The NBA playoffs are here, and now you can trade every game on Cali.
You can also trade on who wins each series, the conference finals, and the championship.
San Antonio is currently trading at 22% to win it all, meaning a $100 trade pays out $455 if they take the title.
On Calci, you're trading against other people in a live market, no house, no odds makers.
And as the odds move, you can buy in or out any time throughout the post season.
For a limited time, download the Calci app and use code hoops to get $10 when you trade $10.
KLSHI, Calci, trade on anything.
Progressive presents adjusting to the suburbs.
I never thought about space in my cramped apartment,
but in this house, all I see is empty space.
The sofa and ottoman look like tiny islands and a sea of hardwood floors.
I could get two Ottomans in the living room,
but then I'd need another sofa.
I could tell people I'm into minimalism.
Anyway, when you save with Progressive by mumbling your home at auto,
that's the easy part of adjusting to the suburbs.

Hello, everybody. Welcome back. It's another episode of The Big Thing, and the big thing today, man, it is a big episode for a lot of different reasons.
We're going to be talking about why the last man. I've told you guys about it. Look at this. I got the graphic novel. I knew it was sitting on my shelf still. It was one of the first graphic novels that I ever read that I loved. I just loved that it stuck with me.
and I watched the first episode last night,
but I got Bonnie Somerville here.
She watched it.
We're going to talk about heels and everything else
and what she's been up to.
So much to talk about with my pal, Bonnie Somerville.
But before we do that, I want to remind you guys,
it's coming up, October 8th in New York,
New York Comedy Club, myself and Mark Ellis.
We're going to be there.
You can get tickets at mark ellis.
Live.
You can get tickets in the description of this video.
Another one, this one just came about,
and it just happened.
So I'm pumped to.
about it. On September 26th in Los Angeles, it's going to be Burbank at Flappers. It's going to be my first
set in Los Angeles in over like 12 years. So if you're around and Mark Ellis is on the bill,
Jamie Costa, Jake Lewis, a lot of great comedians on it. Justine Marino, Real Battle,
Lauren Howard Hayes, all on the card. So I say card, like it's a fighting card, but all in the
bill. So make sure you go and check it out. You can get the
the link in the description of this video also.
But lots of stuff coming up.
I'm excited to talk to Bonnie Somerville.
We're going to have some fun.
You're going to be with us.
It's the big thing.
Check us out, ladies and gentlemen.
Here we go.
Bonnie Somerville.
Fuck yeah, dog.
Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen.
It is.
Big thing.
I'm Christian Harlow.
Thank you for joining us here today.
On Wednesday,
make sure that you are subscribing to us on Apple podcast,
Spotify,
everywhere the podcasts are found.
And I know that a lot of you guys have come on over
and rediscovered the show
and so many great compliments
that this reminds you
of the Toad Hop era or old school Schmo's No.
And I've made it very clear.
I think this is the most fun
and probably my favorite show that I've ever done.
Obviously Schmodeown included.
I like having just straight conversations
with people, no interruptions.
And who better to do that with?
Then this lady, Bonnie Somerville is here,
ladies and gentlemen.
Bonnie, what up, yo.
What up, yo.
How are you doing?
I'm doing good.
I'm good.
Long time, long time.
Well, long time, long time for us to be actually like talking on the air together.
We haven't done that in a little bit.
I'm happy to be back in the studio.
Use the microphone, yeah.
I'm happy to be back in the studio.
I'm heard of have you back in the studio.
It's like we talked about this.
When are we going to do a show together?
Here we go.
When?
Right now.
Oh, this is it?
Oh, okay.
I thought we were, I thought you were pitching me a show right now.
This is it.
This is the show.
Oh, this is the show.
He does as you and I type in a conversation.
Oh, I'm so happy.
Chit chatting away.
So, I'm so happy to be here.
A little chatty, a little chit.
A little chit.
So what is going on with you?
Hey, Vicki Rabies.
Yes, Vicki Rabies.
How cool is that?
What a fun show that was.
Oh, my God, it was so much fun.
I hope they bring me back.
They will.
I'm talking about heels, obviously.
Yeah.
If you haven't seen this on stars,
what a fun show.
As a wrestling fan.
I thought of you immediately.
But it's legit.
You can just tell that these are people
who really understand the business.
Did you understand the business a little bit more now?
Because you weren't a big wrestling fan going into it,
but like a little bit more, do you have like a deeper appreciation of wrestling?
Absolutely.
I told them, I told everybody on set about you and said, you know,
explained the schmodeon and where it came from
and how I used to go watch the fights with you and all the guys.
And I really didn't get it.
Right.
And now I have such an appreciation for their athleticism.
It's crazy.
I'm sure.
And even more so what's so crazy about all of that,
is that so here you are you get cast and i remember when you when you told me and you're like
guess what the show is it's called heels and i go about wrestling you're like oh yeah right yeah but
besides that you're like oh yeah and then you do you know the guy that i got cast with like Phil brooks
are you kidding me seeing punk yeah i didn't even know i had no idea i just but i'm sure that's
actually probably is that more helpful to you like the fact that you you know to you working with
another actor. Like now, now one of the biggest wrestlers, again, one of the biggest wrestlers in the
world. Yeah, I mean, it probably was helpful because it didn't make me nervous at all. I mean,
I literally had no idea until you told me. So funny. He's awesome, but yeah, I don't know names of
wrestlers. I don't, I mean, I don't follow it, but now I'm like, it's so good. Did you see his
return? Yes. You sent it to me. What did he do? He just sat on the stage and, like, people,
people screamed for what, hour? That's when he returned for, so there was, so I told you I
interviewed him like a week beforehand and people are you going to ask him he's like you think of
fucking tell him if he's going back why would you ruin the surprise right so i just like i think i
i barely mentioned to him where i was like there's rumors you going back but never straight up
asked them because first of all why is he going to tell me if it's a week or two weeks out second of all
why do i want to ruin the surprise if he decided it's like yeah i'm coming back people would be
pissed and that would ruin that that energy that moment so he comes out he has that big moment and
people are losing their minds because he hadn't returned to wrestling and something like that
seven or eight years.
Really?
Oh yeah.
He was out.
His last thing that he did was he basically shit all over the WW.
And he continues to just saying like that it was it was the way that they worked him
to the bone and he just, he wasn't having fun anymore.
Right.
I remember him saying that to me.
He seems to be having a lot of fun now.
But he wrestled.
He wrestled recently and he won.
He came back and he won.
How old is he?
Forty-one?
No.
He's not that young.
Yeah.
Really?
Something like 40, 41?
Let me double check.
I can't see.
I mean, he's, he's, uh, remember, the guy's been through the rig.
Yeah, he's 42.
42.
Wow, he's younger than me.
Yeah, he looks like, you know, he's hard.
He's been through the, he's had a life, man.
He's, he's not only his wrestling career.
He fought in MMA.
Oh, he did?
Yeah, he fought in the UFC.
Wow.
Yeah, he fought.
He's, he's, he's done, you know, he's, and he's a great commentator on on MMA, loves the fight game.
And, I, he did.
I thought he was great in heels.
Yeah, he was.
I was surprised.
I was surprised because when I found out he was a real wrestler.
Yeah, he was like, oh.
Working with like an athlete of football players.
Nobody was really good.
He went for it, every take.
He really did, and you could tell how much, like, fun he was having there.
And anyway, so the fact that he's back now,
and I thought that was great timing for you guys.
Did he plan that after?
Was that whole thing orchestrated, like go back to wrestling after heels airs?
