Starting point is 00:00:00 I'm going to say something that feels counterintuitive, but stick with me here. I think that you are working too hard. I think that I am working too hard. I think that all of us are putting too much effort in and it's actually hurting our results. There's this meme online that has stuck with me forever. And in the first clip, it's intense music and there's a person just like grinding away, like running from one thing to another, wiping sweat off their brow, just like hustling. And then there's this contrasting clip of somebody just like floating along
Starting point is 00:00:29 and the music is like, I'm spinning like a ballerina. Sorry, I know. I'm always singing and I'm always apologizing to you guys for singing. But in that meme, I'm the first one. I am the hustler. I am wiping the sweat from my brow. Meanwhile, I am watching the ballerinas get the money, get the health, get the happiness, effortlessly that I am busting my ass working toward.
Starting point is 00:00:55 So I started wondering what gives, why does doing less, sometimes yield bigger results. And what I found out changed my approach, not only to my job, but also my relationships, my goals, pretty much every single part of my everyday life. Hello, friends, and welcome back to the Liz Moody podcast. I'm Liz. I've been a journalist for over two decades, a very, very long time. I do the research.
Starting point is 00:01:19 I find these science-backed solutions, and I ask the tough questions so that you can live the life that you deserve. And today, we're getting into how to make that life lazier so that you can feel better moment to moment, and also, this is the important part, you can get better results. First of all, I want to acknowledge that it's pretty much drilled into us from day one that more effort equals greater success. If something isn't working, we are trained to try harder, to be more disciplined, to add more rules to push through our resistance. In almost every single area of life, when something is not working, we do not make it easier. We blame ourselves and we
Starting point is 00:01:58 try harder. I have done this so many times. Maybe I'll feel like I'm eating less than healthfully, maybe after like a holiday or a vacation or a busy period at work. And then to fix it, I'll add in all of these rules. I'll try to completely cut out sugar for two weeks and I'll go crazy. I'll end up like stroking the croissant case at my local coffee shop. Or I'll feel lonely or like I want more community and I'll sign up for a bunch of classes and events and I'll add all of these things to my schedule. And then when the time comes to actually attend them, I feel exhausted and overwhelmed and I end up skipping everything to scroll on my couch. Or at work. God, I do this so much at work. If I am not feeling productive, I log more hours at my computer. I also have this pervasive narrative
Starting point is 00:02:50 that the harder something feels, the more valuable it is. The harder something feels, the more valuable it is. So a social media post that takes me a few minutes is nowhere near as valuable is one that I obsess over for hours. I have the idea that if something is easy, it is void of value. And it turns out that science, and also every time I have tried this out in my actual life, science and my lived experience just very plainly show that this is wrong. This is the wrong perspective.
Starting point is 00:03:22 We're biologically wired to conserve energy. So when we push ourselves to expend and expend and expend energy, we're going against what our systems are set up to do. And it gets progressively harder. And it also takes a progressively larger toll on our bodies. We're psychologically wired to avoid pain. So when we push our minds to their limits with stress and overwork, they push back. They create more friction and more stress, which makes it harder to get things done. When we put a ton of effort into things, we are setting ourselves up to fail the second that we feel
Starting point is 00:03:55 overwhelmed or hormonal or stressed or tired and and we're much more likely to hit that point sooner because we are over-efforting. It's this really vicious cycle. This is one of the key reasons why the people who are the most successful and the happiness, because there's not always overlap on that Venn diagram, but when there is overlap, the people who are the happiest and the most successful, those people have learned to work with the way that their brains and bodies are designed, the ways that our brains and bodies have evolved to be, while the rest of us are out here slamming up against it. They expend less effort. They conserve their energy. They do not push themselves to their limits because they know that that's the way they're going to get
Starting point is 00:04:41 better results. So how do we do that? How do we become the ballerina as just spinning around? Let's get into some science-back tactics to be lazier and to get better results. I have been testing many of these for months, so I will share the why. I'll share the research behind it, and then I will also share how I'm implementing them, how they're working in my actual life. The first thing was huge for me. Stop optimizing the things that do not matter. Actually, I get to be on the receiving end of this a lot.
