I came to the Inner Geekdom show late with a few stream labs that didn't get read. Alex, if you see them, please skip.
Starting point is 00:05:49 them because they are filled with spoilers or right carry on good call thank you very much for thank you thank you um and of course later on tonight at 5 p m pt is the showdown of showdowns we're kicking off season eight war here in the movie trivia schmodeown two fantastic matches i know there's one undercard and one headliner but to me these are both uh must see matches these are both arguably headline matches you got molly damon the dark ray taken on Laura Kelly there for the number one contender shot for the Star Wars belt. And then right after that, you're going to get the return. Speaking of returning players to the Schmodan, Mara Kahnopic, the much-awaited years-long wait for her return in the Schmodan. She is back right off the bat
Starting point is 00:06:37 with a title shot against the floss dancer himself, Chandrew. This is going to be a hell of a thing. You don't want to miss it. And God knows what storylines and people are going to pop up what's going to get promoted you don't want to miss it for sure um i think that's all the plugging for that right is that correct yeah that's all that's what we got going on for today yeah and don't forget the fintstock exchange will be playing soon so will the dan and everybody else involved in this damn thing let's do it um all right uh Alex uh what do we got first my man let's get into the main topic what did you guys think of wandavision episode seven non-spoiler thoughts let's let's talk about this and if you do any spoilers in the chat i got my band hammer ready to go he's raised
Starting point is 00:07:18 Bang. Yeah, I did not see Superman showing up in this one. What a surprise. Wow. Crazy, right? Crazy right. And that Superman, too. I didn't know that they were going to do go with that.
Starting point is 00:07:28 Now I know why that big debate of Legalis, uh, Hawkeye, Green Arrow and Katness were going on. They all, they all were there. Yeah. They all were there. It was crazy. It was nuts. Nuts. Sorry, Alex, don't ban me.
Starting point is 00:07:41 Yeah, please. Don't use the hammer on the Ben Goddard. Let's look at real quick. All I'll say is this. Fantastic. Really enjoyed the episode. Love the vibes. The modern family vibes.
Starting point is 00:07:52 Loved what they presented. Love the changes in a couple of the characters. And then that huge reveal at the end, which my brother Michael Vogel owes me a massive apology for when we do our geek buddies reviews was fantastic and done so well. And I hope you all stayed tuned for the post-credit scene as well. So let's get your thoughts, Steph. What did you think overall of this episode, episode seven?
Starting point is 00:08:16 It was such a rewarding episode. Like the show is taking me exactly where I want to go. And every week, there's a little bit of a different dimension that's added to it. But this was the week and all week I've kind of been like clocking this. But this week I was like, damn, these women on this show like Elizabeth Olson, Kat, Denning Catherine Haun, and Tiana Paris, especially in this episode, I was so thrilled to be watching them. They brought so much life to the show and to their performances and to their character. that it just makes me so happy to be able to see that many women
Starting point is 00:08:50 and that diversified of a panel killing a Marvel show. Yeah, and I hope this is working, Ben. I don't know about you, but I didn't even notice that it was all kind of ladies leading the forefront because I was just enjoying their performances. Yeah. Enjoying their chemistry, but also working on another level for women to see these women kind of stepping forward
Starting point is 00:09:08 and taking the reins. It's great to see. What you think of this episode? I liked it, and it's one of those things where people, you know like oh is is who's the aerospace engineer she's going to meet up with who's this who's that like you know i think a lot of problems that people have with this episode is that their expectations or fan theories didn't match up with what happened in the episode and i think uh we all and myself included um need to like stop projecting because that that happens like so many times like
Starting point is 00:09:39 it happened with star wars it's happened with mc u movies it's happened you know it's happening with this. It's like it's so great to theorize because there's so many twists and turns and ways that thing could go. But if it doesn't happen in the episode, don't call it a bad episode. I was surprised that it wasn't an hour long because I thought that was going to be the last three, but that that was okay. No, but like the ladies leading this episode, there's so much to it. Yeah. There's so much happening. And even if like I wanted a little bit more between Vision and Darcy. Like, you know, I don't know if we can spoil the last week's episode, but, um, but I just, I wanted a little bit more with them. And, but no, I like where we're,
Starting point is 00:10:25 we're getting. I like where we're leading to and anyone, like I, I'm so tired of the articles of like, reveal your big bad. What do you do? It's like, can you all just let a TV show be a TV show? Like, have you guys ever watched television before? I'm curious. I Have you, have you? Yeah. Everyone's bullies. That's the thing. Everyone's like, I want it.
Starting point is 00:10:48 It's my money and I want it now. It's some sort of commercial. Jay G. Wentworth is the big bad. Period. Yeah. It's matched by so many people saying, I called it. I knew it the whole time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:03 I know it the whole. I will say, I will say there was a lot, me and Alex go on stereo. Did you whisper once? And there was, yeah, my whisper, and there was a lot of people like, I called it. I called it. Like, no, you didn't. You all said last week that this is not what's happening.
Starting point is 00:11:18 So I don't want this revisionist history. Yeah. But, uh, but no, I enjoyed the episode. And Catherine Hahn, the I bit a kid was one. It was the perfect office modern family cutaway timing. And Catherine Hahn is a GD treasure. Yeah. She is so funny.
Starting point is 00:11:35 She is exactly what this show needs. And like that just, it goes back to Marvel's casting office where they find people you don't think belong in a comic book universe. And they put them in there and they're so perfect. How about one divisionist instead of revisionist? I like that. Oh, my gosh. Alex, what did you think about this episode?
Starting point is 00:11:52 Do you share the love everyone has for Catherine On as well? Yes. Oh, yeah. Catherine Hahn and Paul Bettany are my MVP's in this show. Oh, yeah, Bettening. They're doing super great. This kind of felt like a like the act one of act three to me. Like we're all just, we're going to get freaking crazy in the next two.
Starting point is 00:12:13 episode. So we're just taking a little, a mini break before things get crazy. So I, I liked it overall. Just wasn't one of my favorites, but, you know, it's every single episode is great in its own way. Yeah. Yeah. And Ben, you bring up an excellent point. One of the things that I think a lot of fandom and the people who speculate and do these videos and talk about this stuff have to understand. And take a little bit of joy in is it's okay that your, your predictions didn't work out. It's okay that it's all in flames because that's the fun of, it's there's, there used to be a joy. in guessing and predicting and if it didn't work out you enjoyed what you got anyway if it worked now there's almost like you said almost feels like people get personally invested in their predictions
Starting point is 00:12:53 not coming true which affects their overall interpretation or judgment of the show and i think that's got to go away man prediction is predicting is supposed to be fun that's what you do in the playground or at the lunchroom hanging out thinking oh it might be this or it might be that and we got something completely different and it was great to see so i hope like if you could there's a there's a When I when I like in 2017 of like my prediction of what infinity war was going to be. I don't know if it's still there, but. Find it. It was wrong.
Starting point is 00:13:23 It was so wrong. I remember like I had the full like it was like this 15 thread. Like oh, this is what's going to happen. This is what and then just like, nope. Just I was completely wrong with everything. And so it's okay. Yeah. And that's okay.
Starting point is 00:13:41 Also we're just getting started with this. phase four like they are planting the seeds we have to buckle in be patient and wait for the ride like it's moving us forward but this is an entire new story they're going to tell across years so i think it's a slow burn but i think it will all make sense yeah and i think Alex is absolutely on point here this does feel like an act one of an act three kind of like those last four episodes of clone war season seven right that's all into itself everything we got led us to those four episodes in clone wars but and everything we've gotten so far wanda vision i think is going to lead us into these last three episodes laying the foundation so that we can enjoy the ride and see where it ends up
Starting point is 00:14:23 dwayne what do you think overall do you like this thing are you watching it uh i am watching it uh because of the show that i'm on prior to this one fair boy um but i i think that the show has done just a wonderful job of like winking at the audience specifically the song at the end it plays right in into everyone in their speculations and the theories. And then the song is a perfect like, ha ha ha. Yeah, it's a great poke. It's a great,
Starting point is 00:14:55 they've winked and poked at the audience at the same time and done it definitely, not overtly, just every once in a while. I think that's been the brilliant thing of the show as well. So yeah, overall fantastic. Did I think it was the strongest episode of the season? No, but I thought it was damn good.
Starting point is 00:15:11 And they really captured that modern family. family vibe so well. Elizabeth Olson, she is the anchor of this thing. And it's sometimes not easy to be the anchor when everyone else is flying off doing the stuff that they're doing. But she's done great work throughout this whole series. And I look forward to seeing her kind of now, hopefully maybe come to the middle of this thing, come to the forefront of this thing and have more emotional beats to play in the last two episodes or possibly a phantom last three episodes. The rumors about a 10th episode hiding somewhere. So we shall see. All right. What did you think of the, where does this rank in terms of your ads in terms of the ads? Like was this your favorite, middle, middle, middle of the pack, bottom. Got to say, this might be my favorite, to be honest with you, because of what they're parodying. And we've seen so many of those ads of the last 20 years. I thought it was brilliant.
Starting point is 00:16:05 And the dialogue in the ad was just on point. What do you think, Steph? I agree. This ad, I had to run it back because I was like, this is a real ad? I like thought it was a commercial that popped up into Disney Plus. I was like, they said they weren't doing that. But then I was like, damn, this is so good because you grow up hearing this type of ad. And then the way that they mixed it in with the plot so perfectly was really well done. I also think this episode had the best ending in terms of a
Starting point is 00:16:33 cliffhanger to get you excited moving forward. I think it had the biggest bang. Yeah, so first post credit scene we've had, right, Ben, in any of the episode. Yeah. And I had to go back and watch it because I'm so used to, you know, the, the 12 minutes of credits. And so like, uh, like, we started our show and I was like, I was like, oh, wait, wait, I need to go watch the post credit scene. And it's worth it to watch it because there's a character in there. Um, but yeah, with the ad, like, because I know there's that theory going around about what the ads represent. Yeah. I want to go back and I, like, someone needs to make like a montage on YouTube. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:09 Oh, yeah. But no, I really like this one, especially with what the product was called, because what the product is called, like has big Easter eggs in it. So there's there's so much. And I'm so surprised that this was not supposed to be our first MCU series. Yeah. And I now it's like I can't see how it wasn't because it's just like opening every door in every direction. So I think it's going to be amazing. Yeah. I agree with you. It does kind of. It kind of is a happy, not, I wouldn't even say a happy accident, but it's kind of worked out in a certain way to kind of launch us in a unique and interesting way that I don't think Black Widow would have been able to. And now I wonder how that's going to slide in with what they've created here out of Wanda Vision. I look forward to it, but I just want to out. Yeah, it's like, because we were supposed to get two very grounded things in Black Widow and. Ryan Payne donated $20. Yep.
Starting point is 00:18:05 Yo, Steph is hosting for a third time. Let's go. Wait. What? Roker's hosting? Yeah right. And Dan Murrell lost to Andrew Guy. Wait. What? T.O. What the fuck is happening? J.K. Roker, I'm just trying to get the Outlaw back. He's needed. Pornhub premium donated $20. What? Hi, this message is to inform John Roker that he hasn't accepted slash redeemed his one year free trial to our library of exclusive comments. content. If the trial is not accepted by next week, it will be sent to Dwayne Burke unless he rejects it. Oh, that's funny.