I don't know.
No, you know, it's probably a better question to ask him now.
But, I mean, the thing that I danced around was the fact when he was talking about,
I was like, you're in there and you're wrestling.
You get like the urge back and he downplayed.
He's like, nah, not really.
I'm like, you're full of shit when he's telling me.
But again, not going to pressure the guy.
But no, I think that maybe that he was speaking.
Mike is the showrunner?
Yeah, Michael Mallee, the best.
And I think Michael Mallee, I wonder if he told Mike.
I would assume that he did.
I would assume that he did because maybe the new design when that show comes out
because it was great timing that the show came out,
that your episode with him came out a week after that announcement.
Yeah, I mean, it had to be some plan because it was huge.
Massive.
He just sat on the stage and people just screamed Danielle.
He didn't do it.
He just was like kneeling.
He didn't do anything.
It's gone for years.
Wow.
It's been gone for years.
And now, but his match, he looked good.
He looked good in the ring.
He hit the moments, was in there with a kind of young up-and-coming guy and he won.
And they're going to, and they're going to be smart and they're going to market around him.
And he gets to do it on his schedule because the guy who's running that organization,
a Tony Kahn, he's like a full wrestling fan.
They're starting to really take on the WWE right now.
They're making a big move.
So with getting him and the talent that they have right now, AEW is the name of it.
But I was telling him, I think that they should do it.
It's the DWF, is that what it is?
Yeah.
Is it DWF?
DWF.
DWF.
DWF.
DWF.
DWF.
DWF.
So I think that they should do a full-on YouTube channel with the actual
characters, everybody in K-Fabeb.
So you would see Vicky and Ricky doing like promos, but in character on that channel
and doing things.
And you actually create the league inside of a YouTube.
So it's like the K-Fabe is real inside of that channel.
That would be fun.
It would be a lot of fun.
Yeah, I mean, I know they'd be.
brought him back for one they didn't bring me back but you know they said they would i mean obviously we're a
team you know and and the mike the showrunner was saying you know maybe vicky and ricky come here and
they see that there's there's money to be made here and they become a part of and they're kind of like
grifters you know they kind of and i was like sign me up you have to the only thing that you're
going to have to you that your character and you are going to have to be dependent on now is is phil's
schedule right because of the wrestling and everything too but they made it work for this and he comes
back.
He can't come back without Vicky.
Gotta come back with Vicki.
Vicki's his valet.
And why not?
She can be like a mentor.
What's it?
Yeah.
Yeah.
And that's what I thought.
She's like the younger me.
And I see,
and I don't want her to make the same mistakes that I did.
She's a mentor.
I like that.
And I want to see,
because of the internet and what has happened with,
you know,
what you can do in building,
like look at the Shmodown, right?
Shmodown is a trivia league
that can run off of Patreon and all these other things.
If the DWF,
got some viral videos out,
created some stars,
and did stuff.
Inside of the fictional world,
they could run a Patreon.
They could run these things.
They could survive.
He's struggling to get fog machines.
He could find a way to
promote that, make it work,
and there's a lot of potential.
Look at you.
You got to pitch to Michael.
We'd love to.
I would love to talk to my type of show.
This is your type of show.
This is my type of show.
Totally.
And the wrestling was so good.
I was shocked at the, at the,
all the, everything.
The coordinators and the,
the stunt guys, but they did their own stunts mostly.
I mean, Stephen broke his back the first week of shooting.
He's a fucking madman.
He's crazy.
He'll do anything.
He'll do any stunt.
Well, when he did, he, when he was, he wrestled.
And there was a video where he just jumped out of the ring.
He's a lunatic.
I love it.
But that's why.
And Alex is a really good athlete, too.
Alex is really impressing me in this show.
Because Alex reminds me of like an old school, you don't, you know, there's a wrestler
called, he's still around now, Edge.
And, like, he's got a wrestler's body.
And he looks, it was.
great casting.
Yeah.
What I didn't realize was that, so my Vivian, my daughter was watching,
I was watching a trailer for, I think it's race to which mountain, whatever the remake was with Dwayne Johnson.
Alex is in that as a kid.
He is?
Oh, yeah.
I heard he was a kid actor.
So.
He was in the Hunger Games, too.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So that was the first time I remembered him, but I didn't say, I saw him in this trailer.
And I immediately thought of heels because there's a reference in the show.
where Stephen's talking to Alex, I think he's talking to Alex,
and he says to him that he was, and he reached out to the rock.
And he says, I reached out to the rock, challenged the rock.
I didn't realize that there's an actual connection there with Alex,
knows Dwayne, whether they still keep in contact.
I have no idea.
But if you could get him over on a particular show to do it,
I mean, this was why this show is so brilliant.
This show is so smart because you can take, you can turn this fictional league
and turn it into a YouTube channel,
turn it into these things,
do these promos,
have some events,
do these certain things that you could do,
and you could capitalize on it
with the merch and stuff,
you could really sell.
God,
you are the hustler of all hustlers.
This is just right at my alley.
I would love,
I mean,
is Michael Mallet?
Is he in Los Angeles?
Yes, I think so.
I gotta get that fucker in.
You do.
I got to get him in here.
You do, because he would love talking to you.
He's awesome.
He's so great.
Follows me.
I've got to try,
reached out to me and you didn't respond to me back,
but I'm going to get him,
I'm going to get him on the show.
I'm going to get him here.
Listen, let's do a YouTube channel.
You and me, buddy, come on.
It's not, I just want to see it.
I would buy, I'm waiting for the shirts.
I'm waiting for, like, when you start getting characters, the Ricky Rabies merch.
Oh, yeah, the rabies merch.
Sell the Rebbe's merch.
Yeah.
Sell the merch.
They had some great DW sweatshirts.
I wanted one.
They gave one to Paul.
Yeah.
I didn't get one, but I have a T-shirt and a hat.
Oh, I saw it.
I took some pictures.
Yeah.
Oh, my God.
It was so fun.
Plus, you know, you know me.
I never get to play those big characters.
knows me in person, I'm like friends, like you,
you're always like, how do you not play these characters?
I always play like a cop or a normal person.
You mean your name and comedy also, which is...
Yeah, but I never get to play over the top big.
I never get to do, you know, period films or accents.
And that's like my, that's like my favorite thing.
You had a blast.
It was so much fun.
And that scene when we went into the ring, that was a long-ass day.
You know, with the drone and the rats.
It was so much fun, though, just...
I mean, they said, actually...
and I just was like, I just went for it.
And afterwards, I was like getting dizzy from all the screaming.
It was so fun.
It sounds like a blast.
It was a blast.
It's in Atlanta.
Yeah.
At the very least, if I can't get Mike to start his own YouTube channel with thing,
I got to try to be there for a match.
I got to try to be there for a match, especially if you come back.
Definitely come visit.
I would love to visit that set.
That is like that, when that show was announced, even before I even knew that you were,
what you were doing with it, when that show was announced, I was like,
oh, man, this could, it's because.
It's funny.
Most people felt this way after watching it.
And when I was talking to Phil,
we both said the same thing.
It's Friday night lights.
Yeah.
But it's a wrestling.
Yeah.
And because of the way that he approaches the content,
the way that it's,
you can have this humorous moments.
Like, for example,
Alex is,
they're having sex,
him in Crystal,
and the big guy is taking a dump.
And he comes out.
You're like,
I'm going on,
I'm going to finish my shit later.
I'm just walking.
And it's like,
but it's not like this goofy humor.
It's like,
okay,
the guy was trying to take a dump.
