In a world.
No, I'm not going to do that, but I'm excited.
I'm excited.
It's been a while.
We've been working on this one.
One of our amazing members, patrons,
artist, extraordinary, wicked art,
has been working on this for a long time.
And that is a capes and cows comic book.
It's here, guys.
The whole thing is here.
Now, if you are a member or your patron,
you have access to this, obviously.
But there's a little bit more to this now.
What we're going to be doing is we are going to go through this entire run, this entire storyline.
We're going to get all of the dialogue from everybody involved in it with myself, Winston,
Koi.
There's a lot of great cameos and other things in there and people that you know.
And we're going to have some fun with this.
We're going to take the voices.
We're going to take the sound effects and music and all that.
And we're going to put it into one big episode.
that you guys can watch. Now, patrons and members will get access to it first, but then we're going to make it public. So this is so exciting. And the work that has been put in this by Wicked Art has just been amazing. So as you see, the art here, there's so much more. You can access all of this. If you go to Patreon or members now and you can check it out, it's available to all members, all patrons. But it's going to be a fun ride. So I want to let everybody know the Capes and Cowles comic book. Adopt, Adaptive,
is coming and we'll be excited to bring it to you.
Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen.
We are live.
Streamingard decided that wanted to work today.
So it means we have a show.
And we're going to talk about those Superman numbers.
We were going to talk about that yesterday, but we didn't get a chance to.
So we are back today after a ridiculous, ridiculous hiatus that was not warranted.
And we will get into that Wonder Woman, the Superman trailer, all that and more.
On the show today, it's capes and cows.
It's myself, Winston and Coy.
Let's do it.
Gentlemen, the Christian Hall-O-O-W-show.
It is Capes and Cowles, the edition where we talk about all things in the realm of comic book movies.
I'm excited to have you here today with us on this Friday as we start the weekend.
Joining me on the show, as always, Winston A. Marshall, Coy, John Droh.
Gentlemen, what's going on? How's it going?
Pretty good, man. I'm chilling.
It looks like everybody let me know.
I got a new polarized like filter for my lens to try and help with some of the glare I was having.
I think hopefully that fixed it.
It seems to hang this last light up.
It should be good.
Good.
Coy,
what did you think of that promo man for the Capes and Cowell's comic book?
I was about to say,
like I know we haven't done the voice work yet,
but hearing the music swell and like fill that energy.
I love the ad rolling.
I'm like,
yeah,
man.
I finally,
I read the whole book.
Holy shit.
Holy shit, bro.
He did so good.
Did you read it yet, Quay?
Have you read the whole thing?
No, no, no.
I want to like, I kind of want to not read the end.
I've read the beginning.
I don't want to,
I want to voice the first two-thirds so that I can like live the last act,
which sounds like me.
It's going to be fun.
The three of us in the beginning with those,
and like being able to like edit it and put the monster sounds and all that stuff
in there is going to be,
it's going to take a little bit,
but it's going to be worth it.
It'll be fun.
Yesterday was a disaster, guys.
Like there, we were,
I mean,
I had Mike and Step in the waiting room,
ready to go.
And I was clicking live and it wouldn't go live.
And I'm like, what's happened?
It's, is it my internet?
And it wasn't, but I went out of the room, which was stupid.
I shouldn't have done that.
But that's normally what we do.
You know, I drop out and come back in.
So I did.
And then I couldn't get back in the room.
And then I looked and it was like a site wide thing.
And the chat room was in there and talking and all this stuff.
And then somehow out of nowhere, it just goes live with just Steph.
Like Mike was like in, because Steph couldn't, Mike was in the room,
but Steph couldn't control.
because she didn't, she didn't have access.
She was the guest.
So it was just Steph on a phone call with me who called in because I couldn't get into the room.
And it was an absolute nightmare.
Deleted this stupid show off of the, off of it in general.
So they got screwed because right now in the competition, it's Chris Carr in the lead with 104.
104.
First debut.
That's good for a debut, man.
Solid debut for Chris Carr, who debuted on when.
Well, one of the things we were going to talk about yesterday, guys, that we didn't get a chance to, is the Superman box office.
We have me, you and Coy, Winston, have not talked about the trailer at all together.
Did Superman beat the Fantastic Four First Steps first day in ticket pre-sales?
This is which movie triumphed.
The Fantastic Four Steps and First Steps and Superman both broke records during their respective first day of pre-sales.
but which of them came out on top?
We have an answer and it was surprisingly close.
Tickets for Superman went on sale
and following reports that both it and the Fantastic Four First Steps
broke records during the respective first days of pre-sells,
we know many of you will be eager to know
which one of them came out on top.
According to box office analyst Luis Fernando,
Superman's first 24 hours,
including sales for prime preview screenings on Tuesday,
were 1.1 times ahead of Fantastic Four
first steps in the same timeframe. It's a small but not entirely insignificant difference,
and it's hard not to wonder whether the chance to see the movie a few days early is what gives
Superman the edge. Either way, it could be a close race at the box office for both movies,
which will only really matter for those of you rooting for one over the other. As Fernando
explains, let's keep in mind that the Fantastic Four kicked off pre-sales 50 days earlier,
while Superman did it in, did it 30 days earlier.
That also plays a factor here.
It's easier to convince someone to buy a ticket to see a film in one month
than justified to someone let alone casuals.
Why should they buy now a ticket for a film coming out in two months?
If the prime screenings didn't exist,
Superman would still come slightly ahead of Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3
on par with the Batman and 1.5 ahead of Captain America Brave New World's kickoff.
Remember, despite its disastrous run,
even that movie managed to open with a respectable,
is that 80?
Just 88.8.
He added.
Superman currently has the edge over Fantastic Four First Steps,
but we've seen many superhero movies open big,
only to plummet during their second weekends.
Positive reviews and strong word of mouth will be crucial for Superman,
especially as it's sandwiched between Jurassic World Rebirth
and the Fantastic Four reboot.
Same applies to the first steps as Marvel Studios
can't afford another disappointment after Brave New World and Thunderbolts.
We've seen some very ill.
box office tracking for both movies, but reliable estimates like likely won't drop until two weeks
before the respective releases. They come out two weeks after us. There's room for both, James Gunn
recently said, of the supposed competition between the movies. I love my friends at Marvel.
You can find whatever discussion you want to find online. I'll focus on all the positivity
around the film instead of getting sucked up in online fan wars. Fantastic Four set to release
in theaters on July 25th, Guns, Superman, July 11. All right, Winston, let's start.
start with you, man. So you got these numbers. I think in general what this says is in for both
Jurassic World Superman, Fantastic Four. It's just a good time for the movie theaters.
Absolutely. It's a great time for the movie theaters. Great time sort of for movie fans.
If you, if you got AMCA A list or some equivalent for whatever movie theater that you have,
otherwise, you know, especially when to see them all on IMAX, like just because obviously
you're not here anymore in New York, I went ahead and got the prime advanced screening for
Superman just to make sure I could get it on the earlier end in LA, that sent me $30, bro.
So that's the one thing that I think is actually interesting about the pre-sale thing one way or the
other.
It's not that it's for me a versus on all these movies, but the idea of what are people willing
to pay?
Are you actually going to pay to go see all three?
And so that it actually does become interesting and more of a competition of,
okay, I can only see one, maybe two, what am I picking?
Um, but I will tell you this much after that last trailer for Superman, I don't really have any doubt in my mind.
I think this is going to hit a billy.
A billy.
Wow.
I think so.
I feel that good about that last bit of footage that I was like, I think that they'll pull it off.
Yeah, that's hard.
That's hard for me to say yet because I still think it's, I mean, it's got a shot.
If it has, like I said, if it hits that 175, um, like they're predicting it to, then I think it's got a very good chance to do that.
I just, week two plus Fantastic Four, it's just too hard to predict a billion right now for me.
Sure.
Coy, you know, you see, we'll get into the trailer and everything in just a little bit,
but these numbers, Fantastic Four has got to feel good for the pre-sales.
Superman's got to feel good for the pre-sales.
Hell, they just put a number out for Jurassic, the new Jurassic,
and it's tracking it like 125 or 135 or something on the weekend.
So all three of those movies are going to be in good shape and summer looks pretty healthy.
I personally don't go to the Marvel theater.
I don't go to the DC comic store.
I go to the comic store and the movie theater.
So I'm excited for all this to kill, man.
I also love the gaps in Jurassic to Superman nine days.
Superman two weeks later, Fantastic Four, which to me means I'm going to get to see Jurassic.
And by the time I've gotten over that hype, get to see Superman.
And then by the time I've gotten over that hype, probably go into Fantastic Four.
And then a week later, I'm going to watch all three.
Like there will be a day that I will get to see.
to live my childhood dream and go like super drastic and that's so excited so to me this is a three
billion dollar month um i don't necessarily think it'll hit three billion by july's end because of how
late fantastic four comes out but i think we'll have three potential billion dollar films that
start in july which is insane i think potentially is is definitely true i just it's like
i think that any one of the three if they hit it like i said winston like if it turns out that super
hits that 175 i think you're going to be spot on that it that it hits that billion for sure like
because i just it's and and week two though i want to see what week two looks like is even what they
said with captain america hitting 88 and it's opening weekend you're like okay 88 it's not bad not
bad it should be solid and then it kind of fizzled out and we'll time and thunderbolts is another
one that needed a strong week two because we thought it would get a strong week two because of word
of mouth and it didn't and we'll discuss that story there's the thing that came out in variety
but this is a little different because it is July it's the height of the summer people want to go to the movies
people want to see some stuff and all three of these movies have very strong IPs all three of them are very strong
names somehow I have no idea how it keeps doing it Durasic world keeps making a billion dollars every
time it doesn't matter where everywhere every time four times now it tracks and we're like we saw the last one
so I'm saying I'm that's why I do not bet against it so it's like it's like it's
It's the one time that you do, you don't bet against it.
And then it says, all right, you know what?
I'm not going to make a billion dollars.
I'm part of the problem.
I just got my invite and I'm elated.
It doesn't look good to me.
I cannot wait to see it.
It's like, yeah, I want to see the movie.
I'm going to check it out.
But nonetheless.
What's funny about that movie is the experience of a Jurassic movie feels special,
even if you didn't like the last one.
And Scarlet Dohantan and Mahershala Ali at Cinemacon were the better trailer for me than the trailers.
So I'm still excited because of Gareth,
and all that stuff, but it's so funny that my brain
isn't watching the trailers again. I'm not even
replaying scenes. I'm excited because
of a brand. I feel like
I feel like I'm going to a restaurant I like.
It's truly, you look at the, here's the thing.
If you put hype next to
all three of these, clearly the hype
is Superman, I think, is the most.
Fantastic Four would be second.
Jurassic World would be third.
However, with barely
any hype behind it,
it's still tracking at $135
million opening weekend.
So that should tell you something.
Yeah.
I'm happy because, you know, if it opens strong beginning of July,
that allows for movies that don't do as well.
Like, it's all helping the theater industry.
So at the end of the day, as long as it's a movie that doesn't insult me,
I'm happy when anything does well.
So, like, I think this is great.
It is.
Now, as far as the trailer overall goes, it's funny because I think that,
contrary to popular belief, I really like the trailer a lot.
if there was a solid show. There's only a couple things that I didn't like and that I'm
concerned about. But overall, I do agree that I think that it just looks like a very epic, solid,
true to form Superman comic book movie, which I don't think we really have gotten. It's like
ripped right out of the comic books. It feels that way combined with a really solid emotion.
And we've talked about it many times over that we're just, let's see how the jokes are
handed out and in what context.
and I'm just letting people know, I don't go shit, what you think.
If I, if I, if I don't come out of that movie and I still think the jokes are too strong,
I want to say it, you want to bombard the comments, have a blast and, you know,
stick a cucumber in your ass, what do I care?
So, for me, I do, but the opposite goes.
With the rhyme scheme?
That's right.
The opposite goes that if I get out of the theater and the jokes work fine and it all plays
together, I'm going to say, look, it is a perfect balance.
That's my main thing.
A lot of stupid people didn't understand that what I was in it.
There's, you know, the scene.
And I watched, I watched all your reactions, by the way.
I watched Cois.
I watched Winston.
I watched all your reaction.
I watched Rocas.
No one got a big laugh out of the David Coren sweat.
What do you mean?
What do you think I'm doing?
I'm just laying.
I'm not laying around.
I'm just doing something.
Nobody laughed big at that.
Nobody.
And it made me go, okay, wait.
People go to, oh, Superman tells dudes.
Yeah, I know Superman tells jokes.
I know Superman can it plays some, you know, can play humor and he did it in the Christopher Reeve movie.
I get it.
What I'm saying at that point, when I'm watching that movie, when it comes out, is it going to be relevant to the scene?
And will I go, oh, no, that felt justified.
And that's my biggest point throughout it.
Does it feel justified?
A lot of dumb people didn't get it.
Some smart people did.
But like, does it feel justified?
I don't know.
Coy, you love this trailer, though, also, right?
Overall, yeah, I mean, every trailer gives me a little bit more of that sense of scope that I love from the art in good Superman comics.
Like, it's so big.
And so I've already, I already know I love the characters.
I've already talked to all the actors.
I've already had my experience personally with the making of the film, but I haven't seen the movie.
So every time I see a new trailer, I'm getting to see the finished thing to that point of the film.
And so like the sense of awe and wonder and the feeling I got watching the trailer, I also love that each one of these trailers gives us.
just a little bit more without giving a story.
It's giving us character moments,
but I still don't know the story of the film.
Like, I love that we got,
this one is basically Lex's POV.
The last one was kind of Lois's POV.
The first one was kind of Clark's POV.
And we still don't have a what Luther's plan is.
We still don't have a how to, you know,
Mr. Terrific and Hawk Girl and Guy Gardner relate.
Like all of that is still going to be in the movie.
So the fact that this is less than a month out
and we get to actually enjoy a movie
and we're excited feel special in itself.
And Winston, you had said earlier, obviously, clearly with the fact that you said it was going to make a billion dollars,
you thought the trailer was pretty special.
But what in general did you really like about it?
Because you're not a Superman guy per se.
I'm not.
