Starting point is 00:00:02 Wait just a damn second. Denis will do is going to be directing Dune? Yes, we know that already. But he's also going to be directing Bond. That's right. Bond. Holy moly. He had expressed interest in it.
Starting point is 00:00:15 Not too long ago on the Josh Harwood show. Well, it looks like it's going to happen, guys. He's directing Bond. Damn. Superman put out a new scene today. I reacted to that one. We'll discuss the anticipation for how that one looks in general we got so much to discuss and we're going to see if step can do it can she
Starting point is 00:00:39 get out of the slump today can she defeat roxy strier we're going to find that out and more on today's show it's a christian harlough show everybody let's do it welcome back to the show today it is thursday joining me on the show today step subras here how you know step super good um Hopefully no internet problems. Oh, don't jinx it, lady. Don't jinx it, I tell you. It's right here. I can see the little guy, the little router doing its work.
Starting point is 00:01:21 Yeah. Don't ever look down and say I can see the little guy. Don't ever do it. You can see the little guy. So, so much going on. We had so much read of this news today that broke with Denise, which we'll discuss. We have. And no, Mike.
Starting point is 00:01:36 Now, again, he's. Or bond. Like, who is he? I know. He's unbelievable. but what I'll tell you is that you're going to have some battle today. So do you want to guess, you know it's rocks here already. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:01:49 Do you want to guess what the number is? Damn, if it was on some DC thing, plus for charisma in general, is it like 185 or something? Oh my gosh, like 215? What? You guys, like 250? Oh, it's 233 is what you're working with here today. 233. What was she doing? Well, so Roku was in the power position.
Starting point is 00:02:20 Rokka was at like a 162 and then Crystal came in and said no, no, no. And Crystal and a bunch of other Roxy over. So it's a tough one today. But hey, if anybody can do it, it's, it's Steph subra. Yeah. Yeah. What a story to go with. I just want to hear from you guys, though. That's the most important. I want to hear your questions. Yes, you're a good liar. All right. So here we go. is the story that broke today. I don't even remember. I was funny because we've been talking about, I think, Afonzo Koran for so long,
Starting point is 00:02:54 that I'm like, okay, what the hell is this story? And then Denise, I don't even remember him being rumored for it. I mean, clearly, Josh Harwitz brought it up at one point on the interview that they did, but it's now official. Dune Blade Runner,
Starting point is 00:03:10 2049, and president's director, Denis Villeneuve, has been tapped to direct the James Bond movie. The first one at Amazon MGM Studios. Villanute will also serve as executive producer alongside Tanya LePoint
Starting point is 00:03:22 with the pair joining already set franchise producers, Amy Pascal and David Heyman. The hiring brings to an end, a key question about who will take the helm of the next Bond feature, which marks the first since Eon handed over full creative control of the franchise to Amazon several months ago. Lanoe beat out a short list that included Edward Berger, Edward Wright, and Paul King for the gig.
Starting point is 00:03:46 In an official statement, he says, some of my earliest movie-going memories are connected to 007. I grew up watching Bond films with my father. Ever since Dr. Noah was Sean Connery, I'm a diehard Bond fan. To me, he's sacred territory. I intend to honor to the tradition, open the path for many new missions to come. It's a massive responsibility, but also incredibly exciting for me and a huge honor. Pascal and Heyman added their own. own statement. Denny has been in love with James Bond movie since he was a little boy.
Starting point is 00:04:13 It was always the dream to make this movie and now it's ours too. We're lucky to be in the hands of this extraordinary filmmaker. It's also in currently prepping Dune Messiah, which will shoot across much of the second half of the year ahead of late 2026 release. His hiring isn't expected to interrupt the process on that. Amazon will now search for a screenwriter to work with Villeneau to write the direct film, write the next film, which will likely, won't hit the cinemas until late 2027,
Starting point is 00:04:43 the earliest, more likely, 2028. Project will be the overall 26th title in the franchise and the first since 2021's No Time to Die, directed by Carrie Joya Fulkinaga. Okay, so I think there's two, I mean, there's a lot of people who benefit from this. The two people mostly are James Bond fans and Denise fans. I mean,
Starting point is 00:05:06 how is this not one of the biggest wins in this franchise history this is a major win totally this like perks my ears up because i fall in the latter category of more of a dene fan i i have not been it's not because i don't like james bond i just haven't experienced the movies so i'm sure there's a lot to love in it obviously the fandom is massive and i've actually found out how massive it is I feel like this year in the wake of its uncertainty of who's going to, whose hands it's going to be in next. But coming off the heels of Dune and like taking a massive, massive world and being able to build it out the way that he did, it just feels like that's kind of what I would really be looking for in a Bond movie and be interested to see because I, I know kind of the schick, but it's cool to be like, you've got to do something new while also respecting its legacy. and I feel like he's the perfect person to do that.
Starting point is 00:06:05 I cannot wait. Cannot wait for this iteration of bond. I've always been like, I remember my dad, anytime Bond movies would come out, my dad would be like, hey, the Bond movies come on. You want to go check it out? Pierce, Brosnan, or whatever. And I always enjoyed them.
Starting point is 00:06:22 And the Daniel Craig one was the first time when I started to get really psyched for them when they came out. And I liked what they did and how they brought that kind of, intensity and how he evolved into the James Bond that we all knew and loved. This and they've had a lot of great directors that have worked there in the past. It's the first time I think that director gets brought on and I go, oh man, this is more so for me.
Starting point is 00:06:52 Exactly what you just said. I'm so excited for the fact that he's directing it that it's elevated bond to me in such a way. because what is his version of Bond look like, plus the fact he's been very, very clear that he's a massive fan of the franchise. And it's not always a necessity to have that. Well, but sure is a benefit. If you have somebody like that, that's that locked into it, that the key words, wants to have honor to the character and really understands what the character is and
Starting point is 00:07:21 really wants to dive deep into it. And now that he's got his, he's got his claws into it, if you will, he'll probably, if this one does well, which let's say what it's going to do well, he's probably going to want to stick on again the same way that he did with Doom. And now the questions are really going to be who is his James Bond, right? Who is his bond? And I still lean forward. I really do think it's going to be Aaron Taylor Johnson. I really do. Huh. Have they worked together before? It's a great question. I mean, clearly not in Dune.
Starting point is 00:08:03 I'm trying to think of the other movies that he's done. I don't know. I don't know. I probably tell us if that's the case, but I think Aaron Tilly Johnson will be bond, but I think that
Starting point is 00:08:16 no matter who it is now, I think that he's starting to get that same kind of reputation that Nolan is meaning that when a cast remember hears that he's directing it, they tell their agent,
Starting point is 00:08:33 hey, don't push so hard for the salary. I want to do a movie with him. You know what I mean? Like there's some franchises, it's like, my client's not doing it for less than this, but for a Nolan movie, they'll do it for $83 on a candy bar. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:08:48 And because it's Nolan. That's why his cast are always so big. And I think that Denise is one of those people, too. You mean, look at the way his cast fights for him and even the fact that you and I both agree that it's a damn crime that he wasn't nominated for an Oscar and got snub to hell last year. Josh Prolin felt the same way. And Josh Prolin fought for it.
Starting point is 00:09:08 So yeah, I think this is such a major one. I really do wish Mike was here to get his talk to. I know. Because he's not the biggest dude fan. But I would be, it would be crazy if he didn't like any of, you know, like a rival or Sicario or any of his other blade runner. I feel like there's going to be something you like or appreciate, especially just his filmmaking style in general.
Starting point is 00:09:35 But it's kind of pleasant to hear that he wasn't turned off by the massive pressure of fulfilling a franchise like Dune. And then James Bond is different, but similar in terms like people really, really ride for the original source material and feel very, very protective about it. And I could imagine that being exhausting. We've seen so many different writers or creators.
Starting point is 00:10:00 You know, they'll dip their toes in a massive franchise and then they won't do it again because it's just people are so toxic. And I mean, he got such great reception, but he did get snubbed. But it wasn't like, it wasn't like, I mean, for the most part, all of us were like, we love what you did with Dune. But yeah, I think it's just such a cool choice. I do wonder who he is going to pick. I guess that's the main question. Who is your bond? And that'll be like the biggest, one of the biggest searches.
Starting point is 00:10:30 I can imagine that being like the coolest role ever for if I was a male actor. And think about that. If you're already been having conversations with Amazon and people have been kind of sniffing around. And let's say you're Aaron Taylor Johnson, right? And you've been having these conversations, whatever. And now you hear this news that Denise is on. You go, all right, because it's a great negotiating tool for Amazon. It's a great negotiating tool now because they,
Starting point is 00:10:55 go, hey, you want to work with Denise? And they go, yeah, I do. You know, fine. You guys, it's a good bargaining chip for them and how they're like, well, look, you got a chance to work with one of the best filmmakers working right now. And a guy who's going, you know this movie's going to be solid. You know, you know this is going to be a movie that is going to get so much more. I mean, it's already bond. I mean, Bond already has eyes on it. Who's going to be Bond? What's it going to be? where they're going to cover it, who's going to play these certain agents that, that's going to be the interesting thing to see how you put a talent like Deney on there and the cast is going to be phenomenal.
Starting point is 00:11:36 It's going to be phenomenal. And look what he did with Dune. Yeah. Yeah, I know. And it was like, I feel like a lot of people were at the time, it's hard to remember because everyone's a Timothy Shalamee fan now. But I remember really liking Timothy Shalamee and the. few of the few movies I saw him in before, like call me by my name and just being excited for him,
Starting point is 00:12:01 but a lot of people were like, why are you picking him for Paul? Why? This doesn't make any sense at all. And then I think by the end of it, we were like, oh, okay. And then now look at it. So maybe it will be something, obviously, Aaron Taylor Johnson's kind of been massive for a long time, but I feel like in the past year, he's really, really been in a ton of stuff. And so it would be a good time it would align well i hope so i mean like i'm with you i didn't care at all that they were making doom i just didn't care because i i always had the um in my mind it was the david lynch one and i'm growing up and seeing that one because it was science fiction so excited and it was like it was too weird for me i didn't pick up on it didn't know i i just it didn't respond to it as a
Starting point is 00:12:48 kid and i never went back to it was just too strange and i remember mark riley who had read the book love the book said dude this is what basically star wars kind of came from you would love it if they if someone can do it the right way and i always remember talking about that and then they announced the need doing it and i still was like okay we'll see and i'll just that feeling when i was watching dune and watching how that was put together and i and i still i said different at the time but i regret not seeing it in the theater at the time i've gone back and watched it on the big screen with winston and i'm glad that i did that but it's just such an achievement and i'm And I think both those movies together, it's really, it's really one big movie, one and two.
Starting point is 00:13:30 This is a masterpiece and what he did and how he did is some of the best science fiction we've seen in a very, very long time. And what is he going to do with James Bond? You know what I mean? Like, I can't wait to see what he does with James Bond. This is fantastic news. If you're a James Bond fan, you are celebrating right now. If you're a movie fan, you're celebrating right now. This is an absolutely spectacular, spectacular announcement.

I love True Classic. That's how I'm going to start this. I have fallen in love with them. It feels amazing and it's priced so guys everywhere can step into confidence without stepping out of their budget. It really sets them apart. It's not just about the fit or the fabric.

True Classic was built to make an impact, whether it's helping men show up better in their daily lives, going back to undeserved communities, or making people laugh with ads that don't take themselves too serious. They lead with purpose. So I have been loving True Classic. I got them. I have they, I've got a bunch of things that, again, like I said, shirts, pants. And I told my wife the other day, I said, I don't know if I want to go anywhere else right now. True Classic. I mean, I'm telling you, I went out to go out with some friends. I was wearing, this is, True Classic. T-shirt, they fit really nice.
