Starting point is 00:00:01 I had a bunch of different stories lined up, man. I had, um, we keep talking about Andy Muscietti, whether or not he's going to be directing Brave and the Bold. Jeff Schneider says he hears that not going to happen. And I said, well, that's going to be the main topic. And I looked in the comments as I was going through and getting ready to be on the show. And so somebody goes, how are you guys not talking about GTA 6? Let me go to the biggest game.
Starting point is 00:00:30 Come on, you old turds. whatever they said and I was like and I wrote to Luke and I go they're 100% right. So don't tell me and I'll listen to you because they do. You guys were right on that one. We got to talk about it. I'm not going to pretend and tell you that I'm so like I'm like the ultimate gamer, but I'm not a moron when I know this is going to be one of the biggest games of all time. It's going to be huge.
Starting point is 00:00:49 So we'll talk about will it be the biggest game of all time and how we thought that the footage and all that other stuff looked. So, um, anyway, Jen Sturger is going to join me in just a little bit. So we will be talking to her and we'll be talking to you guys. It is Friday. So let's get into it, everybody. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:01:14 Did you shit in there? What's going on, everybody? Welcome back to the show here today on this Friday. As I mentioned to you, Jen Sturger will be on just a little bit. Happy to be sharing the microphone again with Jed. And not only here, We are going to be, and we'll be talking about this on today's show. If you are in New York and you can make it to the island, please come out and check us out on October 8th.
Starting point is 00:01:48 It's going to be a reunion for the three of us. And man, it might be a reunion after that. I have been talking about the schmodeown. I'm talking about our goals and what we can do. 99.9% of the people have been responsive and excited. One shitbag on wheels said it was scummy. Fuck off and don't watch it, you imbecile. I wasn't going to address it, but I did.
Starting point is 00:02:18 And then we're excited because if you look at this, we have the actual campaign here. And so this is what I'm telling you guys and really making it, trying to sink it in on every video that we do. and by the way the clips channel is coming back too i'll be back on monday for everybody the clips channel will officially be back on monday uh 929 followers so far i would really love to hit a thousand by today and i'll tell you why on a lot of different a lot of different reasons um this is all getting changed and oh not changed but updated rather
Starting point is 00:03:05 And we announced yesterday, Andrew Freed is directing the project. And I have a couple more photos I posted today. That was Andrew actually directing us on the video when I was in LA. Another shot from the shoot there. And we're excited to get going. So if you haven't already done it, please go and check out the, I'm going to put the link in there right now.
Starting point is 00:03:35 We really, I'm curious, say yes or no in the comments right now, out of the people that are in there, have you followed the account? That's what I want to know. Yes or no. And remember, by following it right now and getting updated, it doesn't mean you're committed to donate right away. It doesn't mean you committed to donate at all. But if you do, it just lets you know what we have going on and what it also does. David Jardayo, by the way, you know what, David? Jardio said no yet.
Starting point is 00:04:10 I want to, I'm glad you're in the chat because I want to take a break from talking about this thing, because I want to address David Jardio. And I'm hoping Javier that turns into a yes by the end of this stream. However, I saw a really nice video that David, David Jarday did on me. I was probably from like five, six months ago, David just kind of popped up. It was a really nice video. It was very kind. someone who's been watching the content for a long time.
Starting point is 00:04:35 And if you know, I mean, David, David's been a supporter of this channel for a bit. You've seen him in the chat. We've talked with me, him, Roxy. I think Roxy may have been the only one who got his name right. I'm hoping I got his last name right.
Starting point is 00:04:48 But it was a very nice video. And I hope that people go and check out his channel in general. And I just wanted to say thank you, David. It was really nice. It's funny that the first no I see was David Jardale. But nonetheless, David, I hope that there's some stuff in there that, that makes you consider or going over there and following because the reason why we're trying
Starting point is 00:05:08 to get to 5,000 before launch, to put it in hindsight, the, or perspective, I should say, the guild, which had like a monumental launch, and they were trying to raise 1.5. They went to raising like almost $7 million. dollars. So in comparison, they had 10,000 people following before the launch happened at 10,000. We are not even trying to, as their initial goal was 1.5, our initial goal is 250. So we are looking, again, that's about, you know, we would, honestly, to compare on those numbers, probably could aim for like 2,000. but we're aiming for 5,000
Starting point is 00:05:58 and we're hoping that you guys will join and go and check it out and for the Schmodeon people again how that works is that the first that the first day if we hit it the first day we hit our goal of 250
Starting point is 00:06:15 in day one we're going to do a 16 person tournament I'm already getting emails and texts from competitors where Roca was like you think people will do it and like we already have like eight spots filled tomorrow if we wanted to do it. And we could fill 16 probably in a day. What I will do,
Starting point is 00:06:33 I think somebody might, I don't know if this is a, I don't know if this is a, spoiling a super chat, somebody, and if it is, I'll just address it again later. Someone was asking as far as the day one on like a live stream,
Starting point is 00:06:46 what I do an actual match. And I wouldn't do a match, but what I would do is, A, maybe announce some of the people that have committed to the tournament if we get it going. and then B, ask some people live on air if they'll do it. So things of that nature.
Starting point is 00:07:02 So I'm looking at everybody who's in there. And I'm going to see how many yes is, how many. And look, maybe there are a lot of people that were just weren't, David's one of the few honest people that we're saying, no, it's not a, no, no, no. Jen got here. So I'm going to bring her in a second. So we'll keep talking before she's ready to go. And, yeah, let's see.
Starting point is 00:07:24 looking at all these we've got a lot of yeses here so and this is really true so jaden's asking i'm gonna you know what jaden i'm gonna i'm gonna start this because i'm gonna do the same thing and i'm going to put all this i'm starring all them i'm gonna do this i'm really going to do the same thing for this until the end of the kickstart which is all the super chats that come in obviously at the at the time that it's we're ready to go you know at the hour level we're will start asking the questions. But anything regarding the pilot, anything regarding the Kickstarter, the Shmowdown, any of that stuff, that's all going to be starred and will be asked during the questions
Starting point is 00:08:05 portion. I don't even know if Jen knows about the Shmowdown thing yet. I haven't asked her yet. I'm going to ask her on the air. So I'm curious to see if word hit her yet, or she's like, what the fuck are you talking about? I'm going to say it's probably the latter. Either way, let's bring her in, ladies and gentlemen, because as I mentioned to you,
Starting point is 00:08:24 many times over on October 8th, myself, Jen Sturger, and Mark Ellis will be back together again performing standard together. So I'm excited for this. And here she is. Oh, there she is. There she is. Perfect. What am I agreeing to, Christian? You haven't heard this yet, have you? I haven't. This is breaking news to a party of one over here. What's going on? Well, this will be fun. This might get more people excited. So, I got to ask a few, I got to ask a few questions. Question one. I think you are because I texted you,
Starting point is 00:09:00 but you're aware that I wrote a 30-minute comedy pilot that I'm going to be doing a Kickstarter for. Yes. Well, you told me about it a little bit when you were in Los Angeles. I did. And so, and this is, yesterday we announced our director, who is Andrew Freed. He's an Emmy Award-winning producer for Welcome to Rexam,
Starting point is 00:09:19 the Valdok. Oh, nice. A bunch of things. He was on the show yesterday, and we were really excited to have him. I'm on board the project. Now, one of the goals, because our goal is 250, but we really need to raise more than that. But we're hoping, we're hoping that in day one that we can raise that.
Starting point is 00:09:35 And I, this is what you aren't aware of yet. And I'm curious how you're going to feel about it. In day one, if we raise the money in day one, the schmodown will come back for a 16 person tournament. if it doesn't do it in day one in day two it will be an eight person tournament day three will be a live event and if it gets funded but not in those three days there'll be some kind of shmowdown thing i have two questions for you question one you excited about this news question two would you please do us the honor if you are excited to come back and do post interviews for us uh okay so number one um I totally think, look, I knew this was going to happen at some point.
Starting point is 00:10:29 You said, you were the guy that was like, I'm never doing this again. I'm never doing this again. It was hurting cats. To be fair, it was. I don't think people really understand the manpower that it took to put that show on the air week after week. But that said, like, I think, I mean, at least I can speak for my. myself, but I miss it. I miss the schmown, mostly because I miss the people, you know, like I got a little dose of it when I was at Comic-Con. I mean, that's obviously, that's like
Starting point is 00:11:05 our high school reunion. Sorry, you weren't there. Past president must have not gotten in touch with you. He's too cool. He was too cool. No, it's like it was one of those, it was actually one of those things where it's like, you know, it's like, you know, I'll go back in 96, but if I go back in 2003, I'll feel a little old. Oh, yeah. But it's funny. It's I didn't feel. that way at all. I love it. You're significantly younger than I am, so yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:29 Yeah, I think so. We'll talk about that some other day. Anyways, but no, I, um, you know, I'm in. I, I credit you and the schmownown for giving me an environment that felt safe enough to hone my hosting chops again, just because I feel like I, I don't know, I really clamped up, obviously, after the Farge stuff. And I felt like the Schmowdown was just, look, it's one of the safest work environments I ever had.
Starting point is 00:11:56 I mean, that's not saying much, you know what I mean? But like it truly like when you look at all the places that I've worked, you know, pro wrestling sports. Yeah. Not exactly pillars of the Me Too movements, you know, and now comedy. But I miss it. You know, I miss it a lot. I miss those people.
Starting point is 00:12:18 I miss the fun. I mean, I still till this day use pictures of Mike Kalinowski dressed in Captain America. just absolutely crashing out whenever people are having conversations that I'm like, they'll understand this reference. Yeah. Well, you know, it's Kenny Jen real quick because I want to obviously want to hear the rest of it too because I realized, you know, we're doing, we're running the Schmodeown vault right now.
Starting point is 00:12:40 I saw somebody going, what the hell is the Schmodeon? I'm lost. Go and check out the Schmodown vault. Back in ancient times. Yeah. We used to all get together. It's true. Well, I'm watching the Shmoody trivia bond to the guys of pro wrestling.
Starting point is 00:12:53 Yes. And we were. And so the Shmodown. Ball has been airing the entire showdown in chronological order and I've been watching where are you guys at? Right now we're at this match today. Look at that. Oh wow. This is before
Starting point is 00:13:05 you haven't even made your debut yet. We're still in season three. Oh, damn. Yeah, season three. You guys don't even know how cool I am. That's right. Season three and that's the semifinals match and that was such a major match when that match happened.
Starting point is 00:13:21 And it leads to whoever wins plays Ellis in the finals, which led to the first spectacular ever, which, anyway, so it has been, I'm not going to lie, kind of planting the inception of saying, well, how can I do? Because I wouldn't, I do not have, as you were saying before, I don't have the strength to do a full season. I just don't. I don't have the capacity. I don't have any of that.
Starting point is 00:13:43 But if we were able to, you know, fund this pilot and then I was talking, I don't have to hide it anymore, Andrew Fried, and he talked about it on the show yesterday, he loved this road on. He took, like he said he took a date to. one of the live events one time. And he was talking about when I told him this idea, he's like, yeah, well, we'll absolutely do something like that. And he, you know, he had mentioned teasingly.
Starting point is 00:14:06 Well, not teasing. Like half serious, half joking about going to Vegas and doing it and other things. But already, competitors have been hearing it. People are slowly hearing the word about it. And I'm getting texts and emails from people saying, I'll do it, I'll do it, I'll do it. That's so funny. Yeah. I just, look, every, every reboot,
Starting point is 00:14:26 started with, you think we can get that person again? You know what I mean? So like this, that's kind of where we're at. Yeah, it is. I knew you'd come around, Christian. Well, I mean, but there's a, I mean, but there's a, there's a, there's a caveat to it, right? It's the fact that like, I want, I want to make sure, like, because my, and people know that my first priority and my first passion is to get this show trending off the ground. Yeah. And it's to get it done. And if I can also have incentive for people to say, hey, look, I'll support this. If I also know that I'm going to get that other show that I really loved back, then I feel that that's a tit for tat. Agencies do that all the time. They're like, hey, we'll get your A-list, doctor. But you got to
Starting point is 00:15:11 take this G-list, dude. Hopefully the show's not, hopefully the show's not G-list. Hopefully it's the Schmodeon. That's the G-list one. But nonetheless, it's both for people who were excited about in general and then you get an extra thing and it's also incentive to do it let's just fund this thing now get and know what that we're going to have this thing the the shmowdown eventually as well too for like because a 16 person tournament that was always fun the tournaments the ultimate shmodowns and even how we started those were always really fun and to be able to build that out and and let's say it does in the never say never category let's say we film it we do a big tournament it's highly successful and I can find help or someone else who can help run it.
Starting point is 00:15:55 I'm not saying that it's a never say never scenario, but you've got to have one. And how funny would it be that the ultimate schmodeon, which jump started the schmodeown in general, with both the teams tournament and the singles tournament from 2014, 2015 would now catapulted, you know, shit. It'll be 12, 13 years later. You know what's interesting, Christian?
Starting point is 00:16:16 is some of us are a little more connected than we used to be in television. Right, I know. I know. I'm going to the Emmys. That's awesome. How look at that. Right? I'm excited.
Starting point is 00:16:28 We got Jen. It's all hooked up now. We got Andrew Fried. I mean, we have things. We have things. We have things. Yes. So I'm going to check right now and I'm going to see because what I'd like to do with
Starting point is 00:16:38 you on this show today is I would like, before you sign off, I would like to update people and say, we have a thousand people already following the count. Currently, we have 939. Oh, we can do that, which I think we can do. We just need 61 people. We can do that. I'm putting the link in there right now. The other thing to talk about before we jump into some of this news is the whole reason Jen's here today. And that's for us to talk about that we're going to actually see each other in person. I know. It's been so long, man. I know. When did I see you last, when I was there visiting? Yeah, I would, well, one time, it was before it was before my surgery yeah
Starting point is 00:17:17 yeah it was a kind of put a damper on pool days for me for a hot minute but yeah I enjoy being in the group chat and having FOMO about it thanks for including me of course of course but yeah it's been a hot minute
Starting point is 00:17:33 I saw Ellis when we were down in San Diego for Comic Con have you heard about that no what happened so we were in the middle of our show at Comic-Con and there was this weird smell started coming in and Ken Napsack was on stage. I was like, man, he must be bombing.
Starting point is 00:17:57 No, it wasn't. But apparently there was like a gas leak, right? What they thought. And so like basically we had to evacuate. Oh, my God, no. In the middle of Ken's set. Oh, it's hilarious. And I was like, man, I was like, you were doing so bad.
Starting point is 00:18:13 Someone was like, we got to tear this. place up. Right. Literally bombing. No. So it ended up being, it ended up being a broken pipe from the Mexican restaurant next door. Oh, sure. That was like seeping into the comedy club. So they got it fixed. But I said, Ken, when you go on stage, you just have to walk up there and be like, sorry, everyone, I ate the bad lettuce. He should have, did he? Did you wind up? He did? He crushed. And Mark goes, that was so funny Ken and I was like yeah yeah we're credit let's do you guys that's me well good we still writing for men well I'm pumped I'm pumped that we get to do a show together because we used to do those I speaking of Shmodeon we used to do those and well you know it's one of the regrets
Starting point is 00:19:00 that I have is that I took me too long to then start getting back up on stage again but I was towards the end of it and I and we did a few shows together at the New York Comedy Club yeah I'm really excited about it you're amazing storyteller. People haven't seen you on stage. I'm in the process of finishing my hour and I am going to debut at the New York Comedy Festival in November. So this show is going to be like a sneak preview likely of like my my closer slash like my hook of my set. So I'll be running on that. But yeah, I'm really excited about it. I think movie fans are going to like my set the most because I've just been tying it together with like my love of movies with like the whole
Starting point is 00:19:47 situation that I went through. So I'm excited to see how it's received. Yeah, me too. I want to make sure I think Luke is listening, but I'm going to text him as well. I want to make sure that we have the link for the tickets in the description. Please. Yes. Yes. You put it at the I think it might be the first thing already in in the description, but if it's not, it should be. And yeah, so how long, And that's the question, too. It's going to be on October 7th. And I already have a bunch of people, my wife has been telling her friends
Starting point is 00:20:17 and the people that she's met her out here already. And I talked to some of my... It's October 8th, isn't it? Oh, is it the 8th? Yeah. I was like, I'm like, oh, no, I booked a ticket the wrong day. No, I think you're right. You're exactly right.
Starting point is 00:20:29 October 8th. Between the Kickstarter and this, my dates are all messed up. because what's funny is initially, initially, because we were trying to get the Kickstarter going on October, or September 2nd to get it to October 2nd. Because in my mind, I'm like, you know what? Then I'll have the entire Kickstarter.
Starting point is 00:20:49 I either did it or I didn't do it. And it'll be, at least can put it on the side so I can just concentrate fully on the show. That's amazing. It's almost like to say AI. The cat just comes out of nowhere. She does not care about anything. No. I didn't know you had a cat. When did you get a cat? That's a cool shot though.
Starting point is 00:21:09 I've, uh, I've had cats, Christian. I ran an animal rescue. Why do you think I was always bringing random animals into set? I don't think I ever saw. I was always a bunch of dogs. No. And this, this is Reno. Reno, uh, Reno came from Brooklyn. So, she's from New York. Yeah. She's going to bite me in two seconds. She shouldn't give a shit. She's like, hey, pay attention to me. Exactly. Yeah. So I mean, uh, so I was like, okay, you know, I'll be able to concentrate just fully on the set. and then things just happened the way that they happen. We didn't get approved for a Kickstarter until a little later than we thought. That's what always happens, man. I mean, truly, like, you think you have nothing going on,
Starting point is 00:21:46 and all of a sudden you have three things going on at once simultaneously, you know. But they're all good things, Christian. Totally. It's going to be a blast. And I'm excited for it. And I haven't performed. Although what I really wish, even though, I don't know why, I don't know why they won't change the flyer.
