Hey, hey, look at this. It's me. It's me. It's PLD.
You didn't see that coming, did you?
Did you shit in there?
What is happening, folks? Welcome to the show. I am your solo co-host.
No, this starts off great. I am your solo host today. It's me. It's me. It's PLD.
This is an interesting scenario. Obviously, you saw the thumbnail changes as we were
moving forward. This has been an interesting chaotic morning. I'll tell you that in a minute.
I'm going to say first off to bat. This is your chance. This is our chance to beat Roka.
This is our chance to beat Roka bad. Imagine if he lost the week to a solo PL day. So get those
super chats in and let's see if we can do that. We could get 50. That would be amazing. I understand.
doing the Kickstarter this month, so I get it.
But it would be kind of fun.
It would be nice feather in my hat since I have to do the whole
Shrek thing with him.
Let me beat Roca.
So yeah, today, guys, is an interesting show.
What happened, obviously, if you guys don't know my normal gigs,
I work overnight as a 911 dispatcher.
I work till 7 a.m. Eastern, and then I come home, and I sleep for a little bit.
and I wake up about 11.30 and I roll out of bed and I kind of get ready for the show at 12 here.
I roll out of bed a little later than usual at 1140 and to a bunch of texts back and forth, back and forth.
They were trying to figure out what was going to happen today.
At first it was going to be Kevin and Christian.
It was going to be early.
Then it was going to be later.
Then it was going to be a me and Kevin show.
Then it was going to be this is what had happened.
Kevin, unfortunately, had a bunch of cool things happen.
And then the job thing happened.
He could not get out of it.
We were trying to make it work.
Unfortunately, it happens.
Sometimes things happen, and that's what it is.
Kev will be back, I believe, as long as I didn't miss the text,
Kenne Kev will be back on Friday to do the games.
So you're stuck with me.
Christian has screenings today, and he's also recording with Sam.
So it is, basically, it's up to me to co-hoote to solo host the show.
I figure Christian was going to cancel,
but he let me go ahead and do it.
Maybe because it's a Star Wars heavy day.
He figures I can handle it.
So do you guys want to help me out?
Greatly appreciated.
And if not, I get it.
We'll stick around.
I'll do the news that Luke sent over.
We'll talk about it.
You guys can throw yourself in the chat.
I'll stay here to answer questions for however long you want me to do it.
Let's see what happens.
Okay, guys.
Yeah, let's get to it.
The first episode, our first news article that Luke sent,
over is Star Wars Episode 10 plot week revealing franchises new leads and plans for Ray Skywalker.
That is from our buddies that comic movie.
Comic movies.
And we got this article that says Star Wars Episode 10 is moving forward at Lucasedom with John Watts,
directing a script from Simon Kinberg.
The movie signals the studio's intention to continue the Skywalker saga in the post,
rise of Skywalker timeline, decision which has split opinions.
As we first reported on the Gazette, early plot details for the movie have leaped, including
with the report from Janet Rubman.
He's learned that Watts's episode 10 will have two leit with Ray serving as a mentor to them.
While her movie isn't dead, it is on hold, suggesting the project, first announced in
2023, has likely been sidelined to continue her story here instead.
Trusted Star Wars Insider Fives Walker has since weighed in, sharing additional context.
Lucasfilm is reportedly looking to cast a male and female lead, likely unknowns, and in their
early tombid 20s. Episode 10 will have a duo leads like Fit and Ray, the Scooper explains.
Her dynamic is very much that archetype, but with a more clearly defined romantic component.
The male lead comes from a harsh orphaned background just like Ray and swept up into the story after being implicated in a killing.
The female leads come from a high society, female lead comes from high society, a perfectionist, royalty.
She and the male are lead are caught up in a big adventure together with her bringing him into the larger world stage of Star Wars characters we know.
Later, they added that the male lead will not be Flynn Gray's unnamed character from Star Wars Starfighter, despite rumors.
about the upcoming movie pointing to him being covering one of Ray's apprentices.
It's certainly intriguing and it will be interesting to see what, if any, link these two have to the wider Star Wars galaxy.
Ray is technically the last Skywalker standing, though episode 10 could be Lucasfilm's opportunity to bring back
Kylo Ren, also known as Ben Solo.
The Mandalorian and Grogu wasn't the box office hit Lucasfilm and Disney expected.
Now, all eyes will be next summer Star Wars Starfighter to see if Star Wars franchise can shrug off the perception that it's a streaming property.
Watts is no stranger to Star Wars.
He developed and directed episodes of Disney Plus's
Skeleton crew, which holds a 92%
score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
The filmmaker also has blockbuster experience,
having home, Spider-Man Homecoming, Spider-Man
afar from home, and Spider-Man-No-Way home
for Marvel Studios. Kinberg's track record
isn't quite as good. He wrote the Oscar-nominated
Ridley Scott Film The Martian, but is also
responsible for Duds like X-Men the Last Stand,
Fantastic Four, and Dark Phoenix.
Stay tuned for updates, yada, yada, yada.
Okay, so let's get into
this. I have my stage here to, you know, Christian usually gives me a little bit to comment on these
things, but this is my show now today. So I will say this, this all sounds pretty good to me.
I like the idea of the male and female lead. I do love the idea. Luke and I were talking
earlier about the female lead coming from Higher Society. It's definitely a
oldie but goody, kind of someone we haven't seen in a while, it's reminiscent of Princess
We have royalty. But we haven't seen that much in Star Wars recently. One of the things that was
completely left out of the sequel trilogy for the most part was the political side of things, the high
society outside of the Canto Fight sequence, which was more window dressing than anything else.
So this gives us a shot to see the essential character whose bigger parts involve the bigger
overall connection to what's going on in the Star Wars universe. Because right now we have no idea what's
on at this point. Here we are about five years, I believe, five to ten years after the rise of
Skywalker, the First Order is done. The government is in shambles after Hosni and Brian blew up. So what do we
have? I don't really know. Is are the Jedi leading now? Is Ray leading? We don't really have any
idea. So it'll be interesting to see that side of things as well as interesting to see, you know,
the young, young buck. That's kind of always a good pairing, having the low and dirty
scoundrel type character and the high society type character
and they're going to lead us to Ray who is a mentor.
Now as far as Ray being in the movie, no, that's no duh.
As far as her movie still being alive,
I got to say, I don't know about that.
I think they have to say that particularly,
although I will say I did talk to Luke again behind the scenes.
it would be interesting to see if they
talk to Daisy Ridley and had her
fold into this episode 10 through 12
and in like exchange for that she still does a movie
it almost would be interesting to see if that becomes like the clay face
of the Star Wars universe where as the Ray movie
would become more like the sideline movie as in like the side plot movie
to a degree she does have fans I know it's popular to say she doesn't
she does have some fan base obviously
Ray pool.
Yeah, exactly.
Thanks, Luke.
But I think that it would be interesting to see if that's the sidebar character.
Ray could be like the clay face of the Starry's universe potentially,
that in between the trilogies.
Because obviously the trilogy is what matters right now, right?
We're in a reset universe, Dave Faloni's first real effort will be episode 10,
and this trilogy is going to define the Falunian era.
And frankly, if it lasts.
So if it's a hit and then they can develop Ray further on a series,
sidebar note, hey, maybe
that's the way they're going to go. I still
think it's not going to happen anytime soon.
I still don't think Charmato-Bachinoi is
still attached. I think this is all
kind of let's see how the cookie crumbles
and we'll go from there. I will
say I think it's not dead. I think the right movie
is potentially not dead. It's
more of like, we're going to shove this to decide.
Let's see how episode 10 rules
and then we'll re-examine
at that point how we want to do it.
As far as the other
parts, Josh, John
rather. I always said that this was a good choice. I think it's a safer choice, but he does have some
great film behind him. Copcar, which is great. He did the old man episode, which are great. And
Skeleton Crew, if you watched it, you know that he has a great Star Wars sensibility. It was a very
Goonies, Ambulon Star Wars. It was definitely a younger-based Star Wars, which I think was actually
an awesome thing to have when you have Andor on one side of the thing, having the more mature side,
the darker side, the earthier side, so to speak, having Seattleton crew as the like,
you know, the alternative to that, the fun, swaggering adventure, that kind of thing.
I think that's great. And he did a great job with that. So I really hope, really hope we see
Joddinawood potentially come back to this trilogy because I think Jude Law was definitely
a highlight of the, of skeleton crew, for example. All right. What do you guys think?
Is there anything else in that storyline that we should talk about? Oh, Kenberg. I should have mentioned
Kimberd. I've been mentioned on the show before, but some people are very down on Kinnamor.
And I understand why. He doesn't have a great track record. He's directing track record
absolutely stinks. And he's been involved with some stinkers. However, I just want to put forth
that I think I have a lot of faith in him as a writer and a shepherder because he did such
great work with rebels. He co-created rebels with Dave Faloni. He works well with Dave Faloni.
He co-wrote some of the most highly regarded episodes in Rebels, which are very Star Wars strong.
He seems to know this universe very well.
And if he can get proper directors like someone like John wants to shepherd in a story that he wants to tell,
that I think it could be something special, or at least could be something fun and worthwhile.
So I'm excited. I'm excited about that.
I think this could be a way for Star Wars to reset.
It's going to be interesting to see what Starfighter does.
Going back to that, I mean, that is still Kathleen Kennedy's bee.
That is still Kathleen Kennedy's shepherding.
Dave Faloney was there.
But we're going to have to see what Dave Faluny does with being in charge.
I mean, when he was with Kathleen, he probably gave a lot of advice, but who knows what she took and what she didn't take.
And he was going to be a good company man, a good soldier, and do what he's going to do?
But what do you guys think?
What do you guys think about this?
Does this make any sense to you?
Do you like the two-prong lead?
Do we like the idea of getting more of the high society,
maybe the government side of things,
the political side of Star Wars potentially?
Let us know in the comments.
Let's know in the super chat.
We've got a couple so far, some very helpful ones.
Thank you.
We're going to try to be Roca.
We're going to try to be Roca.
I know I don't have the track record,
but like, you know, you guys can help me out.
I know, if anything, do it despite Roca,
not even to support me, despite Roca.
And we'll do that for sure.
But we will go on and...
They're going to get soft.
And I'm going to get harder.
Yes, Luke is backstage doing that, so we're thankful for that.
I'm always hard, Roka.
I'm always, well, I don't want to clip out myself.
So what do you guys want to think, guys?
Am I positive?
Yes, crashing Caryote, I see you out there.
Shocker, I am positive on Star Wars News.
I'm just, I don't think I'm necessarily overly positive.
I'm just not negative.
I choose to believe, that's my ebbo for almost everything.
