Hello, friends, and welcome back to the Healthier Together podcast. I'm your host, Liz Moody, and I am doing a little bit of a different type of episode for you today. I'm actually doing my very first solo episode and I'm a little bit nervous about it. So please wish me luck and send me all of the good vibes. But I wanted to do a gift guide for all of you. I've been doing gift guides for years and years and years for other publications that I write for, but I've never actually done one for my own publications and my own audience. And it was so fun for.
me to go through and really pick out what I thought were the absolute best wellnessy type
fun products that are out in the world right now. So that's what this is going to be.
I was debating how to do it. I was like, should we do categories like home and travel? And what I landed
on was because this is a healthier together podcast, because we are all about relationships here,
gifts for specific types of people in your life. So I've picked a few sort of categories of people
we have like your work wife and we have, you know, your husband, your mom, your sister,
your bestie, things like that. But use them as sort of general guidance. I understand that some
of you might have wives instead of husbands. I understand that some of you might have
besties that are men or besties that are female. So I've just sort of divided it into fun categories
because I think thinking about things in the context of relationships really make sense for this podcast,
but just use them as loose guidelines. And of course, you can also use this as fun inspiration for
yourself. I definitely look through gift guides to see what I feel like I want for Christmas or
for Hanukkah in any given year. So that, feel free to use this, however you would like.
I will be having a full list of every single product mentioned here on Liz Moody.com.
It'll just be essentially like a list of the products with links, though, so you can go there
to click them. So if you're driving or something like that, do not worry about writing anything down.
Please don't do that because I feel like that'd be really deep.
dangerous and I don't want you to crash your car because you're excited about a product, but I'll be
talking about why I've picked everything and why I really love everything on here. So I want to get
right into it. First of all, I would be remiss. I couldn't pick a category for this. So I'm just going to
go right for the shameless plug off the top. The Healthier Together Cookbook is an awesome,
awesome, awesome holiday present. You can do it with your mom. You can do it with your dad. You can do it
with your long-lost cousin who moved to Tokyo, who you never, ever, ever talk to anymore.
And you want to know what kind of crazy food she can find in the Tokyo supermarket.
You can do it with your partner that you live with or your workwife or anything like that.
So it's a great gift for basically anybody.
It has 100 plus healthy recipes that are designed to sort of remake the times that you would
eat unhealthy together.
So things like takeout or date night or cocktails and breakfasts and.
bar bites and it's all, as you all know, I'm a very trashy eater. And so everything is sort of,
I was raised on like boiled hot dogs and stuffing, stofers, not so yeah, stove top,
stove top, stuffing mix. So everything in there is kind of based on my very childlike palate,
but it's elevated. So I would say it's like healthy sort of elevated versions of all of your
favorite comfort food. So if you would like,
to give that as a gift.
I'm basically, I'm signing book plates.
A book plate is like a sticker that goes in the front of the book and it gives you
essentially a signed copy of the book.
If you're unable to make it to any of my tour stops or anything like that.
So I'm doing those for anybody who wants to leave an Amazon review of the book and just
screenshot the review and send it to Lizat Liz Moody.com.
You can do it even if you didn't buy the book on Amazon.
I'll be doing, I'll write whatever you want on the bookplay.
I'll make it out to whoever you want.
So if you want to buy it as a present and get a bookplate for whoever you're giving it to,
then I am happy to help you out.
I think it's whomever.
If you want to buy it as a present and do a bookplate for whomever you're giving it to,
I'm happy to help you out.
So just leave a review on Amazon, screenshot, send it to Liz at Liz Moody,
and you will have a beautiful sign book for whomever you would like.
All right, let's get into the other presents.
I'm sorry.
I feel really, like, silly about it, but I felt like I had to do the plug.
Okay.
So we're going to start with stock.
stocking stuffers. This is one of my favorite categories. I love stockings. We were one of those families
that made a really big deal out of stockings. And my family was like, it was my stepmom and my dad and
my two half sisters. And I grew up in a home where everybody really didn't like each other
that much. There's like a lot of tension. But Christmas was always one of those times where everybody
really came together. And we all wrote notes to Santa like way too late in our life. And
and we left him out bourbon and my dad would write a note back and be like, thanks for the
bourbon, like more bourbon, less cookies and stuff like that. And it was just always this
really fun time when we came home, came downstairs on Christmas morning and we would all dump our stockings
out on the floor. And it just felt like one of those times my family really all came together. So it's
very special. I love stockings. I think they're just really fun sort of doodad type stuff. So
everything in this category is relatively inexpensive. It's small enough to fitness stacking. So
starting off with the four-sigmatic mushroom elixirs. I, oh, and I should also say,
nothing in this gift guide is sponsored, I just genuinely picked everything that I absolutely
love. So starting off, the four-sigmatic mushroom elixirs, I absolutely love these. I'm obsessed with
them. They come in little packets so you could buy a box of it on their website, and then you can
take the little packets and just put a few packets in each stuffing or in each stocking. And I love
the cortisps one, which I drink instead of any sort of caffeinated beverage in the morning. And I love
the ratio, which is super good for calming you down and just making you feel more stress-free,
which I feel like is very important. There's a helicopter going by because we're in New York City.
I feel like if I tried to pause for helicopters, an episode of this podcast would never come out.
apologies. The rishi is one of my favorites for sort of relieving stress. The racy hot cacao is also
really, really, really delicious. It tastes like hot chocolate, but it's got this sort of mushroom
calming power. And what else do I like? The chaga is great for immunity. So there's a lot of
different types and you can maybe buy like a box of each kind and then put a few different types in
each stocking. I think that could be really fun. They're also sort of fun Secret Santa type gifts,
I think the boxes are maybe like $15 or so, which is awesome.
Okay.
Next at Bombas, socks.
I know you're like socks.
This is the most boring thing ever.
But these socks truly are the best socks I have ever tried on in my life.
They're the no show ankle socks, but they actually stay up, which I feel like most
no show socks don't.
And they come in really fun pattern.
So the ones that I'm going to be linking in this gift guide are like a fun holiday pattern.
and they look sort of like Christmas sweaters, but not the ugly Christmas sweaters,
like cute Christmas sweater.
So they're really cute, really comfortable.
And also they donate a pair of socks for every sock that's purchased.
They're one of the one for one models.
And it's actually a really good one for one model because socks are one of the things that
is most needed in homeless shelters and really hard to come by.
So wonderful company, wonderful cause.
And also truly, they're just like they're very well-made socks.
I used to be the person who bought, you know, like the 20 pack for $3 socks.
And these are so much better.
They're like cute.
They're plush.
They're comfy.
And they actually stamp.
So love those.
Okay.
Next up, we've got a nut butter stirer.
This is designed because of that problem that, like, essentially every single one of
us has run into.
You have your almond butter.
You have your peanut butter.
You have a cashew butter.
And the oil is at the top.
And it's hard as a rock at the bottom.
and you got to stir it up and he slush it everywhere and you ask Zach to do it and then he gets annoyed and
everybody gets tired and the kitchen becomes a mess. So if you have also been there, get a nut butter
stir it essentially screws into the top of the nut butter jar and then your nut butter, it's like a crank
and you stir your nut butter up and it's awesome. Next step, stasher bags. Stasher bags are awesome.
They're essentially silicon bags that you can use to replace all of the Ziploc bags in your life.
They come in super fun colors, really reasonably priced.
like under $10, tons of different size.
