Starting point is 00:00:37 My robe is stuck on my shoulder. Yeah, welcome to 2026, the first capes and cows of 2026. Super excited to be here with y'all this particular morning. We've got a lot to talk about. It's a new year. That means it's going to be new content. They're going to be new shows, new movies. What are our most anticipated of 2026?
Starting point is 00:01:01 the list that has been put together by a journalist, but specifically we will give our lists of things that we're most excited about, so you don't want to miss that at all. We've got to talk about Wonder Man dropping at the end of the month. What kind of stuff can we expect? What have we already seen with some of the marketing? Where is it going to go?
Starting point is 00:01:18 We're going to talk about that. We've got a particular star from Vikings Valhalla saying that they are interested in potentially playing Wonder Woman. And of course, probably my favorite anime out. right now by a mile solo leveling is getting a live action adaptation and uh we got some stuff we need to talk about with it so y'all go do me a favor you haven't already hit the subscribe button if you're new to this whole shabangabang do that hit the notification bell be ready for all that right um second go find your sparkling apple cider or the rest of your champagne whatever
Starting point is 00:01:56 you have left over from new year's eve make sure you pour that up and go bring that sit down at your computer we're going to cheers and do all that kind of stuff and then myself and Chris Carr are going to take you away to a magical land called 2026 where all your dreams come true baby get it popping again welcome to the new capes and cows in 2026 uh you know we got to see if we can get uh that art update we got to get Chris as a as a as a comic character man and get her on that intro and get that popping off but like I said before I am Wednesday Marshall aka the swaggy blurred. I am here running the show today as Christian is actually with us in Los Angeles, but he's off, you know, making magic happen. So of course, I got to introduce my partner in
Starting point is 00:03:05 crime. Chris Carr, what's up, Chris? How are you doing? Girl, happy new year. Happy New Year. It's so good to see you. It's so good to see you too. What you get into? What you do for New Year's? What did I do for New Year's? I mean, I was, normally we throw a New Year's Eve party, but then this particular year, both because we moved and because we just came back from doing two Christmas. We actually did the movie. We realized we did the movie four Christmases completely by accident. Two destinations, but still did four Christmases. Dang.
Starting point is 00:03:47 Like it was, it was before we left, have dinner with my mom since she was just going to be there by herself. Then it was fly to Portland and go do Christmas with my fiance's family. We're on Christmas Eve. We spent it with her mom's side of the family. And Christmas day, we spent it with the dad's side of the family. Then the day after Christmas flew to Dallas and then did Christmas with my dad and all my siblings. So like, I legitimately cannot shake that I lived that movie. So I was happy to not plan a New Year's Eve party, go to someone else's house,
Starting point is 00:04:22 fuck their house up, excuse me, there's my one, go mess their house up and then come home and be hung over all day yesterday. Yeah, that was where I was at. How about you? Perfect. I went to a really great house party and then I went to karaoke. Still was home before like 1 a.m. But at my age, it has wrecked me.
Starting point is 00:04:43 It's wrecked me. where like even even getting home at that time i just still was like what have i done to myself um that's also because the bar i went to had uh jello shots and i was like you can still take those at 38 you can't you can't you can but you just have to understand that there is going to be a little bit of a backlash on your body there's going to be consequences yeah i've never been more excited to be in dryuary in dryuary yeah is that what you call it it. Yep. I'm just like, we're going to dry out. Yep. Yeah. Going to reassess alcohol. I have never heard that before. But yeah, man, it's been, it was overall, though, you had a good end to the year, good start to the year, all that good stuff. So good. Yesterday, Logan and I just spent the day binge watching stuff that he hadn't gotten to see yet, caught up on some of our shows, watched stranger things, you know, cried our eyes out. What did you think? We're, let's not, we won't do like a full. view even though I guess we could like that supernatural element of all makes it seem like we could
Starting point is 00:05:48 put it in the cave. I got superpowers. You know what I'm saying? I guess we could we could call it. But I'm curious. What did you think of the finale? Overall, I really liked it, particularly the last like 50 minutes. I think the kind of epilogue they did there was really satisfying just to kind of tie everything
Starting point is 00:06:04 up. Let us say goodbye to our friends. The moment with the binders I was sobbing and I did not expect was confused. And this is not a big spoiler or anything, guys. But the first half of the movie or the finale, I suppose, I just kept going, where the hell is Joyce? Where is she? And then Winona would just be like on the side of a frame like,
Starting point is 00:06:26 hi there. It confused me so much. I was like, what have you been doing? To the point where I will agree with that, that it was that moment where she does get involved. Again, I don't want to ruin it for anybody. But when she does get involved in the finale, I was like, bitch, did you learn to teleport?
Starting point is 00:06:47 Like, how did you? Yeah. Where did you? What? Like, where did you come from? Joyce has never looked fresher than in this moment, too. Out of nowhere. All of a sudden, hair was colored.
Starting point is 00:06:58 Yeah. Hair was colored, like, just fluffed up. Like, now we know what she was doing. While everybody was actually out here fighting, he was out here getting her hair and makeup done. Like, it was literally like, no, no, no, go ahead, peasants. You deal with the mind. The mind's back now.
Starting point is 00:07:12 I'll be back here. And then all of a sudden, I'm just like, what? Yeah. I, yeah, I, I, I, I really enjoyed it. I have my issues with the finale, but overall, I thought it was a well done finale of wrapping everything up. And then there's some timing things that could have been dealt with a little bit, but better of either speeding up or slowing down in certain places.
Starting point is 00:07:38 But I thought, I thought the, without telling too much, I thought giving us the inception, an ending of did everything work out is I thought was like a great way to wrap up a series that was five seasons but spanned it almost a full decade like you know I thought that that was that was the way to do it for sure but yeah overall I enjoyed it I'm going to call I think Luke is still in here I'm going to call a baby bit of an audible just because I saw someone say this in the chat And then I happen to see this immediately. About an hour ago, a couple of reports have come out that. Let me make sure I share this one.
Starting point is 00:08:24 Is it there? It is. Great. Here we go. Netflix reportedly wants to keep movies in theaters for just 17 days post-Warner Brothers. Everybody's worst fear is coming true. This is the IGN report on it.
Starting point is 00:08:36 There was a, I saw a couple others, but this one was the most recent. Netflix reportedly wants to keep movies in theaters for just 17 days after it buys Warner Brothers. The report from Deadline on the Stranger Things Season 5 finale, which made 25 million in theaters after it released at the same time theatrically as it did on Netflix. Hollywood was said to be worried about what the streamer considers to be industry standard windows before movies are made available on its platform. And then this bombshell. Sources have told deadline that Netflix have been proponents of a 70-day window, which would, stream-rolled theatrical business, while circuits such as AMC believe the line needs to be held around 45 days. Worth noting, this is in confirmation that Netflix will settle on a 17-day window for Warner Brothers movies if and when its deal is approved.
Starting point is 00:09:26 The theater companies may end up negotiating a lengthy window, perhaps somewhere between 45 days and the 17-day Netflix reportedly is a fan of. But what's clear is that there will be a great deal of tension within Hollywood, as this is all worked out with Netflix's priority. as you'd expect bolstering streaming. If Netflix does force through a 17-day window, it could affect everything from James Gunn's DC Universe, movie universe, made it tomorrow, and that comes out in July of 27, to Lower the Rings,
Starting point is 00:09:53 The Hunt for Gullin, which comes out December of 27. Then there's Matt Reeves, the Batman Part 2, which is due out October of 27, and Godzilla X-Kong Supernova due out March 27, how would the likes of James Gunn, Andy Circus, Matt Reeves, and other directors of Warner Bros. movies react to their work having less than three weeks in theaters before hitting Netflix. The 82.7 billion Netflix-Nusher Brothers deal has sparked a tough response from some members of
Starting point is 00:10:18 Congress that is expected to face significant scrutiny under antitrust laws. Meanwhile, at least one HBO max subscriber has already sued Netflix claiming the deal threatens to reduce competition in the U.S. subscription video on-demand market. Warner Brothers' own streaming platform HBO Max includes everything from Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, James Gunn's DC Universe to Barbie, and it's content is expected to be added to Netflix if and when the deal goes through. After its announcement, Netflix sent subscribers an email of reassurance that made concern about over potential price rises, the email reviewed by IGN, promised subscribers that nothing was
Starting point is 00:10:51 changing quote unquote today and confirm that HBO Max and Netflix would continue to operate separately until the deal closes. It did not rule out future price rises, but did promise that current membership plans would remain in place at least until the deal goes through. asked for when that will be. Netflix said it expects to close the transaction in the next 12 to 18 months. So the earliest is December 26, but it could be his latest summer 27. In an investor call attended by IGN, Netflix chiefs Ted Sarandos struck a confident tone when asked about the deal's changes of success. We're highly confident in the regulatory process. He said the deal is pro-consumer, pro-innovation, pro-worker, it's pro-creative, it's pro-growth.
Starting point is 00:11:30 As part of the same call, Therando said Netflix would continue to release Warner Brothers movies in theaters for now, though expected theatrical windows to shorten over time to become more user-friendly. We released about 30 films into theaters this year, so it's not like we've got this opposition to movies into theater. Sarando said my pushback has been mostly in the fact of the long, exclusive windows that we don't think are that user-friendly. All right. Well, there's a little bit here.
Starting point is 00:11:56 I don't want to keep going on forever, forever. Oh, we're almost at the end, guys. I'm just going to finish the article. I apologize. Chris, I am so sorry. Hold on. Wait. There we go. Okay.
Starting point is 00:12:10 I wouldn't look at it as much as a change and approach for Netflix movies or for Warner Bros. movies for that matter, Saranos continue. I think over time the windows will evolve to much more consumer friendly to be able to meet the audience where they are quicker. All those things we'd like to do. But I'd say right now you should count on everything that is planned as going to the theaters through Warner Brothers. We'll continue to go to theaters through Warner Brothers. Last month, Ryan Johnson expressed frustration at the limited theatrical release of his new Benoit Blonde. a non-flict Netflix film, Wake Up Dead Man and Knives Out Mystery.
Starting point is 00:12:39 Netflix released Wake Up Dead Man in theaters on November 26th in time for the Thanksgiving holiday before releasing it on Netflix itself on December 12th, but it only released it in select theaters as opposed to nationwide, something that left Star Wars, less Jedi writer and director, Auditon Press. Meanwhile, Avatar director James Cameron said Netflix buying Warner Brothers would be a disaster. Sorry to Sarandos, but geez, he said on the town podcast, Sarandos has gone on record saying theatrical films are dead. theatrical is dead quote unquote indeed Cameron remains unconvinced that Netflix will truly commit to any meaningful theatrical distribution if expanded It's sucker bait he said we'll put the movie out for a week or 10 days We'll qualify for Oscar contention see I think that's fundamentally rotten to the core The movie should be made as a movie or for theatrical and the Academy Awards be nothing to me if they don't mean theatrical I think they've co-opted it and it's horrific
Starting point is 00:13:29 That said Cameron is opposed to Netflix playing the game if it actually well plays the game They should be allowed to compete if they put the movie out for a meaningful full release in 2000 theaters for a month. And that was one report has claimed Netflix is particularly keen to obtain Warner Brothers vast content libraries. The streamer ramps up his potential album about AI in the future. All right. There is a lot in that article, Chris, to cover. That's part of why I wanted to call this Audible right now. Because James Cameron, in my opinion, is spot on.
