How's it going, everybody? Welcome back. It is the big thing. Sean Levy is riding a high right now.
His movie's going to cross a billion dollars with Deadpool and Wolverine. He's had great success working with Ryan Reynolds.
And now, once again, working with Hugh Jackman. Of course, they worked at real steel.
And they're making a lot of cash. So not unexpectedly, there's more talk of the Star Wars conversation.
And I'm sure right now, the way it works over a Lucasfilm is that it's a hit movie.
So they want to probably push that movie forward because he's the, he's the hot director at the moment.
So that's what's always the most important.
Shouldn't be, but it usually is.
But nonetheless, they're trying to get that thing to move.
And I understand.
It makes sense.
So our buddy Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sack and Fused show, and he also just started a Clips channel, by the way,
which is doing very well.
A lot of these clips that we're going to talk about with Sean Levy is on his channel.
Well, he asked him not only about the movie itself,
which he said was going to be a standalone,
Josh asked him if he was hinting at or writing the movie specifically,
they were writing it for cast in mind,
to which he said, you're asking the right questions.
To me, that seems like we're going to see some familiar people.
Now, whether that's Ryan Reynolds or Hugh Jackman in this movie,
who knows?
And then the follow-up question to that will be,
should either one of them be near Star Wars, which we'll discuss.
There's other things, Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, decided no more after season four.
That's it.
They're wrapping it up because they're going to have the spin-off series that they're doing.
So we'll discuss that.
There's also going back and jumping back to Deadpool and Wolverine.
For those of you haven't seen it, I would pause this right now.
It's everywhere at this point.
So it's a story.
I've warned you.
There you go.
come back don't come back okay well Wesley Snipes is it being pitched now to do a
blade movie standalone Ryan Reynolds anyway is pitching it should that happen so that's some of the
stuff that's going down here today on the show and then obviously we're going to talk to you guys
if you have it's it's kind of like an impromptu show today because Mike wasn't able to be here
and Steph was supposed to be but she's going to be back next week so people asking where's
mic and stuff. They'll be back next week for sure. So if you're going to jump on, ask you guys some
questions. So anything, this is kind of like a one-on-one Q&A session with me after we get done with
the stories. So if you want to start throwing in those super chats now, I will get to them like I
do on the Monday shows of Roka at the end of each topic. We're on Apple podcast. We're on Spotify.
If you haven't subscribed to the clips channel, please do that. Just had a great interview with
Merr from Impractical Jokers. A lot of those clips will live on that channel. So you can go and
check that out. I got an interview with David Castaneda.
from Umbrella Academy.
That interview itself will drop on the Caps and Cowls episode on Friday,
and then clipouts will appear on the Clips Channel.
So there's a lot of great stuff happening right now.
I think that's the majority of what we'll discuss today,
unless there's anything else you guys want to bring up there in the topics a little later on,
but let's do it.
It's the big thing.
It's me and you guys here today.
All right, here we go and scene.
Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen.
This is the big thing.
What the hell is today?
Today is the 7th of August.
I'm excited.
I'm going to see the Christopher Reeve documentary that Warner Brothers is doing.
I'm going to see that.
I'll do it out of the theater reaction for that one.
I mean, that was obviously my Superman kind of growing up.
I think he just kind of embodied everything that was Superman to me.
And why I say when I say that Superman was my favorite of all.
time. One of the main reasons is because of Christopher Reeves. So to see his story overall,
I'm going to be excited to check that out. That'll be an out of the theater popping tomorrow.
So let's jump right into this thing, man. This is a Star Wars story. This is Sean Livy,
who as I said, crushing it right now, just crushing it. So let's discuss the first thing here.
And that, of course, is the fact that this movie is going to be a standalone piece, which I think to say right
away because I know everybody's always just talking negative about Star Wars now. It's not a good
place for me. However, I think that's a positive that Sean Libby's Star Wars is a standalone film.
So here's the article from Dark Horizons. Following his success with Marvel Studios, Deadpool Wolverine,
filmmaker Sean Levy, is now turning his attention back to Star Wars that he has in the works.
He was set to director Star Wars film in November of 22nd, one separate from the three official announced
films in the works. However, the strikes last year and his Marvel commitments had stalled the process.
things picked up steam steam again a few weeks ago banshee and warrior creator jonathan trooper came on board to pen the script for levy's film that's a good writer the pair had previously collaborated on this is where i leave you and the atom project now in a recent interview on the happy sack confused podcast levy said he aims to tackle something standalone and not from a part of the timeline that we're familiar with said there's only so many times that star wars movies can revisit the same section of the timeline i don't want to do a star wars film that is redundant to the others
nor am I interested in doing one that has to serve another movie.
The franchise has come under fire leave for being to beholden to fan service.
The recent Acculight finally gave us a story on different part of the timeline,
but it also led to a widely divisive reaction from the fan base.
All right, well, the other side of it that I want to do is I want to, before we get into this whole story here,
is this.
So let me, I'm going to show this clip that Josh has.
with Sean and give me a moment and I'll play the actual audio itself.
Oh, that's not it.
Hey, wait a minute.
That's the wrong thing.
Why did that come up?
I don't know.
Let's try that again.
Now it should work.
Boom.
Okay.
So, perfect.
All right, here we go.
This is the clip.
I want to play this clip real quick.
And again, go over to Josh's, Josh Harwood's Clips channel and subscribe over there.
He's got tons of this stuff over there.
It's really, really great.
Here it is.
Amazing.
Are you writing with...
Trump's in mind?
Oh, wow.
You're asking the right questions.
You're asking the right questions.
Sort of, yes.
People, maybe you...
Please don't ask a follow-up.
Please don't ask a follow-up.
Tell me this.
What is Star Wars to you?
Is Star Wars the Skywalker's?
Is it the Force?
Is it like, what do you love about Star Wars?
I'll say that the experience of crafting this story has forced me to think about that question
because there's only so many times that Star Wars movies can revisit the same section of the timeline.
Okay, so that's basically what we had just read.
So if you want to watch the rest of that clip, I would suggest head on and over to the Josh Harwood's clip, but Clips Channel.