They have like every size of Zipok bag would be in.
I use them for everything.
I use them for my leftovers.
I use them to store stuff in my freezer.
I love them.
They're super cute, really fun.
Next in the stocking stuffers,
we have Hugh Kitchen chocolate bars.
These are my favorite healthy chocolate bars.
They're made with actual cacao.
They're made with coconut sugar.
They're not too sweet.
They have amazing flavors.
The orange cashew one,
is truly the best thing I've ever eaten.
And they feel like a little fancy.
I think they're like eight or $9 chocolate bars.
And I feel like it gives that extra touch versus putting a Hershey bar and somebody's
talking or what do they have when we're getting?
Did you ever have those like chocolate oranges where you'd smash it against the fireplace
mantle and it would break into a million.
I love those.
So those are great, do.
But if you want a healthier, sort of like a little bit more elevated version of that,
I think the Hugh Kitchen chocolate bars are awesome.
Also in the food category for stocking stuffers, I got to shout out my skinny-dipped peppermint almonds.
I love them.
They're so good.
Skinny-dipped essentially, it's like chocolate-covered almonds, but they use way less chocolate
than a normal chocolate-covered almonds.
So you're getting way more of the almond, which is the healthy part.
But these peppermint ones are just like insane.
They're a little sweet, a little salty.
They're heavenly.
They are not sponsoring this episode, but they have full disclosure-sponsored other episodes.
So I actually have a code for them.
It is healthier together.
And you get 20% off your order at skinny dip.com.
But peppermint ones are so festive.
I think they're limited edition, like limited time only, which is devastating because I have, I swear to.
I have like 17 bags in my pantry right now because I've become a hoarder because I love them that much.
So that's a great one.
Next up, the Wellida skin food lotion.
It might be Walida.
Wellida.
I don't say a lot of them a writer.
I don't say things out loud.
But the well-ed-a-skinned food lotion, it's a small green container, and it is the most
hydrating lotion on the planet.
It is great for hands.
It's great for cracked elbows.
I use it on my face.
I got a cold when I was in Colorado, and I turned into this whole situation where, like,
my nose was peeling and that area between my lip and my nose was peeling, and I just
slathered it on over my entire face.
and it completely healed my skin.
It feels more almost like a balm and texture than a lotion because it's so, so hydrating.
And I just feel like if I got that in my stocking, I would be so stoked.
Next up, a guasha stone.
If you are not familiar with guasha, it's essentially a traditional Chinese medicine type practice.
And it's a way of doing massage with a little sort of stone.
And that'll be made of court sometimes or jade.
And you can do it on your body, but guasha facials have become more and more common recently.
So essentially, you take this stone and sort of pull it down your cheeks and run it over your forehead.
And it drains limp from your face and it makes you look really, really glowing.
And it's one of those presents that I think people, it feels kind of cool and luxurious, but the stones are maybe $12 or something like that.
And it's a really fun.
It's like a gift that keeps on giving because the person who you give it to can start playing around with adding that to their beauty.
routine and looking up how to do guasha facial. It's very easy, I promise. So I thought that would be a
really fun one. All right. And then next we have a game. I love games. There's a few games that are
going to make appearances on this list because I think they're so fun. But in my Christmas,
Santa would always leave a game for the whole family to play together as sort of one of the stocking
stuffers. And I thought that this game would be a really fun option for that. So it's called
reverse charades. We played it. I had my birthday this year. I really wanted to
I'd been traveling a ton.
I'd been on tour for my book.
And I really wanted to just have a birthday where it felt really casual and fun and like just
very low key.
So I had all my friends come over for a pajama party.
Everybody wore pajamas.
And then we played reverse charades, which it's like normal charades, except for instead
of one person acting everything out and everybody else guessing, everybody's acting the stuff
out.
And then one person is guessing.
So it takes off so much of that pressure to like be up.
they're trying to act out Titanic by yourself while everybody's watching and you're just like,
we both fit on the door.
But you get to do that with somebody else now.
You have a Jack and a Rose, which is amazing.
It's so fun.
We laughed so hard.
It just watching 10 people try to act out a scenario together is hilarious.
It'd be a great game for families, very like PG things to act out.
So I think this would be a ton of fun.
And then the last one, a little less sexy, but a good.
good one nonetheless. Lauren Singer recommended this is one of her all-time, like, top things that
have changed her life on her episode of the Healthy Together podcast, but it is a tongue scraper. And
she gave me one when I went to interview her. And I've been tongue scraping ever since.
And I have to tell you, my breath has never smelled better. I've never felt just like,
it makes you feel really clean and fresh and nice. And it's just a fun little addition to a routine and
be a really fun addition to a stocking. All right. Next.
step is for your mom or the mother figure in your life or your cool aunt or just that person
who maybe has been a really lovely caretaking role in your life and you want to give back to
them. So that's what these presents are for. The first step is the Buffy Comforter. I first learned
about this from my friend Jess Murnan. She got one and she could not stop talking about it.
And I got one and I tried it and I loved it. It's essentially I've looked for a good eco-friendly
comforter for years and years and years and years. And Buffy is far and away the best one. It's made
from eucalyptus. It's chemical-free. It's allergy-free. It actually doesn't build up the sort of
mites and molds in the comforter itself that a lot of comforters do. So a lot of people will have
sleep issues because of those allergen buildups in their comforters. And this
doesn't have that problem. And it's also just really fluffy and lovely and amazing. So I think if you wanted
to give your mom figure a big cozy cloud light comforter to cuddle up in, that is a lovely,
lovely present. Also, I think a soda stream is an amazing present. It's one of those like gadget
gifts that I feel like sometimes older generations won't think to get for themselves. But if you
give it to them and teach them how to use it, they're like, oh my God, this is life changing.
one, you're saving a ton of plastic bottles by not having to go out and buy sparkling water.
But two, it just makes it so easy to sort of make your own sodas that are way healthier.
I don't use the little like flavoring things that the soda stream comes with.
Those aren't great for you, to be honest, but I will use bitters.
I'll do flavored bitters like lavender bitters or orange bitters.
You can find them at any sort of high-end kitchen shop or online.
and I'll take the bitters and do a few drops in the sparkling water that I make in the soda stream.
And then you have lavender soda or orange soda and it tastes so good.
Oh, rose water is also amazing in it.
And rose water is so good for you.
It's got great stress relieving properties.
It has vitamin C in it, which is really good for your skin.
It's been used in ancient cultures for years and years and years, particularly in the Middle East,
for all of its therapeutic properties.
But it also tastes fragrant and gorgeous and beautiful.
So I'll do that in the sparkling water.
with like a pinch of cardamom if I'm feeling fancy. And it just gives you something fun to drink
without having to drink soda, which isn't great for you. So that one I think would be a super
fun gift. Also, the True Botanicals moisture mask. This is such a miracle product. It's true botanicals,
first of all, it's an amazing non-toxic beauty brand, but it's definitely on the priceier side.
So I think that's what puts this into sort of a really lovely gift category. Natural
beauty often tends to be more expensive because it costs money to source ingredients well.
It costs money to get high quality ingredients.
And I think if you can't afford it, it's definitely worth it, both for your impact on the planet
and the impact on your body.
They're doing more and more studies now that show how much our beauty products are being
processed by our body and really affecting our health.
