Starting point is 00:00:40 It was just another holiday party until Michelle arrived with a chocolate basque cheesecake. Two rich cocoa's caramelized top, which Michelle claimed to have just whipped together. But the evidence told another story. An empty PC box, a receipt in her purse. All right, Susan, I bought the PC chocolate basque cheesecake. It was just $11. Can you stop true cramming me? Can I have another slice?
Starting point is 00:01:05 Try the season's biggest hits from the PC Holiday Insiders Report. Thank you for listening to the late-breaking F-1 podcast. Make sure to check out new episodes every Wednesday and every Sunday. Folks, a little update for you. You've heard the news that Christian Horner has been removed from Red Bull. That news came out after you're recording what you're about to listen to. If you're going to hear us, break it down, go back and listen to that emergency podcast. It's the episode before this one, and we run through our.
Starting point is 00:01:45 immediate reaction, all the immediate news and the changes that have happened to the Red Bull family. Thanks for listening. Hello and a very warm welcome to the late-breaking F-1 podcast brought to you by Harry and me, Samuel Sage. We don't have any racing coming up this weekend. So we're talking to you about general news, bits and pieces. We've got a new one-off game because Ben isn't here. So it's called, you're taking the Michael.
Starting point is 00:02:11 Stay tuned for what that means later on. Good God. And we're discussing lots of other interesting things such as Bastapen's possible move to Mercedes, the FIA presidency, three testing days for the new regulations. I'm sure we'll have lots of silliness as well because the adult has gone away and the kicks have been left to play. Harry, how are you, my friend? I'm well. I can hear the collective groan of our audience as they realize they tune in for them weekly, mid-week podcast from the LB boys and Ben isn't here and it's just been left.
Starting point is 00:02:41 We've been handed the keys to the city and it's terrifying. This isn't happen very often. it's quite funny. No. Yeah, I mean, as a duo, when there is no cameras, we are the silliest pair in the world. So this is going to be great recorded. But I promise you, there will be some,
Starting point is 00:02:57 well, we'll try and do some proper good F-PAT. Don't promise anything. Break down some. It's a back start. It's a back start. So I'm sure you've all seen the news recently, but there's a lot of speculation going on about the fact that Max Verstappen may be making a move to Mercedes.
Starting point is 00:03:12 And this may displace either George Russell or Kimi Antingelli. The rumours are. It will be George Russell that moves on should this move happen. Harry, I thought we'd look at this from kind of the four different angles, I suppose. You've got the two teams slash team bosses in Christian Horner and Toto Wolf. You've got the drivers themselves in Max Verstappen and then, of course, the Russell Antingelli camp. I thought we'd start with Christian Hall then because he's been quite vocal recently about what's been going on. And I've got a quote from him here.
Starting point is 00:03:37 This is not said to me, by the way, folks, has been said to Sky. He says, I still believe that we have strengths and depth in this team. Unfortunately, we haven't seen the performance come that we would like. We're at the end of a set of regulations, and I think we are compromised by some of the tools that we have. But it's the same fundamental group of people that 18 months ago designed the car that won every single Grand Prix bar won. They didn't suddenly just become idiots overnight.
Starting point is 00:04:02 Great quote, by the way, Christian. I love that from you. Do you agree with him? Have they just become a saving eye? Is it the same group of people? Should Max the Staff of view this as the same organisation that won him that title? I think Christian Horn has got a valid point. I don't think they have become idiots overnight.
Starting point is 00:04:22 An F1 team is not just made up of one or two geniuses. There's not a couple of Adrian Nui's in every F1 team. It takes a lot for success. However, and we've noted this as time as war on, they've lost more than just Adrian Nui. They've lost quite a few people, Jonathan Wheatley, for example, who now is with Salba, got the latest podium over Red Bull,
Starting point is 00:04:43 which is highly funny. More podium since, than Red Bull in the last one race. Than ever. But, but yeah, so there's notable absentees that have left the team
Starting point is 00:04:58 over the past, you know, year 18 months that are bound to make a difference. And I think they are seeing the effects of this. I know that towards you know last year, you know, Red Bull wasn't as quick as than McClure.
Starting point is 00:05:13 and people were saying, oh, it's the Adrian Ui effect already, but I'd never bought into that. I always thought that that effect of these people leaving would start to show this year, but probably around this time and as we get into 2026, and I think that is what we are seeing. But it's, it is tough to, I think it's tough to say that Red Bull is suddenly now
Starting point is 00:05:37 going to be a back and like a rubbish team. They've got, they've got some clever, clever people on that team. Hannah Schmidt, for example, on the strategy. She's still a genius strategy. She's still there. GP, not an idiot. He's very good at his job at engineering mats for Steppen.
Starting point is 00:05:54 So there are a lot of clever people on that team and you don't know. They could still nail the 2026 regulations and Adrian E was only still there at the beginning of last year. There's no way they'd not already spoken about or
Starting point is 00:06:11 talked about or looked at 2026. I know they couldn't start, you know, building cars, et cetera until this year, but there's no way they hadn't already spoken about it. So I'm sure there are ideas that have been floated by him that are still in the system at Red Bull. Their facilities in Milton Keynes are massive. And obviously they've got the power train department,
Starting point is 00:06:28 which I know will be a concern for Fastapen. But yeah, they've got a lot of bright people there. I wouldn't just say, oh, it's all over for Red Bull. And, you know, as much as Christian Honour can be annoying, he's also very good at his job. I think it's, he put, gets a tough rap because of the things he says sometimes. But he is a successful team principle.
Starting point is 00:06:49 There's no denying it. And he's good at recruiting people. He is the person who got the Adrian Newell on board. So yeah, I wouldn't doubt him as much as maybe some people are. So I think he's got a valid point, but it's just about how much, how maybe Christian Horne needs to ring up James Vowles and see, you know, see how he sells dreams to drivers and people. because I think Christian Roder could really do with a bit of that right now to to sell the dream, to sell the vision to Maxfus Sappen that it's going to be okay.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Because I think he's clearly finding it tough with his comments like this. Yeah, I think Red Bull is a, it's not as a happy-go-lucky place that Christian Hall has tried to describe it as. And he doesn't seem to comment on the fact that they have lost quite a few key person out. He's tried to smooth that over and make light a bit. And they have, as you mentioned, you already lost Adrian Nui, who is wide. regarding as the greatest designer in Formula One history. They've lost Jonathan Wheatley, who is already doing a cracking job at Sal. You've seen the turnaround that they've had over the past six months already.
Starting point is 00:07:53 And they also lost Rob Marshall about 18, you know, 24 months ago. And he is also being integral to Red Bull success there. So that's almost, if you were to have the three pillars, which is becoming quite a common theme. When it comes to building a Formula One team, we've seen McLaren adopt it over the last few years and turn it into something of quite a success. Askin Martin, I believe, have done something similar. Williams are adopting a similar strategy. It's becoming quite the theme.