I tend to choose to believe in happiness.
I like movies.
So unless it's something really egregious, I try to see what they did.
It's hard to make a movie.
I did see Clayface.
I'll throw that out there.
I didn't get a chance to talk during Roxy and Mike segment yesterday.
I'll kind of pivot just to give you my impressions of Clayface.
I saw the Mike Flanagan script underneath, and I was hoping to get a little more of the Mike Flanagan script.
However, I did enjoy what I got.
I thought it was a lot of fun.
Overall, it was definitely a fun experience,
and I kind of like the idea of having the blockbusters in the summer
and the lower budget efforts, the sidebar characters in the fall,
and that's a good strategy.
I think it could prove successful.
I will say, I don't know what the heck Mike was talking about yesterday.
I do think Gotham was basically just a facade.
It was basically a, going to slap GCPD on the side of a building in New York
and call it a day.
I didn't think it was Gotham at all.
That was my main problem with the movie.
He didn't ruin the movie for me,
but I didn't feel like Gotham was a character at all
compared to what he was saying.
But, you know, our opinions definitely will vary, for sure.
Yeah, so that was my little way.
Okay, let's, I got a couple of news stories.
I'm going to go to the next one.
Luke is sending me in some news stories as well.
My computer's a little slow roughing riding today.
Hopefully it's not going to kill it for you guys.
But let's move on to the next story, and then I'll go on to the Luke special.
Here we go.
Next story we got, and then we'll get into some talk about the friends who are helping us keep the show on the air.
By the way, we'll do that next.
But first of all, Lord and Miller on their Star Wars exit from Dark Horizons,
almost a decade after they were dismissed from Solo, a Star Wars story, partway through production.
Filmmakers filled Lord and Chris Miller say they've made peace with what happened.
The project Hail Mary and the Lego movie filmmakers were hired to direct the film and were deep into production on it with several months of filming completed.
That's when Lucasfilm removed them due to creative differences.
At the time, it was reported to be due to the different approaches to filmmaking, producer Kathleen Kennedy,
co-writer and executive producer Lawrence Kasden, and others from her Lucas film team hold a tight leash over the franchise and its creative decisions.
Lord and Miller, on the other hand, are noted for a more improvisational style.
and ultimately Ron Howard took over the podcast pitcher when they exited.
Appearing on a Ritney's episode of the Town Podcast,
the pair say they never wished the production ill even after their exit,
with Lord saying, no, because, you know, that's our crew, that's our cast.
Those are the people we cast.
What we said to the crew was, if you want to do something to support us,
make a great movie with Ron, I always look forward, I never look back.
The filmmakers revealed that Kennedy reached out to them earlier this year
to congratulate them on the success of Project Hail Mary.
They also hold the original trilogy in reverence.
Those films are independent films.
They started that way, and they have that spirit.
And the other thing, that they're spiritual and not to forget, they should be funny.
That's why they would ever return to the franchise.
The pair said, never say never.
Pera currently working on Spider-Man beyond the Spider-Verse opening in cinema's next year.
Well, okay.
I think that says it all.
I think, honestly, of course, we willing to come back now.
Kathleen Kennedy is no longer involved.
Lawrence Kasen is no longer involved.
At this point, I believe.
And I think from what I heard from my sources, I don't have great sources, but I do have some people behind the scenes that talk to me every once in a while.
It was definitely more, even more Lawrence Kazan than it was, Kathleen Kennedy.
Lawrence Kazan had a very, shall we say, he really has that ownership of Han Solo, and he did like the slap dash improvisational thing that Lord and Miller were doing.
I see both sides of it.
Star Wars was such a venerated property.
It's hard to change the tone completely.
It's like I think they're probably fearful more of like a Thor,
Love and Thunder thing happening to Star Wars.
I think that was the idea that was kind of in the mind of Kathleen Kennedy and
Lawrence Kazan.
Lord Miller aren't Pago-Watidi, of course.
So that's the other side of Lord and Miller have never proven to have that kind of failure
on their lips.
So, I mean, I see both sides.
Would I love to have seen Lord and Miller's version of the solo movie?
Absolutely.
I would love to see what Lord Miller could have been.
done with that final project.
I also am happy with what we got with Ron Howard, a far more safer film, but a silly fun
space adventure.
I have not as hardcore as Christian is about Alden Iron Rake.
I kind of saw him as a youngish Han Solo.
He did enough for me that I still enjoyed it.
I love Woody Harrelson and then I love Chubacca in it.
I thought it was a fun movie.
But we have gotten him a little bit better from Gordon Miller.
It would have been a definitely big swing and potentially.
greatness. So that's your choice. Safe, fun, potential greatness. I like to swing towards
potential greatness, but it is what it is. As far as them having good relationships with everybody
now makes sense. Catherine Kennedy is not someone to hold a grudge. It's not like they slapped her
in the face or anything like that. They just had disagreements over it. She wishes them well. She's a
professional. And the fact that they might come back. I mean, I don't know if they actually would.
They might be just kind of soft-spoke talking.
You're not saying anything bad about it.
But I think with them gone, with Dave Flonny in charge now,
maybe they have a great relationship with Dave Filoni.
Maybe they will get another shot again.
Of course, wouldn't that be a kick in the pants?
They'd get another shot and they get kicked off again.
Oh, how the Internet would lose its mind at that point.
But what do you guys think?
What do you guys think about it at all?
Did you like that?
Did you like what Lauren Miller said?
would you have liked to have seen Lord Miller's completed Star Wars?
Do you understand why Lucasville maybe had some hesitations on what they were doing?
Hesitations that proved unfounded, probably proved unfounded and probably were just a wrong decision to make.
All right, getting those super chats in.
Got a couple of people in there.
Love that.
I love that.
We're trying to beat Roca.
We're trying to beat Roca.
If we can get that money in there for beating Roca, I would be greatly appreciative.
I much love you guys.
and you know how much it would mean to me to take Rocahout for the week.
That would be fun.
It would be a lot of fun.
All right, but without further ado, let us go into our friends,
our friends, obviously, who keep us running.
We have our friends at Helix, Sleep, and Kalsi,
and then we will be right back to continue our stories.
Hey, thanks to our friends over at Helix and Kalsi
for helping keeping the lights on and help you guys.
And thank you guys as well for showing up for me here today.
I know it's not a regularly scheduled show, regularly scheduled hosts,
but I do appreciate you guys checking in and sticking out with me a little bit.
And yeah, let's keep on going.
I've been kind of checking the chat a little bit.
It's definitely interesting trying to host and read the chat and do anything else.
I have a lot of faith in what Christian does every day.
But, yeah, so I did see some things in the chat about like R-rated Star Wars.
That's always been something that's been a question in my mind,
whether we should do that or not.
I've always said that Star Wars probably shouldn't be R.
I think it is, although the phrase Lucas uses about being for 12-year-olds is probably overused.
I don't think we should eliminate more adult-leaning Star Wars.
I don't know how hard that should go.
But I do think there's a nice gamut out there for projects like Andor, which is a definitely more adult show.
But then also have a show like Skeleton Crew or a Younger Bay Show, and then ones in the middle.
I've always had a conversation with
at least let's try to keep the Star Wars
swagger in it. That's what I like about Star Wars.
For example, this is a hot take.
I loved Andor. Don't get me wrong. I really loved Andor.
But Christian always says that he
does not understand why people
don't see it as a Star Wars thing.
And I'll say I do understand why that
because it does lack a little bit of that
Star Wars suit for me.
Great show,
well written. I wouldn't change it for anything.
But I will say that
it's at its core a Star Wars story about fighting off a fascist government and a fascist empire
and rebellion. That stuff that adds core as Star Wars, but it does, and its execution,
miss a little bit of that swaggering adventure kind of bit. So I understand when people say that,
to be honestly, to be honest. But I do think that it's still room to have it. I just wouldn't want
every Star Wars project to be Endor. Written, well written like Endor, sure, but not totally like
and or I like Mandalorian. I think what's a great. The Mandelorian first couple of seasons were great.
Season three I enjoyed. I know it lost its focus a little bit, but I think that's probably the
closest we've had to what the Star Wars suit was, so to speak. I think the Starfighter could be
more lines with that. I hope they don't have too much comedy. Levy can sometimes get a little too much
on the comedy side of the thing. Let's see how we can keep that balance, but we're going to find out. We're
going to find out. So all right, let's move on to the next story today. And if you are just
showing up here, I appreciate you guys checking me out. Christian has a recording to do today and
a screening to do today. Kevin got waylaid by work and other things. So it's just you and me,
guys. It's just you and me. So get those questions in there and I'll stay as long as I can.
And hopefully you guys will stick it out with me. This is a story that Luke sent me over
about two minutes ago. I have not read it, so we're going to do this live together.
Let's see how this goes.
Kathleen Kennedy replaces Peter Rice as head of ceremonies and content for L.A.'s
Olympic Games from the Hollywood Reporter.
Kathleen is a legend, says L.A. 28 chairperson and President Casey Wasserman
in making the appointment while the veteran producer called the Olympics a touchdown in my life.
When news broke, the Netflix had tapped Peter Rice to replace Bella Bajaria as chief content
officer charged with overseeing scripted and unscripted series, film, live events, and more in all
territories across the globe. It didn't take long for insiders to wonder how we could lead in such
a massive portfolio while continuing on with a role as head of ceremonies for the 28
Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Question no more. Highwood veteran Kathleen Kennedy has been tapped
to replace Rice as head of ceremonies and content for LA 28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Executive Producer-Rour will find the iconic producer helping shave the opening and closing ceremonies
for back-to-back games and four separate events that will be viewed by an audience of billions
across the globe.
Keep going.
Rice won't be bowing out completely.
He will stay on his executive producer, and Kennedy is expected to dive straight in from work
and from early development toward production and execution alongside a team that includes
a lot of producers, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
And it goes on to talk about Kathleen in general.
She is a legend, one of the all-time greats, as Wasserman says, with a rare gift for storytelling.
When the stars align and focus the world's attention on Los Angeles for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games,
I can't think of anyone better to conjure the magic of Hollywood than Kathleen.
All right, so we got enough out of that.
I like it.
I mean, I think Kathleen Kennedy gets a bad rap for what people didn't like about Star Wars, right?
He didn't like her for Star Wars stuff, and that's fine.
I'm not going to argue that.
We can't have an argument all day on the Star Wars podcast about what she did right and what she did wrong for Star Wars.
But she is a producer that knows most of all what she's doing.
And I think on a separate chair like this, I think it's a good thing for her.
I think it's a good thing for the Olympics.
She is a very professional person.
She will get the stuff done if she's going to be in charge of it.
I think that's a solid thing.
