. We'll see you in the flip side. Peace.
