No, it's not every day that we begin the show with a groundbreaking piece of breaking news from the New York Times of all places. But in this case, I have no choice. You see, the paper of record recently hired a new climate change reporter who specializes in hard-hitting investigations with no compromises. And yesterday, after just a few days on the job, actually, this young reporter whose name is Maxine Joe Slough, delivered what may be her magnum opus. She has made a discovery that, without any doubt,
Starting point is 00:04:02 has massive implications for the future of this country and indeed of civilization itself. So if you're not sitting down already, it's time to do so because we're going to put Maxine's big discovery up on the screen. And this is from her account on X. And I want you to just take it in because in future generations, they're going to be studying this post in science classes all over the world. That's how significant this is. And here it is. So as you can see, Maxine wrote, quote, just started as a climate change reporter at the New York Times, and this is what job security looks like. And then below her message, Maxine posted a screenshot from the weather app on her iPhone, revealing that today in her zip code, the weather will vary from 80 degrees to 99 degrees.
Starting point is 00:04:49 And then throughout the week, there'll be a mixture of rain and sunshine with temperatures hovering around 80 degrees. So yes, in late June, it's getting hot in the New York area. Did you get that? I mean, admittedly, if you're a rube, you might be confused by what Maxine is getting at. The implications might befuddle or even terrify you. Or you might be tempted to mock Maxine, as though as they derided Socrates and Galileo. But that would be ignorant and short-sighted. Because you see, without even realizing it, New York Times reporter Maxine Joslau has discovered something very fundamental about the nature of the planet.
Starting point is 00:05:29 And in particular, she has discovered all by herself the concept of summer that's spelled S-U-M-M-E-R, pronounced summer. And during this period known as summer, temperatures tend to increase by a significant margin. They become what is known as hot, spelled HOT. And in the eyes of Maxine in the New York Times, this is an earth-shattering revelation. It's the kind of a newfangled development that ensures that climate change reporters with English degrees from Brown are in fact irreplaceable on the job market. After all, until people started buying SUVs and using gas stoves, the temperature never changed in the summer. Every day of the year, it was exactly the same temperature as the day before. weather conditions never changed at all.
Starting point is 00:06:16 Now it's different. Check back in the winter and who knows, we might even see the temperatures go down. That'll guarantee a Pulitzer, perhaps a Nobel Prize for Maxine if it comes to pass. It'll be total vindication for the climate change cult. Now, I'll admit that, you know, piling on to poor Maxine, it's not exactly sporting at this point. Half the internet has already accomplished that task for me. within hours of posting a screenshot of high temperatures and suggesting that it's proof of climate change, she locked down her account. So it's safe to say that she's gotten the message,
Starting point is 00:06:50 which is that nobody's really buying into the climate change scam anymore. It's simply too lazy and too unintelligent for anyone to take seriously. The weather changes. It has always changed. Blaming the climate on humans is convenient for the left because it gives them permission to regulate everything into the ground, but it's a false premise. And Now, pretty much everybody understands that. Bernie Sanders is one of the exceptions. The other day, he went on Joe Rogan's show to talk about, among other things, how climate change is supposedly a new existential threat to humanity.
Starting point is 00:07:25 But he wasn't prepared for Joe to pull up data, which was published by the Washington Post, not exactly a right-wing website, that completely contradicts this whole narrative. Watch. First of all, the reality is that the earth's temperature has never been static, right? We could both agree on that. It's always been up and down. There's been ice ages and heat waves. And then the Washington Post looked at it.
Starting point is 00:07:48 What was the time period that they looked at? That essentially they found that we're in a cooling period. That the earth over the past X amount of years, and this was like a very inconvenient discovery, but they had to report the data, and kudos to them for doing that. Scientists have captured the Earth climate change over the last 485 million years. Here's a surprising place we stand now. So look at the far end of that graph, and you see we're in a cooling period. Well, I'm not sure.
Starting point is 00:08:19 I didn't read that article, but the scientists who are out there, I think. I know, but there's a lot of money involved in that, too, Bernie. That's part of the problem. Look, this is, it's not an American issue. It is a global issue. And all I can tell you is that we are, in my view, going to see more extreme weather disturbances in the coming years than we have ever. And we're seeing them right now.
Starting point is 00:08:42 This is one of the easiest ways to see if you're dealing with an honest person or a completely useless hack who brings nothing of value to the debate. If somebody's honest and you confront them with data that contradicts their argument, then they'll pause to respond to the data in some way. But that's not what Bernie Sanders does here. Instead, he just brushes off the data saying he hasn't seen the article from the Washington Post. Then he starts repeating the talking points about how we're supposedly seeing more cases of extreme weather, which is both false and completely irrelevant to the point that Joe Rogan was making. Not to mention the fact that extreme weather is a basically meaningless term.
Starting point is 00:09:17 I mean, what is extreme? What counts as extreme is very much relative to where you live, the season, the time of year, and so on. And by the way, it wasn't the Washington Post that came up with this data. It was a research paper in the journal Science, which the Post reported on. the researchers looked at 500 million years worth of fossil evidence, and they came up with this chart of global average surface temperatures over time. Now, of course, I'm not vouching for whatever fossil evidence and climate modeling produced this graph.