I think the thing that's doing it for me is it's giving the vibes of what Superman is supposed to kind of like stand for and be,
which I think is, again, a massive deal when I think that there's something.
about having that kind of Christopher Reeve hope, like a lighthearted whatever is something
that's kind of missing.
I'm not saying that we need to go full tilt like a kid show or something like that,
but the idea of just having some sort of like positivity and not and still keeping it adult.
Like the scenes of like people from different parts around the world, I mean,
that was in the early trailers, but that little kid with the flag and all of that kind of stuff,
that still feels like we're in adult scenarios, but we're a little bit more positive
or trying to find the positivity type scenario,
and you're throwing in moments where the world is flushed out.
So seeing Guy Gardner be like, all right, Big Blue, you want to make a move, make a move.
Like that being flushed out.
Luther feels so authentic.
Like, Nicholas Holt feels like he's about to crush the hell of this role.
And we all said that before we saw him do anything.
I am just seeing all the pieces come together.
And that is, that's enough that my brains, the wheels are turning.
And I'm like, yeah, I genuinely think this is, this is, you're taking an IP, you're, you're maximizing everything about it that should be.
People are anticipating it.
This seems like a perfect storm for a billion dollar movie.
And I get it.
I understand.
I think that is a totally fair assessment.
I just, like I said, yeah, it's if, and the other way I'll agree with you right away every week one is if the reviews are off the charts, you know.
Even though it didn't really fare well for Thunderbolt, it's different.
It's different because this is also the hype behind it.
Again, bigger IP.
The trailers are just crushing.
But, you know, Coy, Winston mentioned Lex Luthor, and this was obviously purposely a Lex Luthor heavy trailer to show the power of Nicholas Holt and how good of a actor he is in general, but also to show this is the Lex Luthor that is the vicious villain that you know, even if you didn't work for the company, I'd ask you this question.
Smart move to really focus on this, right?
I think you built these trailers in a really specific way on purpose.
I think you need to introduce the world to our new Superman first trailer.
I think you need to introduce his most important person and his relationships,
Lois Lane and that whole building in the second trailer.
And now a month out from the movie, four weeks out from the movie,
you give us the thing we've been curious about.
What is this Lex going to be?
We had very little Lex in that first trailer.
We got a little bit more in the second.
I love this slow burn for Nicholas Holt.
He's probably the most marketed actor of the bunch.
You know, he's the most known actor.
Like that is kind of tradition in these Superman movies.
But saving him for last and letting him really flex and that malice and all those things.
I've said four months on this film, one of the things that's impressed me most is that when you talk to the three leads of the film, you hear stuff their comic counterparts would say.
When they describe their roles, there is an actual indignation and truth to how Nicholas Holt describes like, we're letting this.
guy do what he wants and he has all this power, is that safe? And it feels so authentic. And it's not
coming from a malicious place with Nick, but he can turn that maliciousness on with Lex. And I love that.
This trailer finally gave us a taste of that. So I think it's been really smart. I think it's really
going to surprise people because his favorite Lex is my favorite Lex. And I think we haven't had the
way I see the character since Smallville. So I'm really excited to see what a Rosenbaum influenced
to Lex Luthor with the talent of Nick Holt brings to us.
Yeah, and I think that we talked about this last week that, you know,
the rumored production budget plus the rumored marketing.
Let's say that the room in marketing is 150 to 200.
I'll tell you what, they're spending the dollars right right now.
Whatever they're doing, they're doing it right.
That means people are very aware of this movie, which they needed to be.
And hence why they're spending so much money on it and they have so much faith in it.
And this is like, you know, the golden child of the DCU because it's the most important one.
They're spending the money on it, Winston.
You know, they're really making this work A plus on marketing so far, A, B plus?
What say you?
I'll give it, I'll give it an A.
Okay.
I think, I think especially when you consider, I mean, again, it has working for it that it is a, you know, an S-tier IP.
No pun intended.
But I, but I think about some of the other marketing plans for other both, both,
IP is well known and IP's not so well known and how they just didn't do very well.
Like I, you know, Fall Guy, we talked about that, that very good movie.
Apparently an older IP, didn't know that personally.
I wonder if that would have actually helped in some form or fashion to mention all of that.
But I think about how that marketing, in my opinion, just didn't work well at all because
most of the people either didn't know what existed or didn't know what was going on with me.
I think it was a valiant attempt with spilling the beans on Thunderbolts into the new Avengers for your second weekend run.
But at the same time, that felt almost a little bit, little too late when you consider that the rest of the, I liked all the 824 marketing they were doing, but it clearly didn't pan out.
Like it wasn't enough to convince people to take a shot on it the way that they wanted to.
So I think so far based off of what we're seeing and again,
I think that it's an S tier IP is doing a lot of the heavy lifting here,
but I don't think they've made any wrong moves and how they've handled it.
And I look even to the point of reactions,
people like my channel is still very small and growing.
And I get gangbuster numbers for doing reactions to those trailers that other trailers aren't even coming.
There's interesting.
There's a lot.
You're right.
There's a lot of interest.
And it does.
It's funny sometimes, sometimes.
even if a movie does bad or a show doesn't do great but people that there's just
conversation around it like a little like the like the acolyte right accolite numbers for people
did well right but then you look at a show that people enjoy it i still haven't watched it but
skeleton crew that people enjoyed nobody watched the i mean reactions nobody nobody cared about
anybody talking about there's no interest mine that's tv that's tv in general thunderbolts reactions
out of the theater reactions things like that mid whatever let me see if this guy likes it even
does i don't know i'm going to see it superman is is one of those things people want to see it and having
gun behind it and the conversation has been around it this movie is going to be very successful i think
that if you're warner brothers and you're james gun right now you're you're you're feeling good
you're feeling good going into this you like it i'm really enjoying the fact that this feels like
not a marvel event it's got its own unique thing and fantastic four feels like a marvel event
we were talking about thunderbolts we were talking about cap we were talking about last years
lack of Marvel films and how none of it felt like a Marvel event. Even Deadpool, we kept talking about
how Deadpool felt like a Deadpool movie more than it felt like an MCU movie in the lead-up,
even in marketing. I haven't felt like we've had a Marvel event feel for a while, and Fantastic Four
does feel like that. I love Thunderbolts. I'm with Christian and probably Winston here thinking
that I will likely enjoy Thunderbolts more as far as my experience of the film, just from what I've
seen so far, Fantastic Four. But the actual event feel of Fantastic Four feels like a Marvel
release. It's so interesting how Superman feels different. This is a big summer event movie that
feels like, you know, grandiose and colorful and vibrance in different ways. And it feels like an event
season. And then I love the Jurassic Parks also like us too. And it's going to make all the money.
So there's like just an interesting feel in the marketing where they're able to make these tonal shifts
actually translate to us, the consumer outside of our work stuff, like outside of my specific
work stuff and our doing the show. It does feel like a summer event thing percolating right now.
Well, it's a good point also with, you know, Fantastic Four is another Marvel event.
And they've been like in fight terms, they've been the champ for a long time, right?
But there's a new up and come or new, there's like a new number one contender that looks pretty solid that people are like, well, I want to watch this person fight.
Like, and a well-known fighter, a fighter are you like, wait a minute, we've been waiting for this guy to pop.
We've waited for this guy to be the champ.
We've waited for this side of it.
Because the reason Fantastic 4 feels like an event is because, again, it's a
recognizable.
They've been around since the 60s, right?
Yeah.
So they were right for X-Men or Spider-Man.
And they really haven't popped yet on the big screen in a way that like Iron Man
and everybody else has.
So people want that to happen.
Plus you get the talent in there that you did.
I can understand why people are excited about it.
Thunderbolts, which again, we all liked.
Not a big, no one really, if you weren't.
If you're not in it, regular people, not paying attention to it.
Marvels, not paying attention to it.
A lot of this stuff on there, people just aren't paying attention to a lot of this stuff.
And so, Superman, they're going to pay attention to it.
It's another reason why I want to kind of jump into the next story where it comes to Wonder Woman and what they're going to next play is.
But before we do, go to the Clips Channel.
If you haven't subscribed to that already, or if you might be on the Clips Channel watching us,
make sure you leave your comments, your thoughts, all that and more on this discussion.
that we had. All right. Now I want to jump to staying with DC and kind of what the next moves are
going to be because when you get to this point, when you're a month out from your release,
you have a good sense of if people are excited to see your movie. You have an idea of the tracking.
You have an idea of the pre-cells, right? You never really know after week two what that's going to do,
but you have enough data that you can say, all right, what's the next plan? How do we start?
start to move? What calculations should we start making? And it looks like there's a lot of
calculations that are being made. James Gunn last week talked about Wonder Woman. He talked about
that he's working on a script. He was confident enough to say that publicly. He's probably
been working on it for quite a bit, but he said publicly now because of what I just said leading
into this. James Gunn's announcement of a DC Wonder Woman film being in development could be a positive
sign for potential new movie focused on the flash.
Recently, what seems almost impossible,
given the character's recent cinematic woes became a reality.
A new Wonder Woman film set in the DCU is under development.
Speaking to EW,
Gunn revealed a movie centered around Diana Prince,
separate from the previously announced Paradise Lost
HBO series was being written.
Wonder Woman's a separate thing from the Paradise Lost show.
We're working on Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman's being written right now.
Of course, a film being in development doesn't guarantee it will make
the screen. However, just the fact that DC Studios is working on Wonder Woman comes as a big
welcome surprise. Given the critical and financial reception of 2020's Wonder Woman 1984
and the somewhat confusing situation that unfolded between Gallaudot and DC Studios, regarding
the now defunct Wonder Woman 3, it seemed like the hero would not be seen on the big screen
for a long time. It's an exciting development and one that could also theoretically signal a positive
update for other major DC character, Best Man Alive.
The Wonder Woman announcement could bode well for The Flash.
The Flash has had well less than a stellar cinematic career.
His only live action iteration on the big screen was Ezra Miller's failed to garner much interest.
The actor's first appearance in the universe, Batman v. Superman, Donald Justice, was a disappointment, as was 2016 Suicide Squad.
2017, Justice League was largely rejected by audiences and ended up underperforming financially as well.
The character resurfaced in Zach Snyder's Justice League, which was relatively well-received.
However, things took a turn for the worst with his 2023 standalone feature, The Flash.
While receiving generally OK reviews, the Flash's reception wasn't ideal for what was supposed to be a monumental release for Warner Brothers.
The movie ultimately became one of the biggest flops in recent memory.
That paired with the multiple controversies surrounding Ezra Miller made it seem like the Flash would be pushed to the sidelines in a similar manner to Green Lantern following the release.
of the 2011 film of the same name.
Green Lantern was originally envisioned
as a promising new franchise for Warner Brothers
upon its arrival, however, the film flopped
and pretty much became the laughing stock of the superhero
movie genre. After that, the Green Lantern IP
had a difficult time getting another project
off the ground, though there were some attempts
to revive it for film and TV.
They never materialized. Now, HBO's
Lantern is coming our way, but
assuming the show releases in 2026,
it will have been 15 years since the
2011 Ryan Reynolds feature
for the Emerald Knights to get another
shot at an adaptation. The possibility of the Flash, meaning a similar fate, was somewhat reinforced
in December of 2024 when James Gunn revealed there would be some time before a movie about the
Scarlet Speetser Enter Development, stating as for the Flash, we're holding a beat on that
development. However, considering that six months have passed since that comment and that Wonder Woman
is getting another opportunity to shine, the prospect of DC Studios giving the fastest man alive
another standalone feature seem stronger than before, though his first film wasn't successful,
taking the character from a different, more approachable angle could allow him to connect with audiences
in a similar way that heroes like Spider-Man, Captain America, and Batman have in years.
Flash IP has a potential to succeed on the big screen.
So let's hope he's on track to receive another shot at making his mark in Hollywood.
Okay.
So the first thing I want to start with here is the Wonder Woman's side of it, right?
No-brainer.
It's what we were just talking about before, where you,
What you can't do is say, you know, let's do a lot of like side character DC stuff right now.
Let's do like some side character.
It's okay to do Clayface at $20 million.
Who cares?
Like Clayface at $20 million, horror movie, and then you're still introducing kind of the Batman world.
Fine.
You want to do Swamp thing for $10, $18, $30 million?
Okay, fine.
The big, budget, huge movies, you cannot.
You cannot lead with some obscure character.
You've got to go with the big three.
You have to go with Superman.
You have to go with Wonder Woman.
You have to go with Batman.
It's why like the whole Batman thing,
Brave and the Bold will start to take flight after Superman comes out.
It will.
You're going to hear a lot more information about it after those big numbers come in.
If Winston's right and this thing hits a billion dollars,
you'll see, even if it doesn't, as long as it's successful,
the Brave and the Bold is going to start to get a lot more attention.
So bringing in Wonder Woman right now,
no brainer. And I said this guy's recently
as where we were talking about like, obviously,
I like Brendan Scalnar to play Batman.
I think he's a great choice. I don't necessarily know if he's going to be
announced as Batman. I think they'll probably get somebody else.
I think he's the right choice for it.
But I am confident enough, and I've told you this,
I think you can kind of 95% that Adria Ajona is going to get cast as
Wonder Woman. I think it's going to be a lock.
but it makes sense,
Coy, to go with Wonder Woman, right?
And then how far, I will get to the flash part of this
after we'll give our thoughts on Wonder Woman,
but how far long do you think
before we get an actual announcement of a Wonder Woman movie?
I think the box office of Superman is important
to let the audiences know like, hey, we're entering a new era.
Hey, we need Superman to be front and center.
And I think while riding that wave,
but not at the top of that wave.
makes sense? Like I think it's going to be like, let this be its own thing. But while it's still high,
we're going to get something. I don't know what it's going to be. I honestly don't. But I do think
it does make sense to have Wonder Woman be the next wave if that's being developed. I honestly
don't know. But to me, the Holy Trinity is important. And I think Batman is always in the limelight.
I think Batman is for a reason. I love Batman. He's one of my favorite characters all time.
