For as long as Christians have existed, they've been maligned by people who don't understand or who pretend not to understand anything whatsoever about the religion. When the early Christians gathered in secret, they were falsely accused of engaging in all manner of various acts of depravity and debauchery, including ritual, cannibalism, and other invented atrocities. Christianity was a foreign cult in the eyes of its detractors. There was no room for common ground or mutual understanding because its enemies were. were too confused and horrified by a faith that they didn't comprehend. Now, if you watched the memorial to Charlie Kirk over the weekend

and saw the responses from various corners of the left, then you witnessed a very similar dynamic. In a lot of ways, nothing has changed over 2,000 years. For Christians, the memorial signified that an American revival is underway. I was in the stadium along with tens of thousands of other people. I've never seen conservatives this energized. and determined to take back the culture. Every speech for five hours in a row, as you saw,

declared Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Never seen anything like that before. Not at that scale, anyway. Tens of thousands of attendees, from musicians to politicians to turning point staffers to members of the general public were all in the stadium praying together. More than 100 million people were watching online

from across the world on various live streams. And many of these speeches were brought, broadcast across all the major networks. And we've just never seen anything like it. It was really extraordinary. But in left-wing circles on social media and in the corporate press, it was a very different reaction. There wasn't awe or hope or joy. Instead, as conservatives memorialized Charlie Kirk, the left entered a state of total bewilderment. They often lacked the words to describe what they were seeing. And as a result, one after another, many of these commentators misrepresented what Christian said at Charlie's Memorial. They also

stated that for the first time in their adult lives, they realized that Christianity is a major cultural and religious force in this country, one that's completely unlike any other social or political movement that they're familiar with. As far as these people were concerned, it was as though some alien race had dropped down from orbit directly into that stadium in Phoenix. Thomas Chatterton Williams is a staff writer at the Atlantic and a faculty member at Bard College in New York, and he compared the experience to visiting a foreign country, one where he doesn't even speak the language. Keep in mind as you hear the quote that Thomas Chatterton Williams is supposedly a very well-read

and well-traveled individual. He's an intellectual who educates young people. And here's how he responded to Kirk's Memorial. Quote, I've spent half of my adult life living in one foreign country after another, and I don't think I've ever felt so estranged from the surrounding culture as I am from the aesthetic and sensibilities of this movement. Not even a criticism. I just feel more at home in Greece

than in these images, he added. And they were images of the memorial. I feel more at home in spots where I can't read the road signs than here. Now for context, he mentioned Greece. Here's what Greece looks like at the moment.

Socialists and foreigners are flooding the streets. They're waving flags on behalf of Gaza. there's a graffiti with profanity on the walls and they're fighting with riot police. That's the state of affairs in Greece, a conquered nation that spent the past few weeks rioting over a foreign land. But if you're a writer for the Atlantic, violence and disorder on behalf of foreign territories is actually the ideal situation.

That's what you want. So you want to see in America. On the other hand, the Charlie Kirk Memorial is somehow alienating. It makes staff of the Atlantic feel strange. the sight of millions of Christians praying peacefully after one of the most prominent Christians in the country was murdered. That's just too much for Thomas Chattered and Williams. And that raises an obvious question. If he feels that way, why doesn't he just leave?

He feels like he's in a strange land where he doesn't even speak the language. So why not head over to Greece and join the mob attacking police officers and vandalizing buildings? No one in this country would miss him. Our country would be better off without people like him. Seems like a win-win. But apparently Thomas disagrees. Maybe in his next article, which nobody will read, Thomas can explain his reasoning. I don't know.

But again, he wasn't the only left-wing commentator far from it who voiced this kind of reaction. This was a common sentiment on the left. Dan Williams, a professor at the University of Sussex in the UK, wrote something similar, quote, watching the Charlie Kirk Memorial, I'm struck by how extremely culturally distant I feel from this world. Everything about it feels alien, the aesthetics, symbolism, music, rituals, mythology, gurus, ideas, norms, feels like being exposed to the cultural and symbolic universe of a distant tribe. If I reflect on this, it occurs to me that this feeling must be symmetrical, that they must view the kind of cultural universe I inhabit as similarly alien. In a strange way, despite opposing almost everything about this political project, this reflection makes me feel more empathy for what that project must feel like from the inside.

Now, Dan Williams is wrong when he says that this feeling must be symmetrical. Conservatives are exposed to left-wing ideology everywhere we look. I mean, we're used to it. Yeah, it's bizarre stuff, but we're not, it's, we're very much accustomed to it. It's infested the schools, the entertainment industry, the media, and so on. We see it all the time. We understand exactly what these people are trying to do, and we reject it. On the other hand, leftists in general have no familiarity with Christian.