Starting point is 00:09:46 I have no idea whether it's accurate or not. Admittedly, I'm extremely skeptical that they can figure out what the weather was like a million years ago by looking at fossils. But these are the same experts that in every other case, we're told we have to take seriously. And this data shows very clearly that the world used to be much, much warmer than it is today. Hundreds of millions of years ago, the world was warmer. It's also a lot warmer when the dinosaurs went extinct. Relatively speaking, according to the experts, quote unquote, were in a cooling off period. But Sanders and the environmentalist cult have no response to this. All they could do is deflect and lie some
Starting point is 00:10:23 more, which is exactly what Sanders did. So it's hard to watch interviews like this, along with you know, very ill-conceived posts by New York Times reporters, without concluding that the climate change narrative, which was once a dominant orthodoxy on the left, is crashing and burning at the moment. So was the LGBT agenda and Pride Month. Five years ago, you couldn't get away from Pride Month propaganda. Now you barely hear anything about it.
Starting point is 00:10:49 As we've discussed, various pride parades are going bankrupt, sponsors are pulling out one by one and so on. And these are victories that, on the surface, might suggest, as some on the right have claimed, that wokeness and the extreme excesses of left-wing ideology have been defeated or at least neutralized. But that is not the case. The most destructive and anti-American impulses of the left have not been defeated.
Starting point is 00:11:18 They haven't suddenly realized the error of their ways. Instead, like a malignant cancer, they have mutated. They've identified different. ways to undermine the foundations of this country. And in the process, they become much more dangerous and ultimately much more deadly. Now, that's not to say that we haven't had any real victories against wokeness or leftism in recent years. We have. But the point is that the battle is very, very far from over. You cut off one tentacle of this giant squid-like beast, and it grows another. So the battle continues. And getting to the real point here today, that that's the only way to understand
Starting point is 00:11:57 and what just took place yesterday in New York's mayoral primary. Andrew Cuomo has conceded the race, which means that barring an upset in the general election from a candidate like Eric Adams, a 33-year-old Muslim socialist from Uganda named Zoran Mamdani is going to be the next mayor of New York City. Yes, a foreign nepo baby and failed rapper who wants to nationalize the grocery stores and rental properties while also destroying the police department in the name of Queerner, liberation and forcing taxpayers to fund sex changes for children is the man that New Yorkers apparently want to put in charge of the whole city. Every aspect of his platform is un-American and
Starting point is 00:12:41 demented and totally insane, but it's worth spending a little time specifically on this brilliant idea of his to create government-run grocery stores, which we touched on yesterday briefly. And we can use just this one example, this one part of his platform, to show how utter foolish the whole thing is, and how utterly foolish that people who voted for him are, these morons who, all they hear is, oh, cheaper groceries or free groceries. Must be good. Not going to think any more deeply about it than that. But if you do think about it for more than five seconds, what you realize is that in this
Starting point is 00:13:20 country, the typical grocery store has a profit margin of roughly two to three percent. they're not colluding with other stores to extract some insane profit in violation of antitrust laws. Instead, the way grocery stores work is by leveraging economies of scale to generate a lot of very small profits from a lot of individual sales which add up over time. They're only functional because they're efficient, which is the opposite of how the government works. And even then, they're barely turning a profit on every sale. So if you're some kind of greedy capitalist Gordon Gecko-like figure, right, the grocery business is not the kind of business that you would get into. So if you want to create government-run grocery stores, then, I mean, you might as well create government-run restaurants and technology companies and car dealerships, which, of course, the most likely new mayor of New York would love to do as well, I'm sure. I mean, you might as well nationalize the entire economy and turn the United States into Venezuela.
Starting point is 00:14:19 After all, of all the things you can nationalize, grocery stores are the worst. That's like the most extreme. So as usual, radical leftists, they don't follow the slippery slope trajectory in a kind of neat and gradual way. What they so often do is they start with the most extreme thing and work backwards from there. Now, if this conversation sounds familiar, it's because Kamala Harris also ran on the idea of price controls for grocery stores, which is just socialism, of course. It was rejected by voters in every swing state because it doesn't work. But it just won in New York, thanks largely to well-off voters who will never need to shop at a government-run grocery store. That's why the blue-collar workers didn't vote for this communist.
