It's a rough draft Thursday here in the McShay show.
I've got a few for you, Steve.
You ready?
Yeah, let's go.
We're getting to the point where regardless of quarterback need or trade offered,
the team picking at number one overall should just stick and pick Ohio Statewide receiver Jeremiah Smith.
No.
If the draft were held today and no teams traded up,
no more than one quarterback would be selected in the top five based on the draft order right now.
No.
There's a Texas offensive tackle making a case to become a late first round draft pick.
Yes.
It drives the competitor in you, Stephen Richard Mench.
Crazy, knowing that I'm about to mention that I've nailed my last two, three-leg parlayes on our fan duel pick three segment.
Never hear the end of it.
Never hear the end of it.
Just 203 days until the NFL draft.
That's you good?
I'm good, man.
Hold my beat, tuck.

I am excited to share my bona fideys when we have our Fandual picture.
three segment at the end of the show, but we've
got some things to get to. You
and I were talking. We had a production
call yesterday and
just happened to peek. I don't even
know what got us on. It happened to peek at the
draft order as we were having a conversation
as it is right now.
And it's, you're
watching the games and you know the standings
and you know the records, but then all of a
sudden you'd kind of flip it, flip
the standings upside down.
And you look
and say, oh my gosh, Houston
Texans have the number one overall pick if the draft were today.
Like, what would they do?
Right.
And then you start projecting forward.
Like, what if they actually wind up and they lose enough games where,
and this season just goes completely sideways?
I think most of us expect the Texans are going to rebound.
Right.
The ship, yeah.
And maybe they're not the second team ever to go 0 and 4 and make the playoffs,
but at least be a seven plus win team.
They're that good, you know?
I'm with you on that one.
But what if?
And it kind of led me to it.
And you look at some of these other teams that are drafting up at the top,
and you're like, this thing could, I mean, it could get interesting.
Like the Titans, yeah, I guess here we are again.
The Buccaneers, O and four.
The Chargers could have a top four pick in the draft.
And the Dolphins, as expected.
So let's have a flash mock.
Let's do it.
Flash mock.
Love them.
Quarterway through the NFL season,
we're starting to see the board take shape a little bit.
A lot still to happen.
But let's go through this thing.
I'm not ready to do a full mock draft.
I'm not, we've got plenty of other things.
We get Alabama, Georgia this Saturday.
We get Texas, Oklahoma.
We got a bunch of games.
We're in the middle of the season.
And we're kind of rolling.
But I'm willing to stop down for a flash mock, maybe top five.
Maybe the Jets trade in.
Maybe we'll get through like seven or eight, maybe nine picks.
I don't know.
Let's see.
But let's talk about the Texans picking it number one overall.
Seems far-fetched.
I get it.
But right now, if the draft were held, there are five teams with all four losses that are 0.
And four.
Texans, Titans, Buccaneers, Chargers, dolphins, in that order.
for the NFL draft if it were held today.
The Texans, I think I maybe have misrepresented this,
so I just want to be clear.
At the end of the third year,
on a rookie contract for a first round player,
you have to exercise the fifth year option.
I think I've explained it the wrong way.
So I just want to clarify.
The Texans did exercise C.J. Stroud's option, smart move.
We don't know if we're ready to pay him that kind of money.
that we're paying starting NFL quarterbacks.
He hasn't deserved.
He hasn't earned it.
He did his rookie year.
Didn't his second year.
Didn't his third year, especially another playoff loss.
It didn't look good.
Does not look like an asset at that position.
But so far this year, it's been flipped on its head.
Stroud's playing pretty well.
Now, there's been a couple moments late in games, season opener.
Last week, I think it was.
where you'd like to see him raise the level and finish.
He doesn't.
But overall, like, he's kind of been the least of their problems.
So if you're the Texans, Mensch, what are your thoughts if you wind up with number one overall pick, top five pick, whatever it is?
Are we considering quarterback here or looking at some of the free agent guys coming up?
It's not doomsday for the Texans.
But what direction are you considering here?
Let's start with that.
I'm definitely considering quarterback.
I mean, I don't know how you couldn't be considering quarterback.
There is something that we need to be up front about it,
and that's that the 28 quarterback class could be the class that the quarterback class
that something.
It could only be better in 28 than it isn't 27,
and who comes out is going to play a big role in how teams approach quarterback.
I wouldn't say it could only be.
better. I would say
we're on a very, very, very early
trajectory with a couple of guys in Keelan
Russell and Camario Taylor,
who if they continue
to progress at this rate
could have
higher grades
than the highest graded
quarterback in this class.
And some of these guys go back or all
of these guys go back. I mean, that's a big
part of it, too. And if Arch goes back,
if C.J.
car goes back if
who are the who are the two
that that absolutely
are coming out? Chambleas has to come out
yeah and my ava has to come out
I think everyone else can go back
because of the
the fifth year or the
addition to your ruling yeah okay
like traditionally Nico Iamaliava
from UCLA would have had to come out
but now the new ruling he does not
so I mean it's it's going to be interesting to see
how that shakes out and then that
would be I would probably answer your question in the
opening a little bit differently if I knew that, you know, a certain number of guys were going back.
But like, let's just talk about Stroud for a second.
I think that the beating that he took off after the New England game was unfair.
And he's not that quarterback.
He's not.
And I think that there's now, there's kind of a swing back here of we're going to defend him because he goes out and plays pretty well against Dallas and puts up a decent number.
But look, like, C.J. Stroud, I think, is a middle.
of the road.
Like he's a middle starting quarterback in the NFL.
I don't think he's an elite guy.
I'm not convinced that even with the defense that Houston has had,
and I know the Houston defense hasn't played up to expectations this year,
I get it.
Even with an elite defense and some playmakers at receiver,
I'm not sure he can win you a Super Bowl.
I'm not convinced at that.
I think a good example of, like, just recently,
and I know he doesn't have Nico Collins all the time,
and Nico Collins make a big difference when he's on the field,
and he didn't have Nico Collins.
Collins against the Colts this year, but they needed that win against the Colts.
They needed that win against the Colts.
They were 0 and 2.
It's a divisional game.
Whoever wins that game puts themselves back in the race and has a chance.
And they lost that game and he just was, he was just average.
I mean, he just completed fewer than 60% of his passes.
Under 200 yards passing.
Like, find ways to elevate and get your team the win.
And I'm not convinced that he can do it.
I think he's a decent NFL quarterback.
And if you are picking first overall, you have got to consider, like, I get that they exercise
the option. Are you going to pay this guy in two years? Are you going to pay him $55 to $60 million a
year? Or are you going to take, let's say, for example, Arch Manning and pay him that same amount
over the next four years? That's what we're talking about. Baker got around 53, I think, a year.
Fernando Mendoza got 54 over the course of a four-year contract.
Yeah. That's the important number. Start crunching the numbers here. Like start crunching the
numbers here and tell me what you want to do.
