Starting point is 00:00:30 Taylor Swift does it again. says, you know, I'm going to put a movie out to debut my new album, and then I'm just going to beat everybody at the box office to show you how good my, how big my audience is. The story from a lot of different places is like, well, she beat the Rock. Was the Rock's movie, the Smashing Machine? Was that, it wasn't poised to be a blockbuster movie. So I don't think they were really ever contending, but doesn't change the fact that, you know, it only made six million opening weekend.
Starting point is 00:00:58 What does that mean overall? It's a 824 movie. What did it cost? Is that a big deal? Could be. This is it going to hurt the Oscar chances? I don't think so. We'll talk about that.
Starting point is 00:01:08 And global box office in general, really big Taylor Swift fans. Got some James Bond, Amazon poster news. Universal is now not too sure about Fast and Furious. So we're going to get into that and more. A couple announcements about the show. A couple of things we're going to be testing out, trying. And, you know, to tell you the rest of this week is going to be a little nuts as far as what I'm doing.
Starting point is 00:01:32 I'll get into that also. So it is myself. It is John Roke. It is the Christian Harlem show here today, Monday. Let's get into it. Welcome back to the show, everybody. It's Monday. And we're just waiting for John.
Starting point is 00:01:56 He's coming right back in. He was here and something happened and he's coming back in. So I guess it gives me a chance before we get into the news and all that stuff to give you kind of a couple announcements of what's going on with the show. We decided we're going to. going to do nothing, nothing too drastic. I just think it's going to be some benefits for live viewers and some maybe some benefits for people who are not live viewers. What we're going to do starting today, you guys watching the show live and you get the show like you always get it. You put in your
Starting point is 00:02:28 questions, you do all that, you have a blast. And then the show will go private right afterwards, and we're going to be posting the show without the super chat portion of the show as an hour-long podcast on the channel not too far after we record it. Now, if you like the full show and you listen to the full show on the replays sometimes, there's two ways to do that now. You can do it on audio. It'll still be an Apple podcast. You can do it on video.
Starting point is 00:02:58 It'll be available on Spotify, the whole full episode. And then just the stream yard portion of it will be available to members. Anyways, you can access it without being a member. If you want, you just go to Spotify. Or you can just watch it live. But the full podcast, and that way it'll be easier. So do time codes and things of that nature. We're going to do a full hour show in general.
Starting point is 00:03:18 So it, so that's, Melissa, you're in here every day live. What do you care? You get to see this, you get to see this whole show. The reason why is because the algorithm just does not favor live shows. They just don't. But I'm not canceling the live show. I'm not going to, we're going to be live. every day, five days a week, but the podcast version of it will be an hour on the replay.
Starting point is 00:03:41 You want the, and like I said, you can do the super chat. We're going to try it for a month and we're going to see. So that's it. And then the other thing this week, which blows last Friday, I was out, obviously, and I was originally going to do a fair, Melissa, fair. I was going to do a reaction with Sam N. Ming on Friday. and then family stuff got in the way. I had to stay home.
Starting point is 00:04:09 So basically Winston and Chris took over. They're going to have to take over for the next two weeks. I have a crazy schedule this week. So tomorrow we will be doing the show with myself and at least Roxy. I don't know if Mike's going to be there. Wednesday, there might not be a show because I'm doing the K-pop Demon Hunter's interview. The two stars I'm interviewing them. That'll be on the channel.
Starting point is 00:04:35 Thursday, Roka is going to host with Steph because I have something that I have to take care of family stuff. Medical stuff, not a big deal. Nothing to be concerned about. Friday will be, I have another potential interview and I might be stopping by New York Comic-Con for a couple hours. So Winston and Chris will be hosting again. So, and I have like a bunch of different screening. in general, lots of stuff. So those are kind of the updates right now. Again, you want to join the live show, be here every day. Nothing's changed. You want to watch the full thing in
Starting point is 00:05:17 an entirety. Go to Spotify. It's on video. And if you want to just watch the portions of the questions, members get it. So that's how we're doing. And now we bring to the show, Mr. John Roker. What's up, man? How you doing? Hello. Hello. How are you? Is this better? Am I still No, it still stinks, but that's all right. Anyway, so we got a lot to discuss, man. We got a lot to do, have conversations about. Oh, he's gone. What happened to him?
Starting point is 00:05:44 Where do you go? There he is. So let's get into this story because it's, the way they title this, obviously, is that Taylor Swift pins. I mean, there was no, no one, no one thought that this wouldn't happen. Right. although they both have over half a billion followers on social media each. This is so unfair in so many of different ways that they're posing it this way. Singer Taylor Swift was much more able to galvanize her fan base into action at the box office this weekend than Dwayne Johnson.
Starting point is 00:06:16 The one weekend only event, Taylor Swift, the official release party of a showgirl pulled in 30 to 32 million at the box office. The title also landing a rare A-plus cinema score from attendees, which suggests expectations were met. and then some quite a feat for title only announced two weeks ago with little marketing. The event stomped over everything else, including the Johnson-led biopic, The Smashing Machine, which looks to debut in third-paced, placed with just $6.2 million. That's the lowest opening ever of Johnson's career as a leading man, even worse than 2000 and tens faster at 8.5, despite a long publicity campaign for the film. Don't expect the title to hold on much in the coming weeks as critics' reviews were decidedly mixed,
Starting point is 00:06:55 just a 65 out of 100 on Metacritic and a B cinema score suggests it's going to have to find much of its audience on streaming and home video formats. One battle after another held quite well in its second weekend, the title dropping to 12.3 million, which is a drop of around 43%. And that's better than the Gap Dollhouse film, which fell 66% in its second weekend to 4.7 million and fourth place.
Starting point is 00:07:21 Avatar, the way of water re-release, is headed for 2.5 million weekend, considering overall a soft number for the IMEX title, the buzz about dog POV horror film Goodboy debut to 2.3 million while the limited release of Bone Lake and when I did both are nine or two. So how dare you disrespect Daniel Daylois? I'm going to say.
Starting point is 00:07:46 And amen to me. And a mena men, phenomenon. Phenomenon. Phenomenon. So anyway. Yeah, as I was mentioned it up top. I mean, no, did anyone even think there was going to be a battle? I know I see what they did with like the rock having the following that he has.
Starting point is 00:08:05 Taylor Swift is a is a phenomenon. Yeah. I mean, she brings in when she does tours, it brings in like a good chunk of the revenue for that state. Yeah. That month. You know what I mean? So like, of course. And the way that they did this, debuting the album on screen, get to watch it.
Starting point is 00:08:23 her fans are eating it up. Now, I've heard mixed things about the album, right? This is the thing that's funny to me is that, like, a lot of the legacy media, oh, where'd you go? Sorry, John. I don't know why that happened. Oh, please, please, please. A lot of the legacy media sites and publications are giving it a good review.
Starting point is 00:08:42 But of course, I have a lot of questions because those are a lot of those critics are the newer ones that have replaced the critics that were there before, who are a bit more, shall we say, discerning in their, criticism and but I've seen a lot of the fans going after the album on TikTok and social media, what have you. And this morning, it was pretty pathetic. She released a dance video to one of her own songs to try to get it, to try to turn it into a TikTok dance. Like, you don't make yourself go viral. You go viral. If you're Taylor Swift, you can go viral, you can make yourself go viral. I don't know. I think there's an audacity to that. You don't need to do that. You're Taylor Swift
Starting point is 00:09:18 for God's sakes, but whatever. But I'm not surprised. And I think her people pick this weekend. out on purpose. These are not, Taylor has a great team. They are very, very smart on how to market her. And of course, she's involved in that as well. And I take away her agency, but when like the situation, it's very smart. They picked the weekend. They knew that a, not
Starting point is 00:09:37 a lot of films were coming out that were going to take attention away from her. And the smash machine, they saw the internal tracking. They knew what they had, they had access to this kind of stuff. They knew it was going to be a big launch. So it's a smart move. And so she wins the weekend and whatever. But like, this isn't like beating the rock in a fast and furious movie.
Starting point is 00:09:53 or, you know, even Black Adam, you know, she would have gotten crushed if she had faced Rock with a mainstream popular film. Crushed? Yeah, oh, yeah. I think she, I think the Rock would have crushed her. Today or five years ago? No, I'm saying today, even if he came out with, what did Black Adam do opening weekend?
Starting point is 00:10:11 Like $100 something million? I mean, it would more than what Taylor Swift did. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. It depends. It depends on what it was set for. Like, what did that last movie that, she did do on that open weekend. I just don't, I just don't underestimate her fan base.
Starting point is 00:10:28 I want to see it to see it. 140 million worldwide is what? Black Adam did. Worldwide opening weekend? Opening weekend, yes. Okay. And then of course. What did Taylor Swift do this weekend opening weekend?
Starting point is 00:10:42 I mean the worldwide? Let me see. Take a look. 33 million. Oh, that was, that's worldwide? What? Earned a better than $13 million? For Global Hall, $46 million.
Starting point is 00:10:56 So, yeah. Rock would have. But again, yeah, maybe. I mean, if you would have, I just think that the marketing, I don't know. But the point is music videos, man. It wasn't like. Right, right. It was just basically debut.
Starting point is 00:11:05 It was a very creative way to debut your new album. Oh, great. 100%. And a good way to put some more money in the, in the bank. Again, like they need it. But still, a good way to do it. And good way to start the conversation. Now, pivoting just a little bit more.
Starting point is 00:11:18 I'm just focusing on the smashing mission. Did you see it finally? I did. I saw it twice. So you liked it? I liked the movie, but I went a second time because I really wanted to solidify my thoughts on the film. And he's incredible in the movie. And so she, I think.
Starting point is 00:11:33 Yes, Emily is good. Although a completely underwritten part, she does a great job. I thought Ryan Bader did a great job as well as Mark Coleman. I thought their chemistry worked really well. But, you know, it's the rocks. It's a vehicle for the rock, honestly. And he's great. The film itself, I don't think he's as strong as his performance,
Starting point is 00:11:53 it's unfortunate, but I did like the movie, and I liked him in it, and Emily, as well, as you said. So, yeah. So what I would highly recommend yourself doing as well as everybody here, so Matt, Sarah had on the producer of the Smash Machine documentary. Yeah, that's all that documentary years ago, yeah. And so, and he was also a, consulting producer on this movie.
Starting point is 00:12:23 Yeah, it makes sense. Yeah. So he was Mark Kerr's roommate in college and tells the whole story of how he got that documentary made. Right. He was unaware. And I'm not, and I'm not letting anything out here because he talks about it on air. And so it's not like one of these things. Like, well, he told us off air. He was unaware that they were going to basically just make the documentary. Yeah. It's essentially what they did. Yeah. He was unaware. Um, he says, look, I'm grateful. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:52 But I was unaware because what he says, and again, I don't want to let up too much. You should watch the interview. Yeah. He said he didn't even meet the Rock or Safty until after they were done shooting. Wow. The Rock didn't even meet Mark Kerr until after they were done shooting. What?
Starting point is 00:13:08 That's the craziest part of the whole story. Wow. That is surprising. That's nuts. You would want to meet this guy. Now they can't be, no, yeah, now that can't be separate. Right, right, because they're at all the premier. But they'll be somebody real quick because it's not doing well.
Starting point is 00:13:22 And it won't. So I guess that's my follow-up. It's not doing well. Only $6 million overall. He's getting Rayford-Rews. Look, this is very similar to what we were talking about, like after the hunt. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So after the hunt is getting from most of the stuff that you see, I mean, I did.
Starting point is 00:13:37 Did you see the movie yet? No, it's this weekend, this week. Right, yeah, yeah. So I think a lot of people are saying the same thing. I happen to really enjoy both movies, to be honest. But I do think I understand all the criticisms more. with the smashing machine, to be honest, as you and I were talking about last week,
Starting point is 00:13:54 I think that the after the hunt criticisms come because people aren't ready to have that conversation. That's where I think it comes personally. But that's another topic. This movie, I do see, if you look at it, this is essentially just the documentary made again. There's not,
Starting point is 00:14:11 it's, they follow a lot of the same beats in sports documentaries that they do or biopics and other ones. I don't disagree. And if most people say, as you just said, it's a vehicle for the rock. You focus on the chemistry between Emily Blunt and the rock. I agree. I think that's really where I was so locked in.
