Starting point is 00:00:00 It's the Luca Peach. You're welcome to it. I'm in the land of the stones. All right, yeah, we are running together, both of our records. Oh, sorry, I thought that thing was to start on the next one. No, no, no, no. You just went straight through. Oh, she went straight through.
Starting point is 00:00:18 Yeah, a boy was taking a drug cigarette in my house in Leicester. Was he partaking at the herbaceous clippings? Bit of the devil's lettuce, was it? A bit of the devil's lettuce. And he went, oh, man, I'm in the land of the stones. I was like, I'll get out my fucking house. What does it mean? I don't know,
Starting point is 00:00:37 he's just one of those kind of weedy characters. Is this your way of showing off as a sudden that you were so caught at university, people used to smoke weed in my house? Not very, no, not very often. That's why I was like, get out. When I was at, you did the first time, my first day in halls,
Starting point is 00:00:51 I had to share a room. Share a room, how American. I know, and it was someone I didn't know as well. He turned up to be fine. Which is more than he could probably say about me. You can't see the wanker in the room. Yeah, exactly. I did you puttick? Yeah. Well, no, I'll tell you, and I, um, I was just, you know, it was obviously first day there, first night there, so obviously a few people just got
Starting point is 00:01:15 together and went to the pub, which seemed like, you know, always got a sensible thing to do, so obviously I went, had a few beers and all that kind of stuff, and then got back to my room, and shortly after I got back to my room, there was a knock at the door, and it was a guy who had that room the year before me. Right. And he said, I left you a present, reach under the desk, but there was like a little ledge. And I reached under there, and there was a nicely rolled bifter. Oh, come on now. I remember sitting out the back of the dorm with a couple of the lads.
Starting point is 00:01:44 Having a bifter? Yeah. Did you have that much experience with the bifterage before? At that point, yeah, it was not bad. Not bad. I wouldn't say I was a seasoned bifterman. I was on probably nodding terms. A merchant bifterman.
Starting point is 00:01:59 I, yeah. But I mean, you shouldn't do drugs. bad for you. No. I would have to be honest, that's what happened. I didn't inhale, so I can still be president.
Starting point is 00:02:09 Well, it's legal in the US now, so that sounds very quaint, doesn't it? Very quiet, indeed, yeah, exactly. Yes, what was going to say? So,
Starting point is 00:02:18 you weren't partaking of the herbaceous clippings at uni yourself? No, second year, I had a little bit of resin in some fudge. That fucked me up. And that was the only good experience
Starting point is 00:02:30 I've ever had with weed. You don't want to be, you don't want to be eating that. That is by far the worst thing. You do not want to be eating hash cookies. It's fucking horrible. But what if you can't smoke? Because you're asthma?
Starting point is 00:02:42 Because you're my asthma. I think you've probably got bad asthma because you didn't smoke weed. It's a good point actually. Yeah. They do say that we'd... I might got us some of those gummies not long ago. CBD ones? No, like full...
Starting point is 00:02:53 Oh, proper ones, yeah. And they're sort of styled in the like, you know, it looks like a wambar sort of thing. And I had maybe 10% of one. And I was like, I'm not doing this again. It's horrible. Absolutely rancis. It's not great.
Starting point is 00:03:04 I think maybe just affects people differently. I've got a friend who gets all that stuff, the gummies, the resin, all that kind of stuff, delivered by Post. Yeah. Through Royal Mail. Yeah. And he knows someone at the Post sorting depot. Right.
Starting point is 00:03:20 That always makes sure it's okay. Well, they're not actually checking them thing, aren't they? I don't know. It's what he says. They said, it's the Mitch Headberg joke. I love my UPS driver. He's my drug dealer. He doesn't even know.
Starting point is 00:03:30 or something like that. Is that how Mitch Headberg talks? It's hard to act like this, isn't he? There's a guy who's ripping off Mitch Headberg's act, isn't there? Is there? If you've not seen it? No? It's absolutely outrageous.
Starting point is 00:03:41 It is outrageous. What is it? I'll play it to it. There's a guy who is a modern comedian. Right. And he's doing a Mitch Headberg act. And he claims he's just, he's like, it's just how he's like.
Starting point is 00:03:54 He's called Keegan Carmichael. Right. I'm going to show you it. I'll show you now. You will not believe it. Are you on nodding terms with me? Mitch Headberg? Yes.
