Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the Level Up Podcast. I'm your host, Paul Alex. I went from being a cop to an eight-figure entrepreneur that helps average people like you and me make money every single day. I created this podcast to help you get motivated and to crush your goals. Let's win together.
Starting point is 00:00:16 Remember, I have your six. Get ready to level up right now. Guys, now let's talk about your mindset and actually being able to make the jump. And what am I talking about here? I'm actually talking about becoming an entrepreneur. You're probably working a nine to five right now. You're probably a first responder.
Starting point is 00:00:35 You're probably in corporate America. You're probably doing something that you really do not see yourself doing for the longevity of the rest of your life or until your retirement, right? Well, to go ahead into my background, guys, I was seven years in law enforcement. Towards the last two years, I finally came to realize that number one, money isn't everything. And number two, I was really looking for more time freedom. But since I was working 80 to 100 hour work weeks, I had to find a way to make residual or passive income in order to become financially free. So that's when I actually
Starting point is 00:01:09 started investing into such a very simple business, just like automated teller machines, which essentially made me financially free, then reduce my workload from 80 hours to about average of 40 hours a week. And then I was able to go ahead and focus on actually going into the world of digital marketing. Now, in digital marketing is so broad, but I always tell people this, you have to focus specifically on one goal. So when you're looking to make the jump from your nine to five to the world of entrepreneurship, you have to go into a mindset shift is exactly like when I was in police academy, I didn't know that it was going to be such a paramilitary type of gig. Okay. And
Starting point is 00:01:53 for me, I never got used to having supervisors or my, uh, you could say my command staff, just yelling at the troops going like, Hey guys, you guys are going to do this. Are you going to do this? Right. I would come from corporate America. I come from communicating guys and I had to adapt. So that's one of the key needle movers here. When you have a mind shift going from a nine to five to entrepreneurship type of role is that you need to be able to adapt. You need to be able to be resilient on actually facing adversity and roadblocks because it's going to adapt. You need to be able to be resilient on actually facing adversity and roadblocks because
Starting point is 00:02:27 it's going to happen. It happens every single day. A lot of people say that entrepreneurship is one of the hardest things you can ever do in life. And I am here to actually tell you that that's the truth, guys. It's actually 10 times more stressful than being a detective in one of the most dangerous cities in America. OK, but it's not that you're physically in danger. It's not that you're physically doing hard labor. No, it's all a mental game, guys. And if you guys get what I'm saying, your mind has to be prepared to handle all the
Starting point is 00:03:01 mental stress that comes with entrepreneurship. And this is why I always tell people, hey, make the jump, go ahead and find out for yourself. Because at the end of the day, for majority of us, we all handle stress differently, right? I fortunately was in an environment such as law enforcement and the city that I was in working, I was able to handle huge amount of stress. So because I took all those personal lessons of being in law enforcement, being in corporate America, being in a management role, talking to people, being able to think on my feet, I was able to excel within a few amount of years in entrepreneurship. So right now you're working
Starting point is 00:03:40 at a very stressful job, a high level job where you're talking to a lot of folks. You're a great communicator. You know how to manage people, but you think you need to get paid more. Guys, you need to make the jump. You didn't make the jump and actually shift your mind into becoming an entrepreneur. I hope this helps guys. I'll catch you on the next one.