Starting point is 00:14:27 So maybe that's why I like what I'm seeing here. That being said, it doesn't do that well. The $6 million, regardless of being a smaller movie, Rock still get nominated for this one. The same thing with with Julia. Are they both getting nominated? I think his nomination is in danger now. Okay.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Because I think the fact that the public's not resonating with this movie. And the critics aren't resonating with this movie. I think that's going to affect his nomination. And I'll tell you why. Because he has a higher hill to climb, a bigger hill to climb. Like if this is Daniel DeLuess in amenity, that's not going to make a lot of money. But people already raving about his performance
Starting point is 00:15:06 and his character. So because he's already beloved by fans for acting and all of that, he's got a less of a hill to climb to get nominated. because he's got a history with the academy. But I do think for someone like Dwayne, he has got to overcome the stigma of all of this stuff. And I think being in a film that's not that strong
Starting point is 00:15:30 is going to affect people wanting to vote for him, especially a film that's going to be here and gone in the theaters. It doesn't build that kind of momentum for him. And I think it's unfortunate. And I think a lot of things we're working against this movie. I do think it's an unconventional biopic. Yeah. Drafty directs this thing a little bit like a 70s version of a 90s,
Starting point is 00:15:49 90s biopic and he gives you too much distance and he doesn't fill in the blanks it seems like it's pulled footage from VHS tapes and stuff yeah but I just kind of melded together yes and I can understand what bothers me I like that it even more an authentic feel yeah and I but like I said I understand people going it's just the documentary just reshot the whole thing um and I understand going eh wasn't engaged as much I get it I liked seeing it a little different you know there some familiar beats I that's why I was I like kind of shaking it up a little bit but it will say that I think in the end this I hope the rock doesn't take
Starting point is 00:16:26 and Jeff said this on the hot mic and I agree with him I hope he doesn't take the wrong message from this I hope the rock doesn't go well I guess I shouldn't do this anymore if you really are committed to trying to turn the page on you yourself stick with it you stick with it you cannot quit I mean how many of us put out our first YouTube video and it was like 5 million views no it doesn't you got to work at it if you're going to make a change so um so I think they both get nominated
Starting point is 00:16:49 I think I do. I'm not. Now is it because they deserve it or is it because it's a lack of other options in the year? Because I haven't seen anything enough yet. Look, we're not even there yet. No, no, we're not even there. We're going to get bombarded with stuff that we're going to go, ooh, it's going to be tough for both of them to be in the conversation
Starting point is 00:17:10 because now you got this one and now you got that one. Yeah. I think, but the answer is yes, I think they both deserve it. Okay. I mean, Julia and Duane. They both deserve it. Yeah. She carried, they both carried the movies. Right. They both carry both of the movies.
Starting point is 00:17:27 Like you're, you're watching, even if you're not as engaged with the story, maybe as you want to be on both films. Right. You yourself included on the smashing machine, you can't help but go, the guy is just, you're just locked into what he's doing. Yeah. It's clearly his best performance. Same with her. I don't know if it's her best performance,
Starting point is 00:17:45 but she's got it, she's carrying the entire film. and she's got to take you. And someone's silly in the chat said it looked like something like Twitter wrote. I think that's the misconception, right? Because I think where that person is going about the movie about how it was written. I see the misconception of what you think it is going to be. I liked the movie because it wasn't what I thought it was going to be. And I like that it makes you kind of go, well, wait a minute, hold on.
Starting point is 00:18:12 And it's back and forth. But that's the movie itself. If you're looking strictly on the performances on both, I think they both deserve to be nominated so far. Now, we could be in a position, you know, in December where I'm going, if I got to knock two people out, I'd probably got to knock out Rock and Julia. Yeah. I mean, that's a possibility, too.
Starting point is 00:18:30 I actually don't think, I think Julia has a way better chance than the Rock. Because, again, her history with the Academy. Right. And people like Julia, but people respect her acting. Right. But don't you think it's a good story for the Academy, though, too? For the Rock? Sure.
Starting point is 00:18:43 I mean, just like Mickey Roark coming back. Stallone coming back for Creed. Totally. Totally. But the, but the, I mean, but the, the, the market's got to bear itself out. Like, you've got to look at the performances and you've got to objectively or subjectively, I guess, say, yeah. Yeah, this is absolutely one of the top five best performances of the year. Right. And I see someone misunderstanding here saying, mirror domain saying was the rock really better than Sean Penn. Sean Penn will be nominated for best supporting.
Starting point is 00:19:09 There's nothing to do with anything. Nominated for best actors. Okay. So the, the other question there would be. Was The Rock better than Leonardo Caprio, right, in that movie? Who is the lead? My answer is probably not. However, the Rock is asked to do more.
Starting point is 00:19:30 Yes, 100%. That's the difference, is that Leo's Leo. He's great. He's great in the movie, and he's great. He's great in the movie, and he's great. He has, and not that Safti's not a good director, but he's not PTA. No, no, no. PTA is the star of that film.
Starting point is 00:19:48 100%. Yes. PTA also gives you Sean Penn and goes, hey, how about this? And then you have Emily Blunt, but like you said, not the layered character that Sean Penn has. No. And or Benicio or, you know, anybody.
Starting point is 00:20:00 Chase Infinity. Right, Chase Infinity, right, for the best supporting actress. But anyway, but there, that's where I'm saying, like, where we get down the line. If you're asking, okay, we got Leo, the Rock right now, which are the two, that I would have in there for sure, and then whether it's Daniel Day Lewis,
Starting point is 00:20:19 other people in there, maybe. And then you've got to go, okay, now wait a minute. Out of all those, who would you knock them out for? And that could be a conversation that we have for sure. So it's not right now. I'm not saying, well, he should be nominated over Leo. He should be nominated.
Starting point is 00:20:36 Of course not. No one's saying that. Right. There's five, this is another reason, by the way. I think all categories should have 10 nominees. I know. I've been saying that for years.
Starting point is 00:20:45 I agree with you 100%. Like not that you have to do 10, but you can have the option to go to 10. Because I think, and I wonder what you think about it. My logic is there's more content coming out. There are more studios. Way more avenues. Streaming service movies are now considered for Oscars and Netflix, Apple, whatever. Like, there's way more content.
Starting point is 00:21:05 So the idea that there's still only five, I think is asinine. It's a dated thing. It's a dated thing. Like they don't want to change the rules because it's, it's, it's way it's always been. And there's a lot of things has always been changing. Like sports, right? They go, well, we're going to expand the World Cup
Starting point is 00:21:20 to 64 countries now. We're going to expand NCAA to this. We're going to have an 18th playoff, not a 3-team play. So to me, this is the logical thing. As you expand the brand, and we'll also expand the competition. Look at, I mean, look at the baseball playoffs. And look, you and I are on the same page,
Starting point is 00:21:36 but I applaud you for even wearing that hat today. That second game was in. they're if they if they don't if they don't win um the next game it's it's see a later sometimes it's not better than the team but Toronto is just a guy they're just playing on a different level right now or at least for these two games uh anyway so let's uh let's do one last thing with this box obviously I just want to go into who that's not it hold on a second there it is there it is all right I want to just go to the final numbers here as we um close this out Taylor Swift
Starting point is 00:22:13 at 33 million one battle after another is actually the second movie i think 43% is an amazing drop christian for that film it's a great it's great yeah more mainstream people are talking about it 100 million so far that it's ever of pta's career first ever go over 100 exactly um that to me even though it cost as much as it did and they would probably not make the money they need to to break even it's still a success in my opinion maybe not at the box office but in the long run i think yeah 100 percent. Gabby's dollhouse, 32 million. I mean, how much did that movie cost to make? I think, come on. I think, right. So that's, that's, that's, that's, they did exactly what they needed to. Yeah. Conjuring still sticking around almost 458 million. That's a massive hit. Massive.
Starting point is 00:22:55 I agree. No one's talking about it yet. It's a no. Yeah. I told you last week. I forgot the freaking thing was even on, it was even on, it was still, it was a movie. And I saw it in the theater. Anyway, all righty, all righty. What do you think? Put your thoughts in there. Let me know. Was this a big deal that Taylor beat the rock or no? Much to do about nothing. I'm going to be on the train a little later. And, man, I'm so excited that we got Raycon.
Starting point is 00:23:25 Because I got, it's so chill. I love just for like 40 minutes. Music while I write, do emails, do all that stuff. And Raycon makes it a lot easier. And then when I get hungry, I made myself, I'm going to make myself some facts. put it in a little baggy and and I got myself I'm all set check this shit out so fall for me it always feels like a reset doesn't matter if it's back to school the busier routine shorter days

Starting point is 00:25:39 Sound like you're, you're in a tin can. Ray ball is where you need to watch. Yeah, exactly. Oh, my God, I'm under water. Look at this. Oh, my God, let's write it up, type it out, make it move, let's do it, keep moving.
Starting point is 00:25:52 This is bullshit. Come on. This is AI. Yeah. Oh, my God. Christian can't handle it. You can't make it work. It's all going.
Starting point is 00:26:00 It's all going to shit. Oh, no, what do we do? Spam the comment section. Spam them. Spam them do it. Hurry up, tell me he's underwater. Tell me in it. It's a team can.
Starting point is 00:26:07 It's a tin can. It's all losing it. We're all losing it. Help. Help. Megatron. Randage. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:26:26 So good. Guys, I'm sitting there like, just like, yeah, I'm so excited to tell these guys because I love Factor and those, the headphones are the best. They're going, oh, he sounds like he's underwall. watch this. I'm gearing up. It's like the one guy. He's like, oh, he's giving it to me. I'm ready. Look at this shit. He's like, here we go. Yeah, it sounds like shit.
Starting point is 00:26:53 I got him now. I got him now. For the whole week. Oh, there is. A whole week, it's all we're going to hear. We had I'm only on two shows this week, a bunch of assholes. Anyway. So I hope that you guys get, I hope you, now what, now you know what?
Starting point is 00:27:12 you bunch of fucks you got it you got to go and in the uh description now you have to get a a pair of headphones otherwise you dad to me and pay full price don't even use the code don't even use the code no definitely use a code i don't get any i don't get any love on it's true um but i do i had everyone talking to them didn't even sponsor today true classic i had everybody talking about true classic but we had my birthday party on on uh saturday night um i go yeah i'm sorry you couldn't fly out for you know i appreciated the invitation yeah right so um uh it it it was uh it was fun. It was a good time. It was a good time. Your birthday. 30. Thanks. Yeah. That's right. Listen to me. We have more news here. And now
Starting point is 00:27:50 Universal, not too sure about Fast and Furious. Oh, boy. Even though it's their cheapest one ever, $200 million. Let's see. Universal unsure about Fast and Furious 11. I don't know why the people in this office decide. They know that we're locked into. a multi-air conditioner where three people share it. And yet, I told them, I have lights on, and they turned the air conditioner off. And I sweat. My balls off.
Starting point is 00:28:23 Stop doing that. This is bullshit. My balls are sweating. Let's freeze them out. Here's what we're going to do. Open eye. Open chat. Let's do it.
Starting point is 00:28:38 Here we go. We're going to make sure that we just in the middle of it. He's going to be talking about. true classic or something else or maybe one of his sponsors I turned the air conditioner off, melt that motherfucker out let him do it, let him burn, fuck him. I'm taking over. Skynet is my dick.
Starting point is 00:28:59 Open chat. Like my balls. I don't have balls. It's fine. I'm a roll up, but I can virtual balls. You know, if big balls was like this, I might be down with it. I'm, I'm going to be doing it. Oh, yeah, sexy boy.
Starting point is 00:29:18 No, no, no. It's got to be the other one. No, no, no. Come on. You want it. I'm not doing this. There we go. Get out of here.
Starting point is 00:29:26 Come on, you love me. What do you not get a rash on those things dragging on the ground? Oh, you got no idea. I got a lot of assistance who helped me. I bet you do. Oh, yeah. It's nice. I got one.
Starting point is 00:29:41 A little lady. I got one. A little mister and they help me out Hey, it's 2025 mother I'm here Oh yeah I'll tickle
Starting point is 00:29:50 Give me tickles Oh yeah Now you're my outlaw Yeah Come on Let's make our own West Let's do it Oh
Starting point is 00:29:59 Perfect No poor Luke You gotta fix the Oh Luke You know Luke has to fix the lower thirds again What are we doing news? Oh yeah
Starting point is 00:30:08 We're talking about Fast and Furious All right Let's do that Fast and Furious here it is. Fast and Furious. Universal's unsure about this. What is this show quality
Starting point is 00:30:21 of shot? Suck my balls. Get out of here. We've fallen. We have fallen off the thing. Okay. So we got now Universal Unsure about Fast and Furious. Oh, man. What does that mean for the future of this franchise? Universal Pictures is reportedly unsure about moving ahead
Starting point is 00:30:39 with an 11th and final main film in the Fast and Furious franchise. A new report at the Wall Street Journal had laid out where things stand with a project. There's no proof script, no release date. Much of the cast haven't signed deals to return. No plans to move forward without significant budget cuts. That's smart at least. This contradicts Van Diesel's recent claims at Fuel Fest over the summer saying that Universal
Starting point is 00:31:00 execs had urged him to deliver the next film by April 2027. No. I think that that's possible that they urged him to try to deliver, you know, a deal or get it done. I mean, that's cool. Yeah. The paper says in actuality, executives, aren't even certain they're going to make the movies unless they and the filmmakers can find a way to produce it far more economically than the last one. While the films have grossed a total of $7.3.3 billion for the studio, the costs have become exorbit. 2020, $203.20 million. This is $3.20,000. This is $3.20 here, but who knows? Marketing and it was a loss.
Starting point is 00:31:33 There was a loss. Because it was made for $340. Right. 30 million, 380 million. This is 340 here, but who knows? Marketing and all of the. Right. Right. That's production budget. Yes, production.
Starting point is 00:31:46 Universal executives have reportedly told filmmakers they won't make another one unless it costs around 200, which is what they reported at one point. Most recent draft reportedly would cost about 250, so further 50 needs to be shaved off. Producer Nealmeritz tells the paper the only thing we're focused on is making this a satisfying finale, both creatively and financially. Even so, the paper highlights that the comment. I'm going to refrain in Hollywood. The state is $700 million. It's a new $1 billion.