Starting point is 00:04:01 And you enjoy his work personally. King and Car Michael is on. Oh my God. Yeah, he's just fucking, yeah, he looks like He talks exactly like him. Right. And he,
Starting point is 00:04:10 and he sounds exactly like him and he looks exactly like him. Let's have a listen. And, um... Come on, computer. Anything you would have changed. If you could do your minute over, is there anything you would have changed?
Starting point is 00:04:26 Or your interview. The thing about the interview, the people are like mad at me for, um... Oh my God. Fuck you, man. Yeah, but he claims it like... He claims some outrageous stuff and like he didn't even know
Starting point is 00:04:38 who Mitch Hebbug was or something like that. It takes some brass balls to do that. His jacket is like a Mitch Headberg. He dresses like him as well, yeah. He looks like a sort of cut, the main kind of character. And he's like... His main sort of climate of him
Starting point is 00:04:49 seems to be he did kill Tony. Aren't they deeply problematic? Kill Tony, yeah, just set of absolute wankers. Tell me about them? I don't know who they are. It is Tony... Oh, fuck, I can't know what I'm in him about it. Oh, you were talking to me about it.
Starting point is 00:05:02 in before, weren't you? Yeah, he did a... Tony Hinchcliffe. He did a special it was just devoid of anything. That's right.
Starting point is 00:05:08 He did the roast of W.E. and just did a lot of racist stuff which W.E. sanctioned and then brought him back again the year after.
Starting point is 00:05:13 But yeah, Kiltoni's basically like a... It's like a little talent show, I think, where people come up and do a minute and the rest of the time
Starting point is 00:05:20 just people just are misogynistic to women and xenophobic and racist and that's the whole thing. And Kiltonies is kind of like a cat who sort of talks like this.
Starting point is 00:05:31 Right. I'm not saying I wouldn't be I wouldn't be particularly kind of nodded you about this type of this format but I thought it was that roasting and stuff was like anything goes that's the point of it so you can say whatever you want that's the point yeah I don't think that's it I don't think it's a roast I think he does roasts but I think the kill toney
Starting point is 00:05:48 stuff is just like a sort of talent show I mean it's it's just abhorrent stuff it's all it's all the Austin lot in it what Rogan Rogan Theo Varner and Shane Gillis Shane Gillis gets out of it doesn't he It gets out of it, yeah. Does Bill Burr get out of it as well?
Starting point is 00:06:04 What do you mean? Bill Burr... I don't think Bill Burr does the Austiny sort of stuff but then he does the Read stuff so... I like Bill Burr though, he's funny. Yeah, I know. But will people be cancelled for luck in Bill Burr?
Starting point is 00:06:17 No, I don't think so. I'm trying to get with some cancelled. Can I do it that way? Do it that way? Seems like a pretty safe way of getting cancelled. Oh, we talked about comments last week and... Oh yeah, how's your Reddit mental health? I've not, I must have been on from my on.
Starting point is 00:06:29 As I said, it got me at the wrong time, wrong time of the day, hung over, didn't have a good time. But people have been really nasty ever since. It was very clever what you've done. Very, very, yeah, very calculated of me. One comment on, I think, a ramble remote record with Vish.
Starting point is 00:06:45 I bet Pete's fucking stinks. And you know what? Bander rights on that one. What, you got potty training, you've got a 30 year old infirm female dog that peas when she's in season. And your, your personal hygiene is poor. My personal hygiene is poor. I just cannot, bins are always overflowing.
Starting point is 00:07:05 We consume a lot. Yeah. How bad does your house stink out of ten? I know I'm the stinky stinker's. I know our neighbour's going and go, fucking, who can live like this? Who can fucking live like this? No, but joke at the side. All the sofers are just got mystery fucking stains on. I keep washing them, but it's like the fourth fucking bridge. You've got a toddler? I don't know, man. It's definitely a stinky house. Definitely a stinky house. The other day, I saw a load of crayon marks all over the wall. It's Noel, isn't it? I said to my wife,
Starting point is 00:07:39 have you been crating on the wall? Is that the boy? She said, no, it wasn't him. It was the kid who lived there before. I don't remember seeing this when we moved in. Oh, give it away. And then the carpets, and we quite simply cannot afford to replace them at this point,
Starting point is 00:07:53 all over the house, the carpets are covered in stains. Just terrible. You can see, like, where the people who lived there before had the bed and there's a coffee stain all down one side of the carpet down the by the bed it's just how it is and to be honest
Starting point is 00:08:07 because the listeners to this show but other shows as well will not put their hands in their pockets and anywhere near enough big enough numbers I can't afford to recarp at the house I can't afford to buy a fucking Febrez either by the sound of it well yeah I mean
Starting point is 00:08:20 Sarah does love a bit of Febrize but for me I know the stinks there doing a lot of heavy lifting there's a lot of red diffusers a lot of candles doing a lot of heavy lifting but I just feel like I just know where the stinky neighbors It's like putting a plaster on a broken arm, is it is.
