The Kristian Harloff Show - Will Henry Cavill SURPRISE Comic Con and Announce That He is Returning as Superman?

Episode Date: July 22, 2022

Henry Cavill is beloved by fans for his portrayal of Superman. He had only one stand alone film with Man of Steel directed by Zack Snyder in 2013. It seemed as if Cavill's days of playing Superman wer...e over. However, recent rumors seem to suggest that Cavill may be returning as Clark Kent in another Superman movie. The other big announcement is that he will be showing up at Hall H at San Diego Comic Con to do it. How true do we think these rumors are? Brett and his wife started watching The Boys, did they like it? Rob Zombie says The Munsters did not cost 40 million to make, John Wick first images, Spielberg's best movies AND what is all of this drama with The Rocky franchise? This and more as Kristian Harloff, Winston A Marshall and Brett Sheridan discuss! Starting point is 00:01:09 We'll see you next time. Eat it. I figured it out. That means nothing to you. It means nothing to you. But I figured it out. How are you? Good.
Starting point is 00:01:18 I don't even know what you said. You might have said terrible. And I just said, good. Kind of friend of mine. We're not friends, though. Are we? We might be. Who knows?
Starting point is 00:01:26 But I will say this. I put a poll out. The time you see this was yes. yesterday, which is a conversation, rather, and asked you guys why you liked watching this channel. And I was just, you know, expecting certain content that we put up. And the amount of positivity and love that you showed to the, not only to me, but to the crew and everybody in general is very much appreciated. So I just wanted to say thank you before we even got into anything. All right, enough buttering you fucks up.
Starting point is 00:01:55 Let's do this. This is, this is going to be a fun show. I got Winston, I got Brett, and we're going to be talking about, I don't know if there's even anything going on yet at Comic Con. I guess we're recording this on a Thursday. So I would assume the Dungeons and Dragons trailer came out. I don't even know if it dropped yet, but it probably comes out pretty soon. But we'll probably drop while we're recording this.
Starting point is 00:02:17 So we'll talk about that. But I think the big, the thing that we're going to be talking about the most is this rumor that Henry Cavill is going to show up at, um, at the, uh, at the, uh, at the, uh, the panel on Saturday morning and they're going to make a big splash and say he's returning a Superman. Be a smart way to do it. They're also going to reveal that they discovered Ezra Miller.
Starting point is 00:02:39 They know where he is. Yeah, it's not true. But they will be saying Henry Cavill is going to be Superman. That's the rumor anyway. Let's talk about that. Deadpool and Logan apparently are going to be
Starting point is 00:02:53 showing up at Disney Plus. Did Brett finally watch the boys? Episode one with Lonnie, his wife. I made him, I asked Lonnie to do it. She told me she would. How did it play? And Lonnie hated it on purpose because she wanted to spite me. Or did she actually like it?
Starting point is 00:03:14 Time will tell. All right, let's get into it. Oh, you know what I definitely did? I guaranteed because I updated the whole system yesterday. And I was so proud of myself. You know why I was proud of myself? Because I got everything, got all the graphics done, everything. Look at that show logo.
Starting point is 00:03:27 Isn't that beautiful? Look at that show logo. It's just great. It's like you couldn't ask for anything better. There it is. All right, let's get into this thing. It's the show. It's the big thing.
Starting point is 00:03:39 Apple Podcasts, Spotify, everywhere. Podcasts are found. Do it, please. It helps the show. You know it. Come on. What's going on, everybody?
Starting point is 00:03:53 Welcome back to the big thing. I got to tell you, I enjoy listening to this show on audio as well. If I'm, if I like to relisten to the show, see certain things that maybe we could have touched upon that we didn't and all that. But have you listened to this on audio, Winston? I haven't. I was going to say that almost sounds so narcissistic.
Starting point is 00:04:14 But if you're doing it for the purpose of notes, that's watching game tape. Yeah, it's like notes. I listen to it and I want to hear the audio sounds and I want to see because it's been glitching a little bit on the, for some reason, on the video side of it. But I go and I listen to it and I listen back to it. And I go, okay, that plays pretty well.
Starting point is 00:04:32 And it's also like, you know, when you're doing stand-up and you watch like a set and you're like, oh, I've watched that clip of the Munsters thing that we did. And, you know, as comics, I'm going, shit. You know, we could have even went farther there. We could have done that. We could have went there. But I think it's, but it plays well in audio. I'll tell you a show that is awesome on audio.
Starting point is 00:04:51 And he's not even on. I was promoting it when he was on and I'll promote him when he's not on. It's Josh Harowitz's his show, the, um, the happy, sad, confused. That's a great listen in the car. I mean, he's, because there is no one that guy does an interview. He interviews everybody. He's the most recent one he had. She said, B.J. Novak has a new movie coming out called Vengeance that he wrote, directed.
Starting point is 00:05:12 I was listening to. It was pretty fascinating interview. But big fan of Josh Harwoods, big fan. Really good guy. Go subscribe to his YouTube channel, by the way, too. He's starting out. I think that YouTube channel is going to be massive. I think once he really locks in and figures out how to make YouTube work, like, guests are, like, the major, major key.
Starting point is 00:05:31 And that dude gets everybody. And he doesn't just, like, get people that, And then it's the standard. So what was it like working with so-and-so? Thank you. Okay. So I wanted to ask you for your prepar. He has a conversation with these people and they're so comfortable with them.
Starting point is 00:05:47 What is your process? What's your process? My process is not coming on this show ever again. Bro, the number of jobs I've lost out hosting-wise to people that just know people and that's all they do. Right. They just read shit off of cards. It's annoying. And I'm like, fam, I'm out here like, look at a Kiki Palmer talking about, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:06:05 I don't know this man. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, you know, like shit that has made them pop off and, and folks just, it's stupid. No,
Starting point is 00:06:13 I'm telling you, though, listen, listen, listen to Josh Harwitz. I mean, that is how you interview people. Yeah?
Starting point is 00:06:19 It's like he just talk. It's my, that's what I like to do. I just like to talk to people, and that's what he does. So I would highly recommend, uh, happy,
Starting point is 00:06:26 say I confused, not only on Apple podcast and all that. So that's, it's a great audio, but go to his podcast, his YouTube channel, but tell him that we sent you. All right.
Starting point is 00:06:36 So first things first. The boys. Tell me. Have you seen it? No, no. So let me, I'll tell you what happened yesterday. Okay, because I was harassing you for months. Yeah, I'm going to tell you what happened yesterday. So we were talking to, we, Roxy and I keep pushing him to watch the boys.
Starting point is 00:06:52 And he said, I want him, but I can't get Lonnie to watch it. I can't get Lonnie to watch it. And then yesterday, he goes, I'm just going to watch it on my own. I go, get Lonnie on the phone. So we put Lonnie on the phone, which I love Lonnie. I love her and I love her even more after the... So the first thing, Brett goes, Christian wants to know why you're not watching the boys.
Starting point is 00:07:09 And she goes, because I don't want to. And I was like, okay, so you're ready, won me over just with that answer alone. So I'm not going to push too hard. But then I said, why don't you watch... I don't know. I'm like, it's a great show. She said, why you're pushing it so hard?
Starting point is 00:07:23 I go, because it's great. She's fine. I'll try one episode. So that's where... That's the prequel. Okay. Now, here's my prediction. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:32 You told me yesterday, when I asked you yesterday, I said, is she the type of lady that's going to not want to watch something because someone's making her watch it? It's going to make her like it less, right? You said, no, no, no. She's, I think that's bullshit. I think she watched the first episode. Said, see, I didn't want to watch this. I wanted nothing to do with this.
Starting point is 00:07:54 And if you want to finish her for work, go ahead. But I'm over. That's my prediction. Okay. What do you think? My prediction. She liked it? Well, she'd love Peacemaker
Starting point is 00:08:05 Okay, because that's a good question Because peacemaker, the thing about the boys There is a lot of gore and it is much darker Yes. So like I don't know Lonnie So that's my question. Does she she does okay with Gore? No, no, no, don't answer any questions
Starting point is 00:08:20 Don't answer any question. You got it? You know Lonnie at least a little bit I don't know. I didn't know that enough. I asked the same to bullshit. I never met Lonnie in my life. So what?
