Starting point is 00:02:21 inaugural and when you get to a second annual, you know that it worked during the inaugural, right? So on Christmas Day, we will bring you the second annual redraft of the 2025 NFL draft this year. Last year we did 2024, obviously. And the McShea report is out. Google it, the McShay report. Please subscribe. We'll get you through the college football playoff and we'll be, heavy in the NFL draft. Had one on Sunday following round one of the college football playoff also we'll just we'll slide right and kind of like Santa in the chimney right slide right into your inbox on on Christmas morning I you know me I love family I know Mench does the beautiful beard he's family Santa he's love uh but you get to a point on Christmas day where you're like I could
Starting point is 00:03:06 maybe get my mind off of things I'm sitting on the couch everyone's running around playing with their gifts whatever you have you whatever have you and we'll uh we'll have some content for you to to read through So excited about everything going on, but I'm also excited about this inaugural, the All-Mixie show team. I say that right. I think so. The All-Mixie show team. We'll figure it out.
Starting point is 00:03:30 We'll figure it out. But I love doing it now because we're wrapping up the college football season, but I also want to revisit it in early April and see because, like, that's my guy. That change is, you know, not it won't be everywhere, but most of these. positions. My guess is maybe that's my guy will be different or we'll have another, that's my guy, you know, because you just, you fall in love with players when you sit here four or five hours a clip watching a single player and every single snap that they had and doing the cutups and the breakdowns and all that stuff. So it will change as the process goes,
Starting point is 00:04:05 but as the college football season ends, we're here to present to you the inaugural, the all-Mixie show team. Here's how it works. We're going to, we're going to, we're going to We're going to try to make it a consensus. And where we don't have consensus, we'll have a second team, all McShay show player, right? There's not a ton of rules to this. And I'm sure we'll refine like the college football playoff. You make a mistake.
Starting point is 00:04:31 It's not beautiful the first year. You want different seating or maybe we shouldn't have two group of five teams in it. And we'll make some adjustments here too, I'm sure. But this year we're going to go through quarterback, running back, two wide receivers, tight end, an offensive tackle, and interior offensive linemen. Then we're going to stop down and do our Red Star player. I'll explain that to you in a little bit.
Starting point is 00:04:50 Then on the defensive side, we'll give you an edge, interior defensive lineman, a linebacker or a cornerback and a safety. Okay. Those are the positions we'll go through. Either I'll start or mensual start, offer up a player.
Starting point is 00:05:04 The other person will follow, and we'll try to come to a consensus, create, build a team, and you'll have some second team players as well because we're passionate about a lot of these players, All of these players that we're talking about. All right. Let's start with quarterback, Munch, and I'm going to start with you.
Starting point is 00:05:19 I'll let you kick it off. I feel like I've been started. Anytime we've been doing a draft or anything like this recently, I've gotten the first pick. So you get to choose. Pitch to me who, and oh, the most important thing I left out. Yes. It's not, listen to me clearly.
Starting point is 00:05:37 Stop down. Put the kitchen knife down. Pull over on the side of the road. Pause the T-Chi. TV in the background, whatever you got to do, whether you're watching on YouTube, Spotify, listening on Apple, wherever you get your podcast. And we appreciate all of you who are, especially around this Christmas and Hanukkah and holiday season.
Starting point is 00:05:58 Listen to me clearly when I say this. The most important part because I don't want, you can at McShay 13 and at you good mch, M-U-E-N-C-H. But don't add us with this because I'm warning you now. It's not necessarily the top prospect at each position. It's our favorite. Now, sometimes that will align. And what does favorite mean?
Starting point is 00:06:19 Favorite is like, I just love this guy. He might be a second rounder, but I feel great about where he's going to go. He might be the third offensive tackle, but I just believe in him. And I got a special connection with him. So these will be the favorite players. And the beauty of this exercises will probably get to 30, 40, 50 players. And it's an opportunity for us to discuss a whole bunch of guys and share our initial thoughts. before we get in the pre-draft process.
Starting point is 00:06:46 All right, a lot of disclaimers there. Quarterback, Mitch. I needed that, though. I was starting to get nervous before you said it because I'm going to come right out of the gate. It's kind of a thin quarterback class, and I love the top two. I really do.
Starting point is 00:06:59 But for your consideration, and he may be in the transfer portal, he's filling it out. He may go out. Who are the top two? Just preface. Fernando Mendoza from Indiana, Dante Moore from Oregon.
Starting point is 00:07:10 Those are my top two. I would assume you agree, but maybe you don't. For your consideration, Cincinnati Bearcat, Brendan Sorsby. 6.3.2.35, rush for 580 yards and nine touchdowns this year. Stumbled against Arizona in Utah. I get it. He didn't have his best games. Recovered well in the last two, even though they lost their last four.
Starting point is 00:07:32 I get it. He's got a live arm. I like his ability to extend plays. He's a tough physical runner. You look at his touchdown interception ratio this year was 27 to 5. I kind of hope he goes back. But if he comes out, I think he's going to be a very intriguing prospect for teams. Brendan Soresby, love watching him play.
Starting point is 00:07:53 Interesting. Way to come out of the gate. Yeah. Cook it. I could play it safe, right? We could play it safe, but we're not here for that. It's guys we love. I think I'm going to surprise you here.
Starting point is 00:08:03 Okay. Mendoza is, as it stands right now, the most likely quarterback of the top guys we're talking about, to be in this class because Dante Moore, the buzz, it wasn't buzz, the fact of the matter was he was going back to school in the middle of the season. When I talked to NFL scouts, it wasn't like,
Starting point is 00:08:23 oh, I think, or I'm hearing, it was no time. Like, he's going back to school. Talk to mom, talk to dad, talk to agent, talk to coaches, talk to Dante. He's going back to school. But then his play after skyrocketing in the beginning of the year and then kind of dipping a little bit and then back up, what coincided with that, with the reacension, if you will,
Starting point is 00:08:49 is the fact that Will Stein's leaving for the NFL. So starting to believe that Dante Moore will be in this class. I'd say 6040. Dante Moore after the college football playoff winds up being in the 2026 draft class, which is I had it at like 1% 909. He wasn't late October. I say all this because we don't know about Tyson. in this class.
Starting point is 00:09:12 I would say strongly those will be the top three quarterbacks drafted if those are the three names that actually enter early, probably all three ahead of Sorsby, who I do think would be, you know, but let's see how that plays out. Yeah, we'll see how that plays out. I love Ty Simpson. You know my love for Ty Simpson. The ascension early in the year and the level of play in which he was playing, he was clearly playing the highest level of quarterback in all of college football, not just in this year's
Starting point is 00:09:41 draft class. Higher than Julian Sayan, who had better numbers. He just was playing the position. But then defenses figured some of the stuff out in terms of the protections and how to get to him. Run game, like honestly went from bad to worse. And your star wide receiver gets the yips in Ryan Williams or whatever you want to call it. And so all of a sudden, what he was putting out there in tapewise wasn't the same.
Starting point is 00:10:11 the shine came off a little bit for me with Ty Simpson in the last four or five weeks of the season and now it's well I'm kind of getting that shine back on there I love Ty Simpson but if I had to say my favorite and I'll define it by this the guy who I think has the best upside of all these quarterbacks we're talking about higher than even Mendoza is Dante Moore I agree I'm glad you're going this direction I love it. This is going to be an easy first one. I just believe in Dante Moore and his development.
Starting point is 00:10:48 I believe in his maturity. I believe in his pocket passing. I believe in his ability to extend. There's elements of his game that have to improve. He will be better set up for success if he plays another season in college. I don't know how that's tracking towards that as I just talked about. Maybe not. But I will say this.