So let's start with that first part.
I agree with them.
I think there's only so much,
and I think one of the intriguing things about the acolyte,
I think everybody agreed with that,
that going back in that timeline and not just being beholden to the empire
or right before the empire or right after the empire,
like it's like there's so much more.
What else is there?
And even with the new trilogy where it was 30 years later,
we're like, okay, that's great.
30 years later after what's now?
And then it just recreated the empire again.
It's like, oh, you had a shot.
You just rehashed everything.
So the question now is going to be, where is this timeline?
Is it 30 years after the new trilogy?
Is it way before?
Is it when, like, when is it, right?
So that's, that is a positive.
I think that's a, that's a big positive.
I don't know what Sean Levy's, um, attachment is to Star Wars, right?
Like, I really liked what he did with Real Steel a lot.
out of the two, when Josh asked him that question about, you know, are you writing this for actors in mind?
And he said, yes, right?
The first thought is, well, man, is Ryan Reynolds going to be in Star Wars?
And I like Ryan Reynolds a lot.
But I hope, my answer to that is I hope not.
Do I think that is, Ryan Reynolds can do drama.
Ryan Reynolds can do roles where he, you know, is,
not having to put all of the comedy in there, right?
Like he did in Deadpool.
But I don't know.
I just,
the separation of it.
Now,
Hugh Jackman,
as a wise Jedi or senator or whatever it might be,
or whatever timeline,
maybe there are no Jedi in this timeline.
I don't know.
Whatever it might be.
I could see it.
And I'd like to see it.
I think Hugh Jackman doing that would be great.
So I'd be all for Hugh Jackman, more so than Ryan Reynolds.
Now, those aren't the only two people that Sean Levy works with,
but they're the two that he's associated the most with,
Ryan Reynolds being the first.
So obviously, when that's brought up,
that's the first person you think of, right?
So that makes sense.
That makes sense.
and I'm trying to think what else when it comes to this stuff,
like what you're going to see, who you're going to see in this storyline.
What I hope you do see, what they completely have abandoned, is the freaking music.
What kind of music are we going to get in this thing?
Are we going to get music?
Let's hope we get some music.
And I'm not talking about just, well, of course, there's going to be music in a movie.
let's have let's do what Kevin Kiner does.
Hell, let Kevin Kiner score the damn thing.
Let's have a little bit of the music itself from the old school stuff,
combined with some new themes.
Don't abandon it because, oh, we want to make it separate.
That's stupid.
They don't make a Star Wars movie.
So they've been doing all the shows.
Stupid.
It should be the first no when anyone says,
if even the executive,
well, you know, we've decided this time,
like all the other times,
that we're going to go,
from John Sting and make it our own. Yes, Christian, that's stupid. Why? Because it's like not having
the James Bond theme in there. You got to have it. You got to have it. Got to have the music.
And I hope Sean Levy does that as well. I hope he does. We shall see. I don't know if that is
the case or not, but nonetheless, it's very interesting to see that it looks like they're going to push this.
Now, I guess that's the next question, right?
It's weird as it go as far as release.
Because we still, and this is, I'd love to hear what the audience is saying here.
We have potentially the Mandalorian and Grogu coming out on May of 2026.
Okay.
Then rumored is the Ray movie in December of 2026.
Then, if those two movies are successful, then one would assume that May would get another Star Wars release, potentially, this movie.
And then December would be the Flolony movie of December 2027 with Mangled's movie going into May of 2028.
Right?
Or do they do?
do. Well, let's see. Maybe because Sean Levy's movie is moving, cooking. We've got some heat
with this guy right now. We know people want to watch his movies. We've got Hugh Jackman and
wants to do it. And it's exciting. It's not going to, it's going to be an expensive movie,
but not too expensive. And it's got a lot of goodwill with the people to do Sean Levy and Hugh
Jackman. I'm just making up the Hugh Jackman part of it. But nonetheless, and they say, okay, look,
let's do this instead. Let's do Favreau's movie in May of 2026.
Sean Levy's movie in December of 2026, then put the Ray movie in May of 2027, and then
Filoni's movie in December.
That's what I'm curious about.
So I'm curious what you guys think.
Put your comments in there.
Thus far, if you want to throw any questions in there, I'll be.
taking questions Q&A at the end of the episode. If not, we're making a short episode today.
Totally, totally works. Understood. And we have other things to talk about here today on the show.
And before I do, I want to tell you guys, as I tell you always about our good friends over at both Magic Spoon, My Love, and Liquid Ivy.
Check it out. I have been getting really nice comments from people lately and noticing that I've been losing weight and that I've been in shape and doing all these things.
And one of the reasons why is because I've been eating better, but paying attention.
And one of those things I've been doing is Magic Spoon.
And so many, every time I talk about Magic Spoon, I get people right afterwards saying,
I just tried it.
And then the same person will follow up and go and I love it.
People love Magic Spoon because I loved eating cereal as a kid.
But as an adult, you can't do it because of all the sugar and most of the cereals
don't give me the protein that I need.
And I found Magic Spoon, which is really great.
And it tastes very similar to my childhood favorites,
but it doesn't have all the sugar.
And it's got a ton of protein.
And that's my snack at night.
Every serving of MagicSpoon cereal,
it's got 13 grams of protein,
zero grams of sugar and four grams of net carbs
so you can feel good about what you're eating.
So the most popular flavors are fruity and cocoa.
And there's so many more.
I do that.
I mix the cocoa and the peanut butter personally.
But they also have treats.
Magic Spoon is brand new treats.
They're crispy.
They're crunchy.
And they're an easy way to get 11,
grams of protein on the go. For the first time ever, MagicSpoon treats are available in grocery
stores with delicious flavors like marshmallow and chocolatey peanut butter. It's delicious.
My friend Dan says, you know, it's really delicious, Christian. I've got to try this Magic Spoon.

Okay, let's jump to the next story because there's a few more that I want to discuss with you guys before we get to questions.
Like I said, today will be a shorter show.
I mean, maybe, maybe not.
Right now I said there's like there's like five questions and there we'll get to those for sure.
