Welcome to the Level Up Podcast.
I'm your host, Paul Alex.
I went from being a cop to an eight-figure entrepreneur
that helps average people like you and me
make money every single day.
I created this podcast to help you get motivated
and to crush your goals.
Let's win together.
Remember, I have your six.
Get ready to level up right now.
I've been an entrepreneur since the age of 18 years old,
but in my mid-20s, I had self-limiting
beliefs. The reason why is because of the people around my environment, the partner that I had a
personal relationship with, and then certain individuals in my family. And for many of you
that are hearing this right now, you could probably relate. Okay. So let's go ahead and,
and listen to this story. Now, when I was going ahead and actually started with the nightclub
promotions back when I was 18 to about 24 guys, I was pretty successful in actually the nightclub
industry. I was able to generate anywhere between 5,000 to $30,000 per night that I would host an
event. I would probably host about two to three
events a month. With that being said, guys, at that age, that is phenomenal numbers. I still had
a part time job working in retail. And then finally, I decided to go into corporate America.
While I was in corporate America, I had a lot of co-workers who were a lot older than me. They
already had families.
They were already pretty successful in life. And they told me, they're like,
hey man, when are you going to let that whole nightclub thing go? Here's one thing I regret.
I regret actually listening to folks that talked me out of experiences that I could have taken advantage of. And the reason why I tell you that, I'm going to transition to another story. Back when I was a cop, I made the founder of Rolling
Loud, you know, that festival that a lot of hip hop artists play and all that jazz. And I remember
he had walked in with his girlfriend to a K-pop event the day before the Rolling Loud event was
going to play in Oakland.
And I remember I was like, hey, man, quick question.
You know, you got a grill, you got these chains and all that jazz.
And, you know, people in Oakland don't typically wear like, you know, all that stuff unless
they have massive security with them.
He's like, oh, yeah, man, actually pretty cool guy.
But he goes, I was like, hey, tell me, how did you actually start like Rolling Loud?
Pretty impressive story.
He goes and says, well, I was a Nyko promoter in Miami and I started throwing this event called Rolling Loud once a month.
And somebody from Live Nation, which is a major corporation, went to one of the parties.
He was trying to figure out how I was able to get thousands of people there and then eventually made me an offer to buy me out, to buy my event out.
And I'm still the founder, but I get a percentage now of the proceeds.
And guys, if you guys don't know what rolling out is, ask your kids.
It's a massive festival that they usually host for two to three days in almost every major metropolitan city.
And they make multi-millions of dollars with every single festival every single year.
And that got me thinking like in perspective, like, wow, this kid, literally 21 years old,
already a multi-millionaire.
And it's just because he kept going on his vision, what he thought was going to make
him ultra successful.
And for me, I'm not, I don't have any regrets in life, guys.
I've gone through so many different life experiences that I'm actually blessed to say that I've
had three different lives, right?
Corporate America, law enforcement, now full-time entrepreneurship.
But what I can say, what if I didn't listen to those coworkers when I was in my full-time
corporate America job?
They were comfortable.
They loved making six figures.
They thought, hey, this is it.
I'm living life, right?
I'm living the dream.
But it wasn't my dream.
Essentially, I was just listening to the people around me.
And for a certain amount of time, okay, I was just like, dude, is this the right path?
I'm not sure.
But what I can tell you, if you're looking for the right paths, okay, and let's say you're interested in real estate. Let's say you're interested in sales. Let's say you're interested
in digital marketing. Let's say you're interested in solar. Let's say you're interested in anything,
the beauty industry, right? Because I've met a ton of people that have different niches.
It's amazing. Go ahead and actually get advice from someone who
is ultra successful in that niche or industry that you're in. They're going to be able to tell
you the truth to see if that's the true path you want to take because they can talk from actual
experience. Just like I'm talking about experience right now, guys. I always tell people this.
I am able to go ahead and actually give so much advice to so many people because I come
from different backgrounds.
And at the end of the day, I wouldn't be the person that I am today if I didn't go through
all of that.
So I hope this helps, guys.
Take care.