Starting point is 00:18:47 What is the, what was the first part of that? I didn't hear it. Was the first part of it, Duane? Uh, hold on. That was from Pornhub Premium. Oh, right. Yes, yes. Never pay for premium. Never pay for premium porn, ladies and gentlemen. It's a waste of time. I do wonder what you get with Pornhub Premium? A full movie, I guess. I don't know. Who has time for a full movie? I think it's just an ad preamium. experience yeah five minutes that's all i need i'm good to go uh anyway oh it's honesty hour this friday good morning let's tell the truth here come on i got i don't have time for all that do for play and shit it's i'm old uh listen uh where we are right now bring back for play
Starting point is 00:19:31 oh yeah for you for you young ins absolutely absolutely absolutely oh by the way i love what you tweeted step about being single on Valentine's Day. Oh, that was hilarious. Oh, my God. All right. Where are we out right now? Are we good? I think we've talked to right.
Starting point is 00:19:46 Any final words on this or Alex on the ad? What do you guys want to say about it? Anything? I love the ad. I think I still like last week's Yo Magic ad better. Oh, yeah. That's a good thing. I think that's my favorite of all.
Starting point is 00:19:58 Okay. But this is pretty up there. This is up there for me. All right. Dwayne, what did you think? I think the Yo Magic one is the most fun. but this one was almost too real.
Starting point is 00:20:08 Yeah. I was like, this, this is for me. Yeah, I was like, can I get one of those? Can I,
Starting point is 00:20:14 can I have one of those? Throughout the episode, there was moments, like, especially with Wanda, where like she got red for filth, but I felt like I was getting red for filth. Like someone was asking me a rhetorical question.
Starting point is 00:20:25 I was like, I love it. I love it. No spoilers, but you're not supposed to talk, are you? All right. Let's move on to,
Starting point is 00:20:34 let's, and if you guys, If we clip this out, thank you so much for watching this video. Please remember to subscribe to the Schmoda Entertainment Network down below. Hit a like button, leave a comment. Those are all important things to do here on the S-E-N network. And go and enjoy all the content we got here on the channel. All right, Alex, what have we got first up?
Starting point is 00:20:52 And please, ladies gentlemen, please remember keep sending in your stream lab, super chats and Schmobots. You know those are things that power the show. We've got to get to 500 every day. It really helps us in a good way. And then if someone wants to suggest what we can get at 7,000, A fun little goal for us to get to at 750, and maybe even a thousand. That could be a lot of fun.
Starting point is 00:21:10 So send in your stream live, super chats, and schmobot so they can be read here on the show. All right, Alex. All right. So Daisy Ridley has set up her next project starring in an adaptation of the novel, The Marsh King's daughter to be directed by Neil Berger. The story follows Ridley's ordinary character facing her demons when her father, known as the Marsh King, who had held her and her mother captive in the wilderness for years, escapes from prison. Roka, are you excited for a new Daisy Ridley project? Yes, anything Daisy Ridley is in I'm excited for. She's such a damn good actress.
Starting point is 00:21:43 And I know now everyone walks out of that sequel trilogy of how much they love Adam Driver, but I think Daisy Ridley deserves your praise and your credit as well. She was stellar, did what she could with that dialogue, did what she could with those character arcs, and I thought she was incredible throughout all three of those films. And where the reasons I kept coming back to watch them was for her and her journey. So to see her moving on to other things, it's great to see.
Starting point is 00:22:06 She seems like this woman who's got a very strong command of herself, but a very effervescent energy as well. So I'm looking forward to this because this looks kind of darker. And I love this as a new challenge for Daisy Ridley. I haven't seen chaos walking, but certainly that looked like a little bit of a darker theme film as well. So I love that she's exploring these more grittier roles and smaller films and seeing what she can bring to it.
Starting point is 00:22:30 So I'm excited for it. What about you, Steph? I'm so excited. I'm such a massive Daisy Ridley fan. I agree. There's all this talk about Adam Driver, who's one of the best working, but she is the one who made the Force Awakened again. Like, she brought that movie to life. And it's her Oscar Isaac and John Boyega as well.
Starting point is 00:22:50 Like, those are some of the best actors right now. And I'm so excited to see Daisy Ridley in a different role because I know it is hard to break out of that Star Wars mold because it gives you all the clout. but then a lot of people hold you to that realm. And so it will be good to see her in a completely different type of film. Absolutely. Ben, do you like the plot, the log line here? Do you think she's got the goods to kind of carry through a movie like this?
Starting point is 00:23:16 I think she's got the goods for sure. I don't know much about the source material or anything like that. But I wish she'd had a bigger part in Murder on the Orient Express, but I'm excited to see her chaos walking. I don't know. like I just like Daisy Ridley. I think she I think she's got it. And I mean, like if you, it's one thing, you know,
Starting point is 00:23:36 with Harrison Ford and them like that because they didn't know what they were making. They like, they made a movie and they're like, oh, this is my big chance. And they didn't know what it was gonna turn into. No one did. It's a lot different to come into Force Awakens and shoulder that burden for three movies.
Starting point is 00:23:52 And whether you like them or not, like the acting was so top notch across the board with everyone. So I'm looking forward to seeing what all of them do like all the like all the big four of that movie like I mean the only one missing right now is Finn like he's the only that that hasn't gotten the opportunity and it's a real shame because they're all so great and they need they need it like Hollywood needs it too John Boy Agas did small acts so he got nominated for that but I he still I agreed needs way more attention because he is phenomenal like attack the block is still on him
Starting point is 00:24:30 my favorite like type of alien movies. But yeah, so he's nominated for a Golden Globe, I believe for small acts, which is good. He deserved that. Wow, thoroughly, thoroughly agree with that. Yeah, Joanne, what's your feeling on Daisy really stepping into this situation? And do you like her kind of taking on a grittier thing
Starting point is 00:24:47 where she's exploring the fact that her and her mom, I think were essentially kept prisoner by this, by her dad. And then her dad breaks out of prison and she's got a, track him down. Do you think is really this is a great choice for her? I'm always worried when we get like the lesser known
Starting point is 00:25:08 actors come into a franchise like this, that they're going to be stuck in that for the rest of their career. So I'm excited to see that she's going to take on something else that's completely different in a completely different vein, hopefully can separate herself from all of the negativity of Star Wars and just like ride on the podcast
Starting point is 00:25:30 and then help have this build even more positivity to her career. But I'm excited to see her in anything. It doesn't really matter what it is. If she's in it, I'll watch it and hopefully root for it to be good. Do you think she's doing this for a little bit, Ben, like until maybe another franchise comes along? I could see her in the MCU. I could absolutely see her down the road in the MCU, maybe having a little bit of a better experience that she had in the Star Wars situation. Is this a way of like what Kristen Stewart did, right?
Starting point is 00:26:02 She got out of Twilight and then she focused on these kind of smaller, more independent films and challenged yours or actress, showed her range. Remember, Daisy's like what? In her late 20s, early 30s? She's still young, man. So like, do you think this is maybe her just kind of stretching out her wings a little bit, getting back to what made her fall in love with acting and taking advantage of opportunities and then eventually finding her way maybe back to the MCU or DC?
Starting point is 00:26:24 I think it could be. I don't know what, because I know Christian Stewart, Robert Patton, and Taylor made stupid money off Twilight. Like they didn't like that and that was, you know, when Robert came back for Batman, I was like, okay, it must be good because he doesn't need the money to be in another blockbuster. He can do a 24 films for the rest of his life
Starting point is 00:26:45 and you know, still live like a king. Yeah. I don't know if they made that kind of money for Star Wars. I honestly have no idea. But I don't know if she's gonna, I don't know if any of them wanna do blockbuster or like franchises anymore. more because of the stuff of the, their reception.
Starting point is 00:27:04 Like I couldn't blame them for, you know, like keeping it low, like doing Amazon, you know, movies and series and smaller movies, like murder on the Orient Express and stuff like that. Oscar Isaac, I think, you know, his big project is Dune. And you know, whenever that comes out. Yeah, yeah. But that's like, it's different than Star Wars, you know, that's like like kind of a prestige, you know, like sequel.
Starting point is 00:27:25 But he'll be snake, right? That's right. Yeah, and he'll be Moon Night. So no night. Yeah. So Oscar Isaac is, he don't give a shit. Yeah. Oscar Isaac didn't look back.
Starting point is 00:27:36 He said, I'm running well. Yeah. But I think Daisy Ridley could have like an MCU crossover because she had, uh, if I watched some of her interviews in preparation for the film, she had so much physical training involved in these movies and the character of Ray. So she does have that advantage as well. She's not just a phenomenal like face actor. She can put in the physicality.
Starting point is 00:27:59 Yeah, yeah, I agree with you a thousand percent, Steph. Alex, what do you think about Daisy Ridley jumping into this role and possibly grabbing something else down the road in a bigger franchise? I mean, she's, she showed her dramatic chops in the Star Wars movies. She, I'm looking at her filmography. It's not that diverse. Yeah, she's taking her time. Yeah, definitely. And so I think this will be a good entry in her in her IMDB.
Starting point is 00:28:25 Yeah, it looks like Ophelia is really the only, like, drama she's been in. And so, like, I hope she does well in, you know, diversifying that in her performances. Yeah. We'll see. I mean, I look forward to it. And, you know, she's great overall. That's for sure. All right.
Starting point is 00:28:43 But Alex, you know what else is great? I think I can do that. Is that right? Is that how I do it? Yeah, I have to watch the master sometimes do it. Brett, Brett Sheridan. What else is great is? Matt Mulville.

Starting point is 00:30:46 Well, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. It's almost like I can do voiceovers. All right. Let's see the next thing. What do we got, Alex? All right.
Starting point is 00:30:54 The next thing is that Donald Glover signed a multiple year, eight-figure overall deal with Amazon Prime Video. Woo! The deal includes the previously announced Mr. and Mrs. Smith's series with Phoebe Waller Bridge, and Glover will executive produce other projects for Amazon, but the move will not affect the upcoming third and fourth seasons of Atlanta on FX. Roca, are you excited to see Donald Glover's future projects on Prime Video?
Starting point is 00:31:15 Oh, hell yeah. Donald Glover, are you kidding? Come on. As I said, I just finished Atlanta just a couple of weeks ago, and I'm like, you got to give me more. You got to give me more of this. And I'm telling you, this is incredible because he's got seasons three and four shooting. Latino Heat 20-9 donated $20.
Starting point is 00:31:32 Happy Friday crew. As Mugata would say that Catherine Hahn is so hot right now. For real Toshi Fine AF, at 1,000, can we have been sing higher by Creed that would be the best. Yes. Hey, Steph, how you doing, girl? All right. It's been thrown down. The gauntlet is down. If we get to a thousand dollars, Ben Goddard will sing Crete. We'll sing higher by Creed. Ooh, that's a tough song. That is a tough song.
Starting point is 00:32:00 I was going to say that y'all got me. I mean, I know Creed is a meme nowadays, but Scott Sapp can sing. So y'all are in for it now. Don't regret what she asked for. I like you. Let's do it. You got to do the video too. Slow motion. Well, that's open. That's with arms. Oh, is that with that one. Yeah, my bad, my bad. Oh, I get those two songs of theirs. Confused anyway, but yeah. No, they're also unique and different. Exactly. Exactly. Yeah, so yeah, this is great. And I love Donald Glover and him expanding out his brand. I'm a little nervous because it's a lot to do all at once. But what I mean, it's incredible when you look at
Starting point is 00:32:42 where he started with community, he's got an eight figure deal now with Amazon to do multiple things. Plus he's brought his brother along. His brother's got his own deal as well. I hope in some way, shape, or form they can get that Deadpool animated series or some version of it on that deal. I would love to see that happen or maybe use some of those scripts to just create a new character, a new series, a new world, that they can use some of the stuff in those scripts as well.
