The Kristian Harloff Show - THEY'RE BACK! The SchmoesKnow Movie Show!

Episode Date: October 8, 2026

Could Tom Cruise's Digger become one of Hollywood's biggest box office disasters of 2026?** New reports suggest that Warner Bros. could be facing a staggering **$250 MILLION loss** on Digger, raising ...major questions about the film's budget, box office performance, and what went wrong. On today's **Kristian Harloff Show**, we're breaking down the latest financial reports surrounding **Digger**, the Tom Cruise movie that's now generating headlines for all the wrong reasons. How does a major Hollywood production starring one of the biggest movie stars in the world end up facing a potential loss of this magnitude? What does this mean for **Tom Cruise, Warner Bros., and the future of expensive theatrical movies**? And with major changes happening throughout Hollywood, could Digger become another warning sign for studios spending enormous amounts on films that struggle to find an audience? We're also diving into some major **DC Studios** news! The upcoming **Deathstroke & Bane movie** reportedly has a surprising new title! What does this mean for the future of **Slade Wilson, Bane, Batman**, and James Gunn's DC Universe? Could this project help expand the villain side of the DCU, and how might these characters eventually connect to the larger Batman franchise? Then there's a fascinating look at what could have been with **Green Lantern**. New concept art has been revealed from the **scrapped Green Lantern HBO series**, offering a glimpse at a very different direction for DC's cosmic heroes. Unlike the more grounded approach of the current **Lanterns** series starring **Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart**, this earlier project appears to have embraced more of the cosmic spectacle associated with the Green Lantern mythology. Would fans have preferred a more space-focused Green Lantern television series? And after the recent Lanterns season, should DC Studios explore more of the Green Lantern Corps, Oa, and the larger cosmic DC Universe? Finally, **Fast Forever** could be bringing some fresh faces into the franchise! With the next installment of **Fast & Furious** preparing to continue the long-running action series, reports suggest new talent could be involved. Is bringing in new blood the right way to reinvigorate the franchise, or should the final chapter focus on **Vin Diesel, Dominic Toretto**, and the characters who made Fast & Furious a global phenomenon? 00:00 The Show Starts & Opening Banter 08:44 Jenn Sterger Calls In 12:14 SchmoesKnow Reunion 25:45 Factor & Rugiet 31:14 Digger Lost $250 Million 53:46 Q&A #TomCruise #Digger #WarnerBros #BoxOffice #Deathstroke #Bane #Batman #DCU #DCStudios #JamesGunn #GreenLantern #Lanterns #HalJordan #JohnStewart #FastForever #FastAndFurious #VinDiesel #MovieNews #KristianHarloffShow 🚀 Our Show Is Trending HAS launched on Kickstarter! Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome back to our review of 13 hours. Five schmose. Five out of five, baby. Michael Bay. Let's rock. I don't know how you do that and have a straight face about it, but that's it. It's the show. Welcome back to the show, everybody. It is not 2011. It is now... Is it not? Nope. 2012 and 26, I believe. And listen to me. We have a show tonight that I am very excited about. And yeah, man, it's an East Coast show. A lot of our peeps coming out. And it's myself, Mark Ellis, Jen Sturger. And we're going to be performing at the brokerage, Belmore.
Starting point is 00:00:46 And I got the man himself with me today. Governors. Mark Ellis is here. Yeah, buddy. How about that? And we said, people kept asking me, it's so funny with our feud that we have. Yeah, we really hate each other. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:57 Hate each other for a long time. Yeah, for such a long time. And it's funny because people will keep saying, when is Ellis going to be on the show? When is he going on the show? And I was like, we're going to do the show. I mean, you came on for the live stream, obviously, the 24-hour live stream that we had.
Starting point is 00:01:09 You popped in, I think, during like a he-man thing or something. Yeah, we were, we talked about, and we've always talked about doing a review of, like, a movie that we're both excited about. You're seeing one tomorrow that would have been a good target for that, but it's like, you just can't really find the time. And then everybody thinks we hate each other. And so I kind of lean into that part of it.
Starting point is 00:01:27 It's like, when are you going to come on Christian show, and I'm like, when he reaches out to me. That's right. F that guy. Because he's, it's frosty right. That's right. I basically, I created my own network and I cut him out of it. He moved 3,000 miles away for a reason. So we are going to be, the fact, you have a parking.
Starting point is 00:01:45 You don't even acknowledge that, by the way. You have a parking sign in your office now, and it says reserve for Christian Harlow. And then in big capital letters, no Ellis. And then it's got a carrot with like the Ghostbusters X out there. It's a weeping carrot. And that's it. That's the name of your new bar. But you got to dress up like a little.
Starting point is 00:02:04 Lord of the Rings character. It's like a weeping bar. That was a big old carrot. We are back and... It's a nice studio here. You like it? It's great. I mean, it's a long way from the days of...
Starting point is 00:02:16 Remember the lob mics that we used to have? And then we have like a little soundboard that would fry every third review. And we always had two posters in the background. And then the lights. The lights were the thing that pissed me off the worst because I was always like, it's good enough. They can see us. Let's talk. But we ordered this light kit that everybody
Starting point is 00:02:32 orders when they start out from Amazon. It's like, you know. Deacons, we are not. 80 bucks. No. Just trying to set the lights up, like not pinch your fingers when you're doing it. It was, but this is like a professional looking kind of operation. Did it all myself. Didn't need Brett Sheridan, didn't need. What a hero that guy is. And well, he set up, he set up the first two versions of this studio.
Starting point is 00:02:54 And then Ming's son, Val, came in and really helped define what it looks like today. and Luke helped him with getting the cameras and setting the things up. I don't know who most of these people are. That's fine. They did a great job. Well, if it helps you. You're just saying names of this. No, no.
Starting point is 00:03:12 PLD is just doing a countdown to the pizza. It's all we've been doing. And I heard that we're going to a pizza place. Stick your face right in there. Say hi, Paul. Everybody wants to see it. PLD is here. You see the three of us walking into a pizza joint the owner's like, yeah, we're closed.
Starting point is 00:03:28 No, no. They tell everybody else to leave because they know they don't have to make any problem or profit. That's what I was saying. We're going to be the only one's eating there. We're going to give them enough money. I thought I didn't yes and you. But we got a, we're going to get a pie and I was like, yeah, okay, that sounds great and you know this pizza place.
Starting point is 00:03:43 And by the way, we walked, we were scouting this morning, we walked to Starbucks. And the Starbucks is right across of the pizza place that we're going to. And on the way to Starbucks, which is a five minute walk, we walked by seven other pizza places. And I'm just like a little kid like, how about that one, dad? How about that one, dad? You're like, not today, son.
Starting point is 00:04:00 today we're going to this one they were safe like it's like you don't you don't go to adventureland when dizzineland is right there but what the hell is this burrito slice this oh barata close in the first yeah you got it the second time thought that was a gun no barada yeah barra that's a burrata barra is freeze or i'll douse you with mozzarella kid and a little balsamic there but we got a barata slice is so i tell everybody to get when you first go to talios you get the you didn't tell me to get it and you didn't even offer it to me why you said we're getting a pot my son's gonna have a cheese pizza because he's peta mccalister right and then you're talking to plodd about this high volutin slice that i wasn't involved in it's so funny he looks over he goes why can't i have that
Starting point is 00:04:38 yeah i was like came all this way to see you that's true you put me to work last night which we'll talk about we will talk about that but don't but don't don't pretend you didn't get paid for for that you got you sure did with the best spaghetti and yeah i got some pretty good home cooking last night at casa de harloff is true the dude was happy to see me your daughter's knowledge me, which is nice. It's a big step forward in our relationship. Yeah. And I'm telling you, I don't think that your wife and I've ever been on better terms. She loves seeing me. She was excited. She made her world famous meatballs and just, it was so good. It was great. Because she, and you know that my wife, if my wife offers, she goes, tell Mark to come over so I can cook a dinner.
Starting point is 00:05:19 That means she likes you, right? So yeah, because normally it's like, I feel like, hey, so-and-so's coming into town. It's like, great, where are you guys going to dinner and what time you'll be home? I actually and maybe I don't know if you guys have a bit about Sadie's rankings I am number one let's not tell anybody who's on the I'm just saying I'm not saying who's below me on the list everybody's below me on the list because I'm number one are number one you you hit the number one before I've ever been number number one before quite a while maybe when I like you guys were out of town I came over to walk sunny one time oh my God yeah that's I mean that's been so many years yeah in the working so it's a fit stock number two I don't know I don't
Starting point is 00:05:57 I don't think Finstock's ever been that high on any list. No. Other than a wanted list. Sadie and I did a reaction yesterday that I'll probably be coming out tomorrow. I might not appeal. He's panicking in the corner. We're doing, we're doing, we're doing, it's just PLD in a wig, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:06:11 Yeah, yeah. Hey, look, everybody's my wife. Right. Well, AI can do wonders now. You're going to need a lot of data centers to. I'm telling you, the whole, the whole, that's when SkyNet happens is when I turn PLD into my wife. Yeah, yeah, that's just it.
Starting point is 00:06:25 You overloaded the system. Yeah, nuclear bombs. just start going off right the second you turn him into julia roberts look like um so we are going to be talking about a lot of different things here today and i can't promise you that we're going to hit too much movie news um that's really that's not the purpose of this we're hoping in general that um you know you guys will come out and see us tonight we're doing meet and greets uh in belmore you're anywhere in east coast you're like i don't know hopefully this this brings back some nostalgia for you you want to come see us because it's me ellis and uh jen sturger and then we
Starting point is 00:06:57 we got Kyle Lewis. Great comic. I love Kyle Lewis. The best. I love Kyle Lewis. He is a great dude. I'm going to be really excited to see him in general. So, yeah, we're going to be doing this show tonight.
Starting point is 00:07:11 And last night, I pick up, well, Ellis is staying at a hotel kind of really close to my office, which is great. And I picked him up. We drove around a show to hold the stay. Yeah. Oh, really? Where I was instructed. Well, I try to pick a halfway point between your office and your place. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:27 a nice little spot there flew in yesterday and ubered from the airport to the hotel got in and then I immediately was called into duty to get to dinner because we had an early dinner last night. Right. Did you so I'm getting a message from Jen Sturger right now. Man, I love stand-up. What a great week for comedy. I've been already. I got to confirm this.
Starting point is 00:07:50 You know, I might let's be might as well do it on the air. You need to take the wheel? No. I'm just going to let it. Okay, they're sending everyone an email. So we might be going to a slightly different comedy club on Long Island. Wow. It's still governors, but they might just be moving us to governors proper as opposed to the
Starting point is 00:08:07 brokerage in Belmore, which is governors is a bigger comedy club. I don't know if that's the reason why they're moving us. That'd be great. That'd be great. I'm curious why, like, what that's all about. Yeah. But if you have tickets for tonight, according to our sources, you should be getting an email soon. Yeah, I'm waiting to see if Jen's available to talk.
Starting point is 00:08:24 Oh, this is what happens. Why don't you, you want me to go take the call? No, no. Hold on. Call Jen Sturger. Oh, here we go. Let's see what we got. This is going to be good.
Starting point is 00:08:38 Sturger Jen. Is that how people are on your phone? Is that last name first? Sometimes, sometimes. Hey, Jen, what's going on? What's up, man? She's on the air, Christian. Yes.
Starting point is 00:08:49 You got to tell people this. She knows. She knows she's on the air. I told her in time. Oh, okay. Well, you know, ever know. Like when you call a radio station, usually they're like, all right, we're going to patch you through. Yeah, that's true. And then you're just kind of waiting in limbo. Did I get the
Starting point is 00:09:02 tickets or not? Right. Exactly. Did I win the boob job? That's actually something I tried to do. All right. So what's, if you're giving out boob jobs, I would like one, Christian. Yeah, PLD is. He's here. Oh. PLD does him out of his trunk. He's wearing a doctor smock. That's how we afforded the gas. You got here. Oh, God. Okay, so anyways, I just got, I woke up.
