Our latest special and our most important one yet, be available at 1 p.m. Eastern on the dot, free to everybody on YouTube. It's called the real history of communism, the Russian Revolution. Now, we don't release all these documentaries free on YouTube, but with the elections coming up and the rise of communism in the United
Starting point is 00:01:08 States, I want to make this one widely available as soon as possible. We expose how communism can take hold quickly, even without broad popular support. We uncover the mistakes the Russians made, which we can learn from, to prevent a similar catastrophe from unfolding here. And again, it's out on YouTube on this channel at 1 p.m. Eastern for everyone, even if you don't have a daily wire subscription. So make sure that you're there and ready to watch. In the meantime, all these years later, you have to give some credit to a very different show that used to air on Fox called American Idol. It was, I think actually it still airs or maybe it air somewhere else. It doesn't matter. It was billed as a talent show that would produce a pop star. Everybody would be talking about for decades. And a program that would create the next Elvis with a legion of fans who obsess over the start. stars every move. And while the show never produced any talent on par with Elvis or really very few even on par with like the typical Elvis impersonator you'd find on the side of the road in Vegas, it did manage to create Kelly Clarkson. In a brief moment before the monoculture died, something like 20 million people tuned in to watch Clarkson win the title of American Idol in September of 2002.
Starting point is 00:02:16 Something will never happen again, you know, for a show like that these days. And despite the fact that she always seemed, you know, sort of like an AI generated musician. from an age before AI, with song lyrics that are cliches like, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Kelly Clarkson has somehow endured, you know, probably in part because she is actually a talented singer, which is a rarity in pop music these days. So she still has a large, dedicated fan base, you know, maybe not as large as it used to be, but still large in the year of 2026. They're kind of following based on a shared monoculture event that is very difficult, if not impossible, to replicate today, now that everybody has their own personalized algorithm.
Starting point is 00:02:56 In fact, Clarkson's influence is apparently so significant that she could command the attention of the entire world with a very run-of-the-mill social media post about a bad customer service experience she recently endured. And here's what she wrote on Saturday, quote, just drove all the way to Brooklyn to check out this store I thought looked really rad and had a few things in mind to buy. It literally was looked at as if I couldn't afford it and was told he could find something comparable for me.
Starting point is 00:03:20 wow, dude, you're an idiot and just lost a huge sale. But y'all should go check out Art of Play in Brooklyn if you enjoy being treated like Julia Roberts' character and pretty woman. For sure, check it out. Thumbs down emoji. Now, when I saw this post along with 6 billion other people, my first reaction was, like, obviously I don't care. But then my second reaction, if I have to care, which I don't, is that I'm on Kelly Clarkson's side. And that's not because I care about Kelly Clarkson or know anything about her or know anything about this instance. or care about the incident. It's simply because customer service is truly abysmal everywhere now,
Starting point is 00:03:58 just rock bottom. And therefore, I'm going to point out I automatically am on the side of anyone complaining about customer service. If you're saying you had a terrible customer service experience, I believe you and I'm with you. Believe women. That's what I say, at least when it comes to customer service. And I choose to believe that. In truth, the reason this post resonated with so many people has nothing to do with Clarkson or her music, but because pretty much everyone else has come to the same realization. Everyone knows this. It is rock bottom, whether you're at the airport, ordering food, dealing with health insurance, whatever it is, the experience is noticeably worse than it has ever been before, and certainly worse than it was in the pre-COVID era.
Starting point is 00:04:42 So when Kelly Clarkson had a meltdown over this bougie toy store in Brooklyn, many of us are predisposed to agree with her. Not that we actually care about this particular incident, but it's a symptom of a larger problem. It's not because she's a celebrity, but because she's a customer. And we know that customers are generally treated like garbage everywhere. I mean everywhere.
Starting point is 00:05:06 In almost every store or restaurant in America, and it's only getting worse. And it didn't used to be this way, at least not this bad. Now, the collapse of customer service in this country should be studied, and in a moment, and we've talked about it before, but we'll take a close look at what's happening at a systemic level to make customer service so utterly terrible. And that does matter because it's quality of life. It affects how you, this is your experience on a day-to-day basis.