They don't encounter the gospel in their daily lives. They hear Jack Posobic talking about the armor of God. And, you know, it's like these speaking in tongues. They see Erica Kirk forgiving the man who murdered her husband, and they just can't comprehend it. And they come across moments like this from Larry Arne's speech at the memorial. And they genuinely can't understand what they're hearing. Like they don't, it doesn't, it doesn't compute. But this was to me, just so, as we're on the subject. One of the most poignant moments from the entire memorial, a moment that doesn't have the same viral,

is I had to go viral like some of the other moments, but I thought it was quite profound. Watch. You know, a good thing is the thing that has being. An assassin is not a thing that has being. The assassin must give up his humanity to destroy something that has being. Charlie lives on The assassin will die

For people like that Atlantic writer That speech might as well been delivered in a foreign language That's because in leftist culture Destruction is their great vocation They destroy police stations, they destroy meritocracy They destroy the family unit, they destroy children in the womb They destroy the rule of law They don't view destruction and violence as a denial of humanity

They view it as their reason to examine to exist. exist. They talk about it as a positive. They use words like dismantle. This is what they want to do. They want to dismantle. And they certainly don't contemplate the possibility of life after death. So when Larry Arne says that Charlie is alive and that the assassin sacrificed his humanity, like they truly have no idea what he's talking about. They can't wrap their minds around it. I could go through many, many more messages from leftists where they express their state of total confusion. even more than anger, like just confusion and panic about this memorial service. But here's just one more, which received two million views on X.

It's a response to Stephen Miller's speech, which was excellent at Charlie's Memorial. Quote, terms like forces of evil, the good, and the virtuous, reflect a dualistic worldview that pits good against evil, a stylistic device often used in totalitarian ideologies to mobilize emotions and demonize opponents. In other words, if you use extremely basic concepts like good, evil, and virtue, which are fundamental to Christianity and to morality in general, to any concept of like objective morality, then you're basically Adolf Hitler.

This is the kind of attack that only works if your audience has zero familiarity with Christianity or basic logic and common sense or religion at all. And we've seen this kind of attack from leftists a lot lately. A few days ago, I was accused of using Nazi rhetoric. We talked about this. But by saying that some people are friends and some people are enemies, that distinction, a friend enemy distinction, makes you a Nazi, I was told. And now they're using the same framing to go after Stephen Miller. Of course, it's not hard to see what's going on here. They're equating Christians with Nazis and they're justifying the murder of Christians in the process. That's why you do that. These people want more destruction. their ideology demands it. And that's why in just the past two weeks, we've seen three separate examples. Three examples in two weeks of violent terror attacks by leftists. Now, first, of course, there was Charlie's assassination. Then on Friday, a leftist, a lobbyist for public school teachers in California opened fire on a local ABC affiliate after the network suspended Jimmy Kimmel's show for a couple of days.

Yes, he decided to commit a felony because Jimmy Kimmel received a two-day paid vacation. Watch. Well, no one was hurt when at least three bullets hit the ABC 10 station in Sacramento yesterday. Police say the suspect is 64-year-old Annabal Hernandez-Santana who lives in Sacramento. He was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into an occupied building, and negligent discharge of a firearm. The sheriff's office confirms that he was now released on bail today. Here's what we know about that shooting so far. Detectives say three shots were fired Friday afternoon into the ABC 10 building in downtown Sacramento.

Employees were inside the building at the time, but again, no one was hurt. Even with the suspect identified, police say they don't have a motive for the shooting. Now it comes the same week that ABC's network pulled Jimmy Kimmel's late night show from its airwaves over his comments about Charlie Kirk, prompting protests outside the ABC 10 station. So he shoots up a building while. employees are inside. He fires three shots directly into the lobby, and then he's released on bail the same day that he's arrested. And the local news claims that they have no idea about a potential motive. Can't figure it out. But the motive is actually pretty clear. The shooter's social media feeds are

full of anti-Trump derangement. He also left a note behind in his car, which read, quote, For hiding Epstein and ignoring red flags, do not support Patel Bonino and AG Pam Bondi. They're next. CK from above. So he's referencing Charlie Kirk as he makes a direct threat against senior Trump administration officials. And yet despite all this,

Gavin Newsom's California immediately release the man from jail. And more accurately, they probably released him on bail because he made these threats. Probably gave him a pep talk in the jail and told him to get back out there and commit some more acts of left-wing terrorism.

Remember this case, whenever you hear leftists claim that they care about gun violence. I mean, it's a complete and total lie. to disarm you while encouraging as many of their foot soldiers to arm themselves and terrorize the country. It's the same reason that no one on the left called for gun control after Luigi Mangione shot that insurance executive. The only reason that this man hasn't committed any more crimes, we can assume, is that the FBI moved in quickly. They arrested the shooter for a variety of federal crimes, including firing a weapon in a school zone and interfering with a television

broadcast. If the FBI didn't step in, there's a good possibility that this left-wing terrorist would be taking a shot at some conservative right now. That's certainly what other leftists are doing. One day after this attack at the ABC affiliate, on Saturday, a left-wing terrorist shot up a country club in New Hampshire during a wedding party, killing a man in front of his family and wounding several others. And as he did so, the shooter yelled, free Palestine.

