Hello, everybody. Welcome back to the show. The big thing. It's Thursday. And we're going to be doing, we're back. The whole crew is back. Well, myself and Roxy and Brett. And a lot to talk about. The boys, I'm two seasons caught up with. Excited about where three is going to go. Finally gets to talk to Roxy at least about two of those seasons. caught up on Stranger Things Volume 1. We'll talk about how part two, it's right around the corner what we think. Who's going to eat it? That's the big guess here on this show.

Some of the big movies coming out for 2023, they were just looking at. March is stacked in the big change in movie theaters overall. So, you know, I was, I had a busy week. Did that shot? Yeah, I had to see three movies last week. So it's pretty big. But I saw a black phone. Elvis was the one right during the time. I didn't see it. It was good.

I really liked it a lot. Yeah. In my movie. I didn't see your movie if you didn't screen it. You didn't screen it yet. No, we did. Not here. You didn't screen it at the room.

It was in Marina Del right. I didn't get a chance. You're going to charge me tickets. Yeah. That's true. Oh, that's what it was. Not for me, for him. I was out of town.

That's what he was. It was like, well, you can make me pay for it? No, that wasn't. That's, I'm kidding. But I had to go see Elvis. And, but at the time, I was checking in seeing. And it looked like it went really, really well. It did.

Yeah. Tell me about it. It went really well. So I think that, like, I, I am hedging expectations for the point. Sometime in the future, people are going to be able to see this for sure. And I'm reminding everybody, it is a low budget indie movie. So I'm talking about that. For what they were able to do with that, it was incredible.

Yeah, so like the end credits look good. It looks very like Ms. Marvel Scott Pilgrim type thing. Yeah, I'm just so impressed by what they were able to do. And like watching it on the big screen and feeling like, holy shit, this is a real movie. Like, they made a real movie. That's awesome. And I'm in it. And we got a standing ovation afterwards.

Oh, I love that. It was so cool. How many people in the audience? It was 140 person theater, but we filled it and then people in the rafters and the staircases. It felt like it felt like 400. Yeah. I love that. Like everybody was screaming.

laughing, like the energy was amazing. Your PIC was there, Ellis. Yeah, hey, no, I saw he had, I saw some of his posts. Were Maria and Kevin there? No, they weren't there. I don't think that they're in town right now. But they,

I think saw it previously, maybe. I loved seeing her in the boys. Yeah, hilarious. When she popped onto that, I was like, oh yeah, I forgot she did this. And they mentioned, but they mentioned her also, too. It's like, in like a pre, in a follow-up scene, is it shot?

What the hell is the, girl's name shockwave or whatever that i can't remember her name starlight not starlight no starlight so the one the the nazi yes the main villain in the yeah i forget it too the shocker yeah right have you have you know that's one i've got it but that one's i don't have to sneak right because it's filth it there's a lot of filth in it but i think i did did lani watch peacemaker with you yes then she'll like this yeah yeah yeah then she loved this because this how quickly when you do that do they see it they see it they see it they see it they see the real time i'm doing wow Damn, you're getting good at this, Christian.

Well, I'm just almost like second nature of this. Your black lines are not even, but other than that, it's true. I was going to say something that I didn't want. Wow, really good. Oh, thank you. Yeah, because then I'll do one of these things in the middle of we'll just be talking naturally.

Look at each other guys. Yeah, and it's like everybody's talking. Right. Very cool. Yeah. Oh, man, look at the white on that leg, boy. It's really good. But thank you.

But, yeah, I was watching. that show and people had said how it's got this peacemaker feel to it and the first season I'm like I kind of see how they could make the comparison

and by season two I'm like okay I definitely see the comparison for sure it's really really good it's I will tell you that out of the three shows that I watched pretty religiously I mean I watched more than three

but the three that really stand out between stranger things Obi-Wi-Wan well I guess Boba-Fet and this and the boys I got to put this at number one. Yeah, it's the best.

Yeah, and I'm, and then maybe not be, maybe it's not fair. It's residency bias and stuff. Because I watched season and I even watched the new season that aired this year, which is season three. I think it's best season yet. It's three? Yeah. It's so good.

Oh, this season is like what the actual F is. Really? Oh my God, Chris. Okay, I'm excited to see it. The most recent episode, the first episode, yeah. One of the gnarliest things I've ever seen on TV. The first one is?

first episode of season three of season three and then the most recent episode uh which is called hero galzum i heard that's just one of the most bizarre it is when you're watching it you're like what is like this is an acid trip that like also is making me feel something i don't even know what's going on it is gnarly nasty yeah i want brett to watch it because i think yeah three c that's not too bad i some of these ones like what was that i tried to watch oh i for some reason my wife was out of town so i'm like i'm gonna just watch them so i tried people Kiki Blinders again, and I couldn't get through the first two episodes. I don't know.