Starting point is 00:09:29 Yeah. So is that, is that good news or bad news? I feel like governors are bigger than, than broke. It's good news. So a couple of things. They have seen an uptick and tickets. Okay. There was just an issue with the club,
Starting point is 00:09:42 so the owners decided to move us to the other clubs. So they're going to send out an email blast to anyone that got tickets. Everybody's tickets are still valid. They're just letting everybody know. know what if people show up there though that's what I'm worried about that I know a lot of people that are showing up without buying tickets online well then you're going to have to text those people yeah I got to figure out yeah those are mostly your family members I'm going to have to do some you know what Luke is probably watching right now Luke you have to do an updated picture you know what
Starting point is 00:10:12 use the original picture that we had for governors yeah yeah yeah original one yeah original one and I'll just have to do a couple blasts for so anybody who's coming here today if you're watching this right now, we're listening. We're going to be at governor's proper and not the brokerage. So that's going to be something that I'll have to post out, and I guess me and Jen and Ellis Wall post that out too. But that I mean, that's good that there's a ticket up to. Jan, am I still on the lineup? That's a hard note.
Starting point is 00:10:42 That's a hard note. For some reason, PLD is now sweating. PLD is going up. Oh, no, but this does create a small issue for me, but I'll I'll connect with PLD and see if we can't figure something out. Okay. He's got a car and his mobile. Oh, I see. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:57 I forgot to tell you, Jen's a prop comic now. She travels with a trunk and they left it at the Delta baggage. So PLD needs to run to Dave. Williams is actually inside of that. Right. Right. He's going to pop out.
Starting point is 00:11:08 Perfect. Okay. Well, I mean, again, not the, not the worst news. We just we just have to tell people in generally, and there'd be people who are showing up, you know. Yeah. If anybody, if fans want to help us out, please, you know. Retweet the hell out of it.
Starting point is 00:11:21 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I just woke up because I was working on my hour last night and I just got blindsided with this. Yeah, I mean, shoot, yes, they moved it. And so what was, I mean, I guess I'll talk to you about it offline as far as I'm curious why they, the uptick in sales and then the owner or something, something else happened with the broker? No, it was an issue with the club itself. So I'll share with you off the air.
Starting point is 00:11:46 Okay, sweet. I don't put people's personal business. No, no, no, no, totally. Oh, but I will tell the story, Jen. this reminds me. I'll tell the story of our show at Comic-Con this year because that had an interesting, that had an interesting wrinkle built into it. Mark, I'm not going to lie. It's not too far off. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:12:06 Anyways, good enough. I'll see you tonight. Talk to you later. See you in a bit. All right. So there you go. We got to update there. I've got to tell my wife. That's great. Christian's going to tell his wife. So in San Diego, Comic-Con, we had a bunch of fans come out to a club called Yellow Door, which is a great club. It's part of the National Lampoon Network. And it's right in downtown. So you go to downtown San Diego now, like the Gas Lamp District. You are basically within a stone's throw of four different quality comedy clubs.
Starting point is 00:12:32 So we did Yellow Door. I was on the lineup. Jen Sturger was on the lineup. We had some great local comics. Ken Napsock popped in. And it's this room upstairs. And you walk upstairs. And it feels like you're walking downstairs to like a New York kind of comedy club.
Starting point is 00:12:45 It's got that intimate, great feel. But about halfway through the show, I'm going up last. halfway through the show, the host, Genesis, scoots over to me, and she's like, do you smell farts? And I'm like,
Starting point is 00:12:57 I'm not ripping ass. That's not my pre-show routine. But we started to smell something, and then we're like, this might be a gas leak. So it was not yellow door. And I'm going to stress that. It was not them.
Starting point is 00:13:10 The restaurant next door had an issue with their gas line. So during the middle of the show, it was during Ken's set. Halfway through Ken said, he's having a good set. The PA comes on from the back and they say, sorry, folks, we need to evacuate the room. So everybody had to get up, walk outside, wait 20 minutes to make sure that it was safe to go back in.
Starting point is 00:13:33 So I'm like going up just like meeting people like, hey, sorry, I didn't get, didn't get to go up tonight. You know, they'll give you a refund or whatever. Everybody hung out in the street. I'm basically doing, it's like a Steve Martin. Like I'm just doing stand up on the street. And then they say, hey, everybody, we can actually go back in. The room's been cleared. It's safe.
Starting point is 00:13:49 We can go back in. everybody came back yeah everybody came back and uh that's what that's what all went down with the yeah so it was this this thing next door they got it solved and i ended up getting to go up the greatest thing i saw that night was uh our friend crag barbarian you know yeah yeah he was at the show and he got up and evacuated like everybody else he was in the middle of a steak he had ordered a steak and he was eating a steak and he has to get up and evacuate he comes right back after near gas league sits right back down goes right back into the steak like just like like like he had just gotten up to use the bathroom came right back kept you kept kept
Starting point is 00:14:22 on the stick it reminded me of that remember the movie wise guys with joe piscipo the long time oh my gosh lou albano at the very end yeah yeah yeah yeah i did and they all blow up because of the gas i don't remember that at all but that's uh that's a that's a great that's nice yeah that's this guy maybe i was maybe i just feel that way yeah well it's good i'm telling some people now now now i've got besides working on my set now i have to like text everybody and tell everybody that we're no longer um it's better that way honey your sets your set's gonna be what it is i hope they give us a little leeway right to where it's like okay look people are showing up to the other club they're gonna be texting me i know what's going to
Starting point is 00:14:59 happen they're gonna say hey i'm at the i'm at freaking belmore is i'm like go to left town so i mean i've had people go to the wrong comedy club just because they went to the wrong comedy club i've had people like park at the laugh factory and they're like hey what time are you up and i'm like it's gonna be a while if you're waiting there yeah down the street at the comedy store yeah that's happened many times over yeah yeah yeah so it's that governor's proper governor's proper which is cool this is what ultimately where we wanted to go in the first place but now I just you know we'll just have to tell everybody so we will um creates I think Luke's gonna hopefully Luke's gonna can
Starting point is 00:15:31 you text Luke yeah we just word out yeah we just need to redo the banner so and like update on is that yeah that's the one that's that's good but let's but and we'll do like updates so send that to me PLD but we're also do um a big update on the actual thing so now if you're the if you're going to be around tonight come to governors come on out levittown uh and come see us so that's a good i'm glad that jen caught us and told us at that point and you could not have timed that any better no because she texted us five minutes into the show um and then oh perfect and then look her look was ready on it he's on it so we just got we're he's putting to put update on it um yeah we're just gonna look at those fresh faces it's really good
Starting point is 00:16:10 okay so let's get back into what we're talking about um pick up ellis at from the hotel. You did not pick me up from the airport. I didn't say airports at hotel. Try to make yourself a hero here. You did pick me up from the hotel, which was very nice of you. On route to dinner where I couldn't just walk into your house and eat dinner. I had to have a special I had to have a special pass that your daughter made for me. And so I had to have a golden ticket. It was kind of like you're walking into Willy Wonka's factory. Right. And the dude comes up and grease me right away. He remembers Uncle Mark. Great seeing the dude. We wrestled a little bit. caught up with the girls and we sit down to dinner, but it was not the longest dinner because
Starting point is 00:16:48 we had other things we had to do that night. Yes. So we, we, I told people that we got, my little one, Maisie, she plays softball and on Wednesday nights are practice. I'll go to the practice. So we were just shooting the shit. We're actually talking about Schmodeown stuff. And then, it's just nice being at, at baseball practice. Right. And it was a great weather. It was, it was perfect fall, East Coast weather. Yeah. I'm looking. at all these little tikes playing playing baseball and softball and it's like this big sports complex and it's just like in another universe i told you this last night in another universe if i'm like the tom holland version of mark ellis there's like a toby mcguire version of me that is coaching
Starting point is 00:17:27 that has kids that running around and my wife's making orange slices for everybody and uh but i'm over here is tom holland just being lonely well we were hanging out though we're talking we were too lonely i was talking to you but we were we were talking about like about life in general yeah but then Shmowedown stuff was, was coming up. We were literally talking about something Shmoudan-related. And one of the coaches from my daughter's team was there. And he's not the guy who runs the practices. And he's just, he's just there because his daughter was there, the same thing.
Starting point is 00:17:54 And he's like, hey, these coaches who run this thing, they're not here yet. And he's like, he was a little panic. Yeah. And he's like, I don't know. We're going to run drills with him. We got another guy over here. You guys want to help out. I'm like, well, he's visiting in L.A.
Starting point is 00:18:04 Mark's like, I'll do it. Yeah, man. So here's the four of us. I'm happy. Firing down the, doing drills. were all lined up, we're working. We're throwing grounders, and then the girls kept demanding pop-ups. And I'm like, if I throw a pop-up and it hit you in the face, I'm going to feel really bad about it.
Starting point is 00:18:18 But I started laughing on pop-ups, these girls can field, man. Right. So, like, who hit you in the head with the ball? He said his name was Lewis. Hey, I'll tell you what, the girls in my row. I had five girls in my row. They're great fielders. They got a pretty good arm on them.
Starting point is 00:18:32 They loved coach, Mark. Good. I'm happy that. Got a new career, staring me right in the face. Yeah, I'm glad that we did that because it was a lot of fun. And then obviously when you're traveling, we're talking about that earlier, when you're traveling from L.A. to New York, you lose a lot of the day. So he was, the fact that he was just even holding on to be able to do that was impressive. If you go from L.A. to New York, even if you fly direct,
Starting point is 00:18:54 if you get one thing done in your day once you get to New York, then that's a, that's a win. The other thing is yesterday, I did settle to score the Matt Nose show. Great, great game show. I love that show. I love doing it. Yeah. I love it. And he's, him and Andy, they're going to come on the 24-hour live stream for trending. We're going to close it out. And they're going to play the game, a portion of the game with somebody. Yeah. We'll showcase a show and we'll have some fun with doing it.
Starting point is 00:19:22 I mean, we'll incorporate it with the campaign itself. But the reason I also bring that up is that I was telling them about it, the only time, because Ellis and I really started hanging out, and this is, this, this predates Schmo's no. We were hanging out because we, I would, did grasping in straws we had met 2006 well when we met it was like 2007 oh 3 oh 3 okay oh 3 summer of 0 3 right that makes sense so yeah at that barbecue and then so then then when we were doing um our grassman of straws pilot we were hanging out more because ellis
Starting point is 00:19:58 um i was at the comedy store and and i remember running into this is so funny how the shit works out too because i remember seeing you that night and in my head going oh you know ellis would be good for that particular role there too and i ran it's like hey you want to be in this thing Yeah, I'll do it. You'd be good to play that shitty comic. Hey, Ellis, I saw you really struggling up there. Hey, Alice, I saw your flop sweat. We got a roll for you.
Starting point is 00:20:18 Are you method acting? But I will tell you, though, no, it is actually very, it's, it shows you, you have to be really funny in order to play a shitty comic. You really do. Like, because a shitty comic, like, playing a shitty comic is, you can't do it. Can't do it. You're too shitty. No, it's, it's, it's, you can't go full shit. It's the truth.