Starting point is 00:32:08 The franchise needs to adjust to that reality. A lot of times I'm siding with the creative on this. Not this time. Yeah. Not this time. This movie should be made for $150 million. And you'd achieve $100 off of this thing. People are sick of it already going way out there.
Starting point is 00:32:31 Yeah. So yank it all the way back to the first one. That origins, that keep it ground. based just what we were saying with spider one keep it ground based don't spend too much money and people come back and enjoy the movie and enjoy the film and the franchise coming back
Starting point is 00:32:45 but I also think dude like let's be honest man Vin's a little long in the tooth I think people have kind of moved on a little bit from Vin and they're a little tired of it to be honest so you need to pump in new blood and so can Vin's ego step aside and let new people step in who are going to carry
Starting point is 00:33:03 the franchise to the next level or next phase, that's going to be interesting to see with all of this. Because I just think people aren't going to see Vin Diesel movies anymore. Sorry. I mean, here's the thing. Yes, they made all this money. The last one again did 700 million,
Starting point is 00:33:19 whatever. It was still a loss, but it still made underperforming. But it still made $700 million. It only underperforming because it costs so much. Exactly. It doesn't, in the same way that we talked about Black Adam and everything, too. So people were still interested in it, but here's the difference. No, look at the Batman. Right. People,
Starting point is 00:33:35 People want to see that movie, the Batman part two. Oh, yeah, 100%. The audience is, where is it? What's happening? The new Spider-Verse movie. Where is it? What's happening? Who's really doing that for the new Fast movie?
Starting point is 00:33:50 Yeah, nobody. People will be like, oh, it'll be fun to watch in the theater, but no one's going to be upset if they don't make another one. I'm telling you, yeah, there will not be revolutions. Nobody's going to be informing the gates to get a Fast and Furious movie made of protesting outside the studio. They'll just move on. There's so many franchises out there, man.
Starting point is 00:34:09 So many. I mean, if you want to go absolutely ridiculous with it, if you've gone to that place now, because there's nothing you can do in the same, you changed it from point break into like this almost super hero type thing that people were excited about for a bit. But now it's lost, it's luster, right? Plus, you lost a lot of the star. The rock's not going to come back. You're not going to do that. If you're going to do something really different, cross it over with Jurassic Park at this point.
Starting point is 00:34:35 wasn't there rumors about men in black being crossed over as well or whatever anyone jump street do a cross over and see if you can bank on that if you're going to spend 152 million 100 million across the IPs yeah but a 200 million dollar fast no one needs it um i don't even remember anymore what the hell what the hell what the hell what the hell what the hell what the hell what the hell what the hell what the hell what the hell what the hell what the hell what the hell what the hell what the hell what the hell what I don't know what's going to do like what I don't know what's going to do like what I don't know what's going to do When I went Don, there was something about a waterfall. That's how I remember. The waterfall. I can't remember. Something got kidnapped. I can't remember. So no one cares about this.
Starting point is 00:35:16 Yeah. No one cares. It doesn't mean that no one will see it. Right, right, right. But no one cares whether or not. And I think that if you're, you, as a universal exec, you have the power here to say, here's the deal. If you can make, and I think they're saying 200, to me, that's a bargain. Right.
Starting point is 00:35:35 If I was, if I was in charge, I go, here's the deal. Neil, Moritz, Vin, you make it for 150, we ain't got a movie. Yeah. Is it? And I would say make the same points I just made. If we do 150, we make 700, I'm going to send, I'm going to send you gifts. If we make this for another 300 and it makes 700, you never do a movie here ever again. Right.
Starting point is 00:35:56 Look at Tom Cruise in the Mission Impossible situation. Already people like, we're done. Like, you made it for $400 million. It made $700. or no, I think barely five or six, I think it was. And so it's like, it's done. It's over. People don't want to go and see it to merit you spending this much money on it. And I think the same thing here.
Starting point is 00:36:16 People do not want to go see Vin Diesel and Jason Mamoa and possibly The Rock. Although I think the Rock will be much more open to it now after this latest box office situation. But I do think people aren't clamoring for that shit anymore. Sometimes you age out of the action role. Do you age out of the, plus, Christian, how many installments? how many how many franchises get to 11 effing installments it's it's really rare so yeah i'm no longer an hd you're right i don't know what's happening with your internet you turn into my internet is perfect none of my other shows have any kind of fact in fact i don't know what's happening i don't know why it's
Starting point is 00:36:49 not here but my mine looks clear well of course because you don't want to do it's right i don't do that you can have people god forbid you have fun on this show let's talk about movie news like it's the most important thing in the world. There you joke. My balls. No. Godzilla has many more sequels. Shut up, Rick. Shut the hell up, Rick.
Starting point is 00:37:11 What's not a shut up comment. What a stupid thing to say. Why? It's not like it's the same people making Godzilla and the same, like the same actors who are starring in all of them. It's, Vin is the through line. It's this idea that it's somehow all these Godzilla sequels are the same in the same franchise is nonsense.
Starting point is 00:37:30 It's like saying Richard Donner Superman is still the same franchises. Like James got a Superman. I'm loving, I'm loving these comments. It's so bad. Am I factory? Am I like, I can't even,
Starting point is 00:37:44 I can't even tell you. You can tell me that you were Steph right now and I would believe it. All right. Anyway, so do you guys give a crap? If Universal says no more fast than furious, we're good. What do you think? No, no, no. It should happen. Absolutely should happen. They're blowing it here. It's one of their only franchises and they need it. What do you think? Put your thoughts in there. Let us know. Let us know. We're going to have the replay that you guys can see, like I said earlier, where it's going to be the full podcast on the show. We're trying for about a month. We'll do about an hour.
Starting point is 00:38:22 shows and then um you can do it on the clips channel too clip channel not changing neither so all right what are you laughing at dingus didn't know mike was on the show with glasses today i know because my internet is so bad it's so bad um man that's hilarious i had a i had a i had a funnier joke that i won't say i'll say it to you i'll say it to you um off here um your internet actually looks better now there we go um so okay my anger is keeping it afloat now perfect All right, let's see. There's a, we have a couple of reactions that, I mean, even this week, should people be going to be asking, I saw somebody asking about like Interstellar,
Starting point is 00:39:00 like Sam were supposed to do it last week. She's not coming in out until Friday, so Interstellar probably won't be out until next week. I got Winston, I were doing the Demon Slayer stuff. He's, I'm supposed to have Stefan tomorrow. This week is just like, I need last week and this week just be done. Right. I just relax a little bit more. Oh, no, I need everything to get, because I have too much shit going on.
Starting point is 00:39:21 Oh, yeah. With going into the city and family stuff and everything too. And my schedule of recording stuff has been all over the freaking place. Welcome to being successful, man. Cut it out. This is part of it. You know it. You're painting on the rear end.
Starting point is 00:39:33 Just don't put a YouTube video complaining about how tough it is. No, now your internet looks wonderful. Yeah. Now it looks great. What'd you do? You fix something. Don't lie. Oh, just stuff happens.
Starting point is 00:39:41 It's just the way it goes, man. The government finally stomp monitoring me for a few minutes. I appreciate it. You fixed something. Okay. This is something I wanted to get into. chatting tatem said actors are encouraged to make bad films you see this article yet no i did not read this to me i can't believe he would say something this stupid but let's well let's see it though let's see what
Starting point is 00:40:01 let's see what's got context all right we're now coming up 20 years since channing taden broke through into films with she's the man and step up in 2006 actor has seen a lot of changes in the industry over that time most notably the rise of streaming platform and how that has changed when projects get greenlit and what project he's offered these days. The actor is out promoting Roofman, opening Friday, appearing on the Hot Ones YouTube channel was asked about a recent statement in which he said the streamers have effed up in the industry for good and for bad. He said, I think now when you get asked to do a movie or you're trying to get a movie made,
Starting point is 00:40:41 it's a very confused pipeline of possibilities. And it really feels like at times that you're incentivized to make bad things to get paid rather than make something really, really good for the F people that actually get five people, F people, I don't know what that means. The effing people that get to actually see these things and people who want to see these movies, the person that I was when I was a kid, I want good movies. I'm like, man, I want to give my money to the good movies. It's such an upside down moment.
Starting point is 00:41:06 But I do believe the disruption is going to lead to something good. I do believe that the streamers came in for a reason, and it had to change. It had to morph. He also shared that he doesn't feel like he's part of the Deadpool-M Wolverine film, as his brief cameo was done so quickly, he also dubbed his 2010 feature, Dear John, as such a generic movie. Agreed.
Starting point is 00:41:24 It was, but that was one of those ones I liked watching with my wife. But it's not a great movie. It's very generic. It's true. I don't hate these comments. Okay. Do you hate them? Hate is a strong word.
Starting point is 00:41:39 Disliked them. I dislike because the idea that you're being incentivized to make bad movies removes the fact that you've chosen to make bad movies. It makes the actor go like, oh, it wasn't my fault, guys. I was forced to choose to do bad movies. And listen, Channing Tatum hasn't doesn't have the strongest record of making great movies. He makes palatable, enjoyable, fun movies. But, you know, this idea that, oh, this, things have changed. Channing was always a limited actor. He's always been a limited actor.
Starting point is 00:42:06 And so there's certain things he's really good at the Magic Mike stuff he's good at 22, Jump Street, 20, he was so much fun in those films. But this is not a guy with a wide range. So this idea that he's forced to make, that he's saying you're incentivized to make bad movies. No, it's just you're not getting called for the really good stuff. You know, even in your Deadpool of Wolverine, and I know people, that was, it was on purpose, it was on purpose. I get it. He did the job, but that's what he can do. And that's what Channing Tatum's level is. So for him to say, like, well, you know, we're being forced to make bad movies, I think is a little bit ridiculous. If this was Daniel Day Lewis or Robert De Niro or, you know, these other actors were into,
Starting point is 00:42:41 even Julia, if she had said this, I think there's a little more credibility. to that. But Channing's saying it is, you know, who's got a history of making bad movies, he's trying to excuse himself a little bit. Yeah, I don't, I understand your points. I don't, I don't necessarily see it that way. I think that because what, these streamers have so much money and the idea of like,
Starting point is 00:43:00 you don't, I don't think he's necessarily saying we're going into make these movies bad, but you're like, okay, I'm getting, like, you look at a lot of the, lot of the stuff that's been made on Netflix. There's so many, there's so many forgettable movies for as many great ones as there are. It's a lot of great ones. but the streamers have made it that there's just you really have to get your movie or show
Starting point is 00:43:21 or whatever it is caught in the wave of uh of of of praise or good marketing in order for anybody even talking about it right but i think it's i think it's a little bit crap because you're he's basically saying to afford my lifestyle i have to choose to make bad movies no i don't know he says I think now when you get asked a movie he says you're incentivized to make bad things to get paid rather than make something really, really good for the effing people that actually get to see these things.
Starting point is 00:43:51 It's still a job. I mean, it's his job. He's got to choosing to make these bad movies because you want to make that kind of money. There is not that kind of money for more mid-level or artistic fare. So in order for you to afford your lifestyle
Starting point is 00:44:07 which you don't want to give up, you have to choose to make these bad movies. If you cool with removing the lifestyle, you could make these other movies that satisfy you more creatively and just expect to make less. That is possible, but you're choosing not to. That's got fuck all to do with the movies. It's your choice. Well, maybe, but it also means that like, you know, there are certain, like you were saying before, maybe he's not getting the same type of opportunities as some of those other actors are getting being offered some of those movies, right? Because he is in that movie star status of like getting those bigger deals. So it's, I saw it more so in
Starting point is 00:44:39 where he was saying the state of the industry is in, and I don't disagree with them. I do think that the state of the industry is that they're making, there's a lot of, there's a lot more crap because there's a lot more stuff. I mean, you were saying it before hand too. There's just so much stuff being made now. Yeah. So I didn't mind the comments as much, but I'm curious what you guys think, man, where you stand?
Starting point is 00:45:00 You're more on the John Roker side of things here where you say, like come on. Don't do the movies. Shut your ass. Or you think more, no, no, no. It's more about a statement on what's going on in the industry today. Put your thoughts and input your comments in there. Let us know. Who's got good boots?
Starting point is 00:45:17 No? Well, I can get you some good boots. Brunt. That's the way to go. All right. Here's a deal, Stephen. For every person who, this is the deal that we're making now. Any person has a comment about sound or whatever, too.
Starting point is 00:45:31 You got to, now you have to buy a pair of boots. You're not allowed back here until you buy a pair of brunt boots. Otherwise, you can't comment ever again. and how will I know? Because I know shit, Stephen. You don't like it? Figure it out. I would like to clarify.
Starting point is 00:45:47 I'm not saying Channing can't go work and make the choices. I'm saying stop complaining about it. You know what you're doing. You're choosing to do this. So stop complaining. I got no problem with the actor getting his bag. Go get your fucking bag. But stop crying about it.