But I want to get to, let's like three or four stories that we're going to talk to talk about.
And then we'll then we'll discuss because I'm here.
As I said, we have an interview that we're going to do a little later on today.
But I figured I'd jump on with you guys today.
And I like talking to you.
So let's do that. We'll do that in just a minute. All right, news, news, news, news on Van Nuys. Okay, here we go. This is this Blade thing.
Deadpole Wolverine star Ryan Reynolds took to X to express appreciation for Wesley Snipes take on Blade while also asking for something a lot of people would like a Logan-esque film to start off for the character.
Snipes co-starred with Reynolds in 2005's Blade Trinity in a minute. He did not think it was possible.
to reprise the character after that until Ryan Reynolds reached out.
That appearance has been such a hit that Reynolds posting credit Snipes and the character
dubbing him Marvel Daddy for paving the way for creating the Fox Marvel Universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Because of that, he believes that Marvel Studios should give Snipes a blade sendoff,
just like Hugh Jackman got in 2017 with Logan.
Comments come as the Mahershal Ali led Blade reboot at Marvel Studios has been met with multiple delays
and still has not moved toward production as the script is being worked on.
That take on Blade is still listed as having a November 2025 release.
This is a subject of easier said than done on a lot of different reasons.
What I'd love to see a Blade Wesley Snipes sendoff movie, Logan style.
Sure, sounds amazing.
In a rated R fashion and the next film, 100%.
The question is, it's Wesley Snipes going to say, well, hey, I was just in this movie that made a billion dollars.
I want a budget of $150,200 million.
I want to do the big Blade movie.
I want to be part of the MCU movie, the MCU stuff.
Or it's going to say, yeah, I just want a standalone, you know, $60 million film.
Let's do it.
Or a $60 million blade movie, if they can do like a standoff one, it makes all the sense in the world.
but they're not doing elseworld type things in the way that DC is.
They get enough on their plate right now.
So realistically, the chances of this happening are slim to none.
Because now you can end,
well, it doesn't look like the Merhaw Ali Blade film,
just make them Blade.
Maybe, maybe if, you know, you wants to do,
you could get Wesley Snipes to play Blade right now,
do one more spruce.
Spinoff movie, connect it all together, make it part of Secret Wars and all that.
And there you go.
That will happen faster than the Mahershali one, not that Mahershali is, there's been no reports that he's been hard to deal with.
It's been the exact opposite.
He's like, come on, let's make this thing.
And everybody else has fallen apart.
I think, and I've said this many times over, I think you cannot let Mahershaw Lee go from Marvel, but maybe not doing Blade.
now because maybe he doesn't want to do it and maybe it's like okay give him a give him a juicier
roll have him do it something else what's juicier than blade i don't know um but also when you have
that doesn't necessarily mean we'll give it to get give me herschallie something better than
give this to give this to uh to wesley snipes it wasley snipes might it might not work out
either and blade is not in the cards for now and they went up getting the younger actor to do it
in like three or four years from now they didn't announce it at a comic con
they didn't talk about it at a Comic-Con,
because then I think which was a smart move,
because it's clearly there's just,
it's just not working as far as the,
everything trying to put it together and where it fits in and all that.
So I think the approach of,
hey, well, you know, mentioning, well,
Logan got, Fox was able to do that.
Fox had nothing to lose.
Fox didn't have a timeline and all these different things that they are putting together.
or I wouldn't necessarily even say that Marvel isn't anything to lose by doing it, but minus
like time and directors and then where do you put it out and how it presents itself.
So I don't know.
I mean, you could put it, you could, to me, it's just a matter of where does it fit?
Because that's the problem that Marvel finds himself in because it has to be asked,
where does it fit into the MCU timeline?
Well, why does it have to?
Because that's the way they've set it up.
They've set it up that way.
Well, it shouldn't.
It doesn't matter if it should.
That's the way they set it up.
They set it up that way,
and that's why I think that what DC did was very smart.
We have this thing that's going to tie into our timeline,
and then we're going to have projects that don't.
The Joker and Batman and the Penguin,
and all these things that we're setting off towards the side.
It's just stuff that, you know,
it's like little side things that we can do,
because we know that they do that now.
Now, is that going to be confusing to the general audience?
Maybe, but it's one of those things that we understand that they do that.
Marvel doesn't do that.
MCU Marvel Studios doesn't do that.
Well, they could, but they don't.
And you want to take up another project right now?
When we still don't know, right now, we've got Captain America, which needs to do well,
Thunderbolts needs to do well, Fantastic Four will do well and needs to do well.
Then it leads into the two Avengers movies.
The two Avengers movies are going to do Gangbusters box office.
And yes, even though I think that I'm more on the side of.
you guys who say, I don't know about this Downey is Doom thing, it's also going to bring a lot of
people into the theater. That's not, that has, all the criticisms that you can have about that,
one of them cannot be, well, it's going to cost you dollars. People aren't going to see it. Not true.
Not true. People are going to want to see what Downey's going to do. Now, it might cost you
dollars in the second movie. If the first one doesn't deliver you, like, he's too Tony Stark. The movie
doesn't work, it's just not good, I don't care about the story, then that could hurt the second one.
But people are going into that first movie. So Marvel has all this stuff right now that they're like,
boom, boom, boom, boom. We have a plan. We got to stick to it. Throwing in a Wesley Stamps Blade movie right now,
not in the cards. But what do you guys think? You think that I'm off the mark? You think that they should do
one? Put your comments in there. Tell me what you think. I see the super chats are coming in.
And as I mentioned, I will get to each and every one of them when I,
I finish the last stories, which will probably be pretty soon because I'm going to do,
I'll do a few, I think I'll do two more stories that I have here and then we'll get to your
questions. But let's see. The, we, Blade, and I'm very curious to see what everybody thinks
about that, by the way, if you think that Blade should be a Wesley Snacks movie, if I'm,
if I'm wrong, and it should be a standalone movie, they can do it. So put those in there. Let me
see. House of the Dragon. No, no, I'm not going to spoil House of the Dragon for you,
because A, it's too fresh, just happened on Sunday.
