Starting point is 00:00:01 The Thunderbolts, man, people like it. They didn't see in the theaters, but the people who are watching it now, they like it because it's hit streaming and it's doing whale. While we were putting these stories together, Alan Richardson said that he did meet with James Gunn. He said he's probably not going to play Batman, but he might be doing something. We got so much to talk about in the world of comic book movie news. We've got a lot. We're going to discuss all that today and more. And we got an announcement.
Starting point is 00:00:34 And we're going to probably drop at the top of the show here. But that and more on the show here today with myself, Winston A. Marshall, for Gendro. Let's do it. Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to the show. It is the Christian Harlow show here today on this Friday. Capes and Cowles, ladies and gentlemen, Swift, myself. welcome back ladies and gentlemen to the show um so you know what we're going to do this right away because we'll get everybody just kind of let everybody know first and this is so unfair to poor chris car
Starting point is 00:01:36 i think because chris car right now is i think at um i think 72 is what what she was um which is pretty good 72 or 73 actually is what i have here listed 73 um it's not fair from the announcement i'm about to make and i'm sure um it it it really isn't so here Here's the deal. Coy Chondro and I have been talking. And look, we've been doing this show now, Caps and Cows for three and a four years now, which is crazy.
Starting point is 00:02:05 It went from doing the watchalongs or the rewatches, rather, to now turning into Caps and Cals, something that Coy and I were talking about like forever. And Winston was doing a show on the channel. Like, let's just combine it. Let's just do some stuff. And I'll have the two comic experts tell this dope about, the comic book lore that I don't really know.
Starting point is 00:02:26 So, Coy and I've been talking, and look, Coy Chandrault, of course, right of them making this, my fucking DoorDash shows up. Unbelievable. Hello. Hello. I'm coming down.
Starting point is 00:02:41 I'm coming down. That was amazing. I knew that was going to happen. I knew it. I knew it. Talk about our weekend. Sure. or our weeks, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Well, this week, I can do a small announcement for this weekend. For those that didn't know, yesterday, we did our blurds. We did blurts in the hood, and the show is going to be returning twice monthly. Jay and I were able to work out some scheduling stuff, so definitely come in and follow us on that.
Starting point is 00:03:13 And then this Sunday, we're finally back on track for Blazing Saddles. So if you guys want to come and watch that way, come do that. We got some time. The lady is leaving. she's going out of town. She's going to Costa Rica for a week. So I have a lot of time to personally rest, but also to catch up on a lot of the stuff on my channel and whatnot. So there you go. There's the early fly.
Starting point is 00:03:34 All right. Oh, look at that timing. Nicely done. Crazy. Crazy. All right. Let me get back to what I was saying. So we've been doing this show for like three and a half, four years. So Koi and I spoke today. Look, Coy's been, you really cannot turn on your internet these days. If you're following these algorithms and not seeing Coy Chandra, whether it's on this channel, Real Rejects, Hollywood Reporter, guys everywhere. One of the places that he's on very often, every week, I think now, maybe you can correct me if I'm wrong, but is D.C.
Starting point is 00:04:05 Does a lot of stuff with D.C. We talk about all the time. We joke about it a lot, too, where sometimes we'll discuss things, rumors and things of that nature. and we put Koi off screen because there's certain things when you're doing these shows. It's hard to talk about rumors. It's hard to do that stuff because not that you necessarily know anything, but you put yourself in an interesting position. So unfortunately, Koi, Jandro, is not going to be able to be on capes and cows anymore.
Starting point is 00:04:32 However, we are speaking about doing some other things. Koyen actually spoke this morning, and we have a really good idea for a thing that we want to do. We just got to figure it out, and Winston knows it. what it is too and it's it's kind of perfect for coy and i it's actually great yeah and it's and so once we just got to get it we just got to figure some things out but by no means is coy um you know we're still doing the the the voiceover thing and all that stuff and and the comic and we're doing all that stuff and coy's going to be part of this we just got to figure out how to make it work but coy you know i i want you to be able to uh yeah i i just i'm in a spot where uh you know i'm
Starting point is 00:05:11 going to be a part of the next wave of things and I'll know things that aren't fair to just kind of omit or I never had to put myself in a position in this first batch of lead up of DC to ever know anything and deceive anyone yet like I honestly when a rumor would come up I wouldn't know um but as things are ramping up I still don't know if or if not I'll know anything but I will periodically have moments of knowing things a little ahead so I didn't want to put anyone in position, whether it's here or DC or myself of having to be kind of cornered. And I also didn't want Christian to be in a spot where he reports on this stuff. And, you know, my face is on a thumbnail and it looks like he might know a thing because
Starting point is 00:05:53 of me or, you know, I might and I'm keeping it from anyone. So I just thought, we just thought for a little bit, it'd be good to not have anyone in that position. So finding things for me to do that aren't in that position, a long game. But I've really loved doing the show. and Winston is an actual nerd. And I feel like I don't get that often when I work on the internet. So it's been cool with Christian being our day to day, every man.
Starting point is 00:06:17 And he gets crap, by the way, in the comments. And I see it. And that's not fair because that's the point of the show. But I've really enjoyed having the different tiers of nerddom gets a geek out. So don't think that this is something I'm doing lately or something that's forever, but know that we're navigating it. Yeah. And that was the thing is that we had the conversation about it.
Starting point is 00:06:36 Corey and I spoke for quite a while about it. And I was like, and when I kind of come up with the idea of like, oh, what about this? And he was like, oh, wait a minute. If we can do that, that'd be amazing because we've got a really good idea. We just got to figure it out. And we'll let you guys know. So like I said, it's unfair to Chris Carr because this is the last kind of super chat thing.
Starting point is 00:06:53 You got to Koi a chance to win his last, his last show on capes and cows for a bit. And it's also not to say this is the other thing that Corey and I spoke about because of reviews. Like if we're going to do like a spoiler heavy discussion, Coy can come back and join Winston and I for that on. Yeah, this is just to keep things clean. I don't want anyone getting mad at me or Christian or D.C. Like there's no one to point. It's just to keep it clean.
Starting point is 00:07:17 But that means if I leave clean, then I can do more later. Right. And so Caps and Cow is going to continue on. Winston and I will do it. And if my goal is to take someone that's already on the channel, put them on the Friday show, if Coy and I wind up doing what we are talking. talking about doing, but like I said, we'll figure that out. So again,
Starting point is 00:07:37 bittersweet news in general because like, like said, Coy is is like a friend, more than anything else too. So we're going to be continuing to do stuff together. Just this show's been kind of going on forever. So, and it will continue to go on. Just we'll, we'll see what happens with with Coy as we move forward. So put your questions in there. Anything you want to ask Coy on the, on his last one for now. But yeah, what I was telling you, the reason I had to abrupt stop that announcement to get my food is because this was yesterday I um I I decided to take the day off
Starting point is 00:08:13 and which I don't ever do um because I was looking over the weekend last weekend and I found this place this water park called um splish splash which is here in Long Island and it's about an hour away or some and my kids like had like it looked really awesome so I was like I saw this blog about this guy who took his family there and was touring the whole thing. And I was like, you know, reach out. And they were really great. And they provided passes for myself and my two daughters. And they had like these, the H2, H2 go passes where you just right past the line.
Starting point is 00:08:49 But it was because it's the last week of school was kind of not as busy, but still pretty great. And so many different ride and a lot of fun for everybody. And they have like the season passes now because it's coming out. Well, they season passes what they do. all year round but they you're able to do it you can get these season passes and it's really worth it in general and i'm definitely going to be doing that because of the fun that the kids have but look at just look at this little snippet i haven't put together the video for social media but
Starting point is 00:09:15 check this out hey i know you i know you ready thank you here we got me you love that one dude my favorite part about that is how much of a mobster your daughter really is because you're the one be like, well, here we go. She's like, yeah. Stone face riding. Just, yeah. And then she good.
Starting point is 00:10:04 I love it. That was it. So it was, so we had a blast. And they really, they, they, I mean, that was like one of many different rides that they have. And it's like, it was so much fun. So we'll be done to do a video on that as well. But anyway, so we've got tons to talk about guys. And like I said, you guys are pushing for 73 on the last hurrah of this trio for now.
Starting point is 00:10:25 let's see what we can do. Let's get into it, guys. Let's get into the first story. Check it out. Thunderbolts. It's already a hit on streaming in the U.S. Somewhere I'll be able to find this tab. Where the hell did it go?
Starting point is 00:10:42 This is bullshit, guys. Talking about this already. There it is. I see it. Okay. Thunderbolt is already a hit on streaming in the U.S. and worldwide following the Disney Plus debut. Thunderbolts debuted on Disney Plus.
Starting point is 00:10:55 earlier this week and all signs point to it being a massive hit on streaming. This is spode well for these characters in the MCU moving forward. Thunderbolts received overwhelmingly positive reviews when it opened in theaters earlier this year, but those didn't translate to ticket sales. The movie grossed only 382.4 million worldwide. Shocking result that left box office analysts scratching their heads. Marvel Studios quickly pivoted to promoting it as the New Avengers, but that only went so far and its failings have been blamed on cast primarily comprised of streaming
Starting point is 00:11:25 characters. Still, it seems a post-credit scene setting the stage for Doomsday has increased interest in those, as had those glowing reviews. According to streaming monitor Flix Patrol, Thunderbolts has become Disney Plus most popular movie in the U.S. and the third highest stream title worldwide after just one day on the platform. Does streaming viewership translate to revenue for a studio like Disney? It's a complicated question to answer, though the movie success on Disney Plus likely bodes well for the characters who call themselves a new Avengers. Not in terms of a sequel, but beyond Avengers Doomsday, we can surely expect to see more of the century,
Starting point is 00:11:58 Yelina Bulova. If Marvel Studios believes fans want more of them, we're already hearing that Florence Pugh will be in Spider-Man brand-new day. It's that expansion that I think led people to say, do I have to see all these things? He used to be fun, but now I have to know everything about these. Faggie recently said, and I think the Marvel's hit it hardest
Starting point is 00:12:14 when people are like, okay, I recognize her from a billion-dollar movie, but who are those two? I guess they were in some TV shows. I'll skip it. Thunderbolt's a very good movie, but nobody knew that title, and many of those characters were from shows. There was this residual effect of audiences going,
Starting point is 00:12:29 I guess I had to have seen those other shows to understand this is. Okay. So to me, guys, this to me seems really, I think, telling of where we are today in the business in general. Because we, and the comic book movie business in general. Because, Coy, you know, this movie, we all agreed we really liked it. Most people who have seen this really liked it.
Starting point is 00:12:54 Critics liked it. Fans liked it. We had all the discussion the other day about the reason why Jake Schreier clearly is getting the X-Men because this is a good movie. It did well. I mean, it resonated with people. So you put it and you look at a movie like K-pop Demon Hunters and look at the success that that movie had on streaming. It was a streaming hit first. And then it became the number one movie last week with $20 million, whatever it is.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Streaming is really where a lot of people, it's like they're theater now. um, debuting stuff in their homes. So it's almost like it's debuting to all these households now. And how do you now equate what is a hit and what isn't? Because if you have initial box office that is underperforming like this has, but yet is the number one movie for the platform. Now, the other question is when it says number one movie is that in standards of just Disney plus and even those ratings aren't that good or is this as compared to other things, this is still a a big hit, but nonetheless, if it is the latter, how do you gauge what is successful and what is not? I think the whole beautiful part about streaming is it's a bunch of people that can say what they want.
Starting point is 00:14:06 There's no metrics. They can just say, like, it's great, doing well. Like, there's no real authentic Nielsen ratings. This is a way that they can not pay actors and creators back in. This is a way that they can just kind of have it come out. And that's really unprecedentedly dangerous. I'm sure it's a hit for the $6 a month Disney Plus is for a family of five to all contribute a dollars worth. That's going to help a $200 million movie.
Starting point is 00:14:32 But at the end of the day, like, I don't think that's going to help move the needle on movies with real budgets. So I think Netflix is in an interesting position where they've, you know, taken so many write-offs with movies all these years that they can get away with it. I don't know if Disney can as a company. I think we need theatrical windows to be longer. I think we need DVD, Blu-ray VOD windows to be then longer after that. And if this is how people are going to see debuts, I don't think there's a financial balance for movies to be able to cost what they would cost because $6 a month for a service.
Starting point is 00:15:05 Or, you know, I think Apple's going up to 13. I know a lot of people that might leave if it goes over 10. And then to me, the amount of content you get on Apple for $13 is worth more than what you get on Disney for six. Sure. So I don't know if that's something and I don't know if you can scale it. Like I don't know if you'll ever equate to even $50 million worth of revenue to offset the loss at the theater. And that's a really tricky thing if this is going to be how people perceive it as its release. Yeah, it's tricky because there's a lot of that that I, it's just it's not pushback because I agree with you. It's just like we all know we've had the conversation
Starting point is 00:15:42 about like Superman being and how it's how it went to digital. like fast, right? And I think where your point you've made many times and valid is that it's the president is the precedent that it sets that it's, you're going past that that 45 day window and you're going to 30. But Winston, the thing is with that particular movie, it didn't hurt the box office. It actually, the the box office actually stayed as it was, actually had less of a drop off, got it past 600 million. Now, that's not to say that that's going to have. happen for every movie, but it certainly shows the studio, hey, we can put that out. We can do that.