You'll love this show. This is quick. You love the Suissehud Squad, and you love, this is, it's in the same vein. I actually think this is even, and I love Peacemaker, but I think this show is, is much better than Peacemaker. I agree. And Peacemaker's awesome. I love Peacemaker.

This show is, when you're watching it, you can't believe it exists. Because the thing is with Peacemaker, what I like about it is, like, it's a pure comedy. It, it, there are some dramatic moments, for sure. But for the most part, it's, it's going for the, the joke all the time and the and the joke is there for the boys but there's something about it and it's such a commentary on like today like society and politics and religion but in a way that it's through a superhero lens and and yeah it's it's it's a really it's it's a really great show and and what's his face uh homelander is just out of i mean i know i'm singing like an old i feel like

it's the same thing that happened me when when everybody was watching breaking bad and i watched it after like everybody had watched it i'm like all right and i've been just like five seats You just want to talk about it and everybody's already been there done that. Everybody's been there right now. Everybody said the same thing that you said. I can't wait for you to catch up to three. Yeah. And that's what I'm, that's what I'm going to do is I got to put a review out for a season two, which I probably at this point have done already.

The first episode, when you watch the first episode of season three, you are going to gag. I mean, it is what they do is like, what? It's pretty graphic. Yeah. Yeah. But I love, I love what I see. It's for Carl, it's Carl Urban best he's ever been. Yeah.

I like Carl Urban. But this is the best he's ever been, hands down. What else? Isn't that dude somebody's kid too? Huey? Yeah, that's Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaitz. Yeah. Are they half hour episodes?

Jack Quaid, yeah. They're about an hour. Everything's an hour now. This needs to be an hour. Except for Obi-1. Oh, we want. It should be longer. It was the oldest you've ever said.

Oh, I know. But it's just like. Everything is an hour. I'm trying to watch. I'm trying to get Blake into Umbrella Academy. How is it? I've been through three. Okay.

Of the first season. I've already seen the first two. You have. You really like it a lot. So that's what you need to talk about because I don't know. I watched the first season of that is not. It doesn't touch the boys with a 10 foot pole. Oh, yeah.

No, it's good. It was good. Different. Yeah. Do you watch this Outlander show? No, everybody talks about that too. It's the only thing.

So my wife is, I don't watch it. It's sexy. It's supposed to be so sexy. Be happy. She watches it. Oh, yeah? Because, I mean, no, if she's into Outlander. Oh, yeah.

This was Lonnie's like, you know, this was. Before Vikings, Outlander was the setup. You got to remember that I still have a four-year-old. Oh. So that takes any bit of desperate. Lock them in their room? No, no, not that. She's sleeping.

But you got to realize that it's, it's her superpower, if you look, but the boys is the energy son. So like the whole day, I don't care how revved up my wife gets from Outlander. She's sleeping. She's gone. Yeah. She's wrapped up in her dreams. Yeah, but I will tell you, though, that it's the, and as you guys have heard me, talk many times over.

It's hard to get her, A, to lock into a show. But even when we do lock in a show, every once, we'll watch a couple episodes of something. And she's like, let's watch something else. She's not like into the binging.

She like disappears off into the room now to watch it. And didn't the show like debut in like 2020 or something? Oh yeah. It's got five seasons at like 14 episodes apiece. Probably started before that. That's what I thought. And we had to buy, we had to, you know,

stream BBC because to get it early. No, that's what it is. Wait a minute. So that makes more sense. Because on Netflix, it says 20, 20, what it was is they probably, that's probably when they bought it. Yeah. They probably bought it from BBC or whatever, put it on there and then kept on developing.

That's what I would guess. But she watches it every night. And that also gives me an excuse to then keep, because she's not, the boys is not for her. Like, I watched episode one of the boys with her a while ago. And she didn't mind it, but we never continued it. And then between all of my friends, all the fans, people are telling me, You got to watch, just got to watch it. And I liked the first episode, like, eventually I get into it.

And I told you, a friend of mine produced it. Yeah, that's crazy. And, like, I remember we were at Collier Live. We were on Clare Live. That show on the YouTube? No, Clare Live. Oh, okay. And a show on the YouTube.

It was a show that was on YouTube. But either way, we were, that was during that time. And I had dinner with her. And we were talking, and she's like, you got to watch my show when it comes out. I have this new show coming out called The Boy. She's like, it's like, It's outrageous. You'll love it.

And this is three years ago, and I'm finally watching it now. And after everybody was telling me about it, and I think she was going to get me guests to put on the show and everything, too. And I, I don't, I haven't watched it yet. Stupid me. It's a brilliant, it's a brilliant show. Yeah, it's really good. You got to get on it in the same way that you have to get on Severance.

That one I'll get into it. Yeah, that'll probably be the other one. But the other one I want to watch before that is Succession. That's so good. I know. It's another one I've never, I've never seen that one either. As good. Honestly, those are like two of the best shows.

