Local news is in decline across Canada, and this is bad news for all of us.
With less local news, noise, rumors, and misinformation fill the void,
and it gets harder to separate truth from fiction.
That's why CBC News is putting more journalists in more places across Canada,
reporting on the ground from where you live,
telling the stories that matter to all of us,
because local news is big news.
Choose news, not noise.
CBC News.

What's up, everyone?
Welcome back to the Level Up podcast.
I'm Paul Alex.
And today we are talking about a major mistake that instantly kills your conversion.
using overly salesy language.
Because let's be real.
If your prospect feels like they are being pitched
by a late night infomercial,
they are going to hang up the phone.
Let's break down how to command authority
by simply talking like a normal human being.
First, realize that complex jargon
does not make you look smart.
It makes the client feel confused.
Too many people try to aggressively pitch their services
using heavy corporate terminology.
It does not work.
If you are selling a service,
use beginner-friendly language.
Talk about a credit card machine business instead of using confusing industry acronyms.
Whether you're writing a marketing caption or closing a deal, clarity beats cleverness every single time.
If you try to sound too sophisticated, you kill the trust.
Second, education is the new closing technique.
People do not buy because you pressured them.
They buy because you clearly explained how you are going to solve their exact problem.
So instead of treating the conversation like a battle to win, treat it like a consultation.
Make the client feel completely understood and fully educated.
Lastly, authenticity lowers the defenses.
When you drop the aggressive sales tactics and just have a calm, logical conversation,
the prospect relaxes.
Transparent pricing, simple explanations, and undeniable expertise
create a zero friction environment.
When you stop acting like a salesman, they start treating you like an advisor.
Bottom line, the hardest closing tactic in the world is just telling the simple,
truth. Drop the jargon. Explain the value clearly and watch your conversions rise. Because when you do,
you will build better client relationships than ever. Thanks for tuning into the level up podcast.