But we do have, and I think it's still going to be both, we do still have Pattinson's Batman, and I do think there's going to be a DCU Batman, but there is a lot more Batman recency. Even in the flash we're going to talk about, that had two Batman. So I do think three, if I'm including, I do think we need to give Wonder Woman her time in the sun in a different way. And I think Audrey Arhonia is incredible. I think that she is perfect from so many different standpoints. And I think it'd be really cool to see that 300 years of metahumans kind of fleshed out through God, like, anything.
like Wonder Woman and utilizing a strong female character that even, you know, the most
annoying of misogynists like, like it's a good, safe, strong, intelligent character that even
the dumbest bros don't yell Mary Sue about.
But you have, and you need her.
You need it.
You got to have her because you're going to lead up to because, well, this is the other thing,
Winston.
So James Gunn recently said that he's working kind of on a Superman sequel, but not a direct
sequel right so people had said um world's finest is essentially what it could be and where i guess
kingdom come is where it's too it's too late down the line right he's kingdom coming superman's old
and older i think maybe but either way let's say that they're building up to something where it's
like or it's justice league whatever it might be you can't do any of that stuff without wonder woman
right uh you certainly can't do world's finest without batman because that's that that that duo there
And nothing would piss me off more if we immediately jump to that because that is literally the mistake that the DCEU made.
Right.
You went directly from Man to Steel and instead of focusing a little bit more on Superman and then worrying about doing one of the greatest team ups or rivalries in history like for that particular story.
Same thing.
Don't jump into Justice League.
Don't do any of that.
But you need to focus on your Holy Trinity.
The reason, nobody's saying you need to emulate Marvel.
But the reason why a team up like the Avengers worked is because you didn't focus on,
hey, the Avengers, you're like, this is an end goal here.
But I have an ABCD that I need to get through first of let me do an Iron Man movie,
see if that works.
I mean, I got this Hulk movie coming out too.
Let me see if that works well enough.
Put out another Iron Man movie.
Put out a Thor movie.
Put out a Captain American movie.
And then you considered a massive team up.
Like to go, it's kind of got to be the same thing.
It's not to say you can't have bleedovers here and there, which I'm assuming we will
probably see Clark and Supergirl.
like that that seems like a no-brainer um but you need to build up these individual characters
to build up to that big moment if you try and rush the big moment you will end up in the
exact same position as you did last time i agree with that i think that that is he didn't and to be
fair he didn't say what it was but but that is the big issue i remember that i remember that i remember
on Shmoh's when they announced it like,
well, the next thing we're doing is Batman be Superman.
You're like, why?
Like, let it build because at the time
they were chasing, they were chasing Marvel.
That's, that's why.
I don't feel like they're chasing Marvel.
I don't feel like they're doing that now.
I think that's a huge asset to the way they're building this universe
is they're consciously trying to not emulate certain things.
Like, it feels like making it clear the post-credit scenes
aren't going to be just teasing the next thing.
They could sometimes, but always,
making it clear that this is already established in universe 300 years of metahumans,
making it get clear that this is a world where Superman's here
and there's all these other characters already like in motion.
That's all very not how the MCU started.
So I think it's a conscious choice.
I think it's a really smart choice to not chase the past or the present,
but to pave your own way because comics have lots of blueprints on how to do this right.
Yeah.
And so if you put, I think that what's going to happen,
it seems like if you're matching up how they're trying to come up with a list,
Again, let's say Superman crushes.
They're happy.
Okay, now they're like, let's go.
Day after they realize the kind of numbers, the big numbers, what it's projected,
how it's going to keep doing after week one, week two comes out.
They're like, okay, here we go.
Here's our plan.
Boom.
Supergirl obviously is already shooting.
That's the one next out the gate as far as films go.
We get Green Lantern, which I'm very curious how they're going to combine that true detective
tone with what the hell's going on with Guy Gardner and that ridiculous haircut.
but we'll see how they play into that because he shows up in Peacemaker where I think he belongs
in that tone.
That works.
So can they make that work in the Leonard's tone?
We'll see.
But nonetheless, you start to build, okay, these are the building blocks of this.
Then the question is what comes next, right?
We know that there's going to be that series through the Amazon's.
But I do think that Wonder Woman will be announced at that point who she is, the actress-wise,
and I think she'll show up in the series at six.
some point and we'll lead up to the next big movie and I'm not I'm not including Swamp Thing.
I'm not including Clayface. I'm talking of the big movies. I think we get Wonder Woman
before we get Batman Brave in the Bowl. Even though it's in the development. We just have,
do I think we should? Not necessarily. But I do think that. Now as far as the flash goes,
which is really where that dove into, I think that once you establish the big three,
that's the next one that you go with.
You got to go with him.
I think that people want to see that and people want a good Flash movie and I think it will play.
But Winston, do you think they should leave Flash alone?
You think, no, you need Flash.
He's one of the, he's one of the staples.
You need him eventually.
Right.
I don't know.
Like, and there is a, there is a desire to have him around.
If you need proof of that at the bare minimum, you know, I know the CW was doing their own thing.
but that show ran like nine seasons because the character and the character surrounding him are interesting.
So no, you need the flash.
Yes, there is still some kind of stank on it right now based off of what happened with the movie that we got.
But that doesn't mean that you throw the baby out with the bathwater.
I think it just means you just take a step back and let's develop other stuff that didn't have time in the sun right now,
but that can help kind of set stuff up.
And then you very much find a way to get the flash involved.
too good of a character, too many interesting stories, too vital to the DC Lifeblood.
Like, yeah, he definitely will be back, but just, I would say it probably needs to happen post Batman.
Get Wonder Woman and Batman done.
You've got Supergirl coming.
Finish all that first, and then let's let, and lanterns too.
You have lanterns coming too.
Let all of that play out.
And then we can talk about the flash.
Yeah, I agree with all that.
Boy, you know, one of the things I've seen in the comments here too, which is a very fair point.
they're saying, well, it doesn't
need to be flash after
Batman and Wonder Man. It could be
Aquaman because we need a new
Aquaman movie. And the only
reason I would say no on that
or not necessarily
no, but why they wouldn't do it
is because they want to probably get away
and spend as much time with
Jason Mamoa as Lobo.
Let people forget
about them as Aquaman as long as you
can because it's so
fresh end, even that second movie.
Out of the three movies that came out, the Shazam 2,
ate a big pile of duty, so did,
and Flash obviously tanked.
Aquaman 2, which started out looked like,
oh, oh, another bomb, made its money back
because the power of Jason Mamoa, as Aquaman,
the first one made a billion dollars,
as where the Flash hadn't, didn't have any success at all.
So wouldn't you want to replace that and say,
don't worry about that version we had beforehand with the Flash.
Well, you know, like, good.
I think Aquaman is going to be different enough that he's a little less, you know, in a tricky spot than Flash.
I think Flash should be different because the way Ezra Miller played him was a mix of kind of Wally West and Barry Allen.
I think they should like the lane.
I would also go with Wally West and not Barry Allen for this new take.
So we get a different.
Wally's a little bit more fun-spirited.
I love Barry Allen.
I think he's great.
He's altruistic.
He's very, but like I think a fun, younger, a little giddyer flash might be a way to erase.
the flash feeling.
But Aquaman, Jason Mamoa was a very, very good Jason Mamoa with now.
I think he's going to be an incredible lobo because that's the role he was born to play.
I think if we get a more traditional Aquaman, we can do that sooner.
And it's interesting how they're building this out.
This is the very traditional members of the iconography if they do the Holy Trinity,
but also Supergirls, super iconic.
Green Lantern, super iconic.
I hope my facial hair notwithstanding green arrow is soon.
because you want to use the keys and then sprinkle in those $20, $30 million like deep cuts that James Gunn likes to do.
Like James Gunn is a nerd.
He made peacemaker a household name.
So I think we're going to get kind of a one big couple small, but the budgets will also be small.
And that's a great use of TV and smaller film.
But I do think they're very systemic and systematic in how they're green lighting the big ones so they can build to something.
I would rather they, before they jump to Aquaman.
man, I would rather they give another major name that hasn't gotten time in this son at all.
Cyborg.
Do that?
Cyborg is an interesting one.
I actually was going to say Marshall Manhunter.
I think that especially knowing that that was kind of teased and stuff like that,
I think just who he is as a character, James Gunn understands.
His own movie?
I think so.
Because I don't know where you would put him necessarily with a TV show per se.
I just think that lands in the, to you guys know,
but I think Marsha and Manhattan lands in the obscure.
I think he's a, I don't have a sports metaphor here,
but I think he's like a cusp kit.
Like he's right on the edge of mainstream awareness.
And he's a great character,
but I do think they have to build to that.
Like maybe he'd be good as a supporting character in.
But I can see, but I can see like, I don't,
I'm not saying that that's the very next thing,
but if he's talking about writing a Superman sequel,
I can see you introduce Martian Manhunter in,
Superman 2 and then that gives an opportunity in a vehicle for him to then have it to launch him into his own movie.
If you're talking about eventually, sure, but I think the plan that you need to do is up top.
You've got to go for like we all agree on the first three, right?
It's Superman.
I mean, they're going to do Supergirl first, but Superman, Supergirl at least has Super in it.
So we will know what it is.
And plus she'll be in the movie itself and a billion dollar movie perhaps that she'll be in.
and then people will want to see it.
So that's smart.
Then you got to go either Wonder Woman or Batman.
Let's say Wonder Woman Batman, right?
And then after that, that's the conversation.
I think you got to go if Aquaman,
we'll give the comment section the win here.
Aquaman, Flash, Cyborg, right?
And that's because those are the name.
And even like, those are the names that people know.
I just don't think Winston,
as interesting as he might be,
I just think everybody knows.
I get it.
I guess, and probably that's me leaning maybe too much of my nerddom, but I genuinely think that it has a decent shot for a couple of reasons.
I mean, one, the Martian Manhunter having been used recently in a number of things, both the Supergirls show and stuff like that, but more specifically that the old school, I guess it's old now, it's fucking 25 years old.
Jesus, sorry for the F-bomb.
But the Justice League cartoon, like that made Hot Girl and Martian Men on.
right more popular household names because of that cartoon i see you lost you lost me at household
name uh but like when when it when it comes to like awareness between people who are watching
those shows and people like comic book people and fanatics 100% household name is like in you you
you walk around the street and you ask somebody like hey do you know this character is i can
guarantee that i walked outside right now if i walked outside right now said hey you who you know
you know the flash yeah it was it was hyperbole on my part but i
I mean, it's close enough to, I'll put it to you this way.
The way you would talk about, the DeKoi, close your ears, the way you would talk about, like,
particular, like, NBA players where there are the LeBron Gages and the Steph Currys that are
legitimately, those are worldwide names versus, like, you could potentially say Aluka
Donchich and enough people will go, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, I know who that is.
Like, you know what I mean?
That's what I think of when I think of Martian Manhunter, where he's not, he's not LeBron.
He's not even remotely close to that kind of sphere, but he's in that super superstar category
that enough people would know who he is yeah well we'll agree to disagree on that one that's fair
we'll agree to disagree on that one um either way though i think that everybody is an agreement that they
need to focus in on those big three guys throw in your comments what say you after wonder woman
and batman because we i think everybody is in agreement that's what should come next should they
gentlemen the one of the things we didn't really talk about winston had mentioned it to which i agree
you can't just jump right into a world's finest or anything too but if you establish those
characters in the way that like marvel did you know you jump to that first avengers movie is
world's finest the first one that comes after you do it a solo wonder woman movie a solo
a solo Batman movie and then you can lead to world's finest or should they just have
another strategy put your thoughts in there let us know all right before we go before we go before we
move to the next comment uh our story can't get my thoughts to it right
but I did it.
That's where I'm at.
Let me tell you about Turtle Beach.
Let me tell you about Factor, and they'll be right back.
So it's Turtle Beach time, and I'm excited to talk about them again.
Man, that Stealth 700 headset that I got, poohy.
The sound was playing the Indiana Jones game.
The sound is just so it's like, you guys know how I am with sound and movies in general.
Playing this game and hearing every little bit of sound because the headset is just so incredible.
It just does, it leaps and dives in.
bounds better than previous ones that I've used. But you know, it's funny when you're playing the game and you're so
just taking in by all the sounds because the headset is so incredible. I was like, oh, wait, I'm going to pay attention
on what's going on. I'm going to get popped by one of these bad guys. And the other great thing about
it's got an 80-hour battery life. I was like, oh, I've got to charge this thing. It's like, no, not yet.
You got, you got time. I mean, you could. You don't have to. And that's the worst. When you're
playing a game, you're doing something with the headset and then just craps out. And you're like,

Really appreciate the support.
And we were loving it.
Coy, I told you, man, I told you it was going to be dedicated,
and going four days a week to the gym.
I haven't stopped. Four months now, four months in.
You're over the hump. Now it's a habit.
Now, you're not wrong because even my buddy who I've been going with,
he wasn't available this week to go. And I was like,
I just went on my own 11 o'clock, just went, just did it.
And it was great. Have my music on.
It's awesome. It's like, it really.
That moment is my favorite feeling of like,
I like the moment where I'm like, oh, this is autopilot,
it even more than I like the moment of abs because I'm like, oh, I can live this way.
See, the problem for me on the flip side of it, because you're right, it's all about the habit
element of it is if I was going to make it work like a habit, it's best to go the same time
every single day.
Yeah, that's true.
And so the issue is that means I would have to get up at like six to be there at like
630 or 7 just based off how my schedule works.
And everything about that sounds horrible.
But that's ultimately where it comes down to.
And I had that exact same thought.
but the question is, and then it's one thing, and that's just what's important.
Absolutely, because that's the thing.
I get in there.
You love kids.
Yeah, I, yeah, that makes it even.
But maybe that's even part of it, though, is if you know, they're going to wake me up in 30 minutes anyway.
But I guess you go at 11.
You go, or you go.
I go, yeah, I basically come in.
I shoot a couple of videos.
I do what I have to do.
I take, I've now, because I've added more hours in my day to when I get home,
I have now been able to subtract a little bit during the work.
That's why we had to move the show.
to 2 o'clock. But anyway,
um,
Factor is a great reason why it's been helpful.
It's been easy, you know, on a pinch,
you'd be able to have some,
some good, good eats and it's been helpful.
So anyway, uh,
that's good news for me.
Bad news for Marvel.
Thunderbolts.
Lost millions of dollars.
Didn't matter how good the reviews were.
What does Marvel do next? We already know what Marvel does next.
You've got two,
a bunch of movies coming out.
