Welcome to the Level Up Podcast.
I'm your host, Paul Alex.
I went from being a cop to an eight-figure entrepreneur
that helps average people like you and me
make money every single day.
I created this podcast to help you get motivated
and to crush your goals.
Let's win together.
Remember, I have your six.
Get ready to level up right now.
All right, one sentence I do not want you guys to forget. And this is the key takeaway here.
Success loves speed. Guys, if you guys know me in person, or have you guys seen any of my content
across the board, you guys see that I talk with purpose, intent. I actually go ahead and anything
that I do, it's with urgency. Why? Because I want to get it done.
I know myself to a T where I know if I don't go to the gym first thing in the morning,
it's not going to get done.
It's not that I'm lazy.
It's just that I'm wired like that.
I've been wired to follow a routine.
The reason why people with routines are highly successful individuals is because they know they have
to get it done without thinking. The more that we have to think about doing a task,
the less likely we're going to do it because we're going to end up talking ourselves out of it. It's
just human nature. No one's special and can say, well, I got to go and put in 18 hours of work,
you know, by Friday on my business. Otherwise, guess what? It's not going
to launch. And what usually ends up happening is as humans, we end up procrastinating. And I've
learned this the hard way throughout my 20s. And now in my 30s, I have learned that routine is
everything. If you're not following a routine every single day, guys,
I highly recommend that you guys get a whiteboard.
A whiteboard with an erasable marker.
And every day before you go to sleep,
just mark your five hard deadline items
that you have to do the very next day.
If you don't accomplish those five items the very next day,
that means that you haven't done
what you need to do in your life.
Now, the reason why I'm such a believer in this is because when I started my first business,
one of my simple businesses, I had to be very disciplined when it came to actually structuring
my week. I was still working 80 to a hundred hours. I would take the weekends to go ahead
and prospect and talk to leads and then close deals.
On top of that, I had to find time during the week to go do machine installations for my automated
teller machines. Within 18 months, I was able to become financially free from that business,
but I didn't stop there. Now I reduced the overtime that I was working in law enforcement,
and I was able to go ahead and focus and self-educate
myself in what I like to call digital marketing. Within digital marketing, I was only good on two
things, which was ATMs, automated teller machines, and then law enforcement. At that time, the whole
protest, the BLM thing was happening with the cops. So I was just like, let me put that in the
back burner, right? I can teach people how to become cops later on in life. So I focus on ATMs, bought a program,
invested my first 10K after reading a book in digital marketing. Within a few months, guys,
I was making $3,000 a month from the online space, offering my own ATM program, then $6,000 a month.
Then I decided to invest another $15,000 into a different program and mentor. And then guess what?
$30,000 a month. And then
finally $120,000 a month. Then I decided to get my first digital marketing mentor one-on-one.
And then I was able to hire employees. And the first year, just to summarize this,
almost $2 million in revenue. I sold my house in the best neighborhood in San Francisco Bay Area
because I wanted to change my environment. I left my job in law enforcement, transitioned to San Diego, and right there, I built a new routine.
It comes back to time management and being productive. You guys can all be busy. And I'm
not saying what you're doing is wrong, but you really have to analyze if your busy work is moving the needle. Because let's say in two to three months,
if let's say you're running a program, either online or you have a business and you're saying,
okay, all these items that I'm doing every day, that I'm delegating new tasks, creating new
strategies, is it really raising my revenue? And if it's not, more than likely you're focusing on the wrong thing.
This is why I've been highly successful in the past six years is because I focus on two
things, client acquisition and sales.
That's it.
All the other stuff like tracking numbers and all that, that's great.
You could delegate that to people that actually like doing boring work like that.
But if you're a needle mover, you're a visionary like me,
you're gonna focus on marketing and just sales, guys.
Hope this helps with time management and productivity
and I'll catch you on the next one.
