Welcome to the Level Up Podcast.
I'm your host, Paul Alex.
I went from being a cop to an eight-figure entrepreneur
that helps average people like you and me
make money every single day.
I created this podcast to help you get motivated
and to crush your goals.
Let's win together.
Remember, I have your six.
Get ready to level up right now.
Every entrepreneur starts with the what.
What you want to do or what you want to create.
But what's the why?
Why are you doing it?
That's the fuel that keeps the engine running, especially when the road gets tough.
Understanding and embracing your why can propel you through challenges and inspire innovation.
So let me talk about personal experience.
Back when I was in my 20s,
actually back when I was 18 years old,
I was a nightclub promoter while I was going to school
and I had a part-time retail job.
Why was I so propelled to do this?
Well, the reason why is because I was money motivated.
That's all I would think
about. I wanted to create money. I wanted to be rich, but I didn't really have a strong why.
Now, as I went to my mid-twenties, my why completely changed. I started seeing more
that I loved my family. I wanted to help them out in life. As my parents got older, I saw that they
would get tired and they couldn't work as much. So I eventually came up with my why of trying to
retire my parents. I was able to do that by my early 30s. So what is a why? You have to really
think about what is your why. It's your core reason for embarking on being an entrepreneur.
It could be a desire to change the world,
to solve a specific problem,
or perhaps to achieve financial freedom
to support your family just like me.
Whatever it is, your why is deeply personal
and incredibly powerful, guys.
And I'm telling you this from personal experience.
It's what pushes me to wake up every single day.
Without it, I wouldn't be able to do what I do currently.
Now, let's talk about how to identify your why.
It starts with self-reflection.
You gotta have a deep look at yourself in the mirror.
Ask yourself, what drives me?
What am I passionate about?
What change do I want to see in the world?
Take time to dig deep.
This isn't just about surface level goals.
It's about connecting with your values and your vision.
So look, once you identified your why, it's time to integrate it into every aspect of your business.
From your branding and your messaging to the way you interact with clients
and design your products or services.
Your why should be the thread that ties it all together.
But why is this so important?
Because when the obstacles come,
they will come, guys, and trust me,
you're gonna be like, damn, do I still wanna do this?
Your why becomes your anchor. You're gonna be like damn do i still want to do this your why becomes your anchor you're gonna
be unstoppable remember every entrepreneur faces setbacks but if you know why you start in the
first place you'll find the strength to persevere and clarity to navigate through the tough times
so look let me share a personal story. When I was transitioning from law enforcement
to entrepreneurship, my why was very clear. And just like I said in the beginning of the podcast,
it has to do with actually creating opportunities, not just for myself, but for my family. So the
vision that I had of helping my family achieve their dreams kept me focused through countless
challenges. Even when I was dealing with
negative environments, even though I didn't want to do the work, even though I was still working
a nine to five, it motivated me to keep learning, growing, and pushing forward no matter the
obstacle, guys. And here's another key point. Your why is going to evolve just like I told you
earlier. Remember initially when I said when I was 18, I just wanted to make money?
My mid-20s, I saw my final vision and I was like, I want to retire my parents.
And then it came true, guys, because I was going ahead and staying disciplined
and I was persevering against these challenges every single year.
So as you go personally and professionally, as you learn more
about the market that you're in and yourself, your why might shift and that's okay. But what's
important is that you stay connected to it, that you let it guide you and reshape you as needed.
So if you're just starting out right now in whatever business that you want to achieve,
take this advice from me, okay? Spend time defining your why. It's very important. You got to know your why, and you also got to get
your mindset right before you start any business. Write it down. Talk about it. Make it a part of
your daily affirmation. It's very important. Let it be the first thing you think of when you wake
up and the last thing you consider when you make a business decision. And look, as I wrap up the episode for today, remember this, your why is your biggest
motivator. It's more powerful than any business strategy because it speaks to the heart of who
you are and why you do what you do. Keep it at the forefront and let it fuel your journey for success.
