Starting point is 00:00:00 Your Wormsworld! Podcast time! Andy hates it! Woo! Woo! Woo! I want everybody to know right off the bat, four of us. Quaid Orum. Everybody's here.
Starting point is 00:00:12 Very excited. Loved the last episode. Oh, good. Wasn't there. Loved it. Did you learn anything, Seth? I learned a lot, but I also want to address some of the comments as to why I wasn't there. Someone posited that because it was about Duky Island and just the ton of
Starting point is 00:00:30 of Dooky that basically I was like, enjoy your sixth grade regression, I'm out of here. I think there probably would have been like 20% less dukies if you had been there. I would have loved to have been there, but I do think you guys probably got to push the full dukee. Push the full duke. He just got to step on the duke gas
Starting point is 00:00:46 in a way that maybe you wouldn't have been able to. You're not afraid of the duke. We got to push the full duke out. Someone else wrote, Seth, listening at home realizing he's been pronouncing Wu-Tang wrong this whole time. How dare you? I know that's not one of the ones I can get wrong. That's fair. I know all those guys. Method Man,
Starting point is 00:01:04 RZA, GZA. Okay. Old. Now you're just leaning in. Old man bastard. Coast face killer. Someone said we should do a Bhutan collab Jizzah in my pants. Or you should, not me. They would love that,
Starting point is 00:01:22 I'm sure. Andy's squeezing the bridge of his nose. Is that what Liquid Swords was actually about, guys? Not because of what you're saying. I'm just a physical uncomfortable. You look like a professor who is listening to oral reports and realizing you've just thrown your life away. Seth, don't force my hand in talking about me not wanting to do the podcast. Okay, okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:01:47 Like, I'll just chime in when things make sense. Wait, there's a small burn on you. It's not, you know, obviously I get a lot of turbo weight. Deservably so gets a lot of burns. Turbitt. Someone said, turbid, just what I needed this morning. 40-something guys listening to snippets of Wu-Tang songs from 30 years ago and saying so dope for half an hour. I think it was mostly my fault.
Starting point is 00:02:07 You read that sarcastically, but I hope that was in earnest. Yeah, no, you're right. I don't know. Just what I needed. A request for your arm to get Howard Parker to say later, Quades. Yeah. Yeah, I'm going to work on that. I'm going to work on that.
Starting point is 00:02:22 But, like, I think if you get him to do it, just get him to do it ten different ways and we play them all in a row. I'll do my best. Someone said, Falcour versus Trey was my ringtone in high school and almost got me suspended because it was playing almost at full volume in my bag when I went to the bathroom. They thought I was watching porn on my flip phone. I feel like that's one where you kind of should have been able to predict where that one was going. I'm trying to think of what that porno would be like. It really does go to show you, though, like a lid for every pot. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:51 Like there was someone out there who Falcour versus Trey was their fave one. It makes sense because it came from your high school. Oh, we got bad hung again. Bad hung is when Polar burns us in the Good Hang podcast. She's a demon. She's a demon. She has Keenan on, and Keenan's talking about how he came on, did a guest spot on Reba, and then went back and listened. He had then a new awareness of the pod. Talked about how much he enjoyed it. And he said, God bless those guys for showing up. And Amy said, showing up, barely showing up. Oh, my God. She then went on to also be a... Very complimentary. Well, that's nice.
Starting point is 00:03:31 She'll burn us. Anytime she gets a chance, she'll burn us. It's her right. Cross-hairs. You know, obviously, Yorm, Thorns, Keeves. There's a really good one, Andy. Somebody maybe, I think, cracked it. And it's a difference of when you hear one and you're like,
Starting point is 00:03:46 ah, fuck, that's really good. Okay. I'm going to give you one that I think is almost good. Okay. Queen beef. Okay. That's very... Right?
Starting point is 00:03:54 It's almost good. It's almost good, but it also is horrible in a way. Yeah. It's horrible smelling. Yeah, yeah. It like makes mathematical sense, but it's not pleasant. I don't care to say it or think about it. Ross Vents.
Starting point is 00:04:09 Oh, God. Excuse I. I mean, Ross Vent is really good. Excuse I. And then we hear Ross Vend. I really thought it was fantastic. And then a bunch of more terrible ones for me. Myers-Lemons, Myers-Briars.
Starting point is 00:04:29 Myer, I mean, this one, talk about unpleasant. The Myrers Club roast? It's supposed to be the friars. Yeah, that's bad. Myrers. It's admirably bad. Yeah. Myers Lemons works.
Starting point is 00:04:43 Myers' lemons isn't bad, you're right. Yeah. You know, we don't want to be given out free plugs. It is a plug. Myers lemons are some of the best kind of lemon you can get. Oh, so maybe it would be for things he likes. Wait, is it a company or a type of lemon, though? It's a type.
Starting point is 00:04:57 I believe. It's a type. Yeah, well, then, you know, plug away. Yeah, I think you're allowed to do it. We don't have to worry about not getting paid for it. Oh, but I got a, I'm calling out Dratch. Dratch did a bonus New York Times crossword puzzle that was SNL themed. Yeah, I had the exact same thing on this, Seth.
Starting point is 00:05:12 Same here. Yeah. Because I put it incorrectly because it's called church chat. Yeah. Church chat. The answer was church lady. And then all the other answers were wrong. And I was like, the fuck?
Starting point is 00:05:22 Then I knew it had to be the A in there. Yeah. And so I was like, did they get it wrong and do church talk? Yeah. I was really scratching my head. because of the way it was friends. The name of the sketch is church, chat. The character is church lady,
Starting point is 00:05:33 but the clue is name of the sketch. Yeah. I mean, the clue is actually the problem. They should have just made the clue of the characters. We're calling you out, Dratch. Yeah, Dratch. Where's the quality control, brother? We're calling you out.
Starting point is 00:05:43 Dratch. We're taking your name to the streets, Dratch. Yeah. We're taking you to task, Dratch. Then, oh, the New York Times mini. Oh, yeah. I mean, it was Azerski. Let's talk about it.
Starting point is 00:05:56 It was our B-boy. Sam Azerski did a little guest editor over on the mini. Woo! Thanks, Sam. And pretty awesome, guys. Now, Andy, you did it and didn't notice it, correct? I did it and didn't notice.
Starting point is 00:06:09 Me as well. I did it at three in the morning when I got home from a shoot. And what's crazy is, so the first real big clue is there's a clue called needing a friend and the answer is lonely. Yeah. And when I put that in, I was like, oh, good. I can type that super fast because I've typed it 10,000 times in my life. So I even connected that lonely to lonely island in my brain.
Starting point is 00:06:29 Yeah. Then just another two clues later, or one clue later, really, it said, what was it? It was something about the kitchen island. Yeah. It was something about, like, what do you call the... A freestanding counter at the center of a kitchen. This was on the 5th. This was just Saturday, September 5th.
Starting point is 00:06:43 Yeah, and obviously that's Island. And somehow... And they put them in place, too, so it said, lonely and then Island. Well, there's one in between. There's an elk in between. Sure. And that's famously because Andy was a founding member of the Elks Club. Correct.
Starting point is 00:06:56 Well, I would say that Quaid Army is a modern-day Elks Club. Right. Definitely. And you often say that, and that's where he got it from. I do often say that. Yeah, you got Lonely Island right across the center. It's the middle clues, so they're just owning the whole board. Can I say something?