And if you can, if you're going to keep the number there, you can play Stroud for another
year and then have your young quarterback sit for a year and develop.
I think you absolutely 100% have to consider quarterback first overall.
I view it as three options here.
And I think you may like that point on the financials has to be considered.
So you still have next year, lame duck, bring him in.
he can start if he needs to early in the year while you're well you're developing a quarterback so
the three options options i'm mentioning are you draft a quarterback here and you've got stroud
for one more year until you're ready to start your your number one overall pick draft jeremiah
smith and and trade yeah those that to me are the only three options as well i don't see them going
in any other direction.
I'm trying to put myself in Nick Casarios.
Because for this exercise, for this simulation,
we have to assume seasons over,
they have the number one overall pick.
And we can only go off of, excuse me,
the first four weeks of the season, what we've seen.
It's better than what we saw the last two years.
It's not what we saw as a rookie,
but it's good.
It's just not really good and it's definitely not great.
Right.
Here's the other element of it.
And I promise we'll go faster on these other teams.
But this one's tough, man.
This one, there's a lot to get through with it.
It's brutally tough.
Has there been a quarterback eligible in this class
that has played to the level where you're like,
yeah, I definitively love the option of taking this guy?
And I'm not saying it's not.
I'm just saying I'm actually asking.
I'm asking myself while I ask.
you. Has Arch played to that level?
No.
Has Dante played to that level?
I recognize that he had the injury.
He's played really well if you look at it,
but has he played to the level where we're convinced he's going to be better than Stroud?
No.
Also knowing it's a hell of a lot less money for the next five years.
Right.
I mean, I would add that Chambliss has played to that level, Trinidad Chambliss from Ole Miss,
but the size is going to do it.
at 5-10, 5-11, probably 5-11.
Right.
So that's another part of this conversation.
But here's the thing.
You trade-battle, let's say, let's entertain it with who would be the most likely trade partner here.
And that would be the New York Jets because they come up and get the quarterback that they won, right?
They currently have picked number 9, 11, and 12, if the draft were held today.
The ninth pick is their own sitting at 1 and 3.
The 11th pick is from Indianapolis, which is 2 and 2, and the 12th pick is down.
Dallas, which is also two and two.
So yeah, I mean, if you're telling, so if they were to do that and they were going to roll a strout for another year, they could get an offensive tackle, which I think they could take one early, they could get a wide receiver.
They could get, what else would they need, though?
And they would have, they need to improve their offensive line.
So they would address the offensive line.
I mean, this is such a good roster.
Like, it's just underperformed.
Like, the talent is there.
But you can't win without a quarterback.
That's the whole point here.
You know what my gut would say?
Jeremiah Smith is so clearly the best player in this draft.
And it is at a wide receiver position and hasn't seen one overall since Kishan Johnson.
But yeah, I would entertain the tradeout.
If I'm not taking the quarterback, I'm entering.
entertaining the tradeout, but am I walking away from potentially one of the best to ever do it at wide receiver?
And is that position worth, you know, what's it worth?
Yeah, the argument for this, and I think it's a really good argument, is if you have Jeremiah Smith and Eko Collins and some of the other receivers that they drafted,
you're putting, and you can get a damn good guard.
I think you can get a damn good guard in this draft at the top of the second round.
They pick 37th overall, so you addressed your offensive line there.
you now know, you give Stroud one more year and you know definitively.
Like this is just not going to, it's not going to work.
And you still have a pretty good, it looks like you're going to have a pretty good crop of
quarterbacks in that class.
The only issue is though, and then this is why, this is like the mental gymnastics that I do.
Do you make your team so good that now next year you're picking, you're not good enough
to win a championship, but you're now picking 15th, 16th.
You're not, and Houston's probably not going to be here again.
So we can talk about all these quarterbacks coming out the year after,
but they're probably not going to have a shot at them.
So, like, you really do need to, like, that's the thing about this.
You need to make a decision about Stroud now
because you should not be planning on picking early the next year.
I also have to ask this weird question, but who the hell's playing where?
Nico Collins at X and Higgins is that traditional X.
Yeah.
Jeremiah Smith is an X.
So we get three X's?
Yeah.
What would you do?
I'm taking the quarterback.
I am.
Are you taking Arch or you're taking Dante?
I'm taking Arch.
I honestly think I'm taking
Jeremiah Smith, but I'm going to, I'll
roll with you here.
I could roll with you. This could go either way
for me. This is a flip of a coin.
I'm just going to like, again,
if you don't take one now, this is my
only thing that I'll hit home again.
If you don't take a quarterback now,
I don't know who you're getting.
So then you're paying Stroud in a year.
Like that's what you're doing.
you're committing to Stroud if you don't take one in this draft.
Fine, let's give him Arch.
Okay.
I don't love it.
I wish Arch was playing a little more consistent.
But I watch Arch on tape and I am super encouraged.
I am super encouraged.
And I know there's some bad plays in there,
but I think when you look at his arc right now and his progress and, you know,
I just, I think he's going to get that.
It would be interesting.
I mean, if we, if we, if we got to do this exercise on,
maybe we'll revisit this exercise as stupid as it sounds.
You're not, no, no players ever evaluated of one.
But if, if Oklahoma, if Venables dials up some stuff for the defense
that's not played up to the level and all of a sudden he has a bad game in that,
in that game, are we thinking a little bit differently?
Not that we should.
All right.
The Titans conversation doesn't get much easier.
man. You're now in year
two of Cam Wharton. It looks bad.
Be nice.
It does.
Yeah.
Brian Daibald came in
and it has a history
of developing quarterbacks.
Got the most out of Daniel Jones when
Daniel Jones was healthy. Most importantly
in his resume is what he did with
Josh Allen early in his career when Josh was
struggling. Got him through that.
But
but now
he's
we're not seeing that progress
carnell tate has a massive game
that's good to see
this past weekend
but
are you
knowing
Brian and knowing
kind of what the outlook was
I don't foresee
them taking
a quarterback
pretty much no matter how
things go the rest of this year
assuming there's some progress scene
or there's some fallout
or you know
and we're already starting to see
some press conference stuff and
Cam didn't want to be there
and there's hot mics and things like that
so it's it's not all beautiful
and like roses and
cream sickles in in Nashville right now
however it feels like the Titans
beat reporters by the way get a little spicy
it feels like it's been that for a long time
in like you think of that's a small
market, they get a little feisty down there.
They do.
They do.
Yeah, they get that like nasty southern side.
Yeah, they like the team.
You only hear nationally when you live when you live in other parts about like the southern
hospitality and the sweetness and the sweet tea and all those things.
I've been around the south and lived in the south and I've got enough experience.
Like there's a, it's kind of like the Minnesota.
What is it?
Minnesota nice.
Mm-hmm.
They got a little bit of that, like, you know, when there's, when there's blood in the water,
I think, you know, he's got three touchdowns, two interceptions, yards per attempt is 6.1,
81 passer rating.