Starting point is 00:08:18 They've lost a lot of those key figureheads around the business. And when you pair those changes in personal culture with the negative press that Christian Horner and the Red Bull team have had over the past year or so now, it starts to build a picture that not everything is as comfortable and as happy as maybe Christian Horner would like it to be behind closed doors. Now, we know there's a big of an internal war going on between Helmut Marco, Christian Horner, the Stappen camp with his dad as well.
Starting point is 00:08:49 And I think that's causing a lot of cultural tension in there as well. And you combine that with the fact that the car is not really winging anymore. You know, the staff is doing as good as you can, but the car is having to be experimental. We saw what it was like in Silverstone with that really experimental setup. They're trying their best to pull results out of nothing. You know, they're really trying to manipulate situations to get anything they can. and the more they do this, the higher the risk of it not working time and time again is. So I'm starting to think that if Bostappan can't see a way that this improves,
Starting point is 00:09:20 if you can't see the growth potential inside the team, these rumors that he's going to genuinely stay for his full contractual. I think currently ends in 2028. I'm getting more and more slim, and it feels like maybe Christian Horner is desperately trying to cling on to some very small straws to keep his multiple-time world champing in the sea. He doesn't want to lose him any time soon. On the flip side, Harry, we've got, of course, Toto Wolf,
Starting point is 00:09:47 who is very keen to pick up Max Verstappen. And he has also said, you need to be respectful towards the stakeholders in all of that process, the organisation, the drivers, everybody, said Wolf on the timeline for a decision. You need to understand the way forward. I don't want to be sadistic in letting a driver wait or not taking any decisions
Starting point is 00:10:07 well it should be taking. I feel in a good space. We're in June. There are lots of discussions around it, and I've been open with it, transparent. And at a certain stage in the next couple of months, until the summer break, everything is going to be done.
Starting point is 00:10:21 That implies, Harry, that he's talking about not wanting to string George Russell along for, I suppose Kimi Anthony Nelly, but the rumour is Russell, for a long period of time. What are your thoughts on letting Russell go? Is Vastapen the right person to replace him? Is that the right line up?
Starting point is 00:10:37 your thoughts? Firstly, I believe Toto Wolf on what he's saying here, because I think we've seen this in the in the past with drivers. He did the same with Valtry Bottas when they let him go in 2021. They gave him enough time to, you know, source another drive. It wasn't just an end of the season job like a Red Bull Perra-style thing. So I believe him and I respect him for that because I think that's the right way to do it. I've got a theory, and I've read this somewhere,
Starting point is 00:11:13 it's purely a theory, it's no grounds of fact behind this, but that Toto Wolf is actually very happy with George Russell, and he's going to sign him, and they're just doing this to annoy Christian Horn and Red Bull, because... Really? Like, whoever way you've read that,
Starting point is 00:11:32 do you generally think that Mercedes would go this far to get us irritate? But I don't even know what, like, there's nothing really been done. A lot of this is hearsay. There's clearly, there's an open, there's an open line of communication between George Russell and Toto Wolfe. But the fact that George Russell himself came out and said that they're having discussions, I don't know, George says some funny things sometimes. I just find that an odd thing for a driver to say if he wasn't very confident about his position in the team. So that, I don't know, there's part of me that maybe it's wishful thinking and I want to believe it.
Starting point is 00:12:10 But I don't know. I do believe that Tochard Wolfe would be interested in Max Verstappen. But I sense he knows that Vastappen probably won't leave yet. And he's biding his time. He might be, it might be flirting. I'm a little tickle. But I don't think. Is that how you flirt?
Starting point is 00:12:34 Is that what you do? how it works, right? You just tickle them. We just have a conversation on here. Ah, okay, fine. But yeah, I think he's laying the foundations for for Red Bull. If a Red Bull is terrible next year,
Starting point is 00:12:51 or not even terrible, but just not championship or worthy or competitive, I think he's laying the ground works now for when, if that does happen, he can go back and be like, come on, come on, son. come on over because I think Vestappen will be more easily persuaded to leave Red Bull if we have the new set of regulations next year and the Red Bull isn't any good because
Starting point is 00:13:17 then you're stuck but he's in that fortunate position that he's got a contract to go beyond I mean it doesn't matter what his contract is he'll report keeping whatever but he's got a contract till he already locked in he can see what the Red Ball is like and then make a decision from there so I do I do believe the rumours. that there are discussions being had, but I don't think from Toto's side that it is actually genuine for next year. I don't think this is a lining
Starting point is 00:13:43 max for Steppen up for 2026 because I think Deep Down for Stepanose probably won't leave. Unless something really drastic went wrong behind the scenes. And we've been surprised before in F1, Lewis Hamilton's now at Ferrari. So, yeah, I mean, that in itself,
Starting point is 00:13:59 it's like hiring your arch enemy, isn't it, after, you know, Or like you're going out with your ex-girlfriend's best friend afterwards. Who would do that? It's a savage move. But yeah, I don't think it's for, I don't think it's for 2026. I think it's for a move for 27 onwards he's laying the ground what's for. Do you think that George Russell's the right person from the team to get rid of?
Starting point is 00:14:25 I know Kimmy Antingelli has got a lot of potential and everyone's very excited, including us about what he might go on to achieve. He might be that next Lewis Hamilton, and that next Max Verstappen. But George Russell's done a pretty good job. You go across his career, 20 wings. 20 wings. Was it? 20 progium.
Starting point is 00:14:40 20 wings. It's amazing. It's a record break. No, 20 podium, I think six wings. Of course, all those wings came from Mercedes. Is that the right choice? Well, I think, and this could be why it's a tough one for Toto to consider here. But George Russell has been driving the past couple of last year and at least this year, and I know Silverson was at his finest hour
Starting point is 00:15:04 but he's been driving superbly well I think in my books and he it's quite a tough one for Toto because George Russell is a is a junior of Mercedes I mean he's not anymore but he was a
Starting point is 00:15:19 junior of Mercedes they brought him up through the ranks put him in the Williams for a few years to mature and then he and he's got into the Mercedes C I think Toto values what that looks like on Mercedes the team if they just dump him for Max Verstappen because I think Toto values what, you know, the Mercedes, the value of the Mercedes Junior program in the same sense, though, he's got
Starting point is 00:15:44 Kimi Antonelli, who is in the same position there. They've brought him up through the ranks and could well be, could well be the next bright star of Formula One. That in itself is a bit of a gamble because he might not, he might not hit that peak. I think we all think he probably will, but he may not do. So it's quite a tricky one. If that does save this happen, and my theory is wrong, Saviastappen does present himself and say, look, I want out of Rebel now.