Starting point is 00:14:04 immediate thought to counteract this BS would be the Academy should immediately change the rules that it needs that it needs to be way more than the little lighthearted it was out there for like a week in like a couple theaters it needs to be nah mother you need to have that out there for at least a month if not longer um and treat that as such but you hear all of that this is a lot of people's greatest concerns potentially coming true here where where is your head at kind hearing Sarandos is already ready to destroy movie theaters. Man, remember when I was like, I'm going to try my best to be cautiously optimistic here. Yep, I was too.
Starting point is 00:14:45 Hold on, hold on. We're laughing. 17 days is nothing. And I'm going to be so honest, you guys, like, that is going to be a problem for me to get to see certain movies sometimes. This is my job is to go watch stuff and talk to you all about it. But because of my own actor life and running a studio and stuff, sometimes it does take me three or four weeks to get to a theater because I'll have voiceover sessions that are six hours long so I can't go see a three hour movie. So this for me is something that is going to be challenging for me to go see stuff.
Starting point is 00:15:20 And I have the privilege and honor of being like, this is a priority in my life. For your average movie going audience, I think this is going to really affect people. You know, Ted Sarandos had said all this stuff about maintaining the integrity of the cinematic experience. And I don't know how you can do that with 17 days. That's nothing. That's nothing. We would all be watching Avatar streaming right now. You know?
Starting point is 00:15:40 And I don't think that is the right amount of time to give people that theatrical experience. Because people have lives. People need stuff to do. I understand that there is the argument for folks with lots of, you know, family members or lower incomes or stuff. Streaming makes more sense for you to watch a movie. I love giving people that option so that they and however many kids they have or however many family and friend members they want to have, together watching something, they can just pay that streaming price and they're fine. But for those of us who do want to go to theaters, for those of us who are intrinsically tied to theaters, theater owners,
Starting point is 00:16:14 other people who work in this industry, this is a huge, huge issue for us. And it's just, I love your idea about getting the academy involved of making this like, it has to be in theaters X amount of days in order to qualify for anything. Because I think that's one of the only things you're going to be able to get people like Titsirandos to move the needle on is, oh, well, we do like when we have prestige moments. We do like that we have Oscar nominated films. Maybe we can give into this. I also keep coming back to how the heck are they going to make money?
Starting point is 00:16:44 Yeah. No, I mean, that's a big part of it. But it is this idea, yes, you have, you have started to train people to just wait. But like, for example, I, like you said, I'm busy. Like I just described my four Christmas's ass situation, right? I still haven't seen Avatar because I didn't get any of the press screenings. I couldn't do it. The one day that I was going to go super early got screwed up because of work.
Starting point is 00:17:14 And I still haven't been yet. I do not, if we were already at the 17 day thing, which would mean that we would be wrapped up here in about three days by the end of Sunday, I believe, I would not be seeing Avatar 3 because I already said with this movie in particular, I'm not really the biggest fan of this franchise and the thing that keeps me in a spectacle of it all.
Starting point is 00:17:42 So if I can't go see it in IMAX and see the glory of it in its full, I don't care. And so that's just me with this. What do you think is going to happen with people with Marvel movies, with DC movies, where they're like,
Starting point is 00:17:58 Oh, seeing Superman fly around on a giant screen. Yeah, I would see that. I put on my TV, if it's on TNT, I guess, and then running the rerun, like some people, you are literally going to lose the appeal that some people have to see certain movies one way or the other. Or people that, again, if they don't have time, the one thing that I found really interesting that people have kind of talked about with TV, they talk about this phenomenon a little more with music.
Starting point is 00:18:30 The minute we got to the point where you could listen to all music at any point in time and whatever, whatever, you actually saw a massive drop in the amount of different artists that were able to be successful because people selective, well, I just want to listen to this happens. You don't discover stuff naturally like you did. Yes, the radio was a political game of you paid the right people, your shit got played on the radio, but it still gave you the opportunity to hear different genres of music potentially or a different artist within that genre that then expanded your mind and then you went down a rabbit hole.
Starting point is 00:19:06 I think the same issue is going to happen with these movies. You will only go to the movies to see a Superman or an avatar. You're not going to go see anything else because you're just like, well, I had 12 days. I didn't have time. I had kids. Like, you know what I mean? I think it's going to be a bad. Bad, bad move for actually expanding stuff.
Starting point is 00:19:28 It is. Well, and you go back to things like everywhere, everything everywhere all at once. That had a huge theatrical run that kept getting extended because of the word of mouth, because people slowly but surely were going, wait, what's this movie with Googly eyes? What are you talking about? And that was in theaters well past its normal theatrical window. And so many people discovered this beautiful age 24 film that I don't think they would have gravitated towards.
Starting point is 00:19:51 And of course, you can always find stuff on streaming. It's there. I understand that. But again, being in a shared theater, having a shared experience with people from all different walks of life who have a completely different life than yours and experiencing something together and being moved by the same things. Like that, I don't want 2026 to be the year where we all just give up on those human experiences with the rise of AI with the theaters like shutting this window down. I want more shared experiences with other human beings. I want to celebrate being human. And I feel like this dampens that so much. I think it does too. I feel like there's a couple of different ways to attack this. I think the main one is the academy getting involved, and then I think what you kind of could potentially do, because I saw somebody in the comments being like, well, you know, the smaller independence of can't necessarily afford
Starting point is 00:20:45 to have those longer windows. I was like, well, then those smaller independence that you're talking about probably have smaller budgets. There should be something that's listed in the budget if you spend X amount on a movie, then it has to be out X amount of time to be qualified. I think that that's maybe how you get around that and then you can make it fair for everybody.
Starting point is 00:21:06 If you made a $10 million movie, I get it. You probably don't have a lot of distro. You probably don't have this massive whatever thing that's going on one way or the other. If you spent $200 million on a movie, suck it up, Buttercup. You have that much money to do this, then figure that out too, because, again,
Starting point is 00:21:22 if you don't put guardrails up to protect the theatrical experience, it will die. And if it does, I feel like this is one of those things where you're killing a staple of society that like genuinely, like I know we don't go to theater nearly as much as we used to, like live theater. But it is still a staple of entertainment. It is a staple of society to have those live performances that. that people go and enjoy. I think we have gotten to that point with movies in the same way. The communal, we are out here together.
Starting point is 00:22:00 I know we're complaining about people being on TikToks and shit while they're doing that, but I genuinely think that it's something that needs to be protected at all costs. Because the last thing we need is, part of why I think we remain so divided across a lot of things in the world is because we don't have as much commonplace
Starting point is 00:22:21 water cooler type things to bring us together. Yeah, we don't have the third place anymore, really. And for anyone who doesn't know that concept, right, you have work, you have home. The third place is a place of where you can meet, where you can engage in community, where you can just sit around and have discussions with folks, right? And for some people, right, that could be bars or restaurants or whatever. But what it typically was were shared work spaces, you know, community events, theater, that sort of thing. And we need more of that. Everyone in 20206 needs to touch grass and see movies.
Starting point is 00:22:57 Please, for the love of God, go touch some grass and then on your way to see a movie. Like, take some grass in with you. Maybe don't because then the theater, people are going to have to clean that up. And that's not nice. But please touch some grass and see movies. But let us know what you think, man. Are you hearing all of that about Sarandos and you're now, you weren't worried before, but now you're worried? Or are you like, I told you. Winston, you kept going on and on about oh, Netflix ain't going to be that bad. And now here we are. Let us know
Starting point is 00:23:27 what you were thinking, man, in the comments. We are trying to hit 108 on them super chats today. That is the goal. It's 108 of what we're trying to do. And again, you know how we do that. We read that in the second half of the show. So we will get to that and we will get to some of
Starting point is 00:23:43 the other stories I had already been teasing at the top of the show. But before we do that, we have to play a message from our sponsor for today. Ridge Wallet. Thank you so much to Ridge Wallet for sponsoring the show. But yeah, we're going to pop over to our next story. This was kind of the main bread and butter of what we were supposed to be talking about.
Starting point is 00:24:08 But again, I needed to, the minute somebody pointed that out, I was like, no, we got to talk about, we got to talk about Netflix. It's nonsense. But 2026, the most anticipated of 20206 is a little. lot coming out here. This is comic book club lives list and then Chris and I will kind of talk going forward. So what is the current state of superhero cinema? Either the reports of its death have been greatly exaggerated or it's on life support, depending on who you ask. But with plenty of new releases in theaters and TV from both DC and Marvel in 2026, there's plenty to talk about in the year to come. That includes two biggies, Avengers, Doom,
Starting point is 00:24:51 Day at the end of the year and Supergirl coming in hot in June. On the former, Disney's putting out all the stops to make sure that not as hot MCU still hits blockbuster status with a lot on the line. On the latter, Superman debuted to great reviews and solid box office, but with Warner Brothers Discovery and a state of flux, can the maiden of might make the case that the DCU should keep its 10-year plan going with whoever ends up owning the company? There's a few more films hitting theaters, including Brand New Day with Spider-Man Brand-New day, the DCU horror movie Clayface, but at least as far as 2026 is concerned, TV is where it's at,
Starting point is 00:25:27 with new and returning shows hitting almost every month. Final season of the boys, which is going to be a big deal, the debut of DCU's lanterns, perhaps most intriguing, Spider-Noar, which stars Nick Cage as a version of his film noir Spider-Man from Into the Spider-Verse, but this time in live action. So here's the list of stuff coming. We have The Beauty, which is a Fox FX show. What's it about based on the formerly Image Comics, Now Ignition Press series by Jeremy Hahn and Jason A. Hurley,
Starting point is 00:26:01 a farmer billionaire develops a new drug called The Beauty that makes you look like your best self. Only problem, it's a ticking time bomb that will kill you in a horrible way if you don't like and subscribe. Oh, also, there's a serial killer murdering people who use the drug. Damn, who's involved. Ryan Murphy liberally adapts. the comic alongside an all-star cast featuring Evan Peters, Rebecca Hall, Ashton Cudger, Jeremy Pope, Anthony Ramos, as well as a boatload of Murphy Mainstays as guest stars.
Starting point is 00:26:29 While we're hyped, there's one of our favorite comics over here, the old comic book club, and while footage shown at New York ComicCom seems to her, made a few changes, still intrigued. Then we got Wonder Man dropping at the end of the month, when a reclusive director emerges from retirement to reboot an old movie property called Wonder Man, actor Simon Williams, played by Yaya Abdul Mateem 2nd, the second, the same. that he'll stop it, nothing to get the part. Who's involved? Destin, Daniel Creighton, and Andrew Guest. Also stars Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery reprising his role for Iron Manthenes Chung Chi, now as Simon's acting coach. And we're hyped because of the Meta Hollywood commentary can go either way.
Starting point is 00:27:10 And up to navel gazing, but Creighton has been a reliable indicator of quality so far. Less reliable is how Marvel has shifted the release date multiple times and now dumping all eight at the end of January. so there's that daredevil born again season two march fourth uh continuing with the kingpin taking over his mayor um uh we've got what charlie cucks and vincent vinafrio again um and the rest of cast and crew including debor anne wallis karen page and even somehow uh i uh aden hadenson as foggy nelson uh new the cast we are matthew lillard as the mysterious mr charles and lily taylor as governor of New York. And Christian Ritter is returning as Jessica Jones. Obviously, the Jessica Jones return is what people are most hyped about. The shows are even picked up for season three. So there's all of that. Invincible season four, dropping in March. We're dealing with what the Voltramite plot line that's been bubbling in the background is heating up. And the addition of Lee Paces the voice of the series Big Back Emperor Thrag. So yeah, we're excited just because season three did well and things are going to continue. The boys season five.