Watch. So when you say that he was walking for the party, was this actually at the wedding venue? He was not in the wedding venue. He was in the restaurant. And basically he must have came through, went right, it looked like a target that he was going right for this person. So I feel, I feel terrible for him. Did he address him by name? Did you get the sense that they knew who?

Didn't hear anything. He just came out and said. Yeah, what he said was the children are safe and, you know, free Palestine. So that is three in two weeks. We're witnessing a full-on left-wing attack on this country. And I don't mean that metaphorically. This isn't simply an ideological attack. They've been waging the ideological battle for a long, long time, and they're losing it. They know they're losing it, so now they're turning to violence.

They shot up a Christian school and a Christian church. They killed one of the most prominent conservatives in the country. They murdered somebody at a country club. They fired several rounds at a television studio. They shot at ICE agents, tried to run them over with their cars. They firebombed a peaceful pro-eastern. Israel demonstration full of elderly people in a park at Boulder, Colorado. They shot two embassy staffers.

They torched the residents of the governor of Pennsylvania. They targeted the GOP headquarters in New Mexico with incendiary devices and an arson attack. All these attacks have taken place in like the last few months. And yet there's been no reckoning by the left. They haven't admitted that they have a problem. Instead, by the millions, leftists are celebrating violence. Last night at the Turning Point event in Minnesota, which Charlie would have have attended and where Michael Knowles was speaking, leftists gathered outside displaying these

signs, which you can see here. I'm not going to read them because they're disturbing and grotesque, but they're mocking Charlie's death, just like the hundreds of thousands of people who mocked Charlie's death online over the past few days, because this is what they stand for. They're clueless about what conservatives want, but they're very clear about their own objectives. Actually, I shouldn't say that. There are some on the left who do grasp exactly what conservatives want, although they don't appear to realize it. Here's one clip from an MSNBC analyst talking about Charlie's Memorial. Watch.

What you're seeing here is a movement called Christian nationalism that merges Christianity, as it's been practiced in America for centuries, with a very specific interpretation of what the founding fathers wanted, what Aristotle wanted, going all the way back to the ancients. You saw Larry Arne, who is the president of Hillsdale College, and a proponent of this strain of interpretation of the Bible merge Christianity and protecting the Western civilization values into one and the same thing. It's a very somewhat convoluted argument, but if you distill it into the right talking

points, it really hits you in the patriotic heart area, as it were. Well, actually, that's not very or somewhat convoluted at all. I mean, she pretty much nailed it. Yes, we want Christianity. And yes, we want to protect Western civilization. We want both of those things. And it's completely rational to want both of those things. Christianity has profoundly shaped Western civilization.

This country was founded on the principle that human rights come from their creator, not from the government. It's Christian at its core. It was founded on Christian principles. And as it turns out, that was a pretty good principle to adopt, because we're now the single most powerful and prosperous country on the planet. So yes, we should embrace and defend Christianity and Western civilization. And if you want to call that Christian nationalism, nationalism, that's perfectly fine by me. Yes, we're Christian, we're nationalist. Christian nationalist. Fine, go ahead. You can tell this MSNBC woman is incapable of explaining why any of these ideas are bad. She knows her

job is to denounce Christian nationalism, but she doesn't know how or why exactly. So it's just kind of giggles and says that it hits you in the patriotic heart area or whatever, as it were. And to be fair, that was a more articulate assessment than the one Don Lemon provider on his podcast, which is apparently still a thing that exists. Listen. So what I say now is that what happened in Arizona this weekend was not just a memorial. It was something else entirely. People will tell you that it is about grief.

It was about grief, about honoring a man's life, about faith. And on the surface, you know, maybe it looked like that. Tens of thousands gathered. The music swelled. I'm sure some of you saw it. I watched, I just saw some of the sound bites. There were prayers and tears and moments of silence. But if you stayed long enough for the little bit that I could stay,

and then I said, you know what, I'm out. If you listen long enough and close enough, if you stayed long enough and you listen close enough, you could feel the ground shifting beneath you because that wasn't just about a man who died. This was about a movement claiming divine permission to rule. Now, credit words, Stu, this is the first time that Don Lemon in any context has made an excellent point. He's come a long way from suggesting that a passenger plane was swallowed by a black hole, which is what he has suggested. Quote, you could feel the ground shifting beneath you. That wasn't just about a man who died.

This was about a movement claiming to be. divine permission to rule. That's correct, Don. I agree with you 100%. Charlie's Memorial was much, much more significant than a mere political rally or a funeral. It was an unmistakable sign that Americans, tens and millions of them, are now leading a new American revival. We are rejecting the notion that man can rule without God. We're rejecting the notion that man can determine his own gender or murder his own child or commit acts of domestic terrorism, all of which directly contravened God's will. This is a seismic change in our culture that's so obvious and so profound that even a complete moron like Don Lemon can detect it. That's how monumental this moment is. And the signs

are everywhere. A few minutes ago, I showed you images from outside Michael Knowles' event in Minnesota. There were protesters with profane messages mocking Charlie's death. Now let's look at the event itself and see if you notice a difference. Charlie. Outside, there are a couple of disgusting unkempt leftist demons who are celebrating murder. Inside, there's a packed house of young people who are motivated more than they've ever been in their lives to save this country. In a case it's not obvious, these events are going to continue. The college tours will continue.