Starting point is 00:08:33 A joke on the side though, your personal hygiene is very good in my experience. I'm wearing the same t-shirt that I wore last night. But you always, okay, poor example. Today's a bad day to be bringing this up. Today's a bad day. But you do generally smell very nice. Right, okay. Bruno would you go along with that?
Starting point is 00:08:49 Yeah, he would. It's not. I appreciate it. I don't think it's you that's the problem. No. So maybe people would review my house favorably. What about the downstairs toilet? It's full of wood. Does that smell?
Starting point is 00:09:00 The downstairs toilet is... Oh, in the cabin? No, that's been cleaned up. I thought I had some shelves recently. I was very pleased with a bit of... Oh, by the way. I walk past them, I go. Nice.
Starting point is 00:09:09 They're not going to fall through. Nice. I got a little bit of an update. Right. You know the Deatomacious Earth? Oh, yeah. Only bloody worked, didn't it? Did it work?
Starting point is 00:09:16 Yeah. I tell you what? Someone road testing something. Great. They know what they're talking about. So the diatomacious Earth powder through all the holes in the floorboards. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:26 A little bit of acrylic sealant between the floorboards and the skirting board slugs, bang, and the slugs are gone. So do they die? Do they know? Don't care. Next. Could I put it in my garden, do you think?
Starting point is 00:09:38 Because it's just, you know, we're heading into a big heavy. I don't know if it's pet safe. Oh, right. I think it is pet. The reason it's pet safe for us because we're putting it down the floorboards. Yeah. So the two cats weren't going to get affected by it. I don't think it's particularly toxic.
Starting point is 00:09:54 You want to check it out. But I don't know if you can put it in the garden. You may be care. All it is, Pete, is crushed up diatoms and coral and... That's silica, natural silica and tiny fossils. Yeah, I think dogs would probably eat that. But every single time I speak to a dog owner, it feels like I hear a new thing that a dog can't eat.
Starting point is 00:10:15 Yeah. It's never ending. I had, for the first time the day, I had raisins. I told you that about that. Because I had to take Lola, the pissing dog, to the hospital to get her stomach pumped, of which they could not find a single raisin. So that was a waste of 250 quid,
Starting point is 00:10:31 not 400 quid. Why did you, why did you suspect she had eaten said raisins? Because I had dropped some rum and raisin ice cream at her feet and it disappeared. So maybe there's no actual raisin. Maybe that bit of a, poor quality product.
Starting point is 00:10:43 Maybe there wasn't enough raisins. Yeah, exactly, yeah. Just flavouring. Just flies. Just flies. So yeah, what are you going to do to get your house to not stink to satisfy that YouTube commenter?
Starting point is 00:10:54 Oh, they'll never be satisfied. I think we all know that, but I just, um, I like that um, I give off that vibe a chaotic, stinky man. It's just a horrible thing to write about someone online, isn't it? Did it affect you? I don't mind that.
Starting point is 00:11:06 Did it affect you? It's the ones that are true. I don't like you. Did it affect you? It didn't affect me, no, but it made me laugh. Um, oh, food grade, diatomaceous earth is generally saving dog friendly for pest control when you use correctly. What if you, what was it used incorrectly?
Starting point is 00:11:20 Stuffed down a blunderboss. Shuffed in your eyeballs. Throw it around. I'm drawing that. For other comments that people have said about you and Vish? Oh, I don't know. I just, um... I like it.
Starting point is 00:11:31 I like it. But they sort of flip-flap, sometimes they don't like me, something's not like you, something's not like Marcus. Well, no, actually, they always like Marcus.
Starting point is 00:11:37 They never liked me. Despite... Which is mad, isn't it? Because Marcus is, by any measure, the worst one. But Marcus is the host, though. He's the sort of thing that we all sort of go through. But even like the,
Starting point is 00:11:50 you know, the references to the 90s and stuff, which I have told him a mom because I can't understand. So that bit again, I wasn't listening. I was just reading about someone complaining about you. What did you say? I'm just saying that Marcus, I don't like the 90s references, Marcus.
