Thank you for listening to the Late Breaking F1 podcast.
Make sure to check out new episodes every Wednesday and every Sunday.
Welcome to the late breaking F1 podcast presented by Harry Ead, Sam Sage,
and me, Ben Hocking, one day removed from the F-1-75 event.
That of course means it's Sam's most favorite and also rageiest episode of the year.
And there is good, there is also bad.
Okay.
And thank you.
When you build up your hopes for, it's like Christmas as a kid, you know, you get really excited for it.
It gets closer and closer.
And sometimes you open that first present and it isn't what you asked for.
And you think, ah, Father Christmas hasn't delivered.
And now I'm mad.
But maybe Father Christmas has delivered this year.
We'll have to wait and see.
Got nothing to follow that up with.
Valid.
Yeah, we are 24 hours removed from F-175,
the first collective launch event that I think we've had in the sports history
to start off a season.
And of course, all 10 teams revealed their liveries.
That means this episode is Pimp My F-1.
So all three of us, we're going to be rating all 10 liveries from 1 to 10 a little bit later on.
We've also got the help of the Discord as well.
So we put out a form earlier today.
thank you to all of those that submitted their thoughts.
And if you want to get involved in the Discord, of course you can in the description.
So we'll be giving their thoughts as well to see if they line up with ours.
Before we get to that, though, we did have a major event outside of the liveries.
Sam, what were your initial thoughts on the two-hour spectacle that was F-175?
There were some positives and there were some negatives.
And let me say, this was a tough...
gig. Jack Whitehall
hosted it and I do think
this was a really difficult job to
get right. I think it was super cool
the way they set it up in the O2
in London. I love the red
carpet. I loved how we had all
the drivers together, all the superstars
of the sport together, both historic
and present, you know, the likes of Jackie Stewart.
David Kooltog, of course, was there.
The biggest threat to anyone in racing
and many others.
Martin. Martin
was there. You know, the list goes
on in terms of F1 Legends who had turned up and of course the current crop of drivers and you don't
get that often.
Other than actually on a race day, you never ever see all of this personnel in the same place
at the same time.
On the flip side, it was really difficult to make sure that you were presenting this new event
to the right audience.
And I do think there was such a broad audience watching.
We know that our parents were watching it.
We were watching it.
There will be children watching it.
and there will also be people across the globe
that won't understand a lot of the references,
a lot of the humour that was going on.
But it's really difficult.
And I do think Jack Whitehall
had a really, really difficult, tough job of it.
Some of it did land.
I'm going to be very honest.
Some of it did not land.
It was a bit cringy.
But I also think he'd clearly done his research
and he clearly spent a lot of time learning
about the storyline within Formula One
and try to come across as a proper fan.
And some of it did deliver.
Some of it was all right.
We're going to break it down, of course.
I'm sure the boys will give their own opinions.
But there were some highs and there were some lows.
Harry, you jumped in our WhatsApp group immediately after the events with the line.
Golly gosh, that was wonderful.
Yeah, that sounds like you.
Oh, yeah, that is what I wrote.
You're a golly gosh sort of man.
I love the words golly and gosh.
I, look, look, the, the, from a technical point of view,
this as an event
and a shout out there will be hundreds of people working on this
from not F1, all the teams that have been involved with it,
all the partners that have been involved with it,
the O2, from a technical point of view,
technically this was all pretty much perfect.
I can't remember many, if any, like technical glitches,
everything ran in terms of light shows, videos, music performances,
All 10 cars came out on that thing.
They must swapping the cars behind backstage.
How are you doing that?
That's ridiculous.
So technically this is super impressive.
I was very impressed by that.
And from the reaction of fans, certainly,
especially the ones with it who got tickets to the event itself,
I think have been very positive and they all really enjoyed what they witnessed.
That being said, I hated it.
And I never want to see it again.
Okay?
Never again, F1.
Never again.
Tell us how you really, Phil.
I'll be honest.
I didn't love it, but there were some positives.
And I think you've done a good job of highlighting some of those already.
I think Jack Whitehall did a very good job.
And I will confess, I'm not a Jack Whitehall fan.
So the fact that I think he did very well should speak volumes.
I thought the production was slick.
And yeah, apart from a couple of really minor, like sound issues at one point,
like it was really minor as well.
It was a couple of seconds and it had gone.
It all worked really well.
So I think they deserve credit for that.
And I think maybe the biggest plus point from my side was they had the wherewithal to laugh at themselves.
And I think that's something that has been missing from F1 for a long time.
It's sometimes viewed as a little bit stuffy,
even with some of the recent advancements in the sport that we've had,
I think they did a good job of realizing that they could be the butt of the joke.
And you're right, Sam, not all of them landed, but I think enough did.
And I thought that was a real positive.
The fact that, you know, it was such a good positive that when they tried not to do that,
it sounded really weird.
Most specifically when they were talking about the F1 movie that's coming out later this year,
and you realize that Jack Whitehall wasn't actually setting up for another joke
and he was just being dead serious about the excitement of the movie.
And you realize that, oh, the money's taking over
and they need to actually be positive about this film coming out.
But yeah, I thought that was definitely a positive.
Biggest positive than I was actually booing the FIA.
That was just, I have to give credit to F1 actually on this.
The poo-houseery that they constructed was really impressive.
Like, they knew exactly what they were doing.
They knew exactly what reaction they were going to get
when they plastered the massive FIA logo
on the side of the stage.
They knew those boos were coming.
And another, maybe even more subtle way,
Stefano Domenicali, thanking Bernie Eckleston.
You know what you're doing, Steve, Sunday.
And I, you know what?
I kind of respect it.
The final one of those is the sprinkling of Gordon Ramsey,
Augusta Domenicali's table.
You know what you're getting.
with that man.
You know exactly what.
I'm asking him about swearing.
I mean, it's like a ticking time bomb.
He's going to swear.
Let me say the answer.
Let me do it.
What I didn't like.
A long, boring intros.
Do you know what?
I actually went back and watched some of it again this morning because I wanted to do an experiment, right?
Alpine.
Oh, okay.
I want to debunk something here because I've realized they planned something terribly.
That was Brian Tyler.
He was a music guest.
He was not actually directly related to Alpine.
That was his music segment.
And then Alpine come on.
I think some of the music guests, so him and Kane Brown is it?
Yes.
Were hired by the teams.
So then got billed as music guests.
So that in itself.
So confusing.
Red flag.
Don't build them as music guests.
They're part of your team presentation.
Because like, Thames wasn't done as that.
So why are the rest of them?
Big up Thames, by the way.
Why would you bring the creator of the F1 them as a music guest,
promote them as like this star of the show,
and then have them in Yangang's Bingbag on the stage
doing a weird DJs.
I'm sorry, a positive,
the panning to Fat Boy Slim just sat there going,
what on earth is this?
And then Flavio Briatorre.
I'm going, what am I watching?
The Alpine intro.
I actually went back on this.
the Alpine intro, including the Brian Tyler stuff, six minutes long.
Do you know how long Oliver Oaks and the two drivers were talking on stage for?
23 seconds.
Oh, no, give them credit, 45.
They only got, the team's got seven minute slots.
So they use six of this.
This is Alpine.
What is the matter with you?
