Welcome to the Level Up Podcast.
I'm your host, Paul Alex.
I went from being a cop to an eight-figure entrepreneur
that helps average people like you and me
make money every single day.
I created this podcast to help you get motivated
and to crush your goals.
Let's win together.
Remember, I have your six.
Get ready to level up right now.
Hey everyone, and welcome to the Level Up Podcast
with Paul Alex today.
I want to talk about something that might surprise you.
Why hardworking people often fail and what you can do instead to achieve your goals in life.
Now, let me start by saying that hard work is very, very important.
Guys, you guys know I work hard every single day.
I put in countless hours myself from my days in law enforcement as a detective,
working anywhere between 80 to 100 hour work weeks to building my first business that started as a side hustle and eventually
became my full-time gig. But here's the truth, okay? Hard work alone isn't enough. In fact,
many of the hardest working people I know are still struggling to get ahead. But why is that?
Let's think about it. The reason is super, super simple. Simplicity equals success, guys. Hard work without strategy and purpose can keep you stuck in the same place.
So back when I was in law enforcement, I worked harder than most officers, okay? But no matter
how many hours I put in, I wasn't seeing the growth or financial freedom I desired. It wasn't
until I shifted my focus to working smarter, not just harder, that I started to see real progression.
So what should you do instead?
First, you need to have a clear vision of what you want to achieve.
Hard work without direction is just wasted effort.
That's simply what it is.
When I decided to leave law enforcement, I had a clear vision.
I wanted to build a life where I had control over my time and financial freedom. That vision guided every decision I made from starting my first business with ATM together
and ATMs to going and launching my second business with merchant services and then
launching merchantautomation.com.
Next, you need to make high impact activities a priority.
Not all tasks are created equal.
In my early entrepreneurial days, guys, I was guilty
of staying busy rather than just being productive, okay? I'm talking about moving the needle here.
So I spent hours on tasks that didn't move the needle for my businesses whatsoever, making more
revenue for myself and for the business. But once I started focusing on high impact activities like
networking with key people, learning new skills, and closing more deals, everything changed for me. I went from just being busy to making real progression, guys.
Another critical factor is leveraging the power of delegation and automation. You can only do this
so much on your own, guys. It takes a tribe to build a culture and a culture to actually have
a successful business. So as I scaled my businesses, I realized that achieving big goals,
I needed to delegate tasks that didn't require my direct involvement and automate processes
wherever possible. This freed up my time to focus on strategy and growth. You got to surround
yourself with the right people. And I'm going to keep telling this to my faces blue guys.
Success isn't a solo journey. I've always made it a point to seek out mentors, join mastermind
groups and build a team of like-minded individuals who share my vision. These relationships have
been crucial to helping me achieve my goals faster and more efficiently. So if you find
yourself working hard but not seeing the results that you want, it's time to actually shift your
approach, okay? You're a hard worker. You need to come up with a plan. You need to focus on having
a clear vision, making high-pack activities a
priority, leverage delegation and automation, and surround yourself with the right people.
That's the formula for turning hard work into actual real success. Guys, thanks for listening
to the Level Up Podcast with Paul Alex. Remember, it's not just about hard work. It's about working
smart, staying focused on what really matters, and until next time, let's keep leveling up, guys.