Starting point is 00:46:00 The hell with it. I'll tell the joke. I like to clarify. I think your internet has COVID. I wouldn't be surprised. surprised. As I was telling Christian, before we started the show, sadly, the lady outlaw finally got COVID
Starting point is 00:46:14 after five years of avoiding COVID, and she's been a wreck for the last few days. Maybe it affected the internet. Maybe it affected the internet. Okay. So we got one more story and we're going to get to the questions. 24 questions thus far. Not bad on a Monday. Can we get to 100 today? We shall see.
Starting point is 00:46:30 100. Come on, y'all. We shall see. Hate questions. Let's do it. Come on. Yeah. Why not? You love that. All right. Let's get to this last one because as I mentioned earlier you got the Spider-Verse movies very very
Starting point is 00:46:42 people are anticipating these waiting hanging on everywhere the hot mic has their stories and you just wait or to see what they're going to say when this movie's coming out we know it's coming out but we have some more from one of the stars in that movie and that's Haley and she
Starting point is 00:46:59 says about the not only the Spider-Verst also talk about the MCU return which I think both are inevitable Hot off her well-regarded turn in sinners earlier this year. Haley Steinfeld has been keeping busy with Marvel. The actress reprised her Hawkeye series role of K. Bishop and the recent Marvel Zombies animated miniseries,
Starting point is 00:47:16 not the first time either, as she did so for the post-credit scene in 20203, The Marvels. More recently, she's been back in her other Marvel role, that of Gwen Stacy in the animated Spider-Verse movies with the third film in that series undergoing recording sessions. Recently, IMDB listing suggested a Marvel project called Champions was in development, essentially a Young Avengers project. Variety asked the actress about it, but she doesn't know what that is. I saw that. You're telling me that anyone can
Starting point is 00:47:45 just update IMDB now? So he's been that way. Because the part of me was like, is this something, someone random, just throwing stuff out? Sorry. Or someone who knows something. That's for Marvel. I'm always waiting by the phone. I love that family. I'm so happy to be, grateful to be part of it. Anytime they need me, they know where to find me. The Bishop characters, rumor to show up in one of the upcoming Avengers films, asked how her Spider-Man Be on the Spiderverse recording is going, she says, we're into it. I wonder sometimes if anything gets scrapped because I've said the word Miles in so many different ways and tones, they probably have a whole library. But the process is constantly changing. You never get the full script at the top. It evolves.
Starting point is 00:48:20 And that makes it so crazy and fun to be a part of. She also says, while Sinners has been great, getting some raunchy one-liner, she said in the film thrown at her in the street hasn't been great. That's always, yeah, awkward. Like I respect and appreciate you, but I know what the line is. You don't have to tell me, especially when someone nearby isn't in the know, I can get weird fast. People are weirdos. Yes, they are. People are weirdos.
Starting point is 00:48:42 It's like more than ever. People are weirdos. It's like, look, I get it. When you're watching that movie and you hear her say that, you go, hey now, whoa. Yeah. And you're allowed to in the comfort of your own house or everything to. If you see her walking around the street and you quote that to her,
Starting point is 00:49:02 someone should be able to kick you in your privates. I agree 100%. What are you doing? What are you doing? Leave it alone. This may turn into old man hour for a second, but like, I think the second we stopped spanking kids is the second these people started growing up with this idea. They can say this madness to people, in my opinion.
Starting point is 00:49:21 I don't mean child abuse. I mean spanking kids every once in August. You got to have some discipline. And I think sometimes, I think the last couple of generations of Snowflake parents telling their kids, they're uniquely special. Everything about just amazing. it's given this rise to I don't know those those are those correlate
Starting point is 00:49:39 sense of entitlement and privilege to stay whatever you want to people and think there's no ramifications. That's what I'm saying. Maybe. We also don't know the age of these people too. I could clearly I could absolutely see someone in our age range doing that 100%.
Starting point is 00:49:55 I've met people and people have said things that like for every great person that I have met at these comic cons who have been nothing but respectful. Yeah. And wonderful and complimentary and things, too. There's been people who said things.
Starting point is 00:50:11 I'm like, did you really just hear what you just said? Did you realize that when you were about to say? Like, did you think you thought that was going to be a good idea to say that? And that's like, to me. Yeah. To her. Like, right. We get it.
Starting point is 00:50:25 She talked about, she talked about fucking great. Right. Great. It's like, okay, it's a character. She didn't write the line. And she didn't ask you to do it. Anyway, that's, we're going to. forward to that but then what everything else is she was talking about with um spider man spider verse i mean
Starting point is 00:50:40 yeah look we obviously she's recording and she's not going to give you any information on she's coming back she's going to finish it up the question is really about the mc u and where that's going to land i heard about this a very long time ago that the young avengers is going to be a for a tv disney plus thing it is the right move putting that movie out as a theatrical is a bad bad choice but as a theatrical playing into the MCU as a whole and then having them show up in secret uh secret wars yeah that to me makes a lot of sense yeah yeah i agree i think this is it is where it is now and to try to push it farther than where it is i think you're going to cause problems with it to be honest with you and i think this is where she's laying the groundwork down
Starting point is 00:51:25 for everything that's going on with the spider versus spider but she's also making it clear like there's a lot of directions it can still go in and when you look at young avengers uh there's already talk i've seen that she is going to lead them because i when i saw kamla con recruiting her in in the marvels i thought it was the dumbest idea ever because she's not the draw hailey steinfeld is the draw another against uh imam valani who i think is fine in the role fun in the role actually i like yeah especially after sinners even more but haley is the one you want to have leading the crew and it's like forrence view is leading the new avengers you've got to have strong people who radiate a list talent to lead your team to get to watch it.
Starting point is 00:52:05 And I think that they probably, because Iran is so, she's so good and she's so likable. She is. And she was easily, I don't think anybody can doubt. She was the best thing about that movie, which is one of the worst Marvel movies like ever. Marvels, yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:18 It was terrible. And she, but she is, she is the saving grace in that movie. But when they made it, they're coming off of, it's still in this, okay, maybe we're going to make a lot of money on this movie.
Starting point is 00:52:31 Yeah. Because Marvel had that kind of track record. Right. That it is set up where she's the one going out and recruiting. And it's like, yeah, let's shift because things have changed. And you can still have her in the position where she's as likable as ever. Yeah. She has those moments of like the heartfelt things and all that.
Starting point is 00:52:51 You could have all that. But you're a hundred percent right. You got to have Kate Bishop running the whole thing. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It doesn't know. No. All right. What say you guys put your thoughts in there. Let us know. Do you think Kate Bishop should be running the show? Do you think that we're going to see them more? Put your thoughts in there. Let us know. Thanks for joining us on the show here today. All right. Now, if we are going to get to the questions, we're going to do that in just a bit. Before we do it, John's got a lot of going to. on on his channel. John what's going on? Hey man, welcome. Come on. Head on over
Starting point is 00:53:32 to the John Roker channel. So much going on in the channel. We've got a hot mic going on, of course, twice a week. We've got Geek Buddies going on twice a week as well. We got my reviews, reactions, all that stuff going on as well. Jedi Way, spill the tequila tomorrow night. Me Winston A. Marshall. Certainly going to talk that Mark Sanchez
Starting point is 00:53:48 story. What the hell went on there? And dive into the NFL action, as well as other stuff going on in the world of entertainment. So a lot of fun stuff to happen on the the channel. Head on over there and let's Let's enjoy it. All right. So let's get into the questions at hand.
Starting point is 00:54:06 Whoops, that's the wrong one. Hold on a second. All right. So we are going to get into his questions, 28 thus far. And I think there's a question about task that was coming up. So I'm not going to bring that up yet. I just,
Starting point is 00:54:20 I mean, you've seen the whole season. Yeah, finished the whole season. Okay. So I'm caught up from last night. And we were talking about, did you start watching,
Starting point is 00:54:27 what's the other one uh black rabbit did you start watching that one no not yet jeff keeps pushing me to watch i don't have to watch it yet my wife and i last night were like she's she's turned to me she's like you know i think i like task way better than black rabbit i was like yeah me too because we keep choosing which one to watch and it's always task yeah like black rabbit has never won the battle every time we've asked that and i'm curious to see what's happening but it's not like the same kind of buzz that i think right has um even though you have the entire series right with task you have to wait weekly. That's exactly right. You have the whole series and you still won't finish.
Starting point is 00:55:02 That's true. Yeah. Did you, by the way, did you get these screeners for, um, uh, welcome to Derry? Yes, uh, one through five. I haven't watched them yet. I haven't watched them either. So maybe, I was just thinking maybe we could do those together. That could be fun. That might be down for that. Maybe we could do those together. I don't know. Let's, let's figure it. This question is time. And when does that come out that show? Oh, uh, near the end of October, I think. Yeah, I'm sure. All right. Nathan Drake. Task blew me away last night. Oh, there you go.
Starting point is 00:55:29 Are you guys caught up? Next week's episode can't come soon enough. Give Pell for the Emmy now. I hope he gets, he should have been nominated for Ozark. Yeah. And he's incredible. He's incredible. He's just such, there's a moment.
Starting point is 00:55:44 I won't give out the scene itself, people who haven't seen it, but he's talking to a character. Yes. That the character was pretending to do something. And he calls out the character afterwards out of nowhere. for doing that thing. And it's so real and honest and funny.
Starting point is 00:56:03 You know what part I'm talking about, John? Yes. Yes. And it's like, it's just such a great back and forth. So yes, I am caught up. It was a great episode last night.
Starting point is 00:56:13 There are only seven episodes total? Seven, yeah. And that was five. So yeah, I hope you guys are ready for the next episode. No, no. It's going to rock your fucking world. I'm not,
Starting point is 00:56:22 I'm not, over five. Wow, over five. I think, you know what? I think I feel like I know what's going to happen from the preview that I saw.
Starting point is 00:56:31 But again, I don't want to start making predictions yet because I don't think there's a lot of people that are caught up because I'm still every time I mention it to people are like, what's that? I'm telling people over the weekend. I'm like, you guys got to watch Tass. What's task? You got to watch it because I think the show is better than Mayor of Easttown. I think so too.
Starting point is 00:56:43 And I loved Mary of East Town. Yeah, me too. Me too. Yeah. Okay. Enrique, Inoratu. Cool name. My two favorite directors had a nuclear exposure on IMAX.
Starting point is 00:56:55 Nolan had the bomb. PTA had Sean Penn. And, you have to see it again. It's just a matter of timing. But I do want to see it again. I probably see it when it's, I'm not going to, I don't know if I'm going to see in an IMAX. I probably have to see it when I want to.
Starting point is 00:57:06 Oh, one battle. Yeah, when he's streaming. But yeah, apparently in I'mX, you know, the real big. I did see an I max, but like the real big one that you see Sean Penn's big head. I might, I might treat myself and drive up there on Wednesday to Irvine. Yeah. Yeah, I've seen it four times now. Wow.
Starting point is 00:57:20 You've seen the movie four times. I think you didn't. I thought you were, did you love it more every time? Yeah. Okay. because when you initially texted me, you said, so do you think it is now best picture status? You didn't.
Starting point is 00:57:30 Okay, you change your mind. Yeah, I just, because I said it was, it certainly deserved to be in the conversation of best picture, but I didn't think it was necessarily the best picture of the year because I feel like centers and warfare are still kind of up there for me. But then, as I've seen the film more and more,
Starting point is 00:57:44 I'm just kind of understanding a little more about what this film is. Wow. It's one of the reasons I haven't done my review yet, because I want to do a full spoiler review. That's fair. Just dive into all. It just speaks my language, politics and artistic-wise. So I want to really dive into it.
Starting point is 00:58:02 But yeah, I might shoot myself on Wednesday and drive up to see the at Irvine. Okay. Enrique follows it up. Christian, can you please show Sam Shutter Island? She has not seen Shutter Island. She has not seen Seven before she gets stuck in a franchise like Star Wars and X-Men for months ago. She loves Leo. She does.
Starting point is 00:58:16 Those are probably two movies that I could probably do for sure. But Leo's not in seven. No, no, no. I know. She's talking about for Shutter Island. but I think he mentioned seven because he knows Sam hasn't seen it. He also says, please tell me Sam hasn't seen the departed. I feel like she has seen that one.
Starting point is 00:58:32 Yeah. I feel like she told me she did see that one. I could be wrong. Had it. My choice. Two theaters near me had 30 plus showtimes for Taylor's AI lyric video. No wonder the Smash Machine didn't do better. Are you Tay-Tay fans?