And it wasn't all of them, by the way, because I think Williams, for example, did a really good job.
They just had like 90-second montage, and then they actually had some time speaking.
to James Vowles, Carlos,
signs Alex Albin,
but Alpine and kickstakes Salber in particular.
Criminal offence.
Yeah.
What was the drum secrets for,
what was the drums for?
Neon drumsticks.
They're going to be selling like hot cakes.
I did reach the overall conclusion, though,
of I didn't,
and I guess you were kind of saying this as well,
Sam, with the broad audience
that was going to be tuning in for this.
I didn't really like it,
and it doesn't matter one bit.
because going into this event,
I was going to watch 24 races this year
and coming out of it,
I'm going to watch 24 races this year.
I'm not the target audience.
It hasn't impacted my enjoyment of the season to come.
If it has helped hook a casual viewer
who was maybe thinking about following the season
and they're now going to tune into Australia in a month's time,
that's a win for F1.
So I appreciate my liking of the event
is pretty irrelevant in all of this.
Now, there are some positive.
I think to take away from this.
We have now seeing everything collectively.
I think that, you know,
it's nice that we had some organisation
because the amount of times that you,
you listener at home will be,
I'm going to work today.
Oh, I believe that Haas are announcing their car today.
Oh, I've looked on Instagram and it's been live for 35 minutes
and I had no idea that that was happening at that point.
Right.
You know, that times that's happened where all of a sudden
there was dropped some JPEGs of a Photoshop design on Twitter
and that's the car launch.
Or Ferrari will have.
have a three-hour-long ballerina dance outside of the castle
or the Dressers pit crew and you'll go,
am I ever going to see the car though?
Will it ever actually emerge?
We didn't get any of that.
We had at most six minutes of Faf.
I think that's the polite way of putting it.
And then we saw a car with every single team.
We saw the Faf and we saw the car.
I think there's elements to that.
Again, I don't do this, that again,
but there's elements from it you could take
and make them do for all their launches,
i.e. I don't care whether your actual car's not
ready because none of the actual 2025 cars were there last night.
There were 24 ones.
But you paint a car and you have to roll that out at your law.
If you do a launch on your own next year, that's what you have to roll out.
Because you're right.
It's better than some being a render, some being a studio shot and some you actually get
to see on a live stream.
I did like the uniformity of that.
That's a fair point.
But a negative on the flip side of that is I, as someone who loves livery season,
and it's very clear, I adore livery season.
I now have nothing to look forward to.
It's done.
Two hours of, again, back to Christmas,
you tear them all open in the first 20 minutes,
Asher present's gone.
Game over.
You've any ruined for you.
So I now don't get to wait until Friday.
Oh, that's Ferrari Day.
Saturday is, you know, Asthma Martin Day.
I don't get that.
Father's Day.
They have a clue.
And that was a bit I did love about delivery reveal week.
You've got a full F-1 week.
And in the off season, when it's been winter and it's been dark and cold for so many days,
it is really nice to have that.
Oh, okay, we're getting a good week, 10 days of content here.
It's fun to talk about.
So that I dislike about this concept.
Yeah, I would subscribe to that a little bit more if I could trust the teams.
Yeah.
And it is based on how good the teams are actually doing their own individual launches,
because some of them have been all right over the years.
But there have been some, do you remember the Red Bull Ford one?
and how long we were waiting for that.
One hour and a half of chat?
It was a long time
and Renault slash Alpine
have been guilty of that in the past as well,
just talking to people that sponsors or whatever
we don't care about and we're having to,
at least with this we managed to get all of the nonsense in one go.
So,
yeah, I get what you're saying.
So Sam,
it's kind of like you're not drawing out the positives
and you're also not drawing out the negatives as well.
Yeah.
we spoke about the booing of the FIA
we saw booze elsewhere
Christian Horner was booed of course
and it was bold I think of him
to go out there in the microphone
after what's happened in the last year
the public are going to be quite divisive on that
but what I do think was a real shame
is that we didn't get to talk to Max Verstappen
he is our reigning world champion
he's a global feature of this sport now
it's not like Lewis Hamilton's the only superstar
Max is definitely at that level
and it's a shame that, excuse me,
they were so at risk of that audience,
which is meant to love Formula One,
turning on Max because he's, I don't know,
around Red Bull,
because of the Hamilton fact,
whatever reason they might have done,
they were clearly worried about it,
that he didn't get the chance to speak.
And I think he was very good game,
the whole night.
Jack Whitehall had a poke at him,
you know,
they took the Mickey out of him,
how he doesn't want to be there.
They took the Mickey out of Liam Lorser,
being one that's actually,
he's outdressed by Max Vostap,
which he ever happens.
honestly he took blow after blow of silly joke after silly joke
and he didn't get to say anything
and I do think that's a little bit disrespectful
and Max Mustafa did deserve at least 30 seconds
of that whole two hour period
to say what he wanted to say.
So I was a bit disappointed that
clearly the audience couldn't give Max the respect
that maybe he deserved.
Yeah, I 100% agree.
I don't think, I mean, what are you really doing it for?
Like I thought it was ridiculous.
I think it could be indicative of where the sport is going a little bit in terms of
not entertainment versus sport,
but the more we go into the entertainment sphere,
I think you go more into the entitled fan thinking that they can cheer or boo whatever
they like because they've brought a ticket.
And whether you agree with that or don't agree with that,
that's up to you.
But I think that's maybe part of the reason why is that,
I don't know,
you don't get too much.
either way, in terms of a race,
because you don't necessarily hear a great amount
based on the cars and, you know,
the fans aren't necessarily right next to the action,
you do still get some of that,
but you don't get the atmosphere at a football game,
for example,
whereas this was kind of a unique arena spectacle
that we haven't really had before.
So this was exposure to that sort of thing
that you wouldn't get at a generic race track.
and it was interesting to see the results, but I agree.
I just don't think you should have been booed.
Shall we take our first break on this episode,
and on the other side, get into some ratings?
Let's plug it go.
We've got whiteboards.
Are we not doing more negative things about the O2 event?
Because I've got many more things on my list.
What we do, hang on, before the other way,
separate hour for Harry.
Tomorrow has never been more prepared than his life.
60 seconds, Harry, you can reel them off.
If you could do it in 60 seconds.
Okay.
Go on.
Racing Bull's entire presentation,
hateful, hated it, awful.
The paid actors are trying to get them to say the name.
Why bother?
Rang out of time.
Our brand sucks.
Yep, move on.
Red Bull's entire presentation, also awful.
The dancers hated them as well.
I mean, respect to you, but awful.
The booing we've already mentioned.
Brian Tyler have already mentioned.
And last on my list.
Mark Cohen.
Mark Cohen.
No, not Mark Cohen.
He's had a haircut. He looks fine.
Hasse in their like pre-vid,
pretending that they've done anything for the past days.
Oh, I can get a one way.
What was that?
Anyway, I've run out of list.
I forgot about the HAST.
Thank you very much for that, Harry.
I'm assuming you're going to go now,
but myself and Sam will be back to rate some liberties after us.
See later.
Welcome back, everyone.
We're doing Pimp Myf-1 slightly differently this year.
So in years past, we've had certain categories and we've given a team in that category.
