Starting point is 00:00:00 Happy Monday, everybody. Monday, Monday, Monday. It's still Dr. Strange. Fire Starter is on Peacock. Mm-hmm. We'll talk about Avatar. We'll talk about some TV shows that I definitely don't know about that Roxy Stryor is going to tell us about. Brett Sheridan watched so many movies on Netflix.
Starting point is 00:00:21 He's going to tell you about all of them. So we have a lot to talk about with you guys today. It's going to be a blast. And if you haven't done this already, I don't know why you haven't, but you should absolutely subscribe to the channel. hit that like button, the notification button. If you didn't know by June 1st, if we get to 50,000 subscribers, going to smash myself in the face with a lemon pie.
Starting point is 00:00:40 I'll do a whole video, a lemon pie on my grill. But that's all we got for you today. We'll bullshit. We'll do some more stuff. We'll talk. We'll see where the conversation takes us. Very curious about, you're going to hear Roxy and I just rave about Top Gun, which I'm sure that's why I probably titled the episode,
Starting point is 00:00:59 something about Top Gun. as we preview it. But that's it. Let's get into it. Yeah, everybody. Welcome back. Also, if you haven't subscribed to the podcast feed, Apple Podcasts, putting on around three or four of these a week now.
Starting point is 00:01:21 Some big changes coming. Good changes coming soon that we can announce. And that's it. To my right, Roxie Stryor is here, ladies and gentlemen. I have so much to tell you. I just remember. All right. talking. All right. And then we got this character.
Starting point is 00:01:39 I don't remember anything. You don't remember anything. You forgot. I remember one thing. What? What? What do you got? Roxie's going to talk about. Are you on Roxy? Are you on Tulsa? Yeah. Well, yeah. Yeah. How to do. Brett, you're rubbing off on me, my friend. So we were supposed to come here yesterday, but we didn't.
Starting point is 00:01:56 No, it was a thing. It was a whole thing. And so instead, I texted Brett and said, disco ball hanging time. Oh, so you, okay, okay. And he was like, yeah. We now officially have a disco ball, a bond of disco balls that are hung from my kitchen. We've also got a lot of wires and no light. So there's going to be a part two, but it's looking pretty swanky. So what is it?
Starting point is 00:02:21 Like a club now, a nightclub? It's like a big ass two foot. Massive fucking disco ball. So what? So let me ask you. So is this, it's kind of like a bit? No. No?
Starting point is 00:02:32 Did you really want to hang it up? Oh, it's going to be part of it. Okay, here's what happened. You know, you know, stuff sent it to me drunk. She just bought it on Amazon or something? We were out. We saw a disco ball. I said, I love disco balls.
Starting point is 00:02:45 Okay. She said, you have disco balls? I want to get you the disco ball. Two days later it was on my door. Okay. So she hammered sent me a disco ball. I think she thought it was like a little tiny disco ball. No, if you know, if you know her, she got exactly what she thought she was going to get.
Starting point is 00:03:02 I don't know. You don't think so? It's huge. It's massive. Like, it's a fucking. massive disco ball. It's for a club. So there was nowhere to put it.
Starting point is 00:03:09 Okay. Where'd you hang it for? We didn't do anything. Well, we put it above a glass table, which is always where you're hanging anything. Well, if it's him, I'd say it's secure, but it's still good luck to you. Yeah. But he put it on this motor and it spins like a, what? No, I'm just trying.
Starting point is 00:03:26 This is really complex. It was really complex. Well, first of all, we had to take out a light fixture and fan. Okay. Then he put this up. I have, I want it to be his first TikTok. I filmed it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:36 And I, and maybe we can convince him to do it. Maybe we can convince him, yeah. But he's calling his brother. He's telling his brother he's a lazy fuck. I don't really understand the whole relationship. My brother's like, well,
Starting point is 00:03:47 he's working. Yeah, he's in the middle of like doing electrical and I'm like, hey man, if I put the cord on this city, you know, it's like,
Starting point is 00:03:55 yeah, yeah, okay, I'm in an attic right now. I'm feeling like really not confident. He's like, so the black to the red, right?
Starting point is 00:04:02 And his brother's like, I don't know, man. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I was like, we're about to have a big problem here, but I was just like, I trust you, Brett. I trust you.
Starting point is 00:04:10 I would, yeah. And it does, it now spins, but we've got the core. It's a whole situation, so I'll keep you posted, but there is a disco ball up. I will say, I do have an Amazon cart full of things I would like to show you after the show. And I fully conceptualized how it's going to work. There's going to be dining lighting and then party switch. So we'll label them to dining, dining lighting. And party.
Starting point is 00:04:34 Because I live in a place with a day. And then I thought that I could put a dimmer switch on it so you can have like a lovely. Sick. Do you, when you said, is it a bit? Do you mean like for men that I bring home? No. No, no, no, no, no. Did you think I got a disco ball for this show to talk about it?
Starting point is 00:04:48 No, no, no, no, no, not a bit for the show. Just a bit, like a life bit, meaning that my friend bought me a disco ball. So I need to put it up. Yeah. I don't really. I would never really get a disco ball for my house. But because she got it for me, I might as well put it up. And then people will walk into my house and say,
Starting point is 00:05:05 you have a disco ball and it's a conversation starter now. Okay, so I guess it's a bit. It's a bit. You just perfectly described exactly what happened. Totally. But it's actually kind of cool. And like, I love disco music.
Starting point is 00:05:17 Like every time I walk into my door, I say, Alexa, sorry for you guys who are listening this out loud and I just did that. Alexa, play disco radio. Like,
Starting point is 00:05:24 I love Diana Ross on a summer. Like I'm a big Casey, the Sunshine Band. Like, I love fucking blasting disco. And so it does fit my vibe. And I feel like anybody who I do bring home is going to think I'm cool.
Starting point is 00:05:36 Yeah, you're in a different age group. Yeah. Well, I'm kind of reliving. I had a disco ball. This is the way the world works. Why do you say it like that? Like my 30s is a good time for a disco ball. My 40s wouldn't be?
Starting point is 00:05:47 Probably not. But 30s is still? Yeah. Okay. You'd be all right. Do you see that? I just, I had a thumbs up during that. Yeah, the whole time.
Starting point is 00:05:54 I was like you're like trying to lead me into the thumbs up. Yeah. Mental thumbs up. So you're saying I'm cool, right? Well, I wouldn't go that far. Yeah, okay. Well, as you get older to the thumbs up. I did that like, you know, years ago at a restaurant.
Starting point is 00:06:06 I was like, they're like, how's your food? I'm like, what the fuck am I doing? Well, my four-year-old does it. Double thumbs up. She does the thumbs up. And me, when I, my thing when I was in, like, when I would go to Vegas, especially after a few drinks, high-fiving everybody. Old ladies.
Starting point is 00:06:20 A high-five. Everybody. I would high-five the whole entire casino. What about post-pandemic? Ooh, do we high-five or do we not high-five? We don't know. Probably not. A little fist bump.
Starting point is 00:06:31 Yeah. A little fist bump. Fip-hip. Hip shake. You know what I saw on a door the other day? It said right on it. This is a self-cleaning door. Oh, look at that.
Starting point is 00:06:40 Really strange, right? Yeah, probably. New technology, man. Self-cleaning door. Yeah, that's what I said. I don't know how that works. On the, like, the push button, it said on it, like, self-cleaning door. I didn't question it much.
Starting point is 00:06:52 I'll let you know if I find out what that means. Listen, they have cars that can drive themselves. Why not that? I don't know. Do they? Why? Ish. All right, listen to me.