Hell you don't.
Um,
Rebecca Rubin says this on Variety.
Days after Thunderbolts hit the big screen,
Disney CEO Bob Eiger was feeling celebratory.
He publicly touted the comic book adventure
as the first and best example of Marvel's new strategy
referring to the film's positive reception from audiences and critics.
What a relief.
Following a bumpy few years and a string of poorly reviewed misfires in the franchise.
Six weeks later, Thunderbolts has cratered at the box office,
371 million globally.
It's one of the lowest grossing installments in all,
of Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe. If this is the second coming of Marvel, the superhero empire
might need another reboot. Marvel's calculus has changed, says Sean Robbins, Fendango's movie
analytics director. We're in a new era where not every Marvel movie is going to hit a billion
dollars. Since the MCU's inception with 2008 Iron Man, Marvel has been Hollywood's most consistent
hit maker. It's also, it's also the highest grossing film franchise in history with $31 billion across
36 films. A billion dollars per movie shouldn't be a barometer for success, but before COVID
scrambled things even less beloved insoluments were guaranteed a certain level of box office. Pre-pandemic,
19 out of its 22 films cracked at least 500 million globally. Since then, the once Teflon brand
has struggled with commercial consistency. Starting in 2020, just six out of the 13 films have
reached a half billion benchmark. At least February's Captain America, Brave New World,
and 20203 is the Marvel and Ant Manna and the Wasponamia could blame their disaster grosses on terrible reviews.
Thunderbolts had enthusiastic word of mouth, but it is yet to climb out of the red, suggesting there's a new ceiling for superhero movies that aren't based on marquee characters.
A diminished global marketplace and oversaturation of superhero stories on the big screen and small screen are partly responsible for the decline.
Audiences habits and taste have shifted.
This year's biggest blockbusters have kid-friendly films like a Minecraft movie and Lilo
stitch or original fanfare as sinners.
These lower tier comic book movies aren't cinematic slam dunks anymore, says Exhibitor Relations
analyst Jeff Bach.
Thunderbolts wrapping up after another month in theaters is also a concern.
Films aren't lagging out like previous iterations.
It's coming at an inflection point for the MCU after inundating viewers with complex
interconnected stories across film and television, Marvel is intentionally slowing down
on focus on quality over quantity.
Is there an incentive to back stand-alone stories that are no longer safe bets?
or will the studio only green light sure things a la the Avengers or Spider-Man?
After July's The Fantastic Four First Steps, another cinematic introduction of sorts.
Marvel seems to be embracing a go-big or go-home mentality.
The upcoming calendar is populated only by heavy hitters with hefty budgets.
Avengers Doomsday and Spider-Man 4 in 2026, Avengers Secret Wars in 27.
An entitled film is set for July of 27, and X-Men and Black Panther movies are in the works.
but other projects that focus on one character like Blade have been stuck in protracted limbo.
What's been working for the MCU is major teamups like 2021 Spider-Man No Way Home,
2024 is Deadpool and Wolverine, or sequels to series with a series,
such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which made 955,
Thor, Love and Thunder, just watch that shit piece again for my rewatch.
That's up now with Sam, we put that out together.
Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 and Black Panther, Wakanda, Forever.
made 859 for that Galaxy, Gardens of Galaxy made 845.
Marvel used to thrive on the unfamiliar when Kevin Feigey was assembling a cinematic universe
in the early aughts.
X-Men and Spider-Man Marvel's best-known characters had been licensed to other studios.
Yet he created an enormously popular property by introducing Iron Man and Thornd Stadalone
Adventures and then bringing them together for the Avengers.
Those victories emboldened Feige who placed bets on Dicey or comic book propositions,
such as Guardians of the Galaxy, which paid off spectacularly and expanded the franchise.
But after too many confusing spinoffs and lackluster sequels, audiences seem less invested in new additions to Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Our Rodney Jr. can't return each time the MCU lands in dire straits.
If the studio wants to replenish dwell with new vigilantes, it needs to spend less on origin stories.
But belt tightening is getting harder at the cost of everything from actors pay to visual effects to catering as drastically risen.
And turning these movies into Can't Miss events requires huge promotional dollars for globe-trotting press tours and premieres.
Marvel reigned in spending on Thunderbolts,
aware that its characters held from the pandemic
hobbled Black Widow and underseen Disney Plus series.
Typically, the studio temple cost 200 to 250 to produce
and another 120 to market.
Thunderbolts was slightly cheaper, costing 180 to make,
and closer to 1 million, 100 million in marketing.
Studios are working hard to bring the high end budgets down.
This is David Gross.
We're going to see less spending over the years of the pandemic.
Finally, still, Thunderbolts needed to make $425 million
To break even, a figure that seems unachievable, Marvel is unique because it's not as encumbered as rivals by the profits of losses or single films.
The company can recoup some losses through Disney Plus and other home entertainment markets to say nothing of the massive revenue streams from merchandising theme parks and cruises.
And every film between Avengers installments can be viewed as a marketing tool.
Case in point, Disney revealed the motley crew of reaffformed baddies and Thunderbolts will return in Avengers Doomsday.
If audiences miss that chapter, they can always catch up on Disney.
real quick, I want to go back up because, as I said in the beginning, I was like,
Rebecca Rubin, that was an excellent, excellent job.
It was an excellent article.
As much as I, you know, in the beginning said where they go next.
I understand what you're saying.
But it, that is a, that's very well, very well written.
And I think that I agree with, I think, 99% of that article.
It's like, the main thing is that where they go from here is that they're going to go
and they're going to focus on Avengers, clearly,
the short things, they're going with Spider-Man.
People, the problem,
they shot themselves in the foot
with all the stuff that they did on TV.
They shot themselves to the foot.
They also shot themselves with the idea
that everybody will watch whatever they do,
no matter what,
and they weren't really listening to the audience anymore.
They just weren't.
They were saying,
let me leave all of everything we do now.
Let's just, we'll put whatever out.
Did not work.
And 180, by the way,
they spend a little less than normal.
180's too much for that movie.
Way too much. I love the movie. I love Thunderbolt.
I was one of the better quality movies.
And I still think it will be the best quality Marvel movie out of everything out.
So far this year as far as Marvel goes.
But it's too much money.
So, Coy, you know, you hear all this and you see what they should do.
I feel that it's going to go into, look, let's knit.
We're going to hit with Spider-Man.
We're going to hit with the Avengers movies.
Then we, the three of us have been talking about this for about three years since.
That's when we started, Caps and Cals, by the way, I just found out was three years ago, which is great.
It's been three years?
Years.
So that means that we were doing the rewatches four years ago?
No, no, no.
I was in the same.
Remember, we started, we only did the rewatch.
I just thought we did the rewatches for like a good half year to a year.
About six months.
So we do about, we, August will be the first Caps and Cals when we, but nonetheless.
us. We've been talking about that long. Coy, once they finish this multiverse and get it out of here, X-Men is the play. And that's, you're going to, these kind of types of articles shouldn't come out anymore if they do X-Men right. I'm so not worried about Marvel in three years. I'm worried about what Marvel needs to do to maintain or grow the brand back over the next three years. I think Fantastic Four is an obvious great step if it does well. And the reviews are,
strong as the trailers. Because my things with the Fantastic Four that I don't like her personal,
like the connections I have issue with isn't the average viewer. Like my connection to human torts
can be different than other people's. So I think the movie's going to do well. I think that's a step.
And then they've got Spider-Man. Then they've got two Avengers'nome. So I think we're good,
but those need to really hit on the road to X-Men. And they can't keep having things come out
like Thunderbolts, which is exceptional. I really love that movie that don't do well. Like there is a
point where the brand needs to have the commercial success as well as the critical success
after after after after like it can't have one and one anymore i mean we read the stats a second ago
like the number of hits they've had like it's so far above the average there's still a very very
solid brand but the people that love it are always going to be like um you know a little quieter
than the people that hate it so they need to be uh undeniable for a little while because the loud
idiots like people that watch shows like this that don't like marvel i don't know why they spend
their time doing that but those people need to be silenced by just quality and until we're there
consistently they're going to have to make articles like this but i think x-men's golden winston
yeah i i think you both a what you need right now we were talking about it with superman and how
that's that's a good starting point and then you bring in wonder woman and batman you you you need
your kind of s tier ips i think x-men is that that's what your next step is and we we've made a very
very clear that that's the direction that we're going.
So sure, Robert Duny Jr. is coming back in to help write the ship with these next two
Avengers films.
And then you have the perfect handoff to one of the more popular IPs in superheroes, period,
to kind of shoulder the load going forward.
So, you know, I think that that is what you need to focus on.
But, Coy is 100% right.
If you do not hit it with that quality,
it doesn't matter.
So the main thing you need to focus on beyond all of that is quality.
Yeah, it's got to be the quality of an inskey.
I mean, even though the quality of Thunderbolts was there,
at this point, it's like what we were just talking about before,
the IP for that was not.
It just was not.
And it also goes back to what I was saying.
Florence Pugh is an absolutely incredible actress,
super likable,
and carried that but she was great in the movie great she's not a major movie star yet she just not
she's just not like in the way that do people know who she is sure do people flock out to see her
movies they don't she's not a major movie story she she has every manhunter is what you're saying
maybe she's got the tool she's great and i thought that i thought she was good enough in that movie
that could have made her a movie star but nobody one saw it it wasn't like people like oh you know she's like
in the way that we talked about like, you know, when someone like Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Gosselin being cast in Star Wars, right?
Ryan Gossling has not been, he's got everything about him.
He's got movie star looks. He's got great. He's got talent. He hasn't been in movies yet.
Oh, it's a Ryan Gossom movie. I'm going to check that out. I can't, you know, Ryan Gossin is it. I'm going to see it.
That will be the case when he's in Star Wars. That will be. People will go, oh, it's a Star Wars movie with Ryan Gossi? That's cool.
I'll go check that out.
He elevates it that particular way.
But a movie that if it was,
if it was, let's say,
Fantastic Four, Fantastic Four
with Florence Pugh? Oh, yeah.
I'll go check that out for sure. That's great.
But Thunderbolts, they go,
what's that? I don't know what that is. I don't know what that is.
New Avengers might have,
might have been the way, maybe they should have done that.
Maybe it gives away the end, I know,
but maybe they should have.
And I say this as someone who really enjoyed the film,
and which leads me,
The last thing we talk about here is, as they mentioned the article, I think streaming is, this is going to be one of those movies.
People are going to go, oh, man.
This was really great.
Yeah, they're going to go, that movie was really good.
I think it's going to do very well on streaming.
I think it's going to do very well on streaming, and I think it's also going to be one that people look back on as formative.
Like, it'll be, you know, oh, I wish I'd seen that in theaters because of how much it influenced this or, oh, man, that's so crazy how it set up this.
And, I mean, I hope it finds a cult following, if not the, the, the,
following it had. I'm glad it didn't lose so much money that hopefully they don't write it off as a
failure. Like losing money is failing at the business side, but it's so good. Hopefully it still,
you know, begets the team more work. Hopefully it still establishes a tone and a style we want, but, you know,
learn what things didn't work in the marketing, learn what things didn't work in the build. But,
I mean, this director is seemingly, fairly along the path towards X-Men. And I think one of the
things Marvel needs to look at is keeping some things all ages, but also keeping things,
some things for adults. I think Deadpool did really well for a reason. I think Thunderbolt's
tonally suited a lot of people for a reason. So obviously you want to keep it PG-13 and available
to all ages, but I do think tonally we need to look at things like Blade and like darker
elements going forward. Yeah, Winston, is that a risk now because like Corey just said that they
said, hey, there's studios and executives, they do this all the time. They look at, they don't really
go internally and look at what happened leading up to it. They go, oh, nobody wants to see that kind of
stuff. I always use Obi-One as an example when it's like solo comes out like, oh, nobody wants
to see movies anymore. Cancel that Obi-Wan series. It's like, no, people did want to see that.
They did. It's not just a matter of one circumstances. The way that that was presented and the
circumstances of the way release and yada, yada, is that a big risk that they're going to go less
into this and they'll just do? You know, then we're not going to take any big risk anymore?
certainly a fear
I wouldn't
that that is certainly something to be worried about
because it's one thing if there's enough stuff already in the pipeline
already done whatever whatever that you go
oh we finished it we already paid for it so put it out there
but that is certainly a fear like I mean
that's essentially what we've talked about with Superman
if Superman isn't successful
that they pulled a plug on absolutely everything
yeah
it is it is it is certainly
something that I'm worried about.
I'll be honest.
But
I think
just by the nature of when you see
enough kind of shining light stuff
that's still getting through
right now, that they're not
going to willy-nilly just like kind of
cancel on shit. They're just going to probably be
a little bit more cautious. And instead of
green lighting, three or four of those types
of ideas in a certain series, you
might get one every
five major IPs. You know what I'm
saying like it's it will be it'll be much rarer but it'll still happen i also read an interesting article
about mission impossible how um it doesn't have to make as much money one to one as like a first
movie or even a sequel because every time mission impossible comes out it elevates mission impossible
one two three four like those movies apparently mission impossible one makes something like 10 million
dollars every year of mission impossible comes out and that kind of balances cost and it was a really
interesting article about franchises having that sort of thing so
looking at Thunderbolts, losing 50 million, I do think it raises brand awareness. It keeps the
conversation going. It might make enough on streaming to balance that 50 million out, but it also
elevates other things. And then when Avengers comes out and it's necessary, people going back to
discover it. So I think there's different movie math than ever. It's not one to one anymore. It's not
make your budget, make your marketing, make your blah, blah, blah. It's, we've gone from like algebra
one to algebra two. There's a lot of abstract math now. We've got to figure out. What's say you
guys what does marvel do next how will thunderbolts become one of those movies it just becomes a
massive hit on streaming will they continue will they make some drastic moves that they
may not have to as far as quality goes will avengers and x-men do so well that it
fills in the the money lost for thunderbolts fantastic for same thing put your thoughts in there
let us know all right now it's time for the questions
guys are in good shape. I think this is the first time,
because we have, we've had what?
I think only, did Roxy win three in a row once?
I think Roxy won three in a row once. Is that true?
Maybe. I think so.
If you guys win today, you'll at least, you'll either tie or leave the first to do it.