Charlie's tour won't miss a single date. This is a mass awakening, the likes of which we've never seen in this country, certainly not in minor history. On the left, they're slowly coming around to realize what they've done. I mean, that's why they're fretting about Christian nationalism, even though they don't understand what those words mean. That's why they're saying that we want to claim divine permission to rule. And it's why they're saying that we're more radicalized than we've ever been. They're hoping at some level it will deny it. They're hoping that we'll call a truce, because after all, who wants to be called a Christian nationalist?

Who wants to be accused of having been radicalized? Well, guess what? We'll embrace that. 100 million people will. That's what Charlie's Memorial demonstrated. When they say that we're nationalists, when they say that we've been radicalized, that we're predominantly Christian,

that we want to protect Western civilization, they are 100% correct on all counts. For once, we are precisely what the left is accusing us of being. And that's been their greatest fear for a very long. time. These people have been terrified of the moment when conservatives would embrace one of these labels that they throw at us, rather than running from it constantly. And that time is here. So we mentioned in the opening, I wanted to talk a little bit about that moment where Erica forgives her husband's killer. You of course, have seen this many times by now, but it doesn't hurt to watch it again. And there's a point that I want to make about it. So let's Let's play that clip again. My husband, Charlie, he wanted to save young men, just like the one who took his life. That young man, on the cross our Savior said, Father, forgive them, for they not know what they do.

That man, I forgive him. I forgive him because it was what Christ did. and is what Charlie would do. The answer to hate is not hate. The answer we know from the gospel is love and always love. Love for our enemies and love for those who persecute us. Very powerful moment. The whole speech was extraordinary.

There's not any superlative that I can heap on it that hasn't already been used and accurately so. Erica's speech was one of the great speeches I've ever heard, period. It was historical in every sense of the term. But this moment has also caused a lot of debate. And for right now, I'm not worried about what leftists are saying about it. We'll get back to that later. But there are people also on the right, conservatives and Christians on social media that I saw who were expressing confusion or disappointment in the fact that. that Erica forgave the assassin who killed her husband. And I saw plenty of comments that said, you know, words to the effect of, well, well, she can forgive him, but I still want him to get the death penalty and that kind of thing. And other people claiming that Erica was, in essence, sort of letting her husband's kill her off the hook by forgiving him. But this is a misunderstanding of Christian forgiveness.

And in some ways, it's an understandable misunderstanding. because the church in the West has been neutered and feminized in modern times, and so concepts like forgiveness have also been neutered and feminized. And the reality is that oftentimes when forgiveness is preached, when it's preached from the pulpit very often, they are indeed preaching a version of forgiveness that essentially means letting bad guys off the hook. The woke DAs and judges who release violent criminal. back onto the streets, we'll talk about forgiveness. They'll talk about compassion. They'll cloak

it in that sort of language. So that's how people have come to understand it. And so when they hear forgiveness, that's what they think. But that is not what forgiveness actually means. You can punish an evildoer. You can punish him in the most severe way possible. You can punish him by killing him, by executing him, while also practicing forgiveness. Forgiveness is not a replacement for justice. And just to illustrate that point, I posted this on X yesterday, I'll make the point here, just kind of an analogy or an illustration. This came to mind immediately when people were talking about this.

But I think about if you've ever seen Lonesome Dove, it's the greatest, I'm sure I've talked about on the show before. the greatest western of all time. Technically it was a television miniseries, but I think it still is one of the great films ever made, top 10 for me. And there's a great scene about midway through the story, I think, by my memory. And it came to mind when I heard, you know, saw some of the reaction to Erica's speech, in particular that moment about forgiveness. So if you're not familiar, the story follows a group of cowboys on a dangerous cattle drive from Texas to Montana. And along the way in the story they stumble across one of their old friends whose name was Jake and he'd fallen

in with this gang of of murderers and horse thieves even though Jake had never killed anyone himself he didn't actively participate participate in the crimes but he was he he was part of this group he didn't stand up to this criminal to his his criminal cohorts he didn't make any real attempt to leave them he just kind of stayed with them and went along with it and that meant that in the eyes of our cowboy protagonists who are, you know, led by two retired Army Rangers, played by Robert Duval and Tommy Lee Jones, in their eyes, he was just as guilty as the rest of them, and he had to pay the same price. Justice demanded that they execute the whole group, the whole gang, including Jake. And in the show, Jake briefly pleads for his life. He makes

the point that, you know, he didn't kill anyone. None of this, you know, none of this was his idea. And he didn't want to do it. It wasn't his fault. But Robert Duvall's character, Gus, had a simple reply. He said, well, you ride without laws, you die without laws. I'm sorry you cross the line, son. And he was sorry. But Gus knew that they had to do what they had to do.