Starting point is 00:33:08 What do you think, Ben? You like this idea? I do. Is he going to be, Alex, is it just for acting? Or is he going to be like larger projects and everything, Everything like it's he's gonna have his own content channel apparently on the on God his own hub essentially This is this is so huge and I'm wondering like with Amazon doing this are is Netflix gonna follow suit because Granted I mean it is Noah Centineo the Donald Glover of Netflix
Starting point is 00:33:38 But uh stop it But uh but uh saying like having his own channel on Amazon Prime like can Dude, hats off to Donald. He's absolutely deserved it. And I'm excited to see it. And I hope he gets back into comedy. I really do. He's just such a funny fucking dude.
Starting point is 00:33:58 Like, and honestly, like, Dan Harmon is amazing. But when Donald left the show is when the show went down. Like when he left and he didn't have Troy and Abbot anymore, the heart left with Donald of community. So I hope he does get into, I mean, maybe he's past it. Maybe he's like, okay, I want to do like dramas. I want to do like, you know, serious. stuff now and that's fine but he's just so funny I'd love to see him do like another comedy series yeah what do you think step yeah he's got his own challenge he's going to be curating
Starting point is 00:34:27 stuff on that channel so it's in essence Donald Glover is going to be like instructing you to projects or to films or TV shows that maybe you wouldn't have watched in the past but because he puts a stamp on it saying that this is a good thing it might open the door for a lot of these creators and actors for their shows or movies to get seen more by the public yeah I mean this is so exciting. It's so fun that it's also happening in Black History Month because this is history. The fact, what Donald Glover has been doing the past,
Starting point is 00:34:58 like decade and plus is pretty amazing. And I don't think people really realize it. This is like the power of entertainment of art and writing. He's not just creating, he's made content that's so good that everyone can universally agree on that and celebrate in that. And he's always stayed true to himself. He's done really weird. weird, unique projects. He's one of a kind in the stories he wants to tell. And people, it's just
Starting point is 00:35:24 good. You can't deny it. So it's really a special moment. Not many people, if anyone, I think now it will start happening, but have channels that are like specially curated by them for them. That's a ton of power. He's like becoming the Wizard of Oz in a lot of ways. And I'm really, really excited for it. I trust his taste and his style. And I do think that he, this has kind of been probably in motion for a little bit because he has been taking a longer time with releasing the next few seasons of Atlanta. So this makes sense. And I think he'll be prepared to do what he needs to do for this platform.
Starting point is 00:36:00 Yeah. Is Atlanta going to move over to Amazon or is it going to stay on FX? That's a good question. Yeah. I think it might move over to Amazon, Ben, because or maybe he, uh, this is his last thing. And that's how he got out of the deal. FX said to him, you've got to shoot these seasons. he's shooting three and four back to back starting in March.
Starting point is 00:36:19 So maybe he's like, okay, I'll shoot these. And then I'm done with the deal. I'm moving on to Amazon. So this is a deal that's been signed. And maybe this was his way out. You know, like artists have to record three albums before they get out of the contract. They record them real fast so they can get out of that contract. We'll see.
Starting point is 00:36:34 You know what albums are kids? You can buy them in the stores now. Anyway, Alex, what do you think? Do you like this idea for, do you want your own content, your own channel there on the on the SCN network where you can curate your movies? Hell yeah, I do. Give it to me, Christian. Come on. No, but yeah, he did have a previous relationship with Prime because he had his short film, Guava, Island on there,
Starting point is 00:36:57 which is pretty good and also directed by Hero Morai. And hopefully this can be like a blank check for his friends. Like, hey, you can do whatever you want. Go make whatever crazy thing you want to do, and we'll have it on this channel here. And one of the projects in development, Rumoredly in Development is a series called Hive, which focuses on a Beyonce-like figure,
Starting point is 00:37:20 and it's being written by one of the Watchmen's scribes, and also Malia Obama is on the writing staff. Crazy. But also, I hope he does more music. I love his music. That's how his 2011 album Camp is amazing, and also because of the Internet, that album is amazing. But also, like, what about Spider-Man?
Starting point is 00:37:42 What's going on there? What's going on with Lando? Will he have time to do those? So those are the things I'm curious about as well. But yes, I am excited for freaking Donald Glover. I love him. Yeah, this is the other side of it, right, Dwayne? I mean, it's great to get signed to do all these things.
Starting point is 00:37:55 But now it's like, all right, create that content, son. Like, we just celebrated it. It's a great 24 hours. You sign the contract. You got all this money coming in. Now you wake up the next thing. He's like, okay, go on and create it, son. This is a lot of pressure to put on young shoulders like Donald Glover.
Starting point is 00:38:11 but, you know, he seems to have stepped up to the plate most of the time. Would you think you'll be able to handle this? Or will some projects go back? Corn Hub casting agent donated $20. Thank you. Hi, this is to inform Alex Marzona that we are giving him an opportunity to audition for a regular appearance in one of our shows. We found out that he has a big enough pee-p-p that he can handle two months. Congratulations, Mr. Marsona for getting this opportunity.
Starting point is 00:38:37 Nice. Pornhub, cast, agents definitely say the word Pee-P. Pee, by the way. Official casting. It's super provisional. Contractually, the only thing they're always going to say. Well, he is the Filipino phenomenon for a reason. Anyway, go ahead, doing good.
Starting point is 00:38:53 I don't know how much of this is going to be, you know, Donald writing, acting. I think a lot of this is going to be probably more on producing side. I would imagine because he's going to still do his own stuff. And I don't think Atlanta is going to be moving away from. FX because I don't think Disney is going to let that go. Like, they're not going to let go the hottest show that they have for that channel. Like, yeah, they're going to hold on to that as tight as they possibly can, especially if they're going to use him in the Lando series, which I imagine they will.
Starting point is 00:39:28 If they don't, they're kind of dropping the ball on that one. Yeah. But I think he can definitely handle it. I mean, he's shown with all of his other creative ventures, like, while he was doing Atlanta, doing solo, like doing all these different huge things. things at once. I think he can handle it for sure. Okay. Yeah. You can do it when you're young when you get older. That's more time on you.
Starting point is 00:39:47 I agree with Dwayne, but I'm wondering what the, the sales pitch was what like like eight figures to only produce like I feel like he's got to have a little more creative input into it because I, I don't want to say like it. I don't know if Donald Glover is at that Jordan Peel level where you could be like produced by or like, you know, what they do with literally every horror movie now, produced by the same company that produced get out with jordan's like even though jordan peel's like yeah sure like that's like that's all he's like but i don't know if he's got that same like produced by don't glover if it's got written by don't glover or starring don't glover then yes absolutely but i don't if he's got that same producer clout yet yeah what do you think so do you think that's enough
Starting point is 00:40:30 to convince people to watch his stuff kind of i i think that he's right under jordan peel in a different way because Jordan Peel has, I mean, they both have a really diversified background with both doing comedy, writing, producing, and directing. That's a really unique combination that they both hit. There is a difference, though, that Donald Glover is a singer and a rapper, and he's childish Gambino. So he has even, like, a different reach where I think Peel has put in the executive producer work a little bit, has a little bit more under his belt. Donald Glover has the music. So they're pretty even in terms of diversifying fan base.
Starting point is 00:41:11 And I think people knowing him, I also think the younger generation might feel more attached to a Donald Glover, childish Gambino figure as opposed to a Jordan Peel, even though us in the space, like as critics and people who are like in love with what Jordan Peel creates, view him in a little bit different regard. Yeah, yeah, that's a fair point. All right. Any final words on this one or shall we move on?
Starting point is 00:41:33 Nope, okay, good to go. All right, let's show, please. Don't forget to send in your stream lab supertats of small bots here on the show. Remember, it's your contributions every day that allow all these great people to come in here every day to do the things that they do. Also, you're supporting the SCN network, all the great content you get to enjoy and turn on on YouTube, all the matches, all the back and force, the inner geekdom show, Dan Murrow's show, all of that by supporting us every day here on SCN Live. You're keeping the lights on, keeping those shows going, and it means a lot to all of us for sure. So please keep sending in your support today. Let's have some fun.
Starting point is 00:42:08 Send in some weird stuff. Lord knows, don't let Port Hub own the day for God's like. I'm sure you've got other funny things you can send in. So send them in. And also let us know what's your favorite Donald Glover project or scene or what do you want to see from him that you'd love to enjoy as well and all of that. So all right, Alex, where are we on to next? All right. Mark Wahlberg's production company, Unrealistic Ideal,
Starting point is 00:42:31 is working on a docu-series about Movie Pass. The series will follow the company's founding its explosive growth in 2017 when it offered unlimited theatrical releases for $10 a month and the downfall of the business when outside investors took over the company, leaving it bankrupt and under investigation by the FBI. Roko, will you be watching this series and do you think it's safe to throw out my movie pass card? Oh my God. What? How do you still have that?
Starting point is 00:42:56 Oh, my God. Just in case. You're like a role doll character, Alex. You feel like you are Matilda going to the library right now. I'm obsessed. I cut mine up and threw it. It's the bottom of a landfill somewhere. Holy shit.
Starting point is 00:43:11 Here's what I'll say. I really don't think it's that interesting of a story, to be honest with you. I may be in the minority, but I understand him doing it. It makes sense because a lot of people were like following this thing and were laughing along as movie pass started to sink and all the weird statements by its CEO claiming that it was going to be around for the next 20 years and people need to invest because this is really going to happen.
Starting point is 00:43:36 But I also think it's a cautionary tale. So if they find a new and interesting way into this documentary, like with a tongue firmly planted in its cheek, then yes, I'll be down. But if they treat this like a very serious story about a serious thing that happened, I think I wouldn't want to see something like that. What do you think, Steph? I just wish anyone who wants to tell stories about like the downfall of anything in the movie related business put all of their energy into rebuilding the theaters and finding a way for us to go
Starting point is 00:44:08 to the theaters again that's like the only story i want to hear really and like there's so many crazy documentaries out right now i just watched that cecil hotel one on netflix and it's like if i'm gonna watch a documentary i need my shit rocked like i i want to go to space with what with what your information you're about to tell me i don't need i don't think that this is gonna rock my shit so to speak in a classy way. Fair enough. Fair enough. Alex, Steph's Tinder bio says too, I need my shit rocked.
Starting point is 00:44:40 I need my shit rock or get the fuck out. Alex is we'll be past something that will rock your shit, man. I hope so. I love getting my kid rocked as well. Hey. Porn up is winning the day. Yeah, never mind. It really is.
Starting point is 00:44:57 Never mind. uh that says that's the hotel documentary i thought was okay like i feel like i'd listen to enough true crime podcasts about it uh and like known enough about the history that it didn't enlighten me in any way and but the thing about movie pass is that i didn't read in too much about that and there weren't podcasts really about that so this would be interesting to just learn about um and i mean i hope like dan merle gets in there because i know he's trash talked movie pass a lot Yeah, yeah. I watched
Starting point is 00:45:31 SJU like quite a bit. So like Dan was like on it. Dan was like like cataloging that entire movie past debacle. I think, you know, if I had extra time, this sounds interesting. Right. But honestly like this could be like an interesting like newspaper article, like your website article more than like a full documentary. And honestly I don't want like it. This feels like like fire festival to me.