And he just,
He couldn't, so he's trying to have respect and walks out.
There's moments like that.
And then there's really serious moments, like the stuff that happens with the dad.
And it's great.
Yeah, it's got everything.
I think it's got something for everybody.
I was never a big wrestling fan, but after that, I was, I'm like, okay, I'm a fan.
You just need to watch some old school stuff, too.
I think you could really, once.
I just didn't.
I thought it was all fake.
See, that's, that's the biggest misconception with it.
It's like the showmanship is fake and the, you know, the acting of it.
But the wrestling is real.
It's the pitch.
It's the pitch of it all back in the day, right?
The pitch of it all, when we were growing up as kids,
was that it was a real sport.
So when we were growing up, there was always that argument in our school.
That's fake.
What are you watching fake sports for?
It's all predetermined.
And the wrestlers are like, it's not because you don't say fake
because what they're doing, as you just said, it's not fake.
It's not fake.
It is choreographed.
But when they, down the line when the sports entertainment element comes on it,
the way that I always say to someone like yourself,
it's a television show.
You're not a real cop.
You're really shooting people.
No, I really shoot people.
You really shoot people.
I'm methods.
I need bullets.
Real bullets.
Rubber bullets.
No, no.
Real bullets.
Your bullets, the words would come out of your mouth.
But that's what I would say.
You know, you just watch it like it was, it's soap opera.
It is high theater.
It's circus.
It's...
But they really, really
They go for it.
They fight.
Yeah.
I mean, I mean, and I never realized that they really do that shit.
Broken nose.
Oh, my God.
And all the stories that Paul would fill, sorry, Phil, Phil would tell us, you know, about back in the day, like the guys with the razor blades in their mouths and, you know, cutting themselves for blood.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
He's like, I was never a razor guy.
Never.
That's disgusting.
Well, yeah, it was very different in how it worked in, like, the 60s, 70s, 8, even.
even in the 80s, right?
And then, so I don't know how much you know about it,
but Vince McMahon, the way that, this is what this show,
Heels reminds me of, it's like, there's these territories.
So the territories were really how,
if they had their own TV shows, whether it was Tennessee,
and New York, Vince always had New York.
WWF had New York, and that was the big promotion.
But it wasn't a national thing.
Vince started eating up all the promotions from all over the country,
and then he just made it the WWF,
so he would steal all the big stars from all the different promotions
offer him bigger contracts,
and then those just kind of got shut down.
That's why this show reminds me of, like, one of the territories,
and he's even playing with that.
Mike writes all this stuff, too?
Yeah, there's writers, but he writes himself.
You can tell.
He's just a massive wrestling fan because, like, you can tell.
Well, the guy that created it is a huge wrestling fan,
and he had this, I think he tried to have it made,
I forget it 10 years ago or something.
Well, Phil said, yeah, because Phil said that he was approached for it around.
I think Phil was up for Stephen's role.
He said it, and he gave a speech at the,
at the premiere that was so inspiring about, you know, not giving up.
And, you know, like from an old dream, you know, once, blah, blah, blah.
I mean, it was sitting around forever.
Yeah, that's what they had said.
But you can tell that there's a lot of love put into this show.
Yeah, a lot.
And the territories and the way that they handle it.
So I'm excited to see where it goes.
Absolutely would love to speak to Michael Malley about this.
But I'll get on that right away.
I'll have my people call his people.
I'm going to tweet this episode out to him.
Hopefully he sees it.
Either way.
So let's move on there.
What else is going on?
Blue Bloods.
Blue Bloods.
Blue Bloods.
No, Blue Bloods.
Blue Bloods?
Blue Bloods?
Is that the name of the show now?
Blue Bloods.
Not going to say what that sounds like.
I'm not on it not right now, but they could bring me back.
They could bring you back.
So where did you care?
Actually, there's a photo of me that's going to be on the next episode.
If you guys want to see a picture on set, that's me.
Where did your character lead off?
She didn't.
She came to dinner and with the son that they find out is the grandson.
And they have dinner.
and then the next episode he was there without me.
I was like, well, that's kind of bullshit.
That was it.
Yeah.
What, that's a...
Because he's a member of the family.
I'm not.
I was just a girlfriend that got knocked up.
Yeah, I'd love to go back.
And I mean, anytime I could go to New York for any reason to work, it's the best.
Yeah.
So how long was it shoot in New York?
You just go and hang on your mom when you were.
Well, no, because we had to quarantine first.
All right, because that's when you shot at that.
Yeah.
So you had like seven days in a, in an 11th.
luxury hotel doing nothing.
For you.
I mean, of course I went out.
I'm not supposed to.
Of course I did.
Oh, poor you.
But then it's great.
Yeah, a nice hotel.
You're in my hometown and, you know, see friends.
I love it.
Did you, and you hung out with your mom a lot.
Always.
Yeah, so what else?
So those are the main things right now going on.
Yeah?
You got, you work on anything as far as, I know, you always got pretty, your podcast, obviously.
Trying the podcast.
What do you mean trying?
Well, it's kind of hard, the podcast.
It's hard.
I know.
You're so successful.
It's really hard.
It's a lot of work.
And Dave does all the work.
He records it, he edits it, he does all the work.
It's consistency.
It's hard getting guests.
Well, I mean, you got to, that's what I told you, you got a bulk tape.
And if you're not doing it live, you just got a bulk tape.
Yeah.
We have a few coming out, and I want to get back into it.
Because people do love it, and I love doing it.
It just seems like getting, getting the guests is hard and getting the numbers.
I mean, you know what I mean?
Getting people to listen and tune in.
I told you.
Why are you not promoting on your own personal Instagram is beyond me?
I don't understand that.
Because.
Because.
Well, I do.
I do.
I do.
I need to do more.
I need to do more.
Yeah.
Anyone out there listening, go follow my podcast second underscore act underscore podcast.
A lot of great guests on that show.
Yeah, really good guess.
And I'm just trying, you know, it's, it was hard with COVID too.
It's a hard time to launch anything.
It's tough.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I didn't realize that you actually had a real job and it took some effort, you know.
Oh, yeah.
That was the only, that was just throw on a light about like a fucking, like a fucking
like an asshole.
whole face. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it's actually. You actually had to work hard to build that brand.
Well, look what I've done. I don't know. You're probably not as familiar what I've been doing
lately with this one is that I always doing something. I don't know. Do you have 700 things going on?
I had to do this because the main channel that we used to be on, it was coming, it was becoming too
congested, right? There was too much shit on there with all the Shmodeown stuff, with everything else,
with S-E-N-Live, all that stuff. It was just, it was too much. And people were like, well, what the
fuck is this channel? Plus,
On the other channel, you know, it was, you would have these conversations and it was digital and then the robot would come in and all these things.
And some people love the interaction.
Other people like, I'm looking for a conversation and I can't get to the conversation because I got a robot coming in every fucking five minutes and I can't do it.
Some people love it, but some people are like, I can't do with it.
That's a little crazy.
It just depends on what you're there for.
If you're there to interact and play games with the crew and so we moved that show over to Twitch.
So that show is now over to Twitch.
And then I wanted to make sure for me that I had a show like this, where,
I could bring in my friends, talk some shit, have some fun,
talk about whatever the fuck we wanted to talk about.
And the audience has responded.
I moved it off the main channel.
And we went from like, I think when we moved everything over there,
was like 8,000 subscribers or something.
We're approaching like 15,000 right now.
We're moving, every day we have something on there,
short form content.
But it's been great.