So they put the rope around Jake's neck and they offer him some final words of kindness and forgiveness. And then they hang him. And they left the rest of the gang hanging from the tree as a warning to other horse thieves. but they cut Jake down, they gave him a proper Christian burial, and then they wrote on. It was a tragic moment for them. They didn't want to kill their friend, but they had no choice. He was owed a certain punishment, and justice means giving a man what he's owed. And it was just as simple as that. You were a part of this. This is what you're owed. I wish we didn't have to do it, but we do. You cross the line, son.

and that to me is Christian forgiveness. I mean, that is a, to me, perfectly illustrates really Christian forgiveness. The, and I know you're not going to hear that in a lot of, you're not going to hear that very often. You're not going to hear that scene or anything like it used as an example of Christian forgiveness in most churches. They're not going to say a scene in a show or a guy, where, you know, they hang a guy, that that is a, Christian forgiveness, but it is. It is. The current debate about the concept of forgiveness assumes that we have to choose between punishment or mercy, between justice or forgiveness, but we don't have to choose. These are dimensions of each other. It's not an either or scenario.

To forgive a man who commits a heinous crime, what that means is that you don't harbor hatred for him in your heart, that you're not living with resentment towards him, that you want him to be saved, you want him to go to heaven. And you can feel that way about somebody, even as you're putting the noose around their neck, legally, while carrying out a legal execution. And that is, in fact, the most Christian way to handle violent criminals. That's the most Christian way. It is to pray for their souls and then to send them off to meet God. And then God will decide what happens next. That's justice. And that is forgiveness. Forgiveness does not mean that they don't get punished. That is not what forgiveness means. Now, if I was in Erica's shoes, if God forbid my

wife was killed by some evil scumbag. I would certainly want the killer to be convicted and executed for his crimes, but that wouldn't mean that I would lack forgiveness. Lacking forgiveness would mean, if I lack forgiveness, it would mean that I am living every day of my life from that moment on, boiling in rage and hatred towards the killer. And hoping not only for his death, which is justice, it's a to want that. I should want justice. You should, as a Christian, you should want justice in the world. And sometimes that means that a person has to, has to leave. They have to leave the world. They bought their ticket out. And that's justice. So if I wanted that, it wouldn't mean that I don't

forget him this. But if I'm hoping, if I'm boiling in hatred, hoping not only for this person's death, but also that they burn in hell, that they aren't saved. And they burn in hell for all eternity. then that would mean that I lack forgiveness. And here's the thing. I'll be very honest and say that if I were in that situation, if that did happen to my wife or my child, I feel, and we can't know exactly how we would react, but I feel very sure that I would hate that person until my dying breath.

I wouldn't just want them dead. I would want them to burn in hell and be tortured by demons for a billion years, and then another billion and another billion after that. for all time, which is to say that I think I probably would lack forgiveness in that situation. I can't say for sure how I would respond to such an atrocity if it happened to my own family, but I'm pretty sure that's how I would respond. Just having a bit of self-awareness, I think I would lack forgiveness. I think I probably would be consumed by hatred, like forever towards that person who did that

horrible thing to the person that I love. I probably wake up every morning hating that person, and I'd go to bed hating them, every day for the rest of my life. But that's my own weakness. I admit that. That is a weakness that I think I would have in that situation. I don't think I'd be strong enough to have anything but burning rage and hatred in my heart for the person who harm my loved one.

But again, and that's the difference. So that's also when we talk about how it takes strength to forgive, again, all this stuff now, When you say that it sounds like a cliche, it sounds like, oh, be the bigger man, you know. It's like if you get punched in the nose and you just walk away and somebody says, oh, you were the bigger man. No, you weren't the bigger man. You were afraid. You walked away because you were afraid. You were a coward.

So we use these terms and they don't really mean anything anymore. But there is meaning behind it. And it actually does take strength to forgive. And this is what the strength would be. You know, you still want justice to be done. But the strength, the strength is like the moral and spiritual fortitude to not be totally consumed by hatred and resentment for the rest of your life. That's where the strength comes in. I don't know that I would have that strength.

I think I probably wouldn't. But Erica does. And I mean, I greatly admire that. But again, wanting that person to be punished, punished in the most severe way, the harshest way, that in itself does not mean that you don't forgive. You can forgive and also punish. And that's the point. All right. Our period of national mourning is over.