Starting point is 00:11:09 if if someone were to call me tomorrow and say, hey, walk away from the McShea show, come be the general manager, money, here's the money, here's the setup, here's the guarantees of five, six years,
Starting point is 00:11:24 all of that. And I had to do it, and I would bring you as my top lieutenant bench, which is actually true. I would, and it's actually not that far off of reality, which is scary. I would, I've had some weird calls recently.
Starting point is 00:11:47 I would college and NFL. And if that team needed a quarterback, okay? I would recognize Mendoza and where he is and what he can be and say it's really good. And I don't have a problem with him. I would bet my first major decision on Dante Moore. Isn't that crazy? It's not that crazy. And I'll tell you why and tell me if this is crazy.
Starting point is 00:12:11 When I see Dante Moore play, I'd like to see, I want to know what he weighs, I think he's a little lean. We're just talking about, I'm not nitpicking here. I'm not trying to be like, this is a major deal. But if he was a little thicker, you know who he kind of reminds me of is Justin Herbert and Drake May. I see those things. I see that taller quarterback who moves really well for a guy who's that tall. I see the ability to throw down field. I see him getting on absolute runs.
Starting point is 00:12:36 Like Herbert and May, by the way, I think there are times where he's not quite as accurate. like he just sometimes the accuracy is a little inconsistent. He reminds me of those two guys. And if you're talking about those two players, you're talking about those two quarterbacks, I mean, I think that says a lot about what I think of him as a prospect. Is that nuts? No, I don't think it's nuts.
Starting point is 00:12:56 I mean, I don't see quite the energy on the ball as Herbert. But I see a lot of energy. So, you know, there's nitpicking, especially with the quarterback comparisons. They're all charge of course. Because things are so. when you study all the tape it's like well this arm is at a at a one and this one's at a 1.5 or you know when our scale one being elite and five being marginal it but um yeah i just i think if he keeps developing at this rate i think he he's got something different i agree guys so he's our top
Starting point is 00:13:35 and then so let's go let's go dante more and then and then so let's go and then so Sorsby in terms of favorites. To me, I like having him on the list because everyone knows Mendoza. Everyone's waiting on Ty Simpson's decision. I like having a little wild card there, whatever we're called. Second team, honorable mention, just like keep an eye on. I like Kevin Sorsby in there because he is a wild card in this class right now because he's said it. Exploring the NFL draft, also not coming back to Cincinnati.
Starting point is 00:14:05 If I do come back to college going somewhere else. Fascinating. running back this is where it's interesting okay and I have to start here let's start the spitballing
Starting point is 00:14:19 phase okay does it looks let's just be transparent does it look stupid if we come out with an all all mixhaye the all mixshay show team
Starting point is 00:14:32 and Jeremiah love is not on there it probably does It's tough because we love him too. It's not like we're just like, oh, he's the best player there. I love the way he runs. Let's do this. I'll talk about a player and you can talk about a different running back.
Starting point is 00:14:47 And then we can make a decision at the end. The guy I'm intrigued by Mensch is the guy who's had the worst season. If you look at anyone's top 10 running backs list, the guy who's had the most, not worst, but maybe statistically. Interesting. The most disappointed. season based off of previous years and expectations and everything else has been Nicholas Singleton. Yes.
Starting point is 00:15:16 100%. Talent for days. But I don't think we should write him off, you know? I know. It won't surprise me. I know. I know. But like everything was wrong in Happy Valley this year.
Starting point is 00:15:32 From the athletic director and the mess that he's made of that whole program to the head coach that was fired to the quarterback who regressed was never as great as everyone thought to begin with and wound up injured. And I know I'm throwing a lot of stones in the glass house right now. But I'm just like everything was a mess. The loss is like all of it. But how many times have we learned our lesson that like when things are bad in their last year in college, it does like Derek Stingley. Yeah. You know, I keep watching. Pick six, pick six, pick six. yesterday again. Like, does this guy like ball?
Starting point is 00:16:11 How did he just quit on LSU his last year? You know, like, talent always seems to prevail. And it won't shock me if we're here next year, right? As we've watched a season where Ashton Genty, and I know he had the long touchdown catch yesterday, and he's had some brilliant moments. And I know he's running behind a bad offensive line. And on, you know, on Christmas Day, we'll get to some of the rookies and where they would be redrafted.
Starting point is 00:16:34 But my point is, for all the love. for Jeremiah love, and I think he's going to be a phenomenal pro. The grades we're both going to wind up giving him or up there with some of the top guys. 100%. It won't shock me if we're sitting here next year, getting ready for our redraft, and you're dusting off the Santa suit. And we're saying, you know, man, maybe we should have just gone off the previous year's tapes. And maybe we knew the talent.
Starting point is 00:17:00 And he's 6-0-03. So 6'4 and 3 eighths of an inch was his verified height, 218 pounds verified weight by scouts in the offseason runs a 4-4. He catches the ball beautifully. He's had 102 catches throughout his career. Even this year when he hasn't had the production, just 549 rushing yards. He still had 13 rushing touchdowns on 123 carries. She still had 24 catches.
Starting point is 00:17:30 I don't know. Singleton's a guy. I'm not ready to write off, I guess is the best way I can put it. I hear you. I don't know if he was the guy that I see the talent, and I agree with everything you're saying. I don't know if he's one of my favorite guys right now. I actually think K. John Allen's more of a favorite for me.
Starting point is 00:17:45 Yeah. A guy that I really want, and I think 100% needs to be on this list, and it's a little tricky because you missed five games this year. And I think that the school that he's at is going to do everything in their power to bring him back. So we'll see what happens in terms of him coming out. Michigan running back Justice Haynes.
Starting point is 00:18:03 I mean, dude. 122.4 rushing yards per game when he's on the field. He went for 19 carries for 125 yards and a touchdown against Oklahoma. That Oklahoma run defense this year was ridiculous. I love the way he runs the ball. Does he have to get better in the passing game and kind of flesh out his game a little bit? 100% he does. But when you're looking at the power, the burst, the patience, again, this is an Alabama transfer.
Starting point is 00:18:32 I don't know how they, I've said this before. know how they let him out of the building. I love Justice Haynes. And again, an interesting year because he missed five games. But when he was on the field, he was awesome. And I love the way he ran and all the long runs, all the power. Like he's just, I mean, he's just a dude. When the time comes, I think he's going to be an excellent NFL running back. I don't disagree. Yeah, I don't disagree. Why don't we do this for the sake of, of like, not creating. conflict and issue. We, I mean,
Starting point is 00:19:09 the answer is who's your favorite back of this class, Jeremiah Love? Jeremiah Love. Yeah. So let's, but I'm glad we got to talk about two other backs that are going to get drafted and whether that's second round, third round, you know, early fourth like Camp Scataboo was and a lot
Starting point is 00:19:25 of great backs have been in the last couple of years. Let's go with Jeremiah Love as the top guy. Okay, and I'm sure Tucker will put together a traffic for us at the end of the show, be able to reveal it. Maybe we can break it up into offense and defense, however we want to do it. Tucker, you're the boss, as I've learned.
Starting point is 00:19:45 I think we go more one and Sorsby is that number two, is that keep an eye on guy for quarterback. I think we go Jeremiah Love and let's just do a, let's do a slash. It's our list. Let's do what, let's go with Haynes slash singleton. Two guys, like just keep, like keep an eye on these guys, okay? Okay. I'll be the first back taken, but let's keep an eye on both these guys. All right, wide receivers interesting.