I know. But did you watch Outlander or no? No. Okay. No. Give it a boyfriend. Yeah. I need to find a partner.

I don't think so. I think it's a good. I mean, it's a, it's a, it's a sexy show. Yeah. I went on a date gone wrong last night. Oh, what? Tell me. Come on, you brought it up.

I'm sorry. You wanted to talk about it. Yeah. I wanted to be a good date. That's why I brought it up. Yeah. Do you know me yet? I do.

Yeah. No, I can't tell you guys. I'm too shy. I'm talking about Brett, by the way. God, and no, this is the worst show. Her audio listeners going, did Christian just talk about Roxy's legs? Oh, this is going to show if my back starts sweating,

it shows my bald spot. I've never worn shorts on this show. Today's the day I decided to wear shorts. Look at this. I want to offer to switch with you, but I won't. I actually think you look very defined. Yeah, you look like a brick shithouse. Look at you.

This is, I just got to keep distracted. You look good. You're going to burst right through that table. You don't do any. workouts in your legs? Um, no. No, no, I do have good legs, but that's just from manual labor and stuff. But no, this is, uh, yeah, let's not get, let's talk about your horrible. Yes, please. I wish it was a good story, but also, I love to hear the bad. What happened. Yeah, the bad ones, where we give our advice. It was definitely good at first. Like, we went, it was about a five hour date.

Five hour day. Where'd you go? We went first, we went to dinner. I don't even, okay, first we went to dinner. Who hangs up for five hours? I honestly think that I have longer dates than most people. You guys know me? I can ask somebody questions until I love talking to people knowing their story. And he was really interesting. And it was going okay. It was actually going really well.

And then after dinner, the restaurant closed. Yeah. And we went to a bar to go get a drink. And that was great too. And then we went to another bar because that bar closed to go get another drink. And he was super fucking cute, really cool. Actor? No.

Okay. No. No. I actually still, after talking to him about it. for an hour, don't understand what he does. Oh, is like Chandler? Yeah, so something about goes to startups to teach some sales for something. It was a whole thing.

I tried to listen. Oh, it was. I just don't understand anything that is an entertainment. And so as he was talking about, it was something with crypto, and I was like, I do not understand what you are saying. So Mark Fernandez? Yeah, it was Mark Fernandez. I buried the lead here.

I went to Florida. Is that we're in the Keys? Yeah, I'm in the Keys for sure. Crushing in the Keys. That's why I've got this nice little glit. going on. So it was going well. And then he asked me, he was like, do you want to come back to

where I'm staying and have a drink? And I said, yeah. And then And then. So it was going good up until that point. Yeah, it was going good. And then he had said a couple things throughout the dinner that made me know. You want to come in and snake the toilet? Yeah. What? Nope. So then I got a couple things.

No. That made me know, like, I still don't know this person and, you know, who knows? So then we, I, I, I get in the Uber and I was like actually, you know what? I have work in the morning and I'm going to, like, his energy was kind of weird. Did he pitch a fit? He kind of.

Like, so I was like, I'm actually going to go home. And he like was very annoyed. And as an adult, I'm just like straight up allowed to change my mind. And so he just got like really distant and like sulky. And it was just super unattractive in that moment. And so I drop him off. How old is this guy? 33.

Ah, come on. Yeah. So I drop him off. off in the Uber and then I get home. I'm feeling icky about it. So I called him and I was like, hey, just checking in because that was a really weird end to the night. And he was like, well, of course you didn't want to come because you're so drunk, you're

slurring. And have you ever seen me slur ever? It's just like not my Emma. That's not a thing to say to you. But I also was not. Like, I know myself. I had had four drinks over the course of five hours. I am very not.

slurring and I said I'm I don't know how to fight somebody on the fact that I'm not slurring I'm not however I didn't want to come because I just changed my mind and I didn't want to come in that's what happened and he was like no I think it's because of the drinking and I was like I actually don't like this conversation anymore so I'm going to get off the phone and I got off the phone feeling legit sober as a bird yeah right it's just like mean these people it bizarre that one was strange And so I was like, huh. And then the next morning, he did, he messaged me. And he was like, I feel like shit about last night.

And I was like, okay. And he was like, I'd love to continue to get to know you. And I'm just kind of like the start to a relationship seems like it matters. And it seems like I just keep having these really fucking weird first dates. And trust your gut. Yeah. Yeah. And my gut said, you don't know him well.