I think it's going to be a fun Olympic Games.
I have no problems with this.
I'm glad that she's still working out there.
I do think it was time for her to move on from Star Wars.
It's definitely got to get some new fresher blood in there and see what we can do.
But it doesn't mean she shouldn't work ever again.
And I think that this is a great place to slaughter her.
I love the Olympic game.
I love seeing the open ceremonies.
I think she'll do wonders in that.
All right.
So let's move on to the next storyline here.
And then we'll get to some questions.
We have two more stories left, and then we'll get to some questions.
Whether you guys want to stick around with me or not is up to you.
Of course, we're trying to beat Roca as that's our goal, beating Roca.
I don't care if I come in second place.
I don't care if I come in third place.
I don't care if I come in fourth place.
There's always Roca comes in fifth place.
So let's make it happen.
All right, next up we got from comic bookmovey.com.
Lantern's VFX reveal, real reveals amazing hidden effects
and where the rumored $160 million budget went.
Landterns reportedly ranks among HBO's most expensive TV series
boasts a massive $160 million budget.
Many fans have wondered where the money went,
especially as the DC Studios budget,
it was light on constructs and space set scenes,
even the aliens look like regular humans.
Now, though, COSA, VFX has shared a VFX reel
revealing the insane amount of hidden special effects featured in the show.
Lanterns was shot in California, meaning nearly every background had to be replaced to transform it into rural Nebraska.
Even John Stewart's beard wasn't real.
It's undeniably impressive to see how many scenes were enhanced with the VFX,
something no one seemed to notice while watching each week.
HBO has not renewed lanterns for season two,
though it's not uncommon for the premium cable network to take several months to announce the show's return.
Ultimately, it will boil down to whether the DCU series justified its massive budget,
and with our DC Studios and HBO to side a second batch of episodes is the best place to continue John's story.
This is one great season of television based on a property that had been somewhat irradiated since 2011, right?
DC Studios co-CEO. Peter Safen recently said.
I think that's most gratifying about this show and the season on HBO is that it brought Green Lantern back to the conversation into the public culture in a really positive fashion.
If we're able to come up with what we believe to be a worthy successor to be beloved and great for a season,
that's what's going to dictate whether there's a second season.
So I'm clear what season two would look like,
the Lantern showrunner Chris Mundy has suggested
that it would be another granted story,
meaning no constant battles amid the Sinestro Hore War, for example.
Neither Damon Lindelof nor Tom King will return as writers.
All right, so there we go with that.
I don't know, what do you guys think about that?
That's interesting.
That is an exorbitant budget for what it looked like.
I'm not sure what the choices were to film it in California
and make it look like rural Nebraska.
It had to do a beard for John Stewart.
At least it wasn't like mustache gate.
At least I didn't notice the VFX beard on John Stewart.
I don't know if you guys did.
I didn't actually have a comment on lanterns on this show,
so people don't really know how I feel about the show.
I thought it was fine.
I thought it was a good show.
I had a lot of fun with it.
I loved Kyle Chandler in it.
So I would like a season two.
but I think if we got a season two,
I honestly think we should probably focus on Kyle Chandler if we can.
I think that John Stewart's story is probably one
that's going to go on to the movies in Man O' Tomorrow.
Maybe having a different Green Lantern every time.
We could have a Kyle Rainer story eventually.
We could have a prequel, I think with Kyle Chandler doing Hal Jordan
in a prequel series, so to speak,
wouldn't necessarily have to be the same exact thing.
But I don't know.
I'll have to see.
That is quite a budget, though.
I will say that's quite a budget for the show,
and it's not renewed yet, but it does,
HBO does take its time.
So we'll have to see it did get mostly good reviews.
I know some people hate it.
But, you know, I kind of feel if I had to put my money down,
do I think we're going to get a second season?
I think we will.
It might not look the same.
It might not be exactly a direct continuation,
but it'll be kind of one of those spin-off type shows, potentially.
But they could be waiting to see what Manit Tomorrow does.
It might be,
obviously the whole thing with the takeover or the merge, I should say merger and everything else,
it seems like a lot of things are going to be on hold until a man of tomorrow hits.
And then they can kind of go, okay, this is where we are.
This is where Amina of Tomorrow is.
This is where the DCU is.
Let us develop what we're going to do.
Let us decide how we're going to move forward with everything.
So, yeah, I don't know.
What do you think about it?
Do you think that's overly exorbitant?
Do you think it didn't show on screen?
What are you?
Because I think it looked.
good. I thought the show
looked good for what it did. I mean, it definitely
chose to be a grounded show
purposely, I think.
But for what it was trying to do and what it
promised to do in the trailer,
I think it said out,
it did what it set out to do.
Whether you liked it or not, that's a different story, of course.
That's a very, very subjective thing.
So,
all right, we got one more story
today, and then we will hit the
questions, and then if
you want to keep me around, great. And if not,
It's okay. We'll end early. We'll come back tomorrow and we will go from there.
So let's move on to this one now. We got Lord Teases Third Spider-Verse visuals.
Another Phil Lord and Fort Lord Miller episode or article, rather.
Spider-Verse film series producer Phil Lourge is the upcoming Spider-Man Beyond the Spider-Verse
will feature a whole new camera pipeline allowing the animators to do tricks.
They never could before. The final film of the trilogy reportedly picks up
right from the end of Spider-Man across the Spider-Verse with Miles Morales,
confronted by his alternate universe version, who is also the prowler.
The new film is specifically formatted for premium large format theaters like IMAX for the first time,
with an audience at CinemaCon getting a first look earlier this year.
Speaking with Mapologna for his The Town podcast,
Laura says the technology for the film continues to improve.
Particular looks that we're doing are really, really unique,
and they don't follow rules of three-dimensional animation.
They're much more in the 2D multi-plane kind of style.
The camera work pipeline is completely new and a lot more akin to a live-action pipeline.
So it's a lot more handheld.
There's live-action operators that are part of it, like shooting things virtually.
The camera work is outstanding.
Bob Percietti and Justin K. Thompson are directing the film,
which will arrive four years after the second film in nine years after the first.
Wow, nine years is the first Spider-Ver's film.
Lauren Chris Miller, who created the trilogy,
are returning to co-write the screenplay,
Spider-Man Beyond the Spider-Verse will arrive at cinemas on June 4th, 2027.
Well, there you go. There you have it.
I think Spider-Ver's films are phenomenal.
I love the Spider-Ver's films,
and I love what they are doing, stylizing these animations.
It's groundbreaking.
It's definitely, this is continuing the ground-baking ideas.
They're trying to new things out.
They're trying to make it more combine that, like,
live-action animation feel,
definitely getting completely stylized stuff out there,
I love the stylization.
That's what draws me to it.
My kid, my youngest, who is an animator and video game designer as well,
really loves this series, and we sit down and watch it quite a bit.
So I'm very interested to see what's coming down the pipeline.
If they're doing all this new work that also explains part of the reason why it takes so long in between these films,
I know they have some other issues as well.
But if it ends up looking as good as the first two did, then I think it'll be worth the weight.
I think it's going to be worth the way.
It's one of those few properties that I don't think gets hurt very,
much by a delay.
I feel like people are still
as into Spider-Verse, maybe
a little less, but overall,
still mostly into the Spider-Verse.
So hopefully that's true.
And come June toward 2027, we'll have
another banger at the end of the trilogy.
And we should, yeah,
have fun time with it.
What do you guys think? That's the important thing.
That's the important thing. So
do you guys look forward to
the Spider-Verse? Are you still interested in the Spider-Verse?
Has it been too long? Nine years since the
first film four years since the second.
Batman Part 2 gets its
criticisms for how long it's taken between
that and the original The Batman
film. I feel like Spider-Versers can quite get that same
criticism thrown at it. Is that fair?
I don't know. I don't know.
What do you guys think? So,
all right. We will
transition now into
the questions. I have 15
so far. Hey, that's not too shabby.
That's not too shabby. If you want to keep me up
on here, you can ask any questions.
you'd like some questions from behind the scenes if you want.
I might be able to throw some dirt out there.
Who knows?
I probably won't.
But you never know until you ask.
You can ask me some questions you've always been wanting to know about the Christian
Harlov show about the movie Trivia Schmodeon, Peter, about anything to do with the channel
or myself, if you want to know.
I will say I will use the platform now to say I am going to be relaunching my own channel
eventually, the near future, myself and PJ Campbell,
be doing a podcast again when I
finish some things up. So I look
forward to that. Now it's at PLD projects,
although it might be rebranding. I don't know. I'm trying
to figure that all out. You're the first to hear this.
But also, I will say
PJ and I have had now two summits
behind the scenes,
trying to get ready for the revengeal
return of the movie Trivias tomorrow down,
the 16 man, woman,
person tournament.
That's going to be held in California,
in Burbank, Derek
and Jaycees, you great
Scum and the villainy, executive producers of trending.
They're graciously hosting at rendezvous, the tournament for us.
And some tickets are still available, I believe, if you go to the trending Kickstarter.
If you have not gone there yet to help promote that, to pledge that.
You can get those free tickets.
That'll be a definitely interesting experience for sure.
You can sit right next to John Roka as he eats his meal.
You can harass him a little bit.
Don't tell him I said that.
And I can't be, and I also can't, like, you know, I don't know what he's going to do back, but, you know.
But yeah, it should be.
And I'm going to get harder.
Every time.
Every time.
I wear a luchador mask, if I were you.
I'd sit right next to him just wearing my luchador mask.
And I also have that somewhere.
Maybe I'll wear that to the taping.
I'll be, I'll do my judging in that.
But PJ and I had a lot of fun.
We had a lot of fun talking about the Shmodown, reminiscing about them things.
and changing up the rules a little bit.
We're going to try to, since it's a very large gamut of people
from across the entire era of the showdown, the rules change a lot.
We're going to try to simplify the game a little bit,
make sure everybody's on board with everything.
We're going to make sure we have enough slices for everybody,
but not overwhelm some older folks and some people who have been out of the game for a while.
But we're going to make it fun.
That's our number one goal.
And, you know, if I control Roka, then I troll Roka.
I say that. He just gets so upset. He gets so upset.
That's so mad.
They're going to get soft.
All right.
And I'm going to get harder.
Luke's trying to make this work.
He's trying to bring Roca on.
I guess he's trying to see if Roca's actually watching since he's there every once in a while.
Maybe he's probably in the chat at some point.
But anyway, let's go into these super chats.
And you can, again, keep me on as long as you'd like.
Appreciate you guys very much so.
It's an interesting day for sure.
And hopefully this will be a successful enough show.
Christian doesn't feel bad about having me go on.
So, all right.
First time, Joey Peders.
Always good to see you, my friend.