Starting point is 00:05:16 The amount of DMs that I get from people about supplements or food dyes or whether a cirque walk should be 10 minutes or 11 minutes or 15 minutes is wild. Literally daily, I get messages from you guys about the things that are at the very, very, very, very, very, very top of the wellness pyramid. It makes 0.000-01% difference if you get outside 10 minutes earlier or 10 minutes later in the morning or if you stay outside for 10 minutes or 11 minutes or 12 minutes, But it does matter that you get outside and that you set your internal circadian clock so that you tell all the cells in your gut and your brain and your immune system what time it is so that they can function optimally. The amount of years that I spent not working out at all because I could not figure out the ideal workout routine is insane.
Starting point is 00:06:08 It is insane. I was overwhelmed by all of the zones and the heart rate stuff and would that? This workout spike my cortisol and what the heck were all of these different machines at the gym. And so I did nothing. I am the person who will research different types of dining chairs for months. Researchers actually have a name for this. There are optimizers who try to make the absolute best possible choice by comparing every option, by getting all of the information, by doing something completely perfectly.
Starting point is 00:06:41 That's me. I'm raising my hand. And then there's satisfizers who decide what they need. They pick something that meets that bar. They get the information that they need to take action on information and then they move on. Optimizers are more stressed. They're more regretful. They are less happy with the choices that they make because their brains keep asking,
Starting point is 00:07:02 what if, like, should I have done this? They're making these comparisons long after the decision is over. There is some nuance in the research and it essentially shows that the people who are the happiest are the people who strategically optimize. They figure out what truly matters, what moves the needle for the life that they want to live, and they optimize for that. And all of the other shit,
Starting point is 00:07:28 the restaurant that you pick for dinner tonight, the dining chairs, the sweatshirt, the 10-minute cirque-walk versus the 11-minute cirque-walk, they understand that that does not really matter. So, since confronting my sense, with this research, I try to ask myself regularly for my actual goals. Does what I'm stressing over matter that much? I will also, I really like this trick. I'll also sometimes literally just set time limits for myself. So I'll say like, I can research this for 20 minutes and then I have to
Starting point is 00:08:04 choose. And the real truth is I will never truly know what that other choice would have been like. I will never know life with the other dining chairs. So I might have as well enjoy the ones that I have. And having chairs is better than sitting and folding chairs for months, which is maybe or maybe not what I've actually been doing. And having that mental energy back is worth its weight in gold. Some cirque walk is better than no cirque walk. Going to the gym, going for a walk, moving your body in some way is so much better than being so confused and intimidated by that entire world that you just do nothing. Something is always better than nothing. I want you to just take one second and think about one place that you're over-exerting, that you're
Starting point is 00:08:53 optimizing for something that even if it were truly perfect, would not actually move the needle that much. Maybe it's something that just truly does not matter, like what restaurant you go to, what you order off the menu at that restaurant, or it's something that the difference that we are talking about is the matter of teeny tiny little incremental percent. You're like talking about the difference between doing something 80% well and 82% well, and it's better to just do something than get stuck trying to optimize and do nothing at all. So the question here is what can you optimize less for? Speaking of, the next lazy principle is just eliminating decisions entirely. If there is one thing that the most successful people in the world have in common, it is creating
Starting point is 00:09:40 systems so that they do not have to use mental energy on shit that does not matter. Steve Jobs famously wore the exact same outfit every single day. He wore that black turtleneck, which, by the way, I often think about how our beauty standards are tipped toward being able to do that for men. I remember an experiment that a newscaster did where he wore literally the same suit every day on air, on television for over a year and not a single person noticed. Meanwhile, women are picking out different outfits. We're doing our hair. We're doing our makeup. And we're being told that performance of beauty is a form of taking care of ourselves. It's being called a beauty routine.