Starting point is 00:28:19 April of 26. It ends here other than the spinoffs. Final battle between Homelander and Billy Butcher. Fate of the world is at stake. Homelander's fully taken over the U.S., and now the boys are pushing back. And why we're most hyped, you know, after the Gen V cast is knowing that they're dropping by
Starting point is 00:28:41 and they had some really interesting stuff kind of pop off and how that could affect Homelander and whatnot, let alone to see the final battle with Butcher and all that lot going on. Four kids walk into a bank. I have no idea what this is, but it drops in April. This looks dope based off of a comic
Starting point is 00:28:59 by Matthew Rosenberg and Tyler Boss. The book focuses on four kids who decided to rob a bank rather than let their reformed criminal grandpa pull the job. Okay, that sounds hilarious. I'm in. Supergirl, June 26th. We kind of already know.
Starting point is 00:29:15 This is, you know, she's trying to get turned for a 21st birthday in space. and instead goes on a revenge quest. We've talked about that a lot. Jason Mamoa is involved as Lobo. A lot of cool stuff there. Follow up to Superman. Yada, yada.
Starting point is 00:29:29 Spider-Man Brandy Day, July 31st. I don't need to say that. If you're watching the show, you know what we've talked about with Spider-Man. We don't know really the story per se. We just know that it's Spider-Man. Nobody knows who the Spider-Man is, no-mo. And now he's trying to be Peter and Spider-Man separately. And we'll see how that all plays out.
Starting point is 00:29:49 X-Men 97 season two completely forgot that that's dropping this year mid-20206 we just know that we're dealing with multiple timelines all that have apocalypse involved very excited to see what happens there but it'll be interesting to see without having Bode Mayo if it will hold up lanterns mid-20206 Hal Jordan John Stewart dark murder mystery on earth this was obviously delayed but we're looking forward to that the Huntersher television special mid-20206 Frank Castle teaches everyone the true meaning of Christmas. Just kidding. We don't actually know what it's about. We just know it ties to Bort Against Season 2. Rumor has it that it may loosely adapt the Mah Nucci arc from Marvel's Puniture
Starting point is 00:30:30 Max series. We've got Clayface, a body horn movie. This is September of 26. A Butterhorn movie about the Batman villain just trying to make it in the film biz when he instead turned into a horrible clay man. Looks dope. Avengers Doomsday. We've talked about this a lot. And then Vision Quest, late 2026, picking up on the white vision storyline from the end of Wanda Vision,
Starting point is 00:30:55 vision goes on a journey to figure out who he is. Your Friendly Neighborhood, Spider-Man, Season 2, late 2026, now fully established Spider-Man protects New York and the animated series alongside two new characters, Spider-Gwen and Venom. The latter may not so much be on the protecting side, though, to be determined. Spider-N-War, no date set quite yet, but we talked about that earlier. criminal to be announced based on comics by Ed Brubiker and Sean Phillips, multiple generations of criminals do crime stuff. Cool.
Starting point is 00:31:26 Rogue Trooper to be announced based on a 2008 comic character. The title is a blueskin soldier who hangs out with his talking gun helmet and backpack. So he's like mercenary, Dora the Explorer? Okay. I rock with that. That's a lot of stuff. That's so much stuff. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:46 That's a lot of stuff. It is going to be on and poppid. So why don't we do this? Give me your Mount Rushmore. You don't have to necessarily rank them in order. But give me the four of all those things that we listed. Give me the four that you are most looking forward to. Okay.
Starting point is 00:32:03 I think it's probably going to be then. And it doesn't mean that I don't like the other things. But I think for me then it's going to be X-Men 97, lanterns, Spider-Man, Supergirl. I think that's where I'm at. How about for you? Okay. It's going to be. So here's the thing.
Starting point is 00:32:24 I agree with you. It's not that I don't want to see the other stuff and it's not high on my list, but if I'm leaving it off, it's because something knocked it down a peg enough for me to just back off. So I'm not going to say X-Men 97, as much as I scream from the high heavens, how incredible that show is. Because Bo isn't there, I don't, I am now worried about the massive changeover. That's true.
Starting point is 00:32:53 It doesn't mean that like whatever happened with Bo didn't necessarily need to happen. But I am so concerned about we did full rewrites on stuff and we whatever, is it going to actually hold up? Is now what I'm worried about? But as far as my anticipated would be just no order, the boys, Supergirl. Spider-Man, and then probably, probably Clayface. Oh, yeah. I've been talking about how much I've been looking forward to lanterns. The peg down for that is because they all of a sudden moved the date.
Starting point is 00:33:38 It's not nervous. I'm obviously excited about Avengers Dooms Day, but I've said this multiple times. The MCU does not have its flawless track record or its high track record. record that it used to, it's on shaky grounds. So while I do believe doomsday will be good, it's enough for me to go, I'm going to take pause. I'm just going to pull it back a little bit. You know, like what else is in there?
Starting point is 00:34:03 Don't know enough about the Punisher special to care. Yeah. So I can't really throw my hat in the ring for that. I love him and the roll. That four kids walking to the bank thing sounds awesome. That sounds so fun. I am super here for it. But this is my first time hearing about it.
Starting point is 00:34:18 I haven't seen any sort of trailers. So I can't be like, you know what? It's going to trump everything else because this is just my first time hearing about it in words. So I, you know what I mean? But yeah, that's kind of where I'm at with that. It's boys, supergirl, Spider-Man. And then whatever, the last one I said, I already forgot. Clayface, Clayface.
Starting point is 00:34:43 The beauty also sounds interesting. It does. Like the substance, but with some more murder mystery. added in there? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. With Ryan Murphy, there's going to be some camp in that. It's going to be silly.
Starting point is 00:34:56 That is his special is throwing the camp in there. So I'm definitely looking forward to that as well. But yeah, is there anything on here? Let me ask of all of the things you just heard, what is your least anticipated? I'm curious. Oh, I don't want you all to come for me. I've kind of burnt out on doom.
Starting point is 00:35:22 day already. Ah, I'm kind of burnt out on it already because we've had to talk about it so much. And we're talking about these tiny little trailers and all this stuff. And I'm just already at the point of, it's a year from now. It's a year from now. Calm down. Let me rest. I think is probably where I'd put that. I don't know. And then some of the things I just had no idea about them, you know, obviously I had no anticipation because I didn't know that they were here yet. But, oh, I do have to say, thank you for telling me to give Gen V another chance because we've been re-watching that. It's good. It's good.
Starting point is 00:35:58 I don't know why I was such a butthole about it before I was like, I don't know if I like this. It's great. Well, the fact, what Gen V did such a good job of is you took what is normally clowned for, what's normally clowned for like a CW-esque show or whatever because they tend to be more. you know, teen or young adult related and all that kind of stuff. You took those kind of like issues and things you might find in that show, but you put it in the world of the boys. So it's, it is ratcheted up to 11 in the violence and the sex and all that kind of stuff. But you found ways to talk about real things that like a college student or a teenager might be going through. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:42 But put it within the context of the thing. So for example, for one superpower to work where she can shrink or grow. they're shrinking, she has to essentially go be bulimic and throw up, and then she's losing mass that way. And so then they do dive into, well, she actually has an eating disorder, but that's the only way she can be a soup and all that kind of stuff. And then her learning to use her powers without doing that and find a healthy way to do that. Or even the identity of one of the characters, you know, being trans,
Starting point is 00:37:17 that she's, that they're a shapeshifter. and the different powers do they feel like they feel powerful in different ways depending on which body that they're in. You know what I mean? Like that's, I think there were so many really great ways to address a lot of issues and things that that are going on in that medium, which is why I think Gen V is so good. And I wish we were getting another season right now. But I'm glad you came back to it for show. Me too, me too.
Starting point is 00:37:48 least anticipated for me. I got to say, sadly, is Wonder Man. I was more excited about it before. It's another one of those. If you move the release dates too many times, you're going to make me nervous. And then when you throw in, and we talked about this,
Starting point is 00:38:03 you throw in Wonder Man at the end of January in a full episode dump, all of my spider senses are tingling. I'll tell you that much. You know, I got a Peter tingle right now. Phrasing, Jesus. Let me, oh my God, that came out completely wrong. Cock?
Starting point is 00:38:23 So I just, in theory, because I love Yaya and because Ben Kingsley has been killing it as Trevor. And Wonder Man as a character is very interesting. I should love it. But that's probably my least anticipated for that. I'm trying to view it not as a superhero show. I'm trying to view it like Marvel does the studio. Yeah. And that's what I'm hoping for.
Starting point is 00:38:51 Mostly because I'm, the only reason why it's not in like my bottom list right now is because just seeing yeah, I got set up the self tape camera, right? Just having you deal with that stupid ring light for me was, yeah, cellular level of like, oh, yeah. I think this will be good for my soul a little bit.
Starting point is 00:39:10 Yeah, no, no, no, for sure. Absolutely, man. That, that is why the part of me that did see, those trailers like, oh, yeah, this is going, this going to hit. But then, again, the more it got pushed, the more I was like, yeah. And that is a fair gurgle. That's fair.
Starting point is 00:39:35 I was going to push it to see how long I can keep you going. Oh, no, I'm so sorry. Oh, my goodness. But yeah, so that would be kind of where I'm at. What's the last one? Give me an honorable mention. What is the most intriguing that's not on that rush more for you, that you're just like, I'm very curious. I, oof, I don't know if this was on the list because it was a whole bunch of stuff, but the next season of One Piece, because I meet manga.
Starting point is 00:40:07 It was not on the list, but I respect, respect. Yeah, so excited. The way that we were talking with Luke at the top of the show, the way that Chopper looks, Tony Tony Chopper, come on. I will burn the world for that little guy already. I'm ready. I love that. Yeah. I love that. I don't know one piece enough to really know.
Starting point is 00:40:25 So, but I, but I'm excited for you. You're talking about the little moose dude, right? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. That was my guess.
Starting point is 00:40:32 I think my honorable mention is Vision Quest. They haven't really necessarily been pushing it. I have seen no, um, there hasn't been a miss so far, uh, with the, the two Wanda vision shows, the Wanda Vision and Agatha all along. I thought they both were really well done. So I have a lot of. faith in that kind of series there. So, you know, we're just rounding it out.
Starting point is 00:40:56 So I'm just very curious. I'm very curious to see what happens. Plus, we're getting the return to Ultron. So that's also very curious inducing. So, yeah, that's where I'm at. That's where Chris is at. Where are you at? The whole city behind us.
Starting point is 00:41:11 See, that's what Oh has. I remember the first Boost Mobile commercials. Let us know what you're thinking. What are you most looking forward to? We listed a bunch of those, everything from Spider-Man to Wanda vision to, I mean, white vision, excuse me, Vision Quest, Jesus Christ, Doomsday, Invincible, the boys, lots and lots of stuff I mentioned there. Let us know what you think in the comments.
Starting point is 00:41:34 Keep sending in those super chats. We're sitting at about 11 right now where we've got about 12 minutes before the top of the hour. We've got a number of stories to kind of cover very quickly because we spent a lot of time on Netflix, which is on me, but I felt like we needed to. But let us know what you're thinking and let's pop over and talk about. about some Wonder Man since Wonder Man is about to drop. Some new stills take us to the MCU's version of Hollywood as Shang Chi Composer Boards Disney Plus series.