Starting point is 00:15:06 They saw what happened in San Francisco and Chicago and every other jurisdiction on the planet. when people like this are put in power. It ends in widespread poverty and destruction every single time, and that's what's going to happen soon in our largest city. There are broader implications here as well beyond the disaster that's about to befall New Yorkers. Whatever happens in the general election, it's safe to say that less than 25 years after 9-11, New York has been conquered. All of the trillions of dollars we've spent on fighting the war on terror,
Starting point is 00:15:40 all the American lives that have been lost here and abroad have not prevented an anti-American Muslim from taking control of America's largest city. I mean, we've spent the last 25 years bringing freedom and democracy to countries around the globe, while our own country has been systematically invaded, and now our largest cities are run by foreigners and communists. So if you want to know why I'm so avowedly non-interventionist, this is why. And keep in mind, this guy is a legal immigrant. on top of that. We allowed him into this country. We granted him citizenship, even though he
Starting point is 00:16:16 doesn't share any of our values. He hates America. And that's how seriously we've protected the homeland after 9-11. We've rolled out the red carpet for foreign nationals who are going to destroy us from within. You know, if New York City were a country, its GDP would rank around the 12th largest globally. And now there's a very good chance. It's going to be in the hands of a man who hasn't even been a citizen for a decade, who fakes his accents, who sees capitalism, the economic engine that has single-handedly prevented this country from becoming another Uganda as an enemy to be vanquished. This is a man whose own mother has reportedly said, quote, he's not an American at all. And in that way, he has a lot of company in New York City,
Starting point is 00:17:00 where 40 percent, 40 percent of the city's population was not born in this country. Now, hearing all this, you might say, well, New York's always been a left-wing cesspool. It's always been a little dysfunctional. That's not exactly true. I mean, a few decades ago, only around 20% of the city was born in a foreign country, which is still high. Now the number is close to double that figure. And what do you know? Hot on the heels of demographic replacement, New York is poised to have a third world mayor.
Starting point is 00:17:33 The slogans are true. Demographics are destiny. Import the third world, become the third world. It's all true. And New York will learn that when they will learn all that when they have a mayor who proudly tweeted, and I quote, queer liberation means defund the police. He also called the NYPD, quote, racist, anti-queer and a major threat to public safety. College educated New Yorkers, as well as foreign nationals, are the reason he won. There's no debate about that.
Starting point is 00:18:03 Here's just one exit poll to give you an idea. You can see it here. And as you can see, New Yorkers with the lowest incomes were the ones who rejected. Zoran Mamdani, and you might think that the poorest voters would support the socialist, but at least that's what we're led to believe. That's not the case. And that's probably because, unlike college-educated New Yorkers who were taught to despise this country and leach as much as possible, poor New Yorkers didn't undergo all the same brainwashing in these institutions. And as a result, very soon, New Yorkers will discover that, you know, stop and frisk wasn't actually
Starting point is 00:18:37 so bad. The alternative is lawlessness and socialism. which will trigger a death spiral in New York. Wealthy New Yorkers who would be forced to fund all this social experiments that this new mayor wants to undertake will simply leave. And once that happens, New York will no longer have a GDP that rivals most other countries in the world. We will witness in real time the slow and managed destruction of a once-world-class city.
Starting point is 00:19:03 Again, another one. And, you know, that's not something to celebrate, regardless of your politics, as tempting as it may be. I wish that I could just say, as I've seen a lot of conservatives say, understandably, I understand the sentiment, but I wish I could just say, good riddins. I wish I can say that to all the major American cities that have fallen into decay and disorder thanks to their awful leaders and the suicidal idiots who elect them. But as an American, I actually want these cities to be great. They used to be. They could be again. And that's why I have so much contempt for that. I have so much contempt for. the parasites who've destroyed them. These are American cities. That means that they're our cities, too. And these morons have ruined them. Suddenly the fall of Pride Month doesn't seem as significant. The election of a Muslim socialist to be the next mayor of New York City is very clear evidence that wokeness and left-wing ideology are still very much alive in this country. And say what you
Starting point is 00:20:11 will about Andrew Cuomo's disastrous handling of COVID and all of his weakness as a candidate, which was substantial, there's still no other explanation for what happened last night. This primary demonstrates, once again, that the culture war continues. It just moves to new battlefields. This is how the left operates. It shapeshifts and rebrands and grows new tentacles. It finds new Trojan horses. But it's always the same enemy underneath it all. And as New Yorkers are about to discover, the enemy is even more potent and more capable of ruining millions of lives than it's ever been. New York and the entire country has just suffered a catastrophic blow. And if we're going to preserve what's left of America, we have to, as I've been saying, return the focus to what's happening within our own borders.
Starting point is 00:21:03 Which is that right now the invaders are winning. I mean, that's not easy to admit, but it's true. They're going to claim our largest city. And they are a far greater threat to our sovereignty and our security than any country that's 6,000 miles away. Unless we want the entire country to suffer the same fate as New York, we have to recognize that fact. We have to treat these foreign socialists like the moral enemy that they are. after last night we can either choose to fight or we can become Uganda
Starting point is 00:21:38 voters in New York, many of whom aren't even American, have made their choice. Now the rest of us have to stop wasting our time obsessing over whatever's happening across the globe and make our choice as clear as we possibly can. Now let's get to our five headlines. It's built to fuel the kind of strength and grit that modern men are often missing. With 25 grams of premium American-made whey protein and no junk fillers, it closes the gap fast. Here's the deal. Go to responsibleman.com, use code Walsh. You get 50% off your first order. Strong men build strong families and a strong country.