Starting point is 00:45:55 Like yeah, fire festival was like an interesting documentary. because it went viral, but also like the, the asshole that got 200 grand from Hulu to get interviewed. I'm like, dude, fuck that. Like, don't pay this piece of shit money. Like, he abandoned. It was funny, though. It was funny. It was funny. But just like when you saw that literally, like, we all like made fun of those, those kids. But like, 70% of them legit were just like suckered because they a lot of them did their due diligence of like checking in the hotel, like checking to make sure it was accommodating. and those people flat out fucking lied to them. Sent like stock photos of hotels. And like, so that was crazy.
Starting point is 00:46:35 So I did kind of feel bad, even though there was a good handful of them that were just really dumb. But, but I do, I am kind of curious to see like that. If MoviePass just raised its price to 15, 20 bucks a month, they would have been fine.
Starting point is 00:46:53 Like, they started at 40. They started at 40, but just like, because even I, I love A-List, but you know, it's only for AMC. You only get three a week and you do get IMAX and stuff like that, but still a movie a day.
Starting point is 00:47:07 It was too good to be true. It was way too good to be true. Any time in life, y'all take it as a lesson. If you're asking yourself, wow, this is truly incredible, do I feel comfortable putting my credit card information on here? It's probably too good to be true. I'm, there's just no way that that was economically feasible. We knew that was going to know, especially in LA one movie you've already profited off of movie pass.
Starting point is 00:47:33 Like, because a movie. They're 20 bucks. Yeah. Yeah. It's crazy. That's I got it when it was at 40. That's when I first started getting on movie because I was because it was before I got, you know, like really in with publicists to get invitations to screenings. So I had to watch these movies as soon as they came out and watched multiple ones over the weekend.
Starting point is 00:47:51 So I got it at 40 because I was like, well, I'm going to see more than three movies in a month. So why not? It makes all the sense in the world and when it dropped to 999, I was initially like, this is great. And then the other part of me, the analytical part of me goes, how the fuck are they going to make this work for $10 a month? Even if you sell all those refreshments, which I guess was the intended purpose when they dropped it, that more people would go. Therefore, there'd be more money for the movie theaters to make off refreshments. Even it did not. It wasn't it wasn't something that was going to be able to sustain itself.
Starting point is 00:48:23 And so no surprise that it eventually crashed and burned. But Alex still has one. It works for, it does work for A-List, I will say. Yeah, A-Lis works, yeah. A-Lis works because you also earn points. Yep. So, and especially at AMC when it's like $18 for a regular-price movie, like, no way in hell am I going to pay that and then get an $18 small popcorn.
Starting point is 00:48:44 Yeah. But if I skip on that, I might get it. I might get a slurpy. Yeah, like when it's in-house, it's easier to deal with for those movie theater chains. Like, I know Regal had one as well. And Alamo even had one, which is, I signed up for like within the last two weeks before the quarantine began. So it's much easier to deal with when it's when they're doing it themselves.
Starting point is 00:49:07 Yeah, I remember like cinema archive when it was like $8.99 a month. You get one free movie a month and 10% off. I was like, what? Get out of here. You're crazy. At least with movie pass, none of the users got screwed over, right? Just the company went down. Right. I mean, our information got sold. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:49:27 People had a tough time canceling at the end. Like they were still charging them for months after. They're like a bad X that just won't leave you alone. It was pretty hilarious looking at the options at the end of movie pass of like what you could go see. I was like, there's just nothing. It's true. All right. So we'll see.
Starting point is 00:49:47 We'll see if Mark Wahlberg. We should have Dan call in as Mark Wahlberg talk knows about the movie pass. Right. Movie. That'd be great. His pitch. All right. What's our next thing, Alex?
Starting point is 00:49:57 Alright, our next thing, we talked about it yesterday. Well, we got a special guest here. Oh, boy. Oh, boy. Oh, my. No, it is me. I'm back again. Um, I don't know why I'm doing that, that high voice, but I'm back again. Uh, since Roka and Ben weren't here yesterday, um, do you guys want to talk about me getting a third movie? I'm getting Paddington 3. Are you guys excited about that for me to come back into screens? You think we'll be the villain?
Starting point is 00:50:29 Absolutely. Paddington and Paddington two are the two most lighthearted, wholesome films every day. Hi, Van Array donated $20. Thank you, Kyle. Hi, everyone. Hope you all are doing well. Want to make a quick plug and ask if you have not followed me on Twitch, The Joker's Back 1,987 to please give me a follow. I am at 31 trying to get to 50. Steph, you did amazing job posting the past.
Starting point is 00:50:56 two days. There you go. There's go. No, I actually, I am, despite Alex's bit, I am very excited. It's not a bit. Paddington's here. Can you show some respect to the wholesome bearer? Paddington doesn't have glasses.
Starting point is 00:51:14 Okay, Ben, you know what? Sorry about that. You're right. I didn't think about that. Where's your marmalade? Oh, God. I can't see right now. So if I get up, I will stumble and fall in getting my marmalade.
Starting point is 00:51:26 Well, I mean, that's what Paddington does, though, doesn't he? Ben, I'm about to call Malonia and unleash the B-Best program on you. My anti-bullied program, B-Bee-Best. Clismus? Christmas, the war on Christmas? No, I think I love Paddington. Paddington, too, is one of my favorite. And I'm really, I do love that that was, like, kind of trending yesterday of who's going to be the villain.
Starting point is 00:51:52 My vote was Idris Elba. That was my vote. because I think he would be a be a really really fun one yeah I'm excited what you're doing you fucking bear what you're doing in a bad what you're fucking comedy for his hands in his pockets like Luther which exactly like yeah Luther Luther actually Brov what you're doing it bear brov uh Alex you have to wear that the whole show now uh who is Alex I don't know who oh I'm sorry Pattington you have to wear the whole you have to wear that the whole show please Paddington
Starting point is 00:52:26 Stick around for the whole show, please, Paddington. We'll see. I'll check with my agent. Yeah. Ooh, he's both been busy. Yeah, it's a fox, isn't it? I mean, he's now on a trilogy, so I feel like he needs an agent. The Bourne circumcision donated $20. What?
Starting point is 00:52:42 With Zach Snyder soon releasing a black and white version of J.L. Can someone explain why so many modern directors do this? Maybe him out of touch, but what does is add to the film, really? Does anyone besides the first cut crew like, this trend. Oh, shit. That was good shade. Yeah, it was a good shade.
Starting point is 00:53:02 Yeah. I don't understand it with, with Justice League. Logan, I can understand. With Justice League, Zach already desaturates his movies enough. Like, why does he need to make them black and white? Yeah,
Starting point is 00:53:16 worked for Mad Max Fury Road as well. I thought I loved that in that. I think what it does, though, is get you to focus a little more on the acting. a little more on what's happening in the scenes because you don't have to worry about being distracted by multiple colors, right? You're just worried, just focused on a black and white situation. And you get a little more laser folks. I think that's the reason they do it. I don't see the
Starting point is 00:53:41 idea. I don't think the trend is like a great trend or anything like that. A one-off is fine. But if this starts to become the standard, then no thanks. I'm good. Shoot it in black and white then because that's how Manc was shot. Manc was shot in black and white so they could never colorize it. He shot it that way that it could never be colorized. I thought that was brilliant. That's a way of like, you want to do black and white motherfuckers? I'll show you black and white.
Starting point is 00:54:05 You know, so I respect that. What about you doing? Kyle Van Ardore donated $20. Best moment yesterday was Paddington saying, what the fuck must have been hanging around Deadpool to much. Yeah, that was good. Yeah, Dwayne hasn't seen my movies. So I told them to fuck off
Starting point is 00:54:24 Haven't seen Paddington? Oh my god I haven't either Staff okay they are literally the perfect Quarantine movies They will make you so fucking happy Yeah that second one is still 100% A Rotten Tomatoes first film I think No I know I remember seeing
Starting point is 00:54:40 Like all the praise about it And I just was so confused But I totally love a good kids movie Every now and then so I do have to see it Yeah it's like barely I mean it's He said, bad. He caught that pun.
Starting point is 00:54:57 He caught that pun, he did. He just raptured that up with his bear lasso. Raptured that up. I've been talking, I had to talk, do you guys, have you heard about the rapture? Oh, no, don't start. Oh, my God. Wait, who is?
Starting point is 00:55:13 My doorstep right now? Like, what is that? Hello, can I just tell you about this church I'm opening? Oh, the raptura. Oh, the rapture. She's going to have a left behind book in her hand. For you kids in the audience, left behind was a huge, huge series
Starting point is 00:55:34 when I was in high school. Like it took the nation by storm. And then Nicholas Cage made a movie. I'll leave my comments on that to myself. Let's move. What do we? Anybody else on this, Pat? Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:49 Who do you guys want to see as a villain? Ben chimed in with a. Idris Elba, who would you want to see there, Dwayne, Steph or Paddington? Who would you want to see as the villain in your movie? Well, in my movie, I would like it if Lin-Manuel Miranda was the... Oh, my God. ...was the villain, and he actually sent me a picture of his pitch. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:56:11 So that's the teaser image for his movie. That's good. So, hopefully he can be the villain in Paddington 3. Paddington, you're a bear, a bear who don't scare, a bear who kiss. I don't want to see it. Sure, Lynn Manuel Miranda with a Cockney accent. We already tried that in Mary Poppins. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:56:33 No. That was basically worse than my accent. Let's not go too far. Allow governor. Give it in bits, governor. Let me have them bits. Govna. I'm the villain.
Starting point is 00:56:47 I'm heard of the raptura. Let me tell you about the raptura. Govna, come on. I would want Ben Affleck to be the villain in my film. I am looking for an opportunity to kick his ass respectfully under the guise of film. Does he have his honor to Armist cut out with him? Yes. And she becomes a real life human. Like she like morphs out of the cutout and becomes my like partner in crime. That was never ever going to work. That was never ever going to work.
Starting point is 00:57:18 That was never ever going to work. That was. was Anna Darma. She is on her own journey as a woman. And she's like, yeah, I'll try this out. Let me see if this works out. Oh, I didn't I'm out of here. And poor Benz, take that cut out of it. You burn it. You thought Casey, take that cut out of you put it in the trash. I can, do you guys? Yes. I'll buy a thousand. Oh my gosh. It's. Oh, man. Yeah, they're Boston boys, man. You know, you don't take that out of people. Why wouldn't you like half it? Like put the, oh, car car. Oh, because he knew that picture was good that was his last shade at her that was a shot at her i think then too shay don't you fold that
Starting point is 00:57:57 thing never fold i was going to say ben is used to these big breakups so he's he's got it down like the like a sign yeah he knows he's like ordering duncans he knows how to get through it oh by the way speaking of which i was like doing some uh some when i was watching wanda vision this morning i watched it twice by the way because i'd watch with my girlfriend uh and i was looking at cat dennings and i was like looking at all these people involved in it's it's incredible where they're going where she what she's done and then where she's at now and start to speculate uh some of the things that we might be seeing from her going forward not not not to any spoilers just saying what we might be seeing from her going forward so i'm i'm looking forward to it for sure yeah this could be like i mean i know two broke girls was crazy crazy
Starting point is 00:58:43 successful but uh this could be another chance for her afterwards because people are loving her and Jimmy Wu together like and Monica like they're loving that trio of like just I mean of like normal like ground level people working these like crazy MCU cases so right yeah she people she could I don't know she could be a fun villain too what do you think dwayne who do you want to seize a villain in batting jason statham fuck it I mean he's hilarious and spy yeah he is great so funny and spy so good in spy I'd love him in in paddington honestly that be great. You get out of here. No, you get out of here. There's some other suggestions here for Olivia Coleman.