And in fact, if you have something like breast cancer, often one of the first things that
your doctor will do is tell you to go and clear out.
your medicine cabinet and get rid of everything with paraben, get rid of anything that might be
hormone modulating it also. I like to do that preemptive. They're going to tell me to do that if I
get cancer. Why not do that before for my body? So I'm all about clean beauty. As you know, if you
follow me on Instagram, I talk about it over there all the time. But I think True Botanicals is
truly one of the tip-top brands in this moisture mask. It's an overnight mask. You put on a very
thin layer. So I would say it comes in a small container, but that container, but that container,
probably lasts maybe eight months. And you put it all over your skin and you just wake up and your
skin is so, so refreshed. And I know that as we age, our skin tends to get a little duller, a little
drier. So I think something like a moisture mask is such a luxurious, lovely present to give your
mother figure. Next up is an infrared heating pad. I love these heating pads. I've had sort of the
traditional electrical ones and I've had the infrared ones. It's sort of the idea is similar to the
infrared saunas where it's a more penetrating heat in the heating pad. And so you can put it on your
lower back, you can put it on your shoulders, just all of those points that get a little acheier as we
age and it gives a really penetrating heat. And I've found that it really helps me alleviate those
aches and pains that I get way better. Okay, next step is my very favorite yoga clothing brand,
which is Cure Grace. They're a women-owned brand and they support a lot of my favorite women,
and my friend Catherine Butig, who's also been a guest on this podcast, did a collection with them.
That is just amazing.
They celebrate real women and real women's bodies.
And the thing that I'm going to say here is their high, honestly, so much that they do would be a great gift.
But their high-wasted pants are actually high-wasted.
They go above your belly button.
And they really just sort of hold everything in and they make your body feel really good.
and they come in really cool patterns and like types of designs.
I have one with slashes in the legs.
But I think for a mother figure, they have a beautiful, dark, floral pattern that would be
gorgeous.
And it would just, it makes you feel good in your body.
It makes you feel beautiful.
And it makes you want to be active, which I think is one of the best gifts that we can
give anybody that we love.
All right.
Next, we have a book.
Love books.
There's going to be a lot of books in this too because I'm always like, let's get people to
read.
And that is Inheritance by Danny Shapiro.
It's all about Danny's discovery that her dad isn't really her dad.
The father that she thought was her father, her entire life, was not, in fact, her father.
And it brings up a lot of questions about what makes a family and what blood connection is versus, you know, what you've been raised with and what makes us who we are and where is our identity formed.
And I think all those conversations would be really fun to have with a mother figure.
so I think this one would be a fun one for you to read together.
Also, if you wanted to cook with your mom, the Indianish cookbook by Priya Krishna is an amazing.
It's a vegetarian Indian cookbook.
And Priya actually wrote it as a way of documenting all of her mom's recipes.
Her mom is from India, moved to Texas, and she cooks what she calls Indianish food.
So it's food that has, you know, a lot of those bold, delicious Indian.
and spices, but mixed with her life in Texas and the ingredients that she had available at the grocery
store. So she has stuff like non-pita and just things to make things easier for a Tuesday night.
And the whole book, it was written with her mom, with Priya's mom.
Priya's a writer for Bon Appetit in New York Times and all of these amazing publications.
But she wrote the book with her mother. And the whole thing is really a love letter to her mother.
And I love the idea of cooking from this with your mother figure, but then also using it as an opportunity
to ask them about what they cooked growing up and what they love to eat and really is a conversation
starter. I think this one could be a ton of fun. You're listening to the Healthier Together podcast.
You all know that I've been really open with you about my struggles with anxiety. I shared my whole
anxiety story on my Instagram, so definitely head over there if you're like, what? Liz has anxiety,
but basically I was completely agoraphobic for a while and I still struggle with generalized anxiety
disorder. While I think there are a ton of wellness practices that can help with anxiety, I truly
believe in the power of therapy. And not just because both of my parents and both of Zach's parents
are therapists, which is definitely a story for another day. The only problem, it can be super
hard to find a good therapist, and then seeing said therapist can be crazy expensive. That's why I'm so
excited to share BetterHelp with you. BetterHelp is an online professional counseling platform that I've been
using for a few months now. You go on their site and you answer a few questions about the state of
your mental health and what you're looking for and then they match you with a licensed professional
therapist. And if you don't like that therapist, no worries, it's totally free and super easy
to change to a different one. Within 24 hours, you can be messaging that therapist and I have
been so impressed with both the quality and the timeliness of the responses that I've gotten.
Beyond that, you can schedule weekly video or phone sessions. And I have to say, I was skeptical about
this at first. I thought there was no way it could be as helpful as sitting in the room with an
actual therapist. But it really is. I love my therapist so much. And I also love not having to
lose an hour of my day to get all the way to the session and back. With therapy, consistency is so
important. And being able to fit my sessions way more easily into my weekly routine has been a
total game changer. It's also way cheaper than traditional therapy, like less than a third of how
much you would pay here in New York City, which I absolutely love because I do not think that
taking care of your mental health should be a luxury that's only afforded to people with a ton of
money. Plus, they have financial aid, so if you don't feel like you can afford it, definitely send
them an email. They really want to make sure that therapy's available to all people, which they're
doing a pretty good job of because there are already 500,000 people using the service worldwide.
They were kind enough to give me a code so that healthier together listeners can get 10% off of their
first month of service. Just go to betterhelp.com. That's better help, the word help.com
slash healthier together to get the discount. It's really easy to sign up and you can start therapy
right away, which means that you can start feeling better right away. Also, if you are struggling
with mental health issues, I want you to know that you are not alone at all. So many of us are in it
with you and I am in it with you. And if you're feeling lonely or anxious or depressed, know that
you're not weird or damaged and you can still have an amazing, amazing life and know that I am
100% there for you. All right. Let's get back to the episode. Okay, this next one might sound
a little weird. It is a cleaning product, but it is so much more than that. It's the St. Olio
aromatic cleaner and it's got essential oils and castile soap and that's pretty much it. But it
cleans your surface is really, really well, but that's not why it's amazing. It is amazing because they
have the best sense that I have ever smelled. They smell more like fancy room sprays that you would get
at a really nice hotel than they smell like, I don't know, whatever a normal household cleaner is. And
they come in beautiful bottles. You can reuse the bottle. So I keep all my bottles and then I just get
refills of the actual cleaners. And they're amazing. So I think if somebody likes to clean or more if they
need to clean, which we all do. I'm like the least clean person on the planet. It's one of the number
one things that Zach and I fight about, but this makes me want to clean. So you have to clean. This is
the best way to do it. It looks really pretty. So I think it would be a really beautiful gift.
Next, we have my friend Aaron's company. Her name is Sunwoven on Instagram. Maybe you follow her.
She always shares photos of her stunning, stunning how she'll just like have a weekend.
where she's like, oh, I decided to paint a huge yellow triangle in my wall.
And now my house looks even chicer than it did before somehow.
So definitely worth a follow on Instagram.
She's at Sunwoven.
But she does these beautiful wall hangings that are made from yarns and wools and different fabrics.
And they're absolutely stunning.
They come in all sorts of price points because they have little ones and then they have
really large ones.
And I just think they would be such a gorgeous present.
And they're completely custom.
Nobody else will have one like it.
So they're absolutely beautiful sun woven wall hangings.
Another little home thing I think would be really fun.
There's the company called The Citizenry, and they source artisanal goods from different
makers all over the world.
And their stuff is absolutely beautiful.
I have a lumbar pillow from them.