This year, we are just going to go from the same order that they launched the cars last night.
So from Salba, all the way through to McLaren, we're going to give a rating out of 10.
Now, all three of us have no idea what the others are thinking in terms of their ratings.
And we're going to reveal them all on our whiteboard.
So if you are watching along, firstly, hello, you will see that after a countdown of 3-2-1,
we will show our whiteboards at the same time.
And then, of course, for audio listeners,
we will let you know exactly what those scores are.
And we'll get into the discussion as to why we think that's the case.
Of course, with us racing all the liveries as well,
we'll have a definitive order at the end.
Cheers, John Burko.
And we'll be able to say what our favourite livery is collectively.
So we are going to start with Salba.
So if I could ask you gentlemen to write down your score out of ten,
big question.
Do we hold the whiteboard in the iPad configuration or the horizontal configuration?
I've gone portrait mode on this, son.
I've also gone full portrait mode.
Well, that's actually, yeah.
I'm horizontal.
You're a landscape boy.
I'm a landscape boy.
All right, Bob Ross.
Can we also, are they not, I thought they weren't allowed to be called Stake or Kick or
whatever anymore in the UK.
I don't bother to keep up with that anymore.
Yeah, fair enough.
They're out only next year, so it doesn't matter.
Yeah.
Okay.
Are you ready?
I am ready.
Sam, are you ready?
How many numbers are you drawing, Sam?
Yeah, that's...
This could be a long segment if you're colouring them in.
I'm ready to go.
Okay.
Three, two, one.
Harry and Sam have both got five.
Two.
Two.
Well, as we're matching, Ben, why are you going and give us your reasons?
Yeah, I really hate this one.
So...
That's my point.
Yep.
I didn't actually hate last year's,
one, but I really hate this one.
It's a black car with some green spray paint.
So, but half or halfway.
Last year, I didn't like what they did.
I thought it was not great, but like they at least tried to integrate the colors together
a little bit.
This year, it's just, it's two cars.
Like, it's a black car and a green car, and there's just no attempt to put them together
at all.
You both had this livery last year as like the biggest letdown because of the colour scheme.
And I still feel that way as well.
You could do so much with green.
And yet they kind of don't.
They also have a bit of a missed opportunity in that they don't really have any sponsors.
So they could actually do something quite creative.
And yet, I don't know, it's just they just look like last minute decided,
oh, throw some green on the front.
I see your point.
It is a low effort job.
But I like the green a lot.
I really hate the black a lot.
And so therefore it's like a middle of the road for me.
I have actually marked them up on the lack of effort.
That is the most harrying thing in the world.
Because I hate it.
I hate it more than last year.
But the fact that they've just gone,
oh, it's last year, whatever,
a bit of it will be green and that'll do.
And then they've walked off
and had gone for a beer or something.
I've marked them up, a couple of points.
the Discord ranking, by the way, is very similar to both of yours.
So the average came out at 4.97 for our Discord users,
which actually ranks ninth, so of the 10 teams.
We are the people.
So, yeah, 2-5s and a 2 for Salber,
which means we next go on to Williams.
Now, last year, Sam had Williams third,
didn't make an appearance in the top three for myself or Harry.
but what are we scoring this one?
Show us your whiteboards.
Sam is committed to the fancy writing.
I'm ready.
All right, three, two, one.
Oh, okay.
So we've got three from, sorry.
Three.
Thank you.
We've got five from myself and six from Harry.
Harry, you're the most positive on this one.
It's blue.
It's dependable.
I'm happy with it.
it's just it's just unoffensive and inoffensive um i like i just like what i'm done with it
the with a few more sponsors on that car now makes a bit more sense to me i just think the blue
with the white sponsors Ferrari um it makes sense so i i like it it's gone for six it's not
it's not my favorite by by no means but i think it's pretty solid pretty dependable
Yeah, I was fairly similar to that, so I've scored it at five.
The positives of it, I do prefer it to last year's Williams.
I think it's a bit brighter.
And yeah, you're right, there are more sponsors.
I don't particularly love how they've displayed some of those sponsors.
One thing I really hate, and I said the same thing last year,
and I appreciate it.
They might not be able to do too much with this.
It pains me to see the golf sticker on the side of the car
because it just screams like what you could possibly do with this livery if it was more integrated
and it's not.
But overall, yeah, I'm okay with this one.
It is a little bit bland.
I'm glad they didn't go more white with it just based on what we saw from a few of the
other teams.
Of course, Hass and V-Car went more white than they have done in previous years.
So I appreciate they still would have had the blue.
So it wouldn't have been too difficult to tell them apart.
But I'm glad they didn't lean into that too much.
Sam, you didn't like this one.
No, it's so, so boring.
And the color blue is a really rubbish color blue.
I think the way the decals of you really spoken about
and being displayed is so unimaginative.
That last year, I thought, I think I've said that incorrectly again,
but I thought they've done something a little bit more interesting with that.
And the golf, the fact that golf is one of the most iconic sponsors in the sport.
And it's like, it's just been forgotten.
It's like a just a side note.
and I think that's awful.
The juror cell box on there.
That's really clever, mate.
Did you not see that?
I've never seen it before.
I don't know why they've not done that sooner.
It haunts me forever
and I always will mark them down for it
until it's gone and I can move on from that legacy.
That's not their fault.
It's people missed out on it the first time.
It's not my fault.
Like, no, a lot of action observing.
I just think it's so,
I would rather you be offensive than boring.
And it's so boring.
And that's my problem.
Click that, Kirstie.
I will say with the sponsorship side of things,
it does look to me, the Atlassian logo,
because you've got the Kamatsu logo that kind of takes the position of what would normally
be the title sponsor.
Like that,
that logo hasn't changed at all versus last year's car.
It does feel like, oh, there are title sponsor.
We need them prominently somewhere.
There's a bit of space just sort of.
The logo is too big for the area they put it in.
But I think they kind of like,
because it's come together quite last minute this deal, right?
And it feels to me like they'd already given out the spots
to the other brands and then like, oh, there then?
Yeah, I agree.
It looks like you've done it in a video game.
You've already got about three variations of customization,
and that's what they've ending up with.
I'm also a big fan of the race suits.
Okay, well, we're not judging them, so I guess I'm there.
No, no, I'm just putting it out.
I don't want you to.
Oh.
Go away then.
It's a great comeback.
Why you grow up, mate?
Of course, we don't even know who's going to be driving for him,
because I know Carlos Seins and whoever the other guy is.
Just a random guy on.
But there were loads of others with helmets on.
It could be any of those.
Daniel Ricardo's under there somewhere.
Great marketing play if they did that.
It would.
For reference, the Discord had the Williams 8th on their list,
so they didn't particularly love this one either.
Well done, discourse.
We now go to the team that doesn't know what to call itself
and apparently jokes about that now.
V-Carb, racing balls, Alpha Tauri, Menardi, all the rest of it, Toro also.
They've gone quite different from last year.
So last year was the first iteration of what we would call the V-Carb era.
But they haven't gone with something very closely resembling last year's livery.
It did very well in our ratings last year.
So I had them second,
Harry had them third,
and Sam had them as the most improved.
But how are we rating this year's one?
Show us your white boy.
All right.
Three, two, one.
Good scores all round.