PLD.
It's me.
It's a me.
It's a PLD.
Always good to see you, Joey, in the chat as well.
Tumanto 1022 support the PLD.
I love the Expos.
That's an old school fan right there.
The Expo's a mile after there.
Hopefully, guys, did you guys watch the World Series last night?
Great to see.
Tamabay.
Wow.
Milwaukee had it in the bag
and Tampa Bay
That's okay
It's okay Milwaukee
Don't worry about it
No team has ever come back
From down 3-0 right
That's for all the Yankee fans

Should they film this new trilogy
Back to Back
That's a great question
I think the reasons
Why you film it back to back
would be to, say, budget-wise, obviously, that helps make a big, long shoot instead of trying to separate it out.
However, with the different directors, I mean, maybe, it might not be a bad idea, but I don't know if they, definitely they have to have a plan, right?
That's the main important thing.
They have to have a plan from the first film to the last film.
And I don't mean they have to have everything locked down.
Then there's a lot of talk about this throughout many streams, though, you know, the sequel didn't have a plan, and that's why they,
did what they did.
George Lucas,
but then the people
will fight back.
George Lucas didn't really have a plan.
He was going by the ring of his pants.
Well, yeah, but it's not black or white,
which this whole society wants to be nowadays.
On social media and everything,
it's either A or is Z.
It is never anywhere in between.
The truth is, did George have the original trilogy all planned out?
No, not nearly as much as he says he did.
At the same time, he was a singular filmmaker,
singular storyteller,
and he had his idea.
And so his tweaks along the way still ended up
having that final goal.
I think he had a final goal in mind
and he had a starting point
and he tweaked along the way
truncating some things.
I know initially,
from what I remember,
he had some characters
that he squashed into one
that because he wasn't going to do
78, 9 at that point,
he was only going to do 4 through 6.
So he truncated some things.
So it was all a singular storyteller.
At least with Kinberg being in charge
and he hopefully has it beginning and an end,
then he could shoot it back to back so have the idea.
I don't think they will.
I think they're going to let, I think they're going to probably drop episode 10 and start filming
episode 11, but they want to kind of make sure everything is going smoothly.
They don't want to rush it, which is probably not a bad thing, not to want to rush it.
I hope they don't listen to the audience too much because so many different audience members
want so many different things.
So I feel like you're going to try to please everybody and you're going to end up pleasing
no one, have an idea of what you want to do and stick with it.
But it depends on the directors.
It depends on what directors they want, depends on what storyteller,
They're storytelling they want to do.
I think it's a possible that they should.
To answer your question, I think they should explore it.
And if it fits what their plans would be, then go for it.
And if not, then don't.
I wish you watched answer me, maybe, but okay.
Sarah Bufrend, 4701.
Thank you so much, everybody.
I want to appreciate everybody.
Just throw me some super chats.
I really do appreciate it.
Not going to lie, Star Wars, especially the sequel area, has been mid.
I'm being polite. Thank you for being polite for so long. I'm simply filled with anxiety for any news about it now. Look, I get it. I'm actually filled with anxiety about it for now, too, and I've liked most of the Star Wars stuff from Disney. I am anxious about it because the fan base is torn completely. And I don't know necessarily what the best fix is at this point. But obviously, everything that, every time I watch an episode of something that comes out, I'm always looking at social media and going, well, some people are going to love it, some people are going to hate it, some people are going to be in between.
And I don't know where I'm going to fit.
I try to watch it and judge myself.
So that's the main thing I do is I try to judge for myself,
what do I actually feel?
Because I realize that you're not going to please everybody.
And there's going to be people out there who are going to hate no matter what.
And there are going to be people out there who love no matter what.
So take it day by day, take it news by news and take it interest by interest.
And don't let yourself get influenced either way.
Don't let the grifters make you hate it and point out things that are.
are ridiculous. Don't let the people who love it all the time make you love something that you
don't like. Be your own person. That's the way I've always trying to approach it. Yes, I lean more
positive. That's me in life. That's not to be in Star Wars. I generally tend to like movies.
When PJ and I did our podcast together for the long as time, it was almost always in Rush Fest.
I just loved looking at films and I was positive person, so I try to find what I like about a movie
rather than chitting on it. That's just who I am. Of course, there were a couple times, Scream 7.
There's one. I can remember Halloween Resurrection is one, which I can definitely say.
I should have quite a bet. Those episodes are there. They're out there if you want to find them.
You want to see me shedding on a film.
So, all right, let's see. We've gotten next year. Derek Johnson in the house.
I heard PLD was doing a solo show. Oh, thank you so much, my friend. Much appreciated.
That will definitely help in the battle against Roca.
I know I love you, brother. I can't wait to meet you. We're having some great conversations.
This is a guy right here who I'm talking about as far as not letting anybody influence you.
Like what you like, know what you know, love what you love, criticize what you want to criticize and just be yourself.
Don't let anybody influence you.
DJ follows it up.
You have to 10 Christian Harlov memberships.
My friend, I can't thank you anymore.
I really do.
Really do appreciate you.
All right, crashing coyote.
I'm driving my car with my feet.
guess how?
Guess how?
How are you driving with your feet?
Okay, well, I guess you're going to figure it out.
Maybe you're using some gas?
And that would definitely push,
they'll propel a car forward, right?
No, why not, right?
Crashing Coyote, obviously,
about using the gas and brake pedal.
I don't think that's what you meant,
but I'm going to use it that way.
All right, DJ.
Again, another 10.
And memberships from DJ.
Derek Johnson might single-handedly repel me into this battle.
He is my field general at this point.
He's armored up.
He's ready to be like John Snow in the Battle of the Bastards,
facing down the armies of John Roka.
I love it.
DJ again, support, support, support.
Fuzzy Bubbles, part two.
Love to see Fuzzle Bubbles in the chat.
I totally missed yesterday.
For as long as time, I thought you were the daughter Fuzzy Bubbles.
I don't know why.
I don't know how.
I know I'm trying to keep our girlish figures down.
Maybe that's where it is.
But Puzzy Bubbles Part 2.
Always good to see you in the chat.
Beat the outhouse, I mean outlaw.
I want to see him go crazy if you beat him.
Oh, I will let you know how that text chain goes.
Even if he doesn't say it on there, I will definitely let you know how that text chain goes.
DJ.
Again, I'm supporting that PLD beats everyone.
All right.
All right.
I'll do that.
Let's do that.
And he follows it up.
Nobody's trying to hear that PLD.
Go for the win.
We are not supporting for second place today, sir.
You know what, DJ, this is why you're my field general.
You support me and you're rallying people to the cause.
I appreciate that.
Let's get it done.
Let's whip everyone's ass.
Yeah.
The Cinema Kid.
Here you go, PLD.
Doing great.
Thank you.
I really do appreciate that, guys.
It's always good to get to talk to you guys.
I don't get to do it very often.
I try to pop myself on the little bubble here and there to get my opinions out
when I feel I'm very strongly opinionated.
or if I have something that I feel, you know, might have an input on what the topic is.
But I always love talking to you guys at the chat when I can.
So it's good to see you guys for sure.
Let's see what we got here.
Continuing on at Geek Loadsstars.
Might be the only one who wants this, but can we tap into more 80s IP?
Centurions, I feel like will be something a studio should give a shot.
You know, Geek Loads Stars, I am an 80s boy.
So, I mean, I will always like 80s IP stuff.
That's definitely in my wheelhouse.
Christian has mentioned this, though, and I can't deny it.
I kind of feel like the 80s has kind of had its time a little bit.
I think we should maybe gear more a little bit more towards the 90s now,
move more a little bit forward.
So that, I feel like that's more popular in the zeitgeist at this point.
We've done so many 80s things.
I feel like 90s is a little more untapped at this point.
However, on a personal note,
I've always loved to see more 80s things developed.
My favorite show of all time.
My favorite sci-fi show of all time is V.
The original miniseries from 1983
had a sequel series called V the Final Battle.
84. They had a weekly series in 1985,
which really unfortunately shit the bed.
It kind of all of a sudden, like, after the creator left,
kind of Johnson created the original miniseries.
And if you haven't watched the original miniseries from 1983,
It is a phenomenal piece of sci-fi television.
The budget was pretty solid, and the effects, it's 1983 NBC, so I take that in mind,
but the effects are very solid for that era.
But the storytelling is phenomenal, very timely storytelling, wonderful storytelling.
Unfortunately, Ken Johnson left to create differences between the 83-84, the final battle,
which was the sequel miniseries.
And the sequel miniseries became much more of a,
sci-fi action piece, which was fine. It was fun. I enjoyed it for what it was.
I sold it was a great piece in television. The original miniseries was a lot more of a deeper
thought process kind of film, a miniseries rather. The weekly series got even worse. It became
pretty much a soap opera with laser guns. It got really, really bad towards you. And they had
to cut the budget. I loved it, but you know, I get it. They did the remake in 2009, which was not
very good. I did not like that. They had no idea what they were doing. And they had a lot of
different behind the scenes issues.
They never really solidified what they're trying to do.
And it never really worked out.
So unfortunately, I would love to see V come back and do a real, like a real updated thing now.
Kenneth Johnson actually has been trying to do it for years, although he's getting a little older now.
I don't know if he can film it now, but he wants to remake the original and today is a timescape.
I actually, on my PLD products channel, I got a chance to interview Kind of Johnson about V.
It was a great, great fun time.
He had a lot of great stories to, you know.
to regale regarding the project.
So if we could ever see that,
I would love to see the original V be done and redone well, for sure.
All right, let's see we got at B-Town.
Shout out PLD.
Let's go.
Let's go.
All right.
At Avernathy Roth, 351.3.
Three days left to back rendezvous, and we fund her for J.C.
Yeah, go do that.
Absolutely.
I should have mentioned that earlier when we're talking about J.C. and Derek McMan.
Derek McMan, I've dealt with a lot.
he's been telling me
I should stay on air
how we got him aboard
so I'll do it now
while Christian's not here
Derek McMahon
followed me on Instagram
randomly
I had no idea who he was
I am not someone who
tends to
I don't use Instagram very much
and I tend not to accept followers
very much
I just
I'm lazy
I don't really deal with Instagram very much
either way
for some reason I said sure
follow me
and it was in my DMs in second
so my initial thought
was this guy's a bot
All right, this is the bot.
What is he trying to sell me?
Let me get rid of this.
And he had a conversation.
He told me he was interested in being executive producer.
And so the conversation went really well.
So I brought him on board to Craig and Christian.
And here we are.
And now he is really kicking ass for us.
And he is in my DMs all the time.
He's at an eight-minute voice chat.
And I love it about every different thing under the sun.
