Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the Level Up Podcast. I'm your host, Paul Alex. I went from being a cop to an eight-figure entrepreneur that helps average people like you and me make money every single day. I created this podcast to help you get motivated and to crush your goals. Let's win together.
Starting point is 00:00:16 Remember, I have your six. Get ready to level up right now. Today, we're discussing the choice between going to college or starting work at 18. Guys, when I was 18, I didn't know what I wanted to do. But here are my experiences in corporate America and police work that paved my path to becoming a millionaire. So let's go ahead and dive in. At 18, I was faced with a significant decision to go to college or jump straight into the workforce.
Starting point is 00:00:42 Both paths have their merits, but your choice should align with your goals and personal circumstances. For me, the journey was unconventional yet profoundly educational. I started in corporate America, gaining invaluable experience in sales and management. This environment taught me critical skills like communication, negotiation, and critical thinking.
Starting point is 00:01:04 Corporate America provided me a structured setting where I was able to learn the ropes of business operations and develop a professional network. It's a great foundation if you're looking to understand the inner workings of the business world. But after several years, I actually got bored. So I transitioned to law enforcement. As a cop, I developed resilience, problem solving, and the skills to think on my feet. The challenges and unpredictability of police work honed in on my decision making skills. And it actually taught me the importance of discipline and dedication. These traits are actually indispensable in any entrepreneurship venture, guys.
Starting point is 00:01:36 So combining these experiences, I discovered my entrepreneurial spirit. The skills acquired in corporate America actually helped me navigate the business side of things. While my time as a cop instilled in a level of toughness and being able to adapt to the environment is crucial for any entrepreneur, self-education actually played a significant role in bridging the gaps and propelling me forward. For young individuals like yourself that are watching right now, okay? So weighing in on your options, consider what path can offer to you. College can provide a specialized knowledge and valuable network, but it's not the only route to success.
Starting point is 00:02:14 Entering the workforce directly can offer you hands-on experience, financial independence, and a head start in your career compared to your peers that went to college. Regardless of the path you choose, continuous learning and adapting is key here, guys. My journey from corporate America to law enforcement and eventually to entrepreneurship shows you that there is varied experiences that can contribute to your success. If it wasn't for all the experiences that I went through in corporate America and in law enforcement, I wouldn't be where I'm at today, guys. So each role taught me something unique, valuable, and it contributed to my growth. And eventually, I became financially free and became a multimillionaire, the bloodline breaker to my family, guys. And it can happen
Starting point is 00:02:57 to you too. So in conclusion, whether you're choosing college or work to go ahead and focus on gaining diverse experiences, building a robust skill set, or maintaining a growth mindset, your journey is unique. Every step that you take can bring you closer to your goals. So you got to remember, success is not defined by a single path, but by the lessons learned and the determination to keep moving forward.