And currently, normally, normally if you have like 35 going into a question of the thing, you're in good shape.
You guys have 66.
Hey.
Oh, black Jesus.
You're in good shape. You're in good shape.
So before it, real quick, before we get into the questions,
Coy, what's going on in your channel?
At 46K, I've stagnated a bit.
My number of growth keeps going down, which hurts my soul.
So please get on over there.
When we hit 50K, I'm going to do a 50 comic giveaway.
I just saw 28 years later.
Can't talk about it yet, but you bet next week when I put my review up that I've already
filmed that can't use yet.
That'll be up there.
Also covering all sorts of comics every single week and going to be covering Iron
Heart, if that's your cup of tea in my page as well.
So seeing F1 Monday, that review coming, lots of movies,
lots of TV, lots of comics, go subscribe.
At the Swaggy Blurred on all the platforms, man.
I'll be live a bit on Twitch.
So come and hang out this weekend,
and I am in the middle once we wrap up here.
I've got work, but I am editing a nice little theory.
There was one of my videos,
it was what Zedric Banger was just bringing up the idea of,
you know, what is Sam's Avengers team?
Because we get at the end of Thunderbolts that he's suing
the Thunderbolts. So what is his
Avengers team that he's put together? So I've actually
kind of laid out a fun theory as
to what I think his team is.
And that should hopefully be done by this weekend. Worst case
scenario by Monday. All right. So make sure
you check out the guys' channels.
Links are in the description for that.
Okay. So the good news for the
people who put the questions. And there's only one
that streamer decided
you're decided they didn't want to show.
And that's Chris Malick reacts. He said
you also need to show. Oh, no,
that's different one on. Mark Long.
hope everyone has a great Friday 28 years later Jurassic Superman and Fantastic 4 it's going to be a fun time all movies that I'm looking forward to I mean even Jurassic I want to watch it in the theater to be honest
I want to see I'm hoping I'm rooting for Jurassic I just another monster of the week type thing yeah but 28 years later I'm excited to see it I'm supposed to see it next week oh Monday or Tuesday no Tuesday see it on Tuesday Monday I'm supposed to see F1 so it's
the premiere. This just shows you, A, and only premieres. B, it was Elio. I'm going to see Elio,
and I know F1 is, it's on my most anticipated, but I wrote to the studio, I was like,
are you doing any more press screenings? Because I really want to, I want to give some love to
this movie, Elio, if it's good. You know, I really do. And I want to, and I want to try to see
everything. Plus, I like to review the stuff that my daughter could potentially see. All right.
Connor Moles. Corriegian Wilson.
it.
Connor Mullis, Christian,
guess what juicy and delicious treat I mean to you right now?
I'm going to guess and say the same that you said was
watermelon,
but it was what you were eating last week.
I assume it's the same.
Connor Mullis,
guess what are going to do.
It's for everyone,
not just kids.
Yes, it is.
It's delicious.
All right,
go pal.
It's unclear to me.
If yesterday's show is canceled for technical difficulties
or just disappeared,
either way,
support, since I'll be out again.
Now, it was,
it was Streamyard.
Streamyard was,
and I just I could not leave that up on the channel.
It was a disaster.
It was like poor Steph is just trying to navigate with me and Mike on speaker phone.
It was the worst.
It was the worst.
It was just terrible.
I was like,
there's no world that,
and I almost said to PLD and Luke,
I was like,
how dare you guys even let that sit on the channel?
The two of them let it live on the channel.
And I was like,
I didn't say anything,
but I was like,
I just deleted it.
I got rid of it.
No one said anything to me.
How do you leave that up there?
Terrible.
Go pal.
If,
if Coy or,
Winston have bond thoughts. They can chime in whether Omega spoiled the reveal of Aaron Taylor
Johnson by naming him in a brand ambassador early. I do think that's what it was. Omega usually
is the watch of James Bond and that's their thing. And Aaron Taylor Johnson has been strongly
rumored. Aaron Taylor Johnson may or may not have been fantastic in a movie I may or may
or may not can talk about until next week. But the dude's on a tear. I do think it is likely.
and then this Omega thing felt like I put it over the edge.
Those are my bond thoughts.
Hey, is he in 28, 28 years later?
What if he's, yeah.
Beagle Studios.
I honestly can't see a Justice League with Corrin Sweat, Superman,
Sclanar's Batman, Ojonas Dina, having Cameron,
Manhattan as Wally West.
Wait, I honestly can see, sorry.
As Wally West, Pierce, Green Lantern, Isabel's Hawk Girl,
and I think he's Mr. Terrific.
I mean, what a cast, that would be.
That'd be a fucking crazy.
Sorry.
Hey.
Yeah, I'm on one today.
I apologize.
That's crazy.
No, I ain't talking to big balls.
I've seen what he did in the comic, bro.
He's crazy.
He's crazy.
That's going to be to do with step.
Oh, man.
That's going to be.
It's going to be so people, I mean, by the way, people, you don't have to wait for that.
You want to read the whole Capes and Cal's comic book.
Every member, I mean, today, by the way, we'll get to it in a second,
And both DJ Case and Derek Johnson gifted a bunch of people memberships.
You all have access to that comic.
You all should read it going into it.
Tyson's Chicken Nuggies.
I'm going to be driving two hours to my nearest IMAX in July just to see Superman.
I love that.
I haven't been this excited for comic movie since No Way Home.
I can't wait.
Hashtag look up.
I think that that's kind of a, maybe Winston and you probably, you might be right, man.
Might be right.
I also want to give credit to this gentleman saying he hasn't been this excited since No Way Home.
and has a Deadpool Wolverine
and is more excited for Superman.
Yeah.
DJK's,
give the 10 memberships.
Thank you very much.
Tyson.
Support to my favorite Friday crew.
Winston's belly laugh makes my day.
Poise and enthusiasm.
Keep me going.
And thanks, Christian.
You shut your ass is not part of my daily vernacular.
I love that.
Good.
Everyone should be saying,
shut your ass.
It's the best.
DJK is throwing some support in there.
A lot of support.
Okay.
104 to tie.
We're 77.
67.
Corn Emperor.
Congratulations on a working show.
Love you.
The worst.
It was absolutely the worst.
Armada.
You all heard that Wayne Peanuts to an elephant song?
I don't know what any of that means.
You guys know what that means?
Wayne Peanuts.
Is it a little Wayne thing?
A new album come out.
It's not good.
Sorry, Alamo.
Not good.
I know what that is.
Sorry, but casual phantom.
I was weary from the,
humor in the 20 oh it is it's it's way it's little wayne peanuts to an elephant okay no casual
fandom i was weary from the humor in the 2021 food side trailers angel splozing joke for example
but ended up loving the movie is that is that suicide squad i assume hoping for the same
i don't know i don't remember it i don't know i think that's what you're talking about the suicide squad
the suicide squad i assume he's talking about um hoping for the same that's that's that was my point
that I was trying to make is that let's see,
and I made it with crypto.
I could come out of that movie loving crypto.
I don't know any context yet,
except what I've seen in the trailers.
I got to see the whole thing.
I got to see how they use them.
Scott Harwitz.
So we've seen four versions of the death of Superman,
two animated,
one TV,
one movie.
Is it time for a good Batman nightfall slash night quest adaptation?
Three part animated movie sounds perfect to me.
I like the death
The Death of Superman
Two movies I've seen
I that the animated ones
I'd love to see Nightfall
I think Nightfall is like a very
Huge it's a big story
So I'd love to see it adapted into a three-part animated
Batman I think has the most animated of anyone
But there are some key storylines we haven't gotten yet
That'd be cool
Winston
Nice
That is that air on you
That is such a long
pause for such an like yes no like do I want it just forget it I'm sorry I can't
I'll leave you with unquote and some support try your best to stay sucker free in a world full of
lollipops Derek Johnson always dropping the knowledge
Derek Johnson with the bars and the support the best Scott Harwitz so we've seen four
versions oh we did that already that that makes sense I went up as opposed to going
down more support from Derek thank you Derek look at Derek Derek
there are coming in real hot okay this is another one Ira Benson del Rio
spaceball and Superjet how great was that teaser it was so I was so mad because
that was one because Steph hadn't even know what it was he hadn't heard
that it was announced and Mike I think kind of we were going to do in didn't
see the trailer so we were going to react to it yesterday on the show and then the
show into poop. But how great does that
does that look? Dude, if Melkowitz
directs the greatest comedy sequel at 100?
That is
one of my top five movies of all time. I love
that movie with all of my heart. I am so
excited about it. And the fact that that was
how he announced it
made me go, oh, he has not
missed a step as far as this.
Because I know that the
oh my God, what
what's the sequel they did
of his, like a
year or two go, wasn't very good.
Um, hold on.
I'll figure it out.
I can't remember the name even off of them.
Is it the one,
um,
history of the world?
Yes.
I heard history of the world was good.
I heard part two.
Part two.
I heard,
I heard it wasn't very good.
But I'll,
I'm curious how they're,
how they're going to make it work.
Especially with him at 98?
Yeah.
Shake,
he's almost 99.
He's 90.
He'll be 100 when the movie comes in.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Shakespeare fist at Lewis Pullman.
Next time I,
uh,
interview that guy.
When I asked him about if he would be in space balls with his dad, he's like, oh, I don't, I don't know.
Clearly he had already signed a day.
He's been a beautiful for ice.
But now you got a clip.
No, 100%.
That'll be fun.
They need, he has to name it the search for more money.
Yeah, so, I mean, he raved about it when I talked to him about.
He raved about space balls.
So, yeah, next time I talk to him, I'll bring that up.
Armada, Wyn and Koi saw Wutang and run the jewels in Tampa.
such a great
concert, y'all should go.
Also, Riz's new movie he directed
It looks cool too.
Nice.
We're playing LA in the 22nd.
I am trying.
I'm very jealous.
I want to see Wu-Tang before I die.
Yeah, well, you think that good luck
because they're going to,
I think they're done after this.
Everyone retires a few times.
You're right.
You're right. Casual fandom became a YouTube movie.
Thank you.
Again, anybody who became a member today,
make sure there's two things you should definitely,
well, three things you should really take advantage of them.
Read that comic book.
Right? That's part one. The whole thing's done.
Two, take advantage of the exclusive live streams that we do.
Three, the unedited reactions.
I mean, that's just, that's just some of us.
That alone, not for the membership or being a patron.
DJK is more support.
Derek more support.
They're trying to get you to that win.
Can they do it?
Can the guys do it three in a row?
Abby, Malik becomes a new YouTube member.
Thank you, Abby.
Armada.
Have you ever confused Farts with Thunder?
Who just told me about, oh, no, no.
Yes, it's yesterday.
And Chris Carr said that the dog farted and they thought it was an earthquake.
Yeah, some like that.
Luster Barnes,
I wonder if the reporter Lex is referring to in the trailer isn't actually Lois,
but it's Clark.
Every new piece of promo gets me more hyped.
Oh, that's interesting.
The only reason why I immediately jumped to Lois, though,
is because of the previous trailer where she is like grilling him in an interview.
Yeah.
And I did like that clip that they shot.
It is.
And I did like that clip that they shot.
I didn't wish I didn't see it,
but it was scrolling on Instagram and I saw it.
But when she makes fun of Guy Gardner's hair, I love that.
I've avoided it.
I'm sorry, I just brought up for it.
Mike's movie madness.
So Mike's internet crash stream yards, right?
I always blame Mike.
So yes.
Sunday, Joe, happy Friday, jents.
My wallet will be crying by August.
But here's the thing.
Will it?
Because this is the point of why movies really,
some do very well
and some don't do well at all is because
if you're spending that kind of money
to go see three movies
in July and all
three of them deliver
chances are you go
money well spent I enjoy that you regret it
but if you walk out of it going what a piece
of crap that thing was for all three
of them then you feel like your wallet will be
crying I honestly
think I've been working on
reframing like money
is to live and
I obviously the world is rough right now and the dollars worth five cents but I've been trying
to reframe like if I had a good time was it worth my money not I have no money and this to me is
a summer of like one I've got a list so it's the same no matter what but two even if it was individual
like what abundance of riches no I agree with that and see I'll tell you that was the one thing that
hurt my soul is that I the fantastic four fan event is obviously a little bit earlier than the
Thursday previews and they're like not not a list you got to drop 30 dollars a say kiss my
behind and then I'm see I'm watching it and so I went and have to wait on that but then
Superman for the prime stuff just had to show out $30 it was terrible yeah it's but again but
it'll probably worth it it it'll be worth it the final Superman trailer was the best agreed
it was the best trailer so far and it came out of nowhere DJ case was some support DJ case
was some support uh
Sunday Joe, Superman has perfect casting.
Any doubts about David, watch the series Hollywood.
I just hope the story is well received, but I trust gone completely.
He's right, guys.
You know, the story is going to be, the spectacle will get everybody in week one.
The story will get them back week two.
And David's amazing.
Dude is incredible.
Tim, I've been watching NBA Finals on ABC.
NBA Finals ended for me when the Knicks lost.
I haven't watched it.
Not a single second.
Not a single second.
I because not a single second you couldn't care less I've been watching a
file's only receiving Disney own why doesn't why doesn't Marvel play Fantastic 4 in the
commercials and such what will marketing pick up yeah that's because like if if not
free they do based off of various like laws and all that kind of stuff it's still
severely discounted it's it is dirt cheap for them to do that I don't know why they
they don't especially because typically the NBA is known
to do that team up with whatever major blockbuster that summer.
So I'm actually very shocked that the Fantastic Four did not capitalize on that.
Yeah, especially it was an ABC.
Yeah.
True.
Yeah, and apparently the Pacers were up to one.
Good for them.
Buster Barron.
Man, that lasso of truth scene in the Flash was painful.
I didn't mind the movie, but Ezra's Flash was such a loser.
Yeah, Flash is dorky, but he needs charm.
I actually thought Ezra, like I said, in a lot of the,
the stuff that Ezra was doing wasn't the best, but the stuff in the flash, the stuff with his mom
and other things, I thought worked. I still say the beginning, the end were the farts, but the majority
of the movie, I still, I still stand by it. There's a lot of good movies, a lot of good moments
in it. I agree. The stuff with the mom is great. I actually enjoyed the back to the future
logic conversation. I thought that was really fun.