Starting point is 00:22:03 We've sent it to them 37 times. I know. I'm sorry. I've sent it to them. I don't know. Why won't they change it? The flyer we have, the one that we have is good. But when you go, so if you guys go to the site to buy the tickets, do not be confused with the Levittown flyer. It is the wrong flyer. Yeah, I'm sure. It is the wrong flyer. So we, we, it needs to be changed. But nonetheless, that happens. I'll work on it. Please, on October 8th, not 7th. And by the way, and Kyle Lewis, who I love. is hosting it. Love Kyle. He's such a great dude. I like Kyle a lot. So anyway, that's what we got going on.
Starting point is 00:22:40 That's going to be those two things. Like I said, please join the Kickstarter campaign. And I saw somebody mention it. Well, I can't commit to money right now. You don't have to. That's the whole point of the Kickstarter. You go right now.
Starting point is 00:22:52 You just follow it. And then if there's a time where you're able to, great. But it pushes us in the forefront to let Kickstarter know, hey, people care about this campaign. Yeah, just like that it's heating up, you know, kind of engagement helps us with stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:23:08 Yes, 100%. It really, really does. Okay. So you know what, Jim, before we get into our movie news, let me just do this and I'll tell people about our good friends over at Hymns. I've been telling you about them all week. I'm going to tell you about them again. Then we'll be back and Jen and I will dive into the
Starting point is 00:23:23 movie news and the game news that you guys have been looking forward to. Here we go. I'd rather stick a hot iron in my mouth than welcome that serial murder into this colony. Besides, it's been so long since we've been to a I'm not exaggerating. You have offended me for the very last time, Mr. Cook.
Starting point is 00:23:40 I demand satisfaction. I knew you get a kick out of that. You have offended me for the very last time, Mr. Cook. No one had. No one had until recently. And Alan Smithy found it for us, and it's been an absolute staple of this show. And we call him Mr. Cook now.
Starting point is 00:24:16 I love it so much. The second, see, I'm glad you appreciated that. I was the only one that appreciated it. It's the second slap that the guy takes and he goes, it's the best. I love that clip so much. I, first of all, I'm very disappointed. No offense, I love hanging out with you.
Starting point is 00:24:38 But I really enjoyed the banter with you and Mike. And, man, I've never seen so much of Mike's work. But like, I've never seen. seen, I didn't know he did like a period. That's hilarious. That wig is, that wig is atrocious. That's like the only wig that I've seen that's worse than that is last year when my nieces made me play Elsa at their birthday party. Okay. Like, that's the only wig. You're, you're being, first of all, no, no. It's not. It's, it's, it's, it's not worse. This looks like a low budget Hamilton. Like this, that looks like a high school.
Starting point is 00:25:22 So what's worse? So what's worse? You got three options. You got that wig, the Rock's wig or Mike's wig from Moana. Dude, I don't know. At least Mike's had like a part. Mine had like a track in the front. And only the girls are going to know what that means.
Starting point is 00:25:40 But like it's basically like starting the middle of a wig in the very front. Like there was no hiding that was a wig. And there was this little girl at the birthday party. Everybody bought into it. But there was one little girl at the birthday. party that was like, you ain't Elsa. And I was like, oh, damn. That's something that.
Starting point is 00:25:58 That's something that. She was like, that's not a lace fraud. She was like, embarrassed. She was 57, she was 57 years old. She was embarrassed for me. That's hilarious. All right. We got some stuff.
Starting point is 00:26:10 And as I said, I switched this up on not only you because I switched up on myself. And yesterday, they debuted Grand Dept Auto 6. And they debuted it on on Netflix. And you know, it's funny, people kept saying, you should do reaction to it. You should do reaction to it. And I was going to. And then I said, you know what, I'm not going to pretend that I know all this stuff because I don't. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:26:32 I don't know enough about it. I played a few of the games. I can't remember which one, the one of Miami and everything too. And I, and I always like playing the games. I think they're really, they're really solid. They're great games. But I don't, I'm not going to pretend that I'm like this expert on Grand Theft Auto. I'm not.
Starting point is 00:26:50 What I did see from watching the trailer is I could not believe how great these graphics were. I mean, it looked real. Like, it looked like I was playing an actual movie at times. You know, when you look at like just the gameplay they were showing, like the opening scene when the guy is like walking through with his girlfriend and like this whole drug bust thing happens and it's, it's a blasting people. It's a back. It's crazy. Then they show like actual gameplay where you see the stuff in the streets and it's nuts. So there have been a lot of leaks this week, but Rockstar Games has finally revealed.
Starting point is 00:27:20 What Grand Theft Auto 6 has to offer in a jaw-dropping first look at gameplay from long-a-wayed sequel. The 26-minute trailer is up on Netflix. If you're wary of spoilers, we advise checking out the clips. Okay, so actually it's on YouTube as well. Now, after week leaks, they got the look on Netflix, a 26-minute sneak peek, pulled back the curtain on what to expect, and it doesn't seem premature to say it could be one of the best games ever made. Vice City feels alive and whether it's interacting with the NPCs, robbing stores, getting into shootouts or even parachuting off scoes.
Starting point is 00:27:50 skyscrapers, it's apparent the game will push the current generation of consoles to their limits. The world itself looks very interactive. That's what I got out of it too, watching this stuff. While you have to head to Netflix for the full sneak peek, several clips have been shared on social media. Racing on the streets on a circuit, off-road seems to be playing a big role in the game. There's just so much here, Jen. I was like I, the thing that, like I said, that just really stood out to me was the graphics. I couldn't believe how, I mean, you felt, again, I felt like I was looking at a movie.
Starting point is 00:28:24 They've come a long way from where we started this kid, that's for sure, right? Yeah. You remember playing all of the old school stuff. Crazy. Now it's like, now it just looks like you're in a movie, you know? Yeah. I saw that it was like, there was a lot of nods to, what is it, Red Debt Red Debt Redemption. There was a lot of that.
Starting point is 00:28:43 It was interesting because my ex-boyfriend used to play Red Debt Redemption. and like he wouldn't play the actual video game he would just go in and fish why should look around and see ask your cat your cat was going to be okay because my new boyfriend is here and I'm like I want to be respectful I like that I like that he's not that he's not that type yeah but anyways so but yeah that's why my cameras turned this way because I'm like I don't need him walking down the stairs and being like hello everyone totally um well that's yeah I'm with you used to go into Red Dead and he would play and he would play just the fishing level. And I was like, so let me get this straight. On a game that you're supposed to rob people and, you know, do all of these terrible things, you're like, I'm just going to sit here and fish. And he's like, I rob and I maim. And he goes, but someone's got to feed this camp.
Starting point is 00:29:41 And I was just like, what are we doing here, bud? It's hilarious that it's that active, interactive, and you can, I can't even imagine. It's relaxing. See, even the comments section is like, yeah, that's what I do too. I can't even imagine. I can't imagine what this game is going to accomplish. First impressions, though, from the trailer was graphics are amazing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:07 It's so funny that they're like, this doesn't take place in Florida, but it definitely takes place in South Florida. it was giving like the main character was giving like if Vin Diesel and Paul Walker had a baby yeah totally right like both of them where they're like we don't want to be too on the nose but like let's be real the female is definitely letty S you know um but yeah I yeah I have some thoughts on I have some thoughts on it
Starting point is 00:30:38 but I don't want to be a party pooper but I'm also like What's the thought? You know what? Some of the voice acting in that trailer, it's so weird. Because it's like, you wonder how much they're sharing with these people. Like, you and I both kind of know how these gigs go down. I don't know if people know this. I do a lot of VEO work.
Starting point is 00:30:55 Mine's mostly for, like, trailers or for, like, intros of shows. I do the voice of, like, the LPGA tour. But, like, so it's not, like, acting per se. But I always get a little tripped up where I'm like, did they tell you what was going on in the scene? Because sometimes the lines are red in a way that you're like, oh, they had no idea how this was going to be used.
Starting point is 00:31:20 They were just asked to do this line. And if you don't give them the exact, the exact like parameters, sorry, I don't know what this is. Yeah. I don't know what I came from. Yeah. But if you don't give them like the exact thing they're looking for, like it just comes off kind of stilted
Starting point is 00:31:38 or like the line feels like, it'll jolt you out of place, you know? Yeah, you know, it's funny, though, I don't, I think for these games, even though, yeah, the story is going to be an important part of it. I don't think it's like the most crucial thing. I think it's because it's such an interactive world and the things you can do and be able to do in the side things that you,
Starting point is 00:31:56 like you said, when it comes to Red Dead redemption, you're fishing, you know, and what are the side ones going to be? Do you want to start a meth business? Maybe, maybe, probably. I'm sure. I'm sure there's going to be some. Just you're going to all the different.
Starting point is 00:32:09 CVS is and try to buy some, you have to show your ID every time. So you're like, oh, no, I got to get fakes. Like, yeah, yeah, so it's locked. You got to find a picket with a fork or a plastic fork that you have in your car from the drive. Yeah, you got to ring the bell to get the people. I don't know if they do that everywhere else. You have to go through the drive and order a sandwich or order some kind of food and use the fork from the, from the food place.
Starting point is 00:32:31 But it's like, it's like that details. I don't do that my real life. I'm going to do that. They're giving us fake jobs in these video games. I don't like it. No, but I am, look, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, it looks fun. It looks fun. It looks It looks fun. It looks fun. It brings to the question that I posed in the, in the, in the, in the, in the, this is going to be, and, uh, and I, uh, and I think most people will agree with this. This is going to be the biggest video game of all time. Now, I'd like to, I mean, they've had enough time to get this done.
Starting point is 00:33:02 Yeah, right, right. I don't have PLD here today, but usually he's my fact guy, and I would love to see like, hey, PLD, what is, what's the deal? What is the most profitable video game of all time? And I bet you this game shatters it. I bet you it's a chatter. I mean, look. Yeah. I think it's going to be the most profitable game of all time. Dungeon Fighter online grossed over 22 billion while Minecraft sold $3,000. 50 to 400 million copies. So yeah, there you go. What did the last GTA do? What did GTA 5 do? What did GTA 5 do? That would be, I'm curious. Money wise.
Starting point is 00:33:50 Yeah, money wise. GTA 5, they said made $2 billion in the first day, is what somebody said. Yeah. 10 billion in total revenue since 2013. Right. Over 10. Wild. And I think I think
Starting point is 00:34:02 Billion. Billion. Yeah, this will beat that. I'm going to ask me, hey, GTA people. Do me a favor. Fund my campaign in the first 15 minutes when it comes up. Well, Christian, you know, if your character gets out and robs people from him. He's got, I think he has bad knees.
Starting point is 00:34:23 But either way, we're excited for this game. I think it's going to be interesting. So put your thoughts in there, guys. Are you pumped for GTA 6? Do you think it's going to be the most problem? game of all time let us know i have you been paying attention to the stuff going on with the dc u at all with james gun and you know yes so did you what did you like uh well first of all did you like it and welcome to dairy did you watch any of those um i have not watched those uh i'm still
Starting point is 00:34:52 i need to i need to get caught up with it i didn't watch the second one if i'm being on that's fair i had a lot i had a lot going on i think welcome to dairy is phenomenal and I loved what Andy Muscietti. It looks that way. I loved it. I loved what he did with it. Did you see The Flash? I have, but such a long time ago.
Starting point is 00:35:09 Okay. So the Flash to me, everybody, like most people... I didn't know there'd be so much homework for today's episode. That's fine. Most people hate it. Most people hate it. Well, there was a lot going on around the franchise. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:35:23 And that can sour you on stuff. The beginning of the movie sucks. The end of the movie sucks. But I like... That is basically what I remember watching. Yeah, I remember the core of it was pretty good. And I don't know how much, I think Ezra Miller had a lot to do with people going, eh, I'm good.
Starting point is 00:35:37 Yeah, that's why I remember going, oh, I don't need to see this. Right. But Andy Mochetti, after, before that movie even came out, was, said, yep, he's going to be doing Brave in the Bowl for us in this new DCU. And then there was like, all, after that movie came out, then there was like, yeah, is he really going to do it? And are they going to do Craven the Bold? Who knows? the other day Mandy Mochetti was on some podcast or no that's not true someone had said that they spoke to any muscietti and he said I don't know what's going on they're going to wait for the paramount merger I don't know I haven't heard anything about it to which then James Gunn said well wait a minute
Starting point is 00:36:11 I don't believe that any mochetti would say that but no it's still going forward and so now there's a new report and that is that Annie mochetti now the rumor is that he is definitely not doing Batman the brave and the bold but the movie itself is still going. So you might hear a familiar name in here, Jen. We've heard mixed reports about this. I saw that. The past few months, but according to the latest rumor, Andy Mochetti, will not be directing Batman the Brave and the Bold. During this week's episode of the Hot Mike, Jeff Schneider said he's heard that the Brave and the Bold is actually further along that people think and DC Studios is aiming to get the movie into production next year. Snyder adds that he doesn't know if Mochetti will helm or if Gunn will direct himself, but theorizes that the
Starting point is 00:36:58 recent welcome to Derry Season 2 news might be the impetus for the Flash director officially announcing these parted ways with the project. Gunn recently debunked to rumor that Batman the Brave and the Bold had been put on hold until the merger is settled. But even when if the movie does enter production, will Andy Muscietti be at the helm? The news broke that Muscietti had been chosen to helm the project, Gunn and fellow DC Studios co-Peter CEO Peter Safron said they enlisted him based on the strength of his work on the Flash. So before the Flash had theaters and the movie's underperformance at the box office led to speculation that
Starting point is 00:37:28 Muscietti might have been taken all the project. Last we heard, Muschetti was still attached, but John Roka believes that there's no way he's going to direct the movie. Roka says, Muscietti thing, I think, is absolutely ridiculous. I said it almost two years ago. He's not on the project from my sources. He's still connected to WB and DC. He's not doing the movie.
Starting point is 00:37:45 Okay. So that comes from, you're speaking of Shmowdown. It comes from two Shmodown legends. Legends. Legends. Now, the question is how much things change, how much, I still think the merger is something to be paying attention to. However, one of the things we didn't really talk about it.
Starting point is 00:38:08 Everything's in an absolute standstill, I think, at D.C. right now. That's what I thought, and that's what I said. That's what I've heard. Yes, but what Snyder says there, that they've been kind of fast-tracking it. And maybe the reason they are fast-tracking it is to say, you know, put everything together. now as much as you can before we have to answer to these guys and we can make the movie we want to do and push it together go go go and that's why they're doing this secret thing with you know ajorahona she's i mean i don't know if you saw the pictures of her she's all jacked that she's playing
Starting point is 00:38:37 maxima and maxima's all jacked up like that's stupid she's gonna she's gonna play wonder woman um and they start to build into you know the the big three so yeah i just i still i don't love the idea that they're going with Batman as a dad now and he's doing this. Like I think they should go back and reestablish a new Batman in the same way they were reestablished a new Superman. But if they do it and they're pushing forward with this, I do not see a world where Muscietti does it. But do you think he's going to do it or how are you feeling about it?
Starting point is 00:39:12 I don't. And I'm really, I'm not seeing it. And honestly, like I honestly forgot how bad some of the stuff in the flash wasn't in the comment section reminded me. It's almost like, remember the baby. babies in the microwave. I remember being like, babies in the microwave.
Starting point is 00:39:29 Who saw Indiana Jones get in the refrigerator and was like, we can want up this. You know what I mean? And that is a great point because that looked a thousand times more realistic in Indiana Jones than that stupid CGI baby did. So bad. I did see somewhere that like they were saying
Starting point is 00:39:48 that gun might be putting his hands more on it. I think that's a mistake. I do too. I mean, look, here's the thing. I get, like, directors having, like, their calling card. You know what I mean? Like, where you go, oh, this is definitely their thing. But especially after seeing the response to Superman and Supergirl,
Starting point is 00:40:10 I'm like, I don't know that, I don't know that every movie in the DC has to have that touch on it. You know what I mean? Like, it just feels kind of like, remember when they handed off? when they handed off that one movie was it was it Batman the Superman to Joss Whedon or was that oh it's Justice League it was Justice League yeah it was Justice League yeah it was just too confused but yeah um but yeah I remember when they handed it off to Joss Whedon and like the tone just
Starting point is 00:40:38 felt weird like everything would be super serious everyone would be dark and it would be in the moment all the sudden it'd be like and we were all just like what what it doesn't it doesn't vibe it doesn't feel the same. And that's what I was trying to tell people the other day, where did you, have you been watching lanterns? Not yet. No. It's good. It's really good. And it's a very different tone. But it's not a, like a, it's not a tone. It's not so far off that you can't believe that, that all this stuff exists, you know, because there's, it's not like, you know, when Nolan does his, or Matt Reeves do their Batman universe, you don't, you can't really see like Superman flying around because it's, they, they poise it as if this is all real.
Starting point is 00:41:20 right um in lanterns they have a serious kind of true detective tone but they establish very quick that there's otherworldly stuff going on there the ring has powers they and they do it in a very um i think solid everything i've seen about lanterns is just rave reviews so i'm hoping that this is a step in the right direction for dc you know that was their big push at comic on correct but that's what i'm saying and why i agree with what you just said before which is then you have a tone that you compare it to Superman Supergirl, very different tones. And I don't know what they're trying to do overall. And it's like, because this is the only project.
