Robert Inlakeh here reporting for The Last American Vagabond.
This is the Foreign Policy Show.
And this edition of foreign policy is rather important, and it may be quite alarming to those who are watching it.
Now, the title of this segment is that Trump and Israel are ushering in a new world order.
Now, many people when they hear that may think that this is somewhat hyperbolic, that how could they be ushering in a new world order?
Some may even push back and say, this is crazy conspiracy talk, and they may think that I am discussing freemasonry, although, of course, secret societies in all of this may fit into a larger picture of how power works.
This is something that is quite obvious on the surface.
It's there sitting in plain sight for everyone to see, yet most are not paying any attention to what is happening.
And once you see it, you simply cannot unsee it.
So to begin this, we're going to start, as I usually do, in West Asia or the Middle East.
What's currently happening in occupied Palestine, but what's also.
happening in Lebanon. Now there are two rather recent events that have taken place which
will start up this conversation and as I keep going and getting into more and more
details it's going to be more clear how the global system which has been operating
since the end of the Second World War is now undergoing a dramatic change one that is for the
worse rather than the better, at least if the powers that be get their way.
So what am I talking about?
Well, there was an agreement that was just struck recently between Israel and the US-backed
proxy government in Beirut, which represents Lebanon, which perhaps we'll talk about
more in depth in another episode, this agreement itself, but in essence what happened is the
United States brokered this agreement between the Israelis and Lebanese governments.
And the Lebanese governments, they recognized Israel, something that they hadn't done before.
And they also justified Israel's occupation of their own territory, the south of the country.
Now, any occupation, a belligerent occupation, is technically, according to international law, illegal.
But what the Lebanese government did is gave Israel.
a pass on that by enabling them to work through a loophole that the United States and Israel set up.
And of course, the Lebanese government is just a vessel for them in order to get what they want.
It's not actually a sovereign government.
But in this agreement, although there are many flaws and different things that can be pulled apart,
there's perhaps one clause.
That's clause 13 in the agreement that should be taken note.
of and it does have, indeed, global implications. Clause 13 explicitly stipulates that the
Lebanese government cannot pursue legal action against the Israelis for the crimes committed
against its people. Now, bear in mind that since October 7, 2023, nearly 10,000 people
in Lebanon have been killed by Israel. Israel has bombed schools. It's dropped,
Chemical agents in high concentrations, which have similar effects perhaps to Agent Orange that was dropped in Vietnam.
And we all know the consequences, the horrific consequences of Agent Orange.
Israel was spraying chemical agents of a very similar nature on southern Lebanon.
It was using white phosphorus and continues to use white phosphorus munitions, target hospitals and schools and journalists.
And the list evidently goes on.
So the Lebanese government sacrificed its ability for this agreement to even pursue legal action.
Now, alone, that may seem somewhat insignificant.
Why is this relevant to what is happening on a global stage,
which is why we're going to pair this with other pieces of information and what has been also happening recently?
Now, if we move south to the Gaza Strip where Israel has actively been committing a genocide,
there was something called the Board of Peace, which was established by the Trump administration.
The Board of Peace now is an interesting organization or body.
It was built and ultimately approved by the United Nations Security Council.
It is a body that seeks to replace the United Nations altogether,
and it was supposed to be approved in order to serve as a,
a somewhat governing body of the Gaza Strip.
Now, the Trump administration put out its security doctrine
through the White House.
And of course, the idea of a nation building project
is a bit foreign to the concepts pushed
by the Trump administration, or at least what it publicly espouses.
So why then did Trump create what is in essence
or what should be, what appears to be, a body which is
really set up to do nation building in the Gaza Strip.
Why would it do something like that?
Well, then we have to go to its charter
because once this Board of Peace was established
as per the UN Security Council vote,
which ultimately gave birth to UN Security Council Resolution
2803, we see that in that charter,
Gaza and Palestine are not mentioned once.
There's not even a single mention of them.
Now, the body does, of course, function to take control of Gaza.
But what it really did is set up an alternative system to the United Nations.
Now, again, that piece of information alone, standalone, it's concerning,
but it doesn't exactly spell a new world order and global implications and all of the rest of this.