And the audience is really responding to it.
So sometimes you just got to jump, you know?
Yeah.
Leap.
And the net will appear.
100%
What's, um,
Jedi.
So last,
last night,
Bonnie was looking to what should I,
what should I check out?
And I said,
well,
why the last man?
Which is this novel,
this graphic novel,
that I absolutely love by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerrera.
Do you only read books with pictures and coloring?
Come on.
Star Wars books too.
Yeah.
Oh,
well,
deep.
Deep.
My daughter has read way more than probably you and I put together at this point.
Not me,
but definitely you.
I know,
you read a lot, but I'm telling you what this kid is, the way that this kid reads, that's all I ever did.
It's un-fucking-beligible.
I used to get yelled at to go outside and play.
It's unbelievable.
Oh, I know.
You read Harry Potter.
That's what you read.
And Star Wars.
No, it's not.
It's his.
He's like, Star Wars.
And lots of books with cartoons.
I don't know.
Is that, is that the case?
I'm not sure.
There's a lot of, I mean, there's definitely a lot of Star Wars.
A lot of stuff is like a, a lot of stuff is like, a lot of stuff.
There's all the stuff on the, like, you know, it's more like the behind-the-scenes stuff and all that kind of stuff.
that's that's stuff that's always been very interesting.
You need pictures.
You need pictures.
You want to get into asshole territory?
No, no.
Dress it up like a cougar?
I've,
what?
I've passed that point in my life.
I've matured now.
The leopard.
I'm engaged now.
You are.
I'm a taken matured lady.
Yes, you are.
And so I had Bonnie answered to Bonnie.
It was like, do me in favor, watch this show so we can talk about it
because I need to talk to somebody about it.
It's on Hulu.
I think it's FX.
than on Hulu.
I don't remember, but it's on Hulu.
And I was very excited to see it.
And so for those people who don't know,
it's like, it starts out, it's like post-apocalyptic,
and you're like, what's happening?
Is this another zombie outbreak?
What's happening?
And so you just see all these dead bodies everywhere,
and there's this kid and this monkey.
You're like, well, who the hell of these two?
And then it flashes back and you see
what basically is going down.
and it's that all the dudes just keep dropping dead.
All the women are good to go.
Of course.
As they should be.
You know, as we should be.
But it's so funny because some people are going to say,
oh, this is just part of the woke agenda to do this show.
This graphic novel's been out for years.
Really?
Years.
And it's been in a very highly anticipated transformation.
They wanted to see it.
Shaila Booth was attached at one point to play the main character.
Who is that guy? Where is he from?
I don't know, but he's good.
Yeah, he's good, but it's surprising to see an unknown.
I'm excited to see unknown people in television because it's gotten to the point where
it's all off for only and this and that.
As you know, everyone takes our jobs now, every movie star.
So I like to see, like, new discoveries.
I like this kid.
And I didn't know who he was when he showed up.
And I was like, fits the role for me, right?
There's a lot of differences from, like, in the show, he goes to have dinner with his
girlfriend, she's kind of planning to go into Australia.
In the beginning of the graphic novel, she's already in Australia.
And the, and, but his mom is, is a senator and all this stuff is going on with the,
I did like how they actually, because this graphic novel is, I don't know, it's 15, 16,
shit, maybe 20 years old at this point.
I don't know.
They had to adapt it to fit today, right?
Because there are, there are a couple different things that they, they threw in there.
I didn't recognize, I'm Amber Tamlin.
I didn't realize that.
No.
Yeah, so she was, she's in the, in the,
show Diane Lane, obviously, is what you're talking about.
I love Diane Lane.
She doesn't, she never ages.
She's so beautiful.
She's gorgeous, and she's such a good actress.
Yeah.
Everything.
Yeah, everything.
I love that.
She's great.
And she fits this role.
She's this senator that is, you know, in hot water with the president because she's
very outspoken, but it's not a spoiler for anybody because you know the premise of it.
The president needs shit, right?
All the dudes eat shit.
And so she becomes.
the president and so
it ends off with you
assume she does but it ends off the first episode
ends off with them like this
what is going to happen how is this going to play out
because this kid is the only one alive and why
because the Y chromosome right but like
why is he the last
man standing so I love
that you you said eh
yeah how come
it's just not your thing you know I don't like those shows I'm just not
an apocalyptic I don't mean no
Star Wars it's just not my jam I just don't
sci-fi
This isn't Star Wars.
You didn't like...
I don't like...
Twelve monkeys?
You didn't like 12 monkeys?
No.
Oh, okay.
No, I didn't like 12 monkeys.
I saw it in the theater.
I didn't like it.
And I, you know, I don't like...
It's not your thing.
I tried to get into the Walking Dead.
I forced myself on a flight to New York.
I watched five.
I just couldn't...
No, I don't...
No.
Like, I don't like graphic novels.
I don't like comic books.
But that's not...
But that has not...
I mean, the fact that it's a comic book,
I mean, there's tons of things that, you know...
Listen, if it was set in medieval England
in the 15th century, you'd have me.
You'd have me.
Why don't you look at it in regards to,
let's take your approach as far as the acting
and as far as how it was shot.
Yeah, I like the way it was shut,
beautifully shot.
The story's just not for you.
It's not like you don't look at it and go,
this is bad, you just go,
this is just not for me.
No, it's just not something
that I would be riveted by.
It's funny because I,
you would assume knowing my wife
that she wouldn't like this, right?
We saw the trailer for it,
and she was like, oh, that looks interesting.
And I'm like, okay, so we watched it last night.
Or I guess what was the time they say it was two nights ago.
And as we were watching it, I'm like, I wonder how she's responding to.
And she liked it a lot.
And then once they get to the actual, when people start dying, it's pretty graphic.
It's pretty graphic.
She's like, oh, I don't know because there's a scene where with kids.
I mean, because no one's safe from this thing if you're a dude.
Kids, anybody.
And so that was that was hard for her to watch.
Yeah.
But as it was over, I said, well, what do you think?
She's like, that was just the toughest part for me to watch.
She's like the rest of it, I kind of really enjoyed it.
I like to see where it goes.
And then she turned on Bachelor in Paradise.
Oh.
That was too heavy.
Now let's watch some freaking bachelors on the beach.
Making out with 700 girls at the same time.
None of this.
It's dudes ain't.
That, I have to be honest, that is a guilty pleasure car wreck that show, that Bachelor in Paradise.
Because there's guys and girls and everybody's just fucking up a storm.
It's unbelievable to me how these women or men, they go on these shows.
And they know that the guy is hooking.
up with like 20 girls at the same time and that it's okay well bachelor in paradise is different
bachelor in paradise is different it's it's more like a bunch you go on the david was the guest
host for the first one was amazing um he he there was a girl on the show who in the two years ago was
on the beach but she was involved with a woman right so she came in this time he's like so question is
are you looking for the d or you looking for the p that's what that's what he says to her i didn't
never heard it i i would i would assume thee but okay yeah but he says
looking for the D or looking for the P.
And my guilty pleasure is the housewives.
I can't watch that.
And below deck.
Amazing.
It is a train wreck amongst, I mean, just the house of the, I mean, as Howard Stern says,
they're, they're vomitous women.
Like, they're vomit.
You just can't.
They just, the money and how gross and how much they spent.
But it's something about it.
Something about it.
There's a, I feel like, it's a necessary show to eat cheese puffs with when I watch Bachelor in Paradise.