Starting point is 00:15:54 They just comfortable. It's good material. I love it. And you don't have to worry about it. Get rid of the overpriced designer brands. Ditch the disposable fast fashion. I'm telling you, this is me telling you. telling you straight up, I love this brand. I love true class. I really do. So comfortable
Starting point is 00:16:31 right now, even feeling the fabric. Go check it out. Links in the description. A place. All right. Good news, Steph. Yes. You don't have zero. Okay. The badness is about you're at 11, so you need about 100 or sorry, about 222 or something in the time. Gosh, we can do this. We can do it. I'll tell you you can do this. Superman can do this, potentially making a billion dollars.
Starting point is 00:17:01 A new scene today that dropped. I think he actually came from ABC or something. But it's a confrontation scene between Lex and Superman. And essentially, Lex is talking to somebody. Superman burst into the room. Keeps asking him, where is crypto? Where is crypto to where clearly Lex has done something with his super dog and he's kind of laughing at him and, you know, under his breath.
Starting point is 00:17:25 And there's what I said. Did you watch this whole scene? Yeah. So what is similar? And I forget, Steph, forgive me, but you, have you seen the Richard Donner, Christopher Reeve movies? I don't know. I think they were on in the TV, but no.
Starting point is 00:17:45 Yeah. My mom is a diehard super fan, Superman fan. I'm so upset. I know. No, the fact that you don't, that I don't live here anymore. I know, I'm with you.
Starting point is 00:17:57 And that I'm doing these, these, I would have, be having you in there all the time, especially for those. So this reminds me, there's a scene in the classic Superman movie, where Lex is planning his attack and he kind of lures Superman into his lair.
Starting point is 00:18:15 A Superman comes in and bursts through the door, knocks the thing open. And this reminds me to that. And it's like, perfect kind of baiting. And there's so much in this scene that I really like. I like seeing that side
Starting point is 00:18:28 of Superman with the, he's getting pissed. He's angry. It's also, don't mess with a guy's dog. He's dog alone. And there's that. Plus the fact, this, like, Lex knows exactly what he is doing in this scene. And there's that gun humor in there, which is kind of what I was talking about
Starting point is 00:18:45 in the trailer where it's like, how is it going to be used? is it going to be used out of place or is it going to be used in a way that you're like that would make sense that that that you could use humor in that moment and that will work and this is my example of that he says what dog what dog is i mean the cape on and so he's like yeah i know i know what you're talking about you're silly bastard i'm and he kind of messes with him and i was like that's such a gun type of joke there but which works really liked the scene how about yourself yeah i really i really like how we're seeing just a greater range from superman just in the trailers alone and i've always because my like i said my mom's in a die-hard superman man she has like figurines in her office like she's the one who got me into sci-fi fantasy and but i always was like you know you want to see a little bit more spice from superman like he still is you know he has the human soul, even though he is not from Earth.
Starting point is 00:19:50 So I think that's what's making me so excited about this. Not like the other renditions weren't great or anything. I just like that it is a little bit different and kind of exactly what I was looking for from this character. And, you know, we've seen it with the greatest comic book movies ever. And I'm thinking of Joker. It's like your superhero is only as good as your villain. And it feels like this Lex is so annoying.
Starting point is 00:20:16 And just such a dick. And like so just gets on your skin. And that's what you need. I know already from just the trailers. And you can tell that his whole, he is just consumed by his hatred in Superman. He's consumed by it. And you can tell.
Starting point is 00:20:33 And I loved how he kept his composure the whole time. Superbans are screaming at him. He's not screaming at him back. He's just kind of, he stays calm. And he's like, he's almost anticipating this was coming. You know,
Starting point is 00:20:43 he might, he might very well be. I don't know. You got to see the rest of it. Yeah. that's what it seems like like you just fell into his hands kind of. It seems like a trap. He knew that was,
Starting point is 00:20:52 you know, of course this guy's kind of looking for his dog. And I thought it was great. And this is what you get when you get a Nicholas Holt in your movie. Like this is like how he was even considered for Superman to me is crazy. Like I know. He screams Lex. Screams Lex.
Starting point is 00:21:09 He does. But it's like you've seen him in other stuff and he's all a lot of the times cast as the sweet boy who's in love. You know, like it's like this cute little lover boy, but man, you just let you, you, you rip the hair off and all of a sudden you're like, this is. Well, he's played a douche before and he plays a good douche. I just don't think he has a look of Superman. I think he has the look of Lex. Yeah. Yeah, I agree.
Starting point is 00:21:35 I agree with that. And seeing cornswath, it's just like he looks phenomenal as Superman. Yeah. He really does. There were a few early screens. I mean, last night I know both real rejects and our own Roxy Stryor went and checked it out and saw it. Obviously, they haven't said anything nor can they say anything about it just yet. So screens are starting to come in.
Starting point is 00:21:57 I got I got pissed off last night, Steph. Why? So I went to see Jurassic World Rebirth, which I'll talk about in the next segment. But when I was there, it's like critics really sometimes they really, certain critics can get under my I mean, they really do. Like, there's this thing that they do with the conversations that they have and like, it was the whole reason Mark and I got into doing reviews in the first place back with Shmose is because it's like that holier than now opinion that if, well, that's what
Starting point is 00:22:32 I wrote in the page and that's, that's what it is. And there was a guy there last night that was talking, there's an older gentleman and he was talking about Megan, part two, which I haven't seen. And he said, yeah, he's asking another colleague. colleague if she had seen it. She's like, no. And he was kind of going off of why he didn't like it. And he starts going into territory. He's like starts going to spoiler territory. And he's talking loud. And I'm going in my head. I'm like, stop talking about this movie because you don't know if anyone else has seen it yet. You got a chance to see it. But you don't know if anyone else did.
Starting point is 00:23:05 So he stopped. That's good. And then he goes, what about Superman? Do you see Superman yet? And she goes, well, no, not yet. And she didn't know. She goes, she was what studio is doing that? He goes, what? Wonder Brothers. It's like this is what. DC is counting on. I'm like, okay, he knows. He understands the gravity of it. So if you know the gravity of it, why in the world would you continue your conversation
Starting point is 00:23:25 by talking about the movie? He starts off and he's like, you know, it starts with, and he does, and I'm going, and I literally go, I go, ah, and I was playful. I was playful. And I go, aha, spoilers, spoilers. And he's like, yeah. And he keeps talking.
Starting point is 00:23:41 And I'm like, what are you doing, guy? I'm like, I want to see this movie. and no one else has seen it. Stop talking about the movie. And if someone goes, there's crypto night involved. And he started, I'm like,
Starting point is 00:23:52 and I walked out of the thing to go to the bathroom. And I'm like, I didn't want to make it. Like I said, the guy was in like his 60s and 70s, when he confront the guy over Superman.
Starting point is 00:24:01 Right. I'm like, I'm going to go away and I'm going to go to the restroom. Hopefully I'll come back and he stops talking about it. And thank God he did. But it's like, lower your voice.
Starting point is 00:24:10 I'm not going to tell you not talk about it. Like you want to talk about it with your friend. She doesn't care. fine but keep your voice down like what do you know like what are you doing why would you start to talk about and and i don't want to know your opinion yet i don't want to know your opinion yet because a it's one thing if you and by the way embargo is still up so you talking about it that loud in front of other people is no no i don't want to hear your thoughts about it guy and even even if you know i did maybe i'll go to your site and read your article
Starting point is 00:24:45 Be considerate. There's somebody sitting right there and you're talking loud. I don't want to know about the movie. And the way that he looked to me when I was like, and I was, and Steph, I swear to you, I was super playful.
Starting point is 00:24:55 I'm like, ah, spoiler, spoilers, you're good. Yeah, I know. And he's like,
Starting point is 00:24:59 no, and kept going. I was steam coming out of my ears. And I'm like, no, I would, that would have really, really,
Starting point is 00:25:07 really grinded my gears. That is so, I hate when people have no awareness. It was lame. It was really lame. I'm like, we get it, guy. You're interviewing people and you got an opportunity to see it. You're going to interview the cast.
Starting point is 00:25:21 You went to the junket screening. That's awesome. I think that's great. You're clearly someone who you're getting a lot of interviews. You're talking about how you interviewed this person, that person is great, good. And you probably, I don't even know who the person. Maybe I'm supposed to know who he is. I don't know who he is.
Starting point is 00:25:35 And I was just like, dude, you can't do that. It's not right. Talk about the movie. If I saw Superman that day and I was talking to him was like, hey, you know, I saw Superman. And, and a lot of times when I tell anybody, they'll be like, tell me, tell me, what did you think? Or are like, you sure you want to know?
Starting point is 00:25:54 Yeah, yeah. I'm like, all right, I won't spoil it for you, but, because you don't want to, now there's this little bit that I heard from that guy how it opens. I'm like, oh, man, I know how it opens. Yeah, that's so stupid. It was really lame. Man, that would piss me off.
Starting point is 00:26:08 It was lame. It was lame. But nonetheless, enough of it. You know, okay, good, good, good. I got his opinion on it. And like I said, I don't know who the person is. So maybe, and I would assume from the way he was talking about Megan and the other stuff, too, I don't line up with his taste.
Starting point is 00:26:23 So I either are going to feel that way. Right, right. Yeah. It looks like he took Megan 2.0 way too serious and that's a red flag. Yeah. And again, I don't want to say what he said because I don't want to say what he said because it'll spoil the movie for those people who want to see it. So I don't want to do that yet. And it's like, again, if I see what I see.
Starting point is 00:26:44 said, hey, okay, you don't get my non-spoiler review right now of it. He didn't really spoil the movie for Megan. He just, he, I didn't want to hear his review. You just could kind of catch his vibe from that. Yeah, I don't want to hear his review. It's like, I didn't, I didn't sign up to your newsletter. It's, it's like, yeah, I would rather like have a whole, we, okay, would you rather him or the Gen Z TikToker group that you were in the theater with that one time?
Starting point is 00:27:14 And is he talking the whole time? He's talking for the start, the entire start, the commercials. The influencers, because. Yeah, I'm with you. Because I'm going to take, I'm going to take information out with me, with him. And it's, and I'm going to know things that I won't. The influencers is just like, well, you know, I got a brand deal. Sure, whatever.
Starting point is 00:27:42 Tell me about your brand deal. I don't care. What do I care about? It's all the camera brand deals and this and posts. And it's like, I don't want to hear about it. But I'd rather, I mean, it's not going to ruin any experience for me going to see a movie the way that this guy did. It was, it wasn't great. Anyway, but I want to know what you guys think about this scene, Superman.
Starting point is 00:28:04 Did you like the scene? Did you not like the scene? Put your thoughts in there. I got to know. Comment. We're going to put this up on the clips channel. We'll put this up on. And then you guys can comment.
Starting point is 00:28:14 on the on the live stream, you can climb out on the replay. So let me hear what you say. Steph, I mentioned to you that I saw Jurassic World rebirth. I want to double check as I like that. I want to make sure that they want to look at the embargo. I don't know if I can get my social reaction.
Starting point is 00:28:29 I'm assuming that they did like a couple fan screenings too. So I want to see what the embargo is. Give me a second. Embargo. Following up with a review bar. So the review embargo, actually no. No, no, it's not. It's June 30th. It's June 30th. Oh, bummer.