And you don't really, like I knew I wasn't going to have sex with him. So don't go inside. Yeah. I just didn't feel like it on the first day. And he went home. And he should respect that. Yeah. And it felt like.

he did but he was like annoyed you know like and I get it you you maybe thought something was going to happen that didn't so be annoyed at home but suck it up yeah be annoyed to call your friend and say dude dude I thought she was going to come over yeah exactly got me so worked up exactly like don't be annoyed to me and then don't say it's because I'm and you had way more to drink than I did right but imagine imagine I listen listen what happened so I she's coming over and I'm telling that she's going to come over and it looks like she's about to come by and she says she's not feeling good So listen to what I did I started to pout

I pouted in the car Oh dude right I fucking pouted You remember when I pouted back in 08 I pouted again I pouted in the car I pounded with her and Did you accuse her being drunk

Slurring I called her and I said I think you were slurring And then but but just to throw a little sprinkling the next day I called her in the morning And I said I want to see you again You know I insults you last night

And I pouted a lot Yeah I let it go I let it go. I'm good. I'm the best, right? That's why you're the king. I'm the best.

Exactly. And just like 1,000% and has a message out there to all single people who are dating. It's just so unattractive. Don't pout. Then you pat out. On night one.

A night one. If he had just been, if I was like, actually, I'm going to go home. I work in the morning. If he had been like, oh, no worries. Then I 1,000% would be seeing him again.

Or if he even said something like, you know, like maybe charmingly like, you sure? Yeah. And then you're like, yeah, I'm going to go. I get it. What about year 20?

Is that a right time to help? Right? Exactly. Take the trash out. Yeah. Just such a bummer because it was a fun night. And then I was just like, when you get the ick for somebody, it's really hard to un-Ix. So this, I don't get it.

Where I'm staying. So he's not local is what you're saying? Yeah, yeah. He's not local. That's a tough one already. Yeah. Yeah. I hear a lot for work.

Four weeks would be a long time. I don't think I'd make it. So this is a. fun one coming up that I have. This, I was one of my closest friends who works in the industry out here. He is from England. And him and I go and get drinks like usually one. Oh, he's here.

I didn't realize you brought up with you. Hello. How are you doing, buddy? I'm all right. How are you? I'm doing good. I'm from England. He said, I've got to tell you a story.

All right, what's the story? And his name is Paddington. Did you hear the story about when the men was pouting with rocks? He thought he was going to go get some booty. And she said no, maybe, but no. He called her in the morning. And then he accused of being drunk, which would normally be when a woman would come upstairs.

So that's kind of a weird thing. Very weird. Thank you, Yoko. Get off me. Why are you? Apparently nobody was. That's why he went home. Yeah, that's true.

That's true. So this guy that is a good friend of mine, British, he told me, we go out to drinks every week, and we're out to drinks, and he was like, the same thing as you guys, who the fuck are these dudes that you're finding? Like, where are you finding them in the bottom of the barrel? Like, we got to get you somebody who's just normal, just like a dude that's normal.

Yeah, stop this. So he was like, I think I have to. somebody to set you up with. And he's great. He is just like a normal guy and great. And I was like, all right, maybe. But then I moved on to some other conversation. And he said his name and I registered it.

And then I was just like, I'll bring this up later on. Then I, the next week, I'm getting my hair done by my hairdresser, who's from here, an hour away, she's doing my hair and she's talking to me about these stories. And she's like, who the fuck are these guys? I think I have somebody I want to set you up with. And I was like, yeah, who is it? Same dude. Wow.

Wait, from last, the, wait. Oh, the same one that the English guy was. Oh, wow. That's a good sign. So I said, what the fuck? Like, did they call each other? No, they don't know each other. Oh.

No, this guy's from England. This girl's from L.A. In our way, as a hairdresser, he's in his head. He just knows everybody? She went to high school with this dude, and he knows him. He produced one of his movies. So, wait a minute. So wait, you produced one of his movies.

What does that mean? He's an actor? He's a producer? He's a producer. He produced. One of the director's a director. Copy that. So he produced one of the directors' movies.

And so I was like, that's so fucking weird. That is weird. You both in the same week tried to set me up with this guy. And so I didn't say anything. I was just like, that's interesting. And then I'm sitting and doing a podcast. Hello. I think they got Taylor Papua.

And I meet this guy. The fact that I'm going to start laughing immediately is so bad for him. Welcome to my cottage. Cotty. Will you stay for one more night? If not, I'm going to bow. Weird. Come over.

He's not even a good. This guy is from L.A. Oh, okay. Oh, hey, Roxy. I'm from L.A., man. She was for a family. Yeah, I know for sure. So that's a good sign.

Two people want to set up with this. Here's what happens. Here's what happens. I'm filming a podcast. for Bitsch Out of Water, and the whole episode, Dee is talking about how to stay married. Like, and we never talk about that because, you know, she's Polly. So we're always talking about, like, how to manage being with multiple people. And she did a whole episode on her marriage. And in the middle of the marriage podcast, he texted me.

Well, the podcast on marriage. Yeah, the new guy. And he was like, and I hear things. Yeah. Is what he said. Yeah. I hear things. That's what he said.

And I thought that was weird. So you're going out with that. So I'm going to go out with him. When? I don't know. It's his brother's wedding this week. So he said, he was texting me saying, it's my brother's wedding this week. I'm going to text you next week.