Starting point is 00:08:28 I didn't know that's name of his wife. We're not talking about this way. This is his mistress. Yeah. He's the name of his mistress. Oh, this is this. Like Gumma. This is your side piece?
Starting point is 00:08:36 Oh shit. Okay, well then that. Yeah, it's called Sign Peace Special. That's the name of this report. It's the science piece. It's the science piece. What do you like some side space?
Starting point is 00:08:48 Yeah, and give me those two thoughts. Okay. I will put it this way. The ladies that don't mind Gore and stuff will be like, okay, this is a good show. But I know plenty of women in my life that the minute they see the big thing that happens in the first,
Starting point is 00:09:02 first five minutes, no pun intended. They're like, I'm out. Yeah. So I'm, I, not knowing that. Dancing around the issue. Not knowing that, I'm going to say she doesn't have with it. All right. She does.
Starting point is 00:09:12 Okay. So we both are on that side. We both are on that side. But for different reasons. Brett, I want you to start with, paint us the picture of everything that went down and then give us the reveal. Don't give us a reveal right away. All right.
Starting point is 00:09:24 Super, super, super stressed out at work right, by the way, my wife. Okay. A lot of big things. I think he loved it, by the way. Big thing going. I think Brett loved it. So I'm like, hey, you know, you're stressed out. Why don't we go get some sushi, you know?
Starting point is 00:09:38 Preping her first. Yeah, yeah. She's like, I don't know if I want to. So then, yeah, we ended up going, we got some sugar fish, came back home. I can ask you this, but I can't ask her. Yeah. What time are we dealing with right now in the month? Oh.
Starting point is 00:09:51 I'm not asking her that. I'm asking you that. Oh, right before. Right before. Okay, because we had a conversation with he has an app that tracks this, which I think is amazing. Yeah, it's the most brilliant. No, no, no, no. I've heard of the app.
Starting point is 00:10:01 Clue. And it's called Clue? Yeah, yeah. You check and you go, all right. So where are we on the Clue app right now? We're at eggshells. We're right before. We're just at the tail, you know, like little, might be some spotting if we want to get.
Starting point is 00:10:14 Hands up, tape, glass on the fist potentially. Yeah, the eggshells have started to be walked on. Right. Right. Making sense. Okay. So we get back and we're hanging out. I'm washing some bedding and stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:10:26 We sit down and I sit down on the couch and she's looking. That's a good move. I thought I just, well, no, yeah, that was a, that was a weird transition. No, but that's enough. But the washing the betting is also another way in. Yeah. To say, you don't have to worry about it. I already took care of this.
Starting point is 00:10:41 I've got it. I've got this. This is coming from a non-marry. You'll get there. There's enough. I just, she watches some times. I'm just not. All right.
Starting point is 00:10:50 So, go ahead, Brett. So then I sit down on the couch and she's on her phone and I think she, she's playing this game or whatever. And I sit down and I'm kind of on mine. She's like, are we going to watch the boys or what? Look at that. I'm like, oh, I thought, I was waiting for you. She goes, I was waiting for you.
Starting point is 00:11:05 Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. We say that, which is great. We say, oh, wait a minute. Because we both go, okay, wait a minute. But is this one of those, are we going to watch the boys or what? Or is this a, are we going to watch it? Or is it more like interest? Right in the middle of that.
Starting point is 00:11:18 Okay. So it's like, hey, this asshole made me promise on air that I was going to watch it. So we're going to watch one. Let's wrap it up and let's get to it. Which she was, she was mad at me that I called her. Oh, she was mad? Yeah. Why was she mad?
Starting point is 00:11:28 Not like mad, but she always, she's very shy with like this sort of thing. Like for instance, I said, hey, uh, don't, uh, leave your phone on because I might call you about the boys. And she said, no. Oh, no. All right. All right. You start off on a bad floor. But we still don't, but we still don't necessarily know if no means I don't want to give my positive review of it.
Starting point is 00:11:56 Or we don't know if it means I don't want to have to. defend myself on why I didn't like this piece of shit. Or even to just be live on the phone again. Yeah. That might even make you like a step back. All right. All right. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:12:06 So we started and we're watching. Spoilers. Spoilers. You know. Yeah, we can get spoilers on episode one season one. So yeah, I mean, right off the bad. Jesus. The A train part.
Starting point is 00:12:20 Yeah. The A train was like disintegrated. And you didn't know it was coming at all. Holding her head. Yes. What the, what were your, both of your reactions on that moment? It was just kind of like, okay, this is what we're in for. And I'm doing that thing where you're like, oh, God, you're looking over.
Starting point is 00:12:37 And, you know, I can, she's not really showing me anything. She's not showing her to the, you know, I actually had a poster of view on my wall. Right. And turn around, like, that scene, I'm like, oh, she's going to hate this. The deep. Yeah, yeah, the deep and, you know, like, hey, what a day. It's just three minutes, you know. But no, ever, she's quiet, she's quiet.
Starting point is 00:13:00 So we're watching everything's good. And let's just cut to, yeah, we get to the end of it. Because she's kind of quiet during my little laughs here. Yeah, maybe the end of the first episode. Right, you don't remember. We're three seasons in it. Oh, oh, end of the first episode. Oh, God, and now I got to remember.
Starting point is 00:13:17 The FBI agent who ends up not being an FBI agent. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Carl over. Yeah. Carl over. Got it, got, got, got, got, got, got, got, got, got, got, got.
Starting point is 00:13:26 Yeah. Is it when the invisible dude finds the... Okay, yes, yes, yes. It's in a laundromat. Yeah, yeah. Okay, got it. Go ahead. So we finish it up and I look her.
Starting point is 00:13:38 I'm like, okay, so, and she's like, I mean, it's a good show. It's not the greatest show I've ever seen. That's okay, though. But you know why that's okay? Because she hasn't gotten to the stuck yet. She hasn't gotten to the stuff. This is literally, this is literally your mama, uh-oh.
Starting point is 00:13:55 Gigli, cool. Yeah, yeah, there we go. This is literally your mom's making a meal and she lets you taste something, but it's not done. Yeah, she's had the sauce. You just tasted the sauce. You didn't get the full meal yet. Like, bro. Right.
Starting point is 00:14:07 You're not going to get the best show about it on one episode. No, not at all. But what did you think? Oh, I loved it. Yeah. Yeah. And but I, it wasn't like, it wasn't like super. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:17 Again, I'm like, I know for a fact it wasn't going to grab me so hard that I was going to be like, yeah. No, no, no. It's like, okay, let's warm into it. A hundred percent. That's, that was the same for me. Like I watched the first episode when I I watched the first episode a while ago, like a long time ago and said the same thing you said. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:33 It's a good show. I enjoyed it. And then everyone raving about and everything. I was like, I got to get back to it. I got to get back to it. The fans going to got to get back to it. And then I did. I'm just going to lock in and I'm going to watch the first season.
Starting point is 00:14:43 It's only like eight episodes, seven, eight episodes in the first season. And then once you start going, you don't want like, once you get to like episode three of season one, you guys are going to, is she going to finish watching it with you? Oh, yeah. Okay. No, it's definitely. She's interested. We did episode two last night. Oh, you did?
Starting point is 00:14:58 And I told you, I told you she's not, we're not the type of people. Like if she kind of likes something, she'll give that second. She's like, yeah. If she doesn't like it, she bailed. So I was wrong. We're definitely going to keep going on it. It's going to be a nightly thing. So you got to episode two.
Starting point is 00:15:11 So if I remember correctly, the plane incident has already happened. No, no. They didn't do the plane yet. You would know. No, you would know. Oh, no. I know the plane incident. Maybe we did three.
Starting point is 00:15:20 Oh, okay. We might have done three. Wow. We stopped midway through and kind of, I talked. I talked her through some worries she had at work, so there's a little bit of a gap in that. But, yeah, I think we, no, we did the plane incident. We did the blackmailing of the guy with the shapeshifter. Oh, which is great.
Starting point is 00:15:40 Yeah. Yeah. And Elizabeth's shoe is great. See, I just watched season one like two weeks ago. She's great and it. She's really good. Did she show up in, in, um, in, uh, Cobra Guy? Copickeye.