Starting point is 00:20:39 it's a truth because you can't go full shit but i always thought that character sean moroni had potential in the world's stand-up i was he just hadn't he just didn't get it yet the goal was that he was going to have a baby face turn in the oh really he was he was he was one he was one of the villains like kind of henchmen and he was loo he was uh i was one of uh santini's underling one of his underlie and eventually eventually he would he would leave and be friends with with danny but right but anyway mark and i really hit it off um behind the scenes and like we would talk we were talking about you know baseball and football and everything too and we'd be bullshitting and and transformers was a big way i remember driving around la hoyo that's where we go we're
Starting point is 00:21:17 transformers yeah transformers then the only time i was like well wait a minute this the only time in the history of working with mark did i ever think this guy trying to sabotage me only once you remember this i know exactly what this is so and none of this is on me no no it it it isn't it isn't um we were we were hanging out the whole time in lojoya was myself and the way that it was myself and the way that works is loa hoia had a comedy store and and um and they would bring i was i was paid regular you were paid regular you weren't at the time i was not you were going down with i think amad amad was was headlining and shame atosh shame atosh was on the lineup so you and shama were probably each doing about 20 yep and then emette was going to close with like 40 and then i got to go down because i
Starting point is 00:21:59 wasn't paid regular yet they started letting folks like me go down and host yeah and so basically i was like cold opening the room but i got to do like 10 minutes and like for me back in the day that's a pretty big deal. Right. So we, um, so we were hanging out the night before laughing our ass off walking around the place. I was hanging out with him. We had a couple pops the whole time. So then one of the shows, I'm like, I'm like, yeah, we'll ride over there together. We'll go over and we'll, we'll grab a cab. We'll, we'll, well, right over there together. I'm great. So then I'm in the condo and I walk out and I say I met, I met, and, and shame. I'm like, where's Ellis? Like, oh, he left. When you left where to the, to the, to the show? I'm like, what? And because we were supposed to go together. And I didn't. And then. And then. And then. And then. And
Starting point is 00:22:39 I'm like, holy shit. So I had to catch a cab and go there. And I, he went up and he was going, he, they told him to go longer because I wasn't there yet. They said the, yeah, it was basically like, hey, go into, we're not going to light you until, until Harloff or shame. Right, right, right. So, and I showed up and I was. And I brought you up and then I think like I, you know, I introduced you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:59 And you went up, I think it shook your hand and you whispered in my ear like, you're like, you skunk or something like that. Something like that. Something like that. Here's what happened. Yeah. Here's what, here's what it happened. Yeah. I remember this, is that we all in the condo were under the impression that the show started at a, at a time.
Starting point is 00:23:14 I think we thought it was starting at 8.30 or something. And then, but they moved it up to like, eight. And so they're like, you need to be here now. And I was like, I don't have time to wait for this jackal to finish poop. And so I, or whatever you were doing. And it wasn't like, you know, I don't even think we had blackberries yet. Like we were, this was still flip phone. It was so.
Starting point is 00:23:33 One of the two. And so I had to run out because the show was going to start. Right. So that's why. Didn't have time to. And ever since, ever since that day, you've always been a little needy when it comes to like, hey, are we going to ride together? Like, I think I, I think that that moment really like turn something on in your brain where it's like, wait, wait, who's going to drive me? I need to go with somebody.
Starting point is 00:23:56 Well, that's exactly what happened. I think I cabbed it there. And so it was the only time. You were steaming the whole way at me. Because like I said, we're not the, we weren't the friends that we are today. So like I and we had just started to build a rhythm right and I was just started to like so I'm like I'm like and you know and I and you never You never know what people are gonna do like did this guy fucking sabotage me to get extra time? I'm like I'm like what a son of a bitch because Tommy who was running place like her and you a lane well. Okay. Did he tell you? Yeah. Okay. Can't show up way they weren't happy. Okay. They weren't happy. Wow. It's not just not. Yeah. So that was
Starting point is 00:24:36 that was crazy so anyway so obviously that that wasn't the case where so this almost none of this this all yeah could have evaporated 100% but we repaired the relationship we didn't really even argue about it because I was like because he that was the thing when he told me yeah he's I didn't know it's like I was like he's not lying but I remember he had a good set and that that was the thing and I was thinking like this guy's tapping into his anger at me and and it's working so well it was And I hope that he continues crushing whatever he closes with gets standing ovation. So he gets off stage in a good movie. I think that's exactly what happened.
Starting point is 00:25:11 I think when I was like, had I bombed, I don't know. That would have been different. I think they would have been a problem. But it was a good set in Mojahua was great. So anyway, so it worked out. Okay, look, we got a lot more stories. People are excited to see us kind of doing a show. I'm excited to do the show as well.

I want to thank Ruggiette, Rougiette, and we took it serious today. Come on, PLD. The fucking guy comes in two seconds.
Starting point is 00:30:18 Unbelievable. Don't do that again. Had my nuts out. How about that? No. Those two knuckleheads. Yeah. So we are, for people, again, updates for people,
Starting point is 00:30:27 if they, Ellis and I are here, and if you're watching or listening, We are performing tonight and we are no longer performing at the brokerage. We're performing at governors, which is a legendary Long Island club. It's in Levittown. So hopefully you guys will come out and check us out. I'm going to update that on all our socials. I have to delete a lot of my socials that I posted it today.
Starting point is 00:30:47 But the town is not that far from here though, right? No, it's like these towns, the town's in Long Island. It's like you're just walking down a street. It's like you're in one town and then you're just in the next town. Yeah, it's not too much of the difference. So we'll be there tonight, but these are, we'll be there tonight. but there's some other things that we have to discuss when we talked about. And I'll bring this up.
Starting point is 00:31:06 What's going on for the two of us here? Digger, you brought, Mark had asked me. He said, did you see Digger? And I was like, he did. And we were going to talk about our thoughts on it for a little bit. And let me just get this story that's also because it's poised to lose some money. And we knew it was going to lose money. But now it's poised to even lose him more.
Starting point is 00:31:26 It's not exactly a mission impossible. Although I would say I'd love to see Tom Cruise playing the character of Digger in a Mission Impossible movie. I think that'd be fun. Or Tropic Thunder, too. So the loss of 250 million. Skydance now have been taking over at one of those discovery. They're opening up the books. And seemingly, they're not liking what they find.
Starting point is 00:31:44 The rap reports that Digger is set to lose the studio more money than even previously indicated. Potentially, a massive $250 million. That number isn't just the biggest loss of the year for or Cruz. I guess I mean, for huge crews. It's one of the biggest losses for a film in
Starting point is 00:32:00 years, if not ever. up in the kind of loss of the marvels. John Carter, Strange World, the Lone Ranger and Rangers. What a Pluto Nash? What Pluto Nash? I don't think it cost that much. It was just... What, this movie?
Starting point is 00:32:12 No, Pluto Nash. I don't know. It cost a lot of Hillary's to make that movie. If you've seen it, you get it. Hildy, look at that up. All right. It's almost double previous reports, which had the losses at around 125 to 150 million that still factoring in post-theatrical revenue streams.
Starting point is 00:32:27 The film debuted to just 21 million worldwide last weekend, and Insiders at Skydance are now estimating the, film will clear the 40 million mark worldwide yuck insider for the film claimed the budget of the movie was 163 to 173 though an unexpected insurance settlement played a part in that with with about 100 million spent on marketing my goodness really this is irresponsible i didn't see that much marketing uh one of those particular pictures also fully financed the film unlike other projects that have financial partners okay so this is a this is a nightmare for them you would you would think that it would get some maybe pop back at the box office a tick if it
Starting point is 00:33:02 it gets nominated for a bunch of awards, but even just, the fact that, like, money has nothing to do with awards on its, on its face, but it's like,
Starting point is 00:33:09 if you are now known, you're not known for being, what I think is a really well done movie. You're not even known for this, like Tom Cruise, very different than center performance. Now you're, it's like Waterworld.
Starting point is 00:33:21 It's like, that could have been a cool Kevin Costner action adventure, but it was so famous for being a bomb, even though that movie ended up making its money back. This is now mostly known for being a bomb versus this transcendental performance by Cruz that's going to get them an Oscar. And I think that that kind of stink
Starting point is 00:33:36 is tough to get off when you're campaigning for awards. 100%. And I think that what, and I've talked about this, and I wonder if you agree with me, that last year, Warner Brothers had a really good year. And so they took a shot with one battle after another,
Starting point is 00:33:54 which cost $170 million also, lost them money, but returned in accolades and, awards prestige so they tried to do that again with this and landed on their face this time but god that's a lot of like it lost a lot of money who's who's okaying that kind of budget for and look when you see the movie i'll say this you can see the money on the screen right it's not like they were pocketing the the the production budget like you can see that they spent a crap ton of money to make the movie right you don't seem as high on it as i was um i i just have a strained relationship
Starting point is 00:34:31 ship right now because i with it because i i saw it and i kind of knew and this is i'll go back to because i'm going to tell you about the brad bird thing we're at this dinner i saw you had him on yeah and so i well i'll tell you that the first part of the brad bird story leading back in the digger was that if you watch if you guys watch the interview this happens we're talking about star wars where he was usually where it goes with you yeah well he was he was he was in line to do force awaken yes right and so we talked about that and he talked about how tomorrow land was already in production and he and he had really at Clooney who committed and you didn't want to bail on it. But as he's telling me that story,
Starting point is 00:35:03 I always have my phone off during interviews. I didn't. So my wife calls me and her ringtone is the canteena song. So the canteena song starts blasting. As he's talking about passing up or having to pass up Star Wars. And he's going, that's amazing. That's great. He loved it.
Starting point is 00:35:20 He loved it. He loved it. That's great. That's how he loved it. So that's fun. But anyway, so we went to that and there was like this dinner afterwards where people who had interviewed him, down we had dinner and stuff too and in the city was amazing but did you roll with him to the city
Starting point is 00:35:35 he went and then i'm i was okay i actually showed up i was one of the first people to show up there and it was what the hell was it called 52 or something i can't remember and it doesn't matter it was delicious so i was sitting there with um this other critic and where they and digger starts coming up and i'm like i'm going to see it soon and the guy goes and it's it's one of these critics that but know where this is going it's one of piss me on it's it's one of these critics that you and I have sat next to it doesn't matter what town we're in the guy that just needs to be the guy that tells everybody everything and knows that his yeah yeah is that type of guy so I'm sitting there with this guy and and we're talking about digger and he's like
Starting point is 00:36:17 wow you know it's just it's not the movie that they tell you it's that it's supposed to be and I'm like okay well does that mean he's like he's like you're going to see it right I'm going to see it and he's like well can I tell you what the thing is and I go they just can't help them and he goes it happens right away. He's like, if it happens right away, he's like, yeah, it's not like they wait for a bit. They just tell you as soon as the movie starts.
Starting point is 00:36:40 I'm like, well, that's the case. I'm sure, tell me. And so he tells me, I'm watching the movie. I'm like, this thing ain't happening. And I know what it is. Still isn't happening. 15 minutes into it, still not happening. Wow.
Starting point is 00:36:51 20 minutes into it happens. I go, that fuck. I know what he's, yeah, I know what he told you. So he tells that. I'm like, son of a bitch. But nonetheless, I was like, okay, I'm prepared for it. The thing happens.
Starting point is 00:37:03 And when that thing happens. Wait, can I tell you about that thing real quick in my theater? Yeah. Because I, uh, junior had a lot of Diet Coke before the movie. I'm like,
Starting point is 00:37:10 I'm just going to sneak out and pee. Like, I kind of see where the movie's going. We've been introduced to what the issue that we're going to have to solve is. And I'm like, I'm going to dip out for a quick pee going to come back, not miss anything. I come back.
Starting point is 00:37:20 That thing has been, has happened. Oh, and so I'm like, watch it like the next 30 minutes. I'm like, what in God's name is going. What is going to be really?
Starting point is 00:37:27 I'm trying to marry what's going on. I eventually got there because I am, in fact, they Wake Forest University graduates. So it took a minute to piece together, back to you. Oh, wow, that's funny. So yeah, so when that thing happens and I'm looking and I'm going, I just don't, I'm just not invested anymore now because of that thing. It's a different kind of investment.
Starting point is 00:37:46 Yeah. And then, but what I've said many times over to the audience, where they heard it is by the time I got to the like last 15 minutes, I'm like, oh, I'm really on board with this thing. Yeah. But it was the last 15 minutes. So the majority of the movie, at one point I'm like, should I leave?
Starting point is 00:38:01 And I'm like, I'm not going to leave. I'm going to finish the movie. And I still don't, I don't even know, like, it's just, it's,
Starting point is 00:38:08 it seems messy, but maybe it wasn't. It's like, it's definitely, it's definitely a rewatch movie if you're, if you are curious to see if you're going to like it again, right? It's a rewatch movie,
Starting point is 00:38:19 but it's, the thing is I was, I did JTE's podcast recently. And I was talking to them, and I said that they're like, Would you recommend this to anybody? And the three of them said, yeah, we'd recommend it for sure. And I said, I wouldn't recommend this to the casual moviegoer.