Jimmy Kimmel will return to the air tonight on Tuesday. It was announced yesterday that Jimmy Kimmel's exile is over. It lasted two days, two business days, right? It was like, what, Friday and Monday. And that was the extent of it. Maybe three days. I'll give them three. Now, we were told that this is the greatest attack on free speech in our nation's history,

which is not a straw man, by the way. Like, that is, that's really what we were told. And this is it. It was a two-day paid vacation. The left's great free speech martyr returns to the air two days later, three days later. Meanwhile, our free speech martyr is dead. He was actually martyred. And yet leftists will look us dead in the eyes, and they will tell us that Jimmy Kimmel's ordeal was a great

attack on free speech than the murder of Charlie Kirk. They will say that. Then they believe it. Which is why every celebrity in the country put out a statement condemning Kimmel's suspension, even though basically none of them did the same for Charlie's assassination. This is how desperate these people are to be victims. It's how desperate they are to find their own martyrs. Because these are kind of the two categories of martyrs that you have on the left. Your martyrs are either Hollywood celebrities who experienced some kind of very brief and ultimately meaningless consequence

for saying or doing something despicable or your martyr is some violent scumbag criminal who died while being detained by police or while being detained by a good Samaritan on the subway those are your martyrs is there anyone on the left is there any example of somebody who was actually a decent human being

who contributed meaningfully to the culture in some way and then was the victim of some kind of violent atrocity and experienced some kind of very severe punishment for their beliefs. Is there any example of that? It's like an actual martyr. I mean, the closest thing you have to a real one is like,

is, you know, I don't know. Jesse Smollett is the realest martyr they have, I think. Because he was actually at least sort of physically attacked. I mean, he paid the guys to attack him, but still, that's the closest you get. But in any case, Jimmy Kimmel's back on the air. Although not on every station, Daily Wire reports, Sinclair Broadcasting Group doubled down on Monday, saying that despite an agreement reached earlier in the day by ABC and late-night comedian Jimmy Kimmel,

their ABC affiliates would not air Jimmy Kimmel Live when it returns to ABC on Tuesday. Sinclair owns nearly 40 ABC affiliates across the country. And while those affiliates will preempt Kimmel's show for the time being, the broadcasting group released a statement indicating that a deal could be reached in the future. Quote, beginning Tuesday night, Sinclair will be preempting Jim and Kimmel live across our ABC affiliates. Discussions of ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show's potential return. So Sinclair won't be putting Kimmel back on the air, although it sounds like they eventually will, you know, probably soon.

So, you know, good news for Kimmel. He gets his show back and he still gets to be, to play the martyr. He's being martyred even as he continues to do his show, a show that nobody watches or cares about. But, you know, tonight's episode will be the most widely viewed Jimmy Kimmel episode of all time, probably. And he gets to do that. and get his $20 million a year, whatever it is, and also play the martyred victim. So it all worked out pretty well for him. Kamala Harris has emerged from hiding.

She's hawking her new book that she, of course, didn't write, you know, obviously. And we can also assume that she probably didn't read it. And that's a situation that these politicians are in when they go around promoting their books, that they're promoting a book that didn't write or read, which is actually pretty normal for them, because most of these people spent years in Congress at some point and passing legislation that they also didn't write or read. And then they eventually do the same thing with their memoirs. So it kind of, there's some symmetry there. So I want to play just this one brief moment from Kamala's conversation with Rachel Maddell last night.

There are other clips that are circulating around of this conversation that I'm not going to bother to play. But this moment I will play. This is where Rachel Maddow asks Kamala about Trump's decision to declare Antifa a domestic terrorist organization. Listen. We've also now in an executive order today having, we've got the president describing Antifa, the anti-fascist. It's not even really a movement, the anti-fascist tactics of a portion of the protest movement as a domestic terrorist organization. What is your reaction to those things? What do you think the appropriate response is to things like that?

Well, in normal times, we should and could expect that our courts would step in when asked to declare the legality or illegality of what the president is doing. because, you know, civics 101, we all know. We designed our democracy the three co-equal branches of government, the executive, legislative, and the courts. So Kamala's answer is not anything, just the typical word salad. But listen to the framing. It's the framing for Maddow. And this is what they do.

Now, when they can't defend the indefensible, they just pretend to be confused. And Maddow acts like she has no idea what Antifa is. which, and this is the strategy now. You know, they can't defend Antifa outright. At least they can't defend it outright on camera out loud. So instead they just deny its existence. Instead, they just do this Antifa?

What is that? Who's ever heard of Antifa? What do you mean? Antifa? I've never, I've never, Antifa? Is that, what is it? Is that a prescription drug? Antifa?

I've never heard of it. No idea. What is this antifa? Tifa thing you speak of. This is the tack that they're all taking. And it's, it's, and Maddow, of course, is not alone. Here's Chuck Todd, for example, with the, with the exact same talking point. Listen.

It's going to be this executive order where they're going to try to create a new classification for anybody on the left who opposes Trump as somehow a member of A&THA and terrorists. Like, this is coming. And I don't think we are fully, now, I don't think we are fully, now, I don't think there's any depth the problem like I don't even know what antifa is I know what the definition of antifa is and I know the word means but it's not a group there is no group no and and so but what's dangerous is it by designating it who's going to define who the group is and if the Trump

administration decides to say you George Soros are a part of this group that I designated and you're like no I'm not and it doesn't matter like they're going to then use that as some sort of potential opening and I think that's that that's what's so extraordinary extraordinarily dangerous about these designations. Like what he did with, look, he's sort of testing the theory of this case with what he's doing with Venezuela and sort of designating this sort of, well, they're narco terrorists. And somehow it allows, by the way, he's using the AUMF as their legal cover on this, which of course is just 20 odd years old. So far removed from what the AMUF was meant to be. I don't even know what Antifa is.

it's dangerous to designate a group when you can't define it. Oh, really, Chuck. Did you say the same thing when the Biden administration declared that white nationalists are the greatest domestic terror threat in the country? Now, white nationalists, there's a group that isn't actually a group and that nobody can really define. Democrats have been railing against them for years, but what is a white nationalist? Is it just any nationalist who happens to be white?

