The Kristian Harloff Show - X-Men Reboot WITHOUT Magneto & Gambit?! | MARTINI PARATORE talks TRENDING
Episode Date: September 4, 2026🚀 Our Show Is Trending is launching on Kickstarter September 22nd! We're excited to finally share what we've been working on. Head over to https://ourshowistrending.com/ and hit Notify Me on Launc...h so you'll be among the first to know when the Kickstarter officially goes live. 📅 Kickstarter launches September 22nd 🔔 Get notified: https://ourshowistrending.com/ Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot may be moving forward without two of the franchise's most popular mutants! A new report claims Magneto and Gambit will NOT appear in the upcoming MCU X-Men movie, raising some major questions about Marvel's plans for its new mutant era. On today's Kristian Harloff Show, we discuss why Marvel might choose to leave Magneto and Gambit out of the first X-Men movie, whether that's actually the right decision, and which characters could take their place on the team. Marvel has already started assembling its new generation of mutants with Professor X, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Rogue and Storm, while Mister Sinister and Emma Frost are expected to play major roles. With Magneto reportedly sitting this one out — and Wolverine also expected to be absent — could Marvel be deliberately trying to give audiences an X-Men story completely different from the Fox movies? And what does no Gambit mean for Rogue? Could Marvel be saving that relationship for a sequel or another MCU project? Plus, new Rogue actress Inde Navarrette is already lining up her next major project. Following her X-Men casting, Navarrette has joined the upcoming sci-fi movie The Waffle House Index from Apple Studios and Plan B. We also discuss the first reactions to Practical Magic 2. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are finally back together for the long-awaited sequel, but the initial social media response appears decidedly mixed. Can nostalgia and the original movie's cult following still turn Practical Magic 2 into a theatrical hit? The big question today is whether Marvel Studios is making the right call by launching its X-Men franchise without Magneto and Gambit. Magneto has dominated many previous X-Men movies, so giving the character a break could allow Marvel to focus on villains we haven't seen nearly as much on the big screen. But leaving Gambit out when Rogue is already part of the team could be a much more controversial decision. We break down Marvel's potential strategy, who could still join the team, and how the MCU can make its version of the X-Men feel different from everything that's come before. If you're a fan of X-Men, Magneto, Gambit, Rogue, Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Professor X, Marvel Studios, MCU, Practical Magic 2, Sandra Bullock, or Nicole Kidman, this episode is for you! #XMen #Marvel #MarvelStudios #MCU #Magneto #Gambit #Rogue #Wolverine #Cyclops #JeanGrey #ProfessorX #MisterSinister #IndeNavarrette #PracticalMagic2 #SandraBullock #NicoleKidman #MovieNews #KristianHarloffShow SPONSORS: CASH APP: Download Cash App Today: https://capl.onelink.me/vFut/76rlxe00 #CashAppPod. • Cash App is a financial services platform, not a bank. More deep.
Great.
Perfect.
I got nothing from you.
I can hear nothing from you.
Yeah.
I can hear nothing from you.
Zero.
Siltch.
Fuck off.
There you go.
Welcome back, everybody.
Beat it.
Welcome back, everybody.
And it's nice to have everybody here,
including guilty.
So we're going to be going over not only the Avengers story that just broke,
or X-Men, rather,
that we'll see two more X-room popping up news that just popped up for me that I was excited about
it was the potential of a Dungeons and Dragons sequel that's pretty awesome so we'll talk about that
we'll talk about some other things going on in the world of movie news and then I have my writing
partner and co-star of trending the pilot the 30-minute pilot that I am that you guys know about
that we've been talking about so what I would love for you to do is start throwing in
in questions and you don't have to put it,
which is going to, as soon as they come in,
it can be in the regular chat, they'll be super chats,
whatever kind of chat you want.
PLD is going to star them. So that way, when we get
martini in here, we have loads of questions
for her. And
we'll talk about that and more
on the show today. So,
let's get into it, everybody.
It's Krishonov show. Here we go.
Welcome back to the show.
Everybody. It is.
What the hell is today?
I don't know. A, PLD, is the Super Chat thing start?
It's good. Do we just don't have any questions yet?
Which is fine by me. I'm just curious. Okay.
We'll see if Martini can actually beat Roka. That would be hilarious if she did.
I think he's on the, I think he's still in the lead. I hate to tell you that PLD, but Roka's in the lead.
Anyway, so a lot of great things happening. I still am not able to share the amazing news that we got yesterday.
But people have been having some great theories.
And I've seen a couple of people get close to at least one of the.
little good pieces of news that we got.
And we'll be able to discuss it.
We're not too far away from all this stuff.
And man, check this out.
This happened earlier today.
And you guys really made this happen.
Check it out.
We are currently at 2006 followers on the Kickstarter right now.
and I cannot
I cannot thank you enough
and we're still you know we've got
we got a lot to do
we got a lot to do because we are going to
really aiming towards that
5,000 I mean that's going to be a big start
for us to do
when
when the project launches so if you guys
if you haven't hit that button please do so
and yeah so it's it's
it's really exciting
And I feel like more people will hit the button even more.
When I'm able to give that news, I just can't give it yet.
But I think everybody's going to want to be part of this project
and see it come from where it is.
So, anyway, again, make sure you put those questions in for Martini when she gets in here.
But we're going to discuss some stuff together, us crew.
And let's check it out.
Let's start with, let's start with this one.
The X-Men, these two fans.
Fan favorite mutants are reportedly going to be missing from the reboot.
Some more news coming from X-Men.
I haven't even read this yet.
And I'm hoping,
someone told me, I might have one of the comments just told me yesterday.
I might have a slight allergy to almonds.
I think you might be right.
But that's for another discussion.
These two fan-favorant mutants will reportedly be missing from the reboot.
Marvel Studios X-Pen reboot is quickly taking shape,
and a new rumor claims to reveal two fan-favorant mutants will be missing from the movie.
I'm hoping it's Wolverine and Rogue.
And I'll tell you why.
Marvel Studios Untitled X-Men reboot has,
well, it's obviously not Rogue, you idiot.
You know what I mean.
I don't know what I mean, so you know what I mean.
Good on you.
Marvel Studios' Untitled X-Men reboot has started assembling its cast,
but the team definitely feels incomplete.
Beast is still expected to join.
Both Cyclops, Gene Gray, Rogue, and Storm,
but will that be it?
When the X-Men debuted, it was with a five-person team.
Rogue and Storm were in part of the lineup and said we had Angel and Iceman.
And with that mind, perhaps we should expect one more addition to the ensemble before camera start rolling.
X-Men's going to be led by Professor X while Mr. Sinister and Emma Frost are expected to be the primary antagonist.
There is a chance that the latter is aligned with the mutant heroes.
As for Magneto or heard conflicting reports of whether or not the master of magnetism will be
included in this fresh start of the franchise.
Plus, with Rogue and the mix, many fans hope that Gambit won't be too far behind.
Well, while it could have been down the line, doesn't sound like it's in the works just yet.
According to Night Edge Media, Caleb Williams, neither Magneto nor Gambit will appear in X-Men.
It's going to disappoint some fans, but it's not hugely surprising.
Anita was the big bad.
Yad, yada, yeah.
Okay.
So those two characters, I'll tell you what?
P.L.
Oops, that's, she not here yet.
PLD, I like this.
I'll tell you why.
Because it's almost like, I mean, look, Magneto eventually does team up, help them
and all those things too.
But if you're going to introduce him again as a big bad, right, you do Joker style.
Like you did, right, at the end of Batman begins, you bring him in and you go, oh,
at the very end, you tease him, some metal shit is moving in a post-credit scene.
You're like, oh, here he comes.
And you build towards it.
And the same way you build towards Wolverine.
Right.
I would say also I just want to throw it out there the difference between like, because you always talk about
DC having to build out with Batman Superman or whatever.
They don't need to do that quite with X-Banks.
We probably have already have this already fascinating.
Like the MCU's already strong enough that they can survive and tease it out this way.
And the original X-Men weren't like Wolverine wasn't part of that in a way.
Got to get him on later on.
That's a nice tease to get on to the next one at this point.
I like me too.
And people are excited enough to see how they'll, it's not like, oh, I just want Wolverine.
And if he's done it, I'm not watching X-Men.
No one's saying that.
No one.
They're going to watch.
Yeah, because they want to build towards it.
Because like you said, we've had enough of those characters beforehand.
Plus the fact both Gambit and Wolverine, you've got to transition as smoothly as you can away from Q Jackman.
And then now, Channing Tatum is so weird.
Your Channing Tatum is going to have a big role at least, or moments at least, in this.
He could wind up dying in that scene with Shang-Chi for all we know.
But he's still Channing Tatum.
He's still continuing over from a big.
impact in Deadpool Wolverine.
So leading into this, it makes sense to me that you would do that,
but you'd have to like gradually then bring in Gambit because of the relationship he has with
Rogue.
Well, to say, too, Gambit is also another one who is not brought into the radio.
Like we're going to start out with the young X-Men.
They're trying to do a younger X-Men group, it feels like.
So go with that and wait until Gambit comes in when he like normally would have come in.
That just makes sense to me.
I agree.
And I think that you kind of have said, I even see some people, why not leave Wolverine if he's
one of your best guys?
Because the problem with that is that you got,
you might run into the same problem that you ran into with the old X-Men movies.
And that's everybody just, Hugh Jackman, he's the star, that's your movie, that's it.
It's not a Batman movie.
It's not a, it's not standalone.
They did a Wolverine thing.
You want to make sure that these characters, Cyclops, Storm, Rogue, they can all stand on their own and get popular and then introduce Wolverine because they've got enough of that IP behind it.
Exactly.
I was just about to say.
You want to let these characters get their own spotlight.
It's like if Wolverine's in there, it's all about Wolverine.
Now he's not.
Now you can actually see Cyclops get his due.
See Gene Greeter do.
See Roe get or do, et cetera.
That's the way to go.
Agreed.
So anyway, I'm very curious what other people think about this.
Do you think that this makes sense to not have these two?
Should they have more?
Put your thoughts in there.
Let us know.
Again, I, there's another story that actually popped up that I really,
I think is interesting.
Now, I don't know
how my friend sent me this.
So I don't know how like legit this is
or what this is in general,
but it's a fun little debate anyway.
I am really excited
for the Game of Thrones movie
that is coming out.
And I think a lot of you guys are.
But this is kind of a,
this has been going around for a bit,
hoping that Henry Cavill
is going to be Agon, the Conqueror.
Now, apparently this,
particular Instagram article says that Henry Cavill is being considered for the role of
Agon.
Let's see.
The actor's name is circulating among fans, though, as a potential choice.
That's it with Cavill already, you know.
So this is, he's not really being considered, I think.
But I know it's not, it's not, I still wanted to cover it because it's not necessarily
a story that is breaking.
But it, my friend had asked me the same thing is, do you think this is the way to go by having
like a well-known person play Agon?
I said, I kind of think you do for this one, at least someone recognizable.
Now, whether or not it's Henry Cavill, I don't know, but I think Henry Cavill, people would get pretty excited about that, seeing what Agon can do.
And the more and more I watch House of the Dragon, the more and more I want to see this movie.
Because he's mentioned so much and what he did and the lure of how, you know, he's helped unite the kingdoms and do everything that he did.
and that the big kind of overall battle or wars that,
and to see a Game of Thrones movie finally on screen,
I think that they had enough of a belt kind of in IP,
that this is the way to go for this movie.
Now, whether or not it's Caval or not is irrelevant at this point.
I think that you do have to get someone that people are going to get excited about to see.
But, you know, whether or not it is going to be him, I do not know.
what do you guys think about it? Do you like
who's going to
do you like the idea of Cavill? Do you think it should be somebody else?
I don't know. Put your thoughts in there.
Tell us what you think about it.
The other thing that I have to talk about,
I have to talk about this because I was,
I had no interest really. I shouldn't say no interest,
but I was curious when the first Dungeons and Dragons came out.
And I was like, okay. I remember they had one a while ago
and it kind of stunk.
Well, then the moment.
movie came out and I loved it. I loved it. I think I saw it twice in the theater. I think so.
Is that true? I don't even remember, but I definitely said I did. I did see it to peel D
knows better than I do. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. I saw it twice in the theater. It makes sense. I think
it took, maybe I took my daughters. I don't remember, but either way, I remember really being
hyped up for it and really loving it. And then I think, and then I saw it again when it came out
on, on digital, watched with my family and we all liked it. So it was, it just didn't do very well.
and now it's looking for a new home.
It underwhelmed at the box office,
$208 million from $150 million budget.
I mean, that's bad.
It's not good.
But it was received.
So, well, what, what's the Rotten Tomatoes score on that?
And what's the, I'm going to guess,
I'm going to guess that the Rotten Tomato score is 82.
I'm going to guess that the audience score is 89.
I'll be way off on that, but I'm curious to say.
But it does have an enthusiasm.
fan following. The title received praise from critics and has earned many new fans in three years
since its release with people clicking with its humor, its tone, its performances. Now, while out-promoting
their new action comedy, Mayday, Daly and Goldstein say that the rights holder has borough reminds
determined to find a new home for the sequel after Paramount Skydance passed on making another.
They tell the playlist, what was it purely? It is 91% of critics and 93% of the audience.
So high. So, I mean, you can see why they're trying to get something done, because those who
have seen it, love it, both critics and audiences, and it keeps building up.
So they tell the playlist they already completed a screenplay for the sequel and hope
another studio recognize the value of continuing the franchise.
Ask whether anyone was still trying to make the economics work on a follow-up.
They say, absolutely.
I think Hasbro is a big believer in it.
And if they can figure out a studio partner to make it work, they'll want to proceed as are
our producers.
I mean, look, it's something that is near and dear to our hearts that we love making the
first one, we fell in love with the characters, and there's so much potential in a sequel because
the first act isn't filled with exposition or introduction to this family, and we've already
become the custom. So you can kind of launch right into the story, which is really nice,
and there are practical realities with the finance contingent, and who knows, whatever it ever gets
made, but we're proud of the sequel script and hope that some point it does find a path.
So the financial failure is seen as bad timing. It came out four days before the Super Mario
Brothers movie, and a month after the Wizards of the Coast Change the official gaming license, which
led fans to boycott the franchise for a period.
Oh, that's interesting.
I didn't know that.
Well, I think that what I'm curious about is they're doing this movie with Apple.
Why doesn't Apple give it a shot to see what Apple would do with it?
I mean, in Netflix, both of those, that would be pretty great.
It's interesting, too, because Netflix is developing the series, the Ravenloft series,
series was a D&D campaign setting
and I know Alfonso Coran is like involved
as an interesting executive producer
so they should do a Netflix could be a whole
Dungeons and Dragons
I'd love to see that movie was so good
it was just such a good it was a feel good movie
the chemistry was good it was a good balance
that's the kind of tone
that I would have been
all for when it came to
to Masters of the Universe because
people really really
I think
well I misjudged
my thoughts on it when I
said that the goofy jokes and they're like well it was always goofy when kind of growing up and it's like
you can make something still light and a bit cheesy but have humor in a real story not step on the
jokes i thought dungeons and dragons did that masterfully no pun intended um and i think that if you did
that again on streaming you could really i mean some of the money that they put like how much did that
that Galgadoop movie cost that just did on Amazon Prime.
Look at that budget, PLD.
I'm going to guess that that budget was like $90 to $100 million, right?
And we've seen in the theater, it's Amazon Prime thing.
What are you prime pick it up?
Prime would be perfect for, I mean, if Prime's going all in on, yeah, go ahead.
They haven't officially announced anything, but like the estimate is at 50 to 65 million for that.
Okay.
Well, and then so Masters of the Universe, though, was like 170, right?
And that movie made how much at the box office overall?
Because, you know, if you could put 130 into a sequel of Dungeons and Dragons 2 for Amazon,
the more and more I hear myself say it, I think Amazon sounds like the best place.
Yeah, probably.
It's funny, you throw it out there.
It's Thor Ragnaroff versus Loved Dunder.
That was like Dungeon Dragons versus Master of the Universe.
As far as like Tom goes.
Agreed.
Agreed.
I think that's exactly right.
I think that where
Ragner Rock knew its tone,
knew the balance,
Love and Thunder lost it completely.
Dungeons and Dragons knew the tone.
Masters and Masters and Universe was 170 to 200 million.
And how much did it make?
Box office 113.8.
Yeah.
Ugh.
Right.
Like that's a major loss.
It's a major loss,
but they're probably going to do a sequel for it.
110 million or that was Mike Kalanowski, I think.
Maybe so.
I do think, though,
because, I mean, and maybe it's just because Bezos loves
masters and that's why it's going to get a sequel.
But if you're going to justify,
maybe it did, that movie would,
Dungeons 2 would do very well on streaming.
Oh, absolutely.
Because it's got the built an audience now.
It's something that cult classic already at this point.
Or if you're Netflix, or if you're Netflix,
you do, give it the, you know,
the two week in theater IMAX thing.
So I don't know.
I hope, I'm rooting for that movie to get a sequel,
because I thoroughly enjoyed that one.
The last thing that I'm going to touch upon here
before we go to the sponsors and come back with Martinez.
So Practical Magic 2,
the other day I wasn't on the stream
because I was Wednesday because I went to see Practical Magic 2.
Maybe I'm just getting sappy in my old age PLD,
but like I had a good time of this movie
and I thought that kind of old school 90s feel for it.
I did feel like what I did see in this,
what I'm about to talk about here is what I agree with some of these critics
is that the movie is too long.
It is about, the original was like 140 or something.
This is like 210 or something like that.
It's way too long.
That is my biggest criticism with it for sure
because it's like you're going to lose people.
And I think the third act kind of loses its, it's hope for a little bit or loses its,
um, it's glue for a bit.
And it's kind of just, you're like, oh, we're getting to the end.
Okay.
But the first two acts really, they had it me after the chemistry was real good.
I liked watching, um, Sandra Bullock come back.
I thought that Joey King was really solid in it.
And I thought that they had a, I had that, they all had a good report.
But I seemed to, myself and Tom Chattel,
actually I sat next to, seem to be the only people who enjoyed this because it's not getting good reviews.
Practical Magic 2 fails to cast a spell.
First reactions to the sequel arrive.
This is from comic book movie.
What do they say?
All right.
Mark Cassidy says, 28 years after the first movies released, Nicole Kidman, Sandra Bullock, are set to reunite as modern-day witch sisters,
Gillian and Sally for Practical Magic 2.
The sequel is going to hit on the 11th of September,
and the first reactions are now being shared.
Let's see.
We're going to go to some of these reactions,
which Mark Zammett said I had to watch this as the hype
about Practical Magic 2 coming out.
I love Sandra Bullock, love Nicole Kibman,
but I have to say his film is terrible.
Wow, I disagree with that, Mark Zammett.
But hey, it's Zammett's opinion.
Zammett didn't like it.
I don't know Mark Zammett.
But he didn't like it. It was terrible. I don't know about terrible.
I mean, there's some terrible movies. I think this was terrible.
Simon Thompson, who I liked very much.
It's disappointingly tepid sequel that fails to conjure it much of anything,
including the original whimsy out of 1.30 minutes overlong.
Couldn't agree more with that.
Pacing is off. At the end, I agree with that.
And the third act feels fumbled. I agree with that.
It's a wasted opportunity.
There's sadly little charmer magic.
I'm not going to say it's a wasted opportunity because it's going to open a pretty big.
A lot of people are going to see this movie.
So I wouldn't go with that aspect.
but I see where Simon was coming from.
Courtney Howard said she's mixed.
Tangible Nicole Kimman's chemistry carries the film, agreed.
30 minutes too long, agreed, with lots of shoe leather.
Daughter's dynamic dealt short shrift makes you work overtime to uncover good,
thematic resonance, a soundtrack left lacking hits.
Okay, I can't argue with a lot of that.
It's tough.
Practical Magic 2 is the lively, cozy and charming sequel with a hefty amount of heart
that is sure to please longtime fans of the beloved original.
Bullock and Kimman still have the magic.
King Williams and pays for terrific new additions, especially the latter.
Who is it?
Who is signally charming here in the expansion of the Owens lore and mythology makes for a fun, spooky adventure.
It runs a little too long in the tooth and unfortunately sidelines some characters,
but this long-awaited sequel certainly proves some good things are worth waiting for.
Okay, he dug it.
So, where else?
Anything else worth kind of checking out here?
Mixed bag.
Same thing.