Starting point is 00:28:48 Yeah, just the social reaction is June 30th. So I can't really talk about the whole thing. I just give my initial thoughts was that, you know, it's like. So I agree with Koi and what Koi said. It is the better. It is the, it's probably the best of the Jurassic worlds. Maybe on probably, I don't know if it's as good as the first. I like the first one. So the first Jurassic world, so it's better than the two sequels.
Starting point is 00:29:19 And it follows more of the, um, more of the Jurassic Park structure, more of Jurassic Park three structure, of anything else too. Scarlett Johansson's good. Um, of course, Marshall Lee is good. I didn't care about any of the humans. I didn't care about their stories at all. And I, I really, it just made me.
Starting point is 00:29:45 me wish more so it was a smaller thing some of the there really is there is a freaking dinosaur that looks like a damn rancor so stupid it's like this mutant stupid Jurassic world the the mutations cut it out um anyway because so i don't know if you remember the first of like the newer king Kong movies yes exactly is it like that where you don't care about the the humans yeah and but and i also felt like there was a similar beat with like the little girl having a connection with the dinosaur was that's in the trailer yeah and kong yeah that's in the trailer yeah yeah that's in the fully in the trailer i mean man this is a lot of forgettable stuff it's like okay one thing i said though at the end of the trailer i mean my um out of the theater reaction was here's the thing do it did i did i like this
Starting point is 00:30:41 movie not really will i go and see another one if they make another one yes That's the power of Jurassic World and Jurassic Park. Yeah, yeah. I'll watch these until they stop making them. It's like, okay. Yeah, I'm going to see it too. Yeah. I'm going to see it too, and I'm going to have fun.
Starting point is 00:30:58 I'm sure it'll be fun. Yeah, I'll tell you what was fun. And well, before we didn't do that, well, Jurassic World, like I said, there's only so much I can say. The embargo's still up on it. But those are my initial thoughts. It's my social kind of thoughts. So put your thoughts in there, what you want to see from the movie.
Starting point is 00:31:13 Do you want to see it? Do you not want to see it? Let's say you. Yes, that the other thing I did see, which a lot of that I can talk about, I just want to put the review out in a little bit. I put the out of the theater reaction out already, and that's F1. Loved it. Absolutely loved it.
Starting point is 00:31:28 Oh, yay. Loved it. It was, I said the same thing I said about like Top Gun Maverick. It's not as good as Top Gun Maverick, but I said the same thing I did about Top Gun Maverick, and that's like, this is what I miss about movies. It's like, this is like that old school. I love what Joseph Kaczynski's doing right now. I love what he's doing right now.
Starting point is 00:31:49 I love how he's making movies. He's making movies like this old school way of this, like these old blockbuster movies. And it's just like I talked about it the other day on with, with Brett and Chris Carr yesterday. It's like, it's like the perfect pitch of how, what the story is about.
Starting point is 00:32:08 Damson Idris gets such a great spotlight shined on him and this. And you see why he's getting this hype behind him. fantastic in it and I'll watch it again as soon as it comes out on Apple I'll watch it again for sure it's it's it's a really you that one I'm gonna tell you right now if you and Harry have a choice you like what should I go see in the theater pick that one yeah we're seeing that one this weekend yes because I'll tell you it was I don't know if you knew this or not but the heat today is our first day that it's been nice but the last two days have been like in the hundreds right yeah you guys have
Starting point is 00:32:43 like the highest heat wave in years, right? Brutal. Brutal. So the other night I told the audience about this. You could see it in the end of the theater reaction. And most every other comment is rightfully so pointing it out. I was, I was, I was sweating like, you know, like John Roker trying to win a super chat contest. It was like, I was sweating so bad because the air conditioner was out at the movie theater.
Starting point is 00:33:13 It was they gave us fan stuff like fans and you still like the movie that means this thing was good it's like a two and a half hour movie and i was like sitting there they gave you fans it's all they had you know it's all they had i applaud the effort that's a sweet effort you don't blame them they get they gave everybody like the they give wristbands to people so you could get anything you wanted at the theater like oh my god like i appreciate that i really do that's good customer or service. 100%. And I got myself four bottles of water, which was the smartest. I was so
Starting point is 00:33:48 and the smart waters, not Desani. Don't get, I don't care if they're never a sponsor ever. Don't drink Desani. They have, they put salt. They told everybody about this. They put salt in the damn thing. It's the only water you'll find in the back. It says salt. It's the reason why you want so many of them. And for the smart waters,
Starting point is 00:34:07 I crushed like four of them. And normally if I crushed one of them, I'm peeing like soon. Didn't pee once because It was so damn hot. Oh, my body was just recycling it. Two and a half hours didn't have to pee once. And I'm just killing four bottles of water. But if it was Jurassic World that I would have had to sit with,
Starting point is 00:34:25 I don't know if I would have stayed. I don't know if I would have stayed. Dang. Are you? Yeah. It just, yeah, those conditions are rough. Yeah. Are you, are you, um, because you, it's like so funny just picturing you,
Starting point is 00:34:41 you have the most hysterical story. on your way to these viewings, is this like the most alone time you've spent, like since you've moved? Or are you now going with friends or is it you usually just alone at these screenings? When I go to the screenings, it depends.
Starting point is 00:34:57 Some screenings, if somebody, like I've had a few people ask me for like plus, be plus one on certain movies and I've taken people to go see, um, movies for sure. But like, I like,
Starting point is 00:35:07 I do like the alone time of it all sometimes. Like for this one, like this was in a theater. It was like on second. Avenue this year is not like one of the normal theaters that they screen these movies for. So I actually had to walk from Penn Station to this theater, which is only about a 25-minute walk, which is not that bad, but in a hundred-degree weather, it'll get you. But like I said, I was walking through Korea Town.
Starting point is 00:35:29 It was a nice walk. I didn't mind it at all. And it was at nighttime, you know, so it wasn't too bad. But the way there, I'm going, okay, this will all be worth it because I'm going to get into air conditioner, little that I know. Did you freeze? Please tell me you froze. You did.
Starting point is 00:35:47 We were waiting for this. I'm back. I asked a question and dipped. So I don't know what you heard. But I got there and it was, it was brutal. But it was, the movie was worth it. I was locked in. I was engaged the whole way through.
Starting point is 00:36:13 And, you know, it is what it is. So that one I recommend to everybody. Go and check it out. F1 is, I hope, I really hope it does well this weekend. I really do it. It's a, it's a movie that I encourage everyone to go and see. It's just that old school filmmaking. It does make me very excited also for the Joseph Kaczynski, David Grush,
Starting point is 00:36:33 UAP movie that he's doing. It's another Apple. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Apple's doing cool things. And it seems to be like that's Brad Pitt's new home.
Starting point is 00:36:43 I feel like he's had like a few things. that's a smart move to lock in yeah he did wolves with them and and it's smart for them that's that's where like the old movie star can live right look at what like owen wilson is doing over there with right that show and because i always say this apple has f you money which means that yes of course they want to make a profit of course they do but they don't sweat like me in a movie theater without any air conditioning when they start to you know one of their projects doesn't do very well Oh, what? Flowers of the Killer of Flowers Moon didn't do very well. Oh, no. What are we going to do? What are we going to do? We're going to put some more technology out in the market.
Starting point is 00:37:20 It's going to make all that money back. And then our little side project of the stuff that we're doing on the network, we're put all the effort into it that we can. And hopefully we make profit doing this, getting more notice on it, getting more people to sign up to Apple and get our stuff. And it's all LinkedIn. They're doing very, very sweet things. It's why they can buy Lucas film tomorrow if they wanted to. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, it's just a great movie. Like does it, is it completely different, like where you can't compare it to something like Ford versus Ferrari or is it?
Starting point is 00:37:50 No, it's, it's, it's predictable. I mean, it's, but that's okay. It's, it's, it's, I should say it's, it's predictable at times and it's like formulaic at times, but, but it's okay. It's like one of those things, there are times you want to see a movie and you're like, oh man, I hope this happens and then it happens. And you go, right, right, right. That feels good. That feels good.
Starting point is 00:38:09 That feels good that happen. And you're like, oh, I wonder, this is, and then they throw you, couple times and you're like, oh, oh, they went that way. Okay, it makes sense. And they set some things up and they go, all right, that seems like it's going there. And it does. And you go, cool. A great.
Starting point is 00:38:22 And, but the thing is, it's the races, right? The real question is, do the races work? And yes, they do. You feel like you're sitting in the damn car with him when he's moving around. Oh, that's awesome. It's like the way that it's shot is phenomenal. Plus, the fact, apparently he was just like Tom Cruise. He was like riding in the cars and doing that stuff.
Starting point is 00:38:39 And it was, I can't. It's up there right now, I think because I know that there's going to be movies that are probably better quality, not actually a better quality, but better, newer stories, different stories that throw you off and Oscar nominated and stuff that is going to come out, that people are going to be raving about. But like, this is the kind of stuff that I go to the movies for, right? So I think, right, it's like this is like my number, I can't tell this is number one or sinners is number one. But I, because I'm so fresh with that one that I'm putting at number one right now. But I could reverse that tomorrow with sinners.
Starting point is 00:39:14 I've seen it already twice. I don't know. So those are the two that I really enjoyed this year a lot. And it's like, I loved going to the movies to watch them. Yeah, that's awesome. So F1, guys, what do you think? You're going to check it out this weekend. Are you going to the theater?
Starting point is 00:39:31 I want to see the comments. Yes. No. What say you? Except I had a really good conversation yesterday with my buddy. Andrew Freed, who has, he produced, obviously, so many different things, whether it's chef's table, welcome to Rexum, which is on right now, the Val Doc, you know, he's a cheer, last chance, you, so many different things he's done. I call him Midas, because he, and he just
Starting point is 00:40:00 did the Logan Paul Brothers thing to the story I told about a punching bag and stuff, too. It was his event. And the, and the audience always liked when Andrew came on because he tells him about like the business and stuff and and he just really goes into how that stuff works. He talked about Val Kilmer for a while and I recorded that with him. We're going to air it probably. I don't know if I'm going to air it on Monday next week or Tuesday next week. I'm not sure yet, but it's a really good conversation and I think people should tune into it. So I'll put that up next week.
Starting point is 00:40:32 And then the other thing is a better. You're good stuff you're going to say. No, I'm excited to hear that. I like those types of conversations with someone who's just like interesting and then does interesting things. Yeah. It's it's, it was a good conversation. I think you'll enjoy it. The other thing I was going to tell you is that we're getting close with this, with this script.
Starting point is 00:40:54 Exciting. I wrote our scene the other day. And like I feel like inside of that scene will follow a lot of it. But like I said, I think we're going to do a lot of improv, me and you. Right. Yeah. No, that text, I didn't remember. probably do but i knew exactly what you met yeah it's gonna be it's like yeah that scene that scene is
Starting point is 00:41:15 crucial to like kind of like the whole thing that is going down in that in that script so i'm your 13th reason yes 100% what i what i've been telling people though is that like it's like i've been reading up on what what chris duckman did he went like through this campaign and and got the audience behind him to to do it and produce this movie. And we're not going to need that kind of money, I don't believe. But we're going to do, there's two things that I was talking to my writing partner today. And it's an interesting conversation because the way that,
Starting point is 00:41:48 and I'm curious what the audience thinks about this. Because the way that it is today, right? It's like you used to look at things the way things were pitched and you'd go in, you pitch it. First of all, you have to pitch with an idea. You have to pitch with a script, you know. And then later on down the line,
Starting point is 00:42:02 you could pitch with a little concept stuff, whatever, too. you're at a spot where not only can you pitch with an actual full pilot if you wanted to, right? The other thing in my writing partner, I were talking about today, if we wanted to, if like, because the chances are if we shot this thing, we're going to shoot it in the way that we're going to want it to make it look like the bear. I want to make it look like a Netflix thing. I want to make it look like high quality stuff that you would watch and not just because sometimes you can turn on something like, oh, that clearly it's, it's digital.