Starting point is 00:10:23 It's a self-care routine. But it's costing us thousands of hours of our most valuable resource, our energy. Not to mention the actual cost, like the amount of money that it's costing us. I am clearly not immune to this. I'm sitting here with my hair done. I'm sitting here with my makeup done because I feel like if I do not perform beauty, I won't have my message, my words taken as seriously or viewed as widely. But I don't know what the solution is here. It's a problem that I think about regularly and it sucks. Anyway, I digress systems. Let's talk about systems. I break down these systems that I want to create in my life into two categories. The things that I truly do not give a shit about and the things that I give
Starting point is 00:11:08 many, many shits about. I shall explain. The things that I do not give a shit about include household chores like buying paper towels and toilet paper and cat food, returning packages, paying bills, washing my hair. These are things that I do not give a shit about, but I have to do them. So I create systems. I have paper towels and toilet paper and cat food set up on auto order. I never to think about it. It just arrives at my door in the time periods that I need it. I have my bills and also my savings set up on auto pay. I have a hair washing system. I wash my hair every three days and I have specific steps that I go through. So one time I wash it fully, I use certain products. And then three days later, I wash just the top part of it and I use different products. I just,
Starting point is 00:11:56 I have a system so I don't have to think about it. I use the same makeup literally every single time that I do my makeup, I figured out what I like and what I don't like, and then I do not think about it after that at all. These are the things that I do not give a shit about. So I try to make them as systematized as possible so that they do not need to occupy any space in my brain. On the other side, I have the things that really matter to me, the things that I strongly give a shit about. Like, it's extremely critical for my mental health for me to get my daily workout in. It is extremely important for me to eat food that gives me the energy that I need to thrive. My relationship with Zach and with my friends, those are all extremely important to me.
Starting point is 00:12:44 So instead of hoping those things happen or relying on motivation, I create systems. I work out at the same time every day and I have set workout. So I do strength training on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I do zone two on Tuesday, and then I do a V-O-2 max hit workout on Thursday. I don't sit around thinking, should I work out today? What should I do? I plan once, and then I reap the rewards forever. I send voice notes to friends during my morning circwalk. That's a system. I have so many standing dates, which are my favorite friendship hack. I have a standing workout date with one of my friends. I have a Tuesday night rom-com date with another friend. I'm a member of a monthly book club. I have a
Starting point is 00:13:26 have another group of nonfiction authors who meet up every other month. I do not sit around and think about making all these plans or how am I going to support these relationships, how am I going to stay in contact with these people? No, this is important to me. I give a shit about it, so I systematize it. Think about one thing that you don't give a shit about and one thing that you really give a shit about and create one system to support each one of those things. Think deeply one time and then take it off your mental plate. When it comes to wellness, you're going to get the best results by focusing on the big needle movers. A lot of us spend a lot of time trying to optimize that last 1%, which creates a ton of stress,
Starting point is 00:14:06 and it actually doesn't help our health that much. At the top of the needle mover list, sleep. And one of the best ways to optimize your sleep is to optimize your mattress, which is why I love avocado green mattress so much. First of all, this mattress is so comfortable. I have the one with the pillow top, which is medium firm, and it's just a dream. I miss it when I travel. It's better than even the fanciest hotel beds. Having a mattress that supports your joints and your body and feels good is going to help you get more sleep and better quality sleep.
Starting point is 00:14:36 But then, on top of that, avocado mattresses are made with certified organic cotton, wool, and latex, and they are made safe and green guard gold certified. They're also Okotech certified, which is the gold standard. I look for it in any mattresses, sheets, or towels that I buy, which means the materials have been rigorously tested for harmful substances. You can actually look for the Okotech standard 100 label right on the product, and I love this part. It includes a traceable certificate number and the name of the testing lab so you know exactly what you're getting. There are no toxic chemicals.