Starting point is 00:16:09 I'm ready for you, 2026. Where do I sign? I think Toto does have a really tricky decision. I know it's mainly been around George Russell, but that's a real tough call because he's got two, he's got one great driver and another one that could be a great driver and potentially even greater. And he's going to have to swap one out for Max Verstappen.
Starting point is 00:16:28 And yeah, I wouldn't want to be in his position. So, yeah, the theory is it is Russell, but I'd, I would be surprised if it happened and they got rid of George Russell. I'd be quite shocked because what's he done wrong? What has he done wrong? Other things moan a little bit over the radio in classic, blighty manor. I'm not entirely sure what he has done wrong. Yeah, it's a really interesting predicament for Toto Wolf.
Starting point is 00:16:55 And you know what? It's a pretty good problem to have when all three options. that you've got on the cards are very, very good. George Russell has immediately breathed life into being the Mercedes team leader, took the battle from Lewis Hamilton and settled into that role as their elite driver really well, seems to be calling the shots nicely. He gets along with Kimmy Antingelli, brilliantly. They seem to be joking around all the time, having good chemistry.
Starting point is 00:17:21 And it looks like in their current pace, they're not close enough to realistically have any kind of inter-team rivalry when they might trip over each other. too often. Kimi Antingelli is why I'm a little bit unsure on whether Vestappan and Antingelli are the right partnership rather than Vestappan and Russell because we just don't know with Kimi Antingelli.
Starting point is 00:17:43 He's a rookie. He's down half a season at this point. If this is the fastest he ever gets and they make the choice to sign Bostappan this August, let's say that happens. That's the timeline we're in. 2026, Vestappen will become and the same is driver. What if Antingale never gets better? He's, what, a midfield driver currently at this point?
Starting point is 00:18:02 He's not bad. He's a very well-achieved young man. But he's not world champion level. He's not race-winging level right this second. So arguably would end up being the wrong call. But then you've got to deal with maybe the friction between the Stappan and Russell. I think he's come out on previous sake, Toto Wolf. I had to deal with Hamilton and Rosberg.
Starting point is 00:18:23 Why would this be any more difficult? I can handle anything after this point. All right, mate. Big dog. Oh, you're in dropping games, are we? In your flat cap. It's a really interesting predicament. And a problem that I think is being posed for Totoa Wharf is that George Russell doesn't want to sign, rumor has it, a one plus one contract, which is what is currently being offered to him.
Starting point is 00:18:48 I think Russell wants a longer term deal. Do you think that's fair for George Russell to kind of put up a bit of a, no, I want to commit my future to a team long term. I've earned my place. You think that's the right attitude to have. Yeah, I think it is. I think George Russell's earned the right to have a multi-year contract now. He's not a rookie anymore. I know one-plus-one technically is multi, but you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:19:10 It's hardly. It's just you might as well have a one year. It's technical almost. So I think he's fair to stand his ground. His stock is the highest he's ever been in Formula One right now. Why not push this? And Toto's lucky because the only thing is, there's not really any viable other options for George Russell
Starting point is 00:19:32 other than what could become a vacant Red Bull seat. But this one plus one tactic has backfired for Toto very recently in the fact that he did it for Lewis Hamilton and then Lewis Hamilton was like, do you know what? Nah, but I'm off. So I would be cautious of always Toto, but I think he's obviously playing the fact that there's not really any other options for George Russell to go to that will be super competitive.
Starting point is 00:19:59 So, yeah, I know there's rumors obviously Red Bull had been mooted, but Aston Martin as well, snooping around George Russell's management. Again, not sure who that is to replace, but yeah, George Russell might say yes to Adrian Neuer designed a car. That's a thing.
Starting point is 00:20:21 But, yeah, to answer your question, I think, yes, I think it's very fair for Russell to stand his ground on this one. I think he's done enough to deserve more than just a one-plus form. Now, I agree with you. He has done more to deserve a one plus one, at least for a two-year firm deal where there's no clause for him to be booted out for someone like Max Verstappen rather than this one plus one option. But it might be a bit of a means to arrange for him at the moment. It might allow him to open doors where he signs on the dotted line for a year with that plus one option to be extended, but it just buys him time. It just allows him to go. There isn't
Starting point is 00:20:57 anything right now. No one is moving in this driver market to a seat that I will actually be interesting in driving for because let's face it, Russell is what, one of the top four drivers on the grid right now around there with, you know, Norris Piaastri, DeClaire, bestapping himself. So top four or five, he fits into that group quite comfortably. Sorry, Tony Hamilton loves like myself. I know it hurts to hear, but I think we're at that point. You know, he's one of those golden era up and comers. And so he wants a top drive and he's put the working. He spent what three seasons at the back end of that Williams as the young driver. He then had to play second fiddle to Lewis Hamilton. He then came into his own and really
Starting point is 00:21:36 started to challenge Lewis Hamilton brilliantly over the three years that they were together. He's earned a bit of loyalty from Mercedes. At the same time, Formula One is a horrible, ruthless business where you could just be culled at any moment if a better option turns up on your doorstep. So I do wonder if he does end up capitulating and having a lot of. to sign a one plus one with the aim that he will then go somewhere at the end of 26 when a seat maybe opens up and more contracts come to an end. Finally, in this kind of almost four-way romance that we've got going on between teams and drivers, Max Verstappen is a really intriguing one.
Starting point is 00:22:15 He has interests outside of Formula One. He wants to be part of insurance racing. He's spoken about Lamont as an interest. We know he's been pretending to drive around the Nürberg ring as having a suitorium. and Franks Herman, which is always interesting. And I believe recently, his team won a GT3 race using an Ashton Marson-branded Red Bull. Am I right and thinking about Harry?
Starting point is 00:22:38 Correct. He did. Spar 24. So there's some ties there. There are some ties going on elsewhere, and he has wider interests. And we know he doesn't want to be in F1 until he's 40. He's not going to be like Hamilton or a longso,
Starting point is 00:22:50 where he's hunting down world titles for the next 15, 20 years. Do you think it's reasonable that he would want to go to somewhere like Mercedes, or do you think he's just not speaking in the media? Because we have that biblical photo, almost, of him with about a thousand journalists, with their mics on the table wanting an answer from him. Is it reasonable he might want to go there? Could it happen before the new regulations? Yeah, like I said, I've already said, I think he will hold on for the new regulations.