Starting point is 00:59:27 Yep, that's my suggestion. I love Olivia. It should be a great feeling. Keanu Reeves. Who else? Oh, hold on. My computer is not the best right now. Ooh, I can hear it. Be quiet. Ben, you are on it today. Oh, I can just hear like the like the The processor?
Starting point is 00:59:49 Like going crazy. Is this computer as old as you are, Paddington? It is. I took it from whatever jungle I am from. I forgot which one. The darkest of Peru. Yes, from Peru. Any Taylor Joy and Tom Hardy are also on this list.
Starting point is 01:00:04 The chat is suggesting. That would be great. I would love that. They're all my friends. Yeah. Tom Hardy is a villain would be something. I'd like you get into a fight scene with Tom Hardy. Right.
Starting point is 01:00:16 I killed that motherfucker. Oh, you heard it here first. It's going down. Oh, shit. Going after Tom, Marty. Well, you know what else is going down, Steph? At noon today, Christian Harloff on the stereo app. I am joining Christian because Brett's taking the day off.

I know Ben and Ben has been slurping on the dungeon crazy with Kaiser. show the show that they do. I know JT and the Barbarian are going to start doing a show on stare at up on Saturdays to talk about the matches as they happen the day after. So look for that to be dropping as well. Ben, do you have one? Have you been on them? Talk, talk to me. I know Roxy and Steph are always on there. I always get those notifications. And then right now, the only one I have is Whisper Vision. Me and Alex's 1am reviews of Wanda Vision where we whisper
Starting point is 01:02:42 because Alex is can't wake up his parents right now. So it started as a joke, but it works. And everyone literally whispers in their voice messages. So everyone really gets into it. And I love it. It's fun. That's perfect. That's perfect.
Starting point is 01:02:58 Yeah, I'm on at the Roka says on mine. And my girlfriend and I are starting tomorrow. We're going to preview our MCU watch along. And then Sunday, we're going to drop our first episode talking about Iron Man. We're going to do them by release. Send in your money. in the donations keep the lights on or i'm sorry help keep the lights on in this place and everything that we're doing so please send us some support as we go on through the last 50 minutes of the show go ahead Alex uh let me go get Alex right now because he thinks this bit is going on for too long uh one second oh hey guys what's up what's up oh what's up guy Alex where you been you miss paddington i know he was he asked me if he could come on to read his news about his third movie so I let him you know he's a good friend so hopefully we can we can chat
Starting point is 01:04:46 about it soon but yeah so hopefully that can happen we can hang out all together at some point but I just wanted to share with everybody that we have some breaking news oh Andy Mushietti announced casting for his flash movie and he will have Supergirl in it and the star and a new Supergirl has been cast Sasha Calle from the young and the restless. I'm looking at her IMDB and doesn't look like she has much besides young and the restless. So we have an up-and-comer, a newcomer, relative newcomer coming into the DCEU. What do you guys think of Supergirl being in the Flash movie?
Starting point is 01:05:27 Sabra. What do you think of this? That's really exciting. I'm looking up who she is right now. Oh, yeah, Sasha Kelly. I haven't, I'm not too familiar with her, but that's exciting. I don't really know. Do we have a premise of the Flash movie at all?
Starting point is 01:05:41 right now um the rumors are there's a flash point but that's about it yeah go ahead yeah yeah i think anytime that you're expanding a story and having another superhero with you in a partnership it works really well uh kind of like we saw thor and hulk i think that this could be really cool if that's how it is for them if they're working together and they're building some sort of relationship and i'm glad that it's super girl that's an awesome character yeah i love this idea too because uh look she's She's Latina. She's from Boston, Massachusetts. She was born there, but she's of Colombian heritage. She's the first Latina supergirl ever in DC. And Muscietti, I believe, is Argentinian. So this kind of, I love this idea that there's Latino vibe. As a Latino myself, it's great to see this happening now. Finally, in superhero movies, you're letting us be a part of it. This is great. This has been a long time coming, so I'm excited about this. And I'm reading the deadline article. It says, Annie Muscietti said he saw more than 400 auditions in the USA, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia.
Starting point is 01:06:44 And apparently, however you feel about this, you can feel about this. She did a chemistry read with Flash star Ezra Miller, as she's going to be part of this thing. All the auditions were done over Zoom, and she will be apparently flown out really soon to be part of the Flash movie. And Andy Mushieri, oh, and she also won Outstanding Young Performer, or she was nominated last year for Outstanding Young Performer, in a Drama Series category at the daytime Emmys for her work as Lola Rosetti. on the young and the restless. And also there's a great little video that Mushieri put up, I think, on his Instagram
Starting point is 01:07:16 where he is calling her and telling her she got the job. So pretty awesome stuff to look at. And he says, been doing a lot of flashbacks lately, but today is about a flash forward. So that lets you know there's going to be some... And they're speaking in Spanish together in the video. Ah, gotta love it.
Starting point is 01:07:33 I like much. What do you think, Ben? Do you like this idea? I love the idea of Supergirl. I don't like, I just watch Flashpoint Paradox, the DC animated movie. If you guys have HBO Max, make sure you watch that. It's really, really good. I'm wondering how Flash, how Supergirl fits into this.
Starting point is 01:07:51 But no, I've always loved the character of Kara. So I think this is a great casting. And they're just missing one new cast and that's a new flash. I don't know, you know, whenever they, whenever they feel like recasting that, that, yeah. You know, did the chemistry with him. So I don't think it's happening anytime. Yeah, it's pretty crazy.
Starting point is 01:08:13 But yeah, I'm really, really excited. This movie has been gone through the ringer with so many different directors and everything. So if we are finally getting those steps, whenever I see like the first, like check the gate thing, I'll believe this movie's happening because they need to get on set. Shit, I won't believe until we see a trailer, Ben.
Starting point is 01:08:34 Yeah, that's fair. That is fair. Alex, what do you think? Do you like this idea? Is an Enya in your name? Do you like the idea of having a Latino? a supergirl moment oh yeah i mean they're casting their net like for specifically a south american um actress to play her and that's really cool i i again am curious about how she will fit in uh if they're gonna this is their way of not having superman in it at all and then moving on from
Starting point is 01:09:01 that so we'll see what happens but i'm glad that they cast a woman of color here and didn't we just get the news uh that uh one of the uh um One of the shows at the CW was not going to go forward that people were looking forward to with the Latina Lee, the kind of Wonder Woman Jason show. Was it, well, Wondergirl? What was it called? I forget what it was called. But they put the kibosh on it after reading the script. So we're not getting her. She's supposed to be a Brazilian descent. We won't be getting her in the D.C. universe, so to speak, on screen.
Starting point is 01:09:34 So getting this, though, I think is a nice way to end the week when that news dropped earlier in the week. Duane, what do you think? Do you like this idea of Latina? Is it time for El Supergirl? Wait, not Elia Supergirl. What do you think? Is it time? La Supergirl? I don't know enough about this actress to really be excited about this. I mean, I'm excited that it's something different on screen.
Starting point is 01:09:59 Like, that's great. But I don't know enough about her to be excited about her specifically. Yeah. We look at the picture of her. It looks like, yeah, I don't know how you do Superman. out of this situation, Alex. I hear your point. It's the right, right, right, Steph. It seems like they might be having separate plans to make because the rumor was that she, that Superman was going to be part of her movie. She was going in essence be older than him.
Starting point is 01:10:23 So, but it seems like maybe that's not the way they're going. Yeah, it seems like that. I feel like because if you have Superman in there too, it's not becoming more another justice league movie where you just have, have everyone in there. I know like everything with Ezra is a little bit murky. happened to have really loved his flash character. So it excites me in the sense that if there was a chemistry read and it really worked, that that will be cool to see. Because I can imagine he's a very unique type of actor,
Starting point is 01:10:53 that it was hard to find someone that matched with him. But after just watching part of that video of her, like, finding out, I know I don't know much about that, but it just like to see someone win like that in general, period, I don't care. That's got to make your Friday. Like if you're not feeling good today, Go watch that video. It's so sweet.
Starting point is 01:11:13 Speaking of Latino superheroes, I would really love to see Jamie Ray as Blue Beetle and or Jessica Cruz Green Lantern in the near future. Far too little representation for us in these hero slash Disney royalty roles to look up to. I'd love for Jaime Ray is to come in as Blue Beetle. He's one of my favorites from Young Justice, the cartoon. Yeah. He's great. And then what's the, is it Nova?
Starting point is 01:11:38 Duane what's the Nova in Marvel yeah Nova oh yeah he's like I like him too and I know like Hecker Navarro has been like campaigning that for so long to get a Cobra Kai kid Zola Matadueno as that as that character absolutely been saying it for years that we need to have more representation in the superhero realm so to see it happening
Starting point is 01:12:00 piece by piece I love it I think it's great and so it's not about taking away opportunities for other things it's about opening the you know opening the the portal a little bit more, letting representation be in there and be part of it, and, you know, people are gravitating to... Kingel McCaringee donated $20.
Starting point is 01:12:19 Now my name is Mark E.D. and him on the go, and due to miscalculations, I will let you know that him the Prince of Rap, the King of Hip Hop, and when my mouth starts to moving, I will not stop. RIP Prince Mark E.D. of the Fat Boys. Yeah, man. Nice.
Starting point is 01:12:36 Who is that? Yeah, I got to give a shout out. know you youngans don't remember the fat boys and prince marky d was the shit 52 years old that's he's too young 52 to have gone off the earth who sent that Alex that was hingle mcringle mccringleberry mcringle mcringle mcringleberry i want to give you some problems but that was awesome yeah uh if you guys remember the fat boys back in the 80s rap was a fun thing to do uh and uh you know the fat boys certainly we're one of the first groups to come out and have a little fun with it and um it's a shame it's a shame to lose someone at 52 years
Starting point is 01:13:08 years old who's kind of yeah it's in Jackson just was found in his hotel that was so sad it's 38 yeah 38 yeah now the news came out Ben they said that he might he might have been uh passed for a few days before yeah found him which is a shame to see so uh but yeah crazy 2021 man it's not letting us go it really's not right a lot of kicks in the nuts uh all right where we got to Alex uh that was all our stories today i'll keep an eye for any other um any other breaking news. I'm going to get to stream labs in just a second, so make sure to keep on putting
Starting point is 01:13:44 in questions in stream labs. Latino Heat 2049 donated $20.00. We invading the DC universe motherfuckers. Latino power activate. We hear Sun and we ain't leaving.
Starting point is 01:14:00 Yeah. That was from Latino Heat 2049. Thank you very much. Yeah, thank you. So yeah, as you keep on donating in, getting questions in. I just want to make sure everybody knows that I will be closing voting for the SEM Live Awards at 1 o'clock today.

Starting point is 01:14:44 in your life, brother. Jesus. Yo. What is going on? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Leche de la Mama. Oh, go ahead, man, go ahead.