Starting point is 00:15:07 There's no harmful off-gassing. It does not smell like it's going to kill you when you unbox it. This is what I mean. I'm not going to swap out all of my clothing, which is that top 1% of optimization. But by making sure that my mattress and my bedding are as good for me as possible, I literally reduce my exposure during a third of my life, which is a huge needle mover for a one-time swap. I will also note, and this is a me thing, but I sleep super hot and avocado's materials are really breathable, and it makes me sweat the least of any mattress that I have slept on. And
Starting point is 00:15:40 avocado is a certified B-Corp and a 1% for the planet member because caring for yourself and caring for the planet do not have to be separate things. You can get up to 20% off organic mattresses and more by shopping Avocados President's Day Sale right now at avocadogreenmatress.com. That is avocadogreenmatress.com, no code needed. If you have headaches, allergies, brain fog, skin irritation, or you've been dealing with hormone issues, you are especially going to want to listen to this ad. Every single thing that I just listed has been linked to chemicals and household cleaners. One study found that regular use of cleaning sprays was associated with a lung function decline
Starting point is 00:16:21 comparable to smoking 10 to 20 cigarettes per day. Synthetic fragrances are a well-documented migraine trigger and a number of studies have linked ingredients in common household cleaners to fertility issues, thyroid dysfunction, mood changes, and more because of their impact on our endocrine systems. Luckily, you can just make one simple swap and you can eliminate all of those risk factors that you get from common household cleaners.
Starting point is 00:16:46 Branch Basics makes cleaning products that are plant and mineral-based, completely fragrance-free and made safe certified, meaning they are screened against thousands of known and suspected harmful chemicals. And best of all, you literally use one product, but you mix it with different amounts of water to make your kitchen spray, your bathroom cleaner, your laundry detergent, your produce wash, your glass cleaner, literally everything. It does not smell.
Starting point is 00:17:11 It does not give me headaches. It does not give me rashes or itchiness from clothes because you are. Remember, we're using this for laundry. We're using this for literally everything. and it works so well. Everything gets so clean. And I know that I'm protecting myself from all of those long-term issues too. And I'm protecting my kittens who are much tinier than me. So anything they're exposed to has a much greater impact on their little tiny systems. And they're running around on their little paws and then they're licking them. So I'm protecting them too.
Starting point is 00:17:39 Branch Basics is now available at Target, Target.com, Amazon and branchbasics.com. So it's easier than ever to make the switch. And if you want to grab their premium starter kit, you can use code Liz Moody for 15% off at branchbasics.com. That's code Liz Moody for 15% off the premium starter kit at branchbasics.com. And when they ask you where you heard about us, please make sure to mention the show. That is branch basics.com and use code Liz Moody. The number one rule of habits is to make the things that you want easier and the things that you don't want harder. Yet so many of us want to eat healthier, but so few of us actually take the steps to make eating healthier easier. That's where Marley Spoon comes in.
Starting point is 00:18:23 What I love about this company and what's different than all of the other companies out there that are doing stuff in the same arena is that you can customize your choices based on the effort that you want to put in. So if you want them to send you ingredients, so you can make your own 20-minute meal and get into your chef energy, they'll send it to you to all be in perfect portions so you'll eliminate waste. Great. That's sorted.
Starting point is 00:18:45 But they also have meals that you can just hear. heat up. They have ready-made breakfast, which is always such a tough time of day to get a healthy meal in. They have grab and go snacks. Everything is made from farm fresh produce with high-quality proteins and you can select by dietary preferences, including Mediterranean diet, which is the top diet that doctors on this podcast recommend. Also things like gluten-free, dairy-free, low-sodium, anything that you need. The food is so good and it's so gourmet feeling like you feel like you're at a nice restaurant. We're talking like chicken Milanese with a crunchy cucumber arugula salad or everything bagel salmon with truffle chive potatoes. My favorite recent meal was the creamy lemon chicken tray bake.
Starting point is 00:19:25 I had one of those moments where I looked at my plate and I was like, wait, I made this. And so quickly, like so easily. It's just so little effort for so much reward. Marley Spoon just makes eating well feel easy instead of stressful. And honestly, that is everything. This new year, fast track your way to eating well with Marley Spoon. Had done. to Marley Spoon.com slash offer slash Liz Moody for up to 25 free meals. That is right, up to 25 free meals with Marley Spoon. That is Marley Spoon.com slash offer slash Liz Moody. So remember to get the offer slash Liz Moody for up to 25 free meals. Next, I want you to define the bare minimum, the lowest bar version of something. This is such a lazy winner.