Starting point is 00:05:34 And if it's miserable, that matters. Now, the Kelly Clarkson Bird story, admittedly, deserves some further scrutiny, mainly because the owner of this bougie toy store simply cannot help himself. If you had to design an avatar to represent the quintessential smug, condescending, insufferable millennial small business owner, you wouldn't come up with anything better than this guy. Now, at first, though, the store's response to Clarkson Post seemed to, seemed reasonable enough to a lot of people. So here's what they post on Instagram as they were getting flooded with negative comments and bad reviews by Clarkson's fans. Quote, yesterday, Kelly Clarkson visited us in Brooklyn and inquired about buying Molly,
Starting point is 00:06:15 a one-of-a-kind singing and dancing bird automaton who plays an important role in the magic shows we host here. Molly is permanently attached to the wall and isn't for sale. However, the negative experience Kelly described on Twitter would resonate with anyone who's ever felt judged in a shop at Art of Play. Whether someone comes in to make a purchase or simply look around for a while, they're equally welcome. Imagine our surprise when our small business, small local business was suddenly attacked by 8 million people who've never visited our store. It's been a surreal experience to be the focus of such widespread outrage after just one mentioned by a celebrity. We're going to keep our heads down and hopefully we can clear things up
Starting point is 00:06:47 with Kelly someday. As a talented popular singer, one said, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Now, if you're trying to demonstrate that you're not a passive aggressive, condescending establishment, it's not the kind of reply you want to post. They strongly imply the Clarkson is a complete idiot who wanted to buy a robot bird that was attached to the wall and she didn't understand when the employees told her that she couldn't do it. They don't offer any specifics on this point, one way or And then the next breath, they go on to praise Clarkson as talented and, you know, express a desire to patch things up. Now, for the record, this here is footage of Molly, the robot bird in question. Apparently, it's very popular with bird watchers because the robot bird does a good job mimicking the kind of tiny spastic movements that birds do when they're sitting on power lines or whatever.
Starting point is 00:07:30 So here's the bird that Kelly Clarkson apparently wanted to buy watch. One more time. Bring it on home, Molly. If you're trying to furnish like a torture chamber for your worst enemy and you have an unlimited amount of money lying around, it's a very reasonable price. It's a great way to replicate the feeling of having a bird that somehow gets into your house and flies around the ceiling and annoys everyone by chirping constantly until it finally decides to fly into a glass window and die. So assuming she's trying to inflict an extreme amount of pain on someone, I completely understand why Kelly Clarkson would have expressed interest in this bird. It kind of reminds me of like a toy, aside from the price tag, it reminds me of a toy that some terrorist family member would give one of my kids for Christmas. We all have to listen to the noise incessantly for two and a half days before the toy ends up suffering a terrible and unexplained accident. Or someone completely by mistake throws it in the trash can outside.
Starting point is 00:08:47 That tends to happen after Christmas sometimes with annoying toys. I don't know how it happens. It's the worst thing. Anyway, in her next post, replying to the passive-aggressive-aggressive-bougy toy store, as we continue to follow this saga for some reason, Clarkson explained that the bird actually had a price tag in the store, contrary to what the store is now claiming. Here's what she wrote. Quote, cool, cool, sure, it wasn't for sale. That's the narrative art of play is going to go with. So the whole conversation we had when I asked you if it was for sale whilst pointing to the price tag, whilst? Who uses whilst?
Starting point is 00:09:25 You're an American. Anyway. It's like, what are you going to spell color with a you next? To the price pat tag hanging on the wall with the title, Singing Bird didn't happen as you elevator eyed me, saying in a condescending tone, yes, it's for sale, but it costs $15,000. So if you'd like me to find something comparable for you, I can.
Starting point is 00:09:45 But I'll never happen. And now it's not for sale. Okay, cool. So you're not only rude, you're also a liar. Got it. your store is really cool, unfortunately you aren't. Okay, so all these people are annoying and extremely annoying.