I don't know why it is, but I have.
to eat cheese puffs um but
but jumping back to the traitor joe's ones are not that bad the why why is a pirate's booty
no these are like these are good they're like the orange ones that stain your fingers no they're
healthy oh okay they're healthy cheese puff otherwise known as carrots um so do you but but
but with why the last man was there certain scenes that stood out to you that you really
that you that you liked at all did you did you did you were you on your phone the whole fucking
time be honest I was probably on my phone the whole fucking time it's probably sleeping you
You are, you're really, I've seen a movie with you a few times in the theater.
I have never on my phone in the theater.
One time you were.
When?
When we saw Star Trek with Adam.
I just, I, I know.
Was that?
How long ago?
I was, 2009.
I knew you for maybe a year.
No, I probably just met you at that point.
Oh, no, I knew you a year.
What?
It was on my phone during Star Trek?
I wanted to throw you out the, at the theater by your pants.
I was probably texting another guy.
That's really nice.
I have a, I had a story about, I just wrote a story about,
Adam because you know I'm doing I'm going back up on stage and I wrote this whole thing about
I don't actually one of the things what is a story that happened with you guys oh god the second one
but that the big the real big big big big boy boy well no when you guys had a fight at it was a sushi
place that you we went to and you guys started arguing about I don't know what it was you're arguing
I don't I don't I never argue please what are you talking about I don't argue she do
no I don't I don't I don't argue you argue that's right so you guys were fighting and it was bad
Like real bad.
Oh, please.
He barely spoke.
That is what I'm talking about.
The fact that you were able to get that out of him spoke volume.
Yeah, I was not a good match.
And you guys were just, I remember, and I'd only seen him that man once with his brother once, right?
And you guys were screaming and yelling at each other.
What?
This is made up.
This is not made up.
You'll remember this because in Venice, you kept talking about this afterwards.
In Venice, we go outside and I'm like, Bonnie, you're like, I'll walk at home.
And I'm like, you're going anywhere.
I'm like, I can't let you go home.
You've got to get in the car.
Come on.
And you were like, all right, because it's because of your friend.
That's why I'm getting in the car.
That's why I'm getting in the car.
And you get in you like, because when you calm down later on down the line, you were like,
you were saying, come on, Bonnie, I can't let you go home.
You got to get in the car.
So then we did it.
And everything calmed down.
We went back to my place and we started walking.
We started, we were hanging out.
It was chill.
We're all sitting down and we're on the couch.
And Adam, for some reason, decides he wants to fart.
And he rips.
Oh, my God.
Do you remember this?
Yes.
And he rips this massive fart.
and you just go,
un-fucking believable,
and you run out,
and Sadie goes running after you,
like,
and you were, like, in tears,
you run.
What?
Oh, you were,
it was.
Maybe from the fucking stank.
But it was,
it was everything.
I just thought,
yeah,
I remember that.
But that was already
towards the end,
but that was just,
I thought it was gross,
and he was gross.
But at the end.
Not,
you're not,
you're not gross at him,
but the farting was gross.
But he,
so when you,
when you run,
you run out,
you run out,
you run out,
and we're in the apartment,
man on the couch together in dead silence.
Not a word of spoken.
He turns to me and he goes,
all because of a fart.
Ew.
It was the best time.
When you're really in love and like,
when you really, really in love,
farts are funny.
Like, you know what I mean?
But when you're not, it's like,
ew, you're gross.
Well, I mean, I fart at my wife in anger sometimes.
What?
In anger.
if she's like if she's if she's if she's getting too much i just i'll tear one out
Dave likes when I touch oven him
I'm kidding I'm kidding you found your perfect man I'm kidding I did find my perfect match
but that is not true
ew yeah but farts are funny if you're if you're if you're if you're if you're into
someone and you're not like on the on the end and you hate them and you want to
like break up I just that that that was a funny story oh I thought you were going to
tell the other story that what was the other one phone call the accident you want to
tell that story no no no yeah that
That is one of the mic.
Embarrassing of all time.
Like three times.
Well,
that phone called.
No, twice.
It was twice.
Are you sure?
Yeah.
And then,
and then,
but who,
who was more embarrassed?
I mean,
him or me,
it was just,
yeah,
I remember specifically
because when he was so upset
and he was like,
not only once,
but twice?
Who does it again?
You want to tell the story?
It's cryptic.
The audience isn't going to know what's going on.
You don't have to tell the story
if you don't want,
but we either move on a letter to let him.
I accidentally called somebody and Adam,
we were on a break,
which I was.
I was doing the break, which means breakup, but you do the break because it's a slow route out.
It was pretty much over, but not officially.
No, but I wasn't saying it.
Because, you know, it's hard to break up.
It was over, but not official.
Anyway, I was out, let's just put it this way.
I was out on a date.
With someone else.
And I accidentally pocket dialed and I looked at my phone twice, not once, but twice.
And it was like 45 minutes, one and then 20 minutes.
And the thing is, is that he sat on the phone and listened.
Why wouldn't you?
I wouldn't.
Get the fuck out of here.
If you were still with your,
you're a significant other and you're in,
and you think you are anyway,
and you hear the conversations.
Of course,
well,
that's true.
He was kind of,
you kind of wanted to know what I was doing.
But when I looked down,
when I looked down,
when I got,
let's not get into the content.
But when I looked down at my phone and I saw 45 minutes on his machine,
and then again,
my stomach dropped.
You must have been mortified.
I was,
I felt so terrible for,
I mean, it was terrible.
You know, it was awful.
I mean, but it was not what,
he goes,
and not,
not once,
twice?
Yeah.
Who does that?
And I'm like,
have you met me?
Well,
it was,
it was the signing.
It was,
it was the end.
And I remember you showed up to,
to get some of his stuff
out of my apartment.
I was in there,
when you came home.
And you were,
and you were like,
looking at me and just,
Christian just looks at me at one point and he goes,
boy.
Yeah.
Like you,
like you were smiling.
You got me.
You were like,
I had to take off work that day.
I had to take off work because he was like,
he's like, dude,
I don't know what the fuck is going on.
I said,
I got to,
I got to leave.
I was speaking of a bachelor.
I was, it was, it was, my first time
I was, working there. And I was like to,
drive out. I was, I wasn't the best
partner to Adam. And he found,
listen, he found his match. He's living in France.
I mean, you know, he's, he's,
he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's,
living a life. He's eating croissants.
Give you another story about Adam.
Oh, let's like, what? It's not about you. It's not about you.
It was just, it was one of my, I think I've told you this story.
It's one of my favorite stories of all time.
it's a matter of timing, right?
Like timing when you say things, timing where you are in your life,
timing can be everything.
And so I remember when Adam and I were young,
we're probably like 24, 23, 24 and doing what 23, 24 year old kids do.
You're drinking, you smoke, and you do whatever.
We're playing the Medal of Honor or some shit
when it just came out, like two delinquents,
just drinking and smoking him.
He was with his ex-girlfriend at the time for a long time.
Yada.
No, no, no.
This was not, this was, this was, this was someone, someone he was with for a long time.
And, but they were on, very similar what we were talking before.
They were on the ounce.
We were on a break.
They were on the ounce, but they lived together.
And they were on the ounce.
So they were at that point in your relationship when you either try to make it work or both just keep firing shit at each other until it just blows up.
So Adam and I decide we're just going to drink and smoke and play games until we,
do what we do, which meant pass out face first into the rug.
The two of us, like two dead bodies, just can't move.
Two animals.
Getting hotter by the second.
Two delinquents just laying on the floor.
Stop turning me on.
So here comes his ex-girlfriend now, and she's like model hot, like magazine hot.