Starting point is 00:24:30 Responsibleman.com code Walsh. And we'll get into the headlines. I will say that to emphasize the point, the most frustrating thing is that now New Yorkers are going to flee in droves even more than they already have. They're going to flee down to Florida or wherever else. And now if you're Florida, if you're Tennessee, if you're Texas, you might want to start building your own walls. We need the big wall on the southern border. Now we're going to need a whole much of other smaller walls around a lot of these states. And this is what they do.
Starting point is 00:25:10 You know, on X, Mike Cernovich said that they're fleeing like locust to devour another host. You know, the New Yorkers will. And I think that states it perfectly like locusts, like bedbugs, whatever kind of parasitic life form you want to use as an analogy. And that's what's frustrating because like here's an idea. Because like, here's an idea. Here's an idea. Why don't you stay and fix your own city? We always hear from like New Yorkers.
Starting point is 00:25:42 They're so proud. They're so proud of to be from New York. And then they destroy their city and they leave. So if you're so proud, why don't you stay there and fix your own city? Have some courage. Have some pride. Have some accountability. Actually engage in some self-reflection and figure.
Starting point is 00:26:03 out why the city turned to crap, what it is that you did to cause this problem, because if you're a New Yorker, this is you. You can't just blame, oh, it's all the politicians. You elected them repeatedly. You kept electing people who promised to destroy your community. So this is on you. It's your fault. The people of New York City, it is your fault. You did this. Your fault. It's on you. You idiots, you did this. And now it's going to get a lot worse. And your lives are going to get a lot more miserable and you're going to be less safe. And you're going to be poorer and everything else and less happy.
Starting point is 00:26:45 And you did it to yourself. Well, why don't you have a little bit of integrity for a change, just a little bit of self-reflection. Okay, come to terms with that. Stay in your own city and try to fix it. Why is it that your city is now a smoldering pile of garbage? It's not just New York, Chicago, Los Angeles. I mean, we could go down the list of major American cities. Cities that, like I said, they're our cities too.
Starting point is 00:27:14 These are American cities. And these were once great cities. You destroyed them. You idiots. So why don't you figure that out and then do the opposite of whatever you did to cause the problem? And it's the same thing for a lot of the immigrants who come here, frankly. A lot of the third world immigrants who come to this country. Why don't you have some pride in your homeland?
Starting point is 00:27:43 You claim that you do. You come to this country and you, and you, you, you, you come to this country. And you wave the flag of the country that you fled from. And you talk about how proud of it you are and you still speak your language and you come here and you try to set up your own little versions of your country inside our country. Well, you're so proud of it. Why do you think about what, why are you leaving? Well, we know why you're leaving because the country is a hellhole because it's totally dysfunctional. And that's why you want to leave.
Starting point is 00:28:11 Why is that? What happened to it? what did you do to it? What did you allow to happen to it? Why do you take some responsibility? Why don't you have some actual pride in your country? Stay there and fix it. Why don't you fight for your countries instead of just running away? How's that for an idea? So what you see with New Yorkers and people from Los Angeles and all these major cities, while you see it on a kind of microscale, you see it on the macro scale too. And the common theme is like people that are in a place and they destroy it And then they don't, and then they just leave and then they go destroy something else too.
Starting point is 00:28:56 Um, and the rest of us, you know, the rest of us who know how to build and maintain functioning communities, functioning safe communities where we can like walk down the street with our families and, and, and feel safe. Like the rest of us, we're supposed to just put up with that. All right. I think it's been a little while since we've, uh, enjoyed some dumb Jasmine clips on this show. usually Jasmine Crockett provides us with at least one segment a week, but she's been slipping lately.
Starting point is 00:29:35 Maybe I have. I don't know, but she's recently this week been having temper tantrums over the Iran strike. And specifically, she's upset that she was not personally consulted about it. And so I'll play two clips of several that I could play. But we'll play these two. And you kind of get the gist. Here it is. Let me tell you, just dropping those few bombs in one day,
Starting point is 00:29:59 That was the beginning of what is going to be a very long bill for us as they talk about being efficient. There was nothing efficient about doing it. And maybe if there was some consultation, maybe with those that say have constitutional authorities since we care about the Constitution, then maybe we could have saved the American people not only money, but the lives that are now at risk as we have to put out warnings for American citizens in this country and abroad. Maybe we need to start leading with the people at the middle of what it is that is guiding us instead of following one person. The reason that people like me say things like y'all are in a cult is because somehow people are abdicating their duties and abdicating the very people that put them into office. And to understand enough about the Constitution to the extent that I'm the one that's supposed to make the decision or at least get a vote.
Starting point is 00:30:57 Okay, so I just want to highlight two snippets there. In the first clip, she says, and I'm quoting here, maybe we need to start leading with the people at the middle of what it is that is guiding us instead of following one person. Maybe we need to start leading with the people at the middle of what it is that's guiding us. Instead of, I have no clue what that means. Like, I don't know what she's trying to say there. I'm not even trying to be difficult.
Starting point is 00:31:33 I really don't know. I honestly don't. Maybe we need to start leading with the people at the middle of what it is that's guiding us. What? What are you? Those are just words. I mean, you're just shouting random words. And look, I know everybody knows where I stand on the question of Jasmine Crockett's IQ.