Starting point is 00:20:13 We get two wide receivers. Let's talk about, how about you go with your top guy? I'll follow up with that. Then we've each come up with two, and then you go and then I go, and then let's create our list of four. It'll be two for the first team and then two other guys that we want on the. the list. Okay. I will, I'm going to die on this hill man. Denzel Boston from Washington. I mean, I was counting on you. He is 6-4-2-10. You know how many, you know what his percentage on
Starting point is 00:20:46 contested catches this year according to pro-com. Tell me, Steve. 76.9% McShay. It's not 50-50 balls for Denzel Boston. That's like Stefan Diggs. Dude, he's coming down with it. And I, and the thing I love about him for his frame, and I'm going to hear about, oh, he's not the most explosive or he's whatever. He's a, he could separate, man. He is a crafty route runner who can sink his hips and get in and out of breaks. I just, I don't, I think, I don't know, maybe it's, it's surprising me because he's playing. It's not like he's playing at some G5 school. He's playing at Washington. And somehow, maybe it's just this West Coast thing. I feel like he's being overlooked. Right now I have him as my third best receiver on my board. I love watching this kid play. I, I was counting on you to have Boston
Starting point is 00:21:30 on the list because I actually, I, I don't know that we will agree. exactly on the rankings. But I think when you get to wide receiver four in this class, which is possibly, probably a first rounder, definitely a first rounder as well. I think when we get to late April, we're going to be, like, it's going to be Boston and you better prove somebody else better prove that they're better, you know? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:54 I'm going to start with the guy who is probably, no, I'm going to say, we're doing favorites. McKay Lemon's my guy. You know that. USC. Yeah. He's on my list for sure. He just, the whole thing reeks of Emeka Abuka for me. Not the biggest. Not the, he's not going to test the best, but he just outperforms all those, the measurables, the numbers and all the stuff that we get kind of dizzied by in the process.
Starting point is 00:22:26 So I look at Lemon and I'm watching the route running savvy. And it's not necessarily like the crisp in and out of breaks, but you see that. It's also like finding soft spots and zones, weaving in and out of areas. The West Coast stuff, like the Sean McVeigh stuff, like the Puka Nakuwa, Cooper Cup back. Like that kind of stuff. It's a feel for the game that if you have it, it's so valuable. Mackay Lemons got it. All right?
Starting point is 00:22:55 And then the contested catches for a guy who's, yeah, he's, he's a 5-11, but he's 195. He's tightly packed. He's like confident going up with defenders hanging from him. I just like the way he plays the game. The run after catch. He's not Zachariah Branch, but he's from Georgia, the explosive run after catch guy, but he's very productive after the catch. And he does it with like contact balance, vision, again, weaving in and out.
Starting point is 00:23:24 I just, I think it just translates to the NFL, physicality, instincts, toughness, contested catches, all those things. It's what we've learned over the years of failing on 6-3 or 210 or 435 or whatever those, you know, if you don't know now how to evaluate wide receivers and how it translates and the guys that can quickly translate, I got nothing for you. And this is one of those guys that translates immediately to the NFL. And then the production, 79 catches, 1156 yards. Average 14.6 with 11 touchdowns this year.
Starting point is 00:24:03 And Jacoby Lane's not like a slouch on the other side. Like they went to him for a reason. So Lemons my guy at wide receiver. Absolutely love his game. I can't sit here and listen to you, do this every time and not have some pushback. There's a difference, right? I absolutely love McCoylemon's game. Everything you said about his game is correct.
Starting point is 00:24:27 He does win contested catches. 511-195. A mechabuca was 6 foot 200 pounds. It doesn't matter. Go Ladd-McConkey. I'm just talking about guys that maybe don't test well, maybe for whatever reason, get overlooked. And it feels like there's a ceiling towards how high we can bump them up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:49 Listen, it's going to be interesting what he tests. I remember watching Elijah Moore come out of Ole Miss and thinking his tape at Ole Miss was outstanding. Outstanding, man. And, like, it's just there's, I think size matters. Do you know Land McConkey ran a 4-3-9? Yeah, I do. Is he going to run a 4-3-9? I don't think the 4-3-9 that Ladd-McConkie runs is the reason why he's so successful.
Starting point is 00:25:16 It's because he's so sudden. I get, I hear you. It does matter a little bit, though. You used to tell me this all the time, dude. You would say, man, it's still a height-weight speed league. And in some ways it is. At certain positions, it's changing. And I think you're ahead of the curve there.
Starting point is 00:25:30 I agree with you on that. size isn't as important otherwise as a receiver as it used to be. That's clear. That is clear. But there is still that line of like, when do we get to the line of like, oh, now it's, now it's What do you think? You think McCoy Lemon's slow? I don't think he's slow, but I wouldn't be surprised at Bikai Lemmon's 510, weighs 180 pounds
Starting point is 00:25:48 and runs a 4-5-5. And then then we're talking about a different thing. That's why it's a 4-5-5, yes, we're talking about a little different thing. Yes. Yeah. So we'll see what he runs. But his tape is awesome. My next year was Carnell Tate.
Starting point is 00:26:03 So was Emekaubukas. Go ahead. That's the Emeka abuka of this class, is Carnell Tate. And it's easy. It's just, it's lazy, but it's easy. Carnal Tate, man, the ball skills. He's going to go up. He's going to get the 50-50 ball.
Starting point is 00:26:14 He's that Ohio State route runner. He knows how to stem his routes. He knows that leveraged defenders. Been banged up a little bit. I get that, but he's been very productive when he's been on the field. I love Carnell Tate. I do, too. He was actually my second guy.
Starting point is 00:26:28 I mean, but beyond that, I got an interesting I want to throw at you and I think it's more of an honorable mention but I mentioned the other day I wanted to do it and I did Antonio Williams from Clemsoneman you back to watch the team you might start falling back in love with that dude and I think he's going to be one of the things I love about him if you're looking at it
Starting point is 00:26:46 as evaluator or a potential GM I think the value is going to be there I think because he's had some problems staying healthy because he's a smaller guy and he's really going to be a slot receiver I don't think he's going to be a first round pick like we thought at the beginning of the year he's going to probably be a day two guy. But I went back and watched.
Starting point is 00:27:03 Remember how he'd like eight drops last year, but we couldn't figure it out because he caught the ball well? Two drops this year. He's cleaned it up. He plucks. He tracks well. He gets open underneath. He wins at the line of scrimmage.
Starting point is 00:27:15 There's a lot of things to like about Antonio Williams, man. And he's flown under the radar a little bit this year because he was hurt early on. And then the wheels came off for Clemson. I think values are really important word when you said that, that like it hit a, because ultimately at the end of the day, day favorite equates to value. Red Star will get to in a little bit equates to value.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Like I just believe this guy's going to wind up playing out playing where he's drafted, right? Yep. And so a lot of this list as you're listening or watching is about us saying, I get it. So-and-so player, Mendoza is probably going to get drafted higher than Sorsby. But there's something about this guy. I just think, like, keep an eye on this. because I think he's going to wind up getting drafted higher. I'll throw one more name in there.
Starting point is 00:28:03 Because I do love Zachariah Branch in a certain role. I'm not a Georgia. Yep. I do love Casey Concepcion on what he's done this year in a certain role coming out of Texas A&M. But I can't do a wide receiver's my guy list or favorites without throwing in Chris Brasel the second, CB2. Yeah, your guy.
Starting point is 00:28:24 I just like, everyone's sleeping. And I get it. He's inconsistency, but he's tall, he's long, he's freaking fast. He makes some big time plays, and I just, dad's an NFL player. I just think he's going to get to the league, and he's, I don't know, maybe he's a second round pick. Maybe he falls to the third. We'll see how he runs.
Starting point is 00:28:46 You put the fear of God in Georgia, man. Oh! He was scared him. Those TVs are still having night years. Yep. He made Georgia's secondary focus. more in practice every day, so they never felt that way again. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:02 You know? Yeah, Brazel would be, let's just keep him in mind. I'd quick think. Yeah. Another no, Chris Bell from Louisville coming off at Torne, ACL, which is tough. But he's a big dude. He's powerful after the catch. He's an exciting player to keep an eye on.