Starting point is 01:14:57 Daniel Medina says, Pts, Ben, stop hocking all the bagel bites. I brought enough for everyone. Never. See you guys next week. Hashtag Ben was right. Hashtag Daddy Bender. Hashtag Mark.
Starting point is 01:15:09 Amel is everybody. Mark Hamill is everybody. Mark Hamill is everybody. No spoilers, though. Something about whispering. It's just like, it's just received differently in my brain. It freaks me out. It doesn't rock your shit.
Starting point is 01:15:26 Is there is a whisper? I don't know. It might be. Something's happening, but I just don't. I can't identify. All right. Next one from one, five, six impulse. I almost got hot and cold at the same time.
Starting point is 01:15:38 I don't know what's happening. Yeah, my aroused. Okay, go on. Sorry. I almost got into a fight this past week. I was food shopping with my mom and the person behind us in line called my mom a bitch because she couldn't find her wallet. Oh, I wanted to fight. Me and my mom left. Damn. If this happened to your mom, what would you do? Oh, I'd be in jail. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, my God. I just don't ever come for someone's mama like that. Especially when her kid cub is there. Oh, no. I just had terrible chill I wouldn't have to do anything my mother is black she would have them up herself my mom would have said no no no I got this hold my earrings my mom's too sweet my mom's only like my mom can be so fierce when she needs to be because she's a lawyer so like when she needs to bring down shit bag she will but but when it comes to like out in out in the world I feel like I have to protect her
Starting point is 01:16:39 she's too nice that's fair that's fair uh all right actually what's our next one 50 shades of geek says my favorite moment in this episode of WandaVision was when the eye of Sauron opened up in the middle of Westview and Harry Potter came out of it writing the hoverboard from back to the future
Starting point is 01:16:56 with Pikachu on his shoulder and Ben Tens watch on his wrist yeah yeah yeah all Legos all in Lego too it's pretty incredible go ahead Alex All right We're almost We have not that many stream labs
Starting point is 01:17:09 So keep on sending them in guys Give me some questions to read What's going on? Are you all tired today? Is that what's happening? Come on. We're only at 240, 260 bucks here. Come on ladies and gentlemen Send us at least get us above 500
Starting point is 01:17:22 Before we end the day We need that all every day To kind of keep us all Having some fun and hanging out with you all So please send it in, send it in Go ahead Alex Andre Porter says Hey guys, since Ryan
Starting point is 01:17:34 it's not on the show to answer this, but what do you guys think of Carson Wentz going to the Colts from the from the Eagles? That trade agreement was terrible. What do they get for him? Two picks. They got two picks. They got a second rounder and a conditional pick for 2020. 24. 2022 and then 2024. Those are the two. Yeah. And the conditional one will become a first rounder if he plays 70% of the snaps, I think. Okay. I think it's great. Honestly, like, I don't know, it depends on your faith of Carson Wentz, but I think after what Matthew Stafford went for, I just don't think Watson is going anywhere. I think he's just too expensive. I think, you know, someone could bet the farm on him, honestly, and it'd be worth it.
Starting point is 01:18:21 He's a great quarterback, but Stafford going for two first rounds, Watson's going to be like four and, you know, a good player as well. So you're, but no, Indianapolis is a win now team. And I think that Wence could do it. If Philip Rivers could get them to the playoffs, I think Wenz could too. Yeah, absolutely. Phillips.
Starting point is 01:18:43 Sorry, I'm a San Diego girl. And he is a not good in the playoffs ever. Wow, shots fired. Yeah. Yeah, I think it's great a move for Wence. That's for sure. I mean, going to your former coach and Frank. Frank Reich, who got the best out of you when he was there in Philadelphia to play for him.
Starting point is 01:19:04 And also you got a better defense you're sliding into, better running back situation, better receiver situation, better O line. So if he can't make it work in Indianapolis, that kids washing out to be a backup or out of the league completely for sure. Because if any, this is a perfect situation for him. As for the Eagles, they wanted to commit to Jalen Hertz. I think that's why they said him. Everyone was so upset.
Starting point is 01:19:25 They didn't want to risk him getting injured at the end of the year on the last game. I think they knew they were going to get rid of Carson. So it was an edict. And this is why you saw him sit for that last game against the Washington football team. But they don't get that much. Those picks might not be that much because they're not first rounders is the second and a fourth rounder. So it's like it's not that strong. Yeah, they got him for cheap.
Starting point is 01:19:47 Yeah, they did. I hope no one says that about me ever. They got him for cheap. Damn. Wow. Do you all follow baseball? as much as you follow football. Quick cue, because I'm a San Diego gal,
Starting point is 01:20:04 we got, I hear we have a Japanese player coming to the team named you Darbish. Is there any tea on him? You, you've been playing in the league for a while. He's a really damn good player. Was he the one on the pitchers that blew the World Series? Yes, but yes, didn't play that well during the world. He didn't play that well.
Starting point is 01:20:24 He should have gotten pulled. He should have gotten pulled earlier. But no, he was a good pitcher, But didn't the then the Padres just like sign a guy to like a 14 year 300 million dollar deal was that? Yeah, Fernando Tatis. They signed $340 million. $14 million.
Starting point is 01:20:39 Damn. It's crazy. Every time I feel like baseball doesn't have that much money. And then you're like, wait, it actually has the most money in a lot of ways. Oh, yeah. Like that. Like, I mean, I know like a lot of multi-sport college athletes will choose baseball because of the longevity and the no salary cap.
Starting point is 01:20:58 Yeah. Yeah. Just crazy. And the, the money most of the time is guaranteed. So whatever happens, happens, like the Mets are still paying Bobby Bonilla,
Starting point is 01:21:09 I think, or just finished paying off Bobby Bonilla and his deal from the fucking early 2000s. Yeah, I think they finished paying him last year. Yeah, last year. They were paying $1.5 million a year. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:21:22 Years, man. It's crazy. You can set it. All right, Alex, what's next? Honestly, we can keep talking. about that but I love it just because like oh Brett's not here let's talk sports let's talk sports oh yeah I did text Ryan about this about this trade the other day I was like give me a one word reaction to it and he just sent me the it's gone it's done
Starting point is 01:21:42 gift from Lord of the Rings that's how he feels about the trade yeah are there any fights happening good fights happening this weekend there are two UFC fights but not really much that compares to what happened was it last week my Gregor I I think that was two weeks ago. I don't know, the Uzman guy, the Nigerian nightmare. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. He destroyed that dude. Oh my god, I know.
Starting point is 01:22:08 The knockout was vicious. What else you got, Alex? All right, for the shades of geek says the existence of Tom Holland and Tom Hollander implies the existence of a Tom Hollandist. Mind blow. I like that, I like that a lot. Nerdy bridge guy donated $29. Hey, nerdy.
Starting point is 01:22:29 Pay y'all for senior. Roger what would you say is the best hangover food, chillikilis Kani and Suhudo or just some good old tacos? Gracious Pousy. It's a good question. I usually fall back on Pizza Hut pizza with extra sauce and red sauce. Yeah, extra red sauce, chicken, black olives and meatball.
Starting point is 01:22:55 That's what I default to on my hangover food. food that's been helping me out when i was younger yes tacos and whatever but the pizza's just the bread settles the stomach what about you guys uh i do breakfast food like uh potatoes eggs bacon uh maybe like a good breakfast sandwich or something like that's good okay yeah i'm a breakfast burrito gal i love like hash brown eggs but mainly from san diego because our um i don't know how roca feels about this san diego mexican food shits on every other place period. Durina fights me about this and I can't really fight back because she is indeed the Mexican one. But I feel like growing up in San Diego, I don't know. They're just so good. But yeah,
Starting point is 01:23:40 so breakfast burritos and French fries. Those are. She doesn't know much about Mexican food. Don't let her for you. Somewhere, like all of the dead is rising to come kill us because upset the queen of death. Ah, hex. Hex. Hex. Uh, yeah, what do you think, Alex? So what do you do when you're Hungover. Yeah, as any as you said, anything with bread helps. So lately it's been an avocado toast because I'm a healthy boy. That's for LA for a hangover avocado toast. Yeah. Yeah. What are you drinking like yeah. Cider. I'm just kidding Alex. She attacked your manhood son. Yeah, I'm just kidding. I just had avocado toast yesterday. I am. Oh no. Yeah. Yeah. All the way from me. Got to Ms. Gall. Oh, that's my drink of choice.
Starting point is 01:24:36 Thank you. Shout us to Dorina for introducing me. Your parents let you have a bar in your fucking bedroom? Yeah, I got like two wines up there and another whiskey. He's also not in high school, John. Yeah. I'm a grown man, Dad. Let me have what I want.
Starting point is 01:24:53 Damn it, Dad. Don't make me show you my license again. $15.15. Did someone say, Latinos. We out here. The lady and I headed to Temex this weekend for some wine and relaxation. First time away from our little baby Po. Gonna be hard. Also worried about COVID. Going to stay in the room just wine sex and sleep. Hashtag payday 55. Thank you. That was Curbside Profit 13 and he donated $55. So thank you very much. Oh thank you. Curbside. Shout out to your baby.
Starting point is 01:25:25 Just why sex and food. Yeah, that's a good life. I dig it. Where are we at now, Dwayne? Let me know in the chat. All right. So yeah, what's your doing? And also, Dwayne, what's your hangover food?
Starting point is 01:25:40 So I've been doing something lately for my homeovers. This motherfucker says lately, so he's been getting drunk a lot. Go ahead, go ahead, Dwight, Dway. Well, I mean, I'm alone in my apartment. So. Oh, right on. It's, you know. See, you can have a bar because you're a lot.
Starting point is 01:25:55 alone in your own apartment. Anyway, go ahead. But I've been taking like the leftover pizza and like chopping it up and then putting it in like scrambled eggs. You're wild. You wild. It's so good. It is so good. Wait. Was that a high thought?
Starting point is 01:26:16 I got it from someone who I think was high when they thought it out. Okay. Yeah. There, I mean there's in this dimension that meal doesn't exist. But like in another one, maybe. But it's so good. It is, it's so good. Chop off the pizza.
Starting point is 01:26:34 Put it in the eggs. Oh. Oh. Oh. Don't make that and I start. We are at Wicked. We'll rock your shit. We're like the out of the box like the host.
Starting point is 01:26:54 Yeah. Oh, we're gonna rock your. Bro. Like there's a local. All right, let's go to Ben and Steph. We're going to tell us about the local food festival going on here in San Diego. Bro, these breakfast burritos rock my shit.
Starting point is 01:27:12 Bro, but the waves we were shedding. Oh my God, this so tubular. Rock into the waves, bro. I got to catch this way. Back to you, Bill at the desk. Fucking up. All right, there you go. We found your new stereo show.
Starting point is 01:27:35 Oh my God. We would never get on. would never get on. And that festival is happening this weekend, down in Temecula. All right. What are we got next down? Pitheshiata Geek says, what does the German baker say when he makes his bread in the morning? Gluten Morgan.
Starting point is 01:27:52 Oh, that's good. I came to realize that I'm basically a human credit card because I'm always either being used or denied. Oh my God. Ouch. Oh, my God. I have over a thousand employees. working under me because I clean rooftops. Fun fact, there are more airplanes in the ocean than there are submarines in the sky.