Starting point is 00:12:06 Marcus needs to update his references. No, I don't think he does. I think it's very, I find it very... As long as you could put, you know, stick the boot in. Endering. Yeah. He was doing Labyrinth today. Did a long old bit.
Starting point is 00:12:19 Far longer than should have been on Labyrinth. But then Vish, but he's got... I was like sitting in between two Alzheimer's patients. Marcus, where you are, doing a bit on labyrinth. Can't remember why. Vish then got confused because he thought he was about Pans Labyrinth
Starting point is 00:12:31 just made a couple of references that Marcus didn't understand. Yeah, Marcus was like, obviously, what's Pans Labyrinth. He had no idea what it was. I'm just sitting in the middle.
Starting point is 00:12:40 I sort of think, I can't tell whether Marcus watches lots of films or not enough films. I think it's not enough films. Do you not think? I think he's a bit Michael Lohner. You know, he's not to defend himself.
Starting point is 00:12:51 But he will be told. He knows what he likes. Yeah, exactly. and when we he refused to watch the michaelon documentary which i did go through and watch yeah what for a piece for a piece for a bit for a bit for a bit i don't we used it in the end but um yeah cut out all the cheesy brentisms from the first three episodes the problem we're watching the orn's thing is the first season the first episode is
Starting point is 00:13:15 him uh you know talking about his is nearly blind um son which was unhelpful if you're going to take the piss out of michalon in many ways Which some unfair people might say if that's why he's done it. I would not, uh, fuck it. Yeah, I'd say that too. Very much like, very much like putting you, sending your best golfer out at the first round of the rider cup. That is. Get off on the right foot. Start early on. But he did, I think he was on, uh, he was on some fucking show this week and he was saying,
Starting point is 00:13:43 I never tell, I never tell my, I never tell my kids. I love him. I saw that, yeah. I never tell you, I found that, I found that deeply chilling. Yeah. He's a such a dickhead. But, you know, he clearly got that, he clearly got that from his parents,
Starting point is 00:13:55 he clearly got, they probably got it from their parents and stuff. Like, you can do it so much fucking damage as a dad, kind of. You were telling me about it earlier. You were? You were telling me about it earlier. Yeah. The damage it's being done.
Starting point is 00:14:05 Yeah. By raising someone in a house that stinks. She'll be the stinky kid. She'll be the unbearer, unbearable, incredibly tall, tall for her age, stinky kid. Mine will be... Mine will be the highly entitled spoiled kid.
Starting point is 00:14:22 based on what I've seen over the last few weeks. But yeah, but we shouldn't, you shouldn't carry on talking about Marx in that way. No. What I would say is that, um... You were too! Is that the... I was going, we did a bit of uncut earlier.
Starting point is 00:14:35 Right. And I was talking about, um, Humphrey. Who's... Oh, Humphers. He follows me on... It was stopped in the streets. So I said, Hey, did that happen?
Starting point is 00:14:44 Hey, you... Hey, Jake, I've watched your videos. Not everyone deserves happiness. It doesn't seem likely. Didn't that happened? No, I don't think it did happen. I think he's, is it a mechanism?
Starting point is 00:14:54 Is it a device? Was it a device? It was, I think he got excited. He didn't think of the wider picture and he's just gone for it. And he's, he's getting all of the,
Starting point is 00:15:03 you know, abuse he deserves. But for him, it might be difficult to distinguish between the abuse. What do you mean? As in, because he might just think,
Starting point is 00:15:11 oh, I upload everything and they get shit for it. Because people, right, he's got no, he's got no, he's clearly got no.
Starting point is 00:15:15 Well, because to me, because to me, but the position I feel like I'm in is that if I do something bad and get called out for it. I still think I've got the
Starting point is 00:15:25 light and shade to know. Because normally people, I mean, you do get cunts, but like, normally you get people, people like the shows are what I make, right? So it's fine. And I don't think we are doing anything that bad. But then sometimes, like, that's some thing I did. Right. When they called me out on it. I was like, fuck, yeah, this is bad. I've made a mistake. I need to sort it out. Whereas I think if you, if you are getting
Starting point is 00:15:45 pelters every single time you fucking lift your head up, it's probably got difficult to distinguish between. I guess so, yeah. So he might as well just be like, well, I've got no understanding about what's good and bad yeah that's the problem for someone like him because he's got in my view he probably started out quite good
Starting point is 00:15:58 I think he probably did yeah he was blue Peter present wasn't he yes the very definition of one as well yeah I think I think he probably started out well intention but I think he's just been so radicalised by the current state of the world and the feedback he gets
Starting point is 00:16:12 I think he just spent too much time watching like you know those kind of American podcasts about him pretty he's too many self-help books too many sort of like sell yourself. Would people love him? Yeah, they've absolutely found him.