Starting point is 00:42:33 it looks like it doesn't feel like a television show. I wanted to feel like a television show. And I'm also not delusional in the fact that if we shot this thing with her and I, that most places that you go to, if it has her and I in the leads, are going to go, well, we like the show, but we want to put so-and-so in the lead and so-and-so else in the lead, right? So our thought is,
Starting point is 00:43:03 okay, there's that option. But the other option is we're at a time and place that if we can do it, and the audience likes it, we can just do a whole damn season ourselves. What if you could do something like that? What if the story was that you have these two people who put this thing together and with the way that the internet is and the audiences that you can build and the support that you can get that you can film,
Starting point is 00:43:25 if the audience wants it, you can film a season. And almost like what Cobra Kai did, but they had YouTube behind them. right? What if you could do something like that? It's kind of like there's it's like just and I was thinking about this morning. I'm like you have an idea and you have the ability to do things and like do I need this thing to be a massive huge critical hit? No what I want to do what I like that. Of course I'd like that. But what do I want to do with it? I want to bring it alive. I want to have life. You know, I want to be able to say, you know what I did? I put together something. I had these
Starting point is 00:44:06 characters and it brought it to life. Like that should be the win. And if you can do that with people saying, yeah, yeah, yeah, I like what you're doing here and then you get a support, but put to people like, I have a role for Brett that he's going to crush. I have a role for a lot of different people that are going to be really, I think it's going to be good to use all these people that we have. And I'll I'll make some phone calls to some celebrity friends and see if I'm going to get them to do cameos and stuff too. But I'm excited. I'm excited. Yeah, I think it's perfect.
Starting point is 00:44:35 I feel like when someone who's talented is making the thing they would want to see, then you're really cooking. Yeah. That's what like is exciting. And just hearing you talk about it, it's like, oh, yeah, that's why everyone wants to be a part of it and hear more about it. Because it's like, you could feel it. Yeah. And I pitched, I pitched it to you about the ideas. too. I picture my friends and stuff too. And like my, my friend, Sam who's on the show,
Starting point is 00:45:02 I was, I was telling her about it. And she goes, and when I was telling her like the idea of the pilot, because I was curious, I was like, what is it, what is a person who's not involved in this and doesn't really know about how this stuff works? And Sam is also about as honest as you get. Sam's like, I don't know if I'd watch that, but good luck, right? And she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she looks, she looked at me. She's like, do I just say things? I was like, I want to see it. And I'm like, I'm like, okay. So I'm excited. I'm excited to get it going. The goal is to get the script done by the end of July and then we
Starting point is 00:45:37 can start pushing it forward. So and then once we know. That's fast. Yeah, well, the script I want to be done by the end of July so I can get it to directors, get that I, well, there's one particular director I have in mind, but had the conversation with already. I'm going to get it to that person, let them read it. And if they enjoy it, um, and, like it, then basically start to say, okay, what do we, A, need to do pilot? B, what do we need if we want to do full season? Like, those are the two things that I would ask. Right.
Starting point is 00:46:12 Yeah. Yeah. Pilots everything. Yeah. So that's it. And again, it's that I also, like, and I feel like this is a kind of thing that happens to me all the time, right? Like if it's like, there's always the thing that kind of says,
Starting point is 00:46:26 this is what you need to really put some energy into because you can make it come alive. And that's how I felt with the Shmo's No Show. That's how I felt with the Shmowdown. That's how I felt with a lot of these things. It's like, hey, you need to bring that to life right now. And I know the feeling. And that's the feeling I'm having right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:50 And it's like. No, that's like I was just thinking that that's exactly what you do with your show. And it's such a important skill. And I feel like it's the difference between what succeeds and what does it and why everything you've done has like kind of been better than the last thing you did. Because that resonance is crazy. Especially as a creator. Like I feel like that's half the battle is learning what thing to actually go. Right.
Starting point is 00:47:14 But having that clear vision is is everything. Yeah. This is such a bummer right now because I'm trying to, I'm trying to talk about this right now. We're doing other stuff. We got it. Hold on a second. I got it. It's like, guys, I need, I, I want the audiences feedback on here.
Starting point is 00:47:31 So let's like, because this conversation is going to be important. So we got to, we got to stop arguing in the chat about other stuff that right now, like this, I'm like, I'm, my whole existence in this space has because the audience has been so supportive. The audience has been so engaged in conversation. and feedback and things of that nature. And to me, like, that's why I bring it. It's going to be everything. It's going to be me as I get closer and closer, having conversations like this and having the audience go,
Starting point is 00:48:09 okay, well, then do this, this, that's what it's going to be about. Okay, great. What would make me interested? This, what wouldn't make me interested that? I always take that kind of stuff into consideration. So that's why I want to have those types of conversations. I don't want to have nonsense right now in the
Starting point is 00:48:24 chat room, the same freaking conversation we have every day. We got to move on. And I'm not talking about the topics. I'm talking about what's going on in the chat right now. And I need the, that's why I have to put somebody in time out because I need the audience. I really want to get the audience's opinion on this because you guys are crucial. Not only with the fact that going, hey, we're going to do the same thing Stuckman did, but we're like, I want to know, like, hey, yeah, you know what I'd like to see in this show? Something like that. You know who'd be funny in this show? Someone like that. You know, who would be good in this? That. Because and that was the other thing stuff like I want to make sure to like I want to go through it with you
Starting point is 00:48:59 And other people before we do this whole thing. I'm like I know the role that I already told you about right? I'm like I want to say okay let if we do the full season Can I bring that character back and if not? Is that the character we want to go with because I you know how much I think I think you're hilarious. I think you're great at improv. I think that you're you would you would get this immediately. So it's like do we go with this role for you or do we do something else we're are going to do the full season. But it's just a pilot put you in it and then that's the role you'll play but if we're going to do the whole season maybe we don't do that role so it's like the conversation that i have to have you know right yeah i can't wait to let me know if you need me to take a pass at it too or look at it for some notes love for you to take a love for you to read it for sure like once we get it once we get it um ready to go we're we're going to do exactly that so i mean that's what i'm
Starting point is 00:49:47 planning on doing um yeah so someone and then look and i love like questions about that too someone said do i know where it's going to take place i I think it makes sense to make it take place in Los Angeles because most of the people I want in the show are going to be in Los Angeles. And it's cheaper for me to fly out there and to, you know, spend a week or two weeks or three weeks, whatever it might be, to be out there shooting this thing as opposed to trying to fly everybody in or cast here when I don't have to do that. So, and I've already read it, read it, I wrote in the setting that it's, that it's in L.A. Yeah. And that's your, I mean, that's where you did your whole beginning main years of comedy, right? Yeah, yeah. So it's, it's going to be interesting. So anyway, that's kind of where I am going with this and I'm letting people know about it now. So it's like bringing it up out of nowhere. They're like, what the hell are you talking about? I'll just keep talking about this because it's something that I've wanted to do. It's an idea that I've had for a very long time. And now I want to actually put it into motion. And like I said, I just want to bring it alive. If we can get just get it to at least the pilot come alive, that to me would be a major, major win.
Starting point is 00:50:55 Yeah. You know who needs a win, Steph? Me. No, you know, well, I guess so. You do. 21. Not too bad. You'll need about over 200.
Starting point is 00:51:06 Yeah, with nine minutes to go. But no, you know, Lucas won't need to win. So Edwards, Gareth Edwards, director of Jurassic World Rebirth, says the following. He says, Rogue One isn't Disney Star Wars best? Filmmaker Garrett Edwards says he's content to move up. on from Star Wars following his work on Rogue One, a Star Wars story. Edwards directed the first Star Wars spinoff feature, but the film famously became the first of multiple Star Wars projects, which underwent major behind-the-scenes, dramas,
Starting point is 00:51:38 and overhauls. Tony Gilroy came into rework some of it, but which parts have been up for debate? The most significant change, apparently, was Gilroy having everyone die at the end in the opening scene with the Courier. Interest in the title has also served recently in the wake of the second season of the highly acclaimed Andorfen. finishing up on Disney Plus last month. Edward says he appreciates fans' reaction, but has done his bit for the franchise, telling Business Insider,
Starting point is 00:52:03 I'm very happy to move on and do my thing. Some claim it as the best Star Wars film of the Disney era, a claim that Edward refused when asked about it. I don't agree with it, but I appreciate it. I'm very grateful that people say nice things. Ask what the franchise means to him now, he says. It's the thing that was in my life before I knew what a film was. It's like your mom.
Starting point is 00:52:22 It's like something that's a part of you. Always fascinated. by what they're doing, I never stopped loving that trilogy. New Lisa Vandor has led to something of a reassessment of Rogue One, some appreciating it more, others less. The tone of the former's deep character drama and the latter's big-scale action approach is so different in certainly making for a jarring experience to go from one to the other. Speculation also lingers as to just what elements are Edwards and what were Gilroy, with fans quick to give credit to Gilward for stuff that wasn't necessarily his,
Starting point is 00:52:51 such as the famous Darth Vader sequence, which the film's writer and VFX Animator all confirm Edwards directed. Indeed, Edwards remains the sole director credited and reportedly worked alongside Gilroyd during their issues, not just being sidelined in the way sometimes you hear about. Okay. So you and I, I think, have similar thoughts here. Mm-hmm. I really like Gareth Edwards. I really do. Thank you. The stuff he's doing, even though I didn't necessarily love Jurassic World.
Starting point is 00:53:20 He did the assignment, I think, what they told him to do. I really do. I think he nailed the assignment of what they asked him to do. I don't think it was poorly directed. I really don't. I don't think it was written very well, but I don't think it was poorly directed. I think it was directed. Like they said,
Starting point is 00:53:34 hey, we want to do this. We want to do this. We want to do this. And he said, okay, I can do that. And the last one he did was the creator.
Starting point is 00:53:41 Is that what it's called his creator? Yeah. I like that movie. And I like what he did. Here's why I don't really believe that he directed the majority of Rogue One. why did they go to Tony Gilroy to do and or and not him? You know what I mean? No, but no, Christian, like, that's respectfully, this article was dead on arrival for me.
Starting point is 00:54:10 I was like, this is, to me, like, no shade to the person asking the questions or anything, of course. But because we're sick. We're in the Star Wars world so much. We're like paying attention to things other people wouldn't pick up on. It makes zero sense because really this guy ran with two could have been five. They would have let him do five seasons of Andor had he chosen to. And that's the Rogue One story. So I'm not saying that Gareth Edwards had no part in it.
Starting point is 00:54:43 Obviously he did. But it's Tony Gilroy's movie from a fan's perspective. Right. Because why would he be doing Andor if it wasn't his movie? Unless I'm completely missing something. And it felt like Andor was in the exact same tone as Rogue One. So I don't know. It just feels like he probably felt awkward, you know,
Starting point is 00:55:07 because I'm sure they're all under super tight NDAs. I'm not saying he answered it wrong or anything. I'm just saying like the whole question. It doesn't, it doesn't make sure. No, and the thing is with him, it says he did the same thing. The reason why he kept on working why he's in good standing is because he played ball.