Starting point is 00:16:22 And we're going to promote our other show in the meantime. We can gauge that Peacemaker was a hit because of it. Now, if they're gauging that Thunderbolt is a hit for them because of the streaming stuff. And maybe even if it's like, Kui said, I think it's a little, when it initially came out, I think it was six bucks, but with bundles and everything too, it's more expensive now, but still, not by, not by a lot. But either way, you can gauge it by. saying, okay, people are watching us now.
Starting point is 00:16:49 We're getting the word out there. And because more people are seeing this movie now, then maybe that's going to get more asses in the seats for Doomsday. What do you think? I mean, it'll certainly help if, you know, that people are following up on it if it's doing these kind of numbers. But I think the main issue is kind of what Coy was saying before. They have opened Pandora's box,
Starting point is 00:17:13 and I don't know how you close it back. even if you make the windows longer at this point, you got to understand there's certain things that you have, you have almost kind of left like a scar on the social imprint of how we digest movies and media at this point. So the only thing you can really do to try and mitigate is you just have to peel back budgets. You have to save those three and 500 that you're doing for a doomsday for an
Starting point is 00:17:44 avatar, something that you know. know will absolutely be a gangbuster and then everything else has to come down to 150 or less. And you, because you literally have told people don't go to the movie theaters anymore. You've, that is, that is the lesson that is learned from this. You will get exceptions to the rule. Of course, you're going to get people to go out to the K-pop Demon Hunter sing-along because it's a sing-along. It's a family movie.
Starting point is 00:18:09 Like, the family movies we've seen are kind of bulletproof if it's, if it's, you know, done well enough. But everything else is just not going to do that money. It really won't. Well, it's not. And I think that the other point to go along with that is that demon hunters such a phenomenon because it, you're not, the difference is this, is that, you know, looking at, and I guess you can use the Narni example that we have been, but if you use Thunderbolts, it's not like if you would have put Thunderbolts,
Starting point is 00:18:35 using the K-pop analogy, if you would put Thunderbolts on TV, first Koi, right? It's not, and let's say it was as popular as it is right now. it's not like, okay, but now we're going to put it in the theater, and it's going to do that well. I think to Winston's point that the show, the movie K-pop Demon Hunters became so popular, but it also became a thing where you could sing along to it.
Starting point is 00:18:57 It was an event. And the event was also, the $20 million that came in, I would, I don't know, you're ever going to be able to equate this or, or find out the real data on it. But I would guess that 75% of that,
Starting point is 00:19:12 if not more, are people who already saw the movie. Right. Because it's a sing-along. And they wanted to experience that event in the theater, sing along with everybody else and make it feel like a concert, especially now that those particular songs and tracks were in the top 10 or 20 hits. So, yeah, Coy, those points as far as what Winston and I just said about.
Starting point is 00:19:36 Yeah, I think it is a precedent issue. You know, I think K-pop Demon Hunters is an interesting new variable of something be day-and-date. that does do well. I think Five Nights at Freddy's is another great example. I personally think there needs to be a balance of if things are going to be streaming and at the movie theater, then it should go both ways. I think if a brand wants to be seen as synonymous to both the theatrical window and an at home release, I personally think, you know, Penguin is a really great example of something cinematic. I would love to see Penguin in theaters, and I think that it did really well at home. And I think the Batman did insanely well considering when it came out.
Starting point is 00:20:14 I would love to see things. If you're going to experiment with shorter windows, I think we should experiment the other way, too, of Netflix's Stranger Things. If you release those feature-length episodes in theaters, I would be there and I would pay to see an hour and a half of Stranger Things, and that would help the box office that I care about, and it would help your brand.
Starting point is 00:20:34 My thing is just like, I don't care about one studio more than another. I care about the movie theater existing. Sure. So, like, if Netflix can help my theater stay open by releasing Stranger Things, then they can, you know, release all the movies that they made their red notices all day but there needs to be a balance to like what james did with superman like i i i have publicly said i wish that it hadn't been the case
Starting point is 00:20:53 i understood because of peacemaker but it's like you know we're we're potty training animals here and and people are dumb and they're going to be like up 30 days like we need to remember like the ignorance of the public i mean i i i don't yes and no i think that the other thing is that there's no rule even though precedent agreed but there's no rule that says they have to adhere by doing three. I'm saying to get people to think that a movie is a theatrical thing again. What it does, which I agree with is the precedent that it says is that because people have seen, let's say Superman 30 days later, they're like, oh, well, that movie will be out 30 days later.
Starting point is 00:21:31 And if it's so 45, they go, oh, it's not coming out 30. All right, I'll wait two more weeks. Yeah, I mean, like Winston said, it's hard to put it back in the bottle. And I am glad that, you know, Superman had legs to stay in the theater. To your point, I don't. think we've ever had any sort of data to compare because this is so unprecedented like we were all shocked when that happened and and i'm really happy that you know you know james got his win with both things but marvel clearly didn't and i want marvel to get their wins i want marvel i don't know though
Starting point is 00:21:59 wait you're saying so you're saying that they didn't get the win because they took it out of theaters too early thunderbolts i i think they didn't get the win because the brand is to the point where people think it's a home video experience well okay well that's that's a different conversation i which i don't disagree with. But I think that when it comes to whether or not, because that movie wasn't, it wasn't about to pick up steam. And that's what I mean. Like that they didn't win by pulling it and dumping it.
Starting point is 00:22:23 They just didn't win and that sucks. They tried, they tried desperately by even in that initial opening weekend by revealing the new Avengers title so fast. There were a lot of mistakes as far as marking. That's why I don't blame Jake Shrier at all for that. And I love Thunderbolts.
Starting point is 00:22:39 And I love when Marvel takes risks like Thunderbolts. I'm advocating for Marvel. was thunderbolt's attempt. And I'm saying that since that was not a success, I'm worried that we're going to, I'm worried in three months we're going to be talking about Fantastic Four success on streaming and people discovering it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:54 And that's, well, that's what I'm saying, though. And because, and what we're, I think we're saying the same thing, right? It's like,
Starting point is 00:23:00 that just shows you how in general, like that the business has just changed, right? Because now it's like, it used to be, what was the box office in, in general, what was the box office opening weekend?
Starting point is 00:23:12 How did it do overall? And you're like, it's either failure or success because of this. We don't know, and I don't know if we'll ever know what the real answer is now that streaming numbers come out, right? Because you could say, well, yeah, because so many people, did people, the more people sign up to it? Does it help your future projects in general? Are you getting more money because of it?
Starting point is 00:23:33 The advertising side of streaming now, because there's so many different streaming platforms. I mean, I was watching. I have Amazon Prime. And the other day, I was watching them. movie and the commercial popped up on it in the middle of the movie and I'm like oh I got to pay an extra two dollars to get rid of that right um and it's like so every thinking to that scares me is you will not have movie theaters have commercials in the middle of their movie they might have far too much in the beginning they might have commercials and then trailers and we might be looted for mine because it's
Starting point is 00:23:59 been 30 minutes but I think the scary thing about the precedent and and pardon my flippancy the public but when I say the public's ignorance it's that I don't think the average consumer would ever need to understand movie math because why would they they're not in the industry. If enough people start only showing up at home, it is unsustainable for movies to exist. It is just letting it die slowly. And I don't want to see the death rattle of my favorite industry. So when I say the public's ignorance, it's why would they know that this isn't enough? Why would they know that $10 a month isn't enough to keep movies going? But no, I agree with you, I'm just saying like the idea of the public ignorance. It reminds me of the whole no child left behind
Starting point is 00:24:40 thing. This ain't because the public did anything. This is because this is what like you said as far as like potty training. This is what they have been trained right. And I don't blame them. Right. Right. Right. So I think my biggest fear is that with this lack of friction, right? Like the human
Starting point is 00:24:58 being's brain is trained to want the most efficient path. Like why wouldn't we want something delivered via postmates? And if you need it right now, you're hungry, you've got a headache. You want food brought to you. if we let the experience of movies be in your own house within a certain amount of time, why would you get in your car, drive to the theater, watch a movie, why would you bring your family buy popcorn? It's a lot more stressful. There's a lot more resistance. My concern is if you get
Starting point is 00:25:24 rid of all of that, then the movies themselves will inevitably die. And you have more commercials at home because that becomes the only way to pay for it. The only way you're going to subsidize $10 a month is throwing in more ads. We're seeing every year more stream or paying more. Or paying more did not have commercial. And that's what it's going to become $40 at home. It's going to become worse than cable again if there's no movie theater or we can just retrain people to go to the place. The profit margins balance out the cost. So Thunderbolts did good on streaming. So what do you guys make of it? Do you think that this is a good thing, a bad thing? Will it help Marvel in general? Starting point is 00:28:23 All right. So I left. I left. I'm back. Speaking about D.C. stuff. Another thing. Before we get to that, actually. And I say,
Starting point is 00:28:37 I only say this because Koi knows me so well. Winston and abandoning me. Winston's staying with me. So Winston is going to be doing more on the channel, by the way. We got some reactions that we got going. I just did, and it's debuting tomorrow. Steph had never seen back to the future. And yeah, so we-
Starting point is 00:28:58 Give her a break, y'all. I only saw Back to the Future one and two, like two or three years ago. 11 scene three, which is crazy. So anyway, so we have that coming out tomorrow. The reaction for usual suspects with Sam was today, Monday or Tuesday will be Memento. I've got South Park the movie with my friend Ming, who debuted on the channel with F1. But Winston's going to be, Winston and Chris Carr. Chris Carr is going to be doing Gladiator.
Starting point is 00:29:27 Winston and I are starting with Jaws. He's never seen Jaws. So we're going to be doing Jaws. We have this whole list. Winston went through this. Look at his lighting. Look, look at what good Winston's lighting is today. Hey, man, look, because I got, I had just the one key light before.
Starting point is 00:29:39 I now have another one, a bigger one to counteract the window. It's just, it's even, baby. I know, it's great. And so, yeah, people like, we finally get to see Winston do Braveheart. Yes, for sure. So Winston will be on the channel a lot more. I'll be watching that. Yes, you have to.
Starting point is 00:29:54 Winston will be on the channel a lot more. Chris Carr, Ming, Sam, Tina, and Steph, obviously. Steph's going to do the Back to the Future movies. And then Ferris Bueller. She never seen that. She never seen The Last Dragon. Have you ever seen Last Dragon? Wow.
Starting point is 00:30:12 That's going to be fun. Oh, but I don't know. I don't know who do I put on that? Do I put Winston on the last dragon? I put Steph on the last dragon. Oh, man. Oh, the decisions, decision. We'll figure that out.
Starting point is 00:30:27 Nonetheless, we do have more to talk about here today. And while we were putting together, I'm going to do this here, too, we're putting together stories. This one kind of, I don't know if it's necessarily broke, but. Uh, there's been mentioned. We did our Batman list. When do we do that? We did that last week.
Starting point is 00:30:46 And we talked about Alan Richon, who popped in to our conversation. Uh, we, we, we talked about how we thought that he would be pretty damn good as a potential Batman, because he's been making the play to do it. Well, he said he actually did meet with, uh, with James Gunn. So here's the conversation. DC Studios hasn't found a Batman for its upcoming The Brave and the Bold movie, but what of Alan Richardson? Well, he's met with James Gunn and has now set the record straight. Josh Wilding writes,
Starting point is 00:31:19 there's a lot of uncertainty surrounding DC Studios plans for Batman, The Brave and the Bold when it's announced that started 2023, but hasn't taken shape since then and now appears to be less of a priority than the recently announced Wonder Woman movie. The intention is to tell the story of Bruce Wayne learning that he has a son, Damien, whom he then trains as Robin. It's a simple story on the surface, but one, DC Studios is struggling to figure out. Surely not helping matters is that Matt Reeves highly anticipated the Batman sequels is on track for a 2027 release.
Starting point is 00:31:47 With Robert Pattinson unlikely to play the DC's Dark Night, fans have been attempting to figure out who would be a suitable choice to don the cape and Cal. Brandon Sclanar, Jensen Eccles, Alan Ritchin are among the names frequently suggested online with the latter among the most popular possibilities. The Titans and Reacher Star would be a suitably formidable Batman, but he is, But is he the right fit for Bruce while the debate might be over? Talking to Variety, Richson confirmed that he's met with James Gunn. And while they discussed Batman, it seems another character now lies in his future. Well, it's not a rumor that James Gunn is a fan. He said it himself.
Starting point is 00:32:23 And am I a fan of James Gun? Absolutely. I don't want to mislead people. Words have been exchanged about Batman, but I strongly don't think that Batman is in my future. I do think there is something in my future at DC. And I would like that to remain true. So no Batman, but the door is open to him doing something in the DCU. Aquaman would be a good fit as would Green Arrow,
Starting point is 00:32:45 but only time would tell whether Gunn was serious about bringing him into the shared world. Batman appears no closer to being cast unless the filmmaker intends to surprise us with the hero's debut in the upcoming project. DC Studios co-CEO, Peter Safron, has previously discussed the importance of the DCU having its own Batman. out and you have a few comments there, yada, yada, yada. So, all right, Alan Richardson in general, now saying that he has met with James Gunn. Now, Coy, this is Alan Richson saying, it's not a rumor. This is him saying that he's actually met with James.
Starting point is 00:33:20 Gold felt so comfortable. I was like, ah. Yeah, he said this is coming straight from the, straight from the actor himself, who said that he met with James Gunn and he doesn't feel like Batman is in his future. Now, the question is this. Is he telling the truth? Or is it one of these things where, well, I don't want to say anything in general. Let's throw him off the scent.