Starting point is 00:29:19 If I see one more person on Twitter Mafia, the AJ Brown, Chris Bell. Get it. Height, weight, speed. There you go. All right. So what are we going to agree on here? I think we agree on... I mean, screw it.
Starting point is 00:29:38 Let's have three wide receivers because everyone's a nickel. It's got to be Tate, Lemon, Boston. Love it. It doesn't have to be in that order. Just those would be the three. And then let's have second team or, you know, values, whatever we're going to call that secondary column should be. who else did you mention.
Starting point is 00:30:01 Brazle, Antonio Williams. Brazle and Antonio Williams. Let's throw those guys in. Guys that like just watch because where they get drafted, they're going to probably outperform it. All right. Tight end.
Starting point is 00:30:12 Interesting class. You got Kenyon Sadiq from Oregon and then you got a bunch of really good tight ends. Yeah. But from where the first tight ends drafted to the second and then, you know, and when that second one goes, there'll probably be a little run on tight ends.
Starting point is 00:30:28 in that, what do we want to say? Third, early fourth round range. Right, yep. We're going to wake, I think we're going to wake up on Saturday and be like, I can't believe this guy's still. I can't believe Gunner Helms still on the board. 46 catches for the Titans right now as a rookie. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:30:43 One of those deals, right? Yep, I agree. You get 46 catches, bro. The most interesting 40. We will talk about that 40 for the rest of the story. Yeah, you got a sniper in the top of the dome in Indianapolis. And then acted like he was fine until we saw a picture on X. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:03 And his ankle is the size of a cantaloupe. Purple. Oh, it's amazing. Amazing. I remember sitting in that hotel. I can't wait to get back to Indianapolis. We're back at the same hotel. We get the same room set up.
Starting point is 00:31:21 Continental, man. It was awesome. Oh, my gosh. Don't tell anyone. It's a new hotel in Indy. No one caught on. last year, except I think I saw like Kyle Shanahan. I was like, yeah,
Starting point is 00:31:31 he's always ahead of the curve. But sitting in there and we get this big room where you and I are watching the Combine and it's like he goes, Helm takes off his first two steps of the 40. I'm like, I think he got Yeah, what just happened, right?
Starting point is 00:31:51 Like a dog bit his ankle or he doesn't know how to run, like is there something physically wrong, you know? And I'm almost laughing because I'm like, it's like a nervous laughter and then we find out the story but we had to go do a show that night we still didn't know the story and we're like yeah right didn't look right got a kind of a tough takeoff ran a 488 or you know it was horrible all right so I didn't expect that long how can it not be Kenyon Sadiq I love Kenyon Sadiq man so you you take it from there I mean I just recently went back and just what he's just
Starting point is 00:32:26 the first thing the most impressive thing I like about him is that his the run after catch is different. He's, he's almost built different. He's just so explosive and with great contact, contact balance and power. I think they played Montana State who might win the FCS championship in the opener, or early in the season, and this poor corner from Montana State trying to tackle him. He just shrugged him off, ran 20, 30 yards for a touchdown. I mean, he is unique in run after catch, I think is the biggest thing.
Starting point is 00:32:56 He has six drops this year. I went through and watched them. I'm not overly concerned. I watch him. Again, it's kind of that Antonio Williams thing. When you watch him catch the ball, he's a natural hands catcher, great body control. Not really a big issue for me. I think he's got great ball skills. And then the ability to separate. He's already developing as a route runner. And I think he'll even get better in that area as he learns to stem guys and run more, a more complete route tree. But there's no question he's going to be able to separate. And he's
Starting point is 00:33:22 already finding pockets in zone looks. He's just the complete package at tight end. you might want him to be a little bit bigger, but in terms of the explosiveness, the stew's just different, and he's fun to watch. Yeah, and I got in a lot of trouble with folks in Eugene, Oregon, from my comments,
Starting point is 00:33:39 and the scouts got memo sent to them and all that, because I just was relaying the information, not trying to get anyone in trouble, but honest to God, I think, believe it or not, contrary belief, opposite of contrary belief,
Starting point is 00:33:54 I don't just, a lot of times when I say stuff, when people are like, what is it? And Tucker and Dan and Connor especially are like, oh, my gosh, can I know what I'm doing and I've thought about it before. And I knew what I was doing. Sometimes I think it's good for a player to hear what with the real messages behind the scenes. I know I like honesty.
Starting point is 00:34:18 And I'm not saying I had any, like, I know I didn't have anything to do. But I think words started to get out. He's 20 years old, still some maturing to do. why isn't he in practice scouts are showing up like and and Oregon's always going to defend their players but you know what happened since then is he kind of maybe got the message
Starting point is 00:34:39 and people were starting to talk about like why isn't he getting targeted and what's going he's such a physical blocker but like what's going on with Sadiq and he's not quite playing to the level in the production that Warren had last year and Loveland had those are those are tight end ones go back and look since that
Starting point is 00:34:55 since what I said again, it sounds like I'm making about me. It's not about me. There was something going on in that building and a message was being sent to him. I just happened to get that message and I wasn't supposed to get that message. That's what happened. From that point on, he's tied end one in the class. He's the high target guy. He's the big play guy, difference maker.
Starting point is 00:35:21 He's been what you expect from a guy that we're talking about as a potential top 15 pick, okay? and it's been awesome to watch. And that's the guy that an NFL team is going to spend a top 15 money, $30 million, guaranteed five years, to bring in and have that expectation. the second half of the season is what we're going to get. So,
Starting point is 00:35:41 Sadiq is absolutely the tight end one in this class. I want to throw out another name of guy, I think, who's going to get, who's going to wind up out playing where he's drafted. I went back and watched a little bit more tape on this. Jack Andrews, Enreys from Texas. There's a lot of guys I love in this group, but go ahead. I just Cal Transfer, walked on senior night, leaving, but still playing in the citrus bowl, okay?
Starting point is 00:36:09 Loves the game. The difference between he and Helm was targeted more. They had a quarterback and Quinn Ewers that couldn't throw outside and had a lot of struggles and kind of his security blanket, right? This year, you've got Arch getting better and better every week and starting to really deliver the ball all over the field and you've got wingo and more and livinston and moseley and and you know those those guys the four wide receivers who are all dudes right and so he doesn't have great production necessarily but still with those as the fifth best fifth most targeted player on that offense
Starting point is 00:36:47 winds up with 28 catches for um what's he got 311 yards couple touchdowns and i just gunnardellum slightly bigger, slightly bigger catch radius, maybe a little bit more physical, although I don't even know he was. I see a lot of similarities in terms of like instinctively good football player, but I think Andrews is, I mean, I know Andrews is faster,
Starting point is 00:37:11 can stretch the seam a little bit more. And I go back to 46 catches for Helm is the 120th pick overall fourth round. 46 catches. I think Enreys is going to be on a similar trajectory in terms of what he can provide in the NFL. Yeah, because I like the top of the tight end class, so it's going to drive some of those guys down.
Starting point is 00:37:30 I will say we needed to at least mention the William V. Campbell Award winner. Do you know what that is, McShay? I didn't. It's the academic Heisman. It's apparently the smartest guy. Did you know that? I didn't know it. I actually did, yes.
Starting point is 00:37:44 Vanderbilt's Eli Stowers, just guy I want to mention because I love the production. I love what he can do as a receiver. But I'm fine with Endries being the second guy there. He's going to be, there are a lot of talent dudes at the top. Andrews is going to be one of those guys. that just sneaks in. He could have the very similar path.
Starting point is 00:38:00 Well, let's go. Let's go, Sadiq as the, as the first team. And then let's throw in injuries and stowers. Two other guys that keep an eye on. All right. We got to go tempo. Dan's already telling me.