I don't think it'll be quarterback here.
I think, honestly, I don't know how, how do you pass on cornerback is the bigger need.
But you can't pass on.
Jeremiah Smith here, right?
No.
I mean,
like Jeremiah Smith's not getting farther than this, I don't think.
I think if you're not taking a quarter,
if, oh, let's just say this.
The first team,
whoever that is,
who's not taking the quarterback is taking Jeremiah Smith.
I mean,
I can't imagine it being any other way than that.
And with war,
the thing is it's two head coaches
and two offense coordinators in two years.
You're a first overall pick.
Like,
it's four games in and I get it.
Like,
I'm tempted to be like,
it's like,
we've seen enough.
Like I, you know, I'm concerned.
I am very concerned.
But like maybe we all need to take a breath and let's see where this is at the halfway point, the three quarter point.
Like it's, I think it's a little early to be like, let's get out of Dodge.
And the other thing I'll tell you is I don't like their offensive line that much, especially their left tackle.
I mean, I think they need a left tackle.
I thought they needed a left tackle coming in the season.
I don't think that's changed.
So there's, you know, there's some, they need to run the ball more consistently.
There's all kinds of things to point at for this.
Tennessee offense, and it starts with the ward, but there are other issues involved.
Yeah, I don't think Tennessee, because Jeremiah Smith is sitting there, would entertain a trade back.
I do think after you see Archgo, number one, if that would be the case, the Jets are on their phones.
Yeah.
I think Muji is like, I get the sense, seeing him, the general manager of the Jets,
at Manning Passing Academy,
I,
which is not, he hasn't,
he was only GM for one year.
Not many GMs show up there.
Two years ago when I went,
it was,
Ryan Poles was there,
but his son was also there.
The Bears general manager.
And, and,
less need.
Less need was there.
And they wound up drafting Ty Simpson,
right?
seeing Mugi show up and and be there.
And he's tall.
I told you.
He's a tall drink of water.
I didn't know.
The first time I've ever, like, I don't know him.
And I'm clearly based off of the vault that is the Jets organization,
I ain't going to get to know him, which I think is awesome.
But there's a couple things.
I'm tracking all this stuff and talking to people.
He's been at two of CJ Carg, Car,
cars games already apparently for whatever that's worth he was down there so like there's a bunch
of quarterbacks there and why wouldn't you go down and maybe you start a relationship and and there's
always that worry of like the mannings if if we were to is this one of those organizations where maybe
the family will get involved or you know so i think relations and and just getting and getting to look at
all these guys i don't think i don't think less need was down there for tie simpson interesting
Yeah.
In fact, I know he wasn't, specifically for him.
I think there were some other people, including the host family,
who his son, by the way, his roommates with in Austin.
Interesting.
All interesting stuff.
A bunch of behind-the-scenes stuff going on.
But also has a relationship with Ty Simpson's dad, who's been in coaching forever.
So there's not always ties, but there are some ties that are worth monitoring.
So I'm bringing up the Jets now because I think we're both an agreement.
It goes arch one in this simulation, Jeremiah Smith, 2 to Tennessee.
Now we're sitting at three in Tampa Bay Buccaneers are there.
Currently, Baker's injured.
They just gave them a three-year deal, correct?
Yeah.
$53 million a year.
Right around there.
Three years, $165.
So a little under $500.
I wouldn't totally rule it out if they wind up with the third pick
that they would take a quarterback.
here.
But I also wouldn't rule out that this is where the jets say we're going to trade up,
not because they're worried that the charges are going to take a quarterback at four,
because they're not.
Or the dolphins,
yeah, the dolphins could take one at five.
The dolphins could take one, yeah.
So maybe we revisit this in a pick to get ahead of the dolphins,
but also knowing that when you're the jets and you're picking it six,
did I say nine before,
they're picking it six in this simulation.
than 11 and 12
that you might want to be getting up ahead of air
you're not trying to get ahead.
It's just Miami.
It's Miami is the team you're trying to get ahead of.
So with all that said,
what do you do if you're the Buccaneers?
I view edge still as a potential need.
I think they need a difference maker
at receiver in the passing game.
Corners need.
looking down the road?
What do you think?
Yeah, I think.
Talk about mismanaging a situation.
This is what peer pressure does to you.
I think you have to extend Baker.
You have to extend Baker.
You have to do it.
You guys are competitive.
You guys want to go to the playoffs this year.
Well, now you're sitting here and you gave the guy a three-year deal.
And I love Baker Mayfield.
But do we really have to give him that extension?
Like, you give him this extension.
You pay him that money.
And now you're still owned for,
and you're in a position where you might be drafted.
to get a quarterback early.
I still think you have to go quarterback here despite that contract.
It kills me.
Or you take an edge, but are you going to take Colin Simmons?
Let's say Colin Simmons from Texas this early?
It's either quarterback or tradeback, in my opinion.
Like you can't, I don't know what else you're going to do.
Like, you could take a wide receiver.
So let's say the Cam Coleman is your second wide receiver or Charlie Becker is your second
wide receiver.
Do you want to take them third overall?
No.
I mean, I think you're hoping the Jets call.
at that point, right? If you're not going to take a quarterback,
you're hoping the Jets call. Do we want to pull
the trigger on a trade right now? Do you want to do that?
Let's trade. Let's do it.
I think that makes the most sense. Here's the interesting part.
Is it Dante or is it C.J. Carr?
God, I mean, again, I love Dante more. I think it's C.J. Carr.
And I want to see it's difficult.
I actually think it might be.
But I think it's C.J. Carr. And it's not so much of a knock on Dante Moore
as it is that
CJ Cars has been so lights out
and again, the level of competition is concerning,
but he's just executing at a different level.
I'm looking up what it would cost the Jets.
So the third overall pick going from six to three,
the third overall pick last year at least,
we'll call it, and again, this is,
it's always going to cost more than this.
and this is just the outdated yet everyone still references the the Cowboys trade draft
uh trade chart value chart um the third pick is 2200 6 pick is 6500 they've got picks 11 and 12
so like 12 and 6 yeah even though that's because 2,800 it's vastly over but it would take that
I think so so the Buccaneers trade back to six and we'll make their six pick for them
it's part of this exercise but um but this becomes the Jets pick at three and we're going C.J.
Carr love it I love that me too all right so pick four QB car uh pick four is the chargers
I think you stick, you pick, and you draft
you draft Leonard Moore at cornerback.
I don't hate that.
I hate it for the Saints because I think they want him to fall to him.
And I think that's sort of like that, like that would be great
if the Saints could get him.
But I don't think he's going to, I just don't think he'll last that long.
I mean, the other option here is what?
I think we're Joe Ortiz right now.
We're not worried about the Saints, you know.
No, I know.
I get it.
I get it.
I'm just saying,
You're 100% right.
Would you consider a wide receiver here?
Yes.
I would consider a receiver.
I'd consider, honestly, I'd consider an offensive lineman.
