The Level Up Podcast w/ Paul Alex - The Lonely Side of Leveling Up
Episode Date: May 6, 2026Leveling up sounds exciting until you realize growth can make your old life feel unfamiliar. In this episode of The Level Up Podcast, Paul Alex breaks down one of the hardest parts of becoming better...: the loneliness that comes with elevation. When your standards change, your environment starts to feel different. Your habits shift. Your goals get bigger. Your conversations become more intentional. And sometimes, the people who once understood you no longer align with where you are going. That does not mean you are better than anyone. It means you are growing into a new season. In this episode, you’ll learn: Why outgrowing certain people is a natural part of personal growth How staying attached to the wrong environment can slow your progress Why leadership often feels lonely before it feels rewarding How to stay focused when your next level requires separation Because the truth is, you cannot build a bigger future while staying anchored to the same mindset, habits, and surroundings. Elevation requires distance. And while that distance can feel lonely at first, it also creates space for clarity, discipline, and transformation. The higher you go, the quieter it gets. But eventually, that quiet season attracts the right people. People who match your standards. People who understand your vision. People who are building at the same level. I went from being a cop to an eight-figure entrepreneur that helps average people like you and me make money every single day.
I created this podcast to help you get motivated and to crush your goals.
Let's win together.

What's up, everyone?
Welcome back to the Level Up podcast.
I'm Paul Alex.
And today we are diving into a reality that catches a lot of entrepreneurs off guard.
the isolation of elevation.
Because let's be real, if you are focused on massive growth,
you will inevitably outgrow some of your surroundings.
And if you try to drag everyone with you,
they will slow you down.
Let's break down how to handle the loneliness of leadership
without feeling guilty.
First, understand that separation is a requirement for elevation.
Too many people think losing touch with old friends
means they change for the worse.
It does not.
If you are spending your weekends reading balance sheets and building assets, and they're only talking about happy hour, the alignment is just gone.
Whether it is a childhood friend or a former coworker.
Outgrowing your circle is not a betrayal.
It is a transition.
If you shrink to fit in, you kill your potential.
Second, build a new table instead of squeezing into the old one.
People do not survive the mental pressure of scaling alone.
They survive it by finding peers who are carrying the same weight.
So instead of venting to people who do not understand your stress, seek out the masterminds.
Make your new environment match your new ambition.
Lastly, realize that the isolation is temporary.
When you break through to the next level, you will naturally attract a new tribe of absolute killers.
Shared vision, elite standards, and mutual respect create a brotherhood of high achievers.
When you embrace the quiet season, you prepare for the next chapter.
Bottom line, it gets quiet at the top because the crowd stays at the bottom.
Keep climbing, protect your focus, and build your new circle.
Because when you do, you will lead better than ever.