Starting point is 00:38:10 We got to hurry up. Yep. Offensive tackle. Yeah, this is your position. You can, you can, but my head's already spinning. Like, that's what's the problem with this one, okay? So I'm just going to, I'm just going to tell you right now.
Starting point is 00:38:22 I'm not, I know Spencer Fano is our top, he's the top tackle on my board. He's my favorite tackle to watch. He just moves different. I know he's the right tackle. I know he had some problem against Texas Tech. I understand all of that. He's also the Outland Award winner. He is, Spencer Fano is different.
Starting point is 00:38:38 And I love Maui Noah from Miami, too, and he's a ton of fun to watch because he's a grinder. I do wonder if he's going to end up being a guard in the NFL. But Spencer Fano would be my number one guy that I love to watch. He's my favorite player. He's probably my favorite player watching this entire class. So that's, that's it. I was waiting for, it felt like a, it felt like a buck.
Starting point is 00:39:02 Well, there's some other interesting guys. Like, I think there's some guys that we're going to, this is what's interesting about this and kind of bleeding into we're going to go into your interior offensive line in a second. Like you look at guys like, uh, all right, never mind. Don't get away other names. I'm sorry. I knew where you're going, so I didn't cut you off because I'm rude. I cut you off because I didn't want you to, spoiler alert.
Starting point is 00:39:20 Um, and we did not, we did not talk a lick about this before, but I just, I can read his mind with certain things. I'll say this. Fano's fine. We'll put him his first team. I will say this. Caden Proctor. And I've struggled sometimes with Alabama guys, some massive guy, all that.
Starting point is 00:39:41 This dude's a little unique. Remember like Orlando Brown coming out of Oklahoma? Oh, he won't get out of the top 15 picks, in my opinion, just because, yeah, because of what he can be. You learn lessons over time. The tape doesn't always look great at the college level with some of these guys. And yes,
Starting point is 00:39:59 cornerback more than any position. You talk about the arm length combined with the 40 time changes the trajectory of where guys get drafted and wide receiver with 40s and certain. But when you look at traits, I don't know if there's a position
Starting point is 00:40:15 in terms of NFL success where it correlates more. And when you tell me 6-6-7, 360, traits rarely lose in the NFL at the offensive. tackle position. And then... The kids are going nuts right now.
Starting point is 00:40:33 I know, six, seven. You heard me pause. And my son is so mad at me for all of it. So Tate, I didn't do it. Uncle Minch did. But the athleticism for the size. And yeah, is it... Different.
Starting point is 00:40:46 Heavy. He's got... I see a guy who he's getting... He's not where he's going to be. He's not yet where he needs to be. But I see improvement this year. And I just did Caden Prox. So we'll go... go Fano 1, Fano 1, and then we'll go Proctor as the second there. Okay. Now let's transition to
Starting point is 00:41:06 interior offensive line. Yep. And this is what I tell you. When I get your name right, my Frank D. Felice, remember four fingers one. Hey, boys, boys, your way don't work. Now we do is mine, right? Can't eat it on the bus. Can't eat it on the field. Figure it out. We're going to be at Mascanamed all day long. You got to have lunch. Got to eat lunch. Can't eat it on the bus. Candidated on the field, figure it up. He also used to say what I, like basically, essentially, what I know your name and learn your name, it means you matter. Francis Maui Noah, it's draft time.
Starting point is 00:41:45 I got your name right. I think interior offensive line, I don't think there's going to be a better interior offensive lineman in this class. You think he's going to play on the inside? I think, I think that would be best case. I could see him at right tackle. It could work out. If you're saying, Todd, you've just got that GMC,
Starting point is 00:42:06 you have to hit on an offensive lineman. And it could be any of the five positions. I would say, give me Mauanoa at Guard. And we're good. I like that. I agree with that. He said, I mean, 6-6, 325, former five-star, started as a freshman, right tackle,
Starting point is 00:42:24 gotten better each year. I mean, just dominant in the run game. has some things that passed. I just, I think he's, I think he's a lock as a, as a starting guard and a great one in the NFL. I,
Starting point is 00:42:39 I, I am with you 100%. That's our top guy. The next name, though, that I think really needs to be there is Oregon's Emmanuel Pregnan. I watch this guy's tape in the last 24 hours,
Starting point is 00:42:49 and I am, and I'd seen him a little bit already, but I'm hearing a lot about him now. I'm in love. I am, like, I am, I think he's going to go, I think he's going to be the first true guard off the board.
Starting point is 00:43:01 No offense to Penn State fans, but I think he's going to be the first true guard, the guy that plays guard that's going to come off the board. I'm telling you, man, he is scheme versatile in the run game. He's got the power to move guys off the line in a man gap scheme. He can reach guys as a zone blocker. I'm watching him pass protection. I love the base that he sets with, so he's strong.
Starting point is 00:43:18 I love the way he passes off guys with his hands. He can move a little bit side to side. He's like, I think he's 330 pounds. He's a four-year starter. Started at Wyoming, went to USC for two years. and I was at Oregon. I was blown away with how good his tape was. So that's our list.
Starting point is 00:43:37 Maui Noah won, and then we'll put pregnant on it as kind of the guy to keep an eye on, right? Yep. Bench, a lot of things in life, excited. I got a new lease on life. A lot of things excite me in life, but I'll tell you a few things that probably excite me the most, right? One is, anytime we talk about that's my guy, right?
Starting point is 00:43:57 My guys. two is, and it's kind of a correlation with the first, Red Star players. That's like, when you do all this work and you're working behind the scenes and you're talking everyone at the school and you're figuring out who the human being is and how much he loves ball and the leadership he brings,
Starting point is 00:44:14 and you talk about the tape that you pour into in a dark room, eating snacks you shouldn't eat and drinking stuff that's probably not even great for you, right? Yep. So it's my guys, it's Red Stars, and it's the thought of you and me driving around the coast. It'll be cute and fun.
Starting point is 00:44:31 The thought of you in a Scout Motors vehicle in New Hampshire with that beard going from the mountains down to the coast, like we got to, Mench is cool, but can you imagine the cool level, the factor? So today, what excites me the most
Starting point is 00:44:50 as we get into our red stars who are essentially my guys, today's My Guys is brought to you by our really good friends and partners. Scout Motors, okay? I love a good shout-out. So here's one. The all-new Scout Tara and Scout Traveler,
Starting point is 00:45:05 iconic in the 70s, reimagined for tomorrow with plans for advanced four-wheel drive. It's one comeback you'll want to watch. All right? So with all that said, Munch, and I love, I'm not joking. Can I just tell you I'm a little mad of you?
Starting point is 00:45:22 Why? You've gotten my hopes up for one of these things. I really looked at... Tucker! Tucker! We don't have those speakers yet. I don't know if I could rugged enough to pull off the terror, which is also, I mean, but these cars, I mean, they look,
Starting point is 00:45:37 I don't even know if you call them cars. They're beautiful. Vehicles are unbelievable. They are unbelievable. I spent 15 to 20 minutes watching this thing the other day. You know me. Like I love going to like the shade hotel. Like, give me like that 70s vibe.
Starting point is 00:45:50 Like we're like 70s babies. Our youth in the 80s. Scout was like the deal, man. And now, but. But give me that without like the rolling up the window or like the, you know, or like staying at like an old hotel, but like, you have to like, like, I want AC and I want all the luxuries of today. This is what they're doing.
Starting point is 00:46:11 I'm like weirdly fired up about it. So talk. They are. Please. Please get our names on the list. And then we'll have to talk to management. We're going to need to. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:21 All right. So Red Star fits perfectly with what we're doing today. Red Star player. Give me your Red Star. It could be at any position. It won't be a name on our first and second team, okay? It's just a guy that you believe in at this point that if you walked into the GM's office and said,
Starting point is 00:46:37 I know we got a third round grade on him. I'm going to put that red star next to his name on our board. And that means start thinking about him late second because I believe in him that much. And I've evaluated six, seven hundred players. Six, seven again. Hundreds of players in my area, but this is the guy.