I've gone with an eight.
Sam's gone with a nine.
Harry's gone with a nine.
One of us has got to do a seven at some point.
For Len.
For Len.
No relevance can show at all.
A Len Goodman reference.
Sam kick us off.
Why do you like this one?
That white and that yellow,
it's just back to,
was it,
the 2021 Red Bull Honda,
the tribute that they did
around Suzuki and the like.
That was an absolutely stunning tribute,
and I think this is an ode to that.
White and yellow are a fantastic colour combination.
It's no secret.
I absolutely love a yellow Formula One car.
We need more yellow on the grid.
This is starting in a very small way to deliver.
That I think the sponsorship is really bold.
really clean. The Vs are on the side. I think it looks great on a Formula One car. I love
the Hugo on the front wing. I think it's really nice. What drops it to me from a 10 to a 9
is I don't like the tiny little blue red balls that are creeping up the side pods. And I don't
like the tiny bits of green from the cash app that exist on the front wing. You have to be
particular when it comes to deliveries, folks. And that's why it's a 9 not a 10. Yep. Looks really good.
everything really pops on this livery.
I think it was the one that caught people's attention the most.
It certainly got, it was the runaway winner from the Discord.
It wasn't even close.
So clearly the people enjoy this one.
Yeah, I'm trying to debate with myself as to whether I like this one more than last year's one.
I think I would just about give the edge to last year's one, but it is very close.
I think they're both great liveries.
I agree with what you said, Sam.
One of the two things let it down for me,
One of them was the tiny little racing balls towards the back of the car.
Tiny little racing balls.
The other, and maybe this isn't fair to criticize him on this,
this is the closest livery we've ever got to a Red Bull 2.0,
which is frustrating just based on what it means.
But in terms of like racing a livery, that might not be fair.
Harry, what did you think?
What you guys said, I've only not munted it full because we've got more to come.
but I really like this livery.
I think, yeah, it probably doesn't quite be last year's livery for me, but overall,
I'm a big fan of a simple white car with a bit of decals on it,
Braun GP, for example.
Love that.
So this, this ticks all the,
ticks all those boxes.
Am I right in saying the Orland sticker's gone now as well?
It has, yes.
Because that was pretty awful.
Yeah, I've got a picture of it my phone right now, and it has completely gone.
Thank goodness.
So yeah, very positive from all three of us, an eight and two nines.
We now go to Hasse and all that they've done in the sport since they debuted 10 years ago.
That's a point lost already.
Sorry, to go back to it, the shot, and it's like battled our way or whatever,
and it's a rear-view shot of a Hasse defending from a Red Bull inexplicably.
Maybe it was being lapped.
Yeah, it's safe man.
It definitely is.
That rattled me so much.
I'm like, you can't do that.
The Red Bull had three wheels on.
It's their F2 car.
Isaac Hachar from last year.
Hasse is a really interesting one.
Last year, Sam had it as his least favorite livery.
I had it as my favorite livery.
So this one could be very interesting.
All right.
Are you ready with your scores?
Ready.
Three, two, one.
Are you having a laugh?
Harry's gone with a 10 out of 10.
I've gone with a 9 out of 10.
Sam hates that he's giving it a 3.
Variety.
Sam, starts off.
We're back to being imposterous.
I see.
We're the American team.
We're bringing America.
We brought America to F1 to compete.
You come out with that crap.
It's boring as anything.
Gray, white, with a sprinkler red again.
Oh my God.
Where's the toy?
Where's the Americanism's got throwing into it?
You're about to get replaced.
Kagalaka coming.
They're turning up next year.
I so want Cadillac to be grey, white and red, because Sam will pop.
Sam will quit F1.
That's it.
I'm going to go into car.
We've got so much potential.
There's so much there that could be fantastic.
And you just don't do anything with it.
This is so boring.
I get that it's clean.
And that's fine.
But I said at the start, I would rather you be offensive.
they'd be boring.
Where is your bold eagle
on the side of it?
Where is the bloody
Rushmore
Presidents or whatever
it is plastered down
the side of the car?
I don't care what is.
You can't put Mount Rushmore
on the side of the car, man.
Who says?
Who says?
Jing Har's putting all four of them.
So stick them on there.
Max for Snap and overtaking
Thomas Jefferson.
Sit that in your economy.
Smoke it.
Genuinely,
I just think they're,
they just,
oh, there's so
much attention more than any other team, I think, and they never do anything with it.
And that's what frustrates me with this.
Harry, full marks.
Full marks, baby.
Last year, Ben, as you mentioned, you gave this your favourite car and a favorite livery.
And at the time, I liked last year, but I didn't give my favourite.
And there was just something missing.
And it turns out, apparently, the thing that's missing are white cypots.
Reverse the colours around.
And Harry's happy.
I saw this picture of this
because it leaked from the Silverson Shakedown
and I was like, goodness me,
I love it.
I don't really know what's fully why.
I think, well, obviously the reverse colours is one.
There's just some sponsors on it now.
Toyota, I know sound they're not very present,
but they're on the rear wing.
You've got the money grand ones.
And it all just fits in.
Everything fits together.
And I just really like how that car looks.
Ben, it's taken me a year for you to convince me on this.
But it's not my favour on the grid.
I'm shook of this.
I've shook of myself.
Yeah, I gave it a nine out of ten.
I love last year's livery.
I love this one as well.
I said that last year's livery was like Midland F1 had returned.
And this is the same, just the reverse of Midland F1,
which, sure, why not?
I thought it looked really slick, really simple,
really slick.
And yeah, I love Lassie's one.
I love this one.
Couldn't really separate them.
But yeah, I think it looks really, really good.
One of the things I do like in particular,
and I know it's a small thing,
I like what they've done with a number font.
I think the numbers look really good on the front of the car.
Only reason I didn't give this a 10 out of 10
was the number at the back of the car
doesn't quite fit, I think, with the rest of the delivery.
Also, tiny.
Yeah, I,
I've gone, I've got nine out of ten.
I'm going to start calling them
F1 land mid.
Yeah, that really works.
I reckon we should just cut that from the show.
It was that bad.
Why, he says the reverse of that midland F1.
It really rolls off a tug.
Next, we go to the last one before we take our next break.
We'll go to Alpine.
So once we got through their three hour long intro,
we didn't particularly love this livery last year.
It wasn't one.
Harry, I re-listened to your rant about it earlier today.
Good entertainment, won't lie.
Yeah, it was my worst livery, and it was Harry's worst livery as well.
Oh, sorry, has, before I mentioned.
It was the Discord second favourite.
Other day off, we've fallen out.
Yeah, Alpine.
So it didn't get good reviews last year, but it looks quite a bit different this year.
So how are we going to rate it?
Are you ready?
Three, two.
two, one.
There's Malang Goodman.
Seven.
Seven.
That's the lowest rating of the three because Harry's gone with an eight.
And Sam, you can kick us off.
You've gone with full bucks.
It's a 10.
That's like, they've done one thing right.
They've done one thing right.
And they branded their car properly.
That metallic blue down the side, that's how you do blue.
It's absolutely gorgeous.
And when you pair it with that kind of the juxtaposition of that lovely pink,
It's not the weird pink there a couple of years ago.
It's a slightly different shade.