Starting point is 00:31:56 I think it's very low, in case you didn't know, just to be clear. And I probably don't need to return to that point. but I have to emphasize how incredibly dumb a person has to be to utter a sentence like that. We can all misspeak, we can all flub our words, we can stutter and stammer. But to string together a sentence like that, totally devoid of anything that can be considered a coherent meaning, that just requires a staggering level of pure rank stupidity. And then the second clip, she says that she's the one who's supposed to be making the decisions about launching military strikes.
Starting point is 00:32:33 No, Jasmine. That's not, hey, hey, Jasmine. Jasmine, do you know where you are? Do you know who you are? Do you know what position you occupy? Honest question. Do you know that you're not the president? I'm asking that sincerely.
Starting point is 00:32:52 I really am. I don't even mean it sarcastically. Do you, like, do you know that you are a congressional representative? And do you, because it occurs to me that you, You might not even actually know what position you were elected to. You might not. Well, if that's the case, I should tell you that you are in Congress, you're a congressional representative. So, no, you don't make those kinds of decisions.
Starting point is 00:33:14 The Trump makes them because he's the commander in chief. The commander in chief is, and by the way, commander in chief, that is not like, he's not the coach of the football team in Kansas City. He's the commander in chief. He commands our armed forces, okay? And since we're on the subject, I will say that, and everyone knows how I feel about the U.S. getting involved in Iran. I was against it, him against it. But even so, I don't agree with even the more intelligent people, which is a low bar,
Starting point is 00:33:48 but there have been actually intelligent people who have accused Trump of violating the Constitution by launching the strikes. And I don't agree with that. Even if someone who wasn't a fan of it, I'll still say he had the authority to do it. Doesn't mean it was the right move. But, yeah, of course, he had the authority. He's the commander-in-chief. He has the authority to direct the military to launch military operations.
Starting point is 00:34:11 And obviously, presidents have been doing this since always. And they've been doing it without formal declarations of war or congressional approval. Biden did, Obama did, Clinton did, all the way down the line. which is why the whole congressional approval thing is just such a red herring, you know. And we know that Democrats only complain about that when it's a Republican president. We know that. I mean, Obama launched drone strikes against American citizens. He killed American citizens with drones.
Starting point is 00:34:42 And there was very little pushback from Democrats in Congress at the time. It's not something you hear Jasmine Crockett talk about. So I think all that is just sort of absurd. since we're on the subject of female members of Congress who frequently annoy me, here's Congresswoman Brittany Peterson, and she's the one who's been showing up in Congress carrying her baby, turning her child into a prop, and she's been doing this for months. And it started as a protest ostensibly demanding that members of Congress be allowed to work from home. But she just continues doing it.
Starting point is 00:35:17 So now here she is at a congressional hearing, a hearing on monetary policy with her child on her lap. As a prop, as always, it's a ludicrous site. Here it is. Watch. Thank you for your long service to our country. I know that you've served under many Democrats, Republicans. You've always been nonpartisan and done your job to put our country first, and we appreciate your steadfast leadership. And if you are not reappointed, it will be very missed here. it's hard to imagine that Congress could become any more of a joke than it already was. But then these women like Crockett and this lady, they come along and they somehow turn it into a bigger farce. And keep in mind, Congress has a daycare center that's open like 18 hours a day.
Starting point is 00:36:12 They have high-quality taxpayer-subsidized daycare on the premises. and yet this woman carries her baby around with her. Not out of necessity, but because it's part of this dumb performance. And I'll be the first to say that we need, that society should be more welcoming to young families. I talk about that all the time. Children should be included more often in more ways and more context. Like you shouldn't feel guilty bringing your kid into a grocery store or a restaurant. Right? We've talked about that before. But not at a congressional hearing. I mean, there are places in
Starting point is 00:36:55 society where it's not appropriate to bring a child, obviously, and this is one of them. Now, the response that I'll hear is that Brittany doesn't want to leave her child in daycare. She doesn't want to leave her child at home while she travels to D.C. for work. And I get that. I agree, actually. So go home, Brittany. Go home and be a mother to your child. Go be a mother. Let someone else handle the congressional work. Okay? Like, we don't need you for that. You're not even good at that anyway.
Starting point is 00:37:28 So anyone else can handle it. And it'll be fine. And just to show you how dumb our political discourse is, as though you needed more evidence. I want to read some comments to you like, because I posted about this on X, that she should go home and be a mother to her child. And I want to read some of the top responses to that,
Starting point is 00:37:47 which I think is very, very simple. Like, you're carrying your kid around. You're at a congressional hearing with a baby. Okay, no one has ever done that. We don't do that. Um, and I mean, it's like the, if, if the president of the United, God forbid, Brittany Peterson somehow becomes elected president, which will never happen, given the state of the union, just like holding a baby the whole time. Um, so clearly it's ridiculous, but should be an obvious point, but I just don't read some of these. So, so here's the state of the union. So here's,
Starting point is 00:38:22 a response from an account called Joyful Laughs says, the right told her to have that baby. She did, and now she needs to bring him to work. I don't know what the problem is. Wait, what is that? What is that? The right told her to have a baby? Who on the right said that? Was there some kind of campaign, like, among conservatives to force Brittany Peterson to have a baby? I must have missed that. I missed the rally in the nation's Capitol calling upon Brittany Peterson to have a baby. Not saying it didn't happen. Granted, I don't always see the emails. The right-wing conspiracy, we're all in an email chain. We send emails around. I'm notoriously bad at checking emails, and so I miss a lot of them.