I don't think
PLD that this
these reviews
this is one of those movies that
reviews ain't going to mean shit
it.
It reviews ain't going to mean nothing.
Bullet proof.
Yeah.
For the opening weekend, for sure.
Now, we'll see.
I think that the audience,
I think that the people
that are looking forward to seeing this movie
like fans are going to really dig this movie.
I think they're going to
feel like it's perfect.
I mean, maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think this is for, I mean, I don't think critics are going to have any impact on this.
Sometimes critics can really have an impact on it.
This is one of those movies that they don't, people who are ready who got their tickets are not going to give a shit.
But it's also, that being said, it's not going to get new people in there like, you know, maybe what it could do is maybe someone's like, oh, I didn't really saw the first one.
Should I go check it?
Oh, the second one's getting bad reviews.
I don't want to see it.
That's possible.
But we'll see.
All right.
Well, what do you guys think?
You give a shit?
Put your thoughts in there, let us know.
We are going to get to a few things here today, but Martini Perotori, my writing partner
and co-star of Training will be here in just a little bit.
Please, please, please start asking.
I'm sure if I'm not mistaken already, Sam probably has already asked questions.
We'll see.
Some of those starred questions in there.
Make sure that you ask as many questions as you can.
We're going to do a full Q&A, and not just to Martini.
Ask Me Too, about pilot, other things that we have going on with it.
We'll go a little bit more and tell you whatever we can.
Ken about the story and other things too and things you want to know about it as we're leading
up to it because you've been asking me such wonderful questions over the last couple of the last
week please we'll have her here too and want you guys to get to know her a little bit more too
and with that being said I'm going to tell you guys real quick about our two wonderful
sponsors today we'll be right back in just a moment that's right you ready oh no
not yet I'm sorry thank you so much to cash app and cows
you for being part of the show. And thank you to you guys this whole week. People realize,
and you guys always know that you watch this show long enough, you know, important is for the sponsors,
keeping everything going on. So thank you guys for doing that. Thank you for continuously being here
and, you know, asking questions and being part of it. I think what I'll do until what Martini gets here
is anything non-trending related that I can get to now. I mean, you guys can still put those types of
questions in for the rest of the show too. But I'm going to read some of these. And Ron H.,
Happy Friday.
All it's stressed it into media with BBC.
No Ebony or Ivory.
Christian won't watch Hollywood,
so can he be trusted?
Maybe.
Well, again, I didn't watch it yet.
You never know.
You never won't.
You never know.
That one from Danny is a trending, so I'll wait.
Neophyte reviews, 450 Jules, phone figure.
Thank you so much.
Okay, same thing.
Allison, the new from, from, Glorious Bastards?
Neophy.
100 Jules.
High five.
Thank you.
Dave G.
750 Jules football.
Thank you.
Let's say.
Okay.
And what,
this is a great question.
This is a great question.
Nathan Drake,
in what world would you think you'd want more dungeons and dragons sequels,
but not more Heemann sequels?
I could watch five more of those Dungeons and Dragons movies.
They're so good.
I'm with you.
Yeah, I mean,
I still think that there's more stuff.
I think so there's more stuff that we can,
you know,
you could do with masters and maybe maybe they you can always change a tone you know and you can
always pull back on jokes a little bit too sometimes people feel like well we went so far the first time
you know we pull back now pull back a little bit maybe the second one is significantly better
really do we know any movies like that that the first one just wasn't that great but the second
one was awesome i know we do but i'm having a hard time thinking off the top of my head
I'm trying to think what movies that have come out that we like.
Some people would say Bad Boys 2 was even better than Bad Boys 1.
Yeah, you know, I have to go back.
Makuga was always the Bad Boys.
Yeah, I'm trying to think of what movies like.
But Bad Boys 1, I remember being good.
Yeah, it was solid.
Yeah, I mean.
It's like, you know, I don't mean what sequel was better in general.
I mean, what movie just the first one was like,
is that right?
Why didn't make it another one?
Martini's got to do the,
the thing from her car
so she's just got
Star Trek 2
yeah but that was
the first one was still
I mean you know
you could say same Superman too
but like that again that's a sequel
the Superman 1 was great
so I don't know
I don't know
but yeah
all right
you know what author out there
Mission Impossible
much later on
became the Mission Impossible franchise
long after the debut of it
like they didn't really get
to be possible
yeah but it's still
but Mission Impossible one was still a good movie
I guess it was so.
It was so. It was still good.
All right. Let's see.
And then this is great.
Darian is like in general, more news stories need to end with.
What do you guys think?
You give a shit?
I might as well.
I mean, I think that I think that I've distinguished myself enough away from like, you know,
if people were like a, a can't be a fan, which he's like, he's like the, he's like the example of when you, like when I go on his show, I'm way more.
I'm respectful and contained.
I'm still myself, but I'm contained in that he goes by like that old kind of school like ESPN by the book thing.
He has fun.
He messes around.
He goes up.
But I, I'm way looser on my show.
My shows always fit like a like a podcast, I think.
I'm always kind of in that broadcasting kind of way.
And yeah, I don't really want to go into the broadcast side of things.
And there was my, my thing.
I'm more so trying to talk to people the way that I would if I was sitting in.
there you know if you and i were grabbing a slice of pizza i would like do we should we even talk about this
what gives you shit right right absolutely yeah um okay there's a lot of great questions coming in for
the show in general which we just she's she's just trying to get she's had some construction around
her place so she's trying to get into a place where it's not too noisy um which is fine now
i'm going to look at this while we do this um currently as i'm going to look i'm going to restart guys
and see where you guys have gotten us thus far.
What a great gift to Martini would be
2030 followers right now.
We started the day less than 2000,
PLD. So how about that?
Loving it, man. Loving it.
2,030 right now.
And if we can get to 2100 today,
that would be awesome.
We could.
I mean, we could.
We can do that.
Yeah.
And then there's more,
there's more questions coming in.
I'm just so, it's like, you know,
I've, I secretly told you the announcement.
Yes.
And I don't know if you brought it up on the show yesterday,
but I did tell you about it.
That's going to make people click.
Oh, absolutely.
Right?
I mean, if I was, to me, that's just like, oh,
it just adds another bit of really just like,
oh, this is, they're going for this thing.
I'm just glad you have a team to hold you back a little bit,
because I know how you get as far as.
Oh, I want to tell everybody everything.
Absolutely.
Yeah, I know.
And it's like, it's, you know, my goal was to actually make the announcement today.
Right.
But Andrew correctly, who, you know, he was like, as you'll see many impressions of Andrew that I do.
And let's wait.
Makes sense.
Let's get, let me get a little closer.
I'll be doing, once you learn more, once people get to know Andrew more, it'll be even better.
Because when I, when I met him, years and years ago, we'd hang out.
We used to watch the two shows we'd watch all the time together.
It was West Wing and Sopranos, right?
And then he's like, why are we going out?
Gras down, my couch, I have some people over, sopranos, the couch.
It's like a mixed, yeah.
I got a friend right there, actually.
On the couch.
And so, anyway, he would, so we'll get to that announcement.
And I can't wait.
Hopefully we may have some more.
Yeah.
And then I guess I sent Craig some stuff and other things, too, about it.
And I just like, just knowing that as we're building in the audience,
the audience starting get hyped up to you.
And I just on the Schmodeown channel today, I've been putting,
I've been peppering in the announcement to each video that we did like this morning.
Not even for Schmodeown.
I put it, we did the Boba Fett episodes five through seven.
Are those up by the way?
You couldn't do it.
No.
I didn't know.
And again, hopefully today, if not today, then definitely tomorrow.
Okay.
So yeah, it's, this is a, I've been just been telling everybody about it.
We put that there.
We did, Sam and I did shoot the Mandalorian season three episodes one and two.
You know what's so funny is that she really does have those, like,
that's almost at the same kind of taste as rest of it.
I do not lead her down any path during whatsoever.
And I almost like try to like fake her into liking it into into.
I watched the first two.
She's after the first episode.
I was like, what do you think?
She goes,
eh,
it's all right.
And she loves Mandalorian.
She loves it.
But she watched episode one.
She's like,
yeah,
it's all right.
And then the second one,
she's like,
there's so many characters,
like the pirates.
And she's like,
she can feel like a cartoon.
I was like,
I didn't say anything.
I didn't say anything.
And then by the second,
I was like,
it's better.
But she's like,
I wasn't excited by the city.
Is it get better?
I'm like,
I said,
you said the same thing about
and or season two.
And in my head,
I'm going,
it gets worse.
Like,
just waiting to the,
the Jack Black episode.
Oh, God,
I'm dreading that episode.
But, um,
but,
you know.
Christopher Lloyd,
watch it for Christopher Lloyd.
Yeah,
I do think,
though,
I will tell you this,
as much as I am not a fan
of the Mandalorian and Grogo movie,
I think she's going to like that movie.
Oh,
I think she's going to love that movie because it's them.
It's all about them.
our time. It's not only just about them. She's not waiting for a movie for Star Wars to hit the
theater five or six years or seven years later after the last one hit. She's no expectations
whatsoever. All she's watching is another episode. That's what this movie is. It's just another
episode. It doesn't really do anything for the lore, doesn't do anything. But if you like the show,
it's an episode. And she's watching it at home. Yeah, and you're watching it at home. You're just
watch it. So I think that she is going to
really wind up digging in. I think some of this I should find stupid, but I
think she'll like it. But we'll see. So our plan
with Sam is to then is to do
Mandalorian season three, finish that up. Then we're
going to get into the Mandalorian Grogo. Then we're going to head back into the
DC EU for a little bit. And then we're going to hop into the X-Men. So when we
when we are in the height of the Kickstarter campaign,
X-Men movies will be on the channel.
Two things. Are you going to do the Asoka fan edit thing at all?
Are you going to wait?
Yes, but that won't, but that won't be until,
because when does it come out, season two?
January, I think it's January.
Is it January?
Yeah.
Okay.
I'll say that, yeah.
All right, so we'll probably do that,
the two of us, we'll probably do that in,
probably in January.
Probably watch it the easiest for us.
It's a one video, so yeah.
All right.
Get out of you.
I don't want to talk to you anymore.
All right.
Fine.
All right. All right. So as I've been telling you guys that this whole week, once again, I don't even think, I don't even think she knows. So I'll give her this update as well when she's watching it from the waiting room. We currently, if you go to the page, currently right now, I'll refresh and we'll see where we're at when I refresh it. When I refresh as of right now, we are at 2,031 followers on the Kickstarter, which is great. Now, I hope we're going to be able to see the top of her car. And I think we will.
And where, see, where is she?
Oh, no, look at that.
Can you, can I hear you?
You can't hear me.
Okay, there's got to be a, so let's say, PLDD, I'm going to.
I can't hear you.
Can you?
Oh, yeah, I can hear, yes.
Yes, I can hear you.
I can hear you.
I can hear you.
So yes on that.
Let's see, can you hear me?
PLD, you can hear me, right?
Yeah, I can hear you.
So you can hear me.
So what happened there?
How do we do this?
I think because this is pretty great though.
This will give me an insight.
Can you take me off the screen?
It's a nice tree.
It was a nice tree.
How about that?
Can you make sure she's using Safari from the phone?
I don't know.
How about now?
No?
No?
All right.
Oh, yeah.
Is she on Safari?
Let me see.
Are you on Safari or Chrome?
This is the inside of our relationship, by the way.
let's see what she
can do because last time it worked.
Maybe, I don't know, maybe take the,
maybe take the headphones out.
Maybe take
try Chrome.
Let's say, let's try again.
Oh, you can hear me now?
Yeah, can you hear me?
Yes.
Look at that.
PLD, say hi to Martini.
Hi, Martini.
Hi, I'm not a total moron.
Just sometimes.
You did it.
You figured it up.
I peeled it out here.
All right.
So,
wait, now I can't hear you.
What happened?
Can you, wait, can you hear us?
Oh my God.
Stay, stay.
Can you hear me now?
You did something and.
I didn't do anything.
Oh, I know what it is.
Hey, I know what it is.
Come back in.
Come back in.
I can't hear you.
Hold on.
This is, we're having that Chris car problem.
Come back in.
Okay.
Bye.
Yeah.
So, Pili, don't, don't jump in.
I'm just going to keep it on a two shot because remember if that's,
it's doing that stupid thing that when I,
move into another. So you know what? I came out. I won't jump to the page and I'll just tell her what the
number is. So that that's so stupid. So dumb. Anyway, all right. So PLT will be he's starring,
now we have her. So he's going to be starting all the questions. So we got her here now,
firing as many questions as possible. Again, super chat's great. Not super chat. Whatever. We're going to,
we're going to fire through everything. So should be able to hear me now, right? Yeah.
took my your phone's out. I know. I know what it was. For some stupid reason, I don't know why it does
this, but every once in a while, if I switch back and forth, that's why I don't want to bring
Peely in here again or show you like the screen, because then it, then you'll, the sound goes off.
It happened to one of my co-hosts once. It's so stupid. I like the shirt. It's stupid.
Hey, thanks. A good shirt. People like the shirt. So, I don't know if you heard me before.
I didn't. We had 2032 people. Oh, my God.
following we hit 2000 today um right look at that so we're pumped and we had a lot of questions i'm wearing
my money shirt today i like that i like that we're doing it's it's going pretty well and i'm pretty
excited about it and and last time you're on we there was we were there was only so much we could
how's it's it's better that's better that's better okay now i can see you yes right hi i um how's it
how's it going so we're um we're pretty excited because we have a lot of good questions from the
I hope it's not, why is my car so dirty?
Please don't ask me that question.
You can't see that.
Now someone will.
Like in the crevices back there.
Oh my God.
Well, let's start with Danny.
Danny says that's appropriate, right?
Streamers passed on Doug Ellen,
the creative entourage, ramble on pilot.
Ever consider shooting the pilot feature length so you can pivot to a movie release if it's picked up?
No.
I mean, I mean, tell me if you agree with me, Martina.
This story is the way we have it all planned out for where they go.
you wouldn't be able to cram that into two hours.
No, no.
This is a, and also it's like a part of a workplace comedy.
Like there's other people and it's their dynamics.
People just want to hang out with every week.
It's not just the Danny Kelly story.
It's not just one story.
It's a whole, it's a world that we want to immerse people in and like have fun in and like just come hang out in every week.
That's what it is.
So I think, I think to me, if there is, because Martina and I've had this conversation many times over that there's so many,
there's so many options now.
It's like, yes, the plan would be wonderful for us to get this pilot shot,
get it to a streaming service that gets our vision, gets a creative idea,
says, yeah, go and do a season of it, let's go.
That'd be great.
But there's also another option of like, you know what?
We have enough feedback.
Wait, was the question whether we were going to do a feature link?
Was that the question?
Yeah, it was.
Oh, okay.
Just make sure I didn't know.
Okay.
Yeah, it was feature.
So, but that's why like having these ideas of just like knowing
that we know where this goes
that's for so long with these characters
of all everybody who's involved.
Oh my God, it's such a long, fun journey.
We've mapped it out.
It's hilarious.
Well, and that kind of follows up here.
Dennis F. Hoffman says,
how far are you guys developing the show?
Ideal setting would be one, one.
Oh, ideal setting would be season one
be a six to eight episode run.
I think, you know, for us, what we've talked about,
we've, I don't know how long that was.
was like two or three days that you and I mapped out the entire like almost like the entire
series which is amazing um but what i've been saying it just ranks itself guys it's true
what i what i've been saying and correct me if i'm wrong if you feel differently but it's too
hard to say whether it'd be a six to eight episode run 10 episode run because we don't know
yet what budget it doesn't it really depends the platform that there's so many moving parts but
the story is great and there and it's really about how it gets packaged and distributed right i i agree
The Cinema Kid, this is for Martini,
what in a comedy show are you most concerned about when it comes to a script,
funny or the story, and you know you can provide the jokes?
I'm very like humor in the pain.
I really like the humor to come from the realness of life
because I think life is hilarious and I don't really focus so much on the jokes.
I think the jokes write themselves when you put yourself in scenarios
with characters that are ridiculous and, like, you know, drama,
is high and yeah, I focus more on relationships
and the humor in the relationships
because I am an observer of life
and I think life is hilarious and ridiculous.
Yeah, and listen, and also,
she's very good at jokes as well and to give her,
her flowers as they say, we really wrote the idea
of it, structured it out,
and then we both would pepper in there.
Many times I'd be like, you know what,
this Kelly, I don't know,
right here, like how this works. Like, I got it. And boom, punches in some jokes here.
And she'd do the same to me. She's like, I need a couple of my favorite. There's one particular
scene. She's like, I need a couple jokes about this from Danny's perspective. Go. And I'm like,
all right. And then I give her like, I don't know what, 10 options or something. And then you take
either one or none of them. Yeah. Which, which is great. So it was a fun process.
Mike Moodra. Here's two questions about our show. Did you get other co-hosts inputs in the script
of the show? And did they produce some of the show? Well, they didn't produce any of the show, but we did.
Roxy gave great feedback.
Steph gave great feedback on the show.
Mike Reddit, Winston read it and gave in Tommy.
So a lot of, most of the hosts read it.
But no, not as far as producers.
Only producers are that outside of the ones that I've mentioned.
Greg Alba, we mentioned because I told Martini,
I really, because Greg wanted to read it and Greg wanted to come on board.
And we just said that's a no-brainer.
Like he already gets it.
Yeah.
Josh Sticks, pilot question.
Do you only want the show to be 30-minute episodes
or would you consider making 45 minutes to an hour episode instead?
And I'll let Martini answer this one.
Well, everyone's yelling at us to do 24-minute episodes.
I think we want shorter.
I think it's like get in, have fun, and get out.
I also think, you know, it leans more comedy than drama,
although it is kind of dramedy-ish for that, if that word,
still use um but it's it's playful and fun and light and um i personally don't think i think once you
start getting uh you know closer to an hour you're getting into more drama and more way more storm
lines and stuff and i think we want to keep the we want to keep it pretty light and fun you know i think
life is hard enough right now let's go hang out and like laugh you know the funeral scene in the
pilot is hilarious
Like, what did you rewrite it?
Richard keeps wanting to put funeral scenes in and more than else.
Right.
But we, look, I think the initial script that I gave Martini was close to 45 minutes to an hour
or close to like a California.
You wrote a drama.
Run more of a drama.
Yeah, there was funny moments in it, but it was more drama-esque.
So that's 30 minutes makes way more sense, especially for what the tone of it is now.
And as I've been saying, like, and I've gone back.
and watched, I'm like midway through season two now of hacks.
It really is hacks with a bare tone with a sprinkle,
with my, I'm saying a sprinkle of California Cation because of me, my thing.
Not that, not the whole show is right.
Christian really loves California Cation.
I do, I do.
Mike Mujah.
What made Martini get on our show and write and what inspired her to be part of our show?
Am I answering that?
Are you answering?
Yeah, no, it's for you.
I can't ask you.
Oh, what, okay, tell me again, I can't read.
So it's both, this is the second question.
It's a two-parter, my ADHD.
Yes.
So it's what inspired you to be part of the show and what made you get on our show and write it,
and then the follow-up is another person asked the same thing.
What about this project made you want to be a part of it?
Oh, you know what?
So we'll start with Mike.
There's a follow-up.
Don't give me so many questions at once.
Sorry, what made you get on our show and write and what inspired you to be part of our show?
I guess the acting side of it, too.
Okay.
came to me telling me that he had wrote this pilot.
And we had done a show together at the comedy store.
And he was like, oh, my God, I didn't even think of this.
You should look at this show that I wrote and maybe give me what you think.
And it was a drama.
It was a drama.
And I saw, I love the world.
I love the podcast world and the idea of these two exes having to be forced to do this podcast together.
And I immediately just see humor in it.
see like, you know, Sam and Diane in Cheers. I just saw moonlighting. I just see all these. I just
love the dynamic of these like exes that hate each other. And I immediately was like, let's turn
this into a half-hour drama and comedy. And this will be hilarious and fun. And Christian and I have
the same exact sense of humor and same sensibility and whatever we make each other laugh. And I can just,
I immediately just saw our dynamic and us creating these characters and bringing them to life. Because
we already have similar dynamics.
It's true.
And it just was like, yes.
Like, this is us and this will be so fun.
And, you know, I just, I just saw it immediately.
And then we just started brainstorming characters.
And we were crying, laughing, like, just cracking each other up.
And we just knew that this was going to be fun.