Starting point is 00:33:41 Or why do you bother to do that? And he's probably just going to show up a subject. It feels pretty confidently and comfortably, not a mislead. Like Andrew Garfield playing werewolf and lying about Spider-Man's one thing, because it's assumed he's going to be Spider-Man. But I do feel like if suddenly Allen Richardson became Batman, we'd be like, bro, you literally said. So to me, it seems like it was a conversation that got,
Starting point is 00:34:04 loud enough. He wanted to address it so that he could then have a clean slate to navigate what he was going to actually do. Because whatever it is, like, I'm excited for the dude to play anyone that works for him. I think Jack Ritcher really showed range in Allen Richardson. I think that even going back to his Blue Mountain State Days, his comedy, his timing, I love his interviews. He seems like a really good dude. So I love that he's just trying to be transparent. I like that he's trying to be clean. So when he gets cast, people aren't disappointed because there's Batman and there's Superman and there's Wonder. woman and then there's you know a hundred other characters but when you're rumored to be
Starting point is 00:34:38 batman it's very hard when they announce anything else to not feel like well he's not bad he wanted to and he said he made the play he wanted to play and so it's smart for him to get ahead of it i think so that way when they announce blank it's not like that's not batman no i also think that it shows a lot i think it shows a lot of james gun's character too because i think that james gun probably was like hey look and i can see this conversation he's like he's like i don't know i don't think it's batman i think it's somebody else i don't think it's batman i'll tell you why because he is a fan he wants to do this. I think Winston, he's not going to do Batman. I think he's, I think he's, I think he's, I think he's, I think he's right. Why if, don't say anything as
Starting point is 00:35:11 opposed to lying to the public because he wasn't necessarily as point blank, are you playing Batman? Maybe he wasn't this thing, but he's, don't throw him off the scent. Just say, look, I can't talk about anything we met with. If you are Batman. If not, you say something like this, I think it shows class and it shows the idea like, okay, I'm going to tell the fans, honestly, you probably don't want to put me in these conversations anymore because And I might be disappointed about it, but I'm not telling you that. We had other conversations. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:35:38 I think that there's a possibility because this is the thing that I've been talking about with the size of Alan Richardson and the size of David Corrin's sweat. Is Shazam possible? Yeah. Shazam is a possibility. Because now at this point, if we're just going to, there were, there were a few reasons why we could see the physique potentially of Batman, but we all admitted he's a little big. You could do it, but he's a little big.
Starting point is 00:36:05 But now if we're just going based off of size, then Shazam is a possibility. I don't know if he has like the kind of dark villain gravitas, but he could, he's big enough to be Darkside. Let's see, you could, if not him, Coy, God, my brain is still a little foggy from the vid. Darkside Sun. Orion? No, no, no, no, no. Well, you could do Orion, too, but I mean the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the. The swap, the swap, because you know Darkside and High Father swap kids.
Starting point is 00:36:37 Carnac. No, not Carnac. That's fucking Marvel. That's Marvel. No. Oh, my God. Real bulky, hairy-ass dude. Oh, oh, the blue and gray.
Starting point is 00:36:48 Either way. Yes. Dark side's adoptive son. That's another option. Aquaman was brought up, obviously, which he played previously, I believe, in Smallville. Cadaback is what they're saying. Calabac. Calabac.
Starting point is 00:36:59 Calabac. Calabac. That was driving me insane. It was driving me crazy. Calaback. I'm just thinking about all of the people that are giant brusers. I think the best one, in my opinion, after doing Reacher, I think you make him Wildcat.
Starting point is 00:37:13 The thing with Wildcat, as much as we love him, is such a beat to almost C-list character. I would want Alan to have something a little bit bigger, but if you wanted to let him just, like, go, I mean, Wildcat's a boss, so it would be fun. Yeah, I don't know anything about any of those characters. Ooh, Bizarro. Someone said Bizarro.
Starting point is 00:37:36 That actually could be really fun. The point of all of this is what you, the last sentence you just said, Winston, is that that could be really fun. I think him in the D.C., and that was my always, my own, always my thing with him is I always wanted him part of the D.C.
Starting point is 00:37:49 So initially I still didn't think he, like you said, not just the fit for Batman, right? Even though he kind of came around with it on my list, putting him in number five, I could easily put him at seven, could easily put him at 10. and like it's not like oh man i'm i'm so bummed he's out of the out of the you know the running
Starting point is 00:38:08 i'm not bummed that he's out of the running i'd be bummed if he was out of the running of dc but the fact that he's in dc yeah coy go ahead i think it's also smart like to i think that a lot of people get crap for being fancasts and then getting cast for whatever reason it's this really weird thing in the internet where everybody's like we want this person then they get cast and there's the other half the internet it's like why would they do a fan cast choice and so with el ritzin i kind of like that he was a loud enough choice and clearly the people that are casting liked his work enough he got brought in and that to me bodes well for like hey we've got our eye on you we want you in our
Starting point is 00:38:43 universe and not that being in the DC you excludes them from the MCU but i do think it's smart if you have an actor like alan that looks like a superhero or villain to take those meetings early i think it's smart to be like hey by the way we're trying to figure something out so i love hearing that it's public i love hearing that it's something that's already in motion yeah um what about you guys Alan Richon. What do you think looks better? Alan Richon of Shazam or this sushi? Alan Richon as Batman.
Starting point is 00:39:11 Bumbed that it's not going to happen? Believe that it's not going to happen. Put your thoughts in there. Let us know. Okay. We're going to stick with some DC stuff. We're going to stick with Batman stuff. And so Darren Aronowski talked a little bit about some stuff.
Starting point is 00:39:27 There's Batman talk from Colin Farrell. So let's get into that. and I found my glasses and my eyes aren't hurting as much anymore. That's good. What do you guys care? Probably not at all. Batman talk from Colin Farrell, Aronovsky, and more. There's been a lot of talk about Batman in the past day or so.
Starting point is 00:39:46 Someone about his past and some of the character's future on the screen. First up, James Gunn has doubled down on talk about the final few episodes of Peacemaker, saying that this week we have some really, really big, big stars from the DC University that are going to be near the end of the season while speaking with outlet. Palusha and El Soucher. There's no world where I said that right. That has led to plenty of wild speculation that the DCU's Batman could be introduced, even as there has been no indication thus far of anything like that happening.
Starting point is 00:40:15 In terms of actually tangible Batman news, Colin Farrell spoke with the rap the other day and confirmed he's getting into the script for Matt Reeves, Batman Part 2 this week. Regarding this, his filming commitments, reprising his role of the penguin in the film, he says, I'll be there for however long. have many scenes. I don't believe, but I'll be there for whatever. The character came up again, as well in an interview with filmmaker Darren Aronovsky over on the Happy Sack and Fuse
Starting point is 00:40:40 podcast, Josh Harwitz spoke with the caught stealing director to reflect on the time over two decades ago when Aronowski was attached to direct an adaptation of Frank Miller's Batman Year 1. Film didn't happen. One of her brothers instead shifting to what became Nolan's Batman begins. Aronowski told Horowitz it came down to the fact that he was way too focused on getting the fountain made. He said it was really focused on the fountain. I never really took that seriously. I wanted to make fountain. That's where it was. Frank Miller and I co-wrote a script. My whole strategy on that was I wanted to make this totally wild, crazy film about love and the search of the fountain of youth. And it felt like it was on Batman. They might let me make the fountain, which is kind of what happened, sort of. I think the Batman that me and Frank pitch wrote was really down and dirty, duct tape kind of movie. It was really never going to be selling Batmobiles. I don't think it was the right guy at the right time. It was rated R. I think the whole world of superhero films had to come out first to scrape the bottom of the bottom of the movie. I was really. I don't think it was the right. I think the whole world of superhero films had to scrape the bottom of the bottom of the bottom of the bottom of the the barrel before going through R-rated films like some of the later ones. During the interview, he confirmed he wanted Joaquin Phoenix for the role of Batman,
Starting point is 00:41:38 whereas the studio wanted Freddie Pringe Jr., really, for that version. He also confirmed he was never attached to Man of Steel and was involved in watchman, but literally for only a few days. That's so interesting. Boy, Freddie was in the running for, they wanted to play Batman. Yeah. I never knew that. I feel like I remember hearing a rumor about that, but I don't, I don't hate the choice.
Starting point is 00:42:00 as far as maybe Bruce, I honestly would have seen Freddie more as like a slightly older dick, like a Nightwing personally, but I think he could have maybe done it. I'll tell you why he could have done it. And if I didn't know him, I would agree with you 100%.
Starting point is 00:42:16 I'm telling you, like before, from his persona, I agree with 100%. When you really talk to who Freddie Prince Jr. is as a person and his philosophies on life and the way he approaches things and like, and weird. he can tap into. He's he's controlled certain like emotions and things too through whether it was
Starting point is 00:42:36 jiu-jitsu or other things too. And like he's he's he's he's that guy. He is. He's really he's a really kind of, um, he's as very zen dude now too, but he's a guy that basically controls and the stuff that had happened with his father that he's very public about and how that kind of shaped his entire life and things that he had to do. Freddie would have been a very inspired choice and different. And a lot of people would initially the same thing. we said with Pattinson for you or other people right oh this wildlife guy people like I saw somebody in the comments go Freddie Prince
Starting point is 00:43:06 yikes because the first thing you think of a Scooby-Doo or something else too but that's not what we're talking about come about other thing because wasn't he because you know I don't do horror like that but wasn't he in the know what you did last summer movies
Starting point is 00:43:20 with all of them yeah yeah yeah he's a recent one too I just to that point I just think that that's enough of the edge there that is for me kind of go to the darker places. I know that's a different genre entirely, but you mentioned Scooby-Doo. If that's all you know him from, sure. But I know just enough about, because I've seen the first one, I know just enough about that. And he was in 24, actually. He was.
Starting point is 00:43:48 I love that show 24, and he had a season at 24. I know it sounds like he didn't have the best experience, but he was good in it. And I could see. He's very vocal about this experience. Yeah. But I could see him take him. on a kind of detective, got to handle my stuff. I think it would be good. But it's also a great example of the type of Batman and Warner Brothers wanted at the time, which is how Darren Aronofsky was using it.
Starting point is 00:44:11 Like he, Darren Aronovsky wanted Joaquin, and the studio wanted Frederick Prince Jr. So it's interesting because we would have gotten probably much more of a Matt Reeves. Yes. At that time, but he's right though, Coy,
Starting point is 00:44:22 at that time for it. And that's what's interesting about. I always talk about the evolution of the X-Men costumes. When we got the first X-Men black leather was strongly because of the Matrix and Blade did so well. And it took us so long to get to even a taste of comic accurate. And then they usually do that in like the last scene and then they'd cut away and then weirdly they wouldn't have in the next movie.
Starting point is 00:44:41 But it took us a while to get here culturally to have these costumes be so like the comic books. I think the same of the movies. Like I think Robert Pattinson's a great Batman. I think Joaquin Phoenix would have been an amazing Batman. But I don't think culturally it would have done well. Even at the budget they were looking out for Darren Aronofsky. Even with like you read, uh, you know, Frank Miller co-writing.
Starting point is 00:45:00 That doesn't mean a lot to you. To me, that's a revelation. When I heard Frank Miller had written it with Darren Aronofsky, I'm like, what we could have, but it wouldn't have, unless the movie cost $40 million, it wouldn't have made its money back. No, it would have been interesting. Well, but at that time, at that,
Starting point is 00:45:15 at that, I'm willing to shoot me. And even Batman McGins was really expensive. I always thought it was not that expensive. Was it? Yeah, it was more expensive than you think it was. And I always thought of it. It was maybe like a $60 million movie. I think it was like $150.
Starting point is 00:45:27 And that was in those dollars. That was in 2005. Yeah. Yeah, bro. That's crazy. They wanted a big franchise and they got it, whereas Darren Aronovsky calls it duct tape. You know, he wants, he wants something a lot more like what I think Frank Miller sees Batman as, but I don't think culture wasn't ready for that yet. No. So Aronovsky doing that would have been very, especially at that time, what he was doing. After we wrap this segment up, I'll talk to you quite quickly about both caught stealing and I don't know if you saw the long walk, but I talked to you about. I heard the long walk is fantastic.
Starting point is 00:46:00 I'll talk about both things. I'm seeing it tomorrow and I saw caught stealing. Yeah, I saw both of them. I'll talk about it just a second. But before we do that, Aaronowski, and then the casting of, you know, moving forward with Raven the Bold
Starting point is 00:46:12 and where they're going to go with that. The other thing is, as they mentioned, peacemaker, and whether, I don't think Batman's going to show up at the end of it. I think that there would have been leaked. I think someone would have known about that already.
Starting point is 00:46:25 But then again, they showed a lot of the, those episodes they did not show the last couple so you never know and gotham is mentioned uh in the second episode it is i don't know if that look i have two arguments you know the first is i don't know if it's a great place where you want to debut batman because of the tone of the show the other side of it is why it's really smart is for the selfish reason of if you want a lot of eyes in that show and you already got a lot of eyes on it so far and people are already watching it not a bad idea to put probably the most popular hero of all DC at the end of it.
Starting point is 00:47:01 I don't think that happens, Winston, but what's a... To put Batman at the end of it, you're saying? Yeah, to put Batman in it. Yeah, I wouldn't. I think that you've already gotten your little tease, unless you're going to do essentially the same thing you did in Creature Commandos and just tease the silhouette of Batman, I don't think you should keep doing that.