Starting point is 00:16:23 Because he's selling himself and it's just not... What does he do the ones who's top off in the gym at home? It's not... It's not absolutely abhorrent. It just looks... It just looks odd. It just looks odd. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:35 And I think, ultimately, you must have disappeared off the flywheel if you're doing stuff before you've had a shower and put your shirt back on. Yeah. Yeah. I just wonder what he's... I don't know. I don't know. What is...
Starting point is 00:16:44 Bear in mind, like, it's very... Most, I would say, a good percentage of British men don't even like being seen by their... family members in their own house with their top off. No, yeah. So the fact that he's, the fact that he's like, I've got a mate, right, who was so self-conscious, by the way, he looks absolutely fine, he's got nothing
Starting point is 00:17:01 wrong with him whatsoever, who was so self-conscious about taking this top off to have a bit of skin-on-skin contact with his newborn baby. He brought a special extra large t-shirt to put over on top of it. That's what British men are like. I put it under the t-shirts. I think British men are, that's what British men are like, right?
Starting point is 00:17:19 You know, I mean, Sarah, being on a long time, but I still sidle in, so she didn't see my bum. because I got a just small bomb. Don't really have a bomb. Just not really proud about my back. Why haven't you got any pyjamas on? Because it's night time, bedtime, baby. So do you sleep naked?
Starting point is 00:17:35 No, pants. But then don't worry about your bum that. You got pants on? No, no, but I'll come up with trousers on and then I'll take my trousers off. Have you got an onsweet? At the side of the... No, I'll just take the side of the bed.
Starting point is 00:17:46 That's where I was closed down there in my stinky house. So let me just get this straight, right. So you come up to the bed... So do you have house clothes? Do you just wear outdoor clothes around the house? Depends, I suppose. In the summertime,
Starting point is 00:17:57 it's just shots, the top lesson shots all day really. Right, right, right, right, yeah. So when you get home later, you're relaxing, do you put a pair of tracky bees on or what you're? No, no, I just, yeah, no, just wear the normal clothes.
Starting point is 00:18:07 So that is mental. That strikes with a man who cannot switch off. Get out of uniform. Well, I'll be recording resume at like eight or something. So like, it's, um, depends on what you're doing, and suppose,
Starting point is 00:18:18 and I wear a formal wear for that. Top, out and tail. Like, even though, William, Part two video. Do you, wait, so, does Sarah normally go to bed before you then? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:30 So then you'll come up to bed. Yeah. She'll be reading or whatever. Yeah. And you will be fully closed. But then you'll strip down to your pants that you've been wearing all day. Yeah. And you wear those in bed.
Starting point is 00:18:40 What, do you change pants for bed? No, I've got pyjama shorts. Pajama shorts. Yeah, just nice shorts. Even in the summertime. From the White Company. You're brand obsessed. Well, it's a nice comfortable, soft,
Starting point is 00:18:51 soft clothing nightwear. clothing. You shouldn't be wearing your outdoor day pants. Yeah, but I'm not the sort of person who shits his pants like a lot of people. Well, your house fucking stinks. Do where's it going from? What's it going from? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:19:04 No, so let me just get a sense check on this. Brudon, this might be above. Do you sleep in your pants at your worn all day? Pajama shorts. What? Show which bottoms, see? Pajama bottoms, you absolute toffs. Toffs, yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:17 Pajama bottoms. That's right. Pajama bottoms. Like a fucking ninja. Go on the White Company website and buy some, buy just buy five. got pajamas, but I don't wear them. I don't wear them during the summer, do I? You sometimes run to the office based on some of the shit I've seen you wear. So you're just wearing pants, but you sideline in a way that means Sarah can't see your
Starting point is 00:19:36 backside. Yeah, because I'm not proud of it. What's wrong with you, what's wrong with you, Derek? It's just not doing anything, just tiny. So you've got one of those bombs that just drops off, doesn't it? There's no kind of shape to it. It's like a, like a skinny girl's, like a pubescent ladies' boobs. They're just like yeah. And do you think anyone would notice if you didn't,
Starting point is 00:19:59 if you weren't self-conscious about it? How did you first become self-conscious about it? Yeah, I guess you don't sort of notice what you don't have, I suppose, do you? You don't notice what you don't see, I suppose. Yeah. I imagine you'd be quite a chaotic person to share a bit.
