Dr Roto Joins Gives His Week #1 Predications

I know it was just the first week. We've only had one international game.

Are we starting to get really scared about using our star players in international waters? Because, man, if I had some Rams players, I was pretty disappointed on how things turned out last night. Yeah, I mean, you sit there and you go, my team has Drake May. I've got A.J. Brown. I've got Devante Adams. I got Judarian Price. Your team's not winning. And it's, you know, this is the part that we hate about fantasy football, right?

We put it all the time and effort into drafting our teams and getting it right. and you have your star players are in these opportunities, and DeMarcus Robinson is catching a touchdown, and not Devante Adams. So look, week one is a mess. Because preseason has changed, right? Guys are not playing in preseason.

Really, week one and week two are almost like play in games in terms of guys getting in game shape. So it's going to be a little rough for the first two weeks. You just want to try to get at least one win, hopefully two, things start to settle down. All right.

So I would assume if you've got one of the premier receivers in the game and he happens to wearing a Seattle uniform, it doesn't really matter who the quarterback is because we saw that man get to the end zone on Wednesday night. But general thoughts about how Seattle moves now with a new quarterback, at least for one week probably. Well, you know, the interesting thing is Drew Locke has been around, right? It's not like he hasn't played in the NFL, like he hasn't started.

I probably used him in fantasy a couple of times myself out of desperation. He can get the job done. I happen to really like Jalen Milro. I don't think you can play Jalen Milroo at Fear Seattle. I think you'd go with Drew Locke. He was efficient last week against a good New England defense. You still have JASN, who is arguably one of the top three wider seniors in the league. Gadarian Price looked really good.

So I think you can get through it. Look, Sam Donald won at the Super Bowl, but it's not like he was the greatest quarterback we've ever seen. so, I mean, if Sam Donald's 7 and a half out of 10, your locks a 6.5 out of 10, you rely on your defense, you're relying on your running game, and you have JSF makes in place.

So many questions I have for you this week. Thought about Daniel Jones, because we're going to be paying attention to Ravens and Colts because those are two teams that in theory with the Colts being the EFC South, Ravens being a title contender. What are your general thoughts about him coming off of that massive injury and how the Colts move in 2026?

Yeah, I'm a little, I'm bullish on the Ravens and I'm bearish on the Colts. Why? I like the new coaching staff in Baltimore. I love Jesse Minter. I think this guy is the next great coach. I really do. I think he's got a little bit defensive Ben Johnson in him, right?

He's won at Michigan. He knows how to do this before. He's coached under Harbaugh. And now you get a team in Baltimore who's ready to win. You have Declan Doyle, who I think is going to be a head coach next year. So I like Lamar Jackson. I love Derek Henry. I love Zay Flowers.

love Mark Andrews. I think they're all absolutely in play this week. On the other side, I think we're looking at a team in the Colts where we're like, how is Daniel Jones going to do? He really didn't play much in training camp. He's starting to ramp up. Alec Pierce is ramping up. Josh Downs is ramping up. All these guys were injured at some point during training camp. We know Jonathan Taylor is great, but we don't know about the rest of the Colts. That's the issue here. So I think what we know is the Ravens are going to score. We don't know if the Colts can stay up with them.

If they can, this may be the game that breaks out MT, and that's the game you won in fantasy. All right. Cowboys play the Giants on the Sunday night opener. When we were fantasy drafting last week, Jackson Dart's name was way high up on the list, and

I kept saying, okay, somebody either is going to take him or help me why ESPN loved him so much. So let me ask you, do you like him? The reason why I would stay away from him is again, he likes to run himself into concussion issues all the time it feels like. You know, it's so funny you said that because I only did one draft on ESPN this year. Mrs. Roto had a work draft, and I, you know, I might have looked over her shoulder, right?