Starting point is 00:07:10 Because we've been sharing now the mini scores, and those guys are better than me. I know everyone knows that. But this is where there's a real drawback. They're not paying attention. They're sitting there. Like, they're going so quickly. Right. Whereas I'm sitting.
Starting point is 00:07:23 I'm like Ferdin and the Bull. You know what I mean? Just like in it. Yeah. And I feel like you guys are missing the fucking. You got it right away, Yoram, because you were so slow that you were like, ah, it's, it's an homage. Yeah, he was savoring it. Like, oh, what's coming next?
Starting point is 00:07:38 Well, it stood out to him because the only words he could figure out were lonely an island and the rest of the board was blank. I took it in. I took it. And I got elk too because of the Elks Club thing. Yes. Okay. Wait, we texted a lot about because then we were unsatisfied with the fact that those would be the only clues that were shadows. We realized the whole mini is actually us themed. You can break it down and figure out some connection. to us in every single one. Yeah. And I just want to tell the quads,
Starting point is 00:08:02 it was September 5th, 2026 mini, just if you want to find it. So 14 across is karate, clear nod to karate guy. Yep. One down is ACL, an obvious link to me tearing my ACL. I'm so sorry about that.
Starting point is 00:08:16 Although I believe it's an obvious shout-out to a closer look, my signature piece. I think it's a double whammy. Azerski will obviously clear this up for us at some point. Sam is good at what he does. And I pointed out that Austin City Limits is my favorite festival.
Starting point is 00:08:29 and I often talk about it. And so he might have been giving me a little. So it's a triple whammy. Yeah, yeah. Two down is Lou, which is what they call the bathroom in Foggy London Town, not our Fuggy London Town connection. Yeah. Three down is amnesia, what Yorm suffers from.
Starting point is 00:08:44 Oh, that's right. What do I? Because burrito brain didn't fit, so they had to make amnesia. Exactly. I still don't know what amnesia means. Common. Common appeared, of course, in a Blizzard man. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:08:56 Pretty clear cut. Smeller for nose by a nose by function is a nod to the fact that I've got a honker. Yeah. Big time honker. Seth, you pointed out that Dieter is actually Dieter. Deeter, right. From Sprockets.
Starting point is 00:09:11 From Sprockets. They just misspelled it? Or as Dratch calls it Sprockets chat. Probably. No, Sprockets Lady. Sprockets lady, right? We wish she'd call it Sprockets chat. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:24 What else we got? Yeah. There's any from any given Sunday, which we've all talked about, is all of our favorite film. Yep. All time. Big time. Oh, and Kolkata.
Starting point is 00:09:34 Yeah. Is where Keeve gets his poppers. That's right. That's what he texted. For a big night of going out. That's what he texted us. He doesn't just do him just any night. It's like where he's a big going out.
Starting point is 00:09:45 That's how he gets through a night shift. No, no. It's just for big nights. That's where I go. We have no choice but to take him at his word. You had night shoots all this week, right? Kiv, you were just like gacked out of your mind, right? Yeah, it was all poppers.
Starting point is 00:09:56 Yep. IDK was me and Yorm's first fake graffiti crew when we were like 11 and were horrible at it. Wasn't it, IDK? Yeah, I don't know. Inezerski knew that. Yeah, he knew that. The people would ask us what our crew name was and we'd be like, I don't know. Yeah, it was more of a joke to verbalize it.
Starting point is 00:10:10 It was always great for graffiti. There was a really nice thing in the comments where a lot of people, because you guys brought it up and then you looped back to the actual fact. And so for the 30 minutes, a lot of listeners did want a shout out that Wayne's World, the sketch debuted the day after. the movie Bill and Ted's. Because you guys kind of danced around and then you actually did do the official fact. So people were calling it out before they heard it. But it is, I mean,
Starting point is 00:10:36 one of the most seminal weekends, obviously. It is remarkable. Yeah, it's special. February 18th, 89. Can I just say something to those people? Because you got to slow down, guys. You got to slow down. Just enjoy the pod. Just enjoy the pod. Make a little note. Yeah, don't get all the answers. Leave some stuff blank
Starting point is 00:10:52 so you can notice things. Andy, your hawker's working. As Yoram always says, the purpose of the mini isn't getting all the squares. It's the journey of the words. It's the mouth feel as they roll into your brain. Oh, Yorm, my smeller is really noticing what you're throwing. I have an exercise, guys. 1989, Bill and Ted's, is the comedy film, right?
Starting point is 00:11:16 Right. Of that year. I want to ask this question. I'm going to put in a chat. I looked at this earlier. Wikipedia comedy films of the 90s, okay? Okay. I think it's pretty clear cut, which is the comedy film of each year.
Starting point is 00:11:30 Do you guys have the list over there? I'm opening it. Okay. 89 is very clearly Bill and Ted's. 92 is clearly Wayne's World. So 1990, look through, tell me when you guys have an answer. And I think it's, I don't quite know how to frame it, except that, like, if you know, you know, right? Like, there's one, for comedy people, it was the comedy movie.
Starting point is 00:11:49 Like, in order to understand comedy. There's a lot. It was definitely a time in my life where if something was people. PG-13, I saw it. Right. I think 1990 is an interesting one. Okay. I feel like I know what you're going to say, Seth.
Starting point is 00:12:03 I'm still looking, by the way. Okay, great. I'm trying to figure out if you think it's a, not a sarcastic. I'm going to say, I don't, by the way, I think that this is a weird year because I don't think there's one for, like, the comedy heads, but I think there's one for, like, the cultural heads. Are you guys ready? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:19 We'll go one, two, three. One, two, three. Gremlins two. The Gremlins two is where you guys went with? No, Home alone. I went with My Blue Heaven just because it was the, I don't know, that was the classy one that had our guys. It's Rick Moranis and Steve Martin where you were like, whoa, there's a Rick Moranis, Steve Martin. Yeah, but I feel like it's why I was genuine.
Starting point is 00:12:36 That movie didn't like resonate. No. It's not that. But none of these besides, I mean, Ernest goes to jail as I assume what you were going for. No, home alone is. Home alone. Even though Home Alone is like a kid's movie, like of those movies. That movie is all time.
Starting point is 00:12:50 Good one. And there wasn't, all right. So, all right. Wait, wait, wait. Can we say what our favorite one is, though? What's your favorite one? Because I definitely know it's men at work for me. I'm serious.
Starting point is 00:13:02 That movie's great. All right, hold on. 91's a no-brainer for me. Look at 91. I feel like 91 has a movie that has the fun of Bill and Ted's. There's a bunch of good ones here. I think it's, again, I think it's no time.
Starting point is 00:13:14 Once again, I think you guys think it's one, but that one doesn't do it for me personally. Really? I'm shocked. There's a bunch in here, though. All right. I'm interested here. I have a very clear choice.
Starting point is 00:13:28 But again, that's where all, we all have. I have my choice as well. Okay. So, Yorm, you go first. I got to go with Hot Shots. That was mine as well. Andy? I was going to say, Hot Shots are defending your life.
Starting point is 00:13:39 Oh, hot shots. Fucking classy. I mean, defending your life is like a great film. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I watched Hot Shots a thousand times, though. That's kind of what I guess. So, like, let's think of it. And I saw them both in the theater that year,
Starting point is 00:13:51 but I definitely, Hot Shots is the one that resonated. and Defending Your Life was a little above my pay grade. Yes. But by the way, there's great movies on here that I don't even really consider comedies. Right. But, like, what is the thousand-time comedy? Yeah, Hot Shots.