Starting point is 00:55:24 He's one of the one, he's one of the few that played ball everyone else did that happen to the lord and miller he was like the first one that happened to by the way they don't know the lord and miller stuff happened and and not that people weren't working clearly lord and miller still working but like you know what i mean like as far as they're not in good stands with lucas film anymore they they clearly had a bad time with that um the benny off and weiss same type of thing um so many different people have had those fallings out falling out and just did not it didn't work my perfect day as sand, salt water, and friends. But my moderate to severe plaques psoriasis can take me out of the
Starting point is 00:56:00 moment. Now I'm all in with clearer skin thanks to Skyrizi. Risenkizum at Rizza, a prescription only 150 milligram injection for adults who are candidates for systemic or phototherapy. Ask your doctor about Skyrizzi, the number one dermatologist prescribed biologic in psoriasis.
Starting point is 00:56:47 Visit Skyrizzi.com or call 1866 Skyrizzi to learn more. Where he's like, okay, look, what do you want to do? You want to have Tony Gilroy come in and do this? okay great, whatever, fine. And then he gets the credit for doing a billion-dollar movie, but he doesn't get, and we always said that, if you directed a billion-dollar movie, a movie that made a billion dollars in the second, right after Force Awakens,
Starting point is 00:57:08 he didn't do a movie for like three years after that or something, or four years. It's like, look at, look at Sean Levy. Sean Levy, just did Deadpool Wolverine, and he's got a movie, the Star Wars movie, like immediately. You do a, Greta Gerwig did a billion-dollar movie, and she's got a new movie immediately. and people are lining up.
Starting point is 00:57:26 No one was lining up to hire. It's like that should tell you like, okay, fine. And I think he answered as much inside of that. If it was his movie, if he felt like I love that movie and what we did there, that's so great that people say that. He's like,
Starting point is 00:57:39 no, I don't necessarily agree with that because it's not all the way his. Right. I don't have stuff that he did with it, but it wasn't his all the way. Yes. And he's just like, I think he answered the question there.
Starting point is 00:57:49 Because it's like, and I don't blame him. He got moved over to do it. And Tony Groy did his thing and made, his movie and he's going, you know, I don't necessarily know what's the best, but if people said, I don't agree with it. It's not my favorite because he had different ideas and things that he wanted to do with it. They changed it up.
Starting point is 00:58:04 I happen to agree with the majority of people. I do think it is the best of the Disney era, but he doesn't. And I don't blame him for saying so. Yeah, I don't either. I have no, no problem with how he answered that. I feel like it's probably super awkward. It probably still feels awkward. You know, you never really want someone.
Starting point is 00:58:24 went to finish what you started in any capacity. So it's probably weird and there's no right answer. And so that's one where I just feel like if you are a journalist and you are asking those questions, you should probably like look into the bigger scope a little bit more because it is a little. Yeah. There's a lot going on there. It's a lot going on. So I asked the audience this question. What do you make of the comments? What do you think about him saying that? And look, The thing is what he has been doing with the creator with this movie. Now here's the difference. This is the other difference.
Starting point is 00:58:59 Jurassic World Rebirth, whatever I thought about it, other people think about it. I think it's going to do very well. And when it does do very well, you're going to, if you already seen more of Gareth Edwards, you're going to see him do even more. This is my point. He directed this movie. He directed this. And he's going to wind up getting something else big, especially if it does very well.
Starting point is 00:59:15 What do you guys think about it? Put your thoughts in there. Let us know. All right. Steph, we're going to get into this. Do you think we can do one of your major comebacks here? Maybe who's here. Makes some noise.
Starting point is 00:59:27 It would be a story for the ages. You were able to pull this off and defeat Roxy at 233. Currently, you stand at 23. So you got to climb. You got to climb here with an hour left. We got a new member. What a way to become a member here today. M. 11.
Starting point is 00:59:47 And there's a lot of stuff. We got a lot of unedited reactions, live streams we have going on. Tons of stuff. tons of stuff. So put your thoughts in there, guys about membership. Put your thoughts in about membership. As far as this is a good time to be a member for sure. Go pal. Deni to direct bond feels like a slam dunk, right? He has the name where nobody can nitpick. Yep. And I'm seeing articles saying he always wanted to do it. Yeah, go back and watch Josh Harwitz's interview with him from 2022. He talks about it. Yeah, I completely agree with you, go pal. This is just awesome.
Starting point is 01:00:22 As soon as I read there, I was like, oh, what? Yes. Yep. Go, pal. Off topic, do the gift memberships count as that number towards the count? Or is it one when you gift one, five, or ten? It's a great question. I don't know the answer to it because if I'm looking, it does, it definitely counts
Starting point is 01:00:41 towards the, towards the count. I just don't know if like when you put in like one or does it count five? I'm not sure. I can look like, you know, I'll tell you, I'll tell you what if anybody wants to do it, And I'll say, don't do it yet because I can't see. I'll tell somebody, somebody gets, then I can answer your question at the end of the show if somebody does it. But right now, um, go pal just gifted five members, which is amazing. We were, we just reached 400 members, by the way, which is a, hey, the goal is obviously, we're trying to get to a thousand members, but we got 400 already.
Starting point is 01:01:13 Massive. Awesome. Go pal. Another one, because I was confused by yesterday's title and going up early. So I didn't think it was the real show. Oh. Yeah. Well, yesterday, the reason we went up early is because, well, I interviewed Andrew Fried.
Starting point is 01:01:27 I was talking to Andrew, and I had to get to go see Jurassic World. So I needed to get out in time. Chris Carr and Brett were available. And that was it. They were able to do it. So we went an hour early. So I'm glad that we did. Tim, Christian, when do you get to drive Mike's tank?
Starting point is 01:01:42 I'm not putting the pictures up yet because I'm waiting for Mike to be on here. I want him to react to all the pictures. But you guys bully him on, on like Twitter or wherever he's on. Like light bully, light bully. Right. Get your shit together and get back on. Yeah. Brandon Lopez saw Jurassic World rebirth on Monday for screen and scene. It was stinky farts. Oh, man.
Starting point is 01:02:00 Oh, no. What a disappointment. Superman, F1, the movie, and Fantastic Four, First Steps have nothing to worry about. Well, you can't say that. The first part of it, okay, I didn't think it was a stinky farts. I didn't think it was great, but I don't think it was stinky farts. But that part, you're more than welcome to say, obviously, and that's your opinion. What a disappointment?
Starting point is 01:02:22 You can say that. Superman F1, the movie, and Fantastic Four First Steps, I have nothing to worry about. Are you talking about as far as box office goes? Because the last two Jurassic worlds were herndus, horrendous. And they were-Hern-D-S-I-like-Hern-Dus. And they made a billion dollars. Will that hold? I don't know, but do not count it out.
Starting point is 01:02:46 Steph. Do you agree to disagree? No, I don't count it out. I am 20 minutes into Minecraft. it's like it we there are no rules to the box office game all you need is the the a fan base yeah totally uh Zachary henceley became a new member man that is I'm so happy to hear it and again for members too you can get I tell every member this when they sign up as we did our live stream the day you have access to the capes and cows full comic book which is another project we're working on
Starting point is 01:03:19 and we're going to get all the voices all the sound effects in there we're going to do a full big video with all of that stuff. Wicked Art did it, did a great job, and I'm glad more and more people have been checking out his work. He's very talented. And probably the nicest person that I have interacted with in this fan base. He is just such a good dude. Does Wicked Art do animation or just still images?
Starting point is 01:03:43 It's a great question. I'm sure if he's in here, maybe he can answer, but he usually like that. Let me know. I'm looking to do some. An animator? Yeah, small animations. You certainly can do your art. I'll tell you that.
Starting point is 01:03:58 Bokbock chicken, one of my favorite games thus far. It would be interesting and Fantastic Four is a darker ending where they cannot defeat Galactus and they are forced to leave their own world as it gets destroyed. I'm hoping for that too. Oh, yeah, yeah. I'm sure it will have a darker end, especially if they're already onto the sequel. Leading into Doomsday. Yep. Leading into Doom.
Starting point is 01:04:20 That's what I need. Yeah, I want it to be darker. I think we need a darker one right now for sure. Agreed. Yeah. All right, Steph, 28 thus far. A little bit of a fight, a little bit of a fight, we shall think with 522 people in here. If each person, if each person in here right now put in one question for stuff, she would destroy the record.
Starting point is 01:04:47 Oh, dominate. We could make history today. If each person did it. Screen bites Christian. Stefan Christian, I love you a few thousand. Thank you. If Denise can direct Bond, what are the chances of a Nolan or Tarantino effort next?
Starting point is 01:05:00 Would be the Mutz nuts. No, I love Mutz. Nuts. Nuts. I never heard that before, and I love it. So, Nolan or Tarantino ever, what are the chances of doing?
Starting point is 01:05:10 If that'd be interesting, that would be interesting. Imagine the Stiff of a world, what he means basically is, okay, so the first new Bond movie, Deny. Second one, Tarantino.
Starting point is 01:05:22 The third one, Nolan. Imagine that. Boom, boom. You talk about. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:27 Obviously, that would be literally the sickest thing ever, but I feel like they would want to do. Two with Denise, right? No,
Starting point is 01:05:34 like a new, I feel like if those three actors were like, yo, we're like the littest right now. Let's get together, make a championship team. You do one, two,
Starting point is 01:05:44 and three. It would be on like some original IP or like something that they went in on it together. But they all want to do it. Like Nolan wants to do bond. Okay, maybe. I mean, that would be the coolest thing ever.
Starting point is 01:05:56 That would be one of the coolest pop culture moments of all time. Ever. Noah asks, I can't stay for the lie, but hope you have a great day. And Denise is doing bond. It's a massive win. Sure is. Yeah. I'm excited.
Starting point is 01:06:10 Huge. Okay. So again, we're almost at 30. Mike Joyce, would Superman launch a cryptocurrency? you could see crypto probably doing it on his own self-branding but no super our Superman is not into I feel like the Superman I know according to the comics would never be like so money money hungry question coyote says thoughts on Roka saying today in the
Starting point is 01:06:38 hot mic that Roxy and anyone else who's seen Superman wearing a superman shirt your European is invalid oh my gosh I don't know what it is I call Roka on a Monday I don't know what it is Roka in this movie he's He's got such a heart on for this movie. I don't get it. Wait, why is he doing that? He says he doesn't. I thought that was the cutest thing ever that she was wearing a Superman body suit to the, this is our beloved character.
Starting point is 01:07:03 I'm so curious to see, like, when he comes out of that movie. Right. Right. What he has done very well for himself. And, you know, I know Rokan over 25 years. What he's done very well is that he's going to get a lot of, lot of people to watch is out of the theater reaction and his review because you're going to either want to yell at him for what he's saying or you're right and but i don't think he's doing
Starting point is 01:07:26 it because of that i don't think he's doing it because of that i'd be very clear on that i think he's being there there is no roca is not fake there's nothing you can't you can say a lot of things about john roka you cannot say that he's fake and he is going to he's going to double down on this stuff for sure, but I think I think the same thing you all think when I, if I didn't hear the full comment, and I'll tell him on Monday. It's not like I'm, and he knows that I'll tell him on Monday. I think it's ridiculous of that. Yeah. If she's wearing a super mincher, her opinion is invalid. You can not agree with her opinions in general, which is fine. But just because she's wearing a shirt, if she's a fan of it, come on, that's not fair. Yeah, that's crazy. But he probably,
Starting point is 01:08:10 I'm guessing he said it like kind of as a joke. That's my, no, I don't know. I don't know. I don't no, he's, he's in, he's in a mode right now when it comes to the, I'll, I'll, I'll have the conversations on Monday. We have, we had a great conversation on Monday and I look forward to it again. So, um, very interesting to see. I am two fly cam. Giving 90 skater vibes, Steph, who's your favorite, DC hero for you both? It's Superman. Superman's my favorite. Uh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, Superman for DC. Yeah. Isaiah Smith. I read Dune because Deny was announced to be the director.