Starting point is 00:20:13 when we have not done this, tasks and habits feel overwhelming, so we do not do them. So for your workouts, for your healthy eating, for cleaning, for any new habit or goal that you are adding into your life,
Starting point is 00:20:26 I want you to define your ideal. That's like if all things were perfect, what would we want to do here? And then I want you to define your bare minimum. So maybe for movement, the ideal is something like the routine that I described. But maybe the bare minimum is, I put on one song and I dance to it.
Starting point is 00:20:45 For cleaning, maybe the ideal is like, I'm vacuuming once a week, I'm spraying down the counters. It's like a full on tidy session. But maybe the minimum is setting a timer for five minutes and seeing what you can accomplish during that time. If you have a big goal like learning Spanish or writing a book, maybe the ideal is spending 30 minutes on it or writing a thousand words.
Starting point is 00:21:08 But maybe the minimum is a five-minute session or just a hundred words. And then the next time that you're like, ugh, I'm tired, I don't want to do this thing. I don't have the energy for this thing. Just do the minimum. And here's the secret. Often, very often, you'll find it easy to keep going
Starting point is 00:21:27 because the startup cost is the greatest hurdle by far. Once you are in motion, it is much, much easier to stay in motion. And, and even if you do not stay in motion, even if you just do the bare minimum, that's going to reduce your startup cost the next day, and you're going to reap the rewards. Five minutes of moving your body gives you benefits. You can write an entire book 100 words at a time, but you cannot write a book by waking up
Starting point is 00:21:56 every day and telling yourself that you should write a thousand words and then being completely overwhelmed and not doing it and then shaming yourself for it. The most successful people define a minimum every single time they define an ideal. So they know the lowest possible thing they can default to. So the next time that you add in any habit into your life, I want you to have your goal, but I want you to have your minimum too. The next thing that lazy people do to get better results is to trust their future selves. I was talking to my friend the other day and she's about to graduate from her graduate program
Starting point is 00:22:31 and she has a job offer on the table and she was trying to plan her next job after that job. and she was getting incredibly stressed about not knowing the full path of the next five years of her life. And I was like, girl, once you graduate, once you are working in this job, you're going to have so much more information. Trust future you to figure it out. Look, I am all about a good life plan. I am all for a dream. And I think once we are clinging to these paths, once we are stressing about these dreams, they're not working for us anymore. We don't know the future. We spend so much time stressing about the future and trying to figure
Starting point is 00:23:13 everything out and then we get to the future and we realize it's nothing like what we picture. So all of that time, all of that stress, all of that energy was wasted. Trust Future You. Trust that Future You is going to have information to make plans that present you cannot even conceptualize. Future you has so much more knowledge than present you. Future You also wants you to enjoy the present, to live in the present because they know all too well how quickly it goes and how much you're going to miss it when it's gone. So give present you a gift and trust future you a little bit more. Trust that when the time comes, you're going to have the information that you need to take the actions that you need. Okay, I've got two more lazy person hacks for
Starting point is 00:23:59 you. One, I want you to prune. I want you to get rid of things. We talk so much about the habits that we're adding in and not nearly enough about the ones that we are getting rid of. Every few months, I want you to take inventory of your life and get rid of the things that aren't serving you. Get rid of the supplements that aren't having the impact that you want. Survey the habits that you have been trying to add in. Are they making your life better? Are they worth the time and the energy and the money? If not, get rid of them. them or modify them. Our habits are meant to serve us. We are not meant to serve our habits. Quitting is not failing. Quitting is the thing that makes room for the stuff that's going to
Starting point is 00:24:49 propel us to the next level. This can even be something that worked for you for a long time. It's not a failure to say, hey, I have changed. This has served its purpose for me and now it's time to let it go. We stay in far too many habits, far too many relationships, far too many dreams for our lives out of inertia. Take a second, get intentional, and prune that shit back. Get rid of the weed so that there is room for the flowers to bloom. You're going to hate the last one, and that's okay because I know that you need to hear it. I needed to hear it. I still need to hear it like regularly on a daily basis. The lazy people, the people spinning like ballerinas who are crushing at life while we are all hustling and dripping sweat, the lazy, successful people