And she walks in and she goes, Adam, Adam, to which she hears nothing.
She's like, I'm just letting you know, I'm out the,
door. I'm going to a party that you are not invited to. I'm going there. It's cold out right now. It is
freezing out right now. And I'm getting in a cab and I'm going to this party. There's going to be
connections that I'm going to make there. There are going to be people there and they're going to be
hitting on me at him. And I might talk to them. I might talk to them. How do you feel about that?
Anything to say to me at all, Adam. All of his strength to get off of that carpet, lifting his head up
like a cinder block out of the ocean. He lifts his head up and he says,
wear a jacket, head back into the floor.
She does the same thing, slams the door, walks out,
and then I lift my head off and go, nice.
Well, we all know that Adam's a man of few words.
Oh, it was so good.
It was to my favorite, but it's all about timing
because at that point I said he nailed the joke.
He sacrificed it all to get the joke, but he got it.
And I was very appreciative of that.
Anyway, sitting here at Bonnie Somerville.
And we are talking about a great many things.

Is Dave a big football guy?
Oh, he's a Broncos.
Are you a Broncos guy?
Right, right, right, right.
The biggest.
So are you a Broncos fan now?
I am now.
You do that, though.
I don't know how, I mean, I appreciate that.
You kind of, you've been, how many football fans, how many football teams have you been a fan of in your life?
Because, like, can I guess, I can guess at least two?
What?
Jets?
Jets, yeah.
Broncos.
Because I remember you were a hardcore.
Well, that's because I grew up with all Jets fans.
My dad was a psycho Jets fan.
My grandparents are giants, but big football family always.
I was a football cheerleader.
I mean, I love football.
I know.
I didn't like football.
But now, but when I first met Dave and, you know, we were just doing the texting and, you know, the beginning stages when it's all new and sweet.
And I had read on, I read on his, um, uh, bio on Instagram, like a Broncos, whatever.
It said, said his hobbies.
And he's like, so who's your team?
Jets or Giants?
He texts me.
And I said, I wrote back, how about this line?
Ladies and gentlemen, I wrote back, if you're asking me if I'll be a Broncos fan, the answer is yes.
Look at that.
You switch right over.
I had it.
I had them there.
Well, yeah.
We have a Broncos flag outside the house when the Broncos play.
Well, that's where he's from, yeah?
He was raised in Denver, but he moved to San Diego when he was 12.
Yeah, but Broncos always stayed true.
It's amazing how that works where you're a kid and you really respond to a team.
That way that they stick with you forever.
My dad was a New York Giants baseball fan growing up as a kid.
And then they moved to California, obviously.
So he refused to roof for any teams in New York because he just,
He couldn't do it.
Willie Mays was his favorite player,
and he just,
he couldn't do it until finally the 70s
took him over to become, like, a Yankee fan,
but he didn't like the Mets.
He hated the Yankees for a,
what are you a Mets fan?
Yeah.
How are you a Mets fan?
Brooklyn, I guess it's right in the middle.
Yeah, Brooklyn is more Mets.
Manhattan is all Yanke.
What should I talk about?
I'm Queens.
I should be a Mets fan.
You should be a Mets fan, yeah.
Hello, Shea Stadium.
I can't do it.
It's not Shea anymore, though.
No, that's true.
Shee gone.
Shee gone.
She gone.
I want to go to this new stadium in L.A.
It looks insane.
What is it?
The Chargers or the Rams?
The Rams.
That stadium looks unbelievable.
I don't know.
I think it's both.
I don't pay attention.
Oh my God.
It looks stunning.
Gorgeous.
I bet they have like really good restaurants in there and they've got all these light shows and everything.
Have you been to the new, I mean, because you're not Yankee pants.
Probably not.
But do you, you've been to the new one?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I have not been to the new stadium since it's opened.
The last time, the 2009 or 2010 is when it opened.
I went to.
a Yankee game with Sadie.
I took her to,
and they were playing like the Rays, I think.
And at the old stadium was the last,
one of,
it was the last series that they were going to have at the old stadium.
And it fucking rained and it rained out.
And then they gave everybody takes the next day,
but I couldn't.
I had something to do.
So I didn't even get to see the game at the old stadium.
I'm sure Sadie was devastated.
She actually was because it was New York.
She wanted to,
because she knew all the history of it.
But taking the subway on the way back in the rain,
that was not one of her favorites.
Yeah.
It was very claustrophobic, plus the fact that it was just, it was hot, muggy.
Stadium is nice.
The one in New York is nice.
The new one.
I got to go to the new one.
Yeah, it's nice.
I went to a Met game about a year and a half, two years ago with Dagnino when we went.
And we had a fun.
We had a good time.
How is Degnino?
It's good.
He's doing, he's doing all right.
He's very heavily involved in the Shmode on obviously right now, but he's been doing, he's going to New York.
He's got, we're going to New York for October 9th.
All right.
Because, well, the eighth I'm doing a show in Brooklyn.
Where?
New York Comedy Club.
Oh, my God.
I want to see you.
Are you going to be in New York?
Maybe.
I don't know.
We could go.
I'm also going to be in Burbank at Flappers on September 26th here.
Wow.
Definitely going to write that down.
I need to come heckle you for sure.
Don't do that.
Not on my first.
That's one of the reasons I didn't invite you the first time because you start,
because I'm in the middle of trying to do stuff.
I don't need to scream it and yell.
What day is it?
Um, 26th.
My dad's actually going to be there for that one.
Oh, I'm going to be seeing Pearl Jam at a Honefest.
Oh, that's great.
Yeah.
That's great.
I'm excited.
On a Sunday?
Is it playing on a Sunday?
It's a Saturday, isn't it?
No, that's the 25th.
Yeah, I guess so.
That's what it says.
Awesome.
Yeah, Dave's favorite band in the world I'm going to get to, I've never seen them.
That's got good taste.
Yeah, he does.
Well, look, hello.
He asked me to marry him.
Duh.
That's a few.
You ass.
That's right.
Anyway, so, you.
So, okay, so that makes a lot more sense.
So you didn't even really watch the show?
No.
You didn't even really watch it for me?
A little bit.
I did a little bit.
I'm going to, now you make.
I knew that you didn't watch it.
No, I watched some of it.
I, but I knew it when I asked you said, what can I?
There was a one thing.
Dave said, what can she do.
I said, she can watch the episode so I have a conversation.
You don't know what happened.
I don't know what happened.
I didn't get through it.
I didn't get through it.
So what parts of the show?
I got distracted.
Because you didn't say, and you said, you didn't like it.
I'm going to go back and watch it.
I know, don't tell him.
Like a fucking cat with a string.
Don't tell me.
Dave is so upset.
He's so upset.
Now he's going to hear this and he's going to be like he's so upset.
Because he told you, because he said, did you watch it?
Yeah, because when Dave says he does something, he does it.
Did you even watch it at all?
Yes.
There's a monkey involved.
You didn't even fucking watch it.
You said it wasn't your.
I watched the first 10 minutes.
You lying sack of shit.
But watching 10 minutes is officially, is watching it.
You know.
I didn't say I finished it.
You should have fucking told me you didn't watch it because I got to do that a review.
I brought someone in here that got a ton of.
I could have talked to about it.
Well, I watch it when I go home.
You made...
That makes a lot of sense.
You made it sound good.
That makes a lot of sense.
You made it sound good.
You should absolutely watch it.
If I watched it, we wouldn't have this funny banter that we always have.
So I did you a filthy liar.