And I just think they've got the proportions of it right.
The BWT logo sits brilliantly on the blue at the front, the pink on the side.
It's married up so, so nicely.
I think in the setting sun when we start to race,
if they change that before we get there, I will have a meltdown.
But if it rolls up to Albert Park and it looks like that,
then they are going to look great all season long.
And I'm very, very exciting for it.
It is punchy.
it is bold, it will stand out across the rest of the grid,
even if it's at the back.
I'll look back there and go,
isn't that a gorgeous back end that Formula One's got?
And right now, it's a beautiful thing.
And I absolutely love it.
Well done Al Ping.
You've done one thing right this year.
I'll admit, when I first saw it, I wasn't sure.
The more I see it, the more I like it.
I enjoy the way that they've mixed the pink and blue.
The one thing I would want them to change a little bit.
I think there's a bit too much black on the car.
I'd like to see it just, I know a lot of teams have sort of carbon fiber,
so you can't really avoid the black.
But the pink and blue, I think, would work even more if it was featured just a little bit more predominantly.
But yeah, I mean, it's got some colors on it.
So it was always going to be better than last year.
And yeah, like I said, the more I look at it, the more I do like it.
So, yeah, seven from me.
And Harry, you're a fan as well.
Yeah, it's got color on it this time.
So let me see that.
Nate. To be honest, the thing that for me was the pink BWT on the side of the blue, as you've already mentioned, Sam. I like that a lot. I like it. I like it a lot. It looks like a terrible 90s back marker. And that's all I want. And that's a compliment. I mean, but also Alpine. It will race like a terrible 19th back. It still is a 90s back marker. Right. So fairly positive on Alpine to end our first half.
half of Pimp My F1, but we still have the top five teams from last year's championship still
to come after this.
Welcome back, everyone.
We've done the bottom half of the 2024 Constructed Championship.
We now move into the top half and we start with Thames, aka A.A. A.A. A. A.ston Martin.
Still going with the same sort of livery concept we've had from the last few years, but certainly
some differences versus the last few years as well.
How are we rating this one?
Are you ready with your ratings?
Yes.
Three, two, one.
Okay, so we've got a couple of sixes and then a four from myself.
Harry, you seem qualified to talk about this one.
I actually don't dislike this, mainly because it is slightly different.
And I do like, there's a couple of additions of lime, I think, in there that we've not really had.
I mean, it's very, very, it's a small amount because it's a line.
it's just a lime line
but I like that
where it lets itself down
is the inclusion of the madden
which again
that's the new INEOS
yeah exactly on the airbox
which apparently had to be in white
don't like that
and you can do the Aramco
on the side pod in white
why can it not be in white
on the rear wing
yeah
yeah
that's where it lets it down for me
but overall still a very solid
solid livery
for me, but it's
versus what we've had.
It's not as good.
But I appreciate the change.
Yeah, I was the most negative
of the three of us on this one.
I think it's the worst Astor Martin Livery
for a few years, I will admit.
Why some the pink, the pink lines?
Oh, yeah, that was cool.
The BWT, because they had been
the BWT sponsorship.
When was that?
First year.
20, 21.
Yeah, first year.
Yeah, worst one since then.
I think it's worse than 22 and 23.
But I, yeah, I think I'd pick it over the
2021.
I think there are some positives.
I think the numbers look great.
Yep.
Oh, the lime numbers.
Yes, of course.
Yeah.
And overall, I enjoy more lime on the car.
I think the problem is how it's actually been executed.
The lines on the side of the car aren't as smooth as they've been in previous years.
It looks a little disjointed.
The Aramco sponsorship is now, I don't know, I just like it neat and in one line with,
and it's kind of just packed in and on its side now,
which I don't really like.
It does seem as if, again,
there's a bit more of black on the car
and maybe from the carbon fiber,
which I'm not a massive fan of.
And you picked out the one thing I dislike most
about this livery, Harry, which is that madden,
whatever the one, I don't know what it is.
Making me madden.
Making me madden.
That's sensational.
So, yeah, I don't think it's outright awful,
but yeah, I think this is a down.
grade on last year. Sam?
Numbers massively ramps up for me.
Love those big lime green numbers on there.
I think it's really really cool.
It's not properly green.
I'll stand by that.
And also the carbon fiber
does not work with that shade at all.
And the placement of it on the car is horrendous.
I think from that kind of not completely bird's eye view,
that almost kind of like third person driver can,
but from behind where you're looking at from that angle,
it just looks really messy with what's going on there.
spies as well, the fact that we've got the black carbon fiber, the weird blue green, the lime
green, the white. It's just a lot going on. I don't think it's really being thought through
properly. So very middle of the road, it's not the worst car by far on the grid, but I think
it's got a lot of things to make it down. The carbon fiber placement is, and is frustrating
because last year they were the best of that in my view because they hid it all on, you can
only see it from a top down view, basically. And this year, they've done, no, we won't do that anymore.
Yeah, I completely agree.
I did forget to mention before the break
the Discord ranked Alpine
as the third best livery on the grid.
Aston Martin, you just said, Sam,
it's middle of the road.
Discord agrees with you.
Sixth place.
Fair.
Maybe it's foreshadowing
where they're going to finish this season.
Who knows?
Let's go into the top four.
Mercedes.
Am I right in saying Mercedes
haven't actually released
renders of their car to this point?
Obviously, we saw it last night, the livery,
but I can't actually see them
posting it themselves.
I think that might as well have been their 2014 car.
They're showing nothing.
Nothing to no one.
You're punks.
Last year, Sam, you had Mercedes as your runner up
and Harry had it as the most improved.
What are we going for this year?
Are you ready with your numbers?
Oh, hang on.
I'm too busy looking at pictures of it again online.
Yeah, same.
I'm ready, boss.
I'm ready, boss.
Three, two, one.
one.
Okay.
Oh gosh.
Bit of a variety here.
So I'm in the middle of you both on a six.
Sam has gone for an eight.
Harry's gone with a four.
Sam, start us off positively.
Yeah, I think this is not as good in a lot of areas,
but I also think they've weirdly made some really nice changes.
The Ineos has moved from that airbox.
Thank Christ for that.
It's now just on the inside of the front wing,
tying a little ENDSM plate,
and I'm sure we'll see that get knocked off by Kimi Antingale
on at least 15 of the 24 races.
So doing God's work, Kimmy.
But yeah, that red that they had on the car
is almost, again, we're going to get onto this,
what Ferrari are going through at the moment with HP.
It just conflicts with their identity.
It conflicts with everything that we know about the car.
I love the dark colours.
I love the stars that they've got on there to represent the AMG.
I love the fade into the turquoise with the silver.
They do this kind of stealth, dark livery.
They do it really, really well.
All of the sponsors bling really really nicely.
it is becoming a little samey.
But you've got to maintain that branding.
I understand that.
But it's clean.
It's well put together.
It's professional.
It will look good on the racetrack.
I like it.
I don't absolutely love it.
I like it.
Harry, you're not a massive fan of this one.
I just think that pick a lane.
Pick a lane and stick to it because I just don't feel like this one knows where it is supposed to be.
Is it is it a fully camo black Mercedes?
Is it a bit of both?