Starting point is 00:25:39 make time for rest. Not because they are at the absolute end of their rope and they need to rest before they collapse into a ball crying. No, they rest before that. And I want you to do that too. I want you to rest before you earn it, before you deserve it, before everything on. on your to-do list is done. When we rest, and not like scroll on social media, but truly rest, we show up better for every other part of our lives. You will get better results by resting. Your brain will work better. Your body will work better. We live in a world where we're told that if we are feeling behind, if we want to get more done, we need to work harder, we need to work longer hours. And it's been shown over and over again in research to not be true. There are
Starting point is 00:26:25 actual studies that show that work expands or compresses into the time that we allow for it. So that means that the amount of time that we spend on something is not commensurate with our outputs. This is how parents paradoxically seem to get more done the more they have on their plate. It's a really interesting principle. I wrote about it in my book. But essentially, if you give yourself less time for a task, that task will just take less time to a certain limit.
Starting point is 00:26:51 But it's a really interesting thing to play around with to experiment with. say you're going to give yourself an hour for something. If you give yourself 45 minutes for it, it will take 45 minutes. You'll get it done in 45 minutes. That's with the study show. And I've tried this out in my life and I've experienced it. So it's a really interesting thing to play around with. So, okay, working less lets us get more done. But it turns out we can rest better too. According to research, there are actually seven different types of rest. And if you're missing any of them, you can still feel exhausted. This is why so many of us are like, well, I bedrodded for eight hours Why do I still feel burnt out? Because you are missing key types of rest. There's physical rest. So that's
Starting point is 00:27:31 things like sleeping, lying down, taking rest days from working out. There is a mental rest. That's giving your brain a break from solving and planning and worrying. There's emotional rest, which is like that feeling you get when you hang out with really comfy, cozy people, like you can just be yourself and not have to perform at all. There is sensory rest, which is a sensory rest, which is a feeling you get. is no screens, no loud noises, no strong smells, literally giving your senses a rest, a break. There is creative rest, which isn't about producing more, but being inspired by beautiful books or paintings or nature. There's social rest, which is taking a break from other people. And then there is spiritual rest, which means being connected to something bigger, your community,
Starting point is 00:28:18 your purpose, your values, or your religion. I can do a whole podcast on the Seven Types of rest and how to know what you're missing and how to get all the different ones in. But just from listening to that brief description, you can probably get a sense of what types of rest you're missing. So add in that type or those types if you're missing a few different ones. And that's going to make you feel way more rested. And then the last thing that I want to say, just as we're talking about rest, is I want you to schedule rest in the same way that you schedule your meetings and your calls and your dinner dates. I don't want it to be the thing that you do after everything else is off your plate,
Starting point is 00:28:55 I want you to view it as the thing that facilitates everything else. The most successful people do not put rest off as something that they get to do later once they have checked everything else off their to-do list. They lean in to their laziness. They know that resting more will get them further ahead
Starting point is 00:29:15 and they treat it accordingly. I could share more of these lazy hacks, but an excellent lazy hack is to test and iterate and then go from there. If you want to invent a product or service, run the idea by some people, acquire some potential customers before you lock yourself in a room for months designing a logo. So with this, I will put out these hacks. And if you love them and you want more, great, now I know and I can make another episode
Starting point is 00:29:40 for you. I want you to commit to try one of these and tell me which one in the comments. And then I would also love to hear any secrets that you have for making your life lazier and better. Also, if you could take one second and send a link to this episode to your partner, to a friend, to a family member, because we all deserve to be lazier to get our time and energy back and to have a life that feels better and doesn't require more effort to get there. Starting point is 00:31:34 This podcast is presented solely for educational and entertainment purposes. It is not intended as a substitute for the advice of a physician, a psychotherapist, or any other qualified professional. I very rarely get genuinely excited about skincare, but this is one of the most innovative products that I have come across in years, and I'm so obsessed with it. I've been telling all of my friends to get it, so now I need to tell you guys. Here's some science first. Your skin isn't just getting older. It's being actively broken down by something called senescent cells.