But I think a lumbar pillow is sort of harder to pick for somebody else.
I don't know.
And it's large and bulky.
So I picked out some beautiful indigo cotton napkins from their site that I think would be a
gorgeous, gorgeous gift for your mother figure. I love indigo is usually, it looks sort of like a
dyed blue tie-dye situation and it's absolutely gorgeous. It's kind of trendy right now, but I also
love cloth napkins as a present in general because they make a table look so chic. They make you
feel grown up and fancy and put together, even if you're not. I think a cloth napkin is always
a great go-to. And of course, obviously, it's more environmentally conscious as well. So I love that.
Speaking of environmentally friendly, I think a really fun gift is doing a donation in somebody's name to a cause they believe in.
So whether it's a cause that you know they believe in because they've talked about it and it's a specific charity they've talked about or it's just like you know that your mother figure loves hiking.
And so you're going to get her a donation to the Sierra Club in her name.
I think that's a really thoughtful gift.
And it says, you know, I care about the things that you care about and I want to support the things that you care about.
So I think that's a great gift for a mother figure.
but I also think it's a great gift for anybody on your list.
Okay, let's move on to sister.
I have two half sisters.
They're both six and seven years younger than me, I believe.
So much younger than me, but I love them so much.
It's so fun to see them sort of grow up into real human beings, you know,
instead of just like your annoying younger sisters.
So these are all for that person that you love so much that's in your family.
Sister, it could be for a best friend too.
but these are just sort of fun gifts for people that you love. First step is a bearabee weighted blanket.
These are 100% my favorite weighted blankets on the market. Most weighted blankets have little like pellets or beans in them. And so they make crinkle, crackle noises when you roll around. And I think that's sort of counterproductive to the point of a weighted blanket, which is to help you relax and help you sleep. But the bearable ones don't. They're just tightly woven cotton or velvet. And they just are fabric. That's all.
all they are. So they're made of completely organic materials. They're also, they look so much
sheker than a normal weighted blanket. Normal weighted blankets look like pellet-filled blankets,
which is not cute. But the berry blankets just look sort of like a big knit blanket. They're really
chic. They're really beautiful. I got the velvet mustard yellow one, and I am obsessed with it. It
looks amazing. Also, because it has an open weave, if you're, it doesn't make you really hot when you're
sleeping, which I also think sort of beats the point of a weighted blanket blanket. If you're using it
to sleep better and to relax and then you're like roasting like a little chicken under it, it sort of
beats the point of the whole situation. So I love the open weave. I think they're so chic.
They're so beautiful. They're definitely a little bit splurgy. They're one of the pricier items on this
list. But if you love your sis, I think she's worth it for sure. And I definitely think this is one
if you're looking for a weighted blanket, you should add to your own holiday wish list.
Next, we have a book, Three Women by Lisa Todayo.
If you follow me on Instagram, you've definitely heard me talk about this book.
I think it is an amazing, amazing book.
It's one of the best books I've read recently.
First of all, the actual writing is spectacular.
It's a nonfiction book, but it's written in some of the most lyrical, beautiful fiction prose I've ever read.
It doesn't feel like a nonfiction book where you're like reporting facts.
You really feel like you're inside these three women's heads.
And so it's about three women and essentially the intimate details of their sex lives.
And it sort of paints a portrait of what sex is like in America today.
Obviously not a comprehensive portrait.
It's just three women.
They're all white women, which is, you know, some people have found problematic.
But I think it's just, it's a really in-depth portrait of these three particular women,
these three individual women in their lives.
And it's so intimate and so raw and so real.
it'll give you so much to talk about. So I love the idea of giving it to a sister,
a very close friend, so you guys can read it together and have conversations about sex and
relationships and intimacy and all of those topics that can be a little bit trickier to talk about.
I think this book can be a really great jumping off point into them.
All right. And you guys know I love to travel. So next on the list, I have away luggage.
It's my favorite luggage by far. I have the light pink, the bigger carry-on bag. And then I
have the everywhere bag, which is also in light pink. And honestly, I feel a little silly when I'm
walking through the airport because I'm like all light pink, but I also feel very cute and I like
it. I'm going to lean into it. But they're beautiful bags. They're really well made. They come in all
sorts of fun colors. And they are perfectly sized to go in your overhead bend. I like the bigger
carry-on. I've never run into problems where it didn't fit on a plane or wasn't allowed on a plane.
And it lets you fit a little bit more than the smaller carry-on. So as a general one that anybody,
could get good use out of. I definitely recommend that one. And then the everywhere bag just stacks on top
of the carry on and it's the one that you would kind of put under your seat and put all your in-flight
necessities. And so such a cute gift option if you have a sister who loves to travel. The next one's
really fun. So these are, it's the indie National Park T-shirts. They're t-shirts that are designed
to look like rock and roll band T-shirts, but they're four national parks like Yosemite and Yellowstone
and Glacier. And as a huge national park fan, I'm a huge hiker. I love to spend as much time outdoors
as possible. And I do feel like if I was going to be like a groupie for anything, I would definitely
be a groupie for national parks. So I love these shirts. They're like $22, I believe. And they're just
really, really cute. And so you could get your sister's favorite national park. And I think that
would be a ton of fun. You could maybe even get one that if you've been to one together, I think that
would be such a fun memory to share. All right, next we have a transcendental meditation course. So this could
also be a Vedic meditation course or really any meditation course. But I think this is such a wonderful
experiential present. You could maybe do it together or just do it for your sister. The little bit
splurgy, these courses tend to be expensive. But I also think it's one of those gifts that pay off
throughout your entire life. I did a Vedic meditation course a few years ago and I liked it so much
that I bought one for Zach, and it's completely changed my life.
I now, before that, I'd been trying to get into meditation for over five years,
and I just hadn't been able to make it to stick.
I tried Headspace and the call map, which I think subscriptions to those would be
really cool meditation gifts as well.
But until I actually went to the course, it's a four-session course, and you get to ask all
the instructors or all your questions to the instructors, and then they also give you a
personalized mantra that you repeat while you're meditating to yourself. And that was the thing that
finally made meditation stick for me. So a little bit splurgy, but it's definitely a gift that will
actually change the life of whoever you give it to, which is amazing. Okay, next up is the gift that you
could only give to somebody that you are quite close to, somebody that you can say to, I love you so
much that I care about your poop, which is the coconut cult yogurt. You may have seen this yogurt on
Instagram. It's sort of a cult favorite with a lot of influencers. Like I know shut the kale up.
Jeanette Ogden loves it. She was on an episode of the Healthier Together podcast, actually. So if you
love her, definitely go listen to that. But she's always posting about it. I tried it for a story
that I wrote for a magazine a few years ago. And it was like, I tried the $25 yogurt and it gave me
the best poop of my life. But it really did. It is such good yogurt. And yes, it's like $20 or $25 a jar,
insane and I recognize that, but you don't eat it like, you know, a normal container of yogurt.
You eat it much more like a supplement.
Like you'll take a few spoonfuls a day.
You actually shouldn't do that much more than that, especially at the beginning.
My friend took a jar home with her and she ate the whole thing that night and she had
an explosive stomach situation.
So I would not recommend that.
But they have really fun packaging.
They have really fun flavors.