Starting point is 01:08:43 Like Nolan, he has more of a draw than a movie star for me. Now I'm excited for 007. 100%. That is, yeah. That was literally my character arc. I did the same thing. And is that fat, Yoshi as your icon? That's amazing.
Starting point is 01:08:58 Jake, Squid Game drops tonight, probably binging the whole thing right away. Sleep can wait. Oh, you're right. And the bear dropped last night. Oh my God. Yeah. I didn't even.
Starting point is 01:09:10 Where was that? I started watching the bear last night. And I was so bummed because, well, my wife doesn't watch it. I can't get her to watch it. And it's so hot in my house right now. Well, now it won't be. But freaking air conditioner is the whole story. But in our room is nice.
Starting point is 01:09:30 I'm sitting there watching the bear. And then my wife comes in. I don't know what we started watching. We start watching something else. And I fell asleep. So I got to finish. You know, that's Harry hasn't. seen the bear and I just, I'm like, damn, I can't wait for you.
Starting point is 01:09:45 So I just am going to have to like watch this in secrecy. Got it. Matt Boyle, but Squid game, Squid game's another thing real quick. So I'm trying. I don't know if I'll be able to do this. I would have to finish Squid game season one and two over the weekend and then start trying to drop the reactions next week for free. It's a daunting task, but I might try to do it.
Starting point is 01:10:06 I might try to do it. Okay. I don't know. Matt Boyle, with Jaws 50th anniversary. just happening, would you like to see a prequel about Robert Shaw in the epilus story? I actually think that there was one in the works. Actually, I shouldn't say I think. I know there was one in the works. I know there was one in the works. I don't know how much I can say. Except let me see. You know what? I'm going to, oh, I can't. I was going to do a voice text,
Starting point is 01:10:31 but I'll give away. Let me see. I'll see if I'm going to text the person. I mean, do we do this. I'm going to do this right now. I'm going to ask how. much I can talk about. Oh, great. Phones out of batteries. Anyway, I know for a fact that it was in development. And they were working on.
Starting point is 01:10:51 They were really close to doing it. So I don't know where that's saying. You know what? I'll find out the information and I'll report back, man. But yeah, that was happened. And it was a big, I'll just say this. It was a big huge, it was a big huge Marvel star that was involved in it. Tell you that.
Starting point is 01:11:09 Joe Hendo, TV. Nothing with the top, the OG Jurassic Park for me. I'll even say I like the lost world. Yeah, I like the first lost world. Yeah, OG is just, it's so good. Yeah. It is. The first one really is.
Starting point is 01:11:30 It really, really is good. Okay, next one is Jake. Some of the logic and comedy and rebirth was so silly. I'm so surprised that there's an embargo. on it because like a bunch of fans went and saw it last night too like even they had a collider screening everything too and what didn't if ed harrel wanted to do a full movie review for it right now i don't think they signed anything yeah that's weird it's interesting that there's a embargo on it still um let's see wouldn't have been surprised at jonathan bailey
Starting point is 01:11:58 started dancing through life with the dinoes yeah i mean look there was some the writing was bad the writing and there was sometimes that i was like there were some lines and other things i'm I'm like, and I'll tell you, there's a character in it that I was rooting to get eaten really fast. Really fast. That character gets a little bit more redeemed than the second half, but the second that character, I'm like, eat that person. Eat that person immediately, and I will cheer for you dinosaur. And by the end of it's like, okay, the person fine, but it's still, if you saw, you know what I'm talking about. Okay.
Starting point is 01:12:34 Yeah, when you see it, you'll know who I'm talking about. All right. Let's see, Mike Joyce. Roxy and Big Balls AI contest like Mike and the tank. Well, Joseph Hendry has the already has done that already. So I don't know. And plus if I Roxy wouldn't like it. I don't want to do something. Mike was on board with it. Roxy doesn't want anything to do with that.
Starting point is 01:12:56 So I'm not going to do that for sure. Let's see what else? We got a couple. We have a, again, 35. Not too bad, not too bad, not too bad at all. Let's see, what else? I'm trying to, trying to see who's next. We're going down the line here and here it is.
Starting point is 01:13:18 I am Jacks, 12. Would Disney ever consider selling Lucasholm? I think that they did. I think they were talking to Apple at one point. Are the toy merch profits too profitable? Not, not, no, no. Sale just for media rights. I need an indoor style Bain series.
Starting point is 01:13:33 Me too. but I think the problem is you get like all the parks and everything you know yeah yeah that's where it gets sticky yeah and for the person that no one was banned you're putting time out is a difference time out means you got to you got to be quiet for five minutes chill that's what it means you know we haven't banned anybody at all we we just put you in time out Seattle chaos have you guys seen the latest trailer for the day franko alison brie movie together after seeing that i'm more intrigued thoughts i didn't see the trailers it looked pretty good do you see that one step no but that's cute i was waiting for them to do something actually yeah are they dating they're married oh i didn't know that
Starting point is 01:14:13 when did that happen um a few years ago yeah they're a really cute couple dave franco might be my favorite character from the studio hilarious in that that was i really have you seen any interviews like did he lose his voice and he was screaming for four days straight. It was hilarious. Matt, Prugman. Support. Christian, I have a prompt for you.
Starting point is 01:14:39 Arnold explaining how Terminator Salvation is a confusing mess. He recently said it's his least favorite. To be honest, I don't even know what the hell was going on. They had me to come to the premiere. I sat down, they had the popcorn,
Starting point is 01:14:53 I had a soda because my horse and my donkey could not be there. I said to the one, the popcorn was called whiskey. The other was called Lulu. and I said, Whiskey, Lulu, what do you think of this? And they couldn't speak because they were condiments. But nonetheless, I look over there and they say, what is going on here?
Starting point is 01:15:10 And they could not make any sense of it. There's someone over there. There's someone over there. My face is over here. Yeah, I fell asleep. Thank you. It's true. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:15:22 Okay, go pal. Loving the rugby. It reminds me of my youth. There you go. It's your stuff. Where did you get that shirt? Oh, my gosh. That's funny.
Starting point is 01:15:31 It does. Someone said that. I looked like a blues clues too. That was really. That was good. I could see you host in a kid's show. I would kill it. Yes.
Starting point is 01:15:42 Yes. Because they need to be talked to like adults. And I think I could bring that. I would hire you immediately if I had this good. Thank you. Jay Anderson. And I would hire Brett to be a, how Brett was not cast,
Starting point is 01:15:56 it's because he hasn't tried. Sesame Street. How good would Brett be on Sesame Street? Amazing. Unreal. Seeing F1 tomorrow night and IMAX so pumped, you will have an absolute blast. Jay Anderson, support for Steph. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:16:11 36, Steph, less than 200 now, Steph. All right. At Krugman, I saw 28 days later last night. It's fantastic. Sinners tomorrow, ballerina Saturday, F1 and IMAX. Sunday is the Phoenician scheme Monday. Thank God for AMCA A list. What a great, great run of movies you're going to have.
Starting point is 01:16:27 The only one I haven't seen that one is the Phoenician scheme, and I'll probably check that one out soon. I want to try to get a really solid list. Yeah, yeah. I have to see Phoenician scheme and I haven't seen ballerina yet. And then I'm going to go see F1 this weekend. Michael Daggerer became a member. Thank you, Michael. Great.
Starting point is 01:16:47 Again, Michael, same thing. Find the capes and cows comic book. Read the whole thing. It's phenomenal. It's really good. It's phenomenal. Joe Hendo TV, interested in seeing Denise do Bonn, but I would love to see him do Superman.
Starting point is 01:17:00 Well, I mean, that's not going to have. Yeah. That would have been fun. Jay Anderson, favorite Denise film other than Dune. I would probably say, let's see, let's see, let me look at. I think Sicario for me. Yeah. I liked Blade Runner.
Starting point is 01:17:19 Yeah. I want to look at it before I give. I know my answer, but I want to make sure that it's the one at all the other ones. Yeah, I think that's going to be my answer. But, June Part 2 would be my answer if you said anything but. And yeah, see, it's not, I like Blade Runner 249 on the rewatch, way more than I did the first time. Love prisoners.
Starting point is 01:17:48 Sicario is fantastic. But my number one before June 2 and was Arrival. Arrival is a killer movie. I love that movie. want to watch it again and still in the essence of how time and space works that is the most accurate portrayal of how time travel
Starting point is 01:18:06 with consciousness and everything else could work. That's interesting. Mike Joyce, you see the trailer for Yargos' new alien movie? No, I didn't. No. The funny thing is, though, with Yargos is that before poor things,
Starting point is 01:18:22 I respect him as a filmmaker. Respect him. I just don't respond to his movies. I don't like the Lobster didn't like the sacred of the killing deer, whatever. And I thought I was going to hate poor things. Loved that movie. I love that movie. Love that movie.
Starting point is 01:18:39 Yeah, I think he's one of those people that I will just see what they're doing. It doesn't always land, but I always respect how stylistic he is. And he has a POV, which is, and it's always fascinating. Chris Malick. Hey, Christian and stuff, I saw F1. it was great. I will tell you that right before I shot my out of the theater reaction, I had, as I was sweating bullets, I had on my, I had on my, and I'm listening to people as people are shuffling out of the theater. I actually met a very nice couple as they were walking
Starting point is 01:19:15 out too. They watched the show and it was, they were super nice, sweet people. But I'm listening to all these people as they're talking and the word I kept hearing was how much fun everybody had that was the word that's what you want to hear oh cool yeah that's how top gun maverick felt everyone was just like buzzing because they had such a great time um let's see tray porter nothing much just wanted to say hello and i'm gonna see f1 in less than an hour have fun and do you think that they should have revealed the new bond at the end of the bond should be the oscars no you got to do what you just did today their strategy was sound yet you know i mean people now are excited because Denise's doing it and how many more people actors are going to be more excited
Starting point is 01:20:00 that Denise is doing it and cast that is going to not just who's going to play bond are going to be excited now that he's doing it this was the right play for sure yeah yeah legend m m 600 600 you guys rock love your shirt thank you how about step shirt her stuff shirt thank you go mariner um that's the only time you'll hear me say that ctb channel when i see nicholas halt as Lex Luthor, I can't help but see his next character from Fury Road. That's true. It's a work for Steph. He was great. It's another one. He was great in that movie too.
Starting point is 01:20:30 That's funny. That was such a like should have been a small character, but I feel like he made that so crazy. Yeah. Joe Hendo TV, who says, I love the Dark Night trilogy and the Batman, but a live action version of the Batman, the animated series
Starting point is 01:20:48 would be peak. I hope the DCU Batman will be along those lines. I'm very curious to how they're going to make that work and who it's going to be. Yeah. Yeah. And do you mean like actually have a series that's adapted from the animated into live action or a movie? I think that I think you said about movie,
Starting point is 01:21:04 but in that kind of tone. Oh, okay. Chris Malick, what do you all think will be the big box office surprise hit of the year that nobody expected? I think we already had it. I think it was Minecraft.