Starting point is 00:23:19 But I think they're very wary that it's going to be quite engine, not fully, not like we had in 2014, but it's going to be quite engine-dependent. these new regs and the rumor is the Mercedes currently have the best the best motor that is and they're going to forward obviously aren't they that's going to be a new relationship exactly and yeah like say Red Bull are going to have Ford which is a new a new engine manufacturer of well through Rebel Power Train so he will be skeptical of that and he knows what Mercedes did in 2014 got the jump on everyone with the with the engine so it is you know that's clearly at the back of his mind when talking to talking to
Starting point is 00:23:57 speculation that you're talking to Toto Wolf and Co. So I still think he'll hold out, hold out for one year because he's got the luxury of doing it. The only thing that would scupper him is if they, if Russell managed to manage to Wang Geller
Starting point is 00:24:15 a solid two year rather than a one plus one because that might slightly slightly make a trickier for him to get into team post-26 but I think if if he comes running to to to toto in 2020 6 and says please can I come drive you Toto will make way there'll be performance clauses etc or some some way out or they'll just pay him off we see the thing is in F1 these days contracts don't actually mean that much because the drivers just got rid of all the
Starting point is 00:24:45 time and even like Daniel Riccardo who had a very firm contract with McLaren they just paid him off like go away um paid him a lot of money so to be off. Very much so, so much so he's grown all the hair. Can I have some of that money, please, Daniel? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:03 But, yeah, so I, I suspect he will, he'll stick it out for another year. He's just doing some, in a similar way to, like I said,
Starting point is 00:25:13 with Toto, I think he's doing a little bit of initial conversations here for not next year for the year after. Yeah, nothing wrong with, with keeping your options open. I suppose it's,
Starting point is 00:25:22 it's only fair to be aware of what's going on. I think, Sadie is a sensible move should he move. Obviously, in theory, Ferrari might become available if Hamilton doesn't choose to stick on any further than the end of 26 because you're imagining a Leclair and Vastapenchio at Ferrari. Chaos would ensue, I'm sure. McLaren, you know, the options are technically available. I'm sure if he walked into the McLaren Technology Centre and saying,
Starting point is 00:25:48 Zaki Boy, I'd like to drive for the papyr team, please. Maybe they make permissions there. And Aston Martin has always been the name thrown around in the background with the new developments that they've had, with the new wind tunnel, facilities, Adrian Nui. They're building a bit of a mini army of upgrades over there and they're hoping to jump into 2026. It's why got the top dogs. Max Verstaffin really would be the cherry on top of what is looking like quite a tasty cake for Austin Martin. So he's got a lot of options.
Starting point is 00:26:17 He's Max de Stauffin. He's the reigning and current full-time world champion in Formula One. He's got doors opening for him. him, I'm sure. I do think it would be risky to sign the deal before we've seen one year of the new regulations. I think unless the offer is so undeniable, you just, you know, an offer you can't refuse. And we're talking lifetime ambassador of Mercedes, 100 million a year, option to then go into insurance racing when you're done with Formula One. Unless that's the kind of offer you're being proposed to, like almost like Hamilton got a St. Hugh Ferrari, I think you stay. I think he stays for
Starting point is 00:26:51 the 2026 season sees how the regulations pan out. Maybe Mercedes might have a great engine, but if they're porpoising all over the place, if the car can't go down a straight line about breaking their drivers back, like Paul Hamilton almost enjoyed a couple of years ago, is it worth it? Is he really gaining? So it's very interesting to see.
Starting point is 00:27:07 I think nothing changes this season. I think you're right. I think the conversation goes to summer break next season, and that's when it will really start to heat up. It'll be interesting. That's what you think as well, down in the comments. Let's know what your thoughts are.

We only accept scrubs into the league at this point. top point scorer for the Silverstone week
Starting point is 00:29:41 was Captain Slow 1 on 309 points brilliant job not so slow with those points scoring after all and then our overall all-time leaders have we had any changes not at the very top
Starting point is 00:29:56 Walling Door Hajjar still stays at the top and they've got a 70 point lead at the top at this point which is pretty sizable in second place we've got a stop what you are doing That's a mover.
Starting point is 00:30:07 They moved up there into second place. And in third, we've got Clueless F1 guy, the irony in that name for being third placing a league of over 2,000 people is pretty great. So well done to you lot. Well done to the top scorers of the week. But how are we doing? Let's start with Ben Hocking, not here for this recording. But I'm sure he'll be risking with Glee as he is up 17 positions, which is great,
Starting point is 00:30:30 considering how high up he was already, now up to P57 with 2,595 points. Up next, another brilliant charge week for Kersky, producer Kirstie. I'm another 18 places now up to 784th in the league with 2,10012 points. Harry, mate, done quite well. Nick Holgerberg, I could kiss your son. Well, you, I would like, we'll get the content for that, so please do. You're up 160 places, my friend. You're 1,2,246.
Starting point is 00:31:01 If you do that a couple more times, you're in the top 1,000. You've never seen such heights. Get a bloody nosebleed. Crickey, you be careful, there, sunshine. And how am I doing? I am also up 105 places. I'm P1646. Got a bit of a climb to go,
Starting point is 00:31:18 but we've got half a season to turn it around. I'm coming for you. It'll be good times. A little shout out to Beef, who every week puts all this stats in our chat. It's not an easy job. So thank you for your commitment. Thank you to everyone that plays along.
Starting point is 00:31:30 We are absolutely loving a bit of fantasy this season. So our second topic of the day, We're going to be talking about new regulations. Three days of testing, Harry Ead. What are your thoughts on this three full days of testing? One is private, not known to the public audience. And then we're going to be at Circuit to Catalonia. And then that's the end of January.
Starting point is 00:31:52 And then we move it to Feb. And we've got two separate tests that are going to be in Bahrain during the mid part of February. What are your thoughts on this? We have very similar stuff in 2022. I don't like it. three days, sorry, three separate tests in my view is too much. I know they're doing this because it's a new regulation,
Starting point is 00:32:17 doesn't smack of confidence about these regs. But yeah, the fact that they get this much testing itself, I think is I'm not a massive fan. And the fact that the first one is, they're not going to call it a test, are they? They're going to call it some ridiculous because it's not televised and it'll be shakedown rubbish. But, yeah, the fact that...
Starting point is 00:32:42 Yeah, the quote here, the quote here says, the first will be a five-day private test at Circuit to Barcelona and Catalonia to give teams the chance to learn more about the new regulations without the world watching. Why? What, that's stupid. We want to watch. Why are you denying? I want to watch you crash and burn.
Starting point is 00:33:02 I, yeah, that, that, but that, itself, I think it speaks to how worried some of these teams are about, because they've, they've lobbied for this private test to happen. I think it speaks to how worried they are about how these cars are going to perform when they roll out of the garage in early next year. Also, January in Barcelona, quite chilly. That's going to be really chilly. We've had Skow there before, haven't we? It has still, they've got a big icy. So I'm surprised they decided to do the private test there. I know they did do that in 2022, but I don't I think it was as early as Jan, albeit the end of January.
Starting point is 00:33:38 But yeah, overall, not a massive fan. I think the other two tests, fine. But bear in mind this year, we just had three days of testing. That was it. I know we're at the end of a regulation. But, yeah, I would have been okay if they'd had two, given that these are new regulations. But three different tests or two tests and a private test,
Starting point is 00:34:01 shaped out, embarrassed to be in the world, whatever we're going to call that. Yeah, it's too much in my view. So a bit of a shame and just a bit of an anti-climax to when these are brand new cars and we're just not really going to see them. So that sucks. Yeah, you know what, F1, big nah to this. Put your cars on the table. I want three days of testing and you're going to roll out at Albert Park.