And I would always love doing anything with Christian, first of all.
We've known each other a long time.
And I could say there's a handful of people where I have the same exact sense of humor that can make me cry laughing.
and he's one of them.
So working with him, I think, is just ideal.
Any opportunity.
So this was kind of like it all kind of came together.
And then being in it, I mean, we were like,
let's do it for ourselves because this is us.
Like these characters are very us.
Our dynamic is so great.
We have so much fun together.
And we were like, let's create this for us.
I mean, I think that was kind of the,
did you have anything to add?
I don't know.
No, well, because it's a follow.
up for you on this one too. So what about this project? You answered that,
be a part of it. What excites you the most about trending?
How hard we laugh when we write it and when we're together. And I just feel like
if we're having fun, everyone else will have fun. You know, we just, I think that's what
excites me the most is that it's fun. It's funny. We laugh. And we're having a blast. And then Andrew,
my seat is moving. Please, please. Do it as you just like, please help the
door by the time it's, at the time the interview is like, we're just talking to the empty
car.
So anyway, yeah, I think it's that.
It's having fun.
See, I know you're ADHD well enough.
You were talking about Andrew.
Thank you.
And Andrew has the same sensibility as us as well.
We all laugh together.
And I think when you find that, you create things because that's magic.
It's true.
And I've told the audience before you came on, I said, as you start to get to know Andrew
more, my impression of him will start to, um,
resonate better with you because it's like, even when,
okay.
And he's like,
he's like, he's so quietly
funny. He's just like, he's one
of those where like, you don't know
what's coming and then it comes and you're like, God damn,
you're brilliant. He's really funny. He's just like,
is it?
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
And I was talking about how
on my couch.
But,
he's got good, like, you know,
he tops up the jokes. Whenever you say something,
He, like, has a little comment in the taste of that level.
Yeah, yeah.
And he's, I mean, there's a, I mean, look, I haven't, all I've told people here,
I was on a live stream when we got the phone call about another announcement that we haven't
made yet.
And I told people that they're going to be excited for it.
I know you and I are very excited for that.
Yes.
And, um, you know, I just feel like when you're making something fun and it just, it grows quickly.
Yeah.
And it's contagious.
Yeah.
I want to say that a lot.
Yeah.
I hope we're going to be saying that a lot for sure.
Let's see, Mike Mujra.
Did PLD have any input on show?
I sent it at PLD as well.
Yeah, PLD was one of the...
So, Martina, I really like this one particular scene that we had in the script.
And it was something that actually happened to me.
It was when Danny's in the car.
And Danny's in the car?
Yes.
And it really happened to me.
And you and I really liked that.
But we kept getting that note from people.
It just, it doesn't fit for where they're going.
And it's not necessary right there.
we both are like we love it but we get it.
I mean, to take it on.
PLD was one of the first people who wrote that.
And he's just like, I like the scene.
It just doesn't work right here.
And I'm like, he's right.
I hate that he's right.
We got great notes.
You have a great,
we got really great notes from every single person you named.
They all had an insight.
It's,
it's, yeah,
you have a really good creative community around you that gave us great feedback.
And it just helped us refine the script more and more and more to it's,
the script is like unrecognizable from when,
from the beginning.
It's just so much tighter.
so strong, like, it's just, it's really fun.
Have I said it's fun?
Yeah, you got a lot of great questions for you.
Mike Moodgers, here's a question for Martini.
Which comedians inspired you and had influenced you to write comedy?
Oh, God, that's such a good one.
I mean, I grew up on Lucille Ball and, like, I love Lucy and Carol Burnett.
Like, I mean, those are the things I grew up on.
So I love physical comedy.
I love wacky comedy.
That's kind of my sweet spot.
So that was always was inspired.
I mean, I grew up, I had, I had VHS tapes of Laurel and Hardy.
So, yeah, that was the only thing I had to put in the DVD, or the VHS players.
So, yeah.
Did you watch, did you used to watch, um, uh, shit, uh, March of the Wooden Soldiers or Christmas?
Which one?
March of the Wooden Soldiers.
No.
Oh, is that, is that a Laurel and Hardy one?
I don't know the names of them.
I'm really, I'm not great with names.
Yeah, yeah.
So it was like the old school.
It was like an old school Christmas movie,
and they go to, like, the land of the boogeyman and stuff, too.
My dad is one.
My dad's favorite, but it's so hilarious.
I love that stuff.
I love that stuff.
I love watching people be really brave with their bodies and, like, put themselves out there and, like,
just be wacky.
I love comedy.
But there's a lot of comedians I love as well, but I'm more, I was more inspired by, like, you know,
S&L and in living color and, you know, more physical, wacky, and appropriate comedy.
You know what's funny is that we never.
really ever said that because we kind of knew it but that's it and then for me it's the stand-up
comedy that was always inspired from me and then for when you balance out what our characters are inside
it's like that's exactly what it is yeah yeah it's true um Blake quick when the show gets a full
season you should do a bit about martini's character cutting the core of your coffee machine because
it's making a mess in the studio so you don't know where this come from um which is actually
pretty funny and I should screenshot that because it's not a bad idea um say
We should have just like an ongoing list of suggestions for one thousand percent.
And that's one of the things we're going to do on the Kickstarter.
You know, that's the beauty of and we'll get into that a little bit more too in just a bit.
But I had this coffee machine that Sadie got me for Christmas a couple years ago and recently was like leaking a little bit, right?
So I put a paper towel or whatever and she's getting sick of it.
She's getting sick of it.
So I came home, she goes, your coffee machine is gone.
I go what?
And she's like, she got a refund at a full year.
They made me cut the cord on it.
I had to cut the cord to show them that I wasn't trying to get a second one for three.
And so I cut it and I threw it out and you're getting another one.
I go, when?
She's like a couple days and I'm like, I'm going to be horrible.
I'm going to be a horrible human being for the next couple of days.
And so the whole debate was what should she have thrown it out and let me know first or I come home to that.
But it is pretty, making a mess in the studio is hilarious.
Like she's like cutting the cord is hilarious.
Cut in a quarter's hilarious.
So what do you cut in the quarters?
We needed proof.
I love that they needed proof.
They need a proof.
Dill the pickle.
Martini.
What is the thing you would say makes your character tick?
How does she operate in the world?
Danny makes her tick.
Anything Danny.
That's what's so great about it.
He drives her effing.
Am I allowed to curse?
He drives her effing nuts.
And, you know, she has a soft spot for him, though,
but she really does hate him
and 99% of the time.
Let's see.
She's a bit of a perfectionist.
So, you know, and a control freak.
So I think things bother her
when they're not in her control.
And I think, which is great
because she's in midlife,
her career is imploding,
everything is out of her control.
So it's funny to watch her kind of deal with it all
and try and cope.
And she's not coping very well,
which adds to the comedy.
And well, the two of them, they both, they both kind of like just want to stick in what they know is comfortable, even though they pretend that they don't.
Yeah. And they can't, and they can't get, they can't get out of it. Yeah. And you're just kind of, you know, at that eight, trying to reinvent your life and, you know, feeling outdated. I, there's so, I mean, it's a lot. It's a lot of layers.
That's true. So our next comment is from our regular commenter, Ron H. And because he writes a lot of sometimes it's just so.
bizarre we like to read his super chats in in Gary Bussey's voice okay so great that's my favorite
martini i just like exclaiming martini thank you ryange all right tia foster
christian what are the locations for the show i wonder what location would become iconic like
central perk from friends i would assume that the studio the pod that the studio would probably once
they get it because you know even even the fact that we talked about at one point they had a really cool
studio but because they just kind of losing
money and sponsorships
left and right that it's like no
figure out I'll find I'll
help finance you guys I think it's just outdated
you know I think it's like you know Christmas lights
on the wall a little dusty a little outdated
you know it's just kind of a funny
it's a little it represents them
you know it represents them being outdated
so but I think yeah I think
the podcast studio is going to be
yeah there's always things going on there's a lot
of people in there there's people in and out
you know it it's an ensemble in a lot of
There's a lot of other characters that are around.
It's a workplace comedy as well.
Like there's chaos.
There's the other characters we have are so funny.
I mean, we laugh.
They just make us laugh.
They're going to be so great and fun to cast.
Oh, my God.
And they just add a whole other layer outside of the Danny and Kelly.
There's so much humor to be had.
These characters are great.
We got our Gen Ziers.
We got our, I mean, we have the millennials.
The generational rifts are and differences are.
a place for comedy. It's just, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's funny. It's funny. Um, let's see,
JD reviews. Does trending of a mockumentary style, just curious based on Freed's background with
non-scripted shows and the promo photo. I mean, the promo that the photos were for the promo for the
Kickstarter thing. And I'll let Andrew answer like directing style and those types of thing. But it, as
Martini said, it's more of like comedy drama things. It's not to say that there's not things inside of
the podcast element or when they're shooting so you could have those types of things.
but the full style of the show is not a mockumentary.
Right. Although we've played with it
about making it and kind of having some potentially
some, you know, behind the scenes footage or interviews
kind of put in. So just for more opportunity for people to comment
on each other, we're kind of figuring that out. I think there is a potential
force, a lot of humor if you kind of lean into that. Also,
with the podcast, like the, you know, young interns are trying to get them to
shoot behind the scenes footage for their social accounts. So that
footage is, you know, when they're capturing,
things around the audience that, I mean, around the office that they probably shouldn't, you know,
and putting it up on social, like there's a whole element of that and them getting, you know,
them, you know, each person talking on camera, I think, I think that adds a whole other element.
So I think there are those pieces in it, yes.
Totally.
And I think there's also a way, like once you get like a website up and stuff too to
to mockumentary type of footage on the site to build the characters and build the
moments, 100%.
Back to Dill.
Dill's got a few.
Question for both you.
If the show gets picked up, what do you all think about a,
bottle episode where you get stuck together in some creative way and it gives you a chance to
reconnect in some way. Well, I won't go too deep into what we have planned for the future because
we have a lot of, like I said, we like six seasons of what, where they go and how they like each other,
don't like each other, yada, yada, that we've, I promise you, like we have it so detailed out.
I think there was like three days that we were just kind of going over that and mapping that out
to know because it helps us and to know where it goes. Yeah. And it's, it's, it, it, it
literally writes itself. It does. Their emotions and their back, their history with each other
creates is fodder for a lot of funny stuff. Yep. Blake, quick, have you thought about keeping
some of your crew in the dark about the show like you do with the audience? You can get genuine
reaction videos of the show. Do you mean as far as the announcements that we're going to make,
or do you mean as far as seeing the show? As far as announcements, I'm not too many people know about
the announcement that we're going to make.
So they'll will be in the dark
until we announce it.
But if you mean the show itself, I mean, they'll probably
be at the premiere of the
ones that we do, you know, and we'll
say there's going to be a lot of opportunities to
do stuff. So we're going to be doing a lot.
Dill, looking back on this stream when our show is funded,
it's going to be hilarious. That's true.
Yes. Ingers crossed.
Yep. Greenie from Oz. As you did
rewrites on the script, did you have
to change much things,
technology wise.
Like how tech is always
innovating? Well, I mean, for me,
yes, because as Martini
said, the script was dramatically different,
literally, from when I gave it to her.
It was the bare bones of it.
Her name wasn't even Kelly
at the time. So like,
Danny was really the only one that kind of survived
the whole blowup,
minus the fact that he's a podcaster
and an ex-comedian, right?
So we also had to change the way because and then when I wrote it initially, he was late 30s or mid 30s, I think.
So it was a very, now he's old.
Now he's old.
But it was a different, it was a different time.
It was also different of think about how much has happened in podcasting from 2015 to 226 and how impactful it's been.
And so all that stuff and these other things.
things and jokes of relevancy, that didn't really ever change because it was new.
I think also layering in the Gen Z experts because Gen Z knows so much more than we do.
So they come in and they're like kind of telling the old guys what to do and we're like,
ah, what is us?
You know, what are the kids doing these things?
So I think that adds a whole, I think that's the new technology layer that we kind of
of thing.
Well, TikTok wasn't even a thing when I wrote.
Right, right.
And doing like behind the scenes footage and all this social.
And that's the whole point.
It's like we like where does content end in your life?
Like that's why like all of a sudden they're filming them all the time for this behind the scenes.
But like get out of my face.
Like I don't want.
Why is this content?
This is my life.
But like,
drama makes,
you know,
good content.
So it's like I think I think that's the biggest difference is the fact that,
um,
we're filming our lives for content for social.
Yeah.
It's not just a podcast where they turn on a mic,
then turn it off.
Like you're on.
You're in it.
All this footage of your life is being used.
Yeah.
Real docs productions.
Do you set time for writing, for trending, or do you write when you can?
Well, when we were writing the pilot, we definitely set time aside.
We had writing meetings.
We made sure we took block of time to make sure that.
I mean, there were times I took shows off to make sure that when Martini was available at one point.
I'd like, okay, we do it.
And she did the same thing.
She maneuvered around her schedule to make sure that we could do it.
But we both agree, like right now, we're both available.
She's available to do stuff like this.
to make sure that people know what we're doing.
But for the writing moving forward,
we want to see, well, where are we after October 22nd?
Like, where are we?
I mean, because, like, I've been saying this, like,
look, in a world where you guys are like, listen,
we're making that you guys are not only going to make this show,
you're going to make the series,
and we break the guilds record when we come out.
And then Andrew's like, all right, well, what are we doing?
Let's just make the series, and then we pitch the series.
Or we do what we needed to do.
We get the pilot done.
We, we, and we, when we do that.
But we'll figure it out as far as, you know, in general, when we're going to,
when we're going to write some more episodes when we can.
And we're going to get a writer's room, hopefully, too.
Yeah.
Josh sticks.
I think six to eight episodes too short for 30 minute episodes.
That all depends on budget, right?
Because if, you know, if they go, hey, you have X amount to make this.
How many can you make?
You go six.
You get, whoa, that?
We can make 10.
I think that we, but, but,
The beauty of it is I think we have enough written and an understanding where it goes that we'd be able to do six.
We'd be able to do eight.
We'd be able to do 10.
Did you agree with that?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
We can do it all, guys.
Yes.
Joseph, Ashley, will there be crazy scenarios like maybe you dissed a homeless person you insulted
when you went back to your car?
It was poop smearing your car door and your front window may leave for a date?
Oh, well, that never really happened to me.
But when I said, I did step in shit one time right before.
a date in college, that was the worst.
It was the worst.
I was scraping it all over the complex.
It was horrible.
It was horrible.
And you know you smell like shit.
It didn't matter how much you wiped off.
I watched it off of the side, but the first thing
it did is roll the windows down on both sides.
And I'm like, it was atrocious.
But no, I don't know about that.
Greeny from Oz, you'd want to align the story with episode
numbers to you can episodes on Cliffhanger.
Sure, 100%.
Mike Mujer, how did you a martini meet?
you want to answer that uh we i dated christian's roommate
25 years ago and then we saw a movie and we went to the we went to anchorman yeah the screening
of anchorman right and that's when we found out that i found out that christian does stand-up
and i was doing stand-up and then he was like why don't you come be on my show and then i started
doing your shows.
And then, and then, uh, I introduced you.
I introduced you the guy who was booking the shows because I was.
Right, right, right, right, right.
And then, and then I started to get booked on those shows.
Yeah.
And then we did stand up together for a little bit.
And then you started having other shows, too.
And then, um, and then Christian, I introduced me to my now husband.
And once I met him, I kind of disappeared.
That's true.
I'm like, and I told people this before.
So right now on, on the channel on the home page,
page of this channel, I put my
Grasping of Strauss pilot up, and
I was with Eliza Slesinger, and it just hit a 40,000
views, which is pretty great, considering, you know,
almost 20 years later. But
when I told this last time, Martini was on,
I actually wrote that part of Marley
for Martini, and then
she moved out of town, and then I had to audition
people for that role, and, you know, we were
And Eliza did a much better job, let's be honest.
She was great at that character. She was great.
She was absolutely great. It would have been a different character.
It wouldn't have been, yeah. Yeah, it just would
No, she was great.
Saul, how detailed were all those people's voice notes?
You know what?
And it was a very subtle way of saying Saul,
because Saul also read it and gave me some great,
great notes as well too.
But he had a 50-minute voice note I listened to.
It was longer than the godfather.
Mike Woodrow's, what was the best part of making and creating our show?
I think laughing together.
Yeah, working and laughing together.
We would get the places where we would be like,
what if he does this?
and we would both be crying, laughing,
and we were right it in there, write it in there.
And then there were times, like,
when we had to lose a certain thing,
we were like, oh, but then there were other times,
like, all right, that hit the way we wanted it to.
So that was, it was almost like testing out standup bits and doing it.
That's it.
Yeah.
I think that's what's so fun about when we work together.
I mean, we're just literally doing standup bits together.
Yeah.
Casey, 30 minute episodes are stronger with comedies.
Agreed.
Go pal, thank you, go pal,
gifted five memberships.
That's very nice.
Oh, Michael D.
Will each episode title have a hashtag like hashtag trending or no?
I think it should.
I think that's kind of part of the...
I think so too.
I think the hashtag thing, I mean, as dated as hashtags are, I think we should still use them.
And I think it's kind of funny for like the Gen Xers to still be using hashtags.
Yeah, sure.
Mike Moodra, what movies does Martini like watching?
Oh my gosh.
I love anything that's like a biopic that's based on like truth because I believe it.
Like I think it's the real thing.
Like I'll walk out and like, I did not really.
realize World War II happened like that.
And Adam will be like, that's still
fictionalized. I'm like, oh,
okay. They're like documentaries
to me. I'm always blown away
about it. So I do love any sort
of like anything based on
history. History.
And obviously comedies. I mean, I
I'm sad. I feel like there's not as many
comedies as it used to be. I miss all the stupid
comedies for sure.
And I like the longer
dramas. I just fall asleep.
That's fair. Here's a one too.
Mike Rios, can I show have a fart joke in it and be considered classy?
Yes.
Absolutely.
You're asking us.
And then follows up by it.
Since Christian lists fart jokes, is there more fart jokes than the pilot?
There are, I don't think there are any fart jokes.
I don't think there are any fart jokes, but we're open.
I mean, I'm a fan.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I mean, there might be something or, you know, a real serious situation where, you know,
you're going to save them.
You can't, you can't abuse them.
Those are saved for, like, real special moments.
Double whammy here from Sam.
Red Carpet Talks says, Martini, I'm curious what your taste and humor is outside of the script.
What's your favorite comedy movie and sitcom and who are your comedic influences?
She did give the comedic influence already.
So, yeah.
I mean, shows that I love that make me love, Hacks makes me laugh.
Let's see.
I'm trying to think, I mean, the movie with Tom Hanks Money Pit was my favorite movie growing up.
You know, anything with anything ridiculous is kind of up my alley.
I'm trying to think.
have an old lady brain, so let me think.
What was the question?
What's your taste in humor outside of the script?
Oh, I mean, I love cheers.
I'm a classic comedy kind of gal.
I love old school comedies.
Well, she follows this up.
Yeah, go ahead.
I liked Platonic.
I thought Platonic was funny.
What else is?
What's more recent now?
I love Survival of the Thickest.
I think Michelle Boutot.
She's hilarious.
What else? What other sitcoms are there? Tell me something.
People to give us a list. Don't jump in, though, because if you jump in here, then
then you might lose her sound. But she follows it up. Do you ever feel as if the comedy space is
sometimes a sausage party with certain jokes that simply just don't click for you?
100%. Absolutely. No, I, that's why it's really rare for me to laugh watching a comedy.
I'm not going to lie. You got to really surprise me. And after hearing, there's a lot of cheap jokes.
and there's a lot of jokes that aren't earned.
I really, again, back to like,
I believe comedy comes from the relationships
and the scenario.
And I like relationships.
I like drama.
I just like the humor coming from her hating him,
not from just a funny joke in the moment.
You know, I really think that's where,
that's what makes me laugh is when I can relate to it.
And it feels human.
I think that's where the real funny is for me.
Great.
Ron H.
Martini, our community like Roca is getting harder.
I myself, am a plant-infused, dancing, Asian-prone to trouble.
I hope you're cool with it.
I'm cool with anything.
You're going to learn real fast.
I'm good with...
You are.
Yeah, I'm good with everything.
You are.
I mean, is there anything I'm not good with, Christian, no?
No, not really.
You're pretty good with...
I mean, yeah, there's not...
You can't offend me, that's true.