Starting point is 00:14:05 Okay, all right, fine. What I didn't realize to this moment is Naked Gun 2 and a half, and Hot Shots came out the same year. Yeah, it's amazing. All right, Wayne's World is 92. Go to 93. What is the thousand-time comedy movie from 1993?
Starting point is 00:14:18 Everybody talks about they don't make comedies anymore, but looking at all this, it's like, it's insane how much they don't. Oh, it's insane. Yeah, there were so many. I mean, the same year that Wayne's World came out, you got White Man Can't Jump, you have Strickly Ballroom, you have sneakers, you have... I think you have League of Their Own.
Starting point is 00:14:35 Sister Act. You have my cousin Vinnie. I mean, League of Their Own might be the best movie of that year. Mr. Baseball, Mr. Saturday Night, More Money, Mom and Dad Save the World, The Mighty Ducks. These are all comedies, even if, you know, some of the markets... Is Sleepless in Seattle? A comedy? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:51 Ladybugs. There's some classics. here. Honeymoon in Vegas. Honey, I blew up the kid. Homeload 2. And Cino Man, but this is just how many, the distinguished gentleman, this is just how death becomes her. It's nuts. Captain Ron. There's two like all-timers and I think there's one for me that is the Moore by Oways. In 93. Hold on. This time, here's what I'm going to do. I have a dry erase for it. I'm going to write my answer. Are you guys ready? Yep. Andy, you go first. A groundhog day. Keeve. Same. Your arm. Of course. Yeah. Now, you also have your Mrs.
Starting point is 00:15:23 doubtfire in there, which for a lot of people is in a similar category. For me, it's not, even though it is obviously wonderful. Robin Hood Men in Tites. We've got So I Married an Axe Mordaer. Which I also loved Ansaugh in the theater. Yeah. I mean, last action hero without the racism, right? A lot of people ride hard for Adam's family values. Yep, that one's great. All right, guys, do 94. I've got my answer written down. By the way, don't sleep on CB4. Don't sleep on it. There's some good shit in that. There's great. I mean, it was a great time. Oh, I don't even have to go past the second type. Oh, yeah. 94 is done.
Starting point is 00:15:56 I don't care what else came out. That's true. Absolutely. Absolutely. Ooh, drunken master, too. Sure. Cabin boys in here. Four weddings and a funeral.
Starting point is 00:16:06 Clerks. House party three. Wait. The mask came out the same year. Jesus. And, wait, no. The mask came out? You're in 94?
Starting point is 00:16:14 Yeah. So don't rush. Don't rush. Ed Wood. Pulpiction. Great comedy. Oh, no. Ninety four was lit as hell, dude.
Starting point is 00:16:23 One dude had the craziest year of all time Yeah Oh and silence of the hams came out Because I felt the same way Andy When I read the list And then I changed my answer I mean I'm giving you it I'm giving it away Yeah but that's fine
Starting point is 00:16:33 Yeah but we're just talking comedy here so Ooh true lies you know I'm a fan Everybody have there 94's Let's let's do this one of the same time Because it's all the same answer All right one two three Is Ventura a pet detective Oh yeah Seth went dumb and dumber
Starting point is 00:16:46 But he's wrong I'm dumb and dumber but he's wrong By the way I'm willing to admit I'm wrong But I saw dumb and dumber in the theater three times. I love Dumb and Dumber. Right. But Ace Ventura, Dumb and Dumber, and the mask came out in the same calendar year? That's fucking insane. That year was smoking. That year was smoking.
Starting point is 00:17:06 Such a good point. Very. My God. Every now and then, a lot of the quads are saying that the rest of us are missing a lot of sly Yorm comments. We're not missing them. Yeah, you're actively ignoring. No, sometimes the zoom overlaps and I don't hear him. No, yeah, that's true. All right, so 95. 95.
Starting point is 00:17:30 I'm done. This is. Yeah, it's in the bees. But it's interesting he was able to turn around when nature calls Ace Ventura 2 that fast as well. Yeah. Andy does say often when it's hot, it's pretty hot in these rhinos. Little hot in these rhinos. And I do still say it all the time.
Starting point is 00:17:50 All right. So obviously for us. There's some goodies. Yeah, we need to give some honorable mentions. Oh, my God. There's so many honorable mentions. But tell me when you're ready for your answer. Wait, wait, wait, wait.
Starting point is 00:18:00 But is this one personal to us? It doesn't necessarily mean it's the truth because... Well, I guess maybe that's what we're trying to get to the bottom of. It's like, for this group of people, what is the one movie? Well, for me, I have mine. Oh, yeah. Of course. Yeah, yeah, wait.
Starting point is 00:18:15 I think I got it. But by the way, it's close. All right. Take your time with these guys. that I really ingest. One, two, three. Billy Madison. Oh, wait.
Starting point is 00:18:24 I didn't see that one. Billy Madison. Oh, my God. Tommy Boy was the same year. Billy Madison. Billy Madison. I mean, Tommy Boy is any other year walks to the title. As does Friday.
Starting point is 00:18:33 Yeah, you're right. Oh, Jesus. Billy Madison is on here. Sorry. And for those that know, heavyweights. Yeah. That one's great. Just show that's my kids.
Starting point is 00:18:41 That's a lot of really good shit. Mallrats is in there. And then on the action tip, bad boys. And clueless. Big time. Right. And clueless. which is an all-timer.
Starting point is 00:18:51 Yeah, shit. Not to mention forget Paris. They're at a dinner, and then we keep flashing back and back to the dinner. It's the format. Has this run its course or should we do 1996? Let's pick this back up on another app. Great. Maybe we'll have time, but we'll have our answers ready.
Starting point is 00:19:05 Let's beat it into the ground later. As we're doing this, I can feel the quades complaining in the comments. Yeah. The Lonely Island and Seth Myers podcast is supported by article. Keith, what's your favorite article of clothing? Well, that's funny you ask because it's obviously pants, but Article actually does a curated range of mid-century modern, coastal, and Scandy-inspired furniture pieces that not only shine on their own but also pair seamlessly with nearly any other article product. This thoughtful design approach makes it incredibly easy to mix and match, helping you create a space that feels cohesive and stylish. Now, every time we do one of these ads, I just talk about the dresser, but this dresser I have is genuinely dope.
Starting point is 00:19:46 It is super heavy because it's real wood. It's not all particle and fake. And it has a great design, and I'm honestly super stoked on it. It's in my bedroom. And Yorm, you got something. You can just say it in the Zoom. It doesn't have been on your good mic. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:19:58 What was it that you got? I'm looking at it right now. It's fantastic. It's a little armory kind of thing that we put kids toys in. It's very organized and it's great. Quality without compromise. Article takes great care in curating its collection, focusing solely on high quality, meaningful pieces that will stand the test of time.
Starting point is 00:20:14 There's no filler. Every item is chosen for its craftsmanship, design, and lasting value. Do those words mean anything to you, Andy? I'll say. Okay. Well, we're going to do two tracks. Yeah, let's not call things that aren't songs. Japan is going to be chunky, but should we just knock out another...
Starting point is 00:21:20 What is... I'm sorry, I can't remember how do you... Classy skit? Classy skit. I'll show you, Seth, how it looks. Classy skit number two. Yeah, okay, great. Before we started, I will just say, so you guys, I want to talk about Watch Me, Do Me, but someone did know this was coming.
