It's like Batman meets Superman meets the breakfast club. It's got a lot of a lot of hype behind it. And then, Maisie Williams has been doing press for practical magic too. And of course,

people are going to ask her about Game of Thrones and they talk to her about the Arias Stark thing. So we'll discuss that with her. There's a little news on Legend of Zelda and a couple other things. Obviously, that's not how it is when you're watching something on Bravo and stuff like that. but I just reminded it was a nice little I always like to kind of keep my keep my skill sharp so I had a lot of fun it was it was great and people really dug it

and so that's kind of one of the things that is offered on that tier as well as shrewdown stuff and we've talked about that in the past we'll talk about it again I think that's relevant for what we're about to talk about in a second but if you didn't know if we fund this thing in day one 16 person tournament coming back if we funded in not one days, but one day, but two days, we'll get an eight person. And if not, on the first two, we'll do it in three, we'll do a live one with two matches. But if we don't do it in those three days, but we do it in general, there will be some kind of schmodel. Today was the finals between Ellis and Roka that just went up this morning. And there's a lot of characters that you just haven't met. A lot of people are saying they found Schmo down for the, first time. Well, I knew this guy before I knew Smets. I knew this guy before I knew, I'm trying to think of I knew him before Roca. No, I knew Roca first. New him before Sheridan. Knew him before Ellis.

And I did a short film at the New York Film Academy. I still haven't put in this channel. I probably should. It was called Burke. And I found a character there that I became lifelong friends with and we share the same sense of humor and he became one of the best managers in the business and that of course is john kaiser there he is can you hear us not really it's a you sound like you're a trash can somewhere next to looking for dangnino he's frozen too now he's frozen it's just a disaster um but we'll see we'll see does he still have the pig? The next thing I know is text messages,

he's telling me we're back. I'm like, first of all, Christian doesn't want to come back. Why would he want to have to deal with all those self-important fucking nerds again? You are free and clear of these people. Why would you ever come back? One, I think, well, there's a lot of reasons.

One, the tournament itself is not a full season. And to produce a full tournament, a 16-person tournament, I asked myself, could I get excited about that? And I didn't even think, I automatically said yes to a 16-person tournament. I didn't think about it. Now, I then followed up and said, could I do a season to which then followed up with a big fuck, no? But an actual tournament could be really fun. And another reason is, as I was saying to you, so, and you know these shows, Kaiser.

So you know, Last Chance You, Chef's Table, you know, welcome to Rexum. You're familiar. I love all those except the one I never heard of. So Boardwalk Pictures has done all of those. And Boardwalk Pitcher is the guy who started that whole entire company is Andrew Fried. And he's going to be both directing and producing this show. So he also happens to be a big Schmowdown fan as well. And it's one of the things where if we really,

overshoot our goal, we can put a little juice into the Shmodeown tournament. I think what I'd love to do is put together a 16-person tournament, shoot it over the course of two or three days, right? Get to the finals, figure out what the finals is, and then map out a live event and do like, you know, an undercard with potentially it's, maybe it's in, you know, Smets. Sorry, I'm studying. So the overall ideas eventually be able to put everybody in roles for a series. It's just we got to try to,

it was this Martini and I are unknown. We got a cast with people who are known around us. We have another kind of big announcement coming pretty soon that I'm pretty pumped to be able to. I just don't know when I can do it. I'm getting on a phone call with the team today to find out when I can make that announcement. So the script has been developed a bit and changed from what I read. A little bit. A little bit. But the sleazy character you want to play still exists.

Yeah, he does. He's his stuff. He's a big, he's a big deal. And actually, the thought of you were, I was writing the character, for sure, there's no doubt about it. But it's just a matter of, you know, there's, it's a juicy role now. You know, so it's like one of those things around. You need a real actor. You're a real actor.

But I just need someone. It's just got to be someone that you can, you know, when you got me and Martini, he's got to put someone who, oh, and so-and-so is in it as this role. And it's like a day shoot. You understand. I know you understand. But writing is something I definitely would. I mean, you're like you're really, really good.

He'd be good in the writer's room for you. Kaiser has a script that he wrote that. I'm not going to give, I'm not going to give anything away about it. But it was, give it away. We're trying to sell the son of a bitch. Well, it's awesome.