Starting point is 00:38:35 And I think that the $250 million loss shows you why. Who was this marketed to? And when you see it, this is, it's not targeted, but it is for the, a tour, a tour kind of film lover, which is not a bad thing. But I figure it's for $180 million, it's a bad thing. but this movie is for people who love movies who love film. It is not for the casual fan. And that is where they made their mistake as far as letting it cost that much.
Starting point is 00:39:05 But I also wonder if audiences can be very smart when it comes to sniffing stuff out. You know, you talk about like doing stand-up. It's like audiences, they may laugh at sophomore humor, but they can tell when a comic is feeling it. They can tell when a comic's panicking a little bit. They can just smell it. And I think with this, they could just read the tea leaves leading into. to it and realize that this thing is going to be making a big statement that's that's political in nature that is environmental in nature and they may not have that that might have been part of the
Starting point is 00:39:36 reason why they pulled back is because this is going to be a really heavy theme which it was and and it's not a criticism of the movie because I think it does an excellent job in executing that but it is depressing to watch it's a very depressing watch from a certain point of view so I'm watching the movie and anytime I'm watching like an Oscar Bay kind of movie I think is my mom going to get into this because my mom loves watching whatever gets nominated is my mom gonna enjoy that what's my mom's take on this going to be and i'm walking out of the theater i'm like i just don't know but it is a lot of movie and i mean that in a good way and a bat it's a lot of movie and so if you're looking at why it's not doing what a mission impossible movie is even something that a Alejandro has done before right like look
Starting point is 00:40:16 at the revenant right sure the revenant that was tailored to more of a mainstream audience it's a survivalist movie and it's not making this grandiose political statement about our times and what we're doing to the environment. That was just a movie where it's like, can this dude who's super famous, who we all love, can he survive by eating bear liver for the next 30 days? And the bear and the bear was awesome.
Starting point is 00:40:37 And the bear attack. That's what everyone was talking about that. Yeah. Yeah. So, um, yeah, I think I just,
Starting point is 00:40:43 it, it didn't do what they wanted to do. But the funny thing is when you hear about this where it started that article and they're like, well, Paramount's looking and going, hey, this,
Starting point is 00:40:51 this is, this is, this is, this is, this is Abdi DeLuca. And Zavslov right now. Sorry. They literally, like, you just opened your birthday present and it's got this nice box.
Starting point is 00:41:04 And it's just a turd inside. And you're like, well, we got some work to do. All right. Just like, whoops. Sorry. And then Abdin to look like, hey, you let us go. So tough shit. Because if they didn't get let go, then they're walking in going, oh, this is bad.
Starting point is 00:41:17 They get to walk into the shareholder. Yeah, they don't care. So this is all Paramount going, oh, what, what, we've got a lot. lot to turn around now and it's so we'll see how that's going to play but tomorrow i'm going to either one of the two things is going to happen tomorrow and i have to figure out how this is going to play it's either we're going to do a late show around like 3 p.m. Eastern or i might have to cancel the show i'm not sure yet because i'm going to see godzilla minus zero tomorrow which i'm really excited about um i mean it's changed my flight i know you that would 100% take you good yeah
Starting point is 00:41:51 but i'm so pumped for this movie i cannot wait to see it i did see him and you're talking about depressing um social reckoning is is a bit depressing too when you think about like i'm really excited to see it i'm excited to uh particularly i want i want to see bill burr and his performance i didn't mention him in the review he was really good um but uh yeah just because i also want to ask bill just about about what it's like acting with the school that you come from with acting versus jeremy strong in the way that he i'd love to just have that conversation with him off the record but the social reckoning is one of the of those that's in the wheelhouse of like there's movies that i have that i'm very excited to
Starting point is 00:42:30 see that and prime time and then you have the two documentaries you have the must doc and uh you can see everything which is maybe my most anticipated i would tell you could probably and this is the thing which i couldn't imagine telling people beforehand too you could probably wait for social reckoning and still enjoy be and like look forward to it right watching it at home with the beer or something yeah yeah i mean i don't need to rush out and see it's not a it's not a it's not a you have to see this in the theater and the way that like I remember when we saw it was the social network I saw that one I don't know who you saw it with but I was at I was working it for the bachelor at the time and it was such a big review for us that I needed to go and see it so I
Starting point is 00:43:13 went and bought a ticket for it and I was working at the bachelor and it was like whatever time and I rushed to the theater to see it and there was one seat left and it was it was it felt like I was going to see an Avengers movie. It was like that kind of this didn't have that feel. This I remember seeing the social network. I thought we saw it together, but I remember being in a theater and the movie ended and everybody did the same thing. Everybody pulled their phones out. And it's like this is what the movie led you to. And it was like the day new ma of the movie is the movie ends. And then everybody's just like, let me, let me post my thoughts on this on Facebook. Yeah. And do you remember who our special, I remember clearly who our special guest was for that review?
Starting point is 00:43:50 Oh, boy. If you don't get it on the first one, I'll give you a hint. I do not. It was a comedian. Okay. It was 2010. And was not a comedian that made a lot of appearances, maybe one or two after, but not a lot. Ranice easy?
Starting point is 00:44:11 No. Ernst? No. Dwayne Perkins. Dwayne Perkins was in that. Dean Perkins. And he had requested to do it because he had read the book. book and he was following our reviews and wanted to do it.
Starting point is 00:44:23 I knew Dwayne from the, yeah, yeah. Wow. He was one of the first guys I had met. So anyway, so that movie, from Godzilla minus zeros tomorrow, one of my highly anticipated movies for sure. Can't wait to see that one. And the other one I'm going to see next week
Starting point is 00:44:38 that you had mentioned is well fall. Oh, dude, yeah. I have not seen the whole movie, but they showed us like 10, 15 minutes of it at CinemaCon in Vegas, and they showed us the sequence, the sequence in the movie. don't know anything about it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:44:52 Well, we'll just let me tell you this. Yeah. Because it happens in the first five minutes. Here's the ending of the movie. No, it's like if you think of whale fall and if you know the story at all, then you, then you know that there's like a big action that happens. It is sort of the movies built around.
Starting point is 00:45:06 They showed us that scene. And my God, everybody's just like. Yeah, I know enough about it. It's like the Pinocchio moment. It's a Pinocchio moment. Yeah. A monster shows up. So this is the kid that is the lead in,
Starting point is 00:45:20 in the Resident Evil, right? Austin Abrams. Is that who this is? Yeah, he's great Resident Evil, man. Yeah. Did you like that movie? Oh, yeah. Did you like the ending? Yes, I did.
Starting point is 00:45:30 I didn't like the ending. I really liked the movie. I didn't like the ending because you can still do whatever you want if, I don't think Craigor wants anything to do with it. Just because, not because he hates the movie, just because I think he's done with making a franchise movie.
Starting point is 00:45:43 But I think it still sets up for a lot of fun to be having that universe if somebody can take the baton. I agree. So the other stuff we're going to talk about, as I mentioned, that we had our show tonight, which has been moved. Comedy, whoa! I know it's at governors, Levittown. Now it is no longer at the brokerage. So for people who are planning, I eat's because people, I really hope that you guys, especially that we're going to be there.
Starting point is 00:46:08 Jen's going to be there. And you guys, we don't, the last time he and I performed together was my show at the comedy store when I left. Was that it? 24. Yeah, yeah, it must have been. Yeah, it was when I left. And speaking of trending, Mark, Martini was on that show as well.
Starting point is 00:46:21 That's right. And had a great story. She told a very funny story. Yeah, she's, so Martini performed that night. By the way, we're, I'm doing my 10-hour stream on the 23rd. Congrats on the Kickstarter. Thank you. Yeah, we still got, we still get a little bit of work to do, but we're, we're excited.
Starting point is 00:46:35 We're pumped to do our, our stream. And yeah, and the other thing. So Mark was on that stream. Yeah, probably, hopefully you can be on the 23rd stream as well if he's around. You can talk to my people. Yeah, well, someone else that was on that stream. Oh, it was was Penny Barber. And I was telling him, I was telling Mark about
Starting point is 00:46:50 this beforehand too. I was like this is this is the type of stuff that when I would I would throw these type of ideas and things with Schmo's and he'd be like and so it was because we we had spoke do you remember we had an adult film star on the old Schmo's days. What was her name? Janet no I was I was out of town I was on the road somewhere you weren't on with Santino no no and I remember and I remember getting I think I was in Houston or something I remember getting back and putting on the live show and being like, I wish I was there, but I also, thank God, I'm not there because I have plausible deniability with all this. Yeah, it actually was hilarious. It was a, it was a nutcase second hour, but it was hilarious. The fan seemed to enjoy it. It was really good. And Santino was,
Starting point is 00:47:30 was being Santino on the show and the things he said, so much so that, um, I don't even know you can find that episode anymore because when he was like testing for like a network show or he was on it, he's like, you got to take that episode. He asked, he asked me to take it to put it on private. I put it on private. Well, you know what else was, was, so you have an adult film star, you have Santino and it was also, I remember this, it was the night that we had, is that it?
Starting point is 00:47:57 Classic episode. Is it on there? Is it on it? It was, it was the night that we had gotten a rum sponsor. And it was the first night that we had bottles of rum that were sponsoring the show. I think Makuga had landed a rum sponsor. And so everybody's drinking rum
Starting point is 00:48:13 like from the bottle, like we're pirates. You know? Just like everybody's walking around with a bottle of rum and a peg leg and then you have uh you know adult film star and santino and i'm not there and i'm just like watching all this chaos from afar being like i don't know if i'm ever going to come back that way it was it was hilarious though it was the was the was the was the hilly just put it in the chat for people who want to it's in a hilarious episode santino was on fire was really it was really great um but i didn't it like you know how good kalanowski was in inner geekdom oh yeah he would have been mike tyson night
Starting point is 00:48:47 1986 if there was an adult film Schmoda. Really? I was just, I could not believe it. He enjoys them. One show we were doing, and he's firing off these names, and you might as well have been talking about Italian cinema to me, because I didn't know any of the people he was bringing up. Wow.
Starting point is 00:49:05 Is this a story you told your wife? 100%. And so he's going, but he's going through all these names. I mean, I can go old school. I can, you know, just some old school peeps. I know. I know, I'm a babe in the woods. I know nothing.
Starting point is 00:49:16 Back in the day, sure. But like I, you know, like I said, I'm doing a ride at home. So when it, look at old Mikey. Yeah. Wow. But so he's got, so he's got, um, this roster. And so he brings up and his one name keeps popping up and he brings Penny Barber, Penny Barber, Penny Barber.
Starting point is 00:49:34 Yeah. So the audience is like, started tweeting at her and stuff too. She's like, talk to my publicist about it, or the person who books it. And we did. And we brought her on the show. And it was a great conversation where we just, she's like a massive film fan. Right. So we were talking to her about, and like, obscure type of movies and shit too, right?
Starting point is 00:49:49 Yeah. But she, so we were talking to her about that and other things. And she was on. And then she was in New York. And I went to in person at Gotham. I was, I had an interview with her. She's really cool lady. Okay.
Starting point is 00:50:00 So then she came on for the show. But Mike, there's another thing. He just, in the first interview with her, shut down. And it was like me interviewing Julia. Did he keep his clothes on? He tried to. But it was me interviewing Julia Roberts. It's like he didn't get couldn't get the words out.
Starting point is 00:50:18 Remember, remember when you were in bed and your and your, and your, your, your, your, and your, your, your, your, your, your, your, your, your, the truth farley. It's like, yeah. Remember when the plumber showed up to your house and, and he fixed the sink, but then, but then he didn't leave? And you were on one leg. Um, so, like he, uh, so then for the stream, I, I gave him five minutes. The audience hit a certain goal. I gave him five minutes to talk to her all on his own.