They can't stay healthy at tackle, man.
Yeah.
But I just think you have to trust your board.
You get an opportunity to draft one of the guys.
Whether you view them as stingly,
CERTan
You know
He's a second best player on our board right now right
I believe that's true
Yes yeah he's been since since the jump
It takes something to move them off to be honest with you
All right so number four would be LAC
Taking the Notre Dame
Excuse me today
Huh
Notre Dame cornerback
Leonard Moore
Yep
All right so we've got Archmanning going one overall to Houston
and what might surprise some people.
We've got Tennessee sticking at two,
taking Jeremiah Smith.
Two years in a row,
number four overall pick on Carnell-Tayton
and number two overall pick on Jeremiah Smith.
If you can't work with this, Cam, get out of here.
The Jets trade up and they give the 12th pick
to move from six to three.
The Buccaneers.
12 and six to move to three, yeah.
Yes.
Now, the Buccaneer is currently,
are sitting on the board at pick six and 12,
and the Jets get their quarterback and CJ Carr at three,
and the chart,
and also still have pick 11,
and the Chargers pick Leonard Moore,
the cornerback from Notre Dame.
Now pick five, Miami.
Is it quarterback,
or are you still trying to build this roster?
I mean, I think he could take best available player
and continue to do that.
I mean, when I said at Miami GM,
John Eric Sullivan,
and I think he's done a good job of that so far.
I think you can continue to do that.
I actually hope you're hoping that one of the more Smiths
or a quarterback someone loves falls to you
so you can trade back and do that.
And Malique Willis says like the contract runs to 2008.
It's not like it's up, like it'll be up in a year, you know.
There's an argument for doing it.
But again, I'm of the mentality.
And I think you should be of the mentality
that you can't worry about next year right now.
And if you think that Malik Willis isn't your guy,
then you've got to take one now,
regardless of that two years left on the contract.
I just believe that because you're saying to yourself,
I'm not going to be back here.
Here's where I am with it.
My quarterback, given the circumstances, understandably,
and also I've seen a lot of the flashes.
There are some brilliant things that Malik is doing here and there.
Here and there.
My quarterback's thrown for 712 yards,
a touchdown, two interceptions,
and completing 56% of his throws.
Yeah.
I drafted really well last year.
I'm going to draft really well again this year.
If Dante Moore's not ready to start immediately,
despite going back for another year and all those things,
I don't have to throw them out there to the wolves.
I can bring more of a hero's entrance,
six games into the season when we're one in five or two and four.
And Malik can, unfortunately,
getting paid a lot of money
to be the fall guy here.
Yeah.
I think that's the route you go
because you're not guaranteed
that you're going to be picking this high.
There's no guarantees in 2028.
And also, I'm looking at it like,
I need a corner.
The cornerback just went off the board.
I could use another receiver.
That would be awesome to have Jeremiah Smith.
That guy's off the board.
I need an edge.
Yeah, Colin Simmons could be it.
But what if Dante's the guy?
right
I think Dante Moore's the pick here
I did not foresee this being the case
I thought there was a situation
in which we had just one quarterback
in the top five I thought it could go
Jeremiah Smith number one
I think he could go
Leonard Moore number two
I thought the bucks could like stick and pick
and take Colin Simmons at three
yeah the Chargers could stick and pick
and take an offensive lineman
at four
or a Will Echols
The defensive line, honestly.
And then Miami takes a quarterback at five.
But this is how it's playing out.
Can we just say this about Malik Willis?
Like, I think, again, like, you're in a position to maybe pick a guy that you can,
like, you want to take you to the Super Bowl.
Like, the Malik Willis signing in this offseason was very interesting to me
because of how much interest was in a guy that I didn't think had shown,
really, that he deserved that kind of money.
Or, like, the production did matter.
the contract, to be honest with you.
And if you feel like you made a mistake about that,
don't make it worse by not taking a guy now.
Don't feel like you need to stick longer there
because, you know, you sign this bad deal.
Let's rip through these one in three teams.
Now that we got one in the mix,
I don't feel right stopping there.
Tampa Bay, we traded them out of their spot.
Who are you taking now, knowing their needs?
We talked about Edge, Playmaker.
I think you take Colin Simmons
and hopefully Rubin Bain turns things around,
and now you get two young guys at Edge, right?
Yeah.
I want to rip through these because we've already gone way too long.
So we'll go Colin Simmons there.
Next up would be the New Orleans Saints at 7.
You mentioned that cornerbacks in need.
I think, honestly, they need interior defensive line.
They need linebacker.
They need corner.
I think they would go Will Eccles here.
And I think people, you're the only one.
who that I saw who was screaming Will Echols before the start of the season.
Guys, a dude.
Yes, he is.
Tell you another dude, I'm going to tell you about interior defensive lineman coming up on this show.
There's another day.
Oh, nice.
Today.
I can't wait.
Okay.
I'm not ready to go top 10 yet.
But there's a JJ Watt comp that I might slap them with.
Okay.
We'll see.
Uh, so the Saints,
a Hall of Famer comp on them.
Saints at seven take IDL, Will Eccles.
Yep.
Washington.
They're picking it at eight.
Do you take a swing at Dylan Stewart here?
Tough because of the situation, man.
But you're seeing that kind of talented edge.
You just don't find them a lot.
I don't know.
I think you might take a swing at Dylan Stewart.
Their secondary sucks.
Yeah.
Their interior offensive line has been no good.
Little rich for interior offensive line, I think.
But edge is an issue.
What about Yonse Pierre?
I really like him, and he's the first rounder all day.
I just don't know if it's that early.
Who are you taking a corner?
Ashton Hampton from Clemson?
Yeah, but corners, unless you're Leonard Moore,
corners are falling a little bit in that like 12.
Feels a little early for those guys.
It does.
feels a little.
And wide receiver, I mean, don't forget
wide receiver.
I think five point seven yards per attempt.
They own nine 20 plus yard gains.
Is it?
The backup quarterback context matters, but.
Yeah, should we at least, I don't know.
I just don't see him doing it and I wouldn't do it.
Like you wouldn't consider a quarterback there, right?
If the right one fell to you.
Not yet.
I feel like it's worth saying that I,
I wouldn't like it's, I don't want to duck that question.
No.
Like if you're Washington,
yeah,
you might say like,
should we think about it
because of how banged up he's been and all that.
And I'm talking about Jaden Daniels,
obviously.
I'm not ready.
I think.
No.
No.
So I just want to,
yeah,
I don't want to duck it.
Best on the board of the,
I mean,
Trevor Goosby,
if you want to kick him inside
or feel like you kick one of your tackles inside as a possibility.
And honestly,
God,
they've got to protect Jaden Daniels.
Connerly is playing better this year,
by the way, at right tackle.
Yeah.
So they could, you know, they can put Goosby at left.
I can't put Dylan Stewart in there yet.
Let's give him Gooseby.
Let's give him Gooseby.