Starting point is 00:42:02 It's Josh Wilding reporting yesterday. Marvel television released the first full trailer of Wonder Man. We now have some new stills from the series and confirmation that the soundtrack featuring an original score by Shang Chi and the Legends of the 10-ring composer Joel P. West will be released on Hollywood records across all digital platforms January 30th. A press released sent out by Disney also confirmed, that all eight episodes will stream exclusively on Disney Plus at 6 p.m. Pacific January 27th.
Starting point is 00:42:26 We've known this would likely be the case for a while, but there's been some confusion on social media about whether the MCU series really is released in one go. Aside from Echo, which was plagued by issues that led to a restructuring of the series, new episodes of the Marvel Studios produced TV shows have typically dropped weekly. Why that's not the case with Wonder Man, is it clear? But given the talent involved, it's hard to believe it's run into the same issues as the Hawkeye spin-off. It might be the Disney Plus has simply decided.
Starting point is 00:42:54 Wonder Man makes for a better binge watch than a weekly series, especially as it's previously reported that the episode runtimes are only between 23 and 34 minutes. We're doing something that tonally feels much different than really any other Marvel show or any other of the films. Lead star Yaya Abdul Mateen II previously said, we're doing something that's fresh and a bit tongue-in-cheek, a bit self-aware, the show is self-aware without looking directly into the camera. there'll be commentary about superhero fatigue and things like that, but to me, it's just stressing. That's not really the aim of the show.
Starting point is 00:43:27 The focus of the show is about an actress journey. It's about a journey of friendship. The eight episode series is created by Dustin, Daniel Creighton, Chung Chi, and Brand New Day, and Andrew Guest, community, and Hawkeye. Wonder Man stars Emmy winner, Yaya Abdulmanteen, the second is Simon Williams, and Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley, who replies his role of Trevor Slattery, Trevor Slattery following appearances in Iron Man 3, Shung-Chine, and all hail the king.
Starting point is 00:43:54 Aryan Moid, X. Mayo, Zaltko, Burrück, Olivia Thirlby, and Brian Bowers also feature. The series follows the aspiring Hollywood actor Simon Williams, who's struggling to get his career. We talked about this. We meet Trevor Slattery to be his director slash acting coach. There's two actors at the opposite end of their career. Doug Lee pursued life-changing roles in.
Starting point is 00:44:17 And this film is audience going to peek behind the curtain. All right. So, wait, oh, are there stills there? Did I miss that? Let's see.
Starting point is 00:44:26 Hold on. Here's one. There's another of the Wonderman premiere. Yep, there you're talking about the ring light. Yep. God damn ring light. Very basic poor actor outfit right here.
Starting point is 00:44:41 The, just the gray, the gray crew neck and some jeans and some chucks. Wear that for like, pre-audition because it's neutral. Yep. Oh, man. Yeah, no.
Starting point is 00:44:54 So what are you thinking? What are you thinking? Chris, where are you at? Where are you mind at? All that good stuff. The only thing that I can kind of try to do to reconcile this dump, the sort of lack of huge advertising push on this as well is, hey, if they are 23-minute episodes, a binge does make sense, right?
Starting point is 00:45:15 Eight episodes, 23 minutes each or so, sure. Put that all out there. I'm going to have a fun time watching this. But then that kind of makes me go, why is it a series? I don't know. An eight episode series. It's 23 minutes and it's all coming out at once. We could have done like, you know, a werewolf by night situation.
Starting point is 00:45:30 Give me like a little feature presentation that goes on here. They feel special. And again, like I was saying before, for me, I am just trying to go, I don't think this is going to be the adaptation of the Wonder Man comics where we really focus on him having powers and him being, you know, a, well, not really a hero when you get into Wonder Man stuff. But still, you know, we're not going to focus on that kind of like super ability part of this. I really do feel it is more of the exploration of, like Yaya said, the actor's journey and this journey of friendship. And seeing how he and Trevor kind of are pushing from different ends of their career and seeing where they're both at and how they can come together.
Starting point is 00:46:09 Those kinds of things honestly do make me excited about this. Yes. I just think for most people, you hear a Marvel Wonder Man adaptation. you don't think, oh, yeah, it's going to be like a fun buddy comedy about the struggles of the working actor. Right, right. Oh, no, I caught it. Okay. I caught your yon.
Starting point is 00:46:31 Sorry. Spreading like a wildfire. Whatever this flu is, man, this flu that's out there is dangerous. I am so glad I got my shot this year. Me too. Oof, because I already feel like a little just crusty. And I'm so glad. Rusty.
Starting point is 00:46:51 This crusty. For those of you who are in the Los Angeles area, we had weather. That's crazy. We've had flash flooding for Christmas and New Year's. And so this whole drop in barometric pressure, I don't think any of us are ready. We're like, it's 50 degrees and wet? We're going to die. I mean, look, man, the way it was flooding during New Year's.
Starting point is 00:47:15 So the party that we went to and then we'll come back to the same. story. You know, I was where, like, on the way there, I was in what, like, this nice vest and, like, button up and, like, jeans and, like, my Jordans. And I couldn't see the river of water over from the sidewalk to the street to cross the street. Just stepped right in it, fully soaked my foot. And then on the way out, this party is you come dress to the nines to start. And then at midnight after we all, the ball drops in the Happy New Year.
Starting point is 00:47:47 people switch into pajamas. So then I come out and I'm in like my Savage Finty like lime green ass like silk robe and pants and all that. And once again, it had been raining so hard as soon as I walk out. It's really dark on the sidewalk. Another giant puddle.
Starting point is 00:48:08 Then soaked my entire leg because it just crept up the silk. This entire leg just wet the whole ride home. So damn you weather. damn you. But I think you hit the nail on the head about the buddy cop of the actor side of things. I think that people were going to be more sensitive to it. But I think people do tend to like the, this is what's really going on with actors and Hollywood behind the scene stuff.
Starting point is 00:48:35 And I think getting that, like, did you ever watch old show, Ricky Jervais's first thing, extras. Extras was so good. It was so good. And I'm curious if we're going to get, if we're going to get more kind of cameos in Hollywood. And then we kind of get the question answered. Like Kevin Bacon obviously is canon in the MCU because of the Guardians of the Galaxy special, holiday special. Are we going to get a scenario where somebody's like, oh, George Clooney is canon?
Starting point is 00:49:14 He never would actually play anybody because George Clooney is. canon and like I'm curious who we're going to get who's going to be a fake Hollywood actor or who's going to be a real one. Do you have any, do you think there will be any cameos that you might, that might appear on the horizon? I mean, there's got to be. I'm just trying to think of how they play it. You know what I mean? Is this an opportunity to be very tongue in cheek and have a couple like Netflix characters who aren't going to be seen in Daredevil pop up? Like, do you have David Tenet pop up to do like some Kilgrave nonsense? Right, right. But just being like, oh yeah, well, my, I played this part.
Starting point is 00:49:47 I was so fortunate, you know, or some kind of nonsense like that. I think it could be so fun. Yeah. As long as they don't get too crazy with it, you know? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:57 Yeah, yeah, no, for sure. Because I'm trying to think, what, the, the Hoff is canon.
Starting point is 00:50:02 Yeah. Bacon is canon. Um, Star Wars is canon because of the whole, you guys remember that, and so was aliens. Yeah. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:50:10 yeah, that really old movie with a, uh, with the, the, the walking thingy. Somebody, somebody,
Starting point is 00:50:16 somebody killed this kid. Somebody, somebody shut the kid up. There is no world where Peter Parker would not know the actual name of an AT-A-T also. That always bothered me. It bothered me too. There is no way that this nerd who went to go make a giant Death Star Lego set does not know what Empire Strikes Back is. And I think that that just goes to show you introduced the character before you got his movie. And I think it just meant that like it was a funny thing that was written in there.
Starting point is 00:50:47 but you didn't get like even knowing Peter Parker in the comics there's no way that he wouldn't know what Empire Strikes Back was but but I think that that's where it was like oh the person that was meant to like give us Spider-Man wasn't fully there yet like shout out to the Russo's I'm not I'm not knocking the Russo at all like they did a fantastic job with Civil War and everything they've done so far with the MCU but um it was clear once John Watts got it John Watts was like no no no no his best friend and him billed Lego sets of Star
Starting point is 00:51:17 Wars. They know what an ad-at is. But which I call them AT-A-T's. I would be honest with you. I don't. I always say AT-A-T. At-at always makes me feel silly. It feels weird because I don't call it an AT-Sat. Like, you know what I'm saying? It's an A-T-S-T. Yeah. So I would therefore use the same naming or like convention for the other version of that. Yeah. That's just me. This whole at-at thing is very weird. Same. But, you know, Star Wars fans are so. normal all the time.
Starting point is 00:51:48 No one's going to drag us at all. Yeah. No, not a single person's going to say, I can't believe Christ said the letters. He said it outside. What a bitch. See, already happening. Word, Unk. I'm already getting called Unk again.
Starting point is 00:52:09 This is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. So that's actually also funny. ATSs are actually called chickenwalkers. Didn't know that. Did not know that. But let us know what to think. Where are you at with Wonder Man?
Starting point is 00:52:26 Are you excited about it? Will you be sitting there? Day one? Okay, let's get these last two stories super quick. Vikings Valhalla Star, Frida Gustafson, confirms interest in playing Wonder Woman. We recently learned that DC Studios and James Gunner looking to cast Wonder Woman for the upcoming Superman sequel
Starting point is 00:52:43 Man of tomorrow. This month marks three years. since the studio announced its chapter one gods and monsters slate and us now being in 26 also means that we're nearly three years had passed since Galgado last played Diana Prince. The
Starting point is 00:52:57 actress had cameo roles in 2023 Shazam Fear of the Gods and the Flash and filmmaker Patty Jenkins was gearing up to make Wonder Woman three before DC Studios pulled a plug on that project and Goddow's time as the Amazonian warrior. Now with the hunt on to find an actress to headline
Starting point is 00:53:13 the Wonder Woman movie currently being written by Supergirls and a negera. All eyes are on gunned to see who he picks for the DCU's take on the iconic character. It can be established actress or a relative unknown, though based on the other roles filled for the franchise so far, and most likely won't be an A-lister. Freda Gustafson, 32, is a Swedish actor and former model, best known for playing Frey does,
Starting point is 00:53:37 in the Netflix historical drama series, Vikings Valhalla. Her other credits include Dampier, the Inspector in the Sea, and the Witcher. As you can see below, Gostovson has confirmed her interest in potentially playing Wonder Woman, and for all we know, she'll be among those given the chance to audition for Mano Tomorrow. Gunn has previously said that casting is a very tall woman is off the table because it limits the possibilities. So it remains to be seen whether whoever is picked has their stature enhanced by the effects.
Starting point is 00:54:07 Either way, with darker hair, Gostovson would arguably look the part, and we're sure she's just going to be first of many actresses who throw their hat in the ring for this highly sought after role in the coming months. Gunrelli comments on fancast, but did acknowledge last year that Andor star, Andrea Adrona, um, would be a fitting choice for the Themyscaryan warrior.
Starting point is 00:54:28 I follow her on Instagram, but everybody came out and said, he just followed her. That means she's a wonderful woman. She'll be a great one or a woman, by the way. She was in a movie that I made seven years ago. We've been friends. I've known each other since that time.
Starting point is 00:54:42 I followed her then. I just didn't follow her. Um, word. Okay. Um, super quick. What do you think? Are you familiar with Miss, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, got a little bit. So Logan is a huge Vikings fan. And so he's watched some of, uh, the newer series and everything as well. And then I had to go look up where I was like, Witcher, who were you on Witcher? Oh, okay. So I haven't seen too much of her work. That being said, she's ticking some boxes of, she's six one. I know that'll make a lot of people happy. I mean, it makes me happy instantly. Yeah. If you go to her Wikipedia page, the photo there too, where she's got a darker blonde here. It's like a light brown kind of thing. It has very big Linda Carter vibes. Yes, it does. She looks a lot like her. And, you know.