Starting point is 00:09:58 We can establish that to include Kelly Clarkson. And to support her argument, Clarkson posted an image of a $15,000 price tag next to the bird. And, you know, now knowing that this thing costs $15,000, I will also, I kind of have to go back to my joke and stipulate that it's not something that anyone, including myself, whatever, buy my kids for Christmas, but, you know, it is still annoying. Apparently what happened is that the $15,000 price tag didn't apply to this particular bird that was bolted to the wall. Instead, it was giving customers the option to buy an identical bird from the guy who created the bird, his name is Bliss Colb. And then you could have it shipped to your house or whatever you want. The store claims that they explained all this to Clarkson. They also say that they offered her a $2,000 mechanical bird by a German clockmaking shop as an alternative, but that she, quote, didn't stick around long enough to see it. Now, before we look at the surveillance footage from the store, because this is basically the Kennedy assassination all over again in terms of its significance historically to our republic. I do have to acknowledge that at this point, reasonable people, you know, could side with the store or with Kelly Clarkson.
Starting point is 00:11:08 There's room for debate after seeing these social media posts. Clarkson was kind of dressed like a hobo, as you could see there. So it's understandable the store didn't think she had $15,000 lying around. But, you know, she's being kind of typecast, profiled as someone who doesn't have $15,000. But any debate should have come to an end the moment the owner of this toy store opened his mouth and started doing interviews. So this store owner, whose name is Adam Rubin, talked to about 50 different media outlets over the past 24 hours. And in every single one of them, he demonstrated that Clarkson was right. And he's completely insufferable.
Starting point is 00:11:44 I've never been in this guy's store, obviously. It's not really my type of place. and by that I mean I'd rather have acid thrown in my face than go into a place like that. In fact, if I did go into a place like that, they probably would throw acid in my face. So it's kind of the worst of all worlds, really. But in any case, having no experience with this store or any of the people involved and not wanting to ever have any experience with any of these people, it's still clear who the problem is.
Starting point is 00:12:09 So here's one of his appearances where he uses the same talking points from the other 50 interviews he did. starts off by saying that he had some kind of cancer removed from his face, even though that's not really relevant to anything. Then he says that Clarkson has put his staff in danger. So watch this. And also, as you do, pay attention to the way that he's holding his mug. Watch. I'm not even supposed to be here today.
Starting point is 00:12:33 I got a cancer removed from my face last week. I'm getting the stitches out tonight. But we are afraid for the safety of our shopkeepers. Kelly Clarkson has put us in danger. Not just are people showing up in person, but our neighbors are getting doxed and review bound. People are getting threatened on the street. And the worst part is, we didn't know this was going to happen, but Kelly Clarkson did.
Starting point is 00:12:58 So I don't want to focus on an irrelevant detail, but I mean, but then again, this whole story is an irrelevant detail. So I might as well mention that I have never in my life seen a grown man hold a coffee mug like that. Like he's cradling it in his hand. It's like one of my boys picks up a toad in the garden and brings it into the house. But, you know, this is only a sociopath holds a coffee mug like that. Even absent any other details, I would already be against him just based on the coffee mug alone. If I were serving on a jury and he was on trial for murder and I saw him hold his coffee mug like that, I would convict him. Send him to the electric chair on that basis alone.
Starting point is 00:13:40 And it would be justice. I'll tell you that right now. he's also doing the old speech as violence routine that we're all very familiar with at this point Kelly Clarkson has put us in danger he says and with that he has managed to string together a completely unique sentence I'm sure I feel fairly certain that until that moment nobody on the planet either now or in the past has ever said the words Kelly Clarkson has put us in danger so we're breaking new ground now an entirely new path into an unknown wilderness. There's no telling what will happen next.
Starting point is 00:14:19 This guy did a bunch of other interviews, which we won't play for you, because frankly, we've already spent enough time on this, but there is a larger point that we'll get to, I promise. Before we do, though, I should mention that this guy is doing interviews in every available medium. He's even talking to print publications where at least we don't have to see him hold his coffee mug, but we still are subjected to his words. And those interviews aren't going well either.
Starting point is 00:14:45 So this is an interview he did with Curbed, whatever that is. And as you can see, they tried on three separate occasions to get a clear answer from this guy as to whether or not the robot bird was for sale. They asked directly, was it for sale or not? Was the robot bird for sale or not? And this is what he said, quote, we are a non-traditional shop. We work directly with artisans. This guy is an artisan who does not make many things like this. I think that's where the misunderstanding might have come in.
Starting point is 00:15:18 Might have come in. Bliss, called the designer of the robot bird, lives in the woods in a house that he made with his own hands. He's not on social media. He doesn't have a warehouse. It takes him years to make these machines. There are two in existence. This is one. If someone showed serious interests, we would reach out to him about getting them an automaton.