Starting point is 01:28:20 That's terrible. That's so dark. Wow. Wow. My car can go 500 miles per hour while falling off a cliff. Okay, that's all for now that I see. Ace Money, thank you for the Shades Geek for that. Ace Money says, Steph, great job hosting this week.
Starting point is 01:28:44 Also, you should do a show on stereo with Roxy where you explain all the crazy New Testament stories from the Bible. The rapture will blow her Jewish mind. We've heard about the rapture together by someone who is very religious, and it did blow our mind. We still are like, wait, a baby's coming from the sky, and then we die if we sin, or is that? And then you get sucked up into the...
Starting point is 01:29:08 Like, yeah, drunk history of that could be excellent, but I know I would get canceled. So I just, I think I'll lay low on the, on the Christian talk. That's fair. That's fair. Talk about Christian, chrystereo.com slash Christian Harloff. Make sure to check out his channel and his stereo show. Good suggestion. You can talk about that Christian.
Starting point is 01:29:28 Yeah. Let's, let's make a quick detour here. What do you guys think is going to happen tonight? Give your thoughts, predictions. You know, we're going to talk about that Christian and I on that. I got the show. What's you feeling about it? Ben, you're, you're now a veteran of the game.
Starting point is 01:29:41 I would say going into your second year, but you've watched numerous seasons of the Schmodeown. What do you feel about Laura Kelly, Molly Damon? This is a hell of a matchup between these two ladies. It is. I want to give the slight edge to Molly. But both of these matchups are such toss-ups. And I feel like we're going to be saying that a lot this year.
Starting point is 01:30:05 I think there, you know, with some rookies and vets, maybe there's, you know, some favoritism. But, you know, with what Adam Collins did, getting a free agent halfway through the year, there's no sure bets anymore. Yeah. But I'll give the slight edge to Molly. And with Mara and Sean Drew,
Starting point is 01:30:23 I think that if the inner geekdom had stayed the same, I'd have to give the edge to Sean Drew because his last two five-round matches have been crazy impressive. But I do think with the adding of all the new capital, categories to intergeekdom. I think it does level the playing field quite a bit. And with intergectom players, like we're not allowed to put, you know, two slices on the wheel. Like we don't get like, oh, give me, um, give me aliens and give me transformers. Like, no, what you get on the wheel is what you get. So there, there could be matches where people don't get two of their favorite slices. You know,
Starting point is 01:30:57 like Alex Damon, uh, could not get Star Wars or Lord of the Rings to like two categories that he will go perfect in. Yeah. They could not be on the wheel. So that could be a real game. game changer. So I do think it levels the playfield quite a bit from Mara. It's just going to, for me, it's going to come down on the speed round. In, in that match. So who you got? I think I got Mara. I think I'm going to go Mara. So you go Mara Molly is what your, Eminem is here is what you put.
Starting point is 01:31:25 Eminem. Okay. All right. Marzonia, what do you think? I mean, just like my dad and my brother's initials, I'm going double M, Molly and Mara as well today. Let's do it. I'm rooting for them, especially against Chargers. Okay. All right. What do you say there, Steph? I'm going Molly, Molly and Mara, too. I really think that they have a really good shot. But like Ben was saying, it's crazy the level of competitors that we have and how good everyone is.
Starting point is 01:31:53 It really just matters on their prep and how they're feeling that day and like how they're receiving each question because you just really don't know. And obviously with everything being Zoom, it's a little bit different. So, but I do think Molly and Mara. Okay. What do you think, Duane? I think Molly will probably get a very close win, Star Wars. Okay. And that's a three-round match, right?
Starting point is 01:32:20 Yeah. Yep. That's the thing is that there can be no mistakes in that one. No, none. Yeah. And I think Chandar is going to pull out a decisive victory. Wow. You think decisive?
Starting point is 01:32:34 Yeah. Shots fired. I don't think what I would do with the wheel is put as many new slices on there as you can. Kind of level the field. Because I think that levels the field as best you can. But I don't think that that's what's going to happen. I think that we're going to get maybe one or two. And that's going to still give a very heavy lean to Chandruh.
Starting point is 01:33:00 Yeah, yeah. Well, I like these matchups because like Ben said, They're toss-ups and toss-ups are fun. You just have no idea what's going to happen here. And there's no real upset, whichever way it goes, because all of them bring their own pedigree to these matchups. So it's going to be exciting to see. I mean, Laura, I mean, we canceled one of our episodes of Jedi Way
Starting point is 01:33:24 to give Laura more time to study so she can really be focused in on it. And that'll be a thing to see. And does Molly have the same amount of, you know, kind of instinctual knowledge that Alex does. Yes, she trains with them all the time, but we've also seen her stumble a couple of times last year in the tournament on some questions that maybe she should have gotten. So what are we going to get?
Starting point is 01:33:46 And remember Laura only missed one question against ASE, and it was a crucial miss that ended up costing her the match. So those are those things you got to factor in here with the Star Wars matchup. And with Mara, I think Chandra is in a bit of a disadvantage. You have no idea what state of mind. Chandra, I mean, sorry, Mara is going to be. Yeah. When she shows up, you know, I mean, this is really important.
Starting point is 01:34:07 We've seen Mara really dial in and shock the world. Remember that IG tournament a few years ago? Remember she beat Rachel in one of the greatest matches we've ever seen. But then we also saw her kind of melt down a little bit during that match with Kalanowski. So these are these are all factors you throw into. And Chandra's riding high, but we've seen Chandra also bite it in losses before he started going on this run. So you never know. You just never know what's going to happen in the Shmodown.
Starting point is 01:34:31 And it'll be exciting tonight for sure. And I'm sure there'll be storylines teased as well and great action throughout. So yeah, get ready for that one. All right, Alex, what do we got next? Ace Money says the best example of having a black and white version is The Mist. It gives it an old, an old school Twilight Zone vibe. And it helps take the edge off some of the questionable CGI elements. Frank Darabont always wanted it that way, but of course, studio interference.
Starting point is 01:34:57 Yep. I love The Mist. It's one of my favorite Stephen King adaptations. Got to watch that one, man. I've never watched that one. Oh, it's really good. And if you can't get in black and white, I do recommend it for sure. Really?
Starting point is 01:35:09 Yeah, I do. All right. All right. What's next, Alex? Next one is from Mr. Anas. Am I the only one who, when someone said J.K. Roka earlier, thought there was a new impression I hadn't seen yet? Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 01:35:26 No. No, please, no. I can't do that. I can't do rally. It's a distinctly unique British accent. So funny though. It would be a blonde wig on. If you had a blonde wig roka, I would lose my shit.
Starting point is 01:35:42 Like actually yeah, I'm gonna need you to do that John so we can take. Yeah. We can take back Harry Potter. We need to take. Yes, please. Let us bring take out the darkness, bring lights again. Yeah, do you have the Dumbledore theme that that Christian used to, you to have let's see why have it I do think I do oh god no I can't I don't have I don't
Starting point is 01:36:06 I mean no no we got to make people Schmo bought it in but I'm yeah yeah yeah yeah I mean like we'll just have it we'll have it ready it's this one this is really random but I've been meaning to ask has anyone walk oh yeah that's it has anyone watched loop in on Netflix yet not yet oh my God I just finished it it is so good I cannot wait for the second series but I was curious if anyone else had watched it. It's on my list. My parents watched it, but with the English dub and I was like,
Starting point is 01:36:34 oh no, don't watch it with English stuff. Watch it in French. Yeah, that's what I'm going to do. Man, I actually, like I watched like half of Princess Mononoke here.
Starting point is 01:36:44 And then I moved over to my TV. And I had the dub on. I said, oh, man, I don't, I understand people watching dub. Like if you're not paying attention or you don't want to read,
Starting point is 01:36:55 but just like, it's just like such a weird technology. that we just haven't perfected, I feel like, because it seems so out. I agree completely. It seems so out of like the movie, like the different audio levels are so strange when it comes to dubbing. And just Earwick and the witch, I just, when I came out, like the dub, I tried both versions because I was like, maybe I'm like not getting it because I didn't really enjoy it that much. But the dub version is $99 and $99. I don't want Roger yelling at me later on our.
Starting point is 01:37:28 Discord hangouts, here's your money, leave me alone. Thank you, Brian, Brawler. Thank you, Brian, Ball. Yeah, your cat is saved for today. All right, what do we got next? Wait, was Earwig good? I was planning on watching that, but then the CGI is just... It's...
Starting point is 01:37:45 I, like, Studio Ghibli's my childhood life, but I did not like it. Oof. Okay. All right. Maybe I'll watch the dub for that one and just put it on the background. Yeah, but the dub is even... It's so bad. I don't, the dub, but maybe. Is it on as on Netflix? It's on HBO Max.
Starting point is 01:38:05 Yeah, okay. It's like the, they changed, it's like the newest form of animation that Studio Ghibli's never done. So people were worried about it and. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, see giant anime is always tough. Like I know Mapa or Mapa,
Starting point is 01:38:22 they're doing like the last season of Attack on Titan. And some of it looks really good and then other time it looks a little It looks a little, so. Yeah. Have you gone hunting? I went hunting last night through the Hulu anime titles. Hulu has a lot.
Starting point is 01:38:38 Is they, do they? Okay. Yeah, Hulu has a good selection of anime. Okay. They do. Like, they almost, I almost didn't keep my Funimation subscription because Hulu has so many, but there's a few that they don't have. Okay.
Starting point is 01:38:50 Yeah. I was looking for the, I was looking for the, the manga for Alita, because I know there's a, there's one that was released because we just finished talking about that for the Rotten Tomatoes is wrong with Mark Ellis and so doing research for the show I saw that they had had a actual anime for it so I was looking for it and I couldn't find it anywhere on any of the streaming services so maybe maybe it's on Funimation I don't know I didn't it's probably on Funimation I can check after and let you know okay I want to see that one yeah because I did not like that movie so I want to see the animated version
Starting point is 01:39:27 Oh, I know Alex liked that movie, but Alex, you'll forgive anything if you like the, if you like the lead. I know. I've seen you. I've seen you do that. No. Stop. It was a fun movie. Rosa looked to you like this and you were like, yes, four stars, four stars. With your big eyes. All right. I'm not, Tim Burton over here. I'm not a fan of big eyes.
Starting point is 01:39:49 Can I tell you I had a very strong reaction to that? When I saw Tim Burton, I'm like, what is a 62-year-old man doing writing for Wednesday, Adams who is like a teenager and then my girlfriend my girlfriend goes slow your role she has a he has a 14 year old daughter I was like all right all right that's fine yeah oh yeah that's initially I was like what the fuck and then all right 14 year daughter I can I can see that uh all right what's next Alex inappropriate gay dude says so good to see my sugar bear sweet daddy welcome back no one else can entice and frighten simultaneously question for y'all what's one music album and that encapsulates your high school experience. I'm not telling you that.
Starting point is 01:40:34 That da-da-da-da-da-da. Good old Betty Goodman. Drink your Ovalteen, kids. Mine will probably take this to your grave from Fall Out Boy.
Starting point is 01:40:50 Oh, nice. Yeah. Wow. I was an emo kid. Probably Take care, Drake. Hmm. You were high school for that. 20 allows my senior year, I think.
Starting point is 01:41:05 Yeah, band suck it. Now you're the old. Yeah, now I'm the old one. More oval team, please. I do remember that. I hated those kids. Yeah, that was 2011. Yeah, I was already in LA.