Starting point is 00:46:57 believe in the most. Who's yours? I don't know. There's other guys that are worthy of this, right? There really are. But I think there's one clear name. And I'm assuming you're going to have the same guy, Texas Tech inside linebacker, Jacob Rodriguez.
Starting point is 00:47:10 I don't care. But a great one. Find a way to get this dude on my team. I don't care. He is, and it's a deep inside linebacker class. I get that. Leads the country with seven force fumbles. We love a good punch, man.
Starting point is 00:47:24 This guy will come in and he'll punch it out. He'll rip it out. He just has a nose of the football. Same thing. Four interceptions this year. It's an instinct thing. I don't even think he has great ball skills. There's been,
Starting point is 00:47:32 there's two of those interceptions. He just taps the ball to himself. He doesn't just snatch it out of the air. But again, just making plays. He's not the biggest guy. He'll miss some tackles, but he's instinctive. The motor is ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:47:44 The intelligence is ridiculous. Gimme Jacob Rodriguez, no matter what. I don't care what he tests. Don't tell me about the testing numbers. I don't care about it. Maybe they're good. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:47:54 I don't want to know. I just, I don't care. I want him. in my building somehow, some way. That's a great red star. That's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's a, that's a, that's a, that's a, Rodriguez is a my guy if I've ever seen one.
Starting point is 00:48:04 Um, I'm gonna see your Rodriguez and I'm gonna. Put, put it all in. Our Mason Thomas. Now he'll get drafted higher. He's an edge and he's got sack production than Rodriguez. But again, it's about like, all right, we've got him here on our board. I think a lot of teams are planning to like early second some, will shock you if we're here at this point
Starting point is 00:48:30 15 weeks into the NFL season next year or like how did our Mason Thomas get to like pick 46 48? Yeah how did how did Denver get this guy on day two and all of a Sunday's got you know right yeah yeah like a Nick Benito type deal? Yes that's what I'm thinking man Oklahoma yeah yeah it's it's it's the explosive first step now mind you let's start with why he might not be a first round pick and a guy like Ruben Bain, Keldrick Fogg.
Starting point is 00:48:58 Like guys that are awesome football players and maybe have different measurables, although Bain has got the short arms. Guys are going to get drafted earlier, but it won't shock me next year at this very moment. And even like Donovan, Azaraku, right? All these same kind of traits, undersized,
Starting point is 00:49:14 slow, and our Mason Thomas may start off slow adjusting to like the size, the speed, the length and all that. But we've seen Azaraku start to take off in Dallas, right? Our Mason Thomas will figure it And it's with that first step, it's with that motor, relentless motor. And there's something about his short area power with his hands.
Starting point is 00:49:34 I think he's going to be able to get it done at the next level. So R Mason Thomas, he had the injury. Ironically, the play that he's best known for this year, the most impactful play, the 71-yard fumble return against Tennessee, what turned out to be a 33-27 game, one-score game. that and remember Oklahoma at the time was struggling Tennessee jumped out but that changed the whole landscape of that game and quite honestly and that season probably yeah
Starting point is 00:50:05 the season like that's where that's why they they got to where they did so our Mason Thomas nine and a half tackles for loss six and a half sacks two fourth fumbles that 71 yard fumble return all in 10 games like Rodriguez and R Mason Thomas as my guys red stars I love it I love it And today's My Guys was brought to you by Scout Motors, as we said. Scout Motors, man, who are also making some pretty amazing moves in their field
Starting point is 00:50:34 with the all-new Scout Terra and Scout Traveler that Mench has an affinity for. I get it. Some guys are Terry guys. Some guys are traveler guys. Girls and gals. We all see it. They're both coming soon, okay? Like, get involved.

Then Minnesota, home against Detroit, they'd love to just ruin the lion's season. Opportunity to do that late in the air. And then kind of like Washington against Dallas. So maybe play all three of those, play them all separately, but definitely the first two with Kansas City and Minnesota. Anyway, seven days of gifts, one big finale. Starting point is 00:53:59 the texas a and m tape i just love and you know what's great about him is the way the cori heatherman uses him which is they they work him inside on guards and centers you know we talk about that nascar package you always think about those giants teams that would beat the brady patriot teams and they had that nascar package where they would kick their speed guys inside that's what they do with messador and that's what they're going to do at the n-fell and he's going to be yeah Jason Pierre Paul, exactly. They're going to do that with this kid too. His hands, I mean, as a former interior offensive lineman,
Starting point is 00:54:28 I want no part of this kind of a player. He is just impossible to block because of the power and the violence. And then you add the motor into it and how good he is against the run. Akeem Messador is just a Tasmanian devil out there, and I love his game. I just want to let the audience know, whether you're watching or listening. When Mench did that, yeah, JPP. He was not glitching. He didn't just have like a mental,
Starting point is 00:54:56 you didn't get like a sneak peeking or something weird going. I'm not very polished. That was Dan. That was Dan Comer, Mr. Everything for this show. Sorry, Dan. Shooting a quick note in our chat here and saying JPP. It just must have been a funny moment for the audience, right? Oh, it was Tucker.
Starting point is 00:55:19 Tucker. Tucker. Even better. Also, Mr. Everything for the show. I mean, without those two, what would we have? Like, literally not. It would be you and I talking to each other on phones about irrelevant things and doing it for three hours and having no structure. And it would get nowhere for no audience.
Starting point is 00:55:36 Okay. I got you on that. I don't disagree. And I've come to love Messador as well. I do think, and it feels like chalk, but I do want to say something about Keldrick Falk from Auburn. Sack production is not where it needs to be. only two sacks this year, okay? And I get it and it's concerning and all of that.
Starting point is 00:55:56 But when you tell me I got a guy who's 6-6, who's 270, who's got the length that he has, he's got the power that he has, and he's got the pressures that he creates, and the motor and the way he plays the game, the physicality, that translates to the NFL. Sack production often does as well, so it is concerning. But I'll say this about Falk.
Starting point is 00:56:17 He's one of the youngest prospects. I think he's only 20 years old right now. Maybe like 19 turning 20. One of the youngest prospects in the entire draft class. And so there's a lot to work with there. What he is now is not what he's going to be in 2027, 2028. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:56:36 I hear you. I don't care if we go Messador 1, Falk 2. If we go Faw. You decide here, Mitch. What do you want to do? I think like it looks more natural to put Falk as our guy. But it feels like Messador is a little bit. bit more like we're making the statement that we want to make.
Starting point is 00:56:54 Yeah, for this list, I would go Messador and then fall. Let's go Messador and then fog. And then obviously our Mason Thomas is there as the Red Star. Interior defensive lineman. You can start here too. I'm going with Oregon defense tag on Mari Washington. There's a lot of guys I like in this class, by the way. But I look at Amari Washington.
Starting point is 00:57:16 I just think he's a, he can be, he's 330 pounds, man. He's six with three, 330 pounds. And he could be a one-gap guy if he wanted to be. He's that explosive. He can be that disruptive. He's also stout. I mean, just look at that size. He's tough to move.
Starting point is 00:57:31 I don't think he's realized his upside as a pass rusher get, but keep two things in mind. He was number four on Bruce Feldman's freaklist coming into the season. This dude is different in the way he can move. I don't think he's reached his upside yet. And the other thing to keep in mind is he has seven passes broken up. He had one against Jay Madison the other night. Does a good job of getting his hands up, getting his hands and passing lanes, batting balls down.