You dirty rats.
Let's you call me on your phone and I can hear you talk about it for 40 minutes.
He's dirty rat.
I didn't watch it twice.
Call me twice.
I'm going to watch it.
You made it sound interesting.
No, I saw some clips of Diane Lane and she looks amazing and I love her.
I didn't even know she was in it.
So I love her.
You didn't even know until I just told you just now?
No, no, I saw the commercial.
Is Missy Pyle in it, too?
Yes, she is, but she wasn't in that episode last night.
Lucky, man.
That girl never stopped working.
So don't lie to me again when I asked you this question.
How much realistically of the show did you watch?
Tell me the truth, because it makes it funnier.
Be honest.
He gave something to the monkey.
So you watched the opening scene.
You watch nothing of the show.
And you say it's not for you, you fucking asshole.
I can tell, though.
I could tell, apocalyptic.
End of the world.
You didn't know.
You didn't know.
But you didn't know what?
It's not zombies.
You thought it was zombies, didn't you?
No, no.
I thought it was like an apocalyptic end of the world thing.
Well, I mean, no, it's just every, every dude fucking eats it.
Except him.
Eats what?
Dyes.
Oh, there's one man left alive.
Yes.
Yes.
I know that premise.
So you had no clue what I was talking about.
I did.
I did.
You did not.
Listen.
Don't bullshit me.
Don't bullshit.
Don't bullshit artists.
Oh, this is going to be a fun time.
Oh, God.
I can.
Would you get off it?
No.
Oh, my God.
I hope Dave's not listening.
Dave, are you listening?
Of course he is, because he's going to hear her from it.
He said, you had one job to get this woman to watch this show.
Did he watch it?
No.
He's working his ass off and he has, you know, kid duties.
She brought him in to talk about the show.
Is it on SCN Channel or SCN Live?
This is the SCN Channel.
Sien Channel.
Yeah, it's not on live right now.
Dave is super responsible.
And when I was late and I ran back to get my wallet, he was like dropping everything to drive me.
He's like, no, because I told Christian that you're going to be on time.
and you're going to watch it and you're going to be like a pro and you're going to look good
and now he's like would you please explain to him that it wasn't me you know that you didn't watch
no that i was late and he i said he no yes it's not dave it's not dave it's not dave yeah that part
that i mean it actually it actually is funny i fucking found out like like like daniel craig and knives
out we were so we were so far into this show i thought i thought i made it i thought i thought i
fooled you.
Why do you?
Because I can tell,
I know you so well
that as you're talking,
I'm like,
and you're,
because if you,
you,
you're a great actress.
Because if you,
you are a great actress,
but the thing is,
if you haven't,
if you've seen something,
I can't get you
to shut the fuck up
about it,
even if it's not good.
Right.
Because you'll have certain things.
So what I'm telling you,
so the acting is good,
like, yeah,
yeah, yeah,
asking to it.
And then you wanted to move on.
I'm like,
this motherfucker
didn't watch this thing.
Oh, oh,
you rat.
You rat.
I'm going to watch it today.
It's really good.
Now you have to watch it.
Now I have to because you've made it.
And turn your phone off.
You've made it interesting.
Yeah, it's really good.
It's really a good show.
I love Missy Pyle.
And I don't even know how she is yet.
I'm sure she's great,
but it's a good show.
It's a great premise.
I loved it.
I can't wait.
I'm going to watch the second episode tonight
because they already have.
I don't know how many episodes are on right now.
There's at least two because when we stopped it last night,
it was like, all right, next episode starts in three, two,
when we went away from it.
What are you watching right now?
Did you watch Handmaid's Tale or you're not a fan?
I watched...
I talked about apocalyptic.
It's good.
I watched a few episodes of this is a little...
I think it was a little dark for me.
It's very dark.
I love it.
Yeah, I think that it was a good show.
I just, I couldn't...
That's a great premise, too.
That's one I couldn't get into.
But I actually watched it.
That's a great premise.
You know that they have their own little country in the country,
in the country's destroyed.
It's like the village.
Yeah.
So what else are you watching right now?
I just finished hit and run.
What's that?
It's on Netflix.
It's with the Israeli...
actor from Fowda. Remember I told you you have to watch Fowder. Honestly, it's probably one of the
best shows ever made. It's about the um, um, uh, the Hsama, the elite, I forget the unit, the Israeli,
you know, the high elite against like the terrorists and just living in Gaza. It's so smart.
And the lead of that is the lead of this. I forgot his name. He's, he's kind of like there,
over there in Israel. He's like there Jason Statham. He's like a, you know, a fighter. So good. The writing is so
good but it's half it half shoots in in new york too did you watch war warg empire when it was on i i watched it
it not when it was on i watched it three years ago and i stayed up all night for like two weeks
see i need to watch that because i'm i'm doing a rewatch of sopranos right now because you know
the movie comes out yes and i'm i keep saying i want to do a rewatch of soprano's well you you you
you better get on it because october first is when the movie comes my birthday it's son his son yeah
and the movie comes out did you watch have you seen the trailers yet yeah you both of them or just one
second one just came out of...
No, I saw the first one, and I sent it...
I think I posted it on Instagram.
Like, I couldn't wait.
You should see the second trailer.
It's really good.
I'll show you before you leave.
But I've been doing a rewatch of it.
I'm at the end of season five right now.
And then I started thinking,
I never watched Boardwalk Empire.
I never saw it.
And then obviously, after Michael K. Williams passed away,
I was like, I want to go back.
Because apparently he's, like, great.
And I love them in The Wire.
Yeah.
Oh, God, The Wire, man.
Yeah.
So, um.
So sad about that actor passing away.
I just said Michael K. Williams, yeah.
Oh, man.
Yeah.
But Michael K. Williams, right.
Yeah.
Did, um, so, because you always usually text me and say, hey, you, you found out as one of you
You would love it.
But you tell, there's, there's a few other shows.
Like, I remember the other one that you talked about years ago was Peaky Blinders.
Yeah.
That's like the best show, one of the best shows ever made.
Three seasons?
This was third.
Yeah.
Is it still going on?
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
They're coming, but it's, it's, it's truly like.
it's as it's like sopranos it's like old school yeah old school and and their old school you know the brothers are all
gangsters and bookies it but it is so beautifully shot and the music is like like tom waits and like all sorts of
really cool rockers it's absolutely brilliant is it early 20s or late 1800s early 20s right after war war one
okay but it is such a good show you would love it yeah that's one that i want to he is amazing
There's a few of those that I want to get into,
but like I have so much shit that I have to.
There's too many shows out.
I can't, I get anxiety.
HBO Max.
You guys have HBO Max?
Yeah.
It's the best.
It is the best.
All the releases are coming out.
You're not a,
now here's a question because this was a book first.
And now I don't know if you were saying that before,
just because you wanted to try to get out of the fact that to,
move on.
Come on.
Get some new material.
Sci-fi is Dune.
Dune is,
and no, huh?
because we talk about cinematic.
Oh, yeah.
Well, cinema.
I mean, even Matt Max,
no, Fury, the last one.
Yeah.
I mean, I didn't love the story,
but it was so beautiful to watch.
Well, so you're gonna,
that movie's coming out
that I'm very excited about.
Were you, did you like The Matrix or not really?
Yes.
Oh, I can't wait for that.
Yeah, but that might be one of the only ones I love.
Okay, because Matrix, did you see the new trailer?
Yeah.
Looks great, doesn't it?
Looks great.
Yeah, and that's the end of the year.
That one's coming out.