Starting point is 00:07:00 Listening. We're going to talk about how you and I, We've been close for a while, but I think we bonded it a little bit more the other day. Oh, this is a big one for us. Yeah, this is a big one. So we, we,
Starting point is 00:07:09 I, I've been raving about to everyone that can hear, the audience is tired of it, um, every party. Well, I haven't got to a party. Anyway,
Starting point is 00:07:17 I went to a premiere and the, and I, the whole time, everyone's talking about how excited they were to watch Dr. Strange. I don't think I spoke about Dr. Dr. Strange once. I talked about Top Gun the whole time I was there.
Starting point is 00:07:27 Um, everywhere I go, I talked about it with Ellis. When Roxy was on this show a little while ago. we were talking about it and I said I promise you this movie is you don't have to be a massive fan of the first one even if you are you don't have to be
Starting point is 00:07:41 I did doubt you just so you know I feel a little bad about that yeah because I feel like this movie is so up your alley yeah I didn't know maybe you won't relate it to it the same way and I take no offense to that because I think a lot of people are going to feel that way and that's what that's what I was trying to tell people is that it has nothing to do with the attachment to the first movie like you could appreciate the first movie, but if you like good movies, you will love this movie.
Starting point is 00:08:08 Am I, was I accurate? It is the greatest. Like, I actually think that this is Tom. We can't review it. Oh, yeah, we can review it now. Yeah, we can. Yeah, we can't. You just give me a heart of time.
Starting point is 00:08:17 I forgot, I forgot, I forgot that the embargo dropped this morning. So yeah, you can. You know when you, like, my fear of just getting uninvited to everything I care about, just, like, sunk in, as you said that. It's the greatest. It's just like the, maybe the best Tom Cruise movie, maybe a top 10 movie. ever. I'm not trying to overhype it for people, but I don't think you can. It's so fucking good.
Starting point is 00:08:37 It's funny that you said that this morning, because I'm still thinking about this movie. Me too. And I've seen it twice. And you know what song, even though the Lady Gaga song is great. It is great. There's a song that I'll just say there's a football scene. That song, da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da. The song is, I was looking for it, and the soundtrack hasn't released yet.
Starting point is 00:08:57 I don't want it. But it's perfect. I know exactly what you're talking about that scene is. It is so good. But I happen to agree with you. I am, and I want to give recency bias a little bit of a weight, you know, but I feel like I don't know what movie of Tom Cruise is. I would rank higher than this one.
Starting point is 00:09:15 I do feel that this is better than the first movie. And the reason why is because, once again, in 1986, Tom Cruise was a star, but he wasn't Tom Cruise. And they had money, but didn't have Tom Cruise money. You know, and the money that they do have in this movie, every dollar counts. Yeah. Also, something about this movie made me forget that Scientology exists. So whatever this movie did, I was like, wow.
Starting point is 00:09:44 It really looked like the most beautiful visual movie I've ever seen. And that's crazy because we're coming off a year where we saw Dune. You know, we just saw that avatar trailer. There's some crazy things people can do in movies nowadays. But I think it's because what Tom Cruise does and how he's doing all of his own stuff and you're thinking about that and you're watching it and like the way that the planes are being captured. It's just unlike anything I've ever seen. But then the story is equally as good. That's the thing is that the emotion attached to, yes, the practical effects and everything that comes with it, it's great to see a movie that doesn't rely on CGI.
Starting point is 00:10:20 But it would mean nothing or it would feel shallow if it wasn't attached to this emotional story that isn't. nostalgia based that's just a good movie that like in and without spoiling anything you know like the mission that they have to go on to is so thought out so prepared it is such a well-written script it is brilliantly acted by everyone involved the team it's jose joseph kisnski who directed it there's there's no arguing this is his best movie i don't even know what his other mean tron legacy okay this is better and oblivion yeah okay wow and oh and he also did and he did that fire fire movie that i didn't see that came out i guess was brolin or whatever too that people liked what's What is he working on next?
Starting point is 00:10:58 Because I'm going to watch it. Right, exactly. I don't know, but people were saying, I was saying Fantastic Four is something they should, they should look at him. I know Krasinski, Kruzinski's probably going to get it. You think he's going to direct it? Kresinski?
Starting point is 00:11:09 Yeah. I think so. Wow. But I think Joseph Kuzzynski, I would be interested into, I was not a massive fan of his before this. Massive fan now. Because it's not,
Starting point is 00:11:19 this isn't just Cruz. This movie was directed brilliantly. Yeah. We also heard from a lot of, Miles Teller's greatest. Glenn Powell, I think, steals the show. is so good and then I went home and I followed him on Twitter and then he followed me back. Nice.
Starting point is 00:11:31 I love. I love that. Look at that. We haven't gotten to that last part. Did you talk about how good Glenn Powell was? So fucking good. On Twitter. No, he followed you without you saying?
Starting point is 00:11:38 Okay. I should have. No. Hey, he followed you without you saying that. He is so good in it. He is so good. He is really, really good. Did you see that?
Starting point is 00:11:46 He was not going to take the movie? Did you just see? No. So I was just reading. He was not going to take the movie because he wanted the lead role. I'm assuming he's talking about Miles Teller. Oh. And then Tom Cruise talked to him and was like,
Starting point is 00:11:57 Do you think that I made my career off of taking great roles? No, I pick great movies. Right. And then you make the role your own. And then he took it. He made that role his own. Hardcore. He's essentially, again, not spoiling it for anybody, you know, just the character itself is a mix between young Maverick and young Iceman in one character.
Starting point is 00:12:18 Like that's, that's. I thought you were going to say Chappie Sinclair. Well done. Well done. Oh, no. Iron Eagle. Iron Eagle It's my
Starting point is 00:12:28 And eventually Do it for Chappie I'm surprised They put that line in this film But it was a nice Oh And I And I
Starting point is 00:12:35 And yeah He does he does have a quick flyby What Mavre says Do it for Chappi Do it for Chapping Yeah That shocked you Huh
Starting point is 00:12:41 Yeah Yeah It's not chaffey This is one of those New Chappies In Clare that's How dare you spoil that for people Oh my God
Starting point is 00:12:52 Oh my God Brett Sherrod and told us Chappies McClure Jack. It's a great movie. How great is that in Cobra Kai when he's watching Iron Eagle? So good.
Starting point is 00:13:04 But I think that that's what people are going to be nervous going on into this movie. Is that they're thinking because of Cobra Kai and because of this nostalgia, like, oh, this is going to be like a fun kind of nostalgia throwback and I'm just going to feel good. Yeah, that's there. But this is a great movie. Like people are, like, I'm not even kidding. Not like people like, myself and Ellis are like, that should be nominated for an Oscar.
Starting point is 00:13:27 Like legit, people are legit talking that this movie should be nominated for Best Picture. And I concur. I think I'm definitely biased because I have not wanted to see, first of all, I've seen this movie twice in the theater before he's come out because I weasled my way into get into a second screening. But I've not wanted to see a movie in the theater for a third time
Starting point is 00:13:48 and I don't know how long. Wow. I don't even think I've seen the last Star Wars movie I saw three times in the theater was a fan of menace. You know. Now, Roxy, you recently said
Starting point is 00:13:59 that you don't like to see things twice in a theater. Is this... I definitely would. No, I definitely would go see this a second time
Starting point is 00:14:05 because one of the things that, and I wonder if you heard this too, one of the things that happened after this movie played was everybody was like, oh, I can't wait to take Blah blah.
Starting point is 00:14:14 So I was like, I can't wait to take Popo to this movie and stuff was like, oh, I want to take my dad to this. Right. I really want to take my grandparents to it.
