Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the Level Up Podcast. I'm your host, Paul Alex. I went from being a cop to an eight-figure entrepreneur that helps average people like you and me make money every single day. I created this podcast to help you get motivated and to crush your goals. Let's win together.
Starting point is 00:00:16 Remember, I have your six. Get ready to level up right now. All right, guys, so today we're diving into a topic that's close to my heart and pivotal to my success. Forcing yourself to do things that you don't want to do. Working harder than everyone else, it sounds intense, right? That's because it is. Success isn't handed to us. We need to reach out and grab it with both hands.
Starting point is 00:00:40 And sometimes that means pushing ourselves harder than we ever thought possible. When I transitioned from being a detective to an entrepreneur, I had to adopt a whole new level of discipline. In law enforcement, especially on the tough streets of Oakland, the demands were high. But in the world of business, I realized to stand out. I had to be willing to do what others wouldn't. Work harder, work longer, and keep pushing when others took a break. Now, let's break this down how you can start to work harder than everyone else. First, it begins with setting your day up for success. Wake up early, guys.
Starting point is 00:01:13 I'm telling you. And when you wake up early, you feel powerful. I start my day out at 5 a.m. every single day, even Saturday and Sundays. Those quiet morning hours, that's when I plan my day. I set my goals, and I get a head start while my competitors are still sleeping. Next, you need to prioritize your task. Not all work is created equal. Focus on what will drive results, the needle movers. When I was building my companies, I realized that not every task deserved my attention.
Starting point is 00:01:43 Learn to delegate the small stuff. Spend your energy in what truly makes you move the needle. Strategy, growth, networking, and learning, guys. Another key aspect, outlast your competition. There was a time when I worked 100 hours a week, not because I loved being at the office or working at the street, but because every extra hour I spent working was an extra hour spent outpacing my competition. Remember, when you're resting, someone else is working to take your crown. But here's something crucial. Working harder doesn't mean burning out. It means working smarter.
Starting point is 00:02:20 It means being relentless in your pursuit, but also taking care of your mind and body. Force yourself to take breaks when needed. Force yourself to recharge. It's about sustainable hard work. That's the kind of effort that leads to long-term success. Now, I want to challenge every single one of you that's listening right now. This week, pick one area where you can push yourself to work harder. Maybe it's getting an hour up earlier. Maybe it's refining a skill that can elevate your career or perhaps finally start that project that you've been postponing. Whatever it is, commit to it. Force yourself to step out of your comfort zone. And remember, this journey isn't just about hitting goals. It's about setting an example, about being the kind of person
Starting point is 00:03:06 who inspires others to strive for more. That's the ultimate reward. Time to level up. Remember, I always have your six.