B, haven't seen it.
That's why I haven't done my immediate reaction
and all that stuff.
I haven't seen it yet.
And I want to see it.
I'm very curious to see it.
But House of the Dragon, season four,
is going to be the last of the House of the Dragon.
That's it.
We're finishing it up.
So this is the report, again, reading it over from Dark Horizons,
addressing fans who feel shortchanged by the,
uh-oh,
I hope we're going to get probably a spoiler here.
The second season finale of House of the Dragon,
series co-creator and showrunner Ryan Connell confirms the show is aiming to end with its fourth season.
In a press conference for the series following the finale,
Condal also confirmed that the third season isn't expected to premiere in 2026
and isn't expected to premiere in?
Is expected. Excuse me.
Let me read that again.
In a press conference for the series following that finale on Sunday,
Condal also confirmed that the third season is expected to premiere in 2026
and aims to begin production early 2025.
That season will consist of eight episodes like this one.
He says, I haven't had discussions with HBO about it.
I would just anticipate the cadence of the show from dramatic storytelling perspective
will continue to be the same from season two on.
Responding to complaints about the decision.
Oh, I don't want to read that.
I don't know.
I read that.
So there's more stuff that he talks about, but apparently it's going to be a spoiler.
And I don't want a spoiler, as I said.
But let's discuss the fact that A, this is things coming out in 2026.
I mean, that makes sense.
It's two years and it's a lengthy show to do.
And an ending on four.
Now, as I mentioned, I haven't seen the season finale.
So I can't really criticize it and say that nothing happened or all that because I haven't seen it.
So I can't disagree with you or tell you you're crazy or tell you.
I don't know.
I like to build up because it wouldn't, I don't know.
But I'm seeing a lot of that.
I'm seeing a lot of that.
But leading to season three, season three will really have to deliver, I'm sure.
They're going to see the criticisms on it.
I don't like the eight episode thing now that they jumped down.
For some reason, HBO now is making them do eight episodes instead of 10.
Yeah, stupid.
Oh.
And I don't think that's a, that's an HBO move.
I think that's a Zoloft move.
But nonetheless, eight episodes, there you go.
And they'll do eight more episodes.
The question is then with 2026, and they know they're doing a fourth.
So it was at 2028?
It's probably when the season, the series will end.
And then they have the prequel series that'll also be,
I would assume that this prequel series,
I think that that's what people are going to,
oh man,
I got to wait.
But I think you're getting another prequel series in 2025.
So you're going to have House,
you're going to have Game of Thrones in 2025 and 26.
And then they're probably kind of bounce back and forth,
I would assume.
I would assume that if the prequel series,
that they're,
or not it's not a prequel series.
I guess it takes place 100 years after House of the Dragon.
which i wonder if that's going to get confusing i wonder if they should have waited to
well i just can't wait to rap because when are you going to air that show in 2028
so that's interesting that's interesting so it looks like you're going to have game of
thrones every year for if this if this other series is successful um if they have because
if you've got 2025 when the new series debuts
And then they stick to the two years.
You're going to have one every year.
You'll have it.
You'll have this one.
Then you'll bounce back and forth.
And the questions are they going to,
you know that we're all going to compare them,
which one's better?
Who's working?
Who's not working?
Do we need this?
Does it seem like it's the same?
This is great.
We have them both at the same time.
Oh, my God.
Are they going to combine it all with some of the Lord?
Does it connect it all?
It'll all come out.
That's the part of it.
So what do you guys think?
Put your thoughts in there.
Tell me.
I want to hear.
I'm trying to think if there's anything else news-wise we should talk about before we move on to,
hey, who's that?
Stop that.
Stop that.
Let me write that.
Okay, perfect.
Now, I almost wrote pig.
Someone asked me if I had a dog.
And I said, no.
I said, yes.
I said a pug.
I almost wrote pig.
I guess it's the same thing.
He's a little pig.
A little fat ass.
I love him.
He's a little fat ass.
I love that little fat ass dog.
Anyway,
what else?
Any other stories that we're talking about here that we should discuss?
Anything big coming out?
Oh,
there's a first look at the photos of Saturday night.
Should we show you that one?
We talked about that the other day.
I'll show you that.
And then you guys can see how the,
we'll take this off right here.
Put that bad boy in there.
Is that it?
Is that the Saturday night photo?
There it is.
Okay, let's see right here.
Oh, wow, Belushi's pretty good.
That Belushi is real good.
Let's do this.
Do that.
And then let's see.
So we got everybody here.
Hold on, hold on.
Okay.
So that's Chevy Chase, obviously.
That's good.
Good Chevy Chase.
Gilderatner in the back.
Belushi looking great, acroid.
And then who's the woman supposed to be?
Is that Newman?
Oh, it was supposed to be Allie.
or Kate Nelly, I would say,
the Jane, that makes it.
That looks pretty good.
That's a good look.
Belushi, who's playing Belushi?
That looks great.
That's a great first look.
Chevy Chase.
Yeah, the first official photos are out from Jason Reitman's
Saturday Night Live launch night project Saturday Night,
which will hit cinemas on October 11th.
Wrightman directs from a script co-written with Gil Kennan
and based on a true story.
The real-time film follows the behind the scenes in 90 minutes
leading up to the first broadcast of Saturday Night Live.
Vanity Fair published the photos and Reitman says it's not about the key cast but rather the whole production.
It is not only about the first seven actors, but the writers, the art department, and everybody who came together in the last second to change television.
What was so unusual about this show was not only that it was live, but the format was unlike anything everyone had never seen before.
The pack cast, many of which can be seen in the photos, includes Gabriel LeBelle, who plays Lauren Michaels.
Dan Aykroyd, that's Dylan O'Brien in the, as Dan Aykroyd right there?
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I see it.
see it all right uh corey michael smith is chevy chase rachel senate is rosy schuster lamor le morris le morris is garrett morris
nicholas brawn is jim henson and andy coffman john batis billy preston ella hunt gilder radner
guper hoffman dick ebberson andrew barth feldman neil levy nomi mcpherson janice ehanes i willam defoe
david david david dabbard jenns milton burle kher jaclin carlin oh interesting and matthew reese
George Carlin, among others.