It's a lot of fun.
But yeah, I love him.
And so if we can help rendezvous out with JC and Derek,
That'd be awesome if you guys can.
I know we are tapped this month.
I get it.
We help Christian with trending and we got trending done.
And you're here supporting me, Biroka.
So I can't ask any more.
But if you do have more, you want to support them.
That would be awesome.
I can't wait to meet him.
I can't wait to meet everybody at rendezvous.
JC was also awesome.
He was in the FCL as a Star Wars champion.
If you don't know what the FCL is,
that's kind of been a forgotten thing.
The FCL was the developmental league of the movie trivia Shmodown.
Brad Gilmore and I ran that for a season,
all digital, a lot of newcomers, new players, and everything else.
Although he did have Rokon in a wrestling match that I wrote.
That was some fun, too.
But J.C. was our Star Wars champ for Ben.
It was fun to have him onboarded there.
But yeah, so yeah, thank you, Derek.
Always for helping us out and supporting us.
And if you're named Derek, you must love this show, I guess so.
And must support the show greatly.
I guess that's great.
Let's see.
Abernathy, Rath, 3513.
again support for Star Wars
stands, that's me.
I am definitely a shill.
That's what everybody says. So what do you want
to say? I'm a shill and that's what I'm going to
be. Right?
Is what it is. Go pal.
Throw him some support that way. Love to
see it. Thank you so much as always, my
friend. Man and machine
power extreme. All right.
Good to see that as well.
Shoot right.
Foot dog. Hami.
Farts and support.
Thucke? Howley?
All right. Let's see what else we got here.
Is this the last one?
The last one for now for crashing Coyote.
Easy Fix. D.C.U. Batman is...
Batman broke...
I'm reading like Christian does.
Easy Fix. D.C.U. Batman. Back is broken right now from Bane.
That's an interesting idea.
So Batman is not around because he is injured.
Yeah, that could be actually very interesting to do.
They could actually build up the Bat family without Batman.
That might piss people off like Roxy and people who want Batman now.
But if you have to wait for Batman, you could build up the rest of that family around him and say that the bat is out due to injury at that point.
And then it could have a big return at that point.
It's just going to see if you can fix that over a course of a franchise, like a DCU franchise rather than like one film per se.
That's an interesting idea.
I don't know how it would work and how long you could stall for.
I guess it's let's figure out what the Batman part two is doing when that is coming out.
is there going to be the Batman 3?
I don't know.
We have to find that out, but it's an interesting idea for sure.
I mean, I've always been one.
I know the whole idea with Robin coming.
I know we're going to have Damien Wayne do it.
I do trust a lot of James Gunn does,
but I don't love the fact they're skipping over all of the Robbins to go right to Damien Wayne.
I get skipping Dick Grayson, and you can just establish him as Nightwing,
without having it established his Robin.
I think that will work.
I think that's okay to work.
I'm not sure about everything else.
I would like to see Tim Drake as Robin, though,
to be honest to do.
I think you could start with Jason Todd being dead
and Tim Drake being the new Robin maybe.
Still not that far off, but I don't know.
It's an interesting idea.
I mean, the reason why it is tough
is that they have the nightfall storyline
and they do it off screen.
That's a little,
that's a big Batman story.
to try to like start in the middle of so to speak so as that's definitely i'd have to think about it i know
they're doing the animated nightfall which is great i saw part one if you haven't watched part one of
the animated version you should check it out it's really good uh it makes being terrifying and i'm
a very impressive part one hopefully part two and part three will deliver at this point so um
yeah we'll have to say we'll have to see how it goes uh anything else got no christian unpron
unpronounceable Ultron is more advanced because Tony and Bruce used the Boltzmann brain that was inside of the Mindstone.
Okay.
That's right.
Vision Quest has been doing really well, I think.
I don't know how it's been doing actually in the zeitgeist of ratings or anything else, but I have really enjoyed Vision Quest so far.
Behind the scenes, I actually have seen up until episode seven, watching episode eight a little later today.
so I'm a little bit ahead of everybody else
I think episode six just aired last night
so I can't wait to see out ends
I think it's been probably one of the best things
that Marvel has done
since the
since the inception of Disney Plus
I think you have Wanda Vision
which was divisive
but I think most people admit that I'd say
it was a big swing and been pretty
well done overall I think Loki was fantastic
those are kind of like the high bars for me
I'm trying to think overall is any other Disney Plus
show that really, I mean, I like their devil.
I did like their devil born again.
I like season three, or season two, rather.
But I think if I had to pick a show right now,
it's Loki and Vision Quest are my top choices right now at that point.
James Spader is really stolen the show.
James Spader really has taken this and run with it and touch a good way.
And I'm so glad he came back to the Ultron.
I've been pretty consistent the entire way through.
What I will say, I don't want to say any spoilers, obviously,
because you guys haven't seven doesn't come out until next week but i will say i do think there's a
great scene in that one which paul betney uh acts his ass off so i really enjoy that so that's someone to
look forward to um for sure wonder man as your brooky brook mentions that in the chat too you know what
wonder man i did forget about that i have a little grudge against wonder man though because
ed harris was initially announced in it and then the strike happened and all of a sudden
ed harris was no longer in it so i had a little mini grudge against that um but but no
wonder man was actually very solid um i like the idea of wonder man because it's definitely
it's kind of what James Gunn was talking about
with the standalone thing.
That was obviously a very mostly
standalone kind of disconnected show,
which I think is something that can be done.
Again, I see a lot of people talking back and forth
we have to be completely connected or disconnected.
It doesn't have to be black or white.
It can be a little bit in between.
It's like comic book worlds.
Comic has the multiverse or the multi-storrielines going,
the big Avengers storylines that are going across different issues,
but also has like, you know,
random miniseries.
of some B-level characters.
That's what happens in the comic world.
I like the idea that we can see that.
And that's what Disney Plus probably maybe should do,
do those more standalone spotlight-type stories.
So I'm good with that, for sure.
Anything else in there?
All right, anybody else got anything left to say?
Let's see.
So what other ones do you like from Disney Plus,
as far as that goes?
It's weird.
I'm not talking Star Wars now, you know what I mean?
Mr. Rat Crap and Ships try to send
is a super chat.
Oh, yeah, probably something about corn.
Let's see.
Go PLD defeat that corn.
Long way, loving Lucha out.
Yes, okay, I get that.
Yeah, so it's now 130 Eastern.
We can end the day now, if you'd like.
I can stick around for a little bit longer.
It'd be up to you if you wanted to stick around and support all the far.
I can't ask for any more, really.
You guys have done really well in supporting me, especially.
I don't think, again, Derek Johnson,
but everybody else who is from any super chats in there,
I really do, really do appreciate it.
And Christian will appreciate it as well.
But yeah, so let's see.
Anything else in the chat we should do?
Oh, Jaredel Born again, yes.
Acting and Writing a Wonder Woman, Man, yeah.
James Spader, if he is in Doomsday, which I don't know,
he had that quote the other day.
I forget what article it was in.
James Bayer talked about everyone asking him about movies
that he's never even heard of.
like his alternate in Doomsday, indicating that he never heard of Doomsday or anything about that.
I think he's heard of it.
I think he's playing coy.
I don't know if he's going to be in Doomsday.
I would love to see him in Doomsday, but we'll have to see how Vision Quest ends, for sure.
I know at one point they mentioned a Scarlet Witch episode or movie potentially in development.
That was a leaked thing.
I don't know how true that is not announced.
I wouldn't be surprised to see this go from Vision Quest into a Scarlet Witch movie with all of them involved there.
So that would be great to see.
I just hope we get more James Bader in general, because he has been great.
He has been wonderful.
Seeing anything else in the chat to talk about?
Let's see if there's anything else in the super chat wise.
Oh, do you get that.
Eric Guyon 201220 Jules, party hat.
Is my queen had enough?
I don't know if I have any other hat.
I have my luchador mask I could wear it, but queen has a party hat, right?
Yeah, you have a song called Party from the Miracle album, close enough, right?
All right. Let's see.
Doom 3 trailer. That's true. The Doom 3 trailer came out.
I haven't heard many people talking about it, surprisingly.
It was a solid trailer. I enjoyed it.
I'm looking forward to it.
Definitely, I don't know which one I'm going to see first.
June or Doomsday, it's my birthday weekend.
So I'll figure that out.
That's Saul helping out.
Let's see Saul there.
For those who want to see negative, would you like to share your thoughts on Alien Resurrection?
Okay.
for all those who want to see negative that's true i did a show on my pillity project called class action
it was myself and my co-host mattie garb mattie gunner and richard archarvey and we did a show about
the and we did a trilogy or it was a alien tournament as to which movies were better and i did go off an alien
resurrection and mattie gunner was trying to defend it he was poking to bear he was poking to me
trying to have this idea of why alien resurrection should be i don't remember which one it was but i think
alien resurrection outside of alien versus predator requiem is my least favorite of the saga.
And he was talking about, oh, it's funny.
And I started getting really mad about it.
It's not supposed to me.
It's an alien movie.
I hate resurrection.
I really do hate resurrection.
I think it just shits on everything that happened before.
It didn't work for me at all in any way, shape, or form.
I haven't seen it in years now.
There is like Braddorffin.
That's the only good thing about it, I think.
Honestly, that's the only good thing about it because I love Brad Duravan.
I'll watch anything that Brad Durfine.
He's in that Ed Harris level for me.
There's a few people in that kind of level where I'll watch something and be very excited
just because they're in it.
And he is one of those people.
So that's the only reason I would watch that movie for sure.
But yeah, that is a piece of trash movie.
It should feel bad.
It should be gay to feel bad.
It should feel bad at that point.
Let's say anything else.
The Cinema Kid Alien 3 is a masterpiece.
I'm there with you.
I think it's an underrated bit.
I know even David Ventures and Lackett himself.
I loved the idea that they tried to go back to the beginning.
I understand.
I understand the criticisms about Newt being killed off and everything else and Hicks being killed off.
I knew what they're going for.
But once I got past that aspect of it, I love the film itself as great.
I love the alien prison planet.
I love Charles Dance, Donald Dutton, as well.
I love the, it brought back that horror feel to it.
The alien design wasn't the greatest, but I think it was definitely a lot better than it ever got credit for.
And I think that first alien trilogy holds up really well.
I'm not saying Alien 3 is on the level of alien or aliens, but I don't think it's as far off as people like to claim.
But, all right.
Derek Johnson, remember for 10 months?
I'm definitely going to see June and Doomsday both.
Yes, 100%.
100%.