Starting point is 00:14:20 It's an event. It's an event because it's, it's just and I keep saying they don't make movies like this anymore because it's the storytelling aspect of how they tell you're so invested in every like take your wife to see this movie in the theater don't wait for it like and if you've been watching this show long enough you know that I'm always like I'm gonna pull up a chair I'm gonna have an edible I'm gonna watch it on my my my TV go to the theater and see this movie the sound alone the sound well we watch it in the Dolby which is unbelievable if you can see it in Dolby or IMAX or whatever go and see it. If you can't, just go see it in the theater because you with the majority of theaters
Starting point is 00:14:57 today, this sounds pretty damn good. You know I don't understand kids at all, but could Brett take his kids or no? Yeah. Both? Yeah, they're both. They're both. My oldest just watched the first movie. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:15:08 Hilarious, by the way, because she's 10. So she was watching, and she's in this face. She perfectly summed up a 10-year-old girl. She was watching him, and she's like, as she's watching Tom Cruise and Kelly McGill, she's like, oh, come on, give her a kiss already, right? and then they start mauling each other.
Starting point is 00:15:25 She's like, oh, God. She's like, gross. She's like eating each other's faces. That's funny. It was hilarious because it's just like that. It was the epitome of just like innocence. You know, like, of, so anyway, just watching that whole thing. But yes, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:15:40 Kids can watch this movie. Yeah, it goes, again, once we get to spoiler territory, we'll be able to talk a little bit more about things that I really enjoyed about of what they did inside of the plot. but I can't wait for people to see this. I can't shut the hell up about it. Like, yeah. I am getting to the annoying spot.
Starting point is 00:15:59 I think where I'm like really calling people to tell them about. Like I called my brother. You're in my camp. Yeah, I'm calling people and saying, you have to go see this movie. They're like, it's not out for another couple weeks. Like, why am I being so obnoxious?
Starting point is 00:16:09 But I need everybody to know how good it is. That's why they were so smart to a wait to, because they could have put it. They were supposed to put it out in 2019. Oh, yeah. Then they waited. And then 20, you know, 2020 hits. Just put it on Paramount Plus.
Starting point is 00:16:24 No. 2021. Put it on Paramount Plus. No. Wait until it comes out. Very smart to do that. They knew what they had. Very smart.
Starting point is 00:16:31 And another reason that's very, they released, they screened it at CinemaCon, which was like a month before it comes out, get the buzz started there. Then they do the junket screening and the premiere. Get the buzz started there. Then they do the all critics screening. Get the bus started there. And then you still have two more weeks before the movie comes out. And what you just did?
Starting point is 00:16:52 I did to my brother. I called my brother and I was like, hey, he's a top gunman in the first one. I'm like, everything that we just said in the air just now is what I said to him. He's like, really? I'm like, dude, see it in the theater as, I, I said it in my review too, and I forgot. I thought that it was coming out this past, this weekend that just passed. And I was like, I realize it comes out at the end of the month. What an end of the month we have, by the way, Obi-Wan,
Starting point is 00:17:17 Stranger Things, and this. It's a hell of it. a month. You mentioned it when I was at your place yesterday. You said to check it out. Yeah. That's how much it was on your mind. Yes.
Starting point is 00:17:30 I'm nonstop talking about. How do you think it, I know it's not either of our thing, really, but how do you think it does box office wise? Very well. Like what's well? So I think, and we just had this conversation this past Friday for the Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, which was an absolute shitbox of a movie, right?
Starting point is 00:17:49 But it did $1.4 billion dollars that movie did. right? Oh my God. Yeah. And the first one, the first one made, Jessica wrote me 1.6 billion. So the second one What happened? It's, listen man, people like dinosaurs and people like, and it's the four corners. And now the new one, the new one's going to crush because it's got the legacy characters. So it's going to do just as well. But Top Gun is something. That's why this word of mouth was so important because I think it was, if you didn't put that word of mouth out and just people were just going and seeing it, it would have been that kind of, ah, it wasn't really for me. The first one I thought it was okay, but everybody's raving about it now.
Starting point is 00:18:26 Everybody's talking about this movie. There's no competition really until Jurassic World. So they've got to get people into that theater quick to see it. You think it could make a billion, Christian? No. I don't think so. I don't think so. You think there's any world, right?
Starting point is 00:18:41 No, I think it deserves to make a billion. I think if there's any movie that made, this is one of the best films I've seen in the last five years. Yeah. Just like it's the, it's, now I didn't see everything everywhere at once. Did you see, did you see it? No, not yet. I need to, everyone talks and says that that's just as good. That's the, oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:00 No, that's the one that where Lonnie said, I want to see this. I've heard so much about it. So now it's like a toss up between, we might have to do a double header. Yeah. Unless you get out quick and see that one now. I might go sneak out and see that this week. Probably should. Probably should this week.
Starting point is 00:19:16 I think so. It's going to be gone soon. I feel like it's been. That's why I want to go. I don't want to really want to see that one in the, on, I mean, I guess it's not like a massive big screen movie to see, but I kind of want to see it in the theater. Yeah, because I hear the visuals.
Starting point is 00:19:27 Yeah. Yeah. I want to go check that one out. And then, but if that one delivers, because that one is also getting similar amount of buzz the way Top Gun is, right? Like, everyone I talk to about that movie,
Starting point is 00:19:41 like when I say to me, when I tell people, as I'm talking about Top Gun and I say, hey, Top Gun is the best movie I've seen a long time. But did you see everything? It's exact same conversation. I'm like, shit, I haven't seen it. That's so, so I like the fact that I'm going to be put in,
Starting point is 00:19:55 because the other reason I'm going to be put in a dilemma, if the movie's that good, you know, I'm obsessed with parallel universes and multiverses and that show. Way before Marvel and DC and everybody was doing it, I was, I researched that stuff and, and I'm so curious about it.
Starting point is 00:20:11 And I was a little disappointed by the way that multiverse of madness handled it. So this movie is supposed to be like on brand with what I love. So I might be in a dilemma. after I see it with what the hell did I like more? What's my number one? Not a shitty dilemma at all. It's like, and this is just also based off this conversation that we had on Friday about
Starting point is 00:20:32 box office right now, remember like when the heat when we were covering the summer movies, there was so much material that the studios were putting out. And streaming wasn't like a big, it was a thing, but it wasn't the way that it is now. Streaming really, like the pandemic gave so much business to streaming.
Starting point is 00:20:51 and had business take off because of all the material, and the only way that they really could get their stuff out was to put it on streaming, right? So now streaming became this just giant by circumstance. And it was also eventually leading there anyway. But before that, summer season was starting to like, because there was so much material, April was starting the summer season. It used to be always May, but then because Infinity War, end game,
Starting point is 00:21:18 Fast and Furious would all hit in April, and they would get like you'd get like one or two movies in that same weekend and boom boom boom boom they were like one or two that would come out every week but after 2020 and because people are just starting to get back into the theater now we are in a place where it's really one big movie and then maybe another one two or three weeks later dr strange nothing and then top gun then Jurassic world then like light year and you know what I mean like this yeah so yeah And those are also different. Very, very different. You can give me a number, Christian. I know. Opening weekend. So I want to see what the budget is on that film.
Starting point is 00:21:58 Could it be bigger? In total, could it be 700? Total? I have no idea. I suck at this. The numbers thing is always. You know why? Normally, back in the day, it was a little easier for me to do.
Starting point is 00:22:12 Like a gazillion? I don't know. Where the hell is it? While you're searching for it, just because you just brought up Multiverse of Madness, the other day saw it written out and it's M-O-M. Did you end up seeing Dr. Shay? Do you think that's on purpose?