Starting point is 00:55:29 Very much looks like Linda Carter. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Like spitting image. Not that Linda Carter is dead. She's alive. But yeah. They have to share that same cute, tiny little nose. As long as, and this is what we've said for everyone, too. If she's going to bulk up, right? If we're going to have a Wonder Woman who looks like she can kick ass, then I'm fine.
Starting point is 00:55:53 You know, Vikings is a show that has incredible, incredible acting. It is horrifically violent, all iterations of it. But it's got beautiful, nuanced moments to really big emotion. arcs and everything as well. And if you can handle that content, I feel like, you know, becoming a DC superhero, you can definitely give us some really great depth to Diana. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:14 Ultimately, though, you know, I feel like we just keep hearing all of these names. There's still no one who I'm absolutely, this has to be my Wonder Woman. I always trust the casting process for the most part. It's nice to just see a whole bunch of different people's name in the ring. I still think, you know, Arona would probably be pretty dang good, though. Yeah, no, no, no. I think our Hon. It would be fantastic.
Starting point is 00:56:38 But yes, I think it's just a matter of, you know, kind of figuring out who works best. That's the main thing. Hold on one second. Okay, sorry. So, yeah, no, I think, I think, I'm just curious to see where it goes. I think the correct answer is no A-listers. Yeah. I think, I think make the, make the Trinity know A-listers.
Starting point is 00:57:04 If you want to do that for maybe some of the smaller characters so you can bring more attention to them, I'll give you that. But I think the Trinity, by letting them have that moment, you're both, A, giving that actor that opportunity to, like, make it. But also, B, I'm not going, hey, that's George Clooney. That's George Clooney. You see George Clooney?
Starting point is 00:57:25 George Clooney is Batman. George Clooney. Like, instead, you're just like, oh, who is this guy? Because, like, anybody that's been thrown the ring, they haven't hit yet. They may, that you may have heard of them or you may have seen something that they're in, like, oh God, what's his name that was in drop that people keep, uh, Jensen? Oh, Brandon Skalsguard. No.
Starting point is 00:57:44 Yes, Scars Guard. Brandon Scalar. Yes. Brandon Scalar. There we go. Scalar. There's too many. Jesus.
Starting point is 00:57:49 Yes. There's too many. Most good for that. Brandon Scalar. Yes. He is not there yet. You know what I'm saying? Um, and so I, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm here for that.
Starting point is 00:58:00 Um, that would put him on and he is not well known enough to, to go George Clooney. George Clooney. George Clooney. It's a jackal. A jackal. A jackal. I hope anybody remembers that family guy. But let us know what you're thinking about Wonder Woman. In this last story, we want to talk about solo leveling.
Starting point is 00:58:18 Solo leveling's hunt for Netflix. It might be shorter than expected. Mark Julian. New details have emerged about Netflix's live action solo leveling adaptation, suggesting the series is prioritizing a quality over quantity approach for its debut. According to the latest reports, the first season is expected to feature just seven episodes for comparison. The anime's
Starting point is 00:58:37 first season from A1 Pictures ran for 12 episodes underscoreing Netflix's more streamlined plan for the live action version. Let's see. Here's a tweet about it. The series will start filming April of 2026 and stars Yon Wu Suu as Song Jin Wu and Han
Starting point is 00:58:56 So he as Cha Haiin. Sorry I do not speak Korean very well. solo leveling Netflix, live action, seven episodes, 2026. Now, before fans jump to conclusion that Netflix is speeding through the material, it's worth putting the episode counted in proper context. The anime's first season ran for 12 episodes, but each installment average just 20 to 25 minutes.
Starting point is 00:59:19 By contrast, while nothing has been officially confirmed, Netflix's live action adaptations typically allow for much longer run times, often landing somewhere between 40 and 75 minutes per episode. For example, the live action Yu Haku Show series consisted of only five episodes, each running roughly 40 to 55 minutes. I didn't realize there was a live action New Hocke show. I guess I know what I'm going to be watching
Starting point is 00:59:40 over the next few days when I finish my scandal rewatch. While One Piece, season one regularly exceeded the 60 minute mark across its eight episodes, given the difference in pacing and runtime, it's entirely plausible that the first season of the live action of some of the leveling adaptation can cover story arcs that didn't appear until season two of the anime, despite having fewer episodes on paper. Stay tuned for more details.
Starting point is 01:00:00 All right, I'm trying to remember. Have you watched solo leveling? Yes. Okay. I love it. It is fantastic. And I have been telling so many people they need to stop what they're doing and watch solo leveling. Like it is colossally good.
Starting point is 01:00:20 Like chefs kiss good. Oh, yeah. So I am very, very here for it. If they're able to nail it, man. and I think you need you need a little bit of the mojo from Dungeons and Dragons the Honor Among Thieves movie just like a little bit of that
Starting point is 01:00:40 and then otherwise just follow the anime straight up and just go full tilt and I think this could be just gangbusters like I have actually made a D&D character after Sung Jin Wu which is hilarious because like trying to do the build properly that I have all the abilities that he has. It's kind of hard because he apparently just, even though he is like a quote unquote
Starting point is 01:01:02 necromancer, he's a little bit of everything. He's a Rome. He's a warrior. He's like a necromancer. Like, he's a maids. Like, it's a sorcerer. It's very frustrating trying to pinpoint that man down, man. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:15 He's getting pretty OPE'd. And it's fun, though. It works out really, really well. We don't have, you know, like, a Peter Petrelli situation happening. It's just, it makes sense because he's, leveling up as we go. How do you feel, though, about this being less episodes than what the anime has?
Starting point is 01:01:33 I think the explanation of we have longer episodes kind of works with that and it also doesn't. I think it works in the sense of like, okay, well, then the runtime's kind of add up, but narratively, the way you write and produce stories hits a little different of
Starting point is 01:01:51 we're knocking everything out we need to say in 20, 25 minutes versus we're doing and 45 certain beats just don't rock as well to not have a break if that makes sense. Absolutely. The only thing I can really kind of cling to here is there is so much seeming redundancy because it is grinding, right? It is just how do I level up? How do I level up?
Starting point is 01:02:13 Let me clear this dungeon. Let me do this. And I think you can, you know, condense some of that or, you know, like make those montages or however you want to do them. I still want to see all of those incredible fights because they're badass as hell. But then we can dive a little bit more too into. some of those character moments that animas can convey really beautifully with just like a glance between two characters. And I'm not saying live action doesn't do that either. But sometimes we just go,
Starting point is 01:02:36 oh, no, I know this relationship in that form more than we do for live action. So I'm wondering if that'll be another thing that kind of like mess around with those beats on. No, absolutely. So, you know, it's all going to be about balance. And I am just curious to see how they balance the scales here one way or the other. I think that will be the true test of how this goes down one way or the other. But again, let us know what you're thinking about this live action solo leveling if you're going to be watching and where you are at on all of that. And before we get to the second part of our show where we go through your questions, all the super chats and whatnot, keep sending those in, by the way. I have to ask Ms. Chris Carr, what are you going to?
Starting point is 01:03:23 got going on on your channel in your studio what should people know about in the new year should they be excited oh well two filthy casuals is on a little bit of a break for the holidays but you can always go check us out wherever you get your podcast we've got so much fun stuff over there where you can check out a different fandom maybe something that you're not familiar with and dip your toe in sans judgment ask some questions learn some things it's fun time uh at two filthy casuals pod on youtube or again any place where you get your podcast you can also find us on patreon if you'd like bonus where Amy and I are very unhinged together, and that is also at Two Filty Casuals Pod over on Patreon. If you want to work with me on voiceover, go to speakfriendstudio.com.
Starting point is 01:04:02 We are going to have new intro to VO classes coming in February. I've got to put those on our website soon. And we're actually going to start doing video on demand content because y'all have so many bills to pay, inflation, the world is crazy. I want to try to find more ways to get people voiceover information without putting the bank. So stay tuned for that. If that is more your speed, if you don't want the actual. interactive instruction and you just want to do video modules, Logan and I are working on that.
Starting point is 01:04:27 We're really excited about it. Fantastic. And for myself, you know where to find me at the Swaggy Blurt on all platforms. Some of the stuff that I have going on right now on my YouTube channel, the Blurred breakdown will make its return on a Monday. So definitely be there for that. I have not put out my 2025 lists. I'm working on that today and tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:04:52 So you're going to get a few videos next week. Anybody that's a member, members get access to those videos earlier than regular folks. But you can take your time. I am also, let me double check here. Is it this day? Yes. So part of the thing for my members as well, I've got exclusive streams for members only. That first one will be most likely, I'm not called away on,
Starting point is 01:05:22 Ironically, my dad's birthday, the 11th, Sunday the 11th. We'll do a members-only stream that day. So you want to check that out as well. So a lot of stuff going on, check all that out. But the thing that I'm, what, spilled the tequila on Tuesdays with Roka, I think I'm most excited about. We just did another Blurds going to feud, a black family feud for the holidays. It is still up for now.
Starting point is 01:05:42 It will be going private soon. And then that will be behind members and Patreon stuff. But Blurds in the hood, check that out. That shit was hilarious. And then here every week. And then Christian and I, again, Christian is in L.A. right now. So when he gets back, we'll start doing our reactions again. Whether or not we do Demon Slayer, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:06:05 Christian and I said we were going to talk about it come January. So we will let you know on that. So yeah, let's get into the questions. Again, the goal is 108 is what we're trying to hit. We're at a solid 20 right now. We still got 45 minutes. So that's plenty of time. Before we get into it,
Starting point is 01:06:22 I really wanted to point this out from Kingsport Cowell that had me dying. He said solo leveling sounds like some weird sex night. That's what I thought. Every time someone talked about it before, where I was like, that sounds like some quality time with you and just you.
Starting point is 01:06:37 It sounds like, exactly, it's me, myself, and I, that's all I got in the end. And now I found out that there ain't no need to cry, because I'm going to tell you from now on, I'm going to be my own best friend. Sorry, I just got in a full Beyonce moment right there. Peter Clon, 2986, Happy New Year's crew.
Starting point is 01:06:56 I got a PS5 for Christmas. You lucky bastard. First priority is Final Fantasy 7 rebirth, but I need recommendations. The Spider-Man games, I am so upset that I don't have a PS5, so I could not play Spider-Man too. When I was cat sitting, like a month or two ago, I guess it's been almost three months out. Jesus. my boy has a PS5 and I was like I just got Spardman too I guess I could just play it a little bit
Starting point is 01:07:22 I should not have done that because I got like 14 or 15 hours into the game and now I have been feigning four months to play it and I was like can I just borrow your PS5 and it's like no you cannot borrow my PS5 so I would say the Spider-Man two game I had like I don't remember did it win game of the year
Starting point is 01:07:43 I know the first one did it I believe I don't think this one did. Spider-Man 2 video game. Well, you were looking that up. I'm going to, yes, and. Yeah, definitely get the Spider-Man games. Get clear, obscure.
Starting point is 01:07:57 That game is stunning and heartbreaking and so fun. I don't know if this is actually like something you can play just across other platforms, but we've been playing that seafood game. Okay. Which is really fun and cool. Yeah. Answer to the question, it was nominated. It was beat out by Boulder K-3.