No, that's very true.
I mean, like, if I'm, if I'm, because look, Danny says some stuff.
And we both had to say like, you know, okay, do we think that's okay?
And what other people think that's okay?
But do we not care?
Because he doesn't give a shit either.
Yeah, I think, I think if anything, Christian and I are on the end of the spectrum of
appropriateness.
So we always have to be like, how inappropriate is those?
Right.
We need other people that's also.
Yeah.
I think we, Joseph said, how would you describe your character?
I think you described that before.
And are you different from the character that you're playing?
Yes, yeah. I'm not as uptight. I'm not as controlling.
Well, we actually laughed about this yesterday. We're on the phone. And I said, like, you know, there's, we'll both, we can scrap.
Oh, yeah. But we come back.
Like brother and sister. We are very brother and sister. We come back in the middle and go, oh, wait a minute, I see your point there. Actually, does that work? And like, yeah, you know what?
That works. No, that's you. I'll tell you something like, no, blah, blah, blah. And then like,
are you kidding me? You do the same freaking thing. Even, even two days ago. Stop this.
The cinema kid. Were there times when you just talked and recorded?
When I wanted to bring Christian's neck? Yes. Is that what the question says?
Yes. Were there times when you talked and recorded knowing the prompt of the conversation to then find
deeper the truths? Oh, like, just having, like, improvising the scene so we can kind of get to their...
Yeah, we did do that. Yeah, we did do that.
We did that. We did a bunch of things.
We did a lot of that. Yeah.
Yeah, we did stuff where we like reacted to things as the characters and things.
It was fun. It was fun. Nerd Virgin. Hey, what's up? Martini?
Christian said he was watching some Bruce Willis and Moonlighting for some inspiration.
Are there any characters that you're drawing inspiration for Kelly?
Oh, that's a good question, actually.
I wasn't, but that's a good question as to who she would be similar to.
I don't know, Christian.
you think of that? I think there's like a, there's definitely a Diane. Yeah. Oh, absolutely.
I think she's Diane mixed with a little Kirstie Alley there. She's both. She's got like a hundred.
That's actually a really good call. She's kind of both of those. She's both. She's got both elements of both. Yeah, I think that's kind of a good mix.
Yeah, I think so. And because that I would say she's not really the civil shepherd.
No. The only, the only thing that is just kind of the intention of what she wants to do as opposed to what he wants to do and that he can,
piss her off a little bit just by kind of prompting, but she said she's funnier, she's wackier,
way goofier than double-shed. Yeah, yeah, yeah, sure, 100%. Ron H. Martini, shaking, not stirred,
why not cosmopolitan? Always dirty, first of all.
Extra dirty. Yeah. Yeah, that's extra dirty, always.
Page, Martini, I video chat with Christian, and my birthday is the 26th of September,
and I am manifesting this fully funded show. You have a.
special aura of joy and you also take no crap. I love this.
Oh.
Page is the coolest.
Page is the coolest.
We're all manifesting together, guys.
Yeah, pages of the cool. She's been super supportive of this and everybody is like really,
really kind of leading the charge. It's been great.
Love it. Is it say page 79?
Yes.
Yay, 79.
I got our Jen Exers here.
Right. Walker Dark, 6012.
She actually talked about that in the video chat about the Gen Xers and I said she's going
to be very happy.
Martini, hi, what do you enjoy doing more? Writing or acting or a balanced mix?
That's a really good question. I really like both separately. I love writing. I love like,
my imagination loves to run and I love being by myself sometimes and just kind of like, you know, imagining it and coming up with things.
And also I love collaborating and like laughing with Christian, but I also love performing. I love, I'm an idiot inside and out.
And so I just love being ridiculous and big.
I think it's fun.
And I love spreading that energy because, you know, it's again, it's contagious.
I sound like a life coach.
Right.
It's contagious.
When you have fun, everyone has fun.
And I love when everyone's having fun.
Well, I think it is also contagious.
And you've been contagious on this because already we have 2043 followers now since you've joined.
So how about that?
No, I think it was more than 2014.
I think it was in the 30s when you came in, wasn't it?
What I say 40?
It's my shirt.
Let me see. I'm going to bring, I'm putting that, I'm putting the link in there again.
Our show is trending.com.
See how many people see if we can at least get to 2050 by the time Martini gets out of.
Martini, have you ever seen the Laurel and Hardy film with the horse on the piano?
Of course.
Yeah.
There you go.
Nerd virgin.
That's like a classic.
Yeah. Mariska Hargatay is Martini's no nonsense sister in our show.
You can see that.
I always thought, I always thought, Carrie Ann Moss.
Oh.
would be good.
Oh, yeah, she's great.
Those are all very, I'm honored.
I'm like, don't let me get too close to the camera.
That will change.
It's me, Steve-o.
Congrats on everything.
I want to show support for the show on the October 8th.
Does that meet and greet and exclude the show as well?
It does.
Long-time fan came out.
So I'm, thank you for asking.
So, you know, I don't know if I told you this, Martin.
On October 8th, me and Ellis and Jen Sturger are doing a stand-up show in Long Island.
What?
Yeah.
And so on the 8th, and there is a meet and greet involved.
Is it your birthday?
No, the first is my birthday.
Okay.
So, I knew it.
Yeah, Joey Pedrus, burning question.
Will there be a theme song?
We haven't really discussed that yet, but I think that goes back in, it goes back into the money side of it.
And it also goes into the creative with Freed because it's like, does it, because they don't really do things like that in in shows anymore.
It's more like a flash of a screen, something real, you know, like maybe like a guitar riff or something.
But you guys got to donate a lot of money because,
Christian's music taste.
We're going to be, we're going to be,
music cues are very expensive.
Yeah, we're going to be, I told them that.
But also, it is a vibe.
Like, it would be so great if we had enough money to do it that way,
because it just makes the world so good, yeah.
You know, it's funny is because someone said,
what I could do regardless of, is that at a certain point,
and I think we're talking about this, Craig,
is that what you will unlock,
if we hit X amount by this,
is my entire playlist for what I write to on trending.
and the songs I'd love to see like
Yeah, you need to say that
Like just to the hero and we'll unlock a little more
We can out this song
I have so many different songs in there too
And there's so many it's so many
It's so good
From run the MC to whatever it is
Yeah, it's a wooly bully
It's a woolly bully, bully
You know someone did say by this
That one is so perfect in that moment
It's so perfect in the moment
And so my
Someone brought this up and said that his band does it
It's a hell of a lot cheaper
When you do a cover of those songs.
Are you?
allowed to do covers?
Yeah.
Oh, then yes.
I think we should have to do a cover of woolly bullet.
That would be hilarious.
But the end song though,
Martini, the end song.
Oh, it's.
Like that's,
that's,
that's,
that's the one that has,
the money has to be spent on.
Because it has to be.
Oh,
guys.
All right.
So,
we did that.
Thank you.
Burning question.
We did that one,
too.
Nerd virgin,
Martini,
when you dated Christians' roommate,
how much is their apartment smell like fart?
It wasn't,
it was the small of ours.
Oh,
my God. Farts, dog. I mean, it was...
You love that dog, though.
Oh, my God, that pug, we're so good.
Taz, yeah. It was, uh, it was, it was a due department for sure. Yeah, I mean, you know,
there was no, there was no AC in there. It was pretty, it was pretty, it was pretty, you know,
Josh Stakes. What percent comedy versus drama is this? This, this is the perfect summary of
our, of Martinez's relationship. Christian has made it sound more like 50-50. Martini
makes it sound like 75, 25.
I'm always pushing for more comedy and Christian is always pushing for more, you know, like,
grounded?
No, more relationship.
All right, yeah.
No, not relationship.
More so, no.
I just wanted to be, like I said, I lean towards the bare aspect.
You learn for like, yes, that's actually pretty true.
And I'll tell you because I'm more, I have a little bit more knowledge of hacks now than I did,
even when we started writing this.
And I absolutely see it.
And I think that that's the, and I said to myself as I was watching,
I've always trust Martini when it comes to this stuff.
And I was watching more and I go, okay, if we went for the vibe of like what,
because hacks to me is a good balance.
Also, like, I think Fleabag, I know it's a female show, but like, flea bag, I mean,
flea back's really funny too.
And, but like in a grounded way, it's in the scenarios, you know, they're not like yuck,
yuck, yuck.
Yeah, right, right, right.
No, absolutely not.
Mike Moodra, is there anything you and Martine learned about yourself while writing our show?
I'm more of a control freak than I thought.
You just said you weren't a control freak.
I'm discovering it, guys.
It's a new thing for me to realize that.
It's like therapy.
How old I am?
I have found out that I am, I, if someone brings a note, it's very easy for me to say, I can lose that.
It's fine.
To lose the note.
Oh, yeah.
I learned, I was kidding.
Oh, oh, you're funny.
I thought, you know, something I did learn about myself, though, is that I, I shouldn't say this.
Never mind.
Okay. All right. We'll keep that for us.
Quentin Louie, as far as the posters go, any size of what size the poster might be?
Just curious, since I have a signed poster collection, I definitely want to add to the poster for our show.
What size do you need?
I know. Well, I think so. And that's a Craig question. We'll bring Craig back on what I want to do at some point now that, because I think last time what team is on.
You should do a little focus group where like, you know, what size, what do you want?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. But what I want to do.
Yes, we should. And what I haven't done yet, because the last time our team was on
we had announced freed i don't know if craig was announced last time so next time we do like we do
one i want to do a stream with martini with andrew with crag at the same time and then if anybody else
who knows anybody else is going to be anybody anybody else anybody else who else is around hey
mike mudra how much of the show is improv well i mean we haven't shot it yet we we we are those
people though so i think you know as christian said well just put something on the page we'll improvise it
and i'm like well we do need a script um so i think that will naturally come when we're shooting for sure
greeny from oz what type of podcast do they do in the show well he has a show that's similar to um you know
just talking to people interviews those types of thing and he was he he came up during the kind of
corolla side of of podcasting and and and hit pretty big at one moment
point but he's just kind of becoming a dinosaur and how things are made so he does something she doesn't
do a podcast she's trying to get her film career and stuff back on track and it's in the dumps yeah it's in the
shits for both their careers are in the shits and then so their stuff that it's it's conversational
what they wind up doing together but that's that would be you know farther on down the line um Lazarus
how do you guys keep negative thoughts from overwhelming you both it's a good question what kind of negative
if that's like um like imposter syndrome i don't know i don't know what it is but in general but i i think
martini's actually really good at that about even when we say things along the lines of i'm on the
phone with her i'm like i you know so when we do this she's no no no we've already done this it's
happened this and and she's like she's big on that stuff and i am too but she she kind of puts me into
that mindset of and i think that it has helped tremendously with certain things that have
already happened with the show that i've said to myself that i knew that they were going to happen
already i knew that they did happen already i mean yeah
I'm going to let you guys know something about me.
I'm a little woo-woo.
And I definitely have a way of thinking, which is number one, you need to know your destination
and see what you ultimately want to exist.
And you kind of keep that into your mind and don't let doubts come in, you know.
And then you make yourself a magnet for it.
So if you're thinking as that kind of, I was talking to someone the other day, it's like,
have an alter ego for the person that you want to be, right?
So if it is the person who's in this show, like that's maybe create an alter ego for whoever
it is that you want to become that has all the things you want and then think and act like that person.
Like I think that's kind of make yourself a magnet for those kinds of things.
I really do in my life.
I've really tried a lot of that stuff.
And it is, it's wonky how well it works.
It's true.
Red carpet.
So really quick, but I do, when negative thoughts come, I do replace them really quickly.
and like that you know I replace it with the thought that I want pretty quickly yeah yeah agreed
I had a therapist who used to do that to me I'd be like having a really hard day she's like
you're challenged and you know you're stepping up to the challenge right so don't put the negative
stuff out there I get it I don't know if I asked about the dynamic between the kids and the parents
is the former SNL star ex-wife mom a mom of the kids or someone else the mom she's the mom she's the mom she has
She has one kid.
One kid.
She has one kid.
And she's a teenager, which is fun.
Yeah, and Martini mentioned that earlier, too, where this really is an ensemble.
Like, I, the more and more I think about stuff, too, and, you know, Martini and I have discussed this.
And you're going to see her go through some stuff if we get the seasons they want.
And, like, she's going to be such a strong character and such a big character for the show.
Like, the daughter.
The daughter.
Oh, yeah.
We have such great characters.
It is an ensemble.
And the other characters are.
So great.
Yeah.
And interesting.
This is a great comment.
What?
I hope the show doesn't get annoying, like Tony and Angela getting together, like, who's
the boss?
That didn't he pissed me out.
Oh, God.
It's great.
That is hilarious that that happened, by the way.
So good.
Joey Peders, how has doing this show and other shows inform the approach to writing and planning
the project?
I imagine you learn a lot of what not to do and overseeing what has worked or not talking
about over years.
For sure.
I mean, look, she mentioned it earlier.
Our initial thought was, hey, let's write something together, shoot something, you know,
we'll do it for whatever and we'll put some people in it and we'll just, we'll just shoot
something, put it on the YouTube channel. And then we wrote it and we're like, we think this is pretty
good. And then we'll, and I said, you know, I can try to get it to Andrews because I trust you.
You think he's, you know, he's going to respond to it. He will get it. Yeah. And he got it quick.
And once Andrew got involved, it just became a, a different thing, you know, and you started to see
like how, wait a minute, we can really do it like this. We can go out to this person. We can do
that, that thing. And so just working with him and working with boardwalk and watching that process,
that's opened my mind up to a lot of stuff. Did you freeze? No, you didn't. No, I was reading,
I was trying to read the question on my glasses. Okay. I was focusing. Um, yeah, I'm sorry.
I went more into the planning side of it. Yeah, I was like, I don't know if you're answering that
question. I went into the planning side, planning the project. Okay. What about the writing? I mean, the writing
sign? I mean, I think that, you know, it's not easy, and this is easier said than done,
is that you have to find people that, A, you creatively work well together. And then the other
side of it is if you get enough traction on something that you've got to be able to have a business
partnership together as well, because then we've, we've just been, I've had that now twice in my life.
I've had that with martini and I've had that with Mark Ellis. I've had very good luck in being able to
match up on both because you can have one and not have the other.
and then it just can't then it won't work.
I think also another big thing to for any of this to work and if you're working on your
own projects is getting over imposter syndrome.
I think that's one of like the biggest elements that probably Christian and I have had in our
lives a lot at different moments.
And I think maybe it's age or whatever, but we just kind of don't care anymore.
And that's probably why we're able to get this done because we're like whatever.
But I think, look,
back at my younger self or like as me starting a project or working on something, I think
getting working on figuring out how to get over any sort of imposter syndrome because no one,
no one cares and like just you need to like just believe in whatever you're doing and know that
it just takes one person to get it, you know.
Never lose your.
I don't think that answered the question at all, but.
I think it does.
Do the jump scares like you do with Sam, keep it going.
If we're, if we're on set, when when we're on set, um,
If you scare me on set, I will literally, I'm one of the, I'm one of these people who would go into a haunted house.
And when they would scare me, I would like pull their hair because it's like, because it would scare me so much like my head would like hurt them.
Have you seen the videos?
I'm like, ah!
Have you seen the videos what I did?
Yes, I will harm you, Christian.
I go, Hachia.
Christian, you're going to get hurt.
If you scare me, you're accidentally get hurt.
All right.
Well, I can't promise that I'm not going to do it.
Not on purpose.
Dill, I'm not sure if you've heard of it, but our show seems to be a little like,
Brockmeyer. I don't know Brockmire. Would it be cool to look at that show and see what did work or didn't?
I don't know Brockmire. You know? No, I haven't heard of it. They'll look into it. Ron H.
K.H. Once the show starts and it will start, you could have a running pole of will they end up together or not.
We can see it go up or down season to season trending together or not. Futag, Hami, who?
That voice. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, that's definitely a, once you
get the potential pilot up there.
I mean, that's always going to be a question for that type of stuff, right?
Because someone asked yesterday, I can't remember what it was.
And he said, you know, at the end of this, in the series, at the end, do you know if they,
I'll have to watch?
And I said, we know.
We know.
I said, we know.
But you'll have it all mapped out.
We do.
It's so fun.
Yeah, it really is.
Does your character have any peaceful moments and quirks?
Definitely.
He likes to be by himself, but pretends that he doesn't.
Like, maybe you, or the opposite.
it. You like, I mean, your character is very likable. Yeah, but he's, but he's also can be extremely,
you can get pissed off at him really. A hundred percent, but he's still vulnerable. I think, um,
we've, we've written him and that he's got a lot of issues that he's working on, you know.
It's like, it's like the, it's like the, you know, he's hiding a soft person underneath all that.
Yes. You remember Lu Santini, right? Yeah, of course. So Lou used to have a joke that was, it's such a
great, like, representation of like Danny, right, to where he's like, when you first start
dating and you're dating your lady and you're dating and you say, and she's like, oh, you're so
funny, you're so funny.
And then after about six months together, seven months together, the same exact joke, you do it again,
she goes, everything's a joke to you.
And that's him.
Like, that's him.
Like, it's just, yeah, Josh sticks.
I was thinking they'll definitely get remarried in the show's finale.
You have to see.
you have to say.
Blaine, the comedic chemistry between Shane and Steve is why I love tires.
I can already see that chemistry of Martini and Christian.
I mean, that's what we're like, so we're working on this video for the Kickstarter.
And again, we both agree with it, but martini's been very adamant to which I agree.
It's like you have to show the dynamic between us and you have to show the comments,
a lot of people know, as for friends to know what they're getting themselves into.
And I said, I agree.
Mike, sorry this was mentioned.
what does Martini do for a living?
I'm a comedian.
Yeah, she's a comedian.
That's what she does.
Well, I mean, I took a break to be a mom for a really long time.
Yeah, but she's pretty...
I was a writer.
Yeah, she's doing some stuff right now that she's a comedian.
Blake, quick, when I said keeping your crew in the dark, if you get a full season, they can do a reaction video.
Yeah, we've kind of tough, though, not to have them kind of watch.
I mean, if I get maybe early copies, for sure, 100%.
Martini, what small things will probably create an argument with your
character. Toilipaper over and under, leaving
empty milk container in the fridge.
Oh, the milk container. Someone drinking from the milk
straight from the milk container. That would drive her nuts.
Yes, it would. Yeah, and he would do that.
Ron H. Ron Burgundy.
He does so many things that Trevor.
Totally. Ron Burgundy brought you two together.
K.H.U. Sex Panther.
60% of the time it works every time.
Another Ron affected your lives. Rons are awesome.
Thank you.
Martin.
You're like a collection of all of his.
That's like a book.
We would be here for four years.
Martini, you're part of my Odyssey.
Watch Hollywood.
He tries to,
oh, so he tries to get everybody to watch Hollywood.
And they actually,
oh,
see,
I would show a picture,
but I'm afraid I'd lose your sound.
So I'm not going to do it.
They made it,
so there's a picture where you're hitting me with a sandal.
Okay.
And then it's basically,
they turned it into Ron saying,
watch Hollywood.
Me going, no.
Yeah.
Sam,
Tony was an unconventional biopic that surprised and made me laugh.
I guess it's dark comedy.
Have you seen yet?
No, I haven't.
What's that one?
It's the one about Tony, Anthony Bourdain.
Oh, I want to see it.
That's right up my alley.
I love that kind of stuff.
And I love Anthony Bordane.
Well, geez, this is going to be a tough one for heard of you.
Martini, rate these sitcoms.
Happy Days, Morg and Mindy, Boy Meets World, Full House, Gilligan's Island.
Oh, my goodness.
Morgan Mindy, 100%, number one.
Gilligan's Island, two.
I grew up, I love happy days.
I used to watch all those reruns.
I love happy days.
And then I'm going to go full house and then boy meets world only because of my age.
I didn't really watch Boy Meets World.
Full House for sure.
All right.
How about this?
Greening for Mous.
How many locations you got in mind for the show?
I'm trying to think like, I mean, I'm trying to think I'm how many I can.
One, two, but just if there's in the front of the house in the back of that, that's just one location.
Yeah.
I think that podcast.
In interior and exterior is one.
Three, four, five.
I say between maybe five, maybe five.
Because there's also where we first meet your character.
Oh, right, right, right, right.
Okay.
I'm sorry I said question last time.
I didn't throw in the question.
I brought up better things to say.
Do you have enough jokes in the chamber so your show doesn't turn into a drama because of deadlines?