I have never seen an ADP list or a rankings list as whack as ESPN. I mean, guys that I was taking around four or five are like 50 and 60 on their list. It was unreal. Listen, Jackson Dart is fine, but I think what you're probably, The problem is Matt Nagy is not a great offensive coordinator. Okay, that's been proven. Secondly, the giants are absolutely terrified of this guy getting more concussions. So they're going to scale him back.

I don't think you can scale a thoroughbred back. That's the problem. You need to let Jackson Dart be who he is. He's a little crazy. He's got a slingshot for an arm. He can throw the ball 80 yards down the field. And he loves to run the football. When you harness that, you're losing the best abilities that he has.

abilities that he has. So I am absolutely very worried about the Giants. Cam Scataboo leads with his head. That's never a good thing. Malik Neighbors is coming off a horrific injury. So look, the Cowboys are dealing with their own injuries, but I think the Cowboys are really in a place this year to win that division. If that defense could take another step up with Caleb Downs, who I think is going to be all over the field and a real nightmare for the Giants. So I'm playing DAC. I'm playing Giovante Williams. I'm playing lamb. I'm playing pickens. On the other side, I'll play Scataboo,

and I won't feel great about Dart, but if I had to play them, I will. Otherwise, there you go. We're going back to the AFC South before we get to the Texans' Bills game. Brown's Jaguars, Sean Watson, the de facto starting quarterback. It feels like Trevor Lawrence has up year, down year,

up year, down year. What are your forecasts for the Jaguars, not only this week but this season, but what are realistically expectations for the skill position players? I guarantee you, Nobody's taking to Sean Watson as a quarterback. Oh, my God, not in this lifetime.

So here's the problem with Jacksonville. I love Trevor Lawrence. I do. I think he's going to be a great spot this year. He's got a fantastic head coach, and they were jelling in the second half of last year. Outside of Parker Washington, who I really do like, I'm not sure you can count on Jacoby Myers,

because he's good, but he's like eight to ten points a week. Brian Thomas Jr., I don't know if you guys have seen the matchups that he has against opposing cornerbacks, but man, it's brutal over the first seven or eight weeks. This guy, I don't know, be very careful with him. Then he's got Bachel Tutin and Chris Rodriguez who are going to be splitting carries. So what am I getting at? I'm getting at a situation where week to week outside of Lawrence,

you just don't know where the football is going. And that's the problem. We want guys who are reliable and outside of Parker Washington. I don't think there is a reliable player. Cleveland is going to be an unmitigated disaster for the first two weeks until Deshaun while Deshaun Watson's in there. When he leaves, which mercifully should be around week three, you'll have Shador Sanders, who's not much better,

but at least he'll sling it around, they'll throw it. I do like Casey Concepcion, and I do like Quintan Judkins, so they may not be great week one or week two, but please hold them. They're very talented players. All right. Now to Buffalo versus Houston. If anybody's done a little bit of history on this,

Josh Allen hates playing at a reliance stadium or whatever they're calling it this week. Super Bowl aspirations clearly again on both sides. You have the Texans with a new running back, second year coordinator. Who is sitting and who is staying away from the fantasy football field this week between these two teams? Yeah, so I think the question in this game is, are we going to see Super Josh? Because when Super Josh comes out, it's all over for the NFL, right? He has those games where you just had to have them.

but I think the Texans defense can limit super Josh if any team can. But I will start Josh Allen. I will start James Cook for sure. Ty Johnson's not playing. So James Cook is going to get more receptions. I really like him out of the backfield. I like DJ Moore. I think those three guys are the other three guys you can start with confidence for the bills.

On the other side, look, the bill's defense is quote unquote better, but we've heard that before. But we don't see it. If the bills are a mess defensively, the Texans are going to be, C.J. Stroud may have a pretty good game. Nico Collins could have that quick touchdown to start that game. You know, when he always starts out with like that big play in the first quarter and you get hyped up and then all of a sudden it becomes a David Montgomery love fest. I like Bolton Schultz as well. So I'll start Stroud. I'll start Collins. I'll start Montgomery. I'll start Schultz if desperate, but I'd rather not if I don't, if I can avoid it.