All right. So I root for this guy. Me too. I root for him because I like the story, but I just feel like you guys. Between you and Steph, I don't know if it's right or not. The stories are just terrible. It's crazy. I don't want to tell the story that Steph told me.

Were you? No, you weren't with us in, we were at Star Wars celebration about a date and something somebody said to her on the date. And I was like, what? People actually say that? Yeah. I don't know if she talked about it on your show. I think so. She did.

I don't know, though. But I don't want to bring it up. But it was, gross, it was beyond gross. And it's like, I don't understand how people live.

I just don't understand how you say certain things to people and how, like when you hear all these horror stories about dating and everything, too, and then you hear these, like, oh, those are true stories. Yeah. Yeah. It's incredible.

For sure. Like, and it's out here. It's the dudes out here. I'm, sure there's horror stories everywhere, but I'm sure it's not good. But anyway, well, good luck to you. That's when he gets back.

That, to me, is a therapy session. And it puts you in a good mental state. It really does. Superstar. Some people have an issue with Tom Hanks as Colonel Tom Parker. I don't. I thought he was good. I mean, I went back and listened to some of Tom Parker's interviews. His story. Do you know the story about Parker and Elvis? I might find out in the movie?

Yeah. You don't know it. You don't want to know any of it. I'm so excited. But it's a true story. I don't know it. So it's not true to me. I mean, it's, he kind of, he, he worked Elvis to the bone.

Yeah. But he's, but, but there was more to it. It was some, he helped him a lot, but it was also a lot of shady shit going on. And Hanks plays him with a little bit of an accent, like a, like a foreign accent inside of this mass, um, American accent. But you listen to interviews, you don't hear anything except an American accent. So why do you think he made that choice? because you just say you don't want to know no oh you're gonna tell me why he made the choice of the accent yeah because the guy was from a different

country originally and it was and he was he didn't have and he was basically running from any way he didn't have citizenship other places is this like a Tommy Lizzo voice thing or he's kind of but I mean just can't place it no no no I forget what it was but it was mixed I think where was you from Belgium I don't remember I can't remember in the movie but either way it's it's a really Good story because I didn't know a lot of the things. I mean, obviously it's Elvis.

You think you know everything. I didn't know everything. And people are curious because, you know, you hear that stuff about Elvis and how he took a lot of his movie from black culture and stuff where I didn't know where he grew up, how he grew up. I didn't know that his twin brother died right, right when he was born. I didn't know that his father went to jail. I didn't know that he grew up in like the poorer neighborhoods.

And that's he would go to the churches and he would learn. And they address inside of this movie. like hound dog and his first song came from artists the black artist first yeah they addressed it it's not like he came up with that song on his own it's like no he got it from from these people um these particular artists and um that's interesting that they decided they do but i think that the the argument's always going to be did he acknowledge it in real life the way they did does in the movie because some people there's there's two sides very and even when on my review i see it there's some people who just believe he stole from black culture and that he did any the reason why he didn't get he didn't

give a lot of credit or he would give some credit but he didn't see he didn't give a lot of he didn't give money or anything to and and he was he basically knew we could because they wouldn't play black songs on the radio back then they wouldn't that's why he got in so much trouble for dancing because they were saying he was bringing black culture into American and white households and so people were losing their minds but in in the but But in the conversation that still happens today, because the way that they addressed it in the movie is one side of the conversation that says that there were a lot of these artists like Fats Domino and B.B. King who loved Elvis and would have him. And he actually got in trouble for going around to the black neighborhoods and being there. And they welcome to him because they got them more notice.

And then there's the other side that said, like, no, he was just taking pure advantage. So it's really, it's really, you know, it's a debate that's going to go on, like, forever. But it's just a matter of where you land on it. But I thought they did a good job inside of the movie of addressing it. That's what I was wondering, because my mom watched it today and told me she loved it. And that's the first thing I asked. I was like, we'll do they address that element of it? Because, yeah, from what you hear, it's mostly just, this is what you hear about Elvis.

Yeah, great musician stole from black culture and died on the toilet. Right. Like, that's his legacy is like drug addict died, you know, taking a shit. Yeah. But, you know, like this shows a little bit more of maybe the colonel may have driven some of this. And what are you going to, you know, you start becoming famous and somebody's, did he pick all his songs? It's more. I didn't realize that it's like 2.30 the movie and it doesn't feel that long.

At least to me, it didn't feel that long. In the movie, do you like him? Elvis? Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. They make him a likable. He's definitely the protagonist of the story. You feel bad for him.