Starting point is 00:42:01 I know he didn't direct Supergirls. He directed, he was a producer on it, but he had a lot of his stamp on it. It had a lot of stamp on it. 100%. This is the only project so far that felt like he just said, okay, guys, go and do your thing. And let's see how it comes out. And it's like that as a studio has what you should do. And if you're also taking on Batman and Manit Tomorrow, then it's not DC anymore.
Starting point is 00:42:24 It's just James Gunn's version of, of DC. It's just not James Gunn is helping tell DC stories. It's like, this is James Gunn. He's doing everything. He doesn't trust anybody else to do anything. He's got to take on Batman. He's doing Superman. He's doing the sequel to Superman.
Starting point is 00:42:39 It's like it's too much. And that's the thing is I feel like, and correct me if I'm wrong, Marvel's always felt very cohesive. Like you've seen one Marvel. You've seen it all. like it's kind of and that's honestly what kind of makes some of the marvel material like hard to remember all of it i'd say after phase three i'd say after phase three that's that's true i think there's a lot of stuff that they did in the first three phases where they tried to change things up in tone and give directors some style like whether there's spy thrillers or crime things or anything they
Starting point is 00:43:10 they changed it up and then i think they got lost into the formulaic stuff for a while yeah exactly because they were just like well if it ain't broke don't fix it you know but i feel like dc's always been willing to try things with different tonalities. And, but I think you also have to be careful and remind the people that are directing it and writing it, like, hey, let's also remember the world that these people exist in cohesively. Like, how are we going to bring all of this together, you know? Yeah. And that's honestly what I'm curious to see about with the new doomsday is. It has felt different on the Marvel side of stuff.
Starting point is 00:43:46 It has felt different leading up to this doomsday. thing where like the pieces feel like they have a little more texture and are a little different from each other so i'm curious to see how they fit all of those together me too um but with with the with the with you dc stuff it's like i don't need batman with needle drops do you know i mean i don't need batman with a lot of jokes either and and jokes and jokes that are just like you know everybody's got a joke it's like that's that's another thing i really like about lanterns is that there's humor in it but it's it's again balanced out in the way even John Stewart who is not he's a very he's the straight man in it but there's moments even with him in the first episode when he's this thing that happens at
Starting point is 00:44:31 the bar I won't spoil it for people who haven't seen it but it's like it's his delivery and the moment itself and his interaction then with with how it's like a funny moment and it's like that's the kind of stuff it's real it's and it plays better than saying oh no and now and so and so this guy the bar's going to pop up and say something really funny I thought about it when I was taking shit this morning and I think that would be really funny if you're if he says that. And then it's like, no,
Starting point is 00:44:52 it just feels like not that great. And I think some of the comments section might be misunderstanding me. So like, I feel like, I'm not, I'm not saying I don't, I didn't enjoy Superman.
Starting point is 00:45:03 I actually, I enjoyed Superman and I enjoyed hot take. I enjoyed Supergirl for what it was, you know? I wanted to love it though. And I wanted to think like, oh, this is, and I enjoyed it.
Starting point is 00:45:14 I found there was still a lot of heart in it. But what made me appreciate, Supergirl for what it actually was was when I went to Comic-Con and I dressed up as her. Okay. And the number of little girls every child under the age of 14 stopped me to take a picture because my costume, one, my costume was fire. But two,
Starting point is 00:45:36 better wig? That's way better wig. But but, you know, I, I, that's who that movie was for. You know, it was to like boot up the next generation. of younger people. And that said, like, if that was the choice for that movie, it made some of the choices that that character made kind of, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:45:58 aggressive just because, like, some of it felt like it was so geared towards kids and younger generations. And then, like, some of the choices she made you were like, oh, that was pretty graphic for a supergirl type movie, whereas, I don't know, like, the tone, the tone was. The tone was weird. Yeah. It was weird.
Starting point is 00:46:15 I didn't think it was as horrible as everyone thought, but it wasn't good. But it wasn't good. And either way now, the other movie, we mentioned Lanner's having a different tone. Now, just because it has a different tone and doesn't feel like a gun stamp doesn't mean that, oh, well, then it's going to crush. Because as much as I want Playface to annihilate, right now, the box office track, this is a disappointing story for me because I really want this to do well. I really want this movie to do well.
Starting point is 00:46:47 And so right now, the track. Tracking is not a great sign for DC and comic book movie says very early box office tracking for DC Studios. Clayface has been revealed and while there's still time to turn things around, awareness among non-fans is currently lower than it should be. Supergirl concluded its run at the Worldwide box office at a mere 126. That's brutal. The losses for DC and Winterbo's discovery were significant and that would likely be the last movie revolving around the woman tomorrow that fans get for a long time.
Starting point is 00:47:15 Millie Alcock will return as Kara Zorrell in next summer's manna tomorrow, which is a movie James Gunn, Peter Saffron, are banking on being a much bigger success. In the meantime, there's Clayface, which lower budget horror movie with an R rating. The movie, which like every DCU project so far doesn't feature an A-list lead. As October 23 fast approaches, we've had a teaser, a trailer, entertainment weekly feature, but it seems DC Studios needs to boost excitement. According to analysts, Brandon Katz, 57 days before it's release, Clayface awareness is lagging for film. Com said at similar pre-release point, 32% versus 38% average, but opening weekend intent is nearly two times higher per Greenlight Analytics. Small audiences are locked in. Desire is there and needs more reach. To be clear, I'm not knocking WB. He continued. Most wide-release promotional campaigns kick at six weeks pre-release with the bulk of the spend in the last three, just sharing long lead comp tracking patterns. There is time to increase the lack of awareness. However, the odds may be stacked against Clayface for non-common book readers. The character is an unknown and trailers have been nothing to connect him to Batman, one of DC's most popular heroes.
Starting point is 00:48:20 It's something of a horror resurgence right now, but Clayface has a lot in common with the substance and whether it's bringing anything new to the table for picking moviegoers has yet to be determined. And let's see. Okay. So this kind of bums me out because I really want this to succeed because I like the idea. This is one of the things I really did like what DC announced was they were going to do like these lower budget movies in the vein of like, you know, A-24 or whatever they might be, these kind of horror movie, low budget things,
Starting point is 00:48:49 Blum House, whatever, and give it a shot to see what they could do. And they mentioned the substance, and not only is maybe similar to the substance, the other than the substance had is that it had Margaret Qualley and it had Demi Moore, right? And it's not necessarily those two actresses like, oh, I got to see the next Margaret Cuelly and Demi Moore movie.
Starting point is 00:49:08 I'm going to buy tickets. No, I think Demi Moore is having a moment. Of course she is. No, of course she is. But movie stars don't sell tickets. anymore. It's the movie that the movie stars in. And if the movie, like, you, back in the day, Will Smith
Starting point is 00:49:21 and Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts, they're in a movie. You don't care what it is. You buy the ticket. That doesn't happen anymore. Now, what I'm saying is the reason why the substance had a cool premise, but it also did well because Margaret Cuelly and Demi Moore were in it. So we're in agreement there. I'm just saying that if it's just like, if you didn't know what the movie was, you're like, well, Demi Moore and Margaret Cuelly are in a movie. Okay, I don't know what it is, but I'm going to buy a ticket. That doesn't happen anymore as much.
Starting point is 00:49:44 Yeah. But now with this movie with Clayface, the guy might be great, but I don't know who's in it. Now, it doesn't matter to me. I'm going to see it. You got to have someone in it that has name recognition, even if it's not the main. If you want to cast an unknown as the main, I'm cool with that. Honestly, it helps some. Me too.
Starting point is 00:50:02 Me too. It kind of helps people like disappear into the film. But you got to have some hook. Like who is the person that's going to be the box office straw that people are interested in seeing? you know right somebody that i totally agree with yeah somebody that adds a little juice but listen you and i both know this is too far out like people aren't spending money the way they used to and i think that it's really not fair to the movie to go oh people aren't buying as many advanced tickets and it's like yeah dude like that's just people's money getting tighter it's like i don't care i'm like what rugs
Starting point is 00:50:45 you're like you would have to be living under a rug to not know that we're like in a recession right now and so like people's spending habits are going to be different when it comes to entertainment you know what what they also need to do and this this is proven true with both backrooms and obsession when it comes to the horror movies that did well the major number and the demographic were young younger people you've got you've got to market this movie to the younger horror films and yeah you got to be pushing it out on social media. You have to be pushing it out on all of the horror YouTube channels, you know? Yeah, but you know what, Jen? This is the thing that I have made this point about that I think is going to be a thing that might be the scary thing. I don't think the Gen Z or whatever
Starting point is 00:51:31 the young, Gen Alpha is my, my youngest, right? But Gen Z is my daughter, my oldest. And they don't care about Star Wars and they don't care about Marvel. They don't care about the comic book movies as much. They just don't care about it as much as like the, you know, millennials and Gen X. They just don't. And the horror movies, those other things, they certainly do. Now, the thing that I'm worried that happens is they start to market it towards the Gen Z crowd. And then they go, oh, it's a comic book movie. Good. Yeah. You know, like that could happen. Yeah. They do think that were pretty cringe. Right. Totally. When it comes to our, uh, our family you like yeah yeah totally so so i don't have the things that we like gen z like i i know i'm with you
Starting point is 00:52:21 i do think that they need to be marketing it to younger audiences but without losing the crux of like what it's about you know what i mean um i think not marketing it as a a comic book movie is smart yeah uh because the people that know it's a comic book movie know it's a comic book movie you know I think you're right. I think that horror is having a resurgence right now. It always does when you look at the track record of like when big horror movies pop off. It's when there's huge times of uncertainty. You know, there was another boom back in 2020.
Starting point is 00:52:54 I wonder what was happening then. Because people, I love the psychology of like horror movies and like why they make money and why they get made at certain times more than others. And we are in a horror boom right now. So like I hope DC can capitalize off of this. You know, I went and I saw teenage sex and death at Camp Measma the other night. Have you seen it? No.
Starting point is 00:53:20 It's fun. It's surrealist. You know what he means? So like you have to, if you go in knowing, listen, I didn't walk out of it like I did. I heart boosters, okay? That should be an ongoing thing. You have to bring up eye heart boosters at least once or twice when you're on the show. And everybody goes, what?
Starting point is 00:53:37 But no, I've never. Yeah. I knew what I was walking into with this one. And I've also, I'm working on my own horror project right now. So, like, I'm deep in that genre. I'm taking an online, like, graduate class on, like, women and feminism and horror and things like that. And so, like, I loved how they tied so much of it together in this film. I went just to be like, I hope they didn't steal my idea.
Starting point is 00:54:07 I mean, they got into the finish line first, but you know how much that exists in our industry. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, oh, yeah, you didn't expect me to know. You didn't know I knew Ball. Someone's like, I didn't expect she would go to see Camp Miasma. No, but I thought it was a fun movie. Yeah, Hannah Eindler was great. Gillian was basically doing her best Dolly Parton impression, but I still loved it, you know?
Starting point is 00:54:37 Yeah, oh good, that's cool. I mean, look, there's a lot of stuff that is working in the genre, and it kind of transitions us into our next story. Because if you look at Zach Craigers who did, look, I hadn't seen Barbarian before. And then I watched it for the first time with my friend Tina, and I loved it. And then I went and saw weapons, and I loved that even more. Yeah. So I couldn't have given a shit about Resident Evil until I heard that he was doing it.
Starting point is 00:55:05 And now talking about tracking, that is tracking pretty good. That looks like it's going to open pretty well. And I just stopped watching trailers because I'm, I'm, I'm ready to, I'm ready to go. The earliest. When is that release? When is that coming out? I think that comes out in September.
Starting point is 00:55:22 Yeah, see, but like you got to, you got to give time, give stuff time to cook. Yeah, you know. So it's like, so the earliest box office tracking estimates are coming for weapons and barbarian filmmakers at Craigers, New Resident Evil film. And did I say Robert Crueger? Gregors before? I'm in Zach. They're looking good.
Starting point is 00:55:39 I didn't take my Adderall before this. No, I think I said Robert. I get the two of them mixed up. According to Global Box Office, the film is charting 51% awareness and 52% interest on greenlight analytics with the outlet claiming that tracking suggests it could be the biggest domestic debut for both Craigor and the Resident Evil franchise. They don't give a number, but the highest opening weekend for the franchise was Resident Evil afterlife with 26.7, while Craigor, it was Weapons with 43. box office pro is being more conservative claiming it will come in just under weapons with an opening in the 30 to 40 million range the only other film opening in the next few weeks doing that kind of business is practical magic two which is yeah that that's going to do it really well uh which is tip to debut in the 35 to 45 million range uh tickets for the new resume practical magic two did the casting right in terms of like hitting all the demos because like look they brought back to stars which is for people like me that like that we grew up on this this is what we love this is what we love this is what we love this is This is for every girl that's ever been like, I'm a witch, you know?
Starting point is 00:56:39 Every girl's had that era. You know, Christian. I remember dressing up. We should have seen my wig. But then they also cast people like Joey King and like younger generation, like people that younger generation are into, you know? It was the, it's the COBRA Khy formula. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:58 And it's the really smart way to go about it because you're bringing both generations. I think that's what they needed to do. And the other course, I don't know what the budget is for practical magic to. gone of the days when you got both of those ladies back well they put some money out for that maybe but one of the things they're both they're both Nicole kittman and sandra bullock are very smart on the back end deals oh yeah yeah so they might have taken a deal where they're not getting you know the the 15 16 million dollars that they used to get they might they might have taken a pay cut in order to get it done which i think would probably be the better move
Starting point is 00:57:32 if the studio was going to offer it. But who knows? I don't know what the budget is for it. Let me look. Let me see. Practical magic. Listen, this is probably going to get me in trouble. There's people in the comments like,
Starting point is 00:57:45 I didn't even know what a practical magic. Does anybody nostalgic for practice? Yeah, women. I hate to break this to you. There's quite a few of us. And some of us have spending powers. So yeah, they're going to make some nostalgia stuff for us too. Okay.
Starting point is 00:57:59 We want to see our old heroes and women that we grew up with. whose faces have somehow not changed in 20 plus years. We want to see them again. You know what I mean? Well, that is the magic question. It has to be for you. I saw some stuff on the internet I didn't like once and I just kept scrolling. But the magic, pun intended, I guess, question for that will be,
Starting point is 00:58:22 will people show up to the theater for it? Yes. You think so? Yes, I know women that are, they're making watch parties for this stuff. I'm just asking the question because it is harder to get people in the theater these days, especially for that age, because they can pick up the thing, they can hit the remote. And you look at something like He-Man was nostalgic for dudes and nobody went and saw it, but it crushed on Amazon Prime. Crushed. But I'm guilty of that too.
Starting point is 00:58:50 Right. But I mean, I had a lot of stuff going on around He-Man. You know what I mean? I think practical magic is a sisterhood type movie. Like I already know girls who are planning girls like nights out around this movie. So I do think there's a lot of buzz around it, at least for women. And then it could. The question is, does it hold after week one?
Starting point is 00:59:15 I hope that the answer is yes, because I think that would be a good sign for those types of movies. And people love Sandra Bullock and she's been away for a while, you know? So that's another thing that would be great to. Sandra Bullock has a chokehold on me when it comes to seeing a movie in a movie theater because to me she's still like a movie star. You know what I mean? Like I loved her in the movie she did with
Starting point is 00:59:38 Was it Lost City with Channing Tatum? That was a girl's night. That was a girl's night for us. That was a good movie. Yeah, it was a great movie. I like that movie a lot. The aunties are back or someone wrote that's very funny. I like that movie. I like it.
Starting point is 00:59:51 That got me out to theaters. It got me out with a group of women to the theaters. Were we drugs? yes two of us were i was the dd but man it was fun you know what's funny is i've never seen the original um i know i need i need to and i'm a big saint i'm a msandra bullock i like you weren't really the target demo christian maybe not but i've seen a lot of those things too you be surprised how many julia roberts movies i've seen but uh i have do you have an older
Starting point is 01:00:16 sister no i don't that's the that's the key any guy that has an older sister i can talk about I can quote mean girls. I can quote clueless. Like if you have a sister, you know practical magic too. You're no practical magic. I know. I'm probably going to have to watch that with somebody on the channel. Okay. So that's pretty much everything that we got going on as far as the movie news goes. So put your thoughts in there. What do you think about Resident Evil? You're excited to see. Do you want to see? You're going to see practical magic too? Put your thoughts in there. Let us know. Okay. So Jen's got to try to do the unthinkable here and beat. I think she's going to have to try be Chris Carr because Chris Carr had a hell of a performance yesterday but right now
Starting point is 01:00:56 working with five I think we can get what do you mean so there's five questions no way we do it is we usually have oh wait you know is that true how many do we have in there I'm looking I didn't know there'd be a quiz dude you can't do this wait a minute hold on it's actually not true oh no oh no why do I feel like this is a bit no it's not so the questions the the super chats that come in usually what I have it Luke I'm I'm having a, I don't know if you see it. I see five, oh, you know why? It's like, I have five questions in here and they're all the, for the, the, the,
Starting point is 01:01:29 the Kickstarter. But where are the actual ones? Oh, damn it. I got to get all the, I got to bring it up through, um, YouTube because they're all, they've all disappeared. So basically the way it works is that we have, um, whoever gets the most amount of, um, a monetization, whoever gets a bonus, but you're not a person, you're not, you're not one of the cast members, but it's still a nice, uh,
Starting point is 01:01:52 It's still a nice cat to have. So let's see. I listen, I crushed the last time I appeared. Like, I was getting like $200. Like, I mean, he cleaned up. I didn't see a penny of that, Christian. You didn't win that week. You didn't win that weekend.