Oh, yeah.
I mean, that's the beauty of us.
That's what you get with us.
Everything's a joke to us.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It take nothing seriously.
I mean, childhood, I laughed all the way through childhood trauma, so everything's hilarious.
Do you have any, do you do any impressions?
Me?
Yeah.
No, but I do this one thing.
Can I do it?
Yeah, sure.
Daddy, Daddy, get me out of here.
I'm stuck inside.
I can't get on.
It's the one thing I can do.
I've never seen that before.
Yeah.
That's fucking crazy.
I used to be my bar trick.
That's crazy.
I've never seen that before.
That might be able to turn into a short.
Wow.
If I could bring them on screen right now, I can't do it.
But if I could bring him on, he can't believe it.
Isn't that crazy?
Yes.
It's so creepy.
I used to do it when I was pregnant and people would be old.
That is awesome.
Oh, that's so good.
Wow, that's insane.
In terms of impressions, I'm not a, I can do them.
I have to practice them.
I can do them, but I think if you worked on them, you could.
I have a couple that I can do.
I just haven't.
They're just rusty.
Yeah.
Sean McCabe.
Sean's the best.
Happy Friday, guys.
Hang tough, brother.
This Kickstarter's going to kick ass.
Very excited for you and Martini.
Much love with the McCabe family.
Thank you, Sean.
Thank you.
I really,
really appreciate that.
You guys,
and I really appreciate it.
Jay, did we hit,
they're really good.
Did we hit the Kickstarter goal yet?
Well, the goal today,
before Martini says,
bye-bye,
was my shirt powerful enough?
Maybe.
We're at 2046.
So we need about four more
to hit 2050 go guys let's do it uh sol alexa text david b and ask him if he could do a cover of woolly
yeah we should we probably should arigo i'm excited for days of thunder two but i hope it doesn't use the
same stories the storyline is f1 it sounds like there's a lot in there i agree with you there's a number of
race car movies in the past that used uh that saying storyline is f1 yeah it it it did even the synopsis
seems very similar i i couldn't agree more thank you for that um that kind uh donation by the way
Haskell. Hi, and welcome back, Martini.
What's up, Christian?
So far during this process, was there something that you both thought was going to be hard, but it was easy?
Or something that was easy, something easy that was harder than expected.
That's a good question.
I'm going to say the reaction to the script, to be honest.
The reactions that we've gotten to the script were so instant and so great that we were kind of like, oh, okay.
I thought we're going to have to make a lot more notes to the story.
Yeah, or just, I thought I was going to, you know, I thought we were just going to be on our own.
Right.
Right.
No, this is great.
You're like, oh, okay, great.
Right.
As far as, was there something you thought was going to be hard, but was easy?
Yeah, that, and we won't have that luck for the whole series, I'm sure, but we, but that for the pilot is.
No.
Not only for the whole series, we're going to be able, I mean, I'm not saying we won't come up with ideas and everything, too, but we're not always, I don't say, I was going to be like, yeah, it's great, go for it.
It's good.
We're going to have, and I hope that it doesn't happen.
I want to have collective input, especially with a team that we're going to
gathering. Something that was harder than expected. I think that that's going to, yes, yes,
absolutely. I think that's living in different cities. That, yeah, but that, that, that we knew was
going to be a little tougher. But no, you know, it was harder for me, was before we really decided
on going with Kickstarter building. We were, we wanted to go last year and be doing this. Yeah.
The script's been done. We wanted to go. It was building towards it because none of us really
had done this before. But once we brought Craig on board, it just,
win.
And Craig is a superstar.
He's the best.
I love him.
I love him.
We were so lost.
And then he came in and like just figured it out for us.
I've done this before.
This is what we need to do.
Let's go this way.
And he's,
he's a master at it.
I think that's it.
I think that's what's hard about it.
As a creative person, you have to know all these crazy things now to get projects
made.
Right.
Like you have to know Kickstarter.
You have to know how to market yourself.
You have to do all this stuff.
And you're like, I just want to write and be funny.
And he's like, I got it.
Yeah.
And to bring in people who can come and
do those things for you, I think is an unlock.
100%.
He's, he's great.
He's made my life so much easier.
Aosha, Yomatsu, even if you only make one for me, I need a damn beanie with the logo for
the show.
Oh, a beanie.
That's a good idea.
Write it down.
PLD, can you write that down?
The beanie.
That's smart.
Thank you.
Armada.
The pilot gets made and everything works.
When would the show likely come out?
Well, that's a different.
That's phase two.
Well, here's the answer to that for you if you back it, right?
So the answer is, if it gets made and he works out.
As far as shooting it, Andrew answered this question on the show when he was on,
so I'm not speaking out of turn.
He said he'd like to shoot it either December, January.
So that's the answer as far as shooting it.
As far as it coming out, well, you'd have to, depending on what we did,
if we shot the pilot like we're aiming for, then the next step is then to start to ship it to streamers and see who bites.
if you shoot, if you're able to erase enough to shoot the series,
well then you start going to production in the series.
However,
I think that when it comes to the pilot itself,
whether it's Vimeo or whatever it is,
backers are going to be able to see it.
Backers get to see it.
So the likely come out is when it's done
and it's ready for backers to see,
then you'll see it.
Yeah.
How long did it come,
how long did it take you to come with the show idea?
It came from a podcast that,
that I did with when Bonnie was on.
I talked about this.
Like the idea was,
it was we were playing into a bit.
And I've told you this,
Martinez,
that people,
like I dated an actress at one point,
but they thought it was Bonnie.
And then we played into it.
And she came in and we,
and we just heightened it up and went further and further.
And I said,
how crazy would that be if you really actually had to do that week and week out?
And I'm like,
oh, wait a minute.
And then I started to start to formulate.
And that's where I came from.
Oh, my God.
It's such good.
mention.
Joseph.
Martina,
have you watched
FBI on CBS?
You looked like
Alana de la Carza.
I don't know her.
I don't know her.
Joseph also says,
do you like working girls
Broad City?
Oh, yeah.
Thank you for thinking of things
because my brain forgets, but yes.
Nerd virgin.
Christian, you definitely put a
what happened cashier joke in the pilot, right?
I have one of my old
stand-up bits in the pilot,
but not that's not,
this is a normal one.
newer one that haven't done. I probably will do on October 8th, by the way. But did I tell you this,
Martinez? This is what happened thing? Oh, we have to put it in there because it just, I was at,
it's happened to me so many times. It's a millennial. It's a Gen Z thing. Like I, this kid,
young kid, he's working at Trader Joe's and I was like, oh, you know what? I need to find out
where the, where they move the almonds to now. And I'm like, you know, hey, excuse me, man, do you know where
the almonds? He goes, what happened? Nothing happened. Nothing happened. I was looking for the fucking
almonds. Nothing happened. And it happened again to me at like Walgreens. It's like, they just hire
anybody. What happened? Nothing happened. Nothing happened. I walked into the fucking store.
I looked around. I said, oh, shit, where do I got to get myself? Oh, there's the meat guy.
I saw the meat guy last Wednesday. And then I went around to the side. I guess that's all that
happened. Why do you care what happened? Where are the fucking almonds? Why did they say what happened?
That's a thing that they do. What happened?
And, yeah, it's it, and like, and what happened?
It's like they don't want you to bother them.
No, no.
You know you work here, right, Scott?
That's it.
Greenie from Oz.
Q is the dynamic.
You know you work here.
What happened?
What happened?
Q, is the dynamic, anything like Seinfeld and Elaine relationship?
They weren't that feisty, though.
They did go for the occasional sticking to the back room.
No, it's there, no, it's a very, it's way more like Martini said.
more like the Sam and Diane.
Almost like war of roses.
Yeah.
There's way more history.
There's a lot of history behind it too.
Because remember, and I, you know, we'll have the backstory on, on the Kickstarter as well, too, the things that, because they, they, when they work, they really worked.
But when they don't, they really don't.
I feel like we all know this kinds of relationships.
Yes.
100.
Yeah.
Ron H.
Martinez.
Super toxic.
Yes.
Our crew has a cocaine holding security dude.
a Derek with a big Johnson and a long pickle that's Dilden Moore.
There you go.
Oh, my gosh.
Yeah.
They're like hycues.
Has martini seen big balls?
The problem is I can't, I'm worried about putting that on the screen right now because it's my audio.
Yeah.
But no, she hasn't.
Mike.
Well, it depends.
Whose?
I've seen big balls.
He's a cartoon.
Chipmunk. Oh, okay. Yeah. Would you guys do some charities of our show does great?
100%. Oh my God, yes.
Yeah, absolutely. It depends on charity, but yeah. Yeah. Martina, who's some of your favorite stand-of
comedians? It's a good question. Well, that's a good question. Um, who haven't been canceled?
Let me think. Um, or even those, yeah. My, my answer changes a little. Oh, gosh, that's a really
good question. I'm so much more of like sketch comedy, fan girl. Um, let's see.
I mean, I've liked different people at different times.
And I wouldn't, I have a hard time saying a name because maybe sometimes I like some of their stuff and sometimes I didn't.
Yeah.
I'm a storyteller.
So I love, what's his face that tells stories?
What was his face?
What's his name?
He does a lot of one man shows.
Which one?
My Grieglia.
I think for Bigelia.
That's more my style.
I really like storytelling.
I know he's a little more one-man show than.
stand-up. That's good though, yeah. Yeah, that's good. But I do like, I mean, I like all the old guys,
you know, all the classics. But in terms of modern stuff, I really like stories. I love stories,
because I like it being based in like real stuff. I appreciate comedy and I appreciate, you know,
punchlines, but I really like storytelling. Storytelling, yeah. Ron H. K.H. reads me as Bucci.
I'm more like a lower toned big balls. Who's that? Christian, would you like to introduce
Martini to Mr. Balls? I just, I'll try to do it before she
leaves knowing that I'm going to lose her sound. So Gishkala, 8354. Any consideration by making
a Snyder producer, I feel like you blackmail some pretty big act. I see what you're what you're doing there.
It's good. Princess Positive. I'm back to the stream just to ask for a big balls plushy for my kiddos.
I mean, it's like, you know, I talk to Craig, though. There's like making some of these things are
just expensive. Expensive. Yeah, they're expensive. Pascall. Any chance Martini makes it to your
comedy show in October with Mark and Jen. Well, she's in California. She's not going to do it.
Yeah, it's a little tricky. But the funny thing is, it's my anniversary weekend. Oh, yeah. See? So the
funny thing is, though, had we been doing this back when I left, Martini and I performed together at the
comedy store before we, like my last day, my going away show. Brock Meyer is about a baseball.
If we raise enough money, we can tour together. Brock Meyer is about a baseball announcer who was viral
for crashing out of his wife, cheating on air. He becomes content. And 10 years later, he returns and
leads into the meme. Yeah, that's cool.
That sounds interesting. Yeah, there's an interesting
kind of similarity there for nothing
too, uh-oh, but yeah, that
yeah, that's cool. Mike,
the thing Martini did should be a sound bite.
She should be a voice actor and have a puppet with that voice,
100%. Which voice did I do?
Oh, the thing is. Yeah, the one you talk to,
yeah, when you're talking, like, you're possessed.
Droz Walker, Big Ball's merch would rock.
I can't imagine what my face looked like when I did that, by the way.
You'll see it on the replay. Big balls merch would rock.
Okay. We need to work on that.
I mean, yeah, it's like, yeah, I mean, look, people actually, a big balls plus you would be hilarious.
It just would be expensive.
Another bit for the show is have Sid the Squid coming to the studio or a character recording your podcast.
You don't know what happened there either, do you?
So I was, I always lock my door, the one over there.
I always lock it.
The one day I didn't, these two like Verizon guys came in while I was on, I was on air.
And I was in one of my, yeah, and I was in one of my moods.
Like, and so.
Oh, I know those.
Yeah, no, no, but not, no, but like my goofy like.
mood.
The other mood.
Right, the good one.
And then they walk in and,
and I was like, what do you guys?
I'm on the air.
What are you doing?
And I called one of the guys in.
I go, who are you?
He was like, I'm Sid the Squid.
Next thing we're talking about him and he became-
He called himself Sid the Squid?
On Instagram, he was Sid the Squid.
Yeah.
The Verizon guy?
Yeah.
Sid the Squid.
We should find that.
The Cinema Kid, loving this chemistry.
I can't wait for the pilot.
Thank you, Cindy.
Aw.
Yeah.
We have fun.
Iosha.
Have your respective spouses
prepare themselves when you become huge stars.
Thanks for our show.
Well, that's very nice.
Aw.
I owe my spouse to Christian, so.
That's true.
He was a great.
Let me say, she mentioned his name, so I'll mention it.
Adam is a, is a wonderful, wonderful human being.
And I got a chance.
I know Christian everything.
I played with him.
I played with him on my baseball.
He was on my baseball team.
That's how we met.
And we just would.
crack each other up and um and it's that i don't know if i ever told this story on the air but it's one of
my and i still think ed haskell is going to love this story so we play i think adam and i played on
the same team uh because look i was playing i was playing in baseball and this was like in 2003 or
or yeah two than three well from 2003 up until 2005 we played it yeah so we were playing on
this team together and it was it was it was hardball we were playing and everything and so we had these
like college with first season we did okay second season we had these college guys the guys who played
professionally in college they were RH too but they played professionally and we won every game we want
we won the championship we want everything we did okay but they were like hilarious ringers then
they all left and played in another league and we came in dead last oh my god we lost we lost every game
because we were in the same league that up,
they upped us a league because we were so good at your report.
But they all left and went to a higher league.
So we were in a shit losing every single game.
So by the time we got to the last,
like it was like the last two or three games,
we knew we were done.
And I don't know why,
but Finstock was on my team too for the people who know,
Tom Dagnino.
And so we,
I don't know why I had.
I think it was DJs,
but I had a harmonica.
And I brought the harmonica with me.
And I was playing.
I think it was right field.
And I said, yeah, yeah, because Dagnino was in the center.
And I go, dude, I'm going to play the harmonica and catch a fly ball.
I go, I don't think that's ever been done in the history of baseball.
And Degina looks at me, he goes, do it.
So the ball's hit.
Catch it.
I go, I am the first person in the history of baseball to ever catch.
while playing the harmonica.
And I walk in and the umpire goes,
and your husband goes,
dude,
that was fucking awesome.
It was the best.
He still tells that story.
Yeah, so good.
All right,
let's see.
It would be funny if I wish I knew
somehow got snuck into the train.
I wish I could play all these bits for Martinez
just a little loser audio.
Martini's trick,
Martini's trick made me twice
more excited for the show.
I know it's going to be.
hilarious. Did that get extra sign-ups just for that?
I hope so. Let's see.
I owe any extra sign. I'm going to attribute any extra signance to my voice.
I have a special phone call coming in for you.
Hold on. I'm going to, I'm going to bring it.
It's your dead father.
Oh, don't do that.
What the fuck is wrong with you?
This is so weird.
I feel like I'm on like Mory.
Hello.
Hello.
Can you hear that, Martini?
Yes.
Okay.
Is that my girl, martini?
I can't.
It's Sam.
We got Sam on.
Sam.
Yeah.
Sam's my new favorite person in the whole world, by the way.
I had to log on today.
I had to.
I was looking at the time.
I'm like, holy shit, martini's on.
Do you know how important is it?
Do you know that Sam has not watched my show in maybe two years?
And now, and now, I'm so honored.
I have to tell my.
business for. So Sam, you wanted to, I mean, so Sam is actually, she, she watched the video.
She's seen the, Sam was sitting here, Martini, like, asking me questions about, like,
overall series because she's so invested in the show. But like, but what, so yeah, please. Yes. Yeah, go
ahead. I had so many questions. Yeah. But the one thing I had never seen, um, like, you know,
you guys together. And when I saw the video, the first thing that I said to him was,
your chemistry is crazy.
Like you guys look like a true like
exes and your banter.
And then she's hilarious.
Yeah, she's like,
and I'm not going to dive into more than that
because I definitely am bad at spilling the beans.
But I was dying at this one thing that you did.
And I was just like, this is going to be so good.
And then I started like asking him questions.
Like, so where does this go?
where does that go? And I was like, we got this got, we have to do this. Like, this has to.
She's been checking. She's been checking the, the, the campaign, Martini. It's like, we're at 2000. We're at 2000.
You're the best ever. She can't hear you, but Martini said you are the best ever.
And then I follow her on Instagram. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. I got, yeah, so that, that, that's a potential
spoiler. I didn't, I didn't give any Sam, any information on that. No, that I'll,
tell you I'll tell you off air.
Oh.
Yeah.
So, but,
but in general.
I make an idiot of myself on Instagram.
Yeah, she's a,
so Martini and I have been talking about the show.
We're super excited about it.
We're glad that you, like, you know,
because I run stuff and things by you,
so I was glad that you responded to it the way you did.
No, yeah, this is going to be great, guys.
I'm literally following the Kickstarter site, like, all the time.
Like, I was on it.
I couldn't sleep at 2 in the morning.
And you were at, like, 18-something.
And I was like, oh my God.
I was like, this is going to happen.
This is going to happen.
You're the best.
No, seriously.
And I did say one thing.
And no, you know, respectfully.
I was looking at all these other Kickstarter campaigns and looking at what they've done.
And one hit $6 million.
And I looked at it.
And I'm like, they got nothing on your concept.
Like it's okay.
But it's not like maybe because, you know, you're my best friend.
But like, I was like, whatever.
I was like, you guys could definitely kill it.
So I'm excited for you guys.
You're the best, Sam.
Thank you.
And I'll see you.
I'll see you next week.
Yeah.
All right.
Talk you guys.
Bye.
Bye.
She, I mean, there's a reason.
I think if everyone had a Sam in their life,
like the world would be a different place.
You have no idea.
People have rightfully so have fallen on love with her.
Oh, my God.
She is so amazing.
Yeah.
She is a fountain of joy.
If we would have kept that scene in that we cut with the,
cutting the you know in the car she could have been that person oh my god a hundred percent scream
go back to she's coming she's coming in she's coming in to walmart so let's see uh it's what
she said what she says to me by the way uh okay avon hey christian hey martini terribly sorry amly i got
hung up at the clinic today how are both you doing honestly such an honor to talk to both you we're doing
good thank you hon doing great just had some coffee wearing my green shirt yeah uh
The issue with merch is it's expensive.
This is what seems.
That's why you got to be smart about it rather than say yes to everything.
100%.
That's why we should do a poll of like what people want.
Walker Dark.
Martini, hashtag trending haiku.
Watch hashtag trending martini and Christian Rock.
They will blow your mind.
Thank you.
Aw.
Yeah. Good haiku.
I know.
Joseph Ashton, will there be a small backstory on our show description later on the Kickstarter
or is there a risk and we'll steal the idealite friend?
Well, we have a, you know, copyrighted.
you know, it's also, too, as far as the show description, I mean, there's kind of a show description on there now.
Yeah.
So, yeah.
If we waste enough money for Christian to make a Sid the Squid mascot costume, I call dibs on wearing it to some restaurant.
I'm 100%.
Bo, 26.
Between the two of you, who do you think can make the other crack while filming scenes?
I know the answer to that.
Oh, God.
I'm the easiest person to crack in the world.
It's going to be actually really hard for me to be angry at Christian because he gets me like that.
It's a problem.
I honestly have to.
I thought about this because.
But I've thought about that because of it.
And I don't know how.
And we just something we'll have to discuss, obviously, in the preparation for it.
But that day, and if you really have to be mad, I've got to try to do something in real life to make you not happy with me that day.
You really do.
I'm going to, I'm just going to load myself with everything that's driven me nuts and just have to hang on it.
You should go back to that one day, our one fight.
That's it.
Red car.
I'll walk.
Red carpet.
Did not say that.
I've never said those words in my life.
Oh my God, I forgot that I followed Sid the Squid and he follows me back.
Let me see if I can find an update on it.
That's amazing.
Oh, we got a new member.
Thank you, Mark Moran.
We can't remember.
Thank you so much.
That's amazing.
A.K. Dardy, hey, Christian and Martini, I can't wait for our show.
And I'm setting a paycheck aside to donate to you all.
That is so kind.
You currently know the biggest tier on the Kickstarter.