Starting point is 00:34:28 I miss the day. We've done a lot of our historic reviews. on Patreon. And I miss the days where reliability had that shock factor. It had the, oh gosh, ex-person is retiring from near the front of the race. Or because of ex-person retiring, there's a shock result and they've jumped up the table. If you're that good, if you've got that many millions to spend on that technological change, you've got all these facilities and all these very, very clever people who are far smarter
Starting point is 00:34:54 than I could ever possibly be. I think three days of full-blown testing is more than enough to get a Formula One car working. I would, you know, Audi are taking over a team. It's not like they're finding it a brand new challenge. And then Cadillac are turning up. Their engine is being given to them by someone else. They haven't got their new engine coming in. So that's not a change that they need to overcome drastically. I genuinely think that three days would be fine. Three days around Bahrain, televised. You need to let us watch you possibly crash and burn. But equally, you might rise like a phoenix from the ashes. You might end up having a gnaf test, sorting
Starting point is 00:35:31 out and being the surprise of the season. And I do think we're losing some of the jeopardy. I think this is a lot of practice running, a lot of trialing going on, five days behind closed doors. It's a bit gutting for us as viewers that all of the drama potentially, which can make the F-on season so exciting, we're just never, ever going to hear about it, or never can see it. You might hear some murmurings on the likes of autosport or Sky Sports or something like that.
Starting point is 00:35:55 But we're not going to see it. We're not going to be a part of it. And I think that's really important. It's part of the new regulations to understand. how this is going to affect the season and what's changing, how new drivers might be doing. So I'm really disappointed that we've got this much testing. And I don't think it really changed the season too much by having a negative way,
Starting point is 00:36:16 positive way, by having the three days, three tests in 2022. I think the teams will be fine without it. I'm not sure that these cars in this modern era will have rocked up on the first day of those new regulations, if they only had three days of testing. they won't have all combusted. They won't have all blown up because of it. And I got on with it. They've got been point scorers and there wouldn't have been point scorers.
Starting point is 00:36:36 And I just think it's a little bit of a wheezzling out of it a little bit. I think it's too scared to turn up and actually just do a season proper like we used to. So yeah, and it's a little bit frustrating. A separate change in calendar talk that's happening, Harry, is that as of Lejean, the Baku Grand Prix, is going to be run on a Saturday, much like Vegas, but during the daytime. This is due to the fact that remembrance of the moment. staying Azerbaijan and taking a place on their scheduled Sunday race day. And so we'll be getting a Saturday race day, Friday qualifying, testing on Thursday,
Starting point is 00:37:08 and the media day will take place on Wednesday. What are your thoughts on this shift? It's quite unprecedented for Formula One to have a daytime race on a Saturday. Can't believe they got Media Day on a Wednesday. It's ruined it for me. That's it. That's the final straw. Yeah, it's an unusual one.
Starting point is 00:37:25 We did see it, I think, last year. in Saudi, potentially, and maybe Bahrain as well, but it is unusual to have a race on a Saturday, and obviously they were, they are some night races anyway, but yeah, it certainly mixes things up,
Starting point is 00:37:42 gives us a free Sunday, don't know what we're going to do with ourselves, but, we'll still be a recording, we'll just see power rankings a day early. I'm like, I'm going to throw the order well out. But yeah, so,
Starting point is 00:37:54 yeah, unusual to see it's, I totally understand the move. It's unusual. for a formal one to do it and they only tend to do it for things like, you know, like this national days or religious, religious reasons. So, yeah, I can't imagine they really, really wanted to move it to a Saturday and have qualifying on a Friday, which is, you know, still the working week in most places and a bit more inaccessible. So not ideal for, not ideal for F1, but makes it, makes it a bit different. I like a Saturday race from what I remember last year.
Starting point is 00:38:28 it gives us Sunday I can recall well yeah just race is done go to the pub and bish bash posh it's very strong of the day W thank you
Starting point is 00:38:37 a slice of fried gold yeah yeah yeah yeah I think I think this is okay I've seen some complaints on the likes of social in comments
Starting point is 00:38:46 and go out and touch some you grow up you're a bunch of losers this is fine this is fine I think it would be a real problem if Baku next year was part of
Starting point is 00:38:58 a double or triple header. We had a race previously. You know, we're seeing it with Vegas going to Qatar. You know, that gives them the extra day, but that change is so massive geographically that they really struggle with the time zones and the transition and moving the equipment from one place to another.
Starting point is 00:39:13 But next year, the calendar, I think has. Yeah, Spain will be on the Madrid, the Madrid, the Madrid, folks, will be on September the 11th to 13th weekend. And then we actually do have a two-week break until Baku, Azerbaijan. So whilst it might be a bit weird, and remember to put in your calendar,
Starting point is 00:39:28 because I can guarantee some of you will rock up to that weekend thinking, ah, good, ready for the race on Sunday, and you'd have missed it. I think this is okay, and it's nice to see Formula One being so flexible, so open-minded with allowing these nations to have their special days or religious holidays. We've moved for Eid as well, haven't we, previously at the start of the season with the Middle East Nations. We've, you know, what you eat, the religious Eid, you're the non-religious Eid. That's how they call me.
Starting point is 00:39:54 I don't know how many people have just offended by calling it. than gone religious aid. Sorry, good, good, good. We're moving on from Canada chat, which everyone will have to be able to, because Mohammed Begisoleum is back in the news, folks. Come on.
Starting point is 00:40:31 It's been a little while since we've spoken about MBS and the race for the FIA presidency. It's hossing up, folks, because we've lost a candidate. Harry, we've lost Carlos Sykes, Jr. Lots of the world. He's still very much fine. but he's not...
Starting point is 00:40:46 Junior's gone. Oh gosh. Senior, folks, his father. He's also still here, but he's not running for presidency. First thoughts, how do you feel about Carlos Sykes,
Starting point is 00:40:57 senior, not running for the presidency? You think he would have made a good choice thinking of a good fight, real loss to the race? I think he would have done, but clearly the fact that he's withdrawn is that he didn't get any real support
Starting point is 00:41:10 that could have meant a sustainable campaign, which is a bit of a shame. but yeah I'm sad because I think he would have been a good a good voice of reason the only thing you could question is the fact that his son is currently an active Formula One driver maybe a bit of bias there but yeah I think overall I think he would have been a sensible choice so a shame on that one
Starting point is 00:41:31 that we aren't going to have him in the race and and clearly like I say the fact that he withdrew quite as quickly as he as he did smacks at the fact that he didn't really get any support However, when one door closes, another door opens, and we have a new challenger. Well, a new, choose your fighter. New character has arrived. And that is, Tim Mayer has stepped into the ring. Now, you may remember, we discussed Tim Mayer on the podcast last November-ish,
Starting point is 00:42:00 because he was removed as a race steward by Mohammed Beng Sulean. Let me read a bit of an article to you now about what's been going on with Tim Mayer, because he was also the representative of the US Grand Prix, and how they were represented in the FIA and the calendar and things that might go along in those businesses. So launching his campaign, Mayor said, it's called FIA forward because it's time for new energy, new focus, and renewed integrity at the heart of our foundation.