Starting point is 00:47:24 if you want to, because you've mentioned Gotham already in that second episode, if you want to tease the world of Batman again. So if a Gordon or, you know, anything along those lines, if you want to bring in one of the Gotham villains or something, because you are still talking about Argus and the end of Task Force X and whatnot, I think all of that is appropriate. I don't think bringing Batman in at the end of peacemaker is a good idea. I remember there was a tip of the hat potentially from James Gunn last week. In an interview, someone brought up Blue Beetle and he said, you never know, it might not be as long as you think. So maybe that.
Starting point is 00:48:07 But I don't, I don't think it'd be smart to bring Batman in right now personally. Yeah, Koi, same question. You know, I think White Rabbit being in the episode we saw was exciting and a nod. But I feel like that's kind of what you do with world building. We didn't have Batman and Superman because it was Superman's story. I think peacemaker's story is going to be peacemaker's story, but you can build out the universe. I personally don't think so, but that's only because of what it seems like they're doing with world building, not from any sort of problem with it, but I don't see that likely.
Starting point is 00:48:43 I have one thought, and this is the only way maybe, but I think let's not get into multiversal shenanigans already, knowing that Peacemaker is him kind of dealing with the life that could have been kind of alternate universe here I mean maybe the Batman of the universe that he's kind of dabbling in but again if the point is we're already worried about confusing people with Pattinson Batman versus DCU back I don't know if it necessarily behooves us to even bring in a Batman we're only going to see for the show in this alternate reality type scenario you know
Starting point is 00:49:19 you start getting you start bringing in different Batman We've already got the Matt Reeves and whoever. So one of the chats that Alan Richardson is absolute Batman. I love it. A thousand percent, but I don't know they're doing that right now. Anyway, so what do you guys make of all the Batman talk, whether it was Aronowski's version? Should they have done that? And in some other multiverse speaking of multiverse, is that how it played out?
Starting point is 00:49:44 Should it have played out? Put your thoughts in there. Let us know what you think, especially with Raven the Bold, should you should Batman, this Batman, she show up in Peacemaker. What say you? Put your thoughts in there. Okay, before we move on to other comic book news, as I mentioned before in the previous story, there were two movies that I saw this week, both a horror movie-ish in the Long Walk, and Aronowski, one of my favorite directors working today and caught stealing.
Starting point is 00:50:16 I want to tell you, guess who, which one I liked better? I'm going to assume caught stealing because New York 90s energy I know you like Austin Butler like I do but I know you've been
Starting point is 00:50:28 feeling horror more lately but I'm gonna go cut stealing should have gone with your first instinct I did not like caught stealing I know I thought it was a very well-made film I thought the acting was excellent
Starting point is 00:50:42 but you didn't like the characters I didn't care for the story it lost me about 45 minutes in it there's a particular moment that happens that I will not spoil that I went oh that kind of lost everything so he's like well that's kind of the point because now he doesn't yeah but now I don't care as much anymore and and I do and I said it in my out of the theory action it is one of those movies that I could say oh well that was stupid to hate that on the first one because on the rewatch I loved it
Starting point is 00:51:07 but right now I'm feeling like I was I was a bit disappointed I felt it was too long but you liked I did I know what you're speaking of and and understand and it's what a movie that interestingly, if someone says they didn't like it, I go, I get that. Like, it's one of those, it's very specific and it's very charged. I liked that that bothered me. And then in the third act, I was back in, I definitely wavered. But I think the kinetic energy and I like how intense the movie feels. I'm a huge guy, Ritchie guy, and this felt like, I always described King Arthur as Guy Ritchie's love letter to Germo D'Otoe.
Starting point is 00:51:45 Like it felt like Guy Ritchie and Germo did a lot of acid together and we're like Arthurian myths. This feels like Aronovsky love letter to Guy Ritchie where he's like, what if I made like a crime thriller caper? I like when directors try stuff out of their wheelhouse and it works. I could also see people not thinking it works. But for me, the characters were so kinetic and big. It felt like a graphic novel. It felt like you're reading something like really charged. And I also, I think I also loved it more than I might have 10 years ago because this feels like movies they were making 15 years ago. I don't feel like we get a lot of, you know, polished crime thriller ensembles.
Starting point is 00:52:22 And I feel like that's a genre that isn't even spoken of as missing. I feel like every few years, people are like, where are all the rom-coms? Where are all the comedies? But no one's like, where are all the Guy Ritchie action thrillers except me? So I felt very seen. Yeah, it was. And I see those points. I don't think it was as, I don't think it was as funny as like those movies that you're talking
Starting point is 00:52:44 Guy Ritchie stuff. I think there, there was some moments that were for sure. I think it's as outrageous. I agree with you. I love the third act. And I think Matt Smith is incredible in it. There's, I mean, there's not a performance in it and there's nothing about the directing in it that I'm going, I just didn't, for me, I just didn't hit, the story didn't hit. But the long walk, strangely enough, as you said, some of these horror things are about, I think it's in my top 10. Wow. So I saw, which minor, minor plug for this web series I'm in called the comic shop, which aired today. Hey, congrats, man.
Starting point is 00:53:22 Thank you. So check that out. But I got to talk to. Huh? What happened? We're going to now leaving the show now. No. Camera goes wise.
Starting point is 00:53:34 But I got to talk to Straw hat to Juju. And he was telling me. He's like, it pretty much goes sinners and then long walk for him. And he loved weapons and he's loved a lot of the stuff that's come. But he said long walk is already number two. It hit him like that. It's up there. David Johnson is a damn star.
Starting point is 00:53:55 He is a star. He's a standout in Romulus. He's a standout. This movie is the Hunger Games meets stand by me. Yeah. I'm so like the trailer and the cinema con footage made me so uncomfortable. I'm saying it tomorrow. I'm seeing it while walking on a treadmill.
Starting point is 00:54:11 You're doing the screening. I'm doing that. Dude, how did you get into that? I want to do that. I'm covering it for all reporters so you can watch myself on T.HR. I literally, on my Saturday, I'm going to be doing a marathon whilst long walking. They did these screenings, basically.
Starting point is 00:54:27 So the premise of the movie, not spoiling anything, is that, like, essentially the Hunger Games, which this game, this novel I found out, came out before Battle Royal, came out, it came out before, Hunger Games, came out before Running Man. It's kind of like the first thing. So it was essentially the post-apocalyptic. They, they based the major, who played by Mark Hamill, rounds up all these kids, men from different parts of the country, has them do the long walk and puts a whole bunch of them.
Starting point is 00:55:00 And the last, and there's no destination. They just keep walking. And the last person standing wins like a big prize. That's it. I mean, it is essentially the reality show aspect. of running man and all that. And it did feel watching it. And this is a compliment, not an insult in any way.
Starting point is 00:55:16 It felt like I was watching a reality show with characters that I, a good reality TV show where I knew that I was, I was introduced to the characters. I was invested in the characters. I was learning the character stories. I was curious of who was going to be the last person. I knew who they were focusing on the most in the way that they do on reality TV shows. And then you're watching these things kind of happen.
Starting point is 00:55:37 And it's violent. It's violent. I don't know if I really call this like a, I mean, it's a horror in the traditional sense of like, it's terrifying of what this event. You could see something like this happening in a lawless world and things like that. But it's not like a, it's not like supernatural type stuff. It's not like a horror in that sense. It is, it is more so like what I just explained to you.
Starting point is 00:56:00 It's terrifying in general and seeing how certain things happen. It's graphic at times, but not in a gratuitous way, but in a way that you're like, oh, that's, they're really showing you what this is about. I was engaged and it's and it's not a feel good movie. I'll tell you that. Like you don't leave going, oh man. I think horror right now is having, I mean,
Starting point is 00:56:16 it's been having a moment for years. I feel like every year people are like, horror's back. I think it's been back. But I think it's speaking to a lot of what we've been talking of this again, this show with budgets. I think weapons doing well.
Starting point is 00:56:27 I think this is going to do well. I think mid-budget film, especially in horror is coming back. And I think that's really important. Really important. And it's, it's crazy that because like, like you mentioned,
Starting point is 00:56:37 same with Jude, same with me. Winston, sinners and weapons, this one, 28 years later, those have been the movies that I've really responded to this year because, and the main thing, it's not, has nothing new with the genre. It's the characters. The characters in the story, as I said, caught stealing, I went and going, okay, this is going to be in my top three of the year.
Starting point is 00:57:00 We're not going, oh, I didn't like these characters as much. But there was more character and development inside of caught stealing than a lot of the other crap that I see. Yeah, I also like that about it. I genuinely felt like there were people in the moments of caught stealing more than most movies ever let those characters develop. Yes. A little side road there on the movies that are currently in theaters that myself and Koi have, well, so I saw one. And Koi is going to steal it.
Starting point is 00:57:29 And Winston's going to see the one as well. So put your thoughts in there as far as you've seen in one of those movies. Like I said, you just call that a caught stealing slash. long walk review. You get that on the clips channel. How about that? All right. So now it's time.
Starting point is 00:57:45 Moment of truth. Coy's last hurrah on the question. Can we get him past Chris Carr here today? One more bonus for Coy John Droh. Then I'll pretend that I don't get his emails when he tries to collect. So we've got 26 right now. 73 is what we're trying to tie. 74 is what we need to win.
Starting point is 00:58:08 But before we do it, Coy, because I'm never going to have to hear it again. You can find me on my YouTube, which is rapidly approaching 52K, a beautiful 52. I cover movies and TV and comic books over there. I read 50 to 70 comics a week,
Starting point is 00:58:25 and I break down my favorite nine for you every single week in a live stream. I'm going to be going live today this afternoon at about two, giving my favorite comics to Eastern Time, or one, one Eastern time going live. And then I also cover all the big TV shows.
Starting point is 00:58:38 right now I'm coloring alien earth as well as peacemaker. And I work over at DC Studio Showcase where I cover all the biggest news out of DC Studios. That is every other week on HBO and HBO's YouTube. I also have a show on DC YouTube, which is DC Comics YouTube, and that is DC High Volume, which is us translating the biggest Batman stories, word for word, into radio play audiobook format. And that is a really fun experience. And I do interviews with the talent as well as the crew making that over at DC.
Starting point is 00:59:04 So two directions for DC. You can also find me at Real Rejects doing live. of reactions, a lot of news over there. We just did a talk about the movie theater industry. And you can find me on The Hollid Reporter doing red carpets as well as junket coverage as well, a lot of other things. And I've got my own podcast called Koicast and a few other places I'm forgetting. Oh, Escape Pod 2. I got a lot of jump. Oh, hi. You can find me at the Swaggy Blurt on All Platforms, man. Here on YouTube, Blurt Breakdown on Mondays, streaming throughout the week.
Starting point is 00:59:33 You can see me on Spiel the Tequila over on the John Roker channel, starting on Wednesday, in a couple of weeks. Blurts in the Hood is back. YouTube.com slash Blurts in the hood. Obviously back here on Fridays, and as Christian has now announced, I will be doing reactions here as well. I have some on my channel. Again, I mentioned earlier in the show. I'll be doing a live watch along of Blazing Saddles,
Starting point is 00:59:55 but the reaction for that will be out a little bit later. But I have been watching and editing a bunch of reactions and stuff like that. So I'm very excited that will be coming to my channel very soon here and on a regular basis. So check all that out. So there you go. support. Oh, and the comic shop. Sorry, the comic shop. Go check that out. If you're looking for it, go to
Starting point is 01:00:13 Awkward Virgo Productions. You can also look for the hashtag the comic shop series. Great stuff. All right. Well, thank you guys. All right. Let's get into it. Again, 29 currently trying to get to 73 to tie, 74 for the win.
Starting point is 01:00:28 How about them cowboys? We just witnessed Jerry's Magnum Opus, his Mona Lisa, his Beethoven's fifth. He is now late stage L. Davis. What happened Winston? I haven't been paying attention. Are you serious? I'm serious. I know. I've been out of the loop. Jerry traded away Michael Parsons to the Green Bay Packers for two,
Starting point is 01:00:48 what will most likely be too late first round picks because the Packers have been good. So, yes, it is very much late Al Davis at this particular point. If you would like to see a 10 to 15 minute crash out that I had over this, you can go and look at the Blurds in the Hood episode from yesterday. literally went on a full tirade for like 10 or 15 minutes. So it's not great. Like that's twice. That's twice.
Starting point is 01:01:15 I know. Nate, why not have Coy and Mike and rotating cheer dependent on if there's DC News that week? We all need more coin our lives, no less. Much love to. Well, look, we had that conversation,
Starting point is 01:01:24 Corey and I. The problem is there could be a story, a big story that pops up that day. And then Coyd's got to jump off or worry about, you know, like, you know what, look,
Starting point is 01:01:34 the honest truth is I don't want to get him in trouble. I don't want him to I don't want him to be this is a good this good gig and he loves the people he's working with and and he's he's my pal so I'm going to say look man let's just try to figure out a way to make this work in general we I'm telling you the thing that we have if we can get it going you will enjoy it will enjoy and you're not going to have less of them you'll have more of them on the channel yeah and I wouldn't want to put me or Mike in the spot of like just holding what I just said of my schedule I don't have a three hour window to just not work I think my next I'm taking a little bit of time off my birthday in September,
Starting point is 01:02:07 but after that, I'm pretty booked until about July 10th of 2026. So three hour windows are not something that I don't think Christian Mike or myself have to just like... It's not fair to Mike, though, too. You know, we're going to be on this week. Oh, but I don't want you on this week because Corey's going to be on. It's not fair.
Starting point is 01:02:23 But I appreciate you wanting that, Nate. It's not love. Yes. Tyler Pfeiffer. Ignorance of the public is my new punk band name. That's good. It's really good. I had to reframe. I apologize for a jam. I like it. John Darius.