Starting point is 00:39:11 And so there are a lot of updates to the right-wing conspiracy that I don't see. And maybe this one, maybe this is in it. Maybe this was like, hey, guys, we're going to, the next item on the agenda, there's this woman named Brittany Peter. we're going to force her to have a baby. I'll go back and check, but I don't think that was there. Another comment says, wow, did you say that to Elon when he has had his kid with him at the White House? Well, Elon wasn't paid by the taxpayers. He wasn't a member of Congress.
Starting point is 00:39:42 He wasn't bringing his kid to congressional hearings or to testify on the floor of the House. So, no, I didn't say that to him because it's not the same thing. again, not everything is the same as everything else. There are things that are different, and this is different. OMG, heaven forbid, she keeps her baby with her instead of dumping them off a daycare. Maybe if it was normalized, you wouldn't feel so triggered that she used her baby as a prop, retards. Now, I'd be a lot more triggered if this was normalized. Like, normalized?
Starting point is 00:40:18 So we'll just have kids running all over the Capitol? What do you mean normalize? You want to be a normal thing at congressional hearing? is just having kids running all. Every congressional hearing is now like Chucky Cheese. We're going to build a jungle gym in the middle of the of the of the room, have a swing set. I mean, given the average IQ of members of Congress, it sort of is already like that. So maybe you have a point. I don't know. All right. One other thing I already mentioned is an interesting article from NBC News that I've been meaning to talk about.
Starting point is 00:40:49 The headline is this, the strange bedfellows driving and winning the war on porn, feminist religious crusaders and alpha male influencers have turned the tide in the decades-old battle over adult content. So reading a little bit, it says anti-pornography crusaders are on a winning streak. On almost every front, those who argue that pornography is a scourge in society are racking up wins. States are implementing online age verification laws. Some politicians are pursuing aggressive bans on explicit content. Culturally, the viewpoint that porn is not only harmful to women, but increasingly men and the sexual development of young people has made significant inroads. As porn has become more mainstream, so has the discussion around it.
Starting point is 00:41:31 Pop star Gracie Adams said in a February interview with the Cosmopolitan, porn is a BS. It's dangerous, not real, and a performance. It's really dangerous for young people for that to be their introduction to sex. For many, the harms of porn are obvious. Feminists have primarily argued that porn normalizes sexual violence, contributes to the objectification of women, and erodes childhood sexual development. Writing New York Times, Christina Emba, whose work has focused on gender, sexuality and youth norms recently pointed to changing sexual habits among young people.
Starting point is 00:42:00 Okay, so you can read the whole article at the NBC News site. There's a couple of points that come to mind. First of all, the thrust of the article is correct that the movement against this kind of content has picked up a lot of steam recently. It's now much more popular to be anti-smut than it was not that long ago. I mean, I've been talking about the dangers of porn for almost, you know, for 15 years. And up until the last few years, the backlash, as anyone knows who has been talking about it as well for a while, the backlash, even from conservatives, was intense. And it's not that long ago where talking about the dangers of pornography wasn't a popular position, even on the right.
Starting point is 00:42:45 And I mean, I vividly recall it was back, I think it was 2018 or 2019 when I argued that porn should be banned. And the blowback at the time was enormous. Right. It was like, and even now, that's probably not a majority position that we should ban porn altogether. It's the right position. But it's not a scandalous position to people anymore. Like you can say that without which. without being ripped to shreds for it.
Starting point is 00:43:18 And even people who disagree, many of them will at least acknowledge that, okay, it's not a crazy thing to say, but not a, not a long ago. It was, it was a, it was a, it was a, it was like, it was, it was, it was insane. It was an insane thing to say. And that's not the case anymore. What changed? Well, I think it, I think it's very simple. Those of us who were speaking out against porn, we were making the case that consuming this kind of content will bring misery and dysfunction into your life. And it's not the only argument against it, but that's kind of our point. This stuff's bad for you. Like the basic point is, this is bad for you. It's bad for you. It's bad, especially bad for your kids. It's bad in general. And we were right. So misery and dysfunction
Starting point is 00:44:07 followed. There's a lot of people that just kind of dismissed that, oh, you're a Puritan. You're what are you Amish? And they went right along with their porn habit. And after a while, they kind of looked at their own life and said, well, this is like, I'm miserable. It's, it became obvious to people that this stuff is toxic. It's not a good influence on your life. And the second point here is we, you know, we see how feminists are getting some credit here. Reminiscent of the gender ideology fight where feminists want credit for taking a stand against it. The problem is that just like gender ideology, the vast majority of feminists, first of all, still support the evil thing, porn in this case. And more importantly, your crusade against porn, just like the crusade
Starting point is 00:44:55 against gender ideology, will ultimately fail if it isn't grounded in a coherent moral system. Feminists can complain about certain aspects of this scourge, and I'm happy to have them. I'm happy to have anybody on board with the fight, you know, to any extent that they're on board. Like, I'd rather whatever help we can get in calling attention to this problem and hopefully defeating it, I'm happy to have. But their arguments are ultimately toothless and groundless because they are at bottom themselves moral relativist. They ultimately believe that truth is whatever you say it is. And the greatest good in life is to pursue your own pleasure and satisfaction. And as long as you believe that, you will not be able to fully make the case against porn or gender ideology or any other evil thing because the argument for any evil thing is always fundamentally that people should be able to do it because they want to do it and it makes them happy, supposedly.