Like I was, and I was part of it for a bit trying to kind of help it. I just, my schedule was so crazy. It was in the middle of my move. But like I liked it so much. I got it to, um, I tried to get it to, Um, the Cobra Chi guys and well, I should say that and I remember I told you,

we got it to Paul Walter Hauser. Did he, oh yeah, you told me you were going to, you know, it might be, oh, he read it. Oh, good. Did you like it? Love it. Okay, good. You know, I'm actually, that's good that you told me that because I literally

texted him yesterday and he's coming into town to New York soon for Resident Evil and I'm supposed to interview him. And I'll bring it up to him. Bring it up to him. He's a sweetheart of a man. It's a good guy. And I, the way I'm, drop was through John Hamm, believe it or not, who one of my friends with. So Ham sent it to him.

But I don't know if he's going to be able to get it over the finish line or wants to or I think his team might have got in his ear. It may not be the right thing for him right now. According to Insider, My Time to Shine, hello, a source recently read the script for X-Men reboot and had nothing but praise for it. We'll talk about this in the sense.

Here's where things get really interesting, though. Apparently, this source described it is if Thunderbolts, X-Men first class, Batman v. Superman, a breakfast club had a baby, it would be this. That's quite the combination. While best taken with a pinch of salt, these comparisons still offer potentially intriguing clues about what Marvel Studios has planned for his X-N-reboot, Thunderbolt points to a dysfunctional ensemble being at the heart of the story of the mutants initially struggling to work together before becoming a genuine team. That's really what we need. So let me...

So how do we know what his tastes are? But I don't know, but like, you know, it's good to start getting some buzz out there for it. I'm excited for it.

I like Thunderbolts a lot. I like what they're, I like this choice. I think it was a perfect choice for X-Men. I think he's going to bring it along. We'll see what the cast is. But, you know, Kaiser, you think, is there any merit to the fact that, you know, one guy sitting in a basement goes, this is great. No. Yeah.

No. that's it i love the fucking x-men i mean so listen i think i you know smet's always asking me what you're rushed more movies and on any given day breakfast clubs on there so i mean it's exciting yeah i what do you think smet you think this is a this is something that to take married into or do you maybe a little bit of both maybe it is going to be pretty good but we can't take it off a one guy's opinion i mean i i i don't think we can take one guy's opinion but i mean if you're going to compare it to a movie a set of movies like that that's a that's a good one to to be in the equation. So I just think people are probably excited about it. You have that young cast,

so they're leaning into that. That this is going to be a young cast. These are going to be kids, right? If they're at school, you know, for the mutant. So I mean, as long as it's not a movie where they're in detention the whole time under the basketball court, you know, with the X-Jad, it'll be fun. Well, it shouldn't look. The Breakfast Club side of it could just be that, hey, look, we are just coming, it's a coming to age story you know and it's that that that's the main the main thing and you're building out the characters and them trying to find each other um so yeah i think that it's a it's a that's what it should be that's what it should be i thought that movie was like going production and everything i guess i'm a little behind i thought that was that that is happening though

right oh it's definitely happening i mean the the way that it's working right now is you've got um obviously doomsday is coming out that's going to be massive in december then you're going to have the follow-up to that movie next year which is secret wars then they'll probably do i think it's black panther three after that and then you'll start leading into the x-men movies and the x-men will be the future of marvel moving forward as it should be yeah so yeah um yeah so i'm i'm i'm pumped for it i like i like who we have as the director is jud hirsch playing beast jud hirsch yeah he is but he doesn't know it though. Right now, Avengers Doomsday is currently set to arrive in theaters on December 18th, but will MCU fans get to see the movie sooner than expected? There is a Redditor revealing that they've been able to book a special advanced screening at the Granada Hill's nine branch of Regency theaters in California on the 16th, 730. More screenings are listed for the 17th. And as Games radar points out, the official Doomsday website is also listing screenings for these days. Regency theaters may have jumped the gun, but Disney and Marvel Studios appear to be planning early screenings for Doomsday. This has become the norm for many big titles in recent years, including Spider-Man brand-new day back in July. Spoilers become an issue.