Starting point is 00:50:42 And he did. And it went. you know, and I jumped in at the right time because it was starting to get into a thing that would probably get in the whole stream taken down. But anyway, so we've got, and this is, this is even better. Like this, and this is the thing. Like, so we all now, because we follow her and this, this, I got to show you this clip because you'll, you'll get a kick out of this. Okay. This is a classic clip right now. Where is it? It's, um, so we were talking to Mike at one point me, Maxi and Mike. And then this happened. Where the hell is it? I always,
Starting point is 00:51:12 Kelly, we've got to design these things better. Where the hell is? Look at this wall of sound bites. I know. This animal has access to. It's somewhere here. I got to find it. You are a kid in a candy store.
Starting point is 00:51:23 Do you see it? Is it towards us? I got to show Ellis. Oh, here it is. I got it. AI sluts. AI sluts. What was that?
Starting point is 00:51:32 What are you looking at? What are you looking at? You're muted, Mike. You muted yourself. What are you looking at right now? That came up. Don't lie. that said AI.
Starting point is 00:51:43 I have my Twitter and because I follow Penny Barber the shit that I get on my Twitter I'll tell you this with my Twitter and her What was it? What was it? It was an ad that she re-tosted.
Starting point is 00:51:55 So let me tell you this Because I follow her I don't want unfollow her but some of the stuff that comes on my thread when I'm in public like it's like I'm in line at Chipotle and I'll be scrolling on Twitter. I follow her too
Starting point is 00:52:05 and that doesn't happen to me. What do you want me to tell you? What do you want me to tell you? And so I told her about that. And then she called him out on the tour. She's like, that's not true. I don't know what he's, what he's doing.
Starting point is 00:52:20 So, yeah, so those are moments that we have on this show. And then the other one that I tell famously is how you and Ken cornered me, the Toad Hop about, after Finstock's first of France. Oh, yeah, yeah,
Starting point is 00:52:33 we walked out, we're going to our usual post show tradition at that point, which was, I think it was probably Wednesday, no, it was Thursday night. Yeah. And it's like,
Starting point is 00:52:40 do the show, then go across the street, get some beers at Buffalo Wild Wings and we go outside of the we were going we were at and we're like we we can't ever have that guy again thinking that you would be like yeah that was a disaster sorry about that like never happened again and you're like what and I was like he was awful he said he both cornered me he was off putting no remember what Ken said he's a liability he's a liability and I go I said listen I said look I classic pit boss delivery I said guys you have to trust me on this It's like it might have not been the best, but he's, the audience is going to love him.
Starting point is 00:53:14 And then Ellis goes, all right. And then the second time, and then Ellis, to his credit, because he goes, all right, that was good. That was fun. It was better. Yeah, it was better. So there you go. All right. So here's how the show works.
Starting point is 00:53:26 Guy of beard mask. Yeah. So now what we're going to do is we've gotten to that place where the audience has thrown in a bunch of questions. Why are you doing this like it's a sex talk? Well, folks, we've got to that place. And the audience has questions about boys and girls. and AI sex bots, and we're going to talk about them.
Starting point is 00:53:43 Yeah, 100%. So we are going to start with this. You have questions, we have answers. Nathan Drake, what's up, baby, Karen? I don't remember if either of you gave a zero out of five schmose to any movies. I think I did. Yeah, I think there's one. You definitely did.
Starting point is 00:53:58 What's S and C2 maybe? What's that? Second of the City, too. Oh, I don't know if I gave it a zero. No, we didn't finish it. We didn't do zero for that. I think, I think, year one. Not year one.
Starting point is 00:54:09 the one with Sophia Vergara and what's her face? Oh, Hot Pursuit. I think I might have given that zero. Yeah, I think I might have too. It was awful. It was really bad. That might have been one that I can think of. G.I. Joe, Rise of Cobra, we were so downtrodden after, but I don't think it was a zero. Yeah. But Hot Pursuit is one that comes up. Yeah. Nathan Drake, does Ellis still stand behind his five for five for at least even 13 hours? Yeah. You know, it's weird. I definitely stand by at 13 hours. I watched that movie like at once a year. Really?
Starting point is 00:54:40 It's so good. I haven't seen it since we saw it. And it's so much fun to watch because that was the movie that it was still just Krasinski was like Jim from the office. And it's like, what is this guy going to do in a Benghazi movie? And you know as soon as like they get into that little hot scenario, like when they're kind of like blocked in on that, that little alleyway.
Starting point is 00:54:57 And he just like pulls the gun up like this. Oh my God. Jim from the office. And then and so you get to see him becoming Jack Ryan in that movie. So that's kind of cool. But it's also just so, so well made. And it's like, five out of five.
Starting point is 00:55:09 I got Michael Bay by it's like dude you get you why can't you do this every time Elysium I have actually not seen since we saw in the theater but I it was pretty you know the scene where the robot blows up they do like the 360 matrix thing pretty sweet I haven't thought about that movie since we saw you love Jody Foster in that no it you loved her accent it's really bad Connor Mullis Mark what's your favorite brand of paper tawny James uh diesel official what's up James my two dads are back for though been watching since Shmo's that shows no episode seven draft. Whoever won that. It's a great question. I don't remember. When I was in high school,
Starting point is 00:55:42 I always got a support. Do you remember who did win that? I don't remember. It was probably whoever, because you and I were probably going after big names. Like, I remember Tom Hardy was off the board. I might have won. But I think I had, I think, because I had Andy Circus. Well, we started getting in there because, like, I think you could draft like Anthony Daniels and like stuff like that. And it's like, whoever like cherry picked those kind of ones. Yeah, I, maybe I did, me or Riley. I think I think actually Riley won. Yeah, one of the one of those two. It's the doc, Doc.
Starting point is 00:56:09 I'm in Philly and tempted to make the drive. Do it. Marisol McKee and Adam Collins are doing the same thing. Do it, Doc. Tough with work, though. Come on, you only live once, and we don't know we're going to do this again. But Mark and Christian. We know where we're doing it now. I know.
Starting point is 00:56:21 We're watching Saturdays. Have a great show. Yes, so we're going to be doing, Luke, you can't do this. Luke, can you put the new banner in there so I can highlight a pretty bowl. Who are these people you're talking to? Well, Luke, you have never been. They're not in the office.
Starting point is 00:56:34 You didn't come in. greet them. Luke watches. You just, you sat down, you hit a couple of buttons and we started the show. Right. And now you're just talking to people who aren't here. Look, listen, I have voices in my head. And I, and I, and if that's, if that's what gets me through the day, we'll you to judge. I mean, you just got to think at the corner bar, everybody kind of thinks Luke's a bit of a wackadoo. It's like, look, man. Look, can the guy make rocks move? Sure. He talks to people who aren't there. Right. And I don't. Walker told me I had AIDS. all time great episode of Walker Texas Ranger it is um okay the next one here and
Starting point is 00:57:09 edit the movies can't stick around because work we want to show some love to Ellis there you go Ed love seeing you too and I'll cast a replay Christian up in my pledge soon we got this thank you for yeah buddy I haven't really talked about it too much we're still like the 340 range is what we're trying to get to by the 23rd because we've got some people hopefully lined up that we're really going to put, I think, did I tell you one of these people that's interested right now? You told me a couple of names last night that was pretty excited. Right. So if that
Starting point is 00:57:38 that goes down, you know, but we're going to have to match their quote. So fingers crossed. You hit the goal, which means you're in the playoffs. We're making. We're making a show. We're we want to make the push to, you know, Super Bowl. That's right. Well, I also said it's like, you know, it's like you buy a house and now you want to put
Starting point is 00:57:54 the, you want to make the best house possible. Yeah, yeah. You want to put some nice furniture in there, a couple throw rugs. Yeah. He says no comment. Baby Caris is here. Time to do the John Claude Van Dam kickboxer dance. I will tell you that I've never seen two people more disappointed when we were doing
Starting point is 00:58:09 the interview with John Claude Van Dam. And I, it was like everything that I lived for when it comes to interviews. Where both McCouga and Ellis, Ellis came in just for that interview. What the hell is this guy taught? This guy's on Mars. And he came.
Starting point is 00:58:26 And I was fascinated. Yeah. And I'm sitting there talking to him. and they wanted me to go into talking about sudden death. Ask him about hard target. And any time that I did, even going close to it, or they tried, right turn into he would take it into Lala. It's a space.
Starting point is 00:58:43 Yeah. And I was fascinated. And I loved every bit of it. And I would have interviewed him for it. It was like the other one that we did that you weren't in the room for, but was Richard Dreyfus. I remember you walking out of the Dreyfus interview and being like, we got like seven hours of footage.
Starting point is 00:58:58 I the guy would not stop talking I was supposed to do a half an hour with him and he wanted to keep talking and we we talked for two hours and 45 minutes and so much so Riley came in and his publicist like left and went to Panera they were trying to like get him and they were like telling him not to say certain things like and and so it was it was that was another was great and then it wasn't an interview but I always told that Gary Busey story on the rooftop I told you oh my gosh yeah this is a Unbelievable. Boy, how your life could have taken a change. PLD, I found that I can do a new impression. I found this out today. I was telling us. It's literally how he greeted me. I opened the car door and he just starts talking as this.
Starting point is 00:59:41 I said, I have a new impression I've had because my daughter has been revisiting and well, I'm revisiting season one. She's never seen it of South Park. Okay. So it's, I don't know, I figured it out, but. Wait until she meets Towie. I know, she will.
Starting point is 00:59:56 I gotta tell you. We get high. I got to tell you guys. Your daughter seemed really excited to be opening the South Park box for the first time. And I am so excited for her to eventually get to the Ginger Cow episode, which is the great, maybe the greatest. It's up there with Muppet Babies as far as the greatest episode. Which one is it? The Muppet Baby Star Wars episode.
Starting point is 01:00:16 No, no, no, which? Ginger Cow, where they find there's only one way to make peace in the Middle East and thus all of the world. It's uniting the major religions. And what season is that? I think it's season seven. Oh my God, we got a long way to go for that. But once it happens, there's like a cow that has red hair in South Park, and that's like a sign.
Starting point is 01:00:37 That's a sign in every religion that something big is about to happen. And the big thing that happens is just incredible. I'm going to find out who. I'm telling you. That was, I was like, wait a minute. I think I can do that. All right. Let's see.
Starting point is 01:00:55 Let's go to the next one. Hank Pim, what are some of your favorite bad? movie reviews i love the hot pursuit there you go and sex in the city too sex in the city two is an all-time classic i still watch that every once in a while yeah i miss being able to go back and watch them i think we we offer them on patreon we offer a lot of them on patreon um we were cooking that interview what's another bad movie that we saw dumb and dumb and dumb and too yes but that review is more famous not because we were disappointed in the movie that reviews of the beginning because of the dog yeah yeah and it's the same way there's two things there's two my two
Starting point is 01:01:27 favorite videos of all time that we did that was dumb and dumber two and the best who was the best and worst of oh was it was it was it was it was either harrison ford it wouldn't have i don't think we did sean connery so oh it might have been spielberg it could have been spielberg right but i think it was i think it was harrison for it was one of it was when we and we talked about indiana chones in the last crusade and i the three-year-old of me brought up alison duty and started laughing about it and And Ellis at first was like, here we go. This is what I work with all the time. And then he starts getting into it.
Starting point is 01:01:59 He goes, well, it's my duty to tell you now. And we start crying, laughing because it went on forever. It went on forever. And it was kind of the opposite with the dumb and dumber two thing because I was still awake. I think I might even like had to go out because we saw the movie at like seven at the grove. And then we went back to my place, which was like right around the corner. And so we're rolling, we're rolling cameras like 930, 10.
Starting point is 01:02:18 And you are beat. And I'm about to go out and do a set. And you were just, I remember how tired you were. You were just like falling asleep. Yeah. You just wanted to trudge through this thing. You didn't like the movie. It's like, what do we've been doing here?
Starting point is 01:02:29 What are we doing with our lives? And that dog started barking. But that wasn't the first thing. First thing was the noise. Oh, right. That's what set the dog off. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:37 What set the dog off was the noise. That's right. So Mark does, Mark, I'm like just out of it. And Mark does the most annoying, the most annoying sound. Yeah, yeah. It's so loud. And he had no idea it was going to do it. No.