Starting point is 00:21:36 Say a question for Watch Me, Do Me, Classy Skit 2. Who came up with it? parentheses, definitely your right question mark. How was it recorded? Why, at least two out of three of you thought, yeah, this should be on our potentially platinum selling album. They're all three.
Starting point is 00:21:52 Yeah. It was all three. Nobody, there was no doubt about this one. No doubt. Yeah, we're all idiots. People said that a lot at the time. Especially T. Payne. Trent Paynevich, our dear bud.
Starting point is 00:22:02 It was in the culture being like... Yes, but the beginning... Okay, well, watch me do me. The beginning of karaoke by T. Payne, which is a fucking banger. He says it. A lot. And we were cranking that.
Starting point is 00:22:13 This is just another more literal take on it. Got it. Well, hang on. Should we play the beginning of karaoke? Yeah, go for, yeah. Dear God, let's make it happen. I'm trying to be you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:30 Watch me do me. Watch me do me. Watch me do me. Watch me do me. That is a goodie. Gangster. Love it. And then Yorm was all, guys, I had an idea.
Starting point is 00:22:50 I had an original idea, guys. So this is a Yorm as all, right? That's my recollection. Is that correct, Yorm? You were just 100%. Yeah. And then I think we got Drew, did Drew do the beat for us? I feel like he mocked this up for us, I think. That's not the question.
Starting point is 00:23:06 It was 100% your idea. Yeah, I'm trying to skip over that, Andy. Not everything needs to be sat with and ingested. I would always be the ones a little down on our figure. sketches. And then I remember Monty, the guy that runs Republic Records, being like, no, I love him. It's part of like, I forget how he put it, but essentially
Starting point is 00:23:23 the tapestry of one of these, it's just the fun of a hangout and you want those little goofy things, leave them in. Fully agree. And I was like, okay, this guy knows what he's doing. I really hope he said tapestry, and you didn't just pin that on him. I love, I love
Starting point is 00:23:39 that Keith had to be convinced by a professional. Not his two best friends. Okay. I'm fucking real. Can we listen? Can we listen to Watch Me do me? It's 27 seconds. Yeah, strapping.
Starting point is 00:23:49 Oh, shit, geez. Lonely Island. We're taking over. Yeah. Watch me to me. Watch me, watch me to me. Watch me do me. Watch me do me.
Starting point is 00:24:05 Don't look away. Watch me do me. Okay. Okay, watch me. Watch me do me. Okay. Oh, my message. Keep rushing.
Starting point is 00:24:14 Oh, no. God. I'm finished doing me. Okay. Can I just say something? Because this does remind me. There was a bit that I would do. I think at SNL when it started.
Starting point is 00:24:27 It would be great if you, when that finished, you said, can I just say something where he all collectively said, no. I just kind of want you to sit with it. We've lost that right. I want you to sit with it for a second. Yeah, yeah. You think about what you've done. I think if you say something right away, it will diminish what we're trying to accomplish her. Mick, you already made everyone stupider.
Starting point is 00:24:47 I would do this bit that Andy in particular really liked it, where I wouldn't be pretending to ejaculate. Oh, the trifecta. Yeah, the trifecta. It was me ejaculating, vomiting, and shitting into a trash can, basically. Like a little waste paper basket, and it would be like a little, oh no, oh no.
Starting point is 00:25:12 and Andy loved it I still love it I still can convince you to do it after a drink or two that doesn't take much But the best part about it is You know Yorm's physicality He starts acting like there's something happening inside his body That's making him spasm uncontrollably
Starting point is 00:25:29 I wish we had video on his palm Like his whole body starts vibrating It's happening You can picture it Now do you think Andy Have you ever thought it through, like, which one is the sort of first domino to fall? In terms of those three things? Depends on the day.
Starting point is 00:25:50 Well, Your, what order do you do them? And I was trying to remember this the other day because I'm 48. Oh, God, Andy, that's such a great question. You know, I feel like it's a little bit like taking a card out of Fred Armisen's wallet where, you know, like, every time it's different. Oh, okay. You don't know what's going to come out. It's a yes and with yourself. Surprising yourself.
Starting point is 00:26:07 Yeah. Yeah. I thought it was maybe ass first, then barf, then jizz. but anyway. You might be right. So watch me do me. Should we listen again? It's funny.
Starting point is 00:26:19 The only thing is it does, you know, and I'm already regretting the way I'm going to phrase this, it does kind of, you know, wash the bad taste of Falcour v. Atreou out of your mouth. That's my burn. I think you've stopped thinking about that at this point. I mean, I think we can all agree that both of them are great lead-ins to whatever song comes after because you're just like, oh, thank God. It's like Dave Chappelle's thing. You really downplay what's coming after.
Starting point is 00:26:45 So, you know, you're like, oh, your expectations are already on the floor. I think people probably want to know what the sounds were. I think that's you, Andy, I gotta say. I think it's the thing where you like pinch your cheek and... Yeah. Yeah, it's like a flapping. It's a bummer. That's not, by the way, there's a reason there's not video here.
Starting point is 00:27:01 That's not what Andy just did. Yes, it is. Let's not say things. It was old Bain Switch. He said, is it the old cheek thing? And then he did a different thing on camera. You're right that it is like just such a perfect setup for like the thing that comes next, Andy. It would be like if when you audition for S&L, the guy before you did Falcour versus trade.
Starting point is 00:27:23 Which I wish. I know. But you would definitely, watching Lauren react to that, you'd be thinking, oh, man, if I just keep this ball in bounds. Just don't die. Just don't die. And then, of course, cut to 10 years later. and Lauren's like, mad because you left the show, and he's like, we don't have anyone who can do Falcour versus Tray.
Starting point is 00:27:44 We're fucked. You completely changed his taste over a decade. Shoe, fuck. Yeah, but I mean, I think people get, watch me do me, and I'm kind of curious where that beat was going. Yeah, but I think that is Drew Campbell. It was a pretty fun intro. Do you think he cut it off there intentionally because you asked for just that?
Starting point is 00:28:02 I think we probably were like, we have like $200, like just don't do anything. We only need 10 seconds. We paid out of it. a pocket guys. That's how the record worked for us. I don't think that's true at all. Well, we got a stipend or whatever, whatever you call it, and then we spent it all on our housing.
Starting point is 00:28:19 Man, it's wild realizing you never knew what was happening. I have Akiva. You know, like, where am I going to fight? I'm going to do math. Akiva plays like couples therapists and he just gets quiet while you guys work out stuff. I just, there's no winning.
Starting point is 00:28:34 If I butt in and say something, they'll both gang up on me like a dad. Shut up. Shut my fuck up. That's not true. Here, say something and watch. We won't do that. I would just, well, you guys start, and I'll correct you guys.
Starting point is 00:28:47 Just normally. Okay. I mean, so, yeah, I did. It would have been nice if honey. Shut my God. Shut the fuck up. You fucking turd. We don't want you in here.
Starting point is 00:28:55 Just saying there's a budget and we all are on the calls, you guys could just pay attention and look at where the numbers are going and where the money's being spent. Oh, my God. We're so bored. They're going straight to the atmosphere. No, no, but thank you for doing that. Well, this is a great, by the way, a nice segue about budgets and labels and what you get paid to make music because that certainly ties in very nicely with Japan, where the idea come from. I think this is from the beat.
Starting point is 00:29:22 The beat inspired it. Oh, wow. This is a beat by this producer named T-minus. And it just came in the, you know, many, many that we would get sent from various A&Rs and publishing houses. Is that what you call them? No, publishing houses for books. Publishing companies. Oh, my God, I can't believe you don't know this.