Or is it something more than that? they can't say. Yet they demonize that group, which isn't really a group. Antifa, on the other hand, is a group. It's an actual group. They participate in organized criminal activity. There's even a book called the Antifa Handbook. When your group has a handbook, it's a pretty good indication that that's a group.

Pretty good indication that your group exists is if it has a handbook. which is exactly why when I say Antifa or when Trump says it, everyone knows what he means. You can immediately picture it. Now you can pretend you don't, but you can immediately picture that in your head, right down to like the uniform. And if I'm out somewhere and I tell you that Antifa showed up, you know what that means. And you know what probably happened as a result of Antifa showing up. Now, on the other hand, if I were to use one of the leftist boogeyman terms, you'll have no idea what I mean. If I tell you that the far right showed up or white nationalist showed up, you don't know what to picture in your head.

Does that mean that somebody in a pointy white hat showed up and started burning across? Does it mean that a Nazi in full dress uniform showed up? or does it mean that like a Christian grandmother showed up and started praying the rosary? It could be any of those things. Well, it's definitely the third, actually. It's like, it's definitely the third because the other two don't exist in this century. But you get my point. I mean, the, the terms that they use don't mean anything.

Antifa, on the other hand, that means something. and but they can't bring themselves to just flat out defend this group and their tactics. We've talked on the show today about Erica Kirk's powerful address at Charlie's Memorial, but not everybody appreciated it, as you know.

Many on the left have been viciously attacking her for the last two weeks, and especially over the past couple of days after her speech at the Memorial. So for our daily cancellation today, I want to play a few examples of these attacks because it's important for you to know what we're up against. And we are up against the sorts of people who ruthlessly mock and condemn a grieving widow and feel absolutely no remorse about doing so. These are not fringe voices either. I wish they were. I wish I could say that only a very few random leftists have attacked Erica and that those random voices were widely condemned. by all the normal decent leftists who would never dream of insulting a young widowed mother whose husband was shot in the throat on camera less than two weeks ago. I wish I could say that, but that is not the case.

These are not fringe voices. They are not widely condemned on the left. Erica is the one who is widely condemned. And so these are just a few representative samples. Let's start with this one. This is one of the more mild examples that you'll find. because along with mocking and attacking Erica, some on the left are trying to develop very unclear

and unspecific conspiracy theories about her. Watch. Nothing is a coincidence. Hold on to that thought. Did you know that Charlie Kirk's father, Robert W. Kirk, was actually the architect for Trump Towers? Also, did you know that Erica Lane Kirk won Miss Arizona USA in 2012? Don't forget, Donald Trump ran Miss America from 1996

until 2015. Seeing the correlation here? Now, not saying age difference is a big thing, but did you know Erica was five years, Charlie Sr.? But this is where coincidences aren't coincidences. People, this was so arranged. And there's so much more to Erica Kirk. Kind of like how she was all into basketball,

didn't want to be all girly, never liked to dress up, even cut all her hair off and ended up being Miss USA. How does that happen? How do you go from sports to Miss USA? And then they meet at a turning point event in 2000. where she's interviewing for a job for Turning Point.

Solidified. I got a feeling there's more to the story here. So this giant talking thumb with a soul patch has put all the pieces together. This 56-year-old man with a backwards hat, it's cracked the case. Now, what case has he cracked exactly? Who knows? It's not at all clear what he's even trying to imply here. All he's done is recite random facts from Eric.

as Wikipedia with suspenseful music in the background. And if you're very stupid, you can make anything sound like a conspiracy if you say it with suspenseful music in the background. Even those banal and unremarkable facts become eerie and shocking. Again, at least if you're stupid. In this case, Mr. Thumb wants us to see evidence of some kind of unspecified conspiracy in the fact that Charlie Kirk's dad was an architect and Erica Kirk was a beauty pageant contested. This is strange, apparently, because Erica also played basketball. How could an athletic woman who enjoys sports also be in a beauty pageant? Mr. Thumb is shocked. He's confused. Women who like sports are supposed to transition into men. Wait a minute, are you saying it's possible for a woman

to enjoy traditionally masculine things like sports while also still remaining a woman? What? How is that possible? What is this sorcery? And then Erica went on to meet the head of Turning Point USA at a Turning Point event. What? Aside from the fact that a turning point event is the most logical place for her to have met Charlie, how in the world did that happen? Aside from the fact that there's absolutely nothing even remotely strange or surprising in any of the details he just laid out, how is it possible? How did this really normal stuff happen? Now granted, to a guy who hasn't left his basement or been exposed to direct sunlight in decades,

I guess the concept of people meeting each other in real life is pretty bewildering. So maybe you can see where he's coming from. But as I said, that was by far one of the more mild anti-ERica videos. It gets much worse than that. And I do think, again, it's important to highlight some of these because we have to know what sort of people we're dealing with. And with that in mind, here's a very brief montage of... some of the more vile entries in this genre. Watch.