Starting point is 00:22:25 I don't know. I don't know. It's interesting, though. I don't know. I saw that and was like, Mom, wow. And Mother's Day weekend. Wanda. Budget.
Starting point is 00:22:36 152 million. Well, it's definitely going to make its marketing and its money. It'll definitely make $252. No way it doesn't make $300. It's going to make $300 for sure. Internationally is the big question. Yeah. How does it play in the next?
Starting point is 00:22:50 The very, uh, the very American movie. That's true. Oh boy. But also American and American, uh, the people on our side.
Starting point is 00:23:00 Yes. It's, look, it is, it doesn't, it doesn't rely. It's not an America, fuck yeah movie.
Starting point is 00:23:06 Yeah. It's just, it is, it's about the, uh, it's about the, it's about the Navy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:10 It's about, but it's about a mission. It's about teamwork. It's about all this other stuff. So, hmm. Um, more than 500.
Starting point is 00:23:17 They're so stoked. stoked? I think it makes 600 million. Wow. That would be huge. That would be huge. I mean it makes 600 million because I think word of mouth is really going to carry this movie over. If this movie could make, if it possibly ever made a billion dollars, then it would show that like a movie that's great can make money. Like not money, yes, but a movie that's great could make as much money as a big
Starting point is 00:23:41 franchise blockbuster. That's insane. And the argument against that would be, well, of course, It's got the biggest movie star in the world, and it's got Top Gun, which was big, which is, but I know exactly what you're saying. It's just that when you look at this movie that people were excited about and people like Brett and I were really excited about. But if you go back and look at my summer movie preview, I don't, I think I had it in my, I don't know where I had it. Maybe two or three, but I wasn't like talking about like, oh, man, like, I going into it, I thought that I would be like excited because the trailer was good. I thought I would be going into it going, all right, that was a doable secret. cool. Like I didn't like I might put it it's right and again I don't want to I don't want to do this thing where I just saw the movie and a recency bias but I'm like is this one of my favorite
Starting point is 00:24:31 movies ever? I know I'm like because I'm like because I'm so in that mode right now I don't want to do that yet but it's like I can't like there's no bathroom break that you there's no pee break you cannot drink you cannot catheter done I made Ellis go get me popcorn because he had already seen it. But even when he left, when I watched what was happening on screen, I was like, how the fuck could he have just left right now? He knew what was about to happen. And when I, it was funny because I had actually, the first time I saw it,
Starting point is 00:25:02 I did go to the bathroom for one, for one part. How dare you? I know, I know. And I did. And then I had to ask Ellis as we were leaving, like, what happened there? And it was a pretty, like I said, everything, if you walk out, you'll miss something. And I missed something pretty big. And then when I, when he talked.
Starting point is 00:25:17 told me about what I missed. And then when I watched it back, I'm like, oh, man, yeah, it definitely had a bigger impact. And I also saw it for a second time because I was wondering, okay, is it just because I had this hype that I was thinking about before going into it and it exceeded expectations? And I just liked it so much in that screening. Is it going to hold up on a second watch even more so? What were the difference between the screenings you went to, like energy-wise, both the same? I think the first
Starting point is 00:25:46 I don't know you know what it's funny I think they both had similar energy I think the first one had more people in it so it was a little bit more because the first one was no they were both in it was weird they both screened the first
Starting point is 00:25:58 they both screened around the same time like in the afternoon I wonder why they did that I don't know I think that I thought that was stupid going there but everybody went everybody went but I think that everybody had the same kind of
Starting point is 00:26:10 everybody was kind of in awe of what they were seeing people couldn't I think everyone couldn't believe that the sequel to Top Gun was that good. That's what I was thinking. Because again, as much as you're like, oh, this is awesome, you're going,
Starting point is 00:26:24 it's been so long. You're like, what are they going to do with it? Like, this was such an iconic film. Like, how to, after this amount of time, and I think everybody's expectations, even the ones that had high ones weren't that high for something like that.
Starting point is 00:26:37 And now that every, the surprise that I'm seeing from everyone was like, this was actually broken. So I can't tell you how thrilled I was, when the reactions started coming out from cinema con. Like, that was the first wave of it. And, like, people weren't just, and it wasn't, it was everybody that it was seeing. I mean, there's people, and I won't name names that I've seen that are, that are critics that I am convinced are just contrarians to be contrarians.
Starting point is 00:27:02 Like they, and I'm not talking about bibs. I don't think bibs has seen the movie. I really thought you were talking about this. I'm not talking about bibs. I want to make that clear. I don't think, I don't know if you've seen it yet. I have no idea. But no, there's a particular critic that I think of right away that just looks for retweets or tweets to get, and I see him at all of the screenings, and I never argue with him, and he just likes to argue with people.
Starting point is 00:27:31 And did he say this was good? I think he, I think he was the one person I saw that had, like, critiques against it. You know, he just, just to cause some shit. So I don't really take him serious at all. but the someone I do take very serious and that I I have the highest regard for is Drew McQueen. He does not like the first movie. Oh, he doesn't like the first. Really dislikes the first movie.
Starting point is 00:27:54 Said, you guys know how much I hate the first movie. He goes, second one is really good. I can't imagine hating this first movie because even if you don't love it, like did it bother him? I don't know. He doesn't remember he's an 80s junkie. So that's just one that didn't work for him. My version of that is Dorena, because Dorena is so negative about so many movies. And if it's popular, then we're screwed.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Like anything that's popular, she goes out. And so we were going to this movie. I'd heard all the good buzz about it from you and from everybody. And I was like, shit, should I even have DEC come with us? Because, like, I don't know. You didn't want it to be a downer? Yeah. And then she loved this fucking movie.
Starting point is 00:28:34 And I was like, if she loved it. But she loved it in her Doreena way. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was hilarious. When I saw her, because she's like, that was a lot of fun. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:42 That is like her shouting from the room. that was like her. For what we're doing right now, that's Doreen losing her mind. Unless it's like a heart, like hereditary. The way that she, the way that we're acting by this,
Starting point is 00:28:52 she acted about hereditary. Exactly. But when I saw it and I was, she's like, no, that's really good. Yeah. When she said that out. Glowing.
Starting point is 00:29:01 Honestly, for her, it really was. Like, oh, this movie's going to do well. You got D on your side? Yeah. It's the truth. Well,
Starting point is 00:29:06 you know what else you guys should have on your side? Athletic Greens. I'll tell you that right now. I have been loving athletic greens. I have been raving about athletic greens. The same way I've been raving about Top Gun. I gave one to Roxy. Brett is the one who told me, man. I feel good about myself because I don't get enough greens. and it's like packed with everything that I should be eating. And it does. It's just one of my nails are stronger.
Starting point is 00:29:42 Yeah. I've noticed like things like that. I feel great when I take it. And it's got a great taste, which is interesting. I didn't expect that at all. I didn't have the time for vitamins and things of that. I just rush, rush, rush.

Starting point is 00:31:25 Chris Van Vlead this morning wrote me. It's like, hey man, what's your code? I've got to get some more athletic grants. Yeah, it's really, really good. I love it. And if you threw a party, invited everyone you blew. You would see the biggest gift. It'd be for me.
Starting point is 00:31:46 And the card attached would say thank you. Thank you. Just thank you. Because I couldn't give you anything else. Couldn't give you cash. It would be considered prostitution. What I just experienced is incredible. The mind of a bad man.