How high do the tears go?
don't know and I'm going to let Craig do that. I have a neighborhood, but I will tell you that there
was something that was brought up on our last call that Martini and I were on that will be a tier that
all of us on the call went, oh my God. Like that is, you know what I'm talking about, right, Martini,
like the one particular thing that was offered and really, yeah. So there are things up to that are,
I think so. It's the, yeah, it's. I don't remember yesterday, but yeah. If you think about it,
It was something that someone suggested.
Well, I don't want to just assume.
That you've done before?
I didn't do this.
Someone on our phone call suggested, well, I don't want to just assume.
It might sound douchey, but what if I do this?
And everyone's like, yes, you should absolutely do that on the call.
Oh, oh, yes.
Yes.
On our production call.
Yes.
Oh, yeah, we got some good stuff.
That alone is going to be like, oh, my God.
So yes, they go higher.
There's only things.
There are limited tiers as well, too, but there's going to be some good stuff.
Fun stuff, yeah.
A.K. Dardy, Martini and Christian,
why did you choose the names you did for your characters?
And you realize people inspired are stories behind names.
Great question.
That's a good question.
Danny came from, I don't know when I,
when that was back in,
because the idea was that he was somewhat related to the bartender in my first one.
That's where it came from.
It was supposed to be Tommy and Danny Lyons.
And now they maybe saw.
the Jason R and I we even really talked about it doesn't really matter if it is ever it isn't
even though Katie was the original name of the character and it wasn't based off of anybody
just it was just happened to be and I was changed and I was changing it and did I ever tell you
this do you know who named Kelly no my eight year old really yeah and I said and I was talking
about it's well she does this this and and I was come up with these ideas of different names
and she goes she's like I like the name Kelly I go Kelly
a great name for this. That's hilarious
because it's such a Gen X name in my mind.
I know. And she came up with it.
Like my eight-year-old. I was like, it was amazing.
Your eight-year-old should be a writer on the show.
She's...
She absolutely should be a writer on the show.
She have no idea. I told you what she said to Sadie, right?
They said you the one to that line when
Sadie was... And I were moving stuff from the garage
into the basement and she had...
Masey had a friend over and they were like tying their shoes,
whatever, and we're walking up and Sadie's just like belting out this tune.
and like really, really loud.
And she looks at the friend,
the friend's laughing that she looks at Macy and goes,
honey, I'm sorry, am I embarrassing you?
And Macy goes, no, you're embarrassing yourself.
It was so good.
But it was like this, it was so quick.
Sadie laughed so hard at that like immediately.
God, that's good.
It was so good.
She has both of your sense of humor.
It sure does.
We got martini for another 30 minutes and then it's it.
So we'll get your questions now.
and then we're out.
Oh, I'll stick around.
Finally became a member today.
Thank you, Lee Henry.
I listen every day in the car.
I'm expired by this endeavor.
After 20 years away from music,
I'm in a band again with my daughter.
It's never too late.
That's the coolest story.
Oh, my God. Congrats.
That's the best.
That's the thing.
Like, you know, if we can inspire people to do.
Yeah.
It's like inspire people to just go for whatever,
at any, whoever you are.
Like, I think that's something that's so big in my mind is showing people that
nothing, it's never too late, number one.
Number two, like, just do what's fun and do it like sparks joy, you know?
And then everything else kind of goes from there.
Well, what Martini said beforehand is so true and where things are like echoing life, right?
Like to where you look at both Danny and Kelly and their characters or they're trying to,
it's too late for them.
People tell you they're they had their glory.
They had this.
They're old dinosaurs.
They don't know what they're doing.
And then the ideas can they make it happen?
Same thing with Martini and I.
Right?
I think, you know, it's like, oh, you're doing YouTube and you do podcast.
You've been acting in so long.
What are you trying to do?
Martini, what are you doing your mom?
What are you trying to do this?
Just do that.
What are you doing?
And it's like, they parallel each other.
And it's to have a comment like that, it's never too late.
You're 100%.
That's the whole point of this.
And it's a great narrative to this story in general.
Yeah.
Blake, quick, a scene with you two interviewing Penny Barber could be great,
especially if she makes Danny call her mommy.
I actually told Martini about this.
And she was the one who said,
Of course.
Because I told you when we interviewed the adult porn star,
adult porn star, why did I even say that?
The adult film star.
And I said, I said, she was a great interview.
And you're like, yeah.
And I said, that would be amazing if the two of them interviewed her down the line.
Because she actually would be really great in a scene like that.
Absolutely.
Are you kidding?
That's what's so fun about the show, too, is like,
there'll be podcasts guests on the podcast that they're doing.
And that just adds more humor and more fun for.
100% it does.
Great.
name. Fuck you. Even if this fails miserably, I appreciate the attempt.
You got to try. You know, failing, failing. You have to celebrate your failures. You learn from
them. I love this comment. It's my favorite comment today for so many different reasons.
One, look at his face. Can you see it? It's amazing. Two, fuck you.
is so good.
And then even if this fails miserably,
he should be in the show.
It's unbelievable.
Where'd you go?
Oh, sorry.
I was looking at the picture.
Sorry.
Oh, okay.
I was trying to see him.
Yeah.
Never mind.
Don't worry about it.
James Wheeler, that's huge, James.
Thank you.
Next week I'm turning 53 and to celebrate.
I'll be so excited to support our show.
Thank you, James.
That's super kind of you.
Happy birthday.
Yes, thank you.
Jeddah.
A.K.
D.K.
D.K. D. D.
Thank you, A.K. Doherty. James, thank you so much. James Wheeler, by the way,
has been such a great supporter of this channel. I can't thank you enough. So really good.
Thank you, AK, for being a member. Ron H. I wonder if Christian went,
Halshaw, through the mic, if Sam would still get scared. I hope Sam gets to be a character on trending
even in Lord of the Ring. Sam's Rock. Yeah, 100.
I'm telling you. Sam, absolutely.
Yes, it's a lady who curses me out, 100%.
Joseph Ash, will there be any California jokes like having birds, frost,
your park car or your best friend's hooker gives love advice or funny road rage and traffic.
I mean, four or five freeway.
I'm sure this.
LA will be somewhat of a character.
I'm sure.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We have to make fun of her.
She's a mess.
Avant.
Martini,
could you please talk a bit about your approach to writing characters and especially
those down at a certain point in their life?
Would you approach them from analytical perspective?
That's really interesting.
I always like to write characters from like an inspiration of someone I know.
Yeah.
So I always like to draw from real people.
or real experiences that I've had or people I've met in my life because that gives me a basis
and a framework. And it also really drives the authenticity of it, right? And of the situation.
I can immediately, I'm not just making it up, but I'm basing it on actual things that happen.
And luckily, I didn't think of it then, but I've had so much crap happen in my life that I have a lot
to draw from. I've lived a million lives. So I really do draw from the 10 different places I've
all the different chaos in my life.
So I do draw from that or friends or people I've met,
but that's where I begin.
And then I really find their vulnerabilities.
I speak from vulnerabilities.
I think that's what you're writing is people's insides.
And then you can, you know, do the jokes and the quirk,
all the other stuff from the outside ego, right?
I think, I like writing characters with layers.
So that's kind of my approach, yeah.
Agreed.
Does Martini have any more tricks?
This is Mike Moodra.
Oh, God.
That's a good question.
She can juggle. She can juggle.
I can juggle. I can juggle.
Oh, my God, yes. When I was a kid, I got a juggle kit for Christmas.
I was a kid. Are you kidding? I was 15. I was such a loser.
And I taught myself how to juggle. Yeah, it's very cool.
Sam actually, my Sam wrote and said,
Martina, I love and adore you. Please smack Christian in the back of the head when he does eventually scare you or tries.
I'm about to throw punch him myself one day.
I'm surprised she hasn't like clothesline.
you. Well, because I kind of get out of the way.
You're smart.
From a distance. I've done it. I mean, I've gone so many different places. Eventually she will.
Eventually she tried to scare me once and she gave up because it didn't work.
Oh, you know what? I hate to tell you, I'm really good at scaring people. In college,
I hid in my friend's closet for like three hours.
That's that's dedication.
I'm dedicated. Writing question. Writing jokes, what are your thoughts in referencing celebs,
pop culture jokes? We have a few of them in there. It's amazing how King of Queen's pop culture jokes are still relevant today with who they
choose. I think that depends on the joke, right? And like, they're in pop culture, right? So like
some of the guests, I think it's part of the character of the show. I think I definitely think that
will probably come in, yeah. It doesn't come in a lot in the pilot because we're kind of setting up
everything. Yeah, there's a few kind of references for cele. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, there is, yeah.
Got to try to get Burke Kreisher on the show. Green, I mean, look, anybody's going to be,
hopefully anybody's in play, you know? A.K. Martini, Christian says, other than
telling the story he's hoping the pilot brings attention to the channel in the long run as well.
Are there any opportunities for yourself that you hope that the pilot brings you long term?
What a great question.
A.K., coming in hot here today, I like it.
That's a good question.
Long term?
God, you know, just, that's a really good question.
If it doesn't go or if it does go, I mean, long term would be, oh, I mean, long term
would be working with my favorite people and having fun every day and creating something funny for you guys, you know, and making people laugh.
I think that would be fun.
Yeah.
I mean, I don't, I really don't come in with like, I need this and this and this and this.
It's more like, this is super fun and I just want to keep doing it.
And as far as opportunities go to, I think one of the things that would lend us to do is potentially do a show podcast with myself and Martini.
Oh, yeah, that would be fun.
Exactly.
Like, actually do the podcast, right?
And then have, you know, guests and stuff that they would typically have on the show.
That would be a cool opportunity for the both of us that.
That would be fun.
Yeah, Ron H.
Okay, so trending.
It's about old people doing stuff.
Despite them being old, this is so my show.
I'm old.
Is it 74?
Yes.
I do stuff.
I may fucking love this show.
Thank you, Ron.
We're your sweet spot, okay?
I think so.
We've got a couple left here.
Motor rolling.
Hey, Joey, you know, Joey.
Joey took our photos, Martini.
Joey!
This is not Kickstarter related at all,
but the big guy had his first practice with his new team.
Oh, dear.
It's into the bad news bear equipment was made of wet paper.
It's hilarious.
I love Joey's story about this.
Gerd Virgin,
what Kickstarter tier funds Christian some non-plastic eye glasses?
You don't want to do that.
I buy these bullshit glasses because they break all the time.
You know, it's so funny.
I was just looking at your glasses thinking you need a new glasses.
Like, what are you wearing?
I buy bullshit glasses because they always broke.
And I always tell people,
and this is throughout my entire life.
My wife won't do it anymore.
We're going to give Christian a makeover.
He's going to get it.
No, no.
Listen to me.
Because my wife did this, my ex-girlfriend, who you knew did this too,
used to buy me sunglasses, expensive ones.
And I said, don't do that.
I said, they will be gone.
They will be broken.
They will be lost.
That's true.
Fair enough.
I'll never forget this.
I went and bought these really expensive sunglasses when I lived in L.A.
And I was like, you know what?
And at the time, I couldn't afford them.
And it was like, it was, it was.
way too much. Well, that was your problem. You knew you're going to lose them if you can't afford
him. Martina, not only did I lose them, I went to Ralph's right after I bought them and left them
at Ralph's within, within 20 minutes of buying them. And I'm like, never again. This is not doing it.
Michael D. And 10 jewels, gold coin. Thank you. Avant. Also, as both actors and writers,
do you make up a complete backstory for your character than we as an audience might not be privy to?
Like, do you have to justify their actions as a writer as an actor?
Martinez, I live in the backstory.
Lids. I live in the backstory.
Like, to me, if I'm going to be able to conjure up memories and ideas and emotions from this person,
I got to know why that he was in the place that he was in.
So I constantly come up with the backstory of all of it.
And I love this, too, is Martino would be like, oh, well, why?
And sometimes she'll ask me, is, what do you have in a, and, you know, that you thought
they did this, that I throw it to her, like, oh, okay, cool.
But I love the backstory side of it.
And you guys will be privy to some of it.
it, maybe not all of it, maybe to some of it eventually down the line in the series.
Also, we're also thinking about doing some flashbacks.
Easily.
So I think that we have a really great flashback that we want to do.
And I think that's fun to kind of go back into that with their world.
Yes.
And I think that we talked about this.
I talked about it where there was someone that had asked me the other day if we ever
thought about flashback scenes.
And I said, we actually started the initial pilot with a flashback scene that we both
love like we love it it's a great
scene it just it's you don't
need it for the pilot well it's
also very expensive for the pilot it was
very expensive for the pilot that's also a great point
so we're thinking about episode two
yeah yeah
nerd virgin for the 11 to 12 hour
live stream marathon is there a special plan for martini's
time slot maybe a Hollywood reaction
I don't think she's going to do a reaction but she's definitely
be on for the live stream you know whatever time
I'm gonna be I'm gonna start
at like 8 in the morning
or 9 in the morning on the 22nd
we launch. Oh, all right. Tell me when to show up. Yeah. So, yeah, she'll be here.
We just got to figure out when. Mike, what other projects are Martini working on besides our
show? Ooh, well, it'll slowly come out, but I'm working on a couple things. And once I figure out
what they are exactly, I'll definitely let you guys know. But I am working on some stuff. Yeah.
You'll announce it on this show. More kind of, yeah. Yeah. Walk or Dark. For our show, you need to write a scene
martini where you are juggling three balls with words help me and stuck while your clothes
about helping you shake i think i think there is a moment where she's really trying to show all of her
talents in one 30 second moment for some reason you're going to have to do that trick on camera
he's going to have to like like being like danny i'm more talented than you and there'll be a talent
off you know uh christian and martini what famous person would you want to guest star in their
show well everybody in the chat christian already has his
Does everybody know yours?
Everybody knows.
Everybody knows.
Julia Roberts.
Yeah, everybody knows that.
For me?
Oh, God, that's a good question.
I mean, who would mine be?
I don't know.
Anyone really funny?
Come on.
There's going to be somebody.
You'd be like, oh, me, God, that'd be amazing that that person was on.
Bill Murray?
Oh, God, yeah, sure.
Love Bill Murray.
Yeah, done.
Yeah.
J.D. reviews.
Is training a mock commitment?
We did that one already.
No, not.
Yeah, we answered that one a little earlier.
Oh, the mock. Okay, I can't see.
Yeah. Yeah. Thank you so much, J.D.
We really appreciate it. No, it's more, as we said, like, I think hacks and bears
more of a appropriate.
But there's elements because of the behind-the-scenes footage that the interns are taking
of them in the studio, and that will get incorporated in funny ways, yeah.
So Kevin comes in here, and this is like, so Keb, we actually mentioned this earlier.
The real Kevin Smith, I've had the pleasure of seeing these two riff for about an hour
in character. This is the thing we said when we did reactions to, um,
viral videos and stuff and things
and we send it to Kevin. He was going to cut like shorts and
stuff out of it. There's something I reveal
and let me tell you, they are magic.
hilarious. They're relatable. They nailed it. Can't wait
to see both of you shine. Yeah, he came
in and did and he did the edits
for us on a couple of these things. We just didn't wind up
promoting any of that stuff yet.
We were going to create a channel
of Kelly and Danny reacting
and doing stuff and we started kind of shooting
some of those and he edited them. Yeah, he did a great
job too.
Those were really funny. New member?
Oh, actually, you're a human
is a member for 13 months.
It's amazing. Thank you so much.
All right. Last one for now.
Avant. What also fascinates me the most
are certain nuances about the characters
like certain ticks that they might have.
Are those put into the script
or both of you as actors
thinking about during filming?
I think there's a mixture of both, right?
There's definitely certain things that she,
that Kelly does.
She's way more neurotic than like he is.
Right?
Yeah. He's got his things.
And perfectionist.
Yeah. And he's stubborn in the way
that he does stuff.
And, but there's also things that he does that,
one of the nuances everything, too.
And I don't know if you guys have been noticing.
For a very long time, like schmose and everything, too,
I would wear, you know, whether it was shirts from, like,
other movies or everything or whatever it might be where,
or flannels or whatever.
I have, for the last year, been consciously,
been wearing solid shirts with his black shirts.
He's got a very specific thing.
that he does. He wears black shirts is simple. I also think a lot of the nuance can come from
like with actors in their in their activity, right? So like what they're doing, right? So giving them
something to do and I think a lot of personality comes out in that and whatever they're doing,
you know, and how they do it. And, you know, I always kind of like, I think that there's a lot of
nuance and that's why I love performing. I love having an activity because that allows the character
to come out and whatever you're doing to.
I agree. Ed, 2,252 followers. We did it, Martina. We did it. We need 48 more just to hit 2,200.
4,000. We mean 2100? If you still haven't signed up, it's free, enter and confirm your email,
then click notify me, and that is it. That's right, Ed. That's all you got to do.
I will do that voice all the time.
I know. Trying to get the 5,000 before the 22nd, so hopefully you guys sign up. Now, this for for now is the last.
last one. Nervid version, how, now that we are in the home stretch before the Kickstarter begins,
how are you two feelings? A great question. Nervous, anxious, excited. How do you keep calm
before the storm? I think for me, the answer is all the above. I, I, you know, I'm, I'm excited.
Like, we just keep getting new news and every time we get news, you're like, wow, that is so great.
Oh my God, that's so fun. Like, holy cow, you know, it's just, I think that's where I'm,
am. I don't feel nervous because like if it's meant to work, it's meant to work, I feel like it is.
But I think it's just fun. Like you're like the reactions we've been getting and the people coming
aboard. It's just like, all right. Super fun. I think that it's also. Also, Christian is also
running the Kickstarter. Right. So I'm like, I'm great. It's so I'm really, it's super cool.
I'm like speak for yourself, mother.
sinking yeah.
Oh, I guess you guys, this is so easy, this Kickstarter thing.
No, it's nervous, anxious and excited is all that, right?
Because, like, I'm putting everything that I have into it.
I mean, I had to give warnings to my wife.
So I mean, I gave a warning to my wife.
I said, you know, I'm taking, we're doing something very special for her birthday.
We kind of want to make sure that, because I know that once we really get into this,
I'm going to be unavailable to anybody except you guys, right?
I really am.
And it's like, I'm going to be everywhere doing everything that I can.
to make this happen because I'm not just doing this like I said making this happen for me.
I'm trying to make this happen for my my good friend and someone that I know I cannot wait
to be working with. I'm also doing this for all of you because of what we've been talking about
of like it's just we're in such a cool era that like I was really like the fact that we can
even do this. The fact that we can do it and the fact that I was thinking about like people who are
pitching stuff to other networks and things. I'm like we're going so far past that right now.
Like we're not going in a pitch too because that was the conversation.
I've talked about us on the year and I'll bring in it.
And Andrew and I will talk about it where we had that conversation after the,
we tried to go one route in the crowdfunding.
It wasn't going the way that we thought it was before we did Kickstarter.
And then Andrew was like, you know, is there a world where you just want to go and package it
and do the traditional thing?
And like for a split second, I was like, oh, maybe that's what we should do.
And then we were in the parking lot.
And I said, no, I never had a chance.
My audience never had a chance.
I'm like, I wanted to give you guys a chance because we get to make this.
This is us. We're going to do this together.
This is groundbreaking. You know, it's all happening. The democratization of it all is happening.
And the fact that, you know, we could do this and go around the gatekeeping and, you know, kind of just have people decide what they want to see and put their money directly behind it.
I think there's something really inspiring about it. Yeah.
It is. And it's also why I really wanted you to come on today.
Because you were on last time and it was in you were able to introduce yourself.
but we weren't really able to talk about a lot of stuff, right?
So now by doing it, like, they really get to see you and I
and understand like what we're doing.
And I think that's important for people that are going to be back in this thing.
Mike, who was the troublemaker while making our show?
I'd say both of us.
Right?
Neither of us are innocent.
We're both troublemakers.
Yeah, we both.
But I don't think there's really a lot of troublemakers, though, as far as when it came to
like writing, because we knew how important it was when we need to get done.
Yeah.
When we're down to business, we're down to business.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But I think 90% of us are total morons, yeah.
Yeah, totally.
Martinez, does your character draw or paint?
Neither.
Neither.
That requires way too much patience that she doesn't have.
She does not have it.
Casey, gee, her daughter probably would, though.
Yes, her daughter, definitely does.
Definitely.
If a streaming service picks up the pilot where they don't give you a strict episode length,
wouldn't that be a dream?
Yes.
Oh, my God.
Yeah, because it's like, okay, you know what?
Yeah, because you write it and you're like,
Yeah, you're trying to cut it out.