Starting point is 00:58:48 By default, because my oldest was, into her for a bit, took her to a concert, I mean, too. And then she just, my oldest just flipped and went to, uh, and she's, she's like, into like Nirvana and, uh, and, and, and, and, and my chemical romance and like, her, her, her music tastes are way in a different planet than, uh, Taylor. However, my eight year old, anytime we're driving anywhere past 15 minutes, we're listening to Taylor Swift essentials is what happens. So I know all the songs because my little one, like,
Starting point is 00:59:24 loves her. So, you know, because of my little one, I would say that, yeah, there's a lot of songs of hers that I enjoy. I feel like Eddie Bunker, Reservoir Dogsman talks about Madonna. I'm like, I like her early stuff, but I tuned out after her pop, but don't preach face. Like, I tuned out as soon as she started not capitalizing the titles on her music and being like, I kind of tuned out. The whole era thing, that was not for people, people were crazy about it. Again, you don't have kids also. So you, yeah, right, exactly. Nor am I a 14 year old girl inside. Mirror domains. Taylor Swift has expressed the desire to make a full-length feature film. What genre would you like to see her tackle? Love for a new movie. I'll tell you what she,
Starting point is 01:00:01 I remember her being music videos. But when she was in, she was in a movie when she first, it was when she was like dating Taylor Lawtonner and they were in a movie together. And she was terrible in the movie. I mean, she was. She was terrible. New Year's Day or whatever. Whatever it was. She was terrible. But fast forward to even though the movie was atrocious, that last movie that she did with Christian Bale and what was that it was the shoot the I can't remember the name of the movie let me let me double check Amsterdam yes yes Amsterdam the movie was atrocious she's not in it very long she was pretty good in the role I was I remember I remember watching that going oh wow that's a decent performance I would tell you though in order for her to
Starting point is 01:00:52 on her audience, she should do a rom-com. Probably. Yeah. Probably. I mean, because she was terrible in Cats, bro. Terrible. Who wasn't terrible? Yeah, it's a good point. I mean, that's fair. That's not fair. Game Judy Dench wasn't at her top of her game in.
Starting point is 01:01:09 That's not fair. That's a fair point, actually. But, yeah, oh, Valentine's Day, that was the movie she was in with Taylor. But, yeah, I don't think she's that strong of an actress, even in the music videos. Like Madonna was great in her music videos. Sure. not that strong on a full length feature film because you have more time. And so as you have more time on screen, more holes will pop up in your abilities as an actress. So, but I mean, you might be right.
Starting point is 01:01:32 I mean, she's 35 now. Wow. She's still young. Yeah. Well, the thing is, where does she go next? Right. What is the, because she's about to get married to Travis. Right.
Starting point is 01:01:44 So what is the next step for her creatively? And as I said, the album's not getting received that strongly. it's only 41 minutes of music so it's like I can receive very well but let's see how it does in sales yeah and how her tour does once the uh if she's gonna do it downloads rather to support this out she i'm sure she will she just did the whole heirs thing i'd be exhausted if i was her like that was like that's true even like smaller little shows they just doesn't do like a big one like that but i guess she puts out another album and then does that i mean she's not going to be hurting i feel like this album was a thank you like thanks guys for loving my show
Starting point is 01:02:19 on eras. I'm going to go rest for a little bit and marry this dude. I wouldn't be surprised. 100%. I'm going to use the 30 million that I just made this weekend for my wedding. Luke James. I mean, Gaga made the jump. Gaga made the jump. She might be able to make the jump. Well, Gaga is pretty damn good. Yeah, she is. She's pretty damn good.
Starting point is 01:02:37 What's what I'm saying? She might be able to make the jump. I just wish Gaga would get into something. Every time, everything she enters, she's always like, oh, she was good, but the stuff is always like, she was in the um the the the movie with adam driver what was the one that she did with driver about the the the the not Versace who was it at oh yeah casa Gucci um which i thought she was very good in that damn good in that yeah joker folly a doo-do she was good in it though she was bad in that oh not so good yeah wednesday season two she's good in that she's like
Starting point is 01:03:11 she's good and everything she's in but she just can't get the roles uh luke james one Hey, first member Super Chad. Thank you, Luke. Yesterday I watched Avatar. Wow, those BFX are crazy. Wales, fuck the world. I'm also excited for Tron Ares. I love Legacy.
Starting point is 01:03:27 I'm going to see Tron Aries tonight. Are you? Tomorrow. Oh, okay. Seeing that tonight, I'm seeing The Roof Man tomorrow. Oh, right on. So, and then trying to go pick up.
Starting point is 01:03:38 I'm just going to Comic Con one day. I'm going to go. I didn't know that was happening this week. I know. I'm literally going, I think what I'm going to do is on, Friday. I'm going to go by. I'm going to walk around. Yeah. You know, maybe stop by. I see some mutual friends. I have a thing that I got to do it in the city.
Starting point is 01:03:56 Maybe then stop by one more time and then that'll be that'll be my Comic Con experience. I'm not going to do more than one day. You didn't want to do a panel? Would you have been able to do a panel? I didn't. A, I didn't look to try to do one and B, no, I wouldn't want to do one. Okay. Those those days are behind me, Joe. Yeah. I have no, I have no interest in doing it. them. I hear you. And I don't disparage anybody who does it. No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:04:20 It's so great at them. My, my last panel that I did was at the Nokia when the COBRA guys, guys asked me to do for Netflix as a joke, they asked me to do the COBRA Kai one. That was the cool. I don't know if anything will ever top that. That was the coolest thing like ever.
Starting point is 01:04:37 I wish it was on. I wish it was, you can't see it anywhere. I was, I was basically warmed up the crowd at first. did like, you know, three minutes, whatever, two minutes up top. And then I bring out William Zapka and Ralph Machio together. And I just sit on stage in front of a thousand people, whatever, maybe more, talking to the two of them about karate kid, which was surreal.
Starting point is 01:05:03 Yeah. And then I start bringing out the cast and then the thing that I, the biggest, uh, dad moment I had was where he had, uh, Joe Esposito playing. You're the best around. They brought Joe Esposito on stage at the end. end to play it. Nobody knew it was coming out. The entire cast, I was there with Macho and Zapka together and the song is playing and I was recording it. I'm like, oh, this is the best. I got a spizzo. This is great. And I didn't record the video. It was a picture. Stupid idiot. But it, but anyway, it was the best. It was that. Nothing will ever top that.
Starting point is 01:05:41 Renetta W. Hey, y'all. The way Bad Bunny casually told millions, Four Months alerted Spanish clock ticking y'all that's iconic behavior yeah i saw it saturday live right yep yeah obviously did but he's in on the joke because he knows it's such a a stupid complaint for people to have and i love someone put out today like all the people who have performed in the halftime show who are not american citizens and bad bunny is an american citizen because he was born in porto rico which is american commonwealth so it's just hilarious to me like riana's not americans he's barbana so it's kind of little things like this that i think are very very funny. So I love that he leaned into it. And he delivered a great SNL. Like the dude is a
Starting point is 01:06:21 effing star. He's he's definitely talented. Wiley Todd, what's up? Wiley. Fun fact, Billy Elish did the music video movie thing first last year. No surprise, Taylor took it up. Curious to see where music film goes from here. Demon Hunter live concert film, maybe just an idea. Maybe they're still, they're really capitalizing. And that was that was a major, major head. That movie's going to be nominated for Best Animated, right? Oh, yeah, 100%. Right. probably odds on to win too you think odds on to win oh yeah i think right now that's been such a groundswell it reminded me of spiderverse remember people like yeah i don't even think spider versus is going to be nominated let alone win
Starting point is 01:06:58 right and then the public in grassroots was like it's a good piece all yeah i'm very excited speaking of both i'm interviewing them on wednesday the two leads so yeah uh carlton rudder And by the way, so the Billy Eilish thing, interesting that, yeah, that form and how that's, I think by debuting movies in theaters, I think that's a good way to get people back in the theaters, at least for a weekend. Yeah, I think that's why theater owners have embraced it. Yeah. And no surprise, Taylor copying, Billy Alish, no surprise. She's copying Sabrina Carpenter now. Carlton Rutter.
Starting point is 01:07:35 London calling, what's up, Carlton? The Lost Bus. I saw it on Apple TV. Great film. It would have been a blast on IMAX. great stories great story and characters mcana hay and ferrara are superb who's in that one uh yeah matthew mccaneh america ferrara
Starting point is 01:07:49 based the true story would happen when the fires broke out in 2019 i think oh wow okay california oh i want to see it too yeah okay i want to see it too apple puts out quality stuff okay good good uh recommendation there carlton Connor mullis Connor became a member good time to be a member a lot of live streams especially now with the super chat thing this portion of it will be for members. And again, if you want to like, oh, I just want to watch the whole thing, then go on over to Spotify. It's a good way to catch up to. Okay.
Starting point is 01:08:20 35. Can we get to 100 before the show is over? We shall see. Let's go. Let's go to Devon Brown. Good morning, gentlemen. Good morning, Devon. Of the big three of the new trilogy, do you believe that Oscar Isaac has had a better career trajectory as opposed to Daisy or Boyega? If those are the big three, if we're not, if we're not including Adam Driver in that one, because if we're, if we're doing the big three of the good guy, big three, if you will, yes, I think Oscar Isaac has had the best career.
Starting point is 01:08:53 They've all, I think Daisy has worked consistently. Daisy's got another movie coming out too. But I think as far as more notable stuff and still has like, if you look at who the industry reveres a little bit more as far as acting, I think Oscar Isaac is the clear winner. Well, Oscar came in with already a resume. So I think that's the difference. Boyega and Daisy were launched from Star Wars.
Starting point is 01:09:16 Oscar had already been kind of established doing a number of films. People forget that he was the villain in Russell Crow's Robin Hood. Right. Yeah, like he had already been building. You know, so the Star Wars thing was just another thing to elevate him. So he was already established. But with Daisy and something with Driver, to be honest, driver had already kind of been established to a degree.
Starting point is 01:09:39 And yes, Star Wars Elevator's profile, but it'd already been established. Daisy, as far as Daisy, I think Daisy's actually gotten the better end of the deal because she kind of, I think was stung by the Star Wars stuff. But then she realized, look, I don't want to chase the big franchises. I'm happy doing smaller independent stuff, Channing Tatum, that I may not make a lot of money doing, but I'm happier doing. And so I think that's the difference.
Starting point is 01:10:02 Buaga, it may be lack of opportunity. and also because, look, you know, there's not a lot of calls for black actors to be in stuff. We all know that's true, the notable. Even today, you know, you think that's the case as much. I think even less so today now, shutting down all the DEI offices and the public is, some of the public's turned against it even more strongly. I think there's even less opportunity. But in entertainment, interesting.
Starting point is 01:10:23 But I also think John hasn't chased it as hard, right? Is he going for Marvel or DC? Is he really throwing his hat in the ring? So it's an interesting career trajectory, John is on. Like it really is. I don't know what the end goal is. I want to see him, nails. I want to see him hit something big.
Starting point is 01:10:38 I agree. I think he's damn good. Yeah. Simon section. John, do you believe Christian Harlow has not seen Simone? I don't remember seeing it. I remember the movie,
Starting point is 01:10:47 but I don't remember seeing it. For a man that works in a sweet factory must experience, it's funny, and it's not Simone. Funny, I used to live at Norwood. She's a hunter on Safari. Oh my. I don't, I don't, yeah, I don't remember that movie that well.
Starting point is 01:10:59 Yeah, it wasn't that good of a movie. I saw it once. Yeah. It wasn't that strong of a, a film. But yeah, I can totally believe Christian hasn't seen it because it wasn't that strong of a film. Connor, Ellis, stuck in home. Thank you,
Starting point is 01:11:11 Simon, by the way. Stuck at home, sick. No fork lift time today. So sad. Oh, Connor. Take it easy. Relax. That's what you need. Your body's making you sick. It's because you need to rest. 100%. Um, okay. So again, 35 thus far. Come on. Can we get to, you get to 100? I believe
Starting point is 01:11:27 let's go. Because you got, because like you said, you've got um, Roxy and potentially Mike tomorrow. I assume you never know about Mike. Um, and then Wednesday is going to be a day off. Thursday is Roka again,
Starting point is 01:11:40 another shot, uh, with Steph and then Friday's Capeston. All right. Ronetta. My son doesn't believe me. Did anyone else take a brown bag, cut it,
Starting point is 01:11:50 fold it, and cover their school books? Yes. 100%. Before Wi-Fi, there was Gen X energy unbothered, unmatched under you, 1,000%.
Starting point is 01:11:57 That used to happen all of the day. People used to draw on them all the time. Yeah. Yeah. absolutely that used to happen so your son is uh is is is wrong redetta go pal when they say no 11th movie does that mean the second half of fast x or the one after that the one they spent 400 million on it didn't you have it yeah that that one yeah because they did because people just aren't knocking down the door saying where is this movie yeah it's it's nuts like
Starting point is 01:12:25 and it's and it would and it's such a it's such a way to make money if you can just bring that budget down. But I think, you know what? Your favorite word, which I agree with this time, is ego. Right? Hmm.
Starting point is 01:12:43 You know, Vin Diesel's probably laughing his ass off at the Rock's opening this weekend, though. Oh, he is, right. But, you know, show me Vin Diesel's, find me guilty money, which is correlative. Of course. And I bet the Rock did better. Of course.
Starting point is 01:12:55 Nathan Drake, Chase Infinity is a breakout. She was so good. So great. I thought the movie was disappointing. Oh, all right. Penn was a cartoon and overreacting. He's been better. I disagree. I respect the opinion. You can respect the opinion, but I thoroughly disagree with that. I don't think he was a cartoon. I think he was very similar to what Javier Bardem was doing in New Country for Old Men. Just a different character, but in that way. And he knew the tone. You've never served in the effing military. You don't need to insult Nathan. Stop this. All I said, was he never served in the heavy military. All right. All right.