Derek, I definitely want to figure that out with my work schedule.
everything else, but I will be doing that for sure. I got a lot of work going on. I don't know if you
guys know I work for my 911 job. I work for a Christian. I work for the real rejects. I upload
Sarah's audio. I've been working with Katie Sackoff on her Patreon. Soon, we had a great conversation
in their day. That should be fun as well. So I'm just always got something going on. So it's
finding the time to go. That's always the moment. And I want to start my podcast again.
I'm sorry. Me and PJ are going to be starting up our podcast again.
after a rebrand of sorts.
PJ and I are also going to be doing a member stream.
Not this month.
We're going to start next month.
We just couldn't find a time to get together
because PJ went to CMatalica and the sphere.
So he wasn't around.
But we had our, like I said,
we had our Smodown sessions.
So that didn't work out as far as member stream.
But we will be doing a bonus member stream.
Christian and I will be doing a member stream this Friday at 3 o'clock for that.
If you're a member, come with your questions,
come with everything.
want to do let Christian know how much you love with this episode and he can lean on me again if he
likes but i will say yeah but next month we'll be christian and my member stream i will also do a bonus
PJ and i member sharing we do it all showdown thing whatever you guys want to talk about
christian unpronounceable thank you again thank you everybody thank you everybody got 28 in there
it's over halfway to 50 which i'm excited to say i forget if you've spoken about alien earth that
I loved the first season.
I don't know if I've ever spoken about it either.
I did really, really enjoy it.
Timothy Oliphant was phenomenal.
I know some people felt off of that a little bit,
but I thought it was a wonderful job.
I loved what it's doing.
I'm so glad we're getting a season two.
I love a lot that's going on in the Alien World right now.
This is a story that it found its way across the way.
It started off really great and kind of like, not meandered,
but it was like kind of finding what it was.
I was trying to see what it was.
By the end,
really solidly had the mystery in place and it found its characterizations. And Timothy
Alathon was just phenomenal. I loved him in it. So I can't wait to see more from that franchise.
I also am going to go against the grain a little bit. I know a lot of people love Alien Romulus
and don't want to see Ridley Scott come back. But I was a Ridley Scott, Prometheus guy.
I love that trilogy, so I want to see the end of the David trilogy, if that's the way they're
going to do it. But to me, why not both? I wouldn't mind seeing the David trilogy, but also getting
more from Alien Romulus era as well. I think we can have both. I think it's,
It's done well.
We can have both more or the better as far as I'm concerned.
So, yeah, let's see.
Anything in there?
I will throw that up there just because imagine if Ed Harris' voice,
Chucky instead of Brad Dorff.
Oh, that would be great.
It is funny.
Ed Harris and Brad Dorff are actually in a movie together,
and it's not a great movie.
It's called Touching Home.
It was, I can't remember the director's name off the top.
I hadn't let their twin brothers, Logan Miller and something else.
and they were athletes who didn't make it in baseball
and they filmed their life story.
I'm not sure how they did it,
but Ed Harris has been notable, notable for supporting young artists
no matter who they are,
which just led them to be in some not so great films because of that.
But they were young athletes,
basically playing them to sell that he,
Ed Harris, played their drunken father,
and Brad Gore had to play his mentally challenged brother.
So I got to Ed Harris,
and Brad Doroff in their
and a lot of their performances. The film itself,
the leads who were not really actors, not really directors,
were the greatest. But having them both in the movie
makes it eminently watchable for me, for sure.
Let's see what we got. Did we beat Yoroka? I don't know if we beat Yoroka.
We're going to find out. We're going to find out for sure.
Let's see any other superchats? There you go. Mr. I'm sorry.
Cravenchitz. There you go. I love the director's cut of Avenue 3.
So there's a great subplot left out of the theatrical release.
Yes.
I definitely love that quote-unquote director's cut.
I don't think David Pinter will call up that,
but it's definitely the, I think it's called the assembly cut,
if I remember correctly.
But yeah, it's definitely a superior version.
That's the one I watch all the time
when I go back and rewatch the saga, quote of speak.
All right.
You want me to scroll up.
Ed, if you want me to see something post it again
because I'm having hard time scrolling up
while I'm trying to do everything,
and my computer's a little slow today.
It's a little easy enough.
But yeah,
else you guys want to talk about, I'll be here.
I've got another five minutes. Otherwise,
we'll say good night and say goodbye.
I can't thank you enough for the support you did give me.
And hopefully it was enough to beat Roca.
Oh, if it's enough to win the week, let's make me win the week.
So let's go for there.
Are there alien stories? Oh, by the way, Alien Universe Predator, I think, is something
that should come back as well. I really do think that because we have the Predator universe
has really come into its own,
come back into its own with Prey and with Killer of Killers and everything else.
Romulus did so well and everything else.
Now much the time,
getting those younger filmmakers who really have hit home runs recently
to get them together and do something like a co-directoring or like Alvarez
directs one and he dressed the other.
Oh, got that. Okay.
Thanks, Luke, for finding that.
Aidan Constantly should I already donate to the Kickstarter so he can't buy an add-on.
He wants to buy a tourney ticket.
Should he create a new account, a different email to sign up?
That's the question I'd have to ask Craig.
I will, I tell you what, Aiden, I will ask Craig,
and I'll let you know by tomorrow.
I'll come back in the chat tomorrow,
and I'll let you know for sure.
All right, let's see.
Got a few more in here.
All right, here we go.
Brian Rekler, five jewels.
Go team.
That's us, right?
Our team.
All right.
Sean McCabe.
I was, hey, go see you, my friend.
It was great meeting you in person down in the comedy show.
That was a lot of fun.
I'm glad the members got to see the show.
That was me holding up Christian's phone and filming from the back area.
If you didn't know, you weren't there,
this little small back room that led to a green room,
which was like, it was like the size of a prison cell,
that Jen Mark and Christian were all trying to get ready.
And I was back in there, too.
But right where the entrance way is where I got to shoot Christians set.
and I'm glad he decided to release it to the members, at least.
That's a lot of fun.
Did you catch Crystal Lake, my cousin was Gaff from the series?
You know I did.
You know, I'm a horror guy.
My PJMI podcast I originally talked about,
we originally started as a horror podcast.
We branched out to do franchises.
But I was a big Friday 13th guys.
I definitely was going to watch Crystal Lake.
I actually got to watch it earlier.
Then a lot of people did.
And I really enjoyed it.
I really enjoyed it.
I think they did a great job.
I know some purists from Friday the 13th.
They're not happy with some of the lore changes,
to me, I'm kind of like, well, this is a film series that has changed its lore so often.
And so many, there's not like one set lore.
There's definitely different timelines, different versions of it.
So you got to go in knowing that things were going to change a little bit for sure.
But I love that the homage as it did to the 70s films.
Like it kind of had this, like, the way it was shot, had some of the cuts it did, some of the wipes they did.
Some of the title cards they did.
It felt like they were really paying homage to the original, at least first couple, Friday, 13th movies,
which I really appreciate it.
And Linda Cardenelli gives a great, great performance throughout.
Some of the things involved in the show are definitely going to be questionable.
Some of the word changes to Jason, but I thought it was kind of fun.
I thought it was a fun change and definitely explained a little more.
Some people might want it left unexplained, which I get that.
But for explanation, does it go?
It was a fun sci-fi monster movie romp.
I had a good time with it.
Hopefully you guys did too.
I don't know how Christian's reaction is doing.
I don't think he was doing that well.
So I had to finish watching it on its own.
If you guys could have seen the unedited, unedited version of that.
When I do the unedited, sometimes I have to cut out, like,
when Christian takes a personal phone call, stuff like that.
So I had to cut out some of that.
Some of those times he actually had to cut out was what he called,
was calling me to send him the non-adversions.
It was pretty funny because he had to watch the adverts.
It made it very hard to match up and sync.
But it was fun for sure.
DJ, did you get the superchats from earlier,
the member gifts and other super chats?
I did. I did.
I thank you so much.
I really do appreciate that.
Hopefully you saw it.
You can go back.
I definitely commented on how you are my field general today.
You are rallying the troops,
and we're going to win the day because of you leading the charge
with everybody else.
Really appreciate you guys.
Riffy Harrow, 1943.
What's my favorite movie of the year so far?
That is a good question.
For sure.
Project Hail Mary is probably my favorite.
It did the most, and it's kind of stuck with me the most.
For sure.
I think that's probably the one I'd have to go with overall.
I know people are going to be shocked that I didn't say Mando and Grogo.
I like Mando and Grogo, but I appreciate other films more.
It is what it is.
Let's see.
Rang Guitar 1.
What is the origin of me in Roku's rivalry?
Well, hell now.
that is
quiet time
yeah I'll tell that story
sure
so I came onto the
YouTube space
in back when Disney
bought Lucas film
and I was looking for
Star Wars News
so I was
I got into Jedi Council
and that led to the Shmowdown
and all the kind of stuff
I watched the Shmodown
and then when
team action debuted
I glombed on to them
went to watch their show
action movie anatomy
on the
BuzzFeed Network at that point.
And that was fun.
That was a lot of fun.
I end up working for them,
working with them first.
I became running their Patreon.
And actually,
he's hosting a lot of shows they did together
before they went through separate ways
doing their good friends still, by the way.
No animosity or anything like that.
Ben Bateman is doing,
he's like the biggest magic gathering podcaster in the world.
And he's got a, being very successful.
Andrew Guy also successful.
He's streaming.
He's hosting Clash Royale.
He's also getting part of,
on Matt Locke, Kathy Bates, Matt Lock.
They're both been wonderfully.
But I started working with them.
And obviously, their big rivalry was with John Roker, top 10 at that time.
About that time, I also started doing a Shmodeown after show called Call to Action,
which was a very team action-oriented after show.
We tried to basically be the Heel podcast, like they were the Heel,
they were the Heel, uh, um, Smodown Stars, so to speak.
We were the podcast that tried to like, we had support of the Heels.
We were like the bad guys that would support the heels.
I already wanted to vote for the heroes and cheer for the heroes.
We were cheering for the bad guys.
And so we used to, I used to troll real coverage and soccer cat.
And that's kind of where it began, got to the point.
The most funniest part, I tell the story everyone's in a while.
I first met everybody in Houston when we had the big Houston live event.
I met Ben Beaman on New York event.
But then when everybody was going to get together for the Houston event, the old Action Army,
which was the thing back from the day.
The Action Army was like the biggest fan base in the movie of Trayorysmodown.
And we went to all the live events.
We supported Ben and Drew.
And we went to Houston, a live event.
It was a Ben versus Guy at that point.
And we went to the airport.
We were going to pick up guy from the airport.
We had been friends already.
So we're going to pick him up from the airport and bring him back to his hotel and hang out for a while.
And who do we see at the airport?
We see John Roka picking up his backs.
