Who's that really?
The fastest 30 minutes in Major Market Radio.
We say hello to the good doctor with us here.
Dr. Rodo here on Sports Talks.
I brought this up to you yesterday about Drake May or Katta Murray.
And Roda, I was feeling great, especially after Murray throws those two early I intees.
But fantasy football can be cruel.
I wake up this morning.
He has 21 fantasy points.
So it just shows you real life football and fantasy football are two different animals.
It is.
I mean, look, Murray was fine.
wasn't great. Trust me, at half time,
you were probably, like you said, you were loving life
because he could barely play the game.
And then the second half had picked up.
But what did he finish with? 200 yards and two
touchdowns, a few yards rushing.
I think Drake May is going to be better than that.
I mean, Carolina does not pressure the quarterback.
So, look, I always want
to find, I think Drake May is on
the cusp of being really good.
And so worth the risk.
All right, let's go over a couple things from last week
and moving forward. Since anti-Mnesota
game, my God, the back
of quarterbacks. One didn't have to do much because his defense kept scoring and Cincinnati
with Browning was a hot mess. If I've got T. Higgins, which I do have, and before you get,
Jamar Chase, are you, if you're a Bengals wide receiver fan, are you wiggin out right now?
No, no, no. Look, Jake Browning's not terrible. There are worse guys out there. He just played a
really hot defense last week. Minnesota's a good defense. Brian Flores is a great defensive
coordinator. This week's a tough matchup, but the Broncos run a lot of man coverage, which is right
up T. Higgins his alley. You can never
say that you're not going to play Jamar Chase.
So look, Browning is better
than a lot of backups in this league.
I picked him up in a couple of leagues. You've just
got to be patient. Maybe after
this week he's playable.
All right. We got
Brock Purdy
back playing for San Francisco
this week. Does that change their
fortunes much against the Jaguars?
I think they're going to beat the Jaguars
regardless. This could be one of those McAfre's, you know,
140 yards from scrimmage
and two touchdown weeks.
Ricky Pearsall right now is not 100%.
So we've got to keep our eyes on that.
Joanne Jennings, I expect to be back.
If he's there, you definitely want to play him.
Look, the Jaguars, these are two teams that play fast.
These are two coaches that are innovative play callers.
You know, the big question here is without Nick Bosa,
how will the 49ers fare on defense?
That's what I'm concerned to see.
Atlanta got shell-shocked by Carolina last week.
If I've got Pennix and company there,
how am I going to do against Washington?
You're going to do really well because here's something that works.
Nobody on planet Earth wants to play Michael Pennix Jr. this weekend.
That's why he's going to have a good week.
Right?
It's just how the NFL works.
I'm telling you're just one of those funny things.
So you're playing in DFS?
I like Michael Pennix this week.
He's playing at home.
He's playing on that fast track.
Washington's in big trouble this week.
There's no Jaden Daniels.
There's no Terry McLaren.
The Atlanta defense is better.
I think Pennix has a much improved week.
I'm going to put them down for 240.
40 yards and two touchdowns.
Dr. Rota, there were a lot of folks that picked up Daniel Jones because of what the fast are for the Colts.
They're three and oh, but realistically, they could be just as easy one and two.
We saw what that Rams defense did against C.J. Stroud in the opening week,
how will Jones and his skill position players do against the Rams?
I think this is going to be the most exciting game of the weekend, truly.
I think this game could really blow up in terms of scoring.
So I like Daniel Jones, I like Jonathan Taylor.
Take a look at Josh Downs.
He doesn't play a lot when the Colts are winning,
but I think they're going to be losing,
so he'll be out there and might be interesting fantasy-wise.
Love Puconacua, love Matthew Stafford.
Devante Adams is still very, very,
he's been out with a hamstring during practice this week.
If he's not there,
Kairn Williams is also firmly in play.
We really like this game.
All right.
Ross and I have been kind of Josh and about Ashton Genty,
only 115 yards in three games.
that's a case of a porous offensive line.
Chicago showed a pretty good defense against the Bears
against the Cowboys last week.
How do you see Chicago on the Raiders?
I mean, the Cowboys were a mess.
The second CD Lamb got injured, right?
At that point, it wasn't like the Bears were great.
And the Cowboys defense is awful.
I really like Ashton Gentie this week.
I think that should be another exciting game.
I think the 4 o'clock games are way better than the early slate games.
So, look, I think that Gino Smith in play,
Gentie in play.
Jacoby Myers, definitely.
William play. Brock Bowers also
on the other side, I think you
can play Caleb Williams. I think you could
always play Roma Dunezze. That's like,
don't even ask that question anymore. Just play Roma
Densee. And those
are all the guys I would start in that one. Okay.
Hey, I love the Detroit-Baltimore game
because I had loaded fantasy players on
both sides, although
Flowers was kind of quiet
for the Ravens. Can he pipe up this week
in Kansas City? Not
sure this is a great spot for
them because the defensive coverage they
roll out doesn't really favor him.
I think it favors more Rashad Bateman.
I think Derek Henry's going to have a good game.
On the other side, if there was ever a week to play Travis Kelsey, this is the week.
Baltimore is awful against tight ends, second most receiving yards, second most of receptions.
It's been a nightmare.