Starting point is 01:08:16 Oh, that makes sense. Which makes sense. I'd never played ball for K-3, but I heard plenty of stuff. But it was in a lot of categories and it won a bunch of stuff, but it lost out just, just a little bit to bold this game. But, oh, God, I was having so much fun with that game. It's so good. Just release everything for everything. That'd be nice.
Starting point is 01:08:36 But, oh, man, you're going to have so much fun with Final Fantasy 7 rebirth. It's stunning. Yeah, I'm excited because they, you didn't. need a PS5 anymore. They just, they just, I think it just dropped or it's about to drop at the end of this month. The Final Fantasy 7 remade games are coming out for Xbox. So like, I've already preordered it and it's dropping at some point this month. I'm currently in the middle of a Fallout 4 replay because I didn't finish it last time because I was doing it to get an anticipation of Fallout and I'm losing a lot of hours. Like I am, I am like, now I finally
Starting point is 01:09:12 got the perk where you can have your supply lines so now I can like repair my armor at all the different places. And I'm running to every damn farm to be like, you don't have a job? You are now my traitor. You take your ass to this thing so I can use all my goddamn equipment. It's just, oh, God. Maybe I need to stream that because I will sit there forever.
Starting point is 01:09:32 You should. We were thinking I just, I got it for Christmas by Sweet Carol. And we were like, oh, we should stream this. We'll, like, play through a little bit of it first. I'm so glad we're not. I'm having the hardest time. It is so difficult. It's so pretty.
Starting point is 01:09:44 It's a 2D animation. It's like Don Bluth, but horror. and oh, it's kicking my ass. I've logged too many hours already, and it's just a side-scroller. The other thing that's been messing me up is, so my sister got me this for my birthday. It's actually, for those that are looking at it,
Starting point is 01:10:04 it's not a Game Boycolor. This is an emulator, and it has like 11,000, 12,000 games on this ho. I have been playing Pokemon Fire Red. I have been obsessed with, with Pokemon Fire Red. And, like, trying to remember, like, setting up my best team and everything. And, like, oh, I got to have the balance of the movesets and all that.
Starting point is 01:10:25 So, like, I've lost a lot of time. I've lost a lot of time, Chris. Yeah. I feel you, buddy. It's okay. Time well spent. It's time well spent. Hey, Mr. Sejai.
Starting point is 01:10:37 I don't know why I said it like that. Happy New Year, capes and cows, roll out. Hashtag I wish I knew. I wish I knew. At Winston, you're an action star. Man, he hit all of the greats. I appreciate that, Mrs. C.J. SMC.K. 277.
Starting point is 01:10:59 Happy 2026. Looking forward to all the great things ahead in the new year and beyond grateful to be part of such a dedicated and passionate community, much love. Well, thank you, SM. That's so nice. Or S. McCabe. Oh, that's what it is.
Starting point is 01:11:11 It's S. McCabe. SMC.C.C.C.77. Oh, God. YouTube, let us see people's names again. So silly. This is so dumb. Israel Zerg, happy New Year guys. Live action solo leveling.
Starting point is 01:11:27 Sign me up. The most anticipated shows in anime now are both One Piece Season 2, both live action and anime. Yes, I heard that One Piece Season 1 after 1,150-something episodes is officially ended and we're on to season two. You love to see it. Oh, man. Israel, Zirk, if they keep the movies in theaters at the same time as streaming, could work for us people not watching everything on release. Definitely not the best.
Starting point is 01:11:56 You're definitely going to have to, but the one problem is as they do that, and then as a number of people just say, I will just watch it at home, that is going to shrink until it is gone. Because that is the game plan, because they don't want to do that. Um, so the only way you can guarantee some level of box office and to keep stuff alive, that is why it is set up the way that it is now.
Starting point is 01:12:26 It needs to have X amount of window in theaters before you even sniff, uh, a streamer in all honesty. But, you know, I don't know. If you can do it with the press, like how, how early do sometimes we get screenings to these movies and shit? If you can do it with the press, what's to say you can't do it for the say at home people. The stay at home people will still get to see the damn thing. Like, just let it be in theaters for a while. Who is it hurting?
Starting point is 01:12:48 Nobody is like, man, bro. I'm just so upset that Sinners was in theaters for so long and I didn't have time to go. And I got to wait even longer now to be able to see it on streaming. If I didn't find the time to go see it, I'm just fine waiting until it comes out on streaming. Yeah. Dumb. Super Duda Dumb. Yoshimitsu, on a happier theater note, who knew that Batman begins is back in
Starting point is 01:13:14 theaters this weekend. I did not. I love the growing trend of re-releasing great older movies. I also love that trend. Yeah. Both for the little kid in me that maybe saw that stuff and didn't really appreciate the films as much as I would have back in the day, or the movies that I didn't get to see in theaters that I now get to finally say I saw on the big screen is also the main reason for that too, because I don't remember seeing Batman begins in theaters. I know I did, but I don't remember. I remember Dark Night and Dark Night Rises, especially Dark Night. I saw Dark Night in theaters like five or six times. One of the few movies I've seen in theaters that many times.
Starting point is 01:13:48 I do not remember Batman Begin, so I might have to see if I have, well, I got to go see Avatar first guy. Don't want to see it. Just don't care. How do you feel about bringing back older movies to theaters, Chris? Oh, I love it. I love it so much.
Starting point is 01:14:04 I mean, you guys know I'm a huge Lord of the Rings fan and those are going to be back in theaters. I love seeing those there. And that way, too, like I get to see movies that I wasn't alive for that are some of my favorite movies to see in a theater. Like, Logan and I went and saw the Muppet movie at the El Capitan. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:20 With Piggy and Kermit coming out before the movie and singing Rainbow Connection. Aw. Yeah, that'll do it. Like that kind of stuff, that's magical. That's so incredible. A thousand percent. Speaking of just like older magical stuff. So I think a lot of people here knew this.
Starting point is 01:14:36 My fiancé had not finished the MCU or not the original Infinity Saga run. Well, yesterday, we watched Endgame for the new year. Like, we couldn't get it done at the end of the year, but we thought, what a great way to start the year. So we watched Endgame, and she loved it. She definitely had, like, her moments, like, the minute, she loves Captain Marvel, you know, despite all of the neckbeards that are like, Brilarsall's a double.
Starting point is 01:15:04 Like, she loves Captain Marvel. And so when she showed up and immediately destroys Thanos his ship, she's like, that's a girl. Like, she, like, stood up and, like, said that. And then like when she, it's like, you know, Peter's like, how are you going to get through it? And then all of a sudden, like, she's got help. She was like, okay, ladies. Like she was, she was like, yes.
Starting point is 01:15:24 Like, all of a sudden. So it was, it was a good time for all. That's amazing. I love that. Which is funny. I still love that moment, but I can't unhear the boys. Girls get it done. Like I can't.
Starting point is 01:15:35 Oh, a thousand percent. Yeah. Both things can be true. I can love that moment. And the boys could have really read them for Phil. that it makes sense. I mean, they've read every moment for Phil, both good and bad. That's true. That's true.
Starting point is 01:15:48 Like, I mean, what's the imagined song? Like, oh, my God. Maddie Watt, what do you guys think of the Aeroverse? Started me watching Arrow again and forgot how much I enjoyed it. Hope we see Green Arrow in the D.C.U. I loved the Aeroverse, personally. It got a little campy at points, but it did what it was supposed to do. I really thought it was good.
Starting point is 01:16:08 I was a big fan. I really, really loved it. Fun fact, Logan and I both auditioned. for several parts on there. Whoa. Yeah. Logan read to be Barry Allen and we were like, that's not a good fit. Well, yeah, having met Logan, no.
Starting point is 01:16:29 No, I could have. That's not for him. No, no, no, no. Maybe Roy and Green Arrow in Arrow, I think he would have been a good Roy. Because Roy had a lot of anger. He would have been, yeah, elongated. man. He would have crushed. Crush that too. Because Logan's not an angry dude, but he, but, but he reminds me of that guy on TikTok that like, I think his name is like, uh,
Starting point is 01:16:53 Alex Perlman, um, who like kind of always like yells like when political things are stupid. Like, again, Logan is not innately an angry person, but he gives me that, that energy that he could be that angry white guy. So like I, that's, that's why that's why I think that that would work really well, He's a loud boy. He's very loud. But also, like, his favorite archetype is affable nitwit. And so that's kind of what he was hoping with the Barry Allen stuff. But he was like, no, I'm not earnest enough for this guy.
Starting point is 01:17:23 I'm just, like, genuinely like, oh, hey. Yeah, exactly. Hold on. Let me see if I can, let me see if I can find a, now that I've brought up Alex Proman, if I can find, like, one thing of his. Okay, here we go. This will work. this is this is kind of what i okay now i know who you're talking about oh i can't hear him though
Starting point is 01:17:52 okay i mean i need to get the political side of things but like that that that that that's the energy i sometimes read off of him so i definitely was like yeah no i think i genuinely think he would have been um i think he'd play a great lex luther i think i think your man would play a fantastic which is funny because he is a very sweet sweet guy but then also But when you told when you even told me the story of how he got with you and he like apparently was like pseudo plotting and shit, I was like, you super villain ass bitch. Yes. 100%. Oh my goodness. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 01:18:45 Movie Man Show. Thank you so much for becoming a member. Appreciate you. Christopher A.O.2. Hey, y'all. Happy New Year. Love all what you do. Please keep doing it.
Starting point is 01:18:57 I beg. I, does learning and practicing voice acting exercises in its techniques help public speaking or just speaking on a video like y'all? Thanks again. Salute. It helps with all of it. It helps with all of it. Acting classes, I think, are wonderful for everyone, regardless of whether or not you want to do any acting. The great thing about voiceover is it is a very specific type of medium that is so focused on your speech, making words sound like what they mean, which I know sounds obvious, but you would be surprised how many people treat it as voice reading, not voice acting. It can really help you. Just feel more. more confident talking to folks, taking your time, standing in your power. I think it's really great. And it also helps you learn empathy and other people's perspectives. So acting is great for everyone. A thousand percent, a thousand percent.
Starting point is 01:19:43 Massive support from Lori Narwin. Thank you so much for that large super chat. My biggest fear about Netflix makes me wish Paramount would have been more successful. The movie theater chains need to try and fight this. My fondest memory growing up was going to see. of Khan Khan in the theater with my mom. What's your favorite? Oh, growing up theater experience?
Starting point is 01:20:07 Ooh. You know, the one that I think probably sticks out in my head the most would either be the midnight release of X-Men 3, The Last Stand, which is not a good movie, but that that experience is very in my head growing up, because I would have been like a like a young teenager at that time. If not that, it's probably I was a kid when the original Power Rangers movie came out. I just remember going to see that. I remember it would happen to be on Fourth of July when we went and the movie ends with them seeing fireworks after they beat Ivan Hughes.
Starting point is 01:20:50 Then I walked outside and there were fireworks. And I was visiting New Orleans at the time. I was just like, oh my God, the Power Rangers just saved the day. Like I just, yeah, that was, that's probably mine. I love that movie so much. Right. It's so, eight ball, quarter pocket. Like, it's so stupid.
Starting point is 01:21:05 But I loved every second of it. Did you already say yours? Am I, that might be in? Oh, no, my kids, when I was growing up, one, probably, I know, I know people, including myself, aren't, like, crazy about the Star Wars prequels, but my dad took my brother and I to, like, camp out to go see, like, that midnight release over at Tinsletown and the Woodlands of, uh, of attack of the clones. And that was incredible.