Starting point is 00:32:03 100%. Yeah, it was great. What did you think when you walked into when we were just giggling like idiots? And then when he's telling you and you're like, oh, yes, it's true. It's like, yeah, that's one that I wish we could. I just don't know if it'll play. There's something about you too that is unbelievable to get, like, I feel like you're not actually communicating. You're just laughing at the same shit.
Starting point is 00:32:28 I think we're communicating through laughing. Yeah, and I'm like, yeah, yeah. She's like, you're like, you're like, want to be involved in everything. I wish you was, did you ever watch the Santa Claus thing that we did, two of us? No,
Starting point is 00:32:42 what is it? I got to, I got to play the Santa Claus thing. What is it? I'm going to play it. Hold on. I got to play it. I got to play it.
Starting point is 00:32:51 All right. Well, then I got to watch it. Yeah. There it is. I literally labeled it. This is the hardest. I am so depressed by this because this is easily the hardest I've ever laughed on the big thing.
Starting point is 00:33:03 and I think it's got like 3,000 views. Why not? He sees when you are shaving. Yes. When you are, so shave your fucking balls right now because you don't want to stay. Don't use them fucking let sherry. Don't use a machete.
Starting point is 00:33:18 Don't cut your balls. You want to make sure that you got really nice balls because you got to have nice bowls. For day night. For day night. Even if you're watching The Bachelor or if you're watching Bond Or if you're watching Daniel Radcliffe with his naked wand
Starting point is 00:33:36 Hey, Badoo-B-D-Doo-Dee-Doo-Di-Doo-Doo-D. Are you telling me Santa Claus is watching me shave my balls? He has been accused of doing it. Him and Louis C.K. are on tour. And I don't really know right now what the hell we're going on. You know, the more I think of it, Santa's kind of a creep. What the fuck is this guy doing sleep?
Starting point is 00:34:04 They say that he had a thing with one of his reindeer. It's really not really nice. But again, it's not too clear. Twitter went out to try to cancel his ass, but he is Santa. So it went away kind of fast. Santa is uncansable right now. Give it some. It is uncansable right now.
Starting point is 00:34:34 We're going to lay that down. You tried to cancel his ass, but he's watching children's leave. He's been doing it for over 200 years, so get the fuck out of his way. They found a stack of tapes of him. He had a whole room of him. He had all these cameras for years. He didn't release him in the government. He's had road cameras.
Starting point is 00:35:08 30 years. We've been setting up mics watching people piss. This guy in a warehouse full of pissed names. They don't even get me started on the elves. And they just swept it under the rug.
Starting point is 00:35:27 Where's Ronnie the elf? He's been missing for years. Oh, man. He's stuck up in a stolen Vegas. Janet, can I come out? Got so much footage. This guy, that's the thing, he's got all this. He's got on everybody.
Starting point is 00:35:52 People he's fucking walked in on. He's lured up. Oh, Jesus. This guy is lawyer up for the dead. And he doesn't pay anything. He hasn't paid taxes. Here's the best thing. I want you to tell people I don't exist.
Starting point is 00:36:09 When they hit a certain age, I don't exist. Do you understand? Their shit. He's got this room called the DNA room. You don't want to know. 17 scientists locked in there with chains on it next. He stuck in COVID. Quist,
Starting point is 00:36:53 He wanted some time off for 2020. Oh, it's so good. It's so good. Oh, my God. I can't believe that you guys kept the tune for that. That was actually unbelievable. Oh, man. That was really good.
Starting point is 00:37:11 No drums. No drugs. I'm telling you, like that. All right, I like that one. So at everything that I've ever done, whether it's Shmowdown or this or anything, that is the one that hurts. it's me the most that only, not even 3,000 people have watched that video. That, to me is...
Starting point is 00:37:28 She'll put it on TikTok. Why don't you put on... The whole thing, it's like five minutes. Clip it back forth, back, forth. I'm going to have you do it for me. Yeah. Because I don't... I give up on things.
Starting point is 00:37:37 Like, here's the other thing. I talked about the video games, you know, the Fall in Order, the Star Wars one. I just watched the story. The story's fantastic. And I, and the game itself is fantastic. But I talked about how it's a difficult game because it's one of these games that if you don't, it'll let you just walk around in a circle in the trees and fall off cliffs
Starting point is 00:37:58 and it won't, like I need, I need, I'm a bad video game player. I need the game to say, hey, stupid, stop falling off cliffs and go over there and pick up the fucking rock and then go. And a lot of video games do that. Uncharted does that. This does not do that. So it'll just let you keep doing the same mistake over and the Lego video game I thought was going to be the same thing.
Starting point is 00:38:18 They just got that for my daughter and I plays all my, all the fans are saying, get Lego, get the Lego Star Wars. And I got it. And unless you change, there's like a setting when you start it. Where Leah, you started episode, episode four, she's just firing the gun as you're walking. She's just firing the blaster. And my daughter, like, how do you just get her to stop firing the blaster? And I like, Google it.
Starting point is 00:38:37 It's like, like, target settings. I'm like, why are they just firing it into the wall. My 10-year-old and I are trying to figure it out. Of course, the 10-year-old figures it out. But anyway, but yeah, but looking at that, that, I'm like, come on. not even 3,000 people watch that video. I was like, that to me is, that, that is my, that's my life work. That, that to me is my Mona Lisa.
Starting point is 00:39:00 You and I did that day. We laughed for so long on that one. What are the people that did watch us say, though? They loved it. Yeah, they loved it. People that watched it loved it. Like, yeah, and it. Not about how many.
Starting point is 00:39:11 No, and if people are looking for that clip, it is literally labeled. This is the hardest I've laughed on this show. But I love it. I love it so much. Okay. Other stuff. Talk to me about TV. What are we missing out on? Yeah, we got a lot of stuff going on right now. I mean, TV's the best it's ever been. We all know that. It gets better and better every year. But because of that, a lot of shit
Starting point is 00:39:32 slips in the cracks and, like, you're not watching almost anything right now. I mean, I'm, this is what I watched last week, Ron. So hold, hold your thought. Okay, I watch, I'm back to doing that thing again, Brett. We remember what I was doing before. You know, you know where I'm going with this. So I watched a very, a movie that every, Everybody's been talking about recently. It's very new. It's called Standby Me with Will Wheaton and Jerry O'Connell and River Phoenix. I watched that.
Starting point is 00:40:00 I watched another movie. I don't know if you've heard of this guy. His name's Jim Carrey was in The Truman Show. I watched Truman Show. Why are you doing this? I don't know, but I enjoy it very much so. It's a comfort thing, I think. Yeah, but a lot of it is.
Starting point is 00:40:12 It's the same reason I think that I like the Top Gun movie so much is because it's like it's different kind of filmmaking that they don't do anymore. And I'm not going to be one of these people that says, all the do is make Marvel DC stories. I like those movies. They're fun to watch. But it's not, but I like watching other shit too. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:31 And as you should. Yeah, but the TV, TV was watching, and it's a lot for work. Like I was watching Moon Night. I was watching, I think that I am going to start watching the boys because I've, so good. Because I've only watched like two episodes. I'm going to go back and start the whole season over again. So I'm into the new one.
Starting point is 00:40:48 Then I'll watch Stranger Things. Yeah, so you're watching all of the like nerd popular shows. Right now, yeah, because I think, because I, because the problem is this where it comes to my household is that if my wife is not on board with it, because we only have, we got two or three hours at night together. Yeah. That's it. And we got to be on the same page. I cannot for the life. The show I really want to start is that one, that Severn show that everyone loves.
Starting point is 00:41:12 It's the number one best show of not just the year. If you run into my wife on the way out, please tell her this because I'm, it's, it's. It's incredible. She will, for some reason, she's like, she said it reminds her. She's like, it reminds me of being John Malcovic. I don't like that movie. I don't want to, I don't want to, I don't want to do it. I, just like, and I could start the whole damn thing on my own.