You feel bad for him because he was. kind of like a caged animal. He was locked into this deal in Vegas. He wanted to go on tour to Europe. He wanted to go after he set the stuff up, but Parker put him in this deal in Vegas to put him there for like

five years. And it was to like pay off Parker's like gambling debts and stuff. And he lived in like anything he even says it. He calls it like a golden cage you know because he's like it's crazy. And it wasn't like his drug use it was kind of like

you know, pushed upon him to keep him. I think so, yeah, it was pills. Yeah, yeah. And they even have a scene with like Priscilla where she's just like, come on, man. Enough isn't like this is, what are you doing? But you got somebody that's touring like that and you want to,

hey, maybe have a little bit of, but they show, I mean, there's a lot, they go through like the 50s is where he was, he became king, you know. Elvis the pelvis. Yeah, and they bring that up.

They talk about that for sure. Um, do you think it's going to be nominated for best picture? No. Uh, I think, I would, I mean, the only reason I say no so definitively is because it's a, it's a June release. And June releases are tough because I was even thinking about Bohemian Rhapsody, right?

And I was like, when, oh my God, Rami Malick, when Rami Malik got nominated, I was like, when did that come out? And it came out in November. And the sweet spot for nominations for Best Actor, Whatever, Best Picture is like late September, end of December. There are very few movies. It happens in the summertime and things too. I think he'll get the nod because I don't know how many movies are going to be out there.

That he will? I think he'll get the nod. I think he'll get the... He's quite striking. Yeah, he's a gentleman. And actually looks better. I've seen on awards or I'm in like talk shows than as Elvis. I saw him and I was like, who is this dude?

but but and i don't marcelle's show what you didn't see marcell as hell i know we'll talk about that in the second because I know I can't see a post without the two of you raving about that movie. I haven't seen it though. But I would say I would have ranked it. If you would have went, if you would have guessed what I was going to rank those three movies, Thor, Black Phone and Elvis, where would you have gone? Thor first. Right. Yeah. Then probably Elvis and Black Phone. Right. My ranking is Elvis, Black Phone and then Thor. Wow. Which is crazy. And I would have given you, I would have said the same, the same ranking. Black Phone, Black Phone is a cool movie.

It's like it's. That's Ethan Hawk. Ethan Hawke, Scott Derrickson. Is it uncomfortable? Because it doesn't it deal with like kidnapping of kids? Yeah. But it's not, but it's, it's a horror movie, right? It's a horror thriller.

Was he in the one that? Yeah, it's not as, it's not, it's not as, it's not as, it's not as, like, prisoners. Yeah. Prisoners, prisoners is tough. I love that movie. I don't mean bad as far as quality. No. It's a great movie.

But he's talking about as far as a parent goes. Yeah, yeah. Because I had to review that for breadth of the future. I did prisoners and it was like, I was like, oh God, this is so good, but it was so, I hate that. This is more, this is like, and did you see room? Not the room, but do you see room? I haven't, no. It's so good.

Yeah. I should. Yeah, but this is like room, but with like a supernatural element to it, but it's really this kid and then having to deal with trying to get out of this room with this creepy dude, but he's also got his sister with a great sibling relationships that they have and she's trying to help find him

right but he's got to go through this thing and there's in the black phone obviously that's where the supernatural element comes in it's in the trailer but it's uh it was really it was really good it's not like an easy watch by any stretch of the imagination but it's it's very well directed the only I've said the only problem I have with it

there's a few times like there's some brutal fights like even before any of the abduction or anything. It's like a, it's a brutal, like, just like schoolyard fights where, normally you see a schoolyard fight and it's like a couple punches. Like, it's, it's like you're going to jail for the rest of your life type of, but he's like, ah, I just hurt my hand. It's like, what? And then there's another, there's another thing where somebody gets hit with a rock. And it's like, blood coming down someone's head. And it's just like, ah, I'm all right. It's okay. It's like, no,

you're going to either die because you got a big cut. And that person that hit you who's going to go to jail or juvie for a long time. And it was, it had nothing to do with the plot, basically. It's a little, a little thing. If it has a supernatural element, I think that brings me out of the realism of, you know, like prisoners was too real. Yeah. And seemed like, you know, like something that has and could happen.

Right. This is a, this is a, yeah, this is more of, you know. Freddie Krooker. Yeah, I don't want to ruin it for it. But it just, just, just the phone, the phone helps, helps the kid. Yeah, that's in the trailer. Like that black phone, and Ethan Hawks really creepy.

He's having a resurgence, huh? Yeah, he's really good. He's in three things that I really loved this year. He was cast today in something, too. Was he? And a new broke back style, him and Pedro Pascal movie. Oh, okay. That's what Steph told us.

Is it that good? Oh, my God, Christian, you're going to love it. You love it. You love it. You talk about it all the time. It's so funny. It's so sweet. Brett and Kate, I said, hey, people are, because she loves the books and she was excited.

I said, hey, the word on the street is this is a great film. And I said, by that, I mean, I just saw Rossi and Steph talk about it. That was the only, but it's like, I took your word. Like, I'm like, if they say it's good, I'm so good. You know what we didn't talk about either? What's that? Hustle is another one, which I would. You know, you finally watched it after?