Starting point is 00:32:08 These are cells that have stopped functioning but refuse to die. They sit there releasing inflammatory signals, breaking down your collagen, degrading your skin barrier and accelerating every visible sign of aging. Scientists call them zombie cells and as they accumulate, they are one of the primary drivers of how old your skin looks and feels. The team at one skin, a group of female longevity researchers and PhDs, spent five years testing over 900 peptides to figure out how to help reduce the accumulation of senescent cells.
Starting point is 00:32:40 And they finally landed on it. OSO1, the first peptide scientifically studied to reduce skin. skin's biological age at the molecular level. OSO1 goes in and it clears out the senescent cells so it helps skin function like healthier, younger looking skin. It is not masking the signs of aging. It's not targeting one thing. It is actually rolling the clock back at a cellular level. I've been using the face moisturizer for almost six months now and I love it so much. It feels amazing. It goes on really smoothly. It's not tacky at all. And I actually see a difference, which I just feel like is never the case with skincare.
Starting point is 00:33:17 You want to always like see a real difference and you're kind of like, do, do I? Do I? And this I genuinely do. Because it's clearing the senescent cells, it doesn't just target one thing. So my skin looks firmer. It looks glowier. The texture feels dramatically smoother. And I feel like you can see that too.
Starting point is 00:33:34 I also love the body moisturizer. It dries down really quickly, which is always a pet peeve of mine with moisturizers. I hate that like sticky feeling when you go to put your clothes on. This does not do that. but it does moisturize really, really well. And then again, I'm reducing my skin's biological age. I am not making it just look younger. I am making it actually younger. One Skin has four peer-reviewed clinical studies and over 10,000 five-star reviews. When you think about strength and resilience, like your ability to feel energized, to recover well, to stay strong as you get older, what do you think that actually comes from? Most people say working out are good nutrition, and yes, of course that matters. But there is a biological foundation underneath all of that
Starting point is 00:34:33 that most people are completely overlooking. I have been diving deep into this, with the team at timeline, and what I've learned has genuinely shifted how I think about my own health. Every single movement that your body makes every step, every workout, every muscle contraction depends on energy produced at the cellular level. And at the center of that is your mitochondria. Here is the thing that nobody tells you, certainly nobody told me, starting around age 30, our mitochondria naturally become less efficient. More get damaged, more become sluggish, and over time that impacts your energy, your strength, your recovery, and your recovery,
Starting point is 00:35:08 your resilience. Most of us respond by pushing more. We're like noticing these things and we're adding in more protein. We're trying to fix it with more supplements. We're trying to do harder workouts. And those things do help. But timelines research suggests that we also need to be supporting the cellular machinery underneath.
Starting point is 00:35:26 And that is exactly what their supplement, Mito Pure, does. It contains Erolithin A, which helps your body clear out damage mitochondria and support healthier ones so that your cells can produce energy more efficiently. Because this is happening to your cells, it's going to impact your entire body, your immune system, your muscles. One study found that taking mitochondere increased muscle strength by 12% in four months with no change in exercise routine, it's going to impact your energy, your sleep, your skin, your cell health impacts all of this, and urolithin A keeps your cells healthy. Timeline has done over 15 years of research and testing on this one product, urolithin A,
Starting point is 00:36:05 which, by the way, most of us lack the gut bacteria to synthesize natural. that's why many of us need to supplement it to get the benefits. This has become a staple supplement for me. It is my top way to support how I want to look and feel as I age. Support yourselves and how you age with mitopure gummies from Timeline.