I'm good with that.
And then Arizona.
We'll find out a lot more about Carson Beck
and what they really think of him as the season progresses
and they're one in three.
And he's going to get his shot to start,
I would guess, minimum eight games this year.
I'm not.
I like Carson Beck
I'm not he's not my guy for
I'm taking Chambliss here
yes
even though there might be some organizational trauma
of taking a shorter quarterback by the way
if you're an Arizona fan you're like here we go again
Kyler Murray was awesome
awesome in college and didn't work out
I think Trinidad Chamas is a completely
different kind of player
the only the only comp you can really make there
is their size or their frame
of being on six foot
Last question.
Yes.
Would you consider flipping
Carr and Manning?
Do you think CJ Carr could be the first overall pick?
Not yet.
Got.
There's phases to this, Munch.
It's phases.
You got to warm up to it.
I'm hanging on to that, haven't I?
Who's picking 10th?
Who's picking 10th?
I don't even know.
I can pull it up right here.
It's got to be a,
It's got to be a one-one team.
Comer wants us to do an hour and a half on this.
Hopefully he's enjoying it because he clearly,
normally he's yelling us to get out.
Cincinnati, Bengals.
Yeah, Cincinnati, yep.
He's not a wide receiver.
It could be your LSU offense attack.
Jordan Seaton?
Seaton, yeah.
I'm a little higher on Trevor Locke from Iowa,
but everyone loves Jordan Seaton and he's the better pass blocker,
so that wouldn't, it wouldn't surprise me.
Your boy, Yonsei Pierre, I think,
has a chance to sneak in here.
Yeah.
I think it would be Ceeton.
I think you've got a top 10 pick here.
I would go Seton.
I don't hate it.
But Pierre would make sense, but yeah.
Also, no, two offense.
This is the other thing that happens, man.
This is also very realistic.
These offensive tackles, I'm telling you,
it's a good group.
And the idea of two getting in the top 10
is not, no stretch,
despite all the talented quarterback and that wide receiver.
I mean, we're here, so we might as well do it.
You prick.
Dan.
We can't get to 10
and then not the two teams
that were involved in a trade.
The Jets are picking at 11
and they've already gotten
their quarterback.
And we know the Jets outside of quarterback,
front seven,
O-line depth, maybe.
But wouldn't you bring in a wide receiver here?
Yeah, I mean, if you got a,
you got one of those two there?
Let's give him Charlie Becker.
Obviously Garrett Wilson.
I think that would actually be a good fit.
I love it.
And then you're now, well, that was it a, yeah, that's at 11.
So the Jets then at 11, get this graphic ready, Tucker.
I can't do administrative here too.
So it goes, Archmanning number one overall to Houston.
The Tennessee Titans take Jeremiah Smith.
They get another wide receiver.
Jets take quarterback CJ Carr and a little bit of a surprise move
that mentioned I both agree on.
Chargers at four take Leonard Moore, the cornerback from Notre Dame.
Miami at five takes the quarterback Dante Moore.
Didn't expect him to be there.
He's there.
Colin Simmons from Texas, the edge rusher goes to Tampa Bay,
which traded out of three to six,
picked up the 12th overall pick and still gets Colin Simmons to go opposite Rubin Bain,
and hopefully Bain can turn things on.
Will echoes the Ole Miss Interior defensive lineman goes to New Orleans at 7.
Washington takes an offensive line.
lineman in Trevor Goosby from Texas at eight,
and Arizona gets its quarterback in Trinidad Chambliss from Ole Miss.
It would be Jordan Seaton, 10 to the Bengals.
11 would be wide receiver Charlie Becker for Indiana going to the Jets.
And then the Jets traded that 12th pick plus six to move up to get their quarterback
in C.J. Carr at number three.
So now the Buccaneers have the 12th pick,
and the Bucks after already getting Colin Simmons the edge,
And the Bucks needs include with Ed Strassoff,
Playmaker, cornerback or quarterback.
That would be so messed up if we then,
with the second pick,
we wound up giving him Darien Mensa.
Yeah.
It could be corner.
Let's go Ashton Hampton here.
Okay.
Yep.
I think Ashton Hampton would make sense.
Although I could see,
it would come down for me right now in this moment,
having to make a eight-second decision,
it would come down to Cam Coleman or Ashton.

Advanced Scouting.
We do this every week, every Thursday.
on our on on on rough draft across the upcoming games identify a pretty highly graded prospect that you you want to
reveal what you've seen on them and what the expectation is this Saturday like what if you're in
the audience you're watching one of the bigger games what is it the the player that munch is pumped
to watch and you think that there's some like it could be revealing right yeah what do you got
I got UCLA quarterback
Nico I Amaliava going up against Oregon.
That's a good one.
And you see this, it's an Oregon defense is talented, man,
but they've given up some yards.
They're,
their NFL draft prospects have had good days against them.
I mean,
Drew Mestemaker from Oklahoma State had a big game against him.
J.
J. Miava, despite not being able to get the main in that game,
put up some numbers in that game.
That,
both those games were away games for Oregon.
I mean, he's got to,
but Nico's got to go into Otson and play.
And that is a different animal.
And it does make for a different challenge.
I will say that.
Also, Eusele has been really a ground.
It is a run-heavy offense.
They have the best.
I'm also sure people know this.
In the Big Ten right now,
they average more rushing yards per game than anyone else.
More rushing touchdowns, too.
I think Oregon's going to be able to slow down that running game.
I think their pass rush is going to be a problem.
There's also some things during tape that I was a little nervous about.
I feel like he's,
Nico's in his first season.
Dean Kennedy's system, and he's not trusting some things.
He's not letting it rip in certain situations, most obviously at timing routes outside the
hatches.
He can press in certain situations.
He puts too much zip on some balls.
But overall, I am encouraged by Erico's play.
He is, and you talk about that pressure, I mean, he makes plays in the face of pressure
consistently.
I mean, he could change his arm angle.
this is a tough kid who will stand in and take a hit.
And then you add you add the ability.
I almost feel like he's gotten thicker too, Todd.
I don't know if you've noticed that.
Like he was a borderline scrawny kid coming out of Tennessee.
I feel like he's a little stronger in his lower half.
He will make plays in the face of pressure.
I'm excited to see him do that.
I think that he's making more layered throws.
Again, too much philosophy on some passes,
but I'm seeing some really nice layered throws.
And the downfield accuracy in the Purdue game is,
is the best example, has gotten way better.
Oh my gosh, it was so bad.
Way better.
Yes.
It was.
So it's an exciting opportunity for him.
I'm excited to see what he can do.
And if he can, you know, show that he's on the level of some of these other guys
because in terms of raw talent and ability, he is like, he's got early first round
skill set.
We fell off the map a little bit last year.
Remember this summer I came back to you and said, obviously, we're, we're, they,
didn't throw the deep ball a lot last year with the previous regime.
And I think it was intentional because it was, you know,
let's mask our players' weaknesses and accentuate their strengths.