Starting point is 00:15:50 Oh, okay, because I was like, it's amazing. Season four. Three. What amazing time for the. the, you know, crotid actor. I mean, those shoes got this show? It's like... I mean, she's really great.
Starting point is 00:16:02 She's awesome in this, for sure. This is, uh... Yeah, so the show's awesome. Yeah. Oh, yeah. It gets, dude, it gets better and better. Yeah. It really does.
Starting point is 00:16:07 It gets insane. And the fact that now you see what I was talking about with season three, how they straight up said, I'm going to find a way to take everything that's happening right now and imprinted. Oh, easily. It's such, it's such a commentary on everything going on in the world, for sure. In season four, they have to figure out a way to pay to pass. parody Arnold farting in that woman's That's one of the best stories
Starting point is 00:16:29 What I liked about is that you know They touched on Which which one About the collateral damage And that's when in the It's a movie I did When they split up The when the marbles were fighting against it
Starting point is 00:16:43 Yeah yeah yeah You know how that is Yeah you know when the guy's in the thing And the man and he's like But this one hit it in a way that like was really Like the dude ran through And he's like, I'm sorry. And the apology.
Starting point is 00:16:58 And how about Simon Pegg showing up and everything? Oh, yeah. It's just great. It's so good. Yeah. Simon Pegg shows? I don't even remember that. He plays.
Starting point is 00:17:05 He plays, he plays a dead. Dude, I just, again, I have not seen season one and so long. He comes back in season two, but I don't think he's in three. And the C4 up the house.
Starting point is 00:17:13 Oh, right, right, right. Like, you're like, is he going to do this? Oh, that's what I love about the show. It, you can't predict where it goes. Yeah. Like, you can't. Like, you think, like, just when you think something is, you're like, oh, well, this has to happen this way.
Starting point is 00:17:26 And then something else happens. You're like, holy shit. They went there like that. And Carl Urban just gets better and better as Butcher. Yeah, I love you. You look like a porn version of the Matrix. Yeah, yeah. That kid's got some great lines.
Starting point is 00:17:38 And he looks like a young Colin Fur. Do you know who that is? Is it called for son? No, it's Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan's. Wow. If you start looking at him, he looks just like Meg Ryan. Yeah. Look just like Meg Ryan.
Starting point is 00:17:50 They may have thrown Firth in the mix. Maybe. But the funny thing is, is that as great as Carl Urban is, he's not even the star, the show from me. No, it's Anthony Star. It's Anthony Star. Yeah. Especially as you get to the second and 13th. That's a homelander.
Starting point is 00:18:04 Homelander, yeah. Oh, my God. Home Lander. The only thing I'll say, which you can already see, he's not mentally well. And you get to see that. Yeah, yeah. Just expand. And he's basically like the anti-superman.
Starting point is 00:18:17 Progressive Presents, adjusting to the suburbs. I never thought about space in my cramped apartment, but in this, house, all I see is empty space. The sofa and ottoman look like tiny islands in a sea of hardwood floors. I could get two Ottomans in the living room, but then I'd need another sofa. I could tell people I'm into minimalism. Anyway, when you save with Progressive by mumbling your home at Otto, that's the easy part of adjusting to the suburbs. Progressive casualty insurance company coverage provided in service by affiliates and third-party insurers.
Starting point is 00:18:48 And speaking of Superman, at Comic-Con, they're talking. Thank you. They're talking about, um, they're talking about this dude, man, Henry Cabell. It's all right. Listen, people were going nuts that this guy wasn't coming back. And before Discovery bought it, bought it over, the, the higher ups weren't going to have him back. And it didn't seem like they were going to do it. And it was, whether it was a Zach Snyder thing or whatever the hell it was, Henry Cavill wasn't coming back. And it's still not a guarantee that he is coming back. There's just Heavy rumors now that the, I guess, whatever the dude's name who runs Discovery now, or Warner Bros.
Starting point is 00:19:26 I forget the guy's name. But Hasloff or Sasloff or Fazloff, whatever the guy's name is. He is, he is apparently a big Henry Cavill fan. Again, rumors, who the hell knows? But the rumor is that this cat's going to show up in Hall H on Saturday morning, DC panel. They are going to bring the roof down if they do this and announce Henry. Calvel coming back. I think it's the move. I think it's a smart move. I think there's enough
Starting point is 00:19:54 if there's enough smoke, there's fire. But Winston, what do you think? I mean, I think that nobody has had a complaint about Henry Cavill. I feel like every other hero for whatever reason in the DC universe, you may, except for maybe Shazam, has gotten some sort of beef for something. So obviously you had what, you know, the Mad Goose Wizard is out here just punching women as he sees them and slapping things out of their hands. And, you know, I liked Ben Affleck, but a lot of people go back and forth about how they felt about him. Like, gal, I just
Starting point is 00:20:25 got that the mad goose wizard. Oh, that's what he called himself. You didn't remember that? For a second when you just said that, I was like, what fucked up comic? Is he talking? Yeah, I'm just nodding along. I'm like, I haven't seen this one I guess. Because when you nodded around and said that and you're saying that, and I'm like, well, Koi and him know these fucking
Starting point is 00:20:41 obscure hands is. And then when you said, I'm like, wait a minute. Yeah. Slapping. I mean, Ezra Miller did that. Ezra Miller did. You don't remember he's straight up on his phone. Hey, y'all, was good.
Starting point is 00:20:53 It's the bad goose wizard. Just to let you know. Ezra Miller likes to go by there. Let's go by, yes. Oh, oh. You're right. You're right. No, no, you're right.
Starting point is 00:21:03 You're right. You're exactly right. You're exactly right. wizard. But he's, but he was out here threatening to kill Klansmen. I mean, they were out here threatening to kill Klansmen. And, and, you know, again, choking women out on
Starting point is 00:21:25 video. But anyway, I thought it was a comic you were talking about. There's a polka dot, man. There's a mad goose wizard. There might as well be. Or a condiment guy. You could see the man goose wizard showing up in the boys. Absolutely. But I hope they do. But you're
Starting point is 00:21:40 saying totally that Buffy Kevin up. Everyone. I mean, obviously Ray Fisher pushing back on Warner Brothers. Well, yeah, before it got bought over, and we've talked about this recently. Warner Brothers was in a mess. And then it wasn't even this guy, again, Zazlov, Zazloff, Sazloff. He took on all this and takes, oh, I got the flash. That's great.
Starting point is 00:22:03 Got Michael Keaton come back. Sir, you might want to turn on the news. Fuck, right? Hey, we got this Alquemann 2. That's going to be, the first one made a billion dollars. Sir, you know, turn on the news. and TikTok. Fuck!
Starting point is 00:22:17 You know, it's like, it's, and the guy just keeps running into some shit. And so finally, some goodwill he could throw is, okay,
Starting point is 00:22:26 Henry Cavill, people love this fucking guy. And they love them. And he didn't get a chance to play Superman again in a standalone film since Man of Steel in 2013, whatever the hell it was.
Starting point is 00:22:37 Give him another movie. Absolutely. He is literally the only, because I mean, no issues with Jason Mamoa. I know a gal, part of it was like, the Imagine video and 84 didn't do very well.
Starting point is 00:22:49 But she's still doing a good job. But the only controversy with Henry Cavill has just been that mustache thing and that had nothing to do with him. No, I think bringing him back is a super smart move of if he's like down to do it. Seems like he is. And there's been these rumors also that, you know, with Shazam that he might be popping up in the second one.
Starting point is 00:23:09 And maybe that's the thing. Maybe that's the, maybe that he shot something for Shazam. And they want to get, They don't want it to get leaked and they want to get ahead of it. So they announce them. And plus, you want to have a big splash at Comic-Con and you want to have people talking. And if you're going to go first, you know Marvel's coming up seconds.
Starting point is 00:23:26 Like, okay, we just introduced Henry Cowell coming back and we introduced the new Superman movie. Now go ahead and do your thing, Marvel. Good luck. If I had to guess, I bet you either in a post-credit or something like that to kind of set up Shazam, maybe Superman shows up at the end of Black Adam. That's what it was. You're right. It was, Dwayne Johnson has been teasing Henry Cavill, I think, is what people, you're 100% right.