Now, this Board of Peace that has been established has a draft resolution that it is seeking to pass,
which would enable all of its members, everyone affiliated with it,
the head of the High Commission for Gaza, which of course is not a Palestinian, not an Arab,
not somebody from the region even, right, somebody that is on the payroll,
a distinguished fellow with the Washington,
Institute for Near East Policy, which infamously helped push the Bush administration into the
Iraq War and is a part really the think tank wing of the Israel lobby or part of that think
tank wing. So a man who is, in essence, employed or at least paid by these people or performs a
role for this wing of the Israel lobby was placed in control of Gaza.
cannot be charged. He will have full immunity, according to this draft resolution. All the members of
the Board of Peace will have full immunity. So if someone dies in Gaza or is injured in Gaza,
as a result of their actions, they cannot be punished. In fact, anyone that is even contracted
by the Board of Peace and international forces, which are supposed to form what is known,
as the International Stabilization Force, they can't be charged with anything either.
Full immunity, legal immunity, to do anything, a license to kill in the Gaza Strip,
as a result of the Board of Peace.
And the Board of Peace, again, its official charter doesn't even mention Gaza or Palestine.
It has much broader ambitions.
So if you're paying attention by now, the Trump administration has,
has broken an agreement between Lebanon and Israel, which essentially gives Israel the permission
to commit war crimes without the Lebanese government being able to appeal in any sort
of international court to get retribution or justice for the victims in their country.
Well, in the Gaza Strip, again, the Board of Peace run by the Trump.
administration is also saying that there will be full legal immunity for all its
members and a license essentially to kill. This is the complete end of sovereignty and
this is a throwback to the era before the United Nations even came into existence.
Why is that so important? Well because over the past few years we've seen that
Israel has been allowed to commit any number of atrocities it chooses.
It can attack eight countries within its surrounding region, and it faces little to no
consequences for this.
But it is the United States ultimately where the power lies inside of that system.
And it is the United States government that ultimately greenlit everything that happened
in Gaza, in Lebanon, and then, of course, the Trump administration at the behest of Israel
launched an illegal offensive war against Iran. Now, the United Nations as a system has what's
known as the International Court of Justice, where states are held liable for certain crimes,
and then we have the International Criminal Court, which is governed by what's known as the
Rome Statute. The ISIS.
The FCC issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Jov Gallant, his former defense minister.
And yet, the response of the Trump administration was to sanction the court, to punish the court.
So the ICC has been taken out.
The United Nations, even though it was its own Security Council, the members on the Security Council,
were bullied into accepting this resolution by the United States,
but nonetheless, it signed its own death.
warrant. It's been replaced by this Board of Peace, which has global ambitions, not just local
ambitions in Gaza, hence its charter doesn't even mention Gaza or Palestine one time. And now it is
starting to create the sort of policies and system of governance that it seeks to implement.
Now again, this is a system of governance which is run completely by oligarchs, by billionaires,
by people that are accountable to nobody,
and there are no courts that can challenge these individuals.
They are saying that some people are lesser than other people.
Right now they're saying that those people that are lesser
that can't even legally appeal after their family members are slaughtered in front of them
in the most brutal ways caught live on camera,
live streamed, genocide will not be punished.
That's one of the policies.
And that is, of course, targeting the Palestinian and Lebanese people.
But as we see, this is expanding.
That legal system that was developed after the Second World War,
which came about after the failure of something called the League of Nations.
Now, the League of Nations, like the United Nations, failed in its mission
to prevent horrific atrocities around the world.
And the League of Nations failed.
Why? Because of political bias.
That's ultimately why we believe that the League of Nations ultimately failed and then led to World War II.
And after World War II, and all of the atrocities that were committed by all sides, quite frankly,
we developed the Geneva Conventions.
We developed as a people, the idea as well not only of an international legal system, international law,
but also of national sovereignty for all groups of people.
We take it sort of for granted the idea of national sovereignty nowadays
that all peoples enjoy this.
But really, it was after the creation of the United Nations that all of these nation states that now exist.
The majority of the states that currently exist in the world are very new states.
these are not, this is recent that we have all of these countries and that fellow countries around
them recognize them and that they are indeed countries with sovereignty. And for some time
there was an attempt through the United Nations and this was very relevant during the Cold War
although of course there are violations of this which have frequently occurred. The system didn't
It wasn't upheld in the best of ways.
I think everyone can agree on that.
But there was an idea that this is the way the world order sort of should function.
We should agree upon implementing things such as national sovereignty and respecting one's borders, human rights.
All of these concepts are, relatively speaking, and historically, new concepts.
What has happened is Israel and Israel,
its actions and the U.S. government, in particular now the Trump administration has erased
all of that, has destroyed all of the progress that had been done even if that progress didn't
always result in the tangible gains that we would like to see on the ground. Nonetheless,
there were legal systems. You could appeal things. We always felt like there was a certain line
that couldn't be crossed.