I didn't realize that Matthew Reese was playing,
was playing George Carlin.
That is, oh, that's the whole, this is the whole thing.
Let me see, I'll put this picture up here too.
Matthew, let me see who Matt.
I don't remember, I know that Matthew Reese,
let me see who is who I think it is.
Matthew Reese is playing George Carlin, the guy from the Americans.
That's an undertaking, man.
I always wanted to see a George Carlin bio.
He's my, that's my guy.
So let's see what we got here.
This is the picture.
Sorry, give me a second as I put this in there.
But someone just said, that's what she said.
Stop that.
All right.
So he said.
This is, okay, let's see everybody in here.
That's a big, let's, okay, so that clearly looks like they're going to show a little bit of the freaking,
unless that's a scene.
No, it looks like everybody's freaking out blue.
She's losing it.
And that's Gilda Radner.
I don't see Carlin.
in there, but that's, I'm excited for this film because look, I'm a big Saturday
alive guy. So I wonder if it's just me getting excited for this. Are you guys excited for this movie or
you don't give a shit? Very curious. Very curious. So you hear what you guys think about this.
Put your comments in there. Tell me what you think. Yeah, it's just some of the cast, not all the cast.
All right, we'll get to your questions now. And before I do, real quick, I want to tell you about
AG1 and built. Now we'll get right into it.
Let's do it.

And I got to tell you about AG1. You guys know AG1. I mean, if you've been listening to this show long enough,
you know that I love AG1. And people keep asking me, they notice. John even said when I started,
is I look, new look, 20 pounds I lost. One of those reasons, AG1 became part of my routine.
Because for a long time, I wasn't paying attention what was going on in my body.
It just wasn't.
For me, I read labels.
I verify that everything is up to the quality I need.
And that is why I've stayed with AG1 for as long as I have.
It is a research-backed foundational nutrition supplement.
And it delivers daily nutrients, gut health support,
and it's backed by multiple research studies so you can trust what you're putting into your body.

Because after drinking AG1, I have realized that I have all this energy and I need less coffee to power my day.
It turns out I'm not alone because in a research study, 91% of people noticed they needed less coffee after 60 days of drinking AG1.
97% of people in a research study felt more energy after 30 days of drinking AG1.
That's crazy.
91% of participants notice that they need less coffee.
after 60 days of drinking AG1.
That's me.
Energy is a majorly important reason why it comes to,

I mean, ideally you get yourself something.
You help out the show.
But if not, just clicking that.
link helps. It's in the description.

Okay. So what we're going to do is we're going to take all the questions.
It's about 10 today. Hey, it is what it is.
And we'll get some good questions here.
So let's do it.
Let's ask some questions.
And then whatever you guys want to talk about, we'll stay here until we leave.
First one, Pete Parker, Reeve is a great Superman, but man, those movies are dated.
The third and fourth movies are so bad.
Not going to disagree with you on the third and the fourth.
I think there's some camp and stuff in the first and second one, but I think that they work pretty well.
The Donner cuts are a little more serious.
The second one's a little more serious for sure.
But I think the, you can, I understand a little bit of the argument with that it's going to be a little dated, but I don't think it's ultimately dated until you can't enjoy them.
I love, I love those movies.
One and two is still some of my favorite comic book movies of all time.
Three and four, three is enjoyable, but it is absolutely a mess, for sure, four stings.
Dennis Hoffman, I love Levy.
Enjoyed Deadpool and Wolverine, but more free guy versus Marvel stuff.
Yeah, you know, I am concerned as I always am with a lot of things.
I know sometimes you guys give me shit about it,
but when it comes to the comedy,
there's certain comedy that works in Star Wars.
There's certain comedy that doesn't.
There's times when they put comedy in there
that it's like, well, that doesn't fit like,
like this comedy, and I always bring up this example.
To me, the perfect Star Wars humor was in the Mandalorian season one,
when Dennis sitting there with the javas
and they make fun of the way he speaks Jawa,
and he says, oh, yeah, and he tries to light him on fire.
not telling a joke. He's not he's going to go, now you're up in flames. He's not doing that.
He's just, it's a funny moment. He gets pissed off. He tries to light him on fire and they're
busting his balls. Like real moments that happen and not just trying to like yuck yucks, you know,
there's too many yuck yucks happening in a lot of these different things, but some have set
tones. Star Wars doesn't need the yuck yucks. There's when when it's working, it's working.
So there's always, and even when there's somebody who is, you know, if you have a scoundrel type character, he doesn't need to be a stand-up comedian.
He can just be kind of a pompous.
He can have a couple one-liners that fits in together in the same way that Hans Solo says he picks up the thing is, I'm fine.
How are you?
And then shoots the thing.
It's a funny moment.
He's not trying to make you laugh.
It's just what he does.
That's the type of stuff.
And I don't know if Sean Levy's going to be able to do that in the same way that.
you know, I'm very curious about Superman with James Gunn.
Who's the, you know there's someone in James Gunn's movie that's going to be the yuck,
yuck, yuck guy. Is it going to be Jimmy Olson?
Somebody's going to be the yuck, yuck, guy. Is it going to be, um, what's his face
from Saturday Night Live? Beck, Bennett. Um, someone's going to be a yuck,
yeah guy. There's always a yuck, yet guy. But there's more in the DC comic book world that say,
okay, a couple of jokes here and there will be fine. I just think a lot of these things should follow
that rule of like make their situation right doesn't always have to be there's only have to be a
one-liner in the middle of a big battle scene um i know that's what deadpool does that's what he does
and so that's that fits the character it's what he does but i'm curious to see what i hope what i'm
hoping with in the way that sean levy did real steel right i love that real steel movie that movie
shouldn't have been as good as it was got it had heart to it there's some jokes in it but it's it's
real the real moments i i would like him to do a star wars movie
with that real steel tone the way you film that stuff then to me that's great and i again would
much rather see hugh jackman in a in a star wars movie i'm gonna choose out of the two of them
r t d slayer hugh should definitely play a villain if so he'd be very compelling playing the bad
guy i agree he's done it before and he's and he's good at it he's real good at it he's um
and you know what i watched recently again that there was such a good movie was prestige
such a good movie um underrated movie and he does a lot of complex stuff in that
one. There's a lot of complex stuff
in that one. You don't know who to root for in that movie
for quite a while. So
that's a great performance by him
and in general. So I'd love to
see Hugh Jackman move into
some Star Wars stuff, especially if Sean Levy's
doing it. Why not?