Starting point is 00:23:50 And I think you're right. I think that that's, you get ahead of it now because Shazam is the end of the year, right? Black Adams, October. So I think you're 100% right. Are both coming out this year? Yeah, Shazam is, I think, a week, either the same week as Avatar or the week before or after. I can't remember. That's a ballsy move.
Starting point is 00:24:07 Yeah, and then, well, it's two separate audiences. It's a comic book and the D.C. Faithel are going to come out to support that. No, no, no, no, I know they will, but just being another, like, kind of fantasy epic. Yeah. Yeah, it's a, it's a, it's a ballsy move. I think so, but I think that Henry Cavill coming back is going to be a big move. And if that's part of your slate, and I think that you don't have to do a big DC, EU, extended universe and all that shit, they've proven that they don't need to do it anymore. Give them another one.
Starting point is 00:24:32 They could cap it. They could do two things here, though, too, because it's not going to be Snyder that directs a new Superman movie if it is. They won't, I don't believe, especially now with all the shit that's going on with the Rolling Stone interview. and all that. I think that if you brought somebody in, like what I think that they shouldn't do, I'll be honest with you. I know J.J. Abrams has a deal. I know he's got a deal with them. Don't do J.J. Abrams and Superman right now. Find somebody new or newer, somebody who's going to be a rock star director and have him come out there and kick some ass with Henry Cavill back because you already got Cavill. If you have Cavill, you're ready to step up. Yeah. I think that's a good look.
Starting point is 00:25:11 Why all of a sudden can I not remember who directed this in just? left fast. Justin Lynn. Get Justin Lin to do it. I don't, I like Justin Lynn. I want to see a little bit more, not that he can't get deep and not that he can't get, I want to see a little bit more than just flare on the screen. No, no, no. I'm not saying he can't do that. But I'm saying team Justin Lin up with like a writer that can give you that. Because like he can pull it out of people because there are moments in the fast series where you're just like, wow, this is actually like relatively deep. It's just that you've put so much emphasis on the spectacle. If you give him a writer that can do it,
Starting point is 00:25:44 I'm curious. I think that they need, they definitely have to give him his own movie again, let him do his thing. He doesn't, they don't have to rely on because remember, he caught a raw deal when it, because that movie came out, Superman, Man of Steel. I love Man of Steel. I've always talking about that. But a lot of people don't like that movie. I really enjoyed that movie. And the problem was, because it did good.
Starting point is 00:26:12 It did real good. It just didn't do that kind of billion-dollar business that was, oh, because he's got to catch Marvel. You didn't need to catch Marvel. But what they did at the time, the execs that were in charge said, okay, well, you know what we got to do then? If we're going to catch Marvel, we got to team him up with Batman, and let's do Batman versus Superman for that X one.
Starting point is 00:26:30 And that's like, it's too fast. And it's like, let it build a little bit and let the guy have his own second, let him have a second movie. You set all this stuff up pretty well in Man of Steel. Let him have a second movie. and now we get a second movie. And again, I'm just predicting that this is what's going to happen. And I'm hopeful because I love Henry Cavill as Superman.
Starting point is 00:26:53 And that's what would the continuation be? Like, where's the story for Superman? Well, that's the beauty of it is that they're at a place right now where they can kind of go wherever the hell they want to go with it. Now, that's the big question that I think, I don't think the audience would even give a shit if they continued on past what they did in Justice League. Yeah. If they continued that on, great.
Starting point is 00:27:18 If they didn't, if they gave them like a separate spin-off type of thing, fine. Who cares? You're also about to reset everything with the Flash because they're using the Flashpoint storyline. Right. And that will have come out already at that point. Because there's time travel involved. It changes everything. So as long as it's after the Flash, which is what's coming, then you can do whatever.
Starting point is 00:27:40 you want and justify it. You know, you don't have to be like, well, we're just going to pretend like that didn't happen. You can just, whatever. So, now what if they, I mean, so you think they're going to put the flash out or do you think that they got to have to do that movie costs like $200 million. Yeah, too much money into it at this point. And I think it's, you put it out. Because I asked the same question, but Christian was the one that talked me into it. He's like, you've put too much money. You put it out. And then you never speak to Ezra Miller again. Yeah. It's, yeah, it's just, it's, you just, you move on. You got to move on at this point. And, reshoots because the problem with that movie is,
Starting point is 00:28:13 it's already cost like $200 million just to shoot. With marketing, anything else you're going to do. If you stick it out, you're going to take a massive loss to it if you put it on HBO Max, but you can still at least get subscribers out of it. So maybe you do that. Dalfa, though, because you're going to want to try to reap some of those costs back with how much money.
Starting point is 00:28:29 But the question is, is it going to hurt you at all because you got Ezra Miller in it. Now, can we just plug Tignacaro in there? What was that movie that? That was Army of the Dead. And a lot of people, it was, it was, I mean, it was just like, yeah, one of those kind of movies. I had fun with it. She replaced? She replaced.
Starting point is 00:28:49 Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, was it. It was Delia. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh. And it was wonderful in that. She was good in it? Well, Tiggs great. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:59 But it was funny. You remember her from back in the day? No, I never, I never met Teg. She used to come up. But, like, her specials are wonderful. And I think, I think the jokes, like, the real humor of that film was. with her. So I was like, okay.
Starting point is 00:29:11 Never saw it. Yeah, never saw it. It's fun. That's Zach Snyder also. Yeah. Yeah. It's not great, you know.
Starting point is 00:29:18 And there's this storyline of I hate my dad kind of a thing. You know, like kind of tropey with Baptista. Right. Right. But it was enjoyed. Yeah. But yeah,
Starting point is 00:29:26 I enjoyed it. And it wasn't, you know, I think the opening sequence was incredible. And maybe that was better than the whole film itself because it was this big, you know, zombie killing thing. A lot of it, it was a little too talky at points.
Starting point is 00:29:39 But. It was funny because I didn't know that TIG was plugged in until my wife told me. Oh, okay. Oh, that makes sense. And remember they did that with Christopher Plummer, obviously before he passed, with Kevin Spacey. Yeah. That one was like a super magic trick because they shut. That was similar to this, but also very different.
Starting point is 00:29:57 Where I can't remember the name of the frickin movie is, but he, so essentially Kevin Spacey was in the entire film. Movie was supposed to come out again, Oscar Buzz and all that. and I don't even know how long it took, but it seemed, it seemed like two weeks. They plugged this guy, Christopher Plummer in and put him in there, and I think he got nominated for it.
Starting point is 00:30:18 And they put him in. The difference is this. That movie probably has a budget of like $40 million, if that. This has been, what, $250? It's got to be something like that. And then the difference is the reshoots, like who knows what the reshoots cost
Starting point is 00:30:33 to get Christopher Plummer in there, not the same amount of reshoots that's going to get to get a brand new actor to come in and replace. Well, that's the thing. I don't think you would replace them. I don't think you replace Ezra Miller for the entire film. I think once Flashpoint is over, like the end, a post credit, whatever, because of the ripple effect, it's like, oh, everything kind of looks different, including myself.
Starting point is 00:30:54 So you reshoot maybe the last five, ten minutes of the film, which is still expensive, but it's not reshoot the whole movie. Exactly. Right. I mean, I don't know what they're going to do, but I don't envy Warner Brothers at this point, especially after you buy something. It's like, here's what you get. Get the fuck out of it. They took it. They bought it.
Starting point is 00:31:11 Let's get out of here. And they run away going, deal with that, suckers. And they're running down. We bought man from uncle also? Oh, Jesus. It's true. Who's on the line? Zombie.
Starting point is 00:31:23 Rob zombies's on the line. He was, he wants another 39 meal. He got pissed at people, by the way. He says that, he says that, well, obviously. He's a scary dude. I know. I'm sure he's seen our stuff and I'm sure he has. hates us because because he keeps me.