Even for example, in the United Nations,
the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres
has refused at this point, out of other utter fear and cowardice,
to even state that the US and Israel violated the UN Charter
by illegally committing themselves to an offensive
and unnecessary war against Iran.
Now, when it came to the buildup to the Iran,
Iraq war, for example, and this is important to note these historic examples here, when
it came to the buildup to the invasion of Iraq and the overthrow of Saddam Hussein, the
U.S. government sought to actually get UN Security Council approval of this.
Now, they did get a resolution condemning the Iraqi government, but they fell short of being
able to get the permission for an invasion of the country.
what they did is they decided to go in, all guns blazing, and they received condemnation.
Kofi Annan, who was the Secretary General at the time, did indeed come out and say that they violated
the UN Charter. Now, you may come forward and say, well, that didn't really mean anything because
you know, George Bush Jr. is still alive and well out on the streets and doing his thing.
He wasn't punished for it. But at the very least,
was the idea that laws existed and that the US should attempt, even if it doesn't ultimately
respect that system, attempt to try and go through it in order to achieve its goals.
In fact, if we look at, for example, and compare the Bush administration, which again acted
lawlessly, and the Biden administration, this is a great example, when Israel is a great example, when Israel
in the Gaza Strip attempted, and they did,
assassinate the former leader of Hamas,
his name was Ahmed Yassine,
and killed a number of civilians in the process of doing so.
I believe it was seven civilians that were killed,
killing in order to get Ahmed Yassine in Gaza.
That was condemned by the president at the time.
If we turn over to 2024,
when the Israelis assassinated the former Secretary General of Lebanese Hezbollah,
Sayyad Hassan Nasrallah, Israel killed 300 civilians and took down a city block in order to kill him.
The Biden administration praised this operation.
Now, again, if you take these individual cases alone and you just look at them in isolation,
it might not mean that much.
But if you put it all together that over the past years,
not only has Israel over the past few years abolished the idea of national sovereignty,
done things like attacking an embassy,
unthinkable before, assassinating leaders of countries.
This is something that the Trump administration just did.
They assassinated the leader of another sovereign country.
They have established a.
body that has got the approval of the United Nations to operate independently of the current
international system and to replace the international system, that body is granting full
immunity to those who are seeking to shape a new reality, not only in the Middle East,
but throughout the world. They have done away with the courts. They have attacked the courts,
attacked the officials, anyone speaking up, anyone producing reports, anyone trying to
simply keep alive the concept of the old world that we're leaving behind, destroying all of that,
discarding it, and ushering in this new world order, which will be run by a body that no longer
cares about national sovereignty. They don't care about borders. They don't care about freedom of speech.
They don't care about international law and the Geneva Conventions and human rights. These ideas are
in fact foreign to this body that is being formed. All that matter is is power, the law of the jungle.
The powerful are the ones who are able to do what they want, while those who are aware of
weak are going to be taken advantage of.
Now, some may argue that this is sort of the world that we live in, but what we're doing
here is we're riding on a bike without the ability to really balance and we're taking the
training wheels off.
And the problem here is when we have an international system that is set up in this way,
where we no longer have the guardrails on, then things can flip.
lie out of control very, very quickly.
And while you may at the moment think that maybe the situation in the Gaza Strip or in Lebanon
is distant from you, this Board of Peace that has been created and the international system,
moreover, that is being built here, is not just designed for Palestine's.
Palestine and Lebanon.
In fact, this is just the testing grounds so that it can be implemented everywhere.
And so that is what we are currently seeing.
And it is currently those forces and those powers that are right now still attempting
desperately to implement this project.
And standing in their way are a number of armed groups in the region and
the Islamic Republic of Iran. They want to eliminate Iran so that they can get away with this,
and then they can continue. But the bigger question here is, even if they manage to defeat Iran,
or they walk away from the conflict with Iran. What are the implications in the future for
tensions with China and Russia, which are regarded as much bigger challenges to the United States and the
Israelis overall, if they want to have supreme power, if they want to maintain that dominance
that the U.S. had following the collapse of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War,
then they're going to have to contest with Russia and China. And if they're going to do that,
and we have a international system that has the old one has collapsed, the new one's been ushered in,
there are no laws, you have a license to kill if you're,
or of course siding with the powerful, things can fly out of control all over the world very, very quickly.
And really, many are not noticing this because again, the way that the news is packaged and delivered to us
makes us feel as if this is all happening somewhere else and this is not concerning the rest of the world.
Well, this is concerning all of us.
And this is why everyone should be, quite frankly, worried about the trajectory that we are currently on.
Because if this project to form a New World Order succeeds, we are going to be in a world of pain.