Starting point is 01:02:09 No, that way. Just he broke the pull out his boobs? That's the only way. One, two. Actually, there's more. I was like, only five, that's making sense. So here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to bring this up here and do it this way,
Starting point is 01:02:20 because that didn't make any sense. to me whatsoever so here let's do this we're going to start with the questions now and and while christian's doing that please go follow his kickstarter it's at 958 i think we can do a thousand i think we can do a thousand thank you john i think so too let's see and here's the one that um i have luke look look put this one up there too it just it's hard when pld he's not here where is it is it down here i got to find all these freaking stats and everything there was like a whole stat that they did for the Kickstarter and I don't know where it is on the lower third so there it is got it uh broke up pulled out the mass mother I know uh there you go that's that's that's that's that and now
Starting point is 01:03:01 so what I'm going to do is I'm going to bring this up and I think that Jen and I will be able to see it if I go here hold on one two is a two of us we'll be here soon and I hate this hate it so much Lou can you pop in here and show where you can show both Jen and I where the no but you got to show both of us they don't want to see me because where is it it's that's right here
Starting point is 01:03:30 and then we're going to go to the bottom and there it is right there okay can you see the two of us no there's like a there's one yeah there perfect perfect okay great all right so let's start with this one and mattie b
Starting point is 01:03:45 who says good afternoon Christian and Jen Christian will you be showing Sam Blue Beetle at some point since he'll be returning in The Man of Tomorrow. You know, I think the answer is probably yes to that because of what you just said, but it probably won't be until next year when I show her that. But yeah, did you like Blue Beetle? Did you see it, Jen? I thought it was pretty good.
Starting point is 01:04:10 It was one of the last kind of DC-EU movies, but I thought it was pretty good. What came out around the same time of it? Because I did feel like it got buried, if I'm not mistaken. And I was going to the movie theaters at the time because, like, there was a lot of signage up for it. But I just remember being like, there's so much to see, you know. It was either late 2023 or early 2024 because I definitely saw it in L.A. And I remember seeing Ash Cross in there and telling her that I was moving to New York. So that was either, it might have been late 2023, I think.
Starting point is 01:04:45 But the answer is yes, I will be doing that. showing Sam. Okay, let's see. Next one. And we've got Ron H. Happy Friday all. Welcome to Thrust and meeting with BBC. Nobody or Ivory today, but that don't stop BBC from Thrustin. GTA 6, the biggest, even bigger than BBC. Who knows? You haven't met Ron H yet, really, have you, Jen? Mm-mm. You're about to. Oh, you know why I didn't see Blue Beetle? Is it because it was right after Oppenheimer and Barbie? And I had like, I, after I went and I watched Opens, Heimer in IMAX when everyone was like you have to go see it in IMAX and then I was like it took place in an office I was like I need a break from movies I love that movie though um Ron H asked what happened to
Starting point is 01:05:34 Winston you and white and female just kidding hello Sturger I am Ron H I apologize in advance for future annoyances no no worries Ron Winston had to do had worked today and then I He's a very busy man. He is. He is. He is. He is. He is.
Starting point is 01:05:51 Did you know that I helped with his, uh, his engagement scavenger hunt? No. That's great. Yeah. That was fun. I was like, are you, men, we don't want scavenger hunts. No, we're bad. We don't.
Starting point is 01:06:05 Now we're bad at it. We don't, we don't want scavenger hunts. We are tired. Don't make us go on a day long journey for a ring. Right. We don't get more door to get engaged. Please don't do it. Don't do it.
Starting point is 01:06:17 I'm with you. Easy for shezy. Will Doomsday hit 3 billion? Will Spider-Man hit 3 billion? GTA6 is guaranteed to make over 1 billion on its release. Biggest entertainment launch of all time. And do you know the whole did you shit in there things? Do you know that?
Starting point is 01:06:34 Do I? Did you shit in there? Talk to us dogs. Dog wind up taking a big dump right in the middle of the show. It was absolutely hilarious. It's always, it's always Mike's dog too. It's not Shannon's dog. Do you know how many sound bites Mike has given us?
Starting point is 01:06:52 I was there for that one. Either that or it happens on a regular basis. Mike. Milk that teat. Got to milk that teat. For someone who's not a dad, he's got like that millennial dad, like slightly perverted humor that you're just like,
Starting point is 01:07:16 bro, what are you doing? 100%. Look at these knockers. I forgot. He's actually Gen X X Zillennial, if I'm not mistaken. A titty shake from the ladies? He just
Starting point is 01:07:31 doesn't stop. He loves boobs, man. He is. Sorry. Sorry. I apologize. What an idiot. Yeah, he really is.
Starting point is 01:07:46 Well, you know why, Roxy? Because I'm racist. That's why. he does always get brought he always gets brought into audition for cops and my goals like that and i'm just like but that's not who mike is but i think it's so funny that that's yeah the energy that like they're like yep this guy i'm just glad that i discovered that side of him even more so during the showdown because he was poised to be like the ultimate good guy and then he was like one of the best bad guys we ever had he he leaned in so hard that healed
Starting point is 01:08:19 turn. Oh, yeah. You really did. And you didn't know, like, he reveled in it. He used to have so much fun with it. So, yeah. Yeah. I think he was a great heel. Andrew guy. He's the best. Roku's
Starting point is 01:08:35 the first, probably the best. Chandrew was amazing. Chandrew was like goofy bad guy, though. You know what I mean? Like, not the same kind of bad guy. He was like, he was like, Ridler bad guy. 100%. Yes, he was absolutely
Starting point is 01:08:53 like the riddler. He was absolutely like the riddler. Absolutely. You just want to punch him in the face just a little bit. But he was so good at it. But he was so good at it. Yeah, he was absolutely, he was so good at the crap talk that he could just lose himself in it. My favorite Chandrew moment is not Shmodown related.
Starting point is 01:09:11 It was when I was doing a comedy show and Chandrew was in the audience. And it was the very first time I think I'd ever talked about being neurodiversion. on stage and talked about like, yeah, when they put me on medication from my ADHD, that's when they found my autism. And I was like, and I was saying it in front of this room full of people because like Emma was there, Chandrew was there. And I just remember locking eyes with Chandrew in the audience and being like, this is like
Starting point is 01:09:38 finding out I was dead the whole movie. And then Chandrew looked at me and went, just this is going slow, why not? And I was like, so everyone saw it but me? That's hilarious. was like, wow. I'm like, why am I crying? Why am I crying looking at Chandru basically roasting me in the audience and being like, well, you know what? These are my people. I feel seen. I was like, I always wondered why I fit in so well on a trivia show about movies, you know? So, yeah, that's my, yeah, I found my people. And that's why I'm like, I am all for this
Starting point is 01:10:16 reunion happening. So please follow the Patreon. I'm not trying to plug it. Not the Patreon, Kickstarter. My Kickstarter. Yeah, you know what I mean. But I want them to know what you mean because Patreon, we're happy. But the Kickstarter, yes, Jen's right. And so as she just mentioned again, she's in. She's officially in.
Starting point is 01:10:37 Jen will, if we get this thing going fully funded in one day, 16-person tournament, Jen will be our behind-the-scenes interviewer, as she always was. And the best fully funded in two days, we'll get eight-person, fully funded through. We'll get a live event or if we get funded at all, we'll make sure that we, we have some kind of shmow down, but Jen will be involved. So that's a good thing. So I hope you guys, again, get excited there. We have right now, look at this.
Starting point is 01:11:01 We've got, how am I trying to see how many people there are? Hold on. Where is it? You said you just saw and you checked and it was 953. I have 963 right now. 963. So guys, we are less than 40 people away from 1,000. We got this.
Starting point is 01:11:22 So yeah, please and thank you. So let me just, I'm going to put that into the comment section. I'm going to read some more of these questions here. Hold on. Okay, here it is. I just put the link again. Let's see if we can get 40 people to come on and do it. I'm going to play it on the replay.
Starting point is 01:11:37 I'm going to put it at the pincom and also, so hopefully we do that. Okay, let's go to the next one here. And this one is from Larry Quorwitz. It says, yo, Christian, you'll be attending New York Comic-Con. Also, the new Allie G movie looks good. like what the OG film should have been psyched for trending. Thank you, Larry. As far as the trailer, look, I loved L.EG. I loved L.EG when it came out. I just, I kind of agreed with what Snyder and Rokic said last night. Is it, is it too little too late to do this movie? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:12:11 Did you see the trailer yet, Jen? Halagie. Yeah, there's a new L.A.G trailer, a new movie. No. Yeah, yeah. I was, I had that reaction. And when I saw the actual thing, yeah what was the how was the trailer are we allowed to watch it I don't know how these copyright things were
Starting point is 01:12:31 yeah I don't know if we can watch it now but if you want to watch it on it's I thought it was okay I thought it was okay we're talking about like the alley to you right yeah yeah I did not have that on my bingo
Starting point is 01:12:46 card for this year honestly but like you said is it is it too little too late that's what I'm worried about success with borah you know like I know and I don't know I just it's not hard of people that who don't know who he is I don't know let's see how it how it plays when you actually see the movie as far as New York Comic-Con goes I don't think I'm gonna go I went last year my although my daughter has been like hounded me she's like
Starting point is 01:13:10 you've never taken me to the damn to a Comic-Con any comic-con she got to take me one so she really um yeah so um anyway I might. I might go depending on, depending on my daughter, but I might, but I, I just think cons are behind me. No, because like, not for any other reason except I'm just, I'm just exhausted. Yeah. It's a, it's, it's, it's not for the faint of heart anymore. It's very, very crowded. Yeah, it is. I like going, but that's because, like, for me, it's kind of like adult Halloween. I love dressing up and I, I, I understand. Those type of things.
Starting point is 01:13:53 Yeah. Well, there is. There's David Jardaya. Perfect. What's up, David? Hey, all, thanks, Christian, for the great shout-out. Appreciate it. Also, I'd like to confirm you always pronounce my last name, right?
Starting point is 01:14:03 Oh, good. Or at least the way I prefer it. I want to recommend everyone to see Coyote v. Acme. I watched it last night. I had a great time. I've been wondering about that. Everyone's been saying it's amazing.
Starting point is 01:14:12 It could possibly rival who framed Roger Rabbit is one of the best live action animation hybrid movies. I've heard that. I've heard it was great. And, you know, and I had a screener for it, I had a screening for it. And I decided I'm going to wait for Sam. And when it comes out on digital, we're going to watch it together on the channel.
Starting point is 01:14:30 I think that's what I'm going to wind up doing when it comes out. So, but are you going to go see that in the theater? Yeah, it does look like a fun one to go see in theaters. And honestly, I just like to, anything that causes as much turmoil as this movie in terms of like just how many times they tried to shelve it. Now I'm in. now I'm like morbidly curious and like everyone that I know that's seen it is like yeah it's amazing so I think I'm going to have to go and see it um yeah to give it can't be I'm sorry I'm like I get distracted by the comments sometimes I know that's right I think we're gonna like we're having a
Starting point is 01:15:06 we're having a conversation with them I know I think we're gonna wind up doing is speaking of campy I think we're going to wind up doing a um a similar way that he does it where I'm gonna there's a different program where the hosts can't actually see the chat so they can just because it happens of everybody but they they they they don't concentrate it happens to everybody yeah
Starting point is 01:15:27 like I said I didn't I didn't take my Adderall today happens to everybody it happens to everybody my bad my bad I was actually just talking about who frame Roger Rabbit last week on my pod because I was just like that was one of the first movies
Starting point is 01:15:43 that I saw in theaters as a child oh wow yeah And that was low key. It was kind of an intense movie for kids. Like they kill cartoons. They kill cartoons. They do. Yeah, totally.
Starting point is 01:15:57 Like that, that shoe getting, yeah, the shoe getting melted in acid. I remember being like, that scarred me for forever. I also think Jessica Rabbit's the reason that I wanted fake boobs for sure. Jessica Rabbit was? Yeah, I was like, I need those. Whatever she's got, yes, that was. That was my awakening. Do you talk about it?
Starting point is 01:16:19 Have you ever talked about that on stage? What? The fact that Jessica Rabbit inspired you to get fake boobs. Yeah. I mean, not just that. I think my whole, my whole previous aesthetic in my past life was a NASCAR wife. Oh, that's. Right?
Starting point is 01:16:35 Like, go bigger, go home. You know, I was just, I was nothing but have. Southern roots. Yeah. It's just Southern Roots. Trey Porter, remember when GTA 6 was supposed to come out right after Mandu and Grogo open? The movie would have gone worse. but GTA stayed on that date.
Starting point is 01:16:50 You're probably right. I mean, the movie did. Yeah, people have left their couch. A lot of crossover with that. It didn't do well in the first place, but Trey's right.
Starting point is 01:16:57 Probably done even worse. Dancing Dog 60, GTA 6 looks like Channing Tatum. Yeah, he does kind of look. He's got that kind of crossover, but there are some shots of him that looked like a totally different guy.
Starting point is 01:17:08 That was the thing is it felt like they never settled on what he was supposed to look like. Right. Like you're not crazy, right? And you're like, is that his double? Like, what is that? No, I felt that way.
Starting point is 01:17:18 Okay. Sherlock, 277. I'm torn on GTA. It looks like, it looks good. I'm not happy with it just being a code in a box, along with it connecting to Sony's whole killing physical disc for games, along with the game being $100. Well, I think the $100 is going to be worth it because of the amount of detail and how long you're going to be able to play the thing. I think it's going to be. It's like 80 hours. I saw that. I think you're going to have enough for the $100 that it's going to be worth it and the amount of money they spent on it. So that part of it, although it seems like a big number when you really look at what they spent on it. and everything else too. Kind of makes sense. Now, as far as the physical side of it, I do understand that, and the fact that it's just a code in a box, I get it. I do understand that,
Starting point is 01:17:58 especially for people like ourselves who are just kind of the old school mentality and, you know, physical media. So, all right, Chris, A, fun fact about GTA6, a Devin, a development person, I guess,
Starting point is 01:18:15 in an interview said he finished his recent playthrough from February, and it took 80 hours just to finish the main story. Wow. I mean, it's a lot. That's what Jim was saying, though, right? 80 hours worth of stuff, it's a lot. Yeah, when you break it down by the hour, like in terms of pricing of entertainment,
Starting point is 01:18:33 like, that's nothing, you know? That's what I'm saying. It's really, it's going to be, I mean, shoot, though, to do that one freaking, just to finish the storyline, pretty nuts. Not to mention, you know, when you're doing your recreational meth building.
Starting point is 01:18:48 Right, we're getting the sandwich. Yeah. All right, here we go. Here's the next one. And that is Chris A, fun fact about Gt. Oh, we did that one, sorry. Chris, my issue with Gunn and Faloni is that they want to make their own stuff more than what should be prioritized for the overall DC and Star Wars cinematic universe. Thoughts, Christian, good luck with trending.
Starting point is 01:19:10 Thank you, Chris. Appreciate that. I'm with you on that. I agree. I think that that's the problem that both Gunn and Faloni are doing is that. that they have their ideas of what they think Star Wars and DC should, but it ceases to become Star Wars and it becomes Faloni, Star Wars, Guns, D.C. And I think that that, to me, is a problem.
Starting point is 01:19:34 It's so funny because, like, they actually kind of addressed some of the problems with modern-day filmmaking in the plot of Camp Miasma, which is the most as movies ever going to be mentioned on this show. But they talk a lot about just in terms of people wanting to put their stamp on certain franchises and like what all is involved in that. And I agree with a lot of it. And that is just like some of the woke stuff. Like it's sometimes they shove things. They try to fit things into boxes for like fan for either fan service or to chase fans that aren't theirs. And I'm just like, what are we doing?
Starting point is 01:20:12 Right. What are we doing betraying the source material that? like we all grew up with, the people that are paying the money to go see these more niche superhero movies. Like, what are we doing by changing them so much for like an odd?
Starting point is 01:20:26 Well, look what they do. They changed that whole Tom King story and they changed it around. I don't know. I think there's a lot of problems. Nathan Drake, I wrote the comment in the beginning about GTA6, but it was all in fun.
Starting point is 01:20:39 Oh, I know. I know you did. I know this isn't a gaming channel. The game does look incredible though. Listen, you're the whole reason I changed the freaking thing. And I know you were goofing around. I thought it was funny the way that you did that.
Starting point is 01:20:51 Was practical magic number one, even a big hit? It bombed. Did it? Maybe it kind of picked up life. Let's see. Practical magic. Box office module. Let's see how to do it.
Starting point is 01:21:05 Let's see. So it cost $70 million to make. 1989. Didn't only mean $94 million on a $75 million budget. so it probably did lose money, but it picked up a lot of steam, like on... Quote classic on video. Yeah. And I think that that's the thing is there's a lot of movies that are female leads that do that.
Starting point is 01:21:29 And I think that that's slowly starting to change in terms of like women going out to the movies. Like I said, I think enough time has passed and enough women, this I didn't know some girls were just so ready for this. I can't even tell you. I think it's changing how women consume movies. And I think like we want to go out and support the arts, you know, especially if it's stuff that gives us that nostalgia feel from back when, you know, things were simpler times, Christian. It's true.
