Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the Level Up Podcast. I'm your host, Paul Alex. I went from being a cop to an eight-figure entrepreneur that helps average people like you and me make money every single day. I created this podcast to help you get motivated and to crush your goals. Let's win together.
Starting point is 00:00:16 Remember, I have your six. Get ready to level up right now. How many of you guys are overthinkers? How many of you guys get stuck on analysis paralysis? Well, let me share a story from my past, guys. When I was 18 years old, I started in the nightclub industry. Man, I remember the very first time I went to my first nightclub, I was in awe, guys. I mean, just imagine, if you weren't 21, you weren't allowed to go into any bars, any nightclubs during that time. And I'm an old school millennial.
Starting point is 00:00:48 OK, we're talking about back in 2007, 2008, 2009. And guys, that was the prime years of the nightclub industry. OK, you guys remember Night in the Roxbury when that movie came out? Yeah, it was a funny ass movie. But let's get back to the story. With that being said, I was just like, damn, dude, like these these guys, they're my age and they're throwing these events and they're making a ton of cash. And, you know, when you're young, you're like, whoa, like how they generate this money. You know, at that time I was working retail. I was like basically a younger Al Bundy selling women's shoes, selling women's shoes for commission. And I thought I did pretty well at that time i was working retail i was like basically a younger al bundy selling
Starting point is 00:01:25 women's shoes selling women's shoes for commission and i thought i did pretty well at that time you know had my car i was able to pay rent for my parents um give them rent you know to stay with them and all that jazz but when when i went ahead and i actually just executed um i actually asked one of my best friends during that time, I was just like, hey, man, you know, I have this idea. Why don't we start, you know, promoting our own parties instead of attending all these parties? I mean, we're just giving them money. Why not go ahead and be able to throw these parties, get artists, all that stuff. I think I could go ahead and actually get a loan from family and friends. So then we can start throwing these massive nightclubs and I'm giving him
Starting point is 00:02:06 this vision. I'm giving him this vision. And you know, his, his name was Nacho at the time and Nacho was legit. You know, he was, he was one of my best friends.
Starting point is 00:02:15 We used to go out all the time and all that jazz, but he was just like, no bro. Like, you know, like that's cool, but I just, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:02:21 man, I don't have the confidence to do it. I don't think we could pull it off. And I was like, what, I mean, what's stopping you, bro? And he goes, well, to be honest, you know, I don't know, man. I don't have the confidence to do it. I don't think we could pull it off. And I was like, what, I mean, what's stopping you, bro? And he goes, well, to be honest, you know, like I'm not, I'm not good. I was like, yeah, but you could talk to people.
Starting point is 00:02:32 You know how to talk to people. You know how to talk to girls. You know how to bring people. You know, you're a very relatable guy. So I'm trying to pitch him on starting a business guys. And how many of you guys can relate to this? How many of you guys have this great idea, this great vision, and you guys are trying to convince? How many of you guys have this great idea, this great vision
Starting point is 00:02:45 and you guys are trying to convince one of your good friends or a family member, like, let's go all in. But here's the thing. You yourself, you're overthinking this. You yourself are stuck on analysis paralysis because you don't want to do it alone. Well, guys, I'm going to tell you something right now.
Starting point is 00:03:02 Fuck your overthinking, okay. Do not forget these two words. Imperfect action. Okay. Imperfect action took me from the age of 21 to the age of 25 in corporate America, allowed me to make six figures and buy my first condo at the age of 22, 23 years old. Okay. Not only that, but in perfect action. Went against me overthinking when my family was just like, don't be a cop. It's dangerous. Don't be a cop.
Starting point is 00:03:36 You're not going to make it because academy is hard. Don't be a cop. You didn't go to the military. Guys, at the age of 26, I got into the police academy in Oakland, California. 60 out of 1,500 applicants. I wasn't the best in the academy, but I passed. I passed. And I told myself, it's game time.
Starting point is 00:03:57 I threw on that uniform, and since day one, within two years, detective. First out of my academy class. And then from there, award-winning detective. First out of my academy class. And then from there, award-winning detective, accommodations. I was the best of the best. And I can simply say that because I was. From there, guys, limiting beliefs. Do not limit yourself.
Starting point is 00:04:21 I was like, you know what? I'm tired of working 80 to 100 hours. It's time. It's time for me to work for myself because I know I can make it happen. I just have to find the vehicle. And for many of you, many of you have the vehicle, but many of you are stuck on analysis, paralysis, and overthinking because you're not good enough. Guys, if you're listening to this right now, you are good enough. You have to know your worth, guys. You have to know your worth.
Starting point is 00:04:53 The world needs people like you to be leaders. Now, I'm telling you, there's something from an average guy that just believes in himself and is able to lead thousands of people to becoming financially free all across my three companies. But not only that, employ over 60 people that have families
Starting point is 00:05:09 and they're leaders themselves. I've been able to make some of my good friends multimillionaires. But it all started with one idea and executing on these two words, imperfect action. I hope this helps. Remember, I always have your six.
Starting point is 00:05:24 Make sure to share this episode with your family, friends, and anyone you care about. The world's already hard enough in perfect life. And lastly, if you want to continue to level up, learn more about business and life, then make sure to get a copy of my book, From Blue to Digital Gold, The New American Dream, on Amazon or at officialpaulalex.com.