Starting point is 00:20:10 Well, I've shared a bit with you actually for a short amount of time. Generally speaking, you're probably quite chaotic. No, I, if I've had a beer, I'll do me laughing. I do a lot of laughing in the night. and what can you mean?
Starting point is 00:20:24 Sarah will have a little snore every now and again and I'll do a bit of laughing every now and again and I think that's equal Why are you laughing in bed? I'm just having a good time in my dreams too
Starting point is 00:20:33 You said to me every time you have a dream where you know you're dreaming like lucid dream the first few do is try and go fuck someone that may have been something that I indulged in
Starting point is 00:20:43 when I was a younger man I don't really have those dreams anymore it's a bit annoying I've clearly So I put a book one My testosterone's right out of the window So I bought a book once, which claimed to be able to teach you how to lucid dream. And it didn't fucking work.
Starting point is 00:20:57 Right. I think it's that, it's a jump off point when you're just going to sleep. And you can only sort of do it, I think, when you're first to sleep, maybe, I don't know. I'm not able to do, if I ever get lucid dreams going on, I always manage to realize it's a dream and then wake myself up because I now know it's a dream. Right. Okay. This is boring. Yeah, which is kind of a weird.
Starting point is 00:21:20 That's why you don't read fiction. It's a control thing, I think. It's fucking annoying, to be fair. Right. I wish I could just go with it. But I can't. I think I'm too anxious about it. But what I meant was, when you get into bed,
Starting point is 00:21:30 I bet you're kind of, you're rummaging around for stuff. You're doing a little project. No, I'm like, well, I'm like, well, I do my word, letting me, um, me, uh, Japanese whole work. Are you allowed your phone in bed? What do you mean? I got wear fucking pyjama bottoms and you're allowed your phone in bed. What's wrong with you?
Starting point is 00:21:46 Well, it's bad form to be looking at that phone before you go to sleep, I'm just doing my word, or? We've got to watch the Office US. I've got to do my wordle. Do you have the Office US every night? Yeah. Still now? Yep.
Starting point is 00:21:55 Every night? Like seven, seven times in. Yep. We've gone past the Michael Scott area. Well, as soon as you finish, you'll start again. We're in the James Spader area. As soon as you'll start again. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:06 The first few seasons are hard going these days, but we get through it. Because I like to have a little cleanser for the eyes. Right. But which I mean, if I have to look at something on my phone. So, say I'm doing the show next day, and I want to just check what the running order is. Right. I'll do that, I'll do all that stuff or I'll watch a highlights thing or whatever
Starting point is 00:22:22 because I've only been able to watch one game then I'll like to have a pallet cleanser so I'll put the phone down, put it on sleep get the Kindle out and read that or get a book out How many pages do you do? If I'm into it I'll go I'm pretty rapid
Starting point is 00:22:35 Right Well that John Ronsor book I read I think in Under 2 days That's insane Yeah Wow Wow I'm not going to pause off my intelligence
Starting point is 00:22:44 mate It's not intelligence to read fast Is it be processing Should we do a couple of emails before we go? A lot of clever clubs and stuff I find It's just people remembering stuff Yeah, is that, it is that Do you know what I get a lot of?
Starting point is 00:22:57 Because you know you get a lot of shit about Not knowing anything about football And your house being stinking. Well, yeah, not in the same comment Separation of church and state and all that. It's just so funny why people just say stupid shit like that But I get a lot of people thinking I'm being serious when I'm not
Starting point is 00:23:13 About that's what I just said there I'll get a lot of shit of people thinking that I think I'm really clever right yeah i think we both know you think you're really clever and you are really clever so that's why you can think that i do think i'm really clever if you're thick as pigshare you think you're really clever that's interesting yeah that's more funny my house thinks a pig shit my house smells of books let's do this um let's do this couple of these emails because um there are a couple i want to get out of the way about pots and pans right because you you had a big be in your bonnet a while
Starting point is 00:23:40 back how shit cookware is yeah so i never noticed this yeah so i'll cars on the table i will am I proud of this? Probably not. But when I went to the US a couple years ago, it was Black Friday after Thanksgiving and the Le Crosay shop had an amazing sale on.