Starting point is 01:21:17 I mean, that is crazy, guys. I mean, the fact, the fact that it was a. success, that's not surprising. The fact that it's almost at a billion dollars. Right. That part. No one would have predicted that. The first 15 minutes straight are the most exposition
Starting point is 01:21:33 heavy 15 minutes of my entire life. I didn't love it either. I didn't love it either. And it got good. Then it got fun. And it's hilarious. Like my little one who's obviously when I, when I saw that, I talked about it on the show, when I saw the movie with her in the theater, I said, Maisie, what do you think? She looks me with this stuff. She goes, right she's now watched a movie about five times she loves it one of her favorite movies she watches it all of the time she watches it she made my wife watch it the other day she loves it and i also think which is adorable i think around the reasons that she watches my oldest wanted to see it and she worships my the oldest so then and then the fact that my oldest
Starting point is 01:22:12 started talking about a little bit more she's like okay let me give another shot now she loves it oh so cute yeah it's definitely a fun movie yeah i can see i see why it was a success. I really did. Yes, yes, yes. But the billion dollars is crazy. Crazy. Tray Porter. Oh, yeah. Also, thoughts on Aaron Sork and writing and directing the social network, too. Okay, so I'm glad you brought that up. I hadn't heard about it except on the train yesterday. I was on the train and I'm on the, it was the long-down railroad as I'm on it and I was listening and there was this younger couple and it was hilarious because this guy, there was a bunch of dudes behind me and they were older and this one guy, to be honest. And to be fair, this guy had a very annoying laugh. And he was kind of cackling and doing like,
Starting point is 01:22:59 every five second. He just laughing. He was with his friend. He's talking. He's just, what are you going to do? It wasn't like trying to be annoying. He just said an annoying laugh. It happens to people.
Starting point is 01:23:08 But this young dude with his girlfriend, or I assume, can't handle. And he's just like, joke's not that funny. And I'm like, oh my gosh. I didn't hear him. But I'm like, in my head, I wasn't going to say anything. But I'm in my head, I'm like, not worth what you're going to be doing here. First of all,
Starting point is 01:23:27 the guys with like four of his friends. You're with your girlfriend. And it's like, what are you doing? Like, what are you doing? It's like he, he,
Starting point is 01:23:34 he, he, he, he, had an annoying laugh and was talking to his friends. And, and he was like laughing.
Starting point is 01:23:41 He was laughing. He wasn't like trying to, like, there are some people sometimes when they want everybody to know that they're there and they want everybody. See how, look at my jokes. I got to throw jokes out right now in front of everybody.
Starting point is 01:23:53 And make everybody like, laugh and it's and the jokes are bombing and just keep going keep going you're like okay guy relax wasn't this guy he was just talking to his friends but the the young dude finally gives it up doesn't worry about it and starts talking about the social network and i swore i heard him say yeah they're doing part two and i'm like the hell's this guy talking about i would have heard about that and apparently that's true now trace says that i didn't i didn't hear it but it makes since there's so much more story to tell i would assume jesse is coming back you can't do it without them right right right and i and i know jesse isenberg has been vocal of his dislike for
Starting point is 01:24:35 for him as a personal so i think it will it definitely makes sense and he if they please like show what the i want to know what it looked like inside of his house when he who he called for his gen z makeover like who was the stylist that came over and put the like oversized black t-shirt on him i need to know yeah uh michael daguar thoughts on space balls too coming out okay so if you guys were watching a couple weeks ago i think it was like two three weeks ago when poor step had to try to manage the show by herself when me and mike on the phone because streamers just taking a big duty that day um one of the things i was going to do was surprise step because she had never seen the trailer with Space Balls 2 the announcement that had come out.
Starting point is 01:25:22 Have you watched that trailer since? No. Oh my gosh. I wish I wouldn't have said anything. I would have watched that with you. So have you ever seen the original? Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 01:25:32 So what are your thoughts on Space Balls 2 coming out? Did you know it was coming out? Yeah, I think we talked about it briefly when the announcement was made or something like that. The official announcement was made. Oh, well, was there talks about it? Yeah. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:25:48 Yeah. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Okay, I think this is great. Yeah, I think it's a perfect time to explore making fun of Star Wars even further. You got to say, I think he's going to be making fun of more than just Star Wars. I think he's doing the MCU. I think he's doing everything. Oh, that's hysterical.
Starting point is 01:26:10 You're just going to make it like a metaverse. I can't wait. I can't wait. Yeah. You've climbing a 44. They're not letting you leave. They're giving you a shot to stick around, and you're 44 so far. We have a couple left.
Starting point is 01:26:23 Joe Hindo TV, I meant movie LOL since Superman looks like Superman. Yeah, the animated series brought to life. That's exactly you have to do it. That's how you have to do it. Yeah, that will be, I love the Batman series. I just, so much of it is just the case of the week. So I would be, I don't know how that would transfer as a full movie, but the right writer. Yes.
Starting point is 01:26:46 All right. let's see next one here and this is simon section arrival space time continuum do you have tiger blood in you i know you like baseball it is a conspiracy saracana oh that's the as you were it's a lot of on there simon section do you know what's going on here um i thought he would was he writing what you were saying as he's got a lot of different things here rival space time continuum is what i was talked about do you have tiger blood in you i assume that's charlie sheen stuff i don't know i know you like baseball is it a conspiracy sarah kana i know oh that's the as you were i'm i'm i'm all i'm simon no no to be to be as um not to curse i have no fucking clue what you're
Starting point is 01:27:28 talking about uh jake uh deagle luna did a hell of simon diagle luna did a great job hosting kimmel did he did he i didn't see i didn't see that that's great because that's funny because I actually Diego Luna did he's done this whole like press tour and he's done I've seen so many of interviews I think he is such an enigmatic guy
Starting point is 01:27:53 I really really like him and he um when his one awkward interview was with I thought the first few minutes of his Kimmel interview was so awkward which is rare because I love Kimmel but maybe it was I didn't I should have kept watching maybe they are yeah yeah yeah There is. Aaron Ambrose. Will Interstellar and Dunkirk get Sam reactions? Yes, but right now, like we've,
Starting point is 01:28:19 MCU, I thought would be done the beginning of July. It probably be the end of July, if not August. That's what we'll be done with that. Then we're going to be getting into the Lord of the Rings. Then we're going to jump back to X-Men. And then once X-Men's done, then we're going to start getting into every, she hasn't seen Star Wars. She hasn't seen Harry Potter. She hasn't seen the Nolan stuff. So we're going to get into all that for. So yes, 100%. Uh, Jay Anderson. I already have tickets for Jurassic World Superman and Fantastic Four. You're going to have a great time at the movies.
Starting point is 01:28:50 Either way, even, look, Jurassic, the one thing I will say, I didn't regret going to the movies last night. I like being in that world again. For sure. Yeah, I really did. Okay. Is that it for now? All right.
Starting point is 01:29:04 That is it for now, stuff. Now. Okay. Oh, just kidding. Jay Anderson. what do you want to see because it's he do next after f1 he's ready he's doing the he's doing the UFO movie he's doing he's doing the movie with uh david grush for those people who don't follow the topic in two thousand and twenty three david grush who was a high level intelligence officer uh went public
Starting point is 01:29:27 about the ufo uap program that the government had that he was working on and then he testified in front of congress in 2000 and 23 he is a consultant on the movie which with Joseph Kaczynski and it's about disclosure from what people are talking about. Yeah, I'm excited to see that. Yeah, it's an Apple movie. So the star that they're, we're just talking about this, the star power they're probably going to have in that movie,
Starting point is 01:29:53 especially after F1 is probably going to be great. Right. Yeah, I can't wait for it. Okay. So we still have a half an hour left. However, I'm just kidding. All right. You're dangerously close.
Starting point is 01:30:09 You're dangerously close to time out. You're dangerously close to getting banned. Dangerously close. Just saying. So let's be smart here. Dangerously close. Simon's section. Arrival, the arrival.
Starting point is 01:30:25 Amy Adams, Charlie Sheen. Ah, now I get it. Okay, two. Right. Arrive, not the arrival. Arrival. Yes. Thank you, Simon.
Starting point is 01:30:33 Now that makes a lot more sense. Now I know where you're coming from. Thanks, Simon. Yes. Anthony, I recently got married. Any advice? Listen, you know, be good partners. And sometimes when you think you have to fight, don't.
Starting point is 01:30:48 Just say, oh, all right. Right. Yes, that's all really great advice. I would also say it's so easy with your friends and family, but especially your partner for it to just be like regular normal. It's every day I feel like you should just be like, oh, I get to. be this person's partner and be excited about all the little things and they'll make your whole life a lot more fun yes um all right try it again look again 48 still i think that's a nice i think that's a nice run
Starting point is 01:31:24 that you have it's a nice run i lie uh you have 49 maybe you get it 50 but i said i said yesterday it was like because you know roxy hasn't been in the power position in quite a while because the capes and Cal's guys have four in a row. Now, right. That's their biggest, that's their biggest challenge tomorrow to see if they, I mean, 233 is just a monster number. I mean, how you, how you can do that. It is always curious to say, oh, here's another one, the lone, the lone Phoenix. My kid got a Wendy's DC kid's meal that had a female magician villain named Zatan or something. Is that a good lead villain for movie? I think that that's the character that was brought up yesterday, Phoenix, to Roxy. I think that they asked her if she'd want to play.
Starting point is 01:32:05 Like, I don't, I don't really know. I don't really know. I don't know that character. Yeah, that's a great question. You didn't. She had 50. It's good. I think that that's the question for tomorrow's show with capes and cows.
Starting point is 01:32:18 Right. They'll know for sure. But nonetheless, Steph, still big fight, 50. I think you take it. Tell people about the channel. What's going on with the channel, please. Oh, yes. So I think if everything goes according to plan next week, we'll start having episodes coming out.
Starting point is 01:32:39 So the plan as of now is Tuesdays and Thursdays. And I will keep you guys updated. I'll post on my Instagram and stuff to make sure it's all up to date too. But that's the plan. Please go and do that. Support Steph. I think we already put her YouTube channel in the description for each episode. So make sure you check her out.
Starting point is 01:33:02 As I mentioned beforehand, we will have more updates for both the Capes and Cowles comic book project that we're doing. And once I'm done with this script, we'll have more information on what's going to happen as far as. Because I want to get your thoughts, guys. Like, should we try to do the whole pilot? Should we try to do the whole season? What do you guys think? I really want to know. Steph, just as I thought we were about to leap, crashing coyote.