Starting point is 00:15:37 this is not something that's sitting in a warehouse. It's like a piece of sculpture. It's a piece of fine art. It was a very straightforward question. It's about 150 words given the whole backstory of Mr. Colb in response to a very straightforward question. Right? Was it first, you know, it's the who ordered the code red moment? It's who was it for sale or not? Can't answer. But the saga gets even more bizarre when you look into this guy who makes this robot bird, Bliss Colb, who supposedly lives in the woods. Emily Gould in New York Magazine just spoke with Adrian Quinlan, a reporter who's apparently spent some time at the shop, and here's what she found. Quote, I looked up property records for Bliss Colb for some reason. I don't think you can call an aluminum-clad home in the suburbs, a home
Starting point is 00:16:33 in the middle of the woods. Maybe he has an out-of-town workshop, but he's not even listed as owning a vacation home and public records. I love his work, but he's not like living in the middle of nowhere right now. And I do think that Kelly Clarkson could just buy one from him, though it looks like everything on his site is sold out. So the plot thickens. Is it possible the bougie toy store is lying about the architect of this robot bird? Is he doing the Henry David Throw thing where he pretends to live out in the woods while he really spends all his time in a nice house with a laundry machine. That wouldn't be too surprising if it's true. If your robot bird is designed by a hermit living in the woods, that sounds a lot more exotic than a robot bird that's made by a dude
Starting point is 00:17:15 with an Etsy account who's living in a four-bedroom house in the suburbs with a, you know, picket fence somewhere outside Seattle. Scam as old as time. I've noticed that there seems to be a universal law governing when things break. Your car will never break down on a Saturday afternoon when you have absolutely nothing to do. It'll break down when you're already late for something important. Your air conditioning will work perfectly all winter and then stop functioning, of course, on the hottest day of the year. And whatever piece of equipment your business absolutely depends on will inevitably break the moment you need it most. This is just how the universe operates. Now, I can't help you with the laws of the universe, but if you own a business,
Starting point is 00:17:50 I can at least tell you about Cardiff. Because when something goes wrong or when a major opportunity suddenly comes along, the last thing you need is to spend three months begging a bank to give you access to capital. Cardiff makes business funding much more straightforward. Their application takes just three minutes. Checking what you qualify for won't impact your personal credit score and qualified businesses can get approved in minutes and funded the very same day. They funded more than $12 billion to small businesses across America. And if your business has been operating for at least a year and generates at least $20,000 a month in revenue, you can qualify for up to $500,000 in same-day funding. So the next time the universe decides to test your patience, at least
Starting point is 00:18:29 you won't have to wait three months for the bank to make up its mind. Go to cardiff.com. That's cardiff.co slash Walsh, real growth, fast funding, Cardiff, borrow better. The midterm elections are here, and if the DSA Democrats win, they'll push a radical social agenda and drown President Trump in endless investigations. We've seen their playbook before. They tried impeaching him. They tried putting him in prison. They tried everything.
Starting point is 00:18:52 Don't let them win. Because if we lose, they'll undo everything our movement has fought for. I need you to vote early. You can bank your vote and fight back against the left's turnout machine. and go to gopvotes.org right now. Find out when you can vote if you live in the critical Senate battleground states of Maine, Ohio, or Iowa. Early voting is already underway this week. Making your voice heard is easier than ever.
Starting point is 00:19:15 You can get election reminders, look up your polling location, and pick a date to vote early. Go to gopvotes.org today paid for by SLF PAC, not authorized by any candidate or candidates committee. It's also worth mentioning that, as you just heard, the media is, they're doing a lot of legwork on this story. Every publication in the country has a reporter now on the Kelly Clarkson robot bird beat, tracking down every lead, following the footprints, wherever they go, asking the tough questions. If we had a news media even half as interested in world events that actually matter, we'd be in a much better spot as a country. But they save all their resources for stories like this, apparently.