Starting point is 00:24:00 You're going to pay money on the getting that back to the UK though, aren't you? Listen to what I did though. Right. I basically... Too heavy. I took the hit of the extra 40 quid or something out to spend for a heavy suitcase and carried it all back ourselves because
Starting point is 00:24:16 it was such a good deal. And the Cruisee stuff is good quality stuff. So it lasts. Yeah, so I've never had to buy anything since. But how do you make an omily? You know, how do you make a pancake? Too heavy?
Starting point is 00:24:27 No, because you've got different sizes of frying pans. My wife makes pancakes every Sunday morning. I do too, Saturday. My son fucking demands them now. Disgraceful. Anyway, so I didn't know the quality had become very very poor. But anyway, Dom's been in touch.
Starting point is 00:24:40 I'll have to you, Dom. He says, hi, guys, first time e-money. Just getting a talk after a discussion about products and brands getting worse. There's a website called worse on purpose.com whoever is running it is complying a list of brands whether they've been bought by private equity
Starting point is 00:24:53 and ways that are reducing their quality and standards after the mention of LeCrucce they are for example still approved so LeCrucce still good. The Cookware section in general have as fairly depressing as Pete suggested and if you click on it there's loads of brands in there that are fucking shit and that to me is
Starting point is 00:25:09 a classic example of a capitalist system which I am broadly in favour of with no guardrails or no regulation whatsoever and people just take the fucking piss. Yeah. And I think with a brand like Le Crusade,
Starting point is 00:25:20 it's probably, I don't know, but it's probably quite a historic brand, probably protected in France and one of that so they can't do it. Right.
Starting point is 00:25:26 The same way that you can't sell like German beer houses to private equity because there's like a law enshrining the quality of them, that kind of thing. Nice. The Germans always do good stuff in that.
Starting point is 00:25:35 In Germany, I think you can only use four ingredients for your beer. Right. Oh. Don't ask what they are. You can't even flavour it with like peach or something.
Starting point is 00:25:42 No. Like a Jubel. It won't get a thing. Pyrex is on the watch list. Avoid, it says, American glass. Pyrex? Pyrex, yeah. Apparently so.
Starting point is 00:25:51 You'd expect to rely on pyrex. Yeah, getting worse on purpose. Yeah, they collected. Have you ever been to a casino when they give out pots and pans? I haven't been to a casino. If you sit at the table long enough, certainly in the US,
Starting point is 00:26:11 to keep you there, for the most loyal customers, they'll come around with, like, you know, cookware, like a fucking, you know, pan you put in your mac or everything. UK? America, America mainly. I don't, I don't go to consider it.
Starting point is 00:26:23 It's very boring. My wife has made it clear to me that in generally, general, she's disapproving of my gambling. Oh, right, yeah, because you do a little bit of sports. Yeah. Sports booking. Sports blessing. And so I, um, I think you're pretty, I think you're pretty, well, I mean, I don't know
Starting point is 00:26:38 the depths of what you're going clearly, but like, um, I think, uh, I think you're pretty sensible though. If you're still here, are on? got a roof over me what's going on with this microphone I'm gonna win you a fucking carpet love I tell what was what was pleasing the other day
Starting point is 00:26:52 is I sent I was really confident about Ryan Garcia stopping Connor Ben and I sent a message to quite a few friends that lump on this and none of them did and it happened and happened yeah
Starting point is 00:27:02 I've said it before on the show that's much better than when you make some money that's proven and wrong we're on here about the winners of course that's the nature of gambling it's a higher point of it go around
Starting point is 00:27:14 tell everyone I'll love a lot of money on a bet. What's the fucking point of that? I put, at the start of the World Cup, I put 75 pounds into a betting account. I was like, I'm going to do a little, have a little... Yeah, I remember this. This was quite good for a while, wasn't it? I'm all right,
Starting point is 00:27:28 sometimes, but... That'll teach those Reddit commenters. How can he's most of my own football? He's actually quite good at gambling. It's... No, but I just... I don't know anything about the football. The narrative always gets you. So how much money? So you start with 75 pounds. What did you end the World Cup with?