Screenings like this build buzz and give a new blockbuster and an early box office boost. It's particularly important for Doomsday as now it gets a head start on June Part 3, which also opens on the 18th over the holidays. All signs points to the next MCU movie being one of the biggest years titles, if not the biggest. it's already hit 40 million in pre-sale tickets and could be on track to demolish every record set by Spider-Man brand new day, which is an undeniably spectacular feat. If the advanced screenings are on the way for Avengers Doomsday, then some fans will inevitably be frustrated that they've already booked tickets for the 18th. Of course, most will want to see the movie again anyway, assuming it lives up to expectations,

and we certainly don't know how widespread these showings will be across the U.S. and globally. Marvel Studios has been hyping up Doomsday since last December, when four teasers played in theaters alongside Avatar Fire and Ash, excitement starts building even before then with last March's epic cast chair reveal. So this is one of those things I've been talking about this. I don't know if you heard my crazy prediction on this Kaiser. I said it's months ago. People are starting to get on board with this one.

If this movie is really good, if it is really good, this could be the first movie in history to hit $3 billion, in my opinion, if it's really good. Jesus. That's a staggering. Now, in comparison, Endgame, now, granted, it was the finale to a whole big

thing. It made like 2.8 or 2.9 or whatever it was. Ticket sales are a little bit higher now. More IMAX screenings are out now. This is essentially, as I've been saying, and they're going to put the re-release of Endgame out, this is going

to be a sequel to quite possibly the re-release will probably push it over Avatar the biggest movie in history so it's it has a possibility to break these Spider-Man records which would be insane considering that no one even knew Spider-Man

was going to do what it did so what do you feel about Doom's Day the hype behind it and is it crazy to think this movie could do that well how much did Spider-Man do right now it stands I think of like 2.5 something like that which was crazy everyone thought it was going to tap out of

like 1.7. Yeah. Directed by a kid from San Diego State who I went to film school with. Unbelievable. Oh, he's really good. Yeah. Yeah. Fucking man. You know what, dude, I think you might be, I think, yeah, I think you're right.

I think it's a hot, I mean, I think maybe, and maybe five years from now when they do a couple re-releases, it could hit there. but if any movie has a shot to do it but again like i said last week it's got it's got to be one of those word of mouths if the movie is even the least bit divisive where like half the people didn't like it this has got to be a movie where people are going to want to come back and see it like i couldn't agree with you i couldn't agree with you more if it comes out to where people like it's okay it's just by the numbers is not that great and not people who are just going to say that because there's already people who are planning they haven't seen the movie and that's already what they're going to say you know like oh it's fine

it's just it's it's mid it's just a cameo fest because that's what they want to say it's a cameo fest and everything too that's all this is but in reality if then more of more people who actually do see the movie and do feel that way and it does really become like a mid card kind of movie then yes then it doesn't it doesn't you know it'll still do 1.5 to possibly two billion dollars no matter what um but to keep going repeat business is a must yeah yeah for sure um you don't think out the gate though like i i don't want to root against you i'm rooting for you yeah but i don't think like i think it'll be like a year from now when they re-release it before secret wars then you that's where it might hit that well here's the other question then do you

think that because what what do you think it taps out on its run on its run probably just under where uh spider man you don't think it'll beat spider man well it depends like i said if it's really good No re-release, just pure run. What does it do on a pure run? Oh, that beat Spider-Man for sure. I think you get more... The runtime, too. Do we know the runtime? I'm always trying to think...

I think it's close to, like, 240. Yeah, I mean, you're knocking out, like, one or two screenings per day. And that, but end game says, well, we did fine with that. Yeah. Maybe 2.6? So you think it will beat Spider-Man. 2.4.5? You don't know where you're going on. You have no idea.

All right. Yeah, what are we on? The price is right? I'm trying to do right under it. Yeah. I think it's going to be right in that ballpark, but I don't think. But again, if it is the Mona Lisa of movies, like if everybody's loving it, if it's like, you know what it is?

If everybody's talking about it like they talked about when the dark night in 2008, I remember I was living in Austin at the time and it was just people just kept going back to it and back to it, right? Yeah, that's what it needs to be. I mean, there's no doubt about it. You can't, that's what happened with Spider-Man. You can't just do it off of just initial viewing. It's got to be repeat viewing and people got to get real pumped up to see Secret Wars.