Starting point is 00:41:34 But like I said, I just watched, we're doing the Jurassic Park, rewatch, and Top Gun. I just watched Top Gun, the original, but that's also because of rewatch. But it's only one season, Christian. So you could get and get out of life. I got to convince her. I mean, I could watch it by myself, but it's like, you know, then it's a matter of just taking time back here watching it because once I get the living room at night, it's got to be on the same page. Yeah. And I started watching that WeWork thing. It's watching that with Ann Hathaway.
Starting point is 00:41:59 Yeah, it ended up being good at by the end. Pretty good. But it wasn't my favorite of the year, but it was good. And the other thing we were watching was the dropout, which I, that was really good. I liked it too. But like I said, my wife bailes on shit all of the time. And like, it drives me crazy because I'll be in, I'll be in, I like, if I start a movie, if I start a show, I got to finish it. She didn't give her shit. She don't like it. She's out. Yeah, I forgot about severance. That's on my like, oh, shit. I'm going to see it.
Starting point is 00:42:23 It is as much as top gun is must watch of the year. Severance is for TV. You got to, I need you to sell it. Oh, my God. You've got to sell it on the way out. The thing I'm having a hard time selling with is that there seems to be two different classes of people. The first class is like, from day one, they are hooked.
Starting point is 00:42:39 They love the show. The second class is like, it took me a few episodes. And I'm nervous if your wife's in there, it took me a few episodes. She's gone. She is that way that if she's like, if she doesn't, doesn't want to watch something, you got to get her quick. Yeah. Oh, we started watching Scream the other night, the new scream.
Starting point is 00:42:55 Did you see it? Mm-hmm. It's pretty stupid. It's enjoyable. I liked it. I thought it was stupid funny, though. I was going to say, it's enjoyable, but it's stupid. Like, people would say, no, it's as clever as the first one.
Starting point is 00:43:09 It isn't. No, it's certainly not. Ghost faces walking around, killing people in mid-afternoon with nobody. And then he goes into a hospital, and there's this whole scene where he's going after one of the victims in the hospital. That was fucked up and sad. But nobody's there. No.
Starting point is 00:43:26 But I'm saying, but you, I know what you're saying before where we get to. But nobody's there. There's no, and someone said, well, the reason why is all the cops left to the, because somebody else got killed. And it's like all the cops left, the hospital. That's part of it. And we're all the workers and all this stuff. It's like they just, the rules are gone.
Starting point is 00:43:46 But then, like you said, it's a screen movie, dude. Just enjoy it. And for the, for the, I'm enjoying watching it. Like I am. It's just, it's, it's. What do you mean you're enjoying watching it? Like multiple. You don't understand how we watch things in my place.
Starting point is 00:43:57 You don't understand. Like how many settings. Okay. So look, this is how it goes in my house. Brett, you understand. You relate to this. So my, what happens at night is that the four year old goes to, goes to sleep around. We try to get her in around seven o'clock to start the bedtime.
Starting point is 00:44:16 So usually one of us, depends on, she's on, She's on this daddy kick right now. So I'm going in there around like eight after the stories. One of the reasons I think that my oldest daughter reads so much is because my wife read stories to her every night reads to her every night. We're doing the same with the little one. So we read stories with her. Then around 8 o'clock, we go in there.
Starting point is 00:44:37 Someone puts her to sleep. She's out by like 815, 8.20. And then the older one likes us to someone just to walk her in, give her a kiss good night. So you're looking at like 830, 8.45. if everything goes well. And then you get settled, you sit down around 9 o'clock, the day starts all over again around, you know, six in the morning. So you got around 9 to like 10.30, 1040, maybe,
Starting point is 00:45:01 depending on when I get started. So we don't start it directly at that time. And if it's a long day, a lot of shit going on, we look at each other and I'll finish it tomorrow. So you don't ever, they'll push it to 11, midnight? Sometimes it depends. If we're really, like, during Ozark, yes, we push it to 11. Like Ozark, we're both on board.
Starting point is 00:45:16 It was like, we're bing and we're going through. we're like, all right, we're both exhausted. Who cares? Keep going. Yeah. Like, there's certain shows or movies that will push it, but like, like, but it was funny as we were, I had to watch Jurassic World, uh, Fallen Kingdom. And she had never seen that one. So she's like, I'll watch it with you, no problem.
Starting point is 00:45:34 And we start watching it. And she went to bed a half an hour into it. She went to bed thinking it was a good movie. Because it gets significantly worse after that 30 minutes. It does. It's a big dip. Big fall off in that. So she's like, oh, I wish I could finish this.
Starting point is 00:45:50 I'm like, no, you got a good view of this thing. You, like, go to bed thinking that that's what that movie was because it gets really bad. I was talking about this yesterday, actually, when he was hanging my disco ball. But one of the, like, pros and cons of being completely single with no kids is that I am just accountable to nobody. So, like, I will stay up all fucking night just watching. But, like, that's why, I mean, I've watched. watched 55 shows this year. Holy shit. A lot of shows.
Starting point is 00:46:21 Yeah, it is. But that's why I end up, like, doing big waste of time. I'm watching The Circle right now. Do you even know what that show is? Yeah. I remember the movie. Okay, there's a TV show called The Circle. Essentially, everybody's in their own apartments, or not their own apartments, but they're in apartments. And they're talking to people, like, basically it's like AIM style. You know what this is? Yeah, it's great. It's on Netflix. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:40 Long story short, it's in this four season, Christian. Oh. And the Spice Girls are on this season. I can't even fucking believe what a bizarre customers is. speaking German to me right now. How do you people keep up with all this shit? I've known. I've only seen the first season, and this was a, this was, I mean, it was mid-pandemic, I think.
Starting point is 00:46:57 Yeah, we're on season four. That's why I ask you, like, what I should be watching. Yeah, so I'm never going to recommend that. I'm not going to come in and be like, you've got to watch the circle. Right. But, like, no, everyone says severance. And I still haven't watched the session, by the way. I think you would, I think you would like the circle.
Starting point is 00:47:11 I saw the first, I could pick any movie or show, and I could say the same thing. started it was really on board with it wife's like i can't bore with it oh that's a must watch and it's i know and i'm like i'm telling you like it's and people people go what do you watch it yourself because i want to spend time with my wife that's that that that's the thing why do you want to spend time with your wife right yeah what's wrong with you that's the fact like i can go like other things that i can watch you know what what i didn't do it's very proud of myself is i you should not you don't lie to significant others and i was going and i knew that you know because it was during the screening it was for the second movie for top gun.
Starting point is 00:47:50 I was like, what movie are we turning on? For the second screening, because I already told her I went to see it like a couple weeks ago. And then she was actually, what movie are you going to see, right? And I'm like, Top Gun again. Yeah, yeah. And she's like, why do you have to go see that?
Starting point is 00:48:02 I'm like, because I'm doing a spoiler review. Yeah. Like, I need to get more interest. She's like, you want to see it in the theater again? And I'm like, yeah. I'm glad that you didn't, though, because like those are the kind of things that even if she's a little peeved, even if she's like, oh my God,
Starting point is 00:48:16 he has to leave to go see it again. Totally the truth. I'd rather her be a little peeve than you say that you're going to go see and then make up like some fucking. I could have said that I was going to see another movie that I wasn't going to see. I hate that shit though. For what? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:27 Yeah. It's like I'd rather just, you know, say, listen, I'm going to, I'm going to see this movie. And she's allowed to feel peeved. 100%. So why are you going again? And it was because, and it was the middle of a, it was a work week anyway. So it's, and the fact that I think though, and this is, this is true, I don't know if I
Starting point is 00:48:45 would have seen it, even though as much as I wanted to. If it was nighttime screening? If it was 7 o'clock at night, I don't know if I would have went. Also, it was very conveniently located for where you and I was. Yes. And I think that the difference is because 1 o'clock I'm not around anyway. Seven, like, we have a great relationship where like she understands, like, because I help out at night afterwards when I come in from working all day.