Starting point is 01:22:00 I think you have a better shot. I think you have a better shot of this movie because we had this similar conversation when you were on last about Supergirl. And I was- Supergirl was still younger, though. I know. But older women. Yes.
Starting point is 01:22:12 And that's why I agree with you. this one i think you have a better shot with practical magic getting women into the theater than you did superman because a supergirl yeah because supergirl didn't bring in the female audience the way that they wanted to they hoped to but they didn't um well it's a different type it was a different type of character too you know a character and also and also just the comic book movie as opposed to what you're talking about the age demographic that you're going after the subject matter in general the the the blending of both the generations you have a good i understand why you take this shot to try at the time you're putting this movie out.
Starting point is 01:22:44 Very curious to see how soon. It's tracking decent for an opening weekend, but it's got to sustain over the next couple of weekends afterwards. It doesn't seem like a big international type of movie to do well. No, this is American fan service. You know what I mean? But I think kind of needs some of that right now. So funny.
Starting point is 01:23:04 Luke said that Mike's Hill turn got him into the Shmodeau. It's so funny. It's funny because Luke helps me with the channel, the Shmodown Ball channel and like he certain times he'll do things like oh you certainly weren't watching in season one two and three were you like no I didn't find it until I don't think he found it until season four because that season four season five is when Mike started to make his run yeah so um yeah that's interesting okay let's see we didn't talk up we didn't talk about uh Cody Rhodes what happened what happened now Cody Rhodes yeah at at Marvel oh is what's what's he in
Starting point is 01:23:41 I mean, that's TBD, but like, look, I mean, he had, he had the, yeah. Oh, I didn't even know that. He announced it. He just posted a really cryptic picture. I just know, like, you and I have that wrestling crossover. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I see. Okay.
Starting point is 01:23:58 And so, like, he did have that stint on Arrow, you know, where he played, like, the drug dealers. So, like, I think he's always, I think he's always been wanting to step into these, you know. Oh, he loves the geek shit. He loves it. Yeah, yeah. He's a big Star Wars guy, too. So, oh, that's interesting. Huge.
Starting point is 01:24:14 Huge. Huge, huge Star Wars guy. See what he does in Street Fighter. I don't know what Street Fighter is going to be like. I like that trailer. I like that trailer. You did? Yeah, I did.
Starting point is 01:24:26 Because that trailer to me, I was expecting the shits. And I was like, oh, this movie knows exactly what it wants to be. Yeah. I liked the trailer. So I'm curious to see how they're going to do it. But yeah, I think the reason I brought up Cody is it's like he look he's a phenomenal storyteller with my time at AEW you know he was one of the few people that was actually telling longer form stories a lot of times it felt like I showed up to work and it
Starting point is 01:24:51 was just like who's fighting what why and Cody was more like methodical in terms of like how he would pitch stuff and how he would want things to play out and I think that's honestly one of the reasons why he went back to WWE yeah that and just being a part of a bigger production. you know what I mean um but his stories even when he was doing like the Ring of honor stuff like they always felt like they were driving somewhere with like nuance so like he's got the acting shops right um at least in the wrestling format like I'm not sure that it translates to like a lot of close-ups and anything other than oh I won or oh I lost or I'm fighting for my dad's legacy I don't know right you know we can transfer over to well
Starting point is 01:25:35 we'll say that's interesting we'll see I mean other other fighters and wrestlers have have tried. Seth Rollins made his shot and his whole park got cut out of the movie, so we'll see. People make plays for characters that feel unconventional. You know, like, that's how we got Deadpool with that short that Ryan Reynolds greeted. So it's like...
Starting point is 01:25:54 100%. Yeah, it's true. Who knows? Yep. Who knows indeed, Jen. And then we get Chris, I would love for Sandra Bullock and Canter Reeves to reunite for another film. Me, me too. Me too. I love those two together. Joey Pedrus.
Starting point is 01:26:10 Jen, would love to hear what your favorite David Lynch film is if you have one. God, give me a minute on that. Yeah, anything about that? So does, and our moda says, does Christian have a Snyder impression? Do you? I don't know if I have a Snyder impression. I mean, I could. I don't have a Snyder impression.
Starting point is 01:26:29 I have a Snyder story. Oh, I mean, who doesn't, right? But yes, we're a good one recently? No, I mean, my favorite, no, my favorite Snyder moment actually is in my reel that I send to people and it's when I was interviewing him and for whatever reason that day he'd shown up to Shmowdown wearing a trench coat um just like no explanation just like that's the look today and I was just like the only thing I always remember doing is he's let me tell you something Jen he's like because these people don't know that it's not about JT tell my favorite line though
Starting point is 01:27:04 ever was some there was it was during one of the free foralls and they were all together it was Tim Finstock and J.T. And J.T. made one of his monumental nonsense quotes. And he said something along, what did he say? He's like, I can't remember. Whatever it was, it made no sense. And Jeff goes, like he just knew immediately that whatever J.D. he was saying was nonsense.
Starting point is 01:27:28 And those, I don't know who your favorite team was of all time, but the Patriots were my favorite. Patriots were so fun. I mean, I hate to say this, but I think it's just because I'm a comedian. I loved team action and I love the wild berries. I loved the wildberries. Like I loved people that like, you know, corruption was fun. Chance had to like grow on me a little bit.
Starting point is 01:27:53 But once I like got him, I got him. You know what I mean? I think he really had to like, he had the trivia part down, but he needed to like learn how to operate in a WWE type setting. You know what I mean? He got it eventually. He got it eventually. but yeah but it took him uh it took him a little bit to figure it out but he was i always tell that story
Starting point is 01:28:15 at the spectacular where um where were you were you were you were you not there for that spectacular on spectacular spectacular spectacular four is when baitman won the title because i think like emma no i think i'm just there are you okay so i always remember for some reason like emma was on stage maybe was you um we split a lot of time yeah but but anyway so what had happened was it was right at when Smets demolished Mike for the title and Mike ran off the stage and he was supposed to sit there and say stuff and he didn't and he ran and I said Shannon where the hell is he he he's gone you're not going to find him he's not coming back well that's not helpful as I got and I had to leave the desk and I had to go there for that okay and so I had to go all the way downstairs and get him and I go
Starting point is 01:29:03 dude you what are you doing here he's like I just got embarrassed him and I'm like I'm like I'm like you got to worry about that later dude i'm like he's like i'm like you got to do this for me he's all right he came back up with me and chance was on and chance was on the stage and he granted chance was not good in the microphone and he grabbed the microphone and i saw the microphone in his hand and i'm like what is he doing with the microphone what is he doing and when he got off i just tore into the poor guy. And I go, don't take the microphone. You don't know what the hell you're saying? And I just, because I was all stressed out from Mike. And I just annihilated them. And the truth is, he wasn't that bad. When I watched it back, he was trying to save the moment because Mike wasn't there.
Starting point is 01:29:51 And he was trying to go over what he could do. Now, I don't know if you remember in Houston, for some odd reason, he rushed the ring and went into the ring and started to have the microphone and say, and I go, dude, get out of the ring. And we call. cut out his entire thing because it was an unplanned rush that I didn't tell him to do. Oh my God. I forgot about that. Yeah. It was hilarious.
Starting point is 01:30:14 Anyway, we had some fun. No, I was definitely at, uh, I was definitely at the spectacular four because that was what, 2019? That was 19.
Starting point is 01:30:24 Yeah, that was in, that was when we put all the titles and everything and we had like the, the fan signing and everything beforehand. We were at the theater. Yeah, we were at the theater downtown. No,
Starting point is 01:30:33 that was, I don't know. It's a blur. It all runs together. But no, I definitely was there because I had pictures of it from the dressing room. Okay. All right. So, go pal.
Starting point is 01:30:44 Nicole Kimman is in every show movie to me. You are 100% correct. I feel the same way about Ann Hathaway right now. She's in like five movies this year. But that's because I know she's had a kid. She was like, I know I got to get this. Did you see? I mean, you probably already talked about it.
Starting point is 01:31:01 You saw the Oak Street? I did. I liked it. did you hate it most i liked most of it um i don't like when movies break their own rules yeah um and then tell me if you got this feeling at the end and sorry spoilers you guys have had enough time to see this movie if i've seen it i might have made this point the other day what what let's see it let's see what you say so two things these are my two my two biggest gripes yeah it felt like at the end of the movie they were like this is like that scene when doc brown
Starting point is 01:31:35 like when you've got to go back and save the background and you're like are the dinosaurs terrorists right right you know what i mean yeah that was one thing that i had an issue with but the other was anne hathaway cannot run oh i didn't know i didn't i didn't notice and hathaway runs like roxy okay i have to find that that that's like the phoebe run yeah that i i've she ran and i was just like what is happening i have to watch that it's funny the other thing was And the ladies back me up here on this. I hated when they were like traipsing through the neighborhood. She's holding the shotgun and she's also got her purse on her.
Starting point is 01:32:15 And I was like, there is prehistoric stuff out there. Like at no point would I need my purse. I'm coming back to the house. I don't need a purse. Yeah, so funny. I wasn't even paying attention to all these details of this movie at that point. I think I just shut it. I should shut it down because I was like, I was just,
Starting point is 01:32:31 I have been so disappointed with all of the Jurassic Park movies. I was like, oh, a movie where they actually, there's actually some fun fear with some of this stuff. Yeah. Yeah. But what was your, what was your note on it? Again, it's a spoiler for people. Again, if you haven't seen the movie, it's going to be spoiled for you. So I'm giving the morning.
Starting point is 01:32:54 So at the very end of the movie, and now the answer is it could set it up for a sequel. So if that is the answer, then fine. My problem was that she goes with her kids and she makes the phone call. she saves Ewan McGregor, right? But it doesn't change the fact that she basically just sent herself and her kids back to the pre-storic tense without her husband. They're there now by themselves,
Starting point is 01:33:14 the other version of them. Yeah. She changed up all those events. So the second movie, if they made one, they won't because it didn't do it very well. But if they did. Time travel is so tricky to pull off. It is, but that is why,
Starting point is 01:33:28 say what you will about Avengers Endgame, it's the one movie, and most people say, Avengers End Game is great, and I like it. But what I like about the time travel aspect of it, it's the really, if you listen to quantum physics, people who study quantum physics and theories about actual time and how it works, and you believe in the multiverse side of things, which is a common theory, that it's not the
Starting point is 01:33:51 back to the future thing. If I went back and I went back in time and I decided to put you in the schmodeown and season one and said, I'm going to get Jen and putting in season one. It doesn't change everything that happened with our timeline here because it's a different timeline. It would just change the events and everything else in that timeline. I'm going to change everything else and other things and other relationships. It's it wouldn't be like, oh, well, then I wouldn't be here today.
Starting point is 01:34:20 It's, yeah, you would because it happened already. That's how time initially, it works. It's a time strain. Yeah. It's different times. So you, so you are on the board of back to the. future too where it's like don't run into your past out no no i'm i'm against that i think that that you're against that yeah i don't think that makes sense first of all i love back to the future i love it
Starting point is 01:34:40 it's one of my favorite movies of all time it is one of the worst time travel movies as far as how time travel actually works makes no sense whatsoever he goes like all the different events and all the different ways he wouldn't be back in that same position when he comes back to the end in the mall and he jumps back exactly the same way he did all those moments wouldn't have happened he wouldn't have been there because his parents were different, different decisions, different restaurants he went to leading to different conversations and different things. It would be different. Now, again, it would just be a different timeline. Like, if he went back to his timeline, his dad would still be a dork. His mom would still be, you know, an alcoholic, like all those different things. Just in that
Starting point is 01:35:16 timeline, it would be different. He would have to go to a different timeline. So that's, it's, that I get super, that's where I get my most geeky was when it comes to quantum physics can time and everything too, because like that to me, that's uh when i was so that's one of the things i loved about endgame when they had that conversation and he's like he told me back to the future was bullshit i was like yes when he listened to the way time actually works is it these time things yeah it's timelines um that's funny yeah anyway i didn't know this is where i'd get christian fired up where's like this is it does it drives me nuts it drives me crazy um okay all right let's see let's go to the next one and we have
Starting point is 01:35:58 I hope we get to oh yeah okay I'm Rhonda I hope we get Christian and Mike playing GTA 6 I could we could probably make that happen and Mike's probably definitely gonna get it's a gamer
Starting point is 01:36:09 Mike's a big gamer it's so funny because Shannon talks about like how they have opposite schedules and she's like I'll be trying to sleep and then I'll just hear him losing his mind on someone that tracks that tracks Ron H when I dance the city
Starting point is 01:36:23 the streets of cities I occasionally get to nod yep Ron H without pants dance of course he would get the nod let's f and go 100% obi won canoli i'm so excited for your show and if you can get it funded for the mts smasher it's a huge inspiration of my life and to see him live would be a dream come true well that's really cool i think you know one of the things that i'd probably have to do jenn if we do the 16 person tournament is i'd probably have to add a lot of inner geekdom people and slices in there to make it fair to people you know yeah um yeah yeah you're right
Starting point is 01:36:53 because like it wouldn't make sense to do like a side tournament for that you You know what I mean? No, the only way, the one thing I could potentially do. It's so funny because like inner geekdom and like horror felt like if those were your specialties, you really had a leg up if one of those slices ended up on the board. You know what I mean? 100%. Like, you know that.
Starting point is 01:37:15 And look, the thing is, this is what I told somebody to. It's like, if we get a full on 16 person tournament funded. Oh, that's fun. The finale itself could essentially be a live event. the main event would be the finals and then you could do the undercard which could be an intergeekdom match so anything's possible right now um okay let's keep going obi won canoli thank you so much obi won can only says p s jen you're beautiful there you go thank you i appreciate uh ron h coyote versus acme this week oh we got two dollars for that comment that's messed up well it's like six
Starting point is 01:37:54 if you can if you could you know you both of them thank you too it's like sick thank you there you go coyote versus hack me this weekend we are all wily shiz blow up in our faces but we dust ourselves off let's get up and let's get going let's fucking go thank you that's so true yeah
Starting point is 01:38:11 best teenage party movie 16 candles Superman can't hardly superman super bad no it's a Superman I know but I think he meant super bad yeah for sure yeah can't hardly wait American pie party. Seems like today's kids don't have a fun party movie. That's all true.
Starting point is 01:38:29 I'll tell you, I love, 16 candles I liked a lot. It's one of my wife's favorite movies. Super bad I dug a lot. Can't Harley Wade, I really enjoyed. And Harley Wade is kind of one of my movies. Yeah, that was, I used to get compared to her a lot. Oh, I see that. Which, which one? Lacey Chebert or, uh, or Jennifer
Starting point is 01:38:48 Lefewitt? I got both of them. I was going to say, I'm their GTA. I'm their GTA version. where it's like we don't we don't know which one we want so just put them both together because when i when i first met you well shoot you know what's so funny is that i don't i think we might have talked about this i work i'm sure i told you this once before but i worked for silver pictures back in like from like the end of 2004 until like beginning of 2008 like that was oh no no 2007 um well that's my hey day yes so when that was going on with
Starting point is 01:39:24 you, they were taking meetings with everybody that was like blowing up. Yeah, because it was like the beginning of the internet and like going viral. People don't realize, like I was one of the OGs of that. Me and the Star Wars kid, you know? Star Wars. You guys should have done a tour together. So I was, and my space was also the big thing back then. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:39:47 So I remember my bosses at the time came in and they go, hey, you went to Florida State. can you get in touch with this garage and she didn't know me from a hole in the long and i go i mean there's a lot of people who went to florida state and they said well reach out see if you're like okay and i sent you a message jenn i work for uh silver pictures blah blah never heard back which i don't blame you it's like because you're probably getting bombarded from everyone at that point but i was like that was my first ever interaction with you and then i guess it wasn't even interaction it was just me sending a message and then i guess randomly what five year three no 2007 shit It was probably like seven years later, seven, eight years later, we started working together. Yeah, we started working together, what, 2015? Yeah, I think it was between, no, no, no, no, no, it's probably later than that because you came in, because Emma started first. Emma was the behind the scene person. That was 2016. So you came in late 2016, early 2017.
Starting point is 01:40:43 Yeah. Yeah. I came in around Halloween, just because I remember I went straight from there to like going to Six Flags with, oddly enough, someone just mentioned her in the comments, C.J. Perry. we went to like a Halloween thing at Six Flags. And so it was like, it was a fun time. Like I had like a bunch of fun stuff going on, you know? Yeah, yeah. Hold on saying.
Starting point is 01:41:05 Josh, are you talking about 12 monkeys? What are you talking about? Let me know. Okay, let's see. I want to jump back into this. Getting some more questions here for Jen. I don't think people want you to leave. So where is it?
Starting point is 01:41:21 Oh, not this. I would say, so when did you see, so can't, you know, it's funny is that shows I saw Can't Hardly Wait actually when I was at Florida State. You lived Can't Hardly Wait. You know what's not in there is Van Wilder? Does that count as a house party movie? Yeah, 100%. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 01:41:40 The legend, the unofficial legend of Burt Kreischer. You know that I was, he still gives me credit for the, you know, for the advice that I gave him, the first time he ever did stand up, we did, I did the show with him. as a pop belly that makes so much sense that you guys would be friends just because like you're both really great storytellers yeah the pop bellies was when we first um yeah i i was already doing stand-up he had not done it before and i had been like i there was one time and i wasn't like drunk and fell off the stage but i was there was one point that i would they did the show and i i drank like two or three shots of yager and i was like i stepped back and there was a little bullshit stage at this
Starting point is 01:42:23 weathered place and I step back and I'm not drinking anymore. This is ridiculous the way that I'm handling myself. And I saw Bert when I was at this show and I go, look, he had a beer and I go, you don't want to rely on that. He's like, why? I go, because he's always going to rely on it. And this is me like in my early 20s or whatever. And he said that I was stuck with him.
