Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the Level Up Podcast. I'm your host, Paul Alex. I went from being a cop to an eight-figure entrepreneur that helps average people like you and me make money every single day. I created this podcast to help you get motivated and to crush your goals. Let's win together.
Starting point is 00:00:16 Remember, I have your six. Get ready to level up right now. Today, we're diving into a fundamental truth that every ambitious person that I know needs to embrace. Great things happen over time, not overnight. This is a crucial lesson for anyone striving for long-term success, whether in business, personal development, or any area of your life. Now, let's talk about transparency. Social media has fucked up people's
Starting point is 00:00:47 minds, especially in 2024. It's easy to forget that most worthwhile achievements require time, persistence, and a lot of hard work. We see the end results online, Successful businesses, mastered skills, transformative personal changes, and it can seem like these accomplishments happen quickly or effortlessly. But behind every overnight success is usually a story filled with trials, failures, and gradual progression. So let's talk about why the journey is as important as the destination. When we focus only on the immediate results, we miss out on the learning that comes from the process. Every challenge you face and overcome, every mistake you learn from adds to your depth of experience and makes you success more sustainable. Consider the story of any great entrepreneur innovator. My own journey
Starting point is 00:01:48 from law enforcement to creating a multi-million dollar business, business is, wasn't a sudden leap guys. It actually involved over seven years of grinding, learning, adapting, and overcoming countless obstacles. The growth happened little by little every day, and it compounded over time. I like to call this the snowball effect. So how can you cultivate the patience to see your efforts bear fruit over time? First, you gotta set up realistic expectations every year. You gotta understand that real growth actually takes time.
Starting point is 00:02:27 There's no instant gratification here, guys. So whether you're starting a new business, learning a new skill, or working on personal improvement, you got to set goals that allow for gradual progression. Next, you got to celebrate small victories along the way. Recognizing and appreciating the minor milestones not only keeps you motivated, but also helps you shift your focus from whatever you haven't achieved yet to what you've already accomplished. So at the end of the day, I always tell people, look, for every new skill that you learn for every step that you take. Make sure you guys actually set milestones and small wins before you get to your big win. The reason why it's going to keep you motivated and it's
Starting point is 00:03:14 more attainable for you. And remember, being consistent is key. You got to commit to taking imperfect action every single day, no matter how small, no matter how big. These actions build over time, leading to major achievements. The combo effect of daily habits, whether it's making 10 sales calls a day or starting in a new language for an hour, or even just reading for 30 minutes, can be astonishing. Lastly, you got to embrace resilience. I always talk about this. The path to great achievements is rarely smooth. There will be setbacks and days where progression seems non-existent. Being resilient, the ability to bounce back and keep going despite challenges is what ultimately leads to success. Remember that great things aren't created overnight.
Starting point is 00:04:13 They are the result of prolonged effort, resilience, and learning from the journey. You got to embrace the process. You got to keep pushing forward and trust that your efforts will pay off in time. So I'm here to encourage you to persevere, be patient, and keep your eyes on the long-term goals. Success is not a sprint. It's a marathon. So keep striving, keep learning, and remember, great things are coming your way one step at a time. Let's level up. Remember, I always have your six.