So we'll see what happens. But the fact, what the story really initially is is that those early screenings and doing those early screenings, I still think they should have done it a week, two weeks earlier. And I would have much rather gone up against Jumanji than Dune. It's just a different audience. So I think going up against Dune is going to hurt it a little bit. But I do think by putting those couple screenings beforehand, you do get a head start on Dune. I think that's probably a good idea to try to do because if it is really solid and it's awesome,

then that could hurt Dune. It would be like the first initial wave that comes out and people are just losing their minds about it. You know what? I'll see Dune later. Everyone's hyping up. Yeah. Dume's day already. People are talking about it.

So we see that first. And as opposed to when they both come at the same time, which one do I see? I haven't heard anybody talking about this? I haven't heard him. what do I do? And now you hear all the hype behind it. If there is hype, it could help. Yeah, it's not.

It wouldn't be like a Barbieheimer type situation. No, because it's the same audience. The Barb andheimer thing was a different audience. All right. Let's move into our last story until we get to the games. And you got everybody here at Game of Thrones fan, right? I've never seen one game of one throne. That's crazy.

And speaking of Game of Thrones, Maisie Williams talks about the ARIA Stark spinoff rumors. Now she's been doing a lot of press for Practical Magic too. This article is by

Gemma Sosen. And Gemassocin writes, Macy Williams has finally weighed in on reports that HBO is considering bringing Aria Stark back for a new Game of Thrones spin-off set in Esos Drops of God-Wrider. Kwok Dang Tran is reportedly developing the project, and Westrose has continued to expand since the original series ended,

despite in Game of Thrones controversial final season, fans have embraced House of the Dragon and a Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, of course, rather than immediately revisiting some of the characters' audiences already knew, those series have taken places somewhere else in the timeline. However, there are reports of plans to revisit some of the original show's most popular characters with Aria Stark. who played Aria in all eight seasons of the series was asked about those reports during an interview with The Guardian. And as of now, it doesn't sound as though the actress has been approached about a project. As she admitted that she was just as surprised to see the reports.

She said, I saw that too. And I was like, what? I don't know. Really? She would have, she would have to be developed in some way because I feel like I've changed so much. And I feel like what people loved about Aria is that she always was a child doing things that were quite grown up. Ari was introduced as a young girl before becoming a highly capable assassin with much of her appeal coming from the contrast between her age and the dangerous situation she found herself in. The rumors surrounding a sequel can be tracked back to a lengthy Game of Thrones feature published by the Hollywood Reporter as Agon's Conquest for Movie.

Oh, yeah to do that. Okay, it's spinoffs, more spin-offs of the movie and yada, yada, yada. This to me, like, sometimes you can get an actor or an actress who's trying to keep it quiet and they're like, I don't know, yeah, I've heard anything about it. I generally don't think that there's, I think they don't really know what to do with it yet. I think they're paying attention to those projects, which is House of the Dragon. They're going to wrap it up with season four, Kev. Then you got nine to the seven kingdoms, which is a surprise hit.

They're going to put all their, you know, they said that that series can go on forever. Like, because you've got the kid who's going to be, if you follow the lore, you kind of know what's going on with him and how much history kind of leading into what happens with all the Targaryians. That series could be really our bread and butter for Game of Thrones for a while. And then you got the movie with Agon on the Conqueror. So I would really, I love the idea of doing, I want to see where John Snow went to me, John Snow and Aria doing something together. That would be great. But I don't think there's anything really going on with these two.

What do you think? Well, I heard I was excited for a John Snow one too until I, like, and I can't remember about the finale. I'm not trying to get too spoiler because Kaiser hasn't seen it. But like when I heard the pitch for what the John Snow would be. Spoil away. No, I just. It was like he would just be back on the wall, like serving.

Like I was like, dude, like, here's a thing. You have your sequel. You have your prequel shows, right? Which is great. And what the, the ESOS one can be, first of all, you're going to go into new territory we've never seen before, right? She's going to go sail and she wanted to see what she hasn't seen. And so you'd have your sequels with that.