Starting point is 00:49:06 And if I have a screening, then I go to the screening. And it's what it's, but if I'm going, if I could be around helping, you know, because married people will understand this. And with kids. Well, you're really rubbing it in today, aren't you? You know, listen, you got time. You got time. I wasn't, I wouldn't have kids if I was your age.
Starting point is 00:49:24 But you did have a wife? I don't think so. Did I? Really? I think so. I did. Maybe, maybe around that time. Would you say I did?
Starting point is 00:49:33 You did. Yeah, you did. For sure. You got married. Well, it's good. I just derailed another show because I'm single. Continue. No, what's going on with that?
Starting point is 00:49:40 Well, let's shift. Got any, uh, who's the new? What's the two? Anybody knew? No, I don't. I know the last guy's in the can. Yeah, canned him, can't him. Dirtbag?
Starting point is 00:49:49 And it's not good to can somebody. Was he a dirtbag? What's the story? No, I didn't tell you what my final straw was. No, I don't think so. Okay, so, see, it was seeing this guy. He's, he was cool. I like him.
Starting point is 00:50:02 Okay. And not a dirt bag. Not a dirt bag. Uh-oh. No, no, definitely not a dirt bag, especially compared to some of the other guys. I'm sure. Right. But he just, I think right now he's really on his way up.
Starting point is 00:50:13 He's about to, like, blow up. Yeah. He's doing very well for himself. And I think that's not a good time to start dating somebody. Probably not. I've known him for years. Okay. And he had just asked me out.
Starting point is 00:50:24 It's not like all of a sudden I was like, oh, he's blown up. I'm going to pursue him. He asked me out. So we went out for two months. And then on our second date, he told me, this is real. He told me that his mom died of cancer when he was 18, when he was 18 years old. And my mom died right after that. So I felt like very connected to him.
Starting point is 00:50:44 And then every. Every date, like we're talking about like 10 dates. It came up all the time, of course. Like, you know, my mom's on my fridge or like we would talk about it. Like just how it affected you or whatever. And then we were on our final date and we were out to dinner. And he was being kind of fucking weird that night anyway. Like I got there before him and I sat down.
Starting point is 00:51:01 And when I got there, he was like, why is this the table you picked? I don't like this table. It's like, what the fuck? But okay, so we move. Just like kind of. And then we were talking and I was just talking about my, I said something about my grandparents. And I was like, it sucks at my uncle, my mom's brother. others aren't here to help.
Starting point is 00:51:16 They're not out here to help or whatever. And he said, well, what about your mom? And I said, what about my mom? He said, why can't she help? And I was like, what? Because she's dead, bro. Like, just like your mom. And he was like, oh, I forgot.
Starting point is 00:51:30 And I was like, you forgot? He goes, I told you I have a bad memory. And I was like. Yeah, that's not like forgetting being about her. So I go, I didn't ask you what you had for lunch. Yeah. Like, and he was like, I've said to you, I have a bad memory, Roxy. And I was like, you're, you memorized.
Starting point is 00:51:45 every day, bro. Yeah. Like, I'm not going to accept that as an answer. And then, like, when we were driving back to my place that night, he was like, do you want to come inside? I was like, no. And I could just feel in me. I was like, I called my sister when I got home and she was like, I said it to her.
Starting point is 00:51:59 And she was just like, that's a tough one rocks. And I just thought to myself, I'm like, you know, my person doesn't forget my mom's dead. Like, that's just a, it's too. Yeah, that's the real straw was when she was like, what? What? What? Did you forget 9-11? He's like, 9-1?
Starting point is 00:52:13 Nine what? Right. Dude, the phone call? It wasn't the only... I got a bad memory. I have a bad memory. How are you going to expect me to remember that? Yeah, it was the way he responded.
Starting point is 00:52:22 It wasn't just that he forgot. I was like, holy shit. I'm so fucking sorry. My mind somewhere else. It was the way that he was like... Clinton giving his speech leader? He's a president. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:28 Yeah. Getting defensive about... That would be for me like just, oh my God. Oh my God. I'm so fucking so bad. Right. Yeah. That should be the response.
Starting point is 00:52:37 My mind was on other things. That's even if you did legit forget. Yeah. Holy shit. I can't fucking believe. He was like, oh, I forgot. You're an actor, homie. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:46 It's like, dude, at that point, it's, but you said it, though, with the table thing, he was looking for a fight. Yeah, I could just tell. I could tell. And that's what I was like, I think both of him and I, like. Yeah, so, you know, look. So definitely not a dirt bag. It's not like he did anything awful to me, but I was like.
Starting point is 00:53:01 He handled his out poorly. Poorly. Yeah, for sure. For sure. So no one's on the horizon right now? No, I'm on one app right now. And I've still never gone on a date from it because I'm scared shitless of these apps. You guys never had to do the app thing, right?
Starting point is 00:53:16 So I'm on one app. Right past the apps. And it's like like a fucking whole like I feel safer about it because like you have to apply and get approved and all this shit. But it still fucking freaks me out. And so I haven't gone on any dates from it, but do like try to talk to people because maybe one day I'll meet somebody there. It just doesn't feel like me. You know what it is that strange app stuff? You just hear so many people who have actually met and got married.
Starting point is 00:53:37 My brother and his wife. That's what I mean. It's like it's foreign to me. Me too. Like it's foreign. Well yeah, but you, you, but you, but you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, You came up in it. You know, like it's been around since you've been.
Starting point is 00:53:46 Not really, though, because I was my ex and I were together six years. So it's like I didn't ever, I was never on anything. This is my first time. Six years? Yeah. Yeah, I know. Anyway. I know.
Starting point is 00:53:58 I know. I know. I know. I'll tell me what fucking shows, will you. Yeah. I think you'd like the circle, I will say. I will. I think it takes funny.
Starting point is 00:54:06 I did watch that Will Arnette show that you told me about. That Will Arnette show I did watch. Oh, yeah. The Will, oh, get. The improv. one. Oh, yeah. The cop. Yeah, the cop and the, it's like a cop and a nun and no, no, no, no. This is real. This is real. This is a, this is a hundred. Oh, I thought. No, this is 100% real. Didn't you tell me about the, the Will Arnette one? Oh, I know what you're talking about. I've seen this. I've seen this on TikTok,
Starting point is 00:54:30 actually, where he's like pretending to be somebody else behind a glass or whatever. Did you not see this? No, no. No, I thought you told me about it. No, I thought you told me about it. And I started watching it because they told me about it. So the nun was in your first? I don't know. I thought you. I don't know. I was in your favorite character that? No, who was it though? Maybe it was it Griffin? I can't remember. It's good?
Starting point is 00:54:48 Yeah, it's very funny. You, you, it's, I could have sworn you told me. It's right up your alley. I have a machine that's going to make me Google it. So it, so basically Brett, what he does is he's given this, there's a celebrity that comes in. And he's given the celebrity, he's a character in the whole, and the whole time, they're putting these scenarios and the person comes in and they're improvving. Murderville, yeah, Murderville.