And you're like, well, that takes, changes the rhythm and it changes, what's, you know, changes everything.
I mean, to have that flexibility really allows shows to shine now.
Okay.
If you end up way over shooting the Kickstarter goal, would you prioritize making a season or top tier pilot?
Well, it depends on what that budget is, right?
Because like, as I've been saying, like, what I've been looking at the numbers and things, too, when you look at what the Guild did for a film, they broke, they beat the Veronica Mars record.
and when they made like 6.7.
I'm looking for 1.5.
Oh my God.
I'm looking for like a movie.
TV show, I don't, you know,
we could break the record.
Let's say we got lucky enough
and we were blessed enough
to do what the guild did.
And we made 6.7.
You can make a series on that like that.
You can make a series like that.
Now, if you overshot it
and you did like 600 to a million on it,
well, that also depends on what Mortini was talking about too.
What kind of music are we getting?
What kind of director, director,
director, photography, what kind of crew we get,
what kind of actors are we getting?
So then it starts to be public.
You know what?
We didn't have this amount to offer so-and-so for the role of this.
Now we do.
So it depends on what that number is when you overshoot.
So, okay, when you ask, when you overshoot the Kickstarter goal,
it really just depends on buy how much.
You know, like, I would love to have that conversation.
in like day 20 with our production team and going,
we're here now.
Martini and I really need to start figuring out
what the series looks like and what our writing schedule is going to be
and how we make that work to shoot the series.
That would be great. That would be a dream.
That would be a dream, yeah.
Danny Allen, XP, I brought up Ramble on
because it was also a 30-minute comedy pilot
about the podcast world set in L.A.,
Charlie Sheen and Kevin Connolly were leads.
Oh, that was the Doug Ellen one. Interesting.
What year was that?
I mean, that was after entourage, I assume, that he pitched it.
But that goes to way.
And I didn't have this conversation yesterday with talk about it off here,
about a mutual person that we both know.
And we were just talking about how the taboo of Kickstarter has changed dramatically from like 10 years ago.
I don't think Zach Braff would have gotten the same shit today that he did when he was kickstarting back then.
Oh, interesting.
Because you're like, oh, you're a celebrity and you're this.
You can't.
The system is not easy to crack through no matter who you are.
And even so like I don't think that if he ran that today, I don't think he would get shit.
I really don't.
Did he get a lot of shit for the first?
Oh, we got a ton of shit for doing that Kickstarter movie.
He's like, oh, you're a celebrity.
What do you need to crowd fund for?
And it's like, I think people understand it more now.
Erie Hume.
Hey, from New Zealand.
I love your work.
Thank you so much.
That's super kind.
Yeah.
Avent, Martine, a silly question this one.
Love that.
What do you do?
You just broke my leg.
You hurt yourself in ways that I.
Oh, my God, you guys.
Where do you look when you need inspiration as a writer and what pushes you the most in case something isn't quite working out the way you wanted to?
For an inspo for writing, for sure, my life.
Anytime I have stories, I think of what stands out to me of just, you know, what makes me laugh or cry.
And then, so that's for inspiration.
What was the second part?
Second part was, in these needs creations, right, what pushes you the most in case something isn't quite working out the way you wanted it to?
That's actually a really good point.
I get stuck on things sometimes and I can kind of loop on it, you know?
And I just kind of, I'm like, I can't see it.
Honestly, space, taking space away from it, even if it's like a week and I just kind of get away from it and you just click it out of my head.
Yeah, we've done that.
Yeah, and then you come back to it.
I mean, Christian and I took actually kind of a big break.
And then we came back to it with fresh eyes and it was like something completely different.
Well, yeah, there's something like, yeah, I remember there's, yeah, I remember that whole thing of what happened.
Yeah.
So I think that's the biggest thing.
That happened, yeah.
Darth Mischief.
If the show gets big and you guys become popular, will you start acting in other things
if offered?
I can definitely see you both hosting SNL for real.
That's very kind.
The answer for me is no.
Would you start acting in other things?
No.
You wouldn't either, right?
Me?
I mean, I have no idea what I would do.
You would.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
I feel like you would and I feel like you should.
I mean, you have to remember, guys.
We're old in this industry.
Yeah, but I think you're, what the thing is with you, but I think that life, I think the thing
is that you, you, you're a wonderful mom, your wife, and you do, I think that life has,
I'm not, but thank you.
Oh, you are.
But life took you and said, well, we're going to do this right now.
And you said, okay.
And you said, I'll leave other stuff behind.
But the thing is that you're so fucking talented that it wouldn't let you get away.
So it's pulling you back in.
I'm saying.
And, and, but the thing is what I don't, what I keep trying to tell.
And I told Martini, we won't go too deep into it.
We had a phone call when we were.
talking about doing this and acting and everything too.
I said, there's no one else that can do this version of her.
You have, this is you.
You're doing this.
And she, and she, within a second, she knows that she said, this is her.
She's super talented.
And so Sam fell in love with her.
And it's why you guys are going to fall in love with her.
And you will be doing other things.
But I'm not, I'm not doing.
Why limit yourself?
I want to do, I like interview.
I like talking to people.
See, this is Christian and I.
We're always like, no, we're good.
It's fine.
For me, for me, like,
But that was what I tell people, too.
Like, anybody, most people have been very supportive in what I want to do.
I know this character.
I think in this character.
I know how to, I know, like, maneuver him and I know how to interact with, you know,
who I need to interact with as this character.
I don't want to do Shakespeare.
You know what I mean?
Like, who's doing Shakespeare?
No, but I'm just saying that people are like, oh, you haven't acted in so long.
I'm like, I know this guy.
I don't necessarily know.
And I wrote this guy.
Right.
You know, with Mortini.
I don't want to.
I don't want to. No, I think that's actually the thing. Like going on doing the whole audition
circuit, I think creating our own thing. Like if after this, like creating something else that's mine,
then yeah. I don't, I wouldn't just go like, I don't think I would go audition for things.
No, I would rather like create something. I've been, I've been very adamant about this.
I want to tell this story. That is the thing. I want to tell the story of Danny and Kelly.
I know where we both, the two us know where it goes. I want to tell that story. I want to tell that story.
I want to talk to people on my podcast.
I want to continue to do this.
I want to make sure that my kids and my wife are happy.
And that's all I want to do.
It's so funny.
We come from that such pure place.
We're both the same.
We're like,
I just want to make a great life from my family.
I don't want to do.
I just want to be able to show you.
And I like where I live and like work with people you like being with and make fun things.
Yeah.
We're simple people.
Yeah,
it's 100%.
Just wanted to say I'm really excited to contribute to our show and make this happen.
Thank you.
I lost my closest friend and improv buddy in 2020.
I'm so sorry, man.
So sorry.
Big dreams.
God I can help you do yours.
Wow.
I can't even tell you how nice and that's awesome.
That's not.
Thank you.
That's really hard though.
I'm sorry to that.
It's really hard.
Yeah, but that's really awesome.
And just no,
they're still with you.
Yeah,
one billion percent,
but it's really nice that you said that and also the fact that we're able to give
you that.
And that's why I want people to see that process.
You can feel that too, right?
You can feel it together.
Yes,
because it can be infectious,
right?
NerdBurch.
I think so let's all do it together, man.
And again,
thank you for sharing.
sharing that with us. It's a fun
thing. Like, something that I love about
social media is the social aspect. And
like it really does bring people together
around things. It makes you find your people.
Yeah. And it just allows
you to connect in ways that you normally
wouldn't connect. I mean, I'm sure there's a lot of people don't
live in L.A. who don't, wouldn't do,
you know, be making a show or something. And now it's like, hey, let's all
collectively take our interest in making something fun and do it
together via social media. I don't know. I think
it's so cool.
I only have Martini for like two more minutes, so I'll get to what I can.
Ron H. Martini offered K.H. kicking something or someone to start things off, but he said no.
Do I have your permission to kick someone? It adds to my badass image, I think.
I don't want to give anyone permission to kick someone.
Don't do that.
Lucia Duval.
Hashtack trending.
Is there any non-negotiables in the writer's room where everyone has to agree?
Well, I don't know.
I don't know the answer to that question.
I don't think so.
No.
I don't think so. I think it's always kind of like the consensus, you know, whatever makes the most people laugh.
That's kind of more I go.
Ayoshi, sending you both love Puerto Rico. Thank you. I will be doing my best, sharing, promoting, whoever I can. I want to help make your dreams reality because you help us laugh in these dull times. Bless you both.
It's true. The world is a lot right now. We need more comedy, you guys. This is crazy. Like, we're all the good comedies.
Late quick, this show is going to be a hit because you get.
tell how much every person involved is so invested and loves the project that's
really nice and i mean i hope so too and it's like i was saying because you know i am
during the shmowdown days peel d knew it before you i'm too i was always like okay we got this
thing i got to tell everybody about it now and like the thing that we had that we can't talk about
now i was i said to you i'm like let's announce it today and then i was andrew's like
let's wait your impression of andrews we can wait uh martini
Who's an idea person to play your parents or family, says Joseph Ashley.
Ooh, that's a really good question.
Well, if it's based on real family or Kelly's family?
Yeah, we've got to figure out her family.
We have to dive a little deeper into her family.
I don't think we have her family in mind yet.
That's a good question, though.
His we know.
I don't know what kind of drama they're bringing it.
I got to figure out what her trauma is,
and then that would help me figure out who the parents are.
Sure.
Martini, do you have a musical playlist to get creative?
I do.
Yeah, I do listen to music a lot when I write.
That really gets me into the vibe for sure.
Mike, what do you like to do in your free time martini?
What are your interests?
Oh, my goodness.
Oh, my interests are.
I'm with my kids a lot.
I'm not going to lie.
That probably takes up everything.
If I didn't have them for a day, I mean, I love hiking.
I like being outside.
I really like being near the ocean.
That's probably my favorite thing to do, yeah.
Last two.
when your show airs do you think you'll go on Jimmy Kimmel's show and crack jokes in interview.
I mean, listen, hey.
Oh.
That'd be a nice dream.
A dream.
Yeah.
Avant.
Are you both allowed to have opinions on your characters and the decisions they make or is it important, important, you're impartial to them as the one bringing them to life?
Oh, we definitely have opinions on our characters for sure because we have, like, that's, we discuss it together.
Yeah.
And they do things that we don't like, you know, they're not, they, that's what brings them, that's what makes them them.
You know, they aren't us, right?
And it's whatever is in the scenario and the situation that that rings true to them.
But they're, you're shittier than us in a lot of ways and different than us in a lot of ways.
And we definitely have opinions about them.
Yeah.
That's it.
All right, I'm going to let you go.
But before we do, you might lose, let me see, let's see if you lose sound.
Tell me if you lose sound.
Okay.
Let me do this first.
Did you lose sound?
No.
Okay, good.
Then that's good news because then I'm going to put you, I'm going to, you can hear me, right?
Yeah.
Okay.
How's it going, Latini?
Oh my God.
Nice to see you.
Oh, my God.
Yeah.
Why?
I'm doing a little show.
Why does that chipmunk have giant balls?
What is happening?
Well, at least you didn't call me a squirrel, so we could.
We good.
We good.
Listen, I'll be telling one thing.
If you're going to write in a little pot about a chipmunk, make sure you write one about a chipmunk who'd be fucking.
Oh, my God.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's what I do.
Elephant, giraffe.
It don't matter.
I'm crazy.
I'm crazy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So you can't do that for me?
This is what they want a plushy of?
Oh, yeah.
They want to lay in my balls.
They want to lay right up my balls.
And I give them a little pet.
We should get balls plushies.
Yeah.
Can I interview pet?
Yes.
Thank you.
So there he is.
This is big ball.
That is burned into my memory now.
Yeah.
Most, most people.
So, all right, listen, the show is.
trending and you guys and you check it out once again it begins on the 22nd currently
thank you for your support yeah no 100% let's 2,057 as of today we're going to try to hit
2100 beforehand do you want to anywhere that you want people to follow you just more should
I dance for more uh no you get a potato quality right now so forget it what is what is potato quality
Like, whoa, white person dancing?
No, your computer looks like you're shooting it with a potato right now
because it's like you're losing, you're not getting good reception right now.
Oh, oh, okay.
Yeah.
All right, get out of here.
I'll see you.
I'll talk to you later.
It's great to have you on, as always, and we'll have you back on the 22nd for sure so we can get this thing going.
Can we wait, guys.
See you later.
All right.
Great Martini Peratori, everybody.
So I'm glad you guys got a chance to meet her.
and I'll bring PLD back.
How great is she?
Oh, are you guys together?
Magic, man.
She's really good,
isn't she, though?
She's really funny.
She's right with your humor, too.
That's what makes it work.
Yeah, so let's,
and if people have more questions for me,
to go,
I mean, like I said,
I said I would do a super show today.
I will,
but if people want to ask more questions,
they certainly can,
if not, that's fine.
But Seattle, do your characters have siblings
that will be support characters?
So I can tell you his,
he's got a younger sister
that he definitely gets
along with, but he's pretty kind of strange from both of them when it starts.
And his brother is kind of is pissed off on him.
His brother's pissed off at him.
So, you know, if that works out towards the end, we'll see.
In my mind, like I said, we have to dive a little deeper into Kelly.
Like she definitely has a sister that her family dynamic is built a little bit more into.
But that's it.
So let's see.
Let's get into a few more questions we want.
How do you and PLD meet?
Schmode guy.
He's a Schmodeown guy.
Like he was a big, actually, I mean,
Houston, is it the first time I met you?
The first time we met was actually at celebration for the Schmodeown.
What's the real?
Because I skipped the last Jedi panel and was front in line for the Smodown match.
Oh, did you skip it?
You skipped the, you cheated the line?
I went to the 40th anniversary panel.
I'm like, I'm not sleeping in the fucking concrete for another panel.
I told them.
That was when the Schmodon was in the height of its powers.
and I told so that was Orlando right yep I told them they said we're going to give you a room of 600 people
I said we need a bigger room they said you're not going to sell out 600 people if you are
we'll be able to put people in the back I said it I said people want to see this this this match
and they said you'll be all right so we got there and there was a line around the thing
yeah 600 people went in like that and I think there was more like I think
think they said like close to six to a thousand people didn't get in right yeah absolutely and i remember
watching oh holy shit they were getting mad at me and i was like i i talked i talked to the people
they told me they told me that's all we um so interesting that that's where that we're
that was first time and then uh haskell martin's parents peggy segal and her old sister
tina fay it'd be great to go yeah 100 percent that'd be great avon christian what is it about
making a career in comedy that a lot of people find out the hard way that you have to work at it
and you really got to work at it and you got to understand especially when as far as stand-up comedy
goes you know it's like people you got to it's a craft that you really have to put together and you
got to work on it and it's just like you're forming things you're putting it together you're
trying it out okay that didn't work it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like a machine
that you're putting together and like let's try that oh that didn't work that way how about
this and then you let it okay now it's running it's running it's running and then I know I need
a new one and you put another one out and another one out and that's just kind of how it works i remember
when i was a kid watching a stand-up comedian's going like wow i already heard that show they're
doing that joke again yeah i was like to say a different show every night i thought yeah it's true um
let's see so let's see everybody everybody loving uh martini yeah what does everybody's
what was everybody's thoughts on martini yeah let me know what do you guys think because i want to
i i'll read those out there too because like i want to you mean it's exciting for me too that you guys
get to meter, really, really meter this time around and it gets to see the idea.
And now, PILD, you've read the script.
And Saul has read the script, right?
So you can, you can see the Danny and Kelly.
100%.
Right.
100%.
This is going to be great.
I'm pumped for it.
It's going to be good.
Seattle, were you always doing producing work, PLD?
I mean, no, when I met him, not for us.
Right.
I will do, yeah, no, not around the time.
We're soon afterwards.
That's when I joined Ben and Andrew on Action Industry.
is not too long after that but then uh yeah then i go back over and join you guys uh patrick o'brien
hey christian a long-time viewer who definitely supporting kickstarted thank you patrick seeing your work
has been a big inspiration i'm also writing my own 30-minute comedy pilot that's amazing do it and
and do everything that you can and just push it forward uh creatively you know keep doing what you're
doing you too patrick thank you that's very very kind is this true starboard celebration tickets
are listed for 1.5 per day that's not true that can't be unless it's like a no way no i mean
sold out, but I mean,
1.5.10.
I don't know.
Mike Mujra.
What made you decide that PLD would be a great worker for you?
No one else was available.
No.
No, he,
he, uh, he was,
he did a great job at the Schmodown.
Like we brought, we brought him in to help P.J out and he did a great job.
And I think, I think he was the first, he was the first person I called.
I was like, it was, it was just PLT and I when we started.
There was nobody.
There was no, like, Luke didn't come on until a little bit afterwards.
Luke helped out.
Luke was always kind of helping out with.
things but PLD was the first person on board to help me with Patreon and everything too.
And yeah, yeah.
So he just, he just, he was very easy to work with that's why.
I want to say it was at spectacular.
I was at that final spectacular.
Are you going to get to come here?
Oh, is that where it was?
I make sense.
You want to do that?
I was kind of like, yeah, let's do it.
Oh, that makes sense.
Okay, good.
Yeah, because I think I was kind of have, I was planning my escape route at that point.
Joseph, any comedy spots that will let you air the show.
What do you mean?
I'm not sure what you mean.
Comedy stores?
I don't know what you mean.
I said before we really got more,
Martin's personality.
Yeah.
That was kind of the hope, right?
And you still haven't seen it all yet, obviously, right?
There's so much more, especially, like,
there's just that opening scene when you first meet her in the script that she's,
I just,
I can't picture anyone else doing it.
It's like she's just going to be,
and then you'll see it more in the opening video that we do for Kickstarter.
People will be excited when that comes out.
James Wheeler, Martinez, so sweet.
and funny. She really is. And she can
be a pain in the ass too, which I, what
I love about it. This is the same way than I am.
So I'll appreciate it too, actually. It's all vividly.
Can see the, can see Martini and the pilot.
Oh, yeah. Oh, you're right. Because he's right.
Yeah. How do you, how does your approach to comedian
form your approach to writing as well? Do you find the humor in
situations that maybe we don't usually do? You'll have to tell me when you,
when you guys see the show. You know what I mean? Because like,
I have some things, like I said,
like I know
speaking of the scenario that I
had in the script that PLD read
that said it just doesn't necessarily fit here
funny but doesn't work here
that's me putting a stand-up comedy joke
that actually happened to me
in the script and making it work for the character
and in that particular circumstance
not that it won't work in the series
but it didn't work there now
the flip side is I
told the joke back in the day
that
I could get away with back in 2004.
That maybe today you could get away with,
but you couldn't have gotten away with it in 2018.
Right.
And I brought that into the script
and put that into what Danny said,
and it worked good because he would say that kind of shit regardless.
Right.
And it worked out.
So,
Martini looks like a good person to,
a cool person to bounce ideas off and have fun.
Yeah, that's what's really been the essence of it.
it you know how's reacts to big balls is it all pretty much yeah 100% Mike Moudra can you you do know
who you're dealing with with how they react to big balls a hundred percent if they laugh initially
from seeing him and then hear what he says and they're still laughing you're good you know you're
good uh Mike Mooder can you have martini to her trick more often when she was I don't want to I don't
want to ruin it I've never seen that before by the way stopped I had never seen her do that before
and now I'm going to make her do that in the show.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
So, A.K., I don't know if you heard me this.
I addressed this before, but I'll address it again now.
Will the pilot be available for Kickstarter supporters before it finds a home after it's 100% done?
Yes, 100%.
That you guys, whether it's a Vimeo link, whether it's a DVD copy of it, whether it's whatever it might be, there will be, if you back this thing and we never, and we never sell it, you will see it.
you will see it because otherwise why would you why would you support it right you know you will see it yes 100% um let's see another great episode so
stanway's cronaldus with martini can't wait for our show to take flight thank you so much um so like the laugh
factor you mean like to air it you mean that's like a it's like a it's like a i feel like that's what you're
saying like a comedy sort of air the pilot i don't i mean like like like a screening or like a screening or something
I mean, maybe.
Maybe one of your old wants that knows you.
Maybe.
Jared Bennett, in a similar vein to other projects like our show,
I just came across a little series done by the kids from the Sandlot called
dugout Dad, super fun and well written.
Yeah, I love it.
That's what I'm saying.
Yeah.
We're living a different time now, right?
Where you have all these, as long as you can make the show now and if there's traction on it,
then let the streamers pick it up and everything too, right?