They have like cookies and cream, which you.
is great. I love the chocolate personally, but I think it's a really fun present to say, I care about you,
I care about your digestive tract, and I care about your poops. And it also, it's, yeah, it's just,
it's a fun. It's a fun one for sure. Next, I think that cooking classes to take together would be really
fun. You can just Google cooking class in your city in New York City. There's some really fun ones that
are taught by immigrants to the city, and they sort of invite you into their Lebanese kitchen or
their Indian kitchen. And it's this amazing thing.
cultural experience in addition to an actual cooking class and those types of cuisine tend to
be what we're less familiar with. So that's called the League of Kitchens if you're in New York City.
But wherever you are, just Google cooking class in your city. And I think as an experiential
present for the two of you to do together, that would be so much fun. Speaking of cooking,
the cookbook that I'd recommend for this category is the half-baked harvest, super simple cookbook.
It's from my friend Tegan. She was also on the podcast. I'm not just intentionally picking people
who've been on the podcast, I promise.
But I also am so picky about my podcast guest that I only have people on that I genuinely
love and genuinely think are super talented, which is why I tend to reference them later because
they're the people that I actually reference in my own life.
But Tegan's new cookbook is called Half Baked Harvest, super simple.
It was on the New York Times bestseller list, which is amazing, super hard to do.
Congratulations, Tegan on that.
But it's all she does these incredible recipes that look beautiful and taste beautiful and
have these really unique twists on what a food could be.
Like instead of cinnamon rolls, it's like a cinnamon roll with a, you know,
orange blossom or cardamom or just like something crazy.
And this is her cookbook where she makes it really simple to do those crazy twists.
So everything has a really short ingredient list.
It can be made.
A lot of it can be made in an instant pot or really quickly on the stove or a one pan deal
in the oven.
And you still get those really elevated flavor profiles.
which is amazing.
So I think it's a great cookbook for somebody who's already like a good either.
I mean, you could do it if you're not a good cook.
But I think it would be especially fun for somebody who's a decent cook and is really looking
for things that are going to push them outside of their box a little bit without
being too hard to do on a normal weeknight.
All right.
The last one we have in the sister section is tickets to see the U.S.
women's soccer team when they play in Houston.
They're playing in some sort of championship in January.
I'm not the world's best sports follower,
but they're playing in a championship in Houston and January,
and I think it would be so fun to go out and support the women's soccer team.
They've made headlines this year for asking for equal pay for their phenomenal work on the field.
And I think you and your sister can rally behind that and, you know, lady boss it up at the game.
I also think just seeing a women's soccer team match in your area or a women's sports match in your area,
so you could Google women's sports match and just have like a,
God,
women are amazing badass as night where you go out and admire powerful women doing powerful things.
I think that would be so fun to do with your sister.
All right.
Switching gears from powerful women doing powerful thing.
Let's get into gifts for your husband,
our presence for a special man fellow in your life.
These are not like super gender specific.
I, again, I didn't,
I don't think that like men.
don't like flowers and women only like, I don't know, what do women stereotypically like,
like cooking and bunnies or something? I think that there's a lot of crossover between the
genders, especially these days, and people just sort of like what they like. So I specifically
thought about my husband, Zach, with this category. And I tried to think of things that he would
really like that I would be excited to give him. The first item in this category was written by my friend
Serena Wolf. And it is the second book in her dude diet series. So the first one is called the
dude diet. And then the second one is called the dude diet dinner time. And it just came out.
She's actually on a crazy tour around the country for it right now. If you want to follow
along on Instagram, it's really fun. She does like hotel tours and her healthy travel tips and
skincare on the road and stuff. So I've been loving following that. But the dude diet dinner time is
essentially recipes that she created while trying to make it easier for her husband to eat healthy,
but still eat all of the foods that he loves.
So it's very much in the vein of healthier together
where it's remade versions of like twists
of your favorite comfort food staples,
very at my alley.
We made the ferrato risotto carbonara.
It's like a ferro carbunaro-carbinar risotto.
And that's on my website,
Lizmoody.com, if you want to try that recipe out
and see if you love it and then you can go buy the book.
But it's all, everything I made out of the book is super, super delicious.
I love it.
Highly recommend it.
The next is a chic backpack. I feel like a backpack is one of those staples that a lot of people will
have and use, but they don't elevate it. And they don't. So it's a great chance to swap out the
traditional thing that they have for something that's going to make them feel special and taken
care of and feel good and pretty every single day. I do think men can feel pretty. And I think
they want to feel pretty. So this backpack I love, it's called the ISM backpack. It's made of leather
and nylon and either has black accents or gold accents, and it has a laptop compartment with
padded sleeves so you can put your laptop in it and carried it around. And it just looks so chic
and so beautiful. And I think it would be an amazing upgrade to anybody who's just sort of using
a normal backpack and wants to feel more professional, more grown up, just nicer in their
day-to-day life as they go about their day-to-day life. Zach has a really old. It's like
completely falling apart, super dirty backpack. So I actually think I'm going to get him this.
ISM backpack for Christmas this year. So hopefully he is not listening.
Experiential gifts in this category, I thought an Airbnb gift card would be really fun.
It kind of says, I want to go have an adventure with you. Maybe you could pick a specific place
that you guys could go together and then you could give them the Airbnb gift card and say, like,
we're going to Cincinnati or we're going to Big Sur or we're going to Cuba or something like that.
I've actually heard the Airbnb's in Cuba are very, very.
cute and nicely decorated. So I think the Airbnb gift card as a promise of a trip or a weekend
adventure that you could have together would be a really fun present, which speaking of a book I picked
for this category is called Lonely Planet MicroTrips. And it's all about really quick sort of weekend
trips that you can take around a bunch of different areas in the U.S. So I think there's so many
times we're like, oh, we want to just go have an adventure, but we don't want to spend a ton of money or a
of time. And I think this book would be really fun to just have on your shelf. You pull it down.
And you're like, we're going to go to this totally random place that we never thought of before.
So I love that. In another sort of upgraded basics category, I have the caraway pots and pan set.
I've been looking for a good, eco-friendly, non-toxic, non-stick pan. I have my cast iron,
which I absolutely love. But I think it's a lot harder to find something that you would want to
scramble an egg in or fry an egg in. And so that's where I found.
on these pots and pans, the Caraway ones. First of all, they're absolutely beautiful. They come in
all sorts of different colors. They come in like a corally one and a navy and a gray and they're all
gorgeous. So check that off. But they also are completely non-toxic. They have a ceramic coating
and they're actually non-stick. So they come in a set and I think that'd be a really fun way to say like
we're going to get in the kitchen together. Maybe it'd be fun to pair with a cookbook. So it's like
we have the tools to do the cooking and then we have the cooking.
cooking itself and you could have a date night every week where you cook together or something like
that. So I think using it as a way to bring more kitchen time into your life and a gift to sort
of jumpstart that would be really, really fun. Next up, I have the St. George Terwar gin,
which is my favorite gin in the entire world and Zach's favorite gin in the entire world. It
smells and taste. It's basically designed to evoke the Northern California nature. So there's this
area that's just north of San Francisco called Marin. And the Merid Headlands are where this forest,
this beautiful redwood forest sort of comes down to meet the ocean and it's covered in fog and it
smells piny and just really green and wooded and delicious with little salty notes from the ocean.