Starting point is 01:02:40 Hey, guys, what do you believe will be the tone of Guns Batman film? Well, it's not Guns Batman film. I mean, I guess it is because it's Guns DC, but right now it's Mooshietti's Batman film. They have to be different than Reeves, but still a dark tone overall. What difference do you want to see when do you think we're going to be getting the casting for the role? Now, look, I don't know the tone of Brave and the Bold. I don't. these guys do um and i guess coy from that what's the tone of the comic is it darker so i think what
Starting point is 01:03:10 will end up happening is uh there's this great comic right now called world's finest uh that mark wade's doing and i think that is a great example of how to do a more comic accurate batman it is a comic but to do a more um a batman that is stern and still intense but in a very colorful vibrant world i don't think we're going to get anything akin to batman 66 the animated series but I also don't think we're going to get anything that is as dark and our world as the Batman itself. So I think we're going to get something that feels more like Neil Adams. I assume they'll play around with the costume. Maybe give us the gray with yellow, blue cape.
Starting point is 01:03:45 Like there are so many versions of Batman. They could easily make something that is still true to Batman that isn't the Batman. And that's what I think World's Finest does really well. Anything Mark Wade. Winston? I mean, I agree. I think that you will, I think part of it is looking at, what are you seeing already from Superman?
Starting point is 01:04:05 Obviously the tones are going to be different, but you were setting up where we're going with this, and he's made it kind of clear, including with the casting and lanterns and whatnot. He is kind of interested in the world that was the Justice League, Justice League Unlimited type tone from the early 2000s. So I think that that's probably the Batman you're going to get Batman serious,
Starting point is 01:04:26 but is able to fit in a bright and colorful world full of a Justice League characters and things like that. Okay. I'm curious to see how they're going to do it. And I don't know if Moosh Yeti's going to be doing this movie. So I don't know in general. We'll see. Josh Okerlund. Koi, I love your idea for MCU Wolverine. I think having a first movie with the original five would be awesome. Then a solo movie for any new edition. It seems like a solo story movie. Yeah, that's a great. I don't know what show that was, Koi, but I saw the clip out and that's genius. Thank you, man. That is a really good idea. If Christian hasn't, Christian, have you seen what he said about it? No. Basically, my pitch, which I've actually got a pitch, I've written this out. I have, I'm trying. I want to do like four or five seasons of Wolverine separate of the X-Men. So the X-Men get movies. Yeah, TV show, but you film it over two or three years like shows used to be. You get an actor. That way they feel immortal. And you film each season is roughly a decade. Some seasons might be a little more, some a little less. But season one is the Frank Miller feudal Japan, Wolverine. And you introduce them all the way back then. And then you do like the 70s. And then you do, like, the 70s. And then you do. the 90s and you hit the iconic Wolverine life moments, but you also incorporate days of future past elements because you can write ahead. And by the time you get to your third or fourth X-Men movie,
Starting point is 01:05:41 you incorporate footage from that Wolverine. And it gives you the opportunity to endear you to Wolverine, make all that Wolverine money, but do it in a way that isn't hindering the X-Men by being X-Men and Wolverine. It, like, solves so many problems. And you could introduce characters that are very Wolverine-centric in that storyline to sprinkle venom into the MCU. I want to do it.
Starting point is 01:05:59 All right. Well, here's the question I have with that, though. when I hear that. So this is you being going to pitch this particular movie in general with all the the MCU characters. And you work for DC and I'll let you talk about it on Marvel and not on my show. They can't control my writing. They can't stop this.
Starting point is 01:06:21 Tim, after rewatching Thunderbolts, I love Walker even more. But it bug me knowing that Sam is cap without the serum while Walker and Alexi does. I think the non the non serum thing I get what's behind it. I understand what it means. But I think it's I think it's silly. I think he needs a serum. The whole point is that it turns a good man into a great man, right? And he's a really good.
Starting point is 01:06:46 He'd be great. Everybody else that try to do is look at Walker's an asshole. Sam's great. Let him be great. I think it's interesting how much they redeemed Walker. but I do feel like Sam it hurts me that that movie feels so neutral like I feel like Sam is a much stronger character
Starting point is 01:07:05 than that neutrality. A thousand percent. Tyler Fyfer, Sam's reaction to the Hobbit films will be hilarious. Bad films first is fine. I don't have only seen them, I think, once. I've never seen those Hobbit films, man, because I had same thing. I'd only seen Lord of the Rings during the pandemic. Okay. I've seen him when, well, Sam loved Lord of the Rings
Starting point is 01:07:23 and like, you know, I wanted to, I wanted to keep I wanted to change up. She's never seen seven. Coy, I'm going to get your face on this one. I found it to you. Well, I knew it beforehand,
Starting point is 01:07:32 but I got a confirmation when we started watching Memento today. She really didn't recognize Kari Ann Moss. And I said, you've never seen the Matrix, have you? She's like, no.
Starting point is 01:07:43 Yeah, never seen the Matrix. Oh. She is so expressive. That is going to be the best reaction of her trying to solve the Matrix. You should have seen her trying to solve Memento. She was losing her mind.
Starting point is 01:07:55 What a gold mine, those two reactions will be just joy. Oh, yeah. So we'll be, yeah, so we'll be watching Matrix eventually too. But now I'm taking on the Nolan path. And I said it in my video today for Nolan, it's going to be memento. What's next after that?
Starting point is 01:08:11 We're not, we're not doing insomnia because it's just that, I like it. It's a really good movie, but it's just not, it's not a reaction. It's not an internet movie. Like it's not going to get its audience. It's just, it's a slow movie. It's a slow movie. There's nothing you really can react to. It's just, it's just not that kind of movie.
Starting point is 01:08:25 It's an atmosphere movie. Yeah. I think, so what would, I don't know, sure what would it be Batman begins? I don't know if that's the next one after that. What's the next one? Because I did prestige is after Batman. Yeah, begins than prestige, I think. Yeah. Did he sprinkle a movie in between the Batman trilogy? Yeah. No, no, no, not in between. No, yes, he did. Yes, he did. It was. A hundred percent it was, yes. So I wonder what is right before that.
Starting point is 01:08:51 I think that it's insomnia. I'm pretty sure it was. I think it was Memento, insomnia. Give me a second. So we'll be skipping. They're probably just going to go right to Batman begin. So she's going to get. Memento, insomnia. Yeah. Batman begins,
Starting point is 01:09:05 prestige, Dark Night Inception, rises. So yeah, keep. We'll be doing all those. We'll be doing interstellar. We'll be doing.
Starting point is 01:09:15 Dunkirk. Are you doing Dunkirk? Yeah. And then Oppenheimer. Tendant would be interesting. I'm going to put subtitles on for that one. Because I don't think I still don't know what we're going on in Tenor. So Carlton Rudder, London calling. Hey, Christian, I won't be able to join the members' Q&A later as watching the roses. Nice. All the best to Corey Winston. So thank you for reminding me right after this at 230 because I had to postpone 230 EST. I had to postpone the other one the other day because I was going to see a long walk. The member stream is directly after this at 2.30 here today. So you want to jump in there as members, go and do it. Go, pal. The whole time you've been saying the last dragon, I've been hearing enter the dragon in my head.
Starting point is 01:09:55 I had a dear idea what that first one is. You never, I'm shocked that you haven't. Like most, you know, younger generation, if you haven't seen the last dragon, I get it,
Starting point is 01:10:03 but you're pretty well adverse with this stuff. Corey, have you ever seen The Last Dragon? It was like one of those 80s movies that was just on. Yeah, it was, I mean, Winston,
Starting point is 01:10:12 you will love that movie. I'm sure I will. I'm honestly sure I will. Have you ever seen Action Jackson? Uh, uh, no, I don't think so.
Starting point is 01:10:22 You would have strong feelings. There's no, there's no, there's no, before. No, no, no. There's some 80s movies that were always on TBS. You're going to love Winston.
Starting point is 01:10:30 I feel like Action Jackson and Last Dragon might have to go to Winston. Clip Champ Razor, Splish Slash and nostalgia, a big part of my childhood in teenage years. You know, it's the first time I'd actually ever been there because it opened up in the middle of late 90s. I used to go to Action Park, which I'm surprised I'm still here living. Yeah, dude, Action Park is a death trap. That's impressive. Oh, dude. And everything that they had in it.
Starting point is 01:10:55 the documentary right yeah everything inside that documentary i experienced um dude i remember you talking about that when the documentary came out oh yeah um is it really so my choice is that after the hunt is getting poor reviews out of venice oh i got to say i hate still saying it's gonna do i'm still saying it's going to be a big one i got what's after the hunting in that's the um that's the um that's the um andrew garfield and then a oh yeah i have to yeah i got us you know mike i'm going to check that out. I'll see what it is, but I'm, I'm still standing standing tall here. Tim, Matt Bologna reported that Paramount is in talks to acquire movie rights to call a duty. Do you see this potentially becoming a successful franchise? Yeah, I do. And I'll tell you why.
Starting point is 01:11:38 Well, it could be, but this is why I, I'm going to repeat the same answer I always do. Who's your team that you're making, that's making it? Who's your team? If you have the right team, yes, you have the wrong team. It's, could go with that initial sigh that Winston at. But Winston, you're, you're, that tell me about the time. Because I, look, there is some actually pretty interesting storylines with Call of Duty and like the solo campaign and stuff
Starting point is 01:12:07 like that. But it's one of those things where I'm just getting vibes and especially with it being paramount of Halo all over again. You fully kind of bastardized the story and came out with something that just wasn't very good. I don't, I don't, I I don't necessarily see how that translates personally. But, I mean, again, the story they wrote for the game is actually somewhat interesting, but it's not so special beyond, you know, political and war thrillers that we've already seen.
Starting point is 01:12:40 I just don't, I don't know if it clicks. What's the story? Right? What's the story? But it's got an IP. So let's see. Rob, job. Super basic question for all top three superheroes.
Starting point is 01:12:51 Here's a way to change this up. Let's guess each other's top three. Oh, interesting. Because easy for us to do it ourselves. For Koi, I'm going to say Spider-Man number one. That's easy. Batman number two? Number three, Superman?
Starting point is 01:13:12 No, missed it on the third. All right. Winston, you go for the third. His third? This might be a stretch, but Deadpool. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Those are my guys.
Starting point is 01:13:23 Yeah, of course. I should know. All right, cool, you start Winston, and I'll see if I can finish it. You miss. I'm going to say, I'm going to say Batman's in the top three, but not number one. I'm going to say Batman two. Wait, hold on. So yes or no?
Starting point is 01:13:40 Batman's number one. He's number one. All right. I know that from Shmodel. I know that from Shmodeau. I met him. Yeah. All right.
Starting point is 01:13:50 So I got one right just in the correct spot. I'm going to say someone at Marvel's number two, but I don't know who. I'm thinking an X-Men because we both love X-Men quite a bit, but it's not Wolverine. I feel like you're a Bishop guy. I do like Bishop. Top 10, but no.
Starting point is 01:14:15 High Cops. No. Actually, it's surprising. I don't think you guys will ever get it. Steve you can guess number three. I'll tell you number two afterwards. Okay. three um oh shit i was going to say storm i'm going to say nightwing for three i don't think we're
Starting point is 01:14:34 here wins what do you got man i get it so uh number three is uh gambit okay and number two is actually static okay okay it was a cartoon called static shock in the 90s you might remember But like independent comic run with Milestone and everything else like that, DC bought the rights. I just vived with that character so hard growing up. Did you see James and Big Sean talking about him on the carpet? Oh, I did. I did.
Starting point is 01:15:06 I did. I know the licensing is hard. That's why they, that's going to be a minute. But yeah. Well, I can tell you mine will be easy and hard at the same time. I'm not going to have static in there. I'll tell you that.
Starting point is 01:15:16 Superman. Yes. Okay. Number two, I'm going to say Spider-Man. No. okay then Batman was my other guess yes so number three number three so has you been a Batman off the board I feel like you you came up on the X-Men movies so I feel like Wolverine would have been formative look at you guys know me that's it what was the last one sorry Wolverine yeah that was that was that was
Starting point is 01:15:48 that yeah I was thinking of entryway points in the characters Christian always gets most passionate to talk about that's what I read I read the Wolverine stuff and I was I was bringing up like the meltdown comic with havoc that was one that I read and not because it's not just an incredible movie on its own but the way the reference in which you talk about logan it felt beyond this is a good movie it felt like you're very personal peach you i'm still maffled ming some old chinese he's i don't know if i my friend ming is not someone it maybe i think that's what he said i think he said i'm still baffled that ming isn't some old chinese season i think that's what you meant to say ming is not he's is it is it comes from
Starting point is 01:16:28 a shortening of his last name. He's a full-blooded Italian. Adit, Mahmoud, Alan Richard for Booster Gold instead of Batman? Too big, no? He's a big boy. Yeah. I think you could do a lot of comedy with Booster Gold.
Starting point is 01:16:45 That could be a more comedic actor that might not fit elsewhere. I'd want someone. I mean, I still like Billy Magnuson more than anything. Billy Magnuson. That's the best cast. There's two great castes that I remember very clear on this show.
Starting point is 01:16:58 It is the Billy Magnuson Booster Gold and Mike Kalanowski for the reboot of Remo Williams, John Bernthal. Have you guys ever seen Remo Williams? No. I just love how specific that is. He's so pretty. If you know the movie, he's perfect for it.