Starting point is 01:21:27 It was so fun. Absolutely. Which real quick, Princess Positive, Winston, I also went to a minute I short of X3. My boyfriend at the time was so annoyed of people having fun of the movie theater. Should have dumped him sooner than I did. Yeah, if you're poop-pooing somebody having fun, like, the only thing that I would say in that regard that I'm now that I'm becoming a tanker's old man, if it's a scenario where you're actively making life miserable for. for other people. So like if there's like a K-pop Demon Hunter's sing-along version and you go to the one where
Starting point is 01:22:01 people are trying to sit, like it's literally across the hall. You can hear people singing, right? And you're in the quiet one. Be like, da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da. And I'm like, there is literally that is over there. Go over there. Yeah. But if it's, but you're at a midnight showing, that is four people that are so excited about
Starting point is 01:22:20 this, they're going to lose their shit. So like, yeah, let people like enjoy life. Leave them alone. If the person you're dating doesn't like other people having fun or is one of those people who does this at waiters, you dump them immediately. If you're hitting one of these, hell no. Hell no. My favorite is whenever people do that when I was bartending, because bartenders can get away with more shit. You can't get away with as much as a waiter because they're the manager now.
Starting point is 01:22:51 Bartender, they expect us to be assholes and we have the thing you want. And if worst case you know, you try and come at me, I go and tell my supervisor, you're drunk, and they cut you off anyway. So they'd tend to be bartenders alone. But if somebody would snap at me to come over, I'd walk up and go, and then, like, in their face and then walk by and go do something else. And they'd be like, what the fuck? I'm like, oh, it's not nice, huh, is it? Cool. I didn't care.
Starting point is 01:23:16 So, Michael, DA81, support. Happy to you, you're both. Thank you so much, Michael. Well, Yoshimitsu, WandaVision and Agatha are both top 10 MCU for me, so I'm definitely excited for Vision Quest. Agatha is the thing I've rewatched the most since Phase 1. Wow. I need to rewatch it again. I really, really liked that show.
Starting point is 01:23:36 I thought that it was well done. I like the tonal shifts, the character study with everybody. I thought, similar to Wanda Vision, the tonal shifts that happened. I think that's part of what kept it fresh and interesting. Absolutely. No. Ray Dominguez, I hope Wonder Man is good. And for the record, I did not hate She-Hulk, but I wagered this show will be received similarly.
Starting point is 01:23:58 I remain hopeful, though. Yeah. That's my concern. I think it's going to be treated the same way that She-Hulk and Iron Heart were. I think that those were both good shows. They had issues, but I thought that they were both good. I think they get pippooed on a little bit too much. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:17 And I am worried about it. I would like Wonder Man to do well. I'm not going to sit here and pretend like I'm not, as Issa Ra said, rooting for everybody black because I am. So I want Yaya to do well. But I am also, there's just a little bit too much writing on the wall the way that they're releasing this. That's got me nervous. That's totally fair.
Starting point is 01:24:39 Unheard Siren Incorporated. I'm also team ATAT, not at-at. Yep. Yep. I was like, what the hell is an 8? Oh, I see. I see. Going phonetic. Thank you. Thank you for that, because you know I can't read. The G-Man 819. I have trouble pronouncing things. Someone will clip out me saying I can't read it. It's going to be a whole thing.
Starting point is 01:25:07 This is your Leah Michelle year now. My Floyd-Madeweather, as much as I've made fun of Floyd Mayweather, as a matter of fact, on Blurts in the Hood, we have a, we have our, like, the way that they go cock, like we have that, the memes. And one of them is 50 cent going, like, talking shit to Floyd May, whether it'd be like,
Starting point is 01:25:29 if you could read one page of a Harry Potter book, I'll send $75,000 to any charity if you'll choose it. And, like, like, just screaming that in someone's face. And so anytime somebody mispronounces something, we just play that because it's like, oh, you can't read. There you go. the G-man's most anticipated of 26 in no particular order. Daredevil, Doomsday Spider-Man, Vision Quest, and Criminal.
Starting point is 01:25:53 Yeah, the criminal and the four, what was it, the four? Oh, shoot. I've already blanked on a bank. And a bank heister, bank. Something like four kids walk into a bank, which sounds like to set up to an improv. 185 kids walk into a bank. Bank teller says, sorry, we don't see. serve kids here and the kids go six seven i don't i don't i don't know i got i got nothing
Starting point is 01:26:22 bro um be gill studios i'm the most anticipated for daredevil invincible lannins the boys the punisher spider man and doomsday nice i like that list i like that i like that i like that list i respect it um christopher a o two don't think we're ever get a vinland a vinland saga season three soon. I need it badly. Do I know what Finland is? Vinland? Vinland? I don't think. Saga, like the saga? Comics? Or?
Starting point is 01:26:54 Vinland saga? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Vinland saga. Oh, okay. No, I didn't know about this. I guess it is, I guess it is an anime slash manga. Did not know about this. Okay. Okay. I'll check it out. The orphan's journey from a bloodthirsty youth seeking vengeance against his father's killer. Great. Hell yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:13 Love it. Let's go. good vengeance. Love it. Armada, where the hell did the D&D Paramount show go? There was a D&D Paramount show? I was just about to say it. The same thing? Yeah, just, huh? Er. Okay, so two years ago, this is, oh, deadline, great. Dungeon and Dragons live action series not going forward at Paramount Plus will be revamped and shopped by Hasbro.
Starting point is 01:27:44 Word. I guess it got axed. Oh, well. All right. That answers that question. Yoshimitsu, just to be clear, ATSTs aren't actually called chicken walkers. That was just something my dad said to make me laugh in the theater when I was little.
Starting point is 01:28:01 That's funny. Oh, that's cute. That's real cute. Wiley, have you guys watched any sort out online or re-zero both really good animas? I have not, but you have. Watch sword out online. I have not watched re-zero. So,
Starting point is 01:28:14 but turnover line was good. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I, I, I've heard good things about it.
Starting point is 01:28:20 I just have never sat down and, and watched the damn thing. But, like, you know, there's a very, very loyal fan base of sound.
Starting point is 01:28:26 Oh, yeah. Armada, too filthy and blurts crossover. What would the topic be? That's a great question. Ooh. I would need to know more
Starting point is 01:28:35 about your, your co-host before I could even figure that out, I guess, you know? About Amy? Oh, we share a brain cell.
Starting point is 01:28:42 That was the young lady I met at the premiere, right? No, that's Megan. That's Megan. Yeah. No, Amy is a stand-up and improviser as well. Oh, okay. And we always joke that she has like, like, banana grams anxiety. And I'm just like a thunder blanket.
Starting point is 01:29:02 I'm just like, I don't, why would I be worked up about anything? I can't think about the future. It's just the Lakeinta music playing in here. where she's like Oh, those commercials Her it was just La la la da da da da da da da Like that's what's playing in here
Starting point is 01:29:20 It's just tumbleweeds in that Well that's hilarious Because the song that always plays in my head Unless something gets caught in there is Avocados from Mexico For some damn reason That is the song that just plays in a loop in my brain What's great is that's going to pop up
Starting point is 01:29:39 so much for me today. And I'm going to be happy each time and just be like, Avagados for Mexico. I'm 41, 81. Happy news. Oh, God. Okay. Well, I think after this, now that that's stuck in my head,
Starting point is 01:29:59 I have to go get a breakfast burrito. But I'm probably going to sit at the whole walk over. Avagados, so much, iko. Okay. Happy New Year, anime-wise, this year. I'm looking forward to the second season of Frienne's end. Yes.
Starting point is 01:30:12 of Witch Hunter at Lear. Yeah, no. I have not seen a free friend. How do you pronounce it? Freeran? I think. That sounds right. I haven't seen it.
Starting point is 01:30:24 So I am not familiar. But again, I also heard that there's a lot of people that rock with that. So I'm here for it. Oh, yeah. Especially as somebody who plays D&D, I think you'll really like it. Because it kind of feels like when you get to revisit an old campaign or think about those old times with your friends is kind of how it's set up just because Freerun is this elf who's lived hundreds and hundreds of years. So her idea of time starts kind of getting challenged of like why human moments are so important.
Starting point is 01:30:53 Okay. Awesome. It's beautiful. I think what I'm most anticipated for is Jiu-Jitsu Kaysen comes back soon. I don't know when. But I know it's dropping soon. I got to binge. I got to binge through it all.
Starting point is 01:31:07 Yeah. I'm just so disappointed in One Punch Man season three. man it was it was real bad like they they they they strip the budget because like the fights just look horrible and like i guess the other part of it is it was cool to see a lot of the s class heroes um do their thing but the lack of sitemah showing up and i get part of the whole gimmick is like you know oh my god this thread is crazy this dirt is crazy and here he comes one punch it's over there was something really funny about that first season where like once an episode or at least once every two episodes
Starting point is 01:31:46 it'd be like no bro this is the greatest monster of all time we're really screwed here and then he pops in and saves the day all the s class heroes it was good to know how strong they were but like they didn't necessarily struggle that hard when they fought so like when he finally did do his thing i was like okay like i i don't know like it bums me out because everybody that's read the the manga has been like no the pacing on it and how they do everything is so much better than the show um so i i fell off i haven't watched it since season one and i loved it i don't know why i didn't keep going but that's unfortunate
Starting point is 01:32:24 because the second season is eh and the third season is so um you know it would probably be a little bit better if you added a little avocados from Mexico. So, Ray DeVicquez. So you guys put me on demons layer and I could not get through it fast enough. Dope. I did however miss the Infinity Castle in theaters. Do we yet know when it will be
Starting point is 01:32:44 available for home theaters? I thought it was already streaming. I thought so too. Let me double check that. Oh, no. Possibly around January or February is what we're getting. Because yeah, it's still in a couple theaters. It's still in a couple of theaters, which is why I kind of want to, I need Christian to make a decision.
Starting point is 01:33:10 Because if he's, if he's serious about not finishing per se, then I kind of want to go watch it somewhere. Yeah. If it's possible. It's a good time. I'd like to see it on the screen. But, you know, it is what it is. The G. Meng, say, Stranger Thing finale, loved it.
Starting point is 01:33:28 As for Renona Ryder's look, wasn't she shooting Beetlejuice 2 at the same time? That might be why they kind of just like, add her in. A lot. But what I mean by that, you guys, like, everyone else is just, like, haggard. They have sweat and grime and all this on them. And Joyce is just like, I'm here, maybe. Let's do some stuff. Like, she's just so rosy.
Starting point is 01:33:55 It's, let me get, like, a good image of her without ruining anything. Let's see. Oh, yeah, this one kind of works. I think. Here we go. Oh, how do I? I'll add that here maybe. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:34:18 Like, she, everybody else is like kind of torn down of like who you're looking at. And she literally looks like she just stepped fresh out of her trailer, out of the shower. Like, good to kick some ass. You know what I mean? And like, whereas everybody's like covered in blood and probably a little hurt. And she's just like, you mess with the wrong fit. Going full. a name from Harry Potter.
Starting point is 01:34:40 Not my daughter, you bitch. I love that line so much. It's so good. It's so good. The G-man typos. I should have said sausage things. Oh, we mean what you know, man. And we know what you mean. Ah, ha, ha, I see what you did there. Damn, you good, girl. You so good.