Starting point is 01:33:25 Roker's reasoning was wearing stuff to the movie. Your opinion doesn't matter because wearing a tire means you're ready to convince yourself you like it. I don't agree with that. But I also saw in the chat that people were saying, like, to which is a good point, I think there's a better point to be made of, well, look, if you're going and this is for real rejects and for everybody that attended that screening yesterday, too,
Starting point is 01:33:48 I value all their opinions, a majority of people who went to that. But it doesn't change the fact in the same way like a premiere. If you're going to see the movie and James Gunn is sitting next to you, Yeah. Your opinion is going to be swayed a little bit. Maybe you're saying, no, it wouldn't be, but it would be. You're also, you're in, you're in a different type of environment in the same type of environment for like a premiere. It doesn't mean that your opinion is wrong. It doesn't mean that your opinion won't stay the same after multiple viewings of it. But I think it's fair to say if Roka was saying this, that it is hard, if Roka would have been like, hey, listen, it's hard to really value on a special screening. And plus the fact, I don't think any of them even said anything about. the movie because I don't think they can yet. Right. But if he was saying a long line, look, it's going to be hard to take those opinions serious
Starting point is 01:34:36 for me because of the same reasoning I have when people go to premieres. I would tell him that's fair. But if you're saying, well, Pete, if you're wearing a Superman shirt means I can't take you're, serious. That I don't agree with because I can go
Starting point is 01:34:52 to see a movie. I can wear a Star shirt to a Star Wars movie and then go, well, and very good. Now, Roker's a thing would be like, well, that's you. And I know that you would do that. But there's other people that I can't do that. So, well, I will have this conversation with him on Monday. I promise you. I promise you that. Because I think I know where he, what he's talking about, basically. So if he's saying, you know, the same thing along the lines of like what I just said with the premiere, I don't disagree with them. I don't disagree with them. And if it's because there are those circumstances. sometimes you get caught up in the in the whole thing and it's it's tough to say again it does not
Starting point is 01:35:29 mean that a the movie's not good it does not mean that your opinion is invalid it just means that it's harder for me to go okay look they went into that going like i'm just watching this movie it's impossible to do that j they're taking pictures with james gun and everything too they're excited about the moment i don't know if the cast was there they're on warner brother's lot it's people are excited so it's i understand what he's trying to say if he's indeed saying that uh i to fly cam. I love Roca. He should cool it on soups, though. He is going. He is going balls out. I saw that on, I randomly opened Twitter and I, oh, no, no, it wasn't him as Snyder, just lit soups out. Oh, no, no, no, no, you're talking about, you're talking about soups that,
Starting point is 01:36:14 the, uh, oh yeah, yeah, no, I didn't even know he's. That was so crazy. Snyder go after soups? Just like torched him. Really? What did he say? He pulled, okay, so there's the photo. You find it and read it? Yes,
Starting point is 01:36:29 yes, yeah, I'll find it. Um, he, it was a photo of soups in Brazil with super, with corn sweat and, um,
Starting point is 01:36:40 Brosnahan, I'm pretty sure. Okay. And he was, and he came after Superman too. It was like crazy. You know how much he tweets. So this might take a minute.
Starting point is 01:36:50 Okay. Yeah. Oh, here it is. Here it is. Okay. Okay. So here's the photo. okay and he said the star of mystery irrelevant standing next to mr irrelevant himself pretty cool
Starting point is 01:37:03 well someone said also that ever Collins apparently ever Collins said Jeff apologize on the live show day about that so oh that sometimes sometimes I want to take social media at people's hands but like this is but look Jeff's Jeff Roka the two of them together and they're really going after this movie. And I don't look, but I will say the same thing about the two of them, right? Whereas I just said that thing about and I, and I would tell Jeff Snyder and Roker this, they're on the, on the call or on the phone with me. They know, they know I would. The same can be said about them when it comes to how, what I just said about that screening. I am expecting them both because of the way that they've been going at this.
Starting point is 01:37:49 I've been expecting them both to hate it no matter what. Like I don't feel like even if most people are going to like it. I don't. And Roker will say, that's not true. That's not true. And he very well could be the case. I think he's going to convince himself that he doesn't like the movie,
Starting point is 01:38:05 to which he can argue with me. And again, I'll bring this up on Monday with him. And I think that the same thing goes with Snyder, where Snyder just doesn't like these movies typically. Right. He typically doesn't like these movies. Right.
Starting point is 01:38:19 So I think that what they've done is that the audience is expecting them not to like it. So I'm curious to see. But what I will say about Roka is this. Roka is different. Snyder, I think, is going to hate it no matter what. I will say that if Roka goes into it because he's going to go into it like this. And if he does like the movie, I feel like he'll say it. I do.
Starting point is 01:38:42 I just question is, can he convince himself that to get past the fact that he really doesn't, you know, he's not a fan of the way guns doing it. things right now. Yeah. Yeah. Well, that's it. That's it again. We think. We'll see if anybody keeps us back on. But we still had, if we wanted to, 23 minutes. But 52, it is what it is. It happened today. Steph, we'll get, like, you'll get a win again. I know you will. I know you. Yeah. You had one run where you had like two or three in a row. I know. We got this next week. Yeah. Well, guys, thanks again for being here. I appreciate it. Make sure that you're going to Apple Podcasts, Spotify. Oh, see, every time I do that. Everybody's about to sign out stuff. So I am to fly camp. My lady hates comic book movies. She's allowing us to see Superman. Movie does 850 mil. So I'm starting to get more on board with it getting closer and closer, and I'll tell you why to a billion dollars. So my friend Chris, like one of my really good friends, the guy, I go to the gym with every day.
Starting point is 01:39:51 So I was speaking to him today, and I said, let me ask you a question. I'm curious about this because he doesn't, what he does is, this is a bigger conversation that can go into this also, which I thought was pretty fascinating. He watches a lot of YouTube. He has premium. He doesn't get ads. He does a lot of streaming stuff. So he says he doesn't see a lot of commercials.
Starting point is 01:40:11 And I think that could be a big problem for marketing in generally. He doesn't see a lot of things. And I said, what movies are you aware of that are coming out for the rest of the year? His first answer is, I don't know. Let me think. It's like, I don't know. I don't think anyone. And I go, Superman?
Starting point is 01:40:24 He's like, oh, that one I know about for sure. Yeah, I knew they're doing a new superman. He's, I don't know who was in it. I go, not important. I go, but you know they're doing a Superman movie. He's like, yeah. I go, what about Fantastic Four? He goes, no idea they were even doing that.
Starting point is 01:40:35 He said, I didn't even know they were doing a Bruce Springsteen movie until you told me. I was like, well, yeah, that, that I can understand. But I'm surprised you, you don't know if I have Fantastic Four. And I said, an avatar. He said, they're doing another avatar? I was like, yeah, but there's been no marketing for that yet. And Jurassic World, I didn't ask him if he knew that was coming out, but he knew, but he knew that Superman was coming out.
Starting point is 01:40:56 He was very aware of it. Okay. So that is what they're doing well with their marketing. And that is why I do think, like a lot of people aware of this movie. I think this movie's going to do maybe better, much better than, than I thought. I was probably going to do well, but I'm saying maybe even better. I am two fly camp just curious raising canes or chick fill up I don't know any of those oh or chick filet um you know what chick filet is it's chick filla oh oh yeah isn't that how they
Starting point is 01:41:27 spell it okay obviously I'm a raising canes gal oh what the hell's raising clients oh um they have them all around california I don't think they're on the east coast so I don't know it's just fried chicken okay yeah so neither for me because I never uh Ellis is a bit chick-fil-a guy. I never, I never, uh, Chich-fley's fine to me. I, I like raising canes, though. That's like, I were trying to take it. Finally growing some stuff back here. Man, people really got on me. I went she, uh, clean shave and stuff for the first time in like four or five years. People did not like it. What it? Okay, curious. How'd your children react?
Starting point is 01:42:05 Um, didn't care. Well, my daughter didn't mind it because when I gave her a kiss good night, uh, uh, uh, she was like, oh, that doesn't, that doesn't hurt me. It's not itchy. That's funny. I, I see kids break down when their dad shaves their mustache. No, that's what they did when I shaved my head that one time. Oh, yeah. Yeah, but not, no. And then my wife didn't mind it as much because I told you the two reasons I was doing it. The first is that it was just, well, I mean, one of the reasons I haven't just done it a long time.
Starting point is 01:42:32 The other reason was for the pilot, I wanted to see, well, there's two reasons, to be honest. The first reason was because I have, because when I had the extra weight on my face and I have, you know, clean shaving, terrible but I had you know lost some weight and whatever and so they'll give it a shot and then I want to also see because I have to there's a part in the the jumps back in time in the show that I've got to look significantly younger right so I was like well can I make that happen with that so and people were we're not happy with the clean shave um Mike joy Steph will you have your own Patreon slash discord for your channel eventually probably but I'm just so focused on making sure I come out with weekly good content so I don't want to overwhelm myself and then not do
Starting point is 01:43:19 great in one area. Yeah. Someone said, do that I have Chick-Flay in New York? They very well could. I just, I just don't go to it. Clipchamp Razor, have you ever been in a preview screening that had same energy as a midnight opening with people cheering or do critics tend to not react? Well, I know there's there's been some. It's a great question. I think that the Premier doesn't really count because the Premier even though there's a lot of critics and stuff too, there's tons of fans are two and the most electric one I ever went to I think was endgame and divorce awake those are the two those are pretty oh yeah rise of Skywalker yeah those ones a lot of times includes fans everything and cast family and
Starting point is 01:43:57 stuff too so does it yeah yeah so I think but I feel like the answer is yes I feel like really really good movies I just can't remember which experience in general but I'll tell you Dune 2 had a good response when I went to but I'm sure there are other ones for sure. Legend MM 600. Do you think soups and the bad guy will be friends? Snyder, you mean? Oh, that's hysterical. No. No, probably not. But I will tell you this, would Snyder, that's how, do you know the story, how Snyder and I'm like met, Steph? No, were you enemies? He was with us, but like so. Of course it is.
Starting point is 01:44:36 We went. So this was back in 2000 and you got to be. 2013. So we were getting, we had started a website, it was Shmosno.com, and I had gotten from a friend, I was getting really big scoops, like big ones. And I was getting scoops like the Beatles 2 was going to start happening. And they were looking into it and other things and everything. We were getting, we got magnificent seven and all these different things that we got. And the ironic thing is, we were doing essentially what Jeff is doing now. Because what the trades have to do is that the trades get. get a scoop. The trades have to call, have a conversation with the studio, say this, say that, and Jeff will do that still. He's said, look, I had this, I had this piece of information. I'm either going to go with it or, you know, you tell me if you want me to hold it or whatever it might be. He still does that from time and time, but he doesn't have to do it as much as he did when he was at the trades. And he was at the time in 2013. So he didn't know who the hell we were from a hole in a wall. He thought that we were at Schmo's, no, we were just like some
Starting point is 01:45:37 website and somebody's basement or something. So, we started to break these scoops. We're beating him to the punch, and he did not like it. Oh my gosh. Very upset. And he started calling us out as he does on Twitter. And I'm like, who the hell is this guy?
Starting point is 01:45:53 I'm like, what's he doing? I'm like, what is he doing? So then he kept going after us. And I went to, we had a mutual friend in Toby Asher as a producer. And I reached out. I said, dude, do me a favor. Reach out to this guy. And tell him, tell him that, you know, let's stop this.
Starting point is 01:46:10 And so Toby did it. And we, and Jeff and I started kind of going back and forth. And we said, let's meet for, we'll meet for some food. We went to this pizza place. We sat down. And it was in Westwood. Wow. And we sat down.
Starting point is 01:46:23 We had a great conversation. We became friends and that was never, never again. That is like so mature. Yeah. And it's like, but it's like, but that's really how it can be done. Not always no certain circumstances, but like, so that's why when he says could soups in him ever be friend. The answer is yes. Yeah, but I feel like, okay, yes, I hear you, but yours was more business. This seems personal. Like I don't like you. Maybe, maybe so. Anthony M72,
Starting point is 01:46:56 any chance fantastic for bombs. I got a bad feeling for some reason. Is there a chance? I mean, there's always a chance. But the pre-sale says no. And, it seems to be a movie that more people are excited for for Marvel. What was the last movie people got excited for Marvel is Deadpool and Wolverine? It seems to have maybe not that level of excitement, but more awareness from Marvel fans. I think it does well. Now,
Starting point is 01:47:26 does it crush and become a major hit because of what they need? That's going to be weak too. But no, I don't, I think it's, I think it's very unlikely that it bombs. Yeah, I'm with you.
Starting point is 01:47:38 Yeah. I'm still, there were two people who disappeared off this chat twice when I had there's two things that had happened the first well is actually two or three two that I can think of off again the first is the guy who wanted to make the bet with me