Which last year I think they did really well,
bar them in Eos,
and I am,
you're right,
very pleased that's gone from the airbox.
I just,
I don't know.
And maybe I'll feel differently once,
I actually see some more pictures
that weren't just under the studio lights at the O2.
But yeah,
I just felt a little bit messy.
The Petronus,
Petronus coloring,
the teal,
it's probably the least well integrated for me
they've ever done.
It's just a line.
But it's, again, it's not the worst.
I just, I just, I was a bit frustrated.
I was like, oh, okay.
Fair enough.
But it's not great.
Yeah, I was maybe most unsure about this one because I immediately, what you said, Sam,
the Inios is gone.
Like, that was the big positive moment of that reveal.
And then I actually looked at delivering thought,
do I particularly like anything else from this?
Not massively.
I think it's fine.
But yeah, I think the side of the car does look a little bit worse than it did last year.
You've kind of got the Petronus logo and the team viewer logo sort of packed in.
And then you've got a lot of open space sort of behind it, which I don't think looks brilliant.
But yeah, I thought it was fine enough.
I think the Discord think it's fine enough as well.
They had it ranked fifth.
To move on to the top three.
Now, Red Bull, we weren't expecting much from them,
but they brought out an innovative design that we haven't seen of.
If you can find something that was different on this year's livery
versus last year's livery,
not including the buy-bit sponsorship,
I will buy you a drink.
We've still got the last one to go yet.
True.
Are you ready, kids?
Okay, let's reveal in three, two, one.
Yep, fairly similar scoring across the board here.
myself and Sam have gone for a four out of ten
but Harry you've gone even worse
with her three out of ten
yeah I look
I'm all four
iconic iconic livery's in F1
the Marlborough McLaren
the Vodafone McLaren the West
there is these wrong McLaren sorry
but liveries that stuck around for a long time
I'm all four but we are now
coming on to year
10 of this same matte blue livery
and it's had basically no changes in that time
apart from maybe some Honda sponsorships
it's time to let it go and maybe 26 is the year
but I just apart of me thought
they're going to do it aren't they?
Visa cash app they've gone all white
You weren't sucked into that
come on. I was I was mildly baited
which would be a good name for a band
but I just thought maybe they
they might have gone down a different road
and then they didn't.
So never mind.
I don't have too many notes on this one.
If you like Red Bull liveries,
you'll like this one.
You'll be happy.
Yeah.
And if you don't like them,
you won't like this one.
You're right.
I just want to reason with Red Bull.
You don't have to completely revolutionize the car.
Just a bit of change.
Just a little bit.
Mercedes and Ferrari do it very well,
where they don't necessarily reinvent the wheel
when they do a livery, but they at least make it look somewhat different from the year before.
Red Bull, you really cannot tell the difference between the 25 livery and the 24 livery.
And part of me is a bit upset about that because going into this event, I was like, this sort of
an event is like tailor made for Red Bull and the stunts that they like to do.
And it felt to me like they were a little bit, everyone knows we're not going to change the livery,
so we're not actually going to make a massive deal out of it.
And that's a shame, because I thought that they would be, like, leading the way in terms of making something of their time.
Instead, yeah, four out of ten, yeah, spot the difference.
Sam.
Yeah, literally that.
It is an iconic livery at this point.
It is inoffensive.
It's fine.
It's had some brilliant moments about Formula One.
I don't dislike the livery, but I've seen the livery a thousand times, and I'm pretty bored of seeing that livery.
You know, I can't, oh, no, I was just going to make a comparison about eating chicken.
it's out of my dog's, but I can eat that.
Oh, go on.
Guys, because it's wrong.
It's a lie.
That's a 10 out of tech every time I have it.
Anti-chicken nugget.
Who am I kidding?
I don't want to lie to the people.
Yeah, I just, yeah, I've got nothing else to say.
I'm not going to drag it on.
But it was just, okay,
corporate would like you can find the difference between two photos.
The Red Bull livery designer is laughing every year.
How did they got a job?
They surely don't have a disabled.
He or she is handing that.
in and going, I bet they're going to say no this time.
And he's like, again, another yes.
Right, off the pub.
And one mubs in the Caribbean, boom.
Walks into the boardroom, slaps down the picture.
And Christian Hogan looks up and goes, by God, you're banging again.
He's slapping down a picture of the 2016 Red Bull going, again.
And they've gone, you blind genius.
How have you done it?
They'll never see this comic.
Okay, so we didn't rate the Red Bull very highly.
Neither did the Discord.
It was the Discord's least favorite livery.
Whoa.
Huge.
So we come down to just two teams.
Ferrari are up next.
They typically do very well in this segment that we do on a yearly basis
because Harry has ranked Ferrari as the top livery in each of the last two years.
Sam has ranked Ferrari as the top livery in each of the last three years.
but will they hold on to that honour or not remains to be seen?
Do we have some scores?
We do.
In three, two, one.
Oh, Lord.
Yikes.
I've been the most positive.
Three out of ten.
Harry's gone with a two.
I thought he's gone with a one.
Wait, do I have to do the positive bit?
I wasn't ready for that.
I was expecting at least one of you to like it.
It's not the mission win now green.
That's a positive.
Fair.
That's a great point.
Ooh, boy.
It's not the, it's not the, oh, that was the same car, wasn't it?
I was going to say the mission win now one had the like two-tone red.
That was also terrible.
Ignore me.
The weird thing is a lot of people are pointing out the white on this
and I think it looks really bad
I could live with the white aspect of it
I actually just don't like the rest of it
White on a Ferrari is not rare and regularly looks great
I've seen many examples of this car working
it's HP love your printers guys love you printers
No yeah I don't anymore let them have the black logo
or the white logo just not the blue one
Why are you doing this to us?
You've lost a customer.
Yeah, throws HP out the window.
I won't be printing again.
I, yeah.
I don't understand.
Again, I honestly think you could remove the HP stuff from it.
I still wouldn't like this livery.
I still, I think the rest of the side of the car is not good looking.
I've seen a couple of versions.
One, the people have already done on Twitter.
One, the white is replaced with a full yellow stripe and it has a black HP logo.
And I quite liked that.
Yeah.
Boom.
One also just had the white,
but instead of the HP logo,
it had a big black prancing horse.
That was a big fan of that as well.
That was stanging.
That's why the HP,
and I don't like that.
I think even if they had the white
without the HP,
I'd still prefer last year's easily.
But white on a Ferrari should work.
We've had it a lot back in the day,
but back in the Schumacher days,
it was there all the time.
Where's my big Ferrari rear wing on?
Oh, that's a tragedy.
Why do I have three blue HP stamps on it?
What's that?
about. Why is there a HP on the side and this weird white diagonal? It doesn't fit properly.
It's like someone's put a coaster across a table and go, that works. That's how that works.
It's all over the front wing as well. And they've gone, well, the blue doesn't work for HP.
So what do we do? Make everything white. It's still blue, red and white. It's an atrocious color
combination. You are massacring my boy. Lewis Hamilton is trying to have a good time and you
it's going to look hideous every week because of you. And if the tracksuit looks good.
Yes, this is true.
This isn't new for this year,
but another thing that I routinely dislike
about the Ferrari livery is the carbon fiber
triangle they have towards the back of the car.