Starting point is 01:42:42 And he tells that story. But anyway, so then Ron H. I am McLeaven, Super Bad Rocks. It does. It's pretty good. Atari fan for life. I came for Smet's games. Bummed.
Starting point is 01:42:52 He's not back yet. He's coming back next. week i promise but jen is awesome i will try and make the new york show when is kevin returning missed that dude he says he's back next week that's what he told me so we'll have to have jen back on when kevin's on also so she can play oh that'd be so fun he hit me up actually after the last time i was on with you and was like oh i'm pissed i wasn't there today you should definitely do that with him it's the doc jenn you're a legend yes she is i try i try nathan drake i think my monthly member super chat was missed oh where was you know what it is nathan it's like i can't i don't know if
Starting point is 01:43:23 it's if it's in here, the way this works. Question for you. What was your favorite house, like your favorite house party story or like your favorite party story out of Florida State? Can you tell it on the internet or no? Probably, probably not. Probably not. But I can tell you, I'll tell you before we go on stage on the eighth.
Starting point is 01:43:47 Oh, God. Yeah. Yeah. You know, Nathan, I don't. If you didn't go to Florida. say it if you don't have some of those no i definitely have those yeah for sure there were tons there were tons um let's see nathan i don't know you know what it is dude there's something going on with with the starred things i have to go back look i don't know if you're able to but if you can find it
Starting point is 01:44:08 in the chat this is why i need pld here today if you can find it and bring up nathan's member super chat because there's something i have to go through this one says Nathan was like too above it did you really send that chat on hot mic i don't know what that oh i know what that means it's the doc doc Christian, I still disagree. You're out of your mind if you think Smets could beat K.O. The guy is so wound up about Smash whenever he's mentioned. He falls behind early like he's, early. He's toast like spectacular four.
Starting point is 01:44:33 So it's the Doc Doc has been having this debate for us, Jen. If they played again now for the title, who would win? Now, remember, they're both rusty as shit. You think Smet's too? Yeah, I think. I think they're one and one against each other. It really has to do with the way they consume media when they're not on as competitors.
Starting point is 01:45:00 I think Mike would have to do a lot of cramming. But so with Smiths, Smets is rusty. There's a thing though. Smets is always doing editing. He's always got his hands on like screen and stuff like that. Reality TV. No, but like he's got the time to do that type stuff.
Starting point is 01:45:15 Mike is stuck on the back lot or he's doing stunts or he's up a Tyrannosaurus Rex's ass at Universal. I think people don't give Mike. You know that he does that, right? Yes. Yeah, yeah, Mike. I don't think Mike gives enough,
Starting point is 01:45:29 I don't think people give him Mike enough credit for what he accomplished for what he did. Like he, he, I agree. I agree entirely. He had some really big games and honest, but he's also a great performer too.
Starting point is 01:45:40 You know what I mean? Like he did, he embodied all of it in being a good champ. Well, so this is what I will tell people when you hear us talking about this and you've never watched this show down. I highly recognize. him and now subscribing to the vault channel because Mike has not, Mike or Kevin Smiths have not
Starting point is 01:45:56 debuted yet in on the ball. Right now we're just getting to, it's like the legends of the game are really starting to build up. Like Roka at this point in the league has just, he lost that match to Mance, but now he's on a tear and he's won three in a row and he's facing Riley today in a big match and the winner plays Ellis in the finals. And that was a historical run at the time for for like roca that's when roka was becoming the outlaw um and then you know dan was waiting in the wings to defend his title it's spectacular we had just created i remember when i said i want to do a russomania and i want to do like call it the spectacular and like you can't you can't do that i can't can't even tell you down how many people told me no one's going to watch there was somebody in production
Starting point is 01:46:36 who said to me no one's going to watch a five hour video with movie trivia no one's going to watch it and they said it's meant i said they will because they're already invested it's too long just don't do it and people going, it's campy. He was not campy. It was 100% not campy. There was, and we did it, and I think he did like 350,000 views, the first one. And then we broke him off in the super match. It was like a massive hit. Yeah, that's the thing is that it just created this whole community.
Starting point is 01:47:06 Like, it was so much more than just a show, you know, like the fans became part of it. And then we started having fans actually competing. And it really showed like how. Much movies bring us together. You know what I mean? True. So I think we made it, we made it pretty accessible for a long time. I think things got like kind of hard to follow if you were a new person when we got
Starting point is 01:47:30 into the last like season. Because at that point we're like digital, the digital thing, there was too many matches. It was fun. It was a match a day. So many matches. Like I was, I was always working. Yeah. Thank you, by the way.
Starting point is 01:47:42 Because you saved a lot of us during the pandemic. Yeah. There was a, there was literally a match. per day. It was too much. It was way too much. It was crazy. Yeah. You know. So yeah. It was like we were on this full on league and trying to get everything going and the digital matches were easy to produce. So yeah, it was just too much.
Starting point is 01:47:57 All right. Let's see. Next one. And this one is Nathan Drake. Did you really send that chat on? Yeah, I did. And I was going to send a follow up one, which because Roka was because I was, I was driving. I stopped the light and I sent a super chat. And I don't know. It's sent in like two bucks or whatever. And I just asked Snyder, would you compete in the tournament? And Roka goes, that's not really Christian. He goes, because he better be sending in more than two bucks. I'm like, you asshole.
Starting point is 01:48:20 I'm stopped at a red light. And so I was going to send in a 10 bucks and write something else. But then whatever I wrote, they wouldn't let me do it because I guess I told them the, you know. Oh, did you tell him to go exactly. Yeah, I tell him to suck my balls or something like that. It's the doc. You thought you were soliciting in a super chat. Right.
Starting point is 01:48:42 Right. Right. Wrong website. They said wrong website. is this Kalinowski? It's the doc. Last thing for Jen, one of my all-timers is your teary-eyed interview with Kevin after coming back from cancer and winning the title again. Jen, you handled that so well.
Starting point is 01:48:59 I can't wait until that's back on the vault. Yeah, that was a really special day. There were only a few people that could really make me cry. Merle did it a bunch of times. I have a soft spot in my heart for Merle, though. you know what I mean like and Merle just just had so much heart as a competitor and watching him
Starting point is 01:49:20 fight his way back out of that colossal meltdown with Guy was was epic you know what I mean because you saw how much it really it really meant to him the whole game itself and then but I I think Smet's coming back and winning
Starting point is 01:49:36 is probably one of my top three interviews that I did on the show where I was like was a good one yeah it was a good one yeah it was That was a good one. It was really good. It was. Tim Sim, my thoughts after seeing the GTA6 and deep, in-depth vid on Netflix as a gamer,
Starting point is 01:49:51 very impressive work that can rival Resident Evil record for the game of the year. Launch has to be perfect, but I still think it's too expensive and unhappy with being digital only. Well, the last part of it, I understand. And too expensive, I'm just, I know I understand it when you look at it and you say 100 bucks, but look at what you're getting. I'm going to push back on the too expensive for $100 for the amount, just what I saw alone and it looks the kind of detail you're going to get. That one, I understand.
Starting point is 01:50:21 I do. I really do. And I'm usually the one going, why does it cost that much? I understand. But as far as the rest of this stuff goes, I'm with you on the digital only thing. I can understand why that pisses people off for sure.
Starting point is 01:50:31 And the digital only thing is something that I run into, even as a creator, like with my sites that I do like all my cosplay and stuff on is I just change sites recently. Soft plug for that. Jensterger. com. Anyways, but I ran into that same thing when I was switching over because the model essentially just like rents people's stuff.
Starting point is 01:50:53 And I just really don't think it's fair. Like I come from the age of like when you buy something, you should own it. It should be yours. It shouldn't just be like a rental, you know? And then like because I change platforms, my followers shouldn't be punished because I'm moving to a platform that benefits me more as an artist. You know what I mean? So I'm looking for ways around that exact same thing. because I don't love this model because I think that they're just trying to like squeeze every penny
Starting point is 01:51:19 they can out of us and not promising us anything forever, you know, which is like we still all have like those of us that grew up in the 80s and 90s and, you know, early 2000s, we have hard, we have hard copies of stuff and like that's what I miss. Do we have the equipment to play them anymore? Absolutely not. But, you know, as you have all, as the potential, um, 16 person tournament is talked about more and more and more. It's funny. You'll remember this. You used to see this.
Starting point is 01:51:51 Here is it. Hold on. I just saw something that I had not seen in a very long time. Remember all these people that you just thought they would be able to, I could win. And it was like, and then we would bring in the fans and they just get murdered by the pros. Remember like that that used to. Oh, all the time.
Starting point is 01:52:07 It was very rare. It was very rare that a new fan would come in. and make a mark and the ones that did you know blew up they became stars in their own right and they did because they were playing in like fan tournaments and stuff and fan leagues too like all the ones all the if you look at the the people who came over from like the fan leagues or from being a fan into becoming either champions or stars whatever too paul yama was a champion in the fan league robert parker was a champion in the fan league um adam collins was a champion was like a big competitor in the fan leagues like the random people just kind of like oh i
Starting point is 01:52:43 I can do movie trivia and they go, oh my God, I couldn't. I consider myself a big movie fan. That said, there's zero percent chance I would ever want to compete. It's also because you also know the big game atmosphere that went into it also, when not only at the live event, when you're trying to answer a question in front of a thousand people and you have 15 seconds to answer the question, it's even in sometimes even more intimidating was inside of the studios when there's like 40 of your peers watching. you like this, waiting to see if you're going to do it and knowing if you have, again,
Starting point is 01:53:18 you ran out of all your repeats, you have 15 seconds to answer the question. I don't know what that is. When I start doing that again? Don't know either. And yeah, so it's, I saw Saul going, oh, one of you? I haven't seen one of you in a long time. There's there always those people who are like, I could beat Dan Merle. It's like, yeah, okay.
Starting point is 01:53:34 Correction, Christian. I forgot about Smets is two and one over Mike. He only lost from, don't tell Peter. Oh, that was a meltdown. They are two and one. You're right. You're right. It is two and one. I'm not taking away credit from Mikey two belts, but it's just the math of it. No, no, no, two and one. You're right. You're right. He beat him. The second match. I felt like the second match they play when he beat him for the title was way closer. I don't, I'm not as familiar with that. I don't remember that one. That was like towards the end of the season. Say series. Anyway, let's go back to something so. Let's get an update. Let's get an update on trending and see where we're at. Hold on. I'm going to check right now. Currently, guys, again,
Starting point is 01:54:13 We're trying to get to a thousand by the time we are done with this show here today. We have 975. Come on, 25 of you guys just need to hit the button. 25 of you. And then we hit a thousand. There's no monetary commitment just from clicking the button. It's just follow it. So that way you can show Kickstarter that it's trending. Yes.
Starting point is 01:54:36 And then if you want the tournament to come back, you donate on day one. I got to say this. Like, we don't exist unless. the people that support, like, please don't, if you support a creator, like, support them with your click. Support them with a share. Do you what I mean? Like, we grow because of you guys. My pod grows because I have amazing fans, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:55:02 Some of which, I mean, like, I've gotten to know as people, like very much like, I love that I have recurring characters, very much like how you do, where it's like, these are my actual people, you know? Yeah. So the number one way people can support, and it's absolutely free is just click the follow button. That's it. That's it. Do that please and thank you. And then go and buy tickets to Long Island. So yes, and let's bring that. A little more expensive, but I am telling you, we put on a great show. It's so much fun doing stand up together. I'm sure we'll whip out some surprises for it too. So we'll see. That's going to be a lot of fun between the, where are we to? Is it a picture? No, there it is.
Starting point is 01:55:39 If you want a glimpse into what the Schmodown reunion was, feel like. I think this is a great place to start. A good start, especially, you know what's funny, Jen? This is true. Even though the campaign will still be going on at that time, we will know by October 8th if we're doing a tournament or not. You know what's so crazy, Christian is like, I just, I just think about like everything that the Shmowdown is like, like, I don't know how someone could watch your show and not know about the Shmowdown. Like, it's just so.
Starting point is 01:56:12 interesting to me, like how you miss like that period. That's like not, that's like not knowing that the, that Dwayne the Rock Johnson was the rock. You know what's funny about that is I guess, I guess there's two things about there, right, which is, I guess a positive thing on my side is that I built out a separate brand where I didn't rely on the schmodeown or my nostalgia. I don't, honestly, the last three days is the most I've talked about the Schmodeon in probably two years, right? I know. You know, we talked about it when the vault was coming out and other things too. But there's a lot of people I see in the comments really what the hell is there's some people who are just finding the shmow down through the vault channel when I started promoting it So you know, maybe this is something if they go to the vault channel and they start to understand what we're talking about they're like oh shit I want to see this coming back for a 16 person turn
Starting point is 01:56:57 That's like people who think Jesse Ventura is just a politician. Oh, so good down in the down in the Baja So good. Okay, let's see next one and we get to oh Armada. Has Jen seen the Lucha Arroca commercial? No, but I've got a lot of homework after this. Now, my question is, did I do that today? I might have. Oh, no, I... What?
Starting point is 01:57:27 This is delicious. Really? You made this? What's that supposed to mean? Now you went to hit me, too? He was just judging me. You're a massed salesman. And you're a escape. boarding mariachi I'm just saying you did all this without hands it's del real
Starting point is 01:57:50 who needs hands del reall food ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha yes look at your face I'm telling you guys yeah I love that
Starting point is 01:58:12 I love that that just made you go into like a total game and talk I've got a non-deme verbal. Amazing. It's when you know you've got me where I'm just like, what did I just?
Starting point is 01:58:25 What did I say? That was Roca? Yeah. I mean, come on. You couldn't tell? No. Honestly, if I would. If John had a cowboy hat on, I'd be like, who's that?
Starting point is 01:58:36 I'm joking. I don't know. That's hilarious. If I would have discovered. Yeah. If I would have discovered that 10 years ago, I would have begged him to wear that on a promo. What if he wore that with the head?
Starting point is 01:58:50 hat. Oh, hilarious. So let's see. That's so much better than the V for Vendetta mask, if he made him be the lutea mask and the cowboy hat. Oh, my God. Larry Corwitz, the only way time travel works in a single timeline is with a closed casual loop.
Starting point is 01:59:08 Speaking of which, did you hear Richard Kelly as a Donnie Darko sequel double? I actually have heard this coming out with three films planned. I hear James Cameron encourage him. You know, I need to go back and rewatch Donnie Darko. I saw it a very long time ago and I remember going I don't know if I like this but I have not watched it in a long time
Starting point is 01:59:27 people love it so have you have you seen Duny Darko? Not in a really long time I watched it to help a client of mine who did like a roast about it where she played the bunny so like that's I wasn't watching movies for anything other than like
Starting point is 01:59:45 how do I make fun of this? Yeah, I'm fair. Ron 8th Fook this. I consume a lot of media. Watch Hollyweed. This guy's been trying to get us to watch Hollywood so much that they made a meme out of, what's Hollywood? It's a Kevin Smith-on-eared pilot that he made, and this guy loves it.
Starting point is 02:00:02 And so they even made, so much so that they, look at that. They made this out of the photo shoot that we did. Oh, my God, that's so funny. Yeah. And this is, by the way. That's like me running, that's like me running into the chat to always be like, have you seen Velasa pastor? Right.
Starting point is 02:00:16 right that's more or less that's exactly what it is uh lincoln west why not do teams tourney so we can see more people oh man well there's a lot of answers or why we wouldn't be able to do that the first is you think 16 16 people alone is hard enough to maintain 32 it is it's a lot i mean 32 people is too much plus the fact these teams have not played together in a bit um the teams were put together strategically and other things or two. You could put teams together and do things too, but it's not it's not the same.
Starting point is 02:00:55 And it'd be easier to, like, not everyone's going to come back and play in the tournament, by the way. There's going to be, I guarantee, there's going to be people who say, thank you, but no thank you, right? Like, I feel like this is like in D2 when they're trying to convince the kids to come play in. Like, it was a G2 or D3 when they try to get them to go play in the Olympics? This is why I can't compete.
Starting point is 02:01:13 This is like trying to get the expendables to come back, though. at this point. I'm Megan Fox, right? I'm just checking. I don't really think anybody else. Well, but think about who do you think, you know who everybody's going to want to come back, but not all of them are going to come back, right? Like, I can't guarantee Merle will come back.
Starting point is 02:01:33 I'll offer it to him, but I can't guarantee it. He, he, you got to, Earl will come back. You've got, if you give him enough time, he'll consider it. It's not like we have to fucking go and find him in the cabin in the woods. No, I know. To come out of retirement. No, but you know who wouldn't come back,
Starting point is 02:01:51 and I'd love to have both of them, is Rachel and Clark. They won't come back. I think Rachel might. You think so? I bet she can. I could make that happen. I could make that happen. That would be amazing.
Starting point is 02:02:07 That would be amazing if she can. And I think Marisol will come back. Marisol would come back for sure. Oh, Marisol. I'll totally come back. 100%. All right, let's see. Going back into, we have a couple more left.
Starting point is 02:02:20 All right. So Larry Corwitz. Also, the 12 Monkeys TV series had great time travel logic. It did. It's one of the reasons I liked it a lot and was really good in general. I highly recommend it. So I don't know if you've been listening to me, Larry, but I've been loving that show. And I watched the whole series of the course of like two or three months.