Oh, you watched it before. You watched it before. Okay. I love that movie. I don't know yet where. I mean, I just came off of it when I told Roxy, I'd just seen it. So it was, it's really high up on my list. Feels like a true story when you're watching it.

It does. It's a, that one's on Netflix. That one you can watch and you don't need to be a massive sports fan to watch it. Surprisingly, I love sports films, right? Well, then you're going to love this. Because say, again, not a sports fan, right? Loved this movie.

We both loved this movie. Because we were going back and forth between that and what the hell is the one with the Joseph Kaczynski movie with Chris Hemsworth and Miles Teller? Oh, yeah. I keep seeing it, but I hear it's not good. I couldn't finish it. It was too, it was spiderhead or something. Yeah, spiderhead.

Something like that. I was not good. I just tuned out of it. I tuned out of it. It was interesting for a bit. And then I looked at it was still going It's like I don't even know Even if it's like almost two hours

It felt like it was four hours And it's just really dialogue heavy And I was and that's not that's necessarily a bad thing But it was just there's nothing really moving the plot And I and we were just I think we've had enough You know what I clicked on Netflix and don't recommend either God's favorite idiot The Melissa McCarthy and her husband show

Okay It's a show How many times though And I don't know Ben Falcone I don't know Melissa McCarthy I don't know them at all. They could be the most sweet, wonderful people in the world. What have they done together that has ever been good?

When he comes to cameos and things, it's good. Yeah. He's made cameo great, but together. He's really funny. And I think, but when they've directed, they've starred in stuff together and they've, I'm going to bring up their movies. I think there might be like one that was like decent. There's like the one where she goes to college.

Was that? I think that was okay. Yeah. This one's not horrific. It's just. just not funny and it's a comedy so that's a bummer. Right. And see, I just, they never, it's so weird because they've been together forever these two and they just can't, they, they work together all the time and none of their, like Tammy

was terrible. That movie was terrible. Oh, I thought it was terrible. Let's see. Act, no, director, director, director, director. Together, okay. Thunder Force, which I heard was terrible. I didn't see, I heard it was really bad. I never even heard of that. That was that superhero thing that came out with her and it was people yeah people people people said this was just i remember octavia spent yeah people had it on the worst of the year when that came out so i remember them talking about that um let's see where did i go so uh sorry sorry sorry six super intelligence i heard that was terrible life of the party was okay the boss was terrible Tammy was terrible and i don't know about nobody's but um yeah life of the

party surprised me. It was okay. It was going to be, it was okay. It had some elements of like, yeah, and I watched it on a, it was a plane movie.

It was like a, yeah, so I, many of the flights. About them working together. I don't know. Maybe they think that certain things

are funnier than they are. Yeah. Maybe at home, because I certainly, we've all been through that, you know, like, but I,

I'll crack jokes with my wife. And, like, oh man, everybody's going to be hilarious. Yeah, no, it doesn't play. And so maybe that's the,

that's the case, but hey, props to them. They keep getting projects made together and they get to work and they seem super happy together and everything. Great. Great. But I just, I watched. I,

I'm like six episodes in or something and I'm going to finish it because now I'm this far as. Is it terrible or just boring? Like the premise is, I actually don't know what the premise is. Six episodes in. That's a good sign. This guy starts glowing immediately.

Ben Falcone is his name? Yeah. Ben Falcone starts... It starts glowing, like his skin is glowing, and it's because God is like in him or wants people to know he exists. And then a person from Satan comes to try to get them. I don't know. Yeah, I don't really know.

We got to said the message of God or something. And it's a comedy. It's definitely supposed to be a comedy. And I'm watching it kind of with one eyebrow raised, like, when's the comedy? When you're going to laugh? Yeah. That's not a good.

That's what I will say. I mean, just again, I can't get into a full review yet because of the embargo, but you're not going to have to worry about that with Thor Love and Thunder. It's a full-fledged comedy. Comedy. It's a full-fledged comedy. Well, so was Ragnar Rock. 50-50 with Ragnarok.

This is about 80-20. Winston did a review when he came out. He said it was his favorite Thor movie. Yeah, we just did our full spoiler review on Ford that we're going to release, obviously, when it's time. But, like, yeah, he, it's funny because Winston was on, is on the, like, favorite Thor movie, top 10 Marvel films for now, right? Coy is in the, like, mid-tier, and I'm a little below on that.

But that's, again, that's good that that's in your review then. Yeah. Yeah, it's a very balanced spoiler review when that comes out. So trying to think any other things, like the boys and no, Stranger Things, you're funny. So you're cut up now, Stranger Things season four. And were you lying in you? No, it's great.