Starting point is 00:19:57 In fact, not to get sidetracked again, this week, the two issues that seem to have gotten by far the most coverage are, you know, Kelly Clarkson and the robot bird. And also, you know, the fact that the comedian Shane Gillis said on SNL that women dress like horrors in the gym, which of course they do. But as we head into a critical election, you know, these are the news events attracting the most attention, which is, I guess, not surprising. And it's also no surprise that somebody went out and obtained the surveillance footage from the incident. And we'll put that up on the screen. I mean, because there's no audio, it's hard to come to any definitive conclusions, but in general, it seems to support Clarkson's version of events. Clarkson is wearing yellow with a backpack. It looks like Clarkson is talking to an employee who has a drink in his hands, who seems mildly interested in talking to her. But then he goes and deals with a couple of other customers, apparently to make a sale. She's left by herself for a little while. So she walks around the store, seems to put several items, which she wanted to purchase back.
Starting point is 00:21:02 on the shelves because no one's there to check her out. And then eventually she has some words for the shopkeeper, probably to say something like, you know, don't advertise things for sale if you can't buy them. Through the customers look uncomfortable and then the footage ends. So that summarizes that. Now, whatever you make of this episode, which is ridiculous for about 10 different reasons, it seems pretty obvious that Kelly Clarkson is winning this PR battle because pretty much everyone has had a similar unpleasant experience dealing with a salesman or a customer support employee. And not just one experience like this, but constantly. Basically, you're a customer and you go to a place or you call a place and they hate you. They have no interest in helping
Starting point is 00:21:49 you. They don't even want to pretend to be nice. They're not going to be friendly. They're not going to try to make you feel welcomed in the establishment. You're walking in there to spend your money and they despise you. Just utter contempt. Very common experience and becoming more common. This is from a Gallup survey in 2024. Quote, 49% of Americans say customer service has gotten worse in the last year. Only 6% say it's improved. As you can see, this finding holds up across every single age range, whether you're 18 or 65 or anything in between, your impression of customer service is that it's getting worse. And meanwhile, according to Forrester, 25% of the brands that they tracked in 2024 and 2025 had statistically significant losses in customer
Starting point is 00:22:35 satisfaction while only 7% improved. This is not simply an American phenomenon either. For the most part, we could certainly blame AI chatbots and are offshoring. It's a big part of this problem, which is why your customer service representative is either a robot or can't speak English. But the problem here is not simply that customer service is getting worse. The bigger issue is that if companies are cutting corners when it comes to customer service, then it stands to reason they're doing the same elsewhere. You know, the safety of every airplane is dependent on maintenance crews. The same is true for roller coasters at amusement parks. As we just saw it six flags over Georgia, these amusement parks may not be especially safe anymore. Watch.
Starting point is 00:23:21 The amusement park operator, Six Flags, says it is temporarily closing nine of its roller coasters at half a dozen parks across the U.S. This follows the death of a person who fell from a coaster yesterday at six flags over Georgia. That's near Atlanta. For member station WABE, Melissa Fato has more. Footage from multiple local media outlets shows park staff evacuating riders from the lift hill of Goliath. The 200-foot hyper coaster opened in 2006. Cobb County Police confirmed several others are injured and the department is investigating the incident. The Six Flags chain has seen financial challenges and leadership changes since it merged with its once competitor, Cedar Fair in 2024. This incident comes on the heels of Six Flags Magic Mountain in Southern
Starting point is 00:24:08 California announcing its retiring its famous fourth-dimension coaster X2. Amid allegations, it has caused several riders serious brain injuries. Obviously, the guy who flew out of the roller coaster is the headline. There are some particularly horrifying pictures of the incident that we're not going to show, but the line about brain injuries at another amusement park also caught by attention. If you look it up, there are allegations that hundreds of people could have been injured by this ride. This is from CNN. Quote, in the span of less than a week this July, surgeons at a Southern California hospital race to save the lives of two women suffering from alarmingly similar brain hemorrhages. The severe injuries were the kind doctors encounter
Starting point is 00:24:49 in patients after high-speed collisions or other violent accidents that caused the brain to twist and slam inside one's skull. Neither woman, however, had been involved in a crash. A fall or such incident. Instead, they had ridden an extreme roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain, known as X2, which draws thrill seekers from around the world, with its rotating seats near vertical drops and unpredictable movements. Among the casualties are riders who suffered life-altering disabilities fell into comas and two who died of their injuries. Park officials, meanwhile, have long-fielded scores of complaints about other head and neck injuries sustained after riding the attraction. Now, none of this has been proven in court, but it stands to reason that these extreme roller coasters