Starting point is 01:35:02 Christopher A.O. Winston, is a fallout fan boy. You need to try New Vegas. I have. It's one of my favorites. It's backwards compatible on Xbox, and most fans, including at me argue it's the best in the series. Yes, I just, I'm one of those people that if a game has introduced new features, it's sometimes hard for me to go backwards unless I started there. If I had started with replaying New Vegas before I started playing four, I think I would have probably been like full gung-ho,
Starting point is 01:35:28 but like there's a lot of really cool elements they added to four that I just enjoy the sandbox level of it all that like I think that New Vegas is the best story of all the fallouts. but I'm just like really entrenched in for now and all the stuff that I'm doing. So it's not to say that I won't go back to it. I thought the dealing with Mr. House was ridiculous. Did you play New Vegas? I didn't play the games at all. So like the series has been super new to me because I just have friends who like tertiary would tell me about it.
Starting point is 01:35:57 Girl, you got to do it. It is so good. I would say you can like, Fallout 3 is really good too. But I'm saying you could probably skip that and just jump straight into New Vegas. It is so good. And as an RPG person, you'll love it. Just understand. I don't remember.
Starting point is 01:36:15 Do you also have ADHD? Or is it just me? I think it's just you. Logan has it in spades. Okay. Well, don't let him play it. Because when I tell you, he will go into a full, like, a hyper focus into the game.
Starting point is 01:36:28 We're like, babe, you've been sitting there for 18 hours. Go to bed. No, I just got to, I just got to get, I just got to get the rest of these teams. tin cans, these bent tin cans, drag them all the way to town. It's going to take me like 15 minutes. It shouldn't. But I'm that person that I grab every piece of trash in a building.
Starting point is 01:36:46 And then I can't fast travel so that I have to slow drudge the whole way back to the home base because it will all be useful in building my guns and making money. Yeah. You guys play the same. Yeah. LJ Films 1 High, Saw Wicked for Good, liked more than Part 1. Good for you. Wow. I did not feel the same way, but good for you.
Starting point is 01:37:11 Yeah, I love that. Look, I am of the mindset. I'm always going to give my opinion on something, but people are allowed to like what they like, and if they like something or they don't like something that I like, that is a thousand percent your prerogative. Absolutely. I'm here for that.
Starting point is 01:37:28 Gerard J. RIP to the daughter of Tommy Lee Jones. Oh, my goodness. Oh, no. Back in the news, not in a good way. and go Old Miss and screw lane Kiffin. Yeah, screw lane and Kiffin. What did Will Smith do? So I went ahead and googled this.
Starting point is 01:37:46 According to Rolling Stone, Will Smith has been sued by Tor violinist for sexual harassment and wrongful termination. Brian King Joseph accused the wrapper of predatory behavior in a lawsuit filed in California this week. Oh, boy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:38:02 According to the company, someone had unlawfully entered his Las Vegas hotel room during the tour and allegedly left a handwritten note among other things including wipes a beer bottle, a red backpack, a bottle of HIV medication bearing another person's name and earring and a hospital discharge paperwork for someone Joseph did not know. Ooh. Okay.
Starting point is 01:38:29 And then there's some other stuff, but that's not what this show is. so we're going to leave that alone. But damn, that's not good. That's really, really bad. You either die the hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain, man. Yeah. Well, but again, all alleged, we'll see what comes out with that a little bit more. Dharad, if you could take two movies and combine them, what movies and what would the title be?
Starting point is 01:38:57 I would take Rush Hour and Rush Hour 2, and I would call it Rush Hour. carpool lane. That's great. No notes. Man, what would I? I don't know what I would do. Oh, the first thing that came to mind is not an appropriate joke for this channel. Well.
Starting point is 01:39:22 I kind of want to know now. Well, I just showed Logan the movie Bottoms last night. Okay, word. Word. That's a great movie, by the way. And we started the year with Dix the musical. so there's something there I know I think that that's absolutely hilarious
Starting point is 01:39:42 and that would work I'm here for it I'm totally here for it let's see Samuel Champion 9689 Happy New Year to you both Thank you thank you for all you do Thank you I feel the cool thing to do Is to hate on the MCU for some fans
Starting point is 01:39:57 They'll change your tune after DUDD's day I certainly hope so I certainly hope that it's everything that we've been dreaming of this whole time, you know, that would be super, super dope. Yeah. I hope it delivers. It's the greatest thing out. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:40:08 Absolutely. We're at 32 with about 13 minutes left. We're almost to the end here. So if you want to keep the show going, send a few more in and let us new. Amos to CJ, midnight career, revenge of the Sith for me. Ooh, I bet that was fun. I did that, but I don't remember, I don't remember the, there's a certain number of, I went to a lot of midnight releases of video games and of movies.
Starting point is 01:40:31 I only remember two. Both of them had the, well, I remember three. Two of them were for Halo, Halo 2 and Halo 3. And one of them was X3, the last stand. The Halo ones I remember because with it being rated M for mature, my parents didn't necessarily care about the rating, but my parents were not going to a midnight release of a game when I was, what, like 14 years old or something like that,
Starting point is 01:41:00 15 years old. They were not doing this. I had to get my homie who was 18 to like take me to go get it. And my mom was like, you have school. You're not doing that. And I was like, ah, but I am. And she was like, I will kill you. And then Halo 3 was just in college.
Starting point is 01:41:21 I just remember being excited about that. So like I went with my frat brother and we both were diehard. And we were whooping everybody's ass in Halo. So we went together and got. it and everything. So what, any other midnight releases that pop into your head?
Starting point is 01:41:34 We did a couple of Harry Potter ones when I was growing up. Oh, and those were always cool. Yeah, because we would go like to the IMAX down in Houston
Starting point is 01:41:42 and it was a big deal when everyone would be dressed up and have ones and shit. It was great. Absolutely. Love that. Okay, the G-Man. Great theater experiences.
Starting point is 01:41:53 My mom took me to see the Bond films, midnight screening of aliens, and the 1997 Star Wars original trilogy, G re-releases. Ooh, this are great. I think my absolute favorite theater experience of all time is either the first Avengers, Infinity War or Endgame, all three of those were really special, especially because the crowds there were so into it and it just did stuff.
Starting point is 01:42:25 I think every time it's because the crowd has been into it, because my absolute favorite theater experience has to be seen get out at the black movie theater here in L.A. like it's it was the formerly the magic johnson theaters um but it's in the um what is that the baldwin hills mall that that or it's like right outside it the i think it's a cinema mark now um i can't tell the uncut version of this story because there's more to it but the main thing to know is is that when we were there people treated it the way like like all the black folk were just talking the whole time but it was hilarious because people were essentially cracking jokes. So, and I've told the story before where it'd be like, it'd be like, uh, she's looking
Starting point is 01:43:07 at all the different, or, um, Dan Kluia is looking at all of the people she's kidnapped over the years. And this one, this one dude goes, oh shit, she got Daryl and Tyrone and Jenkins. Oh, and Laquisha. Oh, you better get out. Like, like, just yelled that at the character and we're all just dying laughing. The fucking deer is that. That's magical.
Starting point is 01:43:30 That was our experience seeing the blackening on Junete. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Did your whole theater go, oh, oh, oh, oh, Rimey's auto part? Because I shit you not. Everybody started singing it. Everyone did the, whoa, at the end. The second verse part. Someone just went, not the second verse.
Starting point is 01:43:52 And then leaned forward was like, honey, you probably don't get that joke. Yeah. Just like, fair, fair. Oh, dark smirk. Stranger Things in theaters had gasping, crying, and a few, F yeah, yells. It truly felt like an Avengers event. Do you think the universe will continue? Oh, it's set to.
Starting point is 01:44:12 There's a spinoff. Oh, there is? Well, we've got the play, and then there is supposedly this, like, between seasons, Robin, Nancy, like little let's go solve some crimes kind of thing. But I feel like the Duffer brothers have also been talking about some other things are going to continue. And I'm sure Netflix wants it. too because now it's like what's your tent pole you know it did it did too well yeah yeah I agree
Starting point is 01:44:35 uh draw j nightmare on elm street and miracle on 34th street nightmare on 34th street would be a title oh that's a good one that's a good okay so then so then you specifically wanted to mash up not adding new stuff but i just figured i just figured like what the what kill bill when they put volume one and two together it was like kill bill like one bloody kill or something like that or didn't he rename it something like that oh isn't it the whole the whole bloody kill or something like that the whole bloody affair the whole bloody affair the whole bloody affair that's what it is yeah yeah okay let me let me think on it as we get these last couple and see if I can if I can smash some titles together um uh Cc Black 1987 feel the incursions will be more impactful than the snap from Thanos do we get reeds life raft if so
Starting point is 01:45:27 what characters need to survive in Doomsday? Yeah, I do think the incursions will be a bigger deal as well. I feel like you kind of need Reed's life draft to make that happen. I don't know. I don't know. Who has to be there? I mean, the Fantastic Four has to be there. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:45:52 I think Franklin for sure, because I think that we're going to really tap into his powers for all of this. Um, I think you, you, if you're bringing back cap and everything, you kind of have him survive and then you put it to rest at the end of secret wars. Um, I think Deadpool, actually. Deadpool would be fun. Yeah. I think he has to survive. Anybody else you feel like that we're missing?
Starting point is 01:46:20 Oh. It'd be fun to throw Bruce in there. Yeah. It'd be fun to get banner in the mix. I'd like that. Yeah. Yeah. No, for sure.
Starting point is 01:46:28 All right. And then reads laugh, life rap from the time run out comic. Best theater experience. Watching Black Panther opening night in Oakland, needless to say, a time was had. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:46:44 Had a great time with Black Panther as well. That was definitely hell of fun. But yeah, no, I, I, oof, lord, lord, lord. Okay, I'm still trying to think of a mashup name. So, but we have hit the end of our stream. 37 or super chats 37 is the number not quite 108 but not a bad start for the year again if they keep coming we'll read them out of here so i'm gonna let chris pluck her stuff again while i still try and think of a title mashup uh so chris tell them what you got yeah guys go check out two filthy casuals wherever you get your podcast go subscribe to us on youtube um we also have a patreon two for the casuals patreon pod it's really great um and that's just five bucks a month for two bonus episodes cheaper than a cup of coffee how wonderful and again If you want to learn about voiceover or if you want to learn about dialects,
Starting point is 01:47:31 you can work with my husband Logan, who teaches them over at speakfriendstudio.com. Oh, sorry, I cut you off for a second. She said, that's all. That's all you said at the end, right? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. My bad.
Starting point is 01:47:44 And you can find me. Oh, I got one. The movie Titanic and then the movie with Kirsten Dunt and Michelle Williams about Richard Nixon, Dick. So Titanic Dick. You can find me. You can probably have the swacking blurt all platforms, especially here on YouTube, the blood breakdown on Mondays. I am back this coming Monday after taking my holiday a hiatus.
Starting point is 01:48:10 Also check on my memberships over there as well. My members-only stream will be on the 11th. Got to cover my best of 25, got my anticipated at 26 and lots of other stuff coming on there. Spill the Tequila with John Roker on Tuesdays. Blurbs in the hood on Wednesdays. Back here on Fridays. the reactions will be in Christian coming back soon as well. So a lot of good stuff.
Starting point is 01:48:32 We just want to say it is going to be an all. Oh, we got another one in. Hold on before I do that little powwow wrap up. Maddie Watt, I wish it every year crossing my fingers for a Dragon Ball Super anime return announcement this year probably won't happen. I desperately, desperately want to see Moro turn into anime to be animated. That would be fantastic. but the moral arc is probably never coming sadly.
Starting point is 01:49:02 RIP to Toriyama. But yeah. As I was saying, though, thank you so much for watching the show. Thank you for an awesome 2025. We're very excited to kick off 2026 with you.