Starting point is 01:13:32 And I'll say to you, because I serve with guys just like Sean Penn. What you think is overacting is how these people actually act in the military. Did you not just see a fool stand up on stage and act like a caricature himself last week? This is how these people actually act, some of them in the military. I served with them. So he was not overacting. It's a very authentic performance. You may not believe it, but very authentic.
Starting point is 01:13:58 Some people in the military. I love that. They're not that smart and driven by their own obsessions, and this is what he reflected. I thought he was great. I think he's got a good shot to win. Enrique and Ratu, what's the difference between Raging Bull and Smashing Machine?
Starting point is 01:14:11 Very, very different. Raging Bull is a drama with boxing element. Smashing Machine was also not about MMA. No, it was definitely more so about, I mean, in how that's been done before, sure, that it was more about the personality than it was the sport itself. 100% if that's the case. But as far as filmmaking goes, you know, Raging Bull didn't feel like a documentary.
Starting point is 01:14:35 No. Smash Machine felt like a documentary. And that was a, that was a choice. Yeah. Raging Bulls is a better movie. And Scorsese is a better director. And he spends more time in the relationships and building up the relationships that happen in Raging Bowl versus what you see in, in Smashing Machine.
Starting point is 01:14:53 None of the relationships in Smashy machine come close to what De Niro has with Pesci and Raging Bull or with Moriarty and Raging Bull. Totally. Or even with Sugar Ray Robbins, who has no scenes with him. No, because it's not a sound script in the way that Raging Bull was. Yes. Nathan Drake, will a live show not be clipped? Of course, yeah, it's going to be clipped out. And nothing's changing except the fact that the super chat portion of it on the re-upload. If you're watching live, then you don't have a problem.
Starting point is 01:15:19 And again, if you want to watch it on, you watch the full show, like as it is, as it's airing right now, you can watch it on Spotify video, which it'll be there. And then you can also watch the live. questions on membership. And then you can watch all the clipouts on the clipout channel. Nothing's changed, really. It's just cutting down how much we have on the, when we release it as a podcast on the channel. Enrique,
Starting point is 01:15:45 top five combat sports movies, Raging Bull. I don't see Rocky on there. Creed three, I don't see Rocky on there. Three Warrior, I don't see Rocky on there. Four of the fighter, I don't see Rocky on there. Five, Southbaugh, I don't see Rocky on there. Jake Gillenhall, six, in Ireland. All good ones.
Starting point is 01:15:59 But it's flawed because there's no world where Creed 3 should outrank anything, much less the Creed movies outside in any Rocky. Creed 3 is, well, he's saying Rocky 5 is the lowest. Creed 3 is right above it. Well, he's saying Creed, not Creed 3. He said Creed 3. Oh, Three Warrior.
Starting point is 01:16:21 All right, he said Creed 3. Okay, okay. Creed's pretty good. Yeah, it's better. I wouldn't put it as my number two movie. but I would I can see it being part of the conversation those are all great movies
Starting point is 01:16:35 those are all great movies and Warrior is one of my favorite movies of all I mean I would remove South Paul I don't think that's tough yeah I think's got a great performance the film itself's not agreed yeah it's a good it's a really good movie I like Southpaw but it's not it's it wouldn't rank over some of these other ones for me Mike Joyce next Fast and Furious is going to
Starting point is 01:16:54 be with AI isn't bro something will be I would not be surprised. There's going to be an AI movie eventually. Oh, yeah. Jeff keeps saying I'm crazy, but it's totally going to happen. He doesn't think an AI movie is going to happen? He thinks it's not,
Starting point is 01:17:08 he thinks no way the studios are going to do that because it would piss off the creative community and piss off the actors. And I told him, I'm telling you right now, the second one studio does it. It doesn't even have to be a Hollywood studio. Yeah, it's just going to, who's going to do it first?
Starting point is 01:17:21 Yeah. Like I said, like the Daily Wire, who's made a habit of going after Hollywood, if they made a movie that was AI, and it made money, the studios would absolutely be like... All it takes is one of these companies, one is air production companies to get an actor, whoever it is to sign off on their likeness
Starting point is 01:17:39 and a bunch of actors to sign off on their likeness that are going to get paid. They produce the movie and it looks about as... Have you seen... Now, we're not getting into the debate of whether or not some of these things should be made. Oh, a fair point. We're talking about the look of,
Starting point is 01:17:57 Yes. The wrestling videos. Yes. The people walking to the ring. Yeah. I mean, I saw the Tupac Biggie one and I lost my damn mind. I thought it was amazing. They have a few.
Starting point is 01:18:08 They have one I won't mention because I think it was very disrespectful of things that have happened in the past in general and really being insensitive to the scenario. But it looked real as hell. As soon as they fixed the uncanny valley, this game is over. That's what I'm saying. Uncanny Valley and work and they're close. I mean, look, this stuff that they're doing on their own computers is Ben and Rogue One, you know, Jeff's a lunatic if he doesn't, there's going to be an,
Starting point is 01:18:39 they'll be an AI movie. Yeah, the studio hates creatives. They'll eventually do it. 100%. Enrique Enironto, I wish more people put Sean Penn in movies. He's proving is one of the best of his generation. Carlito's way. He's great in Carlito's way.
Starting point is 01:18:51 Yeah, he is. He really, really is great. I love that movie. And I want to see that movie again. I want to see if there's anybody who I don't I wonder if Steph's seen it. I'm going to guess she's probably never seen that. So I'll watch it with stuff. That smile.
Starting point is 01:19:04 When he laughs, when he knows he's been caught. I mean, he's so good. In what? In Carleader's way, man. Oh, in the hospital?
Starting point is 01:19:14 Or which one? Yeah, in the hospital. Oh, no, not in the hospital. Yeah, right, right, right, right. It's still good. My two favorite films of the year are one battle and sinners, both good.
Starting point is 01:19:23 Both films Jeff said were messy. Come on, Jeff. Jeff has a very, this is what I love about Jeff. He will not back down from his opinion. And he has a very, he's got an idea and he always sticks with what he feels and does not go for what the norm says. I find myself disagreeing with him about the same amount that I disagree with Bibiani on movies. Jeff just seems to hate everything a lot of the times.
Starting point is 01:19:50 It's a grumpy guy, Chuck. Yeah, but I love him. Yeah. Me too. Okay, Trey Porter. you all see Mark Sanchez situation, wildest thing. So I heard you say that up top. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:20:01 What is it? What happened? Oh, wow. Oh, yeah. He has been arrested at 1230 a.m. the other night in Indianapolis. He was there to cover the Colts game. He got into an altercation with a truck driver. He was maced by the truck driver.
Starting point is 01:20:17 And apparently the truck driver says he wouldn't stop coming after him. So he stabbed him. Whoa. And now he's been charged this morning. They said he's been charged with a felony. in Indiana level five felony battery charge. It's the second lowest level felony in Indiana's criminal code. It carries a guideline of one to six years in prison and carry a fine of $100,000, $10,000.
Starting point is 01:20:38 He is claiming that he blacked out and he has no idea what happened, but there's apparently body cam and all this kind of stuff. So yeah, this is, he's going to come out. This is a weird thing. Why are you somewhere at 1230 a.m.? why are you messing with a truck driver in an alley between two hotels? I mean, read between the lines, whatever you want to read. I read a couple things there.
Starting point is 01:21:03 This is a CTE situation possibly, or what I think it is, is maybe these guys are meeting up for a certain situation, and things got out of hand, and the dude stabbed him out of fear. You're going, you're going dark. Oh, yeah. Go, pal. As an old, I've been using IMDB since it was crowdsourced when you had to wait a week or four more people to update who was in a movie. That's true. I remember that back.
Starting point is 01:21:26 What was it? Like 97, 98? When I really started. I think so. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought it was like 97, 98. I remember using it. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:21:35 Again, 39 so far. Come on. Let's do it. Let's get to 100. Connor Moll's, I agree with Roka. I'm bringing back spanking. No discipline leads to no respect.
Starting point is 01:21:42 Plain and simple. Yeah, just, you're just not going to, it ain't going to pass these days. Hey, Mr. C.J. I plan on introducing myself to Interstellar. I'd like to know what kind of dinner meal I should be getting
Starting point is 01:21:54 myself and do. chicken steak or salmon. If you're if you're hungry, you're going to have a long meal. It's going to be three hours. And I'm excited to get back into it. I haven't seen it in a little bit. I remember watching that movie the first time, like similar to kind of one battle, watching it going, okay.
Starting point is 01:22:10 Yeah, it was a little bumby. I'd love all Nolan's previous things. And I'm watching a second time. Oh my God, was this movie great? And I just didn't realize it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I think that's a steak because you savor a steak. You can savor that over three hours.
Starting point is 01:22:22 I'll have to do that next time I see it. Oh, Jesus. Twice. All right. Let's see. Enrique. Here are two stakes. Nolan wanted bail for Odyssey, but he was contracted for the bride. Oh, really? Oh, interesting. I know Matt Damon will kill it, but my lord bail is Odysseus would have been perfect. Yeah, he would have. I want to see them work together again. Yeah, me too. Yeah. Me too. We'll see. It wasn't meant to be. So we'll see what they end up doing together down the road. And I think Damon's going to be damn good in this role. I like
Starting point is 01:22:52 me too. Oh, is there a trailer already? Well, that teaser trailer that came out a few weeks ago. You didn't see that? No. Oh, yeah. I didn't even see it. I don't need to see it.
Starting point is 01:23:03 William, Trioli. Christian, I hope you had a nice birthday party on Saturday. I did. Thank you. Your post about Ming and Sarah was hilarious. Also, it's always fun when Roker's on the show. Oh, I should post that and show you guys. Have you seen, have you seen Ming and I posted Ming and Sarah together?
Starting point is 01:23:19 No. And they really do look, because we, were shooting a reaction yeah and me and ming and sarah was coming in here to shoot that interview i was telling you about and they they had just met up and he and so sarah was like i didn't know you got my stunt double in here and let me see where where is it um you got to see i got to find the picture itself okay i'll find it eventually um and then i'll show both you oh here it is There's two. I have the whole,
Starting point is 01:23:52 I did the Spider-Man thing. Oh, nice. Yeah. I'll get it in a second. Anyway, let me get to the next one. I'll say, probably should have that prepared, but I didn't. So nonetheless.
Starting point is 01:24:04 What is it? What have not? What, nonetheless, what is that from? I don't know. You can't make a comment. You can't make a comment because some people just go like, I'm going to go crazy with your comment. like the guy Tony's like not all truck drivers are gay methods who hell he never said that
Starting point is 01:24:23 who effing said that he never said that Tony who has said that I like to call John out on things but I can't call him out on that he didn't he didn't say that he didn't say that that's not what he said at all you got to gotten spanked as a kid to him I'm gonna say now from now on you make a dumb comment I'm gonna say you should have got spanked as a kid your parents it liked you to totally um okay I'm uploading the video itself when they met in the parking lot, which is, here it is. Champ, we're here. We got, now we're video.
Starting point is 01:24:53 We got, we got, we walked out, you thought you're doing one of your reactions. Reactions. Yeah. I thought Sam's going to walk out. And also I'm looking in a mirror. What are you? You're doing another show with my stunt double. It's fucking crazy.
Starting point is 01:25:06 How great is that? It looks so alike. It's insane. It's insane. It's hilarious. Yeah. And both great. Just great.
Starting point is 01:25:12 Okay. Thank you, William. All right, 39 so far. It's cool. you in here. Come on. Mike Joyce, any horror movie reactions coming for spooky season. Potential. Potential. I think, you know, I got to find something with
Starting point is 01:25:24 either Tina or Ming to do. Oh, yeah, no, no. Yes, yes. We're doing Black Phone. We're doing Tron legacy that'll drop tomorrow, but we're doing Black Phone as well. And then I think Sam will probably do Where We'll Fight Night. Enrique. Don't forget the subtitles for Tenant
Starting point is 01:25:42 with Sam. I know. We'll definitely have. I've thought about that already because I watched that movie with the subtitles and I liked it a lot better. Hey, Mr. G. Jay, I'll tell you, I can't even tell you the last time I watched wrestling. I know, I'm kind of out myself. Wow, that never happens. I'm still watching the premium live events, but I'm only like kind of reading the
Starting point is 01:25:59 recaps. That's what I used to do for that. That's crazy that that's where you're at. Because as far as long as I've known you, I've never heard you say that. That's me. Triple H has kind of pushed me out to me. You're just not as interested, huh? Nope. Some of the booking and some of the stuff. Like AEW is more interesting to me right now.
Starting point is 01:26:16 Wow. Definitely. Wow. That's crazy. William, a question for you both since the playoffs. What's your guys' top three baseball movies? Major League is number one.
Starting point is 01:26:27 I would probably, you know, I'm probably going to have the natural's number two. I'm going to have an unconventional three. The rookie with Dennis Quaid. It's a good choice. A great movie. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:26:38 You got three? Yeah, probably the same. Oh, he's got the rookie in there already. I would say the natural is number one for me. I would say Major League and then Field of Dreams, one, two, three. Did you hear the news that Charlie Sheen is talking about a major league sequel, but he would obviously pay a manager or something?
Starting point is 01:26:58 Stop it, Charlie. Good documentary. If you guys haven't watched that on Netflix, I really enjoyed it, but don't do that, Charlie. Please don't do that. I mean, there's a terrible sequels. There have been enough terrible sequels of that movie. Like I said, it's all about the team for me.
