Welcome to the Level Up Podcast.
I'm your host, Paul Alex.
I went from being a cop to an eight-figure entrepreneur
that helps average people like you and me
make money every single day.
I created this podcast to help you get motivated
and to crush your goals.
Let's win together.
Remember, I have your six.
Get ready to level up right now.
Guys, it's been a shitty week.
Life throws curve balls and sometimes they hit hard.
Just recently, let me tell you a story about my 15 year old dog Cookie.
He was actually diagnosed with cancer last week.
It's news that could easily break anyone's spirit.
Yet, in these moments that I find a crucial choice point. Do I let myself spiral or do I find the strength I knew I never had?
This experience has sucked for me but it also taught me something vital about
dealing with depression adversely. Staying motivated isn't just about pushing
through the pain, it's about finding meaning and purpose in the struggle.
So here's the truth, when faced with depression or any form of deep emotional pain, our goals
don't disappear, but instead they become beacons of hope.
Points on the horizon to strive towards, and every step we take towards them, no matter
how small, is a step away from darkness. So this is a
podcast just for you. How do you stay motivated when everything feels
overwhelming? First it's essential to recognize your feelings. I had a hard
time actually recognizing my feelings throughout my 20s guys and it wasn't
until I got into my early 30s where I actually started doing a lot of self reflecting
and actually really started thinking about
how I feel as a man.
You have to acknowledge your feelings without judgment.
It's okay guys, trust me, this is coming from me.
It's okay to feel sad.
It's okay to grief.
And as the saying goes, you have to feel it to heal it.
Once you've acknowledged these feelings set small manageable goals each day. One
day at a time guys. These shouldn't be any goals they should be more meaningful
to you aligned with your bigger vision of what you are trying to accomplish.
For me, continued to work on my businesses and actually spending quality time caring
for cookie were acts of resilience.
Each small victory in these areas provided a sense of accomplishment.
Remember, staying motivated doesn't mean you ignore your pain.
Instead, you channel your energy towards actions
that affirm life.
You focus on what can be controlled
and find gratitude in that.
During this tough time with Cookie,
I found and missed gratitude in the years of companionship
and love that I shared with him.
Over 15 years, guys.
This gratitude doesn't erase the pain,
but it adds perspective that is crucial for healing.
Let's talk about support, like reaching out to friends, family, or even professionals, guys.
I've done it all. Talk to my friends about this, talk to my family about this.
I've even gotten professional help throughout my years, you know?
Coming through from law enforcement, saying a lot of things in my life, going through a lot, we all need to help.
Sharing your burden isn't a sign of weakness.
It's actually an act of strength.
It's a recognition that you're human
and that you don't have to face this alone.
And finally, use this time to reflect
on what truly matters to you.
Depression can dim your life's light, but your goals, your passions,
they can actually help reignite that light.
Every day, take a moment to remind yourself why you started,
why you're still here.
What are you fighting for?
And what is your why?
It's going to push you.
It's going gonna encourage you
to get up every day and either hustle or stay motivated to accomplish your goals
so as I close today's episode guys remember this in the midst of winter I
found there's within me an invisible summer No matter how harsh the winter feels, your invisible summer awaits.
So stay motivated, stay focused and use each challenge, not just as a battle, but as a
building block for your future. It's time to level up. Thanks for listening up to the