Pete Parker, will you be discussing the new Batman
animated show this week with Coyne Winston? I feel
like no one is talking about it. I feel like
the guys have watched it. I know
that Roka has seen it and he talked about it.
I think you watched seven episodes. We talked about it on
Monday, but you're talking about a little
more in depth, maybe I'll ask them.
So the way we're going to work it on, Friday's going to be a pretty supersized episode
of Caps and Cows, because we're going to do our normal show, but I'm also going to air
the David Castaneda interview from the umbrella academy.
But Coy is going to be heading to D23 to cover the panels for us.
And what we're probably going to wind up doing is we're going to get him in the car on the
way up.
And then he's going to send me videos doing like immediate reactions for the news that he had.
We're going to try to upload them directly to the channel.
That's the goal.
I'm hoping.
So be on the lookout for that.
So with new Batman animated show, we're going to try to talk about,
I'll see if the guys have watched it.
If they had them, we'll discuss it.
Maybe I'll try to watch one or two before Friday.
Okay.
Johnny Venerable.
I feel like it was a missed opportunity to kill off Cadbane in the book of Boba Fett.
Uh, would you be opposed to him somehow coming back in the Manda movie?
No, because I think that they did something where it looked like he was still survived.
So I don't think they necessarily did.
I think they kind of kept it open ended on how they did it.
So no, I would not be opposed for him coming back in the Mando movie.
I would, I'd actually, whether it's the Mando movie or Filoni's movie or everything,
I think that they're aiming for like that big kind of Avengers movie for that thing.
I just, the thing that I don't think that they, maybe they don't, maybe they don't realize it.
But I think if they think that this whole, this whole, you know, Mandoverse has been a success, then they're in for a rude awakening because there's a lot of stuff that like nobody really cares about Boba Fed.
They don't really, that show.
They don't really talks about that one for sure.
I don't know how Skeleton crew is going to play.
Asook is okay.
Most, some people love it.
Some people think it's okay.
Some people just forget that it existed.
Mandelaerian season one and two are phenomenal.
Three was not great.
And then there is a what else is there as far as that universe goes.
So it's not in this big high that if they would have made this movie like Rafter 1 and 2 of Mandalorian, then, you know, they could have said,
we're going to do this big epic thing.
There's a movie of these characters that came in and it's going to be huge.
Now they got to, they got to win back.
The Asoka Season 2 needs to be good.
And it needs to be more exciting than that last season.
And it needs to be better written.
That was the biggest problem with that series.
It's just go back and watch it.
It's just so poorly written.
But if they do that, they make that one better and they can bring in a Cad Bain to do this whole big epic thing at the end.
I mean, I'd be down for it for sure.
We'll see.
Next one.
K-Musick.
Thank you, K-Musick, very kind.
Star Wars is already getting too close to MCU territory.
It should take itself somewhat seriously and rely on compelling stories over a cameo bait and meta references.
Don't think Deadpool Wolverine Free Guide type.
would work. Hopefully, he agrees. I hope leave you agrees also. So I've been saying,
thank you again, K-music. But yes, I agree. I think that you have to do an episode, or a movie,
rather, in more of that real steel vein than a goofy Star Wars movie. Because, you know,
Marvel was in this thing where, hey, everything's hitting right now. We're going to try this.
This Guardians of Galaxy. I mean, knows what it is? No, we'll put some kind of fun humor,
this kind of band of misfits and put them all together. The comic book fans.
will know what this is, but most people won't know, but we're hitting everything right now.
Let's do it.
And it worked.
They want to do the thing about the Ant Man?
Yeah, it's working.
Let's do it.
Put some Polaroid in there, throw some comedy in there.
All right.
And they just,
and they were able to do that.
Star Wars can't do that right now.
Star Wars needs to hit.
Star Wars needs to hit.
But as I said, and someone, and I was talking to someone,
I won't mention, because I don't know if they want to be mentioned,
but someone who's a really big Star Wars person.
And it's just so frustrated with all of us.
It's frustrated.
Isn't as vocal right now and understandably,
but just so frustrated with the way that the whole thing is working
and disappointed in all of that.
And it's like,
it's like,
as I mentioned,
if you're a sports fan,
that it's like when your team has a bad manager,
and it's just they're not using the line up the right way.
That was my favorite comment I got recently,
by the way.
No one likes when you do the sports references.
Don't do them.
And I said,
let me rewrite that.
comment for you. I don't necessarily relate to when you do sports references. It usually goes
over my head. So I don't get it when you do it. I say, okay, that's cool. Thank you so much for
putting it in there. But I like to do it because it's things that I relate to and some of the audience
does relate to it. No one likes it. You talk to everyone. You talk to every single person that's in here.
It's like, stop that. You just stop it. You know, it's like, stop it. Now, here's the next one.
R.T.D. Slayer again. Also another thing. This is a hot take. I think any Star Wars movie outside of the episodic ones will have to set itself apart if they want to make money. I don't know how hot of a take that is. I think that's common sense. Right. Yeah. Any Star Wars, you got to set itself apart. And I think when you do a movie, that TV show like Ackleit, you have a chance to, if you put Karen Moss in it, you advertise it like she's going to be in it two seconds. But they didn't try to rely on star power or anything. They just tried to rely off to say it's a Star Wars show.
it's set in a different time period, take a look.
Okay, fine.
Regardless of what you thought about the show,
they didn't, they're not trying to get you to,
if you have Disney Plus,
you want you to watch it,
but they're not getting you to spend money to get into the theater.