Starting point is 01:02:48 And it just startled me. We said crying, laughing. But it was so loud that there was a dog going, I wrote, row, row, because he got scared. And we, it just went on. That's what broke you and you're like, okay, now we're going to have some fun. Do you know whose dog that was? No.
Starting point is 01:03:00 I know who's Sherry O'Terry's? It was Sherry-O-Terry's. Was it really? That's hilarious. Sherry O'Terry used to love my oldest when you used to come over to swim in the pool. And Sherry O'Reilly loved Vivian. Yeah. Yeah. Her dog and Molly the Wonder Dog were, were housed. Oh, wow. Wow.
Starting point is 01:03:17 You got to try to go through the archives and bring up the Allison Duty moment and the dumb and dumber. You got to bring those up. The dumb and dumber two is right at the beginning. Allison Dutty, it's a best and worst. So if you see a best and worst of somebody who had something to do with Indiana Jones and the last crusade.
Starting point is 01:03:35 And it might even, you know what it also might have been? If you can't find it in those, there's a potential. It was Cape Lanchette. It's potential. Only because we were talking about the worst being a crystal skull. Yeah. And that maybe we related it somehow.
Starting point is 01:03:49 She was no, Allison duty. That could have, it could have, It could have been. It is a funny name. It's very, it very well might be Cape Planchette. She talks in her sleep. Yeah. Hank Pim.
Starting point is 01:03:59 What, we did that one? Thank you. Okay. The Lunar Assassin. Yeah, I got him. I got him for a little bit, guys.
Starting point is 01:04:05 And once we, you're right. Once we're done with the, what is this? Oh, yeah, I know. Sorry. We'll do that in a second.
Starting point is 01:04:10 But once we finish this up, you know, all the questions, please, I don't know the next time we're going to have Mark in studio. So ask him anything. It's going to be a while. It's going to go get some pizza.
Starting point is 01:04:20 Can I have a slice of the barada? You can. I'll let you have it. The Lunar Assassin, sorry, Prussian, but Ray's up. Yeah, look, you guys played much better and you didn't make stupid decisions. They're a good ball club, yeah. They're really good. Also, love seeing the band back together. I hope the show is awesome.
Starting point is 01:04:34 The thing is that I have family stake in as far as the raise go because my dad and my brother. Oh, yeah, that's right. My dad, my brother, my dad roots for both because he lives in Tampa for so long. He roots for both, and that's totally fair. My brother's a GD term coat. He's a turncoat. He really is. He's a turncoat.
Starting point is 01:04:51 Yeah. But he owns it. He owns. And great hair on that guy. Yeah. He owns it. God, what a head of hair. But they so, but I still, I don't, I don't hate the race.
Starting point is 01:05:00 I just don't. I just don't. But I, you know, I didn't want them to win. Yeah. But I don't hate them. PJ Campbell, there he is. Well, you're a guy. Run to the 7-11 for water bottles and course light before the show goes live.
Starting point is 01:05:12 Has anyone seen a predator costume? What are you eating there? What is that? You see that picture? I'm going to go with a tie. He's in Arizona. no, so I'm going to go with some sort of taco burrito joint. He's got a good food palate, PJ.
Starting point is 01:05:24 So he's, so that's good. Last time PJ came to LA, you know what he, there's some bar in Wilshire, like mid-Wilcher that, uh, and that whole area is just like different than when we lived like near there. Like, like, you know, like LeBray and stuff like that? He found this bar, it's really cool bar,
Starting point is 01:05:40 kind of like big outdoors. And they make, uh, I believe it's a Baja blast that don't drink. Okay. Um, so I think he was having them virgin. But, uh,
Starting point is 01:05:48 because PJ is 14 years old. But we, we, and J.T. I think is still nine. Every time I see JT, he just looks like a nine-year-old, right? 100%. But these Baja blasts frozen drinks were just, is there ever a occupation that is better suited?
Starting point is 01:06:02 Oh my God, he took his glasses off like he's going to have a serious. Is there, is there ever an itch in your groin? Wait to hear what I say. Is there ever a better occupation suited for an individual than JTE walking dogs? Oh, he's perfect.
Starting point is 01:06:19 There's no, never better yeah uh all right j morgan baby carrie's been listening to old episodes of rotten tomatoes is wrong at work lately miss you talking movies oh what's up cage but he's but he's still talking movies he's you got to catch his interviews on uh on rotten tomatoes yeah man they put me to work over there at fandango rotten tomatoes has uh has been very good to me and uh we've uh i've gotten to do a lot of cool stuff i do it on the street show we're just going the street interview the local wherever i'm at and then some big some big interviews that are literally sometimes even called the big ticket i see your interviews all the time. You just, you like, you just did we just had the street fighter guy.
Starting point is 01:06:52 So how was Cody Rhodes? He was great. He and, and between me and Cody Rhodes were kind of like rangling everybody else because they're just so excited bouncing off the walls and stuff. And Andrew Schultz was in the interview. I know him. Okay. And David Desmalsh and I know him a little bit. Yeah, yeah. We've done Dougloff movies together a couple times. So I know some of them, but like they were they're just chomping at the bit to just talk about making this movie. I have no idea if it's good or not. But they, because I haven't seen it, but they, they, they were really just a fun group to talk to i'm seeing that one next week as well okay well you got to let me know because mortal combat too earlier this year it was interesting yeah it was awesome the baraka cano storyline yeah yeah
Starting point is 01:07:29 cano is the star of those movies yeah he's the star of this week cheering rodrick my two white dads are back the world is healing uh Connor it's time for you to guess what I'm eating I guess mm okay I'm looking at Connor's mullets and I'm gonna guess a slim gym I'm gonna say a bagel sandwich with sourcrown mustard and ketchup, you'd be incorrect. I'm eating a bagel. Look at that. But he even robedoed me because I would have argued that Bratworth is much closer to what I had guessed, which was a slim gym, but he just completely ran a lap around me. You're going to give me any credit that I got the bagel? No, because that's, you literally didn't even acknowledge it as a food. You didn't, you are programmed to say bagel once every 10 minutes. No, I'm going to say the reason. In your sleep, just bagel. Do you know why you don't acknowledge that? Because I cheated. All right. Bajara. Ellison said sinners was his favorite film of 2025.
Starting point is 01:08:22 He plans to invest in original films like it. Is this just talk, fired people who greenlit that and won battle after or another? Well, Dana Goldberg, oh my gosh, sorry. You're thinking you. I literally read that as Ellis said, and I was like, I was like, yeah, I love sinners. It might have been my favorite movie.
Starting point is 01:08:39 Then the investment part comes, and I'm like, what did I say? Or you could say, my son. What? Yeah. Chance Ellison. Chance his birthday today, by the way. Happy birthday, Jesus.
Starting point is 01:08:50 I own a text back, but don't text me after a loss. No. I'm not going to write you back. That's fair. But we don't know if it's talking about. Because remember, he's also got Dana Goldberg still there. And I've raved about her. And so he still has two.
Starting point is 01:09:05 He's not trying to do the executive thing on his own right now. He's keeping the paramount executives that he had in place. And they're not just randomly some random people that, like, oh, they don't know what they're doing. They've got experience. and they've got a lot of hits under their hands and they could potentially do this. So if they want to go and try to do this as well, I say, let's see first. So maybe it was his favorite film of 2025. Who knows? What do you think?
Starting point is 01:09:28 I think he could have loved sinners. I hate mergers. Yeah, yeah. I don't like corporate mergers. That's right. Because it feels like they squeeze all the art out of everything and they're talking about stuff as commodities. And they're just trying to make more money and maybe you just spend a little bit on a little less on movies like Digger. And, you know, because it was a great movie.
Starting point is 01:09:45 You didn't need to spend that much money. No, I'm still like, this is, I'm pleading with freaking like a universal. If they make a $80 million Jurassic Park movie, you know, the amount of profit they would make on that movie. It'd be, you market, it essentially would cost about $180 million in general. If you put about $100 million of marketing into an $80 million movie because it's Jurassic Park, lesser known actors, a more kind of like Terminator, one type of feel with it, you know, and like you go gritty with it. That to me, because you're going to at least make $500 million on it tops, you know, at the minimum.
Starting point is 01:10:22 I don't know how much predator badlands cost or how much prey cost. But I don't think that they cost nearly as much as what you'd expect a huge blockbuster to. And again, you look at horror movies, you know, like obsession and backrooms. They keep teaching us the same lesson. And nobody outside of that genre wants to learn that you don't have to spend necessarily a lot of money to make these movies. But they can turn a huge profit for you if you have a cool idea. Do you know which movie did it right in the blockbuster realm? That was Godzilla versus Kong.
Starting point is 01:10:54 More Godzilla and Kong movie. I think that movie costs $110 million to make or something. Okay. And it made hand over fist because you didn't spend too much money with too much top-tier talent or whatever it was. There was good talent in it. I mean, the talent is. Yeah. Godzilla and Kong.
Starting point is 01:11:13 I shouldn't say, yeah, that's right. That's right. But I mean, the actor is like Dan Stevens is in and he's great, but he doesn't cost a lot. Right. You know, and so anyway, I hope that they do that. Sean, okay, what's up? Christian, Mark, PLD, and the same way on a live stream. I must be having a fever dream.
Starting point is 01:11:28 Much love, lad, see you later today. See you at governors. Yes, remember, Levittown. Make sure spread the word, PLD. I mean, not PLD. Ed, I'm sure Ed's already put out 12 tweets. I'm going to retweet all of them. If you're a fan in the area, go outside, get yourself a sandwich board and just write that it's
Starting point is 01:11:44 at governors at Levitstown. start spinning it so people see it. Mr. Boy, Yankee, Schmozer back in town. Oh, hi, Ma'am. That little Yankee. PLD in person. Good luck tonight with Jen. Gents, I'll be there in spirit.
Starting point is 01:11:58 Shmoz, no forever. Thank you, Lil Yankee. Well, wait a minute. You're a Yankee guy. You got to be there. Come on. Amata. All right. T. Shmozer back.
Starting point is 01:12:06 By the way, you guys hear that James McAvoy has a directorial debut called California Schemean. Didn't know about it until yesterday. No. I'll watch it. Yeah, me too. I like, I like him. did you see uh did you see the hard movie he did uh which one speak no evil or oh there was a remake
Starting point is 01:12:22 yeah yeah yeah it was creepy man he's a he's he's he's he's he was good uh samir 84 a fun fact mark ellis was on the fourth of force awake yes i was he pop that actor he's i was just trying to think it was it was a brian vernal yeah he was in something recently my irs oh i got i almost had it shit oh my god i just had it where it's something that i saw too it was odyssey oh it was odyssey it was audice and so but he you guys don't look the same anymore no no no no we we kind of we had our force awaken moment that was and then he was in dunkirk he was in dunkirk and then after dunkirk we kind of left the war and parted and went our separate way Connor how many stick sticky notes would it take to cover
Starting point is 01:12:59 the empire state building at least three like that unless it's Tuesday then probably eight yeah Tuesday it's going to cost you a lot of sticky notes Spencer C one uh 1996 better schmose moment dumb and dumber two or bill murray fireside chat what's what's the boomer fireside chat I don't remember a Bill Murray fireside show. So I guess Dumber Dumber too, because I don't remember what that is. You ever met Bill Murray? No. You did? Took a leak next to him. Oh, you told me that. At the Ant Man 3 premiere. We were in
Starting point is 01:13:25 line because it was only one bathroom in the theater. And so we were in line for like 10 minutes talking college basketball. It's great. I told you this story a million times over, but anytime I get a chance to say it has nothing to Bill Murray. But I ever tell you my Gary Marshall story? Yes. Okay, that's my favorite. Sorry, PILD, we're getting to the age.