Starting point is 00:57:51 That's something that I really like about his game too. Amari Washington, I think he's already. Just based on the tape, I would put him in near the top of the class. And then when you add in the tools and where he could end up going, it's just, this is a guy that can get in the NFL and just take off. Peter Woods is probably going to be the first interior defensive line taken out of Clemson. Okay.
Starting point is 00:58:15 he had a disappointing year from a production and like it didn't my gosh his tape was so good last year and it had yeah had the feeling of a guy who this year was going to come out and be like all right I'm refined a little bit more you know like hand usage I'm going to like I'm going to add one or two tools to the bag and it just didn't see it but it's still he's so damn good right yeah uh and then you got omari washington of the top guy has had the best year, I think, in my opinion. But then you got this guy, Caleb Banks from Florida. Oh, I thought you were to go in a different direction.
Starting point is 00:58:54 I love this. Go ahead. Like, he basically, I think he played 24 snaps all season long, had a foot injury. And sure, say he shut it down, say he got re-injury. Like, I don't care what you say. 6-6-330 with, we're going to find out in Indianapolis. I'm told it's 35 plus. inch arm length.
Starting point is 00:59:17 Bowling players. It moves well. Sack production has never been awesome, but I think there's like Dexter Lawrence's sack production wasn't awesome. Like I think this guy's got a chance to be pretty damn special in the NFL. I do too.
Starting point is 00:59:33 We have to have a third name here though. All right, give it, go. Ohio State's Kate McDonnelld, who I know he's been awesome. Yeah, I know. I know. I think we talked about Kay's and I know he moves better than I thought.
Starting point is 00:59:44 Yeah. I told you. you? Yeah, he does. I didn't, I wasn't buying it. I went back and I watched. You're right. He moves better than I thought. He's got some. There's upside there. He McDonald's got some juice. Yeah. When we look back at this class as disappointing, I don't want to say, if there are four guys drafted in the interior offensive line in the first round, you'd say, boy, it didn't feel like we had four guys playing college football this season that belonged in the first. You know what I mean? Woods disappointing. Bang sat out. McDonald came out, a kind of not a no-we. but like skyrocketed Washington kind of, you know.
Starting point is 01:00:19 It's another good defensive tackle class. It's another good defensive tackle class. All right, linebacker, this one's intriguing. Yeah, it is. It's a great class. I mean, put Arvel Reese there, right? Yeah. Because he's unique.
Starting point is 01:00:31 He's a unicorn. If he's not your favorite, if he's not your best and something's wrong, he's a unicorn. 6-4, 240, the length, the edge-rushing ability, the ability to cover the range, and he's just a first-year starter. So you know it's just going to keep getting. better. But I'm interested, I'll start out, and I want another name from you, and maybe it'll be the same name. I just feel like we got to stop overlooking what's going on with Sunny Stiles, man. Yes, there we go. Yes, my guy. Also 6-4. Also 240. Also athletically
Starting point is 01:01:10 freaky-y-gifted. Runs sideline to sideline as well as any. buddy fast, rangy in coverage. Instincts were good last year, got better as the season progressed. This year, I think they're even better. Showing some leadership, kind of like, I don't know. I, I, I, Rees is going to be the first, and some, and a lot of people are going to say, well, the edge rushing also helped.
Starting point is 01:01:36 He's going to be a top five pick. Could be the first non-quarterback taken. Could be. Sonny Stiles, I think it would be a travesty if he's not. the top 25 picks and if someone takes him at like 16. Where Jack Campbell get drafted but Detroit 18? Something like. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:01:54 I can look though. But it's been a while. I think it's one in the last, it's like one in the last two or two in the last four years, something like that, like true off the ball linebackers that didn't have edge components to them drafted in the first round. Not a lot of guys go.
Starting point is 01:02:08 Stiles is going to go. I got to believe. I think you go, this linebacker class is so good. You can go five or six deep here of the guys that I like. I mean, Deontay Lawson, C.J. Allen,
Starting point is 01:02:19 Jake Golday from Cincinnati, there was a bunch of dudes in this class, so it's really good. But I like R2. I like, I like R2. Yeah, and I went,
Starting point is 01:02:30 I did that list of the McShay report. I don't have in front of me. I ripped off 10 names, and there was an 11th, too. 11 guys that are going to wind up getting drafted, and there probably, there are more. I wasn't including all the under,
Starting point is 01:02:44 11 guys just in the college football, playoff 12 teams and honestly it was from 10 teams I didn't have a linebacker from JMU or from Tulane right the linebacker play is similar to the running back play in college football a year ago you know and all those yeah backs drafted so it's been awesome to watch um cable was the 18th pick not bad good pull campbell was thank you yeah thank you it's how our relationship works mentioned I've had a thousand conference calls and I go on rants and then all of a sudden he'll just right before we move on the next subject he always rips it off for me um yeah so i i think that's good i think it's the obvious is rase but with styles
Starting point is 01:03:24 right right there behind them and um do you want to add the third or where are you going i think we're good okay um all right cornerback i'm going to jump you on this one oh i'm so excited to my guy if you get my guy before i do i'm going to be so mad Go ahead. Go ahead. When you spell his name, does it look like you're about to spell monsoon? No. No, but I love him. I love that guy. Monsoon, Mansoor Delane. Six foot 190, scheme versatile. I love my cornerbacks to be smart. I just do. Yes, I love speed. I love length. I would love length, speed, and smart.
Starting point is 01:04:06 because smart like smart Trump's tough smart he is just so damn smart man and the scheme versatility he provides you as a guy who can match up man to man who can and like from first in 10
Starting point is 01:04:22 being man to man to second and six be in zone to third and three be back in man to man like he can match zone he just does it all and he's been productive this year and he's got, what, the two interceptions,
Starting point is 01:04:38 45 tackles, 11 pass breakups. He's been around the ball versus the run pass all season long. That disappointing LSU season, if you had to pick one player who exceeded the expectations on a massively disappointing LSU team,
Starting point is 01:04:55 it's Delane. And it transferred for Virginia Tech. I think it was three years at VATEC, one in LSU. I just, I like a lot about his game. I think he's a first. rounder might not be the probably not the first corner off the board.
Starting point is 01:05:09 I think that could be Germad McCoy from Tennessee. There's some other guys that you'd throw into the mix. But I think, I think Delane, when I talk to scouts now, it's not, in the beginning of the year, and he might play his way in the back end of the first. Now it's like, I don't know that it'll be the first corner taken, but he's like, he's a locked top. I don't say top 20.
Starting point is 01:05:30 His corners have slid a little bit more. He's a lock first rounder won't be shocking if it's closer the first half of the first round than it is like the end of the first round fringe second i am with you 100 percent i called you right after i watched his tape and we basically said at the same time just the intelligence he's rarely he's rarely wrong and he can do so many different things for you um and it may be boring it's almost boring his game but he's just so good because he's always in the right place and he's always doing what he's supposed to do i he's awesome he's the number one corner on my board. A guy that I am super excited about and I've been watching a bunch of corners lately is
Starting point is 01:06:07 San Diego State defensive corner Chris Johnson, man, four picks this year. Two of them return for touchdowns. He's six foot 185. I think there's six foot 182. I think that's verified. Six foot 182. He was the second team All-American. I'm kind of like I was like, I saw the All-American team came out. I was like, we got to talk about him soon because people are going to start talking about this kid. He is that good. I love the way that he. reads the quarterback, steps in front of receivers, plays the ball, and off man in zone looks. And the other thing, and this really jumped out to me, man. I'm watching this Brandon Cese kid from South Carolina, and I'm like, he's pretty good, man.