Starting point is 00:55:12 And, uh, and Coimbing. O'Brien is the first one. And so he's this like, this typical like 70s, 80s, like, detective. And they've got to call on these adventures. It's, I mean, you would be in this show. People love, people who are non-stop?
Starting point is 00:55:28 Oh, yeah, yeah. You're talking about murder. Murder. Who the hell told me about it? I can't remember, but I thought it was you. But you would, yeah, the fact that you're not watching the show, it's right up your alley. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:36 All right. So tell me, tell me. Well, friend of the show, Sam Levine, is in the show called Minks, which is fucking awesome, actually. It's about the first female erotica magazine. I guess it was called Minks, which I've never heard of that. It's from the 70s. Do you guys know what Minks is?
Starting point is 00:55:51 A little hound dog getting into it, huh? Sam Levine? Yeah, totally. How'd you know? It's really good. Are you saying female erotic, and it was made for females? Yeah, so it's like female erotica magazine.
Starting point is 00:56:04 It was called Minks, and it's made the president of it or the head of it was a woman, and it's like naked men and like... Who plays the president? No, not the president. like of the oh you mean of the united states what what's her name it's uh ophelia loveabon have you ever seen this girl i didn't know her either she she looks like uh this she's pretty she looks like this yes um oh wow yeah she's pretty yeah she's cute but it's a really really fucking good the main the her counterpart
Starting point is 00:56:34 who you would know is from new girl okay can we get the woman that's in morbius can we get her in more she needs to be more stuff the morbius woman she was fucking good she's in and or i know she's in were. Yeah. But the show's really good, actually. And Sam Levine's in two episodes. It's, I think, like, 10 episodes long. And it was on HBO Max.
Starting point is 00:56:52 Okay. Speaking of HPMex, we own the night. Is that what it's called? Now, we own the night. What's it called? No, we own the city. Is that what it's called? We've gone to go with, with, with Barrenthall.
Starting point is 00:57:00 Yeah, I know. Is it any good? I haven't watched it yet. No, I haven't seen it yet. But I've heard decent things. Jesus, Rock, talk about things you think. I'll tell you guys what I'm watching right now. You tell me what you're interested in.
Starting point is 00:57:12 It keeps interrupting you. Come on, Rocks, why don't you talk about things you see? That's what you're getting in for. They're trying to match you 27 times. You have a talk about one show. The hell's wrong. He's only derailed every single show you're trying to talk about. Come on.
Starting point is 00:57:32 Come on. How are you doing? What are you guys in? Come on, what are you? Let's be professional. Please, please. place. I've watched a lot.
Starting point is 00:57:45 No, what are you guys interested in? A 12 inch penis? Honestly, some of the penises and minx are fucking massive. Massive penis. The first of the show is like, cock,
Starting point is 00:57:56 cock, cock, cock, cock, and you're like, whoa. I haven't seen a show like that in a minute. And I was like, what is this? Penish show. Yeah, there's a lot of dicks on the show. And like, they're auditioning their penises in the first episode.
Starting point is 00:58:07 So they're coming in and like, literally. And it's like, whoa. A lot of dicks. Make a baby with your penis. It's really good, though. One of my favorite ones I'm watching right now, though, is the girl from Plainville. Have you guys even heard of this?
Starting point is 00:58:21 No. This is the girl from Massachusetts, so I knew this story, but I don't know if you guys ever knew this story, where she texted, she texted her boyfriend, this real story, this real story, to kill himself. And he did. And then she went on trial for it. I know that. I know that story. Okay. Yeah, I remember the story.
Starting point is 00:58:36 Yeah. So this is like how a very popular true crime right now with like, we crash and. And, um, inventing an... What's this on? What channels are on? Uh, Hulu. I'm pretty sure. Girl from Plantville.
Starting point is 00:58:46 And it is, um, the, uh, Dakota, John, L Fanning. El Fanning. Wow. I just went from Dakota Johnson to Dakota. I know where you're going there. You got there? You got there? Uh, she's fucking so good in this.
Starting point is 00:58:59 Wow. And it is, it's scary to watch because I get, I, like, you kind of are seeing what happens. And this girl, all the teenagers are so fucked up and they're all so medicated on like all different things. And she really does. She convinces him via text message and phone call to kill himself. And then he's in a car and he says, I'm scared. I don't want to kill myself.
Starting point is 00:59:21 And he gets out of the car and he calls her. And she says, get back in the fucking car. Wow. And he does and he dies. And then she's the first one because assisted suicide in Massachusetts is not illegal. And so she's the first one on trial, like to break precedent that this isn't assisted suicide. This is manslaughter. Wow.
Starting point is 00:59:39 And they fucking show. That's what I mean, though. So, like, there are, I'm sure it's great. You never even heard of it. But, you know, but I heard that. I've heard of the, the actual thing. But I also, I don't want to watch that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:49 You know what I mean? I just don't want to watch that. Oh, no, it's not fun. Yeah, yeah. No, that's what I mean. I'm sure it's great. I'm sure she's great. But like, I don't, the world sucks.
Starting point is 00:59:57 I don't want to watch that shit. Like, and it's not to say that there's not more stuff. Like, like, I do, like, the we work stuff. And that, I like that. I like that kind of true crime where nobody dies. Yeah, yeah. I mean, I don't, especially when it comes to, like, kids and teenagers and shit, too, I don't, I don't want to deal with that shit.
Starting point is 01:00:14 Yeah, I don't want to talk about it. But, but, but, but, but, but again, nothing. It's a good wreck, though, you think, right, right? Yeah, no, again, nothing. I would say for people that are into murder shows, that sounds like an interesting. It sounds like, yeah, if you're for sure, and I bet you she is really good in it, but, but I just, I love her. I mean, she's really good. She's really good.
Starting point is 01:00:30 Yeah. That show's fucking sick. Phenomenal. That show is sick. Yeah. She's really, really good. It's another one. Like, is again, just...
Starting point is 01:00:38 Yeah, but that's why I have recommendation lists for people who are willing to watch 20 shows versus people who are like, I can watch one show right now. What is it? And unfortunately for you guys, that one show is severance. Like, if you get one wreck, it's severance. That's the one. That's the one. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:53 So you got to. You have no excuse, though, because your kids are old enough for you that you don't have to put anybody to sleep. Oh, yeah. You can watch it with your wife. You've got enough time. The kids are either... You can get them to bed and you're good to go.
Starting point is 01:01:05 Can't they watch with you, guys? Um, they don't want to. Oh. That's cool. They don't want to watch any. Yeah, that's what it means. It's so, it blows my mind. I've got, he gave me like a 50 inch plasma that didn't fit in our living room, stuck it in my kids' room, and he occasionally plays video games on it.
Starting point is 01:01:23 Never watches movies. Never watches shows. Everything is here or a computer. It's YouTube videos. It's things like, like, like, they, I don't know what it is. They watched movies when they were little. I don't know what happened. They just don't like movies or television.
Starting point is 01:01:38 I don't like to do it on my... I like to be able to use my phone while I'm watching things. I would think that that Jen would like that. No, it's not dual screen. It's just little screen. It's... Yeah, I don't know if it's just my kids. Generation.
Starting point is 01:01:49 Generation. What are they the... That gen. Gen Z. Yeah, but I... No. I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:01:57 I don't know what your fucking kid's generation is. I don't know. How do you know? I don't even know what a kid is. Who knows? Who knows? I don't know. Come on.
Starting point is 01:02:06 Okay, listen, this is the big thing. We had a good show here today. I liked it. I liked it, too. Yeah, I liked it too. We'll have, like I said, there's going to be some more news coming. Just give us some time that we can let you know some good news. Good news.