Sadie and I watched all three seasons of Stranger Things, but because of the major, because we talked about it on this show, you and I, months ago that they were going more horror with it. They definitely shift more harm. I mean, this is like Hellraiser, Nightmare and Elm Street,

Exorcist. It's got a lot of that stuff in it for sure. And that, and Sadie was like, I appreciate what this is right now, but like, it's two, it's too much for me. Oh, really? Yeah.

It was, so that's when she started watching Outlander was because of that show. She's like, I got to watch something a little, you know, a little lighter.

Sexier. Sexier. Yeah. And it was because there's some, she said to me after the first episode. Yeah, because we talked about this last time. So there was the first episode.

She said, does it get a little, I said, it's a little less creepy after the second one. And then she watched it. She said, you told me it gets less creepy. I'm like, it gets a little less creepier.

And it doesn't. I started, I started thinking about it. There's stuff that with Robert England and that type of stuff in the line. For sure. Yeah. But what I will say is for people who haven't seen, I won't ruin it for anybody, but there's, don't, don't, and I told you don't do this last time.

Don't Google. Who plays whoever. Don't do that until you've watched the whole thing. Because I did that and I said, I did a Google for an actor who plays a certain role. And then I got spoiled. I'm like, oh, damn it. Oh, I was going on TikTok and it was like theories about Stranger Things 4. And I thought, oh, it's just a theory.

And then I went, oh. You got spoiled by it? Yeah. And not by that, but something else. And I'm like, well, no, that's the theory I was kind of having. Just stay off a social media until you've watched it. That's, and it's also why I don't play around with, like, the boys also. And I saw like a stupid thing on for season three where I kind of think I know something that happens now.

I hope I'm wrong. But like, but this was like promotional art. Yeah. This is promotional art that I saw. And I'm like, oh, I hope that that's not promotional art. I don't know what it is. Spoiler. It just has to do with glowing eyes.

I'll say that. I don't know if that has anything to do anything. I will say Stranger Things, as much as it is like horror elements and stuff, like Lonnie hates horror films. It's got enough of comedy and of everything else that it's not going to. It's not a pure. If you're like,

if you're like, oh, I hate horror, you're not going to hate it. No, no, no. It still has the mystery and has all that stuff that makes the show, the show. But what I loved about is that they, because I was talking to Ellis about this. And Ellis was like,

I bailed on Strange. things how many demigorgans i'm like dude the demigorgans are like it's they're like mentioned in this show i'm like i'm like i'm like they realized it they had to go away from it and he's like all right you're you're selling it a little bit here i'm like i'm telling you go and what's his favorite show like what's sphapen sports center sports center and van halen documentary yeah that would be i mean he he loves severance he loves severance he keeps telling me to watch it i haven't i haven't done it yet i have impeccable taste you got good taste well you could you could you You watch everything.

Yeah. And sometimes I don't have great taste. In TV, I think you have better taste in TV. I do a really good taste in TV. I want you to do out. I want to know your thoughts on Outlander because it's, I mean, it deals with. Right. Oh, where are you?

Wait. It doesn't give anything up. It deals with time travel. Offer. Where are you? Episode three. It's taking me a minute. And it's really good.

I really like the show. I think people are like on crack. Crazy. It's a TV show. It's a full-blown TV show. 100%. This was a great job. This was the show that.

out of everything that I've ever seen, it's the one where you look at, a lot of times you'll see critics will have one score, and then the audience has another. The audience is 100% right on this. The critics, I don't know, like I've read some of the reviews of, about as pretentious as you get.

They're so annoying. Oh, they were so, like, they weren't even good criticism. Like sometimes I'll read it. I understand what you're saying. It was so. Well, you know, you look at the, the way that this particular thing,

was shot this wasn't actually happened it's a TV show speak like a human speak like a human in your reviews it's bizarre to me and I don't get the criticism that it's not real it's a TV show it's a show not a documentary it's a TV show

and then there was one thing I'm super invested in the characters it's so fine there was one review that I saw were like oh and then I'm watching it it's like there's side characters like who cares I'm like me I care Everybody care.

And everyone in this show, Miles Teller, phenomenal in it. Dan Fogler playing Coppola. What's, Matthew, you good. Juno Temple. Juno Temple is great. Everybody in the show, that was one. We couldn't stop watching. Every Thursday when it was on, we had to finish it.

And when I talked to Fogler on the show, he kind of, like, it seemed. He didn't confirm it, but he seemed like he had had these conversations about, like, what a sequel, what a second season could be. Cool. And the way that they leave off season one, like you could definitely, you definitely would have Matthew Good back as Evans. I want to see a full series of...

His voice is excellent. It's that, now when you can, as I was talking about with Tom Hanks playing Parker and look and comparing like what Parker, how Parker sounded and not really being as accurate. And then you compare Bob Evans to what Matthew Good is doing. Holy shit.

Yeah. So good. Yeah, Miles Teller, too, actually. what he does with his voice. Yeah. When you're able as an actor to manipulate your voice like that, where it's not cartoonish, it's so impressive. Like this?