Starting point is 00:42:28 As you know, Mayor was here for 15 years in November. He had been sacked and moved forward around the USGP. When asked if his candidature was born out of revenge against Mohammed Beng Suli, and you see where the story's going now, it's really spicing up. Mayor insisted, it really isn't. He's asking me to step down as a Formula One steward presenting me with an opportunity to reflect on the values of the FIA. What do we want this organisation to be? This time has brought into focus my view that we really need to have a professional organisation, one that values our volunteers and members clubs, is looking for growth,
Starting point is 00:43:05 particularly for the underserved countries. I've always been passionate about the FIA and what happened last year increased that passion rather than diminished it. So this is an interesting turn of events. We've kind of got, it feels like a David versus Goliath instance here, where he's turned up to fight the big man on campus. Does he have a chance, Harry? I'd say yes. He's got great, you know, in a comparison to Colossin Senior,
Starting point is 00:43:37 he's got experience, fast experience within the FIA here. that certainly will help him. I also I love the idea that he got sacked in November and then just sat there for a few months reflecting the values of the FIA. Puzzling. Just sat in a chair.
Starting point is 00:43:55 Like this. But, yeah, I think he does stand a chance. There's another article that I've found of him which says that he needs to end Ben Silliam's reign of terror which
Starting point is 00:44:11 No revenge. He doesn't know what revenge. No, no, not at all, but his reign of terror must end. A reign of terror. That is such a good, oh, wow. Yeah, I know we're not,
Starting point is 00:44:24 I know we're not a fan of Mohammed Ben Sillian, but I think Reign of Terror might be a bit hyperbolic. It might be too much. Is he that terrifying? Anyway, but seriously, he says about Rain and Terror,
Starting point is 00:44:37 but he also says about decentralising the power that they have, FIA seem to have got, which I think is a fair, is a fair statement. I think he has some good points. And I think he should get some backing from those that are disaffected within the FIA. We've spoken about this before, like Dave Richards, etc. I sense he'll get some support there. I, that it's quite, it's an interesting one because I haven't been sitting
Starting point is 00:45:07 him seems to garner more support within the FIA. He also, it's quite. polarising. I think he annoys a lot of people, as we've seen, us included. But I also think he garner quite a lot of support within the FAA more than we perhaps think or even think is deemed worthy. So it's a tricky one. But I think he stands more of a chance here than Carlos Sine Sr. did. Cardo Sine Senior is a big name, yes, but actual experience within the FAA is a bit, it's a bit different. So Tim Mayer certainly brings that element and he's been a steward, etc. He's got a lot of experience and knowledge to bring. So yeah, I'm hopeful this one lasts a bit longer
Starting point is 00:45:50 than Carlos Lain Senior, but I think he genuinely could. I think he's got a better standing to launch this campaign off despite reign of terror exaggerations. I reckon that should be his campaign tax rates. I think that's what he should go with. And I think he should get like a dragon with Ben Suleim's face on it. I think he should go the whole hog. Do it. Commit. to it. You said it. Commit to it, Tim. I agree with him. I think that Tim Mayer has a real chance here, and I think his American background will stand to benefit him, especially the way that he has represented these US tracks within Formula One, because I think a longer host countries who do currently hosting F1 race or want to hosting F1 race will see how loyal and how well he represented these racetracks
Starting point is 00:46:32 and go, well, if that's how he represents race tracks, he cares about our benefits. And of course, as a longer nations who get a vote in the FIA voting system that want to be a part of the current F1 calendar that maybe I'm not on it at the moment and could potentially work something out with someone who's maybe a little bit more open-minded in a different way, I shall say politically, over Mohammed Beng Suleim.
Starting point is 00:46:54 He has a great experience. 15 years as a steward shows you that he is well-trusted by a lot of organisations. The drivers will likely respect his opinion and he knows the rules and regulations inside and out. I do think that North America as a continent will back him quite heavily. But you're right. I think Ben Silliam has got a surprisingly loyal group around him,
Starting point is 00:47:17 along the nations that have seen, whilst he's made some controversial comments and some controversial actions, he has fathered a lot of growth under the FIA. He is brought in some regulations that whilst maybe what everyone agrees with has seen a lot of profit come into the system and, let's face it, business people, they like profit, they like money. And it's hard to argue against cold, hard cash when it's flowing your way. So there is a real chance that whilst he doesn't get along too well with F1 and Liberty,
Starting point is 00:47:49 there's a real chance that Bencilium could actually still end up being in power. One of the methods that Bencilium is employing to remain in said power, in said seat, is by continuing to push this V8 concept, bringing the V8 back. Harry, is it going to ring you over? is it going to bring your vote into play with a V8 engine? Now, a man can't just dangle a V8 in front of me like a carrot. I'm not an idiot. We have, I think we're all in favour of less complicated engines,
Starting point is 00:48:19 louder engines using sustainable fuels. If we're going to do that, I think we all miss it. But having a VAT engine is like trying to slap a Band-Aid on that, you know, that meme of the water tank, just like slapping it on like, this would be fine. Yeah. There are so many other problems within the FAA, you can't just try and win people over by saying V8. It doesn't work like that.
Starting point is 00:48:42 So whilst I am, yes, I'm in favour of that as an idea. It doesn't mean that I think he should be the one staying on because I think there are other people who will also argue for the same thing in Formula 1. So it's a nice try, Ben, mate, but you've not tricked me this time. Yeah, he's not the only person that thinks a simplified system is better. at how incredible endurance races has become of the last few races since we've brought in Hypercar as a development. And yet that is
Starting point is 00:49:12 technically brought in by the FIA. But he, Benzir seems almost to neglect the other formulas, the other areas of racing that the FIA actually govern over. He's very Formula One focus. You see him turn up to every single race. He's there desperately trying to shake the driver's hand
Starting point is 00:49:29 and they get out of the car and he's kind of bothering them while they're on the scale. That's an heck, by the way. that every time he's trying to get a handshake because grow up, man. Stop it. Oh, I must shake your hand. Why? Why? Leave him alone, man. Your little lech, go away.
Starting point is 00:49:46 Have a day off. Go look at another racing league somewhere else. But, you know, WEC have a real success. You look, I think they've got 11 manufacturers in play at the moment, at Ipa car in their top level. So it's more than what Formula One has. And these are all independent manufacturers. There's no direct customer teams there.