And this gin is meant to capture that. It's one of the most unique and delicious gins I've ever
had in my life. It also comes in a beautiful bottle. So I think this one would be really fun for
somebody who wants to play around with cocktails who wants to, you know, drink a little bit and have
fun in that way, but elevate that experience a little bit for sure. It's so good. Anybody who tries
it will be 100% addicted. All right. Next, we have the Lost Cities game. This is hands down,
the best two-person game in the world that you can buy. And I think having a two-person game on hand
is so nice to avoid, you know, that rut you can get into as a couple where you come home
from work, you're tired, you turn on the TV, you fall asleep in front of the TV, and then you
like start the whole thing over again the next day. And sometimes you'll only even have quality
moments with your partner when you have a concrete plan, sometimes to do something with other
people, like, oh, we have to go out with these friends. So I guess we will not have our phones or
not be watching TV that night. And I think it's really fun to build in those quality moments of
time with your partner on a normal basis, where it doesn't have to be this.
big to do where you're going out to dinner. You're spending a bunch of money at a restaurant. I think it's so
nice to just pour a little glass of wine or some sparkling water and, you know, make a little cheese plate
or something or warm up some leftovers and then sit down at the table and play a game together and be
able to connect over having that quality time instead of just turning on the TV, which I know I've been there.
I'm guilty of it too. It feels so much easier when your brain is just like fried at the end of the long day.
But trust me, after you play a game for like an hour or two and you're laughing.
with your partner and you're having a good time, you're going to feel so much, so much better.
It's just so much more rewarding at the end of the day. So this is a really fun two-person game.
It is not that hard. It's like a numbers game, but it's a card game. It's hard to describe.
You will like it. It's not, I don't like, like, risk or what's the Catan one that everybody's
obsessed with. I don't like games that feel really hard to learn, but I like games that are hard enough
to be engaging. And I think this one falls into that niche perfectly. So Lost City.
is the best two-person game.
You're listening to the Healthier Together podcast.
People are always asking me what supplements I recommend,
so I wanted to walk you guys through a few that have made a real difference in my life.
All of these are from Garden of Life, one of today's sponsors,
and a brand that I've been using for years, long before we started working together.
Their oil of oregano is one of my go-toes for travel.
It's a tincture, and you only need a few drops of it,
but it's incredibly antiviral and antibacterial.
Whenever I start feeling a bit off or sick, I put about eight drops in a glass of water and chug it down.
It tastes super spicy, but it makes me feel better by the next day, whether I felt like I was getting a flu or a cold or a stomach bug or food poisoning.
I use it at home, of course, but it saved me so many times on the road that I never go on a trip without it.
The prebiotic fiber is also huge for me.
A lot of gut issues are caused by not passing waste through your intestines quickly or thoroughly enough.
And beyond that, while we focus so much on probiotics, those good bugs need food in the form of
prebiotics to thrive and populate your stomach so they can have all of their positive effects.
The doctor formulated organic fiber is a super fine powder.
They have an unflavored and an orange.
I like both of them.
And it's made from acacia, orange peel, baobab fruit, apple peel, and organic cranberry fruit.
And that's it.
It dissolves really well in water and it also blends well in smoothies.
And it can make such a difference in your bathroom habits.
It's been so hugely helpful when I travel and I can't eat as well as I do at home.
And also travel makes me like really constipated.
I don't know if that's just me.
But I will also have it three times a week when I'm at home just to provide enough food for the probiotics to keep my gut healthy and happy.
Finally, I love, love, love, the maximum strength turmeric from their My Kind Organics line.
I take this if I'm having any sort of pain issue.
I have like a chronic knee pain on my left knee.
So when that's acting up, I'll add this to my daily routine.
It contains turmeric and ginger that have both been fermented to be super bioavailable.
And as you likely know, turmeric is hugely helpful for inflammation-based issues,
whether it's chronic pain or something autoimmune.
I have a friend who takes these for migraines and they've helped her a ton.
And I have another friend who has endometriosis who's found a lot of relief from her painful periods.
They also have a turmeric gummy that has no added sugar and it basically tastes like heaven.
And I'll keep these around.
But honestly, I love them so much.
They taste so good that it's like a little dangerous.
for me to have them in my cabinet. I have direct links to all of these items and my other Garden of
Life picks in my shop at Liz Moody.com slash shop. And it really helps the podcast if you buy them
through there. It'll take you directly to the lowest price item on Amazon. Again, that's
lizmoody.com slash shop. And if you want any recommendations or have any questions, definitely
hit me up on Instagram at Liz Moody. I would love to help you find the perfect probiotic or herbal
blend for you. Now, let's get back to the episode. Next, we have
his favorite food tour of whatever city that you live in. So if he loves tacos, you plan a day where you
try all of the tacos in the city. And maybe you could like print out some rating cards and make it
really official and fun. I did this with wine. When I was in Napa once, we just spent like three days and
we actually printed out rating cards and tried to, you know, take notes and and figure out which wines we really
liked. We've also done it with, we've done it with tacos because we love tacos. And I just think it's a way to,
it feels thoughtful because you've based it around your partner's favorite food and it feels like
it's really about them. It just makes it so that you can have this really fun day together.
And then at the end of it, you know what the best tacos are, the best burgers or the best donuts are
in your city. So then that can become your spot. And I think that that's a really fun thing as well.
All right. That is it for husband. Hopefully Zach's not listening. So I can still get him some of these
presents. Next step, we have Bestie. So this is design.
with one of my best friends in mind.
But I just wanted to get her really fun stuff
that I thought would add a little jolt of wellness
and excitement and beauty and specialness to her life
because she very much deserves it.
So we will start with one of my favorite beauty products this year.
It's the pharmacy bright on vitamin C mask.
It's a really fun mask because it comes out like a lavender color
and then you massage it into your face and it turns sort of like a mermaid green.
and it's a vitamin C mask, but it also has some fruit acids in it, so it's really exfoliating.
And I think that process of like putting on a mask and hanging out with your best friend
can be one of the most fun types of evenings.
And so giving her the mask and then maybe having like a spa day or a spa night, you could
watch some of the terrible Netflix Christmas movies that are actually deeply amazing.
I'm definitely going to watch the Christmas prints this year.
I'm very excited about it.
So I think that would be a really, really fun night.
The pharmacy bright on vitamins.
mask. If you follow me on Instagram, you have definitely seen me wearing this sweatshirt. It is the
Park Barrett tie-dye sweatshirt. It is so cool. They do them in the most fun colors. I have like a
lavender purple sweatshirt. And then they also do custom embroidery around the neckline.
You could get your best friend's name or you could get a fun saying that you have the two of you.
And they just look really chic and fun. And I get compliments every single time I wear them.
So highly recommend. The next one could have gone.
the stocking stuffers, but I also think it's a fun one for your bestie. I've actually bought these
for most of my besties, which is the Stojo reusable cups. They are silicone cups and they're
collapsible. So they compact into like something pretty small, like the size of the palm of your
hands. You can toss it in your bag and have it with you all the time. They come in the best fun colors.
I have one that's like the same color of pink as my cookbook. And I love it. I take it with me everywhere.
It means that you don't, when you go to get your tea out or your match or your coffee out,
you don't ever have to use those paper cups, which are actually coated in a thin plastic layer.
That's why water doesn't go through them.
If they were just paper, obviously water would break it and go through it.
So you're drinking a little bit of plastic.
And obviously, that plastic also is good for the environment.
So I love having my cup.
And also because it's such a fun color, people always ask about it when you use it out.
And they're like, oh, hey, like, what's that?
Can I try it and you get to feel like you're spreading a little bit of that low-waste lifestyle when you use it?
So pick out your bestie's favorite color and give her a stojo reasonable cup for sure.