The thing about doing the ARIA Starc show would be we could see things that happen after the finale, right? Because right now we're all in the past mode right now. We got all the prequels with the House of the Dragon and the Night in the Seven Kingdoms. So it would be interesting to have one show going on concurrently with the prequels. And like they said, they can do it forever with the night. And then you do another one where it's showing things that happened after. And what you said, if they can merge that R.A.

If they could just go away from that idea that like the John Snow, John Snow is going to be like in, I feel like I don't think I'm spoiling anything because it never got picked up. Yeah. But John, the Kit Harrington's idea was that John Snow goes back north of the wall. And like, that's it. So it's like it would always be up there. I'd rather have him on some sort of mission trying to reconnect with his sister. And then we get to see everywhere we haven't been

because that's the whole point that Aria wants to get on that boat, right? Am I correct that she wants to go and see the other parts of the world that she hasn't seen? And we as an audience haven't seen. Yeah. Yeah. Did they already make a John Snow movie? No.

or you'd have to, that's where Freed and his team come in too to be able to balance whatever it might be. But as far as casting, it's the same thing. Okay, casting director comes in. What do you guys? Like, you can get so-and-so they're interested, but they're not going to bend their rate past this. And if you're budget, if you only raised this, well, then you're probably not going to get that person. You know, that's where it comes down to and that's where the dollars are spent when you're making offers to people, you know? So, Mike, this one I answered, but I can do a brief one again, too.

how did you come up with the idea to write our show and what drove you to get the team you have for a show? So the idea for it where it was, Grasping in Strails was something that I did and I always wanted to do, I always wanted it to be a series, right? I always wanted it to do something. I always had the idea for that to keep going on, but it just, with the writer strike that happened at that point and it just, a different crew, I fell into a different crew and everything and it just kind of just never happened.

And so I always wanted to do another scripted thing. And then Shmose kind of came out, it's thing and I was thinking of the next idea and Bonnie was on the show and we did a goof or people thought that her and I had had dated in the past we didn't but we we took a we took a goof out of it and we played into it and I was like what if you actually did something like that where the two exes had to actually host something together I started to formulate a thing and it just kind of evolved and then years later it was sitting on my shelf and I gave it to martini and then we gutted the whole thing started from scratch

with the characters and kind of built it up there. And as far as driving the team, Martini and I had a great meeting. We've always had a great relationship. And I was like, it should be great to do this. Bring her own spin to it. And then Freed, I've known for such a long time. And I've always wanted to, I'm such a fan of his work and what he's done.

And it's just, it's incredible. The, the empire that he's kind of built. But I know that he wanted to do scripted stuff too. And he's got such a great comedic brain that I sent him, I sent him the script and, you know, he responded to it. So that's part of it. The other people that haven't been announced, we'll talk about it. And everybody who's in there should check those episodes out with Martini and with Andrew.

Oh, yeah. The whole team of the episodes of them, great people, great fun. You can see the chemistry between Christian and Martini. You just spark off the screen. We should make a trending playlist for the people who've been on the shows. Not a bad idea. Are there certain songs on playlist that triggers writing for certain scenes and episodes? Definitely.

I know you talked about the budgetary comparisons to the bear, but in terms of writing the story, Well, I've talked about the bear.

I've talked about hacks, and I've talked about Californication. Initially, when the initial idea was like, he was definitely way more into the Hank Moody side and even more of a dick back in the original drafts. And we were both, and even PLD and everybody else who read it, he just had to be more likable. I think he's extremely more likable now.

And that was the thing we'd have to do that with him. And then her, she had to evolve from it. But there was, those three, for sure. Now, when I say entourage on this, and I bring up it, not in the way you think of entourage with the Hollywood store, you know, thing and the dudes and all that, it's not that. But what I don't think has happened, what I thought that entourage did well was the, the inner workings of how the Hollywood system worked, right? This to me, of the inner workings of the podcast world and YouTube and things of that nature, that hasn't really been covered as much.