Starting point is 00:50:05 They are all different automotive manufacturers that have come in and running a team. And they simplified from having LMP1 cars down to hypercars. They are a more simple production. So it can work. And I'm sure Tim Mayer, who is a very smart gentleman, would come in and still have a conversation, perhaps, about bringing in V8 engines with sustainable fuels in 2030, shall we say. It's not an idea that it's exclusive only to Mohammed Ben Sillium.
Starting point is 00:50:30 So it's going to be a tight race. I hope that Tim sees it all the way through and they do go toe to turn the elections. I cannot wait to see a giant paper machet dragon with Ben Silliam's head on it. It should be fascinating. And many crazy things to come. We'll make sure we bring you all the news
Starting point is 00:50:46 when that stuff comes in. We'll go to our next break. And afterwards, we've got a brand new game that Harry is going to dabble in. Oh, God. Buckle up, folks. This Giving Tuesday, Cam H is counting on your support. Together, we can forge a better path for mental health.

Starting point is 00:51:56 Shop now at IKEA.ca.ca. Black Friday. IKEA. Bring home to life. Okay, welcome back to our last segment of this bengless podcast. We're getting there, Harry. We're making it soundless. we've got a new game and it's called You're taking the Michael which if you're not British
Starting point is 00:52:28 I suppose is quite a strange phrase It means essentially you're taking the Mickey It's the short version or you're taking the swear whether you get the point Essentially I've dressed up a true or false Under the guise of Michael Schumacher Because you are a lover of Michael Schumacher That's all it is
Starting point is 00:52:44 It's a true or false about Michael Schumacher And I'm sure you would admit You're a Michael Schumacher fan I am I think if you actually scratched the surface of most of our games, so just true or false, but with a different name. We're built on true or false, we are. Real or no real?
Starting point is 00:52:59 Just true or false. Correct. A long so or a longs, yes. Hajja or Hajna. That might be the worst one. Genuinely. Well, I'm excited for this game. I'm going to get them all.
Starting point is 00:53:14 And also, because you're playing against yourself, I'm just going to go through the list. You haven't got to remember numbers to guess. What a day. Excellent news. It's a wing. I love number one. It's a wing for you.
Starting point is 00:53:24 No, wait. No, that's been taking, I'm afraid. Okay, here we go then. First one. Let's see if how many Harry you can get, play along at home. It's just a bit of a giggle until Ben comes up with a real game that actually matters. Right, here we go.
Starting point is 00:53:38 Michael Schumacher once disguised himself as a cab driver to avoid being recognised while holidaying around Norway. I've absolutely just, I've only just remembered that Sam's written these. So these are going to be ridiculous. Oh, God. Sebastian can is on its way. I'm going to go with
Starting point is 00:53:59 false. Well, you would be wrong. It's true. Michael Schumacher went on holiday, switched roles with a taxi driver in Trondheim so he could drive his family around himself. He then gave the driver a large tip as a thank you for letting
Starting point is 00:54:17 him pilot the car. drove the tax driver with him as well well yeah he wasn't just going to leave him curbside that's funny i just thought you could call this michael schumachia or michael schumachna let's see that's that's that's where this podcast falls down in a hole so we can't keep doing that i thought taking the michael was clever no it is to be fair because when you get one's wrong you could go nah you're taking the michael all right i'll do that next time i get it wrong and won it or if you believe it's false or a joke you can say many ways ways, many ways.
Starting point is 00:54:50 Play at home. Say it out to the radio. Next one. During his Ferrari years, Schumacher insisted on having a goat around the paddock named Turbo in the Tim Garage for good luck. No. No. He didn't have a goat.
Starting point is 00:55:06 It might have Schumacher seven times when champions in, bring a goat to the circuit. Come on, man. That one is false. The only goat was Schumacher himself, yes. And it was going to turbo. Come on, Turbo. Come on. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:55:20 Bring that turbo the goat. Good. Okay. So that's one correct, one incorrect so far. Well done. He was so obsessed with fitness, was Michael Schumacher,
Starting point is 00:55:34 that upon his private jet, he instilled and stored a fully functional gym and he would work out every time that he flew on his private jet. Draw off us. Oh.
Starting point is 00:55:46 That's a tricky one. Private jet. that big. Can you put a fully fashion of gym? Depends how big that private shit is, I suppose. If you're seeing a 737. Yeah, that's for... An airbus, say 380. Private Airbus.
Starting point is 00:56:02 Impressive. I'll go for true. It seems like I'm about do that. You would be right, sir. It is true. You're taking the Michael. Goodness, me. Two out of three. Well done. Schumacher hang a tailor gym set up in his jet. He can work out during travel,
Starting point is 00:56:16 a reflection of how far ahead he was in terms of physical preparation for F1. You can tell that I was in a much more saintsful movie when I wrote some of these descriptions because they actually have examples and reasoning behind them. Question number four. Oh, this is a good one.
Starting point is 00:56:30 Michael Schumacher was briefly banned from using public go-kart tracks in Germany because he kept laughing children too aggressively. Lacking them aggressively and ramming them off. Get out of the way, Charles. No, surely not. You're not banning the prodigal son from German go-car tracks, surely.
Starting point is 00:56:52 God. Yeah, it's false. It's false. He did like to spend a longer time on go-car tracks, and if you are a fan of Schumacher, you'll know that he used to raise a case he was suiting him, just so he could get a little bit of practicing here and there, but, you know, he didn't lap young children in a very aggressive man, which is a real shame.
Starting point is 00:57:13 A bit of a change of shoeing here from Michael Schumacher, but he once paid for a new hospital centre in Sarajevo after visiting post-war Bosnia. Wow. He seemed like a generous chap. I'll go for yes. True. Well, yeah, I mean, it'd be awkward if I'd made that one.
Starting point is 00:57:32 Yeah, if he said false, he'd like, no, actually, he's a terrible human. Really besmeesh his name. He visited and went, I'm not paying for that. Go away. Look at you lot, struggling. Bye on my private jet. I'm going to work out. Just like lifting.
Starting point is 00:57:48 Up and iron. Nothing high. Oh, wait. This is true. After visiting Sarajevo and seeing the aftermath of the war, Schumacher donating $1.5 million to fund a special clinic for war victims,
Starting point is 00:58:04 specifically children who are victims of that war. So those lapsed kids. They're having a good time. Yeah. Thanks, Michael. Goodness of me. Good, good. Two more now.
Starting point is 00:58:17 Two more. this is a good one as well. Michael Schumacher loved chocolate battings so much. False. Immediately far. I love a chocolate button. When Schumacher won, he ran up to Tot with his hands out saying,
Starting point is 00:58:33 Shockey buttons, please, Mr. Tot. No. Absolutely not. It's true that I made this up. Yes. Chucky buttons, please, Mr. Tott. That little shit of accent. Yeah, give me the chalky buttons.