So we kind of, everyone knew that deep ball accuracy was an area we wanted to see improve.
But then like you think back to the big games and playing to Tennessee,
like he felt like he was like knocked out of them or like kind of struggle to finish some games,
scrawny, lean, all that stuff.
And then he gets this mercenary tag
And he and maybe people in his camp
Or there's his dad or whatever the real story is
Or like pay for play, give it you know
Yeah
And so I'm always looking
When you when you have
We're always looking for it period
But I'm always looking for
Does he play like that?
Does he play like the rep?
Remember I came back to you the summer
I'm like this guy's a tough son of a bitch
he will fight through it.
And he'll make a mistake
and he'll mentally tough and bounce back from that.
He's not afraid to rip it when he needs to.
If it's there,
even if he's made two big mistakes,
he'll take a chance to make that.
So I always like that,
beginning in the summer off of last year's tape.
I kind of like that about him.
It's kind of like us versus the world sort of thing.
You know, like fine.
I'm at UCLA now.
I took some money.
go bleep yourself.
I'm going to fight till the very last round of this thing.
We can go 15 rounds if you want.
I'm going to fight.
He got his ass kicked when he was at Tennessee
in that Ohio State playoff game.
I mean, just kicked.
And he just kept going and going and going.
And it was almost tough to watch.
Yeah.
So that's a good one.
That's going to be a fun game to watch.
And I don't know if going into Eugene second time
and not such a long period of time
that for Bob Chesney after JMU,
I don't know how that thing's going to end,
but I think we're going to be in for a four-quarter
at least like enough of a fight.
And I think Nico is going to be a big part of that.
I agree.
I got a guy for you, man.
Is this the...
Here's the deal.
Devin Tompkins, you did a preseason report on him,
and you liked them.
You did.
You liked him.
I want to make that perfectly clear.
You liked them enough.
where there was like, yeah, let's get him.
He's right there in the edge of a top 50.
And we wound up, I think not, I think he was like 51 or 52.
Right.
Because we wound up doing like 55 evaluations.
And we had to, we just did organic grades cut off at 50.
And he was like literally right there on the line.
I think we had to actually like pick a guy or two with the same exact grade as him.
And he just got cut off, right?
So I studied your, your evaluation before I watched the tape.
did a little background check on him, right?
And I don't mean like character.
I mean just like, what's the bio?
What's the story?
I knew he came from USC.
At USC, he's now a fifth year player.
He was four years at USC, right?
From Tracy, California, native, standout hoops player
who came back to football late in his high school career
and played his senior year at Edison High School.
And was just a three star.
because he didn't have like the years of tape and all that, right?
Played some football as young, then became a basketball star, but went back to football.
So he goes on at USC, appeared in 28 games during those four seasons at USC.
One was a red shirt.
He played 13 games, six starts in 2024.
So he's starting to kind of get into it, right?
24 tackles, two and a half for loss, one and a half sacks.
2025 has a little bit of a better year.
31 tackles,
six and a half tackles for lost, three sacks, right?
And then I put on the Alabama tape this year,
and I read what you wrote on him.
And I'd seen him,
but he's a whole different animal in Tuscaloosa.
I don't know if it's the off-season of development.
I don't know if it's that combined with utilization,
renewed confidence,
it's just another year playing football
after being kind of late to the party in high school.
I'm not saying he's J.J. Watt.
I am saying like there's some similarities on the tape.
And I was racking my brain watching it.
Like, when's the last time I watched like a six foot five,
290 plus pound guy who's playing three technique,
one down, left defensive end the next,
stand up edge the next,
rushing off the right,
rushing off the left, winning with power bull rush off the edge,
then winning with a dip and rip move off the edge,
then kicking back inside the three technique,
arm over, penetrate, disrupt.
I'm a Janze Pierre guy.
And if I don't fix my throat today, I'm going to kill somebody.
I'm a Janze Pierre guy.
Tompkins has been more impactful.
And Pierre's been awesome, too.
And so I studied Jonse Pierre's tape.
And my God, the numbers aren't as great as I was hoping for you.
I had the big interception, but I haven't heard a lot.
I've watched, but I haven't studied his toy.
I did his cut-up reel.
He's been awesome.
He's rushing off the right side, left, dropping into coverage, got the pick six.
He's playing off-ball linebacker, blitzing the A-gap, like literally, like superhuman,
but get off of me, pressure, sack, all the stuff.
He's doing all of it again.
But Tompkins has been more impactful of the two, or just as, however you want to do it.
And reading your report, knowing what I knew of them from USC,
I certainly didn't expect to say the words after five weeks of the college football season.
Tompkins is just as big a problem for the opposing offense as Janze Pierre is who we're talking about as a potential top 10, top 15 pick.
Yeah, I mean, he had a monster Kentucky game.
I think he's as responsible for that second half just surge in Alabama turning it on as anyone else on that.
roster. I mean, he was unbelievable in the Kentucky
game. I'm not ready to go
that early with him
because I just don't know. I'm not even
know. I'm not even, forget
the draft for a minute. Okay.
He's a player that you and I
are going to, are going to
revisit and I promise you the grade
will look a lot different and will be a lot
more, a lot more north
than
top 50 French.
He's going to be in the top 50.
He's going to be in the top 32 if I have
something to say about our board.
If he continues this play...
He won't go that early. I don't think he will.
I really don't. Okay. Okay.
I love him. He's a good player, but we've seen so many of these guys,
these talented 300-pound defensive linemen,
and we're like, every year, we're like they're going on the first,
and almost all of them slide into that early second round range.
It just happens.
Fine, fine, let him slide. You know who else did? Gabe Accus,
and everyone else can shove it up their ass.
You know what?
Honestly, you've been so disciplined about not bringing it up,
but now that you do, I'm just going to, I'm going to give you some respect.
He might be the best, he might be the best rookie defender in the league.
Like he, like, forget, I mean, I understand.
Sonny and Arvel have a couple things to say.
But yeah, they, I know.
I get what you're saying and you're right, and I'm not ignoring them, but I'm telling you.
Like, he on, he is, people, I think there's a lot of talk about Sonny and Arvel, and there should,
Arvel the other day, it was insane.
Gabe Ok is, he is
everywhere, everywhere.
He is disruptive on almost every
play.
Hey, Tucker, clip that for me.
So if I'm having trouble sleeping at night,
it's like a lullaby.
It's a lullaby with the dulcid tones of mention
his beard singing to me.
I'll fall asleep in minutes.
It's so comforting.
So I want to fast forward just because Saturday is Saturday.
I said this before in the show.
I was on Wake Up Orstool this morning.
like I want everyone in the country to hear this.
I don't think we're going to see a unit versus unit opportunity like the one we see
with Alabama's offense going against Georgia's defense, right?
But I'm also pretty pumped to see this efficiency, like this gunner stocked in.
We're going to run the ball.