Starting point is 00:27:46 I've got 70 £7.8. But I got brought the first week in and I didn't do any more gambling. So maybe I need to go back on the gambling. That's the big thing. If you're doing it just a pastime, and I've defended sports betting and gambling loads of times on Reddit as well. I don't mind it. On Reddit as well.
Starting point is 00:28:02 So my position on it is pretty clear. I think recreational gambling is fine. Although I acknowledge it on people have problems with it, the same way a lot of people have problems, a lot of different things, which are otherwise fine. Like, for example, alcohol, anyway. if you want to do it as a hobby to have a bit of fun chuck a tenor on something if it wins great you get around a beer
Starting point is 00:28:22 it's great but if the people who actually want to make money to a person without fail every time with a system where you want to actually make money the one thing that stops it is the emotion gets in the way right they can't be disciplined enough to not go oh I'm going to go on that oh I'm going to be great this win, cheers his loss wouldn't they be great if there's a penalty in this game or I'm going to go
Starting point is 00:28:44 for a hat trick for fucking so and so like it's just a stupid thing to do and you always lose your money and that's how they get you that's how they win you got to go with you know you got to do your do your do your doggies the I would definitely pay for a newsletter from a man who started a world cup with
Starting point is 00:28:58 75 pound then it was 78 pound that's great stuff that is a I think that is a pretty good result I would say it's a solid few percent percentage point of return I once invested in a helium mine that didn't go anywhere um
Starting point is 00:29:10 the uh we can't leave that and, I'm, I'm, I'm, I mean, didn't make any money,
Starting point is 00:29:18 so I couldn't find the helium. We also invested in a Nigerian film, didn't we? We did invest in the Nigerian film. Can we not just take that and release it? We got a rush,
Starting point is 00:29:26 we got the rushes, didn't we? We got a DVD. Yeah, we got a DVD. Stick it on the little picture of YouTube. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:32 We might do alright. And if the Nigerian director has a problem with that, well, should have made the film. Should release the film. Should release the film.
Starting point is 00:29:40 The, the, the, the, We, my partner Sarah, she was a host on Sky Poker for a long time. Yeah. So Sky had an online sort of poker game and she would basically sit for like seven hours at time talking about the people playing poker online and she'd be with like a pro, like a pro poker player.
Starting point is 00:30:02 And it was just seven hours of just talking about poker and just dicking about really. Just a little kind of like a magazine. Not like your magazine show, but like a people having fun sort of thing. chatting through the games that had gone on, taking place. And she would occasionally do like sort of Manchester United's teams would play
Starting point is 00:30:22 like a game of poker or whatever. And she'd go up to Newcastle and do some live presenting from a from a casino. And she was with one of the poker professionals and they got up, they were eating breakfast at a restaurant and they're having like a massive fry up and the bloat went,
Starting point is 00:30:39 I'd, I can eat that again. And he went, go on then. a grand and and and they can't they can't stop it yeah I could believe it and the guy didn't manage it because he got nailed on the toast they never factoring the toast I'm actually in toast I remember one of my earliest memories I must be about five was my uncle
Starting point is 00:30:59 he's no longer with us sadly um I was like honestly I was like five probably right I can't have been older than seven yeah but if someone said to me how old at the time say five I was involved with my uncle my dad my dad my granddad my great granddad and me betting on ray drops
Starting point is 00:31:16 coming down the window right rain drops yeah that's just some purity of that wasn't there it's taking it down to it's distilled literally into its and Kea Starma
Starting point is 00:31:26 wants to take that from us no I also I used to get involved so on Boxing Day and my family it was in the afternoon after the we used to have a different
Starting point is 00:31:38 kind of meal Christmas dinner yeah after that all the lads, all the men in the family would be in the kitchen on the table, playing a variety of different card games for money. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:50 So we'd have like... Supranos. Yeah, come over. And cigars, my great granies, always to smoke a cigar. King Egwood cigar, I remember that. And I would always be involved. And from the very early age,
Starting point is 00:32:01 I was able to, they just let me dish the money out and stuff and deal the cards. And then as I got a bit older, I was allowed to play as well. Did you get a little visor, a little red visor? No, sadly not. We used to play a game called NAP. nap. I don't know how you play it now.
Starting point is 00:32:13 But also in the background, there was a little snooker, in their house had a little snooker table. Nice. Yeah, and there was a load of the stripper pole. A lot of dogs playing. Right, let's go over here. This has been the Luke and Pete Show. We'll be back on Thursday. Do continue sending an email because we do love them.