Yes, I don't understand it.
Not a fan.
So, yeah, Ferrari,
not exactly doing very well in our rankings.
It's more just the disappointment, all right?
I'm so disappointed.
Collective score of six.
The Discord were all over the place with this one, to be honest.
I'm not surprised.
I do think it's a real opinion splitter, actually.
Yes.
It ended up being fourth in the rankings for the Discord,
although the difference between like fourth and seventh was pretty minimal.
So now we just go to the final one, which is McLaren.
Of course, Constructors champions, they had the championship trophy out with them,
as well as a number of their older cars.
That was hell of cool, by the way.
That was hell of cool.
I love that.
Do more heretic stuff, F1 teams.
Yeah, I think I, and I thought about this afterwards,
I guessing it's because they were last so they could do that.
Maybe.
Well, well done for doing that because you were last.
Yeah.
If Red Bull did that, it would be eight of the same cars.
Of course.
2016, Normans, yeah.
This livery will get one of its three outings this year at the Australian.
Yeah, can we even count this?
Because what's the point?
This is actually a special livery.
It might as well be at this.
point.
It's a test anyway.
We do have some scores.
Three, two, one.
Okay.
So we have got a two from Sam, a four from Harry, and a six from myself.
Sam, start us off.
It's amazing that you can get black and orange so wrong.
It works so well in so many instances.
Just go and look at an arrows.
That's what a sexy bat marker looks like.
Maybe it's because you're quick.
Maybe you can't be good looking and quick at the same time.
I take it back.
Charlecler exists.
But it just doesn't work for me.
And what brings it down even further is the Google Chrome Wheels don't work with the black and orange livery.
They now don't work with the weird little blue parts around the halo.
I just don't think it sets out nice.
And the black is carbon fiber.
It's got proper lovely glossy black.
It's carbon fiber.
I just, I don't love it at all.
It just feels like they have the potential.
think you're something really, really brilliant with this papaya,
and they just can't seem to get it right for me.
It hasn't really worked once since they've gone to it.
I don't like it at all.
I really don't enjoy it.
I'd like to big up Andrea Stella for being such a nice man
that he cushioned the blow before unveiling the car
by saying there's lots of new innovation in this car, technically,
but the delivery's the same, and then it took it.
Then it to the covers off.
Yeah.
Just one of you guys, are you going to be disappointed?
That's why he's the same.
just like holding your hand through this
you're not going to enjoy this guys but it's going to be fine
just give it a big squeeze and it'll be over soon
I genuinely don't have much to say on this one
I thought last year's one was fine
and this is basically the same so still fine
I still hate the Google Chrome Wheels
but outside of that
I really don't have any notes this shit it's okay
yeah it was seventh place in the Discord rankings
by the way
which means, I think that means we can put together our collective rankings.
If you'll give me just a moment.
So our least favorite livery is Ferrari that scored six out of a possible 30 points.
Nice.
Very valid.
We then have a tie for eighth place between Salber and McLaren, who both end with 12.
We've got, oh, sorry, no, Red Bull and Ninth with a third.
11 and then we've got a tie for 7th between McLaren and Salbot on 12.
13 points for Williams in 6th and then in the top half we've got
we've got 16 for Aston Martin, 18 for Mercedes and then a top three of Hass in third
were 22, Alpine in second were 25 and our favourite collective livery is V-Hub with 26 points.
Oh, sorry.
That's great.
No, down, don't, no, no, no, no, no, slick as ever.
Let us know in the comments, in the reviews on Discord,
wherever you want to find us, do you agree with our ratings or not?
Given there were 10 teams, I'm shocked if you've managed to agree with us and all of them.
But yeah, let us know.
We'll take our final break on this episode on the other side.
We've got F1 higher and lower.
everyone it's time to close out the show with a game of f1 higher and lower
is sam faster is harry slower
f1 higher
f1 lower
f1
beautiful f1 higher and lower six questions in front of me sam and harry will take it in turns
to pick a number they'll get a question which has a numeric answer
if they're able to get it spot on they get two points if they can't get it right
the other person has the opportunity to say higher or lower.
If they get it right, they get a point.
But if they get their guess wrong,
it's the person who gets first that gets the point.
So, Harry, kick us off.
What number would you like?
Number four, please, Ben.
Number four.
Well remembered that we hadn't done four yet.
I want you to tell me the number of points
between Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg
in their time together at Mercedes.
Oh, you can do this, mate.
I reckon you'll nail it in one.
133.
It is not 133.
Sam, higher or lower?
Higher.
It's correct.
It's a good guess, though.
133 is a very good guess.
139 is a...
Oh!
Always feel bad when you don't get a point for a very good guess.
That's painful.
That is painful.
Now you know how Rosberg felt.
Rules of the game.
Sam gets the point for correctly identifying higher.
Losing out three world championships is the equivalent of losing a point on higher or lower.
I would say so.
Can you see him, Sam.
Oh, sorry, what I'm saying?
Two world championships.
Sorry, Nico.
Yeah, come on.
British bias.
Rewriting history.
Sam, what number would you like?
I'll have number five, please.
Number five.
How many times has Max Verstappen won from pole position?
A lot.
Higher.
It's lower.
sorry.
It's like a long
it'll be a joke that, isn't it?
How many times do you won from pole position?
I'm going to go with 41.
Not 41, Harry, higher or lower?
Lower.
It is lower.
We're at one all because the correct number is 32.
So not a bad guess at all saying 41, but 32.
This stats to be ridiculous.
He's won from poll 80% of the time he's been
which compare that to Schumacher and Hamilton,
they're both at 58%.
Shows that team mates are Washington,
didn't it?
Yeah.
Sure.
I thought that was quite remarkable.
Very cool.
One all, back to you, Harry.
Number six.
Well done.
I managed to not pick the one
that you picked last time,
the one you heard 30 seconds ago.
You say heard.
I pick five because it's always Harry's go-to answer.
How many seasons has Valtrey Bottas scored more than 100 points in?
Oh, the fingers are out, folks.
Other good catchphrase.
All right, Christian.
Sorry.
I'm going to say eight, Ben.
It is not eight, Sam.
Lower lower.
Lower.
It is lower.
Can you guess how many lower?
It's seven.
It's seven, yeah.
I can't count.
So he did it in 2014, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 20, and 21.
He scored 85 points in 2016.
What was he doing in 16?
Valtrey.
Come on.
She busy whining and dying in Toto, W.
Come on, Valjev
Kevin my lines ago.
Sam, over to you.
You're a two on up.
Three.
There it is.
Three.
How many current F1 drivers
have won a race
before turning 25?
I thought you're just going to say
one of race.
Damn it.
Before turning 25.
Hmm.
Hmm.
seven.
Sorry, Len Goodman.
It is not seven.
Harry, higher or lower?
I'll go lower.
It is not lower,
which means Sam gets the point
and gets the 3-1.
Nine drivers on the current grid
won before they got to the age of 25.
In fact, there are 10 race winners
on the grid right now,
so only one of them,
can you guess who,
didn't win a race before they did.
turn 25?
Fanando.
He was pretty young.
Science.
Science is the correct answer, yes.
Yes.
But all the other ones, yeah, won a race before turning 25.
Old Man Science.
Harry, back to you.