Starting point is 02:02:35 It was great. Loved it. Ron H. Seeing some light at the end of a tunnel. Thanks for following me on my honesty now. Get H.I. and watch Hollywood. Ha ha ha. Just join it. Netflix also fun. Thank you. And Larry, I also agree about allergy feeling maybe too late,
Starting point is 02:02:49 but it makes sense because he didn't want to do dangerous stuff anymore. And this is a safer middle ground. I look, if it's funny, it's funny. I just hope it's funny. Vince just puts in 10 bucks. Thank you, Vince. I think we missed a couple of member chats. I know, but that's what I'm saying is that I can't, the member chats, they don't, because of whatever's happening today with the, with the starring of the super chats, I can't find, I don't know where to find the member chats. I don't know where to find them. It's so weird. I'm sorry. I'll see if I can find them again. I'll look. Dancing Dog 60, how did Howie Long Tank as an action hero? I mean, he can't act. I know that you have you seen. Yeah, you need to be able to still act. Yeah. It's the doc. Correction for Christian
Starting point is 02:03:29 Smets is two and one over Mike. Yeah, this is what Jim was saying. He only lost from Don't Tell Peter and I'm not taking credit away from Mikey too. Well, I'm not going to give you that he only lost from don't tell Peter. And it's like he, yeah, he lost because he messed up. And there's other questions that, you know, he messed up. And, by the way, yeah, he messed up that question. So, and I'm not taking credit away from Mikey two belts, but it's just the math of it. I love both, by the way. I get it.
Starting point is 02:03:52 Again, both worked hard. Mark was, Mike was multi-leagues, but Kevin came back for cancer. Both literally taller at one, I think, better than the other. I mean, listen, they both had huge runs, and it would be, it would be very interesting to set up that fourth match. I feel like you should put them when you're making the, brackets, like on a collision course for each other. I know what you mean?
Starting point is 02:04:16 Where it's like they still got to make it to a certain level before they run into each other. But like, that's what we're all rooting for. But the problem is anytime you did that, it never worked out. Never. There was always some kind of upset. Yeah. And we were just like, didn't see that coming.
Starting point is 02:04:35 Ronnie, Christian, you have to start paying Rogador. I know. It's the doc. Okay, leaving us the Odyssey, finally. enjoy it enjoy it and griffin you missed my supert chats i'll reiterate i need smet's versus koh my veins now team smash jenn love seeing you have a great weekend thank you griff great seeing you too yeah you know what i'll try to do is let me look real quick and i'll see if i can find in these member chats i'll go all the way up being the odyssey now man i still haven't
Starting point is 02:05:00 seen it oh wow i look i know the story no no no that's not you can't go into that mentality no way it's not the story it's the filmmaking of Nolan that you got to go into the scene it's not the story it's the story the only thing I'm interested in seeing in that movie is the practical effects they did where they have like the guys like they made little edible guys that they could rip the heads off of them and stuff like that's
Starting point is 02:05:24 I'm a nerd that's what I'm interested in seeing is how good the practical effects look um by the way look at that look at that picture that this guy put as his thing that's Mr. Cook so good um Does Shannon know this exists? I don't know. Who knows? You probably hit it.
Starting point is 02:05:42 Thinking about Ridley Scott. She will now. Someone dropped me the link in my DMs on Instagram. Please. Thinking about Ridley Scott, do you think that Roder deserves Best Director for Traffic over Ridley for Gladiator? No, traffic's awesome. But no, I think Ridley Scott should have won for Gladiator. Who remembers traffic now? I agree. I think that if you went back to it. Traffic's really good,
Starting point is 02:06:03 but it's not as it's memorable. and that's a classic gladiator let me see how many i'm going through the comments now to see how many of these um member chas it's so funny so people are selling it's not this it's not the same i need to go see it here's the thing what i said no like talking about the odyssey yes i said one of the reasons why i haven't seen it is because i saw a video of i've heard people getting sick just seeing it in imax like in from in terms of like the visuals of it, especially like the boat stuff. Have you seen the clips of people going and seeing this in 4DX? No, you're getting sick?
Starting point is 02:06:46 Really? They're roping off the aisles. They're spraying people in the face. The seats are like this. I'm like, I would vomit. Like you'd have to call in the next day and be like, I can't come in. I got, I threw my back out on a voyage last night. Right. Yeah, no. Oh, it's going to...
Starting point is 02:07:05 All for this shit. 100%. Rocked movies with Tyler. So glad to see you. Again, Jessica, I mean, Jennifer. Have you met Mr. Cook yet? She did. Also, when will the internet be ready for Penny Barber and Jen Sturger hosted episode if it can handle the power?
Starting point is 02:07:19 My goodness. You know what? She was really cool. I'd do it. Yeah, she was really cool. We're still talking about movie trivia, right? Oh, Penny Barber. You know, if she, I don't know about, she could do a podcast with us.
Starting point is 02:07:33 She's really good. She knows a lot about movies. Yeah. But, you know, and I still always say we were, you, me, you and Brett had such a great angle for you to really get involved in the storyline. That's one of the- I just thought about that. I know. I was so bummed because we had, we had the whole thing that's out now.
Starting point is 02:07:49 You guys were going to get the first Schmodeown wedding. Yes. Yeah. We were going to have our first wrestling Schmodown wedding. We were. And I was like, there was going to be a cake. Christian was going to get a cake. probably going to stack like six cakes from pavilions on top of each other.
Starting point is 02:08:07 Right. But still. Yep. He's like, we don't have a budget for a real cake, Jen. No. But yeah, I was really bummed that we caught that short. And I always had such fun with Brett. And we had recorded so much footage of you as Jessica as the heel in the interviews that
Starting point is 02:08:24 we didn't really get to use because we never got to do the turn all the way. I think you guys used some of them. And people were like, why is Chen being a bitch? Yeah, I don't think they really got it. And then there was like and the whole thing was supposed to be that they got married. She kind of took over the faction. Together she was with him while he was taking on the faction. At the end, the last shot of the spectacular at the end of the year was supposed to be
Starting point is 02:08:46 the flut and flouse has no more money. She took all of it and left them on the street. It was going to be great. Divorce is hard, man. I know. Divorce is hard. Yeah. Connor Mullis,
Starting point is 02:08:58 if you had 19 lint rollers, how many twitters could you fit into your pockets? I could probably do 15, but only 12. of this one day. Luckily it's not. It depends on what movie I'm going to see, I think. I think when it came down to it, Connor. Let's see how many more member ones that I have here. I want to double check and make sure I was able to kind of scroll through the thing. I got everybody's. Did I get everybody's? I feel like I did. Okay, because now, okay, good, I have it. All right, here's what I'm going to do. Now, Jen, you can feel free because you've been here for two hours. I'm going to just open it up to the chat. If they want to ask anything else about
Starting point is 02:09:33 the show itself and things of that nature. You can hang out for, I'm going to go through this and just see. But let's do one more plug here for our show, which is going to be on, again, October 8th. The tickets are in the description. Make sure you get them. They're ready packing up. So don't miss out, especially if we can get out here.
Starting point is 02:09:53 You can see the three of us together again. Yeah, no, I don't mind hanging out, Christian. If people have a question. You know what's also going to be crazy about that week? What's that? The date on that. October 8th is very important date for me. October 8th?
Starting point is 02:10:09 Yeah. Is that what is that the? That's my anniversary of when the media found out. Oh, wow. Is it real? Oh, wow. So it's a little bit of PTSD going back to New York.
Starting point is 02:10:25 You're going to have to bring that up on stage, right? That's what I'm finishing right now is I'm finishing working on that part of my hour where I'm like I need to talk about it but in a way that like that's not the main character of course of course that makes sense okay well good I mean I think horror fans will will very much enjoy how I'm handling that part of my life because it's if you're a fan of the horror genre like that's why I've been doing such a deep dive also because I'm working on a feature right now um but yeah so that's that's kind of where found out what uh I was involved in a little incident there's a documentary about it on Netflix. We don't need to go into it. But if you want to watch it and give it a
Starting point is 02:11:07 thumbs up, that'd be awesome. Yeah. All right, let's go through this. Basically, what I do now is after we've gone through all the super chats, if anybody has any questions about the pilot or the Kickstarter or anything in general, I just highlighted. And I let people know, we are only right now about 18 away from hitting 1,000. Eighteen away. So when we started the show, we were at 883, and now I believe we're at like 9.83, something along those lines. So we, we, we, we, we, We did almost 100 since the show started. So that's great. Keep on adding up.
Starting point is 02:11:37 Let's get, let's get there. I'm going through the beginning of the show. So it's going to take a second. So sly, age, 27, during the launch day for the Kickstarter, if you do an all-day stream, maybe a digital showdown can happen, a smaller match or something. You don't want to like burn your.
Starting point is 02:11:54 That's two parts of it. Part one is I don't want to take away the anticipation of the fact that we're doing it. And then it's also organized, organizing that during the time I'm doing this, that is going to be tough. But like I said, calling people on the air and getting commitments from people to be in the tournament on the stream. Smote out telephone, that could be hilarious. You know, like me, like, what if, like, you came on during that live stream that day and, like, we did, like, we announced somebody. Let's say we announced, well, for example, I asked, so we always need, like, you always need a rookie.
Starting point is 02:12:28 We always need somebody who could be the Cinderella story, right? So Chris Carr is on our show, and she's on Thursdays. And she is, we always talk about how she would have been perfect for this mode out and it's hey day, like perfect for it. Right. And I asked, she's the first person I actually asked to be in the 16 person tournament should we do it. So like what I love to do is the first interview ever between Jen Surger and Chris Carr
Starting point is 02:12:55 during that stream of how are you feeling if we potentially get this tournament going, you know, asking those questions of how you used to do it. And then we'll do a big reveal. If so-and-so has committed to the tournament, should we get this thing? And then you come in and you go, all right, so you know, you haven't competed in this long. How would you feel if we actually got this thing? And you do interviews throughout the live stream. That could be a lot of fun.
Starting point is 02:13:14 That could be fun. Man, it does, it is giving expendables. Right? It's 100%. It's like, either that or one of the many facets, like one last ride. You know what I mean? That's what it is. That's, and it's, and it could be like one.
Starting point is 02:13:29 And just to see how it. how it all plays out. I think it could be a lot of fun. I'm going through all the, this is with this one I didn't see before. So thank you, Blank, for the 1,000 Jules loot box. I appreciate that. I have to go through the entire chat now from the beginning because of the way this thing worked out. But, okay, and then this is Sam basically telling people, this campaign running about TV for a TV pilot, a show that can potentially run multiple seasons. So hopefully once the pilot is on someone like Apple TV picks it up. Look, the goal is, again, we have Emmy Awards. winning producer Andrew Fried on board to direct this. We are going to be shooting this. It is a 30-minute
Starting point is 02:14:06 pilot in the vein of hacks meets the bear with a sprinkle of Californication, as I've been saying. And we really just want to go past the gatekeepers and just make the show and do it in the way that people have been making shows now. It's different, you know? And so we're hoping that you guys will, you know, we'll come aboard and check it out. Okay. So I'm still looking. Look at that. So Mr. Soul Stylist, thank you. I just created an account now following the Kickstarter. This is all I need for you guys. I'm telling you, we can just get to 5,000 before we launch. It's going to be huge. It's going to be huge because we're just, you guys, it's, it's us. Look, there will be people who find this campaign in this show because of you guys on the Kickstarter when we get to that place.
Starting point is 02:14:51 But it's all of us carrying this thing together like this. It's all of us right now. So let's keep doing it. This is my favorite. I do this is like you were saying. with the Shmone. Go and check out the Shmownown Ball, Jayden. That's so crazy. I know. Go and check out.
Starting point is 02:15:08 Go and check out the... That's how I feel when I post, like I got asked to do a video for Barstool for Floresstay. And that's how I feel when they asked me to do one of those because I'm just like, you know how many people are going to go,
Starting point is 02:15:21 who's this old broad? Not an old broad. There's a lot of people like, who, you know, people did say like, who's, who's Jan, who's Jan?
Starting point is 02:15:27 And the Shmodeown faithful are like, you kidding? That you're Jenster? So I'm saying go to for anyone. I always just say ask your dad. Go and check. Go and check out though. Ask your dad
Starting point is 02:15:40 or your creepy uncle who I am. They know. Go to Shmodeown, go to Shmowdown Vault though and check out. And Jen hasn't made her debut on Shmodown Vault yet. So you'll catch her debut. I'm still looking through. Hold on. I've got to go through all this stuff. And I'll get there.
Starting point is 02:15:57 Hold on. So again, make sure that you guys are checking out the and and if there are any questions as I'm going through the chat right now I'm highlighting everything that I see and especially if there's more super chats that came in I'll be checking that as well. Do you you have right now you've got dogs as well
Starting point is 02:16:12 or are you just having to have a dog? You do. Hang on. He just hasn't shit on the floor so there's no reason to yell at him. Not yet anyway. Here you go. Yep. He's like, why don't you wake me up? Oh, there he is, Kevin. This is Kevin.
Starting point is 02:16:31 Oh, he's the best. He was great. Kevin, don't docks me. He's a great. He's like, I have my phone number. Yeah, that's great. Donald, Conley. Greg Alba just tweeted.
Starting point is 02:16:43 Yes, he is. He's producing on the show. He's going to be helping out tremendously. I was going back and forth with him today. Yeah. So he is going to be, he's going to be promoting it a lot. So. Okay, cool.
Starting point is 02:16:56 See, Greg. Yep, he is. And I have to do some tweets. and other stuff. I'm excited for him to be involved in it. And I'm sorry, I'm just keeping going down. I'm waiting for more questions and stuff that's coming out about the show. Anything else? Super chats. I'm bringing them up. Excuse me. Okay, let's say. Reaction videos and the casual. I don't know what that means. Oh, he means for the game. I know. It might have been, but I'm telling yesterday it was just, it was, it was also too, too crazy yesterday. I was like, I don't know what the hell I'm doing with this game.
Starting point is 02:17:28 I wasn't sure I was going to come off like, I didn't know what the hell I was talking about. So I just left go on. Because Luke was like, you know, it's out there now if you want to react to it. I almost did, but then I didn't. Okay. Let's see. There's a lot. There's a lot of, I mean, people are definitely excited about this.
Starting point is 02:17:45 And even, yeah, of course she does. She knows what she's talking about. Okay. Yeah, anything else that people are wanting to know about with the show or the Schmodeon or anything. What's the September 22nd thing? What's that's that's when it launched that's what that's when the Kickstarter actually launches Gotcha okay good so we have about we have under a month basically To get to 5,000 people following it before
Starting point is 02:18:13 It launches and then the one just asked if I'd be paired with Shannon So that's why I didn't understand what that meant I don't know what that means as but will she mean like will you an interview or something I don't know what that means I mean I mean I mean, Shannon would, if Mike comes back, Shannon would have to come back for, you know, to manage him, of course. Let's see. I'm going through. I mean, I just realized that I could have done this to the beginning of the show.
Starting point is 02:18:40 It's because usually what happens, Jen is like there's a, there's like a tab that says like start and all this superchats usually start. But for some reason today, it didn't do that. Yeah, they didn't show up like that. No, it didn't show up like this. So I had to go through and I'm going through the entire chat right now. So let's see. I'm going to check a trending page right. now and I'm going to hope that we're at 985.
Starting point is 02:19:00 95 is what I'm hoping for, and which is accurate, we're at 985. Nice. So we got 15, 15 away from doing 1,000 guys, in the course of three days. That's pretty damn good. So that means if three days, you know, if we can then get another 4,000.
Starting point is 02:19:18 4,000. Another 4,000 in less than a month. I think you can do that. So the guild had, the guild got 10,000. And they, so do you, I don't know if you know the story with them, but I've been talking about. You've gotten more interest than Clayface. Oh, man. But the guild, the guild was looking to raise 1.5 and they raised almost 7 million. And they, and they, and they had 10,000 people before the thing started. So hopefully we can get the 5,000. That's, that's kind of overall goal. And I told people, though, once this thing started, this is all I was going to be talking about. So it's not like it's new to them.
Starting point is 02:19:55 I forget, can you eat pizza? Somebody can't eat you. It's me. Good memory. Yeah. Yeah, I'm allergic to tomatoes. I actually remember one day I tried to eat pizza. That was the last time I've had a pizza was when I tried to eat it on set and I basically had like a stroke in the middle of an interview.
Starting point is 02:20:17 Okay. With team action. They were like, yo, are you good? I think we were at, the reason I know that. that we were out. It was one, it was one of the live events because you and I would always kind of get it. Me, you and Ellis, and two other people would always get away from the craziness after the live events would go eat somewhere or whatever. And I remember, I can't remember where it was. And I, who knows, he'll blend together. But we were somewhere and I'm like, oh, it's good pizza.
Starting point is 02:20:42 And you know, I can't eat pizza. And then I was like, oh, yeah, that sucks. I know. I know, because that's like your thing. You're like, got this price fuck. That's what I was saying. You're always pushing your pizza on people, dude. But I haven't been eating it as much as I'm trying to get. in shape for this freaking show that I'm doing. And I just once, once a week, once a week. And I haven't actually had pizza in, in three weeks. You need pizza once a week? That's crazy. Are you kidding me? This is one of the best pizza places I've ever, I've ever had. Oh, right, right over here. But once a week, pizza's a treat, dude. I don't know if I could do. I mean, I just saw the comment, eating is cheating.