Starting point is 00:25:32 in general can cause brain injuries. Anytime your skull is slowing down and accelerating, really abruptly, there's a risk. And it appears that no one at these amusement parks has considered these risks or is, you know, taking them into account as much as they should. And that shouldn't surprise us. At a fundamental level, amusement parks are kind of weird because we're entrusting our lives to the safety and maintenance standards of random low-paid park employees and contractors who are overseen by executives who are desperate to increase their sales. That's all they care about. Carnivals are even worse in that regard, maybe less with the executives and more with just the random, low-paid people who you're just entrusting your life with them. The risk-reward
Starting point is 00:26:21 calculation, I think, doesn't really work out in your favor as a writer. And as low-wage employees become more and more disillusioned, it stands to reason that the risk is only going to become even greater. We're going to see more and more accidents. Now, that's not to say Six Flags was responsible for this particular guy's death. We don't know at this point. But it stands to reason that these kinds of incidents are only going to become more common. I have some really incredible news from preborn. More than 50,000 babies have been saved this year alone. And through the ministry of preborn, there have also been more than 5,100 commitments to Christ. Just think about that for a moment. 50,000 children who are here today because their mothers chose life. And preborn's president, Dan Steiner,
Starting point is 00:27:05 wanted to share this message with you. It says, because of you, we can invite mothers considering abortion into a pre-born network clinic to meet their baby. And when she has that close encounter of the best kind in her womb, she is 80% more likely to choose life. 80% more likely is an immense difference. This is a clear way to make an impact for families in our country. Across America, pre-born network clinics are putting the gospel into action surrounding mothers with hope and love and providing free, life-saving ultrasounds. And now we want to help them reach the next 50,000 babies. So just $28 can sponsor an ultrasound and help save a baby's lifestyle pound 250, say the keyword baby, that's pound 250 baby, or donate securely at preborn.com
Starting point is 00:27:45 slash walsh. That's preborn.com slash walsh. All gifts are tax deductible. And that said, when I made this point on X, someone replied to me with this post, which raises another important consideration to everyone is overlooking. So I'm going to read part of that post now. Quote, what mainstream coverage doesn't want to get into about the Six Flags death is that both recent high-profile cases of a rider being insufficiently restrained and ejected. from a vehicle involved riders who were morbidly obese and black. It will likely come out that the rider, the ride was mechanically sound, but the restraints were not secured or could not, could not in their position contain a heavy, flexible body when subjected to ride forces. I could find no cases
Starting point is 00:28:28 the past 15 years or so of a mechanical failure being the cause of a rider being thrown from a vehicle. For a low-wage park employee, having to scrutinize a fat guest's restraints or confront a guest to throw them off the ride can be highly embarrassing or risk a confrontation. Workers have to weigh every confrontation with a possibility of becoming the subject of a viral video and fired for insensitivity. I looked this up, and indeed there haven't been many cases of riders getting ejected due to an equipment malfunction in the U.S. in the past several years. In fact, I couldn't find a single one, and instead, the most recent ejection I could find involved an obese 14-year-old child, you might remember who fell to his death at an amusement park ride in Orlando back in 2022.
Starting point is 00:29:13 Watch. Fox 35 investigates some new cell phone video that shows the moments before a 14-year-old died after falling from a ride at Icon Park. All right, so take a look here behind me. This side angle shows Tyree Samson in his seat on the free fall drop tower. You can see in these videos how much higher Samson's harnesses compared to the other riders. The state's accident report says the ride was coming down the tower. And when the magnets engaged, Samson fell out of his seat. But the harness was still in a down and locked position when that ride stopped.
Starting point is 00:29:46 Fox 35 showed the videos to two different experts and their opinions were similar. I see a patron in an amusement ride and that over the shoulder restraint system is not properly affixed. It should have been a closed circuit, if you will, so it came all the way down over the shoulders, containing the person and or resting in their lap at the seat pan. Well, Fox 35 went through the operator's manual as well and find out how the harnesses are checked. Workers pull up the screen and the green means the seat is locked and good to go. The attendants at the ride that night say they did check Samson's seat and say it was locked. Now, one of the comments on that video reads, quote,
Starting point is 00:30:29 as a former ride operator, it's very clear whether or not someone is safely secure in the ride. It's never fun telling someone they're too big to ride, but it has to be done. Upon further investigation in this case, it appears that the ride operator made some adjustment to the seat so that fat people could get on the ride. This is from ABC. The 14-year-old was seated in one of two seats on the Orlando Free Fall Ride, where the harness proximity sensor was manually repositioned to allow for a larger restraint, than the rides other seats.