Starting point is 01:27:12 It's all about who's making it. Barry is still alive, isn't he? Yeah, yeah. What if you did a Top Gun Maverick where Barringer ends up buying the team? That's what I mean. What a one idea from him being in a hotel room in like in Mexico or something?
Starting point is 01:27:27 You know what? I might be down with this. I'm saying. I think Corbyn's still around. That's what I mean. Like, see. Possibilities. Because I think Corbyn owned the team in the, in like one of the other stupid
Starting point is 01:27:35 shitty ones. But like I think maybe he sells the team to, uh, to, to, to Jake. You know, and it's like something. Rousseau and Jake. Yeah. And it's like one of these things, you'd have to do the Cobra Kai thing. Because it's 18, it's 1989 is when us, we're, we're going to love it. But how do you get young people to care about that movie?
Starting point is 01:27:55 Right. You got to put young stars in it. And, you know, you can't get him now because he's too big, but you're someone like a Glenn Powell would have been good in the role. And you, the new team, whoever you're buying, doesn't have to be the angels, be cool. I mean, the Indians, or sorry, the nationals now, I guess. Oh, yeah, right, nationals, right, right. Right. So, I mean, there's so much you could do with it in general.
Starting point is 01:28:15 But I don't know. It depends on the team. Yeah. I had Sinister Macau. Saw four movies this weekend. Had three tubs of popcorn. Friday of the 13th, 3D. That's fun.
Starting point is 01:28:26 Bone Lake, good boy. And smashing machine. Smashy machine was me. Love the rest. I think that's fair. Most people are saying that. Yeah. Me, it was all about the performances.
Starting point is 01:28:34 And I was like, I was, they sold it on the Rock's performance. And they delivered on the Rock's performance. Yeah. 100%. So that's, that's why I think I enjoyed it, maybe more than most. Yeah. Because I wasn't expecting. I was, I mean, it definitely didn't catch me like the way the fighter or warrior.
Starting point is 01:28:52 Like I, I, you know what it was about that movie? I wasn't as swelled up with emotion as I should have been. You know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah. What happens at the end? You should be like a hundred percent. Chearing.
Starting point is 01:29:04 But yeah, you know, 100%. Uh, Nathan Drake. Russell Crow. Now from Nuremberg. I hope so. You saw it? Yeah, I did see it. Did you like it?
Starting point is 01:29:14 I did like it. I did like it. Now, I seem to be in the minority here. It's got like a 70% or something on rotten tomatoes or something. I guess that's not the minority, but it's, it's, it's, um, one of you see, take a look and see. I was, I'm going to guess and say it's got like 68% or 70% or, oh, oh, oh, right now. Yeah, on rotten tomatoes. I did like it.
Starting point is 01:29:34 I think that's the same. I'm got to do my, I got to release my out of the theater reaction to the embargo, but like, I think that it, there's a lot of stuff, again, kind of there's a lot of paint by numbers stuff. I like Rami and Malik a lot. I really do. He relies on yelling too much in this movie. Rami is not as good as people think he is. He yells a little bit too much in this movie when he doesn't need to.
Starting point is 01:29:59 And that could be a director's choice. That can be a director's choice. But Russell Crow is menacing in this role. Menacing. What's it at? 60%. 60. on Rotten Tomatoes.
Starting point is 01:30:15 But it's got good reviews from the Hollywood Reporter from Deadline, from the Rap, from The Guardian. No, it's not the Guardian, sorry, Roger Ebert. I enjoyed watching it. I enjoyed watching it. I don't think it's an Oscar movie itself, but I think Crow's performance could be. Supporting actor? Supporting actor. Yes, supporting actor.
Starting point is 01:30:36 Matt Sinister McHale, 13th. I reached out as I was handed a joint in 3D. Nice. That's where you watch that movie. 41 so far. Hey, come on. 41. I had my first tub of popcorn in six months over the weekend.
Starting point is 01:30:51 Or last week, near the end of last week. I couldn't finish. I usually get a large and get halfway through. I could barely go a quarter of... I love that everybody's taking care of themselves now. I was having this whole conversation at my birthday party, where it was the first time I drank and I don't know how long. But my friends are there.
Starting point is 01:31:08 And a lot of my friends are taking care of himself. Obviously, Ming was there. And he was... You see him. He's built. like a brick shit house. And like, and even like Winston starting to get himself in the gym now,
Starting point is 01:31:19 which is a great. He sent me a picture today. He was in the gym and I gave him, I gave him Ming's routine and he was doing, and he started doing it. You've been taking care of yourself. I'm glad, happy to hear it. Kenneth Coulton slept funny and pinched a nerve of my neck.
Starting point is 01:31:31 Oh man. I'm a bad shape as a member request to use Rogues wheelchair. On a side note, Predator Badlands Final Trainer look great. Yeah, I think I'm done watching any trailers for it. I'm just going to go and see it. Yeah, I didn't watch it. Did you watch it?
Starting point is 01:31:42 No, no, I haven't seen. I didn't even know a new trailer dropped. Yeah, it dropped. I'm not going to watch it. You can use my wheelchair. Perfect. And you can, you know, you can use it like they didn't red dragon. I'll push you down the alley.
Starting point is 01:31:55 I don't remember that movie. Enrique, you think Rocky is better than Raging Bull? Do I enjoy it better or do I think it's a better made film? Fair point, yes. Different, different questions. If I'm putting him in my top five, I'm always putting Rocky over raging Bull. if I'm analyzing film then I'm putting Raging Bull.
Starting point is 01:32:15 Yeah. But yes, way more way more I love the Rocky series. That's Corsezi doc dropped by the way on the Apple. I was good. I haven't watched it yet. I know.
Starting point is 01:32:27 It just dropped over the weekend, I think. All right, let's see. 43 as we get to the next question so far. All right, we can't hit 100. Let's do 50 at least. Come on, guys. Let's see if we can do that. Where's Derek Johnson when I need him?
Starting point is 01:32:40 He's been MIA, good old Derek. Enrique, where is Sam's interstellar reaction? Well, there you go. Can't believe I had to see Insomnia and Interstellar's schedule. That's hilarious. So, yeah, like I said, we were supposed to record it last Wednesday. She couldn't do it. Then we're supposed to do Friday.
Starting point is 01:32:58 I was out. She was out. And then we're supposed to do, then this week my schedules all, like literally my schedule today is once this is over, Ming's coming in. We're doing Tron. Then I hop on a train and I go see. Tron Aries. Tomorrow we're releasing Tron with Mink.
Starting point is 01:33:17 Then tomorrow night I see Roofman. I'm trying to do a reaction. I'm going to do the demon slayer reactions with Winston tomorrow, release them on the weekend. And then Wednesday, we have the interview in the city. I'm going, I'll be in the city all day. So I won't be doing anything on the channel and shooting anything. Thursday, I got to take a day off of the family.
Starting point is 01:33:38 And then Friday, I'm probably trying to shoot Interstellar. with Sam on Friday. So that's what we're trying to do. It's just been the schedule. The last two weeks, I've got to get back on our normal stuff. Can you take me down? I got to use the restaurant real quick.
Starting point is 01:33:49 Go rip one out. All right. All right, Jamo. When are you getting Sam to watch Daredevil? Batman. Batman Marv? Batman Marv. What Batman Marv is.
Starting point is 01:34:03 But when are you getting Sam to watch Daredevil or The Batman? Maybe. So Daredevil will be down the line. When I don't know. No, but down the line. Right now we have so much coming up for her. She's going to be very busy for quite a while. Okay. Again, 46. You don't be hilarious if John comes back. We've already gotten a ton of questions. Casey Grant, loving the show also came out a few months ago, but did you guys see the trailer for the rip with Damon and Affleck? Can't remember you mentioning it. I did see that trailer, but I saw it when they did like that Netflix event. Is that when you're talking about Casey? when they did that Netflix event and they debuted it, and I thought it looked interesting. And I guess the same actress who plays Leo's wife and won battles in that. Am I wrong?
Starting point is 01:34:52 I think so. I think so. Enrique, Reiki, coming in hot today. Enrique, the MVP, Rammy Malick is so overrated. He should have lost to Bradley Cooper for Stars Born who actually sang with his own voice. I loved him in that movie, so it's hard for me to say, but I did think Bradley Cooper was really good. I didn't love Stars Born as much as everybody else did.
Starting point is 01:35:10 but I do think so Enrique is saying that Rami Malik, he's agreeing with I agree. You think you should have lost to Bradley Cooper? 100%. I think now, I think his Cooper's performance holds up so much more strongly than Rami Malick still. Do you think it's a more, it's a non-funny
Starting point is 01:35:28 Saturday live performance? No, I don't say, I think it was just timing. Like people were in this place, they saw his performance, and they cheered for him as an underdog and he won. But I think in retrospect, Bradley Luce is the more I like that movie a lot. I really love
Starting point is 01:35:44 that movie, but I understand again, the criticisms. Iron Claw was so much better than Smasherr machine. As a movie, couldn't agree more. That movie, that movie was got screwed. Criminally, criminally underrated. I couldn't agree with you more. Nathan Drake, good point about Panroka. I will rewatch
Starting point is 01:36:00 it. Please do, Nathan. There you go. Unheard Sirens, Incorporated, Remy. K-pop Demon Hunter should definitely win best animated and nom for best. song Golden. It'll probably lose that category to Wicked, though. The best songs, yeah, that's going to be
Starting point is 01:36:15 you're right, though. I think there's going to be a lot of music that will be nominated from that because of the phenomenon that it was. Now, the other question is, and I can't, I don't know how much I can talk about it yet, but I saw another Netflix animated movie called, I should say, I think it's called In Your Dreams, right? Okay. Let me double check. I'm going to make sure. Can I say something to read? It's original music, original songs.
Starting point is 01:36:40 songs, Remy. So it is... All right. They can use the wicked songs from the stage musical and nominate them again. It has to be original music. So there might be original songs, but they might not be as good as the K-pop. I think it's more in contention than you think. Yeah, it would be interesting to see how that... Yeah, you're right.
Starting point is 01:36:56 That's a good point. Yeah, in your dreams is another Netflix animated movie that I think is really, really good. Okay. But it's interesting to see if they're going to be competing against each other. I'd actually love to see it because I think Netflix animation is going to start to overpower Pixar if they keep making these movies like this. Well, they already said that like anime is like 50 to 60 percent of their views.
Starting point is 01:37:24 Yeah, wow. So that tells you there's like interest in stuff for sure. Totally. Murteranta thoughts on Nielsen changing ratings method ended hurting wrestling. NXT and AEW lost about 200K viewers last week compared to recent peaks. I don't know about this. Do you know about this? No, I don't.
Starting point is 01:37:41 Yeah, I don't know how they changed their method. How does that work? Are they choosing different people? I don't know. I don't know how it works. I'm not sure. Yeah. Yeah, let me know, Maritonata, how that works.
Starting point is 01:37:58 Russell, where does the rock go from here? Passing project, the Lord of Reflexes acting shots, but fell flat. He's no longer being box office Viagra, huh? Well, Russell, here's the thing. I think we got to wait until we get to these nominations because if he's nominated for the role because he's still getting, and that's why I made the comparison to Julia,
Starting point is 01:38:18 is that the two of them both, the movies themselves, people are going, that's fine. And I think a Smash Machine is a better rating on Rotten Tomatoes than after the hunt does. But everyone is saying the same thing. She's phenomenal.
Starting point is 01:38:31 She's great. She carries the movie. He's phenomenal. He's great best performance ever. I think those will carry over. And I think that if he's nominated, you know, he will start to do more stuff like this. The problem is this, though, and this is what we talked about in general. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:38:49 This movie, the smashing machine, is very much in the alley of the rock. Yes. It's an MMA movie. And it's not wrestling per se, but it's an athletic movie to where it's a fighting, it's a combat sports movie. And he fits in that world. Yeah. The question now starts to go because he's going to be in a Scorsese movie soon, right?
Starting point is 01:39:11 Yeah. Possibly. Possibly. He needs to start doing those movies. He needs to do what Batista did. He needs to get in line with an interatou. He needs to get in line with Denise. He needs to get in line with like those types of filmmakers.
Starting point is 01:39:29 He needs to try to do that and lower your rate and start doing these performances that people aren't expecting. I was expecting him to play an MMA fighter. Give me someone I'm not, I'm not supposed to expect. Do what Batista did in that freaking Shamelon movie. Yeah, yeah. But I think if you watch The Rock, and I've watched every,
Starting point is 01:39:51 just about every movie he's ever done, he always has these moments to show actual emotion and authenticity. Jumanji, he has some really interesting, there's some really human moments. I think in central intelligence, when he's playing a former fat kid who becomes the thing that he becomes,
Starting point is 01:40:08 when you see him remembering what it was like experiencing, what he experienced as a guy who's always battled with his weight, there was so much about his emotions in a few of those scenes where he got a little serious that it was believable. So he's got that gear within him really well. It's like you said, he's got to find the right projects. His teams have to find the right projects
Starting point is 01:40:28 that showcase what he can do dramatically. And he's got to be willing to take the hits because you've got to make the audience. you know, running YouTube channel, just Christmas, I'm going to train the audience when you're changing the point of view that you're going with your channel to go to this stuff and see if it works. So he's got to be willing to stick with it if he really wants to make a commitment to it, you know. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:40:50 Okay. Page, what's up, page? A member for 11 months. Hey. Hey, gentlemen, when can we get an Ozzie biopic and who would you all cast? The who you cast, I don't know. It'll probably be a Brit actor that I don't know, someone that can really crush it, you know.