Starting point is 01:17:16 Peach, oh, there you go. I'm shocked Ming isn't Somalia, exactly. Yeah. No, he's not. He will be back for the movie that Koi Chandra loves and then the South Park. The movie is so good. Jesse Escamine. to match tone, could Damien Wayne show up in peacemaker?
Starting point is 01:17:32 That actually is an interesting. That's interesting. That's a very interesting choice. If you're going to tease a Batman something that we find out we have a Damian, that would actually be really interesting for sure. Be town. Hey, gonna miss you on Friday's, Coy, but tuning into the solo channel and still getting after those comics,
Starting point is 01:17:51 salute. Yeah. I appreciate that. We're really working on trying to do something. And I feel like if we can get it going, in which I think, I feel like, but if we can, I think you guys are really going to like what we come up with. Brandon Summers, support for Coy and Winston,
Starting point is 01:18:06 you're all right, two, Gage. I understand. You don't have to say that. This is my favorite one. Links, RIP to Coy. Nine. That's it. You'll be missed.
Starting point is 01:18:16 Brandon, how about them, Cowboys, love Cleveland Browns fan. Hey, I'm not going to. I just, I don't think anybody will ever experience the pain that Dallas sports fans will in that, using a generational talent two times in not even a calendar year
Starting point is 01:18:33 within six months. It's bad. It's bad. Mr. Nerd fanatic. Coy, Will hunting, leaving to see about a girl. I like them apples. Armada,
Starting point is 01:18:43 the new Lego Batman game looks very fun. Those games are always fun. They're a lot of fun. Blending all the universes by having all the IP because your Lego is so genius. Like, that's such a great way to have Heath Ledger's Joker and Michael Keaton's Batman.
Starting point is 01:18:55 That's like, I love it. 45, but less than 30 to take the, well, to take the win. Aiden, Cossack, introduce your new post-Secret War's Captain America in a World War II episode of Coys Wolverine series. Yeah, exactly. Like, there's characters, because if you want to make the show important, eight-episode series, if they want to make Disney plus shows like Wanda Vision again, that's how you do it. Armada, Fincher and Matrix movie reactions, Senator React, he's seen all of them.
Starting point is 01:19:23 Plus, no, that's not my team. my team is my for my reactions my team right now are Winston Steph Chris Carr uh Sam Tina Ming um there's a possibility I might have like you know I might have some celebrity guests come in and do some stuff too now that I can do that through virtual I was thinking about asking Katie if she wants to come in and do one that'd be fun speaking of Freddie I might ask Freddie if you can just do one too it'd be great corn emperor capes and cows are Hobbit movies overlord of the rings no roca's crazy roka and somebody else in the roca said the hobbit movies are better than lower the rings i've never heard anybody say that before as somebody else in the in the comment section said it too but i i i find that to be uh lunacy because i because i again i haven't seen the hobbit movies but on top of the fact that the main complaint that people had about them i heard is like you're you're really taking a book and stretching the shit out of it just to make three movies
Starting point is 01:20:18 yeah that's that's that's ryan s the differing narratives online around f1 and Superman have been confusing. Both movies have made $607 million. F1 is deemed a big success, and Superman is just okay and failing to make MOS money slash billion. Well, the question is, again, expectation with comic book movies, overall budget to see what it is as far as cost,
Starting point is 01:20:42 as far as also overhead from where Apple makes money and how Warner Brothers makes money, it goes into different things. Apple does have a different overhead from certain things that they that counts more so as as profit and there are other things that get put into Warner Brothers that just doesn't it's still this movie still success 600 to 7 million it's it's that it's more than just okay it's still a success I there is also an optics thing no one's rooting against a classic Top Gunn-esque Brad Pitt movie that's true so like I think
Starting point is 01:21:15 that's just how it's being received they could have made the exact same profit and I still don't think you'd have that freedom that's a great point there's more conversation around Superman succeeding or failing than there is F1. Just by the nature of the style of movie. It's a great point. Brandon, I love Tenet. I've seen him more than a dozen times. Wow.
Starting point is 01:21:32 And each time I go watch an explainer video on YouTube, cast John, David Washington, everything. I've got to watch it again because I remember I watched it. I can't remember if I've seen it twice or once, but I know that I watched it. I feel like I watched it twice. And then I put subtitles on the second. I can't remember.
Starting point is 01:21:47 I got to, I have to see it again with the subtitles on because it is like, it's chaotic I don't I've only seen it the one time I saw it actually at a drive-in movie theater because it was the middle of the pandemic I remember and I the only thing that I think made it more confusing is because it was a drive-in
Starting point is 01:22:05 and people really don't have manners that people out walking around talking to ship can you shut up I'm trying to watch the movie it's confusing man I rented a theater for my birthday because remember when they were like 30 bucks a person to rent a theater I did that and saw it and it was pretty special I love that movie
Starting point is 01:22:20 Alan Smithy. Yo, dude, the Dark Knight has elements of the prestige. Batman and the Joker are like the rival magicians trying to
Starting point is 01:22:27 go up against one another. Sure, the Joker shows him a magic trick making the pencil to spread. It's true. Batman does some magic himself
Starting point is 01:22:35 because remember he makes them think that he is Harvey Dent but he's really not and he appears out of nowhere and Joker's like, how did he do that? No one was in his
Starting point is 01:22:45 close up magic era in those three movies. All right, the next one after that. let's see and where are we? So that was Ellen Smithy. Oh, come on, man. What's going on here?
Starting point is 01:22:57 Okay. Poor an emperor, I hope to watch Static Shock in the theater. That would be absolutely incredible. Yeah. Okay. So let's see after that one. Thanks again. You guys are at 54 currently.
Starting point is 01:23:11 Jake, pancakes, waffles, French toast. How do they rank? I don't really, especially now on my stupid diet, I don't, but if I go to, I'm going to pick, I'd probably go in that order, pancakes, waffles, French toast. I'm going waffles because that's the best device to get syrup to your body if you want syrup. Yeah, that's true.
Starting point is 01:23:32 And then I'm going to go pancakes because you can flavor them so many ways. And then for me, French toast often taste too eggy. Oh, wow. Everybody's different here. Pancakes, French toast, waffles, don't tell my lady she loves waffles more than anything. Eric Kirby. Winston or Coy, have you seen? seen stands yet. Very good doc. Also, Winston and put out a new single. Everybody
Starting point is 01:23:54 looking at me and it's nice. Okay. I've heard the single. It is nice. I have not had time to watch it yet. That's one of the tricky things about the jobs is unless it's like a work watch. I rarely have time to watch new stuff, which is a bummer, but I want to see that for me. Yeah. No, no, no. I've heard fantastic things about it. Haven't seen it yet. But that is my plan. Like I said, I've got a week by myself here in the apartment. So that's one of the things I want to watch. Corrin Emperor. I hope to watch that. Oh, he did that right. Yep. Are. Call of Duty movie makes little sense to me.
Starting point is 01:24:24 People play those games for the gameplay, not the story. I have a clap back. Some have okay stories, but would not be worth adapting. Extraction, overlord already. See those movies. Yeah, but here's my thing. Legal Legends slash Arcane. Regardless if you liked it or not, you can't, you have to say it's a massive hit.
Starting point is 01:24:41 No, and I love that people love it. And I think there's a call of duty story that people like. And there's a whole market for that. I think it would do well. You got to crack it. You got to crack the story. Tyler Fyfer, static, static shock. Static, static shock, man.
Starting point is 01:24:55 They guessed right. Superhero, static shock. No, not a fan so far of season two, a peacemaker. I love season one, but the writing so far as it worked for me. It seems like the gunisms have been dialed on to 11. So I have not seen episode two yet. Corey, you've seen five or six? Five.
Starting point is 01:25:12 Five. And there's what, total seven? Eight. Oh, there's eight. Okay. So you haven't seen. Winston, you've seen two? or you've seen the first two and I will be honest the second one made the first one better it's
Starting point is 01:25:23 another one of those okay we're building all right so I need to watch it I've talked about this already and I don't want the audience to keep getting forward so just to give you uh because you guys talked about it last week when I was out um my thoughts and is I really like the story I like where they're going with it I like the heart I like where they're going with hardcore I like where they're going with Chris I like I do um I happen to agree a little bit with unknown here, I think that there's a couple of bits that just feel like bits as opposed to the first season, where the first season to me was like the characters, when it happened, it just felt organic. There are a couple of bits in here that I was just like, okay, let's see if hopefully by episode two,
Starting point is 01:26:04 it's like everything feels organic again. But I mean, I love the show, so we'll see how it goes. Jake, Christian, for somebody visiting New York for the first time, what's the absolute best piece of place you recommend? Well, it depends on where you're going. You're going into the city. I told Corey and I are a spot. We like to go to his Prince Street pizza. I like to go there. But what I would recommend is for Manhattan, go to One Bite Pizza, the Portnoy channel, and look at Manhattan for some spots
Starting point is 01:26:27 and do like a little tour of some of the top spots that he hit, which I'm going to try to do myself. But I've just been eating a little better rightness. I only have like cheats every once in a while. Dude, same here. Yeah, so that's what I was having. It's hard to do a pizza tour on a diet. It's hard to do it.
Starting point is 01:26:43 And he's doing his festival soon, too, just driving out. Yeah, dude, I've been eating so well. I ate out like a week ago and I felt like exhausted for a day. Like I had 24 hours. I was like, dude, I, yesterday, because like I said today, I'm just, I have a right now, I'm looking at a bowl of rice, fish and vegetables. But yesterday it was a whole bunch of crap at a, you know, a theme park. Oh, yeah, that feels different. Yeah. And so I was like, I was exhausted on the way, I, I went on the way home? I was like, oof. Jackson, Dennis, who would you, would you guys want a gravity Marvel movie? What's that mean?
Starting point is 01:27:16 Um, a character, yeah, a character that's a part of the young Avengers, right? Yeah, it's a, it's a newer character or it's a newly kind of popular character. It's a younger character. It's not my era of Marvel, but I wouldn't be mad. I just, it's not a character I'm attached to. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, Ryan S.
Starting point is 01:27:33 Seems haters of Superman complain about him getting beat up throughout the movie. Wouldn't they just complain about him being overpowered and boring? Yes. Correct. Yeah. A thousand percent. And then also, I find it funny that people, they're, you're getting it from all ends. You get some people being like, not just getting beat up.
Starting point is 01:27:49 They're like, oh, you just depowered the crap out of him. Bro used his super breath while still being covered in kryptonite to blow himself out of a black hole. Stop it. Yeah, I didn't have any problems when I'm getting beat up. I like the vulnerable side to do that. I think that was that worked for me. Eric Kirby, Winston, Soulman, 1986 movie watch for you. Have you ever seen that?
Starting point is 01:28:09 I have not seen Soulman. Do you know what's about? I know what it's about, though. I haven't seen it. I don't know. I don't know if I'm, am I. allowed to watch that these days? I don't even know. You can watch it on my channel. How about
Starting point is 01:28:20 that? We can do it that way. I'm just not going to see anything. I'm going to go. No, I know what I'll say. Every like five seconds, I'll turn, I'll say to Winston, that's pretty wrong in it? That's not cool.
Starting point is 01:28:38 You're too short and the full length of the same thing. It's just like, you just kind of. It literally, I won't even be in the reaction. I'll just cut myself saying it's not cool and just keep putting that in everything.
Starting point is 01:28:52 Yeah, that's it. Armada. Sheridan directed COD movie or series, please. Also, it should be based around the zombies mode. That will be great. A lot of interesting lore. I mean, yes, I see the lore there, but I think that there's already
Starting point is 01:29:08 a bunch of really interesting individual. I get you doing that because of the IP, but there's good zombie movies. I just don't, I don't know. I don't don't think this is the good way to go but again like christian said a million times what's the story what are you going to do for brandon winson we have miles garrett and drafted joe thomas so speaking of pain you know how many hall of fame players we passed over to draft scrub since 99 no no but but but there is a difference between like just brand just brandon just like this tell me the difference
Starting point is 01:29:37 just just there's a difference between having a generational player and watching incompetence in your front office to just ship them off and to do that in such close succession. It would be like saying, you know what? If Kobe was in his heyday right now, Kobe, get off the Lakers, get out of here, and then show hey, get off the Dodgers. That's crazy to do within a six months period to a city as far as sports go. It's like, I can't. I can't right now. All right, starting actually, we missed this. We missed a few from the beginning here. Oh, that's why, because I signed out earlier before.
Starting point is 01:30:20 Sean Levy's Star Wars. This is from Mark Long. John Levy's Star Wars sounds like something I'd whisper on my deathbed as my eyes widened in horror upon realizing I'm being sent to hell happy Friday. I think he's happy. I think he's happy. I can't tell if that's good or bad. I really don't know.
Starting point is 01:30:37 I can't tell. But I think that there's, I think there's a lot there. that is you guys they just announced what amy adams i think they announced in that movie matt smith amy adams rangosling wow i'm excited man it's the most excited i've been for a star war's movie in a while and the guy who's shooting it is the guy who shot top gun maverick and f1 yeah the whole every announcement i'm like okay they really are doubling down they're trying they're trying all right so that's um that's from mark long tyler fifer in the movies neither gandoff or aragon capture gollum assuming they catch him in hfg
Starting point is 01:31:11 I guess that's the new one, like the book, that that causes a continuity error. Assuming they catch him in, oh, if they catch him, it's continued. Yeah, I don't know how they're going to do. After watching Lord of Rings, I don't know, how do you guys think they're going to do this Gallo movie? And does that, because there's a lot of things that happen in Star Wars movies that they kind of make you scratch your head and go, oh, wait, but how does that happen if that was mentioned in that?