When you're doing that and you're doing it outside of the Star Wars era,
then you're probably going to have to put a movie star in it.
You're probably going to definitely have to put somebody that people recognize.
So as Sean Levy's movie,
which is, who knows, same thing with the Mangold movie.
James Mangold's film,
Now, this would be interesting, by the way.
This would be interesting.
If Mangold and Sean Levy have discussions and say, hey, let's write our movies in the same time period.
Well, both Hughes, Hugh, and that way, he's in this one.
It ties into ours.
And we're starting a new time period.
So we, I know.
So he collaborates with James and says, all right, James, listen, you're doing this when the start of this, all this stuff happens.
Great.
can I do mine 100 years afterwards or rather 20 years afterwards or 10 years afterwards?
How does it end with with Hugh's character?
How does this happen?
Oh, it does?
Okay, great.
I'll take those notes.
Now, will that happen?
Probably not, but you could see that they could collaborate because of the relationship they
both have with Hugh Jackman.
I'm writing this as if Hugh Jackman is in Star Wars and in no world did he say that.
He could very well be talking about Hugh Jackman.
He could very well be talking about Daphne Keene.
He'd be talking about anybody.
You can't be talking about anybody right now.
I'm just, I'm just speculating of what I want to say.
But no, it absolutely has to establish itself as something different.
Because, you know, you want, and you root for that, right?
You root for them to be able to set that up outside.
You want, who didn't want the act like to be great?
I mean, of course, if people just wanted to hate it, they hate it,
but who didn't want that time period to be amazing?
The idea in the same way, they, they, I think that they misled the audience,
the same way that Boba Fett misled the audience.
Boba Fett misled the audience by saying weird and every time Favro talk,
this is the godfather of Star Wars.
This is a gangster show.
It was the farthest thing from a gangster show.
Farthest thing from it.
I mean, the way that they ended Mandalorian season two with him blasting Bibb Fortuna off
the throne, you're going to see this?
And you never saw that.
And Ackley did the same thing.
This is going to be a Sith-led detective kind of story.
the bad guys are going to be the main people.
Don't give me the argument.
Well, they were.
If you look at the finale, they were.
Come on.
Come on.
You lie into yourself.
Here is the next one.
Armada.
Do you think there will be a lot of announcements for D23 this weekend, expectations?
Hmm.
You might get, to be honest, I think with Star Wars,
I think you don't make any big announcements.
I think, I mean, unless you're going to say, you know,
I can't remember who said this,
but unless you're going to announce Sean Levy's movie of when it's coming out now,
he's talking about a little bit more and you've had the meetings.
And now,
this is like I said in the beginning of the intro,
it is Kathleen Kennedy's MO.
Well,
look, made a billion dollars.
Let's get his movie out immediately.
And then,
you know,
it'll be two years.
They'll be arguing and then it'll be off the project.
But if not,
if you can actually get it to happen,
you announce it.
And who knows,
maybe that announcement happens,
potentially for as far as Star Wars,
goes i don't think they should announce any more shows from what i hear they're not going to announce
any more shows um maybe they announce when the movies are coming out maybe a few animated things
projects that's probably it i would assume marvel is not going to do any film stuff they did all that
film stuff at comic on they probably should i think it's going to be pretty heavy on the tv stuff
you probably get the most juice out of uh deer devil and you probably maybe see a little what they
what they showed what they've shot of Daredevil less far.
I think that'll be kind of the big buzz.
Maybe get a little teaser that will get released for Daredevil.
Agatha will have a heavy presence because it's coming out soon.
And then Marvel will probably announce what their plans are with their shows.
What's the other one that they have?
Wonderfarts, whatever the, I don't know,
whatever the guy's name is.
It's another one that they have, I don't know, fuck the guy is,
but he's got something coming out.
There'll be other things.
So I think it'll be heavy on TV.
Julius Wyatt will you post old Schmo's reviews hot pursues my favorite I have posted a bunch they're on the Schmodeown channel
I just you know it's a matter of getting back in there and and making them all public
I've to be completely honest have neglected that channel since we put we put the we put all the entire entire entire library of Schmodeown up there
and that's it I've tried everything I've tried everything to try to get the algorithm to pay attention to that channel and it is it's filled miserably
So I could put the old reviews up there again when I get to it.
Well, but right now, I just got to get to it.
It might be up there, but Hot Pursuit, just remind, remind PLD, if you can, on Twitter,
and I'll try to make that public.
Alex Trane.
Hey, Christian, did you see the newest trailer for The Penguin?
Not that I wasn't really sold, but damn, that show looks phenomenal.
No, and I'll tell you why.
I missed the trailer for it when it dropped, when a Comic-Con is the one I'm assuming
you're talking about and i was like oh should i react to it and i was like no i'm not going to so i'm not
going to i'm not going to watch it now i said the same thing about Deadpool and then the
deadpool trailer hit and i watched it so hopefully there's no more trailers that i don't want to i don't
want to react to it because i don't want to see anymore i'm in i'm on board it's one of my highly
anticipated between that and the joker i those didn't come out around the same time
we're going to have a solid end of the year whether it's beetle juice part two
you got alien romulus coming up you got um you got well skeleton crew on
I'm definitely curious about the penguin, uh, Joker. That's that's, that's a,
there's quite a few out there that I'm thinking about. But that's,
that's an interesting just those. And I'm sure you guys have put in the comments other
things that I'm missing out. But there's a lot of other things that are coming out at the end
of the year that I'm pretty pumped about. Uh, okay. RDD Slayer in my last chat about being
different in order to be good in the sense of having an overarching story and connecting
overall universe. Yeah, and that's kind of why I brought up the mangled thing, right? Like if
they could collaborate together and start to build a new sect of time that we want to be in
because I feel like they're like, oh, this is what everybody knows.
So we got to put it in this time period.
The empire, this, that, this, that.
And it's like, it's getting old.
And you know what's fair, not fair about that.
It's not getting old because, oh, we've seen this million times.
Stuff hasn't been good.
It hasn't been good.
If you would, you could have said that, you know, look at House of the Dragon is doing.
Now, granted, different parts of time.