Yeah. Michael Keaton stuff was great.
Mm-hmm. But, but yeah, there's, there are definitely reasons to be frustrated with the movie.
Definitely. I don't, but I don't, you know.
Armada. Lex is giving me Philip Seymour Hoppin vibes from Mission Impossible 3. Yeah, definitely.
That's my favorite Mission Impossible, so I love this take.
Ah, DJ Case, throwing in some support there.
Getting the guys closer. Avi Malik, big one there. Thank you, Abby Malik.
Hey, Christian and crew, Avi here from Bangalur, India.
been watching since the AMC days and have followed your entire journey.
Thank you so much, Hobby.
Big fan of Winston, Koi and the whole team, you guys make the Nerdspace fun.
That was very, very nice.
Very, very kind.
Not only do I appreciate becoming a member and saying such nice things, it's very nice.
I was supposed to also remind me that I was supposed to, there was an interview that I'll be doing it on Monday.
There's an interview of a new movie that's coming out.
It's a smaller budget movie.
It's a $300,000 movie, but it's got some really good people in it.
And I got the director on and one of the stars on.
I was going to play it yesterday.
But again, crap went down.
It just wasn't relevant for this.
But I'll play it on Monday in the Roker show.
Casual scroll post credit scene in Superman revealing the DCUs Batman.
Not the actor in full costume, but something casual like Clark and Bruce getting coffee in a diner, discussing Damien for Brave and the Bold.
Pass Theo James.
I love the Theo James.
Oh, that for Batman.
I think it'd be a great bond.
But I think that it's Aaron Taylor Johnson.
I don't know what the post credit.
It's tricky.
Superman's obviously got a lot to do to set a precedent.
I think setting the precedent of MCU as post-credit scenes might not be the move.
I already said that.
He already said it recently.
Yeah.
So like I don't think they'll go this route.
I think it's a fun idea for a Marvel style one,
but I don't think DC is going to do what Marvel had done because that kind of put
Marvel in a spot.
Yeah.
I don't think they're going to do that.
And I think Wayne Enterprises or something like that might be mentioned.
I think Wayne will because there's so many billionaires
the movie like stag and lex
the only post credit that they need to
focus on if they're going to do something like that
which is supergirl that's it
Avi I'm currently on a career break so if I only have time
to catch your live streams more often love hearing
that looking forward to hanging out with the community
and diving into all the great geeky discussions
with you all same here man yeah this is great
like please I love
we've met so many great people through
the chats and everything too and seeing the
community kind of going back and forth and Chris Carr
afterwards sit to me she's like you're
Chad is so nice.
I was like, for the most part, yeah, like 90,
95% of them are pretty, pretty great.
Tyler, five.
I like Monica Babaro as Wonder Woman as well.
Is that?
She's the girl from the, the,
Bob Dylan.
Yeah, the Bob Dylan flick.
She's got such presence, man.
Like, she is so impressive.
I don't know if she's got the stature,
but she's got present.
5.7.
So is A.J. O'O.J.O.S.
She's 5.7 also.
Yeah.
Oh, really?
And this girl's got such incredible presence.
Yeah.
I mean, look, she got the look.
And the other person that apparently, and I didn't read the article,
but that there's casting rumors swirling already,
Alexandria Didario was another one mentioned.
Oh, is that, okay, I just opened up Monica's IMDB.
Alexander Dodario is a good choice too.
I just opened up her IMDB and they have the trailer, I guess,
for Fubar too with Arnold.
And she's actually kind of a badass in this little opening teaser.
So, yeah, I did.
You didn't get cast and then one less?
Noah S.
Think the new Mr. Miracle
show will be in the DCU.
I don't know, but I know it's now my number one
most anticipated new show.
It's literally my favorite DC comic
of all time, and Tom King is the writer of the comic.
He's show running the show.
I don't know what that is.
Jay Anderson.
After watching all the trailers and TV spots,
I think the thing missing for me is how
awe-inspiring Superman is.
This Superman feels like Ragnarok Thor
and a clown instead of a superhero. See, I won't go there because even though the comments in that
my reaction will tell you otherwise, I don't think he was cracking jokes the whole time. I think for the
most part, he's pretty, he's pretty stoic, pretty serious, and, you know, and he'll crack jokes as Clark
and he'll be a little sarcastic and things of that nature. I have no issue with that. I don't,
I disagree with you, Jay. I don't think he looked like a clown at all. I think that he, like I said,
my biggest thing is the when is it necessary a is it necessary to have him say it at that moment
maybe the answer is yes b is it necessary to have teeth flying off of a camera besides just
being a stylistic fun thing i just i was just about to bring up i thought it was like the only
thing i actually heard people truly complaining about was the teeth thing which i
thought was fine in the sense that i would have to make i would venture a guess that that is not a
Clark that started a fight with Lex. Lex clearly has done something to really piss him off and
do some stuff. And then that's, that's just, yes, it's a stylistic choice, but like that's where
that feels like that's coming from. He's probably at his limit. And we might even be seeing a
moment thereafter to be like, yo, rain it in, bro. But I don't think anybody has a problem with
the moment that I'm knocking teeth out. I think they're- Oh, no, no, no. People were like,
that's not Superman. Superman. Oh, really? People have lost their mind over that. That was less about, for
me punch his teeth i don't give a shit but like for me it's it's more about um it hitting the camera and
saying oh this is a this is a movie but ed harrell yesterday said this and i hope that this is the
truth and it very and very could be what if that shot is a news drone and that shot and that shot is a
news drone and that shot is the camera you're supposed to be looking at the camera and then it hits it
Okay, that's my point with context.
You see it and you go, oh, I get it.
Oh, okay.
Now, after they're breaking his chops a bit about doing and sitting around,
then he threw that in there at that point.
I get it.
I'm just telling you from what I saw off the trailer.
Avi, super pumped for Superman.
I can't wait to see what James Gunn delivers.
Any idea when the first out of the theater reactions are expected?
And when are you guys seeing the movie?
These your thoughts.
Expect to see more of me.
I can't wait to see more.
Avi, thank you.
So I haven't gotten screening for it yet.
I know that they're coming soon, but it's usually around a week or two before the movie comes out is when you get it.
So again, with Christian not being here, I have, I have somebody that works at Warner Brothers.
She said that she will try, but I didn't want to bank off of that.
So I went ahead and got the prime screening.
So mine will be out July 8th that evening when I'm done.
Right.
And I actually don't know whenever the embargo allows me.
Yeah. Derek Johnson given 10 memberships. Thank you, Derek.
Just kidding. Derek gave 10 more memberships.
Give it 20 so far.
Eric.
Yeah.
Danielson. I want both Marvel and DC to both be competitive every year at the box office,
but MCU needs to stop with identity policies and get their head of their ass and stop pushing away masculinity.
Hey, this is one of the things that I think there's a way to sit to,
it depends on what you're talking about.
You can say things that way.
And you're just going to come up, hold on.
What are you talking about in general?
You've got to have some specifics because there are times because Koi's ready to leap on
you right now and shoot your head off.
I'm holding him back first.
Because you can, because I don't disagree.
And Koi and Winston agree with this also, by the way, that there are, and we've talked
about it many times over.
There are times, not Marvel, not just Marvel, rather, all studios decide,
hey, you know what everybody wants us to do right now?
and we don't want to get yelled at Twitter, so we're going to do this, right?
Look, look, we represent everybody.
Look, see, guys, see, see, see, see.
That happens all the time.
And sometimes it hurts the cause by doing it.
There's other times that you say, hey, I lead with a story.
I do this.
And by the way, and this is something too, identity policy, get their head of their ass and stop pushing masculinity.
You didn't say that with Tarantino when he put Uma Thurman and kill Bill one and two.
Did you?
No, you didn't.
Because she kicked ass.
It worked.
It made sense.
When it makes sense, when it works, it's great.
So it just depends on when you're saying, boy, I'm also just kind of curious.
I mean, like, even just thinking about like Thunderbolts, like I was thinking about John Walker.
That's a great point.
John Walker is sitting right there.
Bucky is sitting right there.
I don't know what we're talking about.
That's why I asked them for examples, because if you're talking about Thunderbolts, you're wrong, right?
You're wrong.
Perfectly matched.
I think that there was like again, I understand that maybe Captain America Brave New World had some issues, but everything about that movie, there was a lot of masculinity in there.
I'm genuinely trying to figure that out, Deadpool and Wolverine.
I don't know.
Right.
You don't have to explain that to me.
My only input is I've been critical of like things like the human torch who needs to have a certain bravado and like a masculinity.
And I've talked very publicly and openly, especially on like long form podcasts and I do think a certain masculine.
McKizmo is missing from movies today.
But I think when you say phrases that are dog whistles,
you're going to sound dumb as shit.
It's the problem of putting it that way.
Like,
I think maybe you weren't meaning to,
but if you're going to say,
you know,
stuff that belongs in other corners of the internet,
we're not going to respond like intelligently.
Well,
we'll respond intelligently.
The question is,
it's harder when you're putting it in a super check.
Yeah.
If you're trying to debate it in a way and you put it that particular way,
you're making a blunt statement that is,
not really, or a brash statement, rather, that's not, like Winston and Coyd has brought up,
what do you mean exactly? That's the question. What do you mean exactly?
All right. Derek Johnson, give 10 more memberships. Derek, that's 30.
Oh, wow.
Prussian. Jay Anderson, Cavill's first fight sequence in the first man of steel trailer made me feel
like I, like I can move a mountain. This marketing has fallen short for me, unfortunately.
So this goes back to what we were just talking about with the previous comment.
Jay Anderson, saying, like, he's done up for him.
he's a matter for him in general and he's saying when I saw that movie that's how I felt this one not working for me I think that's more than fair to say first teaser I'm gonna go and watch that when we're done because I'm just curious because I haven't it's obviously been a very long time but cool you disagree with the statement obviously but you can appreciate the way it's I love that someone is saying language that is reflecting their experience and even not being aggressive about it and and I think that's what's beautiful about these movies and these characters like I actually a great
example, I personally like Christian Bale about 20 times more than Michael Keaton's take on Batman.
A lot of people in my generation love Michael Keaton's Batman. I don't think Michael Keaton's Batman is
wrong, but I think I like one more. And if people come out of this movie liking Man of Steel
more, that's not going to make me think less of them unless they start being vitrolic about
they're liking it more. So all the respect. Marcus M. I think James Gunn is working on a Superman
versus the authority script. Oh yeah. Is the authority like a live action?
or is that animated?
It was announced and then never
moved forward with confirmation beyond that.
I assumed live action,
but that would kind of go with his quote.
I'd go away from that.
I'd get away from the authority right now.
Let's see.
That's from Marcus M.
And then DJ Case coming in.
Ten more memberships, guys.
40 membership day.
We had, I mean, more than that, 50 because we had,
DJ Case did 10 earlier.
So that's 50 new members that we've had in there so far.
Please go and read.
that capes and cows.
And the other thing that I didn't mention
beforehand that you should.
And PLD, why don't you do this now?
Let's put a...
We always have the questions that we do for the live streams.
As a member, even if you can't make the live stream,
you can ask any question that you want.
And we do like a full Q&A, and he always asks for questions.
And sometimes we get a bunch.
Sometimes we don't get enough, and you guys take,
take advantage of it.
Noah Sparks, when and how should the DCU introduce Green Arrow?
I think Green Arrow.
I think Green Arrow is a big enough character that he can headline.
Like Arrow lasted forever.
It shepherded in a lot of stuff on the TV.
I think he's a character that is not as well known as like your Holy Trinity or even Flash,
but I think he's close.
He's like, you know, right there at the next level.
And I think I would personally love if there's going to be so many characters that are solo endeavors,
I think Green Arrow, when they made the show, they made him so much like Batman because they didn't have the Batman rights.
It very much felt like they were like,
we've got a green Batman.
I think they should lean into more of his philosophies about, like, being Robin Hood effectively.
Like, he's so aware as a billionaire.
They need to lean into those sensibilities.
And I think it'd be cool to do that by also having him already in a relationship with Black Canary.
I think the sensitivity and heart of Ali will separate him from the gruff persona of Batman in a better way.
So I would do a Black Canary Green Arrow combo.
And that'd be kind of nice to see some actual romance in a comic movie.
be like pursuing with Lois and Clark.
That might sell, bro.
I think like, if you were going to do, like that's also how you maybe like pull in
the ladies, you do like a rom-com between Black Canary and Green Arrow, but it's like a
serious-ass movie.
But like the two of them, like that could be interesting.
You know what I want?
True lies.
Green egg.
I will give me a Mr.
and Mrs. Smith, but with Green Arrow and Black Canary.
Mick Horn. Hey, fellas, Christian. We'll be showing Sam Werewolf by Night as a double feature with the Guardian's Christmas special. I will be showing the Guardian special because that's kind of, I think it's important and it leads into Guardians 3. It's like it's, it's relevant to it. We're one episode. We got through eight episodes of Shee Hulk. We're one away from finishing it up. So we just finished Love and Thunder. That's up now. Then Shee Hulk is next. The only reason I did Shee Hulk is I think she's going to show up in the.
the Avengers and so I wanted Sam to to know where I love where we'll find night by the
great it's great has no relevance yet and I want to finish MCU with Sam I wanted to be
finished especially but we with the live show on on August 9th in New York and I'm hoping that
you know first of all I'm hoping that you all come out and join us that would be nice but while
we're what I wanted to finish that whole thing up wanted to be done with the series
the MCUs so by the time you know and i just like by the way i will say this she saw daredevil
in uh she hulk she loves daredevil she's like i said i said everybody wants you to watch
the netflix series she's like let's watch it and then i was like we're going to be watching
daredevil for another three months is is each it's 13 episodes each season i'm like well
we'll let well i want to get her to to the xman movies i want to get her to the nolan movies i want to
get out of the Lord of the Rings.
If I watch Daredevil with her, which doesn't have any relevance to the MCU right now,
it just doesn't work.
And so the same way that, like, Whirlope by Night, no.
You could also do it, like, Christmas.
Maybe.
Like that'd be fun to do as like a special.
Yeah.
And it's like, and it also, again, doesn't have any fellows.