Starting point is 01:31:34 Is that the same problem we run into with the Hobbit movie? I mean, Andy Circus has so much backstory for him. I feel like he's the way this got cracked, like some sort of loophole or timing or when it occurred. Like I don't think like Andy Circus would mess with continuity with the character he loves so much. But if it was anyone else, I'd be worried. But since it's him,
Starting point is 01:31:52 I'm curious. Okay. So the next one here is, we missed quite a bit because I, I popped out by accident. I lost a few. How many are yet? I'll let you know once.
Starting point is 01:32:04 I'm going to calculate this up after I do these. So Tyler Pfeiffer, making Aslan female is no different than making Gandalf female, Not for me personally. No doubt, Street will do a phenomenal job. So we're obviously talking about lying in a witch and a wardrobe. I think we know, you know, it's Merrill Streep. I said the other day, I don't know the need of why they're potentially doing, especially when you know the in the books.
Starting point is 01:32:29 It's pretty much a reference that Aslan is Jesus Christ. Right. So I don't know. And plus, you're just going to get people kind of, that's what the whole conversation is going to turn to be. around. So I didn't know the need for it, but again, then I said, well, it's Merrill Streep. I don't know how you guys feel about it at all. If there's any, I guess my flip side is, I'm assuming there, it's just she is voicing as land, but I'm assuming it's still probably, the line's probably still got the main and everything. So I don't know. I mean, the,
Starting point is 01:33:00 the voice actors for like, Frisa, freeza is a dude and you just had, you know, a woman, uh, doing the voice for it. So I, unless you're, unless you're straight up going with a female lion, I don't know. I don't see. what the problem is. Alanis Morissette is God to me, so she's always been a woman. Also true. That's the dogma, man. A. Rago, are you excited to see the movie, him?
Starting point is 01:33:21 Which one is that, Coy? Oh, my God. Jordan Peel produced, like, a concussion movie. I am so excited for that movie, dude. I hear it's incredible. I hear it's, like, so special. That's another horror movie this year that I hear is transcendent. I am so ready for that movie.
Starting point is 01:33:37 Matt Maker Studio. Coy, please come back whenever you can. We will all here is the secret though. Don't tell Christian anything and don't talk. Then you can be on the show. It doesn't work that way, but I, but I understand how you're, what you're going on.
Starting point is 01:33:51 Appreciate that. Yeah. Kyle Curtis, Koi, got to get Christian and Winston on the letterbox D train. Oh, dude, best app in the game, man,
Starting point is 01:33:59 especially since you're both on social media less, or Winston is, I'm on, I'm on letterbox. I just don't use it as much as I should. Oh, as soon as I walk out of a movie, that's how I keep track of what I've, like, thought immediately,
Starting point is 01:34:09 so I can review it later. It's great. No, smart. A. Rago, all these old school movies that are getting re-released in theaters again, would love to see point break back in theaters. Is there an old school movie you would like to see being re-released? Predator. Oh, I like that.
Starting point is 01:34:24 That'd be cool. That'd be cool. Hmm. I mean, honestly, just because it'd be fun, I'd said a million times, rush hour. That would be hilarious. I think those would do well, too. I see Top Gun every time it's re-released. seen it like three times but like days of thunder's also they need to put days of thunder right
Starting point is 01:34:46 i really hope they do a sequel if they do that sequel i would i want all three in theaters at once yeah they got to do an f1 i'd say you're like the crossover but i i've never seen like i said i mean it's on the list christian i haven't seen that either oh it's a good one but like those kind of movies like old 80s and 90s action movies and theaters again yeah uh erago tm nt2 getting released in theaters for the anniversary are you going to see it winston uh Yeah, I plan on it. I'm sad I didn't get to go to the first TMNT, though. I just did scheduling-wise, it didn't work out.
Starting point is 01:35:19 But yeah, I'll definitely go see Secret of those, man. Corn Emperor, like and subscribe. Love you, Coy. Winston F's TW. F's. F is F capital F for the win. F, I know it's not FTW. It's F-Postrophe little S-T-W.
Starting point is 01:35:39 Oh, well, I don't know. I F for the win like for the win Tyler Fyford Coy go be great thank you no one let me see two three ones that we miss I'm going to count these up four five six seven eight nine ten eleven so eleven all right ten seven you guys are at 76 you've won today oh yeah so we're gonna keep we're gonna keep on we'll keep on going we still got some time you want to All right. Let's see. Did I miss that one?
Starting point is 01:36:10 Do we ever read that one? No, I didn't. I didn't do this one. Oh, I did. Okay. All right. Luigi Sherry. Winston never seen Last Dragon?
Starting point is 01:36:17 Crazy work. Well, we're going to definitely remedy that. I think Winston's got to be the one. I know Steph has never seen it, but Winston's got to see that movie. He'll love that movie. You know the name. You know the classic line from it, right? Which one?
Starting point is 01:36:34 Who's the master? No. enough. No? Wow. He's going to have a great time. He's going to love that movie. I'm very excited about this. I'm going to love that movie. Aidan Cossack accidentally skip my god. I think I got, wait, did I not get a venom question there?
Starting point is 01:36:47 I didn't see a venom question in there. I don't remember a venom question. I didn't see a venom question there when I was going. I went through every question. I didn't see it. Oh, yeah, no, no. I feel like I did see a venom question. Let me see if I can find it.
Starting point is 01:36:59 Oh, wait, I got it. I lied. There you go. Aiden Cossack. I asked Coy on his channel, but who would you rather see as Venom in the MCU. I wanted to be Mac Gargan because homecoming post credits cutscene. But there's Eddie, Flash,
Starting point is 01:37:14 Harry, etc. I personally would be okay with Mac having it for a second in order to get it to Eddie, but I really think we've never gotten Eddie Brock Venom and Spider-Man the right way. We've had the Tofer ultimate version. We had Tom Hardy not get to interact.
Starting point is 01:37:30 I would like to see the MCU and especially because we're finally getting a Secret Oars movie. It's time. So I personally want an MCU Eddie Brock, who could be a great Alan Richardson, to be honest. And who blames Peter's, like Eddie specifically blames Spider-Man slash Peter for ruining his life, which then gives the symbiate and Eddie a reason to really bond and hate Peter Parker slash Spider-Man. It's an abusive relationship metaphor.
Starting point is 01:37:57 We haven't really gotten with Spider-Man correctly. And the codependency that you see between Venom and Eddie because of just how much toxicity they bring to the situation. Armada. Who's got more shit, boys? As my daughter says, Hubo Max or Apple. She calls it Hubo Max. Yeah, my little one. That one's like, that one's a Hubo Max. And I go, ECBO max? She goes, Hubo. I go, Winston, she goes, I miss her, man. She's hilarious. Just yesterday, I was so proud of her yesterday because like she, you know, she, over the last two years, she just picked up, you know, swimming and stuff too, but she still,
Starting point is 01:38:37 timid about certain things. So she comes down one of these slides yesterday and I dumped her in like three feet of water, but still she wasn't expecting it. So she got, so I was right next to her, and I come out of this other pipe. It was a solo one. And I, and she go, and I see her come in and this fear takes over her face where she goes under and she's like, oh shit. She's like, what do I do here? And there's a lifeguard there too. And he was like going towards her because he saw her like kind of like this. But then she went like this. She goes, this. And she just starts swimming. But she was, she was scared. And, you know, but I grabbed her.
Starting point is 01:39:12 I said, I told her I proud of I was. And then she's like, but she was like going like this. And then she just started like, she's like making this face. And then she looked around, nobody was there. She's like, falling. And I'm like, you did it. I'm like you, you sat there and you went, you went, I'm doing this. And she's like, I know, but I don't like it.
Starting point is 01:39:29 I don't like it. Anyway, Armada. Who, who's got, more shipboard, a Hubo Max or Apple. I would say for me, I mean, HBO Max has a lot of great stuff. I mean, they got a lot of great stuff. It's unfair because Apple has less,
Starting point is 01:39:47 but the thing is, let's rephrase the question a little bit. Whose original programming right now is better? I would probably have to say Apple. I'd say volume, HBO Max, and a lot of highlight stuff. Like, there's so much greatness at HBO, but consistency, it's Apple's insane.
Starting point is 01:40:05 Like what Apple puts, out more hits than misses? It's part of that has to do too is that HBO since Apple got in the game, the latest out of all of them and kind of decided to pick their own lane. HBO did a similar model to what Netflix did and all that of let's just throw everything out, everything at the wall, whatever.
Starting point is 01:40:23 We need content for our streaming service. This is the way of the future. And Apple never did that. They said, no, we're going to put out the stuff that we really feel good about. And they've slow rolled it and it worked for them, I think. It's so good. I mean, it really is really quality stuff. You look forward to everything they put out now because you feel they just,
Starting point is 01:40:38 they have that standard. Even their midstuff, because they do have a lot is actually really well done. It's very well put together. That's what I'm saying. I still cross my fingers hoping, hoping that Disney sells Star Wars to Apple. I'm hoping. That'd be so crazy. It was so great.
Starting point is 01:40:54 I know there was a, and it's not like a far-fetched stream. It was talked about. It just, I think the parks got in the way and other things. Armada, who's an upcoming MC rapper to rap battle Charles? Charles coming and see Charles Charles I don't know Charles Charles de Stefano
Starting point is 01:41:11 who yeah which which Charles Winston do you know who Charles is I mean I think he means I don't know maybe I'm wrong but I think he mean how you doing now you do that one I don't know let's see I'm not I'm not sure with because I have two very distinct Charles is in my mind one from an epic story and one good friend I don't
Starting point is 01:41:31 Nathan Drake good luck to Coy with everything and going to miss any chance of other hosts joining on Friday. I think Mike would be great with all his knowledge. So there's two things with that. Like I said, one, I want to figure out first what we're doing with Corey. So Corey and I will be talking. Once I find out, if the thing goes through what Coe and I are talking about, and Corey and I probably move to a different day and I know what day that would be,
Starting point is 01:41:57 that's the case. I'm probably going to move somebody over to Friday. The problem with Mike doing the show, and I would tell Mike this the same way, Mike has to get new equipment. I'm not even kidding. He has to. He's got to get a new camera. He's got to get new lighting.
Starting point is 01:42:13 He has to. It's like, I love doing shows with them, and I've known him for 25 years, and I love going back and forth with him, but I can't do it anymore. I can do it on a Tuesday because it's part of the bit. But for this show,
Starting point is 01:42:26 I can't have him in the middle of a point about Batman freezing up. It's funny, but I can't, I can't do it. He's got to get new equipment. He's got to. And he's working on. He's working on it.
Starting point is 01:42:39 Armada. Fincher movie reactions would be fire. I mean, I know Sam has never seen seven. Ming has never seen seven. Whoa, that's going to be a blast. I don't know who I show that to yet. Wait, which one, sorry? Seven.
Starting point is 01:42:56 Oh, seven's great. Seven's great. Seven's great. Seven's great. Seven's great. Oh, no, no, no, no, no. Seven is one of my favorite movies of all time. No, seven's fantastic.
Starting point is 01:43:03 Luigi Cherry. Chris Carr, for the replacement for Koi, because she, She knows her comics. Yeah, Chris Carr is someone that I would definitely talk to potentially about doing that. But it's, again, I don't know her schedules on Friday. And I don't know what we're doing with Koi yet. My body's not even cold yet. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:43:21 Poor and Emperor. Untouched Stories for X-Men. Finale is Onslaught. I mentioned havoc, man. Meltdown. Mention that one. What do you guys? Any story in general?
Starting point is 01:43:33 I mean, they tried Onsla. It didn't work out. Untouched stories for X-Men. I think they should do the Mutant What did they try? Onslaught. Yeah, they did try. When? Oh, you're right. You're right.
Starting point is 01:43:46 I'm just thinking the animated series. I was thinking animated. I love the animated series. You're right. I was like, I would have not forgotten that. That's why I was confused. I think the Mutant Cure storyline is really interesting. Astonishing X-Men run.
Starting point is 01:44:00 I think that's what Matt Vaughn wanted to do as his second movie after first class. I can see that being a cool story. All right, let's see. Next one after that. Daynapper watched F1 last night. It's so fun. I think we're five to seven years away from Brad Pitt making spy game remake,
Starting point is 01:44:17 and he would play the Robert Redford role. Maybe Day Napier. That's interesting. Austin Butler as the Brad Pitt role. You're right. Abernathy Rae asked why P.L. they put him on timeout. I did that by accident.
Starting point is 01:44:28 Sorry. Sometimes I'm in the middle of trying to do a thousand things. I hit the button, and I did stupid things. So you have timeout. now you're back. Danapper, as far as, as far as, yeah, that would be interesting to do if they're going to do a spy game remake, but I don't know if anybody's clamoring for a spy game remake. That's the genre that isn't doing well.
Starting point is 01:44:48 Like dad movies are not crushing except for action ones. Yeah. Jeff Howard, Winston or Corey, you ever heard of Snow the Product? Hands down, Best Female MC in the Game, right? I am familiar with Snow the Product. I am a big fan of Snow the Product. I wouldn't say Snow, in my opinion, is the best female rapper in the game.
Starting point is 01:45:09 She's definitely up there. Samara, oh my God, I can't remember her last name, but she was just in the double XL freshman class list, which I did a reaction to and is, it was so bad. But she actually, Samara Sin, that's her name. She's so good and she was on the Daily Show recently and got to do it. She is, she's going to be a star, man.