We're going to play action and all that because I think this Alabama defense,
which I just told you, Georgia's defense is for real.
It's not seven, eight years ago, but it's the closest thing we've seen since the Jalen
Carter and the Jordan Davis and that crew.
I think Alabama defense is every bit as good.
And it starts up front with that front seven.
But it goes beyond that, honestly.
I mean, you start to look at like, first of all, who are the linebackers?
Luke Mets, number four, is a sophomore everywhere.
Caleb Woodson, number seven, playing pretty well.
This true freshman, Xavier Griffin, who's getting a little bit more run every week.
He was freshman in the week last week for Alabama.
led the team in tackles, yeah.
Dude.
You can't control yourself.
You know that, right?
I know.
We're launching right into an Alabama defense.
We don't even get to like...
We're getting to him now.
Breaston Howard, Damien Brown.
But my point is, this offensive line for Georgia has been really good so far by standard.
The first five weeks the season, they've been continuity.
First six weeks last year, they had a different starting lineup each week.
week. This year, there's continuity. They're playing well together. They got Bobo at center.
Who's like a ninth year senior. They got, um, they've got the tackle Ernest Graham,
who's a, uh, Ernest Green, the third who's a fifth year senior, but, but mixed in with true
sophomore, Don Trello, Glover at left guard, ups and downs. Zikee Helton, who I, we featured
awesome story. Go look up his third grade teacher and what he's been through. But Zaike
Helton, the true freshman starting doing a good job, but still a true freshman at right guard.
Juan Gaston Jr.
True sophomore.
There's inexperienced at three of these five spots.
And now I've got this guy number one.
I don't know if he's lined up at three technique, five technique, wide nine.
And I've got Yanzi Pierre.
I don't know if he's lining up at edge.
I don't know if he's got a hand in the dirt.
I don't know if he's blitzing the A gap from off ball linebacker.
There is going to be some problems.
Yeah.
It wouldn't bother me as much that you do this if you didn't give Comer so much
crap at the beginning of this. I mean, giving them crap for extending this show and then you just
launched into a full Alabama. I lost my mic too. I'm so excited. This is what we've decided is
going to be our cross check from now on. And this is not a hockey term. This is what NFL scouts
from the region, right? You have your southeastern region. So I cover all these schools and I go in and I
spend time with the waiting, the wait staff, the everyone. But at the end of the day,
what happens in this with the cross check is you after you're done with the season and you turn in all your grades
you then are assigned a position to go cross check that's how it works in scouting so i'll be talking
to a southeast scout during the season we'll be talking about the players in his region then i'll
catch up with them at the senior bowl or the combine and he's got like defensive ends or the edge
rushers or he's got like the corners you know what i mean and so they break it that's how the cross
So we're going to call this cross check, right?
Right.
And part of our scouting process is cross checking prospects, right?
So now it's time for guarantee takes brought to you by AT&T.
Staying connected matters.
That's why AT&T guarantees their network.
If there's an outage, they'll credit your bill.
But more on that later.
Mench, who's your prospect for guarantee take this week?
is Texas right tackle Melvin Siani.
Interesting background with this dude.
He grew up in Canada.
His dad's from Cameroon.
So they started his,
he started his sports career as a goalie in soccer.
And until he was 15,
he was 6'3 foot 3 and weights 170 pounds.
Okay.
So, I mean, like six years ago,
this kid weighed 170 pounds.
He has now listed at 6-6-317.
Start his career at Temple.
then you know, but Wake Forest last year.
Now he's at Texas.
He's played left tackle.
He's played right tackle.
He's playing right tackle right now.
I am a Kenyana Jackson Jr.
from Ohio State is a good player.
And if you throw on that tape, Ciani, I mean, it wasn't close.
Siani got the better.
Really?
And again, not all that close.
What I really like about him is he's that big.
His ability to bend a little bit.
For a guy who's that tall, he can bend a little bit.
He could sit down and anchor at the top of his rush.
I like that.
I think he changes directions well enough to take away inside moves.
His timing and punch need to be more consistent.
The timing and accuracy of his punch need to be more consistent.
But when he gets his hands in, hands on you, it's over.
I mean, he locks down on guys.
The Tennessee tape, a little concerning about speed beating him off the edge.
But if you watch that tape, clearly they were having a hard time timing that snap with the noise.
because he was late getting out of his stance.
It was more of an operational issue than a physical issue.
As a run blocker, he can duck his head, he can fall off blocks or some things he's got to
clean up in terms of his footwork.
But all of the traits, all of the traits to be dominant, dominant run blocker in the NFL
once he cleans it up.
And it's not a red flag now.
I'm not looking at him like, this is a project as a run blocker.
I'm seeing it as he's pretty good now, but there's room to get a lot better.
I'm assuming you said that this is the guy you think he could be a late.
first round pick, I agree with you.
I think he's going to be, he's
another guy. Listen, this draft,
the top 50 is going to be
hard to, like, when we update it,
there's going to be some tough conversations
because there are a lot of talented players.
Yeah, and the next release on
the ringer.com slash McShay will be the top 75
and we're trying to figure out exactly when that will be.
What will communicate it to you.
But we're, like I just wrote up two players today.
One of them was an update on Devon,
The other one is this slot receiver who's playing outside at Vanderbilt named Junior Cheryl.
I was considering mensch taking Siani, but you took him.
And I'm glad you didn't.
I'm glad you like him, right?
Yeah.
So I pivoted.
I'm glad I pivoted.
I found a pretty good player.
And I was told from some scouts about, you got to watch Siani also told that this guy's
having, like he's taking his game to another level.
and his name is Junior Cheryl, Vanderbilt wide receiver.
And why did I pick him this week?
Well, it's coming off of a really good stretch to start the season,
but also Ole Miss 330 ESPN.
I know we're going to, that's up against another big game,
but what's to get excited about in this Vanderbilt game?
Maybe, hey, never know.
What if Vandy hangs around?
If they do, it will be because Cheryl had a big imprint on this game
against that Ole Miss secondary that's given up some big plays, right?
Cheryl's only 510 in a quarter, but he's 200 pounds.
He's thickly built.
And he's not a burner, but I would say plus speed, like a 4-48.
I think he was estimated by the preseason scouts is like 4-4-5.
Backstory, Lipscomb Academy, remember?
He played there under Trent Dilfer.
And he was the Division 2AA Mr. Football in Tennessee.
big time recruit, but still because he's only 5-10, he's a three-star goes to Vandy.
First few years, he did well.
First two seasons, he had like 20, he had, sorry, 49 catches combined.
Last year in 2025, he has 54, so almost kind of doubles up on what he was doing year-in, year-over-year of the first two years.
This year, though, he's on a torrid pace.
28 catches, averaging 17 yards per catch and three touchdowns.
two things jumped out about him as a route runner.
One is he's got this stop, start stuff.