Starting point is 00:31:02 The rides attendance were instructed to seat larger guests in those seats. So they allegedly relaxed the rules for fat people, presumably to avoid complaints and lawsuits, and now a kid is dead as a result. If that's what happened at Six Flags in Georgia, and again, we don't know, that it's obviously not really a customer service
Starting point is 00:31:24 or maintenance problem in the traditional sense. But either way, it's still related to the broader problem which is that low-wage frontline employees are finding new reasons to stop caring about their jobs. Maybe they're worried about getting canceled. Maybe they're disillusioned by the high cost of living.
Starting point is 00:31:43 They find it impossible to be motivated at work since they know they're never going to be able to afford a home. Maybe they're very aware of the fact that if they get into a confrontation with a customer, then they could end up on video. Whatever the case, the end result for the consumer is a much worse experience and one that can actually be dangerous. Everywhere people go. Even the amusement park.
Starting point is 00:32:15 They're noticing a decline in quality. The sentiment is now so pervasive that a random guy complaining about Chipotle in his kitchen has racked up nearly 8 million views this week. Watch. And I'm telling you right now, there's something going on at Chipotle. Still putting out a pretty good product. I'm not going to lie.
Starting point is 00:32:34 I like the cassidia. They got a locker room issue. These Chipotle employees are not happy. And I don't know what it is. They got no soul. I mean, you used to walk in there. There was life in the place. I mean, had a little bit of like a Chick-fil-A vibe.
Starting point is 00:32:52 station you went to you got a new person at different experience when you got the veggies and there was something there and it's just not there anymore what it is couldn't tell you what I could tell you is it starts up top there's got to be some CEO
Starting point is 00:33:08 or something over there that's got to take a real good look in the mirror and I think we all kind of look the other way because we agree the case of D is good so we let it go but I'm concerned I used to feel like a shucky shucky
Starting point is 00:33:22 cheese in there you walked in there the place was rocking now i like with the cassidia they give you three different slots you choose your options and that's always a tough decision for me guy missed the tomato salsa and i think he knew that i knew that he missed it and i also think he knew i wasn't going to say a damn thing because this guy was gigantic and he looked like he would have smacked me in the mouth if i let him know that he missed the tomato sauce there's a real a going on at Chabot. Now, I appreciate the point this guy's making, and I agree with it, although I don't really understand why he needs to be shirtless in a bathrobe. This is another epidemic that we'll have to talk about some other time. You shouldn't be making videos in pajamas
Starting point is 00:34:09 or a bathrobe or in any other state of undress or lying in bed, as people often do. You should be presentable when you're in public. And when you're making a video, that counts as being in Imagine if I walked into my studio and did my show in a bathrobe and slippers. Actually, don't imagine that. It'll be uncomfortable for both of us. But putting the attire aside for a moment, you know, the reason so many people were captivated by this guy is that everyone knows he's telling the truth. It is exactly like that in Chipotle. Chipotle is one of the worst offenders.
Starting point is 00:34:42 And the food is still pretty good, in my opinion. Still one of the better, like, fast food options that you can go with. but the employees just hate you. And now, in my case, you might say, well, they might actually just hate you personally. And that's true. I mean, that's a wrinkle that I have to deal with sometimes. But this is a universal experience. It's not just me.
Starting point is 00:35:05 And we could insert any number of other fast food chains from subway to McDonald's to Jimmy Johns. And people would have the same complaints. The workers don't seem to care anymore. Many of them are foreigners who can't speak English. A lot of them are high. So instead of young people who are working their first job, you get sometimes adults who have given up on life. And if they've given up on life, then they're not going to put any effort into your burrito bowl.