Starting point is 01:13:40 We're like, did I have a tell you? I go, God, yes, I told us. I've told that story so many times but i love telling it that's great it's just the frisco kid no no no it was the flamingo the flamingo kid so i was i was at it was working it was a new line and and um and when i was there he was coming in for some meeting and he was peeing i'm like well i'm not gonna talk to him he's peeing so i was mr marshall i'm a i'm a huge fan of my favorite movie he's waited for right and i oh that you've done it's like the flamingo kid he goes that one that's the one so then we talked afterwards too um surprised you didn't say pretty woman uh
Starting point is 01:14:14 PJ Campbell 60 Jules, Fox on donut. Thank you. Oh, okay. Langley, what's up? Langley? Where you been? Langley, Neil. Old school. Very, very tall, handsome, Jen.
Starting point is 01:14:25 Alan Smith. Hey, Mark and Christian. Schmo Union in progress. The director. I tried to fly to New York to see your show, but my boy to my arms get tired. That was good. Great to see you together again. I can't wait to see you at the desk for Schmo down.
Starting point is 01:14:36 Merrill Street. Oh, yeah, yeah. We got to have a Merrill Street slice on the wheel. I got to. We still haven't announced to Mark's cohort of the desk is going to be. We don't know you. I'm not doing it. I just assumed there's going to be me in a room.
Starting point is 01:14:48 Spencer C, 1996. Mark, is Elysium still five out of five? It's a six out of five. God damn it. Gets better with age. Connor Moles. What's your favorite beer and why is it Bush Lake? I would drink first of life.
Starting point is 01:14:59 Armada. Show Moroni. Amata, A.I.T. You tell Ellis the Moroni roca prank. Oh, that was the best. That was the best. So we were, because we had put, we'd put grasping straws on the channel. And it's got almost like 40, 40,000 views or something like that.
Starting point is 01:15:13 As it should. But that and the Moroni thing came at one point and then they went in because people will go to Ellis Broca's stream and we'll you know tell him to do stuff to him because he gets so it's so easy and they get so worked up. So we started asking it's like a powder keg all you have to do is like light it. So one of the ones that we did was like we was him and Snyder on the show and we said start asking him is it true that Sean Maroney booked the big role on this on this thing. As a comedian Sean Moroni has his own thing. And so the people kept asking him as Sean Moroni and he was like, oh, Sean Moroni is. I don't know who that is. I'm looking at, he's looking up at IMDB and he couldn't find them. It's pretty good.
Starting point is 01:15:50 That's pretty good. That's so funny. Tommy Zami. I called in once during Toad Hop era. Mark was getting criticism for his man of steel review. I thought he was valid. Mark saying getting support from Florida, I made my 16 year old self.
Starting point is 01:16:01 I'm 30 now. Got to see you guys. That's amazing. Well, do you know, that was the, that I bring up the man of steel review quite often because at the time. That was the moment.
Starting point is 01:16:12 We saw the underbelly of comments. 100% and at the time when that came in, I was like, oh, DC fans are terrible. But then I, but then I was like, they're not Star Wars fans. Star Wars fans are wonderful. And Marvel fans are just the best. And then, you know, progression shows you that everybody's terrible. It really is. It's like, oh, I don't hate them as much as now I hate them.
Starting point is 01:16:33 And then it just keeps going round and around. You just can't take anything too seriously. You can have confidence in your own opinion. I stand by the Man of Steel stuff. Like it, didn't love it. Winter Soldier, I was probably a little too. hard on because I saw that at like a midnight. Oh, did you not like one and a
Starting point is 01:16:46 I liked it. I just didn't think it was like great and now I watch it. I'm like, this is pretty great. Andre's what's up man? Andre. Sorry I won't be coming in New York tonight. That's a long drive. Training my John Stewart at work currently, sending my love and cheers fellows. Thank you so much.
Starting point is 01:17:03 Been watching lanterns? I missed the finale, but I've seen, I'm waiting for Sam because she's been sick so we're going to watch it. Got to talk to those guys. They were great. They were so much fun to talk to. Enrique, Enrique,
Starting point is 01:17:16 did Digger Flaw because Tom Cruise didn't look like Tom Cruise? Also, you have to do a second viewing before you make up your mind, reaction with Sam. So definitely going to watch it with Sam. I'm going to tell you that I think Sam's going to hate it if I was to guess. But we'll see.
Starting point is 01:17:29 And that's not a crazy question to see. One of the reasons for mainstream audience. It is. Mainstream audience is seeing him like that. You know, the guy's a good looking guy. and maybe seeing him like that, people are like, eh, I'm not interested.
Starting point is 01:17:45 I already saw Lex Grossman is not even the same thing at all. But I'm very upset that you ever mentioned one mention of Chuckie wearing the Knicks hat. I'm not going to dress the Knicks hat, but that's what Chuckie is who basically I had nightmares about. Nick's Chuckie during the NBA finals. But it's like, here's the thing.
Starting point is 01:18:01 Tom Cruise is a movie star. We can all acknowledge that, right? Even Tom Cruise was struggling to sell movies in the mid-2000s, right? Even Mission Impossible 3, which is a really good movie, didn't do the box office that they had kind of hoped. And so he really took Ghost Protocol and him doing like the craziest stunt ever to kind of get Mission Impossible back to where we know these movies is going to be billion dollar bangers every time.
Starting point is 01:18:22 So even Tom Cruise has his limits as a movie star. And we've seen in the last 15 years, he hasn't gone out of that wheelhouse too much, you know? Yeah. Like even like the Reacher movies you tried to make weren't good and they didn't do that well. And it's like it. So even Tom Cruise, you can't just put him on a poster and everybody's going to go see it. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:38 But there is something to the fact that it, even if they knew is Tom Cruise, they look at that poster and they know it's not a mission impossible. They know it's not Tom Cruise being Lieutenant Pete Mitchell. And it's the IP, man. The IP sells. It's not the movie.
Starting point is 01:18:52 But here's the thing. You didn't have to spend $100 million on Mark. You could have spent zero on marketing and probably would have done the same thing. Maybe. Bitch boy. I love Mark Ellis. Thank you, bitch boy. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:19:03 Triple six. Luke. Two Jewel, Silver Star. Thank you. Do you love... Are these code words? No, this is a thing that's stickers. You awakening the winter soldier?
Starting point is 01:19:12 They send these things. You just can't see it. It's an actual silver star. Cool. Do you love the clip? There is a lot. Mark will, and I will send each other
Starting point is 01:19:19 Instagram things that we enjoy. Normally it's usually fights and golf or stuff. Yeah. But do you enjoy the clip of, wouldn't you know weather boy? Have you seen that one? Oh, it's so.
Starting point is 01:19:31 Anytime you set something up like that, I tread very lightly. No, no, no, no. It's like, I don't know what you're doing. No, no, no, no. It's true. So you've seen this before. So this you know not? Oh my God. It's look it up. Look it up. Wouldn't you like to know weather boy? Let's look it up. So this kid, he's standing this and they and they I don't know what he's talking about the 4th of July. This reporter goes up to this kid. And he's like, hey, so what are the 4th of July? And how are you feeling about it? And he looks up and he goes, wouldn't you like to know weather boy? He's like, we're like to know weather boy. It's great. See, if you can find it just.
Starting point is 01:20:08 text it to me and I'll I'm going to play it. This is the best. Brooke Lansford, do you guys watch Reacher? It seems like something you guys would love, especially Mark. I watched season one and I really enjoyed it and just never got back to it. Yeah, it's great.
Starting point is 01:20:20 It's great. It's one of my, come home, you know, take the dog on a walk and then she'll pop up my lap. We'll watch Reacher kicks him ass. Yeah. Okay. And Nealia here is really good too. So,
Starting point is 01:20:30 all right. So he sent it to me. I'm going to see, I want to make sure that you can hear it. but it's this is it's it's really phenomenal hello it's phenomenal uh you're you're it's it's such it's such your kind of clip this is now my most anticipated movie yeah the kids the kids delivery is like phenomenal um there here it is so if you guys have not seen this before you're in for a trade all right so a customer out here uh what's uh what's the best kind of firework to buy wouldn't
Starting point is 01:21:05 you like to know weather boy where are your parents kid's sketchy back to me guys kid's sketchy way to go way to get him back a little bit because you can't
Starting point is 01:21:19 you can't slap a kid not on camera but that was that was great weather boy oh my god we got to clip that out yeah absolutely clip that we'd be like no weather boy all right crazy
Starting point is 01:21:30 this is from hair live crazy how Mark's name was on the crazy comedy night with Chappelle Kanye Rogan during COVID and please bring in Bobby Finstock IRS has been up his ass. Have you had him on the show? He's called in like once or twice, but you can't find him. He's on the golf course.
Starting point is 01:21:50 He's a rogue these days. Even more so. He did call me and I spoke to him after we hit our goal. He spoke for a little bit of time. He was asking for a part. Michael D. Roses of red, violet, it blew the machines rose up thanks to Mild Stuyason and you. we were even doing we were walking to get caught this boy we were even doing the impression of him at the
Starting point is 01:22:11 end of tea to the i think miles dyson is dead miles dyson alan smithy mark love that you have a new dog going your life we all miss molly the wonder dog so much is the new puppy a shared animal are you a stepfather or a real father i'm a real daddy there you go i'm a real daddy this time where's mr cook oh he's he's not familiar with mr cook I don't have the full I don't have the full clip but I can show some of it. What happened to the full
Starting point is 01:22:40 clip? They deleted by accident? Look at that face. Look at that sweet face. Oh my God. Oh, she's so cute. So I don't have the full clip which's amazing. And Pildee, unfortunately, it's here so you can't give it. But this is look at the red coat. You have offended me for the very last time, Mr. Cook.
Starting point is 01:23:01 You saw that it that was, right? No, wait, wait. Do it again. Look at the red coat. You have offended me for the very last time, Mr. Cook. Yeah, that's my... What was that? It's something that he did in school, but there's a longer clip of it. And the guy, the guy smacks him in the face.
Starting point is 01:23:18 And then the girl hits the guy back and the guy goes, oh. So good. So good. I don't know why we deleted that. I definitely did that. Is that like Florida State era? I think so. Okay.
Starting point is 01:23:28 I think so. Okay. Purdue, F&R. I think I'm still, I think I'm still sub to Ellis's Patreon. It doesn't have five years worth of two and aes. I keep trying to shut it down. They won't let you. It's weird.
Starting point is 01:23:39 Don't let you shut it down. So I owe you eight cents. Yeah. Griffin's Shaw Media, just sending support for the Smows. Thank you so much for that. Thank you, Bitch boy is a member.
Starting point is 01:23:48 Thank you, thank you, thank you. Excited to have you as a member. I bring the bitch. Yeah. Look at that. It's so stupid.
Starting point is 01:23:56 Look at the picture. Oh, look at you. Ryan S. Have a great show this evening. Thank you, Ryan. Gentlemen, wish I could be there. Will any of the shows be recorded and
Starting point is 01:24:03 shared to the channel later. I don't know about him because he doesn't normally like to do it. It's private. You can hear it on serious XM. I hope. You would. I had a serious XM joking. You just went right over before in the beginning of the show.
Starting point is 01:24:17 It's all I have. I don't even have that anymore. I know. So Ryan, thank you, man. Yeah, I might record mine and I might air it depending on how it goes. We'll definitely record it.
Starting point is 01:24:28 Rapid Raoul. So glad that Allison Dutie brought up. That's my favorite. That's pretty great. PILD will find it. Uh, go pal. I only see commercials during the Wake for the WFT. Washington football team. Oh, I see. But WTG Fox five ran approximately one million of them for Digger during the first couple of games. Yeah, I mean, you'd see stuff, but I don't know, apparently didn't bring anybody on a theater.
Starting point is 01:24:49 So, yeah. Ed, my heart is full. What's up, Hey. Can't wait for tonight. Chris and I deleted my comedy show post, post, a new one with the old love it, uh, thumbnail posted it on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. What a stud. Include me on and I'll retweet it because I got to do it. I got to do some, uh, clean up after this. Uh, Dat Kit, K1 on my lunch break, had to jump when I saw the Shmow's show. I love seeing you guys back together. Definitely going to do your 40-day master because thank you. Yeah, you can sign up for it now. If people haven't done that already, it's our show is trending.com and that is there. So I hope to see a lot of you guys there. And we'll be pushing out even more so once we get to, once we're going to close it out on the 23rd. So we're excited to get everybody. So thank you, Dad Kid. I appreciate it.