Starting point is 00:31:41 He's, he's said a couple different times, like, he's like, I don't know where people are coming up with this $40 million thing. He goes, I didn't, he's like, I wish I got $40 million. He's like, no way I got $40 million. And then I typed in $40 million, Rob Zombie, and our video is the first thing that pops up. And I'm like, oh, I'm like, uh-oh. And I'm like a white zombie fan.
Starting point is 00:32:05 Oh, man, I'm so old. But either way, like he's like, no, it did not. Look, I read those reports as well. If it, if it didn't find it, but I'm just telling you, that movie should. Sorry, Rob. I will still say, I like Rob Zami's music. I will still say that movie shouldn't, from what I saw on the trailer, that movie shouldn't cost formally.
Starting point is 00:32:24 I didn't, I haven't seen the trailer. Like, after everybody said how bad it was, I was like, I'm good. I don't need to spare myself. It's just, who knows? And like, like I said, the guy loves the monsters. I don't know Rob Zami, but I'm going to tell you, I thought the trailer looked terrible. You know what? What isn't terrible, though, what is not terrible is this private internet access that we just joined up with.
Starting point is 00:32:43 Big fan. So if you guys didn't know and you have no clue what private internet access is, you can get secure data protection. You can keep your identity private with private internet access, VPN. Now with them, you get secure access, internet freedom, secure connection, online privacy, and more. And with their encrypted network traffic, it keeps your private data secure and even on public Wi-Fi. You can hide your IP address and you connect anonymously to the internet as low as $2.69 a month. You just got to go to private internet access.com slash big thing. Please go and check it out and let me know if you get it, if you dig it.
Starting point is 00:33:23 I want to hear. I always like hearing about what you guys are using, what you guys like. All right. Let's get to the next story, I guess, that we've been talking about here is obviously Superman Henry Cavill sold you yes or no Henry Cavill showing up Saturday morning at the Warner Bros. panel. Brett. I'm pretty sure. I'm, I'm, that sounds like a good rumor and something that would really make it a spectacular thing like we've talked about.
Starting point is 00:33:50 Brett says yes. Winston? Absolutely. D.C. needs a win right now. I'm going to, I'm going to finish the trifecta and say yes. I say Henry Cavill shows up and we get an introduction of a new, of a new Superman movie. All right. So next one. finally, Deadpool and Logan and all these movies are coming to Disney Plus finally. I told Winston about it. It makes sense because they added that adult thing to it, what, like three, four months ago. And there's some stuff on there. But everybody kind of thought, okay, well, where's Logan?
Starting point is 00:34:22 Where's all this stuff? Where's all that Fox stuff? And now finally, I wonder if New Mutants will be on there. You know, he still haven't seen that movie? I saw half of it. Is it bad? Yeah. It's real bad.
Starting point is 00:34:30 I forgot about that. I was on a plane and I was like, all right. I have no stakes here. Plan's always tough. I know because of the screen size. I get that. But I was like, there's no stakes here.
Starting point is 00:34:41 I've already heard how bad this is. I'm not going to spend money on this thing. So let me just see what's going on. And from what I saw for the first half, I was like, oh, I don't care. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:50 And that sucks. Oh, I will say this. It's very fun. And Nope isn't even really like a horror movie. It's like a science fiction thriller. Watching horror with this guy's got to be hilarious. It's got to be like McCougat style.
Starting point is 00:35:01 Because like he, you jump like, like seven different times. It was hilarious. And obviously, people have seen in the trailers, like Kiki Pum would be like, no, no, not. So there's plenty of moments where that or Daniel Kaluya is being like, nope.
Starting point is 00:35:14 And I straight up did in the field. You did. I'm trying to tell you, if you're going to go watch this movie, y'all, go far. Like, it's weird to encourage white people to invade black spaces, but go to a black theater and watch it with a whole bunch of black folk. I swear to God it's going to be hilarious. It was fun watching it with you, yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:35:33 but I like I like it's it's it's it's funny though we've been this last two movies whether it was Thor and this one like I like this way better than Thor but um but there was it seems like it's the same thing there seems to be there's a lot of people who love it and I think that again without spoiling anything about nope and we'll get back to Logan and Deadpool in a second but without spoiling and I said this yesterday I think that you have to be that he sets up everything very well from the start of the movie into the end but you've just got to be on bored with what the end is. If you're not on board with the end, the way it's, because it all makes sense.
Starting point is 00:36:07 And you go, oh, that's what he's trying to say. That's what he's doing there. I just was like, okay. I thought both Daniel and, uh, and Keyy Palmer were fantastic together. The performance is wonderful. The ending, though, and when we do our spoiler talk, there's a particular scene that happens in a barn is all I'm going to say. And I was like, oh, I was thought the movie was going to be like that, the whole movie.
Starting point is 00:36:30 Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I was, no, no, no. To be honest with you, and that's the thing that's so interesting about Jordan Peel movies, he's done a really good job of making it accessible to everybody. Yeah. But it's going to click completely differently for black folk. And there's a lot of themes in there that I, as a black man, I mean, it was like, yep, I totally understand.
Starting point is 00:36:51 And that's part of why I know Christian, you'd probably give it with like an A minus or something. I think I gave it a little over 3.5, 3.6. So it's like, it's just about a little over 7 out of 10. Okay. And I would straight up just give it an A because of things that I, from my experience and things like that, I immediately go, I see what that is. I know what that is. And you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:37:12 So that's the one thing I give him a lot of credit for is he's found a way to talk specifically to the audience he's aiming for while still talking to everybody at the same time. It's funny. Do you see that there's a tweet some. Yeah, I saw that. So some guy tweets out. Hey, it's really funny actually. Can we just go ahead and deem Jordan Peel like the best.
Starting point is 00:37:32 best horror director ever after these three. You know, he's like, who else does this? And he shows, like, the last three movies have all, like, positive scores. And Jordan Peel writes back, he goes, sir, please put your phone down. It was really funny. He's like, I'm not going to let you besmirch the great John Forbenter. And I gave Jordan Peel so much props for that. So much props.
Starting point is 00:37:52 He's like, dude, cut it out. He's like, I appreciate your enthusiasm. Very kind of you. But stop this. Stop this. You can't, because, Enlight Shyamalan came out. and I don't know, I don't necessarily know what the Rotten Tomato score was, but Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and Signs are all very popular with people.
Starting point is 00:38:12 But Unbreakable isn't a horror movie, is it? It's, you're talking about Bruce Willis. Yeah, I guess you're right. I mean, three in a row, but I mean, I don't necessarily consider Nopa horror movie. I think it's a sci-fi thriller. It is a sci-fi thriller with like horror elements. Yeah. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:38:31 And it's, it's, there are definitely, I, I feel like the horror part that got me as the Barnes you're talking about. Yeah. Right. And there's a moment where we first see absolute chaos with, it's hard to talk about. Yeah, I know. Right, right. That I straight up was like mortified.
Starting point is 00:38:51 Sure. I'm not saying it's not disturbing images and stuff too. But, and that's why I would put it in the thriller category more so than anything else. But like a horror movie? I would get out as a horror movie. Us is a horror movie, for sure. Horror thriller, absolutely. This is more sci-fi thriller, in my opinion.
Starting point is 00:39:10 You know what it is? I think it starts off as a horror movie, and once we realize what we're in, it switches to us. I think that's fair. I think that's fair. Once you realize what's going down, and we're not spoiling anything there
Starting point is 00:39:20 because in the trailers, they kind of give that away in this. If they didn't give that away in the second trailer, the last trailer, then I would know, what are you guys doing? But I get it. I before I actually flashback to the Deadpool and Logan, I also want to tell you guys more so,
Starting point is 00:39:36 and as I've been telling you about athletic greens, I'm also very excited in Arnold Winston Noses. They re-uped. They're going to be with us for a while, and we're excited about that. And the reason why is because I can't now, every, and I hope to see that again in today's comments, but every video that we post,
Starting point is 00:39:51 somebody tells me about how they got it. And they got it because they kept hearing about it at TechPETA. It was like, I hear you talk about it off air. He's like, is it really that good? I'm like, it's great. It's really good. I love athletic greens. And we wouldn't promote anything on the damn show if we didn't love it.