The book I have for this category is a very, very fun novel.
It's called Daisy Jones in the Six.
And it is about a rock and roll band in the 70s.
And it's told in this sort of like Rolling Stones reported article style where there's a mystery kind of and you're hearing all of the different bands.
members talk about their perspective at the time. So it'll be like a paragraph from each band
member's perspective. And it's so cool, so rock and roll. It just, it's a very fun book to read.
And I think it would be such a fun one to give to your bestie for you to read to.
I also have a cookbook for this category, which is Sababa by Adina Sussman. Adina Sussman co-wrote a
number of cookbooks. She co-wrote a few of Gwyneth Paltors cookbooks. She's been, I think she's
co-written like eight or nine cookbooks. So she's very healthy vegetable forward cuisine, but she lives
in Israel now. And these are Israeli-inspired recipes, but with fun twist because she's not, you know,
born and raised Israeli cook, who's only cooking, die hard, very traditional Israeli food. So it's
Israeli-based. It's beautifully vegetable forward and really interesting creative flavor profile.
So I think this would be a really fun one to get in the kitchen together and play around with
types of cuisines and types of flavor combinations that you never thought of before. And then
eat a really delicious meal together. Then we have tarot training. This is an online tarot training.
I think this is so fun. I always like waver about how much I believe in tarot and believe in
astrology and things like that. But it also feels really dead on. I'm a Leo and Zachson
Aquarius, for instance, and he's this inventor type person. And I am a person who,
loves attention and is kind of bossy. And you couldn't flip us and have it still make sense. So I don't
know. Also, this tarot training is from somebody named Lindsay Mack. She's an incredible tarot artist.
I've actually seen her in real life. She did a reading for me. And it was an incredible reading.
It was truly one of the best readings I've ever had. I always think it's fun too. Even if I'm
unsure how much I believe in it, I always get like a tingly head sensation when somebody is doing it for me.
and I like the storytelling and the psychology element and stuff like that.
So this is her online tarot training course and it teaches you how to read the tarot cards,
which I think if nothing else would be a super fun party trick and it would definitely be a gift
that I would like to have.
Next, we have a subscription to Cherry Bomb.
Cherry Bomb is an incredible magazine.
It's about women in the food industry.
It comes out quarterly by the amazing Carrie Diamond who blurbed my book, which was so sweet.
That was one of the cooler blurbs that I've gotten.
And I just, I still marvel over the fact that she's even held my book in her hands, which is so cool.
But her magazine is incredible.
It's spotlighting the incredible women who are changing the food industry chefs and cookbook authors and all of that.
So I think that's a super fun present.
And we have an infrared sauna session.
So infrared sauna is like we talked about a little bit earlier.
They're very trendy these days.
They definitely have health benefits.
I think especially because it's winter, even just the I,
idea of going somewhere really warm and cozy and sweating it out together. I think a session
that the two of you do together would be so fun. So just Google infrared sauna session in your city.
And then we have some ceramics. I love my ceramics. I need to do a whole tour of my various
ceramics that I've collected. But I think this particular one would be so cute for your bestie.
It's the earth and element moon cup. And it's essentially this beautiful ceramic cup. They have a
couple different colors and it has a moon and gold on it. And it's so cute. I get compliments every
single time that I use it. They also have, if you really want to get splurgy, they have a set that
is all of the phases of the moon and I love them. And they have beautiful plates and bowls, but it's
absolutely one of my favorite ceramic sites. So definitely worth checking that out. And then the last one
that I have for the bestie is the tillet jumpsuit. So if you've seen on my Instagram, I have this like
lavender jumpsuit that I wear and I'm obsessed with it. It is so comfortable and it's very forgiving.
I'm not, I got hips and I got a booty and I feel like I would not normally stick my body inside
a jumpsuit and expect it to work very well for me. But this one somehow does. They designed it with
a bunch of different bodies in mine and they're designed by Tillet, which is a very famous
apron brand and kitchenware brand. And it's a brand that makes kitchenware for professional chefs in
professional kitchens. And this is the jumpsuit that they created four professional chefs
and professional kitchens. But so it's very functional and very utilitarian and it breathes and all of that
type of stuff. But it's so chic. You can wear it around town. It comes in so many fun colors.
And I just think it would be one of those wow presents that she'd be like, where did you get this?
This is amazing. All right. This is our final category. And this is for your workwife. So I have had many
a work wife in my life. I love, I think the whole work relationship is so fascinating because you become
so incredibly close to these. I mean, you're literally spending what, eight to 10 hours a day together,
which is an incredible. It's more time than you spend with any of your other friends combined,
but you're also sort of, it takes a second for that relationship to move outside of work. And you're like,
are we just going to talk about work if we go out to drinks or something like that? So my work
relationships have definitely, they've ran the gamut. I've had friends that have become absolutely my
best, best, best friends who have started at work. And then I've had people that you feel so close to them.
And then if you leave that job, you never see them again. These gifts are great for anybody that you work
with, for anybody that you see every single day at work. And you want them to be happy and comfy and
cozy in their office. So the first one is my favorite tea mug, which is the question of Eagles mug. It's
gorgeous. They have a few different ones. It's sort of an off-white ceramic, but it has beautiful
patterns, and it's a really large mug to drink your tea out of or your coffee out of. And I think
having a beautiful mug like that on your desk is a great way to just feel more excited every
single day. Like, feel like you're surrounding yourselves with things of beauty and I think it
helps with productivity. And it just helps you feel better and more lovely in your everyday
day-to-day life. And then for something to put in that mug, I have the Le Hemu tea. It's from a
company called Balak. I'm probably pronouncing this wrong, which is why I'm going to link everything
on my site. But it's the fanciest, most delicious, wonderful tea I've ever had in my life.
It's just a very upscale elevated tea. This one, they have a number of different blends, but this
one has lemon grass and lemon verbana and camomail and lavender and rose petals and mint and sage. And it's just,
It's calming and it feels like a moment of serenity and like an exotic vacation.
And I just think it's the perfect thing to brew around, I don't know, 3 p.m.
When you're just like, oh, my God, I'm so tired.
And it will put some vim and vigor and wonder back into your day and just feel like this
really special moment of pleasure in your day.
So I think that would be a really fun present for a workwife.
This next one is a book.
It's by a former podcast guest as well.
But again, I really try to pick people that deeply inspire me for this podcast.
And her name is Marie Forleo.
And her book is Everything is Figureoutable.
And it's just this wonderful book for people who want to achieve things and maybe tell
themselves stories about things that are standing in their way.
Because Marie thinks that everything is figureoutable like the title.
And it really makes you feel like any problem can be solved more than any other book
that I've ever read in my life.
I just feel like you come out of it and you're like, I can do anything I want to do.
I can be anything I want to be.
And I think this would be a really fun present for somebody that you work with because your work
wife, you're so much more involved in the nuances of their career.
You want them to succeed in their career.
And I think with our other friends, you know, you talk about career, but you don't know
what their last interaction with their boss was like or maybe what they aspire to do in their
career in the same way as somebody who are really in it on the ground with every single day
at the office.
So I think everything is figure out.
I'll definitely go listen to the podcast episode with Marie.
there's so much inspiration there.
It lit a fire under my ass.
And so I definitely think it will light a fire under your ass to do whatever you want to do.
She really, you can do anything you want to do in your relationship, in your career, in your sense of self.