Starting point is 00:58:56 Chucky buttons, please, Mr. Todd. One for you, Michael. Ben's listening to this with his head at his hands. No, it's not. I bet he's gagging to play, taking the Michael. Final one. You've got one wrong, so you've done very well. Michael Schumacher was a big fan of dogs and had many.
Starting point is 00:59:17 At one point, he owned 11. Pomeranians, and he named them all after different racetracks that he had won at. Oh. I know he was a big fan of dogs. I feel like, did he have 11 dogs? Or Pomeranians, to be specific? I'll go with false. False.
Starting point is 00:59:39 He did have lots of dogs, but there's no evidence that he kept a mini F1 grid or fluffy pups that he named after wooden tracks out, unfortunately. Well done. I think you got, I think there were seven there. Well done, me. six out of seven, which is a pretty good record for you. Good job. Come on, Erbergrink.
Starting point is 00:59:55 Walkies. Magnicore. Don't do that. Down Magnicor. Leave Eddie alone. Eddie Irvine's cowering in a corner. Oh, Lord. Well, great game.
Starting point is 01:00:10 And I'll look forward to the return of you taking the Michael. Never. Next time we have to do a show together. That's why it will come back. I can't wait. Good. I'll get a theme tune sort of for next time.
Starting point is 01:00:25 Whilst I thought that game was a sensational success and maybe the best game we've ever played, there's an even better segment. Perhaps the greatest segment in all of podcasting history is the LB Question of the Week. Not as good will I have to set myself up to give this on. So it's weird to set yourself up. for a jingle, isn't it?
Starting point is 01:00:53 It really is. High five, Sam. Good job, Sam. Obviously, we have to congratulate Niko Holgerber once again on his first ever podium in Formula One. Well done, sir. So we did ask the question, how will Niko Holgerberg celebrate his long-awaited podium finish?
Starting point is 01:01:11 Harry, any that jumped out to you immediately as great answers from our wonderful listeners? One here from Mike Bridgford, who sent us many a sausage in his time. he said immediate Rosberg style retirement which I really liked the idea of just like got it I'm out done see you later I've got my phone imagine that
Starting point is 01:01:32 got my P3 a third place and he's gone that's it I'm done now love that Maddie has said he will use the Lego from his trophy to build himself a better car which hey every little helps when you drive like a toaster
Starting point is 01:01:47 so yeah not too shabby he has an idea love that Aaron Dixon says Holkenburgers and chips shall like, well done Hulk and burgers and chips you can tell you're a listener to to this podcast because that is
Starting point is 01:02:02 terrible what's even worse is this one from Nikita who has said sandwich, poo, nap wow quite the trio what an evening sounds like a great afternoon
Starting point is 01:02:16 yeah string bastardry says by watching Shrek 2, which I can understand. I will watch Shrek 2 after Shrek, I get only called it. I would watch Shrek 2 after almost any moment of my life. Yeah. Michael Wood says that he will tattoo on his bottom. If he does, I'd like to announce it, please.
Starting point is 01:02:40 I think it's only fair. There's a lot of just Hulk emojis going on in the comments, which we absolutely love. But this one, Rosie has said here, by buying green toasters for every single team member. I would like a grin toaster from Holgerberg. I feel like it's almost fitting that we would take home a toaster and honour it in our home, like a shrine.
Starting point is 01:03:02 Yeah, I think that's, that is fair. Coop's chair just said, make a baby, maybe? Oh, sure. Oh, I'm not sure we should start predicting what Holgerberg does in his spare time in that manor, maybe. build a bigger trophy was said by Matthew I assume with other bits of Lego
Starting point is 01:03:22 that he can get as a set I'm sure off of there because I make Lego friend for them these days you see the breakboards I got a Lego yeah I think that's a permanent feature now because I think they're out there in Austria too which I quite like it's quite cool it's a very clever marketing technique
Starting point is 01:03:34 really funny if they crashed into them and they like exploded lots of Lego pieces can imagine? Yeah like really comic explosion like it's a video game VSC Lego on track it's everywhere guys The skewers trying to rebuild the brakeboard
Starting point is 01:03:48 On the side of the racetrack Mostly harmless I'm not reading that out You're a wrong one Okay, I have to find that later Oh no, I've just seen it No, that ain't getting on the show Um
Starting point is 01:04:03 Chris has said split a gammon Right, this is a person Just trying to get any reference From the podcast in Split a gammon with Otmar's nine kids, of course Why would that be a relevant thing? You're just saying references there, Chris, but I respect it. Could one gallon feed, I guess, 11 people if you were to give it to you, Hulk, Otmar, and the nine children?
Starting point is 01:04:27 Harry, you would know, tell us. It sounds like you gammoners, to be honest. How long as a piece of string is the same as how big as a piece of gammon? Very, very similar. Is it really? Is it really? Okay. That's what they say. Sure.
Starting point is 01:04:40 Here's another one, again, just trying to sneak in a little, they'll be reference, but I do admire it. Alex is said by renting a roller skating rink and taking the team out for a Barry Mangelo themed skating night. Why? Why I don't know, but also Copacabanga could play for our straight and I wouldn't be, I wouldn't be mad. Okay.
Starting point is 01:05:00 Some of you lot, by the way, Ruggins. I just put another one. My hidden section on Instagram, a lot of references to balls, and I'm not reading any of them out. And that's where I leave it. K-Mag has been violated. Honestly, poor boy. Well, maybe not. I don't know. But anyway. I might leave, I might have to call it there actually
Starting point is 01:05:16 because that's just, you naughty step for you, comment section. All of you, get your mind at the gutter. Yeah, Robbins. Right. Any last ones or are you done?
Starting point is 01:05:29 I'm done. I'm done. Okay, good. We're done. Folks, that does mean we've made it. You've made it. We've made it. We're here.
Starting point is 01:05:38 It's the end of the show. Who will have thought it? We've actually got to the end. Yeah, wipe off your brows because Ben will be back at the weekend for another non-race weekend-related episode where we'll talk about more news, more great topics. I'm sure many a great game
Starting point is 01:05:52 with a proper jingle to come with it as well. Thank you for listening. Thanks for joining us. Make sure you check out our Patreon. If you want to hear more content that includes the three of us, then there's plenty on there as well. It doesn't cost a lot,
Starting point is 01:06:03 and it massively helps out the show and you can cancel it after a month if it's just not working for you. Harry, anything you want to add to the end of this show? Starting point is 01:06:23 Yep, exactly. Good stuff. Right, thanks for listening, folks. In the meantime, I'll be Samuel Sage. And I have been Mohamed Ben Sidium's Raid of Terror. I remember. Keep breaking late. Cast is part of the Sports Social Podcast Network.