Starting point is 01:41:16 Wow. Wow. Alex, what do you got? There's so many, I think, but I think muses, the resistance might be the one that came out like, I think that was like my, junior year and so that was like
Starting point is 01:41:28 perfect timing for my my senior year to be shaped for that nice join what do you got all out boy well I don't want to say take this from your grave either so uh hybrid theory maybe what hybrid theory
Starting point is 01:41:46 uh Lincoln Pucks oh yeah that's a good one speaking of fall boy I think Infinity on high is my favorite album of theirs Mr. Raines donated $20 Thank you, Mr. Reyes. I shouldn't be doing this, but damn it, get me J.K. Roker. No, no.
Starting point is 01:42:01 I don't even know what she sounds like. Boy, give me to J.K. Roker. I can tell you that I don't like transphobia in my novels. No, so you got to take it back. Oh, sorry. I love trans people in my novels and in my, Harry actually was going to go through a change in one of my novels. Actually, he was going to embrace. Harriet was going to be Harriet Potter.
Starting point is 01:42:29 Yes, absolutely. All over it. And him and Rupert, her and Rupert, we're going to start a relationship. Yes, absolutely. I think that's close. I don't know. I only heard a couple of videos.
Starting point is 01:42:41 You got it. You got it right at the end when you said, absolutely. Like, you absolutely was perfect. Severus Snape, yes. Dumbledore. Dumbledore was gay. Yes, absolutely.
Starting point is 01:42:53 I've said that many times. him and that's striking young gentleman quite a few relationship in hotel rooms their shit was rocked a few times together I know for sure there's a lot of the old wand to magic
Starting point is 01:43:11 putting a wand back in its case so to speak I didn't know if I should like stop or let you dig any holes I don't know when have you know me to stop digging holes man The wand magic was really a nice touch. I love the dog of Condra. That was good. That was good.
Starting point is 01:43:31 Hey, girl, I got that wand magic, you know. Stuff from Jersey. Tell us what you think about that invitation. I got that one magic, you know, come here, give me that. That's good. Give me that Patronus girl. What's that Amy Paul? Yommis, you know what I mean. Let me.
Starting point is 01:43:49 Loomis, that Pousay, you know. That Pousay, you know. Abadakadavad. Yes, y'all. Levy, oh, sit on this dick, you know. Oh! It's quite, it's a bit far, it's a bit far, not quite, it's a little more eloquence in what I'm writing, but that I understand.
Starting point is 01:44:08 Shots fire! Well, like, I heard the Levi-O star coming and then you're like, Levy-O-Sah, sit on this dick! Oh, man. It's a bit far, all right, quite fine, yes. Guess who is this? Anyway, let's move on. All right, Ace Money says Elizabeth Olson is an amazing actress.
Starting point is 01:44:30 I would suggest that everyone check her out in the show. Sorry for your loss. There are two seasons and she is amazing. Only problem is no one watched it because it was a Facebook original. Netflix should pick it up. One of the last interviews I did was with the cast of, for Clyde, it was the cast of that show. I pushed for that one hard.
Starting point is 01:44:50 Elizabeth and Kelly Marie Tranner on that show. And it was stellar, stellar, stellar show. And it's random Facebook original programming. But it's excellent. That person's absolutely right. Go ahead. It might have even been a little bit. Because I asked her about Wanda Vision while she was doing that show.
Starting point is 01:45:07 And there's a little bit of a crossover here when you watch her performance in that Facebook show and what you see you're doing in some of the more emotional moments of Wanda Vision. Go ahead. Alex. Paddington Milk. says, did you hear Shaq say that he puts Floyd Mayweather as the goat athlete over Michael Jordan and Tom Brady? Who is your ultimate sport goat?
Starting point is 01:45:28 Why Serena Williams not in every single person's conversation when they're talking about goats? You make a very good point, Steph. And Simon, was Simone Belas? Is that her name? Simone Biles. Stone Biles, sorry. She called out ESPN for that shit and ESPN took the tweet down. That was... It's crazy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:45:48 She goes, where are all these women missing? from that goat list and like, whoa. I honestly, out of the sport, it's, it's, it's, it's Michael Phelps for me, honestly. Wow. Okay. Hmm. I mean, just, just the absolute disrespect given to the William sisters, like, when you, when you talk about just the number of Grand Slam titles they have, they are one and two. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:46:14 Like, and no one talks about either one of them when they talk about goats. It's just absolute disrespect. 23 grand slams. That's just Serena's number. What Roger Federer, who's the guy in tennis, everyone talks about who I like can't put a face to the name, has 20. But and he's consistently talked about being the best in tennis. And it's just like there's no question.
Starting point is 01:46:38 But I would say athlete, I don't know. It's like I'm like a really big LeBron fan. I think like what he's done in the past decade is pretty two decades is incredible. Yeah, agreed. Jordan is always going to be mine because I'm of that time and I saw him play. And I've never seen anybody this side of Kobe be that ruthless to win. But I take nothing away from Serena at all because I mean, Serena, we've seen how ruthless Serena can be when she doesn't get her way on the court. You know, so she is driven to win just as much as Michael. It's just that, you know, Michael, just for whatever reason, I always gravitated to him.
Starting point is 01:47:16 because I always love basketball, but never take, I would never take it away from Serena either. You're right. And it's the idea, because it's people look at it like, oh, you know, and they're a bit sexist when they look at it and that, that certainly needs to stop. And I love that Simone called out. It's the same thing like, you know,
Starting point is 01:47:32 Serena got shit for like whenever she complained, but what's his name, New York guys and all the Adam Sandler movies. Johnny, uh, tennis player really loud. Mac and Roe. Oh, John McEnroe. Yeah, like that made his, career literally like he's still announcing.
Starting point is 01:47:48 Yeah. Absolutely right. Absolutely right. Yeah, the demonization of Serena Williams by her own like people, so to speak. Like the tennis community should be riding for Serena Williams. Tennis would not be where it is. I would have never paid as much attention to tennis if it wasn't for the Williams sisters. So if I'm them, I'm letting her do whatever she wants.
Starting point is 01:48:10 I'm changing the logo to have her on it. Like it's such a stupid misuse. She's definitely my favorite. I think in basketball, actually my favorite player to watch is Russell Westbrook. I think like, oh, nasty attitude is sick. And then after Nipsey Hustle passed RIP when he did 2020, that was like, what the, that's so sick.
Starting point is 01:48:35 I, uh, that's my boy. He's on the wizards now. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Russell is, he's awesome. Um, yeah.
Starting point is 01:48:42 All right. What's, what's next, Alex? Yankee boy says after the 14 years of the. Tati steal the Mets will still have one more year to pay Bonilla. Damn. Whoa. So he's got another 15 years, a million dollars a year. That's crazy.
Starting point is 01:48:58 That's smart. You smart. Degan says, Happy Friday, crew, super hype for war tonight. Doing a stereo recap of the PPP with Corey Cameron tomorrow at stereo.com slash Dagan SB. What are y'all's final predictions for the two matches tonight? I got Laura and Chandrew.
Starting point is 01:49:18 Well, Dagan, we answered that a little bit. We did earlier, but... Hope you enjoyed that. Yeah. Check that up. 50 Shades of Geek says, Laura and Mara for the way in hashtag smash Chandru. Thank you very much.
Starting point is 01:49:30 He also says, I think that person meant J.K. Simmons, not J.K. rolling. That's an impression I can see Roker be great in. No, it's... It's J.K. Roker. Yeah, J.K. Simmons is tough. There's a lot of talking inside your mouth all the time. do things Parker why the follows Parker not quite my tempo not quite my tempo
Starting point is 01:49:51 ha ha ha ha ha ha ha love that movie Big B says my album in high school was Cypress Hill three temples of boom tell yeah still in rotation fuck yeah fuck yeah and then 50 shades of geek says expellianus yeah definitely whoa definitely definitely definitely Definitely. Stap is now no longer with us. She is strictly thinking of expelliatus. Yeah, I mean, wow, you just sent me through my entire Pornhub search is Expellianus.
Starting point is 01:50:30 I've been looking for that video. So can you just drop it in the comments? Listen, we have five minutes left to the show, Ledge, Jim. We're only at $415. Come on. Somebody come through with $85 here right at the end. Get us over the line. Get us over that $500.
Starting point is 01:50:45 and the Super Chats don't count to the overall total, so please, somebody sent in the Stream Labs at $85. Get us over that $500 as we're wrapping up the show because we don't have any more left, right? Alex, we're done with all the Stream Labs and Super Chats? Well, I'm getting over to Super Chats right now. Jamon is asking, Roka, let's just say, who's your favorite of these actors?
Starting point is 01:51:04 Montgomery Clift, Gregory Peck, John Paul Belmondo, Peter O'Toole. Fuck. Those are also incredibly different. Peter O'Toole, I'll just say that. Go ahead. Gregory Pack! Come on! I act like this in every movie.
Starting point is 01:51:21 Oh my eye and it's so good. Okay. I just watched a place in the sun in Montgomery, Montgomery Clift is freaking, he's a good-looking dude in that. Hmm. I haven't seen that. He sucks. It's Billy Anus.
Starting point is 01:51:34 All right, go ahead, Greg. And a very talented person, of course. Oh, that too, is, of course. Jamon, John says, Steve McQueen or Paul Newman, who define the 60s? Steve McQueen. Paul Newman still went into the 80s. into the 80s and 90s. So I would say Steve McQueen. There you go. And that is all that we have for to, oh, actually, I just refreshed luckily. Let's see, let's see. It is from Fuckless and Westview.
Starting point is 01:52:01 Regarding Jesse Plymouth starring in Marty's next film while Leo and De Niro are supporting, I'm happy for Jesse as I think he's one of the best rising stars in Hollywood right now. I love him in Breaking Bad, El Camino, and Game Night. Hope this movie will not be three hours. He's also a tough in Judas in the Black Messiah. Yeah. Oh my gosh. I just watched that the other night. Oh, so good.
Starting point is 01:52:22 It's so good. I think, yeah, he was so good. I think he's got it. Like, God, that was the fact that he was only 21, too. Like, that's insane. Yeah. And that story is true. Like, if you've watched any documentaries on what happened to Freddie Hampton,
Starting point is 01:52:43 It's a crazy story that still had like based some of it put justice and not. Yep. I had Jay Washington on The Outlaw Nation this week because Jay grew up in Chicago and had a lot of Black Panther stories told through his childhood from people who were in adults in Chicago when all that stuff was going down. And so just wanted to hear from him what that experience was like as a young man hearing all those stories. So it's interesting, very interesting, man. A lot of, a lot of historical stuff needs to come.
Starting point is 01:53:13 Keep coming out. Let's not forget. All right, Alex, what's next? That was the last one, but I just want to say about Jesse Plemons. He's been working with so many great directors. He already worked with Martin Scorsese on the Irishman. But the thing that blows my mind is that he's only 32 years old. Yeah. What?
Starting point is 01:53:30 What? And he's been working so long, and he... He looks like he's been around a long time. Whoa. He has been around. But he just, like, it looks like he's been a part of Hollywood for a... I feel like I've seen him growing up my entire life. So it's just like weird to think of him as that.
Starting point is 01:53:48 But he had that Netflix show that was apparently really good too, right? Ben donated $85. Boom. I hope my donation don't break the stream this week. Thank you. Have an amazing weekend, everyone. Much love. Thank you, Ben.