As expected, Charlie Kirk's wife, who everyone was feeling so soul-yful, oh my God, I don't feel bad for him, but I feel bad for her. Yeah, she's also an incredibly right-wing person who's using this moment to push an authoritarian agenda against the left. Are you all going to realize that the women who marry these freaks know exactly what situation they're getting into? And the reason they get in that situation is because they want to be there. If you felt yourself some warm, fuzzy, positive feelings after watching the white Christian nationalist event yesterday disguised as Charlie Kirk's memorial service, this one is not for you.

And to the maga person who right now is in the comments getting ready to type out, you're just jealous? I don't think you thought that one through. This is Eric Luther. Cue the fireworks. Hey, she held that a little longer than we discussed. Here's where she needs to look up to the heavens. Nailed it.

Did you tell her to do that thing? Like where she mouths her prayer, you know, so everybody can see it. Remind me to tell wardrobe that they nailed it with the white. You know, it's very angelic. All right, she's kind of milking the applause thing. Tell her, get going. Is she on like beauty pageant autopilot? It's giving Amber He?

My job stepped on me. I forgive it. The way she's switching, I'm trying my best to see the authenticity in this woman, but it's so hard. Then she goes on to say, the answer to hate is not hate. The answer we know from the gospel is love and always love. Then she says love for our enemies. Now, all of that does not reflect Charlie Kirk. Charlie Kirk did not reflect love for his enemies.

Charlie Kirk hated people. He openly hated people, and he said some of the worst things. Well, that's about as much as I think anyone can stomach. These are hard to watch. They're hard to watch, almost in the same way that it would be hard to watch a video of somebody vomiting or of sewage spilling out of an overflowing porta potty. It's disgusting. It's hideous. These women in the video are so evil, so deeply wicked, so deeply wicked, so, devoid of love and warmth that you could just you could see it just by looking at them they've been deformed by their own hatred it seeps out of them like acid out of their pores it disfigures them but the videos are instructive um instructive for one because there are so many videos like this and and most of them have hundreds or even thousands of likes and proven comments again these women are not the fringe on the left they are the majority they are the mainstream

And it's also instructive because they are so genuinely confused by Erica. This is kind of the theme of the show today. They're confused. It's like the people on the left that saw these expressions of religious devotion, Christian piety, confused by it. They never seen anything like it. And in a similar way that many of them, like the women in those clips, confused by Erica.

they see a woman deeply distraught over the loss of her beloved husband, and they can't believe that it's real. They call it performative. They assume that it's all for show. They laugh and they scoff at it. And that is not performative on their part. They genuinely can't understand, even on a theoretical level, what Erica is experiencing. You know, Erica loves Charlie. She is reacting exactly as anyone who loves another person would react in a similar situation.

But these women have never loved anyone or been loved by anyone. They look at genuine expressions of grief and mourning the way that, you know, I looked at my algebra textbook in seventh grade. Total incomprehension, which like me with algebra quickly turns into anger and resentment. This is the driving force behind leftism. And it's never been more clear than it's. it's been over the last couple of weeks. This is an ideology driven by people, predominantly women, who have never experienced love or devotion.

They've never received it. They have never given it to anyone else. They are lonely, bitter, full of envy. This is why they want to tear down the institution of the family because they've never had one, at least not a functional or healthy one. It's why they despise marriage because they will never find a man who, will devote himself to them. And even if they did find such a man somehow against all odds,

they would be incapable of giving that level of devotion in return. They are morally bankrupt, spiritually impoverished. They are starving for love and human connection. But even though they starve for it, they don't long for it. Longing is too beautiful. It's too human. For them, you know, the beautiful and human things are out of reach. they starve for a thing that they don't even want.

So instead they sit in their lonely apartments and they snarl and snipe at anyone who has the things that they don't have and will never have. Love, faith, happiness, even grief. They even envy Erica's grief because you can only grieve what you have loved. And these people have never loved anyone or anything. Grief is painful, but it's beautiful. because it comes from love. They have no beauty in their lives at all. They live in total spiritual darkness all the time,

so fully absorbed into themselves that they have become the human equivalence of black holes. They don't emit light. They can only consume and destroy it, or at least they can try. But Erica's light will not be extinguished by these sad, pitiful creatures. Neither will yours, neither will mine.

They'll continue impotently snorkeying. like neutered dogs behind a fence. And we will live our lives of love and faith. We will eventually die and our loved ones will remember us and tell stories about us, carry on our legacies.
