If you are constantly blaming the economy, the algorithm, or your team for your bad months, you have completely surrendered your power.

Let's break down how to wear the armor of accountability. First, understand that deflection is the ultimate sign of weakness. Too many founders want all the glory when the revenue is up, but immediately point fingers when a launch fails. You cannot have it both ways. If an employee makes a massive mistake,

it is your fault for not training them properly or putting the right safety nets in place. Whether you are leading a small sales pod or a massive corporation, the buck absolutely stops with you. If you play the victim, you kill your leadership. Second, when you take the blame, you take the control. People do not respect a leader who makes excuses. They respect a leader who steps to the front of the room, admits the flaw, and provides the solution. So instead of wasting energy trying to figure out who to punish, waste and waste and

trying to figure out how to fix the system. Make extreme ownership your default response to chaos. Lastly, absolute accountability creates an unshakable culture. When your team sees that you are willing to take the hit for them, their loyalty skyrockets. Transparent communication, relentless problem solving, and zero complaining create a world-class environment. When you own the failures, you earn the right to own the victories.

Bottom line, you cannot steer the ship. if you are pretending someone else is driving. Grab the wheel, take the blame, and fix the problem.