Starting point is 00:29:37 It's so embarrassing. Hey, I knew it when I said it and heard myself. So you heard the beat? Because it's such a premisey idea. Yeah, just listen to the first few seconds. And I think we did exactly that. We were like in the room listening to it. And we were like, what is this?
Starting point is 00:29:54 And we're like, wow. Look at us. It's Japan. I think it all just stemmed from. Because that is how we brainstorm on some of these beats. When we don't have an idea. Somebody says something. We either have an idea and then go searching for the.
Starting point is 00:30:10 the beat that could fit the idea like, oh, I have an idea for a Drake song. Do we have any beats that sound like Drake songs? Or we go to a producer and say, hey, can you help us make a beat that sounds like a Drake song? Or when we're really out of ideas, we just flip through beats and see if something inspires. It's mostly that, dude. Come on. Well, that's the lazier one. So that's our more favorite. That's the better way. But it was, it really was that quickly. I don't know if we listened to it longer. I don't know how fast one of us did the wow. But that is when we clicked in and started fucking around with it. I mean, it's infectious.
Starting point is 00:30:43 And then I think probably one of us just said, I can't believe we're in Japan. Yeah. And then so you can't believe we were in Japan. And then how quickly do you take the next step, which is, let's make a song about a video that would be expensive for someone else to pay for. I think you then think of like,
Starting point is 00:30:56 well, you can't actually just do that. So what's the joke? Right. Sometimes just to get the ball rolling, we will record even an intro to the song that we think is funny. Like, just the, wow, here we are in Japan. and just the mic is right there.
Starting point is 00:31:11 We'll just say it into the mic, put some reverb on it, and so we can play it and kind of hear if it's sounding funny even just right away, I guess. Like when we were all recording over the writer's strike and wrote a lot of songs, we have lots that are like the first 20 seconds of something that could be something. And might be eventually someday. Should we listen to Japan? Yeah, let's start. I can't believe we're in Japan.
Starting point is 00:31:38 Look at all the whites, the food, the people. White friends in Japan. Japan. So we are, are we cool or are we, is it that we're, we're three cool white friends? Yeah, just flip it. But are we cool because we're friends? Just hitting you off of facts at the top.
Starting point is 00:32:00 I think we get into that. Okay. It is immediately, you know, in that way where a great screenwriting is like telling everybody who the character is right away. It's called Jerry Arts fan. I know exactly the lens I'm supposed to be listening. to this song through. Basically like
Starting point is 00:32:18 Huey Doey and Louie. And yes, I listen through lenses. Fucking asses. Yeah, one must. And one is you. Figure bit.
Starting point is 00:32:41 I like that we get a little eight tonal while we're explaining the prep. Yeah, yeah. Is that way you wrote up It's like a little... It's a little more premise than the road you have to do it. Yeah, the song doesn't want it.
Starting point is 00:32:53 No. It's actively trying to remove an access. But it's important, it's important and it's necessary. All right. So we wrote a song about the three of us in Japan and our label has to pay for it. Here we are at our five-star hotel. The one from lost in translation.
Starting point is 00:33:14 In Japan. The Pueu's. are amazing and they're champagne waiting because that's how we wrote it for the video. I always pictured this video just to be clear is that we wouldn't do it with any production value. So we really could live this where we would get like one or two camera people. Now it would just be on iPhone. Yes. And no lighting, no microphones because it's a music video.
Starting point is 00:33:53 So like minimal footprint where it really is like the three of us and two other people. So five people total. and then get a, like a tour guide group, like a high-end one that creates bespoke agendas, and just go, here is the list of all the things we need to do. And we're going to be there for five days. And as long as we get through everything that's on this list, our time is yours. You're just describing a vacation. Yes, but a well-structured one.
Starting point is 00:34:19 So just to clarify, you wanted to do it cheaply, but you wanted it to look good. I wanted the video to look like just be pure documentary. Like an Anthony Bourdain episode. Gotcha. Like not a polished music video where we're doing the lines and stuff. I mean, I think we could have also done the lines, but the video would be very clear in its style. That we spent their money to have a good time.
Starting point is 00:34:42 That we did it like an Anthony Bourdain episode. That we actually, it was expensive because it was first class tickets to Japan, these hotels, all the things we talk about. Because if we shot it like a real video, then we're there and it's work. Yeah. Because then you're lighting and you're shot listing. Then I'm not getting to do the vacations. And I think you could feel that as an audience.
Starting point is 00:35:01 You'd be like, you want to spend $100,000 on us. If it's polished and we're like, here's the champagne and we're in the hotel room and it's all lit like jizz in my pants, like a music video, that's not actually fun. Now we're just working. We had to go through hair and makeup. You know, there's nothing fun about that. I mean, it's fun, but not for this.
Starting point is 00:35:16 What I wanted this to be is truly we go on this Japan vacation and people just document it. Yeah. And we could do the lines, but it would feel, you know, homemade. What was that Drake video where he, like, handed out, a hundred thousand million dollars. Exactly. It was like a Blink 1282
Starting point is 00:35:32 where they took the video budget and handed it out to people. Wasn't that Blink 1282? That, but selfish. Yes. I like, Keeve, that you think that when people watch, you know, videos where there is people
Starting point is 00:35:42 enjoying excess, that the viewer is like, yeah, but that's work. Yeah. They're going to see the smiles on our faces and go, this is authentic. They're going to smell the authenticity. Like that sushi day, it's good. I love it.
Starting point is 00:35:54 Also, you guys are just so insufferable. Your voices are insufferable. and perfectly executed. So expensive. Who cares? Here we are at the most expensive sushi restaurant in Japan. And now we're at Tokyo Disneyland.
Starting point is 00:36:12 And now we're in Hawaii for one random shot that our label has to pay for. We're three cool white friends in Japan. But we are white. In Japan. So that clarified why we were commenting on that, we're white, but not white, but not that we're cool. Don't get tripped up on thinking the white and the friends part is, like, they're just tied
Starting point is 00:36:43 together. It's happenstance. Exactly. And it's just facts, and we're just letting you know what's happening. Are you saying it's not happening? Well, no, you're not, so you're saying it too. We're all saying it. A lot happening with these fellas.
Starting point is 00:36:56 Like, one, you know, they are, they're whites in a foreign country. Yeah. Kind of basic in their desires. But they're also a little, shits who are just fucking over their label. Yeah, they're little shits. They're just little shits. This tour guide in my fantasy was going to find the most expensive restaurant in Japan, sushi restaurant,
Starting point is 00:37:14 and be like, well, this is the most expensive. It's like $2,000 a person. And we'd be like, that's where we're going. Sign up. That's a good shot. One shot in Hawaii, just which we definitely would have done and then just been there for days hanging out. It's kind of on the way.
Starting point is 00:37:30 It's in the middle of the ocean there. You can, when you're in Hawaii, there's a lot of Japanese influence. you can feel dear. Could it ever actually get entertained? Wasn't Monty sort of into this idea? The aforementioned Monty said, let's do it. He was down. They would have paid for it.
Starting point is 00:37:43 And then what happened? We're idiots. But he also understood the idea of recoupment, though. Right, it goes against our own album recoupment. So they get the last laugh every time those sons of bitches. He kept saying it's not my money. It's yours. Let's do it.