They're still going to be, let's not pretend that the streamers don't have the power to say,
look, we want eyes on it now.
Right.
But they don't have all the power anymore to say, well, we decide if it gets made.
They don't.
They don't have the power anymore to say it's made.
If you pitch it to them and you're pitching it to them to want them to say yes or no,
then they have the power.
But if we're doing it this way, and I'm telling you, like, you know, if, PLD, can you imagine
waking up to the fact that we do guild numbers?
Then we're making a series, man.
And we're not shooting for that.
I'm not telling people we're shooting for that.
I'm just saying that the sky is the limit or what is possible.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Walker, Martini is absolutely fantastic.
She has great energy.
She's naturally funny.
And together, you have great chemistry.
And she's low-key hot.
Low-key.
I love that.
Don't put her that.
I won't send her that.
I can't wait to see our show.
I think, you know, the difference is that this just shows you to the Gen X.
We're Gen X.
Low-key doesn't mean in our heads what low-key means to it.
You're right.
Because I only know that.
and Walker's going to go, you're 100% right.
That's exactly what I'm saying.
I only know that because of my daughter.
I had come in.
I was like, low key.
That's not what it means.
Dad, and she means this.
I'm like, I stopped trying to forget what happened.
Saul, Paul finding this role for himself is not surprising to anyone who knew him.
He was hustling when no one was looking.
PLD, he's talking about.
You didn't even know who he was talking about.
And he cared when no one expected him to.
It's true.
Haskell.
During Martini's live stream from her car,
I was kind of hoping we see a cop walk up from behind.
her car asking what she's doing, then explains she's doing and then promotes the pilot to him.
Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
I would have lost it.
Yeah, I totally would have lost it.
Haven't.
Midder's not.
Midder, not.
It'll be, I'll be waiting for the steelbook 4K collector's edition when it comes out, Christian,
physical media for the win.
I mean, so Craig, in full transparency,
Craig has been very adamant about that and I agree that we have to offer a physical copy of it,
and we're going to.
We're going to.
Mike Muter, Martinez, Tricks should be.
clip. I mean, we probably should send that to Kevin to turn it into a thing, but I don't know. Yeah. I mean,
even if you do have a prospect of selling it, it, you'll see it. Yeah, if you back in it, you're
going to see it. Right. You'll be able to see it. We're going to, you know, we'll probably ask
people whether or not to sign something or whatever it might be, you can't share it or you can't do
anything like that. That's why again, it'll be a link or, but with the physical copy, you can't
upload it and those types of things too. We'll probably have to make, for the physical copies,
probably have to sign something that you agree not to upload it.
But yeah, I mean, that's, I just feel like if you're putting money towards it,
you should see it and see what you, what you did, you know.
Need two more followers to hit 2060.
Come on, guys, purely put the link in there.
Right now currently, no, we three more followers, 2057, 2057.
So we need three more followers.
So let's do, let's do it.
Three more.
One fact, the first words, PLD ever said to me were, hey, FU.
That's when I knew I was going to get along with them.
Is that true?
That is true.
I don't know what the question was it.
Let's see.
I'm going to keep going.
Hold on.
Soundly, that's the show when talking about our show.
That's our show when talking about our show.
In addition to our show is trending and trending, of course.
Thank you, Soundway.
Let me see if I can do that in Soundway's voice.
That's the show when talking about this show.
That's our show.
When talking about our show, in addition to our show is trending.
Hashty trending.
Ors, Megatron.
Let's see.
Yeah, see?
You know.
I knew that.
I knew that.
Locke is very different than what we think it means.
World.
Oh, when you do flashbacks doing stand-of.
Thank you.
Well, yeah, one of the, so the actual scene that, you know, that we cut out was in, was, that the whole scene that Martinez said was expensive was at the comedy.
Yeah.
Okay.
He's one of, he's one of us who uses.
is, where is it?
Who uses Loki, like literally.
Yeah.
That's what it is.
Learn something to every day.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's exactly what it means.
Gen X don't get it.
That's,
that's one of the bits in the show, too,
is it's like trying to figure out
what the hell they're fucking talking about.
I don't know what they're saying.
I need a translator.
Yeah.
Okay, let's see.
So, Dilda pick,
Loki means it's the thing
without bragging about it being the thing.
You're right.
So it just replaced what low key used to mean.
Right, right.
Yeah.
To both of you and I are like,
she's not like that.
But here's the thing.
If I sent that to her, she would take it the way that you and I took it.
100%.
Right.
She'd get that copy.
I had to translate it.
Scott Element.
Chemistry between you two is great.
Nothing can replicate that.
It'll make our show much better.
And I think that's what it, that really is what it's all about.
And I think you're going to get that just in the video, you know.
A red carver.
See, I use low-key like sneaky hot.
Right.
Because Sam, you're significantly younger than us.
Okay, Dardy, if you make the pilot, is there a possibility of a second Kickstarter for an actual series?
I don't know the answer to that yet.
Because, you know, I want to see how, because for me, it's like, okay, let's see what kind of success we have from it first off, right?
Right.
Then let's see what happens when, let's say that we go for our goal, we shatter the goal up top, but we make enough, as you were asking before, okay, let's say we make enough that.
we just make a really glossy good pilot with a great cast great dp we got we made this like
and like we basically got the budget that netflix would give you or amazon or apple or peacock or
whoever we got that kind of budget right and that's what we did um well then you shoot it and you see
how it goes over and then you see if you're gonna sell it or not but if and let's say we we
go we're selling we we do it and we feel and everybody who saw like you aka as you asked
earlier. You see it. You go, this thing's great. I love this. Can't we for this to be a series?
Everybody who sees it, all the backers who see it, like, great, what's next? What's next?
And everybody loves it. But the studios and the streamers go, we don't really know what to do with it.
Then it's, okay, do we do something new? Do we do something else? Do we continue this? Do we try to do
this moving forward? Or do we say we made a pilot? I don't know the answer to that question yet.
I don't know, but then the other side of it is, I wake up in the morning after day one and we go,
holy shit, we might be able to do two episodes of this. We're going to do four, we're going to
seven, or we're going to do really glossy pilot. Let's cross that bridge when we get there.
But the problem to have great problems to have because, you know, we could be in a situation
where we wake up and we go, we're almost there, we're almost there, we just need, we just
to make the lowest version of this thing to make anything. We just need this guys.
Hopefully you support it.
I mean, that's where before when they asked that question about how am I feeling before we get close like that, I get nervous on all sides of things.
I get excited thinking about, oh, what if we did this?
But then I go into George Carlin, but what if we're here?
You know, and it's like, I'm like, so I don't, I don't, that's why I get nervous.
Did we beat Roca this week?
I don't think so.
I don't think so.
I think Roca had a really big donation at one point.
She still have a chance.
You still have a chance.
What I mean is she's pretty, is she's pretty as we saw her naturally, but I know that.
once you want she can look spectacular. I know exactly what you're saying. Yes, I know what you mean. I'm more
of a high key type of guy. I don't know what that mean. Can we get more big balls cups? The first
reactions with Christian, which big balls are singing movie. There is no bigger big balls fan than
Joseph Ashley because first of all, he designed big balls. But yeah, let's see, Atari fan for life.
Nah, I don't, I don't do that kind of stuff because I would, because I've been in a position where people
are coming after me. So I don't, I don't know, I don't know anything. I'm not talking about it.
some, nah. I'm concentrated on my
Kickstarter. Soundwave
Chronicles.
Love that. All of this is
contributing to the hype. Trending is
going to be huge. I'm off to Vegas.
I'm getting on our show to succeed.
Go bigger, go home. I'm going to win money
and blackjack and donate it all the trending.
Oh, wait, you didn't say that.
Mike Joyce, Atari fan
for life. Oh, yeah. All right. Ron
H. When your name is an acronym, you are
just destined for great things. Terrible, yes, but
great. Ha-ha, a little Potter from the potter.
down fair enough.
Avon, Christian, I hope your family and especially your daughters are super proud of you for everything
you achieve so far. It's very kind. I'm about to be a father myself and it's probably all I can
think about it. Yeah, and it's all you will. It's like that's that ultimately is what it's all about,
right? Because my like I said and I mentioned inside the thing where people say like,
you know, look, I'm not going to lie to you. When I was like in my mid-20s and this was happening,
I'd be like, oh yeah, and then I can do this level. Not I'd want to do this and then I'd want to do this.
I didn't have anybody else to think about. I just thought about myself. You know, you know, you know,
know how it goes.
I do.
Yeah.
My thing is I want to tell this story.
And then I want to say, okay, we all benefited from it.
But what I can do now is I can breathe a little bit easier and not worry about whether
or not, oh, someone's a sponsor came back and did them.
Like, ah, you know what I can do?
I can make sure my kids are comfortable.
I can make sure my wife is comfortable.
I can make sure that they supported me in the way that they did for as long as they did,
that I can say, you can do this now.
Right.
And I can say, okay, now I can do my podcast.
can do this, I can do that, I can relax.
And that's really what I'm aiming for for this is just like anybody else.
He's just trying to be kind of comfortable, but I really want to tell this story.
All right.
Tari fan for that.
Kristen's been doing the show for nearly three hours.
He prepped for it.
I highly doubt he's been following what's going on.
Yeah, I just, like I said, I mentioned this beforehand.
I am trying to 100% just focus all my energy for the next too much just on this.
And it's another reason why I don't do the shmoh down anymore.
because I don't want I don't put it I don't I don't keep up on everybody else it's not my
responsibility to at all yeah all right let's see I have been nothing as long as you own the
pilot you can shop it around for a few years if you have yeah it's true yeah we do I mean
it's me it's me Andrew and and martini you know well it's it's the three of us I love this
thank you a lot appreciate that at that rate the Kickstarter could act as a test screen and
show people you're shopping off to that people respond to it yeah I mean that's this is why I
keep trying to tell people, especially if you're watching this on the replay, and if you haven't
hit that button yet, why it is so crucial to hit that button, because if we get to, we get
to push right to the projects that we love page to Kickstarter on day one, and if we hit 5,000
pre-followers already, I think that we can do it. Just for in context, the, the guild had around
10,000. Yeah. Okay. So screwface. Where is he? High key is the opposite of the low key. I mean, I, I guess,
but I don't know what that means anymore.
Screw face.
I have no idea anymore.
Yeah.
It's like a church car,
like park in the driveway,
driving the parkway.
I don't know.
I don't understand anymore.
At that way,
thank you so much.
My cat looked at the TV with that voice.
I'm telling you when she did that,
was crazy.
It was absolutely great.
No offense.
I love the show.
No, you're all good.
Thank you, Tor.
So it really was pretty crazy.
Okay.
Oh, are they talking about the sound wave voice?
I think they're talking about the sound wave voice.
Okay.
Okay, PLD.
You find those actions clips of yours?
somebody was like, do you have acting clips?
I might.
I was a musical.
I was a theater major in college.
You got to show the acting clips.
I got to find them.
And did you find my acting real?
Because I told people to do, to, that shows.
I honestly didn't get a chance to really look yet.
But I also said, if you want to see my acting clips, I got to beat Roca.
Well, you today, right?
I mean, I guess you would, I guess you would actually be, you on the show today would
constitute as beating Roca because you were on.
Yeah.
This is true.
Yeah.
Boba Fed episodes 5 and 7 did drop.
We, we had recorded it.
episodes five and six and then I talked to PLD and I was like I kind of have to do seven I was like yeah you
kind of do so we waited so we did that and we did shoot one and two on um on on
mandolarian season three and then she's coming in on tuesday for us to do we're going to try to knock out
out of the way is to get all of mandolarian out of the way and done before the kickstar launches and then when we
launch we launch with zach Snyder's justice league so people who maybe brand new people who
never found the channel before find us maybe find the Kickstarter and want to want to you know help us
out with the project and then we're going to be doing x-men movies and other things so it'll be
dc e u and xman during the the kickstarter run so and i'm exporting the book of boba fat which is
why i'm a little laggy here and there uh uh ron h uh oh my kids are able to see this kids
i'm really just trying to get this cage person to watch a pilot i like didn't mean to get in so much
trouble. Love y'all. Remember, I can embarrass you all. Thank you, Ron. We know it. Screw face.
I don't know what to say, but I'm going to donate because you read my last one. Thank you.
By the way, Invincible reactions are my favorite part of this channel now. We have so much fun with those.
That, you know, I'll tell you what. Well, if it wasn't for the fact that those peeps over at
Demon Slayer, you know, hit the copyright stuff. And if Winston was in studio, I would do so much more
Winston because I like watching stuff with him too.
But Ming and I just laugh our freaking asses off
when we do stuff. Like those
those those reactions are great
because we just, you know,
I have to find a new way to get him
with the scream every every video.
So good. It's so good. Yeah.
Okay, let's say. I'm
definitely watching that reaction. There you go.
I watch all the reactions while you're dinner. Thank you.
I'm wondering if there's any
movie cuts to these. Yeah, I think what we're going to
There are.
And you know what?
What I actually, I was, I was kind of contemplating after the fact.
I was like, should I have done the Boba Fett cut?
But then I don't know how much he cuts out of the, those moments that happen in the
Mandalorian stuff.
And I wanted her to see those as full episodes.
But I will be watching the Patterson cut of Asoka, because we're not watching that whole
series.
We're going to watch the Patterson cut of that as a movie.
So that will be something we're definitely going to do for sure.
yeah um yeah this is this this this is really i'm zing i'm laughing to see sam oh yeah well remember they
she shouldn't have as much context because they just kind of show up in the episode she's watching
we don't watch all above the we just watch those uh all right here's one for pl d a question for
pl d hello we're gonna just try to i'll give them this one we're gonna if if you want to keep us on
any other questions about the show itself we'll stick around if not we're gonna we're
bounce. But if you have any more questions about it, anything else about, I still want to know
people's, what did you get? Here, let me ask you guys this question. I can highlight these
questions too before we ask this. So do you have a more, a clearer idea about what the show is
about when Martini and I are talking about it? Do you understand the dynamic between the two of us?
do you see it more, do you trust in the fact more so that her and I are going to do something
together and make something?
You know, you know, you've even read it yet, so you don't know.
Oh, yeah, you can definitely pull this off.
I mean, Saul and PLD can say that right now.
But that's what I'm curious.
I want to get, like, what you took out of the interview.
And I want to see this on Discord.
I go through the Discord because I want to be more active in Discord.
But there's like, there's like five or six comments in the pilot thread.
But like, I want to see a bunch in there because I'll interact with that all day.
long because like I said I give like exclusive scoops in there sometimes too for for that one so
if you haven't joined the discord or you do it but besides just the general tab please get involved
in the pilot tab because the general tab to me gets a little overwhelming it's like so much there's just so
much shit in there I'm like okay they're talking about this now and then I just go to the pilot tab
to see what's going on he will spill things folks he wants to spill things I want to tell everybody
everything um all right let's see um no that's not
Okay, let's say.
Do you have an answer to Star Wars one?
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sorry.
Question for PLD.
What are your opinions in the current trajectory
at Lucas from Disney or are on with Star Wars
in the route they're taking with Thrawn and Rebels?
Patience.
That's what I think.
I think Filoni's taking over now.
I want to see how they develop things.
I want to see Starfighter does.
I'm more interested in seeing 10, 11 and 12 with that
because that's going to really cement what Faloni's plan is.
Thron and Rebels,
Throne is fine.
Rebels is good.
I is a big Star Wars fan.
It's the Star Wars and the Star Wars in the show.
If you watch the animated stuff,
which I did and I love the animated stuff,
I'm good with what they're doing,
but it's not exactly the most commercial thing
for everybody else.
But that's okay.
So we have to have a commercial thing
and have a niche thing,
and if they do that,
I'm happy with that plan.
Yeah, okay, that's fair.
Soundwave, should I do it in a sound?
No, I can't do it because this is a real question.
Big picture talk.
Could you ever see a feature length format for our show?
If you smash out six to seven seasons,
then there's demand for it.
Never say, never.
Oh, I see what you're saying.
I didn't initially read that the way,
but if you knock out
seven seasons and they're like oh my god it was so great you guys got to do a movie one more movie to
follow up who knows right you're right never say never i think i know exactly kind of where it goes
where it ends um but you never know i mean things things could happen in general and uh so it's possible
yeah six seasons in a movie yeah scott ellen you've mentioned not being a fan of doing virtual
reactions but you still be doing braveheart with lincoln for the kickstarter do it let the english so you do it
i think we're going to do something with lincinnon for the kickstarter um i'm gonna be doing something
with Luke for his channel and he's going to do something on this channel.
We didn't realize for as much stuff that he reacts to.
He hasn't seen a lot of shit.
He's also in a baby.
He's a baby.
So,
Joseph Ashley.
Are you planning on getting more action figures for suit?
Nah,
I think those days are behind me, dude.
Yeah.
Martini is great.
She is.
She really is.
Devon, after that,
Christian has writing partner on talking about the TV pilot they wrote and the Kickstarter for it.
What did I miss?
All right, he, I think
what did you want to ask him about X-Men?
Oh, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, Devin, that was, so for the first 30 minutes,
I gave everybody all the movie news stories and everything.
If you're just here for the movie news, totally cool.
So all the people come here for it.
So the first 30 minutes are exactly that movie news.
And then right after that, my writing partner and Co-Star came in
to talk about the project.
So there you go.
Okay, do I know what based means?
Yes, I do.
because that I found out from you guys.
I guess it means just more like in the middle,
level-headed type thing, I guess that's what that means.
I thought base means, that's awesome.
It's based.
I thought.
Base meant like level-headed, like on point.
Who was right?
Near PLD.
I don't know.
Just when I thought that I was right.
Yeah.
I see everything that you're saying.
It feels like you and Martini are having great fun together creating our show.
Thank you, Mike.
I really like Mike.
Nice guy.
Martini's mother.
Is that something new?
That's something that's a new one.
Yeah.
Oh, my niece is the mother of the kid, I think.
Oh, is that what he's saying?
Maybe, I don't know.
You don't know.
A.K. Dardy.
Eric, from Blindway, was showing his wife Clone Wars and editing it as full arcs instead of episodes.
Would you consider doing that with Sam eventually?
I mean, let me see how, I mean, I got this year ahead of us first, right?
We got so much that we got ahead of us.
Same thing.
Never say never.
I don't know.
So, Blaine.
This is actually pretty good.
I wonder how the trending pens will be a good.
good and expensive reward. Even hands them out to coworkers. That's actually a pretty good idea.
You know what? Let me save that.
Trending pins and be. Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to do that. I'm going to put that.
That might be something that's good. Yeah, I think it, oh, maybe you're right. Does it mean awesome?
All right. Maybe you're right. Oh, no. See, it means real, unfiltered.
Right. So it's like, I don't know.
Both. I don't know. I'm too all for this world, man.
Yeah. I'm confused.
Anyway, all right, look, that's pretty good.
We have 171 questions.
So you never know.
You never know.
We might get, we might be Roka.
Who knows?
Maybe not.
But nonetheless, we had a really good show here today.
Thank you to PLD.
Thank you to Martini, Peritori, for joining us today.

It was pens.
Pens and pins will be good.
Pins and pins will be good.
Sure.
Pins too.
Maybe he did that by accident.
I don't know.
That's good too.
Accidental genius.
You'll see.
Are there any more questions?
No.
No?
Yeah.
So Roka's going to be on solo by himself on Monday.
Yes.
Well, no, I guess not solo.
This PLD will be.
I mean, unless you've got plans for the holiday.
I don't believe so.
Okay.
So Roka and PLD potentially.
And Tuesday, I'll be back in full swing.
did have an announcement that Roxy will be back full swing kind of doing four episodes a month.
Her and I spoke yesterday.
So for that one asshole face that keeps writing it, get the fuck out of my life.
And then things I've been working on.
And then so, but everything else too.
So that's, that's exciting that she's going to be able to do that.
She'll be back four days a week.
And then we will be back on Wednesday with Smetzy.
Smetz's back full swing.
That's exciting.
Thursday, Chris Carr will be on Friday. Winston will be on. So I didn't get a chance to do a show
with Winston this week. So I'll be looking forward to that. And then we are getting closer and
closer and closer to the Kickstarter launch. If you're watching this on replay or if you are listening
to this on Spotify or on Apple podcast and you have not hit that link, I really, really hope that
you guys will consider hitting that notify button. Just go to our show is trending.com. That's it.