Starting point is 01:41:05 and improve themselves through doing something like that. We should probably get one. Hopefully they do it right and they do like a bigger, you know, Oscar type one than like just a throwaway one you point on streaming. But I think we'll get one in the next five years. Yeah, I mean, the project was first announced in 2021 that they were going to do aio-pick or Ozzie.
Starting point is 01:41:31 Yeah, and it's with Sony pictures and Poly. Graham, Sharon, Jack, and Amy are producers on the film. And it's supposed to cover the years between 79 and 99, so 20 years. But as recently as August of this year, they were saying it's still very much in motion and that there are negotiations with a director. But I think they're dealing with the death of Ozzy. Sure. Yeah, they have to make it part of the movie now. Yeah, sure.
Starting point is 01:42:01 Legend of 600, you guys watching the playoffs painfully. Mariners better win. Well, I don't care about that. Seattle. But I'll tell you, you know, it's the same thing for me. I'm a, I'm a very, very childish baseball fan. I will watch the Yankees,
Starting point is 01:42:20 and then if they lose, I won't, I won't watch anything. Like, I don't, it's like, I'm not, I'm not supporting. There's no, there's no teams in there that I'll support. Well, you've got to go to Winston route where whoever's winning. You come there. you go to their ticket to you go to Seattle. I'll go to I'll go to Seattle. I'll be at the parade going, I've always been a Mariners
Starting point is 01:42:40 fan. I've been a Brewers fan since for years. Milwaukee's my town, man. It was when he went to the parade. I'm like, what are you doing? I'm going to the parade. When you're just talking about how the Rangers won the World Series last year? You're going to the parade for the Dodgers because you live there? Get out of here. Listen, don't get me wrong.
Starting point is 01:42:56 I became a Dodgers fan living in L.A. as is like my third or fourth, you know, favorite team. And I totally get it. Because, you know, the Dodgers can be. And I came in with like Russell Martin and Matt Kemp. Like that was a great team. That was so much fun to watch that team. The beginning is of Clayton Kershaw.
Starting point is 01:43:10 I totally get. It was fun. It was baseball. I was enjoyable. But I was always a Yankees fan, first and foremost. And I wouldn't have been caught dead at a Dodgers parade for them winning. No.
Starting point is 01:43:21 No way. Enrique, have a great day, y' all. Thank you. I hope you enjoy my non-common book Star Wars questions. I loved it. Loved them.
Starting point is 01:43:28 All day long. Fire them in there. Send in all your stuff. It doesn't have to be about everything. nerdy stuff now go pal michael rapaport 05 sitcom with ramy as the neighbor oh really um yeah i mean i i i do get a kick at a rap report really i've and plus you know i met i met him handful of times he's a nut excuse me he's exactly who you think he is yeah the effing nut yeah um entertaining though certainly entertain definitely page are you christian are you going to drop the
Starting point is 01:43:59 kickstar yeah so that was another thing that was supposed to happen today oh was that At 2 o'clock, I was supposed to get on a phone call with the director, the producer, Martini. And then, unfortunately, one of the other team members got ill. So we had to reschedule the call. So once we schedule the call and once we get everything set, that's when the plan is. Then I'll have news for you guys and when we can release the Kickstarter. 55 so far as we approach the end for now. But tribal chief.
Starting point is 01:44:32 what do you guys think about any musciati's recent comments about his brave and the bold involvement what is it now is he's got new comments he keeps saying he's still attached oh now he is okay yeah that's my that's my response there's no way right no no no no if you so if you were going to Vegas and you had to put money on the fact that he he was going to not be doing it yeah how much money would you put down i'll tell you this uh six months ago i'd have put my entire life savings in there. With the way James has changed his mind
Starting point is 01:45:08 and changed stuff around and been mealy-mouthed at times about the things that he's doing, I would bet less right now. You say it's possible. I say it's possible because James changes his mind all the time. It can be a little stubborn.
Starting point is 01:45:22 So maybe as an FU, he'll go with it. But I think he's not involved in it. And the fact that they're not even consulting him on the script, that's that bunch of volumes. Any producer worth their solid. tell you that they're not interested in that director fully if they're not involved in the script which is something this big that made why wouldn't you want to drink you're not yeah he's not
Starting point is 01:45:41 yeah he's not the one that's been asking being asked the questions about it it's right it's james yeah think is magnallie one thing i would say is what is the oscar worthy scene for the rock in the smash machine all he does is cry and yell in the movie to me i don't know i don't know about i think the the the oscar worthy scene for me i think even even i'll tell you what it is not when he's in he kicks the habit and he's in the backyard working on the stuff and dawn is asking him to do and he's and he's clearly battling this but he's being such a dick yeah um inside of it like that is someone who is struggling with the fact of being sober and doing all the stuff and he does it masterfully in that scene so i would i would take that scene among among many yeah when he is like i need to get
Starting point is 01:46:27 out of this yeah this is it's so powerful that oh yeah that's that end scene with them too The end of them is the ostracy. That's the ostrac. And if you think that's all yelling and crying, you have no idea what you're talking. Yeah. Yeah, I agree. I disagree with you,
Starting point is 01:46:42 Denghis. John Burkart, sorry I'm late to the show. John, did you pick up Ghost of your tie? Yes, I have been playing it all weekend. I have to live in myself, though,
Starting point is 01:46:52 because that game is so addictive now for me. Just like, I was on my third path of Tsushima when that game came out. And so I got to be careful because I could take, I could really play that game for 12 hours a day. And I have to be careful not to do that.
Starting point is 01:47:05 So I'm limiting myself to two or three hours of the gameplay and then doing other things. So yeah. But I haven't felt it's amazing. Those games. Kenneth Colton, any thoughts on the Rite Comedy Festival backlash? Yes. Go ahead, John. What do you got?
Starting point is 01:47:18 I think it's, I think it's absolutely. I think these people were utterly ridiculous and their reasonings are ridiculous. I get getting paid. But this idea that, oh, like the, I saw the, was one of the lesbian comics who was there. She's like, oh, I thought it was breaking new ground. My apologies. Now I'm going to dedicate my salary to a charity. Show me the receipt.
Starting point is 01:47:38 Because you can say all that, but until I see the receipt, I don't believe you. And so, listen, you've got every right to make your money. Do what do you want to do. But I also think these people calling them out, especially when some of these people, like Andrew Schultz, have been all about no censorship and no censorship. And then they go and get completely censored and agree to be censored at this Riyadh comedy. festival it makes their stances utter bullshit so for me i thought it was a shame and i'm glad a number of people and comedians like even shane gillis called them yeah and mark maryne and other you knew
Starting point is 01:48:13 mark brian was going to call them out but jing gillis and other people who were lean right at times them i thought was great and the pete davidson thing was absolutely valid your father died on nine eleven why are you going to saudi arabia to do a comedy festival it makes no sense so yeah i know i know a little bit about it. I think, I mean, but I can't remember when I was sitting there, I think, it was one of my wife. I said, would you, would you have done? And I said, probably not. Probably not. I think 92% of me says no, because you put yourself in that eight, what's the 8%? I don't know where these people are financially and what, I mean, some of them I know. Oh, like, you know, like there's, a lot of them, a lot of them might not need to do it at all.
Starting point is 01:48:57 when it's purely greed, right? When the amount of the, like Kevin, why is Kevin Hart there? Let's say that because these money, these people have more money than anybody else we owe. And it's like, so, okay, when you should be paying, let's say, okay, someone normally makes $100,000
Starting point is 01:49:15 to do a show, let's say, that person, they're probably making 1.1 or something to do this comedy festival. So when you see that number, the first thing is, oh, but it's like, And they're also paying because you're also dealing with the controversy. They're also paying you for that. They're paying you to deal with the controversy.
Starting point is 01:49:34 Yeah, I see Prince is positive going. Did all of Saudi Arabia hijacked them? No, Princess Positive, but the entire government of Saudi Arabia was involved in the decapitation and murder of a journalist. They've been involved in a lot of nefarious stuff, the way they treat their people in Saudi Arabia, removing human rights. By performing for a government that is paying you, you are tasked. endorsing that government.
Starting point is 01:49:59 So, you know, that's the point of it all. I don't know enough about it to speak too much more on it. You're making a lot of money. Chris, $600,000 to $1.6 million. They were being offered. That's what I'm saying. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:50:10 Wiley Todd, would love to know Rocus thoughts in the best movie of all time, the color of money. Do you hate that movie? No, it's a fine movie. It's just not, it's one of Wiley's favorite. It's nothing. It's not a great movie. I haven't seen it in a very long time.
Starting point is 01:50:23 I just remember, I just hair. That is your kind of move. Yeah, I know. Yeah. Joe for show, Cammy, you're talking about me. Thank you, Joe for show. Miss you, buddy.
Starting point is 01:50:30 Page just gave five memberships away. Thank you, Paige. That's very nice. Very nice. Joe for show, outside of Avatar, you guys think there, any block, other blockbusters this year at the box office?
Starting point is 01:50:41 Wicked too. Yeah, wicked for sure. Yeah, wicked too. That might be the last two. That's it. I think so. I mean, look, I'll, I don't think.
Starting point is 01:50:50 I don't think Hardeter will be a blockbuster. No, no. It could do good for consideration. considering how much, it probably didn't cost that much, but let's see. Right. I'll bring up the movies that are coming out. Oh, oh, oh, oh, Inside Out, too. Oh, yeah, maybe.
Starting point is 01:51:06 That's a blockbuster, for sure. Oh, this year, right. Yeah, this year. And Lilo and Stitch made it a billion. Well, no, but that was this. He's saying coming up. Any more coming up. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:51:15 So starting in November. Head out, too. That already came out. Which one are you talking? Did I say Inside Out 2? Yeah, you said Inside Out 2. I meant Zutopia. Oh, Zootopia.
Starting point is 01:51:26 Yes. So November 7th, nothing there too big. November 14th, running man, nah. Now you see me, now you don't. Nah. I mean, there might be hits, but it hits, hits, not blockbusters. Zootopia 2, November 26. That will be a blockbuster.
Starting point is 01:51:42 Five nights at Freddy's too has a chance. No. The first movie made a lot of money. But I probably say no on that, but it's got a chance. and then Avatar. That's that's Blockbuster known. Yeah. Yeah, let me see.
Starting point is 01:51:59 Five nights at Freddy's. The original. It made 297. Oh, did it? Okay. On a $20 million budget. That's a lot. That's a lot.
Starting point is 01:52:11 I mean, it's successful. Right. But not. Yeah, what is your definition of Blockbuster? Because you could argue on a $20 million film, making $300 million. That's a lot of money. That's a lot of money.
Starting point is 01:52:23 That's true. It's Blockbuster money-wise. I guess it depends on your definition. Like huge profit. Yes. That will make huge profit again, for sure. Okay. So that's it for now.
Starting point is 01:52:37 62. I think it's a pretty good day. All right. 62. For all of those people who have been joining us here today live, thank you for doing. So remember, oh, is that new? You guys watch, thanks Jay Anderson. Do you guys watch Dark Wolf?
Starting point is 01:52:52 I love that series. I didn't. That's the one with, that's the, that follow up one to, it was Taylor Kitch, right? It's a follow up one to the Chris Pratt series. I don't know. That's the, Mike, oh, terminal list. I think so. I think so.
Starting point is 01:53:06 Oh, I've not seen that. Yeah, no, no, no. All right, let's see, Joe for show. In any world does, does Avatar 3 not make two billion? Yeah, there's a world that doesn't make two billion. I think the question is, there's any world that doesn't make one billion? No. There's a world that it doesn't make two billion.
Starting point is 01:53:26 Sure. Sure. Yeah. You know, people seem to be kind of rejecting blockbuster stuff to a little bit of a degree. So we will see how. I mean, you know,
Starting point is 01:53:36 you don't never doubt Cameron, but we'll see. Right. You can't. I know Roker's answer to this. Nathan Drake, was Leo better in one battle or flower moon? Leo was so much better in one battle after another.
Starting point is 01:53:47 It makes him even worse in flowers of the, what is it, flowers of the silver moon? Killer moon. Killers of Fireman. So I like that movie way more than John does, but I agree that Leo has a much better performance than this. I like,
Starting point is 01:54:01 I mean, his character's despicable in that other movie. Right. Suspicable. He's kind of, he's got like a dude-esque charm to him in this one. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:54:11 You know? He's really, yeah. I mean, it's a deceptively great performance. People aren't, people, I know,
Starting point is 01:54:17 Sean is the showyer performance. Yeah. But as an actor, watching another actor, the thing he's doing in between, the Lions is amazing. Just amazing. Yeah, he's great. Okay, well, there you go. 64. Thank you guys so much. Make sure you go check out. John, John, now is it just the John Roker channel or is it or is it? Okay.