And it helps him get in and out of breaks,
but it makes him play faster vertically as a vertical route runner
because he'll just mix in as he's going down the field,
kind of tempoing his routes,
and then all of a sudden he'll do like, do this, and then go,
and he's got the cornerback to make a false step.
Then the other part is, as I'm watching,
and it takes a little time to start to appreciate it, right?
Cheryl has like quarterback instincts at wide receiver,
whether it's scramble rules, play breaks down,
working back to his quarterback,
or it's soft spot in zone or a breakdown in coverage.
He's like not only recognize it,
but it's like head around, arm up, let's go, connect.
His ball skills are really good.
I wouldn't say elite.
He doesn't have a huge catch radius.
One ball he didn't track perfectly.
another couple he led into his body,
but he does go out and pluck and transition quickly.
He catches and contested.
He's made some great, like, adjust traffic things.
And he can create a little bit after the catch.
So he's a mid-rounder.
And I'm not, like, snubbing my nose at that.
Like, he, but I think he's worked his way up from a grade that would be equivalent
in the preseason to, like, later day three to, like,
oh, this guy's really developing.
Now, like, am I going to threaten to be a top 100?
if not, I'm going to be fourth, fourth, fifth round.
I think he can be a number four receiver in the NFL.
I'm excited to see him against this Old Miss defense this week
and see what he can do.
With Curtis, a quarterback in that situation,
but he's a true difference maker that Ole Miss has to account for.
Yeah, we just saw how important depth is in the NFL,
like the New England game with Efton Chisholm going down after, you know,
you got A.J. Brown out and Mac was out and Mac Collins was out.
Like, those guys can win you games, man.
Those guys are super important.
Those guys you find in the middle to late rounds
that can make plays for you.
So this is where it's important to remind everyone.
AT&T connecting changes everything.
We appreciate AT&T being a sponsor.
I'm an AT&T guy.
I won't mention the other carry.
I had them for a while when I was in my 20s and 30s.
Nightmare.

Mench, kick us off.
I won't remind you what happened last week or the week before.
Kick us off with your three picks this week for the pick three for Fandual.
I'm going with a Friday night game.
I usually stay away from these.
But Iowa going to Washington, and Washington's a three-knap-point favorite.
kind of a head scratcher for me.
I think that maybe they were looking at that as Iowa got blown out by Ohio State last week.
Maybe they're not as good as we thought they were.
Like Washington has not been a good football team.
I mean,
they're own two in the Big Ten.
They beat a one and four Utah State team at home by two points earliest the year.
They lost to Minnesota at home.
I feel bad for DeMont Williams watching those games because he's trying to do so much.
It's just not a very good overall football team.
I mean, Iowa on the points, I think is a no-brainer for me.
I'm not backing off Kentucky giving L.
LSU a game. That's eight and a half.
Give me Kentucky in the points. I just feel like
they're going to make that tighter than people might realize.
And the last one I'm going to go with is Tennessee and Arkansas.
This game's been really tight the last two years.
Last year, Tennessee, I think one by three, the year before, it was five.
So Tennessee, you know, is winning these games, but it's been a tough matchup for them.
I think Tennessee pulls away.
Everyone's worried about the quarterback situation.
Josh Heippel has a name of a starting quarterback.
I don't think it really matters because Tennessee's running the ball so well.
Arkansas is struggling to slow down.
on the run.
And I, and maybe this is just because I watched Tennessee against Texas in that pass rush.
Tennessee's pass rush is for real.
It is for real.
I think they're going to make KJ.
Jackson, the quarterback from Arkansas a little uncomfortable, maybe pressure him to making some
mistakes.
Give me Tennessee in that game comfortably.
Okay.
It ain't DeMond Williams, by the way.
I was watching that game the other night after our show.
And DeMond's just battling and fighting and everything.
I mean, he lost the strip sack.
But like, come on, man.
What else can he do?
He's been going to war every week and keeping them around in games.
It's frustrating to watch because I know, you know, Jedfish recruited well,
but it feels like a disconnect this year.
All right, my pick three.
If you like winners and you like winning three-leg parlayes,
like the last two weeks, we've...
So...
You're always teasing the lines, though.
I feel like it's cheating, but it's fun.
Yeah, I move two all.
Alt lines. Still, I'm going over plus 400 to win these. And by the way, one of them I needed. Both weeks, I needed it. So I'm not doing it just for fun and losing out. Anyway, shut up, Munch. Missouri. Missouri's at three and a half right now on Fanduel. I'm probably going to alt that to two and a half, just in case. Let's put pressure on Marcel Reed and putting pressure on him by first down, second down.
not letting them get on schedule with the run game, Texas A&M,
and as Missouri forced him into some third and longs,
where it's obvious passing downs,
and that's when you create pressure makes the pipes burst, you know, for Marcel.
Missouri's averaging 447 yards to A&M's 356,
three sacks per game, to A&M's one.
This is a matchup I really like, Missouri.
Minus three and a half currently,
check out at McShay 13 is where I,
give out my my picks on Friday that have won two in a row.
And we're so far north of 500 this season.
It's starting to get embarrassing.
Thank you.
North Dakota State.
I'm going off the grid a little bit here.
North Dakota State.
I'm having a good year, by the way.
First year in the FBS, having a good year.
They are, and I like them.
Held Wyoming to 162 total yards last week.
Nathan Hayes leads them.
Mountain West and pass efficiency.
Average is 8.6 per attempt, Mench.
Nathan Hayes, maybe he's next in line.
I like North Dakota State.
This UNLV team is, it's actually the line jumped out at me because UNLV and
what they've put together there and the recruiting that they've done.
It's at minus three and a half right now in Fandul.
I'm probably going to bring that down to two and a half for both of the
these games. Then Vanderbilt.
Cheryl got me excited, man.
Ole Miss is going to go one of two ways
in this game. It's going to be
kind of sleepwalking in. We had the tough Florida
one. It's Vanderbilt.
Or they're just going to kick their ass.
But I'm going with, they're going to win,
but it's going to be like uncomfortable at the end.
one score, maybe by nine, something like that.
I get Vanderbilt plus 10 and a half.
Vanderbilt allows 342.
It's not ideal per game, but it's not bad compared to Ole Misses,
giving up 405.
Like, Ole Misses' defense.
And this is what I'm worried about,
is Golding going to have a little extra time to get ready for this one,
and it's going to, all of a sudden,
we're going to see the defense that you thought you were going to see
with Will Eccles' wreaking havoc.
but yeah, I'm going with with Vandy here.
So those are the three.
It doesn't matter if you're in Alabama, South Carolina, Texas, California, or Georgia, Mench.
Fandul is there.
That's right.
Fan duel is nationwide this football season, so go get in on the action.
All right.
It's been a fun one.
It's been a long one.
Comer.
Yeah.
The two of you.
Saturday night, we'll be back after a huge day of college football.
Hopefully you'll watch the games and we'll be with you after the games with our reaction show Saturday night as we always do.
Mench, five stars, brother.
Thanks, man.