And this podcast episode and then her book as well, I think will absolutely help you actualize all of your dreams.
So highly recommend everything is figure outable by Marie Forleo.
And then the last book that I have on this list,
I know I'm sorry.
If you want to talk about books more, come over to Instagram.
I'm at Liz Moody.
I will talk about books with you until the end of time.
I love talking about books so much.
But the last book I have on this list, which I think would be fun for your workwife,
is City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert.
It is the most fun book that I have read this year.
It's a beautiful novel.
It takes place in the 1940s in New York City at a theater company.
And I think there was a review of it that said it like went down like a glass of
fizzy sham.
pain and it really does. It is a feel-good book, but it's really well-written. It doesn't feel kind of like a
beach read, but it's a very easy read and a fun read, and you'll have a huge smile on your face the
entire time you read it. So if you want to give a little gift of joy to somebody, City of Girls is where
it's at. All right, you cannot do a workwife list without some blue light blocking glasses. That is
a necessity these days because we spend so much time on our screen. So what Zach and I did, this is,
this gives you an example of the type of things that we do for fun around this household.
We essentially took a bunch of different blue light glasses and then we studied them at home.
He has like a measuring thing for different types of light.
It's because he works in startups.
Don't ask me.
I don't really know what was happening.
But he tested to see how much blue light was actually being blocked by different lenses.
And so many of the ones out there don't block any blue light at all.
But one of them that actually looked pretty cute did.
and it's a company called Gunner.
They have really cute frames that'll make you look cute at work.
And then they have one that blocks a fairly decent amount of blue light.
And it's their clear lens.
And then they have their yellow lens, which blocks a ton of blue light.
So you can choose between the two of the yellows.
Definitely you notice that you're wearing yellow lenses.
But I think a cute blue light blocking glasses is a really great gift that keeps on giving for people to help lessen headaches, tension headaches.
It helps with eye strain.
and it just helps make that time that you spend in front of your screen a little bit more pleasant.
All right, we got two left.
Are you still with me?
This is my favorite candle that I have discovered this year.
I discovered it on a work trip to Cincinnati and it's just like cute little shop and I fell in love.
It is the Wicked Obscura Gypsy Caravan candle and they use all natural waxes.
I think I'm going to pick it up.
I think it's a soy.
Yeah, it's a soy wax blend and it uses essential oils and it has a wood,
wick, so totally non-toxic. And then they put these like beautiful kind of like crystals and herbs
and stuff in the top. And this one, the Wicked Obscura, I'm just smelling it now. It smells like a,
I don't know, like a witchy shop, like a cool witchy shop that you would stumble into. It says on the
front that it's black dahlia, petulie, and lilac. And I love it. It just makes me feel spooky and
cool. And I think having one of these candles on your desk, even if you, some offices let you light
candles. Other ones don't. But,
even if you don't light it, you could have whiffs of that scent throughout the day.
And I think that scent is such so powerful.
And that would be such a mood booster.
It just feels a little sexy and fun and dark and sultry.
So they have a lot of different sets.
And they're all really beautiful, beautiful packaging.
And they all have the little sort of crystals and herbs and flowers on the top.
So gorgeous to look at.
But they smell so good and totally non-toxic.
So highly recommend.
All right.
The last one is the Bloomscape,
tough stuff plant collection. And this is essentially three small potted plants that are designed to be
unkillable, which I love because I do not have a green thumb. Zach, 100% has the green thumb in our
relationship. He keeps all of our plants alive. Thank God for him because I love being surrounded by
plants. But I love the idea of putting a little plant on your desk. You could even order this set because
it's three small ones. And then you could give different plants to different people in your office because
often you'll have more than just one really good friend at the office. You could keep one for your own desk.
Looking at green throughout the day has such a wondrous effect on our mood. And I think that especially
if you're in a cubicle and you have like a harsh overhead lighting, just having that plant on your desk
does wonders for uplifting you and giving you a sense of nature. Also, plants actually release terpines
into the air. And turpines are one of the things that like make CBD really good for you. When you
breed them in, they actually affect your brain on a chemical level and make you feel happier.
It's one of the reasons that forest bathing has become such a, like a scientifically studied thing,
particularly in Japan. It's science back that walking through a forest reduces stress levels
and reduces inflammation and helps fight cancer. And that's largely because of the turpines
that the plants are releasing into the air. And so you can get a teeny dose of turpines on your desk
by getting a plant. So I love the bloom scape, tough stuff, plant collection. You ordered online.
They ship it to you and they're pre-potted, so they're good to go.
You don't have to have any plant knowledge or skill or aptitude whatsoever to be able to deal with
it, which I love.
All right.
That was the very first edition of the Healthier Together holiday gift guide.

The number one rule of habits is to make the things that you want easier and the things that you
don't want harder.
Yet so many of us want to eat healthier, but so few of us actually take the steps to
make eating healthier easier. That's where Marley Spoon comes in. What I love about this company and what's
different than all of the other companies out there that are doing like stuff in the same arena is that you can
customize your choices based on the effort that you want to put in. So if you want them to send you
ingredients, so you can make your own 20 minute meal and like get into your chef energy, they'll send it to
you to all be in perfect portions so you eliminate waste. Great. That's sorted. But they also have meals that
you can just heat up.
They have ready-made breakfast,
which is always such a tough time of day
to get a healthy meal in.
They have grab-and-go snacks.
Everything is made from farm-fresh produce
with high-quality proteins,
and you can select by dietary preferences,
including Mediterranean diet,
which is the top diet that doctors on this podcast recommend.
Also, things like gluten-free,
dairy-free, low-sodium,
anything that you need.
The food is so good and it's so gourmet feeling
like you feel like you're at a nice restaurant.
We're talking like chicken milanese
with a crunchy cucumber.
or arugula salad or everything bagel salmon with truffle chive potatoes.
My favorite recent meal was the creamy lemon chicken tray bake.
I had one of those moments where I looked at my plate and I was like, wait, I made this
and so quickly, like so easily, it's just so little effort for so much reward.
Marley Spoon just makes eating well feel easy instead of stressful and honestly that is
everything.

Every single thing that I just listed has been linked to chemicals and household cleaners.
One study found that regular use of cleaning sprays was associated with a lung function decline
comparable to smoking 10 to 20 cigarettes per day.
Synthetic fragrances are a well-documented migraine trigger and a number of studies have linked
ingredients in common household cleaners to fertility issues, thyroid dysfunction, mood changes,
and more because of their impact on our endocrine systems.
Luckily, you can just make one simple swap and you can eliminate all of those risk factors that you get from common household cleaners.
Branch Basics makes cleaning products that are plant and mineral based, completely fragrance-free, and made safe certified,
meaning they are screened against thousands of known and suspected harmful chemicals.
And best of all, you literally use one product, but you mix it with different amounts of water to make your kitchen spray, your bathroom cleaner,
your laundry detergent, your produce wash, your glass cleaner, literally everything.
It does not smell. It does not give me headaches. It does not give me rashes or itchiness from clothes
because you are. Remember, we're using this for laundry. We're using this for literally everything.
And it works so well. Everything gets so clean. And I know that I'm protecting myself from all
of those long-term issues too. And I'm protecting my kittens who are much tinier than me. So
anything they're exposed to has a much greater impact on their little tiny systems.
And they're running around on their little paws and then they're licking them.
So I'm protecting them too.
Branch Basics is now available at Target, Target.com, Amazon and branchbasics.com.