Starting point is 00:40:05 And that's what we're telling you about it. And I think that's why they're sticking around. I started taking it because I was just never a big vitamin person. And to be able to take one supplement that I like, that tastes good gives me a boost energy. It's great. Winston's even getting in on it now. You finally got me.
Starting point is 00:40:21 I did. It's really good, man. I use it all the time. Brett, I don't even tell you about Brett, Brett uses it. Did you already have yours today? I got it, I had it this morning, and I got it for my mom, or birthday is going to be when this airs.
Starting point is 00:40:32 She used the code? Yeah, yeah. Of course. Oh, I've got to support the show. You got to use the code. So, and for everybody, use the athletic greens, use it. You take 75 high quality vitamins, minerals, whole food, source, superfoods, probiotics, adaptogens, all of it, and you help you start your day right.
Starting point is 00:40:46 The blend of ingredients that supports your gut health, your nervous system, your immune system, your energy, you recover, your focus, aging, all the things. And for me, I, everything that I just mentioned you, that's why I, I take it and I love the taste of it. Now because I've been doing it so much, I really love the taste of it. It supports mental clarity and alertness. It supports better sleep quality. Have you gotten used to the taste now?
Starting point is 00:41:06 I have. That's what I'm saying you finally got me. I also realized the big thing that they say on it, no pun intended, is to use cold water. And I just use like a warm water bottle. Cold water changes immediately. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it costs you less than $3 a day. It's cheaper than getting all the different supplements yourself and you invest in all-in-one
Starting point is 00:41:25 nutritional insurance. It's funny because, oh, so I will say there's two things I want to give, I want to give two shoutouts. I want to give a shout out to Cooley High, the great Cooley High. It's his birthday, and I have to give him a shout out, and he's one of the best out there. Love Cooley. So happy birthday to you, my friend. Yeah, happy birthday. Yes. Cooley shares a birthday with my mom.
Starting point is 00:41:48 Oh, really? It's your mom's birthday? Tomorrow. Oh, right? We're doing tomorrow. Today is tomorrow. Today is Friday. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:58 And again, I don't know if you guys are getting a glitch right now or not, but I've been glitching up for a little bit. So if it's glitched at the moment, we're going to talk through it. But just again, Athletic Greens is absolutely phenomenal. We love having them. You go to athletic greens.com slash big thing. You go to athletic greens.com slash big thing. It's great.
Starting point is 00:42:19 They're going to give you a free one-year supply of immune-supporting vitamin D and five free travel packs with your first purchase. all you have to do is go to athletic greens.com slash a big thing and you take ownership over your health and pick up the ultimate daily nutritional insurance make sure that you go ahead and do that we love our friends over at athletic greens um yeah what i was going to say is i want to give a um a shot out to dude reached out to this guy by the name of tyler and um he uh he's started i forget he's I forget where he said he found us from. I think maybe the Top Gun Review.
Starting point is 00:42:58 And he sent a really nice email. He sent a video. He talked about how he was a fan of the show and watched it for a bit. And he bought it because I responded to him. I thought it was a really nice email. And he said, well, I'm going to buy a rumple blanket now. Good. I hope he loves the blanket.
Starting point is 00:43:13 It's great. But he had also said, well, I don't get the athletic greens because I'm more of a meat and potatoes guy. This isn't like a vegetable diet. Yeah. This is an energy drink. This is, this is, this is. Supplements. Not an energy drink.
Starting point is 00:43:26 Excuse me. Supplement. Yeah. I mean, that's the thing. Container. I'm just, I'm just curious because, uh, what I'm doing, my sister's a, my drip that that's the, that's the vitamin D that you put in.
Starting point is 00:43:36 Like it's a, it's one drop of the vitamin D and K in each one. The only reason why I ask is because what? I'm, I'm on whole 30 right now. Do you not use the packets? What do you use? I use, I have it in the container. You know, I do the bags. Oh, you do the bags.
Starting point is 00:43:48 Yeah. I got the little backs too. But I just, I wanted to tell him that, so it's not, it's not like a, like a vegan drink or a vegetarian. And you can. It supports that type of habit. But it's more so for the vitamins. No, my mom looked up the ingredients and said, I can stop taking all of these supplements that I take, which is, like, it's hundreds of dollars of like. It all combines into one.
Starting point is 00:44:06 So that's what it is. That's, no, no, that's the only reason I was asking, because I'm doing Whole 30 right now. And so I, like, there's a lot of stuff you have to be, like, super careful that you're not taking. Right. And this doesn't look like it's any of those issues. It looks like that would work on that too. Yeah. All right.
Starting point is 00:44:23 So let's get back to where we're going here. So we're going to get back to the Logan and Deadpool thing. I mean, this is the move, right? You got to do this. This is some of your biggest properties. And I think that it's funny. I've seen both of them a bunch of times. I think I'm going Logan first when it pops out there because before, like when we're talking about directors, like I want Mangold to do everything.
Starting point is 00:44:46 Yeah. And I can't believe. I mean, I guess I can't because it's the internet, but I can't believe how people are not more excited for Indiana Jones 5 with Mangold directing. Like, this guy put, Logan, most, a lot of people will tell you that it's one of the best X-Men movies. One of the best superhero movies.
Starting point is 00:45:08 And Ford versus Ferrari, another great movie. I mean, shit, man, Kate Leopold isn't that bad. The guy is, the guy is, and Copeland, he's just so good and I still think an underrated director that I'll be I love Steven Spielberg I love him and I know it's blasphemous but I am more excited that Mangold is directing this one than Spielberg is if you said to me okay you can only have a man I know I know I'm in the minority but if people were like okay Spielberg decided he wanted to direct it and not Mangold or you could have Mangold or spillberg who would you pick right now today I'm picking Mangled I'm picking Mangled because I think Spielberg
Starting point is 00:45:48 is making the better movies like The Post and these other movies. He's stupidly shooting Mumford & Son videos on his iPhone. That's right. That's true. It's true. We didn't even talk about yesterday, but he is doing that. But yeah,
Starting point is 00:46:01 but that type of stuff, I think that's, when you get a little older to this, things you want, and you're as successful as his asses, he can do whatever the hell you want. West Side Story is one of his best movies in a long time. It's beautiful and it's really well done.
Starting point is 00:46:16 And it's, it's a master making masterful work. I think that when it comes to those bigger blockbuster things, I know he still can do it obviously all day long, but I just think there's something with a mangle that is playing, he's in his prime right now. Spielberg's like just, you know, he shows up for the All-Star game.
Starting point is 00:46:34 He hits a couple home runs and then that's it. Because my other question with Spielberg is like, obviously West Side Story was amazing. What was the last like adventure epic that he like took and knocked it out of the park? Because, you know what I'm saying? Obviously, he's still Spielberg. Like, if he does it, it will still be good. Right.
Starting point is 00:46:50 But there's a very specific, like, thing that has to be there to make this epic adventure-type film. Right. You know what I mean? Let me look. I'm going to look at what he's done recently. Steven Spielberg, IMDB, let's say. I mean, a lot of the stuff, again, if you look at stuff that he's done recently, the stuff that I've liked has been the smaller stuff.
Starting point is 00:47:15 and the stuff that, like I said, like the post, like, West Side Story. I don't know why it's not coming up right now. But as soon as it comes up, I will bring up his list. Here it comes. Okay. So he recently has done, so he's doing something called the Fableman's, the Cannibal music video, the Marcus Mumford, Cannibal, the West Side Story. Okay, Ready Player 1.
Starting point is 00:47:43 Ready Player 1. I like Ready Player more than most people. I enjoyed it, but like... Not groundbreaking. It's not. And I think back to like, obviously it's, it's been a while, but I think back to like Jurassic Park. Like that's that kind of like adventure film where he's in his prime shooting adventure
Starting point is 00:47:59 blockbusters. Exactly. Because when you get a little old, you don't need to do those as much too. Like the post is something to me, West Side Story and the post were better than ready player one. The BFG I never saw. I didn't see that. Bridges spies I didn't love. Lincoln I loved.
Starting point is 00:48:14 Lincoln I loved. But that's also not an action blockbuster epic. That was a character-driven. Same. Same with War Horse. I think the Adventures of Tintin is very underrated. It's an animated film. But how long ago was that?