Starting point is 00:46:00 Only conservatives, religious conservatives specifically have really a response to that. only we can articulate the real argument against porn, which is that it is an assault on human dignity. We are human beings. We're created by God, imbued with dignity. Your life, your being is sacred because it was made by God. And pornography is a desecration. It's the objectification, commodification, and defilement of the human body, the human mind, the human soul. the human person. I mean, that is, that is the argument ultimately against it. And so that all that to say that, you know, we need a critical mass of people making that argument. Because kind of just like picking around the edges of this thing, you know, the feminist argument, oh, well, it takes advantage of women. In many cases it does. I mean, porn industry has done that. But that argument, it only goes so far.
Starting point is 00:47:14 Especially when the more like only fans, it's like, well, it's, it's harder and harder to make that argument when you got something like only fans. Because now you have women who, in many cases, they're not destitute. They're not like homeless. You have soccer, you have well-off soccer moms, basically, who are going into business. for themselves. There's no, there's no Pimp here. Well, OnlyFans basically functions as the Pimp, but there's no, right? There's not, there's no one threatening to backhand them if they don't bring back the money. Nothing like that. So they're going into business, well off or at least comfortable financially, going into business for themselves as as hookers. And the more that that the porn industry becomes that, the harder it is to make that particular case. which is why you have to have the deeper point, which I think that conservatives have, but a lot of the other people who are sort of aligning themselves with us don't have. And let's go to our daily cancellation. We began the show by talking about the Muslim Socialists, who's just won the Democrat primary to become the next mayor of New York City, ran on a platform of legalized theft, as all socialists do. The wealthiest New Yorkers will be forced to pay for everybody else's groceries and rent and sex changes, right but until the moment that those wealthy New Yorkers leave and the city collapses. And we become so familiar with this kind
Starting point is 00:51:18 of crass transactional politics where con artists are elected to public office simply by promising to give away other people's money. It's worth highlighting the rare moments when the opposite happens. Believe it or not, indeed, there are occasions in which elected officials in the United States tell people to take some responsibility for their lives instead of becoming entirely dependent on handouts from taxpayers. It sounds like absurdist fiction as cities like New York descended to third world status, but contrary to all expectations, sometimes there is accountability in this country. And at the moment, the tens of millions of Americans who took out student loans to go to college are coming to this realization the hard way. After years of extensions and promises
Starting point is 00:51:53 that their loans would be forgiven, meaning paid by taxpayers, the Trump administration is starting to collect. They're garnishing wages and destroying the credit scores of anyone who refuses to pay. This is a major victory for the rule of law in this country, as we'll discuss in a second. Here's the Wall Street Journal, quote, nearly two million student loan borrowers are at risk of having their wages garnished this summer. Roughly six million federal student loan borrowers are 90 days or more passed due after a pandemic error reprieve ended, according to TransUnion. The credit reporting company estimates that about a third of them of nearly two million borrowers or near two million buyers could move into default in July and start having their pay docked by
Starting point is 00:52:32 the government. An additional one million borrowers are on track to default by August, followed by another $2 million in September. Education Department restarted collections on defaulted student loans in May, something it hadn't done since before the pandemic. The Department sent notices to borrowers saying their tax refunds and federal benefits could be withheld starting in June if they don't take steps to resume payments. Until past due payments are paid in full or the default status of resolved borrowers
Starting point is 00:52:55 could see up to 15% of the wages automatically deducted from their paychecks, close quote. Now, in order for contracts and loans have any meaning, this is what needs to happen. People who borrow money after explicitly promising to repay that money shouldn't have any choice in the matter. They have to pay back their debts with interest. It doesn't matter what sob store you come up with. People who make legally binding promises should be forced to keep those promises or else suffer the consequences. If we suspend that system, right, as we have done, three things happen. None of them are good. First, private loans become much harder to obtain because no one's going to lend anyone with a remotely suspicious credit
Starting point is 00:53:39 profile. People will have much more difficulty acquiring cars, homes, and so on. Secondly, federally funded loans will become yet another unsustainable form of welfare that we can't afford. And third, tuition will continue to increase across the board since schools might as well draw whatever they can from the Treasury. So it just makes the problem worse. And in the process, that makes higher education even more unaffordable. But there's another reason to support the Trump administration's collection efforts, which is that it will punish some of the absolute worst people in this country in a very direct and tangible way. You take a look at social media and see how people are talking about their student loans right now.
