Welcome to the Level Up Podcast.
I'm your host, Paul Alex.
I went from being a cop to an eight-figure entrepreneur
that helps average people like you and me
make money every single day.
I created this podcast to help you get motivated
and to crush your goals.
Let's win together.
Remember, I have your six.
Get ready to level up right now.
Why waiting for the perfect opportunity
could cost you the opportunity itself?
Drawing from both my law enforcement experience and my entrepreneurial experience, I'll share
why timely action is essential in your life today.
Look, throughout my career in the city of Oakland, California, one lesson has stood
out starkly.
Time waits for no one.
You got to go with urgency.
So in law enforcement, hesitating for even one
second can mean the difference between life or death. It can be the difference between catching
a criminal or letting them get away. So this concept translates directly to the business
world and personal growth. It goes directly into success loves speed. Many of us are conditioned
to wait for the perfect moment before we act.
Maybe you're considering starting a business, investing in a new venture, or even changing
careers. But waiting for that perfect moment when all conditions are ideally often leads to
missed opportunities. The truth is that the perfect moment rarely exists. Opportunities are often fleeting.
They come, go quickly,
influenced by ever-changing marketing conditions,
competition, and innovation.
Look, if you spend too much time deliberating,
you might find the opportunity that has passed,
taken by someone who's already taken the jump.
Like I said, guys, success loves speed.
So take, for example, the early days of my transition
from law enforcement, being a detective to entrepreneur and being an eight figure CEO.
I saw a gap in the market with a new type of service within the merchant services industry
and the ATM industry. And then finally, the digital consulting industry. Instead of waiting
to gather every possible piece of information or for the perfect time financially, I just took the leap.
I said, fuck it.
It was daunting, but the timely decision was crucial to getting ahead of my competitors and establishing my foothold several years ago.
So how can you avoid analysis paralysis of waiting for the perfect opportunity?
First, you got to set a timeline for your decision making,
giving yourself enough time to do the necessary research
and planning, but also set a firm date to take action.
I like to call these hard deadlines.
This prevents the open and postponing of your goals.
Next, you gotta understand and manage the risk.
Not every risk is worth taking,
but no action is risk-free either.
You got to take calculated risk.
You got to assess the potential downsides of both action and inaction.
So often the risk of doing nothing is greater in the long run than the risk associated with taking a calculated leap.
Look, and you got to embrace the mindset.
I always talk about this, the mindset of being adaptable.
Look, successful entrepreneurs and professionals
pivot quickly. I pivot every single time. You got to be solution driven. So they make the best
decisions with the information available and adjust to the course as they give more data and
experience. This proactive approach is often more rewarding than waiting to gather all possible
knowledge before making a move. So at the end of the day, imperfect action. And finally, cultivating confidence. Confidence sells your product
and sells you. So confidence in your decision-making abilities, trusting the skills
and knowledge you have developed. Look, confidence doesn't mean you won't make mistakes. Rather,
it means you believe in the ability to handle whatever comes your way. So you got to have
self-confidence in yourself that you're going to be a successful business owner.
Remember, in many cases, the biggest risk isn't taking a chance.
It's taking no action at all.
Opportunities don't last forever, and waiting too long might mean missing out completely.
Let's level up.
Remember, I always have your six.