Starting point is 00:35:32 And they're also not really, there's no incentive for them, especially if they work for these big chains. There's really no incentive for them to treat the customer well because their pay is probably going to be the same regardless. Now, I'm not an advocate for using any kind of government policy to address this problem. other than mass deportations and severe punishments for businesses that employ illegals. And to their credit, while they're not punishing businesses, this administration has taken meaningful steps to increase deportations and secure the border. They don't get much credit for it, even on the right, but it's true. At the same time, it's worth pointing out that over the past two years,
Starting point is 00:36:09 they have also given up on some regulations that, at least on paper, would make things a little easier for Americans who have to deal with some day-to-day annoyances especially when it comes to air travels. This is from the New York Times, quote, in June, the Transportation Department abandoned a Biden-era rule on hidden fees that would have forced airlines to show charges for extras like check bags and ticket changes alongside the full fare during the booking process. A month later, the apartment moved to undo a 15-year-old requirement
Starting point is 00:36:39 that airlines display a ticket's final price more prominently and in a larger font size than other components of the price, such as taxes and fees. Each year from 2002 to 2025, the Transportation Department assessed at least half a million dollars in fines against airlines. The two years since Sean Duffy took over, the department has not issued any against them. I'm willing to concede that these little regulations probably don't matter all that much, but we're still moving in the wrong direction. Air travel is already one of the most regulated industries in the entire country. Every passenger has to surrender their right to privacy just to get inside the building.
Starting point is 00:37:16 So with that in mind, if we're already giving up all this privacy in the airport, why not enforce some basic other rules? Why don't enforce some kind of dress code while we're at it? Why not find any airline $10 million if they let a passenger on board who smells like weed? You know, why not take some step to make air travel more desirable instead of yet another symbol of our decline? The fact that these customer service nightmare stories always resonate and go viral, is a pretty clear signal that Americans are tired of being treated like criminals and hobos in their own country, especially since most of them can remember how different things were just a few years ago. A political party that wants to hold on to power would make some effort at least to acknowledge this very widespread concern,
Starting point is 00:38:07 maybe even try to do something about it. As we talk about in the real history documentary in the Russian Revolution, the single fastest way to ensure that the Bolsheviks seize power is to demoralize and humiliate the population, so they're too disinterested and disorganized to unify against the communist revolutionaries. Bolsheviks don't seize power by convincing everyone that communism is a good idea or sustainable ideology.
Starting point is 00:38:32 They take power by default, because everybody else looks at the status quo and decides it's not worth fighting for. We have to confront that perception or the Bolsheviks will do exactly what they did at the beginning of the 20th century. They don't need to actually win any nationwide election to ensure that we never have elections ever again. They just need people to be frustrated and bored and disillusioned. And with Kelly Clarkson somehow dominating the national conversation more than 20 years after American Idol was relevant,
Starting point is 00:39:03 it's safe to say that millions of people are indeed frustrated and bored and disillusioned. And we need to change that. This is the attitude we need to adopt. This is from James Telerico, town hall in Texas last night. Watch this. And so I can respect anyone like you, who is consistently pro-life.
Starting point is 00:39:23 And I actually think there's common ground we can find here. We may come to different moral and ethical conclusions when it comes to the question of should abortion be legal or not. It sounds like you and I do come to a different conclusion. That's okay. We're both Christians. And the Bible is silent on the issue. issue of abortion. It means you and I both have to look at different scriptures to try to come
Starting point is 00:39:46 to a conclusion. And I just want to add that the Bible is not silent on abortion. There is the Ten Commandments that shall not kill. And as Catholics, we take great insult. I guess sometimes was sprouted that way. So when the communists lie to your face with their little self-satisfied grin, come right back and tell them they're liars. This creepy heretic wants to lie about your faith, and he's making the assumption that you're going to sit there and take it, don't let them. Don't give them anything, even if it might be convenient in whatever social situation you might be in. This is the attitude that prevents the spread of the most deranged and destructive ideology known to man, the ideology that the Democrat Party has adopted wholesale.
Starting point is 00:40:30 And as a bonus, it's the attitude that leads to fewer national conversations about Kelly Clarkson. If we're complacent like the Russians in the early 20th century, we will lose. But if we're willing to fight for our principles, and it really doesn't take much, as this woman demonstrated last night, then these people will have no idea what hit them. That I'll do it for the show today. Thanks for watching. Thanks for listening. Talk to you on Monday.