We're not watching Echo.
We're not watching Secret Invasion.
No, we're not watching.
There's one, maybe two good moments in all of Secret Invasion and the rest of that.
just not doing it and only not watching agatha because i watched it with sadie already we already
did the reactions to it so i'm told her to watch that on her own so yeah what number are we at
currently at 91 91 currently all right let's see what what we're so close what are we trying to get to
what 104 oh 13 to go gang yeah uh mick horn Winston sending you an overdue welcome to the valley are you digging
it. Hey, thank you so much. I, yeah, I lived here for a long time. I lived here for six years,
seven years. Um, so it was just convincing, uh, my better half that, hey, it's not that bad.
Trust me. And so the real answer is she actually is very much loving it now. She was,
she was skeptical at first, but she's fully into it. So I'm happy to be home. I love that. Okay. So
next one is Tyler Fifer. Man Hunter is more true holiday. It's more of a true holiday.
Clay Thompson. We'll call him a Clay Thompson.
Space Jesus. Which actor do you think would fit in the DCU?
That's, that's, that's telling. I mean, I keep saying the two, Arjona and, and Skunar,
the two that I keep mentioning.
Boring answer, but it's, but.
Yeah, I mean, I think Andre Aronia is so perfect for one building.
What do you think, with you got anybody in particular?
Specifically, I don't know, Paul Giammati. I don't know.
You know what I want to see in the DC?
I'll get a different answer.
I talk about him all the time whenever I fancast.
Jonathan Tucker, man, that dude needs to be like in movies.
And I think he's got like a crazy superhero bill, these intense.
I think for doing big, larger than life comic book movies, you need intense actors.
Jonathan Tucker.
John Boy, Boy, he go.
He'll be good, too.
Boy, it would be good.
Mike Joyce, Marvel will be just fine if they remember low budgets are for everyone.
I agree, Mike Joyce.
That's true.
A little budgets are for everyone.
That's good.
The amount of for everyone that I got in the comments are good.
Bad stream yards is for everybody.
Someone said,
Space Jesus, which actor.
I did that one too.
Oh.
No, it's another space.
No, that's a different one.
It looks almost exactly the same.
Come on, man.
Which actor could you see Batman in DCU?
Same answer I give.
You guys?
Oh, you know what?
The other one I give is Josh Hernandez.
just a little bit older that's the only problem it depends on where they're going with it
if like so if you're going for an older batman josh hartnett if you're going for early 30s mid 30s
brandis snore older older older batman jillian hall younger or or mylo ventimilia older um milo's
good milo's good right i see it i see him mourning his parents um younger i don't know a lot of the
next wave of like 20 somethings
Yeah, I know. It's tough for Winston, you got anybody?
I mean, I still, it's not going to happen, but I still like Alan Richmond.
Yeah, I think he's too big. He's so big.
He's huge. He's more, he's more absolute Batman. He's absolute Batman.
He doesn't have Batman be bigger than Superman.
But that's part of why I almost think you can't is because the idea is just like, I'm a human.
I'm doing everything in my power to keep up with you, bro.
Yeah, true.
Mick Horn. Boy, beef jerky makes for a perfectly acceptable breakfast.
old DC studios pod discussion what your favorite brand mine is people's choice from LA
I get whatever flavor at Costco is new like I like Costco distate my my jerky habits
this is a running joke because everyone at DC thinks I'm crazy because we shoot early in the
morning and I always get there and I get a black coffee and two bags of jerky and that's my
breakfast but I'm trying to lean out so I need a high protein black coffee breakfast
but everyone thinks I'm insane because I'm just housing protein first thing in the morning so
thank you, Mick. I agree.
Hey, man, hard-boiled eggs,
protein powder and or protein
like bars and stuff.
Beef jerky, bro.
You just want a heartburn is what you want.
That's true. Joe for show.
Seems like way down the pipeline, but you guys
have anyone in mind for the DCU Joker.
Oh, man. That's going to
take a while to get there.
You're telling me I need to go and find
who is the current Heath Ledger right now, who's
like flying under the radar. I don't know.
I want it to be somebody that we're not expecting.
You know what I want out of the Joker this way is if you're going super comic with Superman,
I also would love to see for somehow the first time.
We've never had a comic Joker live action.
We've had Jack Nicholson as Jack Nicholson.
We've had a punk rock Heath Ledger.
We've had whatever Jared Letto was doing.
We haven't really like, you know what I mean?
Like I'd love to see a crown.
You need a Mark Camel is what you're saying.
Yeah.
You need Mark Campbell's voice as a person.
Yeah, like Mark Campbell live action.
Yep.
Uh, Gregory Dobb, cheers Winston.
Roy Christian, I'm for all ages, Marvel.
What's that?
Let's see, next one.
And again, you guys are showing up here today.
Eric Slaby, it sucks that financially
Thunderbolts didn't do well because I love its tone and its
characters. I hope they have a big role in the future.
Well, I don't think that's going to change. I think they've already,
they've already shot a lot of this stuff already, too.
So I think they're still going to have a pretty big part.
And to that point, whether or not they get a second movie
is a different conversation, but they will definitely be
around because I don't think anybody had any complaints that actually went to go see the movie.
I think they just, it just wasn't enough to move the needle to get more people to go.
Right.
Yeah, I think that's the issue.
And I think they're going to do great in the movie as an ensemble and we'll be excited to see
him.
He follows it up and says, since there will be a post credit scene in Superman per gun,
what's the chance that we see Batman Bruce in it or maybe mentioned be a hell of a movie
ending?
Mentioned in passing, I would say 15% seeing him in it.
2%. I think the only reference to Batman we're going to get is what Christian has alluded to a number of times.
There will be a Wayne Enterprises. There will be a Bruce Wayne and like maybe Lois says something of like our
Perry is going over. Hey, you can do this. Or piece. You can do this piece. You do this piece. Do you want to interview Bruce Wayne? He's a playboy. I don't want to talk to him. Like it's something like that. It will not be no. Here is Bruce. Yeah. I don't think we see the man. Someone in the chat said Bill Scars guard
Joker and I think that's perfect.
Oh, well, what about the other
Scars Chargers? The guy who's been playing, uh, is that,
Bill, is that, Bill's the skinny.
Bill, Bill is, Bill is Crow.
Yes, yeah. Alexander's Jack.
Bill, Bill's, Bill would be great.
And it'd be, it's almost like stereotype
at this point. It is almost like
somehow typecasting.
The Crow may have been bad,
this remake, but he,
he's got that vibe. I would
be here for it. I don't think anybody
said that he was bad in that movie, just the movie
No, it was just a bad movie.
Parts on a platter.
Map Maker Studio, sending some love from Canada.
You guys are the best.
Thank you, Matt Makers.
Thank you.
Really appreciate that.
All right.
Scott Harowitz, due to the TV show,
think Green Arrow is big enough to draw a headline,
big enough to draw to headline a DCU show instead of...
Marshall Man, Hunter.
Oh, okay.
To a...
I think Arrow is bigger than Marshall.
Because of the show.
Yeah, if Green Arrow was going to do a show,
again, movie-wise, not for $100 million.
I think there's something to something with a Mr.
and Mrs. Smith, Black Canary Green Arrow.
It's a fun idea. And if it's, if it's a budget, that's reasonable.
$60 million? Sure. Why not?
Yeah. No, I mean, I'm literally thinking like, I mean, both the Amazon show was great of Mr.
Mr. Smith, but I'm thinking that that Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt.
That was, that was a great action movie, man.
Tom Talks Films. I've never been a huge Superman fan. This later trailer got me hyped.
More of a Spider-Man fan, but I'm rooting for this movie.
Love those comments.
Yeah, I'm so glad it's reaching people that didn't think they like Superman.
Beagle Studios.
I do agree with Coy on having Wally West be the DCU Flash.
He's been in a lot of love in the comics recently, so it makes sense.
Plus, I can see Cameron Monaghan as Wally.
How about you?
Who can you see?
I love Cameron Monaghan.
He's a sweetheart.
He loves the con circuit.
I've interviewed him.
I've hung out with him.
He's a delight.
He's a little, like, very intense focus.
Like, I see Wally is more playful.
Cameron's an actor.
He could act playful, but it wouldn't be my first pull.
I don't disagree with it necessarily,
but I wouldn't pull him first.
He's the one that played the Joker twins in Gotham, right?
Yes.
Okay.
You know, he's a little older, but a Billy Magnuson type.
Like, I want to, he's my booster, but like someone that's like a jester energy.
Okay, Cornyn.
No, dude, take him away from Boost.
I know you want him for Booster.
He would forgot about Billy.
Billy would be an amazing Joker.
Yeah, he would.
Oh, he would.
Yeah, it would be good.
Poor Emperor couldn't finish history of the world part too bad there you go
um eric eric slaby melbrooks and clean eastwood will continue to defy it
jk so some support some more support uh conar mullis thoughts on tall trees i think they're pretty neat
i mean look i i didn't i was in i was in north hollywood like near the san francisco area
which obviously the trees there were like end or that's where they shot and endor um it's great
I love big trees tall trees are neat you're right I like to just daydream madam I agree
Connor I'm with you Deandra Mosley what portrayal of Wonder Woman would you like to see in the
DC that's different from Galgado and which WW and which Wonder Woman comics could be used
for inspiration um I think this Wonder Woman will need to um feel like
she's lived in our world a bit longer like I liked the fish out of water take but I think
they're going to have to kind of establish a different one to make it feel different and like a
Wonder Woman's a little more established maybe, someone that's already like a little bit more versed.
I do think all of the stuff from, you know, Themiscaria and everything's going to be important.
I think they're going to go a little bit more like God, like from the clay origin maybe,
like something that's going to feel a little bit more mythic because of the comic energy of the universe.
So that'd be the biggest change I'd see.
Go ahead.
I kind of want to see what the Wonder Woman that came out of the New 52 specifically, what they did with the whole.
animated the idea of her being like warrior first um and like really being battle hungry and then that
maybe even being an interesting balance with like clark being the not that they would they get
together he's obviously with lowest but the idea of like be like hey yo like chill maybe maybe
right it in just a little bit uh you did that one already okay so this is spider sense say 72 for
koi's house fund also just found the next image for my spidey sleeve tattoo and made my appointment
for July. There you go. Congratulations. We have a running thing on my page. I do weekly
live streams and every dollar goes to a house fund because it's so expensive to buy a house in
LA or New York. So I'm saving. Thank you. My choice. Christian, do you say Steph has never seen
space balls? No, no, no. Well, I don't know if she's ever seen it. She might not have.
But she didn't, she didn't know about the announcement for part two.
Eric Slaby, why do you think, why do you guys think we haven't got a great faithful Robin Hood
adaptation since the Earl Flynn movie? Hey, when you discount that Disney,
movie.
Don't you just count men in tights?
Men in tights is modern.
Every version feels like it's been
miscast or tried to make the story
different to agree. To me, I'm not even kidding.
The Disney version is a great version.
It's really good. It's great.
I love Carrie Alway's as Robert.
I'm not kidding.
Men and tights is
you know what? It's my favorite Mel Brooks.
You just activated a core memory
because I've seen every Mel Brooks movie
except for Blazing Saddles.
Oh my God.
Dude. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah.
I need to I just reminded me that I need to watch.
You should do a reaction to that one.
Yeah, you should.
Okay.
All right.
100% to a reaction to the, it would probably crush.
Oh, okay, save versus Pacers is peak ball, shame views are low.
Yeah, who cares?
I couldn't give, couldn't give a shit.
But apparently they are actually showing Fantastic Four ads in there a lot.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
So Connor Mullis, now I'm eating Twizzlers.
Yeah, baby.
Enjoy it.
This is one of my favorite, like the, the thoughts just come in and out, and I love the journey.
It's like, what was it, Robert Smeagel?
Or was it from Saturday Live?
The one from, what is it, the deep thoughts, Jack Handy, right?
Jack Handy, that was the name.
Yep.
Joey Pedger stopping by to say, hi.
Thank you, Joey.
Always nice to see you.
We got to be over 100 now with Joey.
You are.
You guys are, you guys are tired at the moment.
10 minutes left, gang.
Jake, a sold-out I-max screening of Superman on July 8th cannot.
get here fast enough. Am I excited for this movie to quote John Wick? Yeah. So we
we did reactions with Tina on those two. First one did pretty well. Second one,
eight duty. So we're going to do some, I'm waiting until ballerina comes out,
um, on digital before I release anymore because I'm not, it takes too much time and effort.
People are like I said with the squid games. People aren't watching it and putting them up. Um,
let's see. Next one after that, although Thorlemon Thunder are doing pretty good today. People like
to see me in pain.
DJ Case, support DJ Case with some support.
Thank you, DJ Case.
Um, okay.
Next one here.
And this one is from Corn Emperor.
Love you all, especially the chat.
There you go, corn.
Eric Slaby.
In this new DC, who do you guys think has more wealth, power,
prestige in the world? Lex, Bruce, Wayne,
Maxwell Lord, Stag, or someone else.
You got to assume Bruce, right?
Uh, Bruce and Lex, to my knowledge, those are the two.
I'd say Bruce and Lex are pretty comfortable.
Is it what I would assume would be the higher-
The way that they kind of very casually back and forth
will acquire all different types of stuff.
The fact that Lex ran for president at one point,
the fact that Bruce,
the two of them really have that all on lock.
Yeah.
Haskell.
What up guys?
Christian,
do you see my retweet to you of the short clip
of the Empire State Building being up for Superman?
No, I'd be honest.
I don't really check Twitter too much.
It's epic.
Let's go Yankees over Boston.
Well, I agree with all of that.
I have to check it out.
Yeah, I've been sticking to my advice.
I post things on Twitter and then I run away.
I don't really check Twitter.
It's not as much of a garbage heap as it used to be.
It might be, but I just don't check it anymore.
Scott Horowitz became a member.
Thank you, Scott.
And then Jay Anderson, film is subjective.
Opinions will defer.
I don't agree with anyone 100%,
but I'm fans of everyone on the show, and I love the conversation.
Chat, be respectful.
I don't think I've ever met anyone.
I've agreed with 100%.
That'd be weird, so I appreciate that.