television and i think that that that's where that that's a similarity if that makes sense um eric storm do you have to wait until after the first episode is shot and edited before reaching out to find a home or have you ready begin reaching out netflix is always adding shows well i think that we'd want to shoot and edit it because you want to have an idea of well we know we have because right now you'd just be going up pitching you shouldn't even shoot the show at this point if you're just going to do that because you're just pitching the script um if you if you're if you're going and and the other idea is like I said look in the supreme happiness is we we hit we get that 13,000 people they put in the 25 bucks and we make the show with the budget that boardwalk

said this is a budget we can do a comfortable show how we need to do this make some cool offers and everything to like that that's great right let's say we do that let's say we over shoot that and we're able to do what I said before I made a couple more offers to other people we get a really good DP we get some really good locations and we get to a place where we have like the bears budget for people who and they just brought that up before the bear is i think i think the budget for the pilot and you can fact check me on this i think it was 1.1 or something i think the pilot for that show um but again that's not what we're asking for um you'd be great if that's what we had to shoot there now if we did did and we and guild raised like 6.7 million dollars which is crazy and the most the coolest thing that

i've ever heard for what they did and the way that they did it if you got that kind you can you can do a whole series. So we have to shoot everything first and let's say it's the pilot. You shoot the pilot, you make the pilot the best that you can make it. And then you go out and then you say, look, look at what we did and we know where seasons one through six go. Um, yeah. Let's see. Joseph, I, what TV characters more like your character? Please don't say Tony from who's the boss. No, he's not. Definitely not. I mean, I think he's got like a, like, again, a Hank Moody meets he's got a little bit of that. He's got a little, of, I mean, what would you, what would you say? I absolutely will. Mike, how do your characters in our show cope with today's world? I'm sorry if that was explained, but how did you come up with the characters and their personalities? Well, I mean, the characters and personalities, as far as, you know, the two main characters, it's just like there are heightened versions of myself and Martini, and we took our strengths,

then we took the story and the character that we, we thought of the two and they gave them the backstory and then pushed them forward to what they would be. They're trying to go with today's world. That's the whole point of this whole story is they're trying to figure out. They're kind of like they're very set in their old ways and they've got to try to maneuver around the new way or get passed by. So yeah. Feels familiar. It's true, right?

So this is Bill. What sites or platforms will the series be available on as well as this one? I don't know yet. You know, that's the whole thing. First of all, we've got to fund the series. So if and the goal right now when you look at the Kickstarter, it's just to fund the pilot because I didn't want to overshoot it. You know, I don't want to overshoot. I want to make sure we can just shoot because if I go out saying, hey, guys, this is what we need to make the whole series.

You know like, whoa, we're going to be like, what the fuck? But if you guys are like, hey, let's make the series. That's a different conversation. But let's start with the pilot. And then, Bill, the question will be, let's hope everybody, every platform wants it. And it was an earlier question that someone had yesterday. I want the place that understands it the best and gets where the series can go to get it. So that's it.

Let's say, writing a, oh, Joseph, writing a show, a different structure than writing a story. I think dialogue scares me more than the storyboard. I think that's where we, I like the dialogue side of it and I like it to feel real. That's the thing that's most fun for me. So I think, I think it's just, it just depends on what you're writing. know I think that's it um was there ever thought no it was always a TV show it's just just too much there's just too much of where they have to evolve and all the stuff has to happen with them of like teasing to where they eventually go and the the relationships that are

Seven, if you raise enough funds to cover the actors you want and make more than just a pilot, would you try to write and shoot another episode? Would you save those funds for the series once it gets picked up? Well, I think that really comes down to, let's say, okay. What are we going to do is be up front with everybody, too. This is what we were so shocked that we raised X. We'll be able to make offers to this person, this person, this person. We used all.

And let's say then after all of that, we've got money left over. Now, how much of that money is left over? Is that money to go towards maybe some of the Smodown stuff and build out a cool live event or anything too, right? Because that's part of the perks. Or does it go towards, like you said? Well, let's try to shoot. We have enough that if we wanted to, we have enough left over now. we've got all the talent we want

we got all the songs we wanted we got all the crew that we wanted we got everything we wanted and we have enough that we can now make another episode or the dream we have so much left over now right now we can make seven episodes of this show should we do it and then sell that all great questions and great problems to have can you bring that up

The answer is probably no, knowing that what we want to do and how we want to do it. But if, especially we shoot the series and they want to recast it, it's like hell no. But I mean, I think the whole, I think the whole, whole reason is that we we put everything into this to make sure that this happened this way as opposed to pitching it so probably the answer probably no um this this is hilarious