Starting point is 00:48:25 That was 2011, right. Indiana Jones is really, and people didn't really like that. No, I didn't like it at all. War of the Worlds, Munich, War the Worlds, but again, we're talking to 2005 back there. War of the Worlds might be the last epic, like, adventure, sci-fi, like.
Starting point is 00:48:42 That's 17 years ago. You know what I'm saying? It's just, it's literally the idea if you took like a basketball player, you're able to go dunk on people all day. But the older you get, you start learning how to do with jump shot. Right. You can't, you know. Yeah. And that's it.
Starting point is 00:48:54 It just feels. But you also love to do things a little bit more, you know, like, and he might. And so he might not, that's probably why he does to put that kind of stuff in there. Plus, and I don't think George Lucas is right in this one. And, and I don't necessarily, to be honest with you blame Spielberg as much for the last Indiana Jones as much as it's George Lucas, right? George. the two of them together because like there's some really ridiculous like unforgivable stuff in that movie like and i don't think and i don't think harrison ford was was checked into that movie i always say it
Starting point is 00:49:23 all the time when i talk about that film there's a scene in the beginning in this warehouse where he's he lands in the he lands in the truck with the russians and he looks over as he falls in between the two russians and the russians go like this and he goes damn two shorts and it's like so it's like it's like And it was like something that's Saturday Night Live. And it's like that's... And India always had that kind of humor to him in the first three, but it was different. It seemed like it was actually part of what was going on in the circumstance.
Starting point is 00:49:52 And I think that I believe that that's what Mangol... I think Mangol's going to pull that out of him. I think that Mango is going to make a very special Indiana Jones movie. I couldn't believe people going, oh, it's going to be like, it's not going to be that good. You judge it off the last one. It always happens. Well, the last one was terrible.
Starting point is 00:50:10 So this one has to be terrible. like Kalinowski. Oh, they should just stop making them. I love Indiana Jones. They should have stopped making them. James Mangold? You don't want to see what Mangold can do with, I don't know. It's, you left a bad taste in people's mouth. Totally. The idea is you certainly go forward again, but you are running the risk with how it's not even a three strike thing. After that last bad one, if you put out another horrible one, then that's, and that's the thing.
Starting point is 00:50:34 Now people will go back and say, you know, judgment day and obviously the first one are like really good. second, yeah. But the franchise is a joke at this point. It's true. And it's like the crow. Eventually, it's like, I mean, how many can you put on before you have to either put them, put straight to streaming or, or cut your budget? You want to go to Terminator. I still think the way you save Terminator is you make a $40 million, $50 million terminator movie.
Starting point is 00:50:59 I mean, back in the day, that, that's the equivalent to like a $5, $10 million. I know a guy could get $40 million. You really, you really. I really don't ever want to meet him in person, do you? Whoa. Here you keep saying my shit costs $40 million. How'd you find me? Holy shit.
Starting point is 00:51:22 He's definitely going to show up one day. Imagine he's like, I want to do your show. What would you do? I mean, I have to say yes. Yeah, shit myself. We shit ourselves the whole time. He said, we didn't mean. We didn't mean.
Starting point is 00:51:33 We didn't mean. He's like, crack your jokes now. Crack your jokes now. He's got his fucking staring at you with all his tats. What if this becomes the Minions Rise of Gru that people are just like because it's become a meme, the Munser's like becomes a number one movie in the country or in the world for a week.
Starting point is 00:51:50 Well, remember, it's not coming out in the theaters anymore. Oh, really? Netflix just picked it. Oh, no. But, and they're putting it on demand. But it doesn't go away from your point that what if it just boosts subscribers and what if it does really well? Because he and I are going to watch it?
Starting point is 00:52:06 I'm going to take like five edibles and, and watch the hell of it and probably do it live. You know, we should do, that's, someone asked me on, where the hell was it? I can't remember one of the streams. They asked if I was going to be doing any more live shows. So I can't really talk too much yet about plans for coming up because I don't really know yet. I mean, I hope to have more announcements.
Starting point is 00:52:26 I mean, I know I want to do a tour. I know I want to do all these other things, but I just, just a couple things in motion. But as far as doing it, and when I say live shows, I don't mean just doing on the road. People are talking about actually doing like live streams. again.
Starting point is 00:52:38 And I had straight away from them for a while, but I think that I'm going to do a few kind of moving forward. And it might be really fun to do something like that and stream up maybe doing it on Twitch or something because like, so we can actually run the movie while we're doing it. I don't know. It's just something we can, we can talk about. We can figure it out. See any other news?
Starting point is 00:52:58 Deadpool Logan coming in. That makes sense. And then, oh yeah, and then John Wick is the first image of John Wick on from the new movie. That sure is John Wick. I hope this fairs better than the Bourne franchise. And I think it will. Where you ended up after you got through the trilogy, then... The first three of the best.
Starting point is 00:53:18 And then nothing against Jeremy Renner, it's just kind of a spin-off in the lore. I actually don't mind that movie, the Jeremy Renner one. It's just not Jason Bourne. And then when they get back to Jason Bourne, I did rewatch that movie recently. And it's not bad. It's okay. It's not bad. If you go bad, it's just not as good as the first three.
Starting point is 00:53:36 I mean, the first three is so good. If anything, I think it's the same thing we were talking about. You're jacked in for those three movies that you maybe don't, haven't written all three, but you're so in the mode of like, let's wrap this story like perfectly. Yeah. Then coming back to it,
Starting point is 00:53:50 you got to hope that you still have what makes it magic. Yeah. Yeah. And I think that that's, but the difference is I think that there was so much of a, like a massive break in between, um, born movies.
Starting point is 00:54:04 Like the first, the first three came. came out, I think, in a span of like seven or eight years, I think, right? Like, they were within, within reasonable time. And then the renter one came out, like, 2012 or something. And then the other one, Matt Damon didn't come back until, like, 2016. But that was already, he was so far removed. I think it was like almost 10 years since the last one he did.
Starting point is 00:54:26 And he would only come back if Paul Greengrass came in. John Wick, they've done, they were supposed to come out, and the pandemic kind of set it back and then everything too. So he's engaged, they're engaged. they're engaged. And they've set it up really well. And there's going to be like a spin-off series, like I think a streaming series that they're going to do also.
Starting point is 00:54:44 About the hotel, which is something. That's right. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So I'm, I think that this is, I'm excited for this movie, man. I'm really excited for this movie. So it isn't, but it isn't, I thought it was shot already. Yeah. Oh, it is.
Starting point is 00:54:56 Okay. They're just teasing out. They're just showing the first image of it. So like, I keep forgetting because I keep saying, because I watch this with my son. And I'm like, hey, do you want to watch the new John Wick? He's like, Dude, we've seen all three. The fourth one comes out later.
Starting point is 00:55:08 I'm like, oh, they're right. I'm pumped. I'm pumped to see it. And shoot, there was something else that I was going to bring up. Yeah, well, but it also reminds me of like, so movies that have been pushed back. One of the movies that got pushed back was Crete. Crete was supposed to come out at the end of this year. So they pushed it back.
Starting point is 00:55:30 It's supposed to come out in November. It is historically, the Creeb movies have come out in November. there's so much shit going on with this this this movie right now and the rock oh dude and in general like so breaking down this kind of saga of what has been going down thus far now frank stalone post something um and frank stalone is very outspoken and says a lot of shit on twitter and instagram and everything too but he was very outspoken about he just annihilated michael b jordan on on instagram or something right and just talked about how that michael b jordan basically ran stalone out of the franchise and Stallone wanted to come back
Starting point is 00:56:07 and Michael B. Jordan just kind of pushed him out and it was horseshit and paraphrasing, right? Now, you could say, well, that's Frank Stallone just yelling and screaming. The only problem with that is that Stallone liked the post on Instagram. Sylvester Stallone did. Well, didn't really comment on him,
Starting point is 00:56:23 but just liked the post. So that's part one. Michael B. Jordan was asked at one point about Salone. You know, we wanted to make it, and this is a fair statement to which he said, we wanted to make it our own. and we wanted Adonis to kind of go off and doing his own thing when they asked him about Sloan coming back.
