Welcome to the Level Up Podcast.
I'm your host, Paul Alex.
I went from being a cop to an eight-figure entrepreneur
that helps average people like you and me
make money every single day.
I created this podcast to help you get motivated
and to crush your goals.
Let's win together.
Remember, I have your six.
Get ready to level up right now.
Hey everyone, and welcome back to the Level Up Podcast.
I'm your host, Paul Alex,
and today we're gonna be talking about something that a lot of people like to avoid.
Being accountable guys, it's a crisis.
Now, this might not be the easiest topic to hear.
It's one of the most important ones if you want to level up in your life and in business.
And the truth is, no one's coming to save you.
Not your boss, not your family, not even your mentors.
It's up to you to take control and be accountable of your own success.
So let's go ahead and dive in.
So we live in a world where it's easy to blame others
for our problems.
If something goes wrong, people would like to point fingers
to the economy, to the government, to their circumstances.
But here's the deal, blame is the enemy of progression.
When you shift your responsibility onto something else
or someone else, you give away your power to change your situation.
The accountability crisis is real.
I've seen it up close.
So many people want success, but they aren't willing to take ownership of the hard work
and discipline that requires.
And let me tell you, accountability is just about doing what you say you'll do.
It's about owning the entire process of your life, your failures, your struggles, and ultimately
your victories.
So, let me get personal here.
When I left law enforcement to build my businesses, I had to take full accountability for my success.
I didn't have any backup plan.
There wasn't some safety net waiting to catch me if I failed.
I had to go all in, and there were moments where I felt like giving up.
I'm just being real here, especially when people doubted me and I said I wouldn't make
it.
But I had to remind myself, no one was coming to save me. It was on me to make my dream a reality. That same mindset is
what pushed me to build multiple companies, generating millions in revenue and helping
thousands of people create residual income. So here's the kicker. Understanding that no one's
coming to save you is actually empowering. When you realize it's all on you, you're no longer a
victim of your circumstances. You're in the driver's seat. You control the actions, the actions that
lead to results. Think about this. If you knew someone that was going to bail you out every time
that things got tough, would you really push yourself to grow? Probably not. Growth comes from
struggle. It comes from making hard decisions and owning the consequences.
So let's be honest here.
There's something incredibly satisfying
about knowing you built your success from the ground up
with your own two hands.
No one handed you this shit.
No one build the business for you.
And that makes the victory even sweeter.
All right.
Now, I'm not here to just talk about the problem.
Let's get into some solutions.
How do you hold yourself accountable
when it feels like the world is against you?
So here are three steps you can start using today.
Set clear non-negotiable goals.
You can't hold yourself accountable
if you don't know what you're working towards.
Write down your goals and make them non-negotiable.
For example, when I started my first business,
I set clear financial targets and I stuck to them.
No excuses. When at 18 months, I made it happen, okay?
Financially free. Number two, track your progression.
Accountability is all about knowing where you stand,
whether it's in your business, your health, or your personal life.
You got to track your progression. Are you putting in the work every day?
Are you hitting your benchmarks?
It's like looking in the mirror.
You can't fix what you don't see.
Number three, you gotta own your failures.
When things go wrong, don't blame the external.
Instead ask, what could I have done differently?
I've had plenty of failures along the way, but I learned from each one because I own
them.
Accountability
isn't about being perfect, it's about learning and adapting. So let me give you a quick example.
Back when I launched merchant automation, things weren't as smooth from the get-go guys. We had
issues with scaling, systems weren't set up right and I lost money in the early stages,
that's just what it is. But instead of blaming the market or my team, I asked myself, what could I do better?
What processes do I need to fix? That mindset shift is what helped me scale the business to
over $10 million in revenue in a short time. All right. So let's now talk about self-reliance.
Self-reliance means taking full ownership of your life and business. Knowing that you are the one who will make things happen.
You need to develop a mindset where you trust yourself
to find solutions, no matter the circumstances.
I didn't always have the answers when I transitioned
from law enforcement to entrepreneurship.
It was a whole new world for me.
I didn't know how to run a business.
I made the decision to learn.
I picked up books, hired mentors,
and more importantly, I took fucking action. learn, I picked up books, hired mentors, and more importantly,
I took fucking action.
Every step I took was a step closer to the life I wanted to build.
When you trust yourself, you don't wait for others to open the doors for you.
You fucking kick that fucking door in and you go ahead and get to work.
So as we wrap this up, I want you to remember this shit.
No one is coming to save you.
And that's not a bad thing.
It's actually empowering.
Your success, your happiness, your fulfillment, it all comes down to you.
The moment you take full accountability of your life, that's the moment you gain control.
So stop waiting.
Stop hoping somebody's going to come and rescue you from your situation.
You have everything you need right now to take the first step.
Be accountable, be relentless, and go make it happen.
