Local news is in decline across Canada, and this is bad news for all of us.
With less local news, noise, rumors, and misinformation fill the void,
and it gets harder to separate truth from fiction.
That's why CBC News is putting more journalists in more places across Canada,
reporting on the ground from where you live,
telling the stories that matter to all of us,
because local news is big news.
Choose news, not noise.
CBC News.
Welcome to the Level Up podcast.
I'm your host, Paul Alex.
I went from being a cop to an eight-figure entrepreneur that helps average people like you and me make money every single day.
I created this podcast to help you get motivated and to crush your goals.
Let's win together.
Remember, I have your six.
Get ready to level up right now.
What's up, everyone?
Welcome back to the Level Up podcast.
I'm Paul Alex.
And today I am talking about the guilt of out-earning your past.
because let's be real.
When your bank account starts looking completely different
than the people you grew up with,
the imposter syndrome hits incredibly hard.
Let me break down how to accept your new reality
without apologizing for your hustle.
First, understand that financial guilt
is just a form of self-sabotage.
Too many people hit their first massive income milestone
and immediately look for ways to downplay it.
They hide the success so they do not make others uncomfortable.
If you worked 80-hour weeks and took massive risks to get here, you earned the reward,
whether it is a nicer house or financial freedom.
Success is the mathematical result of your effort.
If you feel guilty for winning, you kill your drive to keep going.
Second, you cannot lift anyone up if you stay at the bottom with them.
People do not get inspired by someone who plays small.
They get inspired by someone who breaks the mold.
So instead of hiding your results, let your success be the proof that it is actually possible.
Make your elevated lifestyle a beacon for anyone willing to put in the work.
Lastly, generosity cures the guilt.
When you have an abundance of resources, you finally have the power to create real impact.
Mentoring others, taking care of your family, and building community programs,
create a life of deep purpose.
When you own your wealth, you can deploy it for good.
Bottom line, you did not come this far just to feel bad about arriving.
Enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Lift as you climb and never apologize for execution.
Because when you do, you will inspire more people than ever.