Number two, please.
Well played.
How many teammates did Rubens Barakallo have in F1?
Ha ha ha ha ha ha.
You know, it's going to be some cheeky little monkeys in there.
It's going to use my white bodice later.
You cheeky little monkey, jenzy little monkey.
I don't really know.
Sounds like a you problem, mate.
Do you know what, Ben?
Grubber.
Got you.
He's actually there, mate.
Got you.
How did you for a bag of chips?
Turn the page, Sam.
I don't know, 13.
It is not 13, Sam, higher or lower than 13.
Poor, I'm going to go lower.
It is not lower, which means Harry gets the point.
Man had 15 teammates in F1.
He had five in his first year.
What?
What do you do to them?
in his first year at Jordan.
Was his first year in 93?
Ooh, yes.
I think so.
Five in that first year.
That's outrageous.
We're on the being Eddie Irvine.
There's a fun to know about Eddie Irvine.
Sam, but we'll have to wait another time.
I'll tell it.
Hang on the other day.
Which means, Sam, you have,
there we go, as written on the whiteboard,
number one.
And if you get this right, of course,
you win the game at three, two up at the moment.
what was the pole position time
at the 1951 German Grand Prix
at the Nürbergring?
Brilliant.
Fantastic.
And the Nürberg ring.
At the Nürberg ring.
Ah, good.
So was the Gorge life, including in this at that point?
That's the problem that I need to work out.
Oh, the number could range from anything to about 2 minutes 30 to about
15 minutes here.
7 minutes, 52 seconds.
Shockingly, it's not 7 minutes and 52 seconds.
Darn.
Harry, quicker or slower?
F1.
Quicker.
I'm going to go quicker.
It's not quicker, which means Sam wins the game.
The pole position time was 9 minutes and 56 seconds.
Imagine that.
And he starts his.
lap.
Right, do you want to get a tea?
Come on.
Yeah, yeah.
Fifth place was 10.8 seconds back.
Oh, God.
I might roast jinger at that time.
Good.
Which means Sam claims the win.
4-2.
Well done, sir.
Thanks, mate.
And I'm sure you enjoyed that very much.
You've enjoyed Pimp My F1.
You've enjoyed everything that we've done
on today's episode, but you're not going to enjoy it
as much as this next segment,
which I would probably call.
No, actually, I'd definitely call it,
the greatest segment in all of podcasting.
It is the...
I'll be question of the week.
Beautiful.
Our question of the week was asking,
why didn't we attend F-175
other than the actual reason of we were rejected?
Don't say that on the podcast.
Do you know what?
Don't mind that we don't go.
You turn them down.
You know what?
We have a better view from our sofas.
Yeah, and I could just go immediately to bed afterwards.
you know it will be really
cold on the cube as well
this is diabolical
old man Harry
it's so grumpy about it
finished corona
just go to sleep
first one from
Alex Clement on Instagram
which I love is throwing a surprise party
for Ian the cat
she's got a poorly ear at the moment
so she would not have
oh Ian
well soon
Beef came in with a good answer
of they decided to go out on a day out to Clacton Pier
which to be honest I would prefer
I've got camping there
on Clacton Beer
Not on the pier itself
I have to say my favourite answer this week was from Jude
who just said broke
So broke
So broke
Laura really put a single place on Instagram here
because only real journalists are inviting.
Love you, bye.
Yeah, fair do's.
Yep.
You bag our pants out,
that, cheers.
Dylan Volkringer,
great name,
they're going to New Market instead.
I'll give you a tour.
It's a wonderful town.
Our good friend Mike,
Mike Bridgett, Saudi Arabia
hasn't invested enough in the show.
Yeah, that is a great point.
My next answer,
which is the correct answer,
was from Matt on Twitter.
Too much Riz.
We actually do have too much Riz.
Us to Colopinto in the same room and the O2 would have exploded.
Just too much Riz.
It's full of Riz.
Ben Turnbull came in with Harry is hosting a roast with his gammon that night, which,
you know, I was at work today in the canteen.
They had gammon and I didn't have any.
I'm actually regretting that choice.
You're all right?
Well, I didn't really want a whole, it was like gammon and roast.
I didn't really want that.
I did question, I would consider questioning.
could I go and get a piece of gammon
and put it in a bit of bread and make a sandwich,
but I thought it's too much.
Come of clarifying questions.
One,
gammon roast on a Wednesday.
Well,
it's Gammon Wednesdays, mate, obviously.
Two, the quote said
that you were too busy hosting with your gammon.
That tells me that the gammon is a part.
I know that it was a roast of the gabon.
Oh, so like it was a comedy roast.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You're so fat, your mummer's a gammon.
You're so stupid, you didn't even take advantage of Gammon Wednesdays.
Me in my kitchen, roasting a gammon, but it's not actually cooking it.
I'm just insulting a piece of gammon.
That was my interpretation.
You're my phone slacking it off.
Chris here says, Harry is getting a new silent microwave installed,
and Sam is repairing his roof finally.
Now, quick story on that.
I've moved house, so I don't have the leaky roof.
But all winter, I've been like, this,
We're going to bed.
There's a breeze.
It's really cold.
I can't work out.
Turns out there's an actual hole in my window.
Oh, yeah.
A hole in the window.
Hold in the window.
Bring on the window.
It's made me that big and didn't notice it for a whole year.
And there is a breeze in my bedroom.
And there was.
And that winter comes out the cupboards.
Oh, goodness me.
One more from me.
GR 63 fan.
They've already booked Jack Whitehall
Machine Gun Kelly and take that.
No need to hire the centre of that Venn diagram as well.
Sure.
We are the only people that can get those three things, obviously.
Yeah, that makes sense.
Last one from me,
from Julian Brandt's,
which is they don't selfish figure sandwiches at the O2.
And that would make me very sad.
Yeah, Fed is.
I'll go on the last one.
A-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-Hs, saying,
they're watching 1917,
which probably...
That's seen, not that it.
Oh, got, one shot.
What's...
The whole movie.
One-on-all shot.
It's unbelievable.
And that bit where he's running,
you're ennoxing to that guy,
got intentional.
Cinema.
She's Martin.
Well,
Pem My F-1 is in the books,
but one thing that's not in the books yet
is teammate wars.
The return of teammate wars
is coming up this Sunday
and Sam will be in person for it.
Immediate cut.
Which is what we used to do, of course,
with teammate wars.
Go on copyright strikes.
Oh, God love him.
God love them. Thanks, Star Wars.
Anyway, yeah, we'll be in person
for teammate wars, which is fantastic.
We're meeting up, we're going to be in that lovely studio
that we hired out.
So if you'd like to feast your eyes
upon said studio and then also our faces on the side,
You can watch it on YouTube.
YouTube is available.
We have grown approximately
about 100 subscribers
in the last two months,
which is brilliant.
Love that.
One step closer to your 10K.
Thank you kindly.

We're about to do
a historic review
and I haven't told the guys
that I've only watched
half of the race
and we're going to go
the second half
for that episode
is going to be a real trip for you.
You'll never guess
it wins, mate.
Completely forgot what happened.
We forgot we had to watch it
started it half a hour
before we start recording.
Turns off the DC's leading.
That's my winner.
Discord is available