Starting point is 00:37:56 Yeah, let's do it. You have to pay us back times six on every penny spent. So sure, guys. Go ahead. honestly he would have ultimately made money on it that is such a funny thing of album math of being like right but if they spend another hundred thousand dollars on a stupid Japan trip
Starting point is 00:38:12 and their album is successful and sells lots and lots of copies then they get to pay us that back sixfold but these guys probably don't know that I feel like these uses yeah no we weren't thinking about that we just thought it was rad and it would have been guys it's not too late it's not too late
Starting point is 00:38:30 we tell the wives we're so sorry it's work, we gotta go. It's work. And the good news is if it goes well, we lose money. There's zero percent chance it makes us any money and a hundred percent chance that it puts us back in the red on the album.
Starting point is 00:38:45 At this point in the video we'll be super drunk standing near some kind of dragon. And then we'll buy some stinky used girls' pennies out of one of those pervert bending machines. I like that we are becoming uglier and uglier Americans who haven't even... You didn't start likable, but now you're worse.
Starting point is 00:39:12 No, but now we're veering into disrespectful to the local culture as well. Just no research, just some kind of drag in, just the vagus interest. Well, we're drunk now, that's who. But that one line about the stinky girls' panties, I will say my kids love this song. And every time there's a little heart hiccup for me. When listening to me, like, ah, here he comes. And I do the thing where I, like, speak really loudly over certain parts where I'm like, hey, you guys speak to, you know, we should go to the park?
Starting point is 00:39:43 Yeah, I do that trick. But we walk it back. We acknowledge those are pervert vending machines. That's, I mean, sure, we're doing it as a joke. Yes, but we would have done it in the video. Absolutely. Yeah, we would have had to because that's what was in the song. Yeah, for the joke.
Starting point is 00:39:58 That's not our thing. No. Guys, no. Wait on the comments. We don't kink, shane. but that's not our kink. It just isn't our thing. It's just for the song.
Starting point is 00:40:07 We all have very specific kink. Yeah. We all have them. It's crazy. What are the odds three whites? Who aren't friends because of that, but our friends. Yeah. Would share a kink.
Starting point is 00:40:19 Would share a kink and it would be that one? Unless they, of course, met on a message board that celebrated said kink. Yes. And then made agreements to meet outside the message board, maybe in person. Right. For perhaps doing some sort of trades. Some sort of sex torrent. to Japan for the vending machines.
Starting point is 00:40:35 I don't know. Now, here's a question. We don't have those here. Does that mean it's more of a kink there? Or is it just like they lean into it more there and are more open about it? You know what I mean? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:47 Right. Have you identified a hole in the marketplace in the USA is what you're getting now? Look, I wouldn't even know where to begin because it's not something I'm into in the slightest. Nor is it ours as one collective. Andy, Shopify, the big purple button. It's a great way to start whatever business you want.
Starting point is 00:41:02 It leaves less carts empty. I think this is the wrong time. I don't know. That's what you can remember that well, Yoram? Jesus, really. You really commit to our ads, and I appreciate that. Thank you. Yeah, really nice.
Starting point is 00:41:16 Good memories for it. Yeah. Out of one of those pervert bending machines. Now you've seen two more wrestling lives. Unless we get dropped by our own three white douchebacks in Japan. It's all part of much needed R&R at the expense of you. I remember discussing we should say Universal Records, even though Republic Records is the real name.
Starting point is 00:41:49 They're part of UMG, Universal Music Group. But we were like, yeah, but if we say Republic Records, we were like, it just sounds bigger to say universal because everyone's heard of it. Yeah. What recession? Is that what you said, Your Honor? What recession?
Starting point is 00:41:59 Yeah, dude, hitting that Stewie line, that Stewie shirt. That was off of just two guys, right? When we bought the shirt at Kmart that said, stewie saying, what, recession? Yeah, yeah. So we banked that one for a later day. What would it sound like if Stewie said it, though? What rescission?
Starting point is 00:42:15 Is he talking like that? Yeah, it was really good. It was better than I thought it was going to be. Initially, there was a pause that made me think, he don't got a Stewie. Well, I wanted to take my time with it. You want to do you coming in to read for live action family guy? Yes, and what would you like me to read?
Starting point is 00:42:32 No, okay, forget it. We have a bit we've done on this podcast, maybe 700 times. Move on. Okay, we'll move on. York thinks he's coming into auditioning. He's Stewie. He literally doesn't know where he is. All right, so do Stewie auditioning for Elvis.
Starting point is 00:42:49 But then you got to do the bit where you realize you're bad and you let yourself out. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Stewie has to realize he's bad. Hi there, Baz Luhrmann, a big fan of family guy, so happy here. We're down to a couple finals, but we're Seth McFarlane, we're very happy to have you here. Yeah, I'm going to be doing Stewie, and this is... Dewey reading. He's going to be singing a song from the guy, Elvis,
Starting point is 00:43:14 and this is a blue suede shoes. So hold on to your hats. Okay. I just put on my blue sweatsh shoes. And then this is the part where I thrust my pelvis back and forth like this. I'll just go. I didn't do the end part very well. I actually didn't notice that you kind of have overlap in your tone of voice with Seth.
Starting point is 00:43:37 You mean that my normal voice? Seth McFarland. I was like, you kind of sound like Seth McFarland in that moment, too. How was the Stewie, though? You know, being honest, you guys, was that right?
Starting point is 00:43:45 It was there. It was there. Thank you. Thank you. No one would ever have thought it was something else. Yeah. It helped that we kept saying Stewie. Guys,
Starting point is 00:43:55 let's keep this civil. Let's keep it normal. Oh, no, the therapist has spoken up. You know, when the therapist chips in, things are getting ugly. I was setting you guys up to be like, fuck you, fuck you! Get off me, Keith!
Starting point is 00:44:06 Get off my brain! Wait, we still have more of the song Japan, you guys. My favorite part of the song. You know what's funny? I could feel us needing to telegraph that we know the joke with the word douchebags, and I kind of didn't need it. Same. I had the same thought.
Starting point is 00:44:23 I felt judgmental. Yeah, it was in there. Like, that's the fun of these guys, their characters. No one thinks it's us. We don't need to have them become self-aware. If I was going to change one thing, it would be that. It's self-evident. Also, saying cool, white friends, is that it's redundant to say the douchebacks.
Starting point is 00:44:38 Yeah, we understand it. Also, they would never call themselves that. That's what I'm saying. It's breaking the world. Yeah. It's breaking the rules of the characters. Obviously, white friends are cool. That's what I thought you were saying.
Starting point is 00:44:48 Well, with your underlying political beliefs, I kind of thought that's where. Well, I feel like now that we're great again. Right. I don't need to say that anymore. Oh, my God. Take us home, Keeb. Now we've seen two more wrestling lives. Oh, unless we get dropped.
Starting point is 00:45:06 Three white douchebags in Japan. Backtime. It's all part of our master plan to get some much needed R&R at the expense of Universal Records. I love what the beat is doing there. Look at all this Japanese money. It's called yen. Let's dump it in the river. Moshe, Moshi, Moshi.
Starting point is 00:45:29 Guys, it's the label this video. Okay, Keev, I have a question. Since we're doing this lo-fi, right, doc style, right? Like, Blink 182 or whatever. How are we doing the old guy in the river? Well, I think we still have like... That's your concern? The rental car was the thing I thought you were going to say.
Starting point is 00:46:03 Yeah, the old guy's fine. We're not really doing it. They'd get us a stunt person and dress a bubble. You just find an old man. That's what I keep saying. You're doing them a favor. They don't have a life anymore. You either do a stunt person or like an obvious dummy.