And so we called out, hey, out, like across the airport.
And Roka goes and looks up.
You could see his face.
He gets his, I'm going to greet the fan's face.
A big smile like you're going to turn and, like, you know, puff his chest out, beat John Roka.
And you saw who it was and went, fuck you guys.
So that's how that kind of started.
Basically went back and forth for a while.
I'm always going to be an action side.
I'm always on the bad guy side.
We were always against Roka.
And so that became a running bit.
And it's kind of continued to this day in that he likes to talk smack to me.
I like to talk some out to him.
So there you go.
I think that's the basics of it at this point.
Although he won't tell you now.
He'll tell you how I actually helped him start his YouTube channel
and everybody changed everything over at Collider and he left.
He gave me credit back in the day.
I'll tell him, not going to lie.
He gave me credit back then.
But he wouldn't admit it now probably.
Yeah, the outhouse, exactly.
The action guys were great.
The action guys were great and collater.
I love those guys.
I love those boys tremendously.
They're still very close friends.
We still have a good time talking to them about stuff all the time.
And they are well aware of everything going on still.
So, no, good to see them.
Let's see.
Poochoo Riot.
If you love horror movies, check out the new Hellraiser game.
It's the best Hellraiser since the first two, in my opinion.
It takes place in 2007, gory yet steamy.
Interesting.
I will not much of a gamer.
I will say that.
I used to game more back in the day.
I love Knights of the Old Republic.
My wife and I played Lord of the Rings on.
line and we got sucked into that. It was a time suck for us. So that's the point where I had to
quit cold turkey. I had no time in my life to do anything else. So I kind of never really went
back to any serious games after that. Like I will do the usual Mario Kart and stuff like that
and fun games like that that don't take a lot of commitment. But I kind of, you know, the announcement
of the third episode in the Knights of the Republic series, that's kind of intrigued my interest. So I
I could see myself falling back into that a little bit.
I just got to watch it because, like I said before, my time suck.
But Hellraiser is a Hellraiser will be fun to do.
I love the Hellraiser movies.
I really enjoy them.
I know that the rejects are going to be reacting to them soon.
So I'm good to see, glad to see Roxy and Terra reacting to those
because those are going to be fun reactions for sure.
But yeah, not many are they keep pushing GTA.
Sixthabap, that's true.
I never even really played GTA.
GTA.
I think I played like once or twice.
It was fun.
I just never really sucked into it at all.
All right.
Let's see.
Another one.
J.J.
coming in hot.
Coming in hot.
Going to give some support.
I'll give some more support.
The guy, PLD.
That's right.
I am the guy right now.
Thank you, Derek.
Man, if I win,
not going to hear the end of it.
You're not going to hear the end of it.
I love it.
Yeah, Yoshimusu, you're right. Jedi Fallen Order and Jaya Survivor are some of the best Star Wars stories.
I have definitely watched the cutscenes of those kind of thing. It's been more of my thing.
So I agree. They are phenomenal. I probably will go back. If I ever do start gaming again, those are ones I'd probably go back and do.
My kid really wants me to do these during the Legend of Zelda Okina Time remake, which was one of my favorite Zelda games back in the day.
So he's trying to, they're trying to hook me into getting that again. So hopefully that might happen as well.
And Derek is in it for the drama. That's right.
You got 10 more minutes, I can stick around. It's up to you guys. Derek is also,
Derek is definitely trying bad.
You know, yeah, Karen, he does, Derek does help Rooka out, but this week Roka's already got his showdown.
So if he, Roker can't come back. It's about this week.
So, hell yeah. Beat Roka.
Let's do it.
You're dirty, dirty, dirty animals.
We are dirty, dirty, dirty animals.
We are dirty, dirty, dirty animals.
I've got to find some more clips.
I've got to thank M.K. and Sam for doing the time codes for us every week.
It's been a blessing for us to do every week.
Every day they come through.
And yesterday, I threw me the Roxy clip, which I love those.
And they're sending me clips that I can cut out later on, which is fine.
Because a lot of times I'm behind the scenes doing stuff.
And that's why they do the time codes because I'm multitasking.
And I'm like, I can't see when things are.
And so I have to scroll.
But I think the kind clip code, I'm like, oh, I can go check it out and just, boom, get done.
So I have a few things like that.
Let's see.
Got another one in here?
Thank you.
SFL 12, member 15 months.
I can't believe how long we've had members.
It feels like we just started that like last month.
I mean, I know it's been, obviously not.
I had no idea that you were a 911 dispatcher.
Thank you very much for your service.
Thank you.
Yes, but I've been dispatcher since 2009.
I work overnight.
It's, there's my award that I won.
People have to see that.
I mentioned that on the air.
It's a very cool gig.
It's definitely we have some nights where I don't work at all,
and some nights where I work like two weeks in 20, in like 10 hours.
It's a, I like working there.
It is a job that lets me talk to people when they're out at their lowest.
I get to really feel like I'm helping people.
Usually I'm talking to people on the worst days of their lives.
And it's tough and stressful, but it lets me definitely deal with online job a lot easier
because it has to have rolls off my back now.
Yes, I am dirty, we know.
All right.
Star Wars pod racing game, crashing coyote mentions, yes, you know what?
Crushing Coyote?
I agree.
I've definitely been intrigued about doing that as well.
So let's see.
We'll get here.
Any more in here we do.
Rain guitar.
I don't have DJ money, but I want to support.
Go get them PLD.
Hey, any dollars you send is awesome.
I appreciate the.
support any way you guys can do i mean i didn't when i got news i was going to do i was going to be
here solo i was like well this show might get the bed christian but i'll do my best um but you guys
are coming through i can't be more proud of you guys and can't be more appreciative of all you guys
coming in you're coming to play uh today derrick johnson man i never feel i need to beat everybody
this week let's go let's go i'll make the shrek show so worthwhile for me i'm going to
hold it over his head the entire time, even dressed as Shrek.
Michael D.81.
There he is. There's my guy.
That's right. That's right.
Michael D. 81. I always love Michael D.A.'s icons or whatever you call him there.
I look for those all the time.
I can't wait to see which ones comes up with next.
Wildwood was amazing, very dark at times, but a brilliant film.
I have heard, like Christian said yesterday, I have heard nothing but people say
phenomenal things about it. I've not heard.
bad thing and I've not even heard of nittling thing or even a it was good it's this is great um so I
want to take a look at that I'm trying to find time to go see it um I have to see on streaming
I will see it on streaming but I do want to try to support it in the theaters because I love that
I love that for it and I just keep hearing more and more good things about it so
let's see gretory dot true cheers PLD miss the stream mostly I'll watch it soon good to see you hosting
Tha Tha are you a star horse fan love your room
I agree. I haven't seen me on the show too much of them because definitely, yes, I'm a huge Star Wars fan. Yes, thank you. Star Wars stuff. All right?
My guy is my guy here, Honda-O-Nocka, right there. He's my favorite Disney era. He started to Clone Wars, so he's pre-Disney era.
But he's definitely my Star Wars animated character that I want to see come into live action.
I've been a Star Wars fan since I first saw The Empire Strikes Back was the first movie I saw when I was four years old.
My parents took me to the theater, and I was frightened of Yoda. Not Vader.
not Palpatine's image hologram when Luke says, you know, I'm not afraid.
And you do goes, oh, you have me.
You have me.
Yeah, I shit my pants at that point.
But I start, I love the movie and it may be love Star Wars from then on.
So I can't have anything bad to say about the franchise, even to this day.
Do I think everything's perfect about it?
No.
Do I think it's in great shape?
No.
But I still enjoy everything.
I still enjoy everything that comes out to a degree, even if I do have some criticism about it, which I do.
I always have some criticisms.
I tend to just concentrate more on the positive.
I'm a positive guy, folks.
And I'm positive.
We're going to beat Roka if we keep going.
So let's keep going.
Mike Joyce, and seven Roka sucks.
PLD rules.
Hashtag beat Roka.
I can get behind that.
I can get behind that.
Derek Johnson, this is who we are meeting this week.
Cario.
Everyone!
I wish I still had that.
that up for a while. I had that gift up there. Gary Oldman's everyone. I love that. Gary Oldman,
another one of those guys who, for me, is in that Brad Dorop, Ed Harris range. Like, I like to see him in
anything. He always makes anything watchable and makes anything good, great, as far as I'm concerned.
Alexander Wilson, 37, 24, PLD, the only Star Wars I like have been the Gilroy Projects, and I have no
faith in Filoni leading. What give you hope that he can deliver? I hate his writing.
well, if you hate is right, it's hard to make you much.
I hope, honestly.
But I will say that Faloni is still learning the live action side of things.
If you watch the animated stuff at all, it is geared younger,
but he definitely has a good hold of what Lucas had on Star Wars.
He's very much in the Lucas vein of Star Wars.
Gilroy is in a different style of Star Wars.
So maybe Star Wars isn't necessarily for you,
But I do think Dave Faloni is going to be an artist.
He loves art for art's sake.
So I have a feeling that as long as Disney allows him,
and that's going to be the main question,
whether Disney allows him.
I think he'll be one who will support artists telling their story.
Will he be too precious about the material like Christian thinks?
Maybe.
I think it definitely be too precious about anyone using the Soca.
I think that's for sure.
But Star Wars as a whole,
as long as it kind of doesn't go well outside the box,
I think he'll be fine with it.
I don't think he loved Andor for the same reasons
that some people said, no Star Wars Soup.
I get that to a degree.
But I do think he supports artists telling artists stories.
So that's the help I can give you.
That's the hope I can give you is that
I think he will support artists telling their stories.
And those kind of artists might include people like Tony Gilroy.
So hopefully that would be the case.
And Disney lets him
let's them cook, then that's what we will do.
We will do for sure.
Let's see.
Thank you guys.
Alan thing.
I'm doing a good job.
I hope everybody's having fun.
I hope we're having fun.
I got to say, I didn't know what to expect.
Like I said, if you missed the beginning of the show,
I woke up around 1140 to a bunch of texts from Christian and Kevin.
They went to the gamut of, well, I'm going to co-host this.
Kevin's going to be here.
Chris is going to be here.
And all of a sudden, Christian's like,
you want to host COSOLO?
And I was like, okay.
That's why I push it to 1230.
So I actually had to get ready to do this.
But I'm happy to see you guys here.
I'm appreciative to see you guys here for sure.
Yes, I want to throw it out there.
Even though it's not a super chat, I will throw Bill.
We have yoga coming next year's space balls too.
I am looking forward to that.
I have a friend who actually saw an early cut of space balls too.
And he said, I don't want to say who it is,
but he said that it was up to par.
It was a lot.