Starting point is 00:54:21 It turns out that once you give people an extension, they want to make that extension permanent. They start concocting ways to get out of their obligations. Now that, you know, they sense weakness on the part of the debt collectors, the government in this case. Who could have imagined that? It's almost if you want an orderly functioning society, you can't grant exceptions. You have to hold people to their promises. Otherwise, you get videos like this. Watch. So as of today, student loans that are in default have basically went into collections and wage garnishment are into effect.
Starting point is 00:54:54 The question is, can you dispute these collections? Yes, you can, and it is you're right. And I'm going to tell you what to ask for. The first thing you're going to ask for is the full chain of custody with, assignment agreements. The second thing you're going to ask for is the original master promissory note with your wet signature or virtual logs. The third thing you're going to ask for is the breakdown of itemized charges with evidence of accrual. The good news is I have a dispute letter where you could actually escalate with the CFPB as well. I made
Starting point is 00:55:25 this very simple for everyone. If you go to the link in my profile, you're going to see where it says buy me a coffee. The dispute letter is going to be right there for you to use. I could customize it for you myself. You're going to see where it says, upload your credit report, and I will customize your dispute letters for you. He's being a little coy, but the idea is fairly clear.
Starting point is 00:55:44 He's encouraging people to bombard the federal government with paperwork requests in the hopes that the bureaucratic process will delay collections. None of the people who engage in this kind of deception are contesting the legitimacy of their student loans. That's very clear from the comments on this video. They're just looking to delay as much as possible.
Starting point is 00:56:01 Other videos that are also popular make this tactic really explicit. Here's one of them. I was curious what was happening with that student loan situation that on May 5th student loans after five years since COVID, people are going to be put, you know,
Starting point is 00:56:16 sent to collections that they don't start paying as of May 5th. Well, here's an update to that. So here's what the Associated Press is saying is that millions of Americans have already seen their credit scores be downgraded because of their default in their loan status.
Starting point is 00:56:30 Wage garnishments will start at the end of this summer. They said 90 days after May 5th is when that'll like officially officially start, which looks to be the first week of August. So that's coming. There's already been reports of people on social media saying that their tax refund is being withheld because of this. Oh, what if hypothetically, with the crazy success of the No King's protest, what if we were able to get like a million student loan borrowers together
Starting point is 00:56:57 to start contacting these agencies, these agencies that have been defunded, staff have been cut and are currently strained for resources because of our current dictator. What if we were to or were able to overwhelm these systems, would we be able to delay them from reporting student loan borrowers to collections? Could that be done? Could we do that? Think about the psychology at play in a video like this. Leftists recognize that the federal bureaucracy is one of their most important assets. the corruption and manufactured inefficacy gives them enormous power. It's been the norm for generations.
Starting point is 00:57:38 And now that the Trump administration, unlike pretty much every other administration in recent history, has gutted the bureaucracy, the left still hasn't moved on. They still think in terms of how the bureaucracy, or lack thereof, can help them cheat the system. So they're openly talking about flooding the federal government with fraudulent documentation, all to avoid paying back debts that they agreed to pay back a long time ago. Now notice there's no gratitude here. There's no sense of appreciation for the fact that their repayments were frozen for half a decade. They don't care about that. All they're thinking about is how to steal some more money.
Starting point is 00:58:18 There's never any sense of personal responsibility in any context. In every single case, the moment you give a leftist something free, they will demand even more free stuff. And they won't stop until you force them to stop. or until the entire economy is destroyed. It's an ironclad rule. It's also the lesson of the great prophetic text called If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. Now, that said, sure, it's reasonable to have some sympathy
Starting point is 00:58:42 for student loan borrowers. I've always agreed with their central complaint, actually, which is that they got ripped off and they were sold in education that isn't worth nearly as much as they paid for. In fact, in many cases, it's worth nothing at all. anyone who's been paying attention to the state of higher education in the last 10 years knows that these people bought a bad product and now they're dealing with the consequences of their decision but loan forgiveness was never the solution to that problem it again only makes the problem worse
Starting point is 00:59:12 it's a surefire way to make the problem much worse in every respect it creates an incentive for colleges to charge more while also encouraging whiny leftist to scam the federal government. The only workable solution, which the Trump administration is now pursuing, is to force these borrowers, no matter how sympathetic or unsympathetic they may be, to pay their debts. That's how you save the next generation from committing, committing to a lifetime of poverty to pursue a degree in black, British literature from Vassar. As is often the case, the seemingly inhumane approach is actually the most humane in the end. And that is why everyone's scheming to avoid repaying their student loans,
Starting point is 00:59:53 even after the Trump administration has begun garnishing wages to collect payments, are today canceled. I'll do it for the show today. Thanks for watching. Thanks for listening. Talk to you tomorrow. Have a great day. Godspeed.