Starting point is 00:46:17 We would hire like a Japanese production company to help facilitate because they have to get us the camera guys. Slipper slope. That's a slippery slope into work. I got to say. I don't know. But a car, a full car into the river. Yeah, they get some old car that doesn't work anymore. It's just a shell of it and it's in neutral and we just push it on into that river.
Starting point is 00:46:35 But you do a – I mean, it's going to cost much. I'm not saying it's going to be cheap. You just push it on into that river. And then they bring it a crane and they take it out. The crane is expensive. It's not about saving money. It's about our enjoyment. I just want us to be able to pull up in a black car, hop out.
Starting point is 00:46:51 They go, there's the car, push it in. And we go, yep, here we go. But I'm saying, work around. And then we leave. Work around. We, as if we're pushing it, we push, right? and then body doubles, B-camp. Like, that's a whole B-shoot we're not even involved in.
Starting point is 00:47:05 I mean, I hate to tell you guys the way to do this, but clearly what you want to do is you want to rent a car from an old guy. You push the car in. Oh, right, right. Have the same guy. And then you keep the camera rolling, and he's like, what are you doing? And then you just push him in two shots. That's great.
Starting point is 00:47:17 See? You could have come with us. Yeah. I would love it. Yeah. I would love it if you guys ever invited me. Fucking anywhere. I really like Japan a lot, guys.
Starting point is 00:47:25 Thanks, Seth. And totally, it's completely different from anything on the album, which is really fun and cool. You can say that again. Yeah. I don't know how exactly to say this. Totally to me, Japan feels very Kivinyur. Like the same way just two guys does for me,
Starting point is 00:47:39 where I'm like, I think maybe because it's even like kind of similar to, why did you just write fuck you on the screen at Kiva? I'd just seen if I could. Oh, great. Like, we've talked about this a long time ago, like when we were in high school and they did they're like on their little boombox skit of them talking over the Wu-Tang skit where they're like, oh, no, not Shahim. Like, it's like their comedic tone.
Starting point is 00:48:03 Yeah. It's something that has always made me laugh ever since I've known them, and it's very funny. Are you saying that we're irritating, sort of? No, like, you guys have a tone that I didn't have in my comedy until I met you, is what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:48:17 It's also very fun. You guys are so effective as going very hard, like the comedy being, like, going hard in a sort of contrast to, like, the way you look and the way you're often presented on camera. So this one's very fun, too, because it's just such a right turn from... It's the opposite of trouble on Duky Island in terms of our posture.
Starting point is 00:48:37 It's quite soft. Yeah. Something's always a little off, though. I'll tell you that much with these guys. Seth, we can be femme. Very progressive. We're very progressive. Somebody referred to you. Have we talked about the Threadators?
Starting point is 00:48:50 That's what everybody said last week as well. It was an episode with the Three Adores. Yeah, three Adores. Three Theodores. I scan through the YouTube comments, and Andy, a lot of people thought, we texted about this, a lot of people thought it was me and Yorm on Trouble on Dooky Island. That's right. Really?
Starting point is 00:49:09 Really? Yes. Because Andy, as he pointed out, he's a little out of his normal range on it because he's doing a screechy high guy. Keeve is usually in the Ad Rock Upper Register. Correct. Yeah. And he's going in that thing. Now, it sounds, obviously, to my ear, I know it's you, for every single part of it,
Starting point is 00:49:26 it sounds like you. Yeah. But I can understand that people that don't hear our voices as often wouldn't have known that. Yeah. But they listen to this pod, though, you know? Yeah, but for years, you know, this is an older album. Also, though, I would argue probably there's lots of people who listen to the pod who can't 100% tell us apart all the time. Well, I'm Andy.
Starting point is 00:49:45 Don't do that. Seth, could you tell who it was on the song? I did. I could tell. Yeah. Okay. Anyway, for everyone out there who thought it was Keeve and not me, in your face, I'm good too.
Starting point is 00:49:59 Aww. I can do things too. Is that what this is about? Andy, is that what this has been about? I can be high guy. I can be the high guy. We always thought you could be the high guy. You proved that.
Starting point is 00:50:11 Yeah, it's hard to listen to a little, though. So I think maybe it's not something we ever did again, but I can do it. You sound good on it. Thank you, Akiva. I love you. Love you, too, buddy. Leads to the compliment. Guys, got an email from Eric Kripke.
Starting point is 00:50:25 I hope that's how you say your name, Eric. He created the boys. Yeah, Eric. I know, Eric. Fan of the pod. Quaid Army, he wrote me. Actually, he's in two quade armies because he works. Yeah, with Quaid O.
Starting point is 00:50:38 With Jack Quake. Oh, right, of course. Double Quaid Army. Yeah, right. He did write this, and I do, I think part of it is he wanted to share it, because he understands he's submitting a fan lyric to the pod, and, like, you guys, judge him as you see fit. I would never do that, Tim.
Starting point is 00:50:53 And, first of all, Eric, thank you for the kind words. Also, congratulations. on the boys. Yeah, thank you for your shows. Frigin' dope. Thank you for your shows. Incredible work. And thank you for, you know, again,
Starting point is 00:51:03 anybody who uses Quedo to such good results. We're a fan of yours as well. Every time I hear the song, Jizz in my pants, I silently sing to myself an alternate lyric. I'm sure it's lame, but I need to get it out of my head,
Starting point is 00:51:14 so I figured I mentioned it so the guys can properly ridicule it. Here's my fan lyric, I suppose, toward the end of the song. I jizz right in my pants when your body's close to mine. You say I'm premature.
Starting point is 00:51:24 I say I'm right on time. So he's just like hearing that He's just like I think he's just kind of like Choosing to like It might be like the Mandela effect Like maybe even he just thinks that's a lyric And it's not Yeah right
Starting point is 00:51:36 It's not bad That could have been the alternate lyric Yeah I don't think there's anything wrong with that lyric You know there's a lot of thou doth protest In this song I think that Maybe it crosses over into Not protesting as much I don't know
Starting point is 00:51:48 What is it? It's when we're holding hands It's like having sex to me? Ecstasy? Isn't it ecstasy and sex to me or something? Oh you say I'm premature I just call it ecstasy Yes
Starting point is 00:51:56 Yeah, six and when we're holding hands, it's like having section. You're right. Lateral. At least lateral. It's lateral. So congratulations on receiving the highest grade possible, Eric. Lateral. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:10 If you were in the room, you probably could have a-plus. And you're lateral. You're still in a-plus. No, exactly. I mean, look, it's criterion. You didn't make a criterion song, any words. Jack Black. Spelling B.
Starting point is 00:52:26 Spelling D. Ugh. Yeah. Sorry, bud. I knew, too. You already told me, and I mean, I hate having to do it. I bailed one short.
Starting point is 00:52:44 And do you, I mean, I'm not going to get it. But are you kicking yourself? Yeah, because it was bodega. Oh, yeah, I should have got that. Been gone from New York too long. That's not English, is it? Akeva. How dare you?
Starting point is 00:52:56 But do they put non-English words? Do they put French words? Such a Yorm. What's a Yorm? Come to New York and say that, Keith. Oh, Yoram's got a key. Come to New York and say that. See you in the octagon, Keith.