Starting point is 00:56:39 I think, and I understand that, but in some capacity, if Stallone did want to come back, you got to let him come back because he invented the freaking thing. A little bit. So if he wanted to come back, if that's the case, I don't know what the circumstance is. If they pushed him out because, well, we don't have a place for Rocky anymore
Starting point is 00:56:57 and I want him to stand on his own. If Stoller, I want to come back to one scene, then let him do one scene. But see, that would be, the thing, though. I don't even feel like he would want to do one scene. You want to do more probably. He'd want to be a key element of the film. Well, yeah. I mean, he just want to stand
Starting point is 00:57:12 Lee it. He wants to come in. He wants to do more, but I mean, and which is, again. Well, I'm dead, Brett. But so, but it's not over here yet. Because then, what's the name? Irwin Winkler, who, not, uh, which, who's, who's, who's, who's, who's, who's,
Starting point is 00:57:28 Henry. Henry, right. So, Irwin Winkler is the producer of the Rocky movies. Stallone annihilates this guy on on the on his Instagram I mean annihilates him Frank again or Slice no sly post about how Winkler was a was a was a sly snake and post like an animated thing of Winkler as a snake and like like three and say I want the I'd like to get the rights back at least portion of the rights back to my stuff after so many so I can pass it on my children and then he deleted the post afterwards too I don't know if it was legally whatever happened to but he's going on after him and a lot of people are saying because because winkler also controls creed yeah a lot of people are thinking that it was winkler that also kind of told michael b jordan let's just kind of push sly out here and then he now so that's where all of this it all makes sense together and then people are saying well if sly can get his because look at what happened with dave chappelle when dave chappelle was
Starting point is 00:58:22 like Netflix or or Netflix was air and all this stuff a comedy central took all my shit and gave me a bad deal. And it's years later, I want my shit back. And the audience was like, well, fuck you guys, give him a shit back. And he got his shit back. If anybody deserves to get their shit back, Stallone should get his shit back. I'll tell you that right now. Like, if I didn't know how much and if he got screwed over or whatever the deal was,
Starting point is 00:58:49 I have no idea. I don't know what happened. I'm still going to see Creed 3. I still want to, because I don't know all the details. If it turns out that they really fucked them over and they really, then I don't know. that might be a harder decision to see it. I like Michael B. Jordan. I like that franchise.
Starting point is 00:59:02 But I want to know the true, the real story of what's going on because, like, slides my dude. No, I get it. And I wonder what, what does it become? Does Creed then splinter off and become its own thing? And he gets, you know, Rocky and that side back. And it just becomes two separate. It's tough now, though, too.
Starting point is 00:59:17 No, no, because it's his, it's, it's, it's his character. Yeah. I mean, I mean, granted that it was Ryan Cougler who probably came up with the character of Adonis, but it's spawned. from Apollo Creed. And that comes from, like, so the whole, the story of that and the way that came about is that Fruitvale Station had not come out yet.
Starting point is 00:59:38 And Coogler pitched it's still on. And again, I, one of my favorite interviews all the time, I got the interview, and I'm pretty sure, and Cooger as well, and I'm pretty sure they told me this story. So he went in there pitch it, and Slice was like, I'm done telling Rocky stories, everything too. And then Fruitvale Station comes out, and it blew Sly away. and he loved it.
Starting point is 00:59:59 So he took the meeting with him again, and Coogler, who had watched all the Rocky movies with his dad and just had a great, had a really had a take on it, and was passionate about it. And if you listen to Ryan Coogler in a room, you're like, okay, I know why he sold this. Because, I mean, he doesn't, he doesn't bullshit. He's like, he's coming at it and he believes in it.
Starting point is 01:00:17 So he does that. He tells Sly, and they get it made. I do think, and I liked Creed, too. I think that their franchise took a little bit of a dip when he left. Nothing against Stephen Stapleton, I believe, who directed it? I think so, yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:32 And I liked him, but I just think Coogler had a little, little bit more of that special flair. That's why Coogh was Coogler. Yeah, no, absolutely. I mean, that's why I can't think of a single Coogler movie that's, like, missed. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:44 You know? Yeah. That poor bastard, though, too, man. He's got, like, he's got freaking Black Panther, too, that he was supposed to do a while ago. And then, you know, all the stuff with the, with the sad passing of Chadwick, and then you know where they were in the pandemic and so he's been he's been he's been held up like
Starting point is 01:01:02 for a while he's supposed to do i think black panther was supposed to come out what before like 2020 something like 21 last year yeah yeah yeah yeah so anyway lots going on and before i let you guys go also um for video creators out there and you you don't know it we've been talking about it's story blocks. Winston's been trying story blocks. Brett doesn't make content, but he would be trying.
Starting point is 01:01:25 You will. The video is the most effective way to capture an audience's attention. You know that. Modern storytellers are always challenged to creating more video content at a higher quality,
Starting point is 01:01:34 involving more voices in the process and distributing on more platforms than ever before. But as a creator, you did a lot of barriers that you'd face. Meeting output demands, time, budget, knowledge, creative inspiration, passion, burnout, mental health.
Starting point is 01:01:47 It's all there. Storyblocks, makes it possible for creators to keep up with the growing demands for modern video content so you can bring all your stories to life and stop sacrifice your vision due to time, budget, or resources. So go to storyblocks.com. Pick out the program that is right for you, storyblocks.com slash big thing. Storyblocks.com slash big thing.
Starting point is 01:02:06 Get it. Help your video content. Get it today. It helps out tremendously. And as I mentioned to you before, and I mentioned to you again, and I mention to you every single show. And it's been working because you guys have been doing this. I get questions of, hey, I can't join Patreon.
Starting point is 01:02:23 What can I do? Well, if you can't join Patreon, I understand. You can pick yourself up some athletic range. You can help your video content out with storyblocks. You can help yourself out and protect yourself with private internet access. You can do any one of those. Well, I can't do any of that. What do I do?
Starting point is 01:02:37 Well, you can go to Apple Podcasts. You can subscribe to that feed. You can go to Spotify. If that costs you nothing. You can leave a comment. You can click like. You can do all that. You can share the video.
Starting point is 01:02:46 A lot of you, a lot of you haven't even watched that Star Wars animated thing that we did. That thing is so done, so great, done by the great diesel time. And every single comment has been up on the video, you guys are loving it, but not a lot of you have seen it. Go to the Star Wars animation special that we did. And please leave a comment and check that out and share that thing. Like it's got, it's got Josh Robert Thompson as Morgan Freeman do as Mace Wind do. It's got me talking to George Lucas about arming E1.
Starting point is 01:03:16 walks with spikes on their backs. It's got Mark Ellis talking about where he thinks Darth Vader's spirit goes. What was the other one that was really? I mean, it's got me versus the leaf blower. So it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, you see any of Winston? I got to show you.
Starting point is 01:03:31 I saw the leaf blower. Oh, it's so good. It's really good. So go and check that out. Thank you to Brett. Thank you to Winston. And thank you to you guys. As I, I'm sure that there's going to be a ton of Comic-Con
Starting point is 01:03:43 videos even coming out today. I don't even know how many videos I'm going to post today. I'm sure we're going to get a lot. So keep the updates, the subscriptions, the notifications, ready because today will probably be busy. They already showed a Game of Thrones trailer the other day, so I don't know if they're going to show another one, but Lord of the Rings.
Starting point is 01:03:58 They're probably showing an extended one there. But tomorrow is going to be the big day, and I will be doing a lot of content tomorrow. I'm going to react to any DC trailer that comes out. I'll react to any Marvel trailer that comes out, any news, big news that comes out. We'll do a video about that. And then on Sunday, you guys have voted.
Starting point is 01:04:16 I'm putting up my old one-on-one episodes on the channel on Sundays, and you guys voted for this week's episode will be Joe Manginello. That's going to be... That's a really good interview. It's actually the... I don't know if he actually says it in the interview, but it's where I got the story of, ha, milk is for babies.
Starting point is 01:04:35 Thank you to Brett. Thank you to Winston. Thank you to you guys. Make sure you subscribe to the channel, and no, there's nothing there. Perfect. All right, we'll see you on the flip side. Peace.