They went 200 years back.
Now they're going to go 100 years back.
Then you get into House of the Dragon.
And then you hope they do years after the last season, House of the Dragon.
They're doing things in the right time period and putting it all together.
And I hope that Star Wars does that.
I don't know.
We'll see.
John Bravina, any plans of coming down to Texas in the near future?
I'm not going to tell you no.
I did that show.
with Dan Merle in New York, which is a lot of fun.
And we've talked about doing other places.
Texas isn't too far, I don't think, from him, closer I think.
So that'd be something I'd be up to.
I'd love to doing a show with Dan.
I'd like to do it again.
I think we're going to do another New York one for sure.
So, yeah, I don't know the answer to it yet.
I don't know the answer yet.
Okay, next question.
Johnny Venerable.
Skeleton crew looks rough based on the photos.
Why kids diluting the brand with CW Nickelodeon vibes?
Why are they so dead set to pivot from the OT tone?
Fair question.
My only hope for this one, well, I shouldn't say only hope.
I'm going to throw positives.
Contrary to the belief, I'm going to throw some positives regarding Star Wars when it comes to this show.
I'm going to give you John Watts and I'm going to say, look, look what he did with the old man and that first episode.
And he directed stuff and he put his mind to it really and he's excited about it.
it. So that's a positive. Jude Law, positive, Favreau producing, positive. All those are positives.
Positive and potentially a negative going after the amblin tone. Positive is that if you can capture
that and you can actually make it work and care about the stories and the characters and the kids
in the same way that if I told you, hey, we're going to do a show on Netflix about these kids who
run into this girl, she's got superpowers, and they have to go to this place called the upside down,
and they've got to do, and it's all these kids together, and they're Dungeons and Dragons fans,
and they, and they just goof around. It takes place in the 80s. You'd be like, that sounds,
that sounds like, I don't know if it's going to be for me. And Stranger Things is one of the
most popular shows on television. Granted, the show is way darker than what this will be,
but I want to give it a shot on the first episode on The Tone. Now, you
you can't judge it on the pictures.
You can't because you don't know how it's filmed.
You don't know the music.
You don't know all of this.
You don't know.
If it turns out,
you turn it on,
you're like,
oh, this looks like something that like my 10 year old,
or I have a 12 year old,
but I don't know why,
let's say you have a 10 year old.
My 10 year old will watch.
It's not for me.
Eh,
that's not going to be great.
But if they feel like,
hey,
this is the story that's really going to get you going,
and it's going to feel like that original trilogy feel,
then maybe we get surprised.
but why are they so dead set and pivot away from the OT tone?
I don't know.
I don't know.
I feel like the Favreau movie is going to be the first one to recapture that on film.
I'm hoping.
But it does seem like they want it's just this version of Star Wars is not for me.
It's not for me what they've been doing.
Now, I hope Skeleton turns it around, but it's not for me so far.
um Alex tournay over under the New York Giants gets seven wins over
always over over even if even if they were dead set on being defeated for the whole year
I still say over that boy 22 Lucasfilm needs to recapture what made Mando seasons one and
two so great that's what I think is the closest thing to feel at the Oji trilogy agreed now I wonder
this is not factual this is just what I heard and I wonder how true it is
is i don't know it could very well be false i heard is that you know one and two was kind of like an
experiment and that you're like go ahead john you're trusted enough dave do your thing go make a show
and hopefully it does well and we won't get involved and then it became a big hit after two seasons
and then too many cooks got involved in the kitchen that's and then and also the other thing is
plus now you do this and you do this and i don't give a crap what anybody says i i was was was
was nowhere to be found for um for mandolian season three because i don't even think that fabro even
basically direct anything it was like it was a good i maybe he did i don't know but it was it seemed
like they weren't as involved in one and two i think fabro was but phelony doesn't seem like he's
that involved and you know i don't need like when phelonie is doing the actual story and helping
with story that's when he's at his best he understands it it's just when he's getting into the
writing of certain scripts and being too locked into what George would have done and the overall
tone.
You have to follow the essence of George Lucas Star Wars.
Of course you do.
But the way he filmed stuff and the way he did things and the way he worked with actors and
the way he shot scripts and you don't have to follow that.
Armada.
Any interest in Time Band, it's Apple TV show.
I just started watching it.
We were looking for something to watch.
with the family. So my wife starts browsing around. She's,
what about this? I say, let's give a shot. It was pretty
funny. I was watching the first episode. It's
pretty funny. We turned it off because
it was over my six-year-old's head.
She wasn't getting the jokes.
The three of us, my 12-year-old,
myself and my wife were laughing a lot,
a lot. But it
was over my little one's head,
so we just stopped watching it. But it was
good for what I saw.
Mike Joyce, did you watch Hard Knocks with the Bears last night? I did not.
Last night, what did I watch last night?
What did I do less?
I watched COBRA Kai.
Oh,
I watched Cobur Kai season six.
I watched two episodes with my daughter.
And I like it thus far.
I like it thus far.
Yeah,
I like the,
it's,
you know,
it's on par with the other stuff that's,
that's happened.
Armada,
when do you think we'll get another Creed Rocky?
With Rocky,
Michael B.
Jordan and Sylvester Stallone
will have to go to dinner
and hash it out.
And then because they got to find a way
around the Winkler side of it,
because that's, um, that's the, that's the big problem that the beef between there's really no
beef between Michael B Jordan and Stallone, but they got to figure it out. Um, and I don't know if they
will. I'm not sure if they will. I'd love to see it. They were supposed to be a Creed series with
his daughter. I don't know if that's still happening. Um, not sure. Okay. Well,
I think that's it. Guys, I think that's all the questions that have come in today. Um,
so I appreciate you very much so. As always.
we are here every day.
Tomorrow's going to be a good one.
Because not only we're going to do our normal show with,
well, tomorrow will be myself and Roxy,
but we're having Nestor Carbonell on the show from, of course,
Dark Night, lost, and most recently,
Emmy nomination for Shogun.
He's going to be on the show.

and we're going to have David Castanadon from Umbrella Academy.