Both these teams need this game desperately.
The only way the chiefs do it is if Kelsey plays well.
Late game comebacks for both Philadelphia and Tampa Bay.
Low scoring or high scoring this week
down in East Florida.
West Florida, I guess.
West Florida, right by me, yeah.
You know, it's funny because you can't run on the bucks,
but you can throw on the bucks.
So I think that this is one of those games,
and the bucks have led up the most receptions
to opposing running backs.
So a lot of people won't want to love Barclay this week.
I have no problem with Barclay this week,
so I have five or six receptions.
Like Jalen Hertz this week, like DeVantta Smith this week,
like A.J. Brown this week on the other side,
Mike Evans, as we know, is out.
Chris Godwin is expected back.
Egbuka has been fantastic.
I think this is going to be a lower scoring game,
but you could still see fantasy yardage,
just not a lot of touchdowns.
All right.
Jackson Dart with the Giants,
their own three.
Nobody's surprised they made the move.
Probably this soon is a little bit of a surprise.
How do you see the charges of the Giants?
No, no, Brian Daibble was going to get fired.
So the only way that this guy doesn't get fired is,
hey, I've got a new quarterback that I have to mentor.
Okay, Brian, we'll give you a few weeks.
That's it.
Otherwise, I mean, to leave Russell Wilson in there was over.
But Jackson Dart, if he ever watched him in Ole Miss,
dude can throw, dude can run.
Okay, he's mobile.
He's interesting.
He's a good quarterback, right?
Now, good in college doesn't necessarily mean good
in your first pro game against the Chargers defense in Jim Harbaugh.
That's a lot to ask for.
However, Malik neighbors, two out of the three games,
he didn't see the football.
He will see the football this week.
And I love Cam Scatabu.
This dude is very underrated.
Look at his numbers last week, MT.
With those numbers, he'd be like a third round pick if he did that every week.
On the other side, I love Herbert.
I love Ladd McConkey.
And Omerian Hampton, very sad what happened to Najee Harris,
but Omerian Hampton becomes a beast right now.
All right.
C.D. Lamb, Les Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay.
Really impressive so far.
They've got to be smart with their loss at Cleveland last week.
Will they try to take it out on the Dallas Cowboys?
Hide the wife and children, M.T., this is all doing.
It's really going to be bad.
I mean, you have no lamb.
Maybe Ferguson has a good game.
George Pickens, I don't really like.
I don't love Giovante Williams.
I don't like Back Prescott.
Stay away.
On the other side, here's a name that you haven't heard,
but I think you will.
Matthew Golden from University of Texas.
I think the guy, Dallas has led up the most yards per target in the league.
They let up a ton of big plays.
Golden is their big play receiver.
that's going to be the guy who scores this week.
Yeah, Matthew Golden was a Houston
Cougar until he decided that the University of Houston
was too difficult for him. That's why he made a change
to the University of Texas. He upgraded in
prestige and academia. What are you talking about?
Here's Ross with his obligatory Ross question of the week.
I mean, come on, Matt. Let's be realistic.
You mentioned a little bit about Ashton Gentie.
I'm just curious some of the running backs who are sputtering,
how much longer do you expect it to last,
especially in the case of Genti, Chase Brown,
and maybe to a lesser extent, Alvin Kamara.
Yeah, you know, Camara is not bad, right?
Because they don't really use a lot of guys
that use Juan Johnson, they use Alave,
they use Rashid, Shahid, and Kamara.
So he's different.
Chase Brown's been a nightmare, really,
and now gets to play Denver this week.
That's not good either.
So you can have another bad week of Chase Brown
before it gets better.
Gentis should get better this week.
Problem is you drafted these guys in like round two.
So what are you going to do?
Cut them?
No, what are you going to do bench him until they get better?
Maybe, but do you have a better guy in your roster?
Probably not.
So sad, you're kind of stuck with them at this point.
All right, last thing before I go to the phones, Tennessee, Houston.
Now, Nico got past a defender, slipped, scored a deep touchdown.
The numbers have not been great for him.
There's not an offense in terms of running game.
CJ has faced a lot of pressure.
Are we getting nervous about our skill position players for the Texans?
even though they are playing O'N3 Tennessee.
Well, look, this should be the game they win, right?
We feel good about that.
Stroud should have a better day.
Jeffrey Simmons, though, is a beast.
You've got to watch for that guy.
I mean, if the Texans' offensive line is not paying attention,
Simmons is going to sack Stroud four or five times.
I think the real key to the Texans, I think there's three guys.
One, Woody Marks.
Let's get him out there.
Doesn't he look faster than Chubbs of the naked eye?
Oh, my naked eye to the blind eye that he looks faster.
It does.
So you're like, why are they not getting this guy out there more?
He was one of the best receiving running backs in college football the last three years running.
So this is not a fluke.
This guy's legit.
Two, Christian Kirk.
You've got to have another receiver there to help Nico Collins.
And three, you've got to get the ball to Dalton Schultz.
Right?
So you've got to get these guys involved.
It can't just be the Nico show.
Because if it is, then you become a one-note team and you're in trouble.
But good news is the Titans really stink.
I don't see a pathway for them to really improve, certainly not this week.
So this is the game that Texans need to get the ball rolling.