Starting point is 00:53:08 I like my spelling bee's American. Un-fucking believable. Oh my God, he's chanting build a wall. Too French. Yeah, I'm far out. It's a bummer. I mean, now I'm going to get it because you gave me a bodega. And I didn't, you know, that's not on me if I overhear it.
Starting point is 00:53:24 I'm just in the world I hear bodega. Like what? Now I've got to not use it in spelling bee. Wait. No, that's like inside a training. That's not. That's not. He didn't have to tell me.
Starting point is 00:53:33 He didn't. He should ask me if I was done. I'm not done. Now I get a bodega. You said that you were tripping about me saying it. You said it. Whatever. I just put it in.
Starting point is 00:53:42 I got it. You know what? Great. Enjoyed. I'm still 17 away. Wait, Andy, when you say you bailed one short, that means you gave up, like a chunk? It means I got every word. I got to a certain point where I was five short.
Starting point is 00:53:58 Then I used four hints. Yeah. And so it would have been a five. It wouldn't have been clean anyway. And then your wife starts screaming, why are you doing this to us? And then you're like, fine. And I'm like, get off my back.
Starting point is 00:54:09 I'm one away. We have nothing. I have nothing but this. She comes running after me with the rolling pin. Classic. She's like, all day I make you pie. All day I make you pie and this is my thing. And you're on that infernal machine.
Starting point is 00:54:28 You have a pie with every meal. What part of me? Me being the real world, Andy Cap, don't people get? Couldn't you think Andy Caps went out of circulation? A lot of people get that ref.
Starting point is 00:54:40 Two P's. Two P's. Andy Cap. Look it up, guys. When did Andy Cap go to circulate? There, by the way, there's a great chance it's still in circulation.
Starting point is 00:54:48 And I was going to say, you know, all of our circulation, I remember. Andy Cap, last strip, was, has not ended. Great. It has to have handed off.
Starting point is 00:54:59 Who does it, I assume? Yeah. Reg Smyth, Reg Smith, died in 1998, but they've been good. They've continued? Yeah. I bet it's woke now, though. It's a little woke now. He's like, he drinks water now, probably.
Starting point is 00:55:11 Now he burns the casserole. Yeah, totally. I can't stand it. While drinking NABs. He does a lot of nabs. All right, guys. Well, that was a delight. How many two more songs on Turnleck and Chain than are not SNL videos got after party?
Starting point is 00:55:30 with Santi. And we've got No Homo. And I think that that's kind of it. And we also got a lot of comments about how people liked that we were doing really deep dives on one song from the album instead of blowing through it. We're trying to slow it down on purpose here. Yeah. But I also think there might be some doubling back where we could go look for some that we did just kind of maybe a little quick. Sure.
Starting point is 00:55:54 Freeze over and actually kind of get into it. Hit us in the Titus. Anything that we needed to deeper dive on? Yeah. And hit us in the titus. Anything we missed on Japan? From incredible. And I think that this is a nice reminder for everyone out there.
Starting point is 00:56:09 To just slow things down. Slow things down. Just a bit. It's so hectic. So things down so much that you say them slower in a way that's like you see it coming for a long time. Not just for your album enjoyment, but for your crosswords. Right. Is what Yorm's getting out.
Starting point is 00:56:25 Yorbs always said, finishing, as far as importance, finishing it is of the many It's important. Races are not about finishing them ever. Interesting. And also, Yorm is like, you know what? It should never happen between friends. There should be no crosswords. We shouldn't even text about it.
Starting point is 00:56:43 We don't have to always text our scores. Sometimes that can be internal. Yeah, we can keep those times to ourselves because the journey is with yourself. You know what I mean? You're only competing against yourself. We should make a little schedule for when, because I want to make sure one of the four of us is taking it to the streets, taking Dratch's name to the streets, pretty much nonstop for the next week about this church chat shit. I know.
Starting point is 00:57:06 So let's just make sure we're out there in the streets. We should probably get her to defend herself. Yeah. You know, sometimes people yell things during Rocky Horror. Yeah. You'd go buy tickets to her show and just yell that. Can I, hey, I'm here to audition for Rachel Dratch explaining why she said church lady instead church chef. Oh, we're closed actually, Seth.
Starting point is 00:57:24 No. No. That's not how this works. Not how. Yes. It's real. Not yes anding. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:57:31 You can go ahead. Yeah, good to see you, Rachel. Oh, what did I? They told me. Let's see how much that aligns with what she says. Yeah. I know. Will you get a voice note from her?
Starting point is 00:57:53 I, by the way, when we text about it, I'm just going to also, while we're talking to our MIT, we're game people. I got first, last name. I got Seth Myers in the crossword. last week. Yeah, that was a nice one. Really sweet. September 1st, just, you know, peace and love to everybody over there.
Starting point is 00:58:08 It was a big deal. Can I shout out Michael Hoffen, who I just hung out with for the first time? Michael is a New York Times game enthusiast because he works there, and he started listening to... Is he an enthusiast or does he work there? No, he's both. He's both.
Starting point is 00:58:23 Wait, does he work for New York Times games, or does he work for the New York Times? He works for New York Times games for the New York Times. It's the same umbrella. So, like, how we're comedy enthusiasts by way of it being our job. I am. I know I am. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:38 Anyway. I mean, we are. It's true. Oh, my God. Anyway. Our kids hung out in the park recently, and he told me that he started listening to the pod because people at New York Times games were like, hey, you got to check this out. My man, Yorm, don't know how to talk. My man, Jorm, don't know how to talk.
Starting point is 00:58:56 He's a good guy out. He don't know how to talk. He don't know how to talk. I'm just getting Zen with all of this. I just want all of you guys. By the way, I was saying, like, obviously Seth Myers finds this way in the crossword because all my letters are good letters. Right.
Starting point is 00:59:08 And I was just thinking, like, how fucking hard a crossword puzzle would have to be to need to use like Akeva Schaffer? Yeah. Fucking Yormit Taconi. Like, there's no day of the week that's hard enough. Just the two F alone. I bet they can't get it in there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:23 Jay. You may be, Andy. They would need to put in some work, but it's possible. But there's no, never in a million years. But don't put it past. Because they are winter soldiering us now. They are winter soldiering us. We're also, me and you're not famous.
Starting point is 00:59:37 Do you think that has to do it that we have shitty names? Oh. May shitty? Probably. With bad letters, full of bad letters. Oh, my God. I mean, even in fucking Finland, my name means giant penis. So, I mean, you know, fucking, like, not even there.
Starting point is 00:59:53 My middle name is Daniel, and I often think I should have, the moment we got us in L. called me Akiva Daniel. Oh. And then that was. It's interesting that you weren't going to drop the Akiva. No, I think Akiva's cool and memorable. The Chaffer that turns out of the gobbly cook. Who cares?
Starting point is 01:00:08 Akiva's a great name, and it doesn't mean giant penis. No. It means tiny penis, right? Yeah. Like invisible almost. The old school kind of way, though. A lot of Finnish girls will sort of be like, I'm not looking for a yarmour, but bigger than Akiva.
Starting point is 01:00:27 I like it to keep a simple, you know. So right between the Kiva. Keep a too not. Okay. Oh, no, you're all for me tonight. That's not how they talk. That's what you said. Oh, sure, now that we're rolling, that's not how they talk.
Starting point is 01:00:40 All right, love you guys. All right. Love you. Love you. Love you guys. Later, Arnold. Later, Quades. Later, Stewie.
Starting point is 01:00:46 What recession? Later, Seth MacFarlan? Later, Quades.