Yeah.
totally jay anderson winston the man of steel trailer two is what i was referring okay okay i'll check
that out uh blurred dad life of the two what's your favorite spiderburst film of first hands down
across edges out the first for me slightly really a second one just doesn't have an ending for me it's
it's a cliffhanger i mean but it it feels exactly the same way that empire strikes back feels for me
yeah sure take that over the other two with the original you just knew we were definitely
getting a third movie. Well, I mean, that was the thing. We were definitely getting a third movie and then
something happened. That's true. But I still like the first one better. I think the first,
there's a couple times that I was like when we're watching it with Sam, I was a few times that I was
like, all right, let's go, let's go. And then it takes track up and it moves. I would, I would say
the only reason the first one eeks out for me just a baby bit is because I got to see it in 3D
in the theater. And so it was the comic book coming to life's thing versus
just seeing it regular.
I think the second one personally is a better movie,
but I am more emotionally tied to the first because of that.
Dr. Brooklyn,
when it comes to Superman's Nugget Pouch,
is the angle of the dangle proportional to the heat of the meat?
For the lois of sake, I hope so.
Yeah, so exactly.
I love that conversation of Mallrats about getting pregnant.
I hope it's safe for her.
Oh, Koi, dogma was so good on the big screen.
Do you have a good time?
Oh, my God.
I just brought back so many memories from teenagehood, man.
that it was amazing corn emperor charlie hunnamas green arrow he's got the look he's got the look

ip still strong we'll find out soon all marketing i've seen is that riana is voicing smurfette
releasing a new song for the movie wait i forgot there's a smurf movie yeah there's a new smurf movie
that's between superman and fantastic four i think it's gonna pull at least 700 because of the nature
of the type of film that's a movie i won't bet against i could see that movie either being a massive
hit or a massive flop either one i don't know what it's tracking it but i could see it but it's true
it's smart does the smurth still hold up i don't know nathan drake we ain't found shit that is probably
the best part of that whole movie
Not yet, sir.
We ain't found shit.
Johnny Bravo.
Funny you said Josh Hartner because he was in the running for Nolan's Batman.
He was also in the running for Superman for the Brandon Ralph.
I knew that.
Okay, let's see.
I would like to see Josh Hartnett if they're going to do an older one for sure.
Let's see.
This is Kenye King.
Hope we see either Parasite, Toy Man, or Mattello in the next Superman.
movie villains that challenge superman in vastly different ways i want any of those and or brainiac
i want brainiac so bad uh okay next one j anderson i love my homemade elk bison and beef jerky oh wow
there you go bison jerky so good i'm not doing that for breakfast though i know it's a good
foundation for the stomach gets you going well it can happily be my snack between breakfast and

you as soon as this is over I had two chicken meatballs waiting for me in the
loaf pat chicken meatballs Jonathan Garcia Winston when when you were in
extra community did you get to talk to Donald he's my hero coy Winston favorite
Gambino album hi Christian I didn't get to talk to him funny story I actually didn't
recognize where I knew him from because this is right before he really started to
take off like because I was on episode four so the show had barely really really
started or anything like that. I remember being like,
I don't remember who that black dude is, but I could do that
role so much better than him. Nice.
I could not do that role so much better than him.
But in my mind, that's what I was thinking at the time.
But I talked to Chevy Chase. That was
despite everybody saying that he's a prick.
He was actually very nice to me.
But he held us up. We ended up spending
four hours on one scene
because he couldn't remember a line.
Sounds about right.
But other than that, but favorite Gambino album,
probably the EP with Freakies.
and geeks on it, though, because that just brought me into the whole fold, but huge fan of
Awaken my love and because of the internet.
I think because of the internet for its technical and concept things, I listen to camp probably
the most, and I worked with Donald on the to-do list, and he's a delay.
Armada, so excited for the bear returning. Yes.
Season three was, season three wasn't the best. It was fine. It was fine. I liked it, but it
wasn't as good as one and two, so I'm hoping that four is back to form.
Noah Sparks, is there someone you want to see play Green Arrow?
Yes, Carrot Top.
Oh, probably on.
Perfect.
Why you have that save to your phone, we don't know.
But let's see.
My background.
I figured.
Jake, fitting the final shot of last of a season two was of Seahawk Stadium,
I took it as symbolism for the end of a disappointing season.
It's really good.
It's really good.
It's really good.
I like that.
I like the end and I love that comment more.
That was pretty good.
Doyes.
Thank you, Dewey for the support.
Kevin,
Liguardia,
great name.
Sports question,
but wanted to show love for capes and call.
Thoughts on the fibs firing and the finals so far.
I think it was a little,
I mean,
it got them to the,
pretty far twice.
It might have been a little.
I think it was stupid,
but I have a guess that this is going to be similar to what happened
with the Warriors with Mark Jackson.
Mark Jackson got them pretty far,
but once you fired him and then we got Steve,
Kev Kerr, the Warriors became the dynasty.
I don't necessarily know that the Knicks will become a dynasty
because you have a lot of other crazy teams out there right now,
but they will always be in the conversation
and we'll probably win a chip if they find the right coach.
Fingers crossed, PLD project, boom.
And to say something, Ed Harris as Mr. Freeze.
Come on.
I'd watch that.
That's great.
Paul Giamati is Mr. Freeze.
All right, everyone, chill!
It's too hot in here.
I love my wife.
Tyler
I love my wife
Now you go
Chance the rapper
Tyler Pfeiffer
Spinal tap 2 is happening
He's the exact same cast
What's come out this year
Isn't it?
I think so
I think so
Derek Johnson
If people weren't so ignorant
Of different types of beauty
My casting for Wonder Woman
Would be Iona Mayor
The rugby player
Yeah but can she act
I've never seen her act
I don't know
People sometimes just choose
Like for example
What's her face
Oh my God
I can't picture a name from
WBE. Oh, my God,
for Storm. Jade Cargill.
Jay Cargill looks, guys,
Google, Google, she looks
like Storm. There's no world where I want
to see her play Storm. She can't act.
She can barely, she can't,
she's not a good in-performer, she's a good
ring performer, I kind of, but she's
stiff in the ring, but she's not a great
promos and stuff, no thanks.
Corn Emperor. Winston,
when are we watching Blazing Saddles?
You got, you got, I'm telling you.
Yeah, no, I mean, you've,
It sounds like everybody is like gung-ho about this, so I might need to fast-track that.
Your reaction to that would be, I would watch it immediately.
I'm going to have to fast-track that.
Christian unpronounceable.
Prishian.
Winston, please reactively.
You got to do it.
Armada, surprised how soon that Edgidon movie is coming out.
That's this month.
That's July 2.
I'm so excited for it.
It's Arias Stur's new movie.
Okay.
Connor Mullis, not to get to political, but just sawdust is super itchy.
I don't like it, but sawdust is super.
Connor's cracking great jokes today.
Connor's killing it today.
Armada, Winston, how was the KDOT show?
Oh, my God, dude, it was so freaking good.
And in Vegas, Cizzer brought out Doja Cat, and they did the Kiss Me More together, which was cool.
But KDOT is a genius, man.
That show was amazing.
Tim, Reed Richards or Steve Ross,
Rogers, Steve Roger. Who gets
Madame Love's Love? Oh, the two of them?
Steve Rogers. I'm watching
Materialist tonight, and surprisingly my theater is nearly
full. Sleeper hit. People are loving
So good. What is this? Material.
The new rom-com.
Edgum of Scal, Dakota Johnson.
It's supposed to be great. It's supposed to be great.
Speaking of Dakota Johnson,
she is,
and Chris Evans, obviously, that's why
he's saying it. But she is
so she's she's done something inside of the pub the just the PR what she's been in not just for this
movie somewhere she just embraced oh who the hell she is she's she's she's goofy she's silly she doesn't
give an F is so funny she's really funny she played and she's been playing that way more recently
like and she it's like someone's like don't don't try like just be your goofy self and
she has watching so many of her interviews and I'm like
Wait, do I get the thing?
Do I get the Dakota Johnson?
I told you.
Remember, I told you a long time ago.
I said, am I the only one to find her extremely sexy?
And people are like, nah, you're the only one.
Not anymore.
Everybody's coming around.
But I was honestly, Reed Richards, because, you know.
I always thought she was sexy.
I just, I found a lot of the earlier stuff, which just felt very cardboard as far as, like,
the acting goes.
But she's been, she's been crushing recently.
She's really good in the peanut butter falcon, by the way.
You've anybody seen.
DJ Case, Father's Day is Sunday.
don't forget to call or hug your own
in. Oh, I will, for sure. I'm trying to
figure out still what the hell I'm going to do. I'm trying to
relaxing go to the beach or just relaxing
on my couch. Where people leave me alone.
Nathan Drake, when will Blazing
Saddles 2 happen? Probably in two years, yeah.
Justin Hartley
as
Green Arrow. He came for us. Who's Justin Hartley?
Oh, he was Green Arrow on Smallville, and now he's in
this is us. This is
us, and he's got a show on CBS right now.
He's awesome. I like the dude.
Armada, would you be down for an Aaron Taylor Johnson for Batman?
No, he's in too much stuff.
And now, now.
Mike Joyce, Christian and you and your wife should react to Violent Night.
We got a better shot with Sam on that one.
My wife and I are actually going to watch, because it's a 35 year anniversary of Pretty Woman,
we're going to watch that together.
Oh, that's cute.
Amata, Naomi Scott as Wonder Woman.
Naomi Scott, I don't mind.
I like Naomi Scott and Hope Arnold,
comes into the DCU to fight to fight Rob Patrick T2 reunion not as Mr.
freeze obviously come on the guy's running get him come on peacemaker hurry up I want to
see him do uh I'd love to see him like crack some jokes in James Gunn's universe I think
that's it's a chance me double check nope just kidding buster Barnes Arjona as Wonder Woman
Isa Gonzales as Catwoman Naomi Scott as Santana Zatana
Zatana no he's got a solid dude tell me where I missed also I don't see an Aquaman
Mo-Mu-Mu-Man movie for a long time.
All that stuff could be accurate what he just said.
Great, great casting, man.
I don't even know if I should show this.
This is pretty controversial, but
Connor, muffins.
There, I said it.
Damn.
Come on, man.
You want to get-
In the chat with violence?
Trying to keep coy happy here.
Four number, Capes and Cal's won the week.
Yes, they did.
Ladies and gentlemen,
129 is the final number.
Capes and Cows is a three weeks in a row.
Sorry to ruin your intro.
She said when I said they're the ones I said you got them coming up.
I mean, to be fair, to be fair, Roxy didn't get a shot this week because what happened on Tuesday,
I didn't get back in time at the show to start the show late.
Dan Merle came in to be a guest.
Roxy wasn't able to do show.
And then Mike and Steph got screwed yesterday.
But nonetheless, you guys still 129.
It's a strong number even with those asterisks.
100%.
It would have been, 129 would have been probably would have won.
the week anyway but just you know we got everybody's back in the rotation now you got chris card
some strong competition so all right Winston where can i find you can find me at the swaggy
blurred on all the platforms man uh i guess i i mean i'm going to finish my my sam's avengers team
but i guess i'm immediately looking at my calendar while i'm working today to figure out when i'm
watching blazing saddles what i'll probably do is do a live reaction with patreon fans and i'm going to
start my, I'm about to start my YouTube membership.
So maybe that'll be the first perk that you get.
And then I will release it for everybody else
once I can edit it out. So.
There's one more big one that apparently
they missed. Oh, not that one.
Oh, not that one. No.
No, where is it? Hold on a second.
There's one. Hold on.
Apparently, I'm looking. I'm looking. Hold on guys.
Okay.
Why, Coy.
Why don't you tell them where to find you? I'll find the other one.
I can find me monthly at Coycast, a podcast I have on
everywhere you stream or podcast. And always forget
to plug. You can find me weekly on Patreon.
where I review all the comics, not just my favorites, which is on my YouTube, but all the comics,
as well as movies and TV shows I like over on patreon.com slash co-genre.
You can find me weekly on my page on YouTube, two or three videos a week.
You can find me every other week at DC Studios Showcase, which is on HBO Max and Max's YouTube.
You can find me every four weeks on DC high volume, which is my Batman-centric talk show,
talking to people adapting those comics into a glorious radio play.
And you can find me all the time at Real Rejects and right here.
I found it.
DJ Case with a very generous.
Whoa.
Whoa.
You guys talk about the average movie-going audience when it comes to comic book films.
I use my father as barometer to that audience.
His biggest complaint to Cap 4 was no super-soldier serum.
You think that might be a misstep by Marvel?
Yes, I do.
I get it.
It's the point.
I get it.
It's a bad point.
He should take the serum.
When he's fighting the, I don't care what kind of shield he has, when he's fighting
the Red Hulk with a shield and he's getting hit and he's not, I don't believe it.
We get crushed.
It was hard, like, we would talk about magic beans, like some of my friends, like you can get one magic bean in a movie.
It felt like too big of a magic bean for us to like make the plot work.
Yeah.
It really did Winston.
You agree with that?
Yeah.
Even though that there's the purist of me of like there's something very interesting about Sam holding the mantle down without taking the serum, I'm actually randomly on a whim decided to rewatch the Falcon of the Winter Soldier right now.
and there is something slightly missing,
and especially when you were throwing fist of cups with the Hulk.
Yeah, it worked in the show because it was Zimo.
It didn't work against Harrison Hulk.
Right, no.
DJ Case, did you be some of the donation?
Nope, we just got it.
Thank you so much, DJ.
PLD, still beat Roca.
That's the most important.
Armada.
Muffins!
Like mustard.
They're not letting you go, guys.
They're letting you smash the week this week.
Mild Manor Comic Nerd.
You okay, baby?
I swear I heard Mike's internet troll laughing at you yesterday at the end.
Love you guys.
Perfect.
I think that's it now.
Okay, guys.
So we did it.
Gentlemen, thank you to everybody here.
Thank you everyone who donated.
Thank everybody who's part of the chat.
Thank you to all you guys.
Make sure you check out Turtle Beach Factor.
Thank you to Winston.
Thank you to Coy.

There are so many new members.
Please go and check out the latest capes and cows, the comic book.
We're going to be doing that real soon.
Appreciate it.
We'll see you guys on the flip side.
A bye-bye.
A-bye.