Starting point is 02:21:23 Oh, did you know where that comes from? Yes. No, no, no. It's the Arnold, the Arnold story. Do you know that? Well, wait. I love that you think I'm not in the know about pop culture or stuff like that. That is something that not everyone always knew about because it was an entertainment weekly article that came out when all that shit was going down.
Starting point is 02:21:42 And he was going down on some woman in the freaking trailer and they walked in these, come on, eating is not cheating. I'm sure you have some gift of Mike being like, yum, num, num, num, num, nom, nom, nom, nom, no. There was something like that. You're like, no, no, no, no, but then do it again, because that's going to be. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. That, if, see, Pia, Luke, you know what to do. He's working on it right now. Let's see.
Starting point is 02:22:09 I'm still going through this. There's a lot of comments. Okay, same thing. Again, 15 more people. I'm going to put the link in here right now. If you're just joining us, now we need 15 people to support us on this, on this Kickstarter. And we are going to get to a thousand. We're going to get to a thousand, guys.
Starting point is 02:22:27 If you guys hit it and we're ready, I can go and I can tell Andrew, I can tell Craig, I say we did it. We did it. So here we go. You're going to get there before the end of the show. Oh, so this is what you said. Okay, so the pilot question, if Jen is busy on September 22nd, no worries. If possible, though, would she be paired with Shannon or someone else?
Starting point is 02:22:48 I guess I don't know what, I still don't know what I mean. I'm talking about us competing. That is, no offense. Cannon is the last person I would want to do trivia. You mean as a team? Yes. Oh, yeah, yeah. The two of us would be like hot chick wild berries.
Starting point is 02:23:04 Yeah, no, no, that wouldn't happen. It'd be all rins. Yeah. No answers. Yeah, oh, wow, this is, we're so far away from the, we're catching up. I'm at 112. 960, this is when we had 962. So this is, this is good that you guys have been really supporting throughout this
Starting point is 02:23:23 entire stream. Thank you so much. Let's say hi, salute to Jen in the house. Come on, people share the Kickstarter and get love to her. Yes, we want to, we absolutely want to. So already what you know about this tournament, you know that Jen Sturger is back. That should be a big incentive to get this thing going. And you know that Chris Carr is the 16 seed in the tournament already. So, and you know that Roka will do it. That's, that's already a done deal. but I just haven't that's not confirmed but you know he'll do it and then when I told Mike that we were concerned you should have seen the dilemma in his face Jen when I told him he was coming back because you know he wouldn't you know he wouldn't be able to say no no no he won't he will not say no no
Starting point is 02:24:07 there's no he knows it because he knows that if everyone else is back and people are coming back he is um yeah I don't know so I have a I have a I have a funny Mike Kalinowski story for you while we're waiting for people to go over and click the Kickstarter. Because that's what needs to happen. I'm not leaving until he gets to a thousand. We can be here all day. What? What?
Starting point is 02:24:29 I'm not having this show if you're not paying attention to. Huh? It's all I've been doing. The whole show is paying to it. Quiet. Yeah. What are you mean? We can't watch the whole thing.
Starting point is 02:24:38 Oh, I think I know. I think I know what he means. He's talking about when I'm talking about the, like changing it over to where the hosts can't, because I didn't say I wasn't going to pay attention to the chat. I said I don't want the host paying attention to the chat because if they do when roxy when when i have roxy on the show and i'll be in the middle of a
Starting point is 02:24:55 point and she's listening to you guys and arguing with you guys in the chat i don't want that now i'm not telling you not paying attention for what you guys are saying in here is i don't know what the hell you were talking about like can you can you can you reiterate what you meant because i don't understand um so funny i don't really understand what you meant maybe maybe i understood just a funny a funny story um you know obviously mike works at universal um and i have a a a friend of mine, one of my students, she also works at Universal. She's a tour guide. So she runs the tram tour on the back lot. And Mike sometimes, he like, he alternates between a lot of different gigs. Right now, he's like going between, um, the purge, like, Watershow. And, uh, he does a lot,
Starting point is 02:25:38 all the characters of Jurassic world, meet and grease. So sometimes he's in a raptor. Sometimes he's in the butt of a triceratops. I just like to imagine him clocking out like Ace Ventura, where he climbed out the butthole. Um, numb, numb, no, no,
Starting point is 02:25:51 no. It's good. Colin Prime, I'm going to give you one more. And then I'm going to say, then you might want to find another show and I get your member, but that's,
Starting point is 02:26:02 stop being a fucking ass. It's like, it's like the fact that there are, there's constant chat happening. There's constant chat happening in this. If I paid attention, a pretty good shot. 100%.
Starting point is 02:26:13 If I paid attention to every single chat that was happening, at the time it was happening, this would be a seven-hour show. so please please don't be unless you're fucking around please don't be an asshole i can't i can't deal with it today please please unless you're just fucking around then i did that today i posted a short about somebody sticks who's like a huge fan um and we did this whole thing where he said l-l and i and i hate l-l-l-l-l and i thought he was being a duch and he wasn't and then at the end of it oh i guess he was being nice i mean i'm sorry um yeah you miss a lot of subtext and text it might he might be fucking around and maybe i'm wrong but i just
Starting point is 02:26:46 But don't please, if you're not, just cut it out. Stop this and learn how YouTube works. Funny story with the, so Mike will work Norman. He'll be Norman on the back lot. And so I happened to ask, like, I just figured Universal's not that big of a place to work. Maybe they know each other. And I was like, hey, do you know my friend, Mike Allenowski? She goes, let me see a picture of him.
Starting point is 02:27:08 And I showed her a picture of Mike. And she goes, that effing guy. And I was like, what? What about it? She goes, he's such a method actor when it comes to be Norman. So fine. It's like he's got to like give the tram the whole backstory. And it's like, just run the tram with a knife.
Starting point is 02:27:30 It's so good. She'll be like, he goes. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. That's my. Samson Snyder is the Dennis Robin of Schmone. One billion percent.
Starting point is 02:27:40 That is absolutely very, very accurate. My favorite, my favorite Jeff Snyder clip that I have is when he, Like I said, when he came dressed in a trench coat and I told him he was the mascot for the Me Too movement. That's right. We had such fun together. So you know what you don't understand is, let's say, the trial of JT was my favorite quote ever. Oh, yeah. So what does he say?
Starting point is 02:28:01 This whole thing is trial and error. And my client being on trial, it's an error. It's an error. You loved interviewing Finstock. Finstock was great, you know. there's a there's a guy that sleeps on the bus stop outside my gym that looks a lot like him and so i just double check everyone so absolutely would not be surprised at all if that was the case um okay you know i'm gonna go to the bottom here and let's see you're gonna go all the way to the bottom and then i will go back up and see if there's any more that you guys have oh yeah yeah actually today sticks uh you know it was smet's had made one out of it a while ago and it's just it's been in my folder and I finally posted it today. It's on this channel. I just posted it today and I think I said sticks is a good guy at the very end of it. Okay. I'm going I'm going to go up now. Let's see anybody else who has any other questions or anything else. Let me know about it. I'm going to double check and let's see. Let's see if we're at 990. Let's do it. Jen. 990. 911. You got 9. I know we can do this. We got to hit a thousand by the time. Jen. But before Jen signs off, come on, that would be great.
Starting point is 02:29:19 That would be great to hit a thousand. Okay. I think he means if you do a long live stream pairing Jen and Shannon up to co-host. Oh, I mean, that would be cool to see if Shannon was available and you want to come in and do that. That would be cool. Like if she came in and was able to kind of pair up, that'd be cool. Mike Joyce, you can't have pizza. I'm so sorry, pizza is life.
Starting point is 02:29:39 It really is. What's crazy is like, by the way, somebody accused me of having like an LA allergy. I'm like, no, no, this is a real allergy. The problem is, is it happened when I was 28 years old. So I still know what all this stuff tastes like. Yeah. And I miss it. So every once in a while, I'll be like, the allergies to tomatoes.
Starting point is 02:29:58 So every once in a while, I'll look at something with tomatoes in it and be like, hmm, maybe that thing that's tried to kill me a bunch of times won't try to kill me. And I'll just be sitting there with an epipin in my other hand. You don't hear you know. True. Lord Mung, I appreciate what you wrote, but I'm just not going to showcase it. Let's see. Rone, have a great weekend. all dancing the Saturday
Starting point is 02:30:17 Sun let's F and go. What is the picture on Jen's Caps, Soul Style says. Oh, it's a black sheep. I already held it up for the camera, but I just think it's very appropriate for, you know, my life story. That's cool.
Starting point is 02:30:33 Okay, so, Ed, I see that GoPal, Christian Arnold, Goopal notice on the Christian the Kickstarter page. You should be noted who Freed is either under the pick or I know, let's see. You know what it was. It was, but don't, but don't worry.
Starting point is 02:30:48 I mean, guys, both you guys, and this is what I live about Ed. Ed will give you a thousand notes on everything going on social media and he's been super helpful. But like, it's, it's being updated as it's going on now. But I'm just going to make sure that I send that over to, where the hell was it? I just screenshot. I'm going to send this to 993. Let's go, guys. I did it.
Starting point is 02:31:12 Everybody needs to. That's right. You just did it? Yeah. Thank you. all right let's see I'm gonna keep going oh yeah that's right Chris Van Bleet was on
Starting point is 02:31:22 Stephanie McMan's today yeah oh really yeah I saw that CV and I uh I actually I actually did CVV's show yeah I know like a year and a half two years ago and it was so funny because we just talked about like yeah and I honestly think I got to know him better I think so
Starting point is 02:31:40 because I remember when we first started working with me and I didn't think I don't think you were a fan and then and then It wasn't that. It was just like, you know, when it's like we both got brought in to do the same job. And like neither of us knew what we were there to do. And it was always so like, we were, you know how wrestling is. They like pick you against each other just to like make you feel unsafe in the job. Like I never felt like my job was safe with that place, you know. And that's just the carniness of that world. Right. Yeah. Yeah. I felt the same when I was at WWE for 100%. But it's. But it's. like I think that he's just he's just such a motivated great dude and I mean you guys were on together it was like I was good I'm glad that you guys did um whoever Mike Rios says don't flirt with married athletes get your facts straight dude yeah I'll get rid of that
Starting point is 02:32:34 hold on Atari fan for life I'll get rid of a question for the kickstar and movie who wins K-O or smet's just kidding I'll be donating on day one good luck um that's the funny thing is like, I know you're going to delete it. That's a funny thing. And that's why I'm like, people will just latch on to whatever the first reported story is. And it's so unfair because, like, your life is dictated by that, like, for the next 10 years for that person. And it's like, that's something that I've had to combat for the last, you know, 20 years in my,
Starting point is 02:33:08 not 20 years. It's been less than that. But, like, for the last 15 years in my life, that's what I've had to combat is, like, the people that just thought that first thing made a snap judgment and then just didn't give a crap because nothing changed in their life. Tell them to watch that documentary. You should watch it. And you really,
Starting point is 02:33:26 you get so much more context out of that. And Mike Rios is actually a pretty good guy. He's been on. He's a member and he said, but Mike, that was not a great comment. You should go back and watch the, you should go back and watch the,
Starting point is 02:33:37 you should. It's fine. I'm here to change hearts and minds. Like that's why. And that's honestly what I'm doing with my hour. Surprising for Mike. Surprising for him. Lord Monk.
Starting point is 02:33:44 Can you eat white pizza? White pizza? Yeah. It saves my life. That's the only thing I got. It's good. Ayoia Yosha Yomatsu, bless you, Jen, for bringing laughs into this F-Up world. There you go.
Starting point is 02:33:57 That's the only way I know how. I'm coping with this. I always say comedy saves me. And if, again, if you're looking for ways to support me as a creative, like I don't have a YouTube channel. I don't have the bandwidth that these guys do to do this. I don't know how they do it. It's so crazy. But please go and share my comedy clips.
Starting point is 02:34:20 I think especially this community, like I've got a killer joke about Batman in my pin stuff, a killer. I just posted a clip of me doing stand-up at Comic-Con, dressed as Supergirl. Honestly, that was wild. I enjoyed doing stand-up in a blonde wig because the way people reacted to me was totally different.
Starting point is 02:34:40 Oh, yeah? How so? I got away with a lot more. Really? Like what? Do rob a bank? No, people were just like, oh, this quirky little blonde. And it's like, no, it's a really good weave. But I just, it softens me.
Starting point is 02:34:58 Because when you're a brown-haired girl and you have a lot of opinions, you're just a bitch. But when you have blonde hair, you're like, oh, look at this Nikki Glazer. You know what I mean? I think that's how I signed off the show is I was like, if you liked me, I'm Jen Sturger. If you didn't, I'm Nikki Glazer. Have a good night. That's hilarious. We are at 996, Jen.
Starting point is 02:35:14 talk to Craig, who, by the way, for both thank you to Ed and Go Pal, I just sent him the screenshot, and he is absolutely going to update that. But he also said, as soon as we hit a thousand, he's going to send out, he's going to put together something to give our first, like, update, because that's the first big update. Uh, grand master showed up. Christian, assuming we overshoot the Kickstarter goal, does that automatically guarantee us multiple seasons? Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Also, hey, Jen, you bad as hell. Would you ever date a 28-year-old, doctor asking for a friend. She said she got some she got somebody.
Starting point is 02:35:48 What kind of doctor? Like are you a plastics guy or like who are you? A dentist. Right, right. Or like, are you one of those people that's like, oh, we at a thousand? Are we? Let me say, hold on. Let me double check. I'm looking. Hold on. Let's
Starting point is 02:36:06 see. We are at clear. We are at a thousand, Jen. Did it. We did it. guys rule all right let's see i'm gonna send that to craig right now yes oh no there he is there's my guy thank you mike no no no no no no so we have um anyway uh thank you guys for that already a thousand within three days is amazing so now we got they say holistic doctor sorry i'm still on this doctor thing makes sense but let's let's do five let's do five thousand now now we got to do four thousand
Starting point is 02:36:44 more people. I'll be pushing it on every damn video. I'm going to be here all day. No, not today. Not today. Not today. We do another 4,000 days. But I was like, this just became a scene from Saw for me. Prish is not going to let you leave. No, no, not at all. But what I will say is, oh, we also have this one. I found you guys very entertaining. I know who Jen is. And I'm the dad, the 30-year-olds. There you go. So you should go and check out, go and check out. You missed that sliver of time, buddy. I promise.
Starting point is 02:37:12 I know. Go and check out the Shmodeham Bolt. Please do. It was a very special show to me. And, oh, an anesthesiologist. I'm listening. No offense to anesthesiologists. No. They have said some of the craziest shit to me that medical professionals have ever said. I got anesthesia for a colonoscopy, endoscopy one time. And right before he put me to sleep, the guy goes, you know, these are the drugs
Starting point is 02:37:41 that killed Michael Jackson. Oh, perfect. I was like, joking? Joking? Joking? Maybe? No, you're not. Well, either way, listen,
Starting point is 02:37:55 we did a thousand bucks, a thousand people today. Really, really awesome, excited, happy that you were here for that. Oh, to answer that previous question from the doctor. No, listen, this is, the goal of this Kickstarter, to overshoot the Kickstarter,
Starting point is 02:38:11 is to be able to put as much of it into the quality of the television show. And then what we'll be able to do is then, you know, make a tournament that we can make sure that will happen. And I've told, I said this yesterday. I think I have to be clear on this on every stream that the Kickstarter will fund the pilot. And I will be making sure that I am going to be shooting the pilot, putting all my effort into the pilot. And then once the pilot is done,
Starting point is 02:38:39 then that's what I'm going to say, okay, now I have to make sure that I stay true to my obligation and put together the tournament because I don't want to half asset. I don't want to have asset either one and I certainly don't want to mess up a performance because I'm putting together a tournament.
Starting point is 02:38:55 Yeah, but. Now you know you have people that you can delegate to and you can always be able to. 100%. Yeah, and we'll be able to... I was kind of like the unofficial HR. Absolutely you were. You'll be like, Jen, girls, doing something, just help me.
Starting point is 02:39:12 I can't. I don't know what they're talking about in that room and I don't want to get arrested. So go in there. So there you go. Guys, thank you so very much. I'm going to look one more time and see what we're at currently. We are at 1001. How about that?
Starting point is 02:39:28 We did it. And then we're going to see tomorrow when I wake up in the morning. People are watching on the replay, Jen, having you on this show again, too. More people are going to stand up because I'm going to know about what we got going on. Look at PLD with his haircut. Pop in here. we appeal they

Starting point is 02:41:23 We're fun storytellers. It's a good night out. We're doing a fan meet and greet as well. I may actually have some like special merch that I'm bringing for movie fans just because I need to print a certain amount of them. and I can only take so much with me to the New York Comedy Festival. So, you know, we'll see. Good.

Craig was on the show on Wednesday and said, hey, the campaign is, you know, the pre thing is live now and by the 22nd will be live and we already have a thousand people following. A thousand. So can we now get to 5,000 within that time?
Starting point is 02:42:35 I think the answer is yes. I think so. I think we can do it. So, let's see, Saul sent me a text. Christian, it's a lot of fun seeing in match promoter mode for the first time in four years. Hypothetically, how would Smet's versus K.O.4 work and attorney singles match and IG match one off. Dude, I have no idea. I have no idea. I don't know. Exactly. I have to see.
Starting point is 02:43:07 I have to see like how it overall works with what we were setting up and who wants to do it. You know, that's it. Um, but that's it. Thank you guys. I appreciate it. And we will see you guys on Monday. Oh,

If you're not already over there, I think most people are subscribed to it. If you aren't, go subscribe to that.