Starting point is 01:25:28 Michael D. Oh, hi, Mark. Look at ridiculous picture. That is really good. Is that, that's a dude for From Iron Man 3. Modoc, yeah. That above the line roundtable sketch you did was the best. Is that the one with George Lucas and stuff? Oh, yeah, the deep fake one. Yeah, gave me a good laugh during a shitty time, watched it so many times. So that was really good.
Starting point is 01:25:47 God, that was a crew. George Lucas, like, again, I love the challenge of not breaking. And Josh Robert Thompson, he pushed me to about as far as I've ever been pushed. He came on SCN when we were doing it. And he was doing Morgan Freeman as George of Banks. It was the best thing. Yeah. It was the best.
Starting point is 01:26:02 Speaking of George Lucas, I went to the Lucas Museum. Oh, how was that? A couple days ago. Great. Great. And there's like a Star Wars section. It's really cool the way they do it,
Starting point is 01:26:12 but there's like, there's Americana sections. There's like manga, not manga, manga sections. And there's like comic book strips and stuff like that. So there's a lot of Norman Rockwell's there. There's a lot of like,
Starting point is 01:26:24 you know, there's just a lot of history there that has nothing to do with Star Wars. It's just Lucas's collection. And I ate at Skywalker, grill. Oh, fabulous burger. Really?
Starting point is 01:26:33 And, yeah, but then you go into, like, the cinema area where all the Star Wars stuff is. I, I was there. I met the original,
Starting point is 01:26:42 the actual R2D2. Oh, like the actual R2. Oh, really? That's great. It was in, did you go on your own fruition or for work?
Starting point is 01:26:48 Of my own volition. Yeah. Just wanted to go, really for the burger. That's great. It's a good burger. Okay, let's see.
Starting point is 01:26:56 Space Cowboys, Chris, may the Schwartz be with you more. You guys hype for Space Balls, too? I am. Very much, so. You know why?
Starting point is 01:27:03 I hear good things. Rick Moranis. I hear good things. I know a couple writers. Oh, do you? And I hear good things. And I hear good things about the movie, so I'm kind of excited about that. It's me, Steve-o.
Starting point is 01:27:14 Hi-de-ha-haw! Huge fan of the schmoes since Cartoon Cat and AMC movie talk. Also, Mark, great interview with the Street Fighter cast. Wish I could go tonight, but Bill's got to get paid. Fair enough. Kill it tonight, fellas. And Jen, Trent. Trent.
Starting point is 01:27:30 it come on like i said one night only one night only he's got to work so what so do i he's got pay bills i do too armada you guys seen your mother with isn't it your mother your mother your mother with myershala i want to see it i heard it's good that's awesome too i definitely want to see it jennie hundred jewels marshmallow thank you jennie look who's in the chat is jakey takes ellis to get jillis to get out to the show but thank you ellis for gracing long island with your presence i'll see you in 30 minutes at that pizza place yeah you got to meet us at the pizza place. Apparently they got Peritino. Actually was hoping I was crossed my fingers. We're going to see Jake
Starting point is 01:28:03 today. Jake, we still gotta get together. He's not too far. Great dude. Fabulous out of hair. I haven't seen him in a while, but he's a good dude. Space Cowboy Chris, I still wish Ray would have been Han and Leah's daughter, would have work, and she and Kylo had a lot of character similarities to Jason and Janus Holo for the EU novels.
Starting point is 01:28:21 May the Forest be with you guys. PLT is shuddering right now because I was talking shit about Star Wars. Look. Ray is Han and Lay. It could have been interesting. I think they set up, they set up this thing with Han and Ray where he knew more,
Starting point is 01:28:36 it seemed like he knew more than he did. And they never, they never got paid off. It was kind of shitty. So yeah, I mean, anything they would have done whether it would have been better what they did.
Starting point is 01:28:46 We're going to have to get over it, guys. Yeah. David Jodea, what's up, David? Just writing in to say hi to Mark Ellis. Today's show's bringing back on the nostalgia since I started listening to you both the AMC day. Keep up the great work.
Starting point is 01:28:56 Both of you. Thank you, David. Dave. David did a really nice video on, nice DJ. He had seen this video pop up on my I don't know how it showed up but I found it from him and he did this thing on me Um just you know kind of what I've been doing and in general The history of Harlowf just is just in generally what you know just for highlighting some of the stuff that I've been doing it was just a really nice kind of put together video and I yeah you should he's a good guy you step back every so often you know David's a good guy mr. I crap and shits
Starting point is 01:29:23 saw a meme going around making fun of two on the sidelines and it's Gary Busey being interviewed this is this was what was what's his face um jeff uh who who's god our friend get there your friend who the comedian the one of you interviewed in the roundtable the downy uh jeff richards oh jeff richard yeah um but he was it was he was um this was nobody realizes that this buttered sausage thing you just see that oh is that is that richard's doing it yeah yeah a buttered sausage the interviewer sounds like a younger harlough that's funny um yeah no jeff richard is a really good um you see guy next to me on the plane here was watching point brink on that point break was offered as a movie selection so i was watching point break on his tv
Starting point is 01:30:04 um you would if an award went to horrible attempt at a uh remake it's point break yeah there's just nowhere to go but down no with that clark bryant 10 jules gold coin thank you two more for now king's port cow what's up man 2499 to rent spider man brand new day and vod do i get a hand shop with that purchase nice to see you baby carrots your fandango interview just pop up on my feed. Yeah, it's like, good to know we're big in Johnson City, Tennessee. Yeah. We think is where is. Yeah. Okay. Well, you know, by the way, but you know why they're doing that, right? Because they're going to keep beefing up this 2.5 billion that they made. They want to keep beefing up and see what the ultimate profit. People are going to pay that. The 25 bucks to rent it.
Starting point is 01:30:48 People are going to pay it. I mean, that's any movie on BOD. That much. Yeah. Or maybe, maybe they're like 1999, but maybe, maybe it's a $5 surcharge for Spice. And I saw it and I was like, okay, you know, it was a movie. Two more left and then we're going to get some pizza. Ron H. Being a hell of a lot more sober these days changed me. I'm glad Ron H. I get what you guys are saying about wearing pants now.
Starting point is 01:31:11 Have a great show, Christian, Mark, and Jen. Thank you, Ron. Nice to fit into some jeans. Yeah, Ron's a major supporter. He went to the gym this morning. I did. I did not. Cannot go tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:31:21 It's funny because I at the minute you said it because I realized, I said to Ellis last night. I'm probably going to hit the gym in the morning and he's going to go. and he's like i will not be doing that and it wasn't it was the only reason it's like the guy that traveled all day long and he wants to be able to rest i was like the second the second you said it does that makes i could have gone i just didn't yeah well i went pretty early trevor give me yeah comics nesbit harlop and baby carrots back together again used to watch schmone's religiously love for it to come back permanently oh fine you said it let's do it i'm moving here i will tell you right now you guys would love me uh listen you guys would welcome me with open arms
Starting point is 01:31:54 The other co-hosts would be have problems because if Ellis lived here, like, poor Chris Carr, I had to move her today because I was like, you know, because I knew, because I knew. I bumped Chris Carr? You bumped Chris Carr. Chris, I'm sorry. I'm not worthy. Yeah. So, yeah, man.
Starting point is 01:32:10 I think Chris graciously stepped aside. She did. 100% she did. To accommodate this idiot. We talked about, we talked about, he and I, when I first started my channel, we were going to do something weekly together. It's just like this is, but he brought it up. up and i think he's 100% right where he's like you know i'll come on the show but shouldn't i just do it when i'm visiting wouldn't that be better and it it is the vibe is just it's it's better in person
Starting point is 01:32:33 but like when are you back in new york well for okay i'm not hopefully soon so i want to do shows in the city i thought i was going to be doing this weekend but i got to fly back uh tomorrow but every so every like every like year and a half yeah christ i get on the phone and we just talk like this grand scheme yeah and we talk numbers and stuff and it's always like oh yeah well maybe for yeah maybe and then you know but it's just kind of fun to dream sometimes it is and that's why this this is the type of thing like we want to do more like if you when if we have made it at like a decision that anytime he's in town and you can be here we'll do one of these if your wife cooks her meatballs she'll do that yeah she was gonna make ziti but it was like she was gonna do me ziti and meatballs i think she's
Starting point is 01:33:12 no she did or champo well i'm glad i went spaghetti meatballs it was a really good yeah uh blaine what brand shirt do you wear uh i you know true classic this is not a true classic this is one this is an an older t-shirt that I've had. But True Classic is one that I, there's a lot. And I have, I have quite a few different brands that I like. So why there's a big Ed Hardy logo on the back? No, not this time. Are they even still a brand? I don't know. The Avengers and nerding. Harloff comedy special, maybe after trending? I never say never. I don't know. What if you, what if you crowdfunded $200,000 just to make a comedy? Oh my God. No, thank you. Right. You're dressed as Tom Cruise from Digger. Right. Imagine that. Right. Nobody,
Starting point is 01:33:50 that's the big joke is that Annie Kaufman style. is that I just did that is no shmow down it's just me talking for fart jokes reading the great gatsby and it's only seven minutes long um yeah so anyway all right guys that was fun thank you so much i really appreciate it and glad mark was able to be here this was great it was good now what are we going to do now fair enough so we are going to go grab some food excited to do that uh make sure once again if you didn't know i think that the new picture is up i hope it is we shall see uh it is Is this the new one? Nope.
Starting point is 01:34:25 Nope. We didn't put the new one in there. Luke's like I'm not watching this show today and he left. Again, you're just talking to people who may not exist. Let me see. I'm trying to find. Let me see if I sent that. Hold on, hold on, hold on.
Starting point is 01:34:39 I'm so excited for this pizza, y'all. This has been hyped up for pretty much since you moved back to long eye. But let me ask you this question, though. Have I ever, like the pizza that I've taken to have I ever steered you wrong? No, you've not. Right. No, you've not. And so that this is in that place.
Starting point is 01:34:53 Remember that place that when I took you last time with my uncle? That place was great. Yeah, it was a Gnos. Yeah, it was a Gnos. But that place was great. This place blows it out of the water. Can't wait. All right.
Starting point is 01:35:03 So I'm going to do this picture. And then I want to show everybody. And then we can call it a day because I want to make sure that everybody has this. Everybody gets to go to governors in Levitown. I'm going to have this in there. Oh, that's not it. Yay. Happy birthday, buddy.
Starting point is 01:35:18 1874. IMG. Where the hell is it? What's happening? IMG 2015. I don't see. Oh, there it is. There we go. All right. Here is the new update coming in. So everybody has it. And Ed, if you want to screenshot that, you can. All right. That is the update. We are at now. We are in Levittown at governors tonight. I hope everybody can be there because if you want to buy, do not go to brokerage. Do not go to Belmore. Make sure. And you know what? Maybe even send this to Kevin Smet's making a short out of it or something that's let people know. But thank you guys again.
Starting point is 01:35:52 Again, I appreciate it. You guys can also go and check out this one trending. If you haven't done it, we're going to be really going towards it on the 23rd. So we hope that you guys are able to get a part of it, be part of it. And this is actually the last one. Here we go. This is Space Cowboy, Chris. Mark, I just saw you, I just saw Sammy Obie do some standup.
Starting point is 01:36:12 You familiar with his work? Yeah, I know. Tonight works for you. Rocks for you, Jen and Christian. Thank you, Space Cowboy. The best. All right. Thank you, guys.
Starting point is 01:36:21 Appreciate it. We'll see you. Thanks to PLD. Thank you to Mark. Thanks to MK and Sam for doing the time coes. Thanks to Luke, Jonathan. And Saul says, yeah, Mark, this ain't Domino's. It's right. 100%. I've never gone wrong. Actually, Domino's kind of let me down. It's like it's cardboard with sauce on it. Pretty much is. Thank you guys. Appreciate you. And we'll see you on the flip side. Bye. Did you shit in there?