So there's a lot.
and then many scenes in Newark, obviously, the soprano's brother.
Yeah, I can't wait to see that.
It makes me so sad.
I mean, it's nice that it's his son, you know?
And he hits everything about the voice and everything.
You have to say, before you leave, I'm going to show you the trailer
because there's one moment that Livy is talking to him in the kitchen,
and he says something like, oh, my God, you forget that it's a Gandalfini
and you think it's a soprano.
Wow.
It's awesome.
What a show, man.
That might be the best show ever made.
Well, besides Breaking Bad.
Breaking Bad, the Wire and Sopranos,
are all up there for them.
Yeah, me too.
And peekie blinders.
Pecky blinds.
Look, before we move on,
I also want to let you guys know about cuts.
And I talked to you about it the other day.
And cuts is fantastic.
And we've been working with them now for a little bit.
The sport of business,
it means demanding excellence from your craft
and your wardrobe,
your fits need to be,
you got to blend timeless style and comfort
so that you look as good as you feel.
And for that,
there's cuts clothing.
What they've done is they've taken a,
a classic men's fashion staple,
just a normal t-shirt, and they refined it.
They combined premium quality
with a minimalistic aesthetic.
Cut shirt, they have the shirts,
they have the polos, they have the hoodies, the cruise sweatshirts.
I love the sweatshirt. I'm so glad
it's getting colder here in Los Angeles, and I've been
like just waiting to put this
sweatshirt on. It's like, it's the
material. It's awesome,
and it's made for the man who works hard,
plays hard, and never settles for less.
It's all in the sport of business. It's built
for performances in the boardroom, the
bar, the gym. Cuts clothing keeps you sharp wherever the game takes you.
Just take a plain t-shirt, but you make it Tony Stark, baby. The bleeding edge of fabric
technology, and then it meets the man confident enough to wear it. It's cuts clothing.
It started back in 2016, Steve Borelli. He set out to create clothes ready for every occasion
that the modern man faces. He started by reinventing the t-shirt. And what did he get in the end
result? GQ Magazine calls cuts the only shirt worth wearing. Is it the person? Is it the
perfect t-shirt? Yes, it is. That's accomplished. Next, cuts set out to create fabric uniquely
engineered for the clothing style. Consider the new cuts hoodie, which I love. That's the one you got to get.
I'm endorsing that from the heavens, this hoodie, where they developed Hyperloop French Terry
fabric, a textile that's temperature controlled and ageless. Or you can try the wrinkle-free
peacock polo, a design that keeps you fitted for the office, the golf course at home, the gym,
or your next hot date.
I have one of those polos,
and before I lost the 15 pounds that I lost,
I was wearing this polo
because it showed me what my belly could look like.
I'll tell you that.
And it cuts its premium with a purpose.
Each piece of clothing is designed
with a custom engineered fabric,
expertly graded for the perfect fit.
It's aiming for your every challenge and opportunity.
It's not just a lifestyle.
It's not just clothing.
It's office leisure apparel for the sport of business.
You get 15% off your first order
by going to cutsclothing.com slash SCN Live.
Cutsclothing.com slash SEM Live for 15% off the only shirt worth wearing.
I'm here with Why the Last Man enthusiast to Pony Somerville.
Is that microphone covering my face?
Sometimes.
Depends.
Yeah.
Are you, are you, are you digging?
You digging life right now?
You're happy?
I'm happy.
Well, I have a broken ankle, so that sucks.
How did you break your ankle?
I tripped over the dog gate in the house.
Were you texting?
No, I was stomping around in a huff and like just being a brat.
And the universe was like, oh, yeah?
You want to be a brat?
F you.
F you.
Yeah, you know.
Did you eat shit?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
And I was walking on it for four days because it didn't hurt that.
I mean, it swelled up.
I looked like Shrek.
One of my feet was like Shrek.
But I, and then everyone kept saying, you should go check that out.
But I thought, you can't break your ankle like that.
And I went to urgent care.
And she was like, oh, yeah.
That's fractured.
I was like, what?
So luckily I don't need surgery because apparently that happens a lot.
Yeah, you don't.
No.
But I haven't, when I went to the, you know, I'm such an idiot.
But when I went, I've been walking on it.
You're not supposed to.
And part of the bottom of the cast fell off because I was walking on it too much.
And the doctor was like, you really, really, really want to stay off it.
But it's impossible.
Crutch?
I have two crutches.
But you don't use them?
I have rashes on my armpits from these crutches.
So you'd rather break your cast and have to be in the cast for another, like, here?
No.
What's wrong with you?
It's already, it's already, could you see?
A toe, it's because that's, is that from you walking around on the fucking ground?
Yeah.
I know, I just, I can't, I can't.
You mean kicking charcoal in the back?
I can't sit still.
It's just hard.
No, but I've been better.
I've been better about it.
I've been better about it.
What are we going to do with you?
I don't know.
What are we going to do?
Poor Dave.
Poor Dave.
Is he listening?
Honey, I love you.
He'll be listening tomorrow.
This is pre-taped.
It's not a lot.
Oh.
I've said it to you maybe four times.
Oh, my God.
We've got to put you back on this show.
Oh, my God.
Kate's going to come back.
People love the Wolf of Wall Street deep dive.
Oh, my God.
We watched it twice.
At least you watched that one.
Yeah.
I cannot believe.
I never saw it when it came out.
I told you.
That's right in your alley.
It is unbelievable.
And Jonah Hill, my God, he's unbelievable.
Best New York accent I've seen from someone who's not from New York.
His accent was really authentic.
Very good.
All right, look, it's a fun show here today with Bonnie Somerville.
Look, we did a show together.
I did a show.
I promise,
I would.
And it was a good show,
and it was a fun show.
And check out Bonnie's show,
or podcast.
It's a second act,
wherever you get your podcast.
And leave me a review,
guys,
so I could keep doing this
because who knew
how hard Christian work
to get this shit going,
man.
It's not that easy.
Not that easy.
But I have amazing,
you know,
it's all about people
telling their stories
of how they got up
and got over,
heartbreak or job losses
and, like,
how do you find your second act?
So everyone has a story.
Yeah.
Some are, you know,
more tragic than others,
but pretty inspiring people,
really good people I've had on so far.
You had some really good guests.
And you were my first.
I was.
So I should check that out.
Go and check out Bonnie's show.
Follow her on Twitter if you haven't done that already.
Send her clips of Waila Last Man.
And so she can actually tell you what the show.
I'm going to watch it today.
Don't lie to me.
I won't.
I promise.
I'm going to call it.
And you text me after you watch it.
I will text you as soon as I watch.
I promise.
I promise.
All right.
So anyway,
guys,
please go check that out.
And like I told you beforehand when this show
began. Please go to Apple Podcasts. Please go to Spotify.
Follow us. Even if you're on YouTube and you're watching this show, which we really appreciate,
we really need the podcast downloads. To me, that's because YouTube doesn't pay shit in monetization.
You guys know that. You've been around the game for a long time. It's very supportive.
We love having to be able to communicate with you guys the way that we do. But podcast is the way
to really help this show. So please go to Spotify.
Download mine too, because I need help.
Yeah, please do that. And then maybe.
Maybe if you do that, then she'll put out episodes weekly is what we need.
I know. Bulk. Bulk them. Shoot them in bulk.
All right, ladies and gentlemen, thank you so much for joining us here today on The Big Thing.
Thank you to Bonnie Somerville. Thank you to all you guys.
Very, very happy to be back and we'll see you guys on Friday.
