Welcome to the Level Up Podcast.
I'm your host, Paul Alex.
I went from being a cop to an eight-figure entrepreneur
that helps average people like you and me
make money every single day.
I created this podcast to help you get motivated
and to crush your goals.
Let's win together.
Remember, I have your six.
Get ready to level up right now.
Okay, guys, so on this episode,
let's talk about your why
and how it can actually make you rich.
Now, when I first started in entrepreneurship, and this is as early as 18, as soon as I
graduated out of high school, guys, most of you guys may not know that I was actually a nightclub
promoter. No, I wasn't the guy passing out the flyers outside or putting it on cars back in the
day, guys. And we're talking about like 2007,
2008. I was more of the guy behind the scenes. I was booking the venues. I was talking to
the nightclub owners, the venue owners, or the halls. And I was actually creating the flyers.
I was creating the promotion. I was booking the artists. I was booking the DJs and doing all the
logistical fulfillment when it comes to nightclubs and
promotions.
And then I would hire my friends, my friends to go and actually pass out the flyers.
They'll get commissions depending on how many people they get through the nightclub that
night.
But what it comes down to it, in the very beginning, when I was 18, I just wanted to
be rich because I just wanted to have nice things.
And for many of you, depending on what age or what time in your life, you may have a different
reason to why you want to build wealth, why you want to become rich, why you want to be the first
millionaire in your family. And my why changed through the times that I was 18, now up to 36, guys.
And I feel like in my 30s, it just keeps changing and changing and changing.
But one of the biggest assets that I can actually tell you guys from personal experience is
that if you have a strong why, your why is going to carry you through your entrepreneurship journey when it gets hard,
when it sucks, when you don't want to do it.
Because why?
It's going to give you such an important reason to continue and be consistent and to stay
disciplined day in and day out, no matter what you have to do for your business, guys.
And I always tell people this, entrepreneurship to me,
it's way harder than it was
working as a detective in law enforcement
for five years
in one of the most dangerous cities in America, guys.
And I'm telling you,
I used to do hundreds and hundreds of cases,
okay, every single month.
And I'm telling you something, like I used to work 80 to 100
hours, but once you learn law and once you learn procedures and once you learn how things go in
police work, entrepreneurship, it's like night and day, okay? You don't know what you're going
to deal with. There might be a situation where you have to fire somebody
from your company, right? You may have to go and train a new person. You may have to go and hire
multiple people. You may have to go and think of creative ideas for your marketing, or you may have
to jump on the calls and actually talk to clients. You may have to hire customer complaints. I mean,
the list goes on and on and on. And I'm going to tell you something. I mean, as much as what you guys see on social media, you know, people driving the Lambos,
people seeing the multimillion dollar houses, seeing the vacations and all that jazz,
that's only a very small percentage of entrepreneurship. And, you know, I have to
showcase it because it's part of my marketing guys. It's part of my businesses, right? I currently have three businesses right now. And what I can tell you is that social media doesn't
show you about 95% of the work that sucks. And it sucks. It's very similar to what I used to do in
law enforcement where, you know, you would go into some situations where it looks like a movie, but that's literally only like 3% of police work.
The 97% of police work was just writing reports.
That's why I actually became really good as a writer.
And I used to do all my copywriting now in my marketing.
And I'm actually like the CMO for majority of my companies instead of like the CEO.
But that's what I'm good at. But anyways, having your why is going to help you keep building generational wealth for you
and your family. And my biggest why, okay, because I've had several is my family. It was to help my
family is to give back to my parents, to retire my parents, to give the people that I love absolutely everything that they desire
and need in life. And that's what I like to call my why. So I want you to think about your why.
That's the key takeaway for this episode, guys. I hope you guys enjoyed this episode. I'll catch
you on the next one. Remember, I always have your six. Make sure to share this episode with your