He was fearful that I wasn't going to hit the mark,
but it hit the mark and hit the mark well.
I'm not going to say anymore,
but that's what I've heard.
He's writing, Dark Smirk is writing.
I don't always writing.
I think I'll throw this up there,
and I'll say, I don't think his writing necessarily weak.
I think he's kind of like a George Lucas style
and that he's a good storyteller,
but he's not a great script writer.
I will agree with that.
I think I don't like the fact that he's in his focus
season two by himself as a writer.
I wish he had a writing room.
He was always best with the writer's room.
Simon Kimberg helped me write some of those rebels episodes,
which is why I have a little more faith in episode 10 through 12.
If Kinberg and Falunia are working together,
they have a good, they have a good gelling together.
His storytelling is good.
He does focus on some characters that probably shouldn't be focused on.
And that's his, I think the main problem with that is,
I think Falunni's got to get over himself.
And it's not that some people think that he loves
doing his own characters because he prefers them to the old characters.
And I don't think that's true.
From what I've gathered from interviews and hearing,
I just think he kind of gets afraid to touch the George Lucas characters
because they're not his characters.
He knows Asoka is like more his character.
He feels comfortable writing his character.
He doesn't feel as comfortable writing like characters that aren't his.
He was hesitant to use Anakin because that's George's character and stuff.
I wanted to get over that because I think he gets over that,
that'd be good for everybody.
So let's see
Let's go on here
Got some more Super Chats come in
We're still going
Appreciate you guys so much
I really
I appreciate you guys so much
I'll stick around to the end of the super chats
We already did hit 2 o'clock
So we've made it
I thought it was going to be out by 1
Because I thought
It'd be kind of a short show
But we're going down
Darian is a leg disabled
Darren good to see you
For me, Clea is hands down
The greatest Star Wars character
Ever puts the screen
And it's not even a contest
What's Say you
Clay is great
Clay is wonderful. I would love to see more from Clayah. I would love to see a follow-up.
Tony Joy, he's up for letting people use his characters, and I think it would be greater.
I think retroactively could incorporate and or even more into the saga to get some of those
characters, get Lutheran appearances, get Clay appearances. Yeah, she's definitely up there.
My favorite character, I think I have to say, is still Hondo-onaka. I love Hondo.
I know he's a side character and he wouldn't lead a show, but I want more Hondo. The more Hondo,
I get the better.
That episode of Clone Wars
when Maul and Vajra on the planet
chasing them down
and Obi-1 chases them.
It's like lines galore.
And Olin's like,
I'm going to go chase them?
And Hanel's looking at them
and just goes,
you want to leave them to chase the crazes?
Oh, okay.
And then Maul starts yelling at him
about being insolent.
He's like,
Insulin!
We have pirates.
We don't even know what that means.
It's fun.
But he's got a heart of gold,
too, using that Young Jedi arc
at the end there
when he returned the Young Jedi Cotuni
to Obi-1 and Kuru
at that moment where he loves the kids.
He loves Ezra and rebels.
I think he's got a heart of gold.
He's a prototypical Star Wars scoundrel
leaning more on the criminal side of thing
and the salvage side of thing.
But that's my personal favorite character.
But that all Yankee,
despite your sports allegiances.
Get it.
Thanks for all you do for Christian Harlov Channel.
PLD.
The Force will be with us Star Wars fans,
always 100%.
Thank you.
I appreciate that.
I love good fun with the Yankee fans out there and our sports fans out there.
I love a good ribbon, so to speak.
But I appreciate, I appreciate your appreciation.
Yes, sports will be with us always.
Yoshimitsu, my budget went to Kickstarter, but great show PLD.
Thank you so much, Yoshimitsu.
I appreciate that.
Like I said, you threw $2 and that's awesome.
I mean, anybody throwing a dollar in, awesome.
I really appreciate it.
I didn't expect much today, but you guys really come through.
And that's been, that's pretty impressive so far.
Alexander Wilson
3724. If you look at the
Nielsen String Report for Star Wars, the most
watched Star Wars movie was Robe 1 from the Disney era.
Lucas filmed these great writers from
this data.
Yeah, yeah, that's
I mean, I think that
definitely has a lot to do with it. I think also
a lot of people watched
Andor. A lot of people
in the zeitgeist and such in the popularity
sphere and it was winning awards
and that kind of thing. I think people were
naturally going to watch Robe 1
after they watch Andor because it goes right into it.
That definitely helped.
I mean, I'm not saying that's the only reason why,
but I think that was a zeit-gast moment.
But I wonder if Roe 1 is still the most watched Star Wars movie
or has that changed since then, since Ander has been done for a while?
So I know a lot of people, myself included, went right from Andor
and went into Roe 1.
And a lot of people did like re-reactions to it and things of that nature.
So, yeah, all right.
All right, anything else?
Last bit there.
It is time to get going, I think.
Last chance.
I'll give you another minute or two.
If anybody wants one more to throw in there, I will stick around.
But otherwise, I will sign off and say, thank you so much.
I really, really appreciate everything you guys did, DJ, my field general,
taking up the arms.
I'm calling it.
Time for you to go.
Taking up the arms, taking up the battle, and everybody.
rallying around the hashtag beat Roca
rallying cry
and hopefully we did it
and Mr. Christian would love to see that too.
So stay tuned.
Stay tuned to that.
And we'll be back soon.
All right, one more we got on.
Alexander Wilson. I'm sad that you said Star Wars
isn't for me, my mom and I watch the O.T all the time as kids
and the only thing we like now is Andor.
I always Star Wars not make products that bring in everybody like Andor.
Well, that's a great, I mean, that's a good point.
I'm not trying to say it's not for you.
I shouldn't say that.
That might be a thing.
I was saying if you don't like Dave Faloney's writing,
he's the guy in charge,
so it's hard for me to pitch Dave Faloni,
a Dave Polone led Star Wars.
If you don't like Dave Faloni,
that's hard for me to do.
He might say kind of like maybe sit back
and wait for him to be done.
I don't know if Andor is a project
that brings in everybody, though.
I think Andor is a project that was critically acclaimed.
There's a lot of people I know out there
who didn't love Andor
because it didn't feel like Star Wars to them.
And I understand that argument.
Gail Christian said he didn't,
but I understand that because there was,
it was definitely,
if you look at all of the shows and movies across Star Wars,
Andor was definitely an outlier as far as,
and I'm not talking about quality.
I'm talking about tonally what it was.
Yes, Empire Strikes Back was darker.
Yes, Revenge of the Sith was darker.
But they both still had kind of that swaggering Star Wars adventure.
This was definitely a much more of a grounded, dark political thriller.
That's not something Star Wars has done very often.
They did it well.
I did it well.
I think Dave Flonie is going to try to bring everybody together.
That's what he wants to do.
But he's going to be more of the...
I think the Dave Flanin, problem, which you probably agree with maybe,
and if it is the case, is he definitely gears it more towards the audience's 12-year-old boys
that George Lucas said.
And George Lucas did say that.
And I think Star Wars should be cared a little bit that way.
It should always be available to it.
I don't think Andorra is a great 12-year-old boy kind of thing.
Potential, that's what he's saying.
But I think Dave does overview that, perhaps.
And my pitch to you again, bring Indoor back,
going to bring Enno back from the limelight,
is if Theloni is an artist and he wants to be,
if he gets that control,
and Dave, Disney allows him that,
control, get artists to tell artist stories, and those artist stories will be ones that do
projects like Andor, like Mandalorian has its own niche. We'll have to see how it goes.
I don't want to, I'm not trying to shut you out. Let me say, I just, if you don't like Dave
Philoni, it's hard to, how do I pitch a Dave Polone lead universe for you? I think you should
give it a shot. And I don't know if you have you ever watched any of the animated stuff.
If you watch any animated stuff, let me know in the chat.
And we can go from there.
I can have more conversation that way, for sure.
But yeah, yeah.
Okay.
I was surprised by how you would argue and or isn't Star Wars.
I want to clarify it.
I don't make sure I wasn't.
I want to make sure that my line is clear.
I'm not saying it's not Star Wars.
I'm definitely because at its core, like I said,
It's originally trilogy coded.
It's the rebellion against a fascist empire.
At its core, it's about finding hope in dark times.
That's very Star Wars coded.
I just mean the tone itself is a little less.
Star Wars always had that kind of like fun, swaggering adventure tone with it.
That's it.
That's it.
So, yeah, this is what it is.
So you can have, I want to have all Star Wars.
Basically, I love Andor, would like to see more Andor, but I also want to see Skeleton Group.
That's the way I go with it.
Alexander Wilson coming in again.
Philoney's writing doesn't have any stakes or tension.
Andor had so much of that, not why it was good.
I disagree.
I think some of the Clone Wars season seven finale, the finale arc of the Clone Wars is one of my favorite Star Wars of all time.
That was Flolomey.
That was well-written.
Basically, what was us overdoing the siege of Mandelor?
I know there's a lot of tension there.
I thought it well done.
I think Rebels had some great tense moments for sure.
I mean, you disagree.
I can't.
That's subjective at that point.
I think it had some great moments in there.
Mandalorian, it's hard to see.
It's hard to see.
Asoka Season 1 definitely was a,
definitely has its, I can see the criticisms there.
That's him getting used to a live action setting
when he's used to having an animated setting.
I'm interested to see how season two goes.
We'll have to see.
Take each time in this moment.
developing still. He's obviously, he was animated first.
But we'll have to say
how to go's. So.
All right. So,
all right, guys. Let us,
I think we'll end it there.
At this point, again, you got to 50.
So I can't, I said
50. And you guys came through.
Thank you guys so much for supporting me.
Hope you had a fun today. I hope you enjoyed
yourselves. And we'll be back
next time. Of course, we'll see how
goes. Obviously, the schedule is ever changing.
Definitely, Kevin said, we'll be back
on Friday.
Christian
on Friday.
I'm not sure
what tomorrow
show is going to
be at this point.
I know
Christian does have
other screens.
We'll have to see.
You have a
member stream on
Friday for sure,
so we can't wait
to do that.
And hopefully you guys
will join us
for that.
We'll be back
next month
for even more.
And I guess
until then,
we will see you
next time.
Thank you again
so much.
If I follow me
at Paul
and Schuid Newsio
everywhere.
You sub to my
YouTube channel,
PLD projects.
If you'd like,
we will
be getting back this up eventually in the next month or two, hopefully, slowly rebranding
and building itself up.
If you like this, me and PJ do a great podcast together, I think.
And I guess otherwise, I hope we won.
I hope we won.
And if we didn't, it was definitely a worthwhile effort.
And I really, really, really, really, really, really appreciate it.
All right, guys, take care.
See you now.
Did you shit in there?