Starting point is 01:06:43 I'm watching Colton Hood from Tennessee, and I'm like, they're pretty good. One thing that Johnson is clearly better at than those guys is he is way more comfortable, way more comfortable with his back to the line of scrimmage than those guys are. Johnson is fine, turning and running and turning to locate the ball over. his, you know, he just, he has a knack for it. He has an instinct for it where the other players are still kind of developing that feel. I was blown away with how good Johnson. And he's my third corner on my board right now.
Starting point is 01:07:13 I think he's that good. He's going to the senior bowl. I'm really excited to watch him down there and see what he can do. I don't think enough people are talking about him. Chris Johnson from San Diego State, watch out. I've done a couple clips on him because I've talked to some guys that are really high on him and I've seen kind of the ground swell, if you will. I'm excited to get to his full
Starting point is 01:07:32 when the season's over and we're just diving in three, four hours on a guy. I'm excited to get to his tape because what I've seen, I really like. I'm glad you brought him up. Also, the school's special teams player
Starting point is 01:07:43 of the year in 2023, and I love when I see stuff like that. Yeah, it just goes, yeah, it says something. All right, last position, safety. I'm going to throw one that's off the radar a little bit. Emmanuel McNeil Warren from Toledo. Heard a little buzz about him. watched him. He's not a first rounder. We all know who the first safety is off the board,
Starting point is 01:08:06 but I'm just discussing some guys that deserve consideration here. McNeil Warren is 6-3, 209 pounds. The word that comes to mind for like a guy who's long, he's rangy. He can match up man-to-man covers a lot of ground, though, in zone and versus the run. Highly productive player, 73 tackles, five and a half tackles for loss. I think he had a pair. You had two interceptions this year, another four past breakups, five interceptions over the last three years. Not massive interception production,
Starting point is 01:08:38 but you want guys that, like, have done it, you know? I almost had a horrible. I do check myself. I was going to compare it to a prom date. Well, here we go. Yeah, there we go. Four, but four-year player at Toledo, could have gone somewhere else,
Starting point is 01:09:02 hung there, Tampa, Florida product. I think McNeil Warren in a class where it's Caleb Downs and then there's kind of a big drop, but some other names. I mean, you look at the list and, what is it, Thinaman?
Starting point is 01:09:17 I can't, well, I'll pronounce the name when he does it right. Bray Hubbard, who we love, Michael Taft. Ray Hubbard, I thought might be your guy. I thought Bray Hubbard might be a guy. I strongly considered Hubbard. I strongly considered Michael Taft.
Starting point is 01:09:30 this guy Kyle Lewis from from Pitt is getting a lot of buzz when I talk to people I got to get into his team There's a lot of names but it's definitely like the one guy and then a drop off but then we'll start to see the safeties go kind of that late second third fourth round range and there's a there's a group of pretty good guys I love a j halsey out of lSU I know you just talked about delay and maybe him being a highlight for that defense or that team I think halsey's the same way kid transferred from houston this year year. He'll say this. Ass off this year. One of the, yeah, one of the things I love about him is that is that he's so aggressive. Now, that will get you in trouble.
Starting point is 01:10:07 It does get him in trouble. Sometimes the angles need to be better when he's feeling against the run. You know, he does get in trouble with the aggressiveness. But he's got eight interceptions over the last two seasons. This guy's been an absolute tackling machine. He leads LSU in solo and total tackles this year. Second on the team in tackles with 74 for Houston last year. 98 tackles in 2023.
Starting point is 01:10:28 This is a dude that will come up and hit you in the mouth. And then what really, I think, sets him apart is that ball production is that he has a great feel for one of the jump routes and then he will pluck it out of the air. He is a natural pass catcher. He is a playmaker at safety. He's 5-11-2, 222 pounds. He's a little squat. But he moves really well. Be interesting to see how he tests.
Starting point is 01:10:48 I just love his game. So we had 13 positions that we wind up doing with three wide receivers, which was an add-on. We also had the Red Star. So it was basically 14 positions. I love this exercise that for no other reason, we'd play. probably got to 60, 70 names, 6-7. Yep. So let me, Tucker, throw up the graphic here, okay?
Starting point is 01:11:11 I've just, these are the first team guys. And then we also had the honorable mentions, the second team, other guys that we think are going to be value picks. And again, these are not, you look at this and you say, well, Dante Moore is the first team quarterback and the All-McShay team, All-Mixie Show team. Yeah. Yeah, he is. and maybe we're not saying he's the number one ranked.
Starting point is 01:11:35 We're not saying he's going to be the first one off the board. I'm not even saying whether he's going to be in the class or not. I'm just saying whether it's upside or something about his game. We think he's going to outplay his value. We went with the guys that we loved our favorite players, and that's what our list is about. So define it however you want, but don't get caught up trying to send posts to us,
Starting point is 01:11:52 messaging us about all, like, what do you mean? But it still lines up pretty much. I mean, we did a good job of making it look like, you know, a lot of the top guys off the board. Dante Moore, quarterback. Jeremiah Love it running back from Notre Dame. Denzel, Boston, Mike, Mackie Lemon, and Carnell Tate, a wide receiver.
Starting point is 01:12:11 Yes, we recognize Jordan Tyson's going to be, if not the first, second or third. What? I mean, just thinking about those three specifically together, can you imagine that, that line? Yeah, you got your 6-4 receiver, you got your 6-3 guy who, and then you got your McCai Lemon in the slot. It would be beautiful. And then Kenyon and Sadiq, we can flex them out too at the tight end position from Morgan.
Starting point is 01:12:32 Spencer Fano from Utah at offensive tackle. We kicked Francis Maui Noah into guard from right tackle at Miami. Caleb Banks, we didn't put Peter Woods there. We went with Caleb Banks, I guess. Yeah. And who else did you say? Amari Washington. And Amari Washington, okay?
Starting point is 01:12:50 I think Banks will go ahead of Washington, but we'll see. Arvell Reese at linebackers and obvious, but we mentioned a couple of linebackers. we absolutely love that are playing the level as well. Mansour Delane, we get it. I know that. Go ahead. I'm with you on that one, though. I would have him right there.
Starting point is 01:13:08 I love Chris Johnson. Mansour Delane's awesome. If you're a fan of the craft of playing corner, this guy's the guy to watch. And then we had a bunch of guys that we like at the safety position, including McNeil Warren from Toledo. And you mentioned it. AJ Halsey from Lowe's U.
Starting point is 01:13:27 from LSU and Taff and and Hubbard and all those guys. But you can't have a list without Caleb. And we should mention it with Caleb Downs. Yeah. He is a favorite. Like, you almost gloss over it because I feel like everyone knows at this point,
Starting point is 01:13:43 but we'll do some deeper dives into Caleb Downs. We did a whole show on him in the preseason. The instincts, the leadership, the toughness, the scheme versatility, everything he brings to the table and the fact that he just kind of got overshadowed on what we're talking about is becoming like one of those iconic defenses
Starting point is 01:14:00 after a group from last year eight guys drafted and was awesome defensively. This one's going down with like 2001 Miami and Bama and USC and like the
Starting point is 01:14:11 mid 2005, whatever it was with with Malaga what was it? Cushing and Malaga. Malaga. Malaga. Matthews.
Starting point is 01:14:23 Thank you. Matthews, all those guys. Alabama in the 2010, early 20, tens, Georgia recently. It's one of those defenses. And Caleb Downs really, like,
Starting point is 01:14:33 he's the guy in the back end that allows them to do so many different things. You know what I love about that is the top, I think for both of us, our top corner and our top safety, when you talk about defensive backs, I think people want to know how fast are they, how well do they move? And their top trade for both of those guys, I think it starts with intelligence.
Starting point is 01:14:49 And it speaks to how important that is at that position. All right, this is a fun one. We'll be back on Christmas. We're going to tape it slightly in advance. because no one wants to work on Christmas, but people do want to get a little content when the kids are off playing with their toys or whatever it is.