Starting point is 01:45:31 I'm a Dochi guy, man. No, she's good too. I think Doci is. special. I like don't and don't, man, don't sleep honestly on Lotto. Lotto is actually really good. I just obviously she got a lot of ass twerking songs. So, you know, uh, okay, let's see. Jackson Dennis, British Christian is Tom Hardy. Am I wrong? Isn't British Christian? As in like the British version of you is Tom Hardy. Oh, praise. Hey, that is high praise for both of you. Well, both of us, I don't know about that, but that's nice. But, uh,
Starting point is 01:46:04 Christian seems less feral. I always like that Tom Hardy is like, you never know what's going to happen. I feel like Christian's a lot more civilized. Right. That's bait. Hey, today, tell that the Galaxy's Edge. All right.
Starting point is 01:46:15 So Brandon Summers, incompetence, Brown's Stadium is a factory of sadness. That is true. That is true. I mean, I'm not saying that it's not, but there is, I don't know how to describe this. There is this weird feeling.
Starting point is 01:46:29 Can you imagine that the cowboys at this point feel like Charlie Brown, bro. I keep trying to kick that damn football. And then Jerry Jones's Lucy just rips that shit away from me. And I smacked my head. If I never got to even get in the game in the first place, it's sad, but like it's just a different level of torture, man.
Starting point is 01:46:49 Yeah, that's about what. Jackson, Dennis, fan cast Voldemort. Also, Winston is Buckwild. Oh, Buck Wild. This Buck Wild. Do I just not remember? I'm not sure. Buck Wild is.
Starting point is 01:47:01 What the hell are you doing now? That was amazing. That's like an ongoing dead. Every time he pops into the stream, I just randomly throw him on stage. It's one of my favorite thing. I put PLD as Voldemort. No,
Starting point is 01:47:28 as Voldemort, I would put, I think, Killing Heinz. Oh, I like that. Killian Murphy. That's,
Starting point is 01:47:37 killing Murphy is what I meant, but Killian Heinz, I'll stick with it. No, no, no, Killion Murphy. It's pretty good, too. I didn't mean.
Starting point is 01:47:43 You would be. I believe it. Killing Heinz, I meant it. I like a Killingh in the role. Killing Murphy is what I meant. But yes. Winston,
Starting point is 01:47:53 do you have a fan cast? No, I said, no, I agree with Killing, Killing, Murphy, but you're right.
Starting point is 01:47:57 Kary and Hines would also do pretty well with it. Do you guys feel like Roxy and Mike are as crazy as I am when they said that they don't, know if the if the harry potter series is going to do well i don't i don't know if it's going to necessarily do well to be honest you crazy i mean by by ip alone sure yes but but i don't think it's going to do the numbers that like the old harry potter i know it's a tv show so it's different metrics you're already only you're already owe me five dollars you want to you want do you want to um
Starting point is 01:48:28 you want to make it another five not not not really because again just by the nature of the ip I think it will do just fine. I just don't think it's going to hit the heights that the original Harry Potter did. It's hard to, it's hard to balance that, like you said, because one's TV and ones, but it's going,
Starting point is 01:48:46 the numbers for the first episode are going to be astronomical. I think it's going to be another giant pop culture, is like a shift thing. 100%. It's got two rounds because all the parents that grew up on it are going to watch it and the kids that discover it. I think it's going to be huge. It's going to be massive.
Starting point is 01:49:03 It's going to be massive. Um, fireside reviews. No cause. HFG takes place before. Oh, that's the hunt for gallum. It takes place before fellowship. They did,
Starting point is 01:49:13 they don't catch him. So if they do, yeah, it will mess with continuity. They can't catch him. They can't catch him. It would be after the trilogy. No,
Starting point is 01:49:22 before, it takes place before the, oh, it does. That's what they're saying. Yeah. Well, because after he's, he's dead.
Starting point is 01:49:28 Yeah. So that doesn't work. Yeah. Um, A. Rago, you see the new trailer with Emma Stone where she gets kidnapped? Look interesting.
Starting point is 01:49:33 No, I didn't. It's a new Yorgos movie. How don't she's doing now with movies with Yorgos? She just did it. That's like a third movie with him. I think third or fourth, yeah. Right.
Starting point is 01:49:44 Go pal. Do we know when the dogma 4K comes out? I don't. I know Kevin's going to be touring with it, but I don't know when that is. Oh, God, I can't wait. Tyler Fifer, missed my first member.
Starting point is 01:49:58 See, let's see. Just, Tyler, just put it on, put it in the chat, and I'll highlight it because I went through it and I didn't see it. So just, just I'll look for, I'll look for it in the regular chat and I'll just highlight it. Okay. So again, right now at 91. Nice. Yeah, this is one of my favorite lines in Schmo's no history.
Starting point is 01:50:20 And it was during the beginning of the showdown. You guys don't know. It's when JTE was on trial. And Bobby Finstock was his lawyer to which he said, I believe in trial and error. I believe my client being on trial. on trial? It's an error. Watching older
Starting point is 01:50:37 Shmoza. It's one of the best. It's one of the best. Casey Grant-Aplice quality shows. Can you even, you're kidding. Like, the studio's the best show on TV.
Starting point is 01:50:49 The morning show. Ted Lasso. I think Mythic Quest is so slept on. Mythic Quest is fantastic. Severance, shrinking. Mockingbird. Is Mockingbird one of those two? What was the space one?
Starting point is 01:51:02 Oh, yeah, right. For all mankind. We just listed like 10. Yeah. Oh, so Armada did say, Charles, now you know. I don't know if I have the music to it. Okay. Now you know.
Starting point is 01:51:16 Here we go. He just disappeared. Okay. That's it. No, I'm not leaving. Now, you know. Who is leaving now? Now you know, it's going.
Starting point is 01:51:30 Bye, bye. We're going to wonder where's going to go. I look into the sky. Then there he goes. And I stand. I'm imagining. It's going to be Winston. Watching the last drag.
Starting point is 01:51:43 Now you know. Now you know. Nice song. Terrible. All right. Let's see. Corn Emperor. Give us Mike's GoFund me for equipment.
Starting point is 01:51:53 You know, an Amazon list might be something that I might have to do for that guy. Because I've been asking him for, I can't even tell you. I think that he wasn't my friend. I would fire him. I'm kidding. I just put a roadcaster on my birthday wish list and I'm like, maybe that's the way I, like,
Starting point is 01:52:09 there's a point where that, like the internet doesn't happen. I just look, a lot of ours, when I was going from skybound to here and then from here to New York, the audience helped tremendously with making that happen. You just wishlisted stuff and posted that. Yeah, wishless. And even look, my last roadcaster was busted. It had a button on a faulty button.
Starting point is 01:52:32 and I was screwed and it was on the wish list and somebody got it. So yeah. Armada. Is it time for a silence of the lambs reboot? I don't do enough movies that you are similar to them. You know, we don't need to do that. Dancing Dog 60 for Mike and his bill. This Trump economy sucks.
Starting point is 01:52:48 We really got to get that, uh, that, that, well, I'll talk to Mike. Marcus M. First of Fat Boys break up now every day I wake up. What is, what's that from? First of Fat Boys break up. Oh, it's killing me. Oh, is, is it? that I oh my god it's killing me oh I can hear it come on come on is it was it ice cube
Starting point is 01:53:08 that said it mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-no love in the heart of the city ain't no love in the heart of the time I know that I know the city Jay-Z I was from a it's from a song I thought it was from a movie okay yeah Casey Grant seven influenced by the killing joke comic? I don't think so. I like the tonality comparison, but I only influenced. When did the killing joke drop, though? Because I thought seven came out before it.
Starting point is 01:53:41 No, killing joke was late 80s. I didn't realize the killing joke was that old. I thought it was like, and seven was 95. You have five minutes before both myself and Corey got to go live. So Dennis Hoffman, Hope Richon does something new where he focused. I like, I can see him being Lifeelt's profit with Sam Hargrave directing. something that hasn't been betrayed before.
Starting point is 01:54:01 I hope he does something great. I really do. I like him a lot. I like the fact that he's meeting him. And like he said, I think Gun's a fan. I do think that it means things, man.
Starting point is 01:54:09 You said Gunn was watching 1923. I'm telling you, my prediction is that Sclenar gets cast as Batman and Timothy Dalton gets cast as Alfred. That's my, that's my bet. Hey, Asel. I remember first watching Coy and the real rejects
Starting point is 01:54:23 talking Eternals, and I thought, this guy knows his stuff. That led me to a rabbit hole finding other things Coy is in. That's how I ended up finding this channel. And now I watch his channel on an early basis.
Starting point is 01:54:33 Hope you and Koi can figure out whatever you need to figure out to keep him on here. I feel like we will. Figure out something. Yeah, I figure out. I think. I'm a good pal. Isn't Heinz name Kier, Kier.
Starting point is 01:54:46 I don't know how you pronounce it. What I said, Killian? Yeah, right. Yeah, we both said, I put them both together. I meant,
Starting point is 01:54:53 because I meant Killion Murphy and Kieran, Heinz is the other one. So yes, 100%. And I like how Gopal does that, by the way. That's just a classic goal pal. Instead of saying, hey, dummy, it's this. He's like, hey, isn't it?
Starting point is 01:55:06 He knows very well what it is, but he's being a nice guy about it. He's stupid. It's not this. Hey, Dancing Dog 60, love you guys. DCU Batman needs to be heartened it. I like that choice. Josh is Bruce Wayne. Imagine him kicking ass in Guns Universe.
Starting point is 01:55:19 Bro, hire me to cast. I like it. I like it. Jackson Dennis was the W review from 16 years ago, your first ever. No. It was our first Schmo's no review ever on YouTube, but it was not our first review together ever. Brandon Summers, might as well be called the Cleveland Charlie Browns. Going on a miss you on the show.
Starting point is 01:55:39 My guy adding much needed diversity alongside Winston. Very fair. Very fair. Jackson Dennis. Charles feels like a South Park character. He really is. Armada, ranked Backstreet Boys, New Kids on a Block and Insinct. This is just because, again, I would say, new kids.
Starting point is 01:55:58 in sync and then backstreet boys how armada wrote it back street new kids in sync oh wow i'm to go back street in sync new kids wow jeff howerton what about an f1 collab with talladega nights nah too goofy but i would love to see i'd love to see if you want to see rickie bobby maybe in one race talking shit i could do that but that's that's about it that's right um oh and then tyler fifer asked i asked what winston thought of three 11 we talked about them last week three yeah so the the band yeah i had never heard of them i still haven't had a chance to listen to him but i'll as soon as we end i'll put it on while i'm working how about that you're curious nancing dog 60 we need a break in three boogaloo shrimp still alive perfect uh day napper clock king is one of my favorites
Starting point is 01:56:43 from btas would you rather see him in the dc u or reeves dc um if they do it as a joke dc u i could see it being like a ridiculous opening villain if you wanted to make a psychological study of a man obsessed with time that breaks his mind. I could see Matt Reeves using him, but it would be different tones. But he's one of those villains that I could see Matt Reeves really making something special from. He's also so dangerous because of his plotting, you know? I know nothing about that. So I believe you guys.
Starting point is 01:57:12 99 on Coy's last show, taking the victory on his way. Even hunted. Come on. Just making an even hunted to get out of him. Took a winning shot off the court, Coy Jondro. All right. Koi. So where are they going to find you that can't find you here for now? For now. Uh, having me down on my YouTube, first of all, I'm really trying to grow my own
Starting point is 01:57:32 personal YouTube and Christian's been essential and recommending. I do that for years and I finally started listening. So find me there. I'm going live here in a minute talking about comics themselves. So please at Koi Jondro on YouTube, this very platform. You can also find me on Instagram and TikTok and DC and HBO and Real Rejects and the Hollywood Reporter and the escape pod and lots of other, and my podcast, all those places. Winston A. Marshall.

Spill a tequila with Roker on Tuesdays over on his channel. Blurts on the hood back on Wednesdays. Back here on Fridays. And, you know, just with my YouTube channel, man, we're going to be doing a lot of like watch-alongs. And like I mentioned, Blazing Saddles is back.

And then again, go past. who's fine one more renetta guys five years ago to gay we lost the legend tabbock bosman uh bosman carried great strength and purpose into his role i can't believe this in five years leaving us more than movies he left legacy gone too soon his light and impact will live forever on beautifully said and yes he was i got an opportunity to interview him at comic con one year with uh with
Starting point is 01:58:43 tiffany and man such a great guy such a presence about my my favorite interview oh yeah i ever did Yeah. So, yeah, very well said, Renaud. He was a real, it's a real bright light. Dancing Dog 60, Corey the Man, and then Jackson Dennis for the last one. Steve Buscemi is man bat. We'll watch. Yeah, we'll watch. Guys, thank you so much for being here.
Starting point is 01:59:08 Thanks for supporting the show as it was been in its forms. It's the beginning. Hey, every once in a while there's a band and one of the founding members goes off to do another solo album or something along those lines. And when that album crashes, like, I'm crawling back. No, it's fine. You know, we wish Corey are the best. Corey is a, and he can't even, you can hear me, but he can't say anything.
Starting point is 01:59:31 And I, I love, I adore Corey. And I wish him nothing but the best. And like I said, I made it a priority for myself to make sure that I said, well, wait a minute. I don't want him just to go off into the win. I got to find a way. And I really do find, I think that I found a way. that koi and i will be able to do something together we just got to let it you know see how it let it let it marony but boy uh nothing but the best my friend you're crushing it everywhere you go and make sure
